- 0:00Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Three O Take, where we talk
- 0:04all. Things Major League Baseball.
- 0:06Here's Kyle Corwin and Nate Reyes it.
- 0:11All starts. Right now.
- 0:16Welcome back to the Three O take presented by Sea Kick.
- 0:18This is episode 479. I'll be your host Kyle Corden.
- 0:21I'm here with my Co host Nate Reyes.
- 0:27Nate. The World Series preview this
- 0:36season has gone by so fast. It's I'm like, it's so
- 0:44bittersweet. I think part of me is very
- 0:47distracted that like it's, it's not quite hitting me that the
- 0:52season has come to an end because my team's still in it.
- 0:58And I, I, I'm going to be sad in a few weeks.
- 1:01I'm going to be very sad. Yeah, you're in a very unique
- 1:06situation. Like you said, your, your team's
- 1:09obviously in this thing. But for us, us fans who don't
- 1:13have a dog in the fight necessarily, like today, for
- 1:15example, I'm getting I'm getting notifications on like possible
- 1:23trade offseason trade moves that could go down like I don't want.
- 1:27I don't, I don't have a dog in the fight, but I don't want to
- 1:29hear this right now. Yeah, we're not ready for that.
- 1:30Yeah, See, they're still baseball on.
- 1:32In fact, we're we're gearing up for quite possibly one of the
- 1:36better World Series we've seen in recent memory.
- 1:38Let's can we just please just just like one more week hold off
- 1:44before we dive head first into the the offseason stuff.
- 1:47That's all I ask. Unreal.
- 1:52How you feeling man? Just just lay it out there.
- 1:57This week's going by very slow. It's going by very slow.
- 2:01Has it sunk in yet? Has it sunk in?
- 2:04I no, to be honest, no it hasn't.
- 2:08It hasn't. I'm one of those guys
- 2:12specifically with like merch. I'm not really interested in
- 2:18getting any World Series gear until after just because like I,
- 2:23I, I don't know, it could be a bad memory one like I do have a
- 2:29the one thing I ever did it and I don't know why I did it, but I
- 2:32got a hoodie outside of Yankee Stadium in 2017 and it was like
- 2:38unite in the Bronx or whatever and it says 2017 on it.
- 2:43And I'm like that. Like I I hate wearing that.
- 2:46I don't know why I have, you know what I mean?
- 2:48So like if this ends in a in in a poor way for me, like I'm not
- 2:54going to want any of that merch. So it's not like I've been
- 2:56shopping for merch. Everyone's asking me like, you
- 3:01know what my plans are. I'm going back and forth.
- 3:04One of my buddies, shout out Colin, Colin, if you're
- 3:06listening, sorry, buddy, but he texts me.
- 3:08He's like, we should watch the game somewhere Friday.
- 3:10And I'm like, I don't know if I can be in public at all for
- 3:16these games. Like I think I think I might
- 3:19need to stay at home. Is that OK?
- 3:22Is that a normal thing? Am I crazy for feeling or
- 3:26thinking? That's how I am.
- 3:27No, and I'd be curious if if our listeners kind of agree here.
- 3:33I'm the type of person the bigger the game, the more more
- 3:38private it needs to be, the more private the viewing needs to be.
- 3:422018 I watched that World Series in my apartment with nothing but
- 3:47a Red Robin burger there. Just me and me, myself and I.
- 3:52The take out play is big too. The.
- 3:54Take out just sitting there watching the the World Series.
- 3:57Nobody around. Yeah, yeah.
- 4:01So I can't. I can't have.
- 4:02To tell Colin no, I'm going to have to tell him no, I don't
- 4:06want him to come here. No, I don't want him.
- 4:08Yeah. I think he already knows.
- 4:11I want to settle in. What do I eat?
- 4:15I'm I all of this is like it's just being mapped out.
- 4:17It's being planned. What jersey am I going to wear?
- 4:19You know, like there's so far I've been wearing the judge
- 4:23jersey. Do I start mixing in, you know,
- 4:26other jerseys? Do I get a little Jeter Magic in
- 4:29there? Do I get some Mickey in there?
- 4:31I don't know, There's a lot going on in my head.
- 4:37I'm so it's the nerves are starting to set in.
- 4:40I'm going to be unwell on Friday.
- 4:41I'm going to be miserable at work.
- 4:46It's. Sweaty, you're going to be
- 4:47sweating profusely. You're going to need you're,
- 4:50you're probably going to be Downing a, a, a container of
- 4:53Pepto Bismol. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 4:56We should look into maybe getting like a Tums sponsorship
- 5:00slash partnership thing going on.
- 5:02Tums is it's like a key ingredient in my household.
- 5:08It's like, I don't know what container is larger, the Tums
- 5:12container or the garlic salt container.
- 5:14You know what I mean? Like they're both very big,
- 5:17taking up very important places and cabinets.
- 5:22Well, anyway, I'm good, I'm good.
- 5:25I'm just nervous. So I guess there's no real real
- 5:31chance that, you know, if this thing maybe goes like a game
- 5:34seven that we do like a Game 7 live stream You you don't think
- 5:37there's. Yeah, it'll have to be like the
- 5:41the not suitable for like the NSFW.
- 5:45I mean, that could play, that could play, you know, I'll, I'll
- 5:48allow it if I mean, if you're willing to.
- 5:50I just didn't even bother asking because I didn't know if that
- 5:52was a possibility. But if you're willing, we could
- 5:54commit right now. If I say go 7, we go.
- 5:57We do live stream. It would have to be not a two
- 5:59way. I wouldn't want to communicate
- 6:01with anybody. You can just set up a camera and
- 6:04I'm not looking or talking to anyone that would.
- 6:06Be great, actually. You could narrate me, yeah.
- 6:10Just mute the thing and I'll just sit.
- 6:13Yeah. Heck, we, I could even let some
- 6:16people on the stream if they wanted to.
- 6:18Wow, we could have fun with it. Yeah, but Nate, let's, let's let
- 6:23let's not beat around the Bush any longer here.
- 6:25Let's get into it. OK.
- 6:27Dodgers, Yankees coming to you this Friday, the first time in
- 6:3443 years since 1980. 1. Do you know what?
- 6:43This is the 12th time these two teams have met in the World
- 6:46Series. You know what the you know who
- 6:48holds the the the series lead in that situation.
- 6:54I don't actually. I'd probably 81.
- 7:02No, just Dodgers. No, I'm saying like they've met
- 7:0612 times, they've met 12 times. So who?
- 7:09Because I'm thinking of like when the Dodgers went out to LA
- 7:12and when are we counting Brooklyn?
- 7:15Or is it just the LA Dodgers? That's another fair question.
- 7:21These are parts of the. I didn't confirm.
- 7:23Yeah, it's just part of the equation.
- 7:24I'm going to. Give the edge to the Dodgers.
- 7:30In the 11 World Series that these two teams have met, the
- 7:33Yankees are actually 8:00 and 3:00.
- 7:35Really. So it bodes well for you and
- 7:40your and and your Yankees. I don't know if any of that
- 7:43matters, but I'll take it. I will take it.
- 7:47Well, talk to me. I'm obviously those previous 11
- 7:54World Series have no impact on on this matchup whatsoever.
- 7:57But given what we know going into this series and we just
- 8:03kind of alluded to it, do you feel like we're going going the
- 8:07distance with this given, given what's, I don't want to say
- 8:11what's at stake, but the the, the star power that's that's at
- 8:16the table here for this series. Yeah, I think so.
- 8:21I think so. Like I no offense against the
- 8:24Mets, but like I, I do think the Yankees are a better team than
- 8:26the Mets. I think they have better
- 8:29pitching and you know, for the Mets to get 6 out of it, I feel
- 8:36like we're going at least 6. So I, I think it's going to be a
- 8:41long one. I think it's going to be good.
- 8:43I think it's going to be entertaining.
- 8:45I think it's, it's going to be fun.
- 8:47I mean, I'm in a world where I'm much like, I can't really
- 8:52imagine it being so, you know, disappointing or, or let down in
- 8:56any way. Like this is such a cool thing
- 9:00for baseball, for sports, for phantom across the world.
- 9:04Like I think I did see I saw a notification today that the CSS
- 9:12were the most watched since 2017.
- 9:16I do I do think I think this is going to break records and I
- 9:22think it's going to have like the the casual fan hooked as
- 9:26well. I think it's not just, you know,
- 9:32these two small, you know, teams and no offence to get against
- 9:35like recent memory, we have to go back to like Rangers D backs
- 9:38and you're just like, those are just, you know, specific, you
- 9:43know, people that don't follow baseball know who Shohei Otani
- 9:46is. People who don't follow baseball
- 9:47know who Aaron Judge is. You know, like these are names
- 9:51that just kind of exceed our realm a little bit.
- 9:57And I think that itself is going to bring in some eyes.
- 10:03So I'm stoked, man. I'm I, I like fandom aside,
- 10:09Yankee fandom aside, I think I feel like baseball's just so
- 10:15back. It's so, so back.
- 10:22I'm here for it. And this is like the, I'm not
- 10:27going to say like the first step in the right direction because I
- 10:30think there's been a lot of things, you know, as much as we
- 10:33complained, I think the pitch clock probably did more good
- 10:36than bad. I think it did a lot for
- 10:42speeding up the game because it did attract some people that
- 10:46maybe weren't watching because of that.
- 10:48And we're watching anyway. So I think a lot of those steps
- 10:53have led to the right direction. We've got an offense without
- 10:57changing the game too much. I think we're it's a slippery
- 11:03slope. And that's our argument over the
- 11:06last few years with these rule changes is like when, when does
- 11:08it end? Where does it end?
- 11:12But so far, like, those have been positive steps for new
- 11:15viewers, for people watching. And like, if people are watching
- 11:23baseball for the first time and sitting down, they're getting to
- 11:25see Yankees, Dodgers, getting to see see Shohei and Judge and two
- 11:28MVPS clash. Like I feel like that could
- 11:33ignite something to continue to watch our game.
- 11:37I'm glad you brought that up. I do have a note here.
- 11:41This will be the first time in World Series history that both
- 11:46teams will feature a player who is at 50 or more home runs that
- 11:49season. That's pretty wild.
- 11:51In total, yeah, part of me is like that's that's kind of hard
- 11:55to believe. But I mean, I guess not even in
- 11:59the not even in the steroid era where we where we getting this
- 12:03done. There will be five former
- 12:06position player MVPS in this series, Shohei Otani, Mookie
- 12:11Betts, Freddie Freeman, Jean Carlo Stanton, Aaron Judge.
- 12:14And then also you have game one starter Garrett Cole as the
- 12:19reigning Cy Young winner. Yeah, I mean, we jokes aside and
- 12:28dare I say bit aside and we talked about it last episode,
- 12:35the magnitude and and I don't want to beat a dead horse here,
- 12:38but the magnitude of this World Series I I think has potential
- 12:45to really really, for lack of a better way of saying it, take
- 12:53the take the sport to a new level, to a new height that I
- 12:58just don't think you're getting with other matchups.
- 13:02Sure, you may get a fraction of it or or or a percentage point
- 13:06higher in terms of where the game is at the state of the
- 13:10game, but it to to have these two teams meeting.
- 13:16It's just, and what I was saying earlier, like jokes aside, like
- 13:21with with Major League Baseball, just foaming at the mouth for
- 13:25this. I for obvious reasons, though,
- 13:27you can't fault them. You can't fault them.
- 13:30You can't blame them for wanting this and and not just wanting
- 13:34this at the start of the postseason.
- 13:36They've been wanting this for years, just Dodgers, Yankees in
- 13:41general. But now you've got Shohei coming
- 13:46across town to play for the Dodgers.
- 13:48You've got Aaron and and having one of the most insane seasons
- 13:52we've ever seen. And then you've got Aaron Judge
- 13:55on the other side also having one of the most insane seasons
- 13:58we've ever seen. And need we remind you that was
- 14:02with the slow start that he had. So there's just so much at play
- 14:06here that I think really just adds juice to to the narrative,
- 14:14to the. There's a lot of storylines.
- 14:17There's a lot of storylines like the Verdugo Mookie connection,
- 14:22you know, Judge being from California, Stanton being from
- 14:25California, like you're getting a lot of play here in in a lot
- 14:31of different ways. That's oh, dude, there any way
- 14:36you put it, Every every thing I've listened to, everything
- 14:39I've read, everything I've watched, it's just been like
- 14:42this. It can't disappoint, man.
- 14:47It can't. Well, let's talk about.
- 14:50I love you, but I hate you for like 2 weeks, potentially
- 14:55longer. Sorry, I'm not that sorry, but
- 15:01you got to understand. It's understandable, resident
- 15:04Dodgers fans. Murray in the chat, let's talk
- 15:07about let let's let's do a little bit of a breakdown here
- 15:10of of each team, maybe look at some reasons why a a given team
- 15:17may win, why they may not win. And we'll start with your
- 15:23Yankees, we'll start with your Yankees.
- 15:26And we'll specifically start with a guy that I've been, I've
- 15:31been ribbing you about for the last couple weeks.
- 15:34And for good reason. Like again, bit aside, I there,
- 15:40there's been some validity to what I've been saying with the
- 15:43whole, you know, Captain Phillips meme.
- 15:45Stanton kicking in the door. OK, I'm the captain now.
- 15:48Stanton has proven why he has, at least for the meantime, at
- 15:53least in the meantime, taken that throne.
- 15:58But let's talk Aaron Judge specifically, though, because
- 16:04I've seen a lot of commentary on this.
- 16:05I think there's a lot of people, maybe maybe not a lot of people,
- 16:08but I, I've seen a fair number of, of people saying that Judge,
- 16:13which it I have a hard time making sense of this because of
- 16:18who he is and the stature that he has.
- 16:21But they're saying that he could be The X Factor for the Yankees
- 16:24when when in all reality, he's like one of the top three
- 16:29players in baseball. Yeah, it's kind of a cop out X
- 16:32Factor choice. Sure.
- 16:34But I, I, it speaks to it speaks to his, his performance this
- 16:37year. I mean, he's 5 for 31 and he has
- 16:4013 strikeouts to his name. So I mean, what do we think
- 16:46here? Like do we think that this is
- 16:48this is an opportunity for him to or, or I should say that the
- 16:51time that the team has had off, do you think this has served as
- 16:55a time for him to hit the reset button or and be honest, like
- 17:00try to set your bias aside. Do you think the post season
- 17:05struggle bust narrative continues for Judge?
- 17:13It felt like it felt like the at bats were looking better at
- 17:17certain times. And I think that there's I would
- 17:25count maybe 3 or 4 balls that could have changed the
- 17:29narrative, you know, hard hit balls.
- 17:34I think he had like, you know, you go back to like the royal
- 17:37series where I think that was the biggest struggle.
- 17:42I think he had like four or five balls that were hard hit, which
- 17:46we're over 95 miles an hour, you know what I mean?
- 17:49And and there's certain, you know, just baseball things that
- 17:54could change that. And and if it, you know, goes
- 17:57his way, we're not really talking this way as much.
- 18:01The strikeouts have been like almost like the the holes that
- 18:08judge used to have that you hadn't really seen all year.
- 18:12You'd have to go back to that first month of of the season
- 18:15where you were like, OK, so we're flying open on change UPS
- 18:19down in and we can't reach sliders down out fastball up in
- 18:27is struggling to get on top of like those are the three spots
- 18:31where seemed like he could still figure it out throughout the
- 18:34year. But this post season, it just it
- 18:39tells me that he's trying to lift and he's and he's trying to
- 18:42pull and I'm hoping that this time is allowed him to kind of
- 18:50reset a little bit, talk to his goofy hitting coach and get back
- 18:54in line. It's just it's so hard to tell,
- 19:01man, that I do love aspects of the break, but I again, like
- 19:09these guys don't get this much time off in between games.
- 19:14So I'm curious to see if Stanton stays hot.
- 19:18I'm curious to see if a judge gets worse because of this
- 19:23break, like do you know what I mean?
- 19:25Or if the entire Dodgers offense cools down because of this
- 19:28break. So I don't know.
- 19:31I did have a a note on him that, you know, I looked at like what
- 19:35on base percentage looked like when they were behind Still a
- 19:39500 on base percentage so far through this postseason when the
- 19:42Yankees are behind, it does dip down to 381 when the team is
- 19:47ahead. So it's interesting that like, I
- 19:54don't know, maybe he's a little surprised on how teams are
- 19:59attacking him and continuing to attack him and like not really
- 20:03fearing him the same way he's used to over the season.
- 20:07It's it's kind of odd. It's kind of odd.
- 20:10I I think all baseball fans hope for him to just go off and him
- 20:15and Otani to just have. Incredible series because that's
- 20:19really what this is about. This is the main storyline.
- 20:22You know, I want our best hitter to do his best.
- 20:25I want their best hitter to do their best and, you know, kind
- 20:29of come down from that. So I'm hoping, I'm really
- 20:34hoping, man. Well, looking at the rest of
- 20:38that line up, and I mean, it's something that you hear all
- 20:41postseason, seemingly every postseason is the importance of
- 20:45out homering your opponent. This post season, teams are 21
- 20:49and seven when they're able to do that last year, which is a
- 20:53winning percentage of a 750 for those keeping track at home.
- 20:57Last year was 862. Teams were 25 and four when they
- 21:01out homered their opponents. So with that said, look at and,
- 21:04and touching on the rest of the lineup, as you were talking
- 21:07about do are are, how are you confident in the rest of that
- 21:13lineup being able to carry the weight in that way?
- 21:16Because Stanton, who had four, Soto had three, Judge, the
- 21:23aforementioned Judge had two. They hit nine of the team's home
- 21:28runs, nine of the 10 home runs in the ALCS.
- 21:33Judge aside, are you confident in those other in those other
- 21:37guys to to be able to continue to carry that weight?
- 21:44That's I think that's obviously where the Dodgers have the edge.
- 21:47Like, you know, they're one through 9.
- 21:49You're watching guys that don't hit home runs hitting them.
- 21:52You're watching a Will Smith hit eighth.
- 21:56You know what I mean? Like that there's definitely pop
- 21:58throughout. The Yankees are playing very
- 22:02differently. They're walking a ton, and I
- 22:06love that some of those guys are walking, but like, certain guys
- 22:10have to show up. Like Jazz needs to do something
- 22:14in this in this World Series. No pop from him. 147 with 11 KS.
- 22:21I I don't expect much from from Glaber in the role as a lead off
- 22:29guy. It seems like it's really
- 22:30changed his approach and I prefer this approach over him
- 22:35trying to lift anything from, you know, a Volpe or Ferdugo is
- 22:40is basically a bonus. The big story I think is just
- 22:46how rough Austin Wells has been. You know, he's struggled hitting
- 22:51forth. He struggled following up judge.
- 22:54That's a lot of why standing on top of being super hot has moved
- 22:58into the four hole. Like there's there's a few more
- 23:02names that need to pop off. I did pull up a couple matchups.
- 23:07I one that surprised me was Rizzo against Flaherty.
- 23:11Anthony Rizzo's nine for 21 with three home runs for a 571 on
- 23:17base percentage against Flaherty.
- 23:18So. That's your game one starter
- 23:20right there. There's, you know, some names
- 23:23that I think could potentially show up and provide some stuff.
- 23:28But yeah, it can't just be those three.
- 23:30As incredible as they are, it's obvious that all three haven't
- 23:36been clicking together yet. Maybe they will, but the rest of
- 23:41the line up, you know, certain pieces need to show up.
- 23:43If you can get five of the 9 doing their thing, you'd be
- 23:50pretty happy because you got to expect at least four or five of
- 23:54the Dodgers being on top of their stuff throughout the game
- 23:58to. Do the same, Yeah.
- 23:59I mean, you mentioned Volpe, he's, he's got a, a 459 OBP this
- 24:04post season. So do we already talked about
- 24:08his OPS is over 1100. I mean, it's yeah, I, I, I, I'm,
- 24:17I'm confident that the guys who have been hot will can will
- 24:22continue to stay that way. But to your point, it's, it's
- 24:25some of these other guys and it's, it's sort of goes without
- 24:28saying, but you, you are going to need guys elsewhere in the
- 24:34lineup to, to, to help set the tone or to, to get on base later
- 24:38in the game. Set up some some crucial ABS for
- 24:41some of these these big bigger boppers and, and just hope that
- 24:47you're pitching can, can handle the task.
- 24:50Because like you, you can't tout yourself as as the Bronx Bombers
- 24:56and, and bring this offense in from the ALCS and then just fall
- 24:59flat on your face. And then and just hope to lay it
- 25:01all at the feet of your your staff.
- 25:03That's just you're just not going to be able to get it done.
- 25:05Yeah. And again, like I do think this
- 25:07is a really, really proven staff to this point.
- 25:11I think they've done really well.
- 25:13They're taxed. They're definitely taxed.
- 25:16You're penned. You're you're high average guys.
- 25:19Taxed, it's five days off. Like I'm expecting a fully
- 25:23healthy pen from both sides. I think it does come down to
- 25:31the, you know, let's move past the one starter and like, let's
- 25:36start looking at, OK, well, are you going to get length out of
- 25:40Yamamoto? How much of A leash do you give
- 25:45Bueller? One good start, nothing else
- 25:50really looked to be, you know, super dominant is Rodon, You
- 25:58know, more than more than just the hype man through 3/4 innings
- 26:05and then just kind of imploding and and you know, he's he has
- 26:09given up a few home runs that he has struggled.
- 26:14Rodon and Cole are going to be two guys that at Cole, Cole more
- 26:19so, but Rodan, those two are going to have to really ensure
- 26:24that they give you as much length as they can.
- 26:27And again, that sort of goes without saying, but with this
- 26:30tax and and I know that both teams have have rest coming into
- 26:34this, but it's it's relative. Yeah.
- 26:36I mean, you just look at the usage of these later inning guys
- 26:40from on the side of the Yankees. Clay got a note here.
- 26:44Clay Holmes and Luke Weaver have appeared in eight of the 9
- 26:47postseason games. Yeah.
- 26:49So given that Weaver specifically has thrown assault
- 26:5410 and a third, which is the most of any reliever this
- 26:57postseason. See that's that's the biggest.
- 27:00Thing for me that's worrisome. That's the biggest thing for me
- 27:03is the number 9. A few episodes ago I got pissed
- 27:07because it's how often Boone is using Weaver for multiple inning
- 27:13saves. And it's like I that's not going
- 27:17to last throughout A7 game set. It's it's good for OK, maybe
- 27:20once or twice, but you can't continue to do that.
- 27:24So it is going to be interesting to see, you know, does Luis
- 27:28he'll get a start? Do you use him as middle relief?
- 27:33They talked about Nestor coming back.
- 27:35Who knows what you get out of him.
- 27:38You got to hope for some left on left, you know Good match up
- 27:40stuff there, but you're not getting a ton of length.
- 27:44How do you feel about that quote, by the way?
- 27:45I don't know if you saw it, but here asking about coming back
- 27:48and it was something to the effect of, you know, if, and I'm
- 27:54paraphrasing, but it was like, if I go into the offseason with
- 27:57a ring, but I have to miss a year, baseball like, so be it.
- 28:01I like it man. No, I mean, I love that
- 28:03mentality, but I'm like, I don't know, meant like when I hear
- 28:08that I'm going, OK, if you're already banking on this being
- 28:11that severe of a of a situation. Like how much quality are?
- 28:14You. What are you really bringing to
- 28:15the table? Here, Yeah, I get that.
- 28:18I definitely get that. There's just more Bulldog, you
- 28:23know what I mean? Like there's there's certain
- 28:25guys that just I think hype this clubhouse up, then hype up in a
- 28:32positive way just for showing up and showing out.
- 28:35And he seems like one of those guys.
- 28:36And it's like it's like a real gutsy kind of thing.
- 28:42But I don't know, I it's not something I'm like fully banking
- 28:45on. I think it's obviously that like
- 28:49it's obvious that Cole Rodon need to be on their game.
- 28:52Can you get a decent start out of Clark Schmidt?
- 28:57Can Louise heal, eat innings in the middle of games to like get
- 29:03get those tough situations out of Kane Lee and Clay and Weaver?
- 29:09Because like you can see what this Dodgers lineup can do if
- 29:13they're getting multiple views on those guys.
- 29:16And there's been some chinks in the armor with Weaver.
- 29:21There's been chinks in the armor obviously with Clay, Tommy Kane,
- 29:25Lee is a weird anomaly. I don't he does walk guys, but
- 29:30like, I don't understand how we all know that that change UPS
- 29:35coming and it's still, you know, guys aren't laying off of it.
- 29:40So lefties are going to be huge in this, you know, Tim Hilton,
- 29:45Mesa, Nestor again, like those are big at bats.
- 29:50Those are going to be big moments and curious to see just
- 29:54how things line up. So it's a tax bullpen for sure.
- 30:02But the time off I think is going to help.
- 30:04And I think it does come down. I think this series will come
- 30:07down to who's going to get that like bonus start, Who's going to
- 30:12get that one middle of the series start that like almost
- 30:17rejuvenates the bullpen, gives them rest.
- 30:21I think that's the deciding factor here.
- 30:27I would agree that's a that's a valid point and a valid focus
- 30:32that I think these two teams need to have coming into this.
- 30:34Like who can like who are you going to be able to trot out
- 30:37there that's going to be able to give you that that?
- 30:40Yeah. Surprise bonus performance that
- 30:43you weren't expecting Saul. Bueller and the NLCS, right?
- 30:46Like, you know, you, you could see that type of performance,
- 30:50you know, from a Clark Schmidt, from a Walker Bueller.
- 30:54You know, those guys like when it comes down to it, just kind
- 30:59of a flip of the coin. They're going to do it in
- 31:02different ways. The Dodgers are going to do it
- 31:04in different ways. And as as much as I thought like
- 31:10Boone was quick to get to the pen, Dave Roberts blows him out
- 31:13of the water in that area. That man will go to the pen
- 31:16whenever he needs to, but for good reason.
- 31:20Well, let's talk about the Dodgers here.
- 31:22Let's switch gears, let's flip that coin and let's talk about
- 31:28maybe some of the strengths and weaknesses or maybe who knows
- 31:32lack thereof that the Dodgers are bringing into this World
- 31:35Series. Because goes without saying that
- 31:38I mean, the offense we knew we knew about, but the question
- 31:44mark that we all had coming into this postseason was the staff
- 31:49for the Dodgers. But since have erased any and
- 31:54all questions about, or at least major concerns about any
- 32:01problems they may bring on that side of the ball.
- 32:04So let me ask you this. What do you think?
- 32:13Given that it seems as though both of those are are serving as
- 32:18strengths for the Dodgers. Which one?
- 32:20Which side of the ball is going to have to be better going up
- 32:25against the Yankees given the strengths and weaknesses that
- 32:29they have right now? Starting staff, I think this, I
- 32:32think the Dodgers starting staff needs to get some length because
- 32:39like we've talked about, like the Yankees have done a really
- 32:41good job with getting walks, getting on base, getting to the
- 32:45pen. As good as the Dodgers bullpen
- 32:51has been, you, you need some rest there.
- 32:56You need, you need some bonus time from that starting staff.
- 33:03I I would say that that the offensive side it just we're,
- 33:08I'm not, it's not like we're any of us are surprised of what this
- 33:11offense is doing. You know, like, I feel like that
- 33:17run support is going to be there.
- 33:19And I think that's why it's taking some pressure off of the
- 33:22starting staff. But at the same time, again,
- 33:28this Dodgers offense is going to be seeing better pitching than
- 33:31they saw in the NLCS in my mind. So is there some neutralizing
- 33:36that's going to happen there? If so, you need better starting
- 33:39pitching. That's, that's a tough, that's
- 33:43a, that's a tall ask for this for these starters coming out of
- 33:48LA Flaherty, Yamamoto, Bueller have combined to make eight
- 33:54playoff starts and four of those have lasted fewer than 5
- 33:59innings. So I think that speaks to both
- 34:03the fact that they just haven't been as effective and what
- 34:08you're saying earlier about Dave Roberts being quick to to pull
- 34:12the trigger. It just hasn't made for a great
- 34:15recipe in terms of pen usage and pen rest.
- 34:20And I, I don't know, like, I think if you can get to to what
- 34:26the Dodgers are trotting their trotting out there as their
- 34:29their top options for or really their only options for starting
- 34:33pitching, then OK, let's try for for the Yankees.
- 34:37Let's try to pick apart these relievers who to they're in, to
- 34:40their own credit, have been, have been pretty effective.
- 34:43I mean, they're the relief, the relief corps for the Dodgers 5
- 34:51and O3 saves and A316 ERA this month.
- 34:55So yeah, that's it. It's going to there's going to
- 35:02be a lot of weight that falls on the shoulders of these these
- 35:05starts for LA for sure. But if this offense continues to
- 35:09do what they do, I don't know how much it matters, man.
- 35:12I was pulling some numbers together of like what each team
- 35:16does in scoring when runners are in scoring position.
- 35:20And that's one of the biggest Achilles heels with the Yankees
- 35:24is not getting that big hit, not getting that clutch hit.
- 35:27Yes, we've seen home runs that are late in games to kind of
- 35:30swing the momentum back their way.
- 35:34But the Dodgers are nuts so far in this postseason.
- 35:38They're hitting 311 with runners in scoring position, 33 for 106.
- 35:49Yangster 180, 13 for 72. Well, maybe not necessarily with
- 35:59runners in scoring position, but with runners on.
- 36:02I think, I mean, we'd we'd be or miss if we didn't mention what
- 36:05show has been doing. 7 for 11, Yeah, with five walks, I
- 36:11believe. Yeah.
- 36:14This post season. Yeah, yeah.
- 36:18I mean. What's cool, I think what's cool
- 36:20about this and you know, like to be fair, like the more in early
- 36:30games we've seen during the regular season helps these
- 36:32numbers. But like what's so great about
- 36:34the World Series is that like it's so unpredictable because
- 36:37they haven't seen each other a lot.
- 36:39Like there's almost nothing to pull up matchup wise for for
- 36:42judge. There's almost nothing against
- 36:45Dodger pitchers, but some notable ones like I I wrote down
- 36:52like surprise things that you would see Soto struggles
- 36:56against. Flaherty one for 9, three punch
- 36:59outs. Those are those are two big egos
- 37:03going up against one another. So I could, I could see how
- 37:06maybe there'd be a little bit of a little bit of struggle there.
- 37:09Freddie Freeman seven punch outs and 20 ABS against against
- 37:13Garrett Cole, Mookie. Against Rodon, one for 19.
- 37:20Yeah. So just like some surprising
- 37:25weird ones. Something weird, Mookie.
- 37:27The goal is 7 for 17, but six of those are singles.
- 37:31And it's almost like if you're holding.
- 37:33Mookie to a single you're you're kind of happy I.
- 37:39Looked up certain splits. That I I wanted to make note of
- 37:44Garrett Cole. Righties are hitting 370 this
- 37:49post season off of him. 0 strikeouts.
- 37:56That's concerning. That's.
- 37:57Concerning you got some good righties in there Mookie TE
- 38:02Oscar are a problem. Yep, I would versus lefties.
- 38:07Freddie Otani, you know Muncie put those guys in that
- 38:10conversation. Lefties are.
- 38:12Hitting 243. Against Kerr Cole, 12 punch
- 38:15outs. So it's like this weird.
- 38:20Normally you see, you know, dominance right on right and
- 38:24right left is is typically the match up.
- 38:26You don't want to see if you're Garrett Cole, but it's been
- 38:28better that way. Rodan.
- 38:33Really. Struggling with runners in
- 38:35scoring position. Hitters are hitting. 300.
- 38:38Against him with runners in scoring position, same thing.
- 38:43Of like a weird. Split righties are hitting 320
- 38:46off of Yamamoto in the postseason.
- 38:50Two home runs, Flaherty kind of going with it, struggles against
- 38:57lefties, has given up seven hits, four walks.
- 39:04But I think, you know, going back to what we talked about,
- 39:06like the dominance of the back end of the bullpens for both
- 39:09sides. I know we've been talking, Luke.
- 39:12Weaver I know the narrative around Clay Holmes kind of been
- 39:16up and down all year. But I look to the Dodger side.
- 39:20When they're up, When they're leading.
- 39:25Batting average against for. Kopec, O 91.
- 39:29Batting average against. Vessia 1. 100 batting.
- 39:34Average against Phillips 1:30 and none of them have given up a
- 39:38home run while they do. We know if he's going to be.
- 39:40Back, I don't know, I was that's.
- 39:42What I was curious when I wrote it down.
- 39:44What's the latest on that? Let's see here.
- 39:52Rosters are out, right? I'm assuming they're out at this
- 39:55point. I didn't see anything about
- 40:01rosters. I thought they had to be real.
- 40:05Oh. What's today?
- 40:06Today's Wednesday, it'll be it's.
- 40:08Thursday, yeah, it'll be, it'll be tomorrow.
- 40:11Yeah. I don't know.
- 40:12But yeah, I mean. If they get if they can get him.
- 40:18And they can get. I mean, he, he, he put forth the
- 40:22176 this year. So if they can get even a
- 40:25fraction of that, just as another option, yeah.
- 40:29Later in games. Combine that with Kopec.
- 40:35I mean, you got and again, to reiterate, you need as much
- 40:40depth, as much length as you can get in A7 game series,
- 40:43especially a series that assuming things go to plan is
- 40:49going six or seven. Like I I just don't see any
- 40:53other way that this that this. That's the thing man, like we go
- 40:56old. School with this mentality like
- 40:57starting pitching has to play a factor at some point.
- 41:00It definitely does in A7 game set and I think that's where it
- 41:05this is what it comes down to is like these star power hitters,
- 41:10this star line UPS who gets more looks on the other team's
- 41:15bullpen. Who's able to do something?
- 41:18Late against that other bullpen, and the less starting pitching
- 41:23you get early in the series, the more bullpen you're going to
- 41:26see. Just how it goes.
- 41:31And these guys are so good. These hitters are.
- 41:34I mean, we're watching. I mean, we're in down the list
- 41:39you got. Judge, you got Soto, you got
- 41:41Mookie, you got Otani, you got Freddie Freeman.
- 41:43I would say 5 top ten players in baseball.
- 41:46Is that fair? I don't think that's crazy.
- 41:50No 5 top ten players in baseball on the field at one time.
- 41:59Gerrit Cole may be in. That conversation, but like,
- 42:03those guys are bona fide top ten players.
- 42:08And they're all. Really, truly Hall of Farmers,
- 42:13they know how to hit man. So like if you can see.
- 42:17You can see these guys. Multiple times in a series, it's
- 42:20going to make an impact. It's going to matter.
- 42:28I'm so nervous, dude. Well, I mean talking about it
- 42:31sucks by the way you mentioned I.
- 42:34Mean you, we, we mentioned the obvious names.
- 42:36We, we meant at least from, I mean, we're still talking
- 42:39doctors here. You mentioned Otani, you
- 42:41mentioned Freeman, you you mentioned Mookie.
- 42:44I don't know. How like if people how like how
- 42:48closely they were watching the NLCS in particular.
- 42:55Obviously you had Edmund with the MVP, he hit four O 7, had 11
- 42:59rubies, a 10/22 OPS but Max. Muncie had an OPS.
- 43:04Of 1363. And Shohei and and.
- 43:09Bets had had similar numbers there, but like Edmund and
- 43:11Muncie. We talked about the rest and the
- 43:15impact. That it it may or may not have
- 43:16on guys if if, if they can just keep rolling right on through
- 43:19that makes this line up that much deeper a line up that we
- 43:23already know is deep. But it's just a matter of when
- 43:26you catch that line up. Are they are they hitting a
- 43:29little bit of a lull? Are they are they, are they in
- 43:31the middle of a a bad street? Or are they?
- 43:35Are they? Are they?
- 43:38Building off of that confidence. That they built the series
- 43:41before? We'll obviously find out, but if
- 43:45that answer is yes. I'm sorry.
- 43:49Yankees pitching staff, but you've got your work cut out for
- 43:53you, yeah? I have, I mean, if, if we're
- 43:58being totally honest, I have fears of of when I've seen this
- 44:06Yankees team implode, I've seen this Yankees team completely
- 44:12fall on their face. I've seen certain.
- 44:16Names disappear and. Just go dark.
- 44:20I've watched it. Multiple times this this season
- 44:24and I, I don't know, I've no idea if it's going to show up.
- 44:29It sucks like it it could and I, I think maybe Dodgers fans could
- 44:34could speak something similar at.
- 44:37Certain points in this. Season, like you've watched it
- 44:40kind of all go away, but like how much of that is blamed on
- 44:43injury? How much of that is blamed on
- 44:45not having any pitching during the regular season?
- 44:49It's just like. I have no idea man.
- 44:53You have, you truly have no idea these guys having, you know, a
- 44:57week off before playing, that's abnormal.
- 45:01There's certain, there's so many.
- 45:02Factors, you know, giving Rizzo and Freeman more time to heal
- 45:07and and kind of get strength back in that ankle and and hand,
- 45:11respectively. So like which I don't even think
- 45:13we technically. Mentioned, but Freeman is
- 45:15officially a go for game one. So yeah, good news for Dodgers
- 45:19fans. That guy's a gamer.
- 45:20It's literally I think he's only missed games for like the birth
- 45:26of his children. Like that guy doesn't miss games
- 45:31like I pose for sure it. Just shows you how.
- 45:33Confident the Dodgers are for him to sit out a few games
- 45:36during the mid series. But yeah, man, I I can't speak
- 45:47for the Dodgers too. I'm not trying to be negative
- 45:49here, but like there's certain things, you know, I, I mentioned
- 45:52earlier, the Yankees really struggle with running runners in
- 45:54scoring position. They they struggle with runners
- 45:56on in general. They leave a lot of guys on
- 45:58base. Didn't feel defenses.
- 46:02Questionable at times. You have, you know, a slower,
- 46:07somewhat injured Rizzo at first. Glaber led the league in errors.
- 46:11Second, Jazz playing a new position at third.
- 46:16You know, not a ton of arm strength from from Volpi at
- 46:18short. I think Austin Wells, I
- 46:22genuinely think he's one of the best defensive catchers in
- 46:25baseball that doesn't get a whole lot of love for it.
- 46:29But overall, like defense is a question mark, base running is a
- 46:32question mark and the obvious, you know?
- 46:37Strikeout situation. With them as well.
- 46:40So like there's questions there. We've seen the back end of that
- 46:44bullpen blow up. We've seen weird stuff from
- 46:46Garrett Cole this year. We've seen Rodon.
- 46:49You know, I, I don't have a ton of confidence there, if I'm
- 46:51being totally honest. There's a lot of of things there
- 46:56that could happen with the Yankees.
- 47:00Again, I haven't watched the Dodgers daily all year.
- 47:04They, you know, Dodger fans could have certain things that
- 47:09they know of that, you know, could be, you know, it's rearing
- 47:15its head again and you're like, no, please, I don't want to see
- 47:17that again. But you never know this time of
- 47:20year, man, I just I hope for a good, long, strong series, a
- 47:25good performance. I love when certain names you
- 47:29don't expect show up and be that X Factor.
- 47:32But I also love the fact that we have so many stars in this
- 47:35series, and it's almost like one of them is going to have to show
- 47:40up and show out and be the storyline.
- 47:45That's a good jumping. Off point because we got some
- 47:46questions that I want to I want to get into some of some of
- 47:50which are for me. We're going to we're going to
- 47:51start off with I I got some questions for you and we can, we
- 47:54can spit ball back and forth, but a couple of these are are
- 47:58specific to you and, and your, your fandom.
- 48:05And then we got some DMS to follow.
- 48:06So and then after that we got to get into some predictions.
- 48:10So buckle up, all right? All right, my first.
- 48:14Question for you off the top here, Angel show, hey versus
- 48:21Dodger show hey, is this World Series run for, are we seeing a
- 48:30different side of Otani than we've ever seen before?
- 48:36Yeah, in a way, because. Like with him not pitching, it's
- 48:40almost like he gets to entirely focus on hitting and.
- 48:46It's like he's got like a. Another gear that no one knew
- 48:49about. He even.
- 48:53Even off the field, he I think we've seen seems fun like.
- 48:58Backflips and like, flexing and yelling like things we've seen,
- 49:03I mean. We've seen a side of him that
- 49:05we, I, I don't think we've seen before because did you see that
- 49:08clip of him when they were, when they were popping champagne
- 49:11after the LCS and he was like, they had, he was laughing.
- 49:15He was just, he was soaked in champagne.
- 49:18And I think he, I don't know who he was pointing to or, or, or
- 49:23talking to, but he was like, he's like, ha, ha, hey, you're
- 49:27sober And he's just like laughing and just, I mean,
- 49:30champagne everywhere. And I'm like, I just don't know.
- 49:33Well, I, I do know there hasn't been an opportunity for us to
- 49:37really see that from Shohei and I.
- 49:39And I feel like the only real glimpse of, of a Shohei that has
- 49:44those layers peeled back was the World Baseball Classic.
- 49:49And in very, very short since. Yeah.
- 49:53Yeah, it's true. It's really good, man.
- 49:57I like it and and let's face it, like the language barrier aside,
- 50:02like we we just need more of show.
- 50:05Hey, like we end up see, feel and experience more of show.
- 50:08Hey, he needs his own show. Don't be fooled.
- 50:10He that. Man knows more English and he
- 50:12lets on to oh he. Knows Pedro was asking me.
- 50:16That she was. Like so like this kind of like
- 50:18talk during interviews. And I was like, no, And they've
- 50:23said this multiple times. Like there's players that just,
- 50:25they don't want to slip up. They don't want to say something
- 50:28and embarrass themselves and like they don't feel confident
- 50:30enough to talk in front of millions of people, which I
- 50:33totally understand. But she was like, well.
- 50:38When, like, the reporters asked him questions, like, he's
- 50:40nodding, like he's understanding.
- 50:41And I'm like, oh, yeah, he knows.
- 50:43He knows. Yeah.
- 50:45Like. The little.
- 50:46Spanish that I know like I could, I could read street
- 50:49signs, but I'm, I'm not going to I'm not going to sign a contract
- 50:53that's written in Spanish when, when like my life's at stake or
- 50:56something like that. I I understand it from that
- 50:59point of view, but we see him, we see him out out there
- 51:02chatting it up with with guys on base and.
- 51:07That there's more conversations. That are had that I think we we
- 51:10realized. Flipping the coin here.
- 51:16Aaron Judge. Win or lose.
- 51:21How do you think this this World Series just getting to this
- 51:25stage effects will affect his legacy?
- 51:30Win or lose. Win or lose.
- 51:33Just being able to say that he at least got here because I, and
- 51:38I know that I've, I've ribbed you about this for years now,
- 51:42but every time we get to the preseason, it's and we're making
- 51:47our picks and our predictions. I, I'm never really up until
- 51:52this year, I, it's just constantly been like AI don't
- 51:56care really what they did this offseason.
- 51:58I don't care what mentality they're coming in the season
- 52:00with. I just I, I'm paying zero mind
- 52:03to this Yankees team because they've given that their track
- 52:07record has proven us like go back to 2000, we're going back
- 52:11to 2009 the last time this happened.
- 52:14So it it was very much in the realm of possibility that maybe
- 52:18we we did see an Aaron Judge career without an appearance in
- 52:21the World Series. So the fact that he at least got
- 52:23here, albeit was dragged here by by the rest of that upper half
- 52:29of the line up. Drag's a strong word, but sure,
- 52:34carried, carried very heavily. Yeah, there was a lot of dead
- 52:38weight there. Maybe not drag, but he was he
- 52:41was on life support That I mean, it was not not up for debate,
- 52:47but win or lose, just being able to get here, being able to
- 52:51similar to show, hey, like finally being able to to to have
- 52:55a chance to perform on this grand stage.
- 52:57I can't answer that question. Because it's not the same answer
- 52:59for win or lose. Because Yankee legacy.
- 53:03Doesn't matter if you lose. Valid point.
- 53:07Like we love. Don Mattingly But it's almost
- 53:10like a You can't, you can't hate on him too much because he never
- 53:14got there. Now that Judge has gotten here.
- 53:18And if they do lose and he continues to struggle?
- 53:25And then that's how the. That's how the, you know, career
- 53:28ends for him. That's not a good legacy.
- 53:33That's not going to work. I like that answer.
- 53:36If he wins. If if he.
- 53:41Struggles and wins. We forgive the struggle if he
- 53:49wins and dominates. Monument Park number retired
- 53:59like. All that stuff happens.
- 54:01Oh. They're all different answers.
- 54:08So that's my point. That's fair.
- 54:10That's fair. I kind of figured as such, but I
- 54:12just wanted to throw your little curveball there, see how you
- 54:14responded. And I'll I, I will say similar
- 54:17to Judge, similar to Judge, you handled it with grace, handled
- 54:20it like a pro. Thanks.
- 54:22Nate, let's hop in the time. Machine and the and then we'll
- 54:24get into some DMS Hop into The Time Machine with me.
- 54:29Fast forward to next week, the. World Series is over headlines.
- 54:35It was an instant classic. What happened?
- 54:41Who showed out? Who surprised you?
- 54:46What records were broken? How much?
- 54:48Just all of it. Give me the copy to this to this
- 54:54front page story. Oh man, dude, I'm.
- 55:04Just I'm struggling. Oh, I mean, don't.
- 55:09Don't tease your predictions necessarily.
- 55:12What does the headline say? Like, you know, like, what do
- 55:16you mean exactly? It was an instant classic.
- 55:23I think. Instinct Classic means.
- 55:30This World Series puts baseball at the top then and.
- 55:40Puts it as the biggest sport. In, in, in the world.
- 55:43And it's, and I'm not saying forever.
- 55:46I'm not saying for, you know, the rest of the year.
- 55:48I'm not. I think there's going to be, I
- 55:51think this series will have everyone, everyone tapped in.
- 55:59I think it breaks records with. Almost like a unity.
- 56:05And and not. Just brings.
- 56:09Back this sport of baseball, but like effects generations.
- 56:13So it's a super long headline, but I think it is.
- 56:17That's the kind of expectations I have on it.
- 56:20That's fair. I put you on the.
- 56:21Spot there, I understand. I just want to see see how you
- 56:24is there enough room for that headline?
- 56:25Super small file. Yeah, there's there's like.
- 56:28A subtitles there for sure we're going to have to break it up a
- 56:30little bit into pieces, but let's get into some DMS shout
- 56:35out to those of you who sent in questions.
- 56:37We got some good ones on here. We're I think we can hustle
- 56:41through these. We got a got a handful of them,
- 56:43but we still got predictions left too.
- 56:44So I want to be quick, Joe asks. And I just want.
- 56:51To preface this by. Saying some of these questions
- 56:54do touch on predictions at the end and I didn't necessarily
- 57:00leave any questions out or I did, I tried not to leave any
- 57:02questions out. So if there's a little bit of
- 57:05redundancy, we're we'll, we'll, we'll address.
- 57:08It in the prediction. Section at the Joe asks.
- 57:13We all know about the stars and what they provide, but there's
- 57:17always a lesser known guy that performs in big moments.
- 57:20Who do you think that will will be That guy this series?
- 57:23Try to give a guy for each team. Just give a guy a.
- 57:33Guy. We got, we got some X.
- 57:35Factor talk in the prediction segment.
- 57:41I think Louise Heel. Is is is a weapon that not a lot
- 57:47of people know about and I. I truly hope.
- 57:50That Boone and the Yankees utilize him the way he needs to
- 57:54be utilized because that guy is different and when you watch him
- 57:59pitch, that guy is special. So yeah, I, I think that's like
- 58:05a, I think you're going to see some clutch stuff out of him.
- 58:08I don't know in what way, in what capacity, but give me that
- 58:12as like a, wow, I didn't know who that was and now I do.
- 58:17And stop calling him Gil. This very.
- 58:23Very much a cop out of answer, although maybe not as much
- 58:27because. I don't think anybody saw.
- 58:31That this NLCS performance coming, but for me, you know,
- 58:35I've been Tommy Edmond, guys. For a while exactly.
- 58:39And I, I, you can vouch for me on that, like I 100% and, and.
- 58:44The only reason I'm saying. Me is because this is the answer
- 58:46I'm going with, but I, I mean, I've, I've been, I've been a
- 58:49Tommy Edmond guy for some time 100% and I don't.
- 58:53Think like I. Said, I don't think we saw this,
- 58:55this MVP worthy effort coming out of this this past series.
- 59:01And comparatively, yeah, probably a little lesser known
- 59:04than the rest of since then, the rest of that lineup I would
- 59:09imagine. But yeah, I I could see I could
- 59:15see his success last week translating very well in the
- 59:19World Series. Yeah, I like that.
- 59:24Dude, such a good athlete. Such a good athlete.
- 59:30Little off topic question here, but I wanted to include it
- 59:32because I thought it was interesting.
- 59:33Dusty asks. This is kind of irrelevant, but
- 59:35being as it didn't happen but say it had been Yankees, Mets,
- 59:40would there still have been a travel day when the series moves
- 59:44stadium? Good point.
- 59:47I say yes. I say yes.
- 59:49I think that's the the TV standards.
- 59:51Yeah, that's that. Yeah, TV, the league itself, you
- 59:55want. I mean, this is yeah, I mean,
- 59:59that sounds silly, but like this is your Super Bowl, like the
- 1:00:03World Series is like the pinnacle for for Major League
- 1:00:08Baseball and its offices and and personnel and all that.
- 1:00:11So even if they would have been next door, you want to be able
- 1:00:15to milk, milk it out a little bit longer and have those added
- 1:00:18days where you can you can hit the reset button.
- 1:00:21You can get a little bit more media coverage, maybe some more
- 1:00:23sound bites, build up some more stars or storylines.
- 1:00:27Yeah, that. They would be milking that for
- 1:00:29all it's worth for sure, and they would have had fun with.
- 1:00:32That too. The whole Subway Series thing,
- 1:00:34like, oh man, like we talked about it.
- 1:00:38I would have been, I would have been happy at this point with
- 1:00:40either team coming out of the NLCS, going up against the
- 1:00:44Yankees. I think this is better for
- 1:00:45baseball. As a whole.
- 1:00:46But man, that that still would have been fun.
- 1:00:48Sure, that still would have been sweet, RJ.
- 1:00:52Asked when we. And, and he provided a very long
- 1:00:55and thoughtful and thorough commentary beyond the question.
- 1:00:59But the gist was when we reflect back on the most recent Dodgers
- 1:01:03World Series appearances, why do people try to delegitimize a
- 1:01:062020 World Series victory? Which is a good question.
- 1:01:09And I know, I know it gets brought up a lot, but you know,
- 1:01:12the Dodgers are are, are back in the World Series.
- 1:01:16And I think it, it's important to to talk about going into the
- 1:01:21Series because if, if they're unable to, to pull it out
- 1:01:25against the Yankees, it that still becomes relevant.
- 1:01:29If they obviously if they win it, you, you kind of, I don't
- 1:01:33want to say for you, don't forget about the 2020 title.
- 1:01:36But at least they can check the box and say, OK, for those who
- 1:01:40said that was illegitimate, what are you going to say about this
- 1:01:43one? So it it's still, it's still an
- 1:01:46important storyline even four years later.
- 1:01:51It's tough, man, because like I. See both sides of the argument
- 1:01:53like they they got to give out a trophy.
- 1:01:55They it's still everyone still played, everyone still had an
- 1:01:58opportunity. If the Marlins would have won,
- 1:02:01we you know, the Marlins would have would have been so happy
- 1:02:05about that trophy. So but it is difficult because
- 1:02:09like that's so very much not our game.
- 1:02:12It you know, 60 game season is very much not like.
- 1:02:18A little over a 1/3. Of our, of our season.
- 1:02:21And it's just like there's so much that happened, there's so
- 1:02:24much that can happen in 162. There's so much that can change.
- 1:02:28And it's a tough one, man. It's a tough one.
- 1:02:33I I feel bad for the Dodgers because it's like, what?
- 1:02:38Can you do you? Know you're always going to be
- 1:02:41hated on, but at the. Same time, yeah.
- 1:02:44I can see why people feel that way.
- 1:02:46I personally think it counts. I'd be happy with it.
- 1:02:53But yeah, understood, Understood.
- 1:03:01John asked why are the why are there headlines and banners
- 1:03:04touting Judge versus Otani as if this is a tennis match?
- 1:03:10Well, John, and I mean, this is genuinely as I can, we're
- 1:03:17talking about pretty much the undisputed best two players in
- 1:03:23baseball. Yeah, at this.
- 1:03:25Current. Moment in time.
- 1:03:27So naturally, you know, you're going to want to promote those
- 1:03:34guys. You're going to want to, you're
- 1:03:35going to want to, and, and I'm not trying to be, I'm not trying
- 1:03:37to be a little smart Alec here, but you know, like it.
- 1:03:43I, I just, I'm going to need people to understand from like a
- 1:03:46media perspective, from a, a business, a money perspective.
- 1:03:51This, this is just what you have to do.
- 1:03:54Even if, even if you're tired of it as say, like a media outlet,
- 1:03:58you're like, all right, how many more articles are we going to
- 1:04:00write with, with judge being the, the, the face of the
- 1:04:03article? It's like, it's just kind of
- 1:04:06what you got to do at this point.
- 1:04:07Because with the like we talked about with a series of this
- 1:04:11magnitude, nobody's interested necessarily.
- 1:04:14Maybe maybe some folks are, but the, the vast majority of people
- 1:04:18are not interested in reading about your 8 and 9 hitters
- 1:04:23coming into this, this series. It it's just, it's kind of, you
- 1:04:28know, a basic understanding of how these things work.
- 1:04:33Like like we said last. Episode this just it never
- 1:04:36happens. It never lays out this way, like
- 1:04:40we never get it. You've mentioned before, never
- 1:04:41had two guys from, you know, opposing leagues facing each
- 1:04:46other that are hit over 50 home runs in a season like 2 MVPS.
- 1:04:50Like it's we just don't get these.
- 1:04:53We just don't get these. There's a reason why
- 1:04:56heavyweight, you know, boxing matches, there's only, you know,
- 1:05:01a handful that really resonate with you.
- 1:05:04There's a reason why UFC cards, you know, you can let some
- 1:05:07Saturdays slide and sometimes you just got to watch.
- 1:05:09Like, not all of them are created equal.
- 1:05:12Not our World Series matchups are created equal.
- 1:05:15This is this is big time. This is again, top two players
- 1:05:20on the planet. But I I the tennis match thing
- 1:05:26is, yeah, that's probably pretty accurate description of of the
- 1:05:31poster. It's fair, Fair.
- 1:05:34Question, Luther asked lifetime Los Angeles Dodgers fans.
- 1:05:38But I have mixed feelings about Dave Roberts.
- 1:05:40He makes a lot of questionable calls.
- 1:05:42What is your guys take on Roberts?
- 1:05:45Yeah, man, we've mentioned it. Before, I think he's actually
- 1:05:48done really well this postseason compared to last postseason's
- 1:05:52obvious reasons, you know, getting here, but.
- 1:05:57I I see. Both him and Boone is just very
- 1:06:00similar. Similar guys, you know, two
- 1:06:04managers that make questionable calls and a lot of ridicule.
- 1:06:16I don't think he's the greatest. Manager.
- 1:06:20Ever. I think this is more of a
- 1:06:25product of the roster then of Dave Roberts doing.
- 1:06:33Managerial decisions to. Get them here.
- 1:06:36I mean, we can see the amount of runs they put up against the
- 1:06:42Mets that it's, you know, there's only so much keeping
- 1:06:45this line up down that you can do.
- 1:06:48And there's not much else other than just writing it in ink and
- 1:06:53taping that to the wall that, you know, Dave Roberts does.
- 1:06:56But there are some big decisions of, you know, certain matchups
- 1:06:59and going to the pen at certain moments.
- 1:07:03I think that's a big factor of this World Series.
- 1:07:05I think you're going to see one or two of these, potentially
- 1:07:09both managers making some questionable calls that are
- 1:07:13going to be maybe backlash or maybe brought up afterwards
- 1:07:18because that's what they're both known for.
- 1:07:22I don't know. You can speak to him a little.
- 1:07:24Bit better. I feel like you have that Red
- 1:07:26Sox connection. I know it's way back when but
- 1:07:29like sure you have AI. Think you have a soft?
- 1:07:31Spot for him, but like no, I mean it's what I've.
- 1:07:34Always said about Dave Roberts and it you talk about him being
- 1:07:38on the hot seat for what seems like years at this point.
- 1:07:40And my my take has always been the same.
- 1:07:42Like, sure, maybe he listens to upstairs maybe a little too much
- 1:07:47at times, but at the end of the day, I, I would just, I would
- 1:07:53caution Dodgers fans to be careful what you wish for,
- 1:07:55because I, I would venture to say that there's a lot of
- 1:07:58franchises out there that would love to have Dave Roberts
- 1:08:01sitting in the manager's seat. So, I mean, you, you can pick
- 1:08:06apart specific decisions all you want, but it's just hard for me
- 1:08:11to really. And, and yeah, I, I do
- 1:08:14understand that a lot of it is, is based on the talent there in
- 1:08:17the, in the the roster construction for sure.
- 1:08:20But like I, I I. Don't I just have a really hard
- 1:08:24time? Sitting there and and and and
- 1:08:28saying that Dave Roberts is actively holding this team back.
- 1:08:33Yeah. Yeah, I would agree.
- 1:08:35It's just tough. It's tough, maybe.
- 1:08:37Maybe Dodgers fans feel differently, but like I said, I
- 1:08:40just think a lot of teams would be over the moon to have a guy
- 1:08:44like Dave Roberts, that's all. We sort of touched on this a
- 1:08:49little bit earlier. Joe asked why is Boone staying
- 1:08:52with Wells in the cleanup spot? Enough is enough already, yeah.
- 1:08:56A valid. Point, I mean, you know, we saw
- 1:08:58it towards the end of the series that Stanton was in the four
- 1:09:00spot for a little while. They brought Wells down in
- 1:09:04lineup. I think he hit like I want to
- 1:09:07say like 7th or 8th and he actually hit a home run.
- 1:09:11I mean, it's there's a stubbornness about Boone.
- 1:09:14There's a stubbornness about sticking with his guys.
- 1:09:18There's a there's a lack or maybe a reluctance of change at
- 1:09:23times. You did see Trevi Trevino get
- 1:09:28into one of those games as well, or almost, you know, give him a
- 1:09:33little bit of a break. But it's, I think it's, it's
- 1:09:36that alongside the fact that like no one's out, like outside
- 1:09:40of Stanton, no one's really stepped up to be that guy
- 1:09:44specifically amongst the lefties, you know, Rizzo,
- 1:09:47Verdugo, Jazz, like none of those guys have been like all
- 1:09:50take this and I'll give you the no brainer.
- 1:09:53Right, left, right, left. And, you know, continuing to
- 1:09:57give Wells a shot 'cause he did do well, you know, the last
- 1:10:01month or so in that spot. But yeah, that's just
- 1:10:05stubbornness. That's one of the things, man.
- 1:10:07It's just like that. That's my question mark
- 1:10:10specifically with Boone. Is that like, are you, are you
- 1:10:14going to give opportunity to Wells?
- 1:10:16And like, when do you draw the line?
- 1:10:17Same with Verdugo, you know, is there a point where you can say,
- 1:10:23let's give Jason Dominguez a shot because Verdugo struggled?
- 1:10:26Luckily, Verdugo's looked pretty good and he's played really good
- 1:10:29defense. So like, that question mark
- 1:10:31hasn't really come up, but it could.
- 1:10:33So it's just stubbornness. That's all it is.
- 1:10:38It's Boone Bing Boon similar to our our last DM.
- 1:10:43You know, mixed emotions. Die hard fan, but mixed emotions
- 1:10:46for your manager. I miss the days of of Mr. T.
- 1:10:53Dennis facetiously. Asked Will you slob show Haze
- 1:10:56Knob the entire preview episode? Wow, wow.
- 1:11:01I, I don't think we talked about him that much.
- 1:11:03I feel like we've we've handled. It pretty well think we've
- 1:11:05bounced around quite a bit. I'd I'd give ourselves.
- 1:11:11In terms of the amount of slob I'd I'd give ourselves, I'd give
- 1:11:20ourselves AB plus, yeah. I don't think.
- 1:11:24We're over the top. With with the I mean we still
- 1:11:27got predictions, but if he comes out for.
- 1:11:29Like till I close the game, I. That's going to be nuts though.
- 1:11:33He's going to break the Internet.
- 1:11:34I. Know.
- 1:11:36I really hope that doesn't happen.
- 1:11:39I kind of do, but I kind of. Could you imagine?
- 1:11:43Could you imagine? Game 70 and he's closing down
- 1:11:47the. Game Shohei Otani comes through.
- 1:11:49The the the outfield doors. I don't want that.
- 1:11:57I don't want that. I can't.
- 1:11:59Could you? Imagine.
- 1:12:02And it would be in LA, too. It's almost like Major League
- 1:12:06Baseball's been thinking about this for some time.
- 1:12:09Maybe it's in the script. We'll see.
- 1:12:11Maybe. George.
- 1:12:13Asks who needs to have the bigger, the biggest impact in
- 1:12:17order for their team to win outside of each team's big
- 1:12:19three? I think we'll sort of touch on
- 1:12:21that a little bit with the the predictions.
- 1:12:23So we'll, we'll hold that aside. Tom asks, can they both lose?
- 1:12:31Fair question. Tom, I, I think a lot of people
- 1:12:33are asking that same question, but you know, Tom I all I would
- 1:12:37ask is, you know, if that's how you really feel, which is you're
- 1:12:41more than more than welcome to feel that way.
- 1:12:43Just still try to watch. Just watch.
- 1:12:45Don't be, don't be one of the people that's like, I want both
- 1:12:47teams to lose and by the way, I'm not watching a single minute
- 1:12:50of it. We did a whole spiel on that
- 1:12:52last episode. I agree and and did.
- 1:12:54What we could to. Convince folks to to spend spend
- 1:12:58time. It'll be worth their while,
- 1:13:02worth their while to to watch this series.
- 1:13:03And I think so. I firmly believe that, Murray
- 1:13:07asked you. Do you guys have superstitions
- 1:13:09while watching your team play during the playoffs?
- 1:13:12I wouldn't know. It's been missed it 5 out of the
- 1:13:18last six years. So I don't know.
- 1:13:20It's it's, it's a little rusty there, so maybe I'm not the best
- 1:13:24person to ask. I don't wear red when the
- 1:13:28Yankees play. Nothing red.
- 1:13:31No articles of clothing that are red.
- 1:13:34Not like I have a ton of red stuff.
- 1:13:37I do have like a rotation of like 7 or 8 pairs of underwear
- 1:13:42that I prefer over my other pairs of underwear, one of which
- 1:13:45is red. I'm not wearing it right now.
- 1:13:50I. Think I wore it yesterday.
- 1:13:51I think I wore that yesterday so that I it would be nice and not
- 1:13:57in the drawer. You know what I mean, Smart.
- 1:13:59That's. I think that's my.
- 1:14:01Only. My only thing like obviously
- 1:14:05I'm. Wearing something, you know,
- 1:14:07like a jersey or a hat, I'll. Probably wear.
- 1:14:13Something different after a loss.
- 1:14:18But yeah. Overall that's that's nothing
- 1:14:21like weird superstitious wise. That's fair.
- 1:14:30Like I. Said I'm the wrong person to ask
- 1:14:31that that's. Post season superstitions
- 1:14:34aren't. Even on my mind at this point,
- 1:14:36I've kind of forgotten anything that I do.
- 1:14:39I mean, you go back to like I mentioned, you go back to 2018,
- 1:14:41I guess you could say like. I really love.
- 1:14:46You know, using that as like an excuse to, to treat yourself
- 1:14:49during the week 'cause I'm like, life is good.
- 1:14:52We're in the World Series. So I'm going to, I'm going to
- 1:14:54get some take out. I'm going to bring it back.
- 1:14:57I'm stoked. I'm really stoked for.
- 1:14:59Friday, I'm really stoked. Like I don't even know like the
- 1:15:03food is going to be I'm just going to be chilling.
- 1:15:05It's going to be silent. It's going to be, you know, like
- 1:15:09I might have to do a couple Wi-Fi checks before just make
- 1:15:12sure I got the I had. I do have the iPad like close by
- 1:15:16in case the TV, you know, gives any issues.
- 1:15:19Like there's things, there's things that I'm going to fall
- 1:15:21back on. Are you giving?
- 1:15:23Are? Are you like?
- 1:15:24Is Paige having like a girls night or something?
- 1:15:26Like are TV watch no. Our T VS been weird man like it
- 1:15:30keeps messing with the volume. No, no, no, I'm saying.
- 1:15:33Is Paige having a girls night? Like, is she going to be are are
- 1:15:36you like basically kicking her to the curb for this?
- 1:15:38No, no, no, she can she. Yeah, she.
- 1:15:40Can be here. She'll be here.
- 1:15:41She's part of the part of the deal, OK?
- 1:15:43All out. Yeah, I just didn't know like
- 1:15:45how how I'm just like secluded you.
- 1:15:48I really am a misery. After they lose though, like I,
- 1:15:51I do feel for her if that's the case.
- 1:15:54I mean I I. Feel it just in like texting you
- 1:15:57after big losses. I can't imagine, like actually
- 1:15:59being there. That's Oh yeah, that's.
- 1:16:01Tough our pillows. You know our.
- 1:16:03Pillows on the couch really do take a beating.
- 1:16:07During during tough. Pillows in the game, is this the
- 1:16:11pillows just keep? It at the Pillows, Nate, that's
- 1:16:13all I ask. Spencer asks.
- 1:16:16It's a great question. And then we'll get into
- 1:16:17predictions. Which franchise needs this World
- 1:16:22Series more? And it's it.
- 1:16:28This is such. A good question because you
- 1:16:31could make an extremely strong case for either team.
- 1:16:35You really could the. Dodgers need this.
- 1:16:38World Series to justify their winning ways and to maybe
- 1:16:42validate their 2020 title a little bit more.
- 1:16:47And the Yankees need this, because how long has it been, 15
- 1:16:52years? I mean, I feel like.
- 1:16:58You should probably answer this question.
- 1:17:00I'm I'm going to say Yanks, the Yanks.
- 1:17:04We need this man. Like I, I need this personally.
- 1:17:06We need this. We really, really like.
- 1:17:11I won't be. Well, at least if you're in LA,
- 1:17:14you're like, we lost. Oh no, I have beautiful weather
- 1:17:18and the beach. I'm going to go, you know, be
- 1:17:22sad on the beach. Like, what do we got?
- 1:17:25You know, jokes aside, jokes aside.
- 1:17:29At least. All in the field like sure.
- 1:17:30They get the weather and all that, but for that franchise,
- 1:17:35you. You would like to imagine.
- 1:17:36That this window is just nowhere.
- 1:17:40Close to being. Like over closed.
- 1:17:45So you'll still have a chance to.
- 1:17:46Validate that that 2020 World Series and to get back to your
- 1:17:50your World Series winning ways, the Yankees you don't know.
- 1:17:54There's a guy by the name of Juan.
- 1:17:55Soto, who may or may not be there next year, so you could
- 1:17:59look at this as maybe your only shot until another 15 years down
- 1:18:05the road where maybe you get back in.
- 1:18:10You're just putting so many. Things in my head, it's sucks.
- 1:18:13You're going to be. Let's do the math. 15 years from
- 1:18:15now, you'll. Be 46. 46 Yep.
- 1:18:24Good luck buddy, you better. Hope they do it this year.
- 1:18:28I'm just going to go ahead and put that out there in the
- 1:18:30universe. If, if they don't do it this
- 1:18:32year, just buckle up for another 15.
- 1:18:34Buckle up for. A brutal episode with your boy.
- 1:18:39I can't wait. Jeff asked MVP predictions,
- 1:18:43which is the perfect segue into our final little segment here.
- 1:18:47Let's get into some predictions here.
- 1:18:49Nate, We sort of have have touched on this.
- 1:18:55But we're going to, we're going to get our official.
- 1:18:56Picks in If the Dodgers win the World Series, The X Factor will
- 1:19:00have been. I'll say Flaherty, I think he's
- 1:19:21he's got a really show up, show out.
- 1:19:27The bats are going to do what they do.
- 1:19:30I. Think you expect that?
- 1:19:31I think. You see that coming?
- 1:19:34But I think it again. Like I keep going to that that
- 1:19:38mid series start that plays such a huge role.
- 1:19:44And I think if if the. Dodgers win, he would be the
- 1:19:47reason. Not MVP, we're saying X.
- 1:19:53Factor, right, X Factor, yeah. Yeah, I'll say, I'll say.
- 1:19:57Flaherty I I sort of already gave my.
- 1:19:59Pick earlier, but Tommy Edmond, I think, I think if if that's
- 1:20:03yet another guy that you can, you can.
- 1:20:07Squeeze. A little bit of juice out of for
- 1:20:09this final week of games, yeah. Add that to to the.
- 1:20:15Mix of what they've already got going on there in that top half
- 1:20:19that's that'll be that'd be huge for them and.
- 1:20:23Not not to mention just I. Mean, just looking at the vibes,
- 1:20:26like if you, if you got a guy who is fresh off an NLCSMVP and
- 1:20:30and he just picks right back up where he left off, that's huge,
- 1:20:33especially for establishing momentum early in the series at
- 1:20:36home. That's that would be, that'd be
- 1:20:39a huge boost, yeah, to that team.
- 1:20:43The Yankees win the World Series.
- 1:20:44The X Factor will have been. I'm I'm going to say jazz.
- 1:20:55Chisholm, I think it's. Because of what?
- 1:20:59He can do on the bases speed, you know.
- 1:21:03Occasional pop. I'm actually pretty impressed
- 1:21:08with how he's done at third base.
- 1:21:11Just picking up and. Doing it and playing pretty
- 1:21:14well. Yeah.
- 1:21:15There's been a couple tough plays, but like, overall the
- 1:21:17guys at Cannon. So yeah, give me, give me Jazz
- 1:21:21with like, you know, some potential pop, some big play of,
- 1:21:26you know, scoring from first in the gap and maybe a couple
- 1:21:29swipes. Like, he brings a lot of
- 1:21:32athleticism that just we haven't gotten a chance to see because
- 1:21:35he's not doing anything offensively.
- 1:21:39So yeah, I think he would be an. X Factor I'm going to go.
- 1:21:43Carlos Rodon. For for reasons we talked about
- 1:21:46earlier, you would you would like to think as a Yankee fan,
- 1:21:50you would hope that Garrett Cole is just going to give you what
- 1:21:53he is capable of giving you. But as I mentioned, you were
- 1:21:57Carlos Rodon is going to be Next up in line in terms of
- 1:21:59importance of giving you length to take the burden off of.
- 1:22:04Yeah. Off of that, pen it because.
- 1:22:06You also have to take into account that like Cole is going
- 1:22:10to get more opportunities there given, given the, the structure
- 1:22:15of the schedule and, and rest days and all that.
- 1:22:17So if you're Carlos Rodon, you got, you're going to have to
- 1:22:20maximize your opportunities here the, the, the stints that you do
- 1:22:23get, the, the starts that you get and and possibly some weird
- 1:22:27relief appearance late in the series if it gets that far.
- 1:22:30So that's that's going to be big from him.
- 1:22:33He's going to have to keep his tongue in his mouth.
- 1:22:35Yeah, he's got to keep. His emotions in check for sure
- 1:22:38and just suit up and. Just pitch.
- 1:22:41That's what he has to do. All right, you're winning team.
- 1:22:48And then how many games? I'm going Yanks in seven.
- 1:23:00I think the pitching will be the difference.
- 1:23:06I think it it is going to find a way to neutralize this offense
- 1:23:12just a little bit. I'm not saying Dodgers going to
- 1:23:14be held down by any means, but I I do think the Yankees pitching
- 1:23:19is going to find a way to make this.
- 1:23:23Obtainable. For the Yanks and.
- 1:23:28I think Judge is a. Big reason for it.
- 1:23:31I think there's this reset that he's able to hit here.
- 1:23:35I think there's this calmness that he's going to be able to
- 1:23:37say, hey, we're here and let's send it and.
- 1:23:44Give give me Yanks and. Seven with Judge hoisting the
- 1:23:47MVP trophy. Oh, you're skipping right ahead
- 1:23:51to the. MVP You're you said you're
- 1:23:53giving it to Judge. Yep.
- 1:23:56All right, all right. Well, that's nice.
- 1:24:00I I. Look, I know I just got done.
- 1:24:03Talking about, you know, like well, earlier in the episode I
- 1:24:06got talking about like, well, is this an opportunity for judge
- 1:24:08hit the reset button? Is he going to is he going to
- 1:24:10get back to to to judgey in ways?
- 1:24:14The answer is no. And I know I just got done
- 1:24:16talking about Carlos Rodan needing to just like really show
- 1:24:20up. Don't think that's going to
- 1:24:21happen. So for a couple of those and and
- 1:24:25additional reasons, I'm going to go Dodgers in six.
- 1:24:34I think the Dodgers proved. That or I I think by throwing
- 1:24:40multiple bullpens and bullpen games and having success with
- 1:24:44that it it lessens the concern for me on just how.
- 1:24:53Effective the starters. Need to be, although it doesn't
- 1:24:55take away to completely I I do I do want to reiterate like the
- 1:24:58the starting pitching for the Dodgers has to be as good as
- 1:25:03they can be and give you whatever length that they can
- 1:25:05give you. I don't I don't know what that's
- 1:25:07going to look like. I'm I'm worried they're a little
- 1:25:09bit on the innings, but because they were able to to go with
- 1:25:14what turned out to be like regularly scheduled bullpen
- 1:25:18games against some some tougher opponents will say I'm just I'm
- 1:25:26not all that worried on that side of the ball And I'm I don't
- 1:25:30need to repeat myself on what that offense is capable of
- 1:25:33doing. So I'm going Dodgers and six, my
- 1:25:34MVP is going to be. Teoscar Hernandez.
- 1:25:42Yeah, I like that. I can see that.
- 1:25:46The dude's a stud. I'm so nervous I'm.
- 1:25:52So nervous. My last.
- 1:25:55My last. Question here for you.
- 1:25:59Yeah. Bigger picture.
- 1:26:01Bigger picture bigger prediction bigger picture prediction here
- 1:26:05this World Series will go down as a top blank World Series in
- 1:26:13the last 25 years. Just take it.
- 1:26:17Take it back to. 2000 top three. Yeah, fire me up.
- 1:26:25I I love it. Top three.
- 1:26:27I don't know how. People are are struggling to get
- 1:26:30excited about this World Series. I don't have a dog in a fight
- 1:26:33and I'm ready for it. It's going to be good, man.
- 1:26:36It's going to be really, really good if you if you get full
- 1:26:40blown Yanks and you get full blown Dodgers.
- 1:26:43They have. They've shown throughout the
- 1:26:45year that these are two heavyweights that belong where
- 1:26:49they're at. And it's just about.
- 1:26:53All of execution and then all the cards being shown on the
- 1:26:57table man. I'm so nervous.
- 1:27:01I'm so nervous. Love that.
- 1:27:03Well on that. Note let's let's wrap it up
- 1:27:07there. This is good.
- 1:27:11Looking forward. To it lock.
- 1:27:12It in, folks, this is the last baseball you're going to get.
- 1:27:16Hate them or love them? I would hope that your love for.
- 1:27:20Baseball transcends whoever's in the World Series.
- 1:27:22So lock it in because you love this game.
- 1:27:26Lock it in because we're going to be witnessing some
- 1:27:29star-studded baseball and lock it in because we we told you so.
- 1:27:38For all those listening. Watching as well.
- 1:27:42As Aaron Judge. Don't go chasing curveballs, we
- 1:27:46love you all. And as always, looking forward
- 1:27:47to talking more baseball with you guys soon.
- 1:27:49Until next time, stay filthy.
