Whom the Lord Loveth
Scripture teaches that God’s discipline is not cruelty but care. The Hebrew paquadh means both “to visit” and “to chasten” to punish and to care. Like a kite, we only rise when there is restraint. Without it, we crash.
Our age confuses freedom with the absence of limits, but true freedom is found in obedience. “Whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth” (Heb. 12:6). God’s restraints are not bondage they are love in action, guiding us to soar rather than fall.
