- 0:01>> Well, Jeremiah, talk about what the
- 0:02first couple practices were like, not
- 0:04only being here at Auburn, with a bunch
- 0:05of familiar faces from USF as well.
- 0:07>> Yeah, obviously, uh, you know, we came
- 0:09over here, a bunch of new faces, bunch
- 0:10of new guys, but the team, we came out
- 0:12here the first two days, man. We're
- 0:13we're connecting together. The the
- 0:15energy is high. It's electric out here.
- 0:16You know, we always going to have a few
- 0:17things to clean up, but so far the past
- 0:20two days, man, has been nothing but sort
- 0:21of amazing.
- 0:22>> What's it been like being able to just
- 0:23pick up where you left off with Byron
- 0:25and you and all those guys who who
- 0:27played with him last last couple years?
- 0:28No, it's always amazing when like you
- 0:30and your QB have good chemistry. Like
- 0:32that's always like one of the best parts
- 0:33of like being in the offense with
- 0:35somebody, you know, like he knows how
- 0:37you run, how you run your routes, where
- 0:38you going to be, what when you're going
- 0:40to be there, like what kind of passes
- 0:41you need. So just having that chemistry
- 0:43is definitely a big step for what we
- 0:45need in this offense.
- 0:47>> Was it was it kind of a no-brainer for
- 0:49all of you guys and and did y'all have
- 0:50any conversations amongst yourselves,
- 0:52the receiving core, a bunch of guys from
- 0:53USF last year about following coach
- 0:55Golish and following Byum here? Yeah, I
- 0:57mean I mean definitely I think like it's
- 0:59it's pretty obvious that like we we were
- 1:01talking the whole time like through the
- 1:02whole situation, but like in deep in our
- 1:04heart like we knew that goalish and the
- 1:06staff like that's that's who we want to
- 1:07play for like these these are amazing
- 1:09people. We know they're going to take
- 1:09care of us. We know that their minds are
- 1:11straight like we know that they're good
- 1:12leader men so we trusted them that they
- 1:15can lead us to where we want to be.
- 1:16>> How fun is it to be a receiver in this
- 1:19offense specifically?
- 1:20>> Man, I think as best as it gets, man,
- 1:23big time plays all over the place. I
- 1:25mean like it's either you want to win or
- 1:27or you don't. I mean like it's on you.
- 1:29Like the opportunities are there like
- 1:30we're shooting the ball down the field
- 1:31like as you can see last year on
- 1:32offense. We shooting it. We shooting it.
- 1:34It's got the receivers to make the play.
- 1:35>> This receiver group particularly the
- 1:36guys that came from USF. How would you
- 1:38describe I guess the profile of that
- 1:39group? And is there anything maybe that
- 1:41a lot of people don't know about that
- 1:42group that you think people should know?
- 1:44>> Man, you know the media trying to
- 1:47portray like we we some group of five
- 1:49guys but I just like we came here to
- 1:51compete like group of five not or not.
- 1:53We came here to compete. We trying to
- 1:54show everyone that we belong here.
- 1:56>> How would you describe yourself as as a
- 1:58wide receiver to maybe some Auburn fans
- 1:59here? Might not be quite quite as
- 2:01familiar with you yet.
- 2:02>> Um,
- 2:03>> high energy, big time playmaker. Uh, if
- 2:06you see me around a facility all day
- 2:08long, I walk around putting smiles
- 2:09people face. I'm smiling all day long.
- 2:11Like everybody let me hear. I'm like I
- 2:12feel like I'm a person that like
- 2:14reflects off good energy around the
- 2:16whole facility. Offense, defense, staff,
- 2:19coaches,
- 2:21trainers. I just feel like I'm I'm a
- 2:22good energy guy and I I feel like I'm a
- 2:24good person to be around.
- 2:25>> Y'all got a high energy like receiver
- 2:27group. I noticed some practice the other
- 2:28day. Y'all just dancing like while y'all
- 2:30waiting line. Is that is that kind of
- 2:32the the kind of the mentality y'all want
- 2:33to carry over?
- 2:34>> Yeah, we want to be connected as
- 2:35brothers. So, you know, I mean football,
- 2:37you know, it's a serious game, but like
- 2:38we want to be here like to to be on each
- 2:41other like so we can be connected and
- 2:44happy together.
- 2:45>> Jeremiah, kind of how would you describe
- 2:46the practice atmosphere under
- 2:49>> man? We're competing practice. We
- 2:52competing. We competing. We competing.
- 2:54That's what I can tell you right there.
- 2:56>> Heard a lot about Chaz. Some people said
- 2:58he might be the fastest player on the
- 3:00team. Just you what have you kind of
- 3:01grown to know about him as a receiver
- 3:03and as an athlete?
- 3:04>> Chaz, first of all, Chaz is a unique
- 3:06person. You can ask anybody here. Like
- 3:08Chaz is a It takes you some time to get
- 3:10used to Chaz, but I've gotten used to
- 3:12him. I think Chaz like as a receiver is
- 3:14one of the most electric receivers I've
- 3:16I've seen. like um if you ask me, he's
- 3:19had he's he has one of the like fastest
- 3:21first steps that I've seen. Like and and
- 3:23speaking of his speed, Chad's like 23
- 3:25miles per hour guy. Like I feel like you
- 3:27can go on go with any anybody in this
- 3:29country.
- 3:30>> What about some of those young guys,
- 3:31young freshman that you guys have coming
- 3:32in? Anybody catch your eye,
- 3:34>> man? Young freshman.
- 3:37Brian, like I like Brian a lot. Like
- 3:40he's 65. What? 6'5? And Brian's like one
- 3:43of the he's like as smooth as it gets. I
- 3:45I think Brian has a really high upside.
- 3:47I think he'll be a really good player.
