- 0:10Speaker 1: Welcome to Girls Gone Hallmark, a Hallmark review podcast. I'm
- 0:13Speaker 1: Megan and I'm a longtime Hallmark fan. I'm Windy. I'm
- 0:15Speaker 1: a former Homemark caterers. On today's episode, we are discussing
- 0:18Speaker 1: The Way Home Season four, episode five, Don't Cry Out Loud,
- 0:22Speaker 1: which originally aired on Sunday, May sixteenth on the Hallmark
- 0:26Speaker 1: Channel and is currently available to stream on Hallmark Plus.
- 0:30Speaker 1: Can I tell you something before we jump into the
- 0:32Speaker 1: Way Home? Yeah, I want to make a mention about
- 0:34Speaker 1: Hallmark Plus. Yeah, you know how they have that what
- 0:37Speaker 1: is it called where it's just like streaming movies all
- 0:40Speaker 1: day there unquote live yeap feed. So I remember when
- 0:44Speaker 1: it originally was like in a beta form, and it
- 0:47Speaker 1: could still be in beta right now. I don't remember
- 0:49Speaker 1: if it is or not. And people were complaining that
- 0:52Speaker 1: they didn't know what movie was airing. Oh when you
- 0:55Speaker 1: open it, yeah, because it just starts playing there's nothing
- 0:58Speaker 1: on the screen. Well, now in the top hand a
- 1:00Speaker 1: corner they say like what movie is on? Which I
- 1:02Speaker 1: kind of love. So if you click on it, it
- 1:05Speaker 1: says what movie it is, like as it's playing. Right,
- 1:07Speaker 1: We've been doing some work at our house and the
- 1:09Speaker 1: dogs have been up in my bedroom, so I turn
- 1:11Speaker 1: on Hallmark Plus for them in the dates, and every
- 1:14Speaker 1: time I come into this room, I go, I'll see it. It
- 1:17Speaker 1: will be like The Beach House and I'm like, oh,
- 1:19Speaker 1: this is a good movie. Or one summer I'm like, oh,
- 1:22Speaker 1: this is a really good movie. Every time I walk in,
- 1:25Speaker 1: there's a good movie. Plane, the one with Carrie Russell,
- 1:28Speaker 1: that the Hallmark Holifation, The Magic of Ordinary Days. Yes,
- 1:32Speaker 1: I was like, good movie. So my dogs have been
- 1:34Speaker 1: getting some really good movies during the day. Oh, they're
- 1:37Speaker 1: getting their Hallmark education over there. I love it. Yes,
- 1:41Speaker 1: that's so fun. It's a great throw on channel just
- 1:44Speaker 1: to have Plane. I love it. Anyway, that's all. That's
- 1:47Speaker 1: my plug for Hallmark Plus. And no they don't pay us, Nope,
- 1:51Speaker 1: but I wish they would. Hey, if you are listening
- 1:54Speaker 1: to these episodes, but you're not really listening to our
- 1:56Speaker 1: other episodes, give them a dry because you know the
- 1:58Speaker 1: way whom are by far? When are most downloaded? I
- 2:02Speaker 1: saw the podcast stats kind of bananas. Some of y'all
- 2:07Speaker 1: are sleeping on some of the Hallmark movies. Give give
- 2:10Speaker 1: an episode a listen. Outside of the Way Home and
- 2:12Speaker 1: see what you think, and if you're here for The
- 2:14Speaker 1: Way Home, please drop your five star ratings and reviews
- 2:17Speaker 1: into the Apple podcast app to let other people know
- 2:20Speaker 1: what we got going on over here. Yeah, we want people.
- 2:23Speaker 1: If we are your favorite The Way Home Recap podcasts,
- 2:28Speaker 1: tell a friend to tell a friend. Please let somebody know. Hey,
- 2:32Speaker 1: let's hear a synopsis Episode five, When Nick joins Kat
- 2:37Speaker 1: on her search for more information about Elliott's mother in
- 2:40Speaker 1: the nineteen twenties, the two realize they may be in
- 2:44Speaker 1: over their heads. Hey, Wendy, what is your first impression
- 2:48Speaker 1: of this episode? Me last week? Why is Nick in
- 2:53Speaker 1: the pond? Me? This week? Okay, but Spats is doing
- 2:57Speaker 1: something for me in nineteen twenty five? My first impression is,
- 3:02Speaker 1: don't play with my heart like that again, Hallmark? Why what? Oh? Yes,
- 3:07Speaker 1: Megan texted me. She's like, I literally screamed, oh no,
- 3:10Speaker 1: and I was like, I hadn't seen the episode yet,
- 3:13Speaker 1: so I'm watching it. I was like, you need to
- 3:15Speaker 1: tell me like a timescamp so I know, otherwise I'm
- 3:18Speaker 1: like waiting on the edge of my seat the entire
- 3:20Speaker 1: time I'm watching this episode. Not only did I scream
- 3:23Speaker 1: oh no, I'm watching this episode. It's like the last
- 3:26Speaker 1: ten minutes I was like, oh no, out loud, and
- 3:28Speaker 1: then a few minutes later I was like no, no, no, no,
- 3:31Speaker 1: and my husband's like, what are you doing. I'm like,
- 3:33Speaker 1: it's very intense. It was very intense. We're going to
- 3:36Speaker 1: talk about this episode of The Way Home, and I
- 3:39Speaker 1: think we should start in the present day, in the
- 3:42Speaker 1: aftermath of you're just loving that cuticle oil. That's your
- 3:46Speaker 1: second application of the morning. What does it smell like?
- 3:47Speaker 1: Suppose a smell like a lemon, but it really doesn't,
- 3:49Speaker 1: which is a bummer. All Right, you know where I
- 3:51Speaker 1: got a cuticle oil? Dollar Tree? Yeah, you all should
- 3:55Speaker 1: follow us on TikTok. We're at Megan and Wendy. Yeah,
- 3:57Speaker 1: you want to see some Dollar Tree hauls, and it
- 4:00Speaker 1: is like obsessed, obsessed with the Dollar Tree. I sit around,
- 4:04Speaker 1: I'm like, can I make a trip today? Oh wow?
- 4:07Speaker 1: It's really hitting that dopamine for you, isn't it. Yeah,
- 4:10Speaker 1: it's a problem. But we're going to talk the aftermath
- 4:13Speaker 1: of Dell's accident, yes, and what's going on with Sam
- 4:17Speaker 1: and Julian. This present day storyline kind of surprised me
- 4:22Speaker 1: a little bit, and I had you know, I watched
- 4:24Speaker 1: the episode twice because I watch it for enjoyment and
- 4:26Speaker 1: then I watch it to take notes me too, And
- 4:29Speaker 1: both times I was under the impression that Colton's telling
- 4:34Speaker 1: her come with me, come with me, like she's dying, right,
- 4:38Speaker 1: And then I mean, take you to the light. Yeah,
- 4:41Speaker 1: that's what I thought he was saying. But then I
- 4:42Speaker 1: realized it was Dell who was kind of like, I
- 4:46Speaker 1: want to go with you, Colton, and Jacob was like
- 4:49Speaker 1: begging her to stay, and then he was like, no,
- 4:51Speaker 1: you need to Jacob's home. You need to stay with Jacob.
- 4:54Speaker 1: So I thought all this was done really well, even
- 5:00Speaker 1: though my interpretation of it was incorrect, But after sitting
- 5:06Speaker 1: with it, I thought it was done really well. Just
- 5:08Speaker 1: like in the episode when we had Thomas and Jacob
- 5:10Speaker 1: and that whole conversation happening in a memory or conscious
- 5:17Speaker 1: or whatever. Right, I thought this was really well done.
- 5:20Speaker 1: Dell's I'm not going to say like dreaming, but she
- 5:23Speaker 1: is kind of dreaming with a having these visions. I
- 5:28Speaker 1: think dreams are the right way to describe them. And
- 5:31Speaker 1: I think your idea of where they were going with
- 5:35Speaker 1: the intentions Colton had there, I think it might be
- 5:39Speaker 1: a little bit intentional. Because he comes to her in
- 5:43Speaker 1: the woods after she's had this fall, it seems like, okay,
- 5:49Speaker 1: maybe she's on the line here between yeah and death. Yeah. Yeah.
- 5:54Speaker 1: Then she says you're not real and he says, this
- 5:57Speaker 1: feels pretty real to me. Yeah. I mean it feels
- 5:59Speaker 1: like they're very much in that moment, as opposed to
- 6:03Speaker 1: him being the one to say this isn't real. It
- 6:06Speaker 1: only feels like at the end where he starts to
- 6:08Speaker 1: push her back to reality. Crazy. No, I don't think
- 6:12Speaker 1: you're crazy at all. I think I was feeling the
- 6:14Speaker 1: same way, and I was thinking, certainly we can't be
- 6:17Speaker 1: done with Dell, certainly at the end. That would be
- 6:21Speaker 1: a real pivot, wouldn't it. Right at the end when
- 6:24Speaker 1: we have Alice begging and then Jacob comes in, I thought,
- 6:27Speaker 1: oh my gosh, I was reacting out loud to that scene,
- 6:31Speaker 1: and so they really got me with that. I just
- 6:33Speaker 1: I think Colton's appearance is very layered, and I don't
- 6:36Speaker 1: think it's one note and you're supposed to be like,
- 6:39Speaker 1: oh no, he's pushing her back into the present. I
- 6:41Speaker 1: also think we had wondered at the beginning of the
- 6:44Speaker 1: season are we going to get Jefferson Brown? And it's
- 6:47Speaker 1: very interesting the ways that they've managed to incorporate his
- 6:50Speaker 1: the actor back into this season. And I'm happy for it,
- 6:54Speaker 1: even though we're not visiting a time period where he
- 6:57Speaker 1: is alive. You know, I can't help but talk about
- 7:00Speaker 1: the horse. Yes, So what I found very interesting about
- 7:05Speaker 1: this segment is they say the horse's name over and over,
- 7:09Speaker 1: Stormy over. Alice says it, Dell says it, Alice says
- 7:13Speaker 1: it more than once. They talk about Stormy. I couldn't
- 7:15Speaker 1: she says, I couldn't get Stormy in the stables. Alice said,
- 7:18Speaker 1: Dell fell off Stormy. And it felt to me that
- 7:22Speaker 1: they were overdoing it because and I know why they
- 7:25Speaker 1: did it, to make it obvious when Dell calls the
- 7:27Speaker 1: horse by the wrong name, because she says, I need
- 7:29Speaker 1: to go get Lightning, and I thought, well, that's weird,
- 7:32Speaker 1: Well weird enough. I texted you and I was like,
- 7:34Speaker 1: there's two horses, Stormy and Lightning. And then of course
- 7:38Speaker 1: that's the key to Sam. As soon as Julian says
- 7:41Speaker 1: Delle says she went to get Lightning, he goes, what
- 7:44Speaker 1: do you mean, like Sam? And this is one of
- 7:46Speaker 1: those things for me where I'm like, Sam's the guy
- 7:48Speaker 1: Sam knows Dell. Sam has all the information, he knows
- 7:52Speaker 1: something's wrong. Julian's just the buffoon with his wine, who's
- 7:55Speaker 1: like all buffoon's harsh. Okay, I have some thoughts about Julian.
- 8:00Speaker 1: I have a question first though, Okay, when I'm texting
- 8:03Speaker 1: you in real time, are you just like, just wait, Wendy,
- 8:05Speaker 1: just wait. No, I answer id at all. But I
- 8:09Speaker 1: like having answers, and so I don't want to be like,
- 8:12Speaker 1: I don't want to give you too much because you
- 8:13Speaker 1: got to experience. You don't want me tell you what's happening. No,
- 8:15Speaker 1: it doesn't bother me at all. Okay, I want to
- 8:17Speaker 1: talk about Julian. Okay, let's talk about Julian. Do you
- 8:20Speaker 1: think Julian's coming on a little hot for a guy
- 8:22Speaker 1: she's known for two days? Maybe? Maybe? I mean, he
- 8:26Speaker 1: made his intentions clear for sure, But also Julian should
- 8:30Speaker 1: have realized Sam is the boyfriend. But then you know,
- 8:34Speaker 1: they had that whole interaction at the table when Dale's like,
- 8:36Speaker 1: we're not toget whatever. She didn't say we're not together,
- 8:39Speaker 1: but she gave the impression that they weren't. She and
- 8:42Speaker 1: Sam were not together, and so Julian thought that was
- 8:45Speaker 1: like a green light to move in. Now. Do I
- 8:49Speaker 1: think it was weird that he was like, I want
- 8:50Speaker 1: you to come on my acting tour with me or
- 8:53Speaker 1: whatever to England. I didn't. I assume he says, I'm
- 8:57Speaker 1: going to Stratford, which I assumed because he's quoting Shakespeare
- 9:01Speaker 1: is the home of Shakespeare in England, which I thought,
- 9:05Speaker 1: y'all have known each other for days. I mean, crime
- 9:08Speaker 1: is limited. So I agree that she does kind of
- 9:12Speaker 1: say Sam's not my guy right now. But prior to that,
- 9:16Speaker 1: Julian had shown up with flowers, he had shown up
- 9:19Speaker 1: with wine before she gives him all of that information
- 9:21Speaker 1: and he knows she's with say, I mean, the man's
- 9:23Speaker 1: got confidence. I guess we can give him that. I
- 9:25Speaker 1: thought it was a lot. And I wonder if I
- 9:27Speaker 1: wonder what's going on here. I wonder what the endgame
- 9:29Speaker 1: is for Sam and Dell. I wonder, I wonder if
- 9:33Speaker 1: we're going to have some more understanding about Julian going forward,
- 9:39Speaker 1: or if this is all we're going to hear from him.
- 9:41Speaker 1: I just thought, man, this guy's really going for it.
- 9:43Speaker 1: Come with me now we hardly know each other. I
- 9:46Speaker 1: don't know. Maybe Julian's presence is there, like I said
- 9:50Speaker 1: last week, for story a storytelling tool for a Dell
- 9:55Speaker 1: right and Sam. M mmmmmm. It does kind of seem
- 10:00Speaker 1: a little out of left field a little bit. I
- 10:04Speaker 1: don't think anything is unintentional in this show, but I
- 10:07Speaker 1: think his presence really serves Dell the purpose of questioning
- 10:14Speaker 1: her relationship with Sam. And then we hear that whole
- 10:17Speaker 1: conversation between Dell and Colton. She says to Colton, they
- 10:22Speaker 1: want me to leave. They both want me to come
- 10:25Speaker 1: to them. Yeah, fit into their lives. And they have
- 10:28Speaker 1: this you know, back and forth about how Colton left
- 10:33Speaker 1: his life to fit into Dell's life, you know, because
- 10:35Speaker 1: he was going to go on tour, he was going
- 10:37Speaker 1: to go try and make it in the music business.
- 10:39Speaker 1: I stayed and Colton says, like, you know, it was
- 10:41Speaker 1: a marriage in the middle, it was a you know,
- 10:43Speaker 1: they built a life together. Yeah. And maybe that's just
- 10:48Speaker 1: to hammer home the point that with Sam and or Julian,
- 10:52Speaker 1: like they're not building a life together. I don't know,
- 10:56Speaker 1: I don't right, don't know the purpose. Do they want
- 10:59Speaker 1: Dell to just into their lives as opposed to becoming
- 11:02Speaker 1: more a part of hers. That's a good question to me.
- 11:05Speaker 1: It just felt the distraction of this feels At the
- 11:10Speaker 1: beginning of the season, I thought Delle's finally getting closure,
- 11:13Speaker 1: Delle's finally able to move on. She lost her son,
- 11:15Speaker 1: she lost her husband, She's finally reconciling with her daughter.
- 11:19Speaker 1: I kind of felt like she's finally able to live
- 11:21Speaker 1: in the present, and this felt like one more return
- 11:24Speaker 1: to the past. You know, she sees who she thinks
- 11:28Speaker 1: is Coulton walking into the woods. She has these dreams
- 11:31Speaker 1: of Colton. She's still drawn back to that time where
- 11:35Speaker 1: she had her whole family together, which is understandable. He's
- 11:40Speaker 1: obviously the great love of her life, right, And then
- 11:43Speaker 1: when Julian leaves, he once again quotes the tempest and
- 11:46Speaker 1: when I waked, I tried to dream again. You know,
- 11:49Speaker 1: it's kind of on the nose, considering she was having
- 11:51Speaker 1: these dreams of her ideal life. But she comes back
- 11:55Speaker 1: to a present with Jacob. There were some emotional gut
- 11:59Speaker 1: punches in the storyline for me. Yeah, go ahead. Alice
- 12:03Speaker 1: returning to the present saying I was in nineteen seventy
- 12:05Speaker 1: nine and Dallasa's you know that Jacob's not the only
- 12:09Speaker 1: baby I lost, and Alice is like, I'm so sorry, Grandma.
- 12:13Speaker 1: I thought that was very sweet. And then when she
- 12:15Speaker 1: calls Jacob oh and begs him to come home. You know,
- 12:21Speaker 1: the maternal part of me really hurt for Alice in
- 12:24Speaker 1: that moment, seeing her. You know, she's struggling and there's
- 12:28Speaker 1: nobody there. I know, Elliot's gone and Cat's gone, and
- 12:32Speaker 1: Cat's always gone. Has Kat really been there for Alice?
- 12:38Speaker 1: I mean they've kind of been on this parallel time traveling. Yeah.
- 12:41Speaker 1: They aren't spending a lot of time together. Yeah, their
- 12:44Speaker 1: story is not together in this season, and I just
- 12:46Speaker 1: felt for her. And then that's a good scene. And
- 12:48Speaker 1: then of course when Jacob comes home and he's like,
- 12:50Speaker 1: I'm here, mom, you have to come back. Yeah, I
- 12:52Speaker 1: thought that was really good. First of all, I do
- 12:55Speaker 1: not understand how they're using that child actor Jacob, who
- 13:00Speaker 1: looks exactly the same from season one three. How is
- 13:03Speaker 1: that happening? I don't know, because he would have aged
- 13:07Speaker 1: a whole lot. Yeah, I agree in the three years
- 13:11Speaker 1: we've been making this show. But I thought it was
- 13:13Speaker 1: really cool how they put like Spencer McPherson's voice on him. Yeah,
- 13:17Speaker 1: that was cool. So we have Remy Smith as little
- 13:20Speaker 1: Jacob Landry in twenty episodes. The last episode that Remy
- 13:25Speaker 1: Smith is credited with is season three, episode ten. Now,
- 13:29Speaker 1: it could be that this is not updated, but I
- 13:33Speaker 1: wondered the same thing he looked, how does he still
- 13:36Speaker 1: look the exact so young? Yeah? I just tried to
- 13:39Speaker 1: look to see if there was an Instagram account, but
- 13:41Speaker 1: I don't see one for him unless I'm spelling. Is
- 13:44Speaker 1: it r E M y? Maybe just by keeping that
- 13:47Speaker 1: long hair they made him. I don't know, but I
- 13:51Speaker 1: think that's a great question. Yeah, I have a question
- 13:54Speaker 1: for you. I want to know if you had picked
- 13:56Speaker 1: up on it at all in last episode end this
- 13:59Speaker 1: episode from Nick and Julian, there has been like a
- 14:04Speaker 1: reoccurring mention of like ease versus complexity. Oh so I
- 14:11Speaker 1: noticed it in the last episode, and then I noticed
- 14:15Speaker 1: it again in this episode. There's a time when like
- 14:20Speaker 1: Kat and Nick are talking and he's like, well, this
- 14:23Speaker 1: seems pretty easy to me. Unfortunately I can't remember specific scenes,
- 14:28Speaker 1: but it keeps coming up about things being easy, things
- 14:31Speaker 1: don't need to be so complex, huh, And it's always
- 14:34Speaker 1: like with Nick and Julian and then a version of
- 14:36Speaker 1: like Dell and Kat and Alice. That's so interesting happening.
- 14:40Speaker 1: I'm just curious if anybody else has picked up on that.
- 14:42Speaker 1: I had not one final thing that I thought was
- 14:45Speaker 1: really cool in that scene where Jacob is begging Dell
- 14:50Speaker 1: the music swell, Yeah, it was like cinematic. It was.
- 14:54Speaker 1: I was like, hen, here it is. This could be
- 14:57Speaker 1: a real movie like it was. I thought it was
- 14:59Speaker 1: Christmas probably my favorite episode of the season so far.
- 15:04Speaker 1: I agree, And there's some more stuff I liked too,
- 15:06Speaker 1: I definitely agree. Are we moving on to Kat and
- 15:17Speaker 1: Nick in nineteen twenty five? Let's do it. I cannot
- 15:19Speaker 1: believe I am admitting this after moaning about Nick, But
- 15:24Speaker 1: I thought Nick and Kat were very fun together in
- 15:26Speaker 1: nineteen twenty five. Nick's such a good time in this episode,
- 15:29Speaker 1: so fun. I laughed out loud several times. And he
- 15:33Speaker 1: wasn't like being a buffoon like there was. He served
- 15:37Speaker 1: a purpose there, absolutely. But what I really liked, and
- 15:41Speaker 1: our email from the mailbag last week mentioned this too
- 15:46Speaker 1: is Kat needed a second person absolutely, otherwise she's just
- 15:50Speaker 1: moving alone in all these spaces. I mean same goes
- 15:53Speaker 1: for Alice too, but they don't have anybody to like
- 15:56Speaker 1: work off of. No, and Nick had some relevant information,
- 16:01Speaker 1: so not only did she have someone to bounce ideas
- 16:04Speaker 1: off of, but he knew things about this time period.
- 16:07Speaker 1: And I think perhaps the most important thing Nick does
- 16:11Speaker 1: for her is say, please acknowledge how cool this is.
- 16:16Speaker 1: You don't like it, not about the coolness factor of it.
- 16:19Speaker 1: I do think he softens her intensity a little bit
- 16:22Speaker 1: because she's so spun up on like it all out,
- 16:27Speaker 1: you know. Yeah. I can relate to Kat in the
- 16:30Speaker 1: sense that sometimes I get more caught in the process,
- 16:33Speaker 1: Like I don't spend a lot of my time. I'm
- 16:36Speaker 1: not like, let me stop and smell the roses, let
- 16:38Speaker 1: me sit outside and enjoy this peaceful that'sh just I'm like,
- 16:41Speaker 1: what can I do next? What can I do next?
- 16:43Speaker 1: What am I doing? Now? I'm always doing? And I
- 16:45Speaker 1: think Kat is always doing. Yeah, and Nick had this
- 16:49Speaker 1: perspective of, hey, I know you're so driven by the
- 16:54Speaker 1: next thing and solving this next thing, but experience the
- 16:57Speaker 1: moment that you're living in a little bit. Yeah. Yeah.
- 17:00Speaker 1: But at the same time, I feel like, Okay, but Kat,
- 17:03Speaker 1: there are real stakes here, so she does have to
- 17:06Speaker 1: take it seriously. I enjoyed Nick's lighter side. Yeah, I
- 17:11Speaker 1: really enjoyed their banter. I thought it was fun. And
- 17:15Speaker 1: what's funny is that, like we haven't seen Kat and
- 17:17Speaker 1: Nick like that together, so it felt sort of refreshing.
- 17:23Speaker 1: M m. And I think it does. We kind of
- 17:25Speaker 1: said last week, Oh, I don't don't I think I said,
- 17:28Speaker 1: I don't like who they've turned adult Nick into. There
- 17:30Speaker 1: was some perspective in the Listener mailbag. Yeah, he is
- 17:33Speaker 1: going to think it's cool to time travel, and I
- 17:36Speaker 1: think that's reality when he learns my friend time travels
- 17:41Speaker 1: and now I get to do it too. I think
- 17:43Speaker 1: there's some child of the eighties and nineties who's going
- 17:46Speaker 1: to be like, this is amazing. Yeah, I agree. I
- 17:49Speaker 1: just thought it was kind of funny, like when they
- 17:51Speaker 1: come up and and she's like that was brutal, and
- 17:55Speaker 1: he was like that was awesome? Is it always like that? Yeah?
- 17:58Speaker 1: I enjoyed him there. Now. I I did love like
- 18:02Speaker 1: when they're at the is it called the coffee spoon, oh,
- 18:06Speaker 1: the speakeasy? Yeah, I just called the speakeasy. It might
- 18:09Speaker 1: be called the coffee has a name because I remember
- 18:11Speaker 1: in the Inspector Kane being like, I know it wasn't coffee,
- 18:14Speaker 1: and they're all drinking out of coffee mugs. I think
- 18:16Speaker 1: it's called the coffee spoon anyway, when she's like, do
- 18:19Speaker 1: not take drinks from them, and like she turns around
- 18:22Speaker 1: and he's there with the guys already. And then when
- 18:25Speaker 1: they come back and they're singing their songs and all
- 18:28Speaker 1: that stuff. I just though that was so funny. Yeah,
- 18:31Speaker 1: but the big like ah at the end, oh my gosh,
- 18:35Speaker 1: when they get busted by the Augie Boys and they're
- 18:39Speaker 1: they're eavesdropping into what they're you know, where they're making
- 18:43Speaker 1: their booze at and they did you notice they dropped
- 18:46Speaker 1: al Capone's name, not cat Nick, but the Augie Boys did.
- 18:49Speaker 1: I didn't hear it this time. So they were like, oh,
- 18:52Speaker 1: this is we have to make the booze correctly or
- 18:55Speaker 1: whatever for Capone and the boys, the Chicago Boys or whatever.
- 18:59Speaker 1: And because remember, like in an earlier episode this season,
- 19:02Speaker 1: they were saying like talking about like the rum running
- 19:05Speaker 1: and all that stuff, and there was mob ties and whatever.
- 19:07Speaker 1: So anyhow, so I heard Alcopone's name dropped in this episode.
- 19:12Speaker 1: So then they get busted. They're sitting behind the logs.
- 19:14Speaker 1: I mean, like, it's typical cat Alice Anytime travelers. They're there,
- 19:19Speaker 1: they get there and she basically runs into the middle
- 19:22Speaker 1: of their camp. Totally. I was like, what are we doing?
- 19:25Speaker 1: You deserve to get caught. But they're running back. They
- 19:28Speaker 1: take off, they're running back. They run into fern at
- 19:31Speaker 1: the Landry farm and she's like, what are you doing
- 19:34Speaker 1: here at the land You don't she doesn't live there, right,
- 19:37Speaker 1: She's seeing Cliff, I know. She said, I'm returning my almanac.
- 19:42Speaker 1: You're being careless. Yes, And then the Augie boys show
- 19:46Speaker 1: up and they're not on foot there and they're in
- 19:48Speaker 1: their truck or whatever. I'm like, how Nick and Cat
- 19:52Speaker 1: are out running right, guys? Is wild to me? But whatever.
- 19:56Speaker 1: It was very tense the way that they did this scene.
- 20:01Speaker 1: This is my oh no scene cats jamming. First of all,
- 20:05Speaker 1: I'm like, how is Nick trailing her? Yes, you know
- 20:08Speaker 1: she's running in like a you know, like a little
- 20:11Speaker 1: heel and a dress, and address jumps in. Well. First,
- 20:16Speaker 1: I was like, why does she jump? Like you can't
- 20:18Speaker 1: jump without him? Yeah, I need to beholding hands. Yeah,
- 20:22Speaker 1: unless it's just panic and so when she jumped. That's
- 20:24Speaker 1: when I was like, oh no, Nick's gonna be left behind. Yeah.
- 20:27Speaker 1: And then they skirmish on the banks and the fern
- 20:31Speaker 1: tries to yank Cat under Yeah. Cat and Nick finally
- 20:36Speaker 1: connect and they disappear. There has been some more question
- 20:40Speaker 1: are the ferns related to for in the person ohling
- 20:44Speaker 1: the pond? Oh? But I thought that was well done,
- 20:49Speaker 1: highly suspenseful, and highly suspenseful. I was like, Nick gonna
- 20:53Speaker 1: get left behind. Here are some other things I think
- 20:56Speaker 1: that are worth noticing in this time travel period. Nick
- 21:00Speaker 1: uses the name Spats that's borrowed from the movie Some
- 21:03Speaker 1: like it Hot. The character's name is Spats Columbo. He's
- 21:05Speaker 1: a mob boss who runs a speakeasy hm Perfect at
- 21:10Speaker 1: the Harald. Kat discovers an Alice in Wonderland book inscribed
- 21:15Speaker 1: Toofern from Anti Coop and Kat goes Tessa Cooper and
- 21:21Speaker 1: then can't stop you there. Yeah. I was annoyed in
- 21:24Speaker 1: this in this scene, of course, like Anti Coop to
- 21:28Speaker 1: Tessa Cooper. It's not a far stretch here, uh huh.
- 21:31Speaker 1: But just last episode we had Kat remembering writing matching
- 21:38Speaker 1: between things. Why wouldn't she had noticed that that writing
- 21:41Speaker 1: is the same. It was it the same? I don't know.
- 21:44Speaker 1: I don't know, but like if she could be like, oh,
- 21:46Speaker 1: look at this entry in the almanac is the same
- 21:49Speaker 1: as Elliott's letter. Why wouldn't she go that's the same,
- 21:53Speaker 1: that's the same handwriting. Not Tessa Cooper anyway, that's my beef. Okay,
- 21:58Speaker 1: go ahead, Cat and have an interaction. Grayson does not
- 22:03Speaker 1: trust Kat. He was kind of scary in the nicest way, right,
- 22:07Speaker 1: he was scary in the nicest way. Yeah, like that.
- 22:10Speaker 1: His tone was not menacing, but his words he kept
- 22:15Speaker 1: saying like, oh, Fern's telling you all her secrets, and
- 22:18Speaker 1: she thinks she's connected to Cliff Kine and all of
- 22:21Speaker 1: these things. And then he gets a phone call and
- 22:24Speaker 1: Kat leaves, and we hear him yelling, that's not part
- 22:26Speaker 1: of the deal. I want you to get rid of
- 22:27Speaker 1: her right now. I've already dealt with Fern. Who are
- 22:30Speaker 1: they talking about? Don't know. Yeah. My takeaway from their
- 22:35Speaker 1: conversation is the following. His sister Cassandra gets brought up,
- 22:40Speaker 1: and he's kind of taken aback that Kat knows this
- 22:44Speaker 1: information about Cassandra. Then they talk about how long he's
- 22:47Speaker 1: been in love with Fern. He goes, yeah, ever since
- 22:49Speaker 1: my sister brought her to lingermore so, how long has
- 22:53Speaker 1: that been? How long has Cassander been dead? Well? And
- 22:56Speaker 1: I believe this story as his sister died young, I thought.
- 23:00Speaker 1: But we also learned that Fern had a brother who
- 23:03Speaker 1: died in the war. Oh yeah, that's right. And Kat
- 23:06Speaker 1: was like, oh, like that's another connection between the two
- 23:08Speaker 1: of them that she lost a brother. Of course, Grayson
- 23:11Speaker 1: is trying to get this movie made. The lead character's
- 23:13Speaker 1: name is Cassandra, Fern is playing. There's all these interconnected
- 23:16Speaker 1: stories that we don't fully know what is happening here. Yeah.
- 23:19Speaker 1: Remember also to last season when they were doing the
- 23:23Speaker 1: Ouigi board at Langamore. Yeah, it's the ghost Cassandra. Yes
- 23:28Speaker 1: there so, yes, great, I would love some more detail
- 23:33Speaker 1: about that. Yes. And finally that scene you talked about
- 23:39Speaker 1: with Fern and Kat when they're being chased by the
- 23:41Speaker 1: Augie boys, Fern's like, I know you know Tesla Cooper,
- 23:45Speaker 1: I know Anti Coop and she goes, oh, so her
- 23:46Speaker 1: prediction came true then, and I kind of love. Kat's like,
- 23:49Speaker 1: stop talking in riddles, just like, tell me what you know,
- 23:52Speaker 1: and she doesn't really tell her anything. But the idea
- 23:55Speaker 1: is that anti Coop line suggests that she was maybe
- 23:59Speaker 1: an older maternal figure in her life. She's maybe aged
- 24:04Speaker 1: since her arrival in the eighties, if she's lived here
- 24:06Speaker 1: all this time. Grayson has also said when they talk
- 24:09Speaker 1: about Auntie Coop, he said, oh, she's she's gone a lot. Yeah,
- 24:13Speaker 1: she travels a lot. Yeah, it's a lot, a lot
- 24:17Speaker 1: of a lot, of a lot of easter eggs, dropped
- 24:19Speaker 1: a lot of junk drawer. Yes that was Zach shout
- 24:23Speaker 1: out to our rider in her who suggested, yes, episode
- 24:28Speaker 1: was like that. I think this episode was a lot
- 24:29Speaker 1: like that too. I have a couple of just funny
- 24:32Speaker 1: little comments. Sure, I like Nick's line, univer factor and
- 24:36Speaker 1: scent when you study history, it's like a lot more
- 24:39Speaker 1: pungent than I imagine. Also Nick's hare after time traveling, oh
- 24:44Speaker 1: so much better when he woke up in jail. Yes, yes,
- 24:48Speaker 1: it was so wavy and cute, so much better than
- 24:51Speaker 1: his usual Gavin knwsome slick bag. I agree, I loved it. Also,
- 24:56Speaker 1: Cliff Kane crumbled like a cookie the second Cat talks
- 24:59Speaker 1: about her suspicion. It's about grades, and he's like, you
- 25:01Speaker 1: know it too. I was like, she's literally in your
- 25:04Speaker 1: prison and you're just now you're conspiring with her to
- 25:06Speaker 1: get information. Yeah, I mean the man, the man needs
- 25:10Speaker 1: a partner. I have two things that I bumped on
- 25:14Speaker 1: in this time era. At one point, Nick and Cat
- 25:17Speaker 1: are walking and he's talking about how much he's fun
- 25:21Speaker 1: he's had in this time travel experience, and he says,
- 25:26Speaker 1: I haven't had this much fun in years. A hundred
- 25:29Speaker 1: years actually I heard that. Is that just a casual threat,
- 25:33Speaker 1: like I haven't had a fun and one hundred years? Well,
- 25:37Speaker 1: that's a good question. I heard it as we time
- 25:41Speaker 1: traveled from twenty twenty six, so it's been one hundred years,
- 25:46Speaker 1: like him making a joke. Okay, I don't think Nick's
- 25:50Speaker 1: deep enough to be having this secret time travel pathstair.
- 25:53Speaker 1: I just thought it was a wird it is, but okay,
- 25:56Speaker 1: I hear also. I think it was more like booom,
- 26:00Speaker 1: Cliff lets Cat and Nick go yeah, out of the thing,
- 26:04Speaker 1: and then he says something about like and you're wearing
- 26:06Speaker 1: my clothes. Yeah. Cliff does some paus and go, why
- 26:09Speaker 1: is this guy wearing my clothes? Like he knows for
- 26:11Speaker 1: sure he's wearing his clothes. We established early early on
- 26:15Speaker 1: in the episode that Nick steals to clothes sure Cliff,
- 26:17Speaker 1: and then he feels like at one point he's gonna
- 26:19Speaker 1: get busted for wearing cliffs clothes. But as they're leaving
- 26:22Speaker 1: the jail, Cliff says something about you're wearing my clothes.
- 26:26Speaker 1: Isn't that strake Cliff? Weird? Why would Nick need clothes?
- 26:30Speaker 1: Kneed clothes? Yeah, I don't know, but again, people are
- 26:33Speaker 1: stinky in the past. Maybe he just needed a fresh
- 26:35Speaker 1: pair of clothes for whatever reason. Just interesting. Yes, yes,
- 26:39Speaker 1: Cliff should have questioned that a little further perhaps, But
- 26:41Speaker 1: this is you know, this is when my Cliff's not
- 26:43Speaker 1: the best investigator in the world. I think Cliff's got
- 26:46Speaker 1: Fern on his mind and Fern only and maybe taking
- 26:49Speaker 1: down Grace and good one, but doesn't quite know how
- 26:51Speaker 1: to get there, and it's probably gonna be Cat's doing.
- 26:53Speaker 1: That's like, I have a suspicion, but no evidence. I
- 26:55Speaker 1: have a question about Grayson. Yeah, we're led to believe
- 26:59Speaker 1: in this segment that Grayson genuinely cares for Fern. He
- 27:02Speaker 1: talks about thoughts of Fern and Port Haven were the
- 27:04Speaker 1: only things getting me through the war. And Kat certainly
- 27:07Speaker 1: believes that he is sincere. Do you buy his sincerity?
- 27:12Speaker 1: I have to question it because he ends up marrying
- 27:15Speaker 1: somebody else and why we don't know and who this
- 27:18Speaker 1: other person is or whatever circumstance got them there. So
- 27:21Speaker 1: I don't know. Maybe, especially the phone call after I
- 27:24Speaker 1: already took care of Fern, What does that mean? I
- 27:26Speaker 1: think it only adds to Kat's suspicion, like she's worried
- 27:29Speaker 1: at that point, she hasn't hasn't had eyes on Fern
- 27:32Speaker 1: during this visit. She's worried about where Fern's at, and
- 27:34Speaker 1: maybe she's taking there's no context there, like maybe I
- 27:40Speaker 1: took care of Fern, I paid her for her role.
- 27:44Speaker 1: I don't know, because we're assuming that's Hollywood calling. Yeah.
- 27:47Speaker 1: And he also says Kat's like worse Fern, and he's like,
- 27:49Speaker 1: Erne does what she wants mm hm basically, and he
- 27:52Speaker 1: almost seems like says that it in a tone of
- 27:54Speaker 1: she's a little too independent for my liking. Mm like
- 27:56Speaker 1: I can't can't keep her down. I can't keep her down.
- 28:01Speaker 1: Are you ready to talk about Alison Elliott? Yeah? Oki Doki, Well,
- 28:05Speaker 1: we're back in the seventies, nineteen seventy nine, not nineteen
- 28:09Speaker 1: twenty five like they. I think Elliott had hoped, because
- 28:12Speaker 1: Elliott's like, Kat went, I gotta go. I gotta be
- 28:14Speaker 1: the one to bring Tessa back. Oh yeah, he really
- 28:17Speaker 1: wants to be the one that brings Tessa home. I
- 28:20Speaker 1: really loved this visit in nineteen seventy nine for Elliott.
- 28:24Speaker 1: They come across Evelyn and Tessa playing in the woods
- 28:29Speaker 1: with Lewis, and Tessa is dressed as the White Witch right,
- 28:33Speaker 1: and Evelyn says, your uncle Colton and I saw the
- 28:36Speaker 1: White Witch when we were children, and someday I'll see
- 28:38Speaker 1: her again. And it's like this whole like, ooh, I'm
- 28:40Speaker 1: the White Witch. You know the lore of the land,
- 28:43Speaker 1: and what's the significance there, we don't really know. We
- 28:47Speaker 1: also see Evelyn read Tessa's tarot cards, and this is
- 28:52Speaker 1: when they have the moment. She says like, oh, I
- 28:54Speaker 1: see motherhood in your future. There's two things. She says,
- 28:56Speaker 1: I see a tall, dark and handsome stranger and she's like, oh,
- 28:59Speaker 1: well that doesn't sound like Vick, so is that Griffin?
- 29:02Speaker 1: And then the other is I see a motherhood. And
- 29:04Speaker 1: Tessa's like, I don't know if I want to be
- 29:05Speaker 1: a mom, And then Evelyn paints this beautiful picture of
- 29:08Speaker 1: what it's like to be a mom, and Tessa's like,
- 29:09Speaker 1: I can't wait. And so Elliott gets to see this
- 29:12Speaker 1: vision of his mother really looking forward to the idea
- 29:15Speaker 1: of him, which seemed visually healing. Yeah, I agree. And
- 29:20Speaker 1: then again more junk drawer. Tessa steals those two Tarot
- 29:24Speaker 1: cards tuck them in our dress. Those have to be
- 29:26Speaker 1: the two Tarat cards that are found in the suitcase. Absolutely. Also,
- 29:30Speaker 1: did you notice she said she's reading palms too? And
- 29:34Speaker 1: I remember back in nineteen twenty five at Grayson's party
- 29:38Speaker 1: they had a palm reader there, but we never saw
- 29:41Speaker 1: who the palm reader was. Yes, everyone believes that that
- 29:45Speaker 1: is Tesla, the fortune teller at that party. And then
- 29:48Speaker 1: we get kind of a redemption story here of Vic
- 29:51Speaker 1: and Elliott. Can I just say I thought this scene
- 29:54Speaker 1: between Vic and Elliott was one of the best written
- 29:59Speaker 1: scenes and best acted scenes I've seen maybe in this series. Yeah,
- 30:04Speaker 1: it was great. So everybody who thinks I'm an Elliott hater,
- 30:08Speaker 1: I thought this was so good. Evan Williams is doing
- 30:11Speaker 1: so much with his face in this entire trip in
- 30:16Speaker 1: seventy nine. I got chills and I cried. I know
- 30:19Speaker 1: when I said it was he was visually healed by
- 30:21Speaker 1: the conversation with his mom. We have only known Vic
- 30:25Speaker 1: up until the last episode as this gruff, abusive, terrible man,
- 30:31Speaker 1: and once again Elliott gets to see Vic excited about
- 30:35Speaker 1: the idea of him he wanted. Elliott was wanted. Now
- 30:40Speaker 1: many things stepped in to make the rest of his
- 30:44Speaker 1: life with Vic not great, and I blame Vic for that.
- 30:47Speaker 1: Like Vic had a choice, even if he's heartbroken. He
- 30:49Speaker 1: didn't need to be a terrible father. But I can
- 30:52Speaker 1: only imagine if you could see your parents thinking, oh
- 30:54Speaker 1: my gosh, I can't wait for this life with my
- 30:57Speaker 1: future child, Like they're so excited just for the idea
- 31:01Speaker 1: of him and building a family and building a life.
- 31:03Speaker 1: That's I mean, Elliott needed that. I agree. He's had
- 31:07Speaker 1: a rough go this season. Yeah, I agree, so I thought.
- 31:13Speaker 1: And just the earnestness with which young Vic talks about
- 31:17Speaker 1: his future, because he comes up he's like, hey, can
- 31:19Speaker 1: I help you? Yeah. He came off kind of a
- 31:21Speaker 1: cured yeah, which you know understandably, what's this guy doing
- 31:25Speaker 1: on your land? Yeah? And he's like, you know I'm
- 31:27Speaker 1: visiting the landryes. I know Colton, which is great, great
- 31:30Speaker 1: thinking on your feet, Elliott better than Cat, and then yes,
- 31:35Speaker 1: and then as soon as Elliott says congratulations Colton told
- 31:39Speaker 1: me about the engagement, he just softens, right, Yeah, it's nice. Yeah,
- 31:45Speaker 1: this is again. I'm like, oh, look at me, feeling
- 31:47Speaker 1: empathy towards Vic and really thinking about you know how
- 31:52Speaker 1: there's like the there's two current like very trending kind
- 31:56Speaker 1: of sayings right now if you're on TikTok a lot
- 31:58Speaker 1: like oh, he's just boy right like Vic, the kind
- 32:04Speaker 1: of jerky present day Dad was just a boy at
- 32:07Speaker 1: once his first time on Earth. It's his first time
- 32:10Speaker 1: on Earth too, so that's why I can get some
- 32:12Speaker 1: grace too. Yeah, he made some shitty parenting choices, but
- 32:16Speaker 1: it was his first time too experiencing that, so I
- 32:20Speaker 1: can give this character some empathy. We also have another
- 32:26Speaker 1: emotional gut punch in this time period, with Colton wordlessly
- 32:31Speaker 1: telling Evelyn about Dell losing the baby, and of course
- 32:34Speaker 1: Evelyn is devastated by this news. It's nice because Evie
- 32:39Speaker 1: and Dell in previous years were a little antagonistic because
- 32:44Speaker 1: Evie thought she was in love with Colton and now
- 32:47Speaker 1: they seem to have come to a really great place.
- 32:49Speaker 1: Let me ask you, then, how does things go so
- 32:52Speaker 1: sideways between them? Because like Evie dies alone and I
- 32:56Speaker 1: remember Dell from like season one being like, oh, I
- 33:00Speaker 1: should have gone up to visit her whatever, Like how
- 33:03Speaker 1: great their relationship goes so well? In the post Dell's losses?
- 33:09Speaker 1: Did she become the kind of person who didn't have
- 33:11Speaker 1: anything to give? Maybe? Maybe? Isn't there a scene in
- 33:15Speaker 1: season one where Evelyn says something like you owe me
- 33:17Speaker 1: to Dell. Oh, I can't remember. I thought that was
- 33:20Speaker 1: really nice, Alice overhears. Alice is obviously emotional. This episode
- 33:24Speaker 1: did so much to solidify the warmth in Alice in
- 33:29Speaker 1: Dell's relationship, Like how much Alice we heard her call
- 33:32Speaker 1: her Grandma so many times, which we think of her
- 33:36Speaker 1: as Dell, but't it's I thought it was nice. And
- 33:39Speaker 1: then again we see Dell dealing with her loss and
- 33:44Speaker 1: Colton is trying to can I get you anything? How
- 33:46Speaker 1: are you? She's like, I'm fine. She's obviously not fine,
- 33:49Speaker 1: but she's just trying to be fine. It's kind of
- 33:52Speaker 1: mirrored in present day when the man are trying to
- 33:54Speaker 1: take care of her, and she's like, I'm fine. I
- 33:56Speaker 1: don't you know, I don't need to be babied. In
- 33:59Speaker 1: this moment, I texted you, I said, maybe Dell isn't
- 34:04Speaker 1: the biological mom of Yeah and or Jacob. And this
- 34:09Speaker 1: is what is making me think this, Yeah, because she
- 34:13Speaker 1: tells Colton she's blaming herself for not being able to
- 34:19Speaker 1: grow a baby, right, And I was like, oh, and
- 34:22Speaker 1: they had such a hard time getting pregnant. Does this
- 34:27Speaker 1: fertility issue continue on? And therefore somebody else had these
- 34:34Speaker 1: children of Colton's. Maybe, and that is who Kat and
- 34:40Speaker 1: or Jacob is. I don't know, Evelyn. Maybe, but that's
- 34:44Speaker 1: a lot to unpack very much. Five more episodes, so
- 34:48Speaker 1: I agree, who knows? And I doubt it. I don't
- 34:51Speaker 1: think it's that far fetched of a thought though. When
- 34:54Speaker 1: we're in this it could tell two stories. One that
- 34:57Speaker 1: she's not their biological mother. It could also tell this
- 35:00Speaker 1: story of because she fought so hard to get and
- 35:04Speaker 1: stay pregnant, that's why losing Jacob was such a depitistating
- 35:09Speaker 1: loss that it wouldn't be had she had an easy
- 35:11Speaker 1: time getting pregnant. But it just compounds how hard she
- 35:14Speaker 1: got to have him Cat. Aren't you like hello? Because
- 35:19Speaker 1: they had such a rough time, Dell loses Jacob, Jacob
- 35:24Speaker 1: goes missing. Yeah, aren't you like hello, I'm still here. Yeah,
- 35:29Speaker 1: she has Kat, that's another child. So I'm like, what
- 35:31Speaker 1: if Kat is not her kid? And so therefore it
- 35:34Speaker 1: wasn't as like, yeah, and what's the secret the typewriter
- 35:38Speaker 1: was about we've written notes here about who knows? Who knows?
- 35:42Speaker 1: I have one more thought. Okay, I really loved Elliott
- 35:45Speaker 1: at the end in the archives. Oh yeah, So we
- 35:49Speaker 1: have Jacob come home and I was like, I'm gonna
- 35:52Speaker 1: let you guys like decompress and like ketch up and whatever.
- 35:55Speaker 1: And he bounces and he takes Kat's keys without her knowing. Yeah,
- 36:01Speaker 1: which is so unlike Elliott because but prior to that
- 36:05Speaker 1: they had he and Kat have this conversation like Kat's like,
- 36:08Speaker 1: I'm gonna go jump, I'm gonna find your mom. I'm
- 36:10Speaker 1: going to do this. He's like, yo, slow down, your
- 36:12Speaker 1: brother's home. That's what matters. Like, just focus on that.
- 36:16Speaker 1: He's like, it's okay, we can. But you think, oh,
- 36:18Speaker 1: he has a little bit of closure. He saw his
- 36:21Speaker 1: mom and dad whatever. But then he swipes his keys
- 36:24Speaker 1: and he's at the Herald going through the archives. Hey burn,
- 36:27Speaker 1: where is she at? And I thought, ooh, this is good.
- 36:29Speaker 1: This is like a nice little twisty turn, and that
- 36:31Speaker 1: I more like Kat in this moment. Yeah, I love it.
- 36:34Speaker 1: I love it. So I thought that was really good
- 36:37Speaker 1: and had me excited for the next episode. I agree.
- 36:41Speaker 1: I have a couple of little things to call out
- 36:43Speaker 1: about this episode that don't really fit anywhere. Speaking of Elliott,
- 36:46Speaker 1: at the end the text messages that Kat sends him,
- 36:50Speaker 1: she writes, just finished dins want to meet for veno
- 36:54Speaker 1: And I was like, what it just was something about it.
- 36:57Speaker 1: I was like, is that really how she talked? Too
- 36:58Speaker 1: casual for to forty year olds? I can't remember their ages, guys, Yeah,
- 37:03Speaker 1: they're in their forties. I don't know. I say, like
- 37:06Speaker 1: yo and yous r and for right now sure too.
- 37:10Speaker 1: I mean she wrote where are you? I get that,
- 37:13Speaker 1: but say I just finished dens want some bino. It
- 37:17Speaker 1: just it just made me giggle. I don't know why.
- 37:20Speaker 1: The one thing I want to say about Nick that
- 37:22Speaker 1: I don't know that I elegantly said during that time
- 37:24Speaker 1: period is I think it's interesting how we are given
- 37:28Speaker 1: the information that Nick was not just being a buffoon.
- 37:31Speaker 1: A little bit later, we see him walk up and
- 37:33Speaker 1: immediately start drinking with the guys. Cat comes back. He's
- 37:36Speaker 1: singing with them. He's got all this going on. But
- 37:38Speaker 1: when they wake up in jail, he's got the map
- 37:41Speaker 1: to their stills and he's got all this information about
- 37:43Speaker 1: how these operations were running, and so it reframes him
- 37:48Speaker 1: as this like, oh, look look what it's got going
- 37:50Speaker 1: on exactly. His hair looks amazing. His hair looks amazing,
- 37:55Speaker 1: all right? Some questions from earlier episodes, when and where
- 38:00Speaker 1: is Tessa now? Has she not chosen to come back
- 38:02Speaker 1: or is she stuck? What's going on with Nick? He's
- 38:05Speaker 1: closing on a house and coming back with Claire in
- 38:06Speaker 1: a month. Is there something more to Claire that we
- 38:09Speaker 1: don't know about? Or is it simply like the Rachel
- 38:13Speaker 1: stepmother to Alice. They just haven't cast this character because
- 38:16Speaker 1: we don't need to. Yeh from this episode, Who is
- 38:19Speaker 1: Tessa to Fern? Exactly? What's around that prediction that someone
- 38:25Speaker 1: would come looking to her? What is I have already
- 38:26Speaker 1: dealt with Fern that Grayson says, is Julie connected something
- 38:30Speaker 1: larger here or is this just a romantic foil to Sam?
- 38:33Speaker 1: Is there something more to his Shakespearean quotes? The Augie
- 38:37Speaker 1: Boys and Coop? If she comes back, there will be
- 38:39Speaker 1: hell to pay. Who is issuing that threat? Is it
- 38:42Speaker 1: a pone? Is it someone we know? And you know,
- 38:45Speaker 1: there's just a lot, There's just so many questions, too
- 38:47Speaker 1: many questions. Will we have five episodes left to get
- 38:50Speaker 1: these answers? I know, I know there's no Max in
- 38:55Speaker 1: this episode's We haven't seen Casey yet this entire season,
- 38:58Speaker 1: and we're halfway through. We introduce this new woman in
- 39:01Speaker 1: Jacob's life in the bar. Elliott is now on a
- 39:04Speaker 1: mission to figure out what's going on with his mother.
- 39:07Speaker 1: It's a lot, It is a lot. I have a
- 39:09Speaker 1: question for you. Do you ever watch this show and
- 39:13Speaker 1: go We've gone so far away from like season one
- 39:18Speaker 1: of finding Jacob who is missing a little bit, Yeah,
- 39:22Speaker 1: a little bit right. I don't dislike it, maybe either.
- 39:26Speaker 1: I am frustrated by all the questions and answers, just
- 39:28Speaker 1: because I don't not really good with delayed gratification. But
- 39:33Speaker 1: I'm hoping. You know, it's funny because think about the pit, right,
- 39:36Speaker 1: the pitch like we're talking about the HBO Max series
- 39:40Speaker 1: The Pit If You Live under a Rock. Yes, it
- 39:42Speaker 1: set out so many questions that some didn't get answered,
- 39:45Speaker 1: some didn't have roal satisfactory answers, but many were dealing
- 39:48Speaker 1: with over the course of a fifteen episode season that
- 39:50Speaker 1: also dropped weekly, and we're okay with that. I'm not
- 39:55Speaker 1: sure what it is about the show that I'm like,
- 39:56Speaker 1: I need all the answers on, you know right now? Yeah,
- 39:58Speaker 1: I kind of need to be like, maybe just enjoy
- 40:01Speaker 1: the ride a little bit, Megan, a little nick in
- 40:03Speaker 1: my life. Yeah, you do you need a little sense
- 40:06Speaker 1: of wonder? Yes, I hear you. Well, that's a wrap
- 40:09Speaker 1: on our thoughts on season four, episode five of The
