Speaker 1: If I'm not working, then how is it that the
• 0:03
Speaker 1: FBI delivered the safest America under President Trump's leadership in
• 0:06
Speaker 1: the history of our country.
• 0:08
Speaker 2: And so, you know what.
• 0:09
Speaker 1: They can beat their drums and stand next to toxic
• 0:12
Speaker 1: waste all they want, but that doesn't make it toxic waste.
• 0:14
Speaker 1: And Maria, I'm happy to announce on your show that
• 0:16
Speaker 1: we are not going to take this laying down. You
• 0:18
Speaker 1: want to attack my character, come at me, bring it up.
• 0:21
Speaker 1: I'll see you in court.
• 0:22
Speaker 2: You're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben ferguson.
• 0:26
  Speaker 3: Good Tuesday morning.
• 0:27
Speaker 4: Nice to have you with us on the forty seven
• 0:29
Speaker 4: Morning Update, and we've got two major.
• 0:31
  Speaker 3: Stories for you.
• 0:32
Speaker 4: First up, Donald Trump enacting the Defense Production Act to
• 0:37
Speaker 4: boost US old production.
• 0:39
Speaker 3: So what does this mean for you? I'll explain it
• 0:42
  Speaker 3: for you.
• 0:42
Speaker 4: And it could also mean major price changes at the
• 0:45
Speaker 4: pump as well. Also, in a shocking move, Dan Rather
• 0:50
Speaker 4: and more than two hundred journalists have signed an open
• 0:52
Speaker 4: letter demanding the White House Correspondence Association call out Donald
• 0:57
Speaker 4: Trump to his face at Saturday's It's Dinner.
• 1:00
Speaker 3: I'll have those details as well.
• 1:03
Speaker 4: I want to take a quick moment and talk to
• 1:04
Speaker 4: you about an incredible organization and it is called Compassion International,
• 1:09
Speaker 4: and how you can get involved. I want you to
• 1:12
Speaker 4: pause what you're doing for just one minute, and I
• 1:14
Speaker 4: want you to hear about Alejandra. She lives in a
• 1:18
Speaker 4: remote community with very few resources and little to no healthcare.
• 1:23
Speaker 4: So when Alexandra gets sick, her parents have no real options,
• 1:27
Speaker 4: no doctors in their community, and no money for real
• 1:31
Speaker 4: medical care. By the third day, her body was shutting down.
• 1:35
Speaker 4: She woke up and just long enough to tell her mom,
• 1:39
  Speaker 4: I can't take the pain anymore. I can't keep going.
• 1:43
Speaker 4: Her parents drove hours to find a doctor who tried everything,
• 1:48
Speaker 4: but she needed a private hospital and that was impossible
• 1:52
Speaker 4: for her family to afford. And that is when Compassion
• 1:55
Speaker 4: International stepped in. Now through Compassion Alejandra treated and against
• 2:01
Speaker 4: all odds, she survived. She lived because someone just like
• 2:06
Speaker 4: you took action right now. Unfortunately, there are children just
• 2:10
Speaker 4: like Alejandra who won't survive unless someone like you steps in.
• 2:15
Speaker 4: Compassion International partners with local churches, providing children with the
• 2:20
Speaker 4: support that they need, critical medical care, plus food, education
• 2:26
Speaker 4: and the hope of the gospel, all in Jesus's name.
• 2:30
Speaker 4: So help a child just like Alejandra. Today you can
• 2:34
Speaker 4: visit Compassion dot com. That's Compassion dot Com. It's the
• 2:39
Speaker 4: forty seven Morning Update and it starts right now.
• 2:43
  Speaker 2: Story number one.
• 2:44
Speaker 4: We're gonna start with Donald Trump and big news coming
• 2:47
Speaker 4: from the White House, as the President has now cited
• 2:50
Speaker 4: the Defense Production Act to boost US oil production. Now,
• 2:56
Speaker 4: let me walk you through this major development. It could
• 2:58
Speaker 4: have serious implications not only for your wallet, also your
• 3:03
Speaker 4: energy bill and America's position on the world stage. Now,
• 3:07
Speaker 4: President Trump has moved to invoke the Defense Production Act,
• 3:11
Speaker 4: and this time it's aimed squarely at one thing, boosting
• 3:15
Speaker 4: US old production. The White House is confirming. Now that
• 3:19
Speaker 4: might sound like some politics to you, right, like bureaucratic jargon,
• 3:24
Speaker 4: But make no mistake, this is directly going to affect
• 3:29
Speaker 4: your life in a very big way. Now, let's talk
• 3:32
Speaker 4: about what the Defense Production Act even is. It's a
• 3:36
Speaker 4: powerful Cold War air law. It was originally designed to
• 3:40
Speaker 4: ensure the United States could rapidly ramp up production of
• 3:44
Speaker 4: critical minerals during times of national emergency.
• 3:49
Speaker 3: You think about War two.
• 3:50
Speaker 4: You needed steel, you needed weapons, you need medical supplies.
• 3:55
Speaker 4: Now we've seen it used in modern times during the
• 3:58
Speaker 4: crisis not too long ago, COVID and what was it
• 4:02
Speaker 4: used for to accelerate the vaccine as well as PPE production.
• 4:07
Speaker 4: But now the target is new and this time it's
• 4:11
Speaker 4: straight up energy. Energy, by the way, is not just
• 4:15
Speaker 4: about filling your gas tank. It's also about national security,
• 4:19
Speaker 4: one of the things the President's been talking a lot
• 4:21
Speaker 4: about lately, making sure that America isn't held hostage by
• 4:25
Speaker 4: Iran or any other country in the world. It's also
• 4:29
Speaker 4: about economic stability and global leverage. If you don't know
• 4:34
Speaker 4: what you're going to pay each month for energy costs
• 4:37
Speaker 4: and they skyrocket or double and triple in no time
• 4:40
Speaker 4: at all, well, that is instability, something the present also
• 4:45
Speaker 4: wants to make sure we get rid of now. For years,
• 4:48
Speaker 4: the US has been in a toga war with foreign
• 4:51
Speaker 4: energy producers, countries like Russia, for example, Iran and then Opek.
• 4:58
Speaker 4: They can manipulate supply and drive up global prices basically
• 5:03
Speaker 4: whenever they want to. Part of the reason why the
• 5:06
Speaker 4: President has made it clear in his first campaign in
• 5:08
Speaker 4: twenty sixteen that he was about drill, baby, drill, and
• 5:13
Speaker 4: that's exactly what the President's talking about this time now.
• 5:17
Speaker 4: When supply is tight, the prices are spiking, and you're
• 5:20
Speaker 4: witnessing it right now. I went today to fill up
• 5:23
Speaker 4: my car that I bought not that long ago, and
• 5:26
Speaker 4: originally when I filled it up, it was thirty seven dollars.
• 5:29
Speaker 4: Today I put ninety dollars in my gas tank. That
• 5:33
Speaker 4: is unsustainable for many Americans. And that's why President Trump
• 5:38
Speaker 4: is doing this now.
• 5:40
  Speaker 3: Whether it's the.
• 5:40
Speaker 4: Price of the pump, or the electric bill, the grocery store,
• 5:46
Speaker 4: it doesn't matter. As the White House said, when transportation
• 5:49
Speaker 4: costs go up, it hurts American families, it weakens our economy,
• 5:56
Speaker 4: and we're now, as the White House said, taking back. Now,
• 6:01
Speaker 4: let me explain how the Defense Production Act works. Now.
• 6:05
Speaker 4: By invoking this Act, the federal government can number one,
• 6:09
Speaker 4: prioritize contracts for domestic all production. Number two direct resources
• 6:15
Speaker 4: like steel, labor, and infrastructure towards energy development. Three, it
• 6:21
Speaker 4: now cuts through major regulatory delays. And four, it provides
• 6:26
Speaker 4: financial incentives or even guarantees to producers to produce maximum capacity.
• 6:33
Speaker 4: In other words, it fast tracks production, which is exactly
• 6:37
Speaker 4: what America needs right now. So instead of waiting years
• 6:41
Speaker 4: for permits or pipelines or refinery upgrades, the government can
• 6:45
Speaker 4: accelerate the process dramatically. It's essentially putting all production on
• 6:51
  Speaker 4: a wartime footing.
• 6:53
Speaker 3: Let me say that again.
• 6:54
Speaker 4: We're putting all production in the US on a wartime footing.
• 6:58
Speaker 4: We're treating energy into penance, not just as an important issue,
• 7:02
Speaker 4: but literally as a national emergency and a national security
• 7:08
Speaker 4: issue as well. So what does that mean for US
• 7:11
Speaker 4: oil production? Well, the goal here is real simple. We
• 7:16
Speaker 4: need to increase output quickly and at scale. That can
• 7:21
Speaker 4: mean reopening or expanding drilling operations, boosting output from existing wells,
• 7:27
Speaker 4: investing in refining capacity so crude oil actually becomes usable
• 7:33
  Speaker 4: fuel faster.
• 7:35
Speaker 3: And here's the key.
• 7:36
Speaker 4: The United States already has massive reserves and the capability
• 7:40
Speaker 4: to lead globally. The issue has never been weather we
• 7:44
Speaker 4: can produce, it's whether we will, and this move clearly
• 7:48
Speaker 4: answers that question. So for a consumer, is this good news? Well,
• 7:53
Speaker 4: let's bring that home to you and your family. If
• 7:57
Speaker 4: what the President's trying to do is successful and using
• 8:00
Speaker 4: supply should number one lower energy prices, specifically gas prices.
• 8:06
Speaker 4: It will stabilize the energy markets, meaning you know what
• 8:09
Speaker 4: to plan on spending each and every month, reduce the
• 8:13
Speaker 4: volatility caused by foreign conflicts or production cuts from OPEK
• 8:18
Speaker 4: or other nations, giving them the upper hand well and
• 8:22
Speaker 4: taking it right back, which is what the present's trying
• 8:25
Speaker 4: to do. When supply goes up, prices tend to come
• 8:29
Speaker 4: down or at least stop skyrocketing, which is exactly why
• 8:33
Speaker 4: this matters for every American And maybe most importantly, it
• 8:38
Speaker 4: means less dependence on foreign oil, something the present ran
• 8:43
Speaker 4: on in twenty sixteen. It reduces the risk of sudden
• 8:46
Speaker 4: shocks to the market when geopolitical tensions flare up in
• 8:50
Speaker 4: the Middle East or Eastern Europe. And beyond gas prices,
• 8:55
Speaker 4: there's also a major ripple effect. Cheaper fuel lower shipping costs,
• 9:00
Speaker 4: and lowering shipping costs can ease inflation and what you
• 9:03
Speaker 4: pay for basic goods and services. That affects everything from
• 9:08
Speaker 4: your groceries to online orders. So this isn't just an
• 9:13
Speaker 4: energy policy decision coming from Donald Trump. It's an economic
• 9:18
Speaker 4: policy and a national security policy as well, and it
• 9:22
Speaker 4: goes back to what Trump has been talking about for
• 9:25
  Speaker 4: quite some time.
• 9:27
  Speaker 3: There's a strategic layer here.
• 9:29
Speaker 4: Energy dominance gives the United States leverage on the global stage.
• 9:35
Speaker 4: It means we're not only less reliance on our adversaries,
• 9:39
Speaker 4: but also more ability to influence our allies. It gives
• 9:44
Speaker 4: us so much stronger negotiating place to the table and
• 9:47
Speaker 4: negotiating from a standpoint of power in international conflicts. It's
• 9:52
Speaker 4: also really about controlling our own destiny because the countries
• 9:57
Speaker 4: that control energy often control the conversation. Now, not everyone
• 10:03
Speaker 4: agrees with this move. The critics are already yelling on
• 10:07
Speaker 4: TV and from the rooftops. They're saying this will have
• 10:11
Speaker 4: environmental consequences because it's not done in a green way.
• 10:15
Speaker 4: It may distort markets with government intervention, they say, which
• 10:19
Speaker 4: they don't want. But to be clear, what this is
• 10:22
Speaker 4: really about is the President saying to the American people,
• 10:26
Speaker 4: I'm going to do everything I can to make sure
• 10:28
Speaker 4: that national security wise were safe. But also you have
• 10:32
Speaker 4: more of your hard earned dollars in your pocket. And
• 10:36
Speaker 4: why are Democrats fighting this right now? It's actually for
• 10:39
Speaker 4: just one really simple reason. They want gas prices to
• 10:44
Speaker 4: say hi, and they want you to feel instability in
• 10:48
Speaker 4: your own life financially heading into the midterm elections. To
• 10:52
Speaker 4: be clear, Democrats have never had a problem with high
• 10:55
Speaker 4: gas prices. They want to force you into buying an
• 10:58
Speaker 4: electric car. But this time it's for a different reason.
• 11:02
Speaker 4: They want you to hurt and your family to hurt
• 11:05
Speaker 4: so that maybe you'll vote for them come November. And
• 11:08
Speaker 4: that's part of the reason why the president needs to
• 11:10
Speaker 4: act quickly and decisively, just like he did today.
• 11:14
Speaker 3: Next story number two.
• 11:16
Speaker 4: There's something incredibly ironic and it just is laughable at
• 11:20
Speaker 4: this point happening in Washington, DC. Dan Rather is now
• 11:24
Speaker 4: among two hundred journalists, you know, those that say they're journalists, right,
• 11:28
Speaker 4: non bias individuals, those that say they don't put their
• 11:32
Speaker 4: own personal opinions into their journalistic work, their integrity, we
• 11:37
Speaker 4: all know they're lying. There's massive bias in the media
• 11:40
Speaker 4: almost every quote journalists. When they quit, they become a
• 11:43
Speaker 4: radical lefty. They start a podcast and then they tell
• 11:47
Speaker 4: you what they really think, which is what they've always
• 11:49
Speaker 4: thought along. They hate conservatives, they hate Donald Trump, Orange man.
• 11:52
  Speaker 3: It's bad.
• 11:53
Speaker 4: You go through the list, it's pretty clear. Well now
• 11:56
Speaker 4: these journalists of two hundred plus have joined the longtime
• 12:02
Speaker 4: media figure, you know, the non biased and Rather and
• 12:06
Speaker 4: now they're demanding that the White House Correspondence Center call
• 12:10
Speaker 4: out Donald Trump to his face. That's right, they're calling
• 12:14
Speaker 4: for President Trump to be publicly admonished at the White
• 12:18
Speaker 4: House correspondence dinner. Now just think about that for a second.
• 12:22
Speaker 4: This is the one night that's supposed to celebrate journalism.
• 12:26
Speaker 4: It's independence, its integrity, it's commitment to holding power accountable
• 12:32
Speaker 4: no matter who's in office. And yet what we're seeing
• 12:36
Speaker 4: is not independence, it's coordination. It's not objectivity, it's literally activism.
• 12:43
Speaker 4: Because when you have more than two hundred journalists collectively
• 12:47
Speaker 4: demanding a political message be delivered, and at what's supposed
• 12:52
Speaker 4: to be a non partisan event, you're not acting like
• 12:58
Speaker 4: referees anymore, stepping into the field and being an activist. Now,
• 13:04
Speaker 4: the issue isn't whether you agree or disagree with Donald Trump.
• 13:08
Speaker 4: The issue for me is this is journalism still journalism,
• 13:13
Speaker 4: or whether it's becoming a political movement with press credentials.
• 13:17
Speaker 3: That's what I believe it actually is.
• 13:20
Speaker 4: And when reporters who claim they're non biased start organizing
• 13:24
Speaker 4: literally like activists, signing letters, pushing narratives, demanding public denouncement
• 13:32
Speaker 4: of the President of United States of America to his face,
• 13:35
Speaker 4: not only are they boring the line that they're supposed
• 13:38
Speaker 4: to protect, but they're telling you exactly who they are.
• 13:41
Speaker 3: They're not journalists at all. They're hardcore liberal.
• 13:45
Speaker 4: Activists, and that is exactly why the public has lost
• 13:49
Speaker 4: their trust in journalism.
• 13:52
Speaker 3: Now, let's be honest, this is not new.
• 13:55
Speaker 4: This is just another blaring example of how biased the
• 13:57
Speaker 4: media has become. We've seid years of selective outrage where
• 14:02
Speaker 4: some politicians are relentlessly targeted while others get a huge pass.
• 14:07
Speaker 4: If you don't believe me, look at Eric Swallow's entire career,
• 14:10
Speaker 4: and the only reason why the media turned on him
• 14:12
Speaker 4: last week was because they were afraid they were going
• 14:14
Speaker 4: to lose the governor's mansion in California. They protected him
• 14:18
Speaker 4: while he was going after women, but then when it
• 14:22
Speaker 4: was politically expedient to get rid of him, the journalists
• 14:25
Speaker 4: started acting like journalists and reporting the news. We've seen
• 14:29
Speaker 4: this over and over again, and yet what do we
• 14:34
Speaker 4: see from the press a clearly coordinated push to turn
• 14:38
Speaker 4: a dinner that's supposed to be nonpartisan into their political platform.
• 14:43
Speaker 3: Imagine for a moment, if the roles were reversed.
• 14:46
Speaker 4: If two hundred journalists demanded a public takedown of a
• 14:49
Speaker 4: Democratic president at this event, would it be framed as
• 14:53
Speaker 4: speaking truth to power? Or would it be condemned as biased,
• 14:57
Speaker 4: as inappropriate, as crossing the line. We all know that answer.
• 15:02
Speaker 4: So what this really means to me is this trust
• 15:05
Speaker 4: in the media is already at historic lows, and it's
• 15:09
Speaker 4: moves like this that don't rebuild the trust. They reinforce
• 15:13
Speaker 4: the skepticism based on facts. Americans are watching and they're
• 15:18
Speaker 4: asking a simple question. Are journalists even reporting the story anymore?
• 15:23
Speaker 4: Or are they actually just trying to manipulate and shape
• 15:25
Speaker 4: a narrative every time they go on TV or write
• 15:28
Speaker 4: an article in the newspaper.
• 15:30
Speaker 3: They're not informing the public anymore.
• 15:33
Speaker 4: They're literally influencing the outcome, and that includes our elections.
• 15:38
  Speaker 3: So if the.
• 15:39
Speaker 4: Correspondence decide to do this at the dinner, I hope
• 15:42
Speaker 4: Donald Trump smacks them back hard, calls them out for
• 15:46
Speaker 4: their anarchy and for what they really are, activist political hacks.
