- 0:10Leon Martin, along with Aaron Keaton, Melvin Martin, Andrew
- 0:14Schrock and Dan Blatz. Let's get right to it all
- 0:18righty. We are back at you on a Monday
- 0:21night with our Bible study. Looking forward to going through
- 0:25the Colossians 3 latter part like we do every Monday night.
- 0:30So welcome aboard and thanks for Andrew and Melvin to be here.
- 0:36I don't know if Aaron might hop on.
- 0:39Dan said he was out for tonight, so might be the three of us.
- 0:43We're going to kick off in verse 16.
- 0:46Andrew, if you didn't know, that's where we're going to be
- 0:49starting. But before we do that, I'll let
- 0:54Andrew kick us off with a word of prayer.
- 0:57Let's pray God, we thank you for your word, Thank you for all the
- 1:00information that we can gather to to prepare us to meet you in
- 1:05eternity. Pray for an honest and a good,
- 1:10wise, truthful Bible study in Jesus name, Amen.
- 1:15That's what we want. That's what we need is the
- 1:18truth, isn't it, folks? Yes, Sir, I know last week we
- 1:25kind of started talking a little bit about business and business
- 1:29opportunities. I was talking with a guy there
- 1:31at your camp, Andrew, a young guy that's an entrepreneur,
- 1:34started a business in Wisconsin. And I, I was just thinking about
- 1:38our conversation last week. I don't know if you went back
- 1:40and listened to that one, Andrew, you were known.
- 1:41But Dad and Melvin and I were talking about, you know, how,
- 1:46you know, how easy it is or, or how, yeah, we're like, we have
- 1:49no excuse not to be a successful business person in the United
- 1:52States. There's a lot of business out
- 1:53there. And so but I got to thinking
- 1:55about, you know, young people that are looking at getting a
- 2:02job or whatever and what it is that, you know, like a business
- 2:06owner would look for in a young man.
- 2:08And I don't know if any of you really, you know, hire I, I
- 2:12know, Mel, when you're, you just work with your kids for the most
- 2:15part, but you had employees at one time and I got plenty of
- 2:19them. And, and what are the, the
- 2:21couple of things that kind of come to mind when I'm looking
- 2:23around to see, or if I'm considering somebody to see
- 2:26whether I would hire them? Because quite honestly, when I
- 2:31was talking with another auctioneer on Saturday, we had a
- 2:34fundraiser auctioneer in Wisconsin.
- 2:36And I said after I became a business owner, by perspective
- 2:41of what I would hire changed when I became a business owner
- 2:46from being a, you know, like a contract auctioneer that other
- 2:49people would hire. And, and really it is, you know,
- 2:52so instead of like as a contractor, I wanted to sound
- 2:56good, but as a business owner, I want to hire somebody that does
- 3:01the job. I don't really care what they
- 3:03sound like. Can they do the job without
- 3:05being, you know, like micromanaged?
- 3:07Can they take a hold and take the take the reins and go do
- 3:12something, you know, as as a good employee would?
- 3:15Do you have any feedback or any anyone of you on that at all?
- 3:19Well, OK, go ahead and. I will just from my experience
- 3:25of hiring people, there's nothing more pleasurable than
- 3:28someone that can think for themselves and be confident in
- 3:34figuring out the stuff on their own while having good balance of
- 3:41asking how I want it done or looking at how I'm doing it and
- 3:46making sure they do it. But they look all of the, the
- 3:49little tricks, sort of the ways I make it happen quickly and
- 3:54they actually take pleasure in, in learning and get, get really
- 3:59good at it. Instead of just being there to
- 4:01try to get by and then try to take shortcuts.
- 4:06I actually take pride in what they're doing and treating it
- 4:11like an opportunity to see how efficient they can get it.
- 4:14What we're doing with the mindset that I can do this
- 4:17myself one day, one day I can have my own business.
- 4:22Those are the best people to hire.
- 4:23My opinion. They're they're not just there
- 4:27for a job, they're there to see how they can grow and possibly
- 4:30do their own thing. Those are the people that will
- 4:33have to sit some of the same pride you got in what you're
- 4:36doing. And they're going to be really
- 4:38efficient. You know, they're not going to
- 4:40let the machine run for no reason and they're not going to
- 4:43do a bunch of dumb lousy stuff that kills a bunch of diesel and
- 4:46time and whatnot. So.
- 4:49Yeah, that that's actually really good, Andrew, because
- 4:51I've talked about it before that, you know, if you really
- 4:54boil it down, you know, I'm going to be nice to people that
- 4:57want them to have a good job and a, you know, a good leader and
- 5:00stuff like that. But when you really boil it
- 5:01down, it comes down to what you can actually pay for is
- 5:05efficiency and effectiveness. I mean, without that, you're not
- 5:08going to be competitive, Melvin. Yeah, I think the mentality in
- 5:13the workforce right now or not even just right now has been for
- 5:18a long time is, is that everybody wants to work for
- 5:22Friday like they can't wait till Friday, right.
- 5:25And so I don't like that mentality.
- 5:28Like I want someone to be able to, like you said, able to grab
- 5:32a hold, but also be humble enough to want to do it the way
- 5:38I want it done as the boss or as our company wants it done and
- 5:42not maybe the way they think it should be done.
- 5:46You know, maybe their ideas are good sometimes, but the reality
- 5:51is if you're working for a company, you need to do the
- 5:54service or whatever you're doing the way they want it done.
- 5:57But because the mentality is, is that hopefully someday I can be
- 6:02my own business owner. That should be the goal, not
- 6:05just trying to get through the week or get through the year or
- 6:08make money. It's more than just money,
- 6:10right? And so for me, I worked a lot of
- 6:13different jobs when I was a teenager.
- 6:16I was just kind of trying to figure out what I liked or what
- 6:21I enjoyed or what what I could do that I didn't have that
- 6:27mentality of working to a Friday.
- 6:29Like in other words, if you do something that you love, then
- 6:33it's not really work actually. And you don't have to have that
- 6:37mentality that I can't wait till it's Friday, right?
- 6:41And so anyway, that's, that's what I like to see in people
- 6:46that I want to put on my team. You.
- 6:50Know it's actually a good topic. It's actually a good topic
- 6:53because a lot of young people are really struggling trying to
- 6:55get on their feet and it's just seems it's actually really
- 6:59difficult right now. Everything's expensive, rent,
- 7:02buying a house is just about out of reach.
- 7:06So if I would give us some young people, my advice would be work,
- 7:12work for people that do the trades that you want to learn
- 7:16how to get good at. And I think some of the best
- 7:20trades that you should learn, regardless if that's what you
- 7:23want to do for your life, is construction.
- 7:26Because the fastest way for you to own a home that you like is
- 7:30to buy one that is junk. You can live in the one corner
- 7:36of it. Now you're providing for your
- 7:37family and you're working at a job.
- 7:40Let's say you're working with a construction crew, so you kind
- 7:43of can learn the construction trade.
- 7:45You fix up that house, you sell it.
- 7:48Now you have power, you have a junk, you have a lump sum of
- 7:51money that you can do something with.
- 7:53The bank wants a chunk and they got a down payment.
- 7:56You got whatever. Or you can go out and buy your
- 7:58next house without a loan. You know you can.
- 8:01You can really jump a bunch of hoops if you play it smart, but
- 8:06if you're just going to try to pay for a house by working of
- 8:09eight to five job, you're going to struggle your whole life.
- 8:11Yeah, yeah. That that's that's good stuff
- 8:15and I'm reading I just started reading a book or listening to a
- 8:18book by John Bevere. It's called you are called when
- 8:24somebody recommended it to me. I don't know who it was anymore,
- 8:28but it, it makes the point that they talks about how that you
- 8:32should view your job in the same light as your ministry.
- 8:36And, and he he starts the book. It's really, I think I think you
- 8:39should listen to it or read it. It's a really good.
- 8:42He makes the point that if there's a person that wants to
- 8:45build a city, you know, a functioning city, he needs all
- 8:49kinds of workers. You know, he needs some that run
- 8:52the churches, yes, but he needs some that build the buildings.
- 8:55He needs some that pave the streets to the wiring
- 8:57electricity. He needs the ones that govern
- 8:59it, the ones that police it. And they're all working for him
- 9:03when he's building this city. And that just gave me a little
- 9:07bit different angle of when you're framing a house, it's,
- 9:12it's maybe as much God's work doing that.
- 9:15That's the point that he's making anyway, as it is to be
- 9:18preaching the gospel in a different way.
- 9:21You know, I wouldn't. The one doesn't replace the
- 9:23other, but they're both necessary and so I will read a
- 9:27verse tonight then I'll just kick it off with that.
- 9:29I mean it's down the road a little ways here, but it says
- 9:31whatever you do in Word or deed to the own the name of the Lord
- 9:34Jesus. You know that that's really what
- 9:36it what it is. So I would agree with both of
- 9:41you that haven't having an ownership mentality.
- 9:44That's that's the phrase that you hear in in leadership
- 9:47seminars all the time regarding employees.
- 9:50Somebody that that is in it for the long haul and and look at
- 9:53looking to please you. Of course, that would be the
- 9:56perfect employee. But you know, hard working and
- 9:58whatever you know and knowledge. I I don't, I wouldn't pay extra
- 10:03for somebody that's, that's really knowledgeable in the
- 10:06trade as much as I would for someone that's teachable.
- 10:09There you go. Yeah, I was, I was just talking
- 10:11with with a friend of mine and they had a young kid start
- 10:16working there, 16 years old, never had a job, you know, just
- 10:19out of school or maybe it's 15, I don't know, just out of
- 10:22school. And good kid, good Christian
- 10:25kid, just never worked hard. And yeah, he struggles a little
- 10:29bit, but he's willing to learn. And he said it's it's fun
- 10:31watching that guy, you know, take a hold and grow into
- 10:34something. So good stuff.
- 10:37All right, hey, let's kick off Colossians 3.
- 10:41Verse 16 says let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in
- 10:47all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in
- 10:50psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in
- 10:53your hearts to the Lord. And this comes right on the the
- 10:58heels we closed last week with verse 15, of course, which says,
- 11:02and let the peace of God rule in your hearts to the which you are
- 11:06called in one body and be thankful.
- 11:10And I really appreciated what Dan said about the word.
- 11:12Let you know about the the ship that was tied fast to the store
- 11:17was blown against it's an axe that you can read the whole
- 11:19thing there if you're interested.
- 11:21But they cut the ropes and they let the ship drive with the wind
- 11:26that was already pushing it. And that's kind of here when it
- 11:29says let the peace of God rule in your hearts or let the word
- 11:33of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom.
- 11:36It is a force that is already there in in a believer and it's
- 11:40not for us to force it, but to just to let it do its work in US
- 11:45that that's it's already that powers already within us.
- 11:48But Andrew, any thoughts of 16 or 15?
- 11:51Yeah, I think he's still working off of chapter 1 where he says
- 11:55that wants us to grow in wisdom and knowledge and understanding
- 11:59so that we can walk worthy of the Lord.
- 12:02And these are still, he's still piling on the weapons that we
- 12:07have and the information with from the knowledge.
- 12:10It's interesting that he has that he's telling us what to do.
- 12:14So it's not too many Christians, including myself, we're waiting
- 12:22for God to take over our life. And I just want God to rule me.
- 12:27I just want God to tell me what to do and when to go and tell me
- 12:32to do this and that even a good father wouldn't want children
- 12:36like that. And so it's interesting and it
- 12:41tells us how what to do, like exercise like.
- 12:44So it's it's not to be thankful and joyful and to prepare one
- 12:49another like he says in verse 14, and to forgive 1 of people
- 12:52that you've been forgiven and all that.
- 12:54That's something that takes a little bit of your mind
- 13:00exercising and remembering it. Yeah, you intentionally remember
- 13:05these things and you practice it and you walk it out.
- 13:09We just went through chapter 13 at First Corinthians at Church
- 13:11Sunday and that is a powerful, powerful book about love.
- 13:16And he's saying you can feed the poor.
- 13:17You can feed that you can give your life to be burnt at the
- 13:23stake for what you think is right.
- 13:25You can you can have faith, faith that will remove a
- 13:30mountain. But if you don't understand how
- 13:33to walk in the love of Christ, he's not really impressed.
- 13:36Like you're you're a symbol that represents something, but you're
- 13:40not it. You don't make any.
- 13:42When I hit the the string on the drum, it doesn't make even a
- 13:46sound. It's just dead.
- 13:48And so I think that's a lot what he's saying here.
- 13:53Live in the love of Christ and operate in it and be thankful.
- 13:59And what was it again? And let that word dwell in US
- 14:04richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another,
- 14:08psalms and hymns. It's something that we can be
- 14:11proactive with and it makes a difference if we get LAX and we
- 14:15don't, you know, we don't have the word in our minds.
- 14:19I'll tell you what, a lot of other stuff will come in really
- 14:22quickly that will take you down a negative road.
- 14:25And it's part of the Christian life is to let that word of God
- 14:29dwell in US. Richland I I I need to hear that
- 14:32so. Yeah, that's exactly right.
- 14:35It's it does something when it dwells in there.
- 14:39Yeah, that's that's so good, Andrew.
- 14:41I had to think when you were sharing that, that you know,
- 14:44when, when I am teaching my boys or even, you know, someone
- 14:49that's working for me, but mainly my boys to be a
- 14:52Carpenter, like I'm showing them what, what a Carpenter does, you
- 14:57know, like how a Carpenter does things right.
- 15:00And, and that's kind of what he's I really like how you
- 15:03pointed it out. That's what he's showing us
- 15:06here. You know, how the new man, what
- 15:09the new man looks like and how he acts right.
- 15:12And so because God doesn't have to be telling us every move to
- 15:16make it's just that simple, right?
- 15:18I mean, that would be that wouldn't be right.
- 15:21It would he wants us to be able to do things on her own and to
- 15:25live according to the his word on her own.
- 15:29I like what it says there. Let the word of Christ dwell in
- 15:32you richly in all wisdom because a lot of people read this verse
- 15:36and I've read it in the past like this as well.
- 15:39They like read this, you know, that teaching one another,
- 15:42monitoring one another in Psalms.
- 15:44And they're like, this is, you know, this is something that we
- 15:46need to be doing. I we, I need to do this.
- 15:49Well, yeah, it is saying that this is what it looks like when
- 15:54the when the word of Christ dwells in you.
- 15:58But let let it dwell in you. Like in other words, if you're
- 16:02trying to manufacture it. I think that so many times
- 16:04that's what happens when we go through these verses like this,
- 16:08when like you pointed out, Lian, just let the word of Christ
- 16:12dwell in you. It's already there.
- 16:14Christ already has provided that for us and we just need to let
- 16:18it dwell in US. And then out of that, I like
- 16:22what it said earlier about that. Above all these things in verse
- 16:2714 put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness that like
- 16:31you were pointed out, Andrew, that love is actually the love
- 16:37that we show to one another in the body of Christ in Christ is
- 16:43actually what bonds is a bond of perfectness because it is
- 16:49Christ, but it needs to be the focus.
- 16:51The Christ needs to be the focus and not that we're trying to
- 16:54love one another so that we are bond in perfectness, but that in
- 17:00Christ in us, we love one another and that makes us bond
- 17:05in perfectness. So anyway, this is very good.
- 17:08It's just a lot of rich teaching in here showing us how to how to
- 17:13live in the new Manda. Yeah, I, I like that where it
- 17:20says dwell with you richly and all wisdom.
- 17:24I think I would venture to say that that that word of Christ
- 17:28dwelling in you comes comes in the package of wisdom.
- 17:33Actually. I mean, you can, you could, you
- 17:35could know the word of God and it's still ineffective in your
- 17:40life. But once he's talking, if, if
- 17:42the, if the word of Christ dwells in you richly and it
- 17:47dwells in you because of the wisdom that God gave you, it's
- 17:52going to be different. I think in my own life, I
- 17:56actually, I actually saw that actually play out.
- 18:01I didn't just, you know, one day asked for wisdom and, and was a
- 18:04millionaire the next day. That's not how it works.
- 18:07But we, we started praying me and my wife specifically for
- 18:10wisdom and something changed. We started making different
- 18:15choices in our life. I guess I would say, you know
- 18:17what, it wasn't because I got smart.
- 18:19It was because, you know, God actually gave us wisdom to
- 18:22discern some things that we weren't previously would have
- 18:25deserved. And so it actually allowed us to
- 18:29dwell richly in Christ. I mean, I just, it is such a
- 18:34comfortable place to be knowing that God is going to lead us.
- 18:37He's going to guide us. He's never let going to let us
- 18:40know, you know, to our own destruction.
- 18:44But then he goes on talking about teaching and admonishing
- 18:47one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs.
- 18:50I just wonder, when was the last time that you saw that played
- 18:52out? Huh.
- 18:53I don't, I don't, I don't know if I did actually in that way.
- 18:58I mean, I've, I've been admonished and I've been taught,
- 19:03but you know, in, in songs and hymns and spiritual songs, I
- 19:06guess, you know, we get some of that on a Sunday morning when we
- 19:08sing it. And I definitely feel it and
- 19:10love it. But I just, I just think that's
- 19:13an interesting way to put it. And then Andrew really, really
- 19:17put the cap on there With grace in your hearts to the Lord.
- 19:20If it's if it's not with grace, it's that tingling symbol.
- 19:24Just make a noise. You're just, you're just playing
- 19:26the game if it's not with grace. Right.
- 19:28Amen. Yep.
- 19:32Good stuff. 17 And whatsoever you do in Word or deed, do it
- 19:36all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and
- 19:39the Father by him. I know I kind of bounced off of
- 19:42that one to get started a little bit, Andrew, but do you have any
- 19:45more thoughts on that one? Yeah, similar to what I pointed
- 19:50out Sunday about love, I've been kind of on this train of
- 19:56thought, if we so a lot of people want to know, how do you
- 20:01have a fellowship that works? How do you have people coming
- 20:05together? And you can be peacefully among
- 20:09each other and you can be admonished among each other.
- 20:12You can submit to each other. You can enjoy your fellowship.
- 20:16You can have good marriages, and you can have a really good
- 20:19church body of Christ coming together in a very positive way.
- 20:24And I found the solution. I know how it works.
- 20:31If you do live, if you try to live according to God's plan
- 20:37100% and you were able to do it 2%, it's going to work.
- 20:42That's how efficient God's plan is in my mind.
- 20:46If we would practice God's love, like you said, like he says
- 20:51here, the whole thing, we wouldn't have any church
- 20:53problems. That's the solution I.
- 20:57Agree. If and, we would actually live
- 21:02according to the new man. See, here he tells us about
- 21:06love, that Melvin pointed it out and in chapter 13 and 1st
- 21:12Corinthians, just love never seeks her own.
- 21:16It's always kind, every time. It's always kind and it never is
- 21:22puffed up, never vaunts itself. Even if it's doing a really good
- 21:25job, it doesn't try to make it sure people see it.
- 21:29That is doing a great job. So extremely humble.
- 21:32Nobody is trying to be significant.
- 21:35Everybody is just loving and enjoying the love of God and no
- 21:39agendas except glorifying the Lord Jesus Christ.
- 21:43And I'm telling you what Paul's telling us this here, everything
- 21:47you do have that love mindset and grace and man, you can have
- 21:54some good fellowship because nobody's there.
- 21:59If there's nobody there operating outside of the
- 22:03character of love, then it's just peaceful.
- 22:08You can even have disagreements and different views about
- 22:13whatever, but love allows that and grace to still for you to be
- 22:211. And it's the answer to church.
- 22:26It is the answer. It's to let the love of Christ
- 22:29dwell in US richly in the word of God and do everything in the
- 22:34name of the Lord. If we do that, that's the best
- 22:39life we can have in this before we go and meet him in the air
- 22:43like. Oh yeah.
- 22:45What a what advice. Like everything you do,
- 22:50everything you do, think of that.
- 22:53Even church meeting, even brothers meeting.
- 22:56Do that in the name of the Lord and you won't have to go home
- 23:00fighting and angry at your brother.
- 23:03And he says wisdom and he puts the word wisdom in there.
- 23:07You see, when there's church fightings, a lot of times it's
- 23:11there's some really idiots operating in the show.
- 23:16You have to have a lot of lack of wisdom to be fighting and
- 23:19having a church split over stupidest things like whether
- 23:24there should be Aaron attire or not.
- 23:25You know, like that it just not wisdom.
- 23:30I mean, if you look at the history of our ancestors, the
- 23:32way we split churches for the reasons, it's absolutely
- 23:36ridiculous and the stuff we fight about.
- 23:39I mean, my wife talks about churches in the Baptist circles
- 23:44fighting and having big quarrels about the color of a carpet.
- 23:50So wisdom is. Key, I think it is, I think, I
- 23:56think wisdom is kind of the I mean, yeah, love.
- 24:00Actually. What's that?
- 24:04Chapter 13 of First Corinthians says charity is above faith and
- 24:09hope. Yeah.
- 24:12Well, and we just in last week we read and above all these
- 24:15things put on charity. So love.
- 24:20But I don't think that we can practice that kind of love
- 24:23without wisdom. I don't think we have it in US.
- 24:27Yeah, I. Think it needs to be a mix of of
- 24:31that love in US acted out with godly wisdom.
- 24:35Otherwise you you aren't able to play it, play it out the way
- 24:38that it should be played out. And and many times we still come
- 24:40short melon. Yeah, I think you, you can't
- 24:44have love without wisdom. Like I think that comes as a
- 24:47package, right? I think So what if when we ask
- 24:50for wisdom from God, when we do that right, what are we thinking
- 24:55in our minds? We think that he's going to
- 24:58reveal great things to us, right?
- 25:00We're going to have knowledge of of scripture maybe, or I don't
- 25:04know what it is that what it could be.
- 25:07And sometimes he does. But what if when we ask for
- 25:10wisdom, he wants us to love our brother more or he wants us to
- 25:16work, you know, do these things like he's pointing out here that
- 25:21we should esteem one another. What is that's what wisdom
- 25:24actually is encompassed in wisdom, right?
- 25:28We think of these great things and to me, Love Actually
- 25:33according to God is a great thing, right?
- 25:35It obviously is because it's mentioned many times in the
- 25:38scripture. So that that's that is really
- 25:40good. And I so the biggest thing that
- 25:44that I see in this portion of Scripture that really jumps out
- 25:47to me is whatsoever ye do in Word or deed, whatsoever ye do
- 25:52there, it's not even specifically saying a certain
- 25:54thing here. Whatever you do, whatever that
- 25:57is, whatever that looks like, do it all in the name of the Lord
- 26:02Jesus. Now, this is another thing that
- 26:04kind of jumped out to me, who is the focus here?
- 26:08It is the Lord Jesus. Look what he says you all in the
- 26:11name of the Lord Jesus and giving thanks to God and the
- 26:14Father by him by Jesus. In other words, it's like Jesus
- 26:18is the focus and there's so many times like these arguments about
- 26:22what color should the carpet be in our church.
- 26:24It you're not looking to Jesus, right, You're think we're
- 26:28thinking about ourselves and and there's many other things, even
- 26:31things that I have done in the past like that right.
- 26:34And so the simple fact is it's about God and Jesus and the
- 26:39Kingdom of God and, and that's what our life should be about,
- 26:45not so much about the physical workings.
- 26:48And if I'm going to be comfortable or not comfortable,
- 26:51have red carpet or yellow carpet or whatever.
- 26:53It's about loving one another and keeping God and Jesus and
- 26:58the Kingdom of God is focus. Well, I, I would say that you,
- 27:05Melvin, you mentioned that, that you think they come as a
- 27:08package. I think they can actually be
- 27:09separated love and wisdom because what here's here's what
- 27:12happens if you have love without wisdom, you get gay pride, stuff
- 27:17like that, you know, just all inclusive love, as if everything
- 27:21you want to do or you wish to do all the love of God, you're
- 27:25good, you're good. You know, I'm just all I'm going
- 27:27to ever do is love you. That is that is love with it.
- 27:30That's love applied without wisdom right there.
- 27:33That one of them. There could be many other
- 27:35things, but then there's also the other side of the state.
- 27:37You know, I've gotten accused of just preaching the gospel and
- 27:41not caring, you know what people do, you know, where they want
- 27:45to, they think love should have a good sized sledgehammer with
- 27:48it, you know, like it should, it should come kind of as with that
- 27:51package and on that page either. But there is a godly love in
- 27:56wisdom that is actually the way that God would love someone.
- 28:01You know, you, you love righteousness.
- 28:03You, you hate unrighteousness. You know, both of those are
- 28:06love. You know, really.
- 28:10I don't know if I would say gay pride is love.
- 28:15Love. Love is a good thing.
- 28:18Gay is destructive. It's sin like it's wicked.
- 28:21It's evil. It's not love to tolerate evil,
- 28:24is it? No, it isn't, but they call it
- 28:27that. You know it's not, but it's not
- 28:29it's. Deceptive, though it's not
- 28:31actually love. Yeah.
- 28:33Yeah, you're right, Andrew. That's a good point.
- 28:38When I think, I think the other key is, is that we talked about
- 28:41this last week is that charity or love is agape.
- 28:45It's love in action like it, it's an action that is actually
- 28:50it's something that is happening.
- 28:52It's not a feeling or a brother they love or you know, or what
- 28:57love like they have for a wife. It is an action.
- 28:59It's an act of love. So how?
- 29:02How can we have a good discussion on how to balance out
- 29:06this charity thing? So in First Corinthians it talks
- 29:12about it and here it talks about it.
- 29:13And he also says in verse 14, I believe he says to let the peace
- 29:17of God rule, ease your hearts. Does that make you a pushover?
- 29:23Yeah, I actually had that exact same thought, Andrew.
- 29:28And I don't, I honestly don't know the answer to that.
- 29:30I've never been able to pin down.
- 29:32I was just talking with a with a brother last night actually
- 29:37about exactly like that. How much?
- 29:39How? What do you stand up suddenly
- 29:42and say, no, this is not right? Comes in First Corinthians, says
- 29:46charity beareth all things. And I kind of was stumped when I
- 29:52was going through that. I was like, I tried to say that
- 29:55that doesn't mean you're a pushover, but I don't know if
- 30:00what. How do you explain the good
- 30:01balance of that Jesus Christ? I look at him and he was
- 30:05definitely not a pushover, but yet he died for the whole world.
- 30:10So he bore all things. He bore the iniquity of us all.
- 30:16So I think probably the closest we can get is to embrace the
- 30:21truth, what we know, and stand for it.
- 30:24But the word fair doesn't change the gauge of our emotions.
- 30:32That's right. We're not measuring things by
- 30:34fairness. We're making measuring things by
- 30:36what's right and what's wrong. And if we get treated unfairly,
- 30:42love bears that like if we if somebody misrepresents us and
- 30:46reads into things what we were didn't mean or if we wrong
- 30:50somebody, we make it right even if the other person wronged us
- 30:53too or whatever. It's not keeping track of the
- 30:57what we call non fairness or unrighteousness or it wasn't
- 31:02somebody did that to me, but did you see what they did Like we
- 31:05don't do that. We don't fight like that.
- 31:07We bear those things but and let that peace of God rule your
- 31:13heart, not what looked like it was injustice.
- 31:17Yeah, not the strife and the stern, you know, Not the 70 * 7.
- 31:22Yeah, Wouldn't you feel like that what he's going at?
- 31:24He's not telling us if somebody's going to come and
- 31:28just bully you and take all your money, you just allow them to do
- 31:32that. Or if somebody wants to be your
- 31:33business partner and they decide to run your business in the
- 31:38ground, you're just supposed to lay over.
- 31:41I think we're supposed to be good stewards.
- 31:42I think we're supposed to be responsible with our money.
- 31:46We don't let evil just run with our like.
- 31:48If we would be like that, we would never get anywhere.
- 31:53Yeah, well. Yeah, I don't know either
- 31:55because first Peter 4 says this verse 8 and above all things
- 32:00have fervent charity among yourselves for charity shall
- 32:02cover the multitude of sin I feel wait a minute now.
- 32:07And it says use hospitality one to another without grudging like
- 32:12he never so so is there an exception there to not be
- 32:16hospitable towards somebody? I mean, I I agree with what
- 32:21you're saying, Andrew. That's that's where I stand too.
- 32:23But I don't know if it's necessarily a selfish stance or
- 32:26a biblical 1. Honestly, I don't know.
- 32:29Well, a lot of people go to that verse where it says is that I
- 32:32think it might be in Corinthians where it says that if a brother
- 32:35is a railer, an accuser or whatever that you should not eat
- 32:38with such a 1. You know, a lot of people go to
- 32:40that to go to the other side and say, well, I can't bear all
- 32:44things right. But to me like that is what it
- 32:49says there is true. He says not to eat with such a
- 32:52one, but he doesn't say that we need to like like you're not
- 32:56like you're totally going to cut that person off of your life, so
- 32:59to speak. He says don't eat with him,
- 33:01like, you know, don't, don't, and I think it does say another
- 33:05place, something about not associating with such a one and
- 33:11or something. I should look that up.
- 33:13I don't. So I there is, there is a
- 33:16balance, right? But where that I know I'm kind
- 33:22of like you guys, I'm not sure exactly what that all exactly
- 33:24looks like 'cause it gets misused in both directions, like
- 33:29the love side and also standing for, you know, what's the truth.
- 33:33So and I think it's about it has to be a bounce somehow it.
- 33:40Kind of swinging back to a little bit of finances.
- 33:42So we were, I was talking with a guy this week about he's like,
- 33:46how do you like, how do, what is your what, how do you do it?
- 33:50Like it seems like you get all these bills or you got all this
- 33:53stuff and all of a sudden you're putting in a pickleball accord
- 33:55and that cost like, how do you get all that?
- 33:57Like, how does that just how do you pay for these things?
- 34:01And I don't really have a a plan except I know that this is all
- 34:08temporal and I'm not married to anything.
- 34:11And there's a verse that says if you're a food and raiment to be
- 34:15there with contempt. So I'm not very tight gripped on
- 34:19things and I'm always trying to help others.
- 34:23I don't know why it seems like I get blessed pretty good with
- 34:27great jobs just coming up. I don't know what the solution
- 34:30is, except for the fact that I think there's a lot to being
- 34:34charitable to not have a tight grip on your stuff.
- 34:39Like I try to let people use everything I got, you know, I
- 34:43but not in a foolish way for people with just take advantage
- 34:47of and abuse it or break it or whatever, like.
- 34:50And the where I get try to bring that balance is, is you read the
- 34:55proverbs like it tells you if you do the 123, you will get
- 35:00456. You know, like don't even answer
- 35:03a fool. That's right.
- 35:05Like a wise guy won't even do this with like a wise guy won't
- 35:10do this and this and this because that leads to
- 35:12destruction. A foolish man that's 1-2 and
- 35:16three and he gets that. So obviously God's telling us,
- 35:19you know what, you can be wise with your stuff and you'll
- 35:22prosper. Talks a lot about prospering in
- 35:25the book of Proverbs. But is that exactly the the new
- 35:29covenant method? The the principles, the
- 35:34principles apply. They're they're true regardless
- 35:37which covenant you're in. So, yeah, I mean, there's
- 35:40there's definitely an element there.
- 35:42Well, one thing regarding this subject of, you know, how much
- 35:44should you, you know, cover in love and charity and how much
- 35:49should you stand up for whatever for myself.
- 35:52And again, I don't know that I could necessarily flesh this out
- 35:56of the Bible, but now I would I would deal differently probably
- 35:59with with an unbeliever that I would with a brother in a lot of
- 36:04you know. There's actually scripture for
- 36:08that. Yeah, well, it there is.
- 36:10I agree. It, it, it.
- 36:12But even here in Colossians, if you think about the context,
- 36:15he's talking about a church. He's not talking about getting
- 36:20along with the world. He's not talking about preaching
- 36:22the gospel being mixed in the world.
- 36:24He's not. This is this is a letter to the
- 36:26church, the believers on how to how to live.
- 36:30So we got to be careful kind of when we look at this, this is
- 36:33not all inclusive, you know. So I don't know if that helps
- 36:37terrified at all, but I I think about that a little bit.
- 36:39I think that's a very valid point you.
- 36:42Know no, that is for sure because you're going to there
- 36:45the Bible says that if you have a brother you have you haven't
- 36:50if your brother has a need, it says and you have the ability to
- 36:53fulfill that need that you should do that right.
- 36:56And so it doesn't say that about an unbeliever.
- 37:00I think there's, I don't know, I think there is a, we need to
- 37:05look at it with love, right? I mean all things, if we look at
- 37:10all things and like even the love chapter, like you pointed
- 37:14out, Andrew, it says there that you do all these things without
- 37:19love. So it's not saying that we
- 37:21shouldn't do these things, that you shouldn't do anything
- 37:24without love. So if we do, if we make sure we
- 37:27are approaching all situations with love, I think God gives us
- 37:33the wisdom like we were talking about on what for direction we
- 37:37should go, if we should be strong towards this situation or
- 37:43let it you know. Be so basically we need to wear
- 37:48love goggles with wisdom lenses. Yeah, that's.
- 37:53What that's That could be a good illustration.
- 37:55Yeah, you know, and and we we got to be careful of the image
- 37:58of Christ to the outside world. I mean, the Bible does tell us
- 38:01to, you know, to have a good report with those that are
- 38:06without too. So I just go ramrod over those
- 38:10that are outside. Amen.
- 38:12Got to be conscious of that, but I do think we treat that we we
- 38:15deal with them a little bit differently probably.
- 38:17But the verse that kills me is where it says to if somebody has
- 38:21a need for something and you have it to let him have it, not
- 38:24expecting or asking for it to be returned.
- 38:28Yeah. Like, does that mean if somebody
- 38:32wants about $75,000 skid steer and they just need it?
- 38:36So there it is. And I keep making the payments
- 38:39but. You're supposed to pay cash for
- 38:44your stuff. And that's why you pay cash for
- 38:48everything. That's a good point.
- 38:53Yeah, yeah. Again, I think a little wisdom
- 38:56there. I don't know.
- 38:57Yeah. All right.
- 39:00Well, hey, we got this pretty well, pretty well thrashed out.
- 39:04I think we got it pretty well figured out.
- 39:06Let's go on to a subject that we will never figure out.
- 39:11Oh boy. Wives, submit yourselves unto
- 39:14your own husband's as it is fitted the Lord.
- 39:18I don't think we could talk about that verse much here
- 39:20because it's not a it's not asking us for our opinion is
- 39:23talking to the wives there. But let you go ahead with
- 39:26whatever you got, Andrew. Yeah, in that regard, the way I
- 39:33view that as a man, I would never suggest to my wife what
- 39:41her role is. Yeah.
- 39:45If I have to tell her to submit to me, then I think the problem
- 39:51is me. I think I don't like this idea
- 39:56of men thinking that they're meant by making their wife honor
- 40:01them and submit to them and they don't give her a voice.
- 40:04And like, I think that's kind of how it's been the reaction from
- 40:10people that have gotten a hold of the idea that a man is
- 40:13supposed to be a man and the women are supposed to play their
- 40:16role. Yes, 90 probably 95% of marriage
- 40:21is the women run the show and that's not right.
- 40:25But how many times that is the case because the man wasn't the
- 40:29man. I would say private the
- 40:33percentages are probably about that high is because the man
- 40:37didn't do his job. So there was a lot of boy a wise
- 40:42guy was actually Mike Pearl. I asked him, how do you keep
- 40:47people from trying to hijack your vision when you're starting
- 40:52up a church? And he says preach the full
- 40:55gospel and don't have big voids. When there's a big vacuum and a
- 41:02void, people can come in and fill that.
- 41:06And like, that's how you you get hijacked because somebody else
- 41:10is feeling something that you're not that the people are needing.
- 41:14There's a void, there's a genuine something lacking and I
- 41:18think that when a wife doesn't can't comfortably submit and
- 41:23honor and respect you, it's because you're not honorable and
- 41:26respectable either. You're very foolish with your
- 41:29business deals. Back to business.
- 41:31That's a big one that I think the largest percentage of people
- 41:35getting divorced, it has to do with finances.
- 41:39But a lot of the fights are surrounded by finances.
- 41:43It's really hard for a woman to respect her husband when she
- 41:46doesn't know where the next meal is going to come from.
- 41:49We're out of money, but yet he's upset that she's not making the
- 41:52payments or whatever if she's doing the paperwork.
- 41:55And then he goes and buys something stupid or he, he
- 41:59starts telemarketing and it falls flat right in there.
- 42:09You know, So I think if you're a man and you're providing, most
- 42:14women love that, especially if they read this.
- 42:19Now there's women that don't read this and they don't believe
- 42:21in the idea of submitting. But then you just marry someone
- 42:25that you shouldn't have married as a believer.
- 42:27And if you were married as unbelievers and you're now, now
- 42:30it's your job to win her with the word.
- 42:32And look at God's design. God's design is, is that the man
- 42:36leads and the woman supports him.
- 42:38And they, they're A-Team, but the man is the head of the home.
- 42:42And you can come up with all the reasons of why it works better
- 42:45the other way. If you, if you think you're
- 42:48doing it better the other way, then you're doing it better,
- 42:51better your way than God's way is all I can tell you.
- 42:53God's still his plan is. That is God's plan.
- 42:58Yeah. Yeah, If you as a husband use
- 43:00this verse to subdue your wife, you're, you ought to go get a
- 43:07job. Yeah, that's all there is to it.
- 43:10That's really the way it is. I I think in a lot of cases I
- 43:14tell my wife sometimes why you ought to listen to me.
- 43:17That says in the Bible you should know.
- 43:18But you know, of course. Yeah, it does.
- 43:24This doesn't mean that your wife is a doormat, you know?
- 43:29I mean, it's just that simple, right?
- 43:32Because we use this verse. So I've heard of men using this
- 43:35verse, but yeah, I was going to also kind of go down that road
- 43:39like you did, Andrew I there's this verse in Ephesians 5 and we
- 43:44hear this verse over and over again.
- 43:46It says, wives, submit yourselves into your own
- 43:49husbands as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of
- 43:52the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church and he is the
- 43:56Savior of the body. So if you're, if you're right,
- 44:00if your wife is not submitting or has an issue submitting, then
- 44:06it it has to be the husband is the problem is at least majority
- 44:11of the problem, because it says here that the husband is ahead
- 44:14of the life. And so that's pretty clear.
- 44:17And then first Corinthians 11, it points that out through the
- 44:20headship order. And so if you're the head or the
- 44:24leader, right, then it is our responsibility as men to make
- 44:30sure that we are being submittable.
- 44:32Like, you know, as we're acting in a way, are leading in a way.
- 44:37And maybe we're not leading. Like I have been guilty of this
- 44:39in my own marriage of the past. Is, is maybe I'm being passive
- 44:44like I am, I am not stepping up to the plate.
- 44:47I am not leading because like, I don't see myself as a person
- 44:52that doesn't provide for my family.
- 44:54And so maybe I am providing for my family like physically, like
- 44:58with money and with physical things.
- 45:01But maybe I'm not being the leader.
- 45:03I'm not stepping up and being the man that I need to be.
- 45:05And therefore my wife has a hard time submitting to me because
- 45:09I'm not being a leader. I need to be in my home and in
- 45:13my house and with my children and in my marriage, right?
- 45:16And, and I can be providing physically and providing with
- 45:22money, but I'm not, and therefore she's has a problem
- 45:25submitting. I've been guilty of that in the
- 45:27past. So it, it, it boils down to US,
- 45:30man, right? I mean, it's just that simple.
- 45:32If your wife is not submitting, then what's going on?
- 45:36What's going on with with you as the head and as a leader and as
- 45:40a man of the house? It's good.
- 45:44We're we're kind of beaten up on the guys a lot.
- 45:48And a lot of times we do that and part of being the head of
- 45:54the house is to not allow the woman to run the show to a
- 45:59certain extent. Like, and my wife would all of a
- 46:02sudden be like, Hey, I want to do this.
- 46:05And I was see that it's not a good idea.
- 46:07I was like, no, that's not a good idea.
- 46:08We're not doing that. Like that's part of leading.
- 46:11Like there's a, I'm going to say a little bit something to the
- 46:17women. I guess.
- 46:19I don't want to be the older woman teaching the younger
- 46:21women, but if the woman would just realize that if you support
- 46:27cause a lot of times they say, well, my husband is just a duck.
- 46:29Like he's just, he's just so unwise and so childish and how
- 46:34can I ever trust him? Well, if you're constantly
- 46:37telling him that that he's just a Nimrod like you can't he's
- 46:43irresponsible and he just like you're constantly nagging him,
- 46:46That's probably what he'll be No treat him.
- 46:49Try treating him like the man that you want him to be, not
- 46:53some husbands if they're selfish, if they're not
- 46:55Christian and you're not Christian, it's obvious not it's
- 46:58not doesn't have that love thing and do all in the name of the
- 47:01Lord. It's just not going to work
- 47:03anyway. But if you're doing the for you
- 47:05to do the right thing, it's not based on whether the husband's
- 47:09doing the right thing. And for me to do God's plan is
- 47:14not only supposed to be done if my wife's doing her part right,
- 47:20my job is to love her and to lead her and to lay my life down
- 47:23for her. That's my job.
- 47:24It doesn't say unless she's a witch, you know?
- 47:29So do your part. And if you submit to your
- 47:31husband, you honor him. You'd be surprised what a
- 47:34childish dude will do if he gets respected like a man.
- 47:38All of a sudden he starts his chest starts popping out a
- 47:40little bit, starts kind of being more responsible.
- 47:45Let him fall. Let him do stupid deals and
- 47:47learn from him instead. If always, just like I told you
- 47:50not to do that. And then he's just going to
- 47:52always try to see what he can do to prove himself.
- 47:54Let him let him learn the hard way, get creative in providing
- 48:00in certain ways. But I would say if he's there's
- 48:02no food on the table and he made a stupid deal, don't put any
- 48:05food on the table. Don't go out of your way to take
- 48:09away the consequences of his choices, but don't be a witch
- 48:13about it. There's a lot of women that
- 48:16control their husbands in a way of in like this godly smile that
- 48:22just ticks me off. Instead of controlling him in a
- 48:27nasty way. They're like, I must think the
- 48:29neighbors should do it. Like just shut out like.
- 48:32It's the same thing. It's so nasty.
- 48:35It's, it's, I'd rather be yelled at than that.
- 48:37You know, it's like, was she, you know, that trying to do this
- 48:40sweet controlling? You know it's awful when the
- 48:44husband does things against his own wisdom just because you want
- 48:49to be less miserable. Yeah, anybody that, yeah,
- 48:54anybody that would know me, that's how it was for us, 100%.
- 48:58I I was the nib rod, you know better.
- 49:01The buddy that we didn't. I was, I'll be the first.
- 49:04We were so far in debt and I was doing stupid stuff and it really
- 49:08turned around once my wife just let me crash and burn.
- 49:12There you go. Was trying to keep propping it
- 49:14up, keep trying to, you know, convince me to do the right
- 49:16thing. And, you know, upon advice from
- 49:20others, she quit doing that. And we ran into trouble.
- 49:23We were going to lose the farm. We were going to lose the the
- 49:25place we let it was going to bankruptcy.
- 49:28And all of a sudden, I was like, wait a minute, we're going to
- 49:32have to do something about this. Yeah.
- 49:35That's actually kind of where our story started, on our way
- 49:39back to God or to God was kind. Of through that.
- 49:48Yeah. Wouldn't that almost be a form
- 49:50of submission? Maybe?
- 49:52I mean, you know, what I'm getting at is like, so if your
- 49:55wife is just like always propping you up, like if your if
- 49:59your husband is being thingbat right and you're always propping
- 50:02him up, then that is kind of being like, that's what leads to
- 50:08unsubmissiveness because of what's going to happen.
- 50:11If you're if a husband is acting like that and you do that, he is
- 50:15going to just sit back and say, all right, fine, she's going to
- 50:17do it. Then I'll just let her do it,
- 50:19right. And so if you let him crash and
- 50:22burn, that is kind of like almost like you're submitting in
- 50:27a sense, so to speak, in my mind.
- 50:29Yeah, stop. Stop making the softening the
- 50:32landing. Yeah, for sure.
- 50:35And a lot of times it's really hard to do that because you're
- 50:38worried about what the neighbors think, you know?
- 50:42Or how your kids get treated or whatever.
- 50:44It's, I mean, it's a real fear. It's, it's not, I mean, it's
- 50:47definitely not ideal. It's awful, but it's still the
- 50:50best thing to do is let it. That's right.
- 50:53It's often a shame thing. People are afraid to be.
- 50:56Yeah, so. Well, that was an awful lot from
- 51:00I was going to say. That was an awful lot of talk
- 51:02from three men on a verse that's addressed to wives.
- 51:07All right, let's see what they says about us.
- 51:09I was love your wives and be not bitter against him.
- 51:12I suppose we probably don't have much to say about this.
- 51:18I mean, there, I don't know how much discussion is really here.
- 51:20Love your wives. I mean, we were talking earlier
- 51:22about love. Can we do that with our wives in
- 51:27the way that we were discussing charity, you know, covering a
- 51:31multitude of sin, being long-suffering, you know, having
- 51:35that humbleness of mind, the bowels of mercy, kindness,
- 51:37long-suffering for bearing one another, all that.
- 51:40You know that that comes in that same package with your wife too.
- 51:43Not just as brother against or brother with brother doesn't,
- 51:47but Andrew. Yeah, so I really believe
- 51:53Satan's number one, the dark side, like the the world,
- 51:58everything that is of evil dark, their number one attack.
- 52:04And even in the even politics, it's all in the politics is to
- 52:09if they can get you against your spouse, like if they can
- 52:13separate the home. So it's a number one attack and
- 52:18the first things we do is we start keeping score.
- 52:21What was that all about? You know, like we're like, look
- 52:25what what's she doing? And she's not even thinking
- 52:27anything. She's wondering why I'm acting
- 52:30weird. And I was like, well, you just
- 52:32did this and this and this and this.
- 52:33Just tell me if you're mad at me.
- 52:35Just like, what's the problem? And she didn't even know she's
- 52:38doing it. Like we're all of a sudden
- 52:41gathering clues of how she's acting and we're adding it up.
- 52:45And all of a sudden we got this big mountain of evidence that we
- 52:48think we gathered that she's trying to just aggravate me.
- 52:51She's trying to and it's not even wasn't even the case.
- 52:56She's not communicating and I started keeping track of things
- 53:00and adding things up and gathering all these clues and
- 53:03getting all upset and worked up. And it's the opposite of love.
- 53:09I wanted to say if you marry a good one like I did, it just
- 53:12comes naturally, but it's just not true.
- 53:14You can, you can. You can marry the best one in
- 53:18the world and it's still so much under attack that you still have
- 53:22to choose unconditional love every day.
- 53:26That's a good point. It's a choice.
- 53:31Yeah, that's right. I think the biggest attack
- 53:33against our marriage personally, just speaking about our me and
- 53:37my wife is, is that is, is that Satan is trying to get us apart
- 53:42and trying to be me trying to be better and you know, just trying
- 53:47to make things like you said, keeping score.
- 53:49Like I've done this in the past where I thinking, all right, so
- 53:53that's one out, but run out, right?
- 53:57And three, two more outs and I'm out, right?
- 54:01I mean, honestly, and that is so when I, when I actually, when we
- 54:06sit down and and talk this over and I look back at that and I
- 54:11and I'm like, that is so stupid. Why did I even think that way?
- 54:15But, and here's the thing I was going to say about bitterness,
- 54:18so it says and be not bitter against it.
- 54:22So in my personal experience, I'm just talking from my own
- 54:25personal experience, when I become bitter towards my wife,
- 54:29it's, it's thoughts that I'm thinking in my head and I'm not
- 54:32communicating with my wife openly verbally, I'm not
- 54:37communicating with her about things that are going on or
- 54:42whatever. And I'm just entertaining,
- 54:44entertaining thoughts in my mind, right?
- 54:47And that just becomes this huge snowball that after a while I
- 54:54actually become bitter towards her or against her.
- 54:58And that is what Satan wants. And so I think that's what he is
- 55:02admonishing us here. What it looks like is the new
- 55:06man right again so. I know me and my wife have
- 55:11talked about it. I think it breaks down.
- 55:14This is the point where where relationships start breaking
- 55:17down. I I could be wrong but my
- 55:20opinion again. But when once, once you are
- 55:23convinced that your wife does not have your best interest in
- 55:27yeah or vice versa, that's right.
- 55:30When you become convinced of that, that is where the problems
- 55:34really start because that's where you're going to start
- 55:36being suspicious about everything she says or she what
- 55:40you say or whatever. So if you're not convinced that
- 55:44your spouse does not have your best interest in mind when she's
- 55:47making choices or decisions or saying things, I would highly
- 55:51recommend that you guys get to the same page and get that
- 55:54figured out because that is a breeding ground for suspicion
- 55:59and and it's going to kill you. It it absolutely will if you
- 56:02don't address it. What do you do if you are in a
- 56:04situation? I know of people that are in
- 56:06situations where she actually doesn't have the best interest
- 56:08in mind, or at least it appears that way.
- 56:11That's rough. I would say probably at the
- 56:13winter like. Yeah.
- 56:16Winter. Go over to the verses where it
- 56:18talks about being long-suffering and meek, having a hominus of
- 56:22mind, that kind of thing. Winter back.
- 56:24We haven't, we haven't talked about sex yet, but if when you
- 56:28when you're bitter and you let things pile up, it's not going
- 56:32to you're not going to have a good time at night.
- 56:36And I would also just say to the guys that are complaining that
- 56:39they can't get it or whatever, get creative again.
- 56:43You were able to trick her. If you're not having fun now,
- 56:48you were able to trick her when you were dating.
- 56:52You got her to want to be with you and all crazy about you.
- 56:56Well, do it again. Get creative, start dating
- 57:00again, start the romance, use your imagination, put all the
- 57:05things that you thinkers you don't like or whatever aside for
- 57:08a minute and bury all the hatchets and start flirting
- 57:12again. And all of a sudden you might
- 57:14think your wife is not as bad as you thought or vice versa.
- 57:16Your husband, I told you, forgetting everything and start
- 57:20messing around again. That's right.
- 57:23Doing that intentionally is actually a pretty big deal
- 57:27because if you don't, if you aren't intentional about it, it
- 57:30gets slowly kind of forgotten in a way.
- 57:33So yeah, that's that's. I say, I say, good sex covers a
- 57:36multitude of transgressions, too.
- 57:40You're right about that one, Andrew.
- 57:42Amen. It's true.
- 57:43It is Your attitude changes towards like there's a reason
- 57:48got or designed it that way. Likely like, yeah, everybody's
- 57:53happier after all. That that quote came right out
- 57:57of Fresh Rockians. Yeah, OK.
- 58:06I feel like, oh, you met Aidan. I still have him calling me and
- 58:11he'll say, what is that one thing that you guys said one
- 58:15time that we. Oh, first he's.
- 58:18A shroud? No.
- 58:21Jesus Shrop. Oh, is it Shrop Jesus or Jesus
- 58:23shrop or something? Yeah.
- 58:25Jesus Shrop. It's funny.
- 58:30Well, I think we're up against the clock again.
- 58:33We're about out of time, so it's a good spot to stop.
- 58:36We're going to talk about children and fathers and
- 58:38servants and stuff like that next week, so.
- 58:41And all the married guys, it's night time, so.
- 58:44What's that? I've been all the married guys.
- 58:46It's night time, so. Yeah, that's right.
- 58:49But if you're. Bitter.
- 58:50If you're bitter against your wife, get that straightened out
- 58:52first before you start. Before you take her to bed.
- 58:55Because it didn't tell. What if you aren't bitter?
- 58:58You know what I'm saying? Yeah, don't be bitter.
- 59:02Don't be bitter. That's that's the that's.
- 59:04The show. I know that from experience for
- 59:06sure. All righty, sounds good.
- 59:09You guys have a good week. God bless you and thanks for
- 59:12your time and effort tonight. We'll see you back same time,
- 59:15same place, previous episodes, simply Christ ministries.
