- 0:00This is the least political thing I've ever seen.
- 0:02It is a equal opportunity shit show.
- 0:06The elite of this world live in a world different than you and
- 0:09me. What the scandal is is not the
- 0:11depth of this, but the breadth of this.
- 0:15Welcome to Bourbon and Rum, the podcast dedicated to civil
- 0:19conversation. I'm Kent.
- 0:21I like rum and I'm from the left side of the aisle and I'm Kyle.
- 0:25I like bourbon. I tend to be a little more
- 0:26conservative Brothers talking politics for bourbon and rug.
- 0:42What are you drinking? Well, I'm drinking bourbon and
- 0:44Coke, a Diet Coke, because I have a cold and I can't taste
- 0:49anything. So I'm not going to drink my top
- 0:50shelf stuff. I'm drinking on just some stuff
- 0:54at some bottom shelf stuff and a little bit of Diet Coke.
- 0:59I don't even know what I'm drinking.
- 1:00So, you know, I think it's Burgerman.
- 1:01Well, I'm going to match you cheap for cheap.
- 1:05I grabbed this bottle of Navy Bay Generic Jamaican Rum when we
- 1:11were in Minneapolis and it's normally $14.00 a bottle but I
- 1:15got it on sale for 11. Nice.
- 1:18Hey, we're, we're all about the value here with inflation.
- 1:21We need to, you know, we need to be smart about our booze
- 1:23choices, Ken. Yeah, this is all before we have
- 1:27a out and out war in the Caribbean where most of my my
- 1:30slurping is is distilled so. That's true.
- 1:35Well, man, we could call this a breaking news edition or you
- 1:42know, we've we're recording on Friday afternoon, the 14th of
- 1:47November and it's kind of been a week of stuff coming out of the
- 1:52Epstein files. And yeah, just interested in
- 1:57what you're seeing and what your what your take on it is.
- 2:00Any surprises? Yeah.
- 2:01I mean, there has been some stuff come out.
- 2:04It seems like it's been a trickle, but it's not.
- 2:06What I'm trying to understand is like what's come out when?
- 2:09Because my understanding is there's a vote next week to get
- 2:13the mother lode, but then there's a bunch of stuff that
- 2:15was already released or. I think the difference, I'm not
- 2:19certain of this, but I think the difference is the where it's
- 2:24coming from, because the stuff that the Democrats unilaterally
- 2:29released was not a part of the the Epstein files per SE, but it
- 2:36was material that was subpoenaed for the congressional
- 2:41investigation. I think that's the, I, I could
- 2:45be wrong on that, something like that.
- 2:47So there's more. Yeah.
- 2:49Well, and that's what I'm saying.
- 2:50Next week is going to be really interesting and how soon it
- 2:53comes out. And you know, there's so much of
- 2:54it. It's like how fast can they
- 2:56process the stuff? Well, right.
- 3:00And, you know, there's a lot of, you know, grocery lists from
- 3:06Tuesday, May 5th, 2022. Yeah, Well, no, not, not 2020.
- 3:12I mean, 20 O2. You know, I don't think he was
- 3:14making a grocery list in 22. But you know, I was amazed at
- 3:21reading some of this e-mail traffic.
- 3:24I mean, people listen to this Jackass, apparently, yes.
- 3:28I mean, he's talking about like, yeah, I'll get this foreign
- 3:32leader on the phone. I'll get this foreign leader
- 3:35like, and we've already established the guy wasn't a
- 3:39financial. That surely didn't sound like
- 3:41some kind of financial wizard. It sounded like he was a master
- 3:45of information. Yeah, there's a lot of, you
- 3:50know, some of it's not surprises, but it what's creepy
- 3:54in a way is reading the matter of factness of the discussion.
- 3:58There's a couple of really salacious ones, but you know
- 4:01where it's just him going back and forth with Larry Summers.
- 4:05Right. You know, just crazy to me.
- 4:09And all of those are after his arrest and conviction.
- 4:14Yes. And like, I don't know, I would
- 4:18think that if I was the president of former president of
- 4:21Harvard University, I just wouldn't hang out with guys that
- 4:25did time for a conviction like he did.
- 4:28And but it's like no problem. But then it's then you see the
- 4:33nature of the people he's connected to and it's like,
- 4:38yeah, it's a weird deal for sure.
- 4:40So there there were a couple Trump females.
- 4:43We've got a lot of attention this week.
- 4:45What do you think of those? Look, I, I really want to
- 4:50resist. You know, I, I'm not going to
- 4:53close the door and I'm not going to give him a pass.
- 4:57But I think it's dangerous territory and a mistake for
- 5:01Democrats to be rubbing their hands with Glee.
- 5:03Like, Oh my gosh, we've got it. Look, Virginia Jeffrey said that
- 5:08he didn't do anything with her. You know, I've heard some people
- 5:12say, like, apparently, you know, it was mentioned that he spent
- 5:16hours with her. Even Epstein was like, he did
- 5:20not get a massage. So you know, but like.
- 5:24I read that there was a Supposedly she said that they
- 5:27didn't spend hours together. Now I don't know, but there's so
- 5:29much out there. Like, yeah, but like, OK, so
- 5:33even if he didn't get a massage, is it cool for him to just be
- 5:37hanging out? I think the the that's what.
- 5:39I'm saying there was a, there was a report that she said he
- 5:42did not like, she refuted that. But then like, when was this
- 5:46presented? And you know, like it does seem
- 5:49like the data is all over the place.
- 5:52And if you're getting these reports, it's like what's
- 5:55really. True.
- 5:57If somebody's waiting for uncontrovertible proof that
- 6:01Trump actually took part in that, I think you're probably
- 6:08going to be disappointed. I, I kind of I just I think if
- 6:11you're holding your breath for that, you're you're kidding
- 6:13yourself and me to me, the smoking gun.
- 6:16The thing is that Epstein said the one sentence, the one phrase
- 6:21Trump quote knew about the girls.
- 6:25And to me, that's the like, that's the part.
- 6:27Like, I'm not looking to convict him for doing something.
- 6:32I'm saying, though it was common knowledge.
- 6:36It was common knowledge to him. And there's that quote of him
- 6:40making that crack about like, yeah, he likes him on the young
- 6:43side. And, and I'm just like, his
- 6:46response was he threw him out of the club.
- 6:50I, I don't know. I just think I guess I would
- 6:53wish that I well and then. And then if you see, if you see
- 6:57some of, and I think you mentioned this when we were
- 7:00texting back and forth, like, I don't know if you did or not,
- 7:03but you know, like it appears what he was really pissed at
- 7:07Trump about was like a like he stole a deal from him or
- 7:10something. Right, right.
- 7:12I think juicy and salacious are other things that Epstein said
- 7:17in just in conversation with other people about implying
- 7:24other kind of, he's not specific, so you don't even
- 7:26know, but kind of corruption or tainted things with Trump,
- 7:31Trump's the dirtiest of them all or something like that.
- 7:35And I, like you said, there's so much of this, like, I'm getting
- 7:39bits and pieces and I don't know if any of it's justifiable.
- 7:43But there was the thing where he said, yeah, he'd been briefing
- 7:47the Russians about stuff that he knew about Trump.
- 7:51And you know who knows what that is?
- 7:54But then I also think about like, I mean, if I think to some
- 7:58extent it'd be a lot more concerning if Epstein was like,
- 8:02Trump's the best guy in the world.
- 8:03I love him. He's great.
- 8:05Like if he if if the convicted sex offender was saying glowing
- 8:09things about the guy, I'd be a little more worried about that
- 8:12than he hated him with a passion.
- 8:15Yeah. So the other thing that came out
- 8:18and again, like every article and we've talked about this last
- 8:21week, like everything's political.
- 8:22So everything's got a spin. And like one of the things last
- 8:26week, it was like, you know, I guess there was some Democratic
- 8:31congresswoman that they signed in and then she signed the order
- 8:35to give the, you know, to, to like release the Epstein files.
- 8:40And they're like, well, the Republicans were holding out on
- 8:44reopening the government because they didn't want this lady to
- 8:46sign the thing. And I'm like, well, but they
- 8:50voted 15 times to, you know, pass the continuing resolution.
- 8:54And the Democrats were holding out.
- 8:55Yet like somehow the Republicans were hanging on to so this lady
- 9:01couldn't get sworn in. I'm like, I mean, if they did,
- 9:04you know, if the Epstein files was the biggest thing, then
- 9:07yeah, they could have voted for the CR the a month ago, you
- 9:10know, I mean, I don't really know what they got holding out a
- 9:13month. Yeah.
- 9:15I mean, I think the the key thing was that I think they made
- 9:18their point when the bills went out for people who now can't
- 9:21afford their their Obamacare insurance.
- 9:24I mean, I think that's what they were playing for.
- 9:27I think that the Epstein thing is a sideshow to the shutdown.
- 9:30I'm not sure I would agree with the strategy that Schumer and
- 9:33company took, but I think that's kind of neither here nor there
- 9:37to the to the Epstein bit. But I think Johnson was sure
- 9:41happy to have the government shut down this long.
- 9:44Did you read about Trump? But why that and I'm not
- 9:48challenging you. I mean, that may very be the
- 9:51case. I guess I'm just saying
- 9:52rhetorically like why the hell would he want to hold up the
- 9:56files? It doesn't make any sense.
- 9:58It's well, it's back to the whole age-old question of why is
- 10:00anybody holding up these files? Yeah, why did Trump?
- 10:03Did you read about Trump summoning Lauren Bobert to the
- 10:07Situation Room? Like I'd like to be a family on
- 10:11that wall, yeah. Again, I think I'm like this all
- 10:15would make more sense to me if I took the opinion of Trump, like
- 10:21a lot of the of of the left does that like he was first in line.
- 10:27He was, you know, he and Epstein, he was with all these
- 10:30girls. I just don't think that's the
- 10:32thing with Trump. If he was this going to the, you
- 10:37know, taking people to the situation room to pressure him
- 10:41not to release makes sense. If he's not guilty of that, it
- 10:45doesn't make sense. Well, I saw an interview with
- 10:48Alan Dershowitz and he was saying he you know, when when
- 10:54he's defending Epstein the first time he says to Epstein he's
- 10:57like, is there anybody you got dirt on?
- 10:59Because if you, if you've got dirt on powerful people, you
- 11:03could save yourself some grief. And he specifically said, what
- 11:05about Trump? I mean, if you got dirt on
- 11:07Trump, this would be the time to play it.
- 11:09And his life's on the line. He doesn't he he doesn't come up
- 11:12with something that to me is odd.
- 11:14Like if, if there was some damning stuff, that would have
- 11:18been the time to play the Trump card, if you will.
- 11:21Yeah. But again, I'm with you.
- 11:25I don't think that it. It doesn't appear to me that
- 11:29there is incontrovertible proof of Trump's direct involvement in
- 11:33the worst of what we're talking about, right?
- 11:36But then why? Why would you?
- 11:38Literally why is your presidency?
- 11:41And base, IE and I, I don't necessarily say I'm the base.
- 11:46I'm, I'm probably on the fringe. I hope.
- 11:48I don't think I'm, you know, in the middle of the, the makeup
- 11:52base. I would call myself that, but I
- 11:54was a supporter. But this is it's a huge
- 11:56showstopper to me. Until they fix this.
- 11:58I mean, that's ridiculous. Yeah.
- 12:00Why? Yeah.
- 12:01Why is the holdout? I don't get it at all.
- 12:03And I've heard some positions that, you know, I mean, it's
- 12:07like everybody, every time somebody starts talking, there's
- 12:09another name of and, and, you know, it's interesting.
- 12:14Look, Trump, Dershowitz, Summers, like, that's all old
- 12:18news. I heard Pulte was a part of it.
- 12:22And people said, maybe, you know, he's got all these cronies
- 12:28of rich Palm Beach guys, and maybe he's trying to avoid
- 12:33embarrassment for them. But, you know, I don't think I
- 12:37would jeopardize the presidency of the United States for
- 12:41protecting cronies, you know? Yeah.
- 12:45And I think the most baffling thing to me is like, if it
- 12:51exists, do we not believe now that eventually it's coming out?
- 12:55Like, like at this point, yeah, there's no hide many, right?
- 13:02Yeah, I don't. Understand I really would love.
- 13:05To be a family on the wall in the Beaubert meeting and just
- 13:09the White House right now. Like, what are you worried about
- 13:13exactly? And maybe you're right.
- 13:15Maybe it maybe it's the universe of personalities involved or
- 13:22something. What about international?
- 13:24I mean, could. OK, so I'm going to make up a
- 13:27hypothetical case. We knew that he was tight with
- 13:30Ehud Barack. Russia's involved.
- 13:34You know what? If somebody comes to you, you're
- 13:36the president and the CIA has connected all the dots and they
- 13:39say, listen, Mr. President, it'd be a little embarrassing for
- 13:42you. It'd be a little embarrassing
- 13:43for your friends. But there's things in that file
- 13:46that would be destabilizing to the world order.
- 13:49Yeah, I don't know what that would be like.
- 13:51Well. I one thing I thought of that
- 13:54you said about knew about the girls that comment.
- 13:56I, I, I'd read like with Weinstein, you know, after he
- 14:01got convicted, most, a lot of people in the Hollywood market
- 14:07were like, well, that was going to happen eventually.
- 14:10Like they all knew the guy was a scoundrel and like, yeah, taking
- 14:15heavy liberties with other women and abusive and whatever.
- 14:18And it's like everybody's, you know, that's Harvey.
- 14:21And it almost sounds like every. And maybe that's part of what
- 14:26the the fear is, is everybody in this universe, like they all
- 14:32knew this about that son of a bitch.
- 14:35And nobody ever said that they were all like, yeah, yeah,
- 14:38that's how he is. But you know, he but hey, he can
- 14:41get me access to so and so or he can get me access to so and so
- 14:44like, And if does that implicate such a wide swath of people that
- 14:49like in a disqualifies half the potential government leaders?
- 14:54Yeah. The other thing in the same vein
- 14:57could be, you know, it might be that Jeffrey Epstein was your go
- 15:01to if your preference was underage girls.
- 15:07If you like fill in the blank, there's another guy for that,
- 15:11there's another guy for that. And there's this whole ecosystem
- 15:16of rich people's desires being filled.
- 15:19I mean, this is a stretch, right?
- 15:20I'm not I, I, I have no evidence to this.
- 15:22Well, could it but the ubiquity of the guy be the be the
- 15:25scandal? And you know, honestly, that's
- 15:29at the heart of the whole Q Anon conspiracy.
- 15:33And I'm not comparing that, but like they're even beyond the Q
- 15:37Anon. I mean, that's an extreme form
- 15:40of it, but I, I think there is a lot of circles of people that
- 15:45think that there is shit that goes on with the elite rich of
- 15:53making up their own rules of that, you know, I mean, the Q
- 15:56Anon went down 1 rabbit hole, but I think I would, I don't
- 16:00think it would shock a lot of people to know that the Super
- 16:03rich kind of make their own rules and stuff.
- 16:07Exactly. And and if nothing else, this
- 16:10proves that right. This proves that that this guy's
- 16:13on a just a first name chatting it up, e-mail and back and forth
- 16:17texting with people basis. He was.
- 16:19I saw an e-mail with. Pritzker.
- 16:22Not with Jay Pritzker. It was a different Pritzker I
- 16:25think, if it's the one you're thinking of.
- 16:27Well, they said it was a billionaire.
- 16:28Yeah, but the whole family's billionaires.
- 16:31Oh, always a family member. OK, I'm trying to think, but he
- 16:35was like, they're kidding back and forth.
- 16:36You know, there was like, it was like, I forget what the joke
- 16:38was, but like, I mean, there was just a lot of, it's just mind
- 16:42boggling. Again, the guy's not a financial
- 16:46wizard. Yeah, he's connected to all
- 16:49these people. Why is he connected to all these
- 16:51people, 'cause he's peddling some deep dark shit and he's got
- 16:57customers around the world and they're all in positions of
- 16:59power and this gets out and you're ratting out.
- 17:05But then, OK. But then I'm back to like, so
- 17:09nobody that looked at this before would have been like, I
- 17:12mean, I guess if the governmental level, maybe
- 17:14they're all like, this is going to indict us all.
- 17:18I also believe that the I think that maybe what's most
- 17:23threatening to Washington, you know, this, we know that that
- 17:30it's all a show, right? And historically we talked
- 17:34about, you know, Congressman, would you know, Tip O'Neill and
- 17:36Ronald Reagan to go have a drink together.
- 17:38And we thought that was quaint and charming.
- 17:41But I think on a more nefarious level, like this whole thing is
- 17:46a show that's being put on for us.
- 17:48And the insiders in this show have more in common with each
- 17:53other than they do with any of us.
- 17:56And this does kind of lay that open.
- 17:58He was equally at home with Republicans and Democrats.
- 18:02This is the least political thing I've ever seen.
- 18:04It is a equal opportunity shit show.
- 18:09Let's hypothetically say that whatever else is out there is
- 18:14more of the same, right? I would describe everything
- 18:16that's referred to Trump right now as, you know, kind of
- 18:21tawdry, kind of cringey. I've seen no evidence that he
- 18:26did anything illegal. We we already know that immoral
- 18:31is not a very high bar for Trump, but there's no evidence
- 18:34that he did anything illegal. But So what if we get just more
- 18:39and more of this, more evidence of this kind of decadent, sick
- 18:44world of the elites, but not like, send people to prison
- 18:49smoking guns. What happens?
- 18:51Do we just like, live with that? That's a really good question
- 18:54because I think to some extent, I think part of humanity's
- 18:59fascination with conspiracy theories is that they will
- 19:03provide an easy answer to the problems that we have.
- 19:06Like, well, here's the whole problem.
- 19:09They're all in on it. OK, we need to do a perp walk
- 19:11with 1000 billionaires and life will be good.
- 19:14Well, it's not going to be. That Yeah, you know, more and
- 19:18more I'm thinking about that. I, you know, like everybody,
- 19:21I'm. I'm wishing that there's a tada.
- 19:26You know, here it is, the road map.
- 19:29You know, you unfold the road map and it's got all the all the
- 19:33lines between, you know, the pictures of all the people with
- 19:36the string between them. Here's how it works.
- 19:39We're not getting that We're going to get more of this and
- 19:44it's going to be other side. I mean, it's going to be people
- 19:48from both sides is going to be people from industry, it's going
- 19:51to be people from academia, you know it.
- 19:53But it's just going to, I mean, the dude wasn't an imbecile.
- 19:57He, he's not going to spell out in an e-mail on October 15th,
- 20:042002, President Clinton, former President Clinton, Prince
- 20:11Andrew, you know, like he's not going to give you that.
- 20:14Yeah. Well, again, I mean, I think if,
- 20:18if there was truly like some kind of smoking gun, you could
- 20:23stick somebody on the wall that should be out by now with two
- 20:27trials and two lives at stake. I mean, I don't care what
- 20:32Ghilane she would have spilled the beans if there was beans to
- 20:36spill that were meaningful. Yeah.
- 20:39Or that it's just it's not some slam dunk deep thing on anybody,
- 20:45but it's 10,000 emails like the ones that we've seen, they're
- 20:49not really incredibly. Like the guy touches everybody
- 20:52in the world. Yeah, and they're not, you know,
- 20:55they're, they're not graphic and explicit.
- 20:58They're just like, the whole thing is cringy and we're going
- 21:01to see 10,000 cringy emails with innuendo supposition.
- 21:08You know, did Dershowitz go to the island?
- 21:11Did he flew on the plane? Did he fly to the island on the
- 21:13plane? Or did he fly somewhere else on
- 21:15the plane? And, you know, you're not going
- 21:17to find like the surveillance camera video that shows
- 21:22Dershowitz walking into the room.
- 21:24You're not going to get that. You're just going to get this
- 21:27hinting? But well, who knows?
- 21:29I mean I'm I am interested to see what happens next week.
- 21:31I mean, it does seem odd that it's been this hard to shake
- 21:36loose this information. If it's just a big nothing
- 21:38burger, then why the hell is the delay?
- 21:41Then why do we need Congress to vote to release?
- 21:44I mean, we need the Congress, the United States to vote on
- 21:48some jerk files. It doesn't make sense to me.
- 21:51Like why is there a vote in Congress?
- 21:54Well, again, what what's the scandal is?
- 21:56If the scandal was one or two or three or four really, You know,
- 22:00if it's a Prince and a former president and like and they've
- 22:05got them dead to rights, that's one kind of scandal.
- 22:08The FBI said that there were thousands of victims, thousands
- 22:13of victims kind of implies thousands of perpetrators maybe.
- 22:17And then it's like. OK, so then yeah, good point.
- 22:21I almost used an F bomb on our podcast, Kent.
- 22:24But I mean, where the blank is the FBI chasing down thousands
- 22:29of perpetrators? Like, yeah, there's thousands of
- 22:31people committing crimes, but yeah, we're not going to do
- 22:34anything about it. What?
- 22:35Yeah, yeah. And and so we've got thousands
- 22:37of emails, thousands of pieces of evidence, and there's going
- 22:40to be thousands of names. And there's not a little black
- 22:43book, There's not a little black book because the little black
- 22:45book would be the size of the phone book.
- 22:47And and maybe the what the again, I'm back to what the
- 22:50scandal is, is not the depth of this, but the breadth of this.
- 22:55You start finding out, you know, what does that do to the stock
- 22:58market? If you go through and you know
- 23:0117 or 18% of sitting CE OS of Dow Jones listed companies were
- 23:09mentioned in the emails and you find out that.
- 23:12They all knew what was going on. They all knew, everybody knew
- 23:15and they were all on first name basis with him and there's no
- 23:18proof that they did anything wrong.
- 23:20But everybody's like, hey, Jeffrey.
- 23:23Like the whole, like the. Whole elite of politics,
- 23:27government and economics. We're all like Jeffrey, like,
- 23:32like Norman. Cheers.
- 23:34How many other Jeffreys are? How many other Jeffreys are out
- 23:37there? Yes.
- 23:39That cater to different vices, right?
- 23:42And yeah, that might be the scandal, the breadth of it, that
- 23:47there's no one or two or three smoking guns.
- 23:50It's just like, you open this up, that's good.
- 23:52Find tons of people. That's the that's the swamp
- 23:56drain we really want. They're the part of the elite
- 23:59need to go the way of Andrew Mountbatten Windsor.
- 24:03Would some, would not. That was it was not a good look
- 24:06for Andrew in the emails. I'll say that.
- 24:09I was never there. You must say that I can't handle
- 24:15any more of this. Yeah, OK, you idiot.
- 24:19You know, it's not exactly justice for the victims, but
- 24:22there is got to be some satisfaction.
- 24:25And that guy tried to that guy sitting on hold with the cable
- 24:29company trying to get his new apartment set up.
- 24:33Exactly. He's never dialed a phone
- 24:36before, you know, they hand it to your majesty, and now it's
- 24:40like he's listening to that hold music.
- 24:47That just brings me joy, honestly.
- 24:50Yeah. So what do you think the next
- 24:51moves are? They've passed the release the
- 24:55files resolution in the House. Yeah, I think so.
- 24:59Right. I'm, I'm saying I'm just kind of
- 25:01or did it? Come to a vote yet?
- 25:02Maybe it didn't come to a vote yet.
- 25:04No, I thought that last gal that they swore in cast the last vote
- 25:10but I'm like I don't understand any.
- 25:12No, I think she signed a resolution calling for the vote,
- 25:18but the vote hasn't happened yet.
- 25:20And now stepping away from the scandal itself per SE, I, I
- 25:26could be wrong in this, but I think it basically these people
- 25:28call basically it's like writing a petition and that it's going
- 25:32to force a vote. And the problem is, or the
- 25:35opportunity is, and I've heard multiple people say this, like
- 25:39even people that don't want to go near this with a 10 foot
- 25:41pole, they just want to stay out of it.
- 25:44If there's a resolution voted on on the House floor and it's a
- 25:48roll call vote, it's going to be really hard for people to just
- 25:53be, you know, you might be a friend of the president, but
- 25:56when they say, Mr. Clark, how do you vote Republican, Democrat?
- 26:01People aren't going to be able to to not be on the right side
- 26:06of that. So OK, so this is interesting.
- 26:10The Epstein files, comprising investigative records, emails,
- 26:14financial documents, and other materials from Epstein's sex
- 26:18trafficking case, are partially controlled by the executive
- 26:20branch, specifically the DOJ under the Trump administration.
- 26:24While the Republican LED House Oversight Committee has
- 26:26independently released over 42,000 pages, including a recent
- 26:31batch of females including Trump and others, the remaining files,
- 26:34estimated 10s of thousands more, require congressional action to
- 26:37compel Full disclosure. Here's a breakdown of why a vote
- 26:40is necessary. Many unreleased documents stem
- 26:43from federal investigation, including FBI probes, grand jury
- 26:45of materials, and sealed court records tied to Epstein's plea
- 26:48deal. These are held by the DOJ, which
- 26:50has brought discretion over the release to protect ongoing
- 26:54sensitivities, yada yada yada. The Trump administration has
- 26:57faced criticism for slow rolling.
- 26:59Democrats are pushing for release legal and practical
- 27:03barriers without a vote, without a law.
- 27:06Releases rely on voluntary committee actions or court
- 27:08orders. I mean, it kind of points to
- 27:11just the Trump administration is holding this back.
- 27:15But that's one angle. But it sounds like it's also
- 27:21like, what I don't get is, is it because Trump's administration
- 27:26isn't holding it, is withholding it, or is it because of the like
- 27:31the DOJ policies regarding grand jury testimony and stuff like
- 27:35that? Like somebody has to overrule
- 27:36that. But like, it sounds like they
- 27:38could just release the crap if they would.
- 27:40So like, OK, this is even worse. Like, why are they hanging on to
- 27:43it? You're going to lose.
- 27:44The Republicans run the committee.
- 27:48They're going to say, like you, we're releasing it.
- 27:52Why are you hanging on to it? You're just making yourself look
- 27:55even more guilty, right? Well, I think that the MO for a
- 28:00long time for Trump and a lot of other politicians is, you know,
- 28:07like run out the clock. We live in this 24 hour news
- 28:10cycle and there's going to be, is going to be something that
- 28:14comes up and pops it off. And I, I don't really believe
- 28:17that the government shutdown was engineered to cover this, but it
- 28:22has kind of soaked up the news cycle for a little while.
- 28:27And so, and so I think that there's some sense on people
- 28:30that, well, maybe this will just blow over.
- 28:34And this is like one of the few stories that I've ever seen that
- 28:40defies gravity. It doesn't.
- 28:42Well, I mean blow over cases accelerates.
- 28:45Case in point, the bourbon and rum podcast has not stopped
- 28:48talking about the Epstein files. But one of the things they said
- 28:51is OK, we need to you know what we need to do?
- 28:55We need to get a lawyer on the phone takes break all this down
- 28:58for us. That could be the next the next
- 29:00interview. But it says these federal files
- 29:04remain sealed unless Congress intervenes as seen installed
- 29:08efforts during the Biden era. So during the Biden era, there
- 29:10were efforts to people want them to release, but they didn't
- 29:13release some. But then it's like, OK, why
- 29:15didn't the Biden team release it?
- 29:17Like what the hell is the reasoning for?
- 29:20I don't know. The fact that Biden didn't
- 29:22release it candidly in my mind argues that we are not going to
- 29:27find the magical mystery smoking gun, right.
- 29:30If that existed, it would have been too tempting to release
- 29:34that more and more. And even on the wise, convincing
- 29:38myself that what we the wise Trump?
- 29:40Calling Bill Bear to the Situation Room.
- 29:42I like, what the hell is that about?
- 29:45I mean what we have. Right now, today, right now, we
- 29:49have incontrovertible proof that literally hundreds or thousands
- 29:57of elite leaders of the world operated freely and comfortably
- 30:02in an environment where a guy who procured underage girls for
- 30:08sex was one of the guys and everybody knew it.
- 30:13And that was just business as usual.
- 30:15Like, that's the thing that's proven, and that's disgusting
- 30:19all its own. And we're going to be
- 30:22disappointed because we're not going to get our perp walk.
- 30:24We just got to look ourselves in the eye like our world is
- 30:27governed by bastards like this. And likely, he's not the only
- 30:33one, right? The elite of this world live in
- 30:36a world different than you and me.
- 30:39Just the ease of conversation with all of them, every one of
- 30:44these emails, he's just back and forth.
- 30:47He was borderline illiterate or had like fat thumbs or something
- 30:52to be like, all of these emails are nonsense.
- 30:56Yeah. But yeah, totally comfortable
- 30:59first name basis, totally comfortable with lots of people.
- 31:03And yeah, they all quote knew about the girls, just no
- 31:08problem. What the hell?
- 31:09He's that guy. Yeah.
- 31:11So if you have a different weakness, you got a different
- 31:15guy. Is there a, is there, you know,
- 31:18this is, this is who you call. Oh, is that what you?
- 31:21Is that what you want? What you, you call him.
- 31:23And if oh, is this what you want?
- 31:24You you call this guy. That's just great.
- 31:27Is that surprising? Kind of actually up until seeing
- 31:32some of these emails, I tended to think that it was really like
- 31:37a blackmail, you know, like he really had people by the by the
- 31:42balls and manipulated people. It actually doesn't look like
- 31:49that. It looks, it looks so mundane.
- 31:54It looks not that. That mundane piece is, to me,
- 31:59what's most troubling. It's like, well, you know, he's
- 32:04one of 60 guys in the Rolodex of, you know, sleazy
- 32:09proclivities. Yeah, this isn't like, hey, I
- 32:13know something about Trump or Larry Summers or whoever.
- 32:16It's like, Oh yeah, I know this about Trump and I know this
- 32:19about Larry Summers and I, you know, we're we're just this is
- 32:22how we roll. This is how we roll.
- 32:24That's that's the outrage to me. This is how we roll.
- 32:29But, OK, did you not think that the Elite operated at a
- 32:33different level and a different, I mean, the the Bohemian Grove
- 32:38and all? Yeah, I mean, there's a lot of
- 32:40stuff. I feel like there's a lot of
- 32:42stuff that everybody like, well, that's your conspiratorial.
- 32:46Like it doesn't shock me that the elite with access to tons of
- 32:52money are sleazy. No, no.
- 32:55And I'm not saying that. I guess it shocks me that they
- 32:59that nobody feels even the slightest compunction to be
- 33:03discreet about it. Right, right.
- 33:05That's the part like, OK, so you're Bohemian Grove, for God's
- 33:10sakes. There's at least like they own a
- 33:12piece of property in the woods and they've got a fence so
- 33:15people don't walk in on their A ball, right.
- 33:18Like we didn't, we didn't bother to put the fence up.
- 33:21We didn't we just we're just sitting here yakking.
- 33:24But. It's kind of like to me, you
- 33:28know, we were talking, I think last week about the JFK thing,
- 33:33you know, you know, I was saying the linkage between JFK and
- 33:38Epstein. But but like one of the things
- 33:41we were talking about, I listen to our I don't normally listen
- 33:44to our podcast just quickly, but I listen to ours last week.
- 33:47And but you know, we talked a little bit.
- 33:50We, I brought it up and we kind of bat it around like, OK, if it
- 33:54was Johnson, like how damning would that be for the
- 33:58credibility of the office of the presidency?
- 34:02And I feel like with this thing is the fear of letting it out.
- 34:08It's not necessarily the office of the presidency.
- 34:11But is it that all this really does is it gives credence to all
- 34:17the conspiracies, whether it's Q Anon, whether it's any of these
- 34:21marginal conspiracies that the billionaires and the Super rich
- 34:25have a private club and they do all the shit, whatever they
- 34:27want. This is plain and simple
- 34:30validation and does that then we can the ability the next
- 34:36billionaire that gets up to run for president.
- 34:39Well, how do I know you're not out there procuring or you don't
- 34:42know of somebody that does this or whatever?
- 34:44And does that make, does that like screwed up for everybody?
- 34:49Yeah, I don't know what you I don't know what you do.
- 34:52We live in a country where running for dog catcher costs
- 34:55$100,000, so we're automatically selecting for the filthy
- 35:01stinking rich for these things. Go ahead.
- 35:03And we've talked about like all these congressmen, you know,
- 35:06like Nancy Pelosi's stock trade picks or, you know, Maxine
- 35:12Waters is worth like 10s of millions of dollars, you know,
- 35:17okay, where where they come from.
- 35:19But and that's, and that that's on the left.
- 35:21There's plenty of examples on the right, too, where these
- 35:24people going to Congress and they're all of a sudden loaded
- 35:27and are they all part of the club?
- 35:31Like, you got all these rich people running the show and then
- 35:34you get into government. Well, you want to get in the
- 35:36club, Here you go. But here's the price to pay.
- 35:39It's the price to join you. Sell your I don't think they're
- 35:42I don't think they're in the club.
- 35:44I think you get $10 million for being in Congress and that's
- 35:50shut up and leave us the hell alone.
- 35:52You're not in the club. I think that's your swamp, I
- 35:56think is the, the, the peons that are doing the bidding of
- 36:00the rich, doing the bidding of the, of the real elites again.
- 36:05And I'll say that I don't think you agree with me on this, but I
- 36:12mean, Trump's not he's never been the richest of the rich.
- 36:18You know, like I think he, he's, there's a lot of flash.
- 36:21They what one of the prosecutions was that he
- 36:24inflated his position, right? Yeah, well, that's what I mean.
- 36:29But like, is he even, you know, has the club spoken to him and
- 36:34said, yeah, you, you need to stop this.
- 36:38You're you're going to screw up the club and if you don't stop
- 36:42this. But again, what gravy train?
- 36:45The gravy train stops. Yeah, like.
- 36:48Well, that's where I'm going. Like with all these congressmen,
- 36:49Yeah, they're not necessarily the club runners.
- 36:52But I mean, you want you make 180 grand a year for 20 years
- 36:58and you magically walk away with $30 million in the bank, It's
- 37:01not because you were lucky. I mean, yeah, somebody was
- 37:04lucky, but not all you sons of bitches are lucky.
- 37:07And there's money getting passed around.
- 37:11I guess that's why I'm where I'm going is like, you know, we
- 37:14everybody loves to denigrate the conspiracy theorists over power
- 37:18and control. I I think we're there.
- 37:21I think we're showing that it exists.
- 37:23And this is evidence. This is like, you know, evidence
- 37:28#1 here. It absolutely makes things that
- 37:31I thought were crazy seem less crazy.
- 37:35That might be the quote of the year.
- 37:40I make the lobby to put you on Time magazine.
- 37:45Like the quote of the year. Things that seemed crazy seem
- 37:49less crazy this year. You think about it.
- 37:51OK, this is obscene business. How about UFOs?
- 37:53Everybody that thought people were crazy, that we're looking
- 37:56at UFOs and all the evidence that's coming about.
- 37:59What about AI? Oh my gosh, the stuff that AI
- 38:03does that nobody thought was possible.
- 38:06I do feel like we're in an era of like you thought last year
- 38:11was some crazy shit. Wait till next year.
- 38:13That's good business for podcasters right there.
- 38:16It is. Hey, next week should be pretty
- 38:19interesting after we get we need to tip for the listeners.
- 38:24You haven't heard the end of Epstein because we're probably
- 38:26going to be talking about it next week, too.
