Mega Edition: Jeffrey Epstein And The Art Of The Stash (10/8/26) · The Epstein Chronicles

0:00
Speaker 1: What's up everyone, and welcome back to the Epstein Chronicles.
0:05
Speaker 1: One of the most confounding parts of the whole entire
0:08
Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein investigation, the Jeffrey Epstein Sorted Affair, is the
0:13
Speaker 1: fact that his financials have never even really been fleshed out. Oh,
0:18
Speaker 1: of course they'll tell you, he's worth $ 634 million. Well,
0:24
Speaker 1: we know he's worth more than that, and we know
0:26
Speaker 1: that he was moving money all over the place as
0:29
Speaker 1: far as offshore. He had Liquid Limited. He had a
0:35
Speaker 1: trove of different offshore companies that he was facilitating all
0:39
Speaker 1: of his financial transactions through. That way, he didn't have
0:43
Speaker 1: to pay taxes. He could keep things secret. And all
0:47
Speaker 1: of the other people that were financially connected to him,
0:50
Speaker 1: they would be able to maintain their air of secrecy
0:53
Speaker 1: as well. And this whole entire thing was facilitated, not
0:58
Speaker 1: only by Epstein, but by the financial sector itself. Yeah,
1:02
Speaker 1: Jeff Staley had no idea what Epstein was up to, sure.
1:05
Speaker 1: Barron Stearns had no idea what Epstein was up to, sure.
1:12
Speaker 1: It's an absolute joke to think that the financial sector
1:15
Speaker 1: was caught unaware by Jeffrey Epstein. They were complicit. They
1:22
Speaker 1: helped facilitate everything. all of this money laundering, and they
1:25
Speaker 1: continue to do so on a regular basis. How do
1:29
Speaker 1: we know that? Well, there has been several leaks throughout
1:32
Speaker 1: the years that have led us directly down this path.
1:37
Speaker 1: And one of those leaks that contained a lot of
1:40
Speaker 1: information about Jeffrey Epstein, about 500 pages worth, are the
1:44
Speaker 1: Paradise Papers. Now, we've talked about the Paradise Papers before.
1:48
Speaker 1: But that was quite some time ago. So I thought
1:51
Speaker 1: this week what we would do is dive back into
1:53
Speaker 1: the financials a little bit and talk a little bit
1:56
Speaker 1: more about Jeffrey Epstein's money offshore and how he was
2:00
Speaker 1: able to hide it, how he was able to move it,
2:03
Speaker 1: and why there was no investigation into any of it.
2:09
Speaker 1: You would think that if they weren't able to get
2:10
Speaker 1: him on crimes against, you know, women or whatever, that
2:13
Speaker 1: you'd at least be able to get him on the
2:15
Speaker 1: money angle. Remember, that's how they got Al Capone, right?
2:18
Speaker 1: They couldn't make anything else stick, so they went after
2:21
Speaker 1: his financials, found out dude didn't pay his taxes. Bingo bango.
2:26
Speaker 1: So for me, I don't really care how people like
2:29
Speaker 1: Epstein end up in prison. I only care that they
2:31
Speaker 1: end up there. And the fact that there was never
2:35
Speaker 1: a real look at the financial angle of this, I
2:38
Speaker 1: mean a real look, is just confounding. Because there's so
2:42
Speaker 1: much to be mapped out here. There is so much
2:45
Speaker 1: to be found within the financials of Jeffrey Epstein and
2:49
Speaker 1: everybody he was giving money to or receiving money from.
2:54
Speaker 1: So today's article is from Law and Crime. Headline, is
2:58
Speaker 1: tracking Jeffrey Epstein's offshore money even possible? This article was
3:03
Speaker 1: authored by Matt Klibunoff and it was originally published on
3:07
Speaker 1: July 18th of 2019. A new set of documents released
3:14
Speaker 1: on Thursday seemed to paint a clearer picture of Jeffrey
3:17
Speaker 1: Epstein's finances. These papers, obtained by the Miami Herald, were
3:22
Speaker 1: released after prosecutors in the Epstein case expressed their dismay
3:26
Speaker 1: at the vagueness of the report Epstein's attorneys released earlier
3:30
Speaker 1: this week in a bid to persuade the judge to
3:33
Speaker 1: grant Epstein bail. So they tried to release... a picture
3:37
Speaker 1: of what Epstein was worth, right? Oh, he has this
3:40
Speaker 1: amount of money here, this amount of money there. This
3:43
Speaker 1: is what we can offer in bail. But nobody ever
3:47
Speaker 1: got a real look and a real accounting for just
3:50
Speaker 1: exactly what Jeffrey Epstein had. So, obviously, we have the
3:56
Speaker 1: official narrative number, $ 634 million, but there's no way that
4:01
Speaker 1: that is the end number for a guy like Epstein.
4:04
Speaker 1: And my guess is here, folks, now I don't have
4:06
Speaker 1: any evidence to prove this, but my guess is that
4:09
Speaker 1: there's even offshore accounts that we have no idea about.
4:13
Speaker 1: Offshore accounts that Indyke and Khan... Maybe Maxwell, maybe they
4:17
Speaker 1: have an idea. But as far as the rest of
4:21
Speaker 1: the world, us, the general public, who knows if we'll
4:24
Speaker 1: ever get a real look behind the curtain of Jeffrey
4:27
Speaker 1: Epstein's financials. Because the federal government, they haven't went hard here.
4:33
Speaker 1: You would think that they'd be going absolutely bananas tracing
4:35
Speaker 1: this down and connecting the dots. Because when you're talking
4:39
Speaker 1: about a gigantic RICO case, it doesn't take much. Those
4:44
Speaker 1: predicates are set up in such a way that it
4:46
Speaker 1: does not take much for them to really bring you
4:49
Speaker 1: in and ruin your life. According to the records, Epstein
4:56
Speaker 1: became a client of Appleby, a Bermuda-based law firm specializing
5:00
Speaker 1: in the creation of offshore investment vehicles, in February of 1997.
5:06
Speaker 1: His client profile describes him as a manager of fortune.
5:10
Speaker 1: On the same Applebee's client list, Epstein's former business partner,
5:14
Speaker 1: Les Wexner. Now, Applebee is a huge law firm down
5:18
Speaker 1: in Bermuda, and they really help facilitate setting up these
5:23
Speaker 1: LLCs and, you know, other things in the legal realm.
5:27
Speaker 1: But they have been connected to this sort of thing
5:30
Speaker 1: for quite some time, and the Paradise Papers really outed them.
5:35
Speaker 1: So we're going to talk more about Appleby and who
5:37
Speaker 1: they are later on as far as a company and
5:41
Speaker 1: a business. But this has been their bread and butter, really.
5:45
Speaker 1: And the guy like Jeffrey Epstein, a guy like Les Wexner,
5:47
Speaker 1: you know, they don't want to pay their taxes. You
5:50
Speaker 1: think these guys want to pay 33% plus whatever comes
5:54
Speaker 1: on top of it? Hell no, they don't. These dudes
5:56
Speaker 1: are greedy as the day is long. So they're going
5:59
Speaker 1: to do everything in their power to use loopholes and
6:01
Speaker 1: try and hide this money. Meanwhile, me and you are
6:05
Speaker 1: sending out big gigantic fat tax bills every year, and
6:08
Speaker 1: we're expected to do it with a smile on our face.
6:14
Speaker 1: These documents also show that Epstein was chairman of Liquid
6:17
Speaker 1: Funding Limited, a company that Epstein's former employer, Bear Stearns,
6:21
Speaker 1: had a 40% stake in until Stearns collapsed in 2008.
6:26
Speaker 1: I mean, is it any coincidence? That Jeffrey Epstein was
6:30
Speaker 1: part of the biggest disgusting collapse on Wall Street. I mean,
6:35
Speaker 1: for real, for real. Bear Stearns, Lehman Brothers. You know,
6:39
Speaker 1: he was part of all of this shit right in
6:41
Speaker 1: the middle of it. With his gross ass hands and
6:43
Speaker 1: many pies. According to Marcus Klug, a former director of
6:51
Speaker 1: Liquid Funding. There was neither a physical board meeting or
6:54
Speaker 1: a call between board members. In fact, Klug said he
6:57
Speaker 1: never even met Epstein. None of that ever added up
6:59
Speaker 1: to me, okay? This Marcus Klug character talking about, oh,
7:03
Speaker 1: there was never a meeting. I never met Jeffrey Epstein.
7:06
Speaker 1: So you're just going to sit on the board and
7:08
Speaker 1: pretend that something's going on? I mean, what is this?
7:12
Speaker 1: American Psycho, you want to have the cool business card?
7:15
Speaker 1: I don't understand what that even means. There was never
7:18
Speaker 1: a physical meeting or a call between board members. So
7:20
Speaker 1: how is it a board? Still, it's unclear how long
7:26
Speaker 1: Epstein ran liquid funding or how much his involvement ties
7:30
Speaker 1: into his losing money during the financial crisis of 2008.
7:34
Speaker 1: Epstein did lose a lot of money during the financial crisis,
7:38
Speaker 1: but that was all the upfront money that we've seen.
7:41
Speaker 1: Who knows what's going on behind the scenes? This guy
7:42
Speaker 1: had investments all over the world. From Asia all the
7:47
Speaker 1: way to America and everywhere in between. That said, liquid
7:54
Speaker 1: funding was dealing in risky mortgage securities similar to the
7:58
Speaker 1: ones that caused Bear Stearns to go bankrupt. Look, of
8:02
Speaker 1: course he was. That's where he learned all of this, right?
8:06
Speaker 1: He learned all of his insider trading, all of his
8:09
Speaker 1: bullshit at Bear Stearns. They were obviously running some sort
8:13
Speaker 1: of scam operation there as well. Probably some sort of
8:16
Speaker 1: boiler room operation we still don't know anything about. Epstein's
8:21
Speaker 1: client profile also has references to the amount of money
8:25
Speaker 1: he had in two bank accounts from 2006 to 2007.
8:26
Speaker 1: One account was listed with $ 880, 507 and the other with
8:30
Speaker 1: a high of $ 3. 46 million. While a lot of money
8:31
Speaker 1: to the average worker, these sums are far lower than
8:34
Speaker 1: the value of his holdings, which his attorneys claimed is
8:37
Speaker 1: $ 559 million. And we know what it ended up being
8:48
Speaker 1: more than that. The official number that they settled on
8:51
Speaker 1: was $ 634 million. Now, my guess is they had a
8:55
Speaker 1: dartboard and they threw some darts to get to that number. But,
8:59
Speaker 1: you know, here we are. Epstein's documents went public in
9:05
Speaker 1: 2017 when the Paradise Papers were sent to German newspaper,
9:10
Speaker 1: a representative with Applebee reached out to say that the
9:13
Speaker 1: data hack was a criminal act. the work of a
9:16
Speaker 1: sophisticated cyber criminal, and did not involve anyone at Appleby
9:21
Speaker 1: leaking the documents. So that's important for them to notate, right?
9:25
Speaker 1: This is a law firm that deals with very secretive clients.
9:29
Speaker 1: And if those clients heard that there was a leak
9:32
Speaker 1: or something like that, obviously they'd all be running for
9:34
Speaker 1: the doors. But this was part of the Paradise Papers
9:39
Speaker 1: and the release of that information via a hack. Still,
9:45
Speaker 1: within these documents, there isn't much information and there's no
9:48
Speaker 1: discernible reason why the documents single out Epstein's bank statements
9:52
Speaker 1: during the 2006 and 2007 time frame. Another client sheet,
9:58
Speaker 1: Epstein is listed at his St. Thomas address. He also
10:02
Speaker 1: listed at 457 Madison Avenue in New York, which is
10:06
Speaker 1: the location of a historic home, the Villard Houses. The
10:10
Speaker 1: home is currently owned by the Sultan of Brunei. Huh, interesting. Again,
10:15
Speaker 1: Epstein had connections to all of these high-profile people. And
10:19
Speaker 1: when you're running around with guys like Khashoggi, well, you're
10:22
Speaker 1: going to have access to a whole different Rolodex of,
10:26
Speaker 1: you know, world jet setters, if you will. These arms traffickers,
10:31
Speaker 1: these people that are moving black market art, these people
10:34
Speaker 1: are really connected in the world that Epstein was moving
10:37
Speaker 1: around in. Correspondence with that address is directed to Harry Beller,
10:43
Speaker 1: who at the time worked for New York Strategy Group,
10:46
Speaker 1: a financial advisory group firm for the uber rich. According
10:50
Speaker 1: to the Miami Herald, someone at Beller's current employer, Louis J.
10:54
Speaker 1: Septimus and Company, said that Beller worked as one of
10:57
Speaker 1: Epstein's accountants. So another name to look at, right? Harry
11:01
Speaker 1: Beller working as one of Epstein's accountants. And if these
11:05
Speaker 1: journalists can put all of this together, you mean to
11:07
Speaker 1: tell me there's not a forensic investigation done at the
11:11
Speaker 1: federal level that can connect all of these dots here?
11:18
Speaker 1: While the intention behind ordering the release of these documents
11:21
Speaker 1: was to get a clearer picture of Epstein's finances, they
11:24
Speaker 1: seem to obfuscate the picture further. And that's not incorrect either.
11:29
Speaker 1: The more we found out about Epstein's finances throughout this
11:32
Speaker 1: whole thing, the more confusing it all seemed. And when
11:35
Speaker 1: you go through it all and you look at what's
11:37
Speaker 1: going on as far as the money and as far
11:39
Speaker 1: as who he's connected to, it seemed like a home
11:42
Speaker 1: run and a slam dunk for the federal government to
11:45
Speaker 1: pursue this avenue. But as far as we know, they
11:48
Speaker 1: never really went down this road the way they should have.
11:52
Speaker 1: Oh sure, they've talked about Epstein's finances a little bit.
11:55
Speaker 1: You know, froze his money, put it in the compensation fund,
11:58
Speaker 1: took their $ 200 million in taxes. But what about the
12:01
Speaker 1: rest of the money? What about all of the people
12:03
Speaker 1: that were connected to him and funneling him money? Still,
12:07
Speaker 1: no answers there. So we'll continue to dig and we'll
12:11
Speaker 1: continue to talk about the topic until we get some clarity.
12:15
Speaker 1: All right, folks, it's going to do it for this one.
12:17
Speaker 1: If you'd like to contact me, you can do that
12:20
Speaker 1: at BobbyCapucci at ProtonMail.com. That's B-O-B-B-Y-C-A-P-U-C-C-I at ProtonMail.com. You can
12:29
Speaker 1: also find me on Twitter at B-O-B-B-Y underscore C-A-P-U-C-C-I. The
12:36
Speaker 1: link that I discussed can be found in the description box.
12:40
Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome back to the program. Recently,
12:45
Speaker 1: we've been talking a whole lot about the IRS and
12:49
Speaker 1: the fact that they're looking to beef up the agency
12:52
Speaker 1: with over 87,000 new agents. I said when that news
12:58
Speaker 1: came across that that seems a bit much to me,
13:01
Speaker 1: and it still does. Do we really need 87,000 new
13:06
Speaker 1: IRS agents to make sure that the rich pay their
13:09
Speaker 1: fair share? I don't think we do. Here's an idea
13:12
Speaker 1: for all of the people who are so gung-ho about 87,000
13:16
Speaker 1: new IRS agents. How about we start out like this?
13:20
Speaker 1: Every single elected official, state and federally, gets their own
13:26
Speaker 1: private IRS agent to keep a look at their books.
13:30
Speaker 1: That's right. Your books are going to be looked at consistently.
13:34
Speaker 1: You're audited every year from here on out. Since all
13:38
Speaker 1: of these politicians think it's such a good idea that
13:41
Speaker 1: you have all these extra eyes on your financials. And
13:47
Speaker 1: all of these people who think, well, if you're not
13:49
Speaker 1: cheating on your taxes, it's no big deal. Not taking
13:52
Speaker 1: into account even just getting audited for most people is
13:57
Speaker 1: a real pain. It costs money when you get audited.
14:01
Speaker 1: Breaking news. And, you know, money is kind of in
14:03
Speaker 1: short supply right now. So what do you think is
14:06
Speaker 1: going to happen when there's 87,000 new IRS agents? You
14:10
Speaker 1: think they're going to be twiddling their thumbs? Or do
14:13
Speaker 1: you think they're going to be going after the middle class?
14:17
Speaker 1: We've already talked about the numbers, how people who are
14:21
Speaker 1: making the least amount of money are audited the most
14:23
Speaker 1: as it is already. So what do you think is
14:25
Speaker 1: going to happen when they have 87,000 new IRS agents? So,
14:31
Speaker 1: I say if they want 87,000 new IRS agents to
14:35
Speaker 1: dig through our financials all the time, then fine. If
14:39
Speaker 1: that's the way it's going to be, then every single congressman,
14:43
Speaker 1: every single congresswoman, senators, state congress, state senators, and the
14:48
Speaker 1: rest of them, well, out of those 87,000 new IRS agents,
14:54
Speaker 1: I think we can find one case agent that works
14:57
Speaker 1: on their books year-round. And every year they get audited.
15:02
Speaker 1: You think that they'd be receptive to that? How do
15:04
Speaker 1: you think Congress and the Senate would feel about all
15:07
Speaker 1: of that, folks? I highly doubt they would be jumping
15:11
Speaker 1: for joy over that, considering they're some of the most devious,
15:17
Speaker 1: scummy stashers of money in the whole entire world. Just
15:23
Speaker 1: take a look at what these Congress people are worth
15:26
Speaker 1: when they go into office and then look at what
15:28
Speaker 1: they're worth when they leave. And you tell me how
15:31
Speaker 1: they've done that. on the salary of a public servant.
15:38
Speaker 1: It is impossible. The math doesn't add up. So before
15:41
Speaker 1: all of these people get out here with their hoorahs
15:44
Speaker 1: about how great it is that the IRS is going
15:46
Speaker 1: to be expanded, how about they get their own houses
15:49
Speaker 1: in order? How about they have their own personal IRS
15:53
Speaker 1: agent looking at their bullshit? And furthermore, we could avoid
15:58
Speaker 1: all of the nonsense if these very same politicians who
16:01
Speaker 1: are up there telling you that, you know, beefing up
16:04
Speaker 1: the IRS is such a good idea, if these same
16:07
Speaker 1: politicians just wrote laws without all of these loopholes in them.
16:13
Speaker 1: But they can't do that, right? Because their bag men
16:16
Speaker 1: are all of the very same people who they're writing
16:18
Speaker 1: these loopholes for. The circle always continues, doesn't it? It
16:24
Speaker 1: goes round and round and round and round, and you
16:27
Speaker 1: get screwed every single time it makes a revolution. But
16:33
Speaker 1: don't worry, the IRS isn't coming after you. They're only
16:36
Speaker 1: going after billionaires, considering there's like 750 billionaires. So out
16:41
Speaker 1: of those 87,000, even if you had one IRS agent
16:44
Speaker 1: dedicated to every public official and one dedicated to every billionaire,
16:50
Speaker 1: you'd still have about, oh, I don't know, 80,000 left
16:53
Speaker 1: over or so to go after everybody else. But they'll
16:57
Speaker 1: never do that, right? It's because they never want to
16:59
Speaker 1: clean up their own mess. They can steal. They can
17:03
Speaker 1: hide money. They cannot report their money. They can stash
17:06
Speaker 1: it overseas. Not you. Remember, if you and your neighbor
17:10
Speaker 1: want to trade something, you know, you have a chicken,
17:13
Speaker 1: your neighbor has a cow. Well, your neighbor wants a
17:15
Speaker 1: wing of that chicken and you want a leg of
17:17
Speaker 1: that cow. The government has to get their piece. Remember,
17:20
Speaker 1: they always have to have their piece. Meanwhile, they're getting
17:24
Speaker 1: fat at the trough, stealing with both hands. That's why
17:29
Speaker 1: this is so absurd, okay? All the division politics and
17:33
Speaker 1: all the other garbage. You can take that shit and
17:35
Speaker 1: stuff it. This shit's going to have real effects on
17:39
Speaker 1: real people. And on the very people that all these
17:42
Speaker 1: folks say they care about. The working class. Seems to me,
17:46
Speaker 1: nobody cares about the working class. Today's article is from
17:52
Speaker 1: CBS News. The author is Irina Ivanova. Tax loopholes let
18:00
Speaker 1: the rich-eyed billions offshore report fines. And in other news,
18:04
Speaker 1: water is wet and the sky is blue. We've been
18:07
Speaker 1: talking about this on this podcast now for three years.
18:10
Speaker 1: The financials here, they're all entangled. And all of these
18:13
Speaker 1: rich bastards are stashing shit offshore. They're all engaging in
18:19
Speaker 1: all kinds of financial malfeasance on a day-to-day basis. But yeah,
18:24
Speaker 1: let's have the IRS beefed up so they can come
18:27
Speaker 1: and look at my books. A gaping hole in U.S.
18:32
Speaker 1: tax laws allowing the rich to stash billions offshore in
18:35
Speaker 1: foreign bank accounts, according to lawmakers. The hypocrisy here is
18:39
Speaker 1: just too much for me. The same lawmakers who wrote
18:41
Speaker 1: the laws? Those same lawmakers? Bunch of boobs. While the
18:47
Speaker 1: law requires Americans to report any foreign bank accounts and
18:50
Speaker 1: pay taxes on all income earned, not all of them do.
18:53
Speaker 1: And a 12-year-old law designed to crack down on offshore
18:57
Speaker 1: tax evasion is easy to circumvent, members of the Senate
19:00
Speaker 1: Finance Committee said in a report on Wednesday. You know,
19:04
Speaker 1: I think they're putting this out there to try and
19:06
Speaker 1: bolster their case, but they're not doing that. Anyone who
19:10
Speaker 1: knows the situation, anyone who's paying attention here, and anyone
19:13
Speaker 1: who's not playing divisive-ass stupid tribal politics knows what's going
19:18
Speaker 1: on here. This is a cash grab, plain and simple.
19:22
Speaker 1: And if you have a small business or you got
19:24
Speaker 1: a little side hustle, Etsy, something like that, they're coming, folks.
19:28
Speaker 1: You better make sure your books are in order and
19:30
Speaker 1: don't make a mistake. My suggestion is pay the extra
19:34
Speaker 1: few bucks and get an accountant. I know this year
19:38
Speaker 1: I have to have an accountant, and I know next
19:40
Speaker 1: year I'm definitely going to need an accountant. And you
19:42
Speaker 1: better believe, by the way, I'm going to utilize every
19:46
Speaker 1: loophole that they have on the books. That's right. If
19:49
Speaker 1: they are... I am. Well, you don't think I'm going
19:52
Speaker 1: to do the same thing they are? I'm going to
19:54
Speaker 1: use every single loophole that I can possibly find. Every write-off,
19:58
Speaker 1: every single thing that these people would do, I'm going
20:01
Speaker 1: to do. I'm going to go find a fantastic tax attorney,
20:06
Speaker 1: fantastic accountant, and let them do their work. Because I'm
20:11
Speaker 1: tired of the way that these people sit up on
20:15
Speaker 1: their pedestal, sit up on their ivory tower, looking down
20:19
Speaker 1: at the rest of us and laughing as we all
20:21
Speaker 1: try and stay afloat. Meanwhile, all of these idiots are
20:25
Speaker 1: still on the yacht. As a result, wealthy taxpayers continue
20:30
Speaker 1: to use schemes involving offshore entities and secret bank accounts
20:34
Speaker 1: to successfully hide billions in income from the IRS, the
20:38
Speaker 1: report said. So, 87,000 agents are needed for that, huh?
20:42
Speaker 1: Here's an idea, once again, just to slam it home
20:46
Speaker 1: one more time. Fix the laws. Get rid of the loopholes.
20:51
Speaker 1: Fix the tax code. Make a flat tax rate of
20:53
Speaker 1: 15% that everybody has to pay and be done with it.
20:57
Speaker 1: Quit playing games. Quit stealing from the American people. The
21:02
Speaker 1: case of Robert Brockman, a billionaire charged in the largest
21:05
Speaker 1: tax evasion case in history, highlights how loopholes in the
21:08
Speaker 1: nation's tax code may be used to dodge taxes. In 2020,
21:12
Speaker 1: the Department of Justice charged Brockman with hiding more than
21:15
Speaker 1: $ 2 billion in income from the IRS in a complex,
21:19
Speaker 1: decades-long scheme involving offshore accounts, foreign trusts, and multiple shell companies.
21:26
Speaker 1: This is just part and parcel for all of these people.
21:30
Speaker 1: This is what Epstein's been doing for years. And we
21:33
Speaker 1: still don't have the full scope of what this dude
21:35
Speaker 1: had stashed offshore. Brockman died earlier this month while preparing
21:42
Speaker 1: to stand trial. His case was the impetus for the
21:45
Speaker 1: Senate finance investigation. A civil case against his estate is ongoing.
21:51
Speaker 1: Brockman's attorneys who didn't immediately reply to a request for
21:54
Speaker 1: comment from CBS News had argued he was too ill
21:58
Speaker 1: to stand trial oh they love that one right oh
22:01
Speaker 1: I'm too sick I can't stand trial well you shouldn't
22:04
Speaker 1: have committed the crimes then I don't want to hear
22:06
Speaker 1: this shit oh too old to go to jail or
22:08
Speaker 1: what does that even mean bro my grandpa wasn't too
22:11
Speaker 1: old to go to jail when they went and dragged
22:13
Speaker 1: him out of his house over illegal gambling so get
22:16
Speaker 1: the fuck out of here with these billionaires who are
22:19
Speaker 1: really screwing us all over Upon his death, Kathy Keenely
22:27
Speaker 1: of Jones Day told Bloomberg the government wasted time and
22:30
Speaker 1: resources indicting a man who had progressive dementia and was
22:34
Speaker 1: terminally ill. Again, that doesn't make you get off the hook, right?
22:40
Speaker 1: If you're terminally ill, you have dementia. Sorry, bro. You
22:42
Speaker 1: shouldn't have stole all this money. You shouldn't have hid
22:45
Speaker 1: all this money. Well, I'm paying my taxes, writing fat
22:48
Speaker 1: ass checks to the government every year. You're stashing your
22:51
Speaker 1: money offshore. And you're allowed to do so by your
22:55
Speaker 1: scumbag friends in politics? Yeah, you know, the ones who
22:58
Speaker 1: wrote these laws? It's such a joke. The very same
23:02
Speaker 1: people who write these laws then get up and they
23:05
Speaker 1: trash them and talk shit about them. Well, the only
23:08
Speaker 1: people who really can change it are these very same people.
23:11
Speaker 1: The congressmen, the senators, they can make new laws. They
23:15
Speaker 1: choose not to. Shockingly easy. One way Brockman was allegedly
23:22
Speaker 1: able to hide income is by dressing up his shell
23:24
Speaker 1: companies as financial institutions, according to the report, which cites
23:28
Speaker 1: documents from the court case. Under the 2010 Foreign Account
23:33
Speaker 1: Tax Compliance Act, or FATCA, foreign financial institutions are required
23:38
Speaker 1: to determine if certain accounts are held by U.S. citizens.
23:41
Speaker 1: But banks are free of that legal responsibility if the
23:45
Speaker 1: accounts are held by entities that are themselves financial institutions.
23:50
Speaker 1: So what they're saying here is all you have to
23:51
Speaker 1: do is if you're rich, turn yourself into a financial institution.
23:55
Speaker 1: We know it's not difficult. We watched Epstein do it.
23:58
Speaker 1: If you have enough money, people are going to dance
24:00
Speaker 1: to your tune. Believe it. Brockman allegedly took advantage of
24:06
Speaker 1: this loophole according to the lawmakers. Oh, the lawmakers who
24:10
Speaker 1: wrote the law. It's so ridiculous. They would have you
24:13
Speaker 1: believe that they're handcuffed here, that they can't do anything
24:16
Speaker 1: about it. Yes, they can. Change the law. Pretty simple.
24:22
Speaker 1: Companies that he controlled and that were registered under other
24:25
Speaker 1: people's names... were also registered with the IRS and received
24:30
Speaker 1: Global Intermediary Identification Numbers, GIIN numbers, allowing them to present
24:37
Speaker 1: themselves as foreign financial institutions. That means when money funneled
24:42
Speaker 1: through these companies was deposited into Swiss bank accounts, The
24:46
Speaker 1: Swiss bank accounts did not need to investigate whether a U.S.
24:50
Speaker 1: citizen held the account, as they normally would have. It's
24:54
Speaker 1: all about structuring this money so that it doesn't get
24:57
Speaker 1: traced back to you, right? You have nine or ten
25:00
Speaker 1: different entities. You have LLCs. You have financial corporations. All
25:04
Speaker 1: of it. And that's what they do. But we need 87,000
25:08
Speaker 1: IRS agents to take a look at your financials. What's more,
25:16
Speaker 1: getting a GIIN number from the IRS is shockingly easy,
25:20
Speaker 1: the report found. After a person registers online or via
25:24
Speaker 1: a paper form, applications are almost always approved without meaningful
25:29
Speaker 1: investigation or due diligence from IRS personnel, the Senate panel found. Essentially,
25:35
Speaker 1: Brockman was allowed to give himself a free pass and
25:38
Speaker 1: self-certify that his accounts were legal, and neither the IRS
25:42
Speaker 1: nor the Swiss banks investigated further, the report alleges, revealing
25:46
Speaker 1: a deeply troubling loophole in the U.S. financial reporting regime.
25:52
Speaker 1: So it's not about a lack of agents. It's about
25:54
Speaker 1: these loopholes. And just like everything else, there's so much
25:59
Speaker 1: more below the surface, right? People just want to scratch
26:02
Speaker 1: the surface and give you enough to fight over. But
26:05
Speaker 1: the reality is, most of these situations are so much
26:07
Speaker 1: more nuanced than that, that they couldn't even explain it
26:11
Speaker 1: if they wanted to, these morons in these news stations.
26:15
Speaker 1: All of these idiotic blue check marks who grab onto
26:19
Speaker 1: the same story and then ride the coattails. Banks with
26:26
Speaker 1: no scrutiny. Brockman's alleged tax evasion is likely just the
26:29
Speaker 1: tip of the iceberg, the committee found. The Cayman Islands
26:33
Speaker 1: alone have 84,000 entities with GIIN numbers, meaning they're identified
26:39
Speaker 1: as foreign financial institutions. Boy, I wonder how many of
26:43
Speaker 1: your favorite politicians that are calling for 87,000 new IRS
26:48
Speaker 1: agents have a GIIN number. My guess is more than
26:52
Speaker 1: a handful. There are hundreds of thousands of shell companies
26:56
Speaker 1: and offshore tax havens that have been turned into IRS-approved
26:59
Speaker 1: banks with virtually no scrutiny by the IRS. It doesn't
27:04
Speaker 1: take a rocket scientist to see how this loophole leads
27:07
Speaker 1: to billions in tax evasion. Senator Ron Wyden, chairman of
27:10
Speaker 1: the Senate Finance Committee, said in a statement, Here's an idea,
27:13
Speaker 1: Ron Wyden. Why don't you fix it? Fix the loopholes.
27:17
Speaker 1: You're the big boss man, right? I mean, you guys
27:20
Speaker 1: have control of both the Senate and the Congress and
27:24
Speaker 1: the presidency. So what's the holdup? Are you going to
27:28
Speaker 1: fix these loopholes or no? Instead of fixing these loopholes, remember,
27:32
Speaker 1: they worked on getting 87,000 more IRS agents to give
27:36
Speaker 1: you a colonoscopy. Makes a lot of sense to me
27:39
Speaker 1: when you read all this other stuff, right? Look, if
27:41
Speaker 1: we had everything in order and the real problem was
27:45
Speaker 1: the middle class or a mom and pop shop who
27:47
Speaker 1: has an Etsy store or sells baseball cards not paying
27:51
Speaker 1: their taxes, then I'd be all for it. But that's
27:53
Speaker 1: not the real issue here. The real issue here are
27:56
Speaker 1: scumbags like this who are able to utilize all of
27:59
Speaker 1: these legal loopholes and defer millions and millions and billions
28:03
Speaker 1: of dollars that should be being taxed. Budget cuts at
28:12
Speaker 1: the IRS have made it harder for the agency to
28:14
Speaker 1: crack down on wealthy tax cheats. That's a straight up lie. Again,
28:19
Speaker 1: if you fix the loophole, you wouldn't need all the
28:21
Speaker 1: IRS agents. It's just like with the student loans. Sure,
28:25
Speaker 1: all right, get rid of 10 grand for people, but
28:27
Speaker 1: what about the kids coming next who are getting the
28:29
Speaker 1: student loans? Instead of fixing the actual problem, the predatory
28:33
Speaker 1: style of these student loans, they'll just throw a Band-Aid
28:36
Speaker 1: on the issue and hope to stop some of the bleeding.
28:39
Speaker 1: Same shit here, right? Oh, let's have more regulations as
28:42
Speaker 1: far as agents on the ground, but forget all of
28:45
Speaker 1: these super rich people. Go after these people first, and
28:50
Speaker 1: then we can discuss expanding the IRS to the parameters
28:55
Speaker 1: that you're talking about. Since 2010, the number of enforcement
29:02
Speaker 1: staffers at the agency has fallen by nearly a third.
29:06
Speaker 1: That means less revenue for everything from military spending to
29:10
Speaker 1: social programs, with an estimated $ 600 billion in owed taxes
29:14
Speaker 1: going uncollected each year, according to the Treasury Department. Oh
29:18
Speaker 1: my lord, they're really putting it on hard here, huh?
29:22
Speaker 1: The gaslighting is amazing. No, don't worry. It's all about enforcement.
29:26
Speaker 1: We need more agents in the office so they can
29:29
Speaker 1: go after stuff like this. Stop it. The only people
29:33
Speaker 1: believing that are the people who are chasing their confirmation
29:36
Speaker 1: bias and hanging out in the bunker with the rest
29:38
Speaker 1: of the people. in their echo chamber. The rest of
29:41
Speaker 1: the world is looking at this like, okay, hold on
29:43
Speaker 1: a minute. You guys can't even stop a basic loophole here,
29:47
Speaker 1: but now you're going to employ 87,000 more agents? And
29:50
Speaker 1: for what? There's no accountability ever. Has there ever been
29:54
Speaker 1: any accountability for the IRS, the FBI, the CIA? No accountability.
30:00
Speaker 1: Is there even any civilian oversight? It's supposed to be Congress.
30:03
Speaker 1: It's supposed to be the Senate, but they're all part
30:05
Speaker 1: of the gang, right? It's all one big club, folks. Remember,
30:09
Speaker 1: and you're not invited. The IRS is completely outgunned when
30:15
Speaker 1: it comes to these offshore shell banks. Ashley Chapatiel, a
30:18
Speaker 1: spokesperson for Wyden, said on Twitter, cool, so hire IRS
30:22
Speaker 1: agents to go after that. Start there. An $ 80 billion
30:26
Speaker 1: boost for the agency in the recently passed Inflation Reduction
30:29
Speaker 1: Act should make up some of this gap, Wyden said.
30:32
Speaker 1: The senator is also pushing a law targeting the foreign
30:37
Speaker 1: reporting loophole, he said. Oh, well, it's about time, Mr.
30:40
Speaker 1: Wyden said. Give me a break with these people. They've
30:44
Speaker 1: been in Senate and Congress longer than I've been alive,
30:47
Speaker 1: some of these people. And they've changed nothing. In fact,
30:50
Speaker 1: they've continued on with the loopholes. They've continued on with
30:52
Speaker 1: the nonsense. And then they want to point the finger
30:55
Speaker 1: at the middle class, at the working class. Oh, you're
30:57
Speaker 1: not paying your fair share. Oh, we got to have
30:59
Speaker 1: more agents. I say, va fangul to all of it.
31:05
Speaker 1: It's an absolute waste of money, an absolute waste of resources,
31:10
Speaker 1: and an absolute joke. Until you fix the loopholes, and
31:13
Speaker 1: until you start enforcing the tax laws on these kind
31:17
Speaker 1: of people, these billionaires that are evading taxes, I don't
31:21
Speaker 1: want to hear anything about the middle class getting a
31:24
Speaker 1: colonoscopy by the IRS. If you'd like to contact me,
31:29
Speaker 1: you can do that at BobbyCapucci at ProtonMail.com. That's B-O-B-B-Y-C-A-P-U-C-C-I
31:36
Speaker 1: at ProtonMail.com. You can also find me on Twitter at
31:40
Speaker 1: B-O-B-B-Y underscore C-A-P-U-C-C-I. The link that I discussed can be
31:46
Speaker 1: found in the description box. What's up, everyone, and welcome
31:51
Speaker 1: back to the program. Today, we're going to read an
31:55
Speaker 1: article from The Guardian... And the author of that article
31:58
Speaker 1: is Robert Saviano. Now, Robert Saviano is the author of
32:04
Speaker 1: one of my favorite books, Zero Zero Zero. And this
32:09
Speaker 1: is a book that really delves deep into the cocaine
32:12
Speaker 1: trade between... the Sicilian families and the Italian families, the
32:17
Speaker 1: Andrata and the Camorra, and the Mexican cartels. It is
32:22
Speaker 1: a fantastic book. If you have not read it, I
32:25
Speaker 1: suggest you do. And there is also a companion series
32:28
Speaker 1: that goes along with it on Amazon Prime, and it
32:33
Speaker 1: goes by the same name, Zero Zero Zero. And it
32:36
Speaker 1: gives you an inside look at Basically, how the Zetas
32:41
Speaker 1: came into effect and how brutal and violent they were.
32:46
Speaker 1: So if you haven't read that book or watched the series,
32:49
Speaker 1: I think it's eight parts. You definitely should check that
32:52
Speaker 1: out if you're interested in this topic. Now, today, Mr.
32:56
Speaker 1: Saviano is talking about how drug traffickers, well, how they
33:01
Speaker 1: taught the super rich how to hide their money in
33:05
Speaker 1: tax havens. So let's jump right into this article and
33:09
Speaker 1: let's see what Mr. Roberto Saviano has for us. Headline,
33:14
Speaker 1: drug traffickers taught the rich how to hide their money
33:18
Speaker 1: in tax havens. And this is two of the topics
33:22
Speaker 1: we always talk about colliding here, right folks? The tax
33:25
Speaker 1: havens and the drug trade. You know, when we're dealing
33:31
Speaker 1: with people who have this kind of money, it is
33:35
Speaker 1: inevitable that that they're going to be looking to stash it. Now,
33:40
Speaker 1: this article came out roughly four years ago, November of 2017.
33:49
Speaker 1: It was only 19 months ago that the Panama Papers
33:52
Speaker 1: were released. Now, it's the Paradise Papers that are filling
33:56
Speaker 1: the front pages of English and European newspapers. Back when
34:00
Speaker 1: the Panama Papers were released, I wrote that if David
34:03
Speaker 1: Cameron's name hadn't been in those documents, the news probably
34:07
Speaker 1: wouldn't have had the same impact. Today, I think that
34:11
Speaker 1: if Queen Elizabeth's name hadn't come up, we likely wouldn't
34:14
Speaker 1: be discussing it either. So let's remember, Queen Elizabeth's name
34:18
Speaker 1: certainly came up in the Paradise Papers. And again, she
34:24
Speaker 1: is another person who will stash that money, another person
34:28
Speaker 1: that uses offshore tax havens. And it's just the standard
34:34
Speaker 1: operating procedure for the so-called elite. And it's funny because
34:39
Speaker 1: they say, oh, well, this is legal and we're not
34:41
Speaker 1: doing anything wrong. Meanwhile, the rest of us are lucky
34:45
Speaker 1: we can use our neighborhood bank, right? Never mind stashing
34:48
Speaker 1: money offshore. The mechanisms are the same. Only the consulting
34:54
Speaker 1: firms involved and the islands where the news originated have changed.
34:59
Speaker 1: In the Paradise Papers, there's a bit of everything. From
35:03
Speaker 1: the legitimate, though ethically questionable, creation of offshore companies, to
35:08
Speaker 1: lower tax liabilities to shell companies that hide assets of
35:12
Speaker 1: a criminal origin. And that's mainly what we discuss here.
35:16
Speaker 1: Because that's what Epstein was up to, we all know
35:18
Speaker 1: he was up to that. Anyone saying any different is
35:21
Speaker 1: not paying attention to the script. Epstein was a money
35:26
Speaker 1: mover at heart, somebody who bundled it, and somebody who
35:30
Speaker 1: knew how to hide it. He had all of the
35:35
Speaker 1: parameters checked off, right? Had his own banks, had his
35:39
Speaker 1: own charities, had people in his pocket in the Virgin Islands.
35:42
Speaker 1: Things rolled along nice and smooth for him. Tax havens
35:47
Speaker 1: are where criminal capitalism and legal capitalism meet and merge.
35:55
Speaker 1: I've said this before, but it bears repeating. So is
35:59
Speaker 1: the fact that mafia organizations were the first to create
36:03
Speaker 1: and facilitate money laundering mechanisms through tax havens. Of course
36:07
Speaker 1: they were. Look, it has always been the issue for
36:11
Speaker 1: the mafia or the cartels on how to deal with
36:13
Speaker 1: the money once it's made. getting product to the market
36:17
Speaker 1: is the easy part. Washing that money up, bundling it,
36:20
Speaker 1: tying it, and coloring it is the hard part. In
36:26
Speaker 1: the 1980s, Gilberto Rodriguez, the leader of the Colombian Cali cartel,
36:33
Speaker 1: became the largest shareholder of the first Inter-America's Bank of Panama.
36:38
Speaker 1: The cartel did this in order to facilitate the laundering
36:42
Speaker 1: of drug money and its reinsertion It's reinsertion of it
36:46
Speaker 1: into the population. And that's what they have to do.
36:49
Speaker 1: They have to wash it so it looks like it's
36:51
Speaker 1: legitimate money. And then they put it right back into
36:55
Speaker 1: real estate deals or paintings or whatever it is that
37:00
Speaker 1: they're investing in. And last year it was discovered that
37:06
Speaker 1: the mansion of a top Mexican narcotics kingpin, Rafael Caro Quintero,
37:12
Speaker 1: belonged to an offshore company based in Panama called right
37:15
Speaker 1: next to the assets of major European businessmen and politicians. Well,
37:20
Speaker 1: that's nice. Rafael Caro Quintero was the man, if you remember,
37:25
Speaker 1: who was accused of the death of Kiki Camarena, Agent
37:30
Speaker 1: Kiki Camarena for the DEA, who was kidnapped by the
37:33
Speaker 1: cartels and killed. So this guy has his assets parked
37:37
Speaker 1: right along with these politicians and businessmen. It's the right place.
37:41
Speaker 1: They all smell like criminals to me. These assets all
37:48
Speaker 1: have diverse origins, some legal, some illegal, but they all
37:52
Speaker 1: seek the same services and enjoy the same benefits. That's right,
37:56
Speaker 1: wash that money up. Make sure nobody knows how I
37:59
Speaker 1: made this money. If you're a drug dealer or a businessman,
38:02
Speaker 1: it's all the same. Panama, Bermuda, Singapore, Cyprus, Malta, along
38:10
Speaker 1: with London, at the center of this network, are all
38:14
Speaker 1: territories where you can hide money. This isn't always illegal.
38:18
Speaker 1: In fact, when documents like the ones we saw in
38:20
Speaker 1: the Paradise Papers are leaked, the result is mostly a
38:24
Speaker 1: damage to one's image rather than jail time. That is
38:28
Speaker 1: a fact as well. It's your image that gets bupped here, right?
38:31
Speaker 1: You're not going to prison over this. But the fact remains,
38:35
Speaker 1: the cartels, the mafioso, they're the ones who put all
38:39
Speaker 1: of this into motion. And, like typical crime, Followers and
38:45
Speaker 1: typical criminal elements. Our politicians, our business magnates and the
38:51
Speaker 1: rest followed suit. However, reputational damage becomes less of a threat.
39:00
Speaker 1: when large multinational corporations, who are household names, get away
39:04
Speaker 1: with having offshore assets. And we see this with everybody.
39:09
Speaker 1: Every single one of these super rich people, these gigantic corporations,
39:13
Speaker 1: they all exploit these loopholes. They all exploit these technicalities.
39:18
Speaker 1: And that's why I say our politicians are really the
39:20
Speaker 1: ones to blame. They're the ones who put these laws
39:23
Speaker 1: on the books. They're the ones who leave these loopholes
39:26
Speaker 1: and technicalities in these laws. Why? Well, so they can
39:29
Speaker 1: exploit them as well. What, you don't think the politicians
39:32
Speaker 1: are burying their money offshore? They don't have their money
39:35
Speaker 1: protected in LLCs and elsewhere? Meanwhile, you're completely exposed, and
39:43
Speaker 1: when the next economic crisis comes rolling down the pipe,
39:46
Speaker 1: you'll definitely get hit by it, but these people, they'll
39:49
Speaker 1: all be insulated. They got money parked all over the place.
39:55
Speaker 1: When we learn that companies like Microsoft, Google, or Apple
39:59
Speaker 1: have offshore accounts, and yet neither their image nor stock
40:03
Speaker 1: prices are affected, it leads to the legitimization of the
40:06
Speaker 1: financial practice. Like a protective bubble wrap, they shield everyone
40:10
Speaker 1: else who is in on this game. Thanks to them,
40:13
Speaker 1: paying taxes is seen as only for being for those
40:18
Speaker 1: who can't afford not to pay them. And that is
40:20
Speaker 1: you and I, folks. Every single one of us is
40:23
Speaker 1: expected to do our duty, pay our taxes, and pay
40:26
Speaker 1: our fair share. But these rich multinational corporations, these bigwigs,
40:31
Speaker 1: these big shots, they don't have to do anything like that.
40:35
Speaker 1: They'll park their money offshore. They'll find loopholes. They'll find
40:39
Speaker 1: all kinds of ways to make sure that they're hooked up. Meanwhile,
40:42
Speaker 1: you and I? Get in line. Pay your taxes. Tax
40:45
Speaker 1: day is approaching. A study by the Institute... on Taxation
40:52
Speaker 1: and Economic Policy published this year shows that the 366
40:56
Speaker 1: of the 500 American companies in the highest revenue, those
41:00
Speaker 1: that are part of the Fortune 500, use subsidiaries located
41:04
Speaker 1: in tax havens to reduce their income taxes. Among these
41:08
Speaker 1: are important banks, financial institutes, pharmaceutical corporations, and multinational communication
41:15
Speaker 1: clothing and food companies. So... With them doing this, right,
41:20
Speaker 1: it legitimizes it for all of the other crooks to
41:23
Speaker 1: do it as well. And why are they doing this?
41:25
Speaker 1: Out of greed, folks. That's what it comes down to, greed.
41:28
Speaker 1: And I know there's a segment of you out there
41:30
Speaker 1: that will say, well, there's no law against this. Well,
41:34
Speaker 1: I'll counter that by saying once again, there should be.
41:38
Speaker 1: The result is that the electrician on the outskirts of
41:42
Speaker 1: Rome or a small business in Liverpool will have infinitely
41:46
Speaker 1: more fiscal pressure than those colossal companies earning way more money.
41:51
Speaker 1: And it's a fact. Those companies have nowhere near the
41:54
Speaker 1: tax liability that the mom and pop shop does or
41:57
Speaker 1: the local shop down the block. Because these are the
42:00
Speaker 1: guys that are putting the money in the pockets of
42:02
Speaker 1: the politicians. You know, everybody says, follow the money, follow
42:06
Speaker 1: the money. But when it comes down to it, nobody
42:09
Speaker 1: wants to do that because it'll inevitably lead to your
42:12
Speaker 1: favorite politician. In fact, it's not a coincidence that despite
42:18
Speaker 1: the Panama and Paradise Papers scandals and numerous governmental declarations,
42:24
Speaker 1: including by states historically considered tax havens like Switzerland and
42:28
Speaker 1: Austria to fight tax evasion and money laundering, the quantity
42:33
Speaker 1: of wealth held offshore has grown continuously over the last
42:37
Speaker 1: few years. And it has continued to do that. Remember,
42:40
Speaker 1: this is from 2017. We're talking about five years ago.
42:44
Speaker 1: It has grown astronomically since then. According to a recent
42:50
Speaker 1: study by the National Bureau of Economic Research, that wealth
42:54
Speaker 1: is now equal to 10% of the global GDP. But
42:58
Speaker 1: that's only an estimate because the very nature of tax
43:01
Speaker 1: havens prevents the uncovering of precise figures. And that's why
43:05
Speaker 1: they use this sort of service. They do not want
43:09
Speaker 1: to pony up that extra dough. God forbid. I mean...
43:13
Speaker 1: They can't go about losing a few extra million. I mean,
43:17
Speaker 1: how will that look on the bottom line, right, when
43:20
Speaker 1: they don't have their $ 465 trillion billion? What's more, once
43:27
Speaker 1: certain jurisdictions are rebuked, either through political decisions or because
43:31
Speaker 1: they're at the center of media storms, the assets they
43:34
Speaker 1: hosted are often merely transferred to new, more reputable and
43:39
Speaker 1: convenient havens. And look, the whole system's rigged, folks, all right?
43:43
Speaker 1: The system is rigged for the men of always and us,
43:48
Speaker 1: the children of never. Well, we're just pieces on the board, right?
43:51
Speaker 1: To be moved around and abused and sent to war
43:55
Speaker 1: and the rest of it. I am convinced that the
43:59
Speaker 1: Panama and Paradise Papers represent only the tip of the iceberg,
44:05
Speaker 1: and that we have no idea of the true shape
44:08
Speaker 1: or size of this problem. What has come to light
44:11
Speaker 1: in both the Panama and Paradise Papers proves that in
44:15
Speaker 1: tax havens, cocaine money, money from tax evasion, and legal
44:19
Speaker 1: money all live together, legitimizing one another. Legal capitalism has
44:25
Speaker 1: learned from criminal capitalism That in the world of money,
44:29
Speaker 1: one rule, breakers survive. Excuse me. Legal capitalism has learned
44:33
Speaker 1: from criminal capitalism that in the world of money, only
44:37
Speaker 1: rule breakers survive. And that's true too, right? Look, if
44:40
Speaker 1: you play the game fair and you play it square,
44:43
Speaker 1: you're not going to get ahead the way some of
44:44
Speaker 1: these other people do. And that's just the fact of it.
44:50
Speaker 1: Drug traffickers were the pioneers of a free market model
44:53
Speaker 1: that has been slowly adopted by the legal economy. Cocaine
44:57
Speaker 1: combined all of the pillars of contemporary capitalism, speed, globalization,
45:03
Speaker 1: and economic power. Nowhere is this synthesis better on display
45:09
Speaker 1: than in offshore tax havens. You know, folks, it is
45:15
Speaker 1: insane to me that these people continue to get away
45:18
Speaker 1: with this, that they continue to find ways, new and
45:21
Speaker 1: creative ways, to avoid paying their fair share, to avoid
45:25
Speaker 1: paying their taxes. Meanwhile, you're under the microscope. Meanwhile, make
45:31
Speaker 1: one mistake on your tax return, and here comes the audit.
45:37
Speaker 1: All of these banks, all of these institutions, all of
45:41
Speaker 1: these corporations, That get up there on a regular basis
45:44
Speaker 1: and talk down to us. Really are some of the
45:48
Speaker 1: biggest hypocrites in the whole world. Because most of these people.
45:54
Speaker 1: They're not paying one single dollar in taxes even. And
45:58
Speaker 1: what's worse. They're parking their money in places. Where these
46:03
Speaker 1: drug dealers park their money. Or where these child molesters
46:06
Speaker 1: park their money. And besides a little bit of a
46:11
Speaker 1: hit on their reputation. Nothing ever comes from it. So
46:16
Speaker 1: there needs to be a more stringent regulation of these
46:20
Speaker 1: offshore firms. It's not like any of us are going
46:23
Speaker 1: to get caught up in it, right? So again, these people,
46:27
Speaker 1: the so-called elite, have proved to us time and time
46:29
Speaker 1: again that they can't be trusted. So the financial system,
46:34
Speaker 1: all of this needs to be highly regulated. Unfortunately, when
46:39
Speaker 1: the politicians are in on the grift... It's going to
46:43
Speaker 1: be very hard for that to occur. If you'd like
