- 0:10Speaker 1: I go by the name of Ferrari Simers.
- 0:11Speaker 3: I go by the name you know, Beat, new face
- 0:13Speaker 3: DJ cast, got tailor the building.
- 0:17Speaker 4: What's up, guys, amazing, it just happened.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Man for the for the for the folks.
- 0:22Speaker 2: That's like, who the hell are these guys and why
- 0:25Speaker 2: are we here? We just beat and I wanted to
- 0:27Speaker 2: have or a conversation about Atlanta, the culture, the culture,
- 0:33Speaker 2: the nightlife. You guys are all in three different lanes,
- 0:37Speaker 2: and I wanted to make sure we had someone that
- 0:39Speaker 2: could represent each lane properly perfect.
- 0:41Speaker 5: I'm honored because I'm a fan.
- 0:43Speaker 2: Please just quickly, quickly introduce yourself and give us a
- 0:45Speaker 2: little quick you know what I'm saying, Uh, run down
- 0:48Speaker 2: to who you are.
- 0:49Speaker 1: I'm a new face Atlanta's culture historian.
- 0:51Speaker 5: I would always used to say hip hop order and
- 0:54Speaker 5: people were like, nah, you much more than that. You know,
- 0:56Speaker 5: you're collecting the culture of Atlanta, but not just Atlanta,
- 1:00Speaker 5: just the South, but hip hop in general. But because
- 1:02Speaker 5: I'm you know, a line of adopted me. I'm born
- 1:04Speaker 5: and raised out of Detroit, so you know.
- 1:06Speaker 1: I've been shot out of Detroit. Yeah you know what up.
- 1:08Speaker 5: Though, So it's like they adopted me and I can't.
- 1:11Speaker 5: My love is with this city because they embraced me
- 1:13Speaker 5: from day one. I'm talking about freak nick, trap music,
- 1:17Speaker 5: crunk music. I've been here since the genre all these
- 1:20Speaker 5: music started, and I've seen all these artists evolved from
- 1:22Speaker 5: a Scottie atlor, from the careers of all these gentlemen
- 1:25Speaker 5: at this table and our peers amongst us. So I
- 1:28Speaker 5: just been celebrating, and I love progression and evolution, and
- 1:31Speaker 5: so to see my brothers had this platform and see
- 1:33Speaker 5: where they started out from radio to everything from grills
- 1:36Speaker 5: to shows and everything. I'm just here to clap, But
- 1:39Speaker 5: relationships come with that, you know what I'm saying. So
- 1:42Speaker 5: that's what that's what I do, is celebrate, you know,
- 1:44Speaker 5: people that look like us, you know what I'm saying.
- 1:45Speaker 5: They had us in museums, going to art shows and
- 1:48Speaker 5: people celebrating rem Brandts and van Golds, and they didn't
- 1:51Speaker 5: look they wouldn't like didn't look like me, you know
- 1:53Speaker 5: what I'm saying. So now I'm able to clap and
- 1:55Speaker 5: show people a platform that ain't able to go to
- 1:57Speaker 5: events like I'm here and let me show you what
- 1:59Speaker 5: y'all missing and hope flee you at the next one.
- 2:02Speaker 6: Nice new face DJ Cas DJ Cash aka Big Bomber
- 2:06Speaker 6: aka the Fly Haitian Kid DJ on the radio and
- 2:09Speaker 6: every popping club for the last twenty years here in Georgia,
- 2:13Speaker 6: originally from New York Brooklyn to be I'm not from
- 2:17Speaker 6: New York.
- 2:17Speaker 4: I'm from Brooklyn.
- 2:20Speaker 1: Man, I'm winning Nick. That not Atlanta type thing. Oh man,
- 2:26Speaker 1: they're both disappointed. It doesn't matter.
- 2:30Speaker 6: But yeah, it's been in the night life and tearing
- 2:34Speaker 6: down clubs and radio for the last twenty something like
- 2:37Speaker 6: about twenty years in Atlanta.
- 2:39Speaker 1: So yeah, Atlanta's home now.
- 2:41Speaker 2: One of the only DJs that I knew this for
- 2:43Speaker 2: a fact. Quick, this is gonna be quick. DJ Cash
- 2:46Speaker 2: was one of the only DJs that allowed me to
- 2:49Speaker 2: host with him. I'm talking about Cash at the time
- 2:52Speaker 2: when Cash was DJ. You still are DJ Cash, but
- 2:56Speaker 2: I'm talking about Atlanta just had the clubs and there
- 2:59Speaker 2: was no lounges, was none of that. You had to
- 3:01Speaker 2: go to the big clubs. He only allowed me to
- 3:04Speaker 2: host for him, all right, that's a big thing.
- 3:06Speaker 1: That's because I don't he don't like I do not
- 3:09Speaker 1: like hosts. I was never I never was like quiet
- 3:12Speaker 1: about that. I don't like hosts.
- 3:13Speaker 4: I'm not the kind of DJ that works well with
- 3:15Speaker 4: others when it comes.
- 3:16Speaker 1: To don't like. So I'm like, yeah, it was very rare.
- 3:25Speaker 2: But see I used to let him rock too, and
- 3:27Speaker 2: then he'll let me give my little pocket and then
- 3:30Speaker 2: I just shut up because I know he gotta get off.
- 3:32Speaker 1: You ain't his control doing this. I'm not doing that's
- 3:38Speaker 1: my boy.
- 3:39Speaker 2: So I knew to not be next to him because
- 3:41Speaker 2: you want to have this space and he gonna talk
- 3:44Speaker 2: over the lines I'm gonna talk, So I would say, Okay,
- 3:46Speaker 2: let me find my pocket.
- 3:47Speaker 7: But a lot of DJs who are good at talking,
- 3:49Speaker 7: they they they don't need they don't need that.
- 3:52Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying.
- 3:53Speaker 6: This is science to it though, right, So because I'm Caribbean.
- 3:55Speaker 6: In the Caribbean, there is a duo, right But like
- 3:59Speaker 6: the MC and the what we call the selector, the
- 4:02Speaker 6: DJ is like in sync so it's never imprompt too.
- 4:07Speaker 6: Like you you can't give a good performance. You never
- 4:10Speaker 6: perform with a guy.
- 4:10Speaker 1: You just get on stage and be like, y'all kill
- 4:12Speaker 1: this crowd.
- 4:13Speaker 4: How you don't know how he plays, you don't know
- 4:15Speaker 4: how he hosts.
- 4:16Speaker 6: So like there used to be like people used to
- 4:19Speaker 6: literally DJ parties on parties together, like a host used
- 4:22Speaker 6: to work with a specific DJ.
- 4:23Speaker 4: You know his style, you know what the direction he's
- 4:26Speaker 4: about to go.
- 4:27Speaker 1: You know how to intro a record.
- 4:28Speaker 6: So my thing was always like, how he just gonna
- 4:31Speaker 6: you know what I mean, It's just like taking a
- 4:33Speaker 6: rapper and a DJ for the first time ever linking
- 4:35Speaker 6: up and be like, y'all do a show together.
- 4:39Speaker 1: It ain't gonna sound good. You know what I'm saying.
- 4:41Speaker 4: It ain't gonna it ain't gonna it ain't gonna work
- 4:42Speaker 4: out the way you think.
- 4:43Speaker 1: So that was just always my.
- 4:44Speaker 8: DJ Cash What's at Scotty at l Man east Side represented.
- 4:50Speaker 1: You to be exact.
- 4:53Speaker 8: On the grills, they still oh you still company, hey,
- 5:03Speaker 8: little though our own grills by Scottie show. We're here
- 5:07Speaker 8: in Atlanta.
- 5:08Speaker 2: Stop right there, bro, Come on, man, I give you
- 5:10Speaker 2: flowers like name some people who have came to you
- 5:13Speaker 2: for grills.
- 5:14Speaker 8: Meghanie Stallion, New Face, Glowrilla, Eastern Ray, some Walker, Big
- 5:23Speaker 8: Boy t I, the Hall.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Didn't Easter Ray Fly you to Europe.
- 5:27Speaker 8: Esentially, she didn't fly me there. I flew there. Why
- 5:32Speaker 8: make sure she got her grills on time. That's flew
- 5:38Speaker 8: took a boat all that. So we're in Atlanta. We're
- 5:41Speaker 8: also on the West coast in l A. My first
- 5:44Speaker 8: store in l A was on Mail Rose and I
- 5:47Speaker 8: also have a TV show called Lave on Edgewood. We're
- 5:51Speaker 8: eighty five South.
- 5:52Speaker 1: It's my boy man.
- 5:53Speaker 3: Just so you know, my wife grew up with him
- 5:55Speaker 3: as well.
- 5:56Speaker 2: So my wife know him like Scottie Slick family to Okay,
- 6:00Speaker 2: she from.
- 6:02Speaker 5: And I text him pictures like day, like this is
- 6:04Speaker 5: me and you nine years ago, eight years ago, five
- 6:07Speaker 5: years ago.
- 6:07Speaker 4: Like look three years ago we was together and were
- 6:09Speaker 4: back together eight years.
- 6:10Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying the whole time.
- 6:13Speaker 2: Now, let me give my boy his flowers because he
- 6:14Speaker 2: does the R and B party. See, everybody in here
- 6:17Speaker 2: does different things. So BT does the R and B party,
- 6:20Speaker 2: and I wanted to have you guys here because it's
- 6:23Speaker 2: different parties.
- 6:24Speaker 4: Now.
- 6:24Speaker 3: Before it used to be just a club in Atlanta.
- 6:28Speaker 3: You go to the club, and.
- 6:30Speaker 2: In the club it was either trapped out and then
- 6:32Speaker 2: you had like segments in the stuff a little bit
- 6:35Speaker 2: of R and B or they do this or that, but.
- 6:37Speaker 1: They'll play a little Afro beat here and there.
- 6:40Speaker 2: Now that ship is separated, and I'm starting to see
- 6:44Speaker 2: it in other places too. So you got parties in Houston,
- 6:47Speaker 2: you got R and B parties in New York, but
- 6:51Speaker 2: what you're doing is completely different.
- 6:53Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:53Speaker 6: So, like I was just telling Scott what the name
- 6:56Speaker 6: of this, It's called Bomba Tuesdays, So Bamba Tuesday's. I
- 6:59Speaker 6: started almost three years ago, and it's like it features
- 7:03Speaker 6: a genre called I'm a Piano. So the crazy thing
- 7:07Speaker 6: is like Atlanta has done it again.
- 7:09Speaker 1: Like Atlanta is a super special place, like people don't understand.
- 7:12Speaker 6: So like I'm a Piano is it's a genre like
- 7:15Speaker 6: of African dance music started in South Africa.
- 7:18Speaker 1: And everywhere you go, like you'll hear it.
- 7:20Speaker 6: You go to France, you go to Australia, you go
- 7:23Speaker 6: to Portugal. It's everywhere and it's on fire. But the States,
- 7:27Speaker 6: and Atlanta is one of the few states that like
- 7:30Speaker 6: is like.
- 7:30Speaker 1: Leading the charge in it, you.
- 7:31Speaker 7: Know what I mean.
- 7:32Speaker 6: And it's like the only place where you could go.
- 7:34Speaker 6: Like for instance, last night I had my birthday party.
- 7:36Speaker 6: I had John Legend Birthday, Thank you my brother Birthday.
- 7:40Speaker 6: I had John Legend, I had Jadenna, DJ Spinol, I
- 7:45Speaker 6: had Polo to Done, I had d Smoke, I had
- 7:48Speaker 6: the veto all their party into.
- 7:50Speaker 1: I'm a Piano And it's like.
- 7:52Speaker 2: Crazy, you know, that's crazy in Atlanta actual birthday, and
- 7:58Speaker 2: like that's another thing, like.
- 8:01Speaker 6: Like I might be jumping ahead, but like they say,
- 8:03Speaker 6: the night life in Atlanta is dead. I just think
- 8:05Speaker 6: it's just pivoting, you know what I'm saying, because now
- 8:09Speaker 6: it's maybe it may be dead as we know it.
- 8:11Speaker 6: The gigantic clubs and the ten thousand dollars sections is
- 8:15Speaker 6: just pivoting because Atlanta is leading a charge in a
- 8:18Speaker 6: big way under everybody's noses. Like with this genre, because
- 8:22Speaker 6: when you tell to talk to people from South Africa,
- 8:24Speaker 6: there's a girl named Uncle Waffles. She's like one of
- 8:26Speaker 6: the biggest DJs out of South Africa for this genre,
- 8:30Speaker 6: and they acts her two different times a year apart
- 8:33Speaker 6: they said where in the world, because she travels the
- 8:35Speaker 6: world playing I'm a Piano, So she said, they asked
- 8:37Speaker 6: her where in the world is more like the most
- 8:41Speaker 6: like that resembles, you know, South Africa. The most she said,
- 8:44Speaker 6: Atlanta both times a year apart. And it's like, to me,
- 8:48Speaker 6: it's so crazy that so much people don't even know
- 8:50Speaker 6: that Atlanta's leading the charge in something like this, Like
- 8:53Speaker 6: all over the world is doing this, but Atlanta is
- 8:55Speaker 6: just sticking out so much.
- 8:57Speaker 4: It's so crazy to me. So like, I don't think
- 8:59Speaker 4: like the scene is dead.
- 9:00Speaker 6: Is just like pivoting to something different that a lot
- 9:02Speaker 6: of people haven't seen it yet and don't understand it yet.
- 9:05Speaker 1: Bt.
- 9:06Speaker 2: I was gonna say real quick, same thing with the
- 9:09Speaker 2: R and B parties, right, correct me if I'm wrong.
- 9:12Speaker 2: I didn't see R and B parties until I saw
- 9:14Speaker 2: SL Lounge.
- 9:15Speaker 7: We was the first, you guys, we was the first.
- 9:19Speaker 7: I remember Brian Michael cos Keith Thomas, no rap, they
- 9:24Speaker 7: and be all Night their R and B All Night.
- 9:26Speaker 7: They were the first people I saw that. They said, oh,
- 9:29Speaker 7: they're doing an R and B party. So I remember
- 9:31Speaker 7: I went to they first night at the like SL
- 9:34Speaker 7: Lounge and it was empty, and I said, I want
- 9:36Speaker 7: to help y'all and they said, listen, we ain't gonna
- 9:39Speaker 7: make no money.
- 9:39Speaker 1: I said, I don't care.
- 9:41Speaker 7: This is something different that I'm not saying because every
- 9:43Speaker 7: party I do is trapped out. You hear R and
- 9:46Speaker 7: b afrobeat for ten minutes and we gotta be trapped
- 9:49Speaker 7: out for four hours.
- 9:51Speaker 3: By the way, But it's okay, go ahead, what you
- 9:53Speaker 3: like trapped out?
- 9:54Speaker 1: I love listen, I go ahead.
- 9:56Speaker 7: I love the trap music too. But at some point,
- 9:58Speaker 7: when is it time to talk to the ladies and
- 10:01Speaker 7: dance and have fun.
- 10:02Speaker 1: It's like we got.
- 10:03Speaker 7: To end talking about that, so you know he already
- 10:10Speaker 7: he already drunk some bad water.
- 10:12Speaker 1: Out there, but it's seeing a Chevy on twenty six.
- 10:18Speaker 7: But it's like now you can see now, it's like
- 10:22Speaker 7: just that atmosphere, like I remember everybody used to be
- 10:26Speaker 7: at cel Lounge at the R and B party, and
- 10:28Speaker 7: then it's like all the people that I remember I
- 10:31Speaker 7: was being promoters in different city and it was like, yeah,
- 10:34Speaker 7: I did this party because.
- 10:35Speaker 1: I went to cl Lounge. It's all y'all doing it.
- 10:36Speaker 7: So I took it back to my city or I
- 10:38Speaker 7: took it back to my town, and it's like it's
- 10:41Speaker 7: so crazy.
- 10:42Speaker 1: Now. It's like every city you go to, their biggest
- 10:44Speaker 1: parties is R and B.
- 10:45Speaker 2: But you guys got your flowers too, though. You guys
- 10:48Speaker 2: are doing it in Houston. You guys are doing it
- 10:50Speaker 2: in La you guys are doing it with Usher on
- 10:53Speaker 2: the road after his concerts he did hear me Like yeah, bro,
- 10:56Speaker 2: I gotta go to the boss.
- 10:57Speaker 6: But looks that's another point though, right, like this is
- 11:01Speaker 6: what makes Atlanta so special because would it have worked
- 11:06Speaker 6: and blown up anywhere else? Because the reason why it
- 11:09Speaker 6: works is because of you guys, and who does it
- 11:12Speaker 6: The names you just mentioned like Brian, Michael Cox Key,
- 11:15Speaker 6: these guys are R and B guys, you understand, So like,
- 11:20Speaker 6: I don't know if you have any other city that
- 11:22Speaker 6: has a history like these guys have and the relationships
- 11:25Speaker 6: like these guys have to make that party pick up.
- 11:28Speaker 3: And I remember going to the R and B party
- 11:31Speaker 3: and I just saw Usher.
- 11:31Speaker 4: I was like, you know, what are you doing?
- 11:35Speaker 6: What? Why here?
- 11:36Speaker 2: And then Sean Garrett was right next to him, and
- 11:39Speaker 2: then you know such as Neo was right next to
- 11:42Speaker 2: him over here, like yo, this is a random Wednesday
- 11:44Speaker 2: night and Raan Martini and.
- 11:46Speaker 3: This shit is loaded.
- 11:48Speaker 1: But that's what I'm saying.
- 11:48Speaker 6: What other city can you go to people the promoters
- 11:52Speaker 6: or the people throwing the party, curating the party have
- 11:54Speaker 6: these type of relationships to say, Kate Usher.
- 11:59Speaker 1: Come pull up.
- 12:00Speaker 6: Yeah, you see what I'm saying. So where could I could?
- 12:02Speaker 6: I don't know if it could have worked anywhere else.
- 12:05Speaker 7: I don't think it could work anywhere else either. I
- 12:06Speaker 7: think the major thing that's also different is that we're
- 12:10Speaker 7: not doing this to make money. We're just doing this
- 12:13Speaker 7: to have fun, to give people opportunities. Like when these
- 12:15Speaker 7: celebrities are in the building, they feel like they're at home.
- 12:18Speaker 7: They walking around, Yo, what's up? Da da da, what's up?
- 12:22Speaker 7: And then it's like if you never been to a party,
- 12:24Speaker 7: if you're out of Tunny might be like, damn Neo
- 12:27Speaker 7: here just kicking it.
- 12:28Speaker 1: And chilling it.
- 12:29Speaker 5: Then you got in his hook y'all playing the record
- 12:32Speaker 5: Jazzy Fail up.
- 12:33Speaker 7: Here before me, and you got Ray J walking around
- 12:36Speaker 7: here acting crazy, and it's like if you never if
- 12:39Speaker 7: you never experienced that these people coming and they so
- 12:42Speaker 7: comfortable because they know this is this is like I
- 12:46Speaker 7: had Mario. We did an interview with Mario and I
- 12:50Speaker 7: was like, hey man, you'll come to my R and
- 12:51Speaker 7: B party and he was like, bet, I'm pulling up.
- 12:54Speaker 7: And then I was like, you know, sometimes you tell
- 12:56Speaker 7: artists that you just now mean, they might be like whatever,
- 12:59Speaker 7: but he called me. He was like, man, everybody's talking
- 13:02Speaker 7: about y'all R and B party. I got to go
- 13:04Speaker 7: and he went there.
- 13:05Speaker 1: He was like, oh, this is crazy because all his.
- 13:08Speaker 3: Peers are in there, and now he's telling everybody, but
- 13:11Speaker 3: y'all go.
- 13:11Speaker 1: Y'all are the reason why.
- 13:13Speaker 6: Like I go to I go home in New York,
- 13:15Speaker 6: I go everywhere and everybody has an R and B
- 13:17Speaker 6: part and it's funny. Like living in Atlanta, it's like
- 13:21Speaker 6: I go to their party and like this, we spoiled.
- 13:25Speaker 1: The real It was my birthday and he won there.
- 13:31Speaker 2: I was like, dude, because I bought the section maybe
- 13:33Speaker 2: two months ahead, come over there, like you motherfucker.
- 13:37Speaker 1: I was out of town. I had to work. But
- 13:39Speaker 1: you gotta y'all to understand though.
- 13:41Speaker 6: It's like other people they're trying to recreate the sauce
- 13:45Speaker 6: without using the same ingredients and it don't work.
- 13:47Speaker 7: It don't work because I've been to other cities, major cities,
- 13:50Speaker 7: and I'm like, I know what they missing. Then I
- 13:54Speaker 7: go to another city and I'll be like, y'all got
- 13:57Speaker 7: to get a DJ that curates to this, and it's
- 14:00Speaker 7: like the problem is these major cities.
- 14:01Speaker 1: They try to go after the same DJ.
- 14:04Speaker 7: This DJ may just be good at playing trap, this
- 14:07Speaker 7: DJ may be specializing Afro B, this DJ may specialize
- 14:11Speaker 7: in R.
- 14:12Speaker 1: And B parties.
- 14:13Speaker 7: They just want to get Oh who's popular. And I
- 14:15Speaker 7: can always tell because I'm like, why is he playing.
- 14:18Speaker 6: These R and B song But no, But look that's
- 14:19Speaker 6: that's I'm glad you said that because another reason why
- 14:23Speaker 6: y'all's party work is because y'all stick to what you're saying.
- 14:27Speaker 6: It's an R and B party.
- 14:29Speaker 3: Stage strict.
- 14:30Speaker 2: I think maybe they played hip hop maybe the last
- 14:32Speaker 2: two minutes of the party.
- 14:34Speaker 5: It's almost a reverse, Like you go to a trap event,
- 14:36Speaker 5: like you said club and in the last two minutes
- 14:38Speaker 5: when you pick your shorty R and B th the
- 14:41Speaker 5: last three songs, it's the reverse.
- 14:42Speaker 1: And I love it because.
- 14:43Speaker 6: Because it's like different, it reminds me of like when
- 14:46Speaker 6: I first moved here, Like there wasn't a lot of
- 14:49Speaker 6: Caribbean music being paid played in the clubs. It wasn't
- 14:51Speaker 6: a lot of African music being played in the clubs.
- 14:54Speaker 6: And if something was promoted as an international party or
- 14:57Speaker 6: a dance hall party or afroc African party, you go there,
- 15:01Speaker 6: you're gonna hear the you're gonna.
- 15:03Speaker 1: Hear them, right, and then the rest of it. Now
- 15:08Speaker 1: you're gonna hear gucci.
- 15:09Speaker 6: Man, this ain't a dance all part of or like
- 15:12Speaker 6: even now because I'm a piano is like a buzzword.
- 15:15Speaker 4: People like I'm a piano party. You go there and

- 17:18Speaker 6: agree with me.
- 17:19Speaker 4: But as you can see the way I'm dressed, I
- 17:22Speaker 4: just like some different odd.
- 17:23Speaker 6: Ship, you know what I'm saying. So like my pigs
- 17:25Speaker 6: are gonna be like Perimeter. And then the super unconventional
- 17:28Speaker 6: sugar loaf. Okay, sugar loaf on the loan, got the joints,
- 17:33Speaker 6: you know, what I'm saying.
- 17:34Speaker 1: And then Waller Georgia.

- 17:41Speaker 1: You're not gonna see DJ casts at the mom out
- 17:47Speaker 1: the perimeter used to be.
- 17:50Speaker 5: So I'm going because if I'm taking somebody, I want
- 17:53Speaker 5: to show off.
- 17:54Speaker 1: I'm like Phipps, I ain't gonna go in.
- 17:55Speaker 5: The store and be like, well we got that Gucci,
- 17:59Speaker 5: you know, Phipps.

- 18:09Speaker 5: criss cross at. And then secondly, I'm going the same
- 18:12Speaker 5: like he said, not south of Calve, South Cap you know,
- 18:17Speaker 5: for the hood ship, you know the American Deli and

- 18:55Speaker 6: No, Yeah, I'm on your side of town.
- 19:02Speaker 1: So I will say Stone Crest.
- 19:04Speaker 2: Okay, that's why I get my sneakers at because they

- 19:31Speaker 5: West then about to be bulldoze and somebody bought West?
- 19:34Speaker 2: Right, nobody say West? Then I surprised you ain't say West.
- 19:37Speaker 2: Then that's the best American deli. Which leads me to
- 19:40Speaker 2: my next question. Top three wings spots in.
- 19:43Speaker 1: Atlanta American Daily top through off the top?
- 19:47Speaker 3: Okay, which one? Yeah, because all of them is not good.
- 19:52Speaker 8: That's a good question, though.
- 19:54Speaker 4: That's a that's a hard I can't answer that question.
- 19:56Speaker 5: It's okay.
- 19:57Speaker 1: First of all, it's a lot of chicken wings in Atlanta, A.
- 20:00Speaker 1: It's a lot of wings. Some of these chickens are fake.
- 20:06Speaker 1: You're going to go first, face, I go first.
- 20:08Speaker 5: I got a Magic City trap wings in American deli.
- 20:11Speaker 6: American deli, I think minds is little ass wings. Okay,
- 20:15Speaker 6: American deli and there's a spot on the north side.
- 20:18Speaker 2: Bbi's okay, I'm gonna go wings for four Magic City okay.
- 20:25Speaker 2: In blue Flame, yeah, blue.
- 20:27Speaker 1: Flame, I never, I never ye blue Flames.
- 20:31Speaker 3: They come fast, they come out faster than the Magic
- 20:33Speaker 3: City Wings.
- 20:34Speaker 1: Well, we just know Magic City has a high order.
- 20:38Speaker 1: They have a little ass kitchen.
- 20:40Speaker 3: They have Blue Flame kitchen small as hell too though,
- 20:43Speaker 3: but you.
- 20:44Speaker 7: Know blue flame they got is it kills the kitchen
- 20:48Speaker 7: that's in, that's in.
- 20:49Speaker 1: That's a blue Flame Okay, yeah, they got kills kitchen
- 20:52Speaker 1: and they ship man. You know.
- 20:54Speaker 2: To tell you something, I never knew that in blue Flame, yeah,
- 20:59Speaker 2: not order from from Kills kissing a few times on.
- 21:02Speaker 1: Er East, Yeah, I know.
- 21:05Speaker 6: I never I never had a bad not even just wings.
- 21:07Speaker 6: I never had a bad meal at Magic City though,
- 21:09Speaker 6: I never.
- 21:10Speaker 7: Had anything you order from Magic City is good.
- 21:13Speaker 1: First of all, you gotta try to lou Will the
- 21:16Speaker 1: lou Will Limit come on the show to the five.
- 21:21Speaker 1: Magic City needs to open up a restaurant.
- 21:23Speaker 5: Magic Technical tru give us a trunk, said, but it's
- 21:29Speaker 5: been where I just be like, I'm just ordering the
- 21:31Speaker 5: food and while I'm gives that val I just like
- 21:34Speaker 5: I'm just here for the food, but I'm awake.
- 21:36Speaker 8: But that wing they did fell out, he said, wings
- 21:43Speaker 8: not food.
- 21:44Speaker 1: I don't nobody wings, but they food you. One time,
- 21:49Speaker 1: one time for magic he turned seventy.
- 21:53Speaker 7: Okay, yeah, one time a man shout out to ball
- 21:55Speaker 7: and shout out to the whole Magic family.
- 21:58Speaker 1: We know, we know the food take long because it's
- 22:00Speaker 1: y'all get a lot of orders.
- 22:01Speaker 4: But I'm away because it tastes good for sure.
- 22:04Speaker 2: That's why you'm walking. You order and then you.
- 22:07Speaker 1: Maybe have a little drink. You know what I'm saying.
- 22:09Speaker 4: That might be by designing so you can enjoy the
- 22:11Speaker 4: environment around.
- 22:13Speaker 1: No, I'll be going back there in the kitchen. I'll
- 22:15Speaker 1: be walking back. I see them tickets. I'm like, man,
- 22:19Speaker 1: just coming. I just scoop mine up, but just look
- 22:22Speaker 1: a little bit like that.
- 22:23Speaker 2: And the original chef that was there for like twenty years,
- 22:26Speaker 2: he passed away, so somebody knew it now.
- 22:27Speaker 1: But anyway, as we you know Magic City, I.
- 22:32Speaker 2: Used to work, you know, being in the industry so long,
- 22:34Speaker 2: bro I worked in Magic City for five years.
- 22:36Speaker 3: I was at Blue Flame, a couple of years, I
- 22:38Speaker 3: was at Onyx. I was at the longest though I
- 22:41Speaker 3: forgot about.
- 22:44Speaker 7: I never ate No, the new Wait, the new Onyx,
- 22:48Speaker 7: y'all have to try They lobster bs for real.
- 22:50Speaker 1: That's all I'm gonna say. Okay, all right, honest.
- 22:54Speaker 3: Is I mean liking this?
- 22:57Speaker 1: It's set.
- 22:59Speaker 3: It's only I don't want to have sections in.
- 23:01Speaker 1: The strip club.
- 23:03Speaker 2: Why I don't I want to walk around? I want
- 23:06Speaker 2: some people want to be secluded. I like the no,
- 23:09Speaker 2: It's like it's like a g sections and I like.
- 23:13Speaker 3: I like, you might like the Atlanta Signature strip club.
- 23:17Speaker 1: Man, you might want to go.
- 23:19Speaker 7: People want to bump into a strip one man, you
- 23:22Speaker 7: might want to walk in there and tell a coming down.
- 23:26Speaker 1: But they got No.
- 23:28Speaker 4: You got a point though, because it makes it.
- 23:30Speaker 1: It makes for good fellowship.
- 23:36Speaker 7: But look they got they got they got sections at
- 23:39Speaker 7: Blue Flame and Magic City.
- 23:40Speaker 3: Yeah, because you know what I don't want to talk
- 23:43Speaker 3: about because we got five minutes.
- 23:45Speaker 7: Okay, all right, so listen, let's let's let's get to it.
- 23:48Speaker 7: We did an episode where a lot of people were
- 23:52Speaker 7: mad at me. A lot of people were upset about
- 23:53Speaker 7: the things that I said. When I said that, you know,
- 23:57Speaker 7: people just reheadlines, right, I said that the reason why
- 24:01Speaker 7: I feel like a lot of things with the night
- 24:04Speaker 7: life in Atlanta, it's not where it's supposed to be
- 24:06Speaker 7: because people are so fueled by money. So what happens
- 24:10Speaker 7: is when people create parties in Atlanta and it don't
- 24:13Speaker 7: work in three weeks, you notice the promoters just quit.
- 24:16Speaker 1: And that's the fact.
- 24:17Speaker 7: And I said, I said, the thing about it is
- 24:20Speaker 7: if I feel like if promoters and other other people
- 24:23Speaker 7: that's involved in the night, like if they had other
- 24:25Speaker 7: things going on, then just so focused on this, you
- 24:28Speaker 7: wouldn't do it just strictly for money. I understand we
- 24:31Speaker 7: all trying to make money. Everybody's trying to make a living.
- 24:34Speaker 7: But I said, a lot of people used to be like,
- 24:36Speaker 7: why are y'all party so good on Wednesday?
- 24:38Speaker 1: Why? I said, because we don't care about money.
- 24:41Speaker 7: We don't care if five people show up. We gonna drink,
- 24:44Speaker 7: we're gonna have fun, We're gonna sing, gonna listen to
- 24:45Speaker 7: R and B.
- 24:46Speaker 1: Were gonna get home. Since Keith be.
- 24:47Speaker 2: Hosting, that's how I'll be over here, Like he ain't
- 24:49Speaker 2: no host, he just be talking time Keith.
- 24:52Speaker 1: Soon he gets go ahead.
- 24:53Speaker 6: Y'all, I'm agree with that because, like, because people do
- 24:57Speaker 6: it for the money. Like now, curating party I don't
- 25:01Speaker 6: even like to say I'm a promoter. I like to
- 25:02Speaker 6: say I curate parties because even that sounds so corny. Now,
- 25:05Speaker 6: like I'm a promoter, you know what I mean. Yeah,
- 25:06Speaker 6: But like because it's become like a hustle.
- 25:09Speaker 1: Now, yeah, I'm a promoter.
- 25:11Speaker 6: It's a hustle. So nobody's in it for the art
- 25:13Speaker 6: of it. Nobody's in it for the love of it.
- 25:16Speaker 6: So that's why you can have thirty people trying to
- 25:19Speaker 6: copy your R and B party because like, oh, that's working,
- 25:22Speaker 6: so we're gonna try to do it too. Like everybody
- 25:25Speaker 6: try to follow the AG model. Like the what makes
- 25:29Speaker 6: a good party scene is balanced, Like we can go
- 25:33Speaker 6: to something where it's super high end, we can go
- 25:36Speaker 6: to a middle end, we could go to a low end.
- 25:38Speaker 1: When AG is doing his thing, he becomes the king.
- 25:41Speaker 6: He's doing He's he was doing monumental stuff nobody has
- 25:44Speaker 6: ever seen. So everybody try to follow it, so everybody
- 25:48Speaker 6: can't be him.
- 25:50Speaker 1: So that's what made the scene whack.
- 25:51Speaker 4: Everybody's trying to copy one person when.
- 25:54Speaker 1: It's like staying Lane do this. You don't have to have.
- 25:56Speaker 6: All the celebrities that he's really good at that. Maybe
- 25:59Speaker 6: you're really good at something else. But then that's how
- 26:01Speaker 6: we get all these niche things.
- 26:03Speaker 1: We get R and B. Like I like R and B,
- 26:04Speaker 1: so I'm just have an R and B party. I do.
- 26:06Speaker 6: I'm a piano, I like, I'm a piano, so I'm
- 26:08Speaker 6: just I'm a piano party. But when you get everybody
- 26:10Speaker 6: trying to copy one person, that's when the scene becomes
- 26:13Speaker 6: corny because now everybody's just trying to chase the.
- 26:16Speaker 1: Dollar, you know what I mean.
- 26:17Speaker 5: And what happens in that case is what I do.
- 26:19Speaker 5: Besides that is I support the DJ. I go off
- 26:22Speaker 5: the name I know it mixed Master David Popole. There
- 26:25Speaker 5: sean fight and a cash like I know what I'm
- 26:27Speaker 5: about to get both that's like fast and I'm going
- 26:31Speaker 5: and I'm going to support them, and I'm doing my
- 26:33Speaker 5: thing like whatever, like you said.
- 26:34Speaker 1: If Usher comes in and that's extra. I'm seeing them
- 26:37Speaker 1: rock out and I'm.
- 26:38Speaker 5: Like, oh, this, this is this is what I came
- 26:40Speaker 5: for to see my man's rock out. And I'm seeing
- 26:42Speaker 5: people like and I'm like, this is my man like this,
- 26:45Speaker 5: I love this ship.
- 26:46Speaker 4: And that's very true because you come to my party,
- 26:48Speaker 4: I'm not.
- 26:48Speaker 1: Playing your music.
- 26:49Speaker 6: Yeah, and it ain't you simple like like everybody comes
- 26:53Speaker 6: to my Tuesday, Tiana Taylor being there, whoever, I'm not.
- 26:55Speaker 6: You're coming for the party, you know what I'm saying,
- 26:58Speaker 6: You're coming to enjoy yourself. And then, like if it
- 27:00Speaker 6: makes sense, I play it like the Vido came last night.
- 27:02Speaker 6: I'm gonna play a record because it falls into the theme.
- 27:05Speaker 4: Of what I'm doing.
- 27:06Speaker 6: Other than that, we're not stopping our program to attend
- 27:09Speaker 6: to you, you.
- 27:10Speaker 1: Know what I mean. Same thing at the R and
- 27:11Speaker 1: B party that I've seen.
- 27:12Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean, it's it's getting a little crazy because
- 27:17Speaker 7: it's too many people in there that you know that
- 27:20Speaker 7: that are celebrities that feel like they records should be
- 27:24Speaker 7: played more.
- 27:25Speaker 1: Than this person than this person.
- 27:29Speaker 8: Well, you agree from a different perspective, right then, probably
- 27:33Speaker 8: most of y'all because y'all in the night life scene.
- 27:36Speaker 8: Me as an artist, I feel like the scene was
- 27:40Speaker 8: taking down a little bit because of the violence. Okay,
- 27:44Speaker 8: that's the way I looked at it, because ag not
- 27:47Speaker 8: because of anybody in particular. Niggas getting shot in the club.
- 27:51Speaker 8: Out the club made me want to feel like damn
- 27:54Speaker 8: this ship. Ain't saying I don't want to go, So
- 27:57Speaker 8: I'm very siletter. I want to go to the R
- 28:00Speaker 8: and B Wins. I've been here by this shit forever.
- 28:02Speaker 8: I still ain't went your party. Sound dope too, But
- 28:05Speaker 8: that's my perspective coming from an artist, you know what
- 28:07Speaker 8: I'm saying, And I look at stuff like.
- 28:10Speaker 1: From from promoters.
- 28:11Speaker 8: I've dealt with promoters who don't care if the artists
- 28:14Speaker 8: make it to the door.
- 28:16Speaker 1: From the car to the door. Nigga, don't don't care
- 28:20Speaker 1: if you make it home safe. You know what I'm saying.
- 28:22Speaker 8: So that's the kind of mentality I had to start
- 28:25Speaker 8: protecting myself in, Like if I'm gonna go to a party,
- 28:27Speaker 8: these folks even give a fuck if.
- 28:29Speaker 1: I make it in this bitch or not. If it
- 28:31Speaker 1: ain't that, then I probably won't even pull up.
- 28:34Speaker 7: That's that's that's an interesting viewpoint of at you because
- 28:38Speaker 7: a lot of times when we do have uh, you know,
- 28:41Speaker 7: artists and people that pull up that you know that
- 28:43Speaker 7: we rock with, we don't I feel like our energy
- 28:47Speaker 7: like people be dancing part of having so much fun.
- 28:49Speaker 1: It's like, ain't nobody thinking about that? You know? What
- 28:53Speaker 1: I'm saying. It's it's almost like, yo, if you thinking
- 28:56Speaker 1: about violence.
- 28:57Speaker 7: At an R and B party, bro, just go to
- 29:01Speaker 7: jail man.
- 29:02Speaker 1: There's plenty of violence going on there, you know what
- 29:05Speaker 1: I mean.
- 29:05Speaker 7: And it's like I feel like like even I was
- 29:08Speaker 7: looking at everybody's posting about Cash Party Lives, I was like, Damn,
- 29:12Speaker 7: this looked fun. I was like, damn, I should have
- 29:14Speaker 7: like like I wish I would have known about it.
- 29:16Speaker 7: But it's like that's the feeling that I really don't
- 29:19Speaker 7: feel a lot of times when I see other people
- 29:20Speaker 7: talking about parties or events, I don't feel fomo.
- 29:24Speaker 1: I don't feel like I missed out.
- 29:26Speaker 7: Like when I seen everybody tell my Cash Party like
- 29:28Speaker 7: I felt like I missed out.
- 29:30Speaker 1: I felt like I need to be there because I've
- 29:32Speaker 1: seen the energy.
- 29:32Speaker 3: That's how you know it's a it's a dope event.
- 29:35Speaker 6: But again, because that's that just goes with something that's different,
- 29:38Speaker 6: because you're not gonna feel for more over something you've
- 29:40Speaker 6: seen a thousand times. I've been like those certain parties,
- 29:45Speaker 6: you're just like I've been to that type of party
- 29:48Speaker 6: a billion times. When you see something different, you're like, damn,
- 29:52Speaker 6: you know You're like, I wonder what that meant.
- 29:53Speaker 1: I'm trying to figure out what that be, you know
- 29:55Speaker 1: what I'm saying.
- 29:55Speaker 6: So again, I think it's just I think and at
- 29:58Speaker 6: the same time, I think, like the scene is not dead,
- 30:03Speaker 6: it's just it's just pivoting. You do have a dope
- 30:06Speaker 6: ass R and B party. You do have a dope
- 30:08Speaker 6: I'm a piano party, you do. You know, people are
- 30:11Speaker 6: trying to figure theirself out instead of trying to follow somebody.
- 30:14Speaker 1: Like a G who's the king at what he does.
- 30:17Speaker 1: Know what I'm saying, like, you can't. You can't do
- 30:20Speaker 1: what he does. He's the master at that.
- 30:22Speaker 9: You know what.
- 30:23Speaker 1: That's what he created. That was his line.
- 30:24Speaker 6: He's the master at it. I have yet to see
- 30:27Speaker 6: anybody do what he does.
- 30:29Speaker 2: I would say honorbro second with AG would be my
- 30:31Speaker 2: boy Mike in Miami Headliner.
