- 1:25Speaker 2: till it actually is actually a nasty drive home in
- 1:29Speaker 2: a drive in this morning for a lot of folks,
- 1:31Speaker 2: especially those of us who live in Putnam County. A
- 1:34Speaker 2: hurricane got about three and a half inches of snow,
- 1:36Speaker 2: not so much here in downtown Charles, maybe more or
- 1:39Speaker 2: less where you live. I don't know. I am over it,
- 1:42Speaker 2: and I know many of you are too. But we
- 1:44Speaker 2: do have more snow on the way for Friday. They
- 1:46Speaker 2: are going to get a break, a big one, tempts

- 1:54Speaker 2: Shamble will stop by Republican from the fifty ninth, gonna
- 1:56Speaker 2: get some updates and some things going on on the Dome.
- 1:59Speaker 2: You may have heard the story, and it is a
- 2:01Speaker 2: terrible one. Indeed, a dog was brought into the kanal
- 2:05Speaker 2: Charleston Humaine Association on Sunday. I think it was shot
- 2:10Speaker 2: perhaps twice, thrown from a car, and there are some
- 2:14Speaker 2: reports that someone tried to run over the dog with
- 2:17Speaker 2: a car. That dog's name was Stubbs and he has passed.
- 2:21Speaker 2: He actually had to be put down due to complications
- 2:24Speaker 2: from his various medical procedures. A lot of people glued
- 2:28Speaker 2: to myself wants some answers, pretty upset about that. We're
- 2:31Speaker 2: gonna bring an Angie Gilldenwater who's normally with us on
- 2:33Speaker 2: Friday with our Adopt Me Please pet of the Week.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Talk to Angie about it last night, so she's gonna
- 2:37Speaker 2: come on the show in the second segment to give
- 2:38Speaker 2: us an update on the investigation into this. Plus we'll
- 2:42Speaker 2: get to your calls and text. Two Oh. By the way,

- 2:57Speaker 2: and welcome now to the show. Charleston City Councilman Chad Robinson,
- 3:01Speaker 2: who serves in Ward twenty. Good morning, sir, welcome to
- 3:03Speaker 2: the show.
- 3:04Speaker 4: Good morning Dave, thanks for having me again.
- 3:06Speaker 2: Thank you for being here. Before we get to why
- 3:09Speaker 2: you're here, explain Ward twenty to.
- 3:10Speaker 4: Us or twenty Kanas City lowrd Onnilly to South Ruffner
- 3:16Speaker 4: across McCorkle takes in the hospital towards you see, I
- 3:21Speaker 4: stay on the hillside of the real railroad tracks basically
- 3:24Speaker 4: is the entire of my ward.
- 3:26Speaker 2: Okay, and you are up for reelection. I presume you
- 3:29Speaker 2: are running for real acts. Okay, all right, why I'll
- 3:32Speaker 2: give you give you this and then we'll move on.
- 3:35Speaker 2: I don't know whether you have opposition or not, but
- 3:37Speaker 2: why should someone vote for you for real life?
- 3:39Speaker 4: Hey, you know what I'm in, Charlestonian. I've lived in
- 3:41Speaker 4: Kanos City for over forty years. I'm there just to help.
- 3:46Speaker 4: I'm not there for the next step up. I want
- 3:48Speaker 4: to make sure that Kanas City is better for before
- 3:52Speaker 4: I started and when I finished. So you know, I've
- 3:55Speaker 4: been in all the youth leagues basketball Kannosity Basketball youth
- 3:58Speaker 4: League to littlely baseball and softball. Just want to make
- 4:02Speaker 4: sure you know, we have things for our kids to
- 4:04Speaker 4: do and create businesses and places to live in Kanas
- 4:08Speaker 4: City and Charleston.
- 4:09Speaker 2: All right, let's get to Kanas City specifically, because you've
- 4:12Speaker 2: been on the show several times over the last couple
- 4:15Speaker 2: years talking about the ongoing construction in Kanas City. When
- 4:18Speaker 2: that when that was causing a lot of problems with businesses,
- 4:21Speaker 2: that seems to you know, have Well, what is the
- 4:25Speaker 2: status now. I mean things have kind of wrapped up
- 4:27Speaker 2: over there. I think we're there's a relative thing. Well,
- 4:30Speaker 2: I think we're at the end.
- 4:31Speaker 4: You know, the storms have caused some problems with the
- 4:33Speaker 4: water lines and some of the brand new sidewalks have
- 4:36Speaker 4: been torn up in the last few days because of
- 4:39Speaker 4: water water main leaks and things like that. But yeah,
- 4:42Speaker 4: I think we're at the end of the construction project.
- 4:44Speaker 4: It looks like they're cleaning things up with the construction areas. Uh.
- 4:48Speaker 4: But you know, during all that those it felt like
- 4:51Speaker 4: twenty years that mccorkli Avenue was being worked on. Our
- 4:56Speaker 4: business has suffered and some of them actually went away,
- 5:00Speaker 4: lost several we have we still have a lot of
- 5:03Speaker 4: empty storefronts.
- 5:04Speaker 2: Uh.
- 5:05Speaker 4: But you know, we we we got through it. And
- 5:08Speaker 4: now we have to help get new businesses, but more
- 5:11Speaker 4: importantly protect the locally owned businesses we have and recruit
- 5:15Speaker 4: new ones Kano City. What's a recruitment process like for
- 5:19Speaker 4: you or developers or anybody else? So why should people
- 5:22Speaker 4: consider doing having having a business in Canons Well, so
- 5:26Speaker 4: about two years ago, I was at the end of
- 5:29Speaker 4: the construction as we talked about I was with Mayor
- 5:32Speaker 4: Goodwin and Uh I told her we're struggling. I mean,
- 5:36Speaker 4: our business is struggling, so we need to do something
- 5:39Speaker 4: to help them. So I asked for for Charleston Overworks
- 5:44Speaker 4: to come in and take Kanall City as one of
- 5:46Speaker 4: their areas in Charleston. And I was fortunate enough to
- 5:50Speaker 4: get money in the budget to to bring trust and
- 5:55Speaker 4: over Works to Kanas City. And that just kicked off
- 5:58Speaker 4: last year with the city and Rick Cavender and his group.
- 6:03Speaker 4: We've we've started a new working group, We've got a
- 6:07Speaker 4: logo now. We just had our first open house at
- 6:11Speaker 4: Tim Hogan's last in January. We had a great turnout
- 6:16Speaker 4: we had. We've already had one ribbon cutting for Jersey Mics.
- 6:19Speaker 4: We're getting ready to have another one for a bridal
- 6:22Speaker 4: store that it's getting ready to open up. Uh, and
- 6:24Speaker 4: there's a lot of talk about what else is coming
- 6:26Speaker 4: to Kanas City. You know, we're getting Chipotle now the
- 6:30Speaker 4: wing stops coming and got in trouble during our open
- 6:35Speaker 4: house for mentioning another business that's coming. So I probably
- 6:38Speaker 4: won't mention that one, but but stay tuned.
- 6:40Speaker 2: Actually I heard that story, Chad, So what some one
- 6:44Speaker 2: told me about that?
- 6:45Speaker 4: Yeah, there's another business coming in between Applebee's and Chipotle,
- 6:48Speaker 4: but I won't mention that on air.
- 6:49Speaker 2: Okay, can you give us a hint. It's like, what
- 6:51Speaker 2: kind of business took?
- 6:52Speaker 4: Maybe a breakfast or all all twenty four hour breakfast?
- 6:56Speaker 2: Okay, all right? Maybe maybe maybe possibly or maybe a
- 6:59Speaker 2: heart store. We'll just flow throw that out there, or
- 7:01Speaker 2: maybe or maybe attractor supply. I'm just thawing it out
- 7:04Speaker 2: there now. We'll find out what it is when we
- 7:06Speaker 2: get closer. We're talking to Chad Robinson City Council in
- 7:09Speaker 2: Ward twenty, which covers primarily Kanos City. What about the
- 7:12Speaker 2: residential parts of Kanas City? I mean, what's appealing if
- 7:15Speaker 2: you got Because we know that there is a housing
- 7:17Speaker 2: shortage everywhere in the Kanaw Valley. We talked to teroll
- 7:20Speaker 2: ellis a lot from Advantage Valley about that sort of thing.
- 7:23Speaker 2: There's a housing shortage everywhere else. But if we have
- 7:25Speaker 2: enough housing or I know, we probably need more. What
- 7:28Speaker 2: is appealing about Kanas City for families to come to, Well,
- 7:31Speaker 2: first and foremost, it's convenient.
- 7:34Speaker 4: You know, we're minutes from downtown Charleston. The majority of
- 7:38Speaker 4: Kanos City is flat, flat roads, private single resident family
- 7:44Speaker 4: home homes. We do have him out like my ward
- 7:48Speaker 4: is on the hillside, but a lot of the in
- 7:50Speaker 4: the up in the hollers, as you say, But we
- 7:54Speaker 4: have a lot of homes that are that are nice
- 7:56Speaker 4: single family. I've lived in Kanas City for forty years.
- 8:00Speaker 5: Uh.
- 8:00Speaker 4: I won't leave Kanas City.
- 8:02Speaker 1: Uh.
- 8:03Speaker 4: And and you know what, it's nice, it's convenient. We
- 8:05Speaker 4: have our stores, we bring back some some other grocery stores,
- 8:08Speaker 4: things like that, and it's it's it's for everyone.
- 8:11Speaker 2: That was gonna be my next thing. What's on your
- 8:13Speaker 2: wish list for Kanas City? Champ Well Uh, Drugging Porium.
- 8:17Speaker 2: I think it's recently been purchased. I think it's going
- 8:19Speaker 2: to be renovated. The Kmart property has been purchased. Looks
- 8:24Speaker 2: like We're gonna get a a uh interstate, not a
- 8:30Speaker 2: gas station, not a truck stop, but a uh a
- 8:32Speaker 2: place where we in individuals traveling can jump off the interstate,
- 8:36Speaker 2: buy the gas, food, jump back on. Let me just
- 8:39Speaker 2: stop you right there. It's not BUCkies. Before everybody starts
- 8:43Speaker 2: losing their mind over BUCkies, BUCkies is not coming to
- 8:45Speaker 2: this area. Don't get that even in your head. Okay,
- 8:48Speaker 2: go ahead, it's not a it's we already have our sheets.
- 8:51Speaker 2: It's not a it's not a larger sheets, but things
- 8:54Speaker 2: like that. We just have to continue to do things
- 8:56Speaker 2: for Kanas City. And you know what, I always focus
- 8:59Speaker 2: on Kanos City, but it's about Charleston. Anything we do
- 9:02Speaker 2: in Kanas City for businesses, it benefits Charleston. It all
- 9:05Speaker 2: trickles down. So what we can do for our businesses
- 9:09Speaker 2: now and continue to recruit business with the city and
- 9:11Speaker 2: Audrey and Urban Works, that's what we're here to do.
- 9:15Speaker 2: And I have Rick Caveta from Urban Works is going
- 9:17Speaker 2: to be on the show on Friday. I think he'll
- 9:19Speaker 2: be here joining us on Friday. We're talking to Chad Robinson,
- 9:22Speaker 2: City Councilman. In Ward twenty year in Charleston, a Dave
- 9:24Speaker 2: Island Show on five any line broad to you, imparted
- 9:26Speaker 2: by Pinnacle Consultants. They're hiring. They have two positions available
- 9:29Speaker 2: for field technicians. Experience not required but would be helpful.
- 9:32Speaker 2: Check out Pinnacle Corp dot net for more information or
- 9:34Speaker 2: call them three zero four seven five seven five two
- 9:38Speaker 2: zero four three zero four seven five seven five two
- 9:40Speaker 2: zero four Pinnacle Consultants. What you don't know can hurt you.
- 9:44Speaker 2: Had a text here It says Dave, I haven't been
- 9:45Speaker 2: in Canas City in forever due to the never ending
- 9:47Speaker 2: construction mass. I just go around using the interstate. Is
- 9:50Speaker 2: it finally done?
- 9:51Speaker 4: Come back to want you back? Come eat lunch, get
- 9:55Speaker 4: your gas groceries, Come on back to can I'll see
- 9:59Speaker 4: the macrocil open, ready to go talk.
- 10:02Speaker 2: You and I were talking off the air about the
- 10:04Speaker 2: about how harsh this winter has been. Overall, It's really
- 10:07Speaker 2: not been that bad. It just seems like it because
- 10:10Speaker 2: the snow and ice from that will last storm last
- 10:12Speaker 2: weekend is stall hanging on. How is that area or
- 10:17Speaker 2: how is the city? Because you you serve all of
- 10:18Speaker 2: Charleston being the city council, we even though that's your ward,
- 10:20Speaker 2: how's the city doing when it comes to keeping things going.
- 10:25Speaker 2: We had another little snowfall last night, you know, and
- 10:28Speaker 2: there's always questions about salt and things that nature. I know,
- 10:30Speaker 2: Charleton City Council, I think addressed Monday night and you're
- 10:32Speaker 2: in their meeting. How's the city been doing in off.
- 10:34Speaker 4: First or foremost? You have to thank the guys out
- 10:36Speaker 4: there all all day, all night. I mean they're they're
- 10:38Speaker 4: everywhere the ice, Brent Webster's crew and not you not
- 10:43Speaker 4: to mess just as salt trucks, the refuse getting out
- 10:46Speaker 4: there in the middle of the storms. But overall Charleston
- 10:49Speaker 4: is clear. Uh after a storm last night. I mean
- 10:53Speaker 4: I live on off A fiftieth Street in Kansas City
- 10:56Speaker 4: and mccorkloy Avenue. The state does a good job with
- 10:59Speaker 4: cleaning it. Uh. We still have some back roads that
- 11:02Speaker 4: have ice. But you know, with the limited availability of salt,
- 11:08Speaker 4: which we just as you said, we we did purchase
- 11:11Speaker 4: more salt uh at Monday nights council meeting, but.
- 11:15Speaker 2: Which is not an easy task in and of itself.
- 11:17Speaker 2: Right now, try for sure to get it.
- 11:19Speaker 4: Yeah, the barges were stuck locked out, so we couldn't
- 11:23Speaker 4: get the salt in. We we've brought some ton of
- 11:26Speaker 4: gin on on railroad, but hopefully more to come. But uh,
- 11:30Speaker 4: you know it, it's a long process to storm. The
- 11:33Speaker 4: ice is the worst part. And uh, I think we
- 11:36Speaker 4: did a good job, but we have to everyone has
- 11:39Speaker 4: to understand that with the low temperatures we have had.
- 11:43Speaker 4: Hopefully we it's a past tense that the salt doesn't work,
- 11:47Speaker 4: uh at those lows low of temperatures. So you know,
- 11:51Speaker 4: putting it down is one thing, but going away as another.
- 11:54Speaker 4: With the temperatures the way they were.
- 11:56Speaker 2: Chad, it's always pleasure to have you on the show
- 11:58Speaker 2: to give us some updates some things not only going
- 12:00Speaker 2: on in the ward that you serve in the Kanas
- 12:01Speaker 2: City and that vicinity, but also other things going on
- 12:04Speaker 2: in Charleston. And Charleston is going to come alive again
- 12:07Speaker 2: once we fall out, okay, because before you know it,
- 12:11Speaker 2: the bicycle event will be in town in spring. I've
- 12:14Speaker 2: spent a lot of time talking about Dirty Birds baseball.
- 12:17Speaker 2: They're going to be coming back here. Before you know it,
- 12:19Speaker 2: we'll have regatta and things will start to maybe slowly
- 12:22Speaker 2: get back to normal here in Charleston.
- 12:23Speaker 4: Says too. You know, Charleston is thriving right now under
- 12:26Speaker 4: the Mayor Goodwin's administration and city council. We're lots of activities.
- 12:31Speaker 4: Downtown's booming. You know, hopefully Kanas City we see one
- 12:34Speaker 4: of those events here in twenty twenty six.
- 12:36Speaker 2: Let me ask you this before I let you go.
- 12:38Speaker 2: I don't want to blindside you this, but I do
- 12:40Speaker 2: want to ask you because one of the things we've
- 12:41Speaker 2: talked about on the show a lot over the last
- 12:43Speaker 2: month or two. Actually, let me take that back to
- 12:46Speaker 2: the last five six years that I've been doing the
- 12:48Speaker 2: show is the Town Center. We know that the city
- 12:50Speaker 2: has been talking with her about the Terendo negotiations take
- 12:53Speaker 2: over the town Center. Do you have an opinion on you?
- 12:55Speaker 4: You know what, something had to be done, and the
- 12:58Speaker 4: Mayor Goodwin jumped off the cliff and we're gonna do
- 13:01Speaker 4: that hopefully, hopefully it works out. It will never come
- 13:05Speaker 4: back as the town Center with shopping. It's gonna be
- 13:08Speaker 4: multi use. Uh, there'll be a lot of investors, hopefully.
- 13:11Speaker 3: Uh.
- 13:12Speaker 4: We have to do something for that part of town.
- 13:14Speaker 4: And you know people talk about, uh, it's not like Barbersville.
- 13:19Speaker 4: Well we're not, Charles is not like Barbersville. And we
- 13:23Speaker 4: have to look at different uses of the town Center,
- 13:25Speaker 4: whether it's housing on one level, restaurants on another level.
- 13:29Speaker 4: Uh in some some retail. But it's gonna be a
- 13:33Speaker 4: long discussion, and I applaud the mayor for taking the leap,
- 13:37Speaker 4: and let's let's get it done.
- 13:39Speaker 2: All right, Chad. Because you're you know, you're a Charlestonian.
- 13:42Speaker 2: You can remember the heyday of the town Center like
- 13:44Speaker 2: a lot of us. Even though I'm not from Charleston,
- 13:46Speaker 2: I could definitely remember.
- 13:48Speaker 4: We hung out all the time at the Canal Mall
- 13:50Speaker 4: and the Town Center. That's where we hung out. Yeah,
- 13:52Speaker 4: all right, we did have one more tax i promise,
- 13:54Speaker 4: I'll let you go. TEXTA wanted to know will the
- 13:55Speaker 4: city have to repay the roads with the bike race
- 13:59Speaker 4: coming in each year. There's a list of the twenty
- 14:02Speaker 4: twenty six paving cycle. We should receive that soon and
- 14:06Speaker 4: they do look at the areas of the bike race
- 14:08Speaker 4: to make sure some of those areas are new paved
- 14:12Speaker 4: or have issues from last year. So yeah, those routes
- 14:15Speaker 4: will be looked at all right.
- 14:17Speaker 2: John Robinson, Chauston City Councilman, in word twenty appreciate you
- 14:20Speaker 2: being here as always my friend. Thanks thanks sir. Coming
- 14:22Speaker 2: up a little bit later on Deligate, Andy Shamblin is
- 14:24Speaker 2: going to stop my plus. We are going to talk
- 14:25Speaker 2: to Angie Gildenwater from the Ganahala Charleston Human Association about
- 14:28Speaker 2: this horrific this horrific case. Now the investigation continues, trying
- 14:33Speaker 2: to bring some people to justice for what they did
- 14:34Speaker 2: to that dog that eventually was dropped off the shelter
- 14:37Speaker 2: and eventually lost his life. We are coming back right
- 14:40Speaker 2: after this on the Voice of Charleston WCCHS.

- 16:58Speaker 2: says I've heard a huge water park of the mall
- 17:00Speaker 2: would be huge regional destination. Think about that, well, it could.
- 17:04Speaker 2: It could very well be Texas. I was in Annapolis,
- 17:07Speaker 2: Maryland this weekend. They have a very large indoor mall
- 17:10Speaker 2: with no vacancies and lots of shoppers right in town.
- 17:13Speaker 2: Interesting that malls seem to operate very normally in places
- 17:15Speaker 2: other than in Charlestown, Texter. I will say this if
- 17:21Speaker 2: you don't care, if you could text back. I'm just
- 17:23Speaker 2: kind of curious do they charge for parking there and
- 17:27Speaker 2: does it? Does it adequately compare to the Town Center.
- 17:30Speaker 2: Not taking an issue with you, I'm just asking a question.
- 17:33Speaker 2: I'm just a lot of downtown malls have failed because
- 17:37Speaker 2: that was a model that was very popular in the
- 17:38Speaker 2: late seventies early eighties and it kind of went away.
- 17:40Speaker 2: And I think the point the council when Robinson made
- 17:43Speaker 2: you you can't compare the Huntington Mall or a Southridge
- 17:48Speaker 2: with the model that is the Charlestontown Center. I mean,
- 17:51Speaker 2: it's it's just an unfair comparison in my opinion. You know,
- 17:55Speaker 2: I don't get serious about a whole lot. Now, sure
- 17:56Speaker 2: they don't get upset a lot about much these days,
- 18:00Speaker 2: but so that I do love and get upset about
- 18:02Speaker 2: very easily as animals. And this is a very difficult
- 18:06Speaker 2: story to talk about, but it's the story that needs
- 18:09Speaker 2: to be told and quite frankly, justice needs to be done.
- 18:15Speaker 2: You probably have heard the story by now let me
- 18:21Speaker 2: let me stop. Let me bring an Ange Gillawatter from
- 18:23Speaker 2: a Canalla Charlesty Main Association. Angie normally have you on Friday.
- 18:26Speaker 2: I appreciate you coming in forty eight hours early for
- 18:28Speaker 2: this segment. Thanks a lot for being here.
- 18:31Speaker 9: It's no problem is anything to spread awareness about this story,
- 18:34Speaker 9: I will certainly make happen, all.
- 18:36Speaker 2: Right, So tell us the story. Take us from the
- 18:40Speaker 2: very beginning of the story of this dog named Stubbs.
- 18:44Speaker 9: So Sunday at the animal shelter, somebody had frantically came
- 18:47Speaker 9: in and said that this dog that they had had
- 18:51Speaker 9: been shot and tossed out of a vehicle. And you know,
- 18:55Speaker 9: of course, our team jumped right into action. We didn't
- 18:57Speaker 9: really know what to expect, but we get out to
- 19:01Speaker 9: see the animal and immediately triage it to you know,
- 19:04Speaker 9: our clinic where it can start receiving emergency medical action
- 19:08Speaker 9: to stabilize it, assess how bad these injuries are. And
- 19:13Speaker 9: so our team of one person that day, Rachel. Shout
- 19:17Speaker 9: out to Rachel if you've seen this on the news.
- 19:19Speaker 9: Rachel did a fabulous job stabilizing him by herself essentially
- 19:23Speaker 9: that day, but got Stubbs stabilized and was able to
- 19:29Speaker 9: assess injuries further, create a plan for what we're going
- 19:32Speaker 9: to do. And in that time of you know, the
- 19:36Speaker 9: chaos of getting him stabilized, the person that brought him
- 19:39Speaker 9: in left. They left the building, did not fill out
- 19:42Speaker 9: any paperwork. We didn't get a whole lot more info
- 19:44Speaker 9: about what was going on with Stubbs, if he was
- 19:47Speaker 9: their pet, anything like that. So that is that's caught
- 19:52Speaker 9: us up to about.
- 19:53Speaker 2: Monday, okay, and then take us through Monday.
- 19:57Speaker 9: So Monday, when our veterinarian was back in, our entire
- 20:00Speaker 9: medical staff was able to be there, Stubbs was going
- 20:05Speaker 9: to go through a procedure to remove bullet fragments from
- 20:08Speaker 9: his body, and when he went under anesthesia, his body
- 20:12Speaker 9: just simply gave out on him. He was ready to
- 20:14Speaker 9: let go. So despite our vets efforts and despite our
- 20:19Speaker 9: entire medical team's efforts, he did pass away before we
- 20:23Speaker 9: could even begin surgery on him to repair all the
- 20:28Speaker 9: supervisial wins that he had.
- 20:30Speaker 2: I first saw that story, I think it was Sunday
- 20:33Speaker 2: night when you posted on social media and I spread
- 20:35Speaker 2: and I shared it on my pages, and one of
- 20:37Speaker 2: the other stations, The Mountain, put it on their page
- 20:39Speaker 2: as well, And we were hoping for a good turnout,
- 20:46Speaker 2: good outcome in this and it didn't happen. I thought
- 20:49Speaker 2: it was interesting. I actually saw the piece that you
- 20:51Speaker 2: referenced Rachel that she did with w SAC Television. Actually
- 20:55Speaker 2: saw that on the news last night, and she said,
- 20:58Speaker 2: and this is one of the things I guess that
- 20:59Speaker 2: really up with me. And she she said that even
- 21:02Speaker 2: with what that dog had gone through, he was still
- 21:06Speaker 2: being very loving in her arms and wanted his belly rubbed. Now,
- 21:11Speaker 2: this is a dog that's been shot twice, thrown out
- 21:15Speaker 2: of a vehicle, would have every reason in the world,
- 21:19Speaker 2: I mean, with all those health issues to hate every
- 21:21Speaker 2: human being that ever came around him. And he he
- 21:24Speaker 2: just wanted pett it just like just like a dog.
- 21:26Speaker 2: It had nothing happened to him.
- 21:28Speaker 9: Yeah, just wanted to comfort and love. And that is
- 21:32Speaker 9: something about animals that, like I just I can never
- 21:35Speaker 9: wrap my head around just how loyal they are despite
- 21:39Speaker 9: anything bad that happens to them, because I'll tell you
- 21:41Speaker 9: what I could never. I could never you know, share
- 21:44Speaker 9: love like that, be as loyal as an animal.
- 21:46Speaker 2: No, no, no, there's no way. We're talking to Angie
- 21:48Speaker 2: gilden Water from the kennew Charlestony, Maine Association. The Dave
- 21:51Speaker 2: Allen Show in five at Eline brownshe apired by Bridge
- 21:54Speaker 2: Valley Community Technical College. Visit Bridge Valley dot ed you
- 21:57Speaker 2: Bridge Valley Community Technical College. Your career starts here. Okay,
- 22:00Speaker 2: originally you focus on your social media whatnot. We're asking,
- 22:03Speaker 2: you know, for it, for people to make donations. I'm
- 22:05Speaker 2: sure people came, you know, for the medical bills and whatever.
- 22:08Speaker 2: I even reached out to you and so my wife
- 22:09Speaker 2: and I would gladly make a donation. And then the
- 22:12Speaker 2: dogs succumbed to his injuries. So if people made those donations,
- 22:17Speaker 2: what where does the what happens with the money now?
- 22:21Speaker 9: So Stubbs was not the only critical patient that we
- 22:24Speaker 9: have in our care. He's just one that happened to
- 22:26Speaker 9: get a lot of attention, which is great. He can
- 22:29Speaker 9: bring awareness to the other, you know, the other two
- 22:32Speaker 9: hundred some animals that we are taking care of right now,
- 22:36Speaker 9: and a lot of those guys are critical condition, are
- 22:38Speaker 9: being monitored every day, also need of you know, life
- 22:42Speaker 9: saving surgeries and you know medical care. So any money
- 22:47Speaker 9: that was donated towards Stubbs again since he has, you know,
- 22:50Speaker 9: since passed, money will be used to help other animals
- 22:54Speaker 9: with their medical procedures or even if there's not anything critical,
- 23:00Speaker 9: cool and life saving going on, that money is going
- 23:02Speaker 9: to go towards animals that are healthy but you know
- 23:05Speaker 9: need a vaccination or a fan hooter surgery. So it's
- 23:09Speaker 9: going to be repurposed into helping the community and helping
- 23:12Speaker 9: the animals still and you know, in the name of stubs.
- 23:16Speaker 2: If you will, right, I love that part of it. Okay,
- 23:18Speaker 2: So let's get to the And we don't want to
- 23:20Speaker 2: do or say anything that's going to hamper an investigation,
- 23:23Speaker 2: because there is an ongoing criminal investigation of what we understand.
- 23:26Speaker 2: So what you're telling me is someone just showed up
- 23:29Speaker 2: at the shelter on Sunday, Sunday, afternoon, Sunday evening. What
- 23:32Speaker 2: timeframe was it.
- 23:33Speaker 9: Again, it was the afternoon hours, but before the PM hour. Okay,
- 23:39Speaker 9: we're at at them rage. So I would say anywhere
- 23:41Speaker 9: between one and three, okay, around that time, all right.
- 23:43Speaker 2: So somebody just shows up and they have this dog
- 23:46Speaker 2: and they come in and they say, look, this dog
- 23:48Speaker 2: has been shot and thrown from a car. And while
- 23:55Speaker 2: you were trying to get while Rachel and the folks
- 23:57Speaker 2: were trying to get care for the dog, the person left.
- 24:00Speaker 2: And again, I don't want to do anything that's going
- 24:02Speaker 2: to implicate anyone if this person. You know, we're not
- 24:05Speaker 2: saying that this person did anything wrong or not saying
- 24:07Speaker 2: that they did that we we don't know at this point,
- 24:10Speaker 2: but can can you review video footage of the I mean,
- 24:15Speaker 2: at least I think this person needs to be questioned
- 24:17Speaker 2: just to say, hey, how did you because we don't
- 24:19Speaker 2: even know where this happened, right right?
- 24:22Speaker 9: Correct? We did not get a location from that person,
- 24:26Speaker 9: and it all could be very innecesient. Sure, you might
- 24:28Speaker 9: not have known that they needed to stick around for
- 24:31Speaker 9: us to talk to like it could have been something
- 24:32Speaker 9: as simple as that. So if you did bring in
- 24:35Speaker 9: some please come talk to us. We just have a
- 24:37Speaker 9: couple of questions for you. However, there is video footage
- 24:41Speaker 9: that we can review. One of our directors is the
- 24:44Speaker 9: only person that has access to that, so we are,
- 24:46Speaker 9: you know, talking with her about being able to pull
- 24:49Speaker 9: the footage and narrowing down which person exactly entered the
- 24:52Speaker 9: building with them.
- 24:54Speaker 2: Now, who is in who's conducting the investigation? I'm assuming
- 24:57Speaker 2: Charleston Police Department, right, because the shelter is in is
- 25:01Speaker 2: in the city of Charleston, right, is that who's in
- 25:03Speaker 2: conducting the investigation?
- 25:05Speaker 9: So we are we do fall within the City of
- 25:07Speaker 9: Charleston's jurisdiction. So City of Charleston as well as I
- 25:12Speaker 9: do believe that our own humane officers are also getting
- 25:15Speaker 9: involved just to get as many, you know, as much
- 25:17Speaker 9: feet on the ground as we can in order to
- 25:20Speaker 9: seek justice and find a resolution for stubs.
- 25:23Speaker 2: And this is what this is all about. And again,
- 25:26Speaker 2: if you're the person that turned in that dog, you're
- 25:28Speaker 2: not being accused of anything. But I think they do
- 25:31Speaker 2: have some questions they I mean, because the person said
- 25:34Speaker 2: this dog was hit was shot and hit by car.
- 25:36Speaker 2: I mean, I don't know did did the Again, I
- 25:39Speaker 2: don't want to sound like I'm being judged during an
- 25:41Speaker 2: executioner here, but I mean, but there are questions like
- 25:43Speaker 2: did you personally, sir madam? Did you personally witness this?
- 25:48Speaker 2: Did someone tell you about it? How do you know?
- 25:50Speaker 2: And there was one report that came out on the
- 25:51Speaker 2: news that uh, and you can verify this or you
- 25:54Speaker 2: can or you can deny it that that someone attempted
- 25:58Speaker 2: to run over the dog. Wasn't that part of the
- 26:00Speaker 2: story as well?
- 26:02Speaker 9: Yes, our medical exam I'm sorry, not medical examer are
- 26:05Speaker 9: one of our chief veterinarians. She had taken a look
- 26:08Speaker 9: at subs, you know, of course after he had passed,
- 26:11Speaker 9: just to you know, if anything had been missed, and
- 26:13Speaker 9: he had a lot of bruising on his stomach in
- 26:16Speaker 9: which usually indicates, you know, being hit by a car.
- 26:19Speaker 9: So it may be you know that he wasn't tossed
- 26:21Speaker 9: out of a car, but rather that okay, you know
- 26:23Speaker 9: he was struck by one. So yes, the person that
- 26:28Speaker 9: gave us this information, we just want to know how
- 26:30Speaker 9: you got that, and we want to, you know, take
- 26:34Speaker 9: steps in order to prevent us from happening to another animal.
- 26:38Speaker 2: And please, you know, as I said, Sir Amudam, please
- 26:40Speaker 2: do the right thing. If you were the person that
- 26:43Speaker 2: dropped this dog off up there and you had this information,
- 26:46Speaker 2: I mean, you know, it's great that you that you
- 26:48Speaker 2: did that, but but we we we need they have questions,
- 26:51Speaker 2: I mean, because we want to bring somebody to justice
- 26:55Speaker 2: for this, because people have got to know they cannot
- 26:58Speaker 2: just do this. They cannot just shoot a dog, throw
- 27:01Speaker 2: it out a window, possibly run over it, uh and
- 27:05Speaker 2: and think there's not going to be hell to pay
- 27:06Speaker 2: for it because this I mean, I mean, I'm sorry,
- 27:09Speaker 2: I get a little fired up about this sort of
- 27:11Speaker 2: stuff because I'm an animal lover. You know, you're the lowes,
- 27:13Speaker 2: the person who did this is the lowest piece of
- 27:15Speaker 2: crap that ever lived, and you deserve to be brought
- 27:18Speaker 2: to justice. And quite frankly, in Dave world, you'd have
- 27:21Speaker 2: the same damn thing happened to you that happened to
- 27:23Speaker 2: that dog.
- 27:24Speaker 9: Yeah. Absolutely, I could not agree more if you you know,
- 27:28Speaker 9: cruelty to animals is something that is unforgivable and unexcusable
- 27:32Speaker 9: to me. But yeah, there are laws currently that are
- 27:37Speaker 9: going through that hopefully strengthens animal cruelty laws and you know,
- 27:43Speaker 9: makes it much much easier to seek justice and stronger punishments.
- 27:48Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, I mean absolutely, because here's the thing
- 27:51Speaker 2: about it. If they did it to a dog, they'll
- 27:53Speaker 2: do it to a human, you know. I mean that's
- 27:55Speaker 2: the thing about it. And if you look at the
- 27:57Speaker 2: profile of people that have that have that have armed historically,
- 28:01Speaker 2: that had done horrible things to humans, they did it
- 28:03Speaker 2: to animals too, you know. That's the thing.
- 28:07Speaker 9: Yep. Animals is just the start usually for for people
- 28:11Speaker 9: that you know, committ against other humans, animals is usually
- 28:14Speaker 9: where they start.
- 28:15Speaker 2: So someone said here and I and I appreciate the
- 28:19Speaker 2: chext says, is it possible someone hit the dog with
- 28:21Speaker 2: a car and then shot it out of mercy.
- 28:25Speaker 9: I suppose that that could be an explanation, which again
- 28:29Speaker 9: is going back to that point like, hey, we just
- 28:32Speaker 9: want information, uh you know, and we could This is
- 28:35Speaker 9: why we don't make assumptions and we don't judge. We
- 28:39Speaker 9: just we we have questions and we just want answer.
- 28:42Speaker 9: So that I mean, I suppose that is possible. It's
- 28:44Speaker 9: kind of hard to tell which injury had came first,
- 28:47Speaker 9: whether it was the bruising on the stomach or the
- 28:50Speaker 9: gunshot waves, so it's kind of kind of hard to
- 28:52Speaker 9: make that call. But that could be a possibility.
- 28:55Speaker 2: Well and if that, if that, and again we don't
- 28:57Speaker 2: want to start jumping to conclusions here, but if that
- 28:59Speaker 2: is the case, I mean, the person was a terrible shot.
- 29:03Speaker 2: I mean, apparently they shot the dog twice. And I'm
- 29:05Speaker 2: not trying to you know, I'm not trying to say
- 29:06Speaker 2: that you go shooting animals. I'm just trying to say,
- 29:10Speaker 2: we've all heard stories like that, you know that they
- 29:12Speaker 2: would would would shoot a dog or any kind of
- 29:14Speaker 2: animal to get it out of its misery. We don't
- 29:16Speaker 2: recommend that, but but just saying that that, I appreciate
- 29:21Speaker 2: the text, and I guess it's possible, like you said, Angie,
- 29:23Speaker 2: but I just don't. I don't see that as being
- 29:25Speaker 2: very likely. That's that's just my opinion.
- 29:28Speaker 9: Yeah, like if I could, if there was an easier
- 29:31Speaker 9: way to tell which injury came first, that would be,
- 29:33Speaker 9: you know, such an easy answer. But yeah, everything at
- 29:38Speaker 9: this point is on the table for us to consider.
- 29:41Speaker 9: So any information at all would be very helpful.
- 29:44Speaker 2: So what do people need to do right now? If
- 29:46Speaker 2: they say, hey, I got an idea of who did this,
- 29:50Speaker 2: I got it, I saw this, when again, we have
- 29:52Speaker 2: no idea where it even happened. Okay, this could not
- 29:54Speaker 2: it could have possibly not even been in Kanon County.
- 29:56Speaker 2: It could have been somewhere we don't know. But if
- 29:59Speaker 2: people do have information, or going back to your original point,
- 30:02Speaker 2: agy if they wanted to help in us, what do
- 30:03Speaker 2: they need to do?
- 30:05Speaker 9: So if you have any information, number one, please reach
- 30:08Speaker 9: out to us at ksey h A our phone number
- 30:10Speaker 9: three O four thirty four two one five seven six.
- 30:13Speaker 9: You can remain anonymous. Any information that you have, any
- 30:17Speaker 9: little breadcrumb that you can give us, that would be
- 30:20Speaker 9: extremely helpful. So if you have information regarding Stubs where
- 30:24Speaker 9: he came from, if you recognize him belonging to so
- 30:27Speaker 9: and so. Anything like that would be helpful for us.
- 30:30Speaker 9: And if you want to help in ways of you know,
- 30:34Speaker 9: making sure this doesn't happen to other dogs, or help
- 30:37Speaker 9: us just at the shelter in general, you know, talk
- 30:40Speaker 9: to your lawmakers about animal animal care and animal welfare laws.
- 30:45Speaker 9: And if you want to help us just directly at
- 30:48Speaker 9: the shelter, please come up visit us. You can adopt foster,
- 30:53Speaker 9: donate supplies that we need, volunteer your time, or just
- 30:56Speaker 9: simply spread the word about stubs, the story, spread the
- 30:58Speaker 9: word about adopt animals. Anything, any I mean anything is
- 31:04Speaker 9: going to be helpful to us.
- 31:05Speaker 4: All right.

- 33:14Speaker 2: what happened to this innocent pump should be the last
- 33:16Speaker 2: straw for everybody to sign for people from the shelter,
- 33:19Speaker 2: people from rescues, people from the community to gather at
- 33:21Speaker 2: the Capitol and demand project protection and justice for these
- 33:25Speaker 2: animals and harsher punishment for the human garbage to do
- 33:29Speaker 2: these evil acts to them. This is ridiculous and enough
- 33:31Speaker 2: is enough to these people. One question, why did these animals?
- 33:35Speaker 2: What did these animals ever do to you to deserve
- 33:38Speaker 2: the horror you put them through? By the way, the
- 33:39Speaker 2: answer is always nothing. Text says either way it happens
- 33:43Speaker 2: terrible for the dog. At least he had some love
- 33:45Speaker 2: in his last moments. Yeah, because after after all this,
- 33:49Speaker 2: that's the one thing that struck me about this story, guys,
- 33:51Speaker 2: is the one after this dog had gone through all this,
- 33:55Speaker 2: and if you saw the story on WSAs last night,
- 33:59Speaker 2: the dog just wanted petted and was loving after he
- 34:03Speaker 2: had been shot we think twice, and either thrown from
- 34:07Speaker 2: a car or run over by a car. I mean,
- 34:10Speaker 2: he still just wanted his belly rupped. I mean, it's
- 34:14Speaker 2: unbelievable to me. Welcome into the show now, Republican Delegate
- 34:17Speaker 2: from the fifty ninth Andy Shamling, Good morning, sir, Welcome
- 34:19Speaker 2: to the show.
- 34:20Speaker 4: Good morning, Dave.
- 34:21Speaker 10: Good to be on with you.
- 34:22Speaker 2: Thank you for being here. So you got something that
- 34:28Speaker 2: you told me in a test called a blue envelope bill.
- 34:30Speaker 2: What's a blue envelope bill?
- 34:31Speaker 10: The blue envelope bill is a attempt by my colleague,
- 34:35Speaker 10: Delegate Walter Hall, who I'm co sponsoring the bill with.
- 34:40Speaker 10: It basically is going to give an outlet to those
- 34:43Speaker 10: who have any type of spectrum disorder to have the
- 34:47Speaker 10: ability to put a blue dot on their windshield along
- 34:51Speaker 10: with blue envelope basically for ensuring that they have a
- 34:55Speaker 10: better interaction with any law enforcement that they might encounter.
- 35:00Speaker 2: Okay, where did this uh? You said it was from
- 35:02Speaker 2: Walter Hall. Where did this whole idea come from?
- 35:04Speaker 4: This?
- 35:05Speaker 10: This is a concept that a few other states have
- 35:07Speaker 10: also recently adopted.
- 35:09Speaker 8: Uh.
- 35:09Speaker 10: And it's it's a concept that those in the disability
- 35:13Speaker 10: rights community are very much in fav.
- 35:15Speaker 2: I mean, I could I could see where that would
- 35:17Speaker 2: be problematic for somebody that gets pulled over by the
- 35:20Speaker 2: police traffic violation I'm talking about and not being able
- 35:25Speaker 2: to handle things, handling things differently, I'll put it that way.
- 35:28Speaker 10: Right, I think I think it just gives And also
- 35:32Speaker 10: to clarify that it's a totally voluntary program, so we're
- 35:35Speaker 10: not mandating that participate in it. I know some people said, oh,
- 35:38Speaker 10: you're you know, this.
- 35:39Speaker 2: Is Scarlett letter type thing.
- 35:42Speaker 1: It's not at all.
- 35:43Speaker 10: And I think it goes back to the old saying
- 35:45Speaker 10: information is power, and if we can inform law enforcement,
- 35:50Speaker 10: if we can help educate the public more about how
- 35:54Speaker 10: those with disabilities have some unique challenges and and and
- 35:58Speaker 10: we want them to be fully adaptable and be able
- 36:01Speaker 10: to function in society. And I think this is just
- 36:02Speaker 10: another way. This is another tool in the tool box
- 36:06Speaker 10: towards that goal.
- 36:07Speaker 2: Speaking to knowledge. And you've been on the show for
- 36:10Speaker 2: you know, you're a teacher by trade. You and I
- 36:12Speaker 2: met actually at Nitral High School when I used to
- 36:14Speaker 2: come to your classes and do voter registration drive drives.
- 36:17Speaker 2: There were a few years, uh, there was talk about
- 36:21Speaker 2: making municipal elections in West Virginia partisan. Now some cities
- 36:26Speaker 2: already do that, but not all cities do that every city.
- 36:29Speaker 2: What I learned at my time in the Secretary of
- 36:31Speaker 2: State's office is that every city does things differently according
- 36:35Speaker 2: to their charters. Sometimes charters even trump state law. You know,
- 36:39Speaker 2: on various things. Some cities are partisans, some are not.
- 36:43Speaker 2: As a city councilman that you are in Nitro in
- 36:46Speaker 2: addition to being a legislator, in addition to be when
- 36:48Speaker 2: do you sleep by the way not enough? What are
- 36:52Speaker 2: your thoughts on that municipal elections partisan?
- 36:57Speaker 10: That's not a new debate in the legislature. That has
- 36:59Speaker 10: been proposed every year that I've been there. And you know,
- 37:04Speaker 10: the idea that some have is is we want to
- 37:06Speaker 10: put labels on all local officials and as you point
- 37:10Speaker 10: at political partisan labels. As you pointed out, some cities
- 37:13Speaker 10: are partisan, many of the larger cities all are, Charles
- 37:17Speaker 10: says Huntington is a few others are. But my thoughts
- 37:22Speaker 10: on it are pretty simple. In the fourteen years that
- 37:25Speaker 10: I've been on city council, I have I don't recall
- 37:30Speaker 10: any time in which our city council has had a
- 37:32Speaker 10: partisan argument or a partisan disagreement. And in our society
- 37:38Speaker 10: today in which we are just continually like both sides
- 37:41Speaker 10: and no one's free from blame, and both sides are
- 37:45Speaker 10: just continually hammering away with each other, what we're seeing,
- 37:49Speaker 10: I think, even at the legislative level, is we're continuing
- 37:52Speaker 10: to nationalize our political discourse, and this, in my opinion,
- 37:56Speaker 10: is another step towards nationalizing local politics and bringing partisan
- 38:02Speaker 10: issues to communities to divide people when those communities have
- 38:07Speaker 10: said in the past they.
- 38:08Speaker 1: Don't want them.
- 38:09Speaker 10: I mean, these community cities now have the ability if
- 38:13Speaker 10: they want to have a partisan election. They have that
- 38:15Speaker 10: ability to do that now under state law, and for
- 38:19Speaker 10: us to mandate it is in my judgment, a very
- 38:24Speaker 10: poor decision, because just because you can do something doesn't
- 38:29Speaker 10: mean you should.
- 38:29Speaker 2: Now where does it stand now?
- 38:31Speaker 10: Currently that bill is in the Judiciary committee. Okay, it
- 38:35Speaker 10: has not come out well.
- 38:36Speaker 2: And I think you've got a unique perspective, as I said,
- 38:38Speaker 2: because in addition to the legislature, you're also a teacher,
- 38:40Speaker 2: but you're also you served on a Nitro city council
- 38:45Speaker 2: for some time. And I would like to think, and
- 38:47Speaker 2: I don't know what your campaign style is, but I
- 38:49Speaker 2: like to think that when you're going out in campaigning,
- 38:51Speaker 2: do or not I can do whatever you're doing. No
- 38:53Speaker 2: one has ever asked you what you thought about Greenland
- 38:55Speaker 2: or Venezuela or pro life or you know whatever.
- 38:59Speaker 6: I mean.
- 38:59Speaker 2: I would think you're a city councilman. Your your job
- 39:02Speaker 2: is to fix potholes. Uh, it's to work on traffic issues,
- 39:06Speaker 2: which we'll get to because it's cross lanes. We'll get
- 39:08Speaker 2: to that here in a moment. That's what your job is.
- 39:10Speaker 2: It is shouldn't in my opinion, it shouldn't matter what
- 39:13Speaker 2: your party is. I mean, if you somebody ask you
- 39:15Speaker 2: or any other person, you'll tell them, I'm sure, But
- 39:18Speaker 2: but I mean, what difference does it make work on
- 39:20Speaker 2: the sewers, work on the parks. It's not you know,
- 39:23Speaker 2: it's not it's not about these national issues where.
- 39:25Speaker 10: You're going to put apart how you're going to fund
- 39:27Speaker 10: the police and fire department, what projects the community is
- 39:31Speaker 10: going to be engaged in are not partisan issues. Those
- 39:36Speaker 10: issues shouldn't know an ideology, right right theory. So so
- 39:41Speaker 10: that's an issue that I think we need to pay
- 39:42Speaker 10: attention to.
- 39:43Speaker 2: What other things have kind of got your attention under
- 39:45Speaker 2: the dome. Then we'll we'll go back to cross lanes traffic.
- 39:48Speaker 2: Everybody's face every time I say every time I say
- 39:50Speaker 2: cross lanes traffic on the air, I picture in my
- 39:52Speaker 2: head the Jimmy Hendrick song, you know, a crosstown traffic.
- 39:56Speaker 2: But uh, we'll talk about cross Vegas in a moment.
- 39:59Speaker 2: But uh, but let's talk about some other things that
- 40:01Speaker 2: have kind of got your attention of the dum well.
- 40:04Speaker 10: Of course, one of the biggest topics right now is
- 40:07Speaker 10: a potential tax cut, and we're continuing to evaluate the
- 40:13Speaker 10: feasibility of that. I am for responsible tax cuts. I
- 40:18Speaker 10: think we have to weigh a lot of different equities.
- 40:21Speaker 10: I think the budget this year is going to be challenging.
- 40:24Speaker 10: We're considering pay raises, we have so many infrastructure challenges,
- 40:30Speaker 10: I mean alluding to cross lanes. It's not only cross lanes,
- 40:33Speaker 10: it's all across the state, and I think we need
- 40:35Speaker 10: to be very cautious in our approach to this year's budget,
- 40:40Speaker 10: and of course, zooming out for a second, I mean,
- 40:43Speaker 10: the House is larger focus has been on running bills
- 40:49Speaker 10: that will better the state's economy, Improving industrial access roads,
- 40:54Speaker 10: improving the amount of grant money that we give to
- 40:56Speaker 10: that program, several other economic folk focused job bills that
- 41:02Speaker 10: our caucus has prioritized.
- 41:04Speaker 2: All Right, the governor's tax proposal that's been floated out there,
- 41:08Speaker 2: we've talked about on this show another page. Where are
- 41:10Speaker 2: you on that?
- 41:11Speaker 10: As I mentioned, I mean, I'm I'm I'm evaluating all
- 41:14Speaker 10: the information on that and trying to be cautiously optimistic,
- 41:20Speaker 10: but at the same time, I'm a little bit skeptical
- 41:23Speaker 10: that we can get there. I don't know that we
- 41:25Speaker 10: can get to ten percent.
- 41:26Speaker 2: All right, cross lane traffic. Just to get to you
- 41:30Speaker 2: nod to Jimi Hendrix, there's what's going on. Well, the.
- 41:36Speaker 10: So they sort of have completed it in reverse order.
- 41:40Speaker 10: That's what someone said to me the other day. Because
- 41:42Speaker 10: if you if you visualize the cross lanes traffic project
- 41:45Speaker 10: from the Interstate to Kroger to where aj is where
- 41:50Speaker 10: it ends. That second section has been more or less completed.
- 41:55Speaker 10: There's still some work to do there, but the consequence
- 41:58Speaker 10: of that second section being completed from the four Way
- 42:01Speaker 10: stop to Kroger has been a new traffic pattern, and
- 42:05Speaker 10: that's been pretty confusing for people to grasp. There's now
- 42:09Speaker 10: four lanes, so it's been pretty confusing on that end.
- 42:14Speaker 10: The first section, which is by City National Bank, that's
- 42:17Speaker 10: the focus now from there to the four way stop
- 42:21Speaker 10: and the completion state. The completion date rather is still
- 42:25Speaker 10: February twenty twenty seven, so about a year from now,
- 42:29Speaker 10: if all goes well, it should be finished.
- 42:31Speaker 2: And we'll still have snow and ice on the ground
- 42:33Speaker 2: by that point.
- 42:35Speaker 10: I mean this arctic Arctic blast or the Snowmageddon.
- 42:40Speaker 2: And Kanah County of course, was on Remote Learning Day
- 42:43Speaker 2: again today as a and I know you take a
- 42:45Speaker 2: leave to go serve with the legislature, but you still
- 42:48Speaker 2: you don't stop being a teacher. So where are you
- 42:51Speaker 2: on the remote learning thing and the amount of time
- 42:54Speaker 2: people are outside the classroom the kids. I mean, I
- 42:56Speaker 2: know it can't be helped. I get that. But in
- 42:58Speaker 2: a perfect world, I should say, well.
- 43:00Speaker 10: In a perfect world, and you know, nothing's perfect, right, Dave,
- 43:05Speaker 10: In a perfect world, every student would be in a
- 43:07Speaker 10: classroom learning remote learning. I mean, I will say.
- 43:12Speaker 2: This some there is a sect there, There is.
- 43:17Speaker 10: A segment of our student population that learns well online.
- 43:23Speaker 10: But most students benefit tremendously from being in a classroom,
- 43:29Speaker 10: in a classroom setting where they can interact with each other,
- 43:32Speaker 10: where they can interact with their teachers. And I just
- 43:34Speaker 10: think absorbing information in that setting is much easier than
- 43:38Speaker 10: setting on your phone or iPad or on a device
- 43:42Speaker 10: of some sort at home.
- 43:43Speaker 2: It just I mean, and we'll close to this. It's
- 43:45Speaker 2: just kind of like people working from home and working
- 43:47Speaker 2: not working from home. I mean, some people thrive in
- 43:49Speaker 2: a work at home setting and then some people, yeah,
- 43:51Speaker 2: not so much. So that's right, don't get Andy Sham.
- 43:54Speaker 2: It's always a pleasure to have you on a show

- 47:17Speaker 2: and belly rubbs after the hell that he had just
- 47:19Speaker 2: gone through is more proof of just how so much
- 47:22Speaker 2: better animals are than people. Try out your wings and
- 47:25Speaker 2: fly high now, sweet Stubs, says a Texter. Texas Dave
- 47:28Speaker 2: read yesterday that a Trump appointed attorney in DC said
- 47:32Speaker 2: if anyone brings a gun to DC, they'll be arrested
- 47:34Speaker 2: and may not get their gun back. Sounds like to me,
- 47:36Speaker 2: Trump is coming for our guns, Dave. Lawmakers need to
- 47:39Speaker 2: stop putting law enforcement in situations where they are in
- 47:42Speaker 2: the middle of party politics and dividing communities. Tex says
- 47:46Speaker 2: a mandated blue dot on the windshield for people on
- 47:48Speaker 2: the spectrum would be more akin to a yellow star
- 47:50Speaker 2: of David with this current federal administration. It's not mandated. Texture,

- 48:16Speaker 2: up over this stub story.
- 48:17Speaker 12: I am, I'm just beyond words. I mean, it's a dog.
- 48:25Speaker 12: I mean all it wants to do is be petted,
- 48:28Speaker 12: get its stomach, rub, maybe chew on something, you know
- 48:32Speaker 12: what a dou much like us. Yeah, I mean what
- 48:35Speaker 12: do you do piss off the person who had it,
- 48:38Speaker 12: pee on the floor, you know, chew on something. And
- 48:42Speaker 12: this is completely unacceptable.
- 48:44Speaker 2: I mean anytime that because you and I aren't known
- 48:46Speaker 2: for our seriousness. I mean, let's be honest with you.
- 48:49Speaker 2: But you and I were going back and forth on
- 48:50Speaker 2: this thing yesterday to the point of almost vigilantiism, which
- 48:53Speaker 2: we want to watch and we want to watch that
- 48:55Speaker 2: there's an investigation going on. There is an investigation going on,
- 48:58Speaker 2: and we still don't know the person that dropped off
- 48:59Speaker 2: the dog. And you probably didn't get to hear the interview.
- 49:02Speaker 2: Angie said that they that they're trying to, you know,
- 49:05Speaker 2: they just want to talk to that person. And you know, look,
- 49:07Speaker 2: that person may not be guilty. That person may have
- 49:09Speaker 2: found the dog, witnessed or whatever, but they at least
- 49:12Speaker 2: need to talk.
- 49:13Speaker 12: Somebody knows, and somebody has seen this dog, like you know,
- 49:16Speaker 12: it's it just didn't appear out of nowhere. Somebody has
- 49:20Speaker 12: seen this dog. A neighbor, maybe a kid, a friend,
- 49:23Speaker 12: a family man. And I'm sure if somebody does know
- 49:27Speaker 12: whose dog this was, and maybe they are afraid to
- 49:30Speaker 12: come forward, maybe we can do something to assist.
- 49:34Speaker 2: Contact the Kana Charles Human Association if you get any
- 49:38Speaker 2: more information on this, and again if those of you,
- 49:41Speaker 2: as Angie said, they have a fund set up in
