- 0:00Speaker 1: I'll start Toyota Presents Off the Bench with Jacob Hester
- 0:04Speaker 1: and Matt Flynn.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Okay, here we go where.
- 0:06Speaker 1: The plays get broken down and science gets denied to
- 0:10Speaker 1: come off the bench. Hour two of Off the Bench
- 0:12Speaker 1: Live from downtown. Baton Rouge starts now, all right.
- 0:52Speaker 3: Welcome back again, Hour number two VOTH TV one oh
- 0:55Speaker 3: four five, ESPN Baton Rouge, all right, number two.
- 1:02Speaker 2: Who do we think sabotage the video? Today?
- 1:07Speaker 3: We were joking about our boy, but he's the actual
- 1:10Speaker 3: only person that answered the phone, and he's on vacation.
- 1:12Speaker 2: So he answered the phone on an airplane. Nobody else
- 1:15Speaker 2: answering the phone.
- 1:16Speaker 4: Must about that uh airplane WiFi at eighteen dollars, he had.
- 1:20Speaker 5: Money like one flight to our land.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Yeah, it isn't.
- 1:25Speaker 3: Somebody trying to keep us off the top five. Maybe
- 1:29Speaker 3: in the top morning shows number seven seven?
- 1:33Speaker 2: You think it's Macro and Cubes, good Ben or.
- 1:36Speaker 3: Was it somebody else that used to be uh in
- 1:38Speaker 3: the foxhole that's starting a new morning show over on
- 1:41Speaker 3: FS one.
- 1:43Speaker 5: That seems likely.
- 1:44Speaker 3: Wow, debut show, first time we've had trouble getting on YouTube.
- 1:48Speaker 2: That's weird. Wow. A lot of people, a lot of
- 1:53Speaker 2: people believe in a lot of people. So I don't know.
- 1:59Speaker 2: We'll try to get on, but it feels like it's
- 2:01Speaker 2: an inside job.
- 2:03Speaker 5: It feels like Jordan's struggling right now.
- 2:06Speaker 4: Jordan's he's gonna need it. Yeah, he's gonna probably yeah.
- 2:12Speaker 4: Or two, you should probably go for dose.
- 2:14Speaker 2: This is unbelievable. I would go for dose.
- 2:16Speaker 4: How your stress level like if like scale one to ten,
- 2:20Speaker 4: like ten, like you're about to like die one eat chilling,
- 2:25Speaker 4: you're an eate. Definitely, that's closer to death than I
- 2:28Speaker 4: would have thought. It ain't worth it, bud Well, the
- 2:32Speaker 4: thing to be worth it?
- 2:34Speaker 6: Well, the thing is, I get it. You know it's radio,
- 2:36Speaker 6: that's not YouTube. But you know, you got we gotta
- 2:39Speaker 6: produce content, and we have a producing meeting after this,
- 2:41Speaker 6: so it's kind of.
- 2:42Speaker 3: Don't probably I believe Yeah, yes, I'll just say yes.
- 2:49Speaker 2: So I'll say yes.
- 2:51Speaker 6: You know, this is definitely not how I plan my
- 2:54Speaker 6: Wednesday to go, especially you know I showed up.
- 2:56Speaker 2: Ear you'll definitely get the blame.
- 2:59Speaker 6: I mean, it's it's sure, you know, I'm a man. Happens,
- 3:02Speaker 6: but it's just like this is this is ridiculous.
- 3:05Speaker 2: Are you though you're not that you know.
- 3:09Speaker 6: It's there's levels to it, you know, it's it's levels
- 3:12Speaker 6: to that you know you. I think that comes with
- 3:14Speaker 6: like become the sage. Yeah, I get older and older,
- 3:17Speaker 6: you know.
- 3:17Speaker 3: We just like saying Mike Gundy, I'm a man, I'm
- 3:19Speaker 3: forty up here, Hey.
- 3:20Speaker 6: My gandy upset Oregon. Let's get it, okay, let's go
- 3:23Speaker 6: all right.
- 3:24Speaker 5: I just like him to calm down because the.
- 3:26Speaker 2: Energy, hey, because you're good, it's making.
- 3:29Speaker 5: Me like, it's making me stressed.
- 3:31Speaker 2: This is not this is not the crew. It's gonna
- 3:34Speaker 2: yell at you or be mad at you. It is
- 3:36Speaker 2: what it is.
- 3:36Speaker 5: You feel the energy.
- 3:38Speaker 3: Listen, we have engineers that are supposed to fix issues
- 3:42Speaker 3: like this.
- 3:43Speaker 2: That's not on you. So you're good. You got I
- 3:46Speaker 2: want you to get that energy when we talk about
- 3:48Speaker 2: the Saints later.
- 3:49Speaker 6: On, hopefully we get you.
- 3:51Speaker 7: Baby's gonna fire me up. That's what I put on
- 3:58Speaker 7: my bullet points in the dog release j T. Gray,
- 4:01Speaker 7: I guess who cares does nothing for me?
- 4:04Speaker 2: What even.
- 4:07Speaker 3: That?
- 4:07Speaker 2: Okay?
- 4:08Speaker 3: That is like we talked about yesterday, so they do
- 4:10Speaker 3: you know, move on from an All Pro Special Team's
- 4:12Speaker 3: ward Daddy in JT.
- 4:13Speaker 2: Gray and they left that spot open.
- 4:16Speaker 3: So it's like, Okay, well I hate it, but it's
- 4:18Speaker 3: gonna be a roster decision.
- 4:19Speaker 2: They feel like they need another body.
- 4:21Speaker 3: Somewhere, they need a you know, maybe they need another corner,
- 4:25Speaker 3: maybe they want an extra tight end for whatever it
- 4:28Speaker 3: might be.
- 4:29Speaker 2: No, it was just for ja Caner to be.
- 4:30Speaker 3: Elevated from the practice squad back to the active roster.
- 4:33Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a bizarre move. It's a bizarre move.
- 4:36Speaker 4: I'd like to hear like fly on the wall on
- 4:38Speaker 4: the conversation that has had about it, because I mean,
- 4:41Speaker 4: he went through waivers right, so he was either I
- 4:47Speaker 4: don't even know what could have happened because he passed
- 4:50Speaker 4: through waivers on the practice squad and you decide to
- 4:53Speaker 4: elevate him for what reason In particular, I don't understand
- 4:57Speaker 4: the move or the decision has to be something. I
- 5:01Speaker 4: would like to give the Saints the benefit of the
- 5:03Speaker 4: doubt that there was an actual, stable, good, decent reasoning
- 5:08Speaker 4: behind the move. But there's not from the cuff, looking
- 5:12Speaker 4: like not being on the inside, there is not because
- 5:15Speaker 4: you just don't do that, like you and we kind
- 5:19Speaker 4: of we talked about J. T. Gray being released yesterday,
- 5:23Speaker 4: but with the understanding of giving the Saints the benefit
- 5:25Speaker 4: of the doubt of saying, all right, well, they had
- 5:28Speaker 4: an extra linebacker, extra offensive line and extra dB.
- 5:31Speaker 2: Like okay, fine, you get it, we get it.
- 5:34Speaker 4: It's you'd rather have a guy in there that has
- 5:36Speaker 4: a potential of playing twenty twenty five plays than a
- 5:39Speaker 4: guy that's a special team's guy.
- 5:41Speaker 2: Okay, that's a tough decision to make.
- 5:42Speaker 4: You made it, whatever, but you don't do it for
- 5:45Speaker 4: a third quarterback that had passed through waivers. So he
- 5:48Speaker 4: was not a threat from what we know, at least
- 5:50Speaker 4: a threat to go to a different roster or to
- 5:53Speaker 4: leave you.
- 5:54Speaker 6: Literally, I mean, it's it's crazy. But at the same time,
- 5:58Speaker 6: you know a lot of people, oh, boy's a special
- 6:00Speaker 6: teamer who cares and all it is.
- 6:01Speaker 3: But it's like there's a something between like a special
- 6:05Speaker 3: teamer and a core for war Daddy that's an All
- 6:08Speaker 3: Pro All Pro three times. Yeah, So like if you
- 6:12Speaker 3: move on from him, I can make the math work
- 6:16Speaker 3: if you say, like Matt said, we need this guy
- 6:20Speaker 3: that can play fifteen snaps on offensive defense and some
- 6:23Speaker 3: special teams because right now where our roster is, we
- 6:26Speaker 3: need that body in there on you know, the All
- 6:32Speaker 3: twenty two either offense or defense, right or the option, Like, yeah,
- 6:36Speaker 3: the option too.
- 6:37Speaker 4: The guy, you know, one of our starter, our two
- 6:39Speaker 4: deep guys got he's working through the little spring to
- 6:41Speaker 4: anchor right now, Like just in case, if you could
- 6:44Speaker 4: justify this move in so many ways. There's so many
- 6:48Speaker 4: scenarios in which you can justify releasing a special teams guy,
- 6:52Speaker 4: even if he is a core war daddy pro bowler
- 6:55Speaker 4: type guy. There's a lot of ways you can justify this.
- 6:58Speaker 4: Certainly is not one of them. And I get it.
- 7:00Speaker 4: Jay Caneer is probably in this place where he's gonna
- 7:03Speaker 4: be up and down, up and down. They're gonna do
- 7:06Speaker 4: roster roster gymnastics, and maybe like we're not seeing I
- 7:09Speaker 4: hope we're not seeing this the entire picture here. But
- 7:13Speaker 4: like God Saints, I'm trying. I am trying so hard
- 7:17Speaker 4: right now to to cheer for you, give you the
- 7:21Speaker 4: benefit of the doubt, to cheer for Kelly Moore, who
- 7:23Speaker 4: I think is a great coach, like to do.
- 7:25Speaker 2: All that stuff.
- 7:25Speaker 4: I'm trying so hard to be a fan. You're just
- 7:28Speaker 4: making it difficult right this second. I just don't understand it.
- 7:32Speaker 4: Maybe give us some sort of good reasoning. Tell the
- 7:35Speaker 4: tell the people, get your fans like behind you a
- 7:37Speaker 4: little bit, at least give them some nuggets, like, tell them,
- 7:41Speaker 4: this is the decision we made, This is why we
- 7:43Speaker 4: made the decision. And it can't just be because we
- 7:46Speaker 4: needed Jay Cayner on the active roster when we had
- 7:48Speaker 4: them clear waivers and on the practice squad. That can't
- 7:52Speaker 4: be the reason. What do you think?
- 7:56Speaker 2: I don't. I don't.
- 7:57Speaker 3: I don't have in my mind like I'm trying to
- 8:00Speaker 3: get the Rubik's cube to.
- 8:03Speaker 2: Keep turning, trying.
- 8:05Speaker 3: I just don't know that I could ever get there
- 8:07Speaker 3: and for this one to make sense to me.
- 8:10Speaker 4: See if it's Cam Jordan's, if you're having Kamar, what
- 8:13Speaker 4: is your thoughts? Like, how do you justify that to them?
- 8:17Speaker 3: Oh?
- 8:18Speaker 6: I mean they were mad? I mean was on Twitter, Yeah,
- 8:20Speaker 6: he was like what is going on? I mean, Tyren
- 8:22Speaker 6: Matthew coming from the top rope. See, but that's the problem.
- 8:25Speaker 2: Guys.
- 8:25Speaker 6: You're trying to put yourself in a mind frame where
- 8:27Speaker 6: you're understanding Mickey Loomis.
- 8:29Speaker 2: The same man.
- 8:30Speaker 6: Doesn't That doesn't happen. You guys have a brain that
- 8:33Speaker 6: does not gonna work. You're not gonna be able to
- 8:34Speaker 6: understand what Micky's doing, because nobody understands what Micky's doing.
- 8:37Speaker 6: So that's the that's the problem. You can't even put yourself,
- 8:39Speaker 6: I think in that type of state of hosts is
- 8:41Speaker 6: you're probably involved in this.
- 8:41Speaker 2: One too, though, do you think so? I don't have
- 8:44Speaker 2: no idea.
- 8:44Speaker 4: I believe that the coaches might not be involved at all.
- 8:49Speaker 4: Why else was everybody turned down the job? Nobody wanted
- 8:55Speaker 4: a job? Why because maybe there's a stipulation that you
- 8:58Speaker 4: ain't got no say yeah, which the people I put
- 9:01Speaker 4: on the roster, Like maybe maybe I believe it.
- 9:07Speaker 2: This one helps me.
- 9:08Speaker 3: There was a quarterback competition and it was two people,
- 9:13Speaker 3: like I started out as three and we were like,
- 9:15Speaker 3: why are you doing that? But it was two people
- 9:17Speaker 3: shuck and it was rattler Right, So those two are
- 9:20Speaker 3: still on the roster. You had Jake on the practice squad.
- 9:23Speaker 3: He's your emergency quarterback? Why elevated? Like for what reason?
- 9:29Speaker 3: Like even if he's.
- 9:31Speaker 4: The only thing I can think of maybe a justification
- 9:34Speaker 4: is if he's on practice squad and like another team
- 9:36Speaker 4: can offer to take you on their active roster even
- 9:39Speaker 4: if you're on the practice squad.
- 9:40Speaker 3: Maybe he got an offer, but and that happened a lot.
- 9:42Speaker 3: We appreciate your time here. And that happened a lot
- 9:44Speaker 3: when I was It happened to when I was in
- 9:46Speaker 3: Green Bay. Happened to Graham Harrell.
- 9:47Speaker 4: He was on the practice squad and he got someone
- 9:49Speaker 4: wanted to pick him up on the active roster because
- 9:51Speaker 4: they had an injury.
- 9:52Speaker 2: Well, green Bay of the option to match keep him.
- 9:55Speaker 4: On practice squad, but matched the salary that they were
- 9:58Speaker 4: like the rookie minimum for an active roster guy. Like
- 10:01Speaker 4: maybe that happened and they had to activate him or
- 10:05Speaker 4: he was leaving post Ellinger, So what so what if
- 10:09Speaker 4: he leaves, Like there's yeah, and so to me to
- 10:14Speaker 4: justify that, how do you justify that to your veterans.
- 10:17Speaker 2: That have been so loyal?
- 10:19Speaker 4: I was like, I was, I was cussing that Kamara
- 10:22Speaker 4: a couple of years ago when he signed his contract extension,
- 10:24Speaker 4: Like what are you doing?
- 10:27Speaker 2: Free yourself? Fly go fly go.
- 10:33Speaker 4: In a ring go contend, Like the situation that he
- 10:37Speaker 4: re signed into was not good and it doesn't seem
- 10:42Speaker 4: to be getting any better. And I know, maybe we're
- 10:44Speaker 4: making like way too much of this this cut, but
- 10:49Speaker 4: the justification on it is embarrassing.
- 10:52Speaker 2: Yep. And I'm trying. I want to be a man.
- 10:54Speaker 4: I want to cheer, I want to like, I want
- 10:56Speaker 4: to wax poetically about how hard the effort they did.
- 10:59Speaker 4: But there's the stupid things really set me off.
- 11:03Speaker 3: And this is and then you upset your veteran players
- 11:05Speaker 3: like you said that have been so loyal to you,
- 11:06Speaker 3: even ones that like Tyron who retired, but still Tyron
- 11:10Speaker 3: knows what JT meant to the locker room. And again,
- 11:14Speaker 3: like I can make the math work if you say, hey, yeah,
- 11:18Speaker 3: last thing we wanted to do, but look, we're really
- 11:21Speaker 3: banged up it tight end, and we had to have
- 11:25Speaker 3: another guy available because even our second tight end he's
- 11:28Speaker 3: got like a little ankle deal, and it's like if
- 11:30Speaker 3: he goes down, man, we're a lot of twelve personnel
- 11:32Speaker 3: we're gonna be We're gonna be really in the dark here,
- 11:34Speaker 3: Like you don't love it, but you understand it.
- 11:38Speaker 2: This one you hate and you can't make me understand it.
- 11:41Speaker 2: Mm hmm.
- 11:42Speaker 4: Hey, what's we said yesterday? We kind of like said,
- 11:44Speaker 4: well yesterday talking about j T. Graby release was like
- 11:47Speaker 4: now that sucks, but like sure, I get it. I
- 11:50Speaker 4: thought it was gonna be the situation benefit of the doubt,
- 11:52Speaker 4: all right, but this is there's no explanation to this,
- 11:55Speaker 4: and maybe we're just not.
- 11:55Speaker 2: Smart enough to see it.
- 11:57Speaker 4: No, maybe we just can't see behind the behind the curtain.
- 12:00Speaker 4: How the sausage is made, Well, it doesn't really matter
- 12:05Speaker 4: how the sausage is made if the sausage ain't good, right, No.
- 12:08Speaker 6: But y'all are spot on, like nobody would care if
- 12:10Speaker 6: they're actually brought in some top of any any position,
- 12:14Speaker 6: any position players. I promise you would have been like, okay,
- 12:16Speaker 6: well we can say that. But bringing in QB three,
- 12:20Speaker 6: like you said, who passed waivers, so it wasn't like
- 12:22Speaker 6: he was a top priority. When it's like even if
- 12:24Speaker 6: Raler does so, you're like you thank Raler and Schuck
- 12:27Speaker 6: are just gonna just explode and the hangter is about
- 12:31Speaker 6: to come in. I don't understand that move.
- 12:33Speaker 4: At all, unless unless they're not telling you something and
- 12:36Speaker 4: like Shuck is fighting the shoulder injury or something.
- 12:39Speaker 2: I don't I don't know, just trying. We're trying. We're
- 12:43Speaker 2: trying people like we're trying to justify.
- 12:45Speaker 6: Like what else could you say that you're you're gonna
- 12:48Speaker 6: need a QB three off the practice squad Week one.
- 12:52Speaker 2: Hey, I still got the sayings to win this week.
- 12:54Speaker 6: You know, y'all y'all played the NFL. You know after
- 12:56Speaker 6: Week one, like that's the this the healthies' gonna be
- 12:58Speaker 6: all year right now. You don't need QB three. You
- 13:01Speaker 6: don't need a QB three right now. That's just my opinion.
- 13:06Speaker 6: We'll see how it goes. But hey, Mickey Loomis, well
- 13:09Speaker 6: we'll just see, you know, We'll let it play out.
- 13:11Speaker 6: We'll let the cars fall what they make.
- 13:13Speaker 4: I justify it again, another justification potential. All right, They
- 13:18Speaker 4: thought that maybe at some point this season they would
- 13:20Speaker 4: need j Caner as a three per an injury or
- 13:23Speaker 4: something like that, because the offensive line was okay, and
- 13:26Speaker 4: they wanted to give j T a great to get
- 13:27Speaker 4: on with another team right now. So they just went
- 13:29Speaker 4: ahead and ripped the band off.
- 13:31Speaker 3: So you think this is this is being a solid
- 13:33Speaker 3: good guy, Okay, good guys.
- 13:35Speaker 7: Also, if it's like how Nick kind of says, where
- 13:39Speaker 7: Spencer Rattler's QB one right now? But who knows, maybe
- 13:42Speaker 7: Tyler Shank ended up being QB one.
- 13:44Speaker 5: Wait did you say sorry, I'm getting texted. I don't
- 13:46Speaker 5: know if you already said this, I couldn't.
- 13:47Speaker 7: Okay, Like, maybe in another justification in the Saints head
- 13:52Speaker 7: they've got one QB one in the form of two people, so.
- 13:56Speaker 5: Maybe they they need a QB two and J.
- 13:59Speaker 7: Cayner is actually the QB two and Spencer Ratlery and
- 14:02Speaker 7: Tyler Schuck are.
- 14:02Speaker 4: Both Yeah, Nick, list, I asked you a question yesterday
- 14:06Speaker 4: about Spencer Rattler and all you talked about was shuck
- 14:08Speaker 4: the whole time, so.
- 14:10Speaker 5: That wasn't going there.
- 14:11Speaker 3: But come on, Nick, all right, all right, let's uh,
- 14:16Speaker 3: let's let's get away from this because we're only going
- 14:18Speaker 3: to continue to make ourselves more angry. We are going
- 14:22Speaker 3: to have doctor Stephen Ethridge join us in the next break.
- 14:25Speaker 3: I always look forward to having him in studio with us,
- 14:29Speaker 3: and uh, we'll break down any Saints injuries or any
- 14:32Speaker 3: injuries Michael Parsons. Yeah, right now, he's got an injury
- 14:36Speaker 3: that we'll ask doctor Stephen at Thridgabatan.
- 14:38Speaker 2: We'll do it when we come back here on o
- 14:40Speaker 2: t beat off the bench. All right.
- 14:44Speaker 3: If your business is still fighting with printers and copiers
- 14:48Speaker 3: that don't work, when you need them to or maybe

- 16:26Speaker 8: I brought the juice to nobody.
- 16:28Speaker 2: This is it? You know? You know all right, you're
- 16:29Speaker 2: getting defensive.
- 16:31Speaker 3: No, because we each get to go around, we get
- 16:35Speaker 3: to choose our song.
- 16:37Speaker 2: This is mine, not yours. I got it. I can
- 16:40Speaker 2: give my opinion and give the song. I love this song,
- 16:45Speaker 2: even when it has a mystery mad.
- 16:46Speaker 4: You were just trying to like chill everybody out after
- 16:49Speaker 4: our Saints stock.
- 16:50Speaker 2: I get it. That's what I like to do for
- 16:52Speaker 2: the game, doc.
- 16:53Speaker 3: I like to so I'd always listening to, you know,
- 16:56Speaker 3: different music coming down the hill. And then once I
- 16:58Speaker 3: got back in pregame, it was like a little woosa,
- 17:01Speaker 3: like I wanted to chill out, clear mind, clear head
- 17:03Speaker 3: before I went out there and got a little crazy
- 17:04Speaker 3: for sixty minutes.
- 17:05Speaker 2: You know, they gotta flush it out. Has anybody ever
- 17:07Speaker 2: heard this song? Nobody gives a damn if you've ever
- 17:11Speaker 2: heard it. You didn't hear the Nelly song that we
- 17:13Speaker 2: played earlier.
- 17:14Speaker 5: Yes, you've heard the song, Yeah, thank you. It's pretty popular.
- 17:19Speaker 2: Popular.
- 17:21Speaker 5: You don't listen to John Mayer ever, you.
- 17:23Speaker 2: Didn't know nell I thought out a little bit earlier,
- 17:27Speaker 2: so your music taste. You know what I'm doing to you.
- 17:29Speaker 3: Mute Hey, Dr Etherich, We appreciate your time as always
- 17:33Speaker 3: a big weekend for you, LSU Tigers, Florida State Seminoles,
- 17:36Speaker 3: big dubs.
- 17:38Speaker 9: Yeah, I'm still on cloud nine. I'm not gonna lie.
- 17:39Speaker 9: I'm gonna ride this one as long as I.
- 17:43Speaker 2: So he had a couple more days.
- 17:44Speaker 3: Dr Adwerds played football at Florida State and team doctor
- 17:48Speaker 3: here at LSU. So both his loves got big victories
- 17:51Speaker 3: over some pretty big teams, Florida State beating Alabama, LSU
- 17:55Speaker 3: beating Clemson.
- 17:56Speaker 2: So we're always appreciative to have him in here with
- 18:00Speaker 2: us in studio.
- 18:01Speaker 3: And I've got a couple of injuries that will go
- 18:03Speaker 3: over that could affect Week one in the NFL. And
- 18:08Speaker 3: you mentioned the Michael Parsons stuff, and obviously you know
- 18:11Speaker 3: this guy next to you is paying attention to that one.
- 18:13Speaker 3: He's hoping he's coming off the edge like a bat
- 18:15Speaker 3: out of hell for the Green Bay packers, and it's
- 18:18Speaker 3: always when somebody gets traded and they have an injury.
- 18:22Speaker 3: I guess it's always kind of like, okay, well, how
- 18:24Speaker 3: much do you truly know? Like I know, you know,
- 18:27Speaker 3: you know team doctors in the NFL when somebody gets
- 18:30Speaker 3: traded like that, like what is that physical exam like
- 18:33Speaker 3: once they get to you.
- 18:35Speaker 9: Yeah, the whole process, I guess that's a whole discussion
- 18:38Speaker 9: with with any league, but especially the NFL with the
- 18:40Speaker 9: injuries are such a big part of it. And you know,
- 18:42Speaker 9: there's some very historically famous cases. Probably the biggest one
- 18:45Speaker 9: around here is the whole Drew Brees saga where yeah,
- 18:47Speaker 9: you know, you have to make a decision, and if
- 18:49Speaker 9: you don't want to be under the fire, you never
- 18:51Speaker 9: want to be the guy that clears somebody who's not
- 18:53Speaker 9: gonna be able to play, But you also want me
- 18:55Speaker 9: on the other side of that and say, hey, I
- 18:56Speaker 9: can't clear this guy.
- 18:57Speaker 10: So it's really tough, you know.
- 18:59Speaker 9: You know, that's that's that's you talk about a long
- 19:01Speaker 9: story how it affected a lot of things around here.
- 19:03Speaker 9: And so yeah, if the Michael Parsons wants a back injury,
- 19:07Speaker 9: you know, I believe they said it was a set
- 19:08Speaker 9: injury at L four L five, And those are common
- 19:11Speaker 9: injuries in the one hand, but man, backs are scary,
- 19:13Speaker 9: I'll tell you, probably more than any part of the body.
- 19:15Speaker 9: For me, spine makes me nervous, only because you can
- 19:18Speaker 9: go so many ways and you think people are progressing.
- 19:20Speaker 2: You think, oh, this is.
- 19:21Speaker 9: Going to get better in a week, this is going
- 19:22Speaker 9: to be whatever, and then sometimes it doesn't go that way.
- 19:25Speaker 2: They can be hard to predict.
- 19:26Speaker 9: And then although with the issue there there's obviously other
- 19:28Speaker 9: motivating factors. Was there an injury, Was it just wanting
- 19:31Speaker 9: to get his contract? You know, that's a whole different
- 19:33Speaker 9: discussion as well.
- 19:33Speaker 4: But well, tell us what that actually means that L
- 19:36Speaker 4: four L five facet joint spring?
- 19:39Speaker 2: What does that act? Is it inflammation? Is it a
- 19:42Speaker 2: nerve thing?
- 19:43Speaker 3: Like?
- 19:43Speaker 4: What does that actually mean to the player when they're like, okay,
- 19:47Speaker 4: well all right, all right, dot, I got a joint spring,
- 19:50Speaker 4: facet joint sprain?
- 19:51Speaker 2: What is that? So?
- 19:52Speaker 9: So it is mostly an inflammatory process. So the set
- 19:55Speaker 9: joints of these joints, if you ever looked at the
- 19:57Speaker 9: picture of a vertebrae, you've got the body, which is
- 20:00Speaker 9: that circular portion of the bone that kind of stacks
- 20:03Speaker 9: on top of the disks between that, but then the
- 20:05Speaker 9: portion that kind of protrudes out towards your back. So
- 20:08Speaker 9: those kind of bumps you feel on your back, you know,
- 20:10Speaker 9: those are what are called your spinus processes. And at
- 20:12Speaker 9: each level, each vertebrae has a joint with the vertebrae
- 20:16Speaker 9: above and below behind the spine, and that's what the
- 20:18Speaker 9: THEA sets are. So it's that little projection off the
- 20:20Speaker 9: back of the spine, you know. And it is a
- 20:22Speaker 9: joint just like your knee. It's got a synovial fluid
- 20:26Speaker 9: inside it, it's got a capsule that's around it, so
- 20:28Speaker 9: it's just like any other joint in the body, and
- 20:30Speaker 9: it allows.
- 20:30Speaker 2: You to twist and turn and bend.
- 20:32Speaker 9: But the problem is when you twist and turn and bend,
- 20:34Speaker 9: it also puts a lot of stress on that joint.
- 20:36Speaker 9: And if that joint gets inflamed, as you can imagine,
- 20:39Speaker 9: every time you arch your back, every time you twist,
- 20:42Speaker 9: every time you do a certain movement, it can be
- 20:44Speaker 9: really to the point debilitating pain, or it can also
- 20:47Speaker 9: be a mild nuisance and really anything in between.
- 20:50Speaker 4: Is it one of Is it a situation to where
- 20:52Speaker 4: like because they're talking about an injection for before the game,
- 20:55Speaker 4: and I would assume I got we got injections. You know,
- 20:59Speaker 4: we've got the quarters and the light whatever it is
- 21:02Speaker 4: to help fix that. But is the injection something that
- 21:05Speaker 4: is just there as an anti inflammatory.
- 21:09Speaker 9: Most of the times, yes, you know, most of the times,
- 21:11Speaker 9: what we're talking about the common treatments, you know, mild cases,
- 21:14Speaker 9: maybe some therapy, maybe an anti inflammatory medication and ibuprofen
- 21:18Speaker 9: or maybe a prescription version of that. And then you
- 21:20Speaker 9: kind of move into the injections after that. And these
- 21:22Speaker 9: are typically like you're kind of like your e SI
- 21:24Speaker 9: type injections. These are ones that you need to do
- 21:26Speaker 9: in advance. So it's not necessarily one we would do
- 21:28Speaker 9: on a game day. It's one you would go, you know,
- 21:30Speaker 9: several days or even weeks in advance, and you know
- 21:32Speaker 9: these are done under radiographic guidance. You know, oftentimes you're
- 21:34Speaker 9: put to sleep for these because they have to get
- 21:36Speaker 9: into that small space and when you're working around the spine,
- 21:39Speaker 9: you know, the difference of millimeters can be significant, so
- 21:41Speaker 9: you want to make sure the needle goes right in
- 21:43Speaker 9: the right spot. So as usually a cort zone shot
- 21:45Speaker 9: usually something to calm down the inflammation, and again the
- 21:47Speaker 9: information goes away.
- 21:49Speaker 2: Problem is usually solved.
- 21:51Speaker 9: There are other treatments, and the severe into that being
- 21:53Speaker 9: surgical treatments. You know, we talked about some of these
- 21:55Speaker 9: other biological conjections last week. Sometimes in some scenarios you
- 21:58Speaker 9: would use that, but the most common is just an
- 22:00Speaker 9: anti inflammatory trying to get it to settle down.
- 22:04Speaker 3: So we're looking at the New Orleans Saints for this
- 22:07Speaker 3: week and they've got a lot of guys with like
- 22:09Speaker 3: some you know, muscle strains and some of those nagging
- 22:12Speaker 3: just injuries, groins, ham strings, like when you're like you're
- 22:16Speaker 3: going out there and you're trying to test that pregame
- 22:19Speaker 3: because I'm sure all these guys canna be game time decisions.
- 22:21Speaker 3: I bet they get to the stadium three and a
- 22:23Speaker 3: half four hours early, and they're all when you have
- 22:26Speaker 3: like those when you have ham strings and when you
- 22:27Speaker 3: have groins, like, what are you looking for in that
- 22:30Speaker 3: pregame kind of warm up to see if they can go?
- 22:32Speaker 9: Yeah, So a lot of it you got to listen
- 22:33Speaker 9: to the athlete. You know, a lot of this is
- 22:35Speaker 9: we have to have good communication, and this is where
- 22:36Speaker 9: the relationships you have not only a position, but even
- 22:39Speaker 9: more so, this is when we really rely heavily on
- 22:41Speaker 9: our athletic trainers because you know, they're the staff that's
- 22:43Speaker 9: they're the boots in the ground, they're the ones that
- 22:44Speaker 9: are putting in the hours.
- 22:45Speaker 2: They know these guys.
- 22:46Speaker 10: So usually it starts with just.
- 22:48Speaker 9: Doing some basic drills. You might have them even go
- 22:49Speaker 9: out there with one of their trainers. You know, a
- 22:51Speaker 9: lot of times you have specific trainers working with the
- 22:54Speaker 9: offense or defense or the position groups, So.
- 22:56Speaker 10: That's usually where it starts.
- 22:57Speaker 9: They'll go out there, they'll have them kind of warm
- 22:59Speaker 9: up and start off doing something and simple, and then
- 23:01Speaker 9: you build to what they would do in the game.
- 23:02Speaker 9: You know, if it's in a linement, you're going to
- 23:03Speaker 9: have him get out of his stands, You're going to
- 23:04Speaker 9: have him do his kicksteps, You're going to have him
- 23:06Speaker 9: kind of lock up on a pad.
- 23:07Speaker 2: Whatever we have to do to see if he can go.
- 23:09Speaker 9: You know, if it's a wide receiver, we want to
- 23:10Speaker 9: see that he can accelerate out, can he get to
- 23:12Speaker 9: full speeding. If he starts feeling that hamstring, for example, catching,
- 23:15Speaker 9: you know, then we probably aren't gonna want to go
- 23:17Speaker 9: because A, we don't want to get hurt more.
- 23:19Speaker 2: That's the first and foremost priority. But then b you
- 23:21Speaker 2: want performance.
- 23:22Speaker 9: And if you can't go one hundred percent, if you're
- 23:25Speaker 9: going at eighty percent speed, then you're probably not going
- 23:27Speaker 9: to be a beneficial player in most circumstances.
- 23:30Speaker 4: DOC when somebody in a game, we always see the
- 23:33Speaker 4: player go down, we see the doctors, the trainers rush to,
- 23:37Speaker 4: and we see you a lot out there.
- 23:38Speaker 2: You get a lot of you get a lot of
- 23:39Speaker 2: screen time.
- 23:40Speaker 4: So when you go out there and you got somebody
- 23:42Speaker 4: laying and it might depend on like what body part
- 23:43Speaker 4: they're they're holding, or where you think the injury is.
- 23:46Speaker 4: What is like your go to what's the first thing
- 23:49Speaker 4: you say to a player when you run out there
- 23:51Speaker 4: and they're sitting there injured.
- 23:53Speaker 9: Well, you know, hopefully hopefully not seeing too much of
- 23:55Speaker 9: me In most games, we don't like that, but you know,
- 23:59Speaker 9: I think it depends on the player too, to be
- 24:00Speaker 9: honest with you, you know, And how serious is it
- 24:02Speaker 9: when we first go out there. I mean, if it's
- 24:03Speaker 9: a real serious situation, obviously my tone, my attitude is
- 24:06Speaker 9: gonna be very different.
- 24:07Speaker 10: Sometimes you get out there and you realize, hey.
- 24:08Speaker 9: This guy's probably okay, he's maybe you know, you got
- 24:11Speaker 9: to based on what they look and then you might
- 24:12Speaker 9: even kind kind of crack a joke or something, or
- 24:14Speaker 9: you know, make a fun of what happened on the play.
- 24:16Speaker 9: You know, you want to get the guy's spirits better.
- 24:18Speaker 9: But in the serious situation, you know, you're starting with
- 24:19Speaker 9: the basics like, hey, are you okay? I mean, I
- 24:21Speaker 9: know that's kind of a generic question, but you know,
- 24:23Speaker 9: are you okay?
- 24:24Speaker 2: What happened? What did you feel?
- 24:26Speaker 9: We're trying to quickly assess on the field, that's kind
- 24:28Speaker 9: of the triage. You know, is this something where we
- 24:30Speaker 9: need to get the tent off? Do we need to
- 24:31Speaker 9: maybe take them off the field? Do we need to
- 24:33Speaker 9: leave them where they are and not move them? And
- 24:35Speaker 9: that's really what we're trying to assess in the beginning,
- 24:37Speaker 9: because you know, if it's a spine Andrew talked about,
- 24:39Speaker 9: you know, low back lips and neck injury that we're
- 24:41Speaker 9: worried about, I don't want that person moving, true, you know,
- 24:43Speaker 9: whereas if as a guy that maybe you know, just winded,
- 24:47Speaker 9: maybe a little cramp, maybe you know, took a shot
- 24:49Speaker 9: and not a desirable location.
- 24:52Speaker 2: Sometimes those are things that we can and.
- 24:54Speaker 3: Look, I mean whatever team like you also know, different
- 24:57Speaker 3: pain levels probably for players, and like there's probably some
- 25:00Speaker 3: people that if they're acting hurt, you're like, uh, because
- 25:03Speaker 3: I mean they're you know, it's like, I know this
- 25:05Speaker 3: person's not gonna go out there and if they're acting
- 25:07Speaker 3: like that something, so.
- 25:09Speaker 2: You kind of know off that too. Right.
- 25:10Speaker 9: Yeah, again, that's where again we talked about a moment
- 25:13Speaker 9: ago relationships. You know, you know the guys usually pretty well.
- 25:16Speaker 9: You know, sometimes today's aay in age today's game. Sometimes
- 25:18Speaker 9: you get newer players, takes a little bit longer with
- 25:20Speaker 9: the transfers.
- 25:21Speaker 10: And right, but for the most part, we know these
- 25:22Speaker 10: guys pretty well.
- 25:23Speaker 9: And again, like I keep going back to, but our
- 25:25Speaker 9: trainers they're there every day, so so you can kind
- 25:28Speaker 9: of base a lot of what we're doing on their response.
- 25:29Speaker 9: You know, we kind of lean on them a lot
- 25:31Speaker 9: because again they're they're invaluable out there.
- 25:34Speaker 4: So when you're out there, like I don't want to
- 25:35Speaker 4: put you on the spot too much, but like, is
- 25:37Speaker 4: they're like one, I'm gonna put you on the spot
- 25:40Speaker 4: real quick, is it?
- 25:41Speaker 8: You?
- 25:41Speaker 4: Like, is there one like interaction with a player that
- 25:45Speaker 4: was hurt. That just sticks out to you as like
- 25:46Speaker 4: just being really funny or crazy. Like I'm sure you
- 25:49Speaker 4: go out there a lot and they're like I just
- 25:50Speaker 4: got hitting the balls or something like that. Like like
- 25:52Speaker 4: stuff has, but like, is there something where a guy
- 25:55Speaker 4: was like, oh my god, okay, this is pretty funny.
- 25:56Speaker 10: Yeah, I mean there's well, you know there's one guy.
- 25:58Speaker 9: Once they say his name because I for protection of
- 26:01Speaker 9: certain things, but every time he got down it was
- 26:03Speaker 9: it was it was a coin toss because he was
- 26:05Speaker 9: a line defensive lineman and he was I'll give that much,
- 26:07Speaker 9: and bigger guy.
- 26:08Speaker 2: And then sometimes he was just tired and.
- 26:12Speaker 10: So he'd go down and we're like, well, is he
- 26:13Speaker 10: tired or is he hurt?
- 26:14Speaker 9: And he was also a very good actor, so you
- 26:16Speaker 9: couldn't based off his response because he'd be rolling, he'd
- 26:18Speaker 9: be looking like he's an aged and we got here, God.
- 26:20Speaker 2: I just need a breath.
- 26:21Speaker 10: Yeah, you know, that does happen.
- 26:23Speaker 9: You know, we try not to do that, but obviously
- 26:25Speaker 9: that does happen, and in that scenario we have to be.
- 26:27Speaker 4: Yeah, hey, look, we were trained to like fake yeah,
- 26:29Speaker 4: for sure, take an injury if we had like a
- 26:31Speaker 4: chin strap malfunction or something.
- 26:32Speaker 2: And I know I only had the doctors come out
- 26:34Speaker 2: for me one time.
- 26:35Speaker 3: It was after scored against Florida, and I couldn't buckle
- 26:38Speaker 3: my chintz drab it it come loose. I tried to
- 26:40Speaker 3: do it, and there was so much sand on the
- 26:42Speaker 3: field that sand got lodged in there. And I was
- 26:44Speaker 3: on the extra point team and we had one time out,
- 26:47Speaker 3: and I'm like, I don't want something to happen and
- 26:49Speaker 3: have to use a time out on me, like to
- 26:51Speaker 3: get you know, get me off, get Richard Dixon on,
- 26:53Speaker 3: who was my backup on extra point or whatever, and
- 26:56Speaker 3: so like, I just it was terrible acting. I just
- 26:58Speaker 3: grabbed my knee and I remember and Bear coming out there.
- 27:01Speaker 3: They're like, hey, man, what happened to here? I was
- 27:02Speaker 3: like saying him a chin strapt And then of course
- 27:04Speaker 3: Jack you can see on the TV copy, He's like,
- 27:06Speaker 3: oh my god.
- 27:08Speaker 2: But look, sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. Yeah,
- 27:10Speaker 2: do you gotta win. It's part of it.
- 27:12Speaker 3: Yeah, when we were taught to be actors bad ones,
- 27:14Speaker 3: but act that real bad ones.
- 27:15Speaker 2: So uh now there is kind of rules against that though.
- 27:18Speaker 10: Yeah, they're they're trying.
- 27:18Speaker 2: To kind of lock down that yeah, it should be, Yeah,
- 27:21Speaker 2: that should be.
- 27:21Speaker 4: Did the rafts like come in and try to like
- 27:23Speaker 4: hear the conversational Make sure was he saying.
- 27:26Speaker 2: Yeah, trying to hear a hustle?
- 27:28Speaker 1: Uh?
- 27:28Speaker 2: Doc?
- 27:28Speaker 3: Also, I know, uh, Friday nights are about to kick
- 27:32Speaker 3: up here in high school football. You got Thursday games,
- 27:34Speaker 3: you got Friday games, like this is week one in
- 27:36Speaker 3: high school football, and I know you off got something
- 27:38Speaker 3: over there at the clinic if something, you know, knock
- 27:40Speaker 3: on wood does happen on Friday night, they are ready
- 27:43Speaker 3: to go.
- 27:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 27:44Speaker 9: It's it's a service that we provided for for years
- 27:47Speaker 9: before even I got here, and it's something that I
- 27:48Speaker 9: think is one of the cooler things that we do
- 27:50Speaker 9: very proud of. It is every Friday night during football season,
- 27:53Speaker 9: we have an injury clinic at at Brock and basically
- 27:57Speaker 9: it's for really anybody. We say it's a football injury clinic,
- 27:59Speaker 9: but any sports injury.
- 28:00Speaker 4: You know.
- 28:00Speaker 9: In fact, the first year I recovered it, my first
- 28:02Speaker 9: individual to come in was somebody from the band who
- 28:04Speaker 9: had rolled an ankle.
- 28:05Speaker 2: Oh wow. Yeah.
- 28:05Speaker 9: But it's a free clinic. We provide everything. If they
- 28:08Speaker 9: need X rays, they get X rays. We don't worry
- 28:09Speaker 9: about if you have insurance, if you don't, and then
- 28:12Speaker 9: whatever the scenario is from there, we try and get
- 28:13Speaker 9: those people set up with what they need. So it's
- 28:16Speaker 9: a good way to get an evaluation. And again these
- 28:18Speaker 9: are gonna be done by our orthopedist. They're gonna be
- 28:20Speaker 9: there every night. We all kind of take turns rotate
- 28:21Speaker 9: through it, so you're gonna get great care for any
- 28:24Speaker 9: sports injury that occurs. It's you know, starts at nine
- 28:26Speaker 9: o'clock on Friday nights and usually were there untilt least eleven.
- 28:28Speaker 2: You know, we need to stay later.
- 28:29Speaker 9: Sometimes we'll get some calls from a trainer like hey,
- 28:31Speaker 9: we're getting somebody in, you know, and it's it's a
- 28:33Speaker 9: really cool service, something that I'm.
- 28:35Speaker 2: Really proud of. Yes, and hopefully you don't have to
- 28:38Speaker 2: use it right right.
- 28:39Speaker 4: I mean it's football, it's tackle football, and thank god
- 28:42Speaker 4: that they do that.
- 28:43Speaker 2: That's that's a really really cool deal.

- 31:17Speaker 2: You know this one, Flynn?
- 31:19Speaker 4: Yeah, this is actually a popular song.
- 31:23Speaker 3: Oh it's weird the people on Twitter that are tagging
- 31:27Speaker 3: both of us saying that they've definitely heard that song
- 31:30Speaker 3: and Flynn's an idiot.
- 31:32Speaker 11: Those aren't my words, you know, sure? Yeah, absolutely, you're so.
- 31:38Speaker 11: You get so weird, very weird.
- 31:45Speaker 3: You haven't heard of a song. I'm not just talking
- 31:46Speaker 3: about my songs. I'm talking to anybody who're like this popular.
- 31:50Speaker 3: You know the catalog you had in your brain there, Sorry, Bud,
- 31:53Speaker 3: I know a lot of music, a lot of music,
- 31:58Speaker 3: but you know, go ahead, go ahead.
- 32:03Speaker 4: John Mayer deep track from like his fiftieth album. I
- 32:05Speaker 4: don't really know that one.
- 32:06Speaker 11: I think it was from his I don't know the
- 32:09Speaker 11: third album if I'm not mistaken.
- 32:12Speaker 2: What's old? Is it old? And it's old?
- 32:15Speaker 3: Probably twenty years old, something like that. It's a good
- 32:21Speaker 3: guitar player, it's great. Well, this is great. Good woodmen's
- 32:28Speaker 3: sexual wellness. Your Goodwood dot com is the website. Should
- 32:32Speaker 3: probably go there, probably go check out a fullness of
- 32:35Speaker 3: services that they offer. Should probably set the consultation up
- 32:38Speaker 3: as well. You know, right there in the bottom right corner.
- 32:42Speaker 3: I'm gonna pick up the phone, give me a call
- 32:43Speaker 3: two two five four g D. Would you know that
- 32:47Speaker 3: Jordan had a call Goodwood? Get that YouTube back up?
- 32:50Speaker 6: Yeah? I couldn't. I just couldn't get it up.
- 32:53Speaker 2: I only got it up. Now go to your Goodwood.
- 32:56Speaker 2: You're Goodwood dot com. Check them out. Man, it's an

- 33:07Speaker 6: Yeah, see you number in the Journey YouTube radio.
- 33:10Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 33:11Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm about to say in the journey it's all
- 33:13Speaker 6: about you know, the pit falls. You know, sometimes you
- 33:16Speaker 6: gotta fall in your face. It's okay, we'll be all right.
- 33:19Speaker 2: That's what we're trying to tell you when you're freaking out,
- 33:21Speaker 2: trying to calm us down there.
- 33:23Speaker 6: All right, you're right, youre right, And I gotta flip
- 33:25Speaker 6: the script.
- 33:26Speaker 2: Trying to just make it like, hey, it's okay, we're
- 33:28Speaker 2: not gonna yell at you.
- 33:31Speaker 6: Oh I was. I was heated six forty.
- 33:34Speaker 2: I was heated my dad in the chat whatever it's called.
- 33:38Speaker 2: I mean by you Ford Huddle, he said.
- 33:40Speaker 4: I also asked Matt how he's never heard of Manna
- 33:42Speaker 4: or I have from Holling oats.
- 33:46Speaker 2: Way better. Yeah, he is very pinky up in the
- 33:49Speaker 2: air when it comes to music. So don't even attempt
- 33:52Speaker 2: I don't think that's true. Yeah, it's very true, right there,
- 33:57Speaker 2: pinky in the air, pinky's up. If he hasn't heard
- 33:59Speaker 2: of it must suck. That's a fact. This microphone that
- 34:03Speaker 2: keeps falling, it needs good a good one. Got the
- 34:08Speaker 2: old limp mic.
- 34:09Speaker 3: One of the things that popped yesterday Dabo Sweeney and
- 34:15Speaker 3: his weekly press conference there Monday press conference, like all
- 34:20Speaker 3: these coaches do, he was talking about grading the game.
- 34:24Speaker 3: His quote was, it's like getting a final exam the
- 34:28Speaker 3: first day of class. They made a sixty five, we
- 34:32Speaker 3: made a fifty eight. Neither one of us were great.
- 34:37Speaker 3: So our guy, Chris Marler asked Louisyannsports done that, asked
- 34:42Speaker 3: Brian Kelly about it during his past conference, and BK said,
- 34:47Speaker 3: I thought we dominated them in the second half. So
- 34:50Speaker 3: he's either a really good grader giving himself a fifty eight,
- 34:54Speaker 3: or he's a really hard grater on us, or he
- 34:57Speaker 3: didn't see the second half, which that might be the case.
- 35:01Speaker 3: He might not have wanted to see the second half,
- 35:05Speaker 3: was the reply from BK, And so BK was having
- 35:09Speaker 3: none of that. And again Marler put up a story
- 35:11Speaker 3: on Louisiana Sports dot Net if you want to see
- 35:14Speaker 3: the clip there, because yeah, I'm going to disagree with
- 35:18Speaker 3: Dabo as far as the grading scale there. I thought
- 35:23Speaker 3: in the first half for LSU, they were trying to
- 35:26Speaker 3: figure out what it was going to be like. Tom
- 35:30Speaker 3: Allen's coming over from Penn State. Now he's calling defenses
- 35:33Speaker 3: for Clemson. You could see Joe Sloan trying to figure
- 35:35Speaker 3: it out a little bit, a little bit of a
- 35:38Speaker 3: jab jab jab, but let's still the Haymaker in the
- 35:40Speaker 3: second half, and they were throwing body blows, head shots,
- 35:45Speaker 3: leg whips everything they could in the second half and
- 35:47Speaker 3: Clemson really had no answer for it. That second half
- 35:50Speaker 3: was dominant, and I know that it didn't end up
- 35:52Speaker 3: in points, although it should have a touchdown that wasn't
- 35:55Speaker 3: a touchdown. But they dominated as you did the second half,
- 36:01Speaker 3: and they all coach Clemson on every single level.
- 36:05Speaker 2: Now that we do have video back like there.
- 36:08Speaker 3: Was there was about what six players I think I
- 36:12Speaker 3: sent all yesterday if someone clipped up of everything the
- 36:15Speaker 3: offense did to keep Clemson on their heels. So, I mean,
- 36:19Speaker 3: I'm gonna agree with bk here as far as if
- 36:22Speaker 3: that's his grading system. I'd hate him as a professor,
- 36:25Speaker 3: no doubt, because I thought, if you're grading the second half,
- 36:29Speaker 3: I mean, it'd be hard not to give an a
- 36:31Speaker 3: to what LSU was able to do.
- 36:33Speaker 4: Yeah, I know dser for degrees, but man, that grading
- 36:36Speaker 4: scale is pretty pretty rough there, which is fine. I
- 36:39Speaker 4: mean he's trying to like just give up, probably like
- 36:41Speaker 4: a blowoff comment, like to like say, hey man, we
- 36:44Speaker 4: got a lot of.
- 36:44Speaker 2: Work to do.
- 36:45Speaker 4: Both teams are really good, but they're both teams are
- 36:47Speaker 4: gonna get a lot better.
- 36:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 36:49Speaker 4: I get that, But I'm sitting here just kind of
- 36:52Speaker 4: like scrolling through tape as we're doing this show. I
- 36:57Speaker 4: just saw like monts or Dlaye make make a great
- 37:00Speaker 4: play like that was an a plus play to me.
- 37:03Speaker 4: So yeah, just like you said in the second half
- 37:05Speaker 4: where it doesn't show up in the scoreboard as much
- 37:08Speaker 4: when we win the game seventeen to ten, but it
- 37:10Speaker 4: was a more dominant performance than a seventeen ten scoreboard finale.
- 37:14Speaker 6: I mean, you got to touchdown taken away.
- 37:16Speaker 4: You gotta touchdown taken away if they played a game right.
- 37:21Speaker 3: Now now that you've seen that, because during Saturday in
- 37:25Speaker 3: the group chat during the game, you were kind of like,
- 37:27Speaker 3: I don't really know, I can understand it. Yeah, And
- 37:29Speaker 3: then I don't know you're answered to this. I'm asking like,
- 37:32Speaker 3: now that you've seen it, what do you think of that?
- 37:34Speaker 2: What I think is I don't really know the rule.
- 37:37Speaker 3: Oh, I mean, I'm not trying to be funny. I
- 37:39Speaker 3: don't think they do.
- 37:40Speaker 4: Actually, I looked up the rule yesterday and the rule
- 37:42Speaker 4: does not It does not go into as much granular
- 37:47Speaker 4: detail as you would think, right. So it's always been
- 37:51Speaker 4: my opinion if that if the receiver starts to make
- 37:56Speaker 4: us catch with his momentum going.
- 37:59Speaker 2: Towards the ground, he has to finish it through the ground. Right.
- 38:02Speaker 2: But then that wasn't.
- 38:03Speaker 3: The case on Saturday when he caught the football he
- 38:07Speaker 3: established himself in bounds.
- 38:08Speaker 4: Well, because are you saying he established himself because of
- 38:13Speaker 4: two steps.
- 38:13Speaker 3: He established himself because he wasn't falling.
- 38:15Speaker 4: I agreed that it is a catch. I'm just saying
- 38:18Speaker 4: when it happened, when I was watching it live and
- 38:20Speaker 4: we were all texting each other, I watched it and
- 38:23Speaker 4: the replay came back, it's like, oh, that's not a
- 38:25Speaker 4: catch because his momentum is going towards the ground when
- 38:28Speaker 4: the ball hits his hands, like he's going towards the ground,
- 38:30Speaker 4: even though he makes two steps as he's fall.
- 38:32Speaker 3: And then he hits the pylon, which does any level
- 38:35Speaker 3: of football, that's a touchdown. I agree with his possession
- 38:37Speaker 3: pylon with possession.
- 38:39Speaker 4: It's just not like the what it catches needs to
- 38:41Speaker 4: be more defiant. It is a catch, I know, and
- 38:44Speaker 4: that like the it's such a hypocritical rule that power
- 38:49Speaker 4: sharp can take almost two steps and be called a fumble,
- 38:55Speaker 4: and we can't take two steps hit a pilon and
- 38:57Speaker 4: it's called incomplete. Path Like, how can you have possession
- 38:59Speaker 4: and fumble?
- 39:00Speaker 2: I can just be the same. How can it be
- 39:01Speaker 2: the same thing. It has to be considered. It can't
- 39:03Speaker 2: be hypocritical on one side.
- 39:04Speaker 4: It can't be both going again, both rules not judge
- 39:10Speaker 4: the same, but they both penalized the offense.
- 39:13Speaker 3: Yeah, And so obviously I'm not watching the TV copy.
- 39:16Speaker 3: I'm calling the game. But apparently the rules analyst was like,
- 39:22Speaker 3: that's a catch.
- 39:24Speaker 6: He was like, he was like, it's a catch, got
- 39:26Speaker 6: his foot inbounds, hit the pilon, that's a touchdown. And
- 39:29Speaker 6: so me watching, like I'm watching the TV copy, I'm like, oh, touchdown.
- 39:33Speaker 6: So I didn't know no point to either in the booth.
- 39:37Speaker 6: So at no point in time when the referee came
- 39:39Speaker 6: in there to give the call when he said, I
- 39:41Speaker 6: was never a thought on my mind was he's going
- 39:43Speaker 6: to say incomplete. It was either going to be down
- 39:45Speaker 6: at the one or touchdown. So when he said incomplete
- 39:48Speaker 6: and then you missed the kick, I was like, oh,
- 39:50Speaker 6: here we go, here we go.
- 39:53Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah.
- 39:55Speaker 3: It felt like in that moment, like those are things
- 39:58Speaker 3: that lose football games because think about the momentum that
- 40:02Speaker 3: you went from. We got it on the one. Oh
- 40:06Speaker 3: my god, we scored and when they went in, that's
- 40:08Speaker 3: the only thing we thought they were looking at. When
- 40:11Speaker 3: that man came back there and said incomplete pass.
- 40:14Speaker 6: Couldn't believe it.
- 40:14Speaker 3: I was hot on the CB was too, and I
- 40:19Speaker 3: felt bad because Gordy's like, well you know.
- 40:21Speaker 2: I was like, no, I don't know. I don't know, Gordy,
- 40:23Speaker 2: I needmore. You didn't like our group jet then no.
- 40:27Speaker 3: I hated it in fact, but you're lucky I was
- 40:30Speaker 3: concentrating on the game and not just doing this to
- 40:33Speaker 3: the buttons, texting you back.
- 40:35Speaker 2: You're too close to the case because it was not
- 40:38Speaker 2: a cat does did not have a catch, has.
- 40:40Speaker 3: Caught that ball twice incomplete. I get why you're I
- 40:46Speaker 3: get why you're like that, but that was a catch.
- 40:49Speaker 2: I agree l s U's was a catch. Death was
- 40:52Speaker 2: not a catch. Behame.
- 40:55Speaker 4: It's okay, but they got rid of that rule right,
- 40:59Speaker 4: Like you had to finish every catch through the ground,
- 41:02Speaker 4: no matter how many steps, right.
- 41:05Speaker 6: I mean, we think so nobody can really tell you
- 41:07Speaker 6: what the catch is.
- 41:08Speaker 2: Nobody can, Like I literally looked up the rule book yesterday.
- 41:11Speaker 6: Oh it's funny we say that because then.
- 41:13Speaker 4: Talk about that situation. Yeah, they didn't talk about steps.
- 41:16Speaker 6: It just happened. In the South Carolina game, Virginia ted
- 41:19Speaker 6: with Harbor. They didn't count this touchdown either, So I
- 41:22Speaker 6: was like, you know what, they let that one. They
- 41:24Speaker 6: didn't count down on either. I'm not gonna trip too
- 41:25Speaker 6: hard about Barrier, even though I still feel like Baron
- 41:27Speaker 6: Brown scored the fact that they they didn't call that
- 41:30Speaker 6: for Nick Harbor. I was like, okay, all right, yeah
- 41:31Speaker 6: that was that was bs too.
- 41:33Speaker 3: Yeah, but I will say this final point before we
- 41:36Speaker 3: take this break. To have that happen to you missed
- 41:40Speaker 3: the kick, yes, and still not let momentum go to
- 41:43Speaker 3: Clemson for the rest of the game. That kind of
- 41:46Speaker 3: shows you the DNA and the wiring of this group
- 41:49Speaker 3: is different than it has been in the past one
- 41:50Speaker 3: hundred because you agree that.
- 41:53Speaker 4: Because they got that crazy dude energy on defense. That's
- 41:56Speaker 4: why I.
- 41:57Speaker 2: Mean, let's call it like it is. They have mead
- 41:58Speaker 2: heead energy on defense.
- 42:00Speaker 3: Yep, they've got the perfect amount of meathead with skill
- 42:05Speaker 3: with high football IQ and just dog it.
- 42:09Speaker 2: Yes.
- 42:09Speaker 4: And I'm like, as we're going, as we're talking right now,
- 42:12Speaker 4: I'm like flipping through the actual eleven on eleven game
- 42:16Speaker 4: film right now as we're and I can't even see
- 42:18Speaker 4: numbers a lot of times because it's the zoomed out
- 42:20Speaker 4: sideline version.
- 42:21Speaker 2: And we got to be so excited about our DBS.
- 42:24Speaker 4: I mean, we're talking lockdown corner play right now, both
- 42:27Speaker 4: sides of the ball.
- 42:28Speaker 2: It's very impressive. So much energy go south.
- 42:32Speaker 3: You notice how LSU was trying to hurry up after
- 42:35Speaker 3: the play. They knew it would be incomplete. Actually, if
- 42:37Speaker 3: you go back and you watch the All twenty two,
- 42:39Speaker 3: I don't know what the TV showed.
- 42:41Speaker 2: They weren't.
- 42:41Speaker 3: They actually were checking in the line of scrimmage on
- 42:44Speaker 3: the next play. I thought, actually ghost out they would.
- 42:47Speaker 3: I thought they would actually rush to the line. But
- 42:49Speaker 3: if you go back, because I pointed that out on
- 42:51Speaker 3: the broadcast, they.
- 42:52Speaker 2: Know they weren't.
- 42:53Speaker 3: They were kind of like nus Meyer was pointing and
- 42:55Speaker 3: getting people kind of lined up, and so I think
- 42:59Speaker 3: and if you watch the LSU coaches sideline, they were
- 43:02Speaker 3: signaling touchdown. That's what they were trying to get. They
- 43:05Speaker 3: weren't trying to hurry up and get a play because
- 43:07Speaker 3: they thought it was incomplete. I talked with one of
- 43:09Speaker 3: the coaches after the game and they said, no, no,
- 43:12Speaker 3: we we knew it was a touchdown and not down
- 43:14Speaker 3: at the one, and that's what we were trying to
- 43:16Speaker 3: signal there. So they were as surprised as we were.
- 43:19Speaker 4: It was clear and obvious, like live that it was
- 43:22Speaker 4: a touch like that he had caught it and cross
- 43:24Speaker 4: the across the pieline like of course, nobody saw the
- 43:26Speaker 4: bobble at the end, like the ground moved the ball. Yeah,
- 43:29Speaker 4: but like for that guy to mark it down at
- 43:31Speaker 4: the one was pretty.
- 43:33Speaker 2: A behavior too. Yes, all right, we got to take
- 43:35Speaker 2: a break. We'll do it more. Otb here on one
- 43:37Speaker 2: four five ESPN. Better route off the bench, all right.
- 43:41Speaker 3: Go to Russell Pools dot COM's website for Russell pool Company.
