- 0:00Speaker 1: Yesterday I had to leave work literarly because it was
- 0:03Speaker 1: moving day for Mohammed, my son, not the prophet at
- 0:09Speaker 1: the U. And you guys might remember a couple of
- 0:13Speaker 1: years ago when I moved my daughter Jonesy into Oh
- 0:17Speaker 1: you can go to x ninety six dot com slash lave.
- 0:19Speaker 1: Let's see pictures of this. Uh moved Jonesy in two
- 0:23Speaker 1: years ago and it was a nightmare. Parking was terrible.
- 0:30Speaker 1: We pulled up and and uh, there there are parking
- 0:34Speaker 1: enforcement there and we're unloading the truck. I'm sitting there
- 0:37Speaker 1: idling in the truck and and and my husband and
- 0:40Speaker 1: Jonesy are unloading and they actually gave us a ticket
- 0:43Speaker 1: while we were sitting there.
- 0:45Speaker 2: Really awful. They hadsed to be doing that.
- 0:49Speaker 1: No, but there was no other But we said, well
- 0:52Speaker 1: where should we go? I don't know, but you can't
- 0:53Speaker 1: be here. There was no no option this year. I
- 0:58Speaker 1: don't know what they did, if a lot of people
- 1:00Speaker 1: have complained or what. It was amazing. You pull up
- 1:06Speaker 1: and I think we have some video of this that
- 1:08Speaker 1: I took from the you housing Instagram page.
- 1:11Speaker 2: They already said let's organize this.
- 1:13Speaker 1: Yeah, so they said you look for the people in
- 1:16Speaker 1: the fluorescent t shirts and there are like thirty of them.
- 1:19Speaker 2: Wow.
- 1:20Speaker 1: You pull up, they unload your car for you into
- 1:24Speaker 1: these big bins that you can then take up to
- 1:28Speaker 1: the room. So it's like instead of making fifteen trips
- 1:31Speaker 1: to your car to move stuff, they move it for you.
- 1:35Speaker 2: Wow.
- 1:36Speaker 1: It was efficient and organized.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Yes, so you don't I'm just asking you. You didn't
- 1:42Speaker 2: go inside at all?
- 1:44Speaker 3: No?
- 1:44Speaker 1: Yeah, of course.
- 1:45Speaker 2: After well, you go up till you go park your car, yeah,
- 1:48Speaker 2: and then you go inside. Yeah.
- 1:49Speaker 1: So then Joe takes the truck and you had to
- 1:51Speaker 1: go park it at the at the stadium. But then
- 1:53Speaker 1: you can just take tracks back up. So that's a
- 1:57Speaker 1: picture of what the room looked like before we end
- 2:00Speaker 1: load it up. But you see those two big containers
- 2:02Speaker 1: with his stuff in it. They loaded everything in and
- 2:05Speaker 1: we just had to wheel it up to the room.
- 2:06Speaker 2: It was so nice that that's a platform bed.
- 2:10Speaker 1: Yeah, so you have the bed and then you can
- 2:12Speaker 1: have a desk under you climb up. Yeah. No, that
- 2:17Speaker 1: that is fun.
- 2:18Speaker 2: I hate that. I prefer to fall into bed, not
- 2:22Speaker 2: climb into bed.
- 2:23Speaker 1: And that's why there's a railing there so you don't.
- 2:25Speaker 2: Fall out of the bed and I would I'd find
- 2:29Speaker 2: a way to fly over the top of that.
- 2:34Speaker 1: He has four right, it's it's a it's it's a
- 2:39Speaker 1: big it's a loft. It's a big loft that they
- 2:42Speaker 1: are all in. You can tell the ceilings are kind
- 2:45Speaker 1: of uh huh. Yeah, they all have the same setup.
- 2:49Speaker 1: You got a little wardrobe there and then your desk
- 2:51Speaker 1: under your bed and uh but yeah do you whatever
- 2:56Speaker 1: you you did, whatever meeting you had any many for
- 3:00Speaker 1: uh So this loft. So this is kind of funny
- 3:05Speaker 1: that this is upper class housing. So they're technically not
- 3:10Speaker 1: supposed to be there, but they are. What do you mean,
- 3:14Speaker 1: like for like seniors, So it is it's an apartment.
- 3:18Speaker 1: They have a full kitchen, stove, full sized fridge. It's
- 3:23Speaker 1: it's crazy big.
- 3:25Speaker 2: So the Mexican restaurant open yet.
- 3:27Speaker 1: Yeah, but you get that they were given away guacamole.
- 3:31Speaker 1: That's the other thing they had for opening day. They
- 3:33Speaker 1: had ice cream, taco trucks, dirty soda trucks. I mean no,
- 3:41Speaker 1: but while the kids got little like coupon things where
- 3:44Speaker 1: they could.
- 3:44Speaker 2: But because this has got to cost, you know, thousands
- 3:47Speaker 2: of dollars a year.
- 3:49Speaker 1: They had a truck there a barber truck where you
- 3:53Speaker 1: could go get a haircut.
- 3:54Speaker 4: Wow, just you know, you get.
- 3:56Speaker 1: To school you want to. But so we're unloading mohammitted
- 4:00Speaker 1: stuff and putting his room together, and Jonesy is moving
- 4:06Speaker 1: into her apartment on the same day, which is not ideal.
- 4:10Speaker 2: But moving off campus.
- 4:12Speaker 1: She's off campus, but it's sort of student housing.
- 4:15Speaker 2: It's not like the you but it's like when I
- 4:19Speaker 2: was in graduate school, I lived in a little house
- 4:22Speaker 2: in a neighborhood, but it was all that a student houses.
- 4:26Speaker 1: So she's moving in and and her boyfriend's helping her move.
- 4:30Speaker 1: So that's so that's why we're not there helping her.
- 4:34Speaker 1: But she calls Joe, my husband, and says, the door
- 4:40Speaker 1: to my apartment doesn't close.
- 4:44Speaker 4: He said, what that could be a problem.
- 4:46Speaker 2: She's going to live there by herself.
- 4:49Speaker 1: Uh yeah, So so the door to my apartment doesn't close,
- 4:54Speaker 1: and we're like, well, that's not okay. So this is
- 4:57Speaker 1: a building that had been renovated and whatever the renovational she.
- 5:00Speaker 2: Knows how doors work, right, Yeah, okay.
- 5:03Speaker 1: So Joe's like, I guess I'm going to leave and
- 5:05Speaker 1: go go fix the door tools well, or say insist
- 5:11Speaker 1: that the management of the building fixed the door, like
- 5:16Speaker 1: you're asking this girl to move into as sir, So
- 5:22Speaker 1: he had to leave and go help her. They actually
- 5:24Speaker 1: ended up moving her to a different apartment because the
- 5:28Speaker 1: door it was, yeah, we can't, we can't stay here.
- 5:32Speaker 1: It was that bad.
- 5:33Speaker 2: It will have to nail this shut. Yeah.
- 5:36Speaker 1: But so getting her settled and then back over to
- 5:39Speaker 1: to and for Muhammed, we had to go to the
- 5:41Speaker 1: store because once she once you get there, you're like, oh,
- 5:44Speaker 1: we forgot this. And we had a box that was
- 5:48Speaker 1: sealed up that we were unpacking. And I looked at
- 5:51Speaker 1: the label on the box and it said, uh, bully sticks,
- 5:56Speaker 1: which I order and buy for my dog's okay, And
- 5:59Speaker 1: I'm like, why is this box here? And and Muhammad's like.
- 6:04Speaker 2: A secret on them secretly It's.
- 6:07Speaker 1: Like me, I must have grabbed it accidentally, like oh, well, okay,
- 6:11Speaker 1: we gotta take that back home.
- 6:13Speaker 2: Then you caught him and that too.
- 6:15Speaker 1: Oh. But then as we're unpacking, we're like, uh, He's like,
- 6:21Speaker 1: he said, I can't find my shoes. Where's the box
- 6:24Speaker 1: that has my shoes? Maybe you left it at home?
- 6:27Speaker 1: So we we drive home. No, the box of shoes
- 6:31Speaker 1: isn't at home and I said, Mohammed, cout that box
- 6:35Speaker 1: that says bully sticks on it. Maybe it was an
- 6:37Speaker 1: old box that you packed your shoes in.
- 6:40Speaker 2: And then oh yeah.
- 6:41Speaker 1: So he called his roommate. He's like, could you open
- 6:44Speaker 1: that box and tell me what's in it?
- 6:46Speaker 2: Oh? Yeah.
- 6:46Speaker 1: So that was about forty five minutes of running around them.
- 6:49Speaker 2: Wait a minute, left you thought there were bully sticks
- 6:52Speaker 2: in it and you left them there?
- 6:54Speaker 1: Well, I mean the reason we did is because we
- 6:58Speaker 1: had to take tracks back in fourth to the car.
- 7:01Speaker 1: We didn't want to, like, it was a big box,
- 7:03Speaker 1: we didn't want to carry that on that rack.
- 7:06Speaker 2: I think it's probably like the roommate was smart enough.
- 7:09Speaker 2: He opened it up and went I saw that it
- 7:12Speaker 2: was bully sticks and went, yeah, there's shoes there. Shoes
- 7:14Speaker 2: are in here.
- 7:15Speaker 1: But we so we tugged him and said goodbye and
- 7:19Speaker 1: said you're gonna have a great year. And we go
- 7:21Speaker 1: home and I and I go down to his room
- 7:25Speaker 1: and I'm thinking it's probably gonna be a disaster, Like
- 7:28Speaker 1: you know, he just packed up stuff, and it's, oh,
- 7:31Speaker 1: this is not my room anymore. Right afterwards, he had
- 7:34Speaker 1: immaculately cleaned his room and he took his baby blanket
- 7:42Speaker 1: and folded it very neatly and left it sitting on
- 7:46Speaker 1: his pillow. And I just about why, why.
- 7:50Speaker 2: Why didn't he take his baby blanket with him? He
- 7:53Speaker 2: took his little stuff, He.
- 7:54Speaker 1: Took his Oh there's the ram if you get h
- 7:56Speaker 1: ninety six dot com slash live, there's his stuff.
- 7:58Speaker 2: Take his baby blanket too, so they could make double
- 8:02Speaker 2: fun of him.
- 8:04Speaker 1: But he left his baby blanket at home but folded
- 8:06Speaker 1: up neatly on his bed.
- 8:08Speaker 2: And and this is this is your your ten minutes
- 8:12Speaker 2: at the most away. Yeah, it's like it's not like.
- 8:17Speaker 1: No, I didn't know, but I'm not gonna he's gonna
- 8:20Speaker 1: be busy. I'm not going to see him. I never
- 8:22Speaker 1: saw him when he was home.
- 8:23Speaker 2: So what's the difference then, No, it's.
- 8:25Speaker 1: It is different. And then we go home and it's
- 8:28Speaker 1: just Joe and I all of my kids, three of
- 8:30Speaker 1: them up out, and you.
- 8:33Speaker 2: Guys have exhausted all the conversations you've want to have.
- 8:35Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely, so it was so the baby blanket being
- 8:43Speaker 3: left behind symbolic, Yes, exactly.
- 8:46Speaker 4: Also back to the room. Yes, four roommates.
- 8:50Speaker 3: Yeah, well there's four, three of them, so four total
- 8:54Speaker 3: plush you have to climb to get into that.
- 8:56Speaker 4: Yes, that's discouraging sex, is what that is.
- 8:58Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, that's that's good point.
- 9:01Speaker 1: All that is.
- 9:03Speaker 2: Well, I mean you got and all the beds are
- 9:05Speaker 2: in the same room.
- 9:07Speaker 1: There's no privacy.
- 9:08Speaker 2: You've got to arrange. Well, you've got to arrange, you know,
- 9:11Speaker 2: you put you put a clothes hanger on the door
- 9:14Speaker 2: and say you can't come in while the clothes hangers
- 9:16Speaker 2: on the door.
- 9:18Speaker 4: What if I had a sea pat machine, There's just
- 9:20Speaker 4: no place for it.
- 9:22Speaker 2: That's true.
- 9:23Speaker 1: Machines make it to There's a lot of there might be,
- 9:28Speaker 1: might
- 9:28Speaker 4: Be, there might be
