- 0:00Speaker 1: Now the Red Beret has returned to radio. Curtis Leewall
- 0:05Speaker 1: guest host The Mark Simone Show on sevent tenor I
- 0:16Speaker 1: had my Christmas present last week substuoting for Mark Simon.
- 0:21Speaker 1: He's the best in the business. And then I get
- 0:25Speaker 1: my pre birthday gift substuting for Mark this week up
- 0:30Speaker 1: until the second and that birthday March twenty six. I'll
- 0:34Speaker 1: be seventy two, and I know more about New York
- 0:38Speaker 1: City and politics and anybody alive. There's no doubt about it.
- 0:42Speaker 1: I challenge anybody because I know where all the bones
- 0:45Speaker 1: are buried in who buried them, And I don't mince
- 0:48Speaker 1: my language. We are going to get into subject matter
- 0:53Speaker 1: that is of incredible importance to all of you if
- 0:57Speaker 1: you happen to live within New York State, and the
- 1:00Speaker 1: same philosophy could be coming to a state where you
- 1:05Speaker 1: live or near you. Because I've spent incredible amount of
- 1:11Speaker 1: time since losing the election to Zoran Mondomi, and yes
- 1:15Speaker 1: he is the may he won fair and square. He
- 1:18Speaker 1: is going to have his celebration after he has sworn
- 1:21Speaker 1: in by Bernie the Out the Coca Sanders, originally from
- 1:25Speaker 1: Brooklyn who went to Madison High School, which is also
- 1:30Speaker 1: where Chuck Schumer went. By the way, update on Chuck Schumer.
- 1:36Speaker 1: Oh yeah, a lot of you are not gonna like it.
- 1:40Speaker 1: But the masters of the universe, the billionaires, they just
- 1:45Speaker 1: can't stop themselves from getting involved in things they know
- 1:48Speaker 1: absolutely nothing about. Big story, we're gonna get into it
- 1:53Speaker 1: in this hour. It's how Elon Musk decides to weigh
- 1:58Speaker 1: in on the new fire commissioner, who he claims, as
- 2:04Speaker 1: a result of Zarn Mondami's appointment, that people will die
- 2:10Speaker 1: as a result. Now he knows nothing at all about
- 2:12Speaker 1: New York City. He happens to see somebody else who
- 2:15Speaker 1: posted this, who themselves know nothing at all about the
- 2:19Speaker 1: history of the fire department and fire commissioners in New
- 2:22Speaker 1: York City, and he reposts it, and obviously he's in
- 2:25Speaker 1: charge of X and he's getting millions of hits like
- 2:28Speaker 1: he somehow knows all about this about the only thing
- 2:32Speaker 1: he doesn't know is how to put out those fires
- 2:36Speaker 1: from his Tesla batteries in his electric cars, because when
- 2:41Speaker 1: they go on fire, Oh, it takes hours to put
- 2:45Speaker 1: him out. He hasn't even yet figured that out. But
- 2:48Speaker 1: we'll talk about that momentarily because he couldn't be more
- 2:52Speaker 1: hopelessly wrong. And once again, I'll explain it from a
- 2:57Speaker 1: historical performance. Most of the fire commissioners of late most
- 3:02Speaker 1: I'm not just talking about those appointed by Eric Adams
- 3:06Speaker 1: swaggerman with no plan and I can't.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Wait for him to get get out of here, get
- 3:10Speaker 2: out of our lives.
- 3:13Speaker 1: But prior yeah, let's see Bloombert Giuliani think it's nobody's
- 3:21Speaker 1: even mentioning all the fire commissioners who served for those
- 3:24Speaker 1: mayors who had never put out a waste paper basket fire.
- 3:30Speaker 1: But do you think that a guy like Elon Musk,
- 3:33Speaker 1: who's omnipotent, thinks he knows everything, like all those billionaires
- 3:37Speaker 1: and millionaires because they've succeeded in business, they're very wealthy.
- 3:42Speaker 1: You think he'll apologize, of course not.
- 3:44Speaker 2: They never do.
- 3:46Speaker 1: Like Trump yesterday, I had to turn it off in
- 3:49Speaker 1: the wee hours of the morning. He's he's standing there
- 3:51Speaker 1: with Zelensky and he's saying, yeah, Russia really wants to
- 3:55Speaker 1: see the Ukraine succeed.
- 3:59Speaker 2: Man, they's no way.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Yeah, if Russia takes over the Ukraine again, By the way,
- 4:05Speaker 1: the Ukraine gave up it's nuclear Arsenal.
- 4:08Speaker 2: They had more nuclear weapons.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Than anyone else other than the United States, and the
- 4:14Speaker 1: old Soviet Union isn't. Back in nineteen ninety one, Bill
- 4:17Speaker 1: Clinton was president, he convinced him give up your nuclear payload. Yeah,
- 4:22Speaker 1: how did that work out? But when all of a
- 4:26Speaker 1: sudden Trump is saying, oh, yeah, Russia. I just spoke
- 4:28Speaker 1: to Putin earlier today on the phone, Yeah, Russia really
- 4:31Speaker 1: wants to see the Ukraine succeed. And I'm like, Zelenski
- 4:35Speaker 1: say something.
- 4:38Speaker 2: Of course, he.
- 4:38Speaker 1: Ain'sn't gonna say anything, because nobody can ever challenge Donald Trump.
- 4:43Speaker 1: I believe you challenge authority no matter who's in charge,
- 4:46Speaker 1: and when somebody makes absolutely ridiculous comments, you must challenge it.
- 4:52Speaker 1: Like when Trump said that it was the Ukraine that
- 4:56Speaker 1: started the war.
- 4:59Speaker 2: How many republic challenge him.
- 5:01Speaker 1: We're getting into Republican leadership, and how so many Republicans
- 5:05Speaker 1: are just afraid to challenge authority at any level, local, regional, state, national,
- 5:13Speaker 1: it's not you know it, don't make a big deal
- 5:15Speaker 1: about it. I always make big deals about it because
- 5:18Speaker 1: I believe you have to question authority, especially when it
- 5:22Speaker 1: doesn't make sense, like that ridiculous statement yesterday. Of mar
- 5:26Speaker 1: A Lago, where the President says, yeah, Zonski, Russia really
- 5:30Speaker 1: wants you to be successful in the Ukraine, and Zelenski,
- 5:36Speaker 1: you bite your tongue, don't say anything, or Trump and
- 5:41Speaker 1: the administration will go on a rampage against you. All right,
- 5:44Speaker 1: put that aside, as you know, I've spent a lot
- 5:47Speaker 1: of time bisecting and dissecting the fact that Republican leadership
- 5:53Speaker 1: here in the state of New York has decided they
- 5:55Speaker 1: want a Uni party, they don't want a two party system.
- 5:59Speaker 1: They have can convince themselves, and they have convinced a
- 6:02Speaker 1: lot of the Republican registered voters that Republicans cannot win
- 6:06Speaker 1: a city wide election or a state wide election. Now,
- 6:10Speaker 1: for some of you, you may say, well that that
- 6:12Speaker 1: sounds pretty personal. It is because I went through that
- 6:16Speaker 1: from the highest levels of the White House to Elon
- 6:19Speaker 1: Musk himself soon to be a trillionaire, the world's richest guy,
- 6:25Speaker 1: to a guy named Akman.
- 6:26Speaker 2: Who the hell is this guy? Ackman?
- 6:28Speaker 1: Every day he was tweeting Curtis, you can't win, drop out.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Drop out, drop out travel and you know how that went.
- 6:35Speaker 2: And then in the.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Waning days of the campaign, Republican leaders. Republicans decided a
- 6:43Speaker 1: vote for Sly is a vote for Mondami vo fa cuomo,
- 6:47Speaker 1: U Discratsiata in every which way. I mean, we could
- 6:49Speaker 1: spend the rest of this program just talking about what
- 6:52Speaker 1: a disgrace that guy was, because in their minds, there
- 6:58Speaker 1: are two parties in New York State. Now there are
- 7:02Speaker 1: moderate Democrats and there are socialist Democrats, and Republicans don't
- 7:07Speaker 1: have a chance to beat them citywide or in statewide elections.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Now put my election aside. Still with at least the
- 7:15Speaker 1: Phonic we talked about her last week. Suddenly she drops
- 7:18Speaker 1: out and says, not only is she dropping out of
- 7:21Speaker 1: a Republican primary against Bruce Plaateman, but she's not going
- 7:26Speaker 1: to run for reelection in the House. We lose a
- 7:29Speaker 1: superstar because Republican leadership was working behind the scenes to
- 7:34Speaker 1: throw her under the bus. You see, as much as
- 7:40Speaker 1: Donald Trump, the President, threw her under the bus. The
- 7:44Speaker 1: worst part was is that Alista Phonic had put together
- 7:47Speaker 1: a campaign team mostly from upstate New York, people that
- 7:51Speaker 1: she knew, people that she trusted, and the Park Avenue
- 7:56Speaker 1: crowd down here, most of whom are not Republicans, but
- 8:01Speaker 1: they act like they can tell Republicans what to do.
- 8:04Speaker 1: And it's not Park Avenue in Brooklyn and Park Avenue
- 8:07Speaker 1: in the Bronx, which they've never traveled to. It's Park
- 8:09Speaker 1: Avenue in Manhattan. Decided there's nobody from downstate involved in
- 8:15Speaker 1: at least the Phonics campaign. We're gonna go all on
- 8:19Speaker 1: board with Bruce Blakeman because Bruce Blakeman is a winner.
- 8:23Speaker 2: This is what they said.
- 8:24Speaker 1: And he won very convincingly the Nassau County executive position
- 8:28Speaker 1: re election against his Democratic opponent. And then I hear
- 8:33Speaker 1: them tell the yeah, and he's a winner. He's a winner.
- 8:35Speaker 1: If you've been around long enough in politics, you've probably
- 8:41Speaker 1: lost more than you won. Remember, Donald Trump was an
- 8:44Speaker 1: exception to the rule. Twenty sixteen. He's on the stage
- 8:47Speaker 1: they announcements the president. He shocked Hillary Rodham. Clinton was
- 8:51Speaker 1: in a fetal position at the Jacob Chavits Convention Center,
- 8:55Speaker 1: spent maybe a month in a fetal position.
- 8:58Speaker 2: I couldn't accept the fact that she had lost. Very unusual.
- 9:03Speaker 1: So I'm saying, look, I know Bruce Blakeman. I like
- 9:06Speaker 1: the guy, but let's face it, who would you want
- 9:10Speaker 1: to be running against Kathy Hockel. I mean, I remember
- 9:14Speaker 1: Bruce Blakeman. He ran for state Controller as a Republican
- 9:17Speaker 1: ninety eight against Carl McCole loss. He ran for the
- 9:19Speaker 1: Nassau County Legislature ninety nine loss, ran for the US
- 9:23Speaker 1: Senate special election twenty ten, remember when Hillary decided she
- 9:28Speaker 1: would become Secretary of State and he lost the primary
- 9:33Speaker 1: to Joe the Aguardi. And in twenty fourteen he ran
- 9:36Speaker 1: for the House and lost to Kathleen Rice. So that
- 9:40Speaker 1: doesn't disqualify him because you know, people say, well, well
- 9:43Speaker 1: you got all no, no, no, no. If he can run,
- 9:46Speaker 1: he should run. But why did all of a sudden
- 9:51Speaker 1: you notice people of great influence surround Kathy Hockel, and
- 9:58Speaker 1: we're meeting with her, and they have come to the conclusion.
- 10:03Speaker 1: And I know because people have shared the conversations with
- 10:06Speaker 1: me that rather than put all of their fiscal resource
- 10:11Speaker 1: and support behind Bruce Blakeman, that they're actually gonna work
- 10:15Speaker 1: for Kathy Hulkl to get reelected because she'll keep Zora
- 10:19Speaker 1: Mandami and the Democratic Socialist in check.
- 10:22Speaker 2: Yeah. Right, but they figure.
- 10:24Speaker 1: They'll have more control with her because they don't think
- 10:27Speaker 1: a Republican can win this is coming off the mayoral election.
- 10:30Speaker 1: And by the way, President Donald Trump did Elie Stefaniki disservice,
- 10:35Speaker 1: throwing her under the bus on a number of occasions
- 10:38Speaker 1: that led to her unexpected dropping out. Although I kind
- 10:42Speaker 1: of felt it, I kind of felt it was coming.
- 10:45Speaker 1: And now we have what you're really not going to like,
- 10:49Speaker 1: and that's why we got to stop this. I was
- 10:51Speaker 1: at a major gathering of Republicans yesterday.
- 10:56Speaker 2: In Midtown.
- 10:58Speaker 1: And I broke the news to all of them who
- 11:00Speaker 1: had gathered for their holiday party, is that there are
- 11:04Speaker 1: Republican leaders now, and there are Republican business people Park
- 11:09Speaker 1: Avenue people who are meeting with Chuck Schumer Despise loath
- 11:14Speaker 1: right the lowest of ratings of any major political figure
- 11:18Speaker 1: in the country. It's down to about twenty eight percent.
- 11:22Speaker 1: And they have come to the conclusion that if he
- 11:24Speaker 1: decides to run for reelection, and let's face it, all
- 11:28Speaker 1: these guys and gals, that's why you need term limits.
- 11:30Speaker 1: It's until death do they part. They'll run forever. Get
- 11:33Speaker 1: the defibriator next to them. They could be in the ICU.
- 11:37Speaker 1: They want to run. But if Chuck Schumer decides to run,
- 11:44Speaker 1: already Republican leaders and people, you know, the acmens of
- 11:51Speaker 1: the world, who know nothing about politics. You know, they
- 11:54Speaker 1: know a lot about Wall Street, a lot about hedge funds.
- 11:56Speaker 1: They've done very well in business, but they know nothing
- 11:59Speaker 1: about not when it comes to politics because they made
- 12:02Speaker 1: all the wrong choices. Are now meeting privately with Chuck
- 12:05Speaker 1: Schumer and saying, you know, you probably can't win a
- 12:09Speaker 1: Democratic primary if you run like Cuomo, but they'll probably
- 12:14Speaker 1: either be AOC running against you in a Democratic primary,
- 12:18Speaker 1: or if she decides to run for the presidency the
- 12:20Speaker 1: Democratic primary, there'll be somebody else from the socialist wing
- 12:24Speaker 1: of the Democratic Party and you'll lose. But then in
- 12:27Speaker 1: the general election, we'll do like we did for Cromo.
- 12:30Speaker 1: We'll get Republicans to support you, independence Conservatives, and moderate
- 12:34Speaker 1: Democrats to stop a socialist from becoming a US Senate.
- 12:40Speaker 1: He's entertaining that why would they be doing that, because
- 12:46Speaker 1: they have already cast their lot into a UNI party.
- 12:50Speaker 1: They don't think that Republicans can win in statewide elections
- 12:55Speaker 1: or citywide elections. So they are the masters of the universe.
- 12:59Speaker 1: They think they know everything, and they know nothing about nothing,
- 13:03Speaker 1: as you will learn when we discuss the how can
- 13:08Speaker 1: we be kind to him? The very eccentric Elon Musk,
- 13:13Speaker 1: who decided to tweet his way into New York politics
- 13:16Speaker 1: a second time, because remember he had tweeted to his
- 13:20Speaker 1: massive following on x A vo for Slee is avomandami
- 13:24Speaker 1: vo for Cuomo. Why wouldn't he He got a billion
- 13:27Speaker 1: dollars from the Buffalo billion and did nothing up there,
- 13:30Speaker 1: a billion dollars to do nothing, and seven Cuomo cronies
- 13:34Speaker 1: went to jail for that cause he likes Cuomo. But
- 13:38Speaker 1: now he's tweeted into something that he knows nothing about
- 13:44Speaker 1: the Fire Department in New York City. And you will
- 13:46Speaker 1: not have heard this analogy from anybody. That's why I
- 13:51Speaker 1: know where all the bones are buried and who buried them?
- 13:55Speaker 1: Right now on my station at the station that I
- 13:58Speaker 1: listened to along with Nancy seven ten WR and it
- 14:02Speaker 1: should be yours too. Our numbers one eight hundred three
- 14:05Speaker 1: two one zero seven ten one eight hundred three two
- 14:09Speaker 1: one zero seven ten
