Speaker 3: on throughout the day now, not the biggest snowfall as
• 1:48
Speaker 3: far as accumulation goes. However, driving is going to be
• 1:52
Speaker 3: pretty tricky, especially later in the day, because temperatures are
• 1:55
Speaker 3: going to continue to drop. It's one of those rare
• 1:57
Speaker 3: situations where your evening commute is going to be worse
• 1:59
Speaker 3: than your morning commute was really not sticking a whole lot,

Speaker 3: We have a few guests to start us off. They
• 2:37
Speaker 3: want to welcome in first, David Payne, who is from
• 2:40
Speaker 3: Charleston Riverfront Water Sports. Good morning, sir, welcome to the show.
• 2:43
Speaker 3: Good morning, Thanks for having me. I was just sitting
• 2:45
Speaker 3: there thanking man. Nothing would be better right now than
• 2:47
Speaker 3: to be on the river on a day like today.
• 2:49
Speaker 3: But I say that in jest. But you got some
• 2:53
Speaker 3: things going on right through the holiday season. I mean
• 2:56
Speaker 3: they would make it perfect, right, correct. Correct.
• 2:58
Speaker 6: We started a service is called the Charleston Christmas Story Tour.
• 3:04
Speaker 6: It's kind of like a Bronco tour through the city
• 3:05
Speaker 6: of Charleston. It will we'll take people out to look
• 3:08
Speaker 6: at the lights of Charleston, just take them to the
• 3:10
Speaker 6: iconic neighborhoods and those kinds of things.
• 3:13
Speaker 3: All right, Well, talk about the part on the river.
• 3:16
Speaker 3: I mean, how did you start this company? Why did
• 3:18
Speaker 3: you start this company?
• 3:18
Speaker 6: Basically I started this company, Charleston Miverfront Water Sports, just
• 3:21
Speaker 6: because I love being the water first of all, and
• 3:23
Speaker 6: Charleston really lacked that here it would, you know, I
• 3:28
Speaker 6: love being the water. Just want to give other people
• 3:30
Speaker 6: opportunity to get on the water. We rent out basically pontoons, kayaks,
• 3:34
Speaker 6: paddle boards, hydro bikes. It just gives people something to
• 3:37
Speaker 6: do when they actually visit the city of Charleston.
• 3:40
Speaker 3: And again we're talking about it's winter time. It's not
• 3:42
Speaker 3: officially winter, but it looks like it out there right now.
• 3:44
Speaker 3: But I know there was a lot of activities going
• 3:47
Speaker 3: on on the river Saturday night, and the Saint Albans
• 3:49
Speaker 3: had their boat parade Saturday night. There was all kinds
• 3:51
Speaker 3: of cool things going on even this time of year.
• 3:53
Speaker 6: Correct, correct, Yeah, boats are still out in the water. Actually,
• 3:56
Speaker 6: we keep our boats on the water all year long.
• 3:58
Speaker 6: So if there happens to be a day where it
• 4:00
Speaker 6: actually becomes warm, if someone wants to get out in
• 4:02
Speaker 6: the water, will take them.
• 4:03
Speaker 3: All right, and that I mean, it's an exciting venture.
• 4:05
Speaker 3: But to you're kind of like a serial entrepreneur man,
• 4:07
Speaker 3: you've always got all kinds of things going on. Tell
• 4:09
Speaker 3: we'll talk about some of the other things you've got
• 4:10
  Speaker 3: going on.
• 4:11
Speaker 6: Well, uh, there's a lot of things going on really,
• 4:15
Speaker 6: but really it's all based around Charleston Miriverfront water Sports.
• 4:18
Speaker 3: I have an airbnb.
• 4:19
Speaker 6: This ran the Charleston Miverfront water Sports basically the top
• 4:23
Speaker 6: soft tour we're gonna have this summer. We're gonna have
• 4:25
Speaker 6: the Kid Safari Tour on the water. We don't have
• 4:28
Speaker 6: a zoo here or an aquarium, but it's our way
• 4:30
Speaker 6: of basic getting the kids out in the water and
• 4:32
  Speaker 6: showing them wildlife.
• 4:33
Speaker 3: So just a lot of cool things. Indeed, but Dave
• 4:36
Speaker 3: Island showing five any life has brought to you apart

• 4:50
Speaker 3: you don't know can't hurt you. Now, you also know
• 4:53
Speaker 3: a little something about even though I think you're retired now,
• 4:55
Speaker 3: but you also know a little something about the Charleston
• 4:59
Speaker 3: Police Department in there annual toy drivers or something you've
• 5:01
Speaker 3: been a part of over the years. Oh, sure, definitely.
• 5:04
  Speaker 3: It's a great, great program.
• 5:05
Speaker 6: I'm glad that they're actually keeping up and going because
• 5:07
Speaker 6: they service a lot of kids throughout the Canaw Valley.
• 5:11
Speaker 6: It's something that's, uh, I always look forward to every year,
• 5:14
Speaker 6: and I'm glad these guys are still looking forward to it.
• 5:16
Speaker 3: Indeed, and these guys are me. Have you introduced yourselves again, gentlemen,
• 5:20
Speaker 3: I'm Travis Bells, Charleston Police Partent man John Brown with
• 5:23
Speaker 3: the Asteric Auto of Charleston. Also know it's Big John.
• 5:26
  Speaker 7: Yeah.
• 5:27
Speaker 3: When you when you when you're large a stature and
• 5:30
Speaker 3: you have the name John, you're automatically Big John. You
• 5:33
Speaker 3: realize that, right, It.
• 5:34
Speaker 7: Just goes with the name.
• 5:35
Speaker 3: I guess they'll the size. Travis will start with you.
• 5:38
Speaker 3: Let's talk about why does Charleston Police do this and
• 5:41
Speaker 3: what is the program?
• 5:42
Speaker 8: Well, every year for the last six years, thanks live
• 5:45
Speaker 8: now retired Lieutenant Payne, we've gathered toys for as many
• 5:49
Speaker 8: kids as we can help in the community. You know,
• 5:51
Speaker 8: prior to that we would do the you know, the
• 5:53
Speaker 8: shop with the cop but Lieutenant Payne figured, you know,
• 5:56
Speaker 8: this would be a better way to reach more children.
• 5:58
Speaker 8: So with the help of ask Borgatto, We've and all
• 6:01
Speaker 8: our other sponsors, we've been able to reach hundreds of
• 6:04
Speaker 8: children each year. So we're excited to keep that trend going.
• 6:07
Speaker 8: We'll be up at the South Ridge Sam's Club this
• 6:09
Speaker 8: year on the parking lot taking toys this weekend Friday,
• 6:14
  Speaker 8: Saturday and Sunday.
• 6:14
Speaker 3: And what's the times on that.
• 6:16
Speaker 8: We'll be there from eight to nine in the morning
• 6:18
Speaker 8: till about eight or nine at night.
• 6:20
Speaker 3: Well, then I want to ask you what was your
• 6:23
Speaker 3: what was the original idea behind this? So about about
• 6:25
Speaker 3: getting this thing and how long? How long has it
• 6:27
  Speaker 3: been going on?
• 6:28
Speaker 6: This will be the sixth here, So basically when it
• 6:30
Speaker 6: first started, it was during COVID. I reached out to
• 6:32
Speaker 6: our FOP organization to see if we had money for
• 6:36
Speaker 6: a shop with the cop and that year they didn't
• 6:39
Speaker 6: have any money. And I said, basically, I never really
• 6:41
Speaker 6: wanted us to be in that position again where we
• 6:43
Speaker 6: couldn't go out and help kids. So I went to
• 6:45
Speaker 6: the chief at the time and said, hey, listen, what
• 6:47
Speaker 6: do you think about a toy drive? And he said,
• 6:49
Speaker 6: let's roll with it. My idea back then basically was
• 6:51
Speaker 6: having a truck, getting our truck going up under the
• 6:54
Speaker 6: interstate and hopefully getting like a truckload of toys. One
• 6:58
Speaker 6: thing led to the next, and it just came bigger
• 7:00
  Speaker 6: and better.
• 7:00
  Speaker 3: Reached out.
• 7:01
Speaker 6: A lot of my friends at Low's Astorg actually called
• 7:04
Speaker 6: me that week, and they've made it bigger and better.
• 7:07
Speaker 6: That's how it all started.
• 7:08
Speaker 3: Basically, how many if you had to put a ballpark
• 7:11
Speaker 3: figure on either the number of kids that you've served
• 7:14
Speaker 3: or the number of toys you distributed either one.
• 7:16
Speaker 6: Well, I think last year it was probably close to
• 7:18
Speaker 6: a thousand. We basically had about eight hundred kids that
• 7:22
Speaker 6: signed up, but we also gave toys to our community centers,
• 7:26
  Speaker 6: our daycares.
• 7:27
Speaker 4: I mean so many.
• 7:28
Speaker 6: Toys went out last year. It was a huge I
• 7:30
Speaker 6: would say probably close to a thousand.
• 7:32
Speaker 3: And how do kids sign up for this?
• 7:35
Speaker 8: Next week, after we've gathered most of our toys and
• 7:37
Speaker 8: know how many we can help, we will open a
• 7:39
Speaker 8: sign up link on the Charleston Police Department Facebook page.
• 7:43
Speaker 8: There's also a Facebook page just for the Winner Winnerland
• 7:45
Speaker 8: Toy Drive itself, which you can find easily off our
• 7:47
Speaker 8: page or just you to do a Facebook search. But
• 7:49
Speaker 8: we will open that up on there for anybody to
• 7:51
Speaker 8: sign up. They can list how many kids they have,
• 7:53
Speaker 8: their ages, and we'll until we're full well, will help
• 7:57
Speaker 8: as many kids as we can.
• 7:58
Speaker 3: And this is open to any parent or grandparent that
• 8:01
Speaker 3: wants to put a kid on or I guess anybody
• 8:03
  Speaker 3: for that matter.
• 8:03
Speaker 8: Right, Yeah, I'm not gonna turn any kids a way.
• 8:05
Speaker 8: As long as we have the toys, we're gonna get
• 8:07
  Speaker 8: them out.
• 8:07
Speaker 3: All right. And uh, John, let's talk about Astrogato's part
• 8:11
Speaker 3: in and in this whole thing.
• 8:13
Speaker 9: Well, Rob King and uh sergeant well Lieutenant Payne kind
• 8:18
Speaker 9: of really got this started with astrokar of Charleston, and
• 8:22
Speaker 9: then I think the following year I became Rob said,
• 8:25
Speaker 9: hey man, we need some more helping, you know, getting
• 8:27
Speaker 9: this thing out, and worried out about the toy drive
• 8:29
Speaker 9: that we're we're coming involved with and an Astroig is
• 8:34
Speaker 9: on board with it every year. You know Jamie Spears,
• 8:37
Speaker 9: he's he's a very good owner and he wants to
• 8:39
Speaker 9: try to help the community all all that he can.
• 8:41
Speaker 9: So anything for the Charleston Police Apartment. I say, hey, Jamie,
• 8:45
Speaker 9: I need to check. He said, Okay, go upstairs and
• 8:47
Speaker 9: talk to Terry. But if you got toys and you
• 8:50
Speaker 9: want to drop them off, like Sergeant Travis said up
• 8:53
Speaker 9: in our last interview, which is a good idea. So uh,
• 8:58
Speaker 9: if you see a Charleston Police Department just you know,
• 9:01
Speaker 9: flagging or whatever, just driving and you can't make it
• 9:04
Speaker 9: up to the to the new location at the Sam's
• 9:07
Speaker 9: parking lot, just say hey, could you get these toys
• 9:09
Speaker 9: to Lieutenant Sergeant Travis and Big John for the toy
• 9:14
Speaker 9: drive so they could drop them off to our truck
• 9:17
Speaker 9: that we're going to have at station at the at
• 9:19
  Speaker 9: the location.
• 9:20
Speaker 3: So anybody know what the hottest toys are this year,
• 9:22
  Speaker 3: what everybody's gonna be asking for. Because I don't I
• 9:24
  Speaker 3: don't have kids, so I wouldn't know.
• 9:26
Speaker 8: I have no idea that borderline to where they more
• 9:30
Speaker 8: lut electronics and clothes. I'm not really I'm not really
• 9:32
Speaker 8: sure about the tickle me elmos of the day.
• 9:35
Speaker 3: The yeah, but well see my my generation, it was
• 9:39
Speaker 3: all hot wheels and matchboxing, I'm you know, those all
• 9:42
Speaker 3: those all that stuff. So about as you know astwords
• 9:46
Speaker 3: auto uh and you guys always go above and beyond
• 9:49
Speaker 3: when it comes to doing things like this. Do you
• 9:52
Speaker 3: get to actually go out when they when they distribute
• 9:54
Speaker 3: the toys are I know, you folks will probably usually there,
• 9:56
  Speaker 3: aren't you.
• 9:57
  Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm there.
• 9:58
Speaker 9: We have it set up at the Civic center. I'm
• 10:00
Speaker 9: sure we'll be at the same location. And some parents,
• 10:05
Speaker 9: you know, they you know, they work and don't have
• 10:07
Speaker 9: you know, some of the kids are still a little
• 10:09
Speaker 9: and not able to I guess they don't have babysitters
• 10:12
Speaker 9: that day. So you do see some of the kids
• 10:15
Speaker 9: come in with the parents and it is kind of
• 10:17
Speaker 9: a real touchy feeling, you know, you know, Lieutenant Payne
• 10:21
Speaker 9: walk the kid around and let them pick out whatever
• 10:23
Speaker 9: toys that they want, and you know, it was.
• 10:25
  Speaker 4: It's just it's just it's just it's just good.
• 10:27
  Speaker 9: It's for a good cause and it's it's a really
• 10:29
  Speaker 9: good feeling.
• 10:29
Speaker 3: The kids in the candy store analogy, Oh the kids
• 10:33
Speaker 3: under toys. We'll tell them go pick you know, three
• 10:35
  Speaker 3: four toys.
• 10:36
Speaker 9: And you know, because some people will come in and say, well,
• 10:38
Speaker 9: I signed up and I didn't get the email. And
• 10:41
Speaker 9: if we have some leftovers, you know, like you know,
• 10:44
Speaker 9: Lieutenant Payne and Sergeant Travis said, we don't want to
• 10:47
Speaker 9: leave any kids out.
• 10:48
Speaker 4: You know, nobody's going to.
• 10:49
  Speaker 3: Be left behind.
• 10:50
Speaker 9: So we're going to try to distribute as many as
• 10:52
  Speaker 9: that we can.
• 10:52
Speaker 3: If I know, Astok is the kind of the presenting
• 10:55
Speaker 3: sponsor on this, but any other businesses out there or
• 10:58
Speaker 3: organizations that would like to get involved, you know, civic
• 11:00
Speaker 3: groups or maybe a school as a service project would
• 11:03
Speaker 3: like to take this on. How would they do that?
• 11:05
Speaker 3: How would they get involved?
• 11:06
Speaker 9: Well, you can reach out to me my cell phone
• 11:10
Speaker 9: three zero four four one five five two zero eight.
• 11:13
Speaker 9: You can stop by astrok Auto of Charleston Extra, John
• 11:16
Speaker 9: Brown or Rob King. You can drop toys off at
• 11:20
Speaker 9: any of our locations. We also have a location on
• 11:23
Speaker 9: Patrick Street Plaza Asteroid location and also we're up at
• 11:27
Speaker 9: the main facilities of the South Ridge next to Applebee's.
• 11:31
Speaker 3: All right, give us the details again, Go ahead, Travis.
• 11:33
Speaker 8: Yeah, it'll be this weekend Friday, starrying Sunday the twelve
• 11:36
Speaker 8: thirteenth or fourteenth, at the Sames Club parking lot. Well,
• 11:38
Speaker 8: you won't be able to miss this, so we're going
• 11:40
Speaker 8: to have all kinds of decorations. We'll be there taking
• 11:43
Speaker 8: toys and get them into the hands of the kids
• 11:44
  Speaker 8: that need them.
• 11:45
Speaker 3: Well, somebody, I know Thursday night, the Charleston Christmas Parade
• 11:48
Speaker 3: is being held. I know you guys are going to
• 11:50
Speaker 3: be really really busy there, but you probably have some
• 11:52
Speaker 3: information you probably would accept. Somebody wanted to me you
• 11:54
Speaker 3: don't want to get bogged down with toys when you're
• 11:56
Speaker 3: trying to direct traffic or whatever, but not a horrible idea. Yeah, yeah,
• 12:00
Speaker 3: bring them down there.
• 12:01
Speaker 8: I'll probably be on Summer Street near our office there
• 12:03
Speaker 8: in slack Plausa, So if you track me down, I'll
• 12:06
Speaker 8: make sure I can at least I'll take them. I'll
• 12:08
Speaker 8: find something to do with them.
• 12:08
Speaker 3: What about cash donations if somebody wants to do that.
• 12:11
Speaker 8: I know that the Charleston Sizons Police Academy Alumnae Association
• 12:14
Speaker 8: is taking cash donations. There's a link to that on
• 12:18
Speaker 8: the Facebook page as well.
• 12:19
Speaker 3: All right, well guys, it's always a pleasure to have
• 12:22

• 15:16
Speaker 3: announcement came Friday that the Canawa County Emergency Ambulance Authority
• 15:20
Speaker 3: and high Marked Blue Cross Blue Shield as it pertains
• 15:23
Speaker 3: a reimbursement for the ambulance services, had reached an agreement.
• 15:25
Speaker 3: Tom Sussman as a spokesperson for the ambulance service and
• 15:28
Speaker 3: it joined us. Now, good morning, sir, and welcome to
• 15:30
  Speaker 3: the show.
• 15:30
Speaker 7: Good morning, happy Snowy. Was this Monday?
• 15:33
  Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, it's a Monday. It's a Monday all around.
• 15:36
Speaker 3: So what was we had you on when this news
• 15:39
Speaker 3: first came out about the what's the word I'm looking
• 15:44
Speaker 3: for about the conflict, if you will like a better term.
• 15:48
Speaker 3: What was a major bone of contention here?
• 15:50
Speaker 7: Well, the issue was that it cost a certain amount
• 15:53
Speaker 7: to deliver ambulance services in this county and the level
• 15:57
Speaker 7: of reimbursement that we were getting from high Mark was
• 16:01
Speaker 7: below that cost, and we needed to readjust those rates.
• 16:07
Speaker 7: Don't believe that they were in a position that they
• 16:09
Speaker 7: wanted to do that, and so if you can't make
• 16:12
Speaker 7: it work, then you basically have to decide how you
• 16:16
Speaker 7: want to proceed. And the authority decided to give them
• 16:20
Speaker 7: a nose of cancelation, and then we kind of went
• 16:23
Speaker 7: back and forth for about a month and a half
• 16:25
Speaker 7: and I only came to an agreement and rescinded the cancelation.
• 16:29
Speaker 3: Well, and when I had you on a couple of
• 16:32
Speaker 3: months ago, when this news first came out, you know,
• 16:34
Speaker 3: we were hopeful that we would get that we would
• 16:36
Speaker 3: get it settled and get it sut settled relatively quickly.
• 16:39
Speaker 3: And it seems to me like you did.
• 16:40
Speaker 7: Well. I mean, it took a while. But what we
• 16:42
Speaker 7: wanted to do is there were folks that were making
• 16:44
Speaker 7: decision on their Medicare advantage for Blue Cross, Blue Shield
• 16:48
Speaker 7: or Human or whomever, and so we wanted to give
• 16:51
Speaker 7: them plenty of notice of what we were doing. And
• 16:53
Speaker 7: we also wanted to give them notice you know, the
• 16:56
Speaker 7: deadlines today, to let them know that, hey, you know,
• 16:59
Speaker 7: we've gotten it, got.
• 17:00
Speaker 3: It resolved, okay, all right, So I guess it took
• 17:02
Speaker 3: a little bit longer than I thought that. Yeah, yeah, okay,
• 17:06
Speaker 3: And how were the negotiations. I don't know if you
• 17:08
Speaker 3: were actually part of it. I know you're the spokesparts,
• 17:10
Speaker 3: but how were the negotiations.
• 17:11
Speaker 7: We're fine. I mean, you go back and forth. It's
• 17:13
Speaker 7: the normal negotiations. You know, they get mad at you,
• 17:16
Speaker 7: You get mad at them, they get mad at you,
• 17:17
Speaker 7: You get back at you.
• 17:18
Speaker 3: Then you come to well, luckily you have a little
• 17:21
Speaker 3: bit of background in that, being in the legislature as
• 17:23
Speaker 3: you were for years and being in the political game,
• 17:25
Speaker 3: you know, so you had a little bit of background
• 17:26
  Speaker 3: in this.
• 17:27
Speaker 7: And I'd worked with the MS Coalition probably twenty years
• 17:31
Speaker 7: ago before I went into state government with Governor Wise,
• 17:35
Speaker 7: and we'd gone back and forth. So this is this
• 17:37
Speaker 7: is there, and the reality is that the cost to
• 17:43
Speaker 7: deliver ambulance service is pretty significant. You have to be
• 17:46
Speaker 7: ready to deliver that. And the folks that are paying
• 17:49
Speaker 7: for these services, especially these third party payers and terms companies,
• 17:53
Speaker 7: they need to pay their fair share. We weren't asking
• 17:55
Speaker 7: them to pay dollars above what was their responsibility. We
• 17:59
Speaker 7: weren't trying to, you know, have them pay for people
• 18:02
Speaker 7: who couldn't pay what.
• 18:03
Speaker 3: Would have been tom the worst case scenario.
• 18:06
Speaker 7: Here rab the worst case scenario is that had there
• 18:09
Speaker 7: not been a contract come to or an agreement agreed to,
• 18:14
Speaker 7: then folks who were in Blue Cross blue Shield would
• 18:17
Speaker 7: have been billed by the ambulance agency and not build
• 18:21
Speaker 7: to blue Cross, and then we would have had to
• 18:22
Speaker 7: go for those folks to collect. And Blue Cross is
• 18:27
Speaker 7: one of the few ambulance companies that if you're a
• 18:29
Speaker 7: few insurance companies rather that if you're a non contracted provider,
• 18:34
Speaker 7: they send the payment directly to the member and the
• 18:37
Speaker 7: member cannot do an assignment of benefits to the provider.
• 18:40
Speaker 7: So like if you go into the hospital and you
• 18:43
Speaker 7: have to go to the emergency room, people signed papers,
• 18:46
Speaker 7: those bills are paid to the hospital and not to
• 18:51
Speaker 7: the individual. With Blue Cross, they want those dollars, they
• 18:54
Speaker 7: want those those moneys to go to the member if
• 18:57
Speaker 7: they're a non contracted provider. And for e merging care,
• 19:00
Speaker 7: you don't get to choose your provider. You don't get
• 19:03
Speaker 7: to choose the patient. So if you're a physical therapist,
• 19:06
Speaker 7: not to pick on center attire, but if you're a
• 19:08
Speaker 7: physical therapist and I want to get service, his folks
• 19:12
Speaker 7: can take a look and see if he's got insurance
• 19:14
Speaker 7: and don't have insurance and they can deal with it accordingly.
• 19:18
Speaker 7: With an emergency call, you can't make that decision. You
• 19:21
Speaker 7: have to go take care of the patient. You have
• 19:23
Speaker 7: to go bring that person to the hospital. That's the
• 19:25
Speaker 7: duty of an ambulance company. Well, in that situation, those
• 19:28
Speaker 7: reimbursements should be treated differently than scheduled care. And so
• 19:33
Speaker 7: one of the by products that this is that I
• 19:35
Speaker 7: think the Authority and other members of the coalition are
• 19:38
Speaker 7: going to ask the legislature to deal with this. Is
• 19:41
Speaker 7: it's been dealt with. I think in forty some other
• 19:43
Speaker 7: states where for emergent care there is an automatic assignment
• 19:47
Speaker 7: of benefits if the member wants it.
• 19:49
Speaker 3: Talking to Tom Susman, it's nine twenty seven the Dave
• 19:52
Speaker 3: Island Show on five of d Line is broad to
• 19:54
Speaker 3: part by Morgan to Morgan, America's largest injury law firm.
• 19:57
  Speaker 3: And I think there is a I think a miss
• 20:00
Speaker 3: conception sometimes time that people will think that, well, if
• 20:03
Speaker 3: I have to go to the er, whether it's an
• 20:04
Speaker 3: ambulance called or whatever, that I can be turned away.
• 20:06
Speaker 3: They cannot turn you away.
• 20:08
Speaker 7: Now, you can't. First off, in an ambulans emergency, anlets
• 20:12
Speaker 7: is not going to turn you away in the hospital.
• 20:14
Speaker 7: There's this federal law it's called MTALA don't tell me.
• 20:17
Speaker 7: I can't tell you what it stands for, but it
• 20:20
Speaker 7: requires them to triage and stabilize. And so, yeah, you're
• 20:25
Speaker 7: not going to get turned away from the hospital.
• 20:27
Speaker 3: Are you liberty to discuss the actual negotiations? I mean
• 20:30
Speaker 3: any of the details that went into that.
• 20:32
Speaker 4: Well, we worked through and we.
• 20:33
Speaker 7: Made it where what we came to agreement on includes
• 20:36
Speaker 7: our commercial business and ASO business, and it also covers
• 20:43
Speaker 7: Medicare advantage and it's a pretty decent What's also been
• 20:47
Speaker 7: a nice byproduct is we've heard from other insurance companies
• 20:49
Speaker 7: that we were going to go to to talk with
• 20:51
Speaker 7: them about contracts. So it's really opened the door for
• 20:54
Speaker 7: multiple contracts with different insurance companies.
• 20:57
Speaker 3: Well, we have a story written about it, Aaron Parker
• 21:00
Speaker 3: did Friday afternoon at wv metronews dot com. If you
• 21:02
Speaker 3: want to go read more about it. Well, I guess congratulations.
• 21:05
Speaker 3: Are glad glad that it got taken care of it? Well,
• 21:07
Speaker 3: congratulations not the right word, but I'm glad I got
• 21:09
Speaker 3: taken care of I.
• 21:10
Speaker 7: Mean, did we get everything we wanted?
• 21:11
  Speaker 12: No?
• 21:12
Speaker 7: Did they get everything? They wanted no, So I guess
• 21:14
  Speaker 7: it's a good agreement.
• 21:15
  Speaker 4: All right.
• 21:16
Speaker 3: Can we talk a little politics while you're here, Yes, sir?
• 21:18
Speaker 3: All right? Right, so we got the interims are going
• 21:22
Speaker 3: on now, people starting to look ahead to the special
• 21:25
Speaker 3: session or I mean, I'm sorry to the regular session.
• 21:27
Speaker 3: Anything anything that sticks out to you that you that
• 21:30
Speaker 3: you think that is going to be big this time around.
• 21:33
Speaker 3: I mean it is an election year, you know, the
• 21:35
Speaker 3: all the House seats are up, some of the Senate
• 21:37
Speaker 3: seats are up. So does anything get done now?
• 21:40
Speaker 7: I was saying with someone and I think they're going
• 21:42
Speaker 7: to try and look at this this tax on intangibles again,
• 21:46
Speaker 7: and I think this little property tax work around to
• 21:49
Speaker 7: try and figure out how you deal with that, because
• 21:51
  Speaker 7: I don't know that it's it's functioning as well. I
• 21:54
Speaker 7: heard that that's that's always a good one. And then
• 21:57
Speaker 7: the government keeps talking about some kind of tax relief,
• 21:59
Speaker 7: so I don't know where that takes us. And then
• 22:02
Speaker 7: if the if the federal government does not renew these
• 22:05
Speaker 7: federal tax credits, then the question is going to become
• 22:08
Speaker 7: as what does the state do. When I'm saying tax
• 22:10
Speaker 7: credits for for the affordable care Act, What does the
• 22:14
Speaker 7: state do for a for folks who are uninsured bull
• 22:17
Speaker 7: those are folks who are too sick to get insurance
• 22:20
  Speaker 7: and p E I. There'll be some discussion on p I,
• 22:23
Speaker 7: but a three percent increase compared to what's going on
• 22:25
Speaker 7: in the in the private market, that's not a bad increase. Vaccines,
• 22:30
Speaker 7: I'll call that will be a big one. That one
• 22:32
Speaker 7: will well, we'll be back to the vaccine. And that's
• 22:34
Speaker 7: one where And I think what's interesting is so within
• 22:39
Speaker 7: the Republican Party you now have the closed Republican primaries.
• 22:43
Speaker 7: So therefore I think that the members who are nominated
• 22:46
Speaker 7: from the Republican Party will be much more conservative than
• 22:51
Speaker 7: a lot of the current members by virtue of that.
• 22:54
Speaker 7: So then does that open the door for moderate Democrats
• 22:57
Speaker 7: and I mean moderate, not not the far right far
• 22:59
Speaker 7: left to pick up some seats. It's going to change
• 23:02
Speaker 7: the whole complexion of the legislature.
• 23:05
  Speaker 4: I don't know.
• 23:06
Speaker 3: Here's my take on it when it comes to and
• 23:09
Speaker 3: you're absolutely right about the Republican Party. I mean some
• 23:13
Speaker 3: of the members that are that are in there now
• 23:15
Speaker 3: and I'm not going to mention anyone specifically, but there
• 23:17
Speaker 3: are certain members that serve in this area that are
• 23:19
Speaker 3: considered pretty far right, but we're now seeing people that
• 23:23
Speaker 3: are saying that those people aren't far right enough exactly.
• 23:26
Speaker 7: And then you have a whole group of moderature running
• 23:28
Speaker 7: candidates to try and take out members of the state
• 23:32
Speaker 7: Senate who are too conservative, and I think their issue
• 23:35
Speaker 7: is going to be this closed primary, because the closed
• 23:38
Speaker 7: primary is going to lean even more to the far right.
• 23:41
Speaker 3: Do you think Senator Justice wants to come back and
• 23:44
Speaker 3: run for governor in twenty sixteen? You know, twenty sixteen?
• 23:47
  Speaker 4: What year?
• 23:49
Speaker 3: No, you're wrong, twenty We're in the wrong decade, were
• 23:54
  Speaker 3: the wrong?
• 23:55
  Speaker 2: You know?
• 23:55
Speaker 7: I think probably there's some nostalgia. But then when you
• 23:58
Speaker 7: think about it being in the senate's not a bad gig.
• 24:01
Speaker 7: I mean, you know, probably you know what they call it,
• 24:04
Speaker 7: the most exclusive men's club or club in the world.
• 24:09
Speaker 7: You know, I don't. And then you come back here
• 24:11
Speaker 7: and then you've got to worry about all the various
• 24:12
  Speaker 7: things that happens.
• 24:14
Speaker 3: I would say, not all right, Well, we'll see, all right,

• 27:58
Speaker 3: the folks from the Clay Center are going to stop
• 28:00
Speaker 3: mind doctor Casey Sachs from Bridge Valley. We'll be here
• 28:04
Speaker 3: as well. Do you want to throw this out there?
• 28:06
Speaker 3: Speaking to the Championships, we had a lot of folks
• 28:08
Speaker 3: asking about Joe Bricado. Joe Bacado, we called him the
• 28:12
Speaker 3: hardest working man in sports, and of course he does
• 28:15
Speaker 3: writing for us, he does on air, he does videography.
• 28:18
Speaker 3: He just got ran over on the sidelines, Darren. I
• 28:21
Speaker 3: don't mean to laugh about it during one of the
• 28:23
Speaker 3: games over it lately and a little scary there for
• 28:25
  Speaker 3: a minute. I wasn't at the game. But I had
• 28:27
Speaker 3: a friend of mine that was watching it on Metro
• 28:29
Speaker 3: News television and he texted me and he said, is
• 28:32
Speaker 3: Joe all right? And I said, well, I don't know.
• 28:35
Speaker 3: And it was during the Saturday afternoon game and I
• 28:38
Speaker 3: was able to talk to Joe Saturday night. He was
• 28:41
Speaker 3: taken to the hospital. I mean, you imagine the fourth
• 28:44
Speaker 3: of those players coming right at you. You didn't see
• 28:46
Speaker 3: it coming, and he ran over. But Joe Bro is
• 28:50
Speaker 3: a trooper, and he was saying to the hospital and
• 28:52
Speaker 3: released and is recovering. He did have to watch the
• 28:56
Speaker 3: Nitro game from his hotel room from what I understand though,
• 28:59
Speaker 3: because they that's probably not a good idea for you
• 29:01
Speaker 3: to go back on the sideline, so they put him.
• 29:04
Speaker 3: He went back to the hotel and finished the game there.
• 29:06
Speaker 3: But Joe Bro is gonna be all right. Danny Jones
• 29:09
Speaker 3: is with us right now. Good morning, sir, Welcome to
• 29:11
  Speaker 3: the show.
• 29:12
Speaker 4: Danny Bro, Danny Bro, you like that?
• 29:14
Speaker 3: No, Danny Bro, you know I want to ask you
• 29:17
Speaker 3: this because of course, there's a lot on the weather
• 29:20
Speaker 3: right now, not a huge snowstorm, any stretching the imagination,
• 29:23
Speaker 3: but it is going to cost some slick travel already
• 29:26
Speaker 3: a little bit, but especially like this afternoon, it's going
• 29:28
Speaker 3: to be really really slick as folks start to head home.
• 29:31
Speaker 3: As a mayor, I'm sure you probably don't miss that,
• 29:33
Speaker 3: do you having to watch the weather. I meant you
• 29:36
Speaker 3: had quality people in charge of the streets, but I
• 29:38
Speaker 3: mean you got to be a big part of it
• 29:39
Speaker 3: as well. That's probably one part of being mayor you
• 29:41
  Speaker 3: don't miss.
• 29:42
  Speaker 7: Right, And.
• 29:44
Speaker 4: You know, they make a big deal of this new
• 29:46
Speaker 4: mayor in New York. He's you know what he's gonna
• 29:49
Speaker 4: find out. He's gonna find out about snow, about garbage,
• 29:56
Speaker 4: about police and fire. He doesn't realize he's gonna that's
• 30:04
Speaker 4: all part of being in the weeds is mayor. And
• 30:08
Speaker 4: he thinks this is gonna be he's gonna be have
• 30:10
Speaker 4: a foreign policy and you know, invade Israel or do
• 30:15
  Speaker 4: something like that.
• 30:17
Speaker 3: But he needs to be more concerned about, yeah, just
• 30:21
Speaker 3: about the brocks that he does Israel.
• 30:23
Speaker 4: Just well, just the nuts and bolts of being mayor.
• 30:26
Speaker 4: And you've got to have a certain amount of salt
• 30:31
Speaker 4: backed up over their street department, and you have to
• 30:37
Speaker 4: picking up garbage. It's a big deal. And if you
• 30:42
Speaker 4: think it's not a big deal, try going without it.
• 30:44
Speaker 4: We had a garbage strike in nineteen seventy two and
• 30:48
Speaker 4: I was working at the graveyard. I was taking graves
• 30:53
Speaker 4: and they came up there and this one guy is
• 30:56
Speaker 4: still alive. They came up there and there was three
• 31:01
Speaker 4: guys in a car and the guy in the back
• 31:04
Speaker 4: seat was as big as a back seat, and he
• 31:07
Speaker 4: has shotgun. And they told us to get off the
• 31:11
Speaker 4: hill and be at the council meeting on Monday night.
• 31:15
Speaker 4: And it was a raucous council meeting. Who was mayor
• 31:18
Speaker 4: at that time, Hutchinson, and so garbage dollars started piling up.
• 31:26
Speaker 4: It was a street department. It was a garage, a
• 31:30
Speaker 4: garbage strike. It was a garbage strike in the street department.
• 31:34
Speaker 4: Everybody went out and it was and Hutcheson stood up
• 31:40
Speaker 4: and and and beat them and a bunch of people.
• 31:43
Speaker 4: You know, people worked for the city generationally. I mean
• 31:48
Speaker 4: you have family after family that their kids, their grandparents, everybody,
• 31:54
Speaker 4: they stay at the city. Well this interrupted that because
• 31:57
Speaker 4: they fired a lot of people and I left. I
• 32:00
Speaker 4: went and started selling bottled water for Tyler Mountain.
• 32:04
Speaker 3: Remember that was one of your jobs. You had, yeah,
• 32:06
Speaker 3: a job. I mean everybody knows mayor, sheriff and all
• 32:10
Speaker 3: this other stuff. But if you got down with a
• 32:12
Speaker 3: piece of paper and you wrote down how many different
• 32:13
Speaker 3: jobs have you had?
• 32:14
  Speaker 4: Thirty five?
• 32:15
Speaker 3: Now that's thirty five different places you worked at thirty
• 32:18
Speaker 3: five different job at different occupations.
• 32:20
Speaker 4: Well, there's not that many job because I mean I
• 32:25
Speaker 4: was a waiter at Greenboro Military School. I've got that listed.
• 32:29
  Speaker 4: That's not a job. I mean I got paid, but
• 32:35
Speaker 4: and I was on the Civic Center board of directors.
• 32:39
  Speaker 4: That's not the job. So but I don't know. I
• 32:43
Speaker 4: had quite a few. And sometimes i'd worked two and
• 32:46
Speaker 4: three at one time. When I was a junior in
• 32:49
Speaker 4: high school, I worked two jobs at one time.
• 32:54
Speaker 3: How are things going with the book?
• 32:57
Speaker 4: Well, we saw all we completely sold out, and I've
• 33:00
Speaker 4: got two hundred more copies coming in. But and when
• 33:05
Speaker 4: when will those being I'd say, I'd say ten days.
• 33:12
Speaker 3: What's the uh? Since we talked last week? People that
• 33:15
Speaker 3: I mean, because I know you said you're completely sold out,
• 33:17
Speaker 3: So I know whether you have any new copies out there,
• 33:19
Speaker 3: but maybe somebody's read some other or somebody let somebody
• 33:21
Speaker 3: borrow it or whatever. What are you hearing out there
• 33:23
Speaker 3: about the book. What do people think about What's what's
• 33:25
  Speaker 3: a Responseibil.
• 33:26
Speaker 4: Well, I don't know. If anybody didn't like it, they
• 33:28
  Speaker 4: would tell me.
• 33:30
Speaker 3: Well I would tell you, because I'm your friend, I
• 33:32
Speaker 3: probably tell you off the air. But I enjoyed it.
• 33:34
Speaker 3: I thoroughly enjoyed it. I finished it in like a
• 33:36
Speaker 3: couple of evenings, you know, back to back.
• 33:38
Speaker 4: And I have a friend in North Carolina, lives in Wilmington,
• 33:43
Speaker 4: and he is he's practiced law here and uh, he
• 33:48
Speaker 4: practiced with Rudy de trappin though, and uh he called me,
• 33:52
Speaker 4: he said, man, that was great, and it was there.
• 33:58
Speaker 4: It's a mix of my crazy life when I was
• 34:02
Speaker 4: when I was young. But there's Charleston history there well.
• 34:07
Speaker 3: And it's not just when you were young. I mean
• 34:09
Speaker 3: you also you dive into a lot of your last
• 34:12
Speaker 3: administration and the battle with it, with the needle issue
• 34:16
Speaker 3: and some other things that are that are a little
• 34:17
Speaker 3: bit more current or within the last ten you know,
• 34:21
Speaker 3: the last term that you had.
• 34:22
Speaker 4: Yeah, it was just for the record, I just thought
• 34:25
Speaker 4: i'd mention Huntington close down their needle program. So it
• 34:32
Speaker 4: was the right thing to do.
• 34:35
Speaker 3: So you mentioned it. You asked me if I if
• 34:38
Speaker 3: I saw Marjorie Taylor Green on sixty Minutes last night.
• 34:40
  Speaker 7: I did not.
• 34:41
Speaker 3: I meant to watch it and I forgot. I'm gonna
• 34:43
Speaker 3: go check it out later today online. What's you take
• 34:45
Speaker 3: away from the MTG interview?
• 34:47
Speaker 4: It's on YouTube. I felt sorry for I mean, her
• 34:58
Speaker 4: views and my views obviously different. She doesn't think we
• 35:04
Speaker 4: ought to be involved in Israel or Iran or any
• 35:07
Speaker 4: of that stuff because I'm America First. And you know, folks,
• 35:15
Speaker 4: we had an America First Movement. Please google it, America
• 35:21
Speaker 4: First Committee and google it. It was led by a
• 35:25
Speaker 4: guy named Charles Lindbergh, and it helped get us into
• 35:29
Speaker 4: World War Two. She's an isolationist, but she didn't deserve
• 35:36
Speaker 4: to be treated the way Trump treated her. Call her
• 35:40
Speaker 4: Marjory Trayer Green. And he never had a bigger supporter
• 35:45
  Speaker 4: in Congress. Yeah.
• 35:46
Speaker 3: I think had is the key word there.
• 35:47
Speaker 4: Yeah, And it's just because she she wanted to open
• 35:53
Speaker 4: up those Epstein files. That's what he got mad about
• 35:59
Speaker 4: and started calling her names.
• 36:01
Speaker 3: And now she's announced her resignation. What do you think
• 36:03
Speaker 3: she does next? I think she runs for something else.
• 36:05
Speaker 4: No, I think being in public life has really cost her,
• 36:12
Speaker 4: cost her her marriage. I think it hurt her construction business.
• 36:18
Speaker 4: Now she's opened up a gym and you know she
• 36:21
  Speaker 4: dead list.
• 36:23
Speaker 3: Yeah, I've read that.
• 36:24
Speaker 4: Yeah, she's a really strong lady physically, she's.
• 36:31
Speaker 3: But I mean, in my opinion, I mean, she's going
• 36:34
Speaker 3: to either have her own show or she's going to
• 36:38
Speaker 3: be a frequent contributor because she's very whether you agree
• 36:41
Speaker 3: with her or not, Danny, she's very well spoken in
• 36:44
Speaker 3: what she says. And and you know, I'm gonna say
• 36:48
Speaker 3: this is nicely as I as I can. You know,
• 36:50
Speaker 3: she is not hard to look at, which helps. I
• 36:53
Speaker 3: know that sounds like the most sexist statement in the world,
• 36:55
Speaker 3: but it's true, male or female. If you're if you're
• 36:57
Speaker 3: appealing on camera, people are going to watch.
• 37:01
Speaker 4: Well, it won't be on Fox.
• 37:02
Speaker 3: No, No, it won't be on Fox.
• 37:04
Speaker 4: If it would be on anybody, it would be on CNN.
• 37:08
Speaker 4: But she's been on with Dana Bash a few times.
• 37:17
Speaker 4: But I like her and I felt bad for her.
• 37:20
Speaker 4: And I just don't know why presence or has to
• 37:23
  Speaker 4: call people names. I don't I don't understand.
• 37:27
Speaker 3: That's what he does, and in many cases that's what
• 37:29
Speaker 3: his base wants and they love it.
• 37:33
Speaker 4: Well, Marjorie or Taylor Green used to be part of
• 37:36
Speaker 4: that base, a leading part of that base. And uh,
• 37:41
Speaker 4: I just I think it's sad and she based her
• 37:45
Speaker 4: campaign and her career right around him. Hey, there's I
• 37:50
Speaker 4: just was watching up here on the TV and Netflix
• 37:55
Speaker 4: came across the came across the screen and on Netflix
• 38:02
Speaker 4: there's a thing called The Reckoning and it's done by
• 38:08
Speaker 4: Curtis Jackson, also known as fifty cent yep, and it's
• 38:15
Speaker 4: about P Diddy. Yeah, he's as evil as they come.
• 38:20
Speaker 4: He's as bad as it gets.
• 38:22
Speaker 10: Do you know that?
• 38:23
Speaker 4: There's every reason to believe. And there's a trial next
• 38:27
Speaker 4: year on a guy that was involved. It looks like
• 38:33
Speaker 4: he's the one that paid deaf Tupac killed somebody.
• 38:37
Speaker 3: A friend of mine who's really into the into that scene,
• 38:42
Speaker 3: posted something on social media that he watched it and
• 38:44
Speaker 3: he called it complete garbage. But I don't know. I mean,
• 38:46
Speaker 3: it's in the eyes ears of the beholder, I get that.
• 38:49
Speaker 3: But he he wasn't a fan of it. I mean,
• 38:52
Speaker 3: my friend who really follows was not a fan of it.
• 38:54
Speaker 3: He did I don't know if he just didn't believe
• 38:55
Speaker 3: the story or what he didn't believe. Fifty's story, well,
• 39:00
Speaker 3: most of its have better or a record. And people
• 39:05
Speaker 3: don't like to have their heroes attack. Maybe that's what
• 39:07
Speaker 3: it is. You know, they don't want to believe things
• 39:09
Speaker 3: about their heroes. Maybe that's it. So I have to
• 39:11
Speaker 3: check that out because I love stuff like that when
• 39:13
Speaker 3: it comes to entertainment, biographies and things that I want
• 39:16
Speaker 3: to ask you. You've been following the whole Pete Higgseth
• 39:19
  Speaker 3: drug boat story.
• 39:21
Speaker 4: Okay, your take on it. I wouldn't have voted for
• 39:24
Speaker 4: him to begin with. I don't like him. I mean,
• 39:27
  Speaker 4: I don't think he belonged there, and and I don't
• 39:31
Speaker 4: think anything will come of it. The Democrats don't have
• 39:39
Speaker 4: They will control Congress next year. They will win the election.
• 39:44
Speaker 4: They will take over at least the House of Representatives
• 39:48
Speaker 4: and maybe the Senate. I don't know how many Senate
• 39:50
Speaker 4: seats are up or where they are up, but I
• 39:55
Speaker 4: would look for Trump once that happens in the House,
• 39:59
Speaker 4: I would look for him to the impeached, and that
• 40:01
Speaker 4: might be a count.
• 40:03
Speaker 3: I was watching one of the I think it was
• 40:05
Speaker 3: this week yesterday morning, and they were talking to one
• 40:09
  Speaker 3: leading Republican. I can't I don't remember exactly who it
• 40:11
Speaker 3: was right now, but they were talking to him and
• 40:12
Speaker 3: they asked him about the the the drug boat story,
• 40:15
Speaker 3: and it's just you could tell it was something right
• 40:17
Speaker 3: out of the Trump playbook because he turned it around
• 40:20
Speaker 3: and said, you know why the American people don't care
• 40:22
Speaker 3: about this American the American people people care about this.
• 40:27
  Speaker 7: Yeah.
• 40:27
Speaker 3: Well it was the pardoning of of of the of
• 40:31
Speaker 3: the of the foreign leader that was that was in
• 40:33
Speaker 3: West Virginia. He was in prison of West Virginia.
• 40:35
  Speaker 8: Uh.
• 40:36
Speaker 3: And he was a convicted drug dealer, sold you know,
• 40:38
Speaker 3: I mean a whole lot of cocaine in his time,
• 40:40
Speaker 3: and Trump pardoned him former president of one of these
• 40:43
Speaker 3: countries and yeah, Honduras, Yeah and uh and they said
• 40:48
Speaker 3: that the uh this this representative said, well, the American
• 40:51
Speaker 3: people don't really don't care about things like that.
• 40:54
Speaker 4: Uh and forty tons of uh of cocaine coming in
• 40:59
Speaker 4: this country. It'll about that, That's.
• 41:00
  Speaker 3: What they say.
• 41:02
  Speaker 4: Hmm exactly.
• 41:04
Speaker 3: That was my response as well. But day violand showing
• 41:07
Speaker 3: five Eddy Lives Brown's You Apart by Live Healthy West
• 41:09
Speaker 3: Virginia presented by wv you Medicine, a podcast promoting healthier
• 41:12
Speaker 3: lifestyles in to Beyond the State. Jack have the latest
• 41:14
Speaker 3: episodes wv metronews dot com of the podcast. Man, You've
• 41:17
Speaker 3: got a text here for you. It says, ask mayor Danny, uh.
• 41:20
Speaker 3: I guess you're always referred to as mayor, aren't you,
• 41:22
Speaker 3: even when you're not. It's kind of like being president.
• 41:24
Speaker 3: You're always going to be referred to it.
• 41:25
  Speaker 4: Right right?
• 41:26
Speaker 3: But it says, if he'll ever have the rod run
• 41:30
Speaker 3: and do wop again in downtown, are you?
• 41:33
Speaker 4: Why are you asking me?
• 41:34
Speaker 3: I don't know. I guess maybe they think would you
• 41:37
Speaker 3: support it? Or I mean, maybe that's what they're asking.
• 41:40
Speaker 4: I always supported it. It was my It was my
• 41:43
Speaker 4: car show, right I started it.
• 41:45
Speaker 3: And and if you want to clear the air again,
• 41:47
Speaker 3: because you made it a point a couple of weeks
• 41:49
Speaker 3: ago you were the mayor.
• 41:51
Speaker 4: Didn't she didn't shut it down. It was shut down
• 41:54
Speaker 4: by the people that were running it. They shut it
• 41:57
Speaker 4: down right at the end, so there wasn't time to replace. Okay,
• 42:01
Speaker 4: it's really sad. Yeah, there was a beautiful car show.
• 42:04
Speaker 3: But the text was on to say, great hearing Danny
• 42:06
Speaker 3: on your program again. Thank you so and we like
• 42:09
Speaker 3: to bring him. Look, you know who you look like
• 42:10
Speaker 3: when you came in here today. You got the flannel
• 42:13
Speaker 3: shirt and it looked like hal Holdbrook. I don't know why.
• 42:19
Speaker 3: For some reason I thought it, maybe because I watched
• 42:21
Speaker 3: an episode of The Sopranos over the weekend. They were
• 42:23
Speaker 3: doing a marathon, and I love the Sopranos, and he
• 42:25
Speaker 3: was he was on an episode of the Sopranos. Maybe
• 42:27
Speaker 3: how Old Brooke was? Yeah, yeah, he was a He
• 42:30
Speaker 3: was just like a one episode type deal. He was
• 42:32
Speaker 3: in a hospital when Tony was recovering h from the
• 42:34
Speaker 3: gunshot wound. He was also in the hospital and he
• 42:37
Speaker 3: was very like played a philosopher and a very succesful
• 42:40
Speaker 3: business type. But that's when I when you walked in,
• 42:42
Speaker 3: the first thing I thought was here comes hell Holdbrook.
• 42:45
Speaker 4: Yeah he was how Old Brookshit, he was a great actor.
• 42:50
  Speaker 4: I can't remember who's married to.
• 42:54
Speaker 3: Was he married to Dixie Carter of Designing Women? Or
• 42:57
Speaker 3: am I just totally making that up. I don't know
• 42:59
Speaker 3: he was on the show. Tex says empty g referring
• 43:03
Speaker 3: to Marjorie Taylor. Green deserves everything she's received. She's reaping
• 43:07
Speaker 3: the toxicity from the toxic politics she's sown.
• 43:11
Speaker 4: Well, she's apologized for that, and I you know, okay,
• 43:19
Speaker 4: that's fair. Yeah, you know, you reap what you sow.
• 43:23
Speaker 4: I just look at it. I guess because I'm seventy
• 43:25
Speaker 4: five years old, I look at these things a little
• 43:28
Speaker 4: different these days. I feel bad for I really do.
• 43:33
Speaker 3: All Right, it's nine to fifty. We got to take
• 43:34
Speaker 3: a break. We'll come back after this. On the Voice

Speaker 12: always remains consistent is the car buying experience at Walker's

• 43:58
Speaker 12: built their business the old fashion way by making friends.
• 44:02
Speaker 12: There are no gimmicks or games at Walker, just honest,
• 44:05
Speaker 12: fair deals, and the process at Walker is remarkably simple.

Speaker 12: They help you find a vehicle that you love and
• 44:11
Speaker 12: a deal that makes you smile. And don't forget, Walker
• 44:14
Speaker 12: is still buying cars too. Now All makes and models
• 44:17
Speaker 12: are welcome and They'll give you a top dollar for it,
• 44:19
Speaker 12: even if you plan to buy somewhere else.
• 44:22
Speaker 3: But why would you?
• 44:22
  Speaker 15: You know?
• 44:23
Speaker 12: It's good to know that in a world full of
• 44:24
Speaker 12: constant change, there are some things that remain consistent and
• 44:28
Speaker 12: that some car dealers still believe in treating you like
• 44:30
Speaker 12: a friend with a smile and a handshakee head to

• 46:14
Speaker 3: Hegseth drug boat war crime is a perfect metaphor for
• 46:17
Speaker 3: current America. You know they're lying details constantly, change or
• 46:21
Speaker 3: come out the boat was going the opposite direction of
• 46:23
Speaker 3: the US, but ultimately nothing will happen.
• 46:27
Speaker 4: Well, the fact the boat was going in the opposite
• 46:31
Speaker 4: direction doesn't mean much to me. But that doesn't mean
• 46:38
Speaker 4: that those guys should have been shot. I don't know,
• 46:43
  Speaker 4: I don't know, but nothing.
• 46:45
Speaker 3: And they talk about the you know, the drugs, and
• 46:48
Speaker 3: I'm all about whatever it takes to keep the drugs
• 46:50
Speaker 3: out of here. But if it's fentanyl they're talking about,
• 46:51
Speaker 3: it's been proving time and time again, that's not where
• 46:53
  Speaker 3: fentanyl's coming.
• 46:54
Speaker 4: From Mexico, from China through Mexico, Texas.
• 46:58
Speaker 3: What trial related Tubax murderers Danny talking about.
• 47:02
Speaker 4: Well, in the in the in the presentation, the guy
• 47:09
Speaker 4: that shot first thing, P Diddy paid a million dollars
• 47:20
Speaker 4: for the hit, but he wanted sug Knight killed also,
• 47:26
Speaker 4: So there were two guys involved, and on a profer,
• 47:32
Speaker 4: one guy confessed and he's the one going on trial. Okay,
• 47:38
Speaker 4: And because they didn't kill sug Knight, you only got
• 47:42
Speaker 4: a half a million dollars. So the guy that confessed,
• 47:45
Speaker 4: he didn't get any money. So I'm just I'm telling
• 47:50
Speaker 4: you to watch that if you want to watch, if
• 47:53
Speaker 4: you're look, I'm an old man. I like to watch
• 47:56
  Speaker 4: stuff like that. I mean, I'm not I don't know
• 47:59
Speaker 4: anything about rap or hip hop or and that stuff,
• 48:03
Speaker 4: but except for the politics of it. And who doesn't
• 48:08
  Speaker 4: like Snoop Dogg.
• 48:10
Speaker 3: I mean, I love you talk about somebody who has
• 48:13
Speaker 3: who came out of nowhere and has made a career
• 48:16
Speaker 3: out of just being Snoop Dogg. Forget about the music.
• 48:18
  Speaker 3: I mean, the guy's a star. I mean he's in
• 48:20
Speaker 3: everything you know, and he has been and he has
• 48:23
Speaker 3: been for over thirty years.
• 48:24
Speaker 4: He's so smart, he's uh and you know, I'm friends
• 48:28
Speaker 4: with people out in Long Beach. I'll see him this weekend.
• 48:32
Speaker 4: I'm going out there this weekend. I'll see him. They
• 48:34
Speaker 4: went to high school with it, you know, because he's
• 48:38
  Speaker 4: where he's from.
• 48:39
Speaker 3: Yeah, tex says this is going to be along with
• 48:41
Speaker 3: Danny so strap In. Why does Trump do it? It's
• 48:47
Speaker 3: basically it's because basically amongst their own circles when we
• 48:51
Speaker 3: hear a lot of anti American bes stuff from lefties
• 48:53
Speaker 3: and Congress and the media, especially the self destruction infiltration
• 48:57
Speaker 3: that happened to the Biden administration letting twelve mill illegals
• 49:00
Speaker 3: in here, we say the same stuff. The only thing
• 49:03
Speaker 3: is he says it publicly about his name calling really Hitler, nazi, pedophile,
• 49:08
Speaker 3: white supremacist, racist, homophobe, transphobes, enophobe, et cetera. All this
• 49:12
Speaker 3: stuff that he's been called for ten years by most
• 49:15
Speaker 3: everybody who loved him before he came down that escalator
• 49:18
Speaker 3: in twenty fifteen, not to mention trying to put him
• 49:20
Speaker 3: in prison and being shot.
• 49:21
Speaker 4: That's why that doesn't justify it. He's the president. You
• 49:26
Speaker 4: think Nixon wasn't called names or any of these presidents.
• 49:31
Speaker 3: We know Obama was, Clinton, and Reagan and Bush.
• 49:34
Speaker 4: And yeah, sure they were. That doesn't justify it just
• 49:39
Speaker 4: because he was called names. You don't. I made that mistake,
• 49:45
Speaker 4: you know, taking the baits. He doesn't have to take
• 49:48
Speaker 4: the bait now. It's I mean, it's a difference in style, right,
• 49:52
Speaker 4: My style is Mitt Romney, that's my style, or Richard
• 49:56
Speaker 4: Nixon not, That's just not my style.
• 50:01
Speaker 3: Tex says Danny. Have you heard any specifics about the
• 50:03
Speaker 3: large latest legal wrangling over the Hilton brand hotel at
• 50:07
Speaker 3: the former Sears site. Matt Sutton said the whole group
• 50:10
Speaker 3: is once again interfering and that hotel developer even completed
• 50:14
Speaker 3: Has they ever completed a project in Charleston?
• 50:17
Speaker 4: Oh what the Patels. Wonder who he's talking about?
• 50:24
Speaker 3: Not TJ. Would you happen to know who the who
• 50:26
Speaker 3: what we're talking about here? Not off the top of
• 50:28
  Speaker 3: my head.
• 50:28
Speaker 4: Sorry, all right, Well, but he he lost that case,
• 50:33
Speaker 4: you know, when they went to tear the building down.
• 50:35
Speaker 4: He lost the case. The mall did. But you're talking
• 50:42
Speaker 4: about the Hilton Gardens.
• 50:43
Speaker 3: Yeah, and I mean it's it's gonna happen.
• 50:45
Speaker 4: I believe that's the Patel group.
• 50:47
Speaker 3: Okay, all right, So you and I have talked a
• 50:50
Speaker 3: little bit about the town Center in the past, and
• 50:51
Speaker 3: people keep circulating. There was a picture circul thing you
• 50:54
Speaker 3: probably saw it on social media of the Santa Claus
• 50:56
Speaker 3: sitting down there with nobody around.
• 50:58
Speaker 4: It is sad, very sad, and it didn't need to happen.
• 51:04
Speaker 4: But if you were intentionally trying to destroy enterprise, you
• 51:11
Speaker 4: do exactly what they're doing Texas.
• 51:15
Speaker 3: What about going back to the drug boats again, what
• 51:16
Speaker 3: about the fact that the boats that have been blown up,
• 51:19
Speaker 3: boats of that size, they can't get to America unless
• 51:21
Speaker 3: they're carrying three thousand pounds of fuel. Which seems unlikely
• 51:25
Speaker 3: if they're also carrying fentanyl.
• 51:27
Speaker 4: Yeah, but that doesn't mean or cocaine. If you don't mind,
• 51:31
Speaker 4: it's not fentanyl. But it doesn't mean they couldn't stop
• 51:35
Speaker 4: somewhere and get gas one of the islands, you know.
• 51:40
Speaker 4: But I mean, I'm lost. Nothing's gonna happen. It's just talk.
• 51:49
Speaker 4: It's just something to absorb the space.
• 51:51
Speaker 3: Does hag Seth keep his job?
• 51:54
Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, he shouldn't.
• 51:56
Speaker 3: Does he complete the term? I'll say that No, I
• 51:59
  Speaker 3: don't know. I don't think he will either. And that's
• 52:01
Speaker 3: not uncommon, by the way, for secretaries of war or
• 52:04
Speaker 3: defense or whatever you want to call him. You know
• 52:06
Speaker 3: that that's not uncommon any.
• 52:07
Speaker 4: Well, now he's going to have anywhere to go. Remember
• 52:10
Speaker 4: he was a he was a he was a weekend
• 52:16
Speaker 4: gown fox. Where's he gonna go.
• 52:20
Speaker 3: He's gonna go to the Marjorie Taylor Green Route. He
• 52:22
Speaker 3: can go back to that. I guess Danny will not
• 52:24
Speaker 3: be with us next week. We'd be traveling. We'll see
• 52:25
Speaker 3: you in two weeks, my friend. Thank you, thanks a lot.
• 52:27
Speaker 3: I TJ. What you got today?
• 52:29
Speaker 15: Matt Christiansen CDC has changed b VAX Guidance Hill outline.
• 52:33
Speaker 15: We'll discuss cafe standards on automobiles. Chris Miller gets into
• 52:38
Speaker 15: it with us on that, and then uh, we're also
• 52:40
Speaker 15: going to talk a little bit about what's coming up
• 52:42
  Speaker 15: at the legislature.
• 52:43
Speaker 3: David all right, I will see you later today on
• 52:45
Speaker 3: Metro News Midday. Be careful out there till then, have
• 52:47
Speaker 3: fun and love somebody, will you.
