- 0:15Speaker 1: Welcome to Patriots Unfiltered. First time all year. They got
- 0:20Speaker 1: me into a negative spot.
- 0:22Speaker 2: What happened?
- 0:22Speaker 1: Like I had sort of made a comment that you know,
- 0:25Speaker 1: it was little eye opening how much the whole team
- 0:27Speaker 1: sort of dipped alongside Drake May in the second half
- 0:30Speaker 1: of the Atlanta game, Concerned that there's too much on
- 0:33Speaker 1: Drake May. Fulger immediately goes so Paul thinks they're putting
- 0:35Speaker 1: too much on Drake May. I'm like, that's not what
- 0:37Speaker 1: I said.
- 0:38Speaker 2: We have a guy now, who is the guy?
- 0:41Speaker 3: What?
- 0:41Speaker 1: I don't come a superstar. We don't care for No,
- 0:44Speaker 1: I don't care for all this national media.
- 0:46Speaker 4: And I'm not trying to victory lab but like, oh boy,
- 0:49Speaker 4: if you watch him in college.
- 0:51Speaker 1: You were as big of Aim as I was. Everybody
- 0:55Speaker 1: else sees it the way I do.
- 0:56Speaker 5: I love the hot dogs. If you give me a
- 0:58Speaker 5: hot dog with brown mustards our crowd.
- 1:00Speaker 2: Every days, No, no, just sour kraut and brown mustard.
- 1:06Speaker 1: He's now finger wagging you Christian.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Something going on here.
- 1:09Speaker 4: Something's going on here selling the cheese.
- 1:11Speaker 1: I just asked what the fishiness would be.
- 1:14Speaker 2: They can change their mind based on Yeah.
- 1:17Speaker 4: But it's the it's the blowing like profusive priests. I'm sorry,
- 1:22Speaker 4: like these people that were thank you.
- 1:24Speaker 1: Sure. This is Patriot's Unfiltered, presented by Toyota's official website.
- 1:29Speaker 6: For deals, buy a Toyota dot com.
- 1:34Speaker 2: All right, welcome to Patriots Unfiltered. It is Tuesday here
- 1:39Speaker 2: at Jillette Stadium, but for football it's a Friday. For us,
- 1:44Speaker 2: it's still kind of a Tuesday. But tomorrow's Wednesday will
- 1:46Speaker 2: be like a Thursday. Yes, are you following me? It's
- 1:49Speaker 2: kind of a Wednesday a little bit.
- 1:50Speaker 6: Yeah, today's Friday, Yeah, Friday or football it's Friday or Tuesday.
- 1:54Speaker 2: Yeah. Uh.
- 1:55Speaker 5: For Evan, every day is all twenty two days.
- 1:58Speaker 1: He's football.
- 1:59Speaker 5: Yeah, Evan, Paul me deuce And what do we owe
- 2:03Speaker 5: the pleasure?
- 2:03Speaker 2: Alex?
- 2:04Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 2:05Speaker 5: The desk is here, okay, you figured you just sit.
- 2:08Speaker 6: There's a seat ready that the microphones ready, and then
- 2:10Speaker 6: we have the seats.
- 2:11Speaker 5: We don't have enough fo Okay, yeah.
- 2:13Speaker 7: All right, I've always wanted to Tuesday show.
- 2:17Speaker 2: There you go Tuesday show, a postgame show.
- 2:19Speaker 7: Evn't had me fired up today. We had a good
- 2:22Speaker 7: powow this morning. So I figured with Jerrie, well.
- 2:24Speaker 5: We've got a lot to talk about.
- 2:26Speaker 2: I missed out first and foremost, I have to make
- 2:29Speaker 2: my public apology for not picking the Patriots this week.
- 2:34Speaker 2: I sincerely regret my actions. You got to pick against
- 2:39Speaker 2: them once in.
- 2:39Speaker 1: A while, No, and I did. Fred walked in my
- 2:41Speaker 1: office about half hour ago, and you were a little down. Yeah,
- 2:44Speaker 1: And I was looking. I was like, what's the matter,
- 2:46Speaker 1: And I said, oh, I know you're you're a little
- 2:49Speaker 1: bit upset with yourself for not having faith in the boys.
- 2:52Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:53Speaker 6: Did you pick a widespread thread in that game?
- 2:55Speaker 1: Was it?
- 2:55Speaker 2: I was like twenty nine twenty one or something like that.
- 2:59Speaker 6: That's your thing, Paul gonna it's gonna be a close game.
- 3:01Speaker 1: Just pick the Patriots, right, No, I mean I don't
- 3:04Speaker 1: always adhere to that. I picked a close game that
- 3:06Speaker 1: Tampa was going to lose. I mean Tampa was gonna win.
- 3:09Speaker 1: I said twenty to twenty. And Paul doesn't feel shame
- 3:11Speaker 1: about it.
- 3:12Speaker 2: But I love being wrong when I picked all year.
- 3:14Speaker 1: So now you let down the boys.
- 3:17Speaker 5: Yeah, So or.
- 3:19Speaker 1: You gave them Bolton for the material. They're like like
- 3:21Speaker 1: our own guy.
- 3:22Speaker 2: Yeah, oh man, isn't that the guy that comes in
- 3:25Speaker 2: every once in a while to give us morale boost
- 3:27Speaker 2: on Fridays?
- 3:27Speaker 5: Yeah, he picked against us.
- 3:30Speaker 1: The morale boost guy. Here he comes again, even the
- 3:34Speaker 1: most guy that the guy morale's fine, frank Man who
- 3:40Speaker 1: is supposed to boost off.
- 3:41Speaker 2: But in all seriously, it was it was a weird game.
- 3:44Speaker 2: I thought, you know, because you want it on X plays.
- 3:47Speaker 2: It was a good Evan would say.
- 3:49Speaker 1: Yeah, they definitely want it on X plays.
- 3:52Speaker 2: But I think I think the defense won the day
- 3:55Speaker 2: on this one defense. You guys, would you agree.
- 3:57Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah they did. I mean that was just these
- 4:00Speaker 6: games are hard. I mean, it's a whole new defense.
- 4:03Speaker 6: It's a whole new style of quarterback you're watching. And
- 4:04Speaker 6: I think I've had a little bit of a learning
- 4:06Speaker 6: curve of accepting, you know, how it kind of goes.
- 4:08Speaker 6: And but I'm fully believing in this this defense now
- 4:12Speaker 6: in clutch situations and stopping the run. And you know,
- 4:15Speaker 6: Drake May it just continues to amaze and make throws
- 4:18Speaker 6: every week that just drop your jaw. And you know,
- 4:21Speaker 6: way back when whenever it made fun of me, like, oh,
- 4:23Speaker 6: it'll be fun, Like I didn't know for sure we
- 4:24Speaker 6: get to this point, But right now it's feeling pretty fun.
- 4:27Speaker 6: I'm not saying that I was right.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Whoa. We were lucky to get back to this point.
- 4:32Speaker 6: This is the most fun I've had and since I
- 4:34Speaker 6: got into this job.
- 4:35Speaker 1: I mean, this was fun.
- 4:36Speaker 6: You know, even when I got in twenty nineteen. They
- 4:38Speaker 6: just come off a super Bowl, but the vibes were crap,
- 4:40Speaker 6: like you know, and you could feel it the whole
- 4:43Speaker 6: season long. And this is like, yeah, young quarterback, you
- 4:47Speaker 6: go in the locker room, everybody we've regained and you know,
- 4:51Speaker 6: I guess to agree, but to me, it just feels
- 4:54Speaker 6: so different right now of just the vibes around the team,
- 4:58Speaker 6: you know, when you just you've gotten rid of all
- 5:00Speaker 6: of Look, I don't want to make this to sound
- 5:02Speaker 6: the wrong way, like they did amazing things for twenty
- 5:04Speaker 6: years and one championships, but by the end, there was
- 5:06Speaker 6: a lot of baggage with that team and there, you know,
- 5:08Speaker 6: for various reasons, there were things that you know have
- 5:10Speaker 6: but there's always that like there's nothing at this particular moment.
- 5:15Speaker 1: Exciting.
- 5:16Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, we're out of the shadow.
- 5:18Speaker 6: You know, I'm excited, and uh, you know, it's just
- 5:21Speaker 6: continuing to watch Drake get better every week.
- 5:23Speaker 1: That's what what what I'm hoping for.
- 5:25Speaker 6: And you know, I think the big line that thing
- 5:27Speaker 6: is right now, I'm just hoping the team's healthy.
- 5:28Speaker 1: There's a lot of injuries.
- 5:29Speaker 2: Austin Hooper miss you know.
- 5:31Speaker 6: You don't know it, says ramondra Stevenson limited cation booty
- 5:34Speaker 6: limited in a walkthrough. Does that mean that they would
- 5:36Speaker 6: have participated in a non one I don't know, So
- 5:38Speaker 6: I don't know exactly what on a short week, what
- 5:41Speaker 6: any of those health status is Terarell Jennings another one.
- 5:44Speaker 1: So that's what we'll you know, wait to see here
- 5:46Speaker 1: over the next couple of days. But otherwise, if.
- 5:48Speaker 6: They can just get through this game and get a
- 5:49Speaker 6: win and get to nine wins and have a weekend
- 5:52Speaker 6: off and maybe refocus.
- 5:53Speaker 1: A little bit, it's good.
- 5:55Speaker 2: Yeah. And I know it's just I know it's just
- 5:59Speaker 2: one catch, but I I still can't get over how
- 6:02Speaker 2: quickly Kyle Williams got up to top speed. It's not
- 6:06Speaker 2: just a flat out speed, it's boom. It's like he
- 6:09Speaker 2: was shot out of a cannon. It happened so.
- 6:11Speaker 7: Fast, there's like a visible power surge.
- 6:13Speaker 5: Yeah, and so that was amazing.
- 6:15Speaker 2: And then you know, having a running back who doesn't
- 6:18Speaker 2: get caught from behind on open runs.
- 6:21Speaker 6: It's just enough to look at the side.
- 6:24Speaker 1: I don't know, I said it Sunday. I don't know
- 6:27Speaker 1: that I've ever seen that. It's a refreshing the sideline
- 6:30Speaker 1: for instruction.
- 6:31Speaker 2: And we haven't.
- 6:32Speaker 5: And we'll get into that.
- 6:33Speaker 2: Because Paul's School of clock Management, a lot of people
- 6:36Speaker 2: are asking in. Some of these are graduates from your school.
- 6:40Speaker 2: They still are confused, but they want to know if
- 6:44Speaker 2: he did the right thing or what they told him
- 6:46Speaker 2: to do was the right thing. And we can go
- 6:48Speaker 2: back and forth on.
- 6:48Speaker 1: Just so you know, there's a lot of uncertainty, not
- 6:51Speaker 1: on what what was right or wrong to do, but
- 6:53Speaker 1: on what he was being told to do.
- 6:55Speaker 6: Even he said it was kind of mixed.
- 6:56Speaker 4: I think he called him to get down, okay, but
- 7:00Speaker 4: I think so they would have had to call the
- 7:02Speaker 4: time out after that play. If you go sixty seven
- 7:07Speaker 4: yards instead of sixty nine, then that burns their second
- 7:10Speaker 4: time out, and then you could just kneel it out.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Right correct, right, So if you kneeled it down, the
- 7:14Speaker 1: game would have been over. Yeah, Now, it would have.
- 7:17Speaker 4: Helped if the defense didn't give up a touchdown driving
- 7:20Speaker 4: thirty second.
- 7:20Speaker 1: And I'm also you know that, and I said this
- 7:22Speaker 1: live while it happened with Mike and you guys know
- 7:26Speaker 1: that I tend to glom onto those stupid minutia kind.
- 7:29Speaker 4: Of it's good because it's a blind spot for me.
- 7:32Speaker 1: But I would not kill a kid for running sixty
- 7:35Speaker 1: whatever yards what was it sixty nine yards?
- 7:37Speaker 2: Yet?
- 7:37Speaker 8: Nice?
- 7:38Speaker 1: Nice for a touchdown to put the game away. Like,
- 7:41Speaker 1: I'm not going to sit there and say, like if
- 7:43Speaker 1: if they had allowed the on side kick to get
- 7:45Speaker 1: recovered in another touchdown, I would not hang that loss
- 7:48Speaker 1: on Trevion Henderson from running into the end zone. You know,
- 7:51Speaker 1: you see what I'm saying. Yes, if he kneels down,
- 7:54Speaker 1: game's over, but games should be over either way.
- 7:58Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I think that's the biggest thing I see.
- 8:03Speaker 4: And the stats are starting to back it up, Like
- 8:06Speaker 4: you see the method to the madness with the way
- 8:08Speaker 4: they're playing defense. The early down zones, the X plays
- 8:12Speaker 4: fred or are coming way down over the last month
- 8:15Speaker 4: or so, so they're not giving up as many chunk
- 8:17Speaker 4: plays on defense, and then once they get into third down.
- 8:20Speaker 4: They're fitth in the league right now on third down.
- 8:22Speaker 4: So once they get into third down, that's when the
- 8:24Speaker 4: band coverage comes out. That's when the aggressiveness comes out,
- 8:27Speaker 4: and they're getting off the field.
- 8:28Speaker 1: So you see the bend don't break ness.
- 8:31Speaker 4: But it's kind of interesting because it's like they don't
- 8:34Speaker 4: break they get to the other side of the fifty,
- 8:36Speaker 4: and then at like the forty they stall out out
- 8:39Speaker 4: the opponent because once they get in the red zone,
- 8:41Speaker 4: everybody's scoring on it in the red zone.
- 8:43Speaker 1: So it's really not like right, it's weird.
- 8:47Speaker 4: They are probably the best like fifty to thirty field
- 8:51Speaker 4: position defense in football, and they're the worst red zone defense.
- 8:55Speaker 4: It's very bizarre, and I get how it's frustrating this
- 9:00Speaker 4: and after further review to watch them give up some
- 9:03Speaker 4: of those like outs and hitches and things underneath these
- 9:06Speaker 4: soft zone coverages that it looks it looks too easy,
- 9:10Speaker 4: like it looks like this is there's no resistance, but
- 9:13Speaker 4: there is a method to it where they're getting the
- 9:18Speaker 4: they stop the run. So they are good. They're good
- 9:20Speaker 4: run defense. Uh, they're getting much better at limiting explosive plays,
- 9:25Speaker 4: and they're good third down defense. So when you combine
- 9:27Speaker 4: those three factors with a high powered offense, you get
- 9:31Speaker 4: a seven game winning streak like that. That's a nice
- 9:33Speaker 4: formula to have in today's NFL. You know, if you're looking.
- 9:36Speaker 2: For this everything away something you said there, Yeah, is
- 9:40Speaker 2: it a high powered offense at this point.
- 9:43Speaker 4: Yeah, they're top ten and pretty much everything. Yeah, they're
- 9:47Speaker 4: they're one of the Yeah, they're one of the most
- 9:49Speaker 4: explosive off the league. Oh, they're just averaging like twenty
- 9:53Speaker 4: seven points a game.
- 9:55Speaker 2: Well, does that include you know, the easy the defensive
- 9:58Speaker 2: scores or special teams scol or all that stuff when.
- 10:01Speaker 4: They I mean outside of Marcus Jones's punt returns, they
- 10:03Speaker 4: don't really have very many and Gibson's kick off return.
- 10:06Speaker 5: Yeah, so you sound skeptical.
- 10:09Speaker 2: I mean they didn't. We We've said on this show
- 10:12Speaker 2: that usually they're in the low twenties low you know.
- 10:15Speaker 1: Yeah, without the other stuff. But I but that's their
- 10:18Speaker 1: offense is top whatever. The number is ten seven, like, yeah,
- 10:24Speaker 1: I can only go by with the rest of the league.
- 10:26Speaker 6: Yeah, there are ten points eighthan yards.
- 10:28Speaker 1: Yeah, points, you said.
- 10:30Speaker 2: Mike.
- 10:32Speaker 7: All the deep balls Drake May is throwing this year.
- 10:35Speaker 7: It feels like every game there's like two or three.
- 10:37Speaker 1: Yeah, No, I don't know, if you know, high powered,
- 10:41Speaker 1: I don't know, like if I think it's all up
- 10:44Speaker 1: to you know, the descriptions you want to use. But
- 10:47Speaker 1: they're top ten. They haven't almost.
- 10:49Speaker 4: They are a difficult offense to defend well that I
- 10:51Speaker 4: would agree with, and they're an explosive play machine on offense.
- 10:56Speaker 5: On Sunday, I think they had a little bit of
- 10:58Speaker 5: a down day, you know.
- 11:00Speaker 4: I think if they had played like this, I don't know,
- 11:04Speaker 4: like if you if you if this was how They've
- 11:07Speaker 4: won it in all different ways at this point, right,
- 11:10Speaker 4: So like some games are just going to kind of
- 11:12Speaker 4: go differently than others. You know, it's a good defense
- 11:15Speaker 4: that Bucks have.
- 11:16Speaker 2: It.
- 11:16Speaker 4: You're not a defense that you're going to string plays
- 11:19Speaker 4: against on a consistent basis. So when you hit, you know,
- 11:23Speaker 4: three fifty plus yard chunks on a defense like that,
- 11:26Speaker 4: it's hard to say that they if I'm.
- 11:28Speaker 5: Like that, who calls the plays for the Bucks on offense?
- 11:33Speaker 4: On offense? Jonathan Grenard is his name?
- 11:36Speaker 5: Okay, I don't know.
- 11:37Speaker 2: First I was a fan, I'd be pissed at him
- 11:39Speaker 2: this week because I think I'm sorry, I'm sorry I
- 11:43Speaker 2: got this the other way around. Who calls the defensive
- 11:46Speaker 2: that Todd Bowles? Okay, I'm I'd be mad at him
- 11:49Speaker 2: because I think I thought that there were times where
- 11:51Speaker 2: he was aggressive where he didn't need to be, and
- 11:54Speaker 2: I think they paid for that.
- 11:55Speaker 1: I liked his plan, I didn't like his decision to
- 11:58Speaker 1: sit out his best player periodically, like Jamel Dean's on
- 12:03Speaker 1: the sideline while someone's getting their varsity letter and getting
- 12:06Speaker 1: torch with seventy to the.
- 12:07Speaker 6: Weird moment in the game, said he really wanted to
- 12:10Speaker 6: rotate his best player.
- 12:11Speaker 1: And in fairness to Todd Bowles, that doesn't make sense
- 12:13Speaker 1: to me. I think there's more to the story. Something
- 12:15Speaker 1: either happened to jim El Dean or something that doesn't
- 12:18Speaker 1: seem like the right story. I actually thought makes sense
- 12:21Speaker 1: to you, like you're gonna rotate corners?
- 12:23Speaker 4: I mean no, but like I actually thought their planned
- 12:25Speaker 4: defensively it was pretty good.
- 12:27Speaker 1: I agree. I thought they did a good job. And
- 12:28Speaker 1: they kind of backed off.
- 12:30Speaker 4: With the Blitzes, knowing how good Drake may has been
- 12:32Speaker 4: against the blitz and they ran more drop eight coverages
- 12:36Speaker 4: than they've ever really run. Now, they were kind of
- 12:39Speaker 4: seven man coverages with a spy, so it's up for interpretation.
- 12:42Speaker 1: But on third down.
- 12:44Speaker 4: They were really only truly rushing three guys, and then
- 12:48Speaker 4: they had one of the four guys in the pass
- 12:50Speaker 4: rush was a spy on Drake May So I think
- 12:52Speaker 4: the Patriots were expecting a little bit more blitz and
- 12:55Speaker 4: they didn't get it as much as they probably were anticipating.
- 12:58Speaker 4: The only blitzed about twenty seven percent of the time.
- 13:00Speaker 4: Their blitz rates usually up around thirty five percent of
- 13:03Speaker 4: the time, so I thought they had a decent plan
- 13:07Speaker 4: in this game. They just gave up three monster chunks.
- 13:10Speaker 4: It wasn't even like they gave up twenty five yard place.
- 13:13Speaker 4: They gave up a seventy yarder and seventy two yarder.
- 13:16Speaker 2: Like the Kyle Williams one after he beat his man,
- 13:20Speaker 2: there was no one.
- 13:20Speaker 1: Well the guy goes for the pick. This is that's
- 13:22Speaker 1: the guy I'm talking about, Like he cuts under me inexplicably.
- 13:26Speaker 5: But there was no shell, There was no there was
- 13:29Speaker 5: no one deep well.
- 13:29Speaker 4: Because because Matt Collins took the safety like Yankee concept,
- 13:34Speaker 4: fred have the deep crossers and Drake may is just
- 13:37Speaker 4: throwing to the one on one, just an unreal throw,
- 13:40Speaker 4: like the end zone is perfect, and the end zone
- 13:44Speaker 4: angle makes it look even better, like really because yes, yes, yeah,
- 13:49Speaker 4: it almost looked no, and I know it wasn't a
- 13:51Speaker 4: no look, but his body was kind of going this
- 13:54Speaker 4: way and his arm angle was the other way.
- 13:56Speaker 1: And listening to d the one AFC Championship game in
- 13:59Speaker 1: Pittsburgh was.
- 13:59Speaker 9: Right on the Yeah, by the letter of the law,
- 14:05Speaker 9: you don't want to throw the ball like that, you know,
- 14:08Speaker 9: like you you want the throwing hallway.
- 14:10Speaker 4: So's his front foot, his hip and his shoulders to
- 14:13Speaker 4: be pointed at the target.
- 14:15Speaker 1: But he's so freaking good that he.
- 14:17Speaker 4: Doesn't need to do it, like and I just keep
- 14:20Speaker 4: on like seeing that with him is just he makes
- 14:22Speaker 4: some throws, especially under pressure, that the mechanics of it's
- 14:27Speaker 4: kind of like Mahomes like it's like this is broken, like.
- 14:29Speaker 1: You should not work.
- 14:30Speaker 4: And the way that he can still throw with accuracy
- 14:33Speaker 4: in those situations, I mean you, the ball is literally
- 14:36Speaker 4: in an absolutely perfect spot to Kyle Williams. If that's
- 14:41Speaker 4: a little bit behind him, then Morrison probably undercuts it
- 14:43Speaker 4: and picks it off and he just laid it out
- 14:46Speaker 4: just perfectly right in front of him on that play.
- 14:49Speaker 4: So watching it live, he didn't really didn't really do
- 14:53Speaker 4: the throw justice. I feel like you have to watch
- 14:56Speaker 4: the end zone angle and see just how ridiculous of
- 14:58Speaker 4: a bullet that is.
- 14:59Speaker 6: I'll kind I think it was third down to Hollins
- 15:01Speaker 6: where he like ducks a guy. It's like, I don't
- 15:03Speaker 6: even know how he got the ball off, like, it's
- 15:05Speaker 6: just I think that's another testament to him in his
- 15:09Speaker 6: development of not.
- 15:10Speaker 1: Having a big woosh.
- 15:11Speaker 6: I mean, he's staying tight, getting the ball out quick.
- 15:13Speaker 6: It's just it's cool to watch every week this kid
- 15:16Speaker 6: makes throat.
- 15:17Speaker 1: But I do agree with Evan on the defense for
- 15:19Speaker 1: the Bucks, and I know it's one of those like well,
- 15:22Speaker 1: other than that, you know, what do you think of
- 15:23Speaker 1: the play, missus Lincoln. I mean, you can't allow those
- 15:26Speaker 1: those plays. And I would add the bomb to Hollins
- 15:28Speaker 1: in there too, like the last one. I would sort
- 15:31Speaker 1: of excuse like you're desperately trying to stop the runs
- 15:36Speaker 1: and call up for a second. Popped it out. He's yeah,
- 15:39Speaker 1: he popped it. There was no one there to make
- 15:40Speaker 1: a tackle. But the other stuff is inexcusable, Like undercutting
- 15:43Speaker 1: that route like that is fine if you do what
- 15:46Speaker 1: Evan said and you want to cut it and pick
- 15:48Speaker 1: it off. If you don't, there's nobody there to make
- 15:50Speaker 1: a tackle, and you're not in position to make a tackle.
- 15:53Speaker 1: So that's going to end up being a touchdown and
- 15:54Speaker 1: you can't do that. But I thought there were more
- 15:57Speaker 1: passes defensed in this game against the Patriots that I
- 16:01Speaker 1: can remember. Like you look at Brake steps in throws
- 16:06Speaker 1: on a third down and there's a guy diving to
- 16:08Speaker 1: knock the ball away from Diggs or Henry or Hollins.
- 16:12Speaker 1: They you know, really good tackle on Hollins on the
- 16:15Speaker 1: play where he sort of jumped in the air and
- 16:17Speaker 1: came back. He was beyond the first down, but by
- 16:20Speaker 1: the time he came down he was he was down
- 16:22Speaker 1: and he's a big guy to stop for like no
- 16:24Speaker 1: additional yards after that, you know. So I thought that
- 16:28Speaker 1: the Bucks had a good plan really kind of held
- 16:30Speaker 1: him to twenty one points until there's a minute and
- 16:32Speaker 1: a half left and a guy goes seventy yards. You
- 16:34Speaker 1: see that a lot.
- 16:35Speaker 4: I remember Jonathan Taylor in twenty one against St. Patriots
- 16:38Speaker 4: when you're you're basically in goal line defense at that point.
- 16:41Speaker 4: So if it breaks like it's there's no right and
- 16:44Speaker 4: then they.
- 16:44Speaker 1: Didn't chase him because they wanted him to score. Yeah
- 16:47Speaker 1: that could have been. It did kind of chase him.
- 16:50Speaker 1: It just wasn't It wasn't going to catch him once
- 16:54Speaker 1: I got down to like the twenty yard line, you know,
- 16:56Speaker 1: like the first one Winfield like dolve and tripped him
- 16:59Speaker 1: up at the Yeah, well yeah, this one really get in.
- 17:03Speaker 2: From the end zone shot, you know with Henderson going
- 17:07Speaker 2: towards the camera. How many people were on the ground
- 17:11Speaker 2: for Tampa Bay on that play?
- 17:13Speaker 1: It was because it was like that's what I mean,
- 17:16Speaker 1: Like I think Evans Evans comparison to that Jonathan Taylor
- 17:19Speaker 1: running twenty one is spot off at that because that's
- 17:22Speaker 1: just you're just totally selling out your because you have to.
- 17:26Speaker 1: You have to tackle them like immediately and call time out.
- 17:29Speaker 1: Everything has to be perfect. So once he scorched through,
- 17:32Speaker 1: it's a game set man. Happens a lot.
- 17:35Speaker 6: Like I feel like I'm always alert for those now
- 17:37Speaker 6: on the really short yard is You're like, don't miss
- 17:39Speaker 6: the tackle here, you know, or get faked out.
- 17:41Speaker 1: Sometimes we got the right play call in the guy.
- 17:43Speaker 1: It was weird because it was a second down, a
- 17:45Speaker 1: second and nine I would have thrown. I said to Mike,
- 17:48Speaker 1: this is a great down to throw all.
- 17:51Speaker 10: That.
- 17:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:52Speaker 4: I tweeted it during the game that the tosses had
- 17:55Speaker 4: kind of stopped working, and I was like, how many
- 17:57Speaker 4: more of these are we gonna call?
- 17:59Speaker 1: It's like, that's a good Josh McDaniels, Mike, Mike showed
- 18:05Speaker 1: me you know why you great next gen charge and
- 18:10Speaker 1: it's like nothing nothing nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing nothing nothing, touchdown, touchdown. Yeah.
- 18:15Speaker 6: I thought you did a good job Evan in your
- 18:17Speaker 6: in your right up kind of because I think we
- 18:19Speaker 6: were all frustrated with some of the toss plays and
- 18:22Speaker 6: you know, to your point when you wrote about it,
- 18:23Speaker 6: sticking with it and you know not, I mean.
- 18:26Speaker 1: I think all of us we had callers afterwards.
- 18:28Speaker 6: We talked about in the postgame show, like it's just
- 18:30Speaker 6: it can be maddening, and there's it's an easy crutch
- 18:32Speaker 6: to be like.
- 18:32Speaker 1: Oh, the offensive coordinator, what's you doing calling those runs?
- 18:34Speaker 1: But it seems like it did pay dividends.
- 18:36Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:36Speaker 4: I think that's the biggest thing is they are keeping
- 18:39Speaker 4: their traditional dropbacks per game down because McDaniels is committed
- 18:46Speaker 4: to the run game and and doesn't you know there,
- 18:48Speaker 4: you could have very easily after the way they were
- 18:50Speaker 4: running the ball early on in that game, abandoned the
- 18:53Speaker 4: run at halftime and gone and then Drake made his
- 18:55Speaker 4: drop and back fifty five times against a good pass defense.
- 18:58Speaker 4: And instead they stake committed and they build all their
- 19:01Speaker 4: play actions and all their deep shots off of the
- 19:04Speaker 4: run game as well. I mean, like they get these
- 19:06Speaker 4: single high safety coverages all the time now because they're
- 19:09Speaker 4: just putting the quarterback under center and the full back
- 19:12Speaker 4: or two tight ends or whatever, and these teams are
- 19:14Speaker 4: loading the box and he's throwing bombs. So if you
- 19:17Speaker 4: like the bombs and you like the boots, and you
- 19:19Speaker 4: like the play actions, like you can't do that if
- 19:21Speaker 4: you're not going to run the ball. And it's not
- 19:23Speaker 4: about volume, it's about showing them the actions. You know,
- 19:26Speaker 4: we're gonna pull the guard, we're gonna lead the full back,
- 19:29Speaker 4: we're gonna do these different things. You can't run a
- 19:31Speaker 4: boot if you don't run the outside zone to set
- 19:34Speaker 4: up the boot. So like all these things are all connected,
- 19:36Speaker 4: and yeah, they might run into a brick wall for
- 19:39Speaker 4: two quarters, but then eventually you break one and there
- 19:42Speaker 4: you go.
- 19:42Speaker 11: No.
- 19:43Speaker 5: I mean, if you have faith in your defense, you
- 19:45Speaker 5: can do that.
- 19:46Speaker 2: You know you can.
- 19:46Speaker 4: And the quarterback down when the quarterbacks in third and seven,
- 19:51Speaker 4: thirty and eight and it's not over like that obviously
- 19:53Speaker 4: helps a lot too to be able to get out
- 19:55Speaker 4: of those situations. So I thought that, you know, that
- 19:59Speaker 4: was that is kind of the hallmark of their offense
- 20:02Speaker 4: right now is how balanced they are. And it's not
- 20:03Speaker 4: necessarily that they're this great running team. Actually their stats
- 20:07Speaker 4: are pretty poor as a rushing offense. But the fact
- 20:10Speaker 4: that they run it enough to have balance in terms
- 20:14Speaker 4: of the play calling has been really big for them
- 20:16Speaker 4: because then that just allows Drake to just big, big
- 20:19Speaker 4: play hunt when he does drop back and he doesn't
- 20:21Speaker 4: have to drop back fifty times, you know, he's only
- 20:23Speaker 4: dropping back around I think it's like thirty five or
- 20:26Speaker 4: thirty six times a game. So they're able to manage
- 20:29Speaker 4: it that way, whereas like other teams that kind of
- 20:32Speaker 4: abandoned it. They have their quarterbacks dropping back forty plus
- 20:35Speaker 4: times a game. It's asking a lot, it's asking a
- 20:39Speaker 4: lot of the quarterback. It's asking a lot of the
- 20:40Speaker 4: offensive line, so it kind of protects all of that.
- 20:43Speaker 2: So the Patriots are expanding their lead on the AFC East.
- 20:46Speaker 2: I wrote, the Patriots run the East right now. Patriots
- 20:50Speaker 2: run the East.
- 20:51Speaker 1: They got it right now. I mean they control it.
- 20:54Speaker 1: They don't have to worry about other things now.
- 20:57Speaker 2: They don't have to worry about windows closing.
- 20:58Speaker 6: No, what's saying Buffalo has got a tough schedule down
- 21:01Speaker 6: the stretch. I mean the Patriots got an easy one.
- 21:03Speaker 6: Buffalo's got to play some tough games.
- 21:04Speaker 5: Oh, they have to play the Patriots.
- 21:08Speaker 1: I mean I think those are I mean they got Tampa,
- 21:11Speaker 1: Patriots in Philly, and the Patriots have Buffalo and Baltimore.
- 21:15Speaker 1: So like to me, it's the Patriots have it right
- 21:18Speaker 1: in front of them. And the element of the loss
- 21:21Speaker 1: for Buffalo this week, I don't everybody wanted to fixate
- 21:24Speaker 1: on tiebreakers, which I think they're missing. The important thing.
- 21:29Speaker 1: The tiebreaker that they gained on Sunday was then losing.
- 21:32Speaker 1: Buffalo lost to Miami. That's a division game, right so
- 21:37Speaker 1: now if you lose the game, now, obviously, if the
- 21:40Speaker 1: Patriots win, who cares tie breakers? You're going to be ahead.
- 21:44Speaker 1: But if the Patriots lose the game and now you
- 21:46Speaker 1: split one one, you still have that one game buffer
- 21:49Speaker 1: with the division record. No one mentioned that Tony Romo
- 21:53Speaker 1: was infatuated with calling it a two game lead, like
- 21:56Speaker 1: it's not like, but the big thing is they now
- 22:00Speaker 1: have the edge because assuming the Patriots can take care
- 22:04Speaker 1: of business against Miami in the two games against the Jets,
- 22:08Speaker 1: that'd make you at worst five and one in the division.
- 22:10Speaker 1: The best of the Bills can do is four and two.
- 22:12Speaker 2: Yep.
- 22:13Speaker 1: So if you tie, that's the tie break.
- 22:16Speaker 2: That's the first tie breaker, I mean head to head first,
- 22:19Speaker 2: but then it would be division records.
- 22:21Speaker 1: So losing was bad enough for Buffalo, but losing to
- 22:24Speaker 1: a division team is enormous. They might mean Buffalo big
- 22:28Speaker 1: edge for the Patriots.
- 22:29Speaker 6: Buffalo might get the Bengals with Burrow back, and they
- 22:32Speaker 6: got to go to the Texas too.
- 22:33Speaker 1: It's the defense. I mean, I'm not saying that are
- 22:35Speaker 1: the same because well, they can't stop anybody Bengals, right,
- 22:39Speaker 1: and that was the I mean, you can't score any
- 22:41Speaker 1: more points than Joe Flacco scored the last few weeks
- 22:43Speaker 1: when they lose.
- 22:44Speaker 2: Right, Like people like, oh waitill they get Burrow. They
- 22:46Speaker 2: were scoring forty points a game they lost.
- 22:49Speaker 1: They lost thirty nine, thirty eight and forty something like
- 22:54Speaker 1: what are they lose to the Bears is like forty
- 22:56Speaker 1: five thirty seven? You know, forty seven one there, both
- 23:01Speaker 1: in the forties. So you can't like, Joe Burrow is
- 23:04Speaker 1: not going to be able to fix that. As much
- 23:06Speaker 1: as I love Joe Burrow, he can't go out and
- 23:09Speaker 1: play defense.
- 23:09Speaker 5: Yeah the point lots of good emails coming in here, Darius.
- 23:16Speaker 8: Uh.
- 23:18Speaker 2: He says all of your analysis suck, and then he
- 23:20Speaker 2: has a smile of mode. Just kidding, but seriously, stop
- 23:23Speaker 2: picking against us. We are good and we will get better.
- 23:26Speaker 2: Go Patriots. Ps. We still haven't played our best complete game,
- 23:30Speaker 2: so we'll be just fine come playoff time.
- 23:33Speaker 1: Very optimate. Yeah, it's all coming together.
- 23:38Speaker 2: And the other thing we need to talk about is
- 23:40Speaker 2: the Patriots representation at the game. I mean there were
- 23:45Speaker 2: a lot of Patriots fans.
- 23:48Speaker 4: At least, yeah, I'd say somewhere around there. I mean,
- 23:50Speaker 4: he was getting MVP chants on the run.
- 23:52Speaker 1: You could hear, you could hear reactions to like so
- 23:55Speaker 1: humble he was. I think those are for bab Yeah,
- 23:59Speaker 1: a job Matt Collins and they're canting m v P
- 24:03Speaker 1: but it's Bakers.
- 24:07Speaker 5: Well, it was funny because you got to match that.
- 24:10Speaker 2: Drake got the m v P chance, and then when
- 24:11Speaker 2: he threw the interception, the Bucks fans started to mockingly
- 24:16Speaker 2: do an m v P chance. And then when the
- 24:18Speaker 2: Patriots sealed it and Van started started up again, Collins was, Oh.
- 24:25Speaker 1: Yeah, great throw.
- 24:27Speaker 6: It's funny though, because I feel like the the Drake
- 24:29Speaker 6: of it all is bringing to head again like the
- 24:31Speaker 6: old m VP discussion of like is he the guy
- 24:34Speaker 6: kind of doing it all himself and he doesn't really
- 24:37Speaker 6: have much and he's just playing amazing, or is it
- 24:39Speaker 6: the best player on the best team. You know, Like,
- 24:41Speaker 6: because the best player on the best team, I probably
- 24:43Speaker 6: would still lean towards Matthew Stafford or Sam Darnold, you know,
- 24:47Speaker 6: maybe Jonathan Taylor, but then you know, but Drake, I
- 24:49Speaker 6: would say, if you want to talk about a real
- 24:52Speaker 6: m v P kind of doing it all himself, I
- 24:54Speaker 6: think you would have Drake.
- 24:56Speaker 1: Well, if the.
- 24:56Speaker 4: Voters, like last year, they've Josh Allen won the m
- 24:59Speaker 4: v HE because of that argument, Like they thought that
- 25:02Speaker 4: Lamar's supporting cast was better because he had Derrick Henry,
- 25:05Speaker 4: and he had a good defense and like all these
- 25:08Speaker 4: other things. So if their voters are consistent with the
- 25:10Speaker 4: way that they're voting.
- 25:12Speaker 6: That's true, then I JSN and Seattle you have I
- 25:15Speaker 6: mean Pooka.
- 25:16Speaker 1: And and I made this argument just now with Fred
- 25:19Speaker 1: and Mad in the office. I said the same thing.
- 25:21Speaker 1: You know Stafford has Pooka. You know Jonathan Taylor has
- 25:24Speaker 1: Daniel Jones And I know you'll mocked Daniel Jhoneson's he's
- 25:27Speaker 1: leading the league like he's having a great year. And again,
- 25:30Speaker 1: I'll say this again, Jonathan Taylor has been a Colt
- 25:32Speaker 1: the last three years. He hasn't done this.
- 25:35Speaker 2: Right.
- 25:36Speaker 1: They haven't been able to win games. He's been there.
- 25:38Speaker 1: Now they have a quarterback and he's able to win
- 25:40Speaker 1: some games so great that even running back the NBA,
- 25:44Speaker 1: there's no way. There's no way. But I'm just saying,
- 25:46Speaker 1: if the offensive player of the year, if you're comparing
- 25:49Speaker 1: these things, yeah, Drake does not have a weapon that's
- 25:53Speaker 1: of the caliber of Pooka Nakula or Jonathan Taylor or
- 25:57Speaker 1: Jason Smith JSN.
- 26:00Speaker 2: It's just yeah, is McDaniel's a shoeing for assistant coach
- 26:03Speaker 2: of the Year.
- 26:04Speaker 1: It's gonna be nominated for sure.
- 26:07Speaker 5: I mean it's really I'm not familiar with every.
- 26:11Speaker 4: Question, really really, like right now, the three hottest play
- 26:13Speaker 4: callers in the league are Stiking Klint Kubiak and Seattle
- 26:16Speaker 4: and McDaniels. And like Stikeen's a head coach, so that
- 26:20Speaker 4: takes him out of it. He's going to be in
- 26:22Speaker 4: the conversation with Rabel for Coach of the Year. But
- 26:25Speaker 4: Klint Kubiak's done an amazing job in Seattle too, But
- 26:29Speaker 4: you know, same thing, like he has Jackson Smith and Jigba,
- 26:32Speaker 4: and he has a more veteran quarterback and Sam Darnold,
- 26:35Speaker 4: and you know, you can make the same case that
- 26:37Speaker 4: we were making for Drake. So he's definitely gonna be
- 26:40Speaker 4: on the short list of nominations. You know, a lot
- 26:42Speaker 4: of the other guys that are really scheming their butts
- 26:45Speaker 4: off are head coaches, like you know McDonald, the Seattle
- 26:49Speaker 4: coach is scheming their defense, so their their defense is fantastic,
- 26:52Speaker 4: But it's the head coach that's driving the ship there,
- 26:55Speaker 4: not the assistant.
- 26:56Speaker 2: So John and Louisiana wants to make sure everyone knows
- 27:00Speaker 2: is that Fred chose the Bucks to win. Sunday tried
- 27:03Speaker 2: to mask it by saying the Patriots have to lose eventually,
- 27:06Speaker 2: but it was really his love for Baker that tipped
- 27:08Speaker 2: the scale. So stay on that side, Freddy, the train
- 27:11Speaker 2: has already left. JK and Evans. Bill's window is officially closed.
- 27:16Speaker 2: Good job.
- 27:17Speaker 5: Okay, what is JK and Evans just kidding?
- 27:22Speaker 8: I thought j.
- 27:25Speaker 1: Evans Evans Evan? Yeah, maybe like saying the grammar matters,
- 27:32Speaker 1: it matters. Yeah, I got my own Josh Allen literacy,
- 27:37Speaker 1: my own Josh Allen good. I have my own Josh Allen.
- 27:42Speaker 2: Now so Dan and Virginia Michigan, And I'm sure Evan
- 27:45Speaker 2: has the answer for this. He wants to know who
- 27:47Speaker 2: ran the fastest of the weekend, Kyle Williams on his
- 27:49Speaker 2: catch and run, Trevor Trevion Henderson on his first rushing touchdown,
- 27:54Speaker 2: or fred Curs running to close the window on the Bills.
- 27:57Speaker 1: Nice Davis Mills, did you see No? Did he run
- 28:01Speaker 1: like over nineteen miles an hour, which.
- 28:04Speaker 2: Is not for him?
- 28:04Speaker 1: That's pretty imp immediately calls into question for me all
- 28:07Speaker 1: those numbers, But that's just me U.
- 28:09Speaker 4: It is a literal GPS tracker like it could not
- 28:13Speaker 4: be more scientific, just like.
- 28:18Speaker 1: Someone with the stop which accurately said like I actually
- 28:22Speaker 1: saw like like flashes coming off of Kyle Williams when
- 28:25Speaker 1: he was in Mario Davis Mills twenty minutes to get
- 28:28Speaker 1: to the pylon and they were like one mile different,
- 28:31Speaker 1: like you drive over the power boosts very like I think.
- 28:35Speaker 4: It's like two miles per Henderson's fifty five yard run
- 28:38Speaker 4: was the fastest. He topped twenty two miles an hour.
- 28:41Speaker 4: So he's actually one of only four ball carriers in
- 28:43Speaker 4: the league to do that, because Junior Gibbs has done
- 28:45Speaker 4: it twice. So uh, he's one of four guys in
- 28:48Speaker 4: the entire NFL this year to top twenty two miles
- 28:51Speaker 4: an hour. It's the fifth fastest time of a ball
- 28:54Speaker 4: carrier in the league this season. And Kyle Williams was
- 28:58Speaker 4: over twenty one on his touchdown and then Travion's second
- 29:01Speaker 4: touchdown was over twenty one as well.
- 29:02Speaker 1: It's amazing they had like three touchdowns. I know, like
- 29:05Speaker 1: all up there in the.
- 29:06Speaker 6: Right well usually it's like Schooler is on like the
- 29:09Speaker 6: kickoff coverage team because you know, busting ass down the.
- 29:12Speaker 4: Field, right, Yeah, you gotta filter it out those like
- 29:15Speaker 4: gunners and stuff like that that just get a dead sprint,
- 29:18Speaker 4: Like that's not really the same thing. But uh, the
- 29:22Speaker 4: they do track acceleration as well, and Kyle Williams's acceleration
- 29:26Speaker 4: was off the charts.
- 29:27Speaker 1: That's what it was, Travion. It was like even on TV,
- 29:31Speaker 1: it was noticeable how fast they were. Yeah, you could
- 29:34Speaker 1: see it.
- 29:34Speaker 4: Once Trayvon Anderson on the fifty five yard er, he
- 29:37Speaker 4: like kind of puts two hands on the ball as
- 29:39Speaker 4: he's going through and once he felt that he was free,
- 29:42Speaker 4: it was.
- 29:42Speaker 2: Shot block out of a canon.
- 29:45Speaker 1: Yeah, speaking of blocks.
- 29:50Speaker 2: Yeah, speaking of blocks, Tonda, Everyone's talking about him taking
- 29:55Speaker 2: out two or three guys.
- 29:56Speaker 1: And it was like bowling pins.
- 29:58Speaker 4: Now, to be fair, he took out the first guy
- 30:01Speaker 4: and then he fell, which like caused Like it wasn't
- 30:05Speaker 4: like he literally blocked three guys.
- 30:07Speaker 1: However you do it, But he did his job. But
- 30:10Speaker 1: it was, yeah, it.
- 30:11Speaker 4: Created he created like a pile up exactly. But and
- 30:15Speaker 4: he's unbelievable. He's an unbelievable uh converted full back, like
- 30:23Speaker 4: maybe one of the better ones I've ever seen. Like
- 30:25Speaker 4: he is honestly, uh because he's super athletic for his size,
- 30:30Speaker 4: so they've used him like as a lead blocker traditional
- 30:33Speaker 4: full back. They brought him in motion and then kind
- 30:35Speaker 4: of have him kick out somebody when he comes in motion.
- 30:38Speaker 4: I mean, he just absolutely destroys the line of scrimmage.
- 30:41Speaker 4: He's actually like pretty good at it in terms of
- 30:44Speaker 4: like knowing who to block, because sometimes the pictures change
- 30:47Speaker 4: post snap, and he's like pretty good at seeing who
- 30:49Speaker 4: he's supposed to block, and you know, in an offensive
- 30:51Speaker 4: lineman misses a block, he like helps them and makes
- 30:54Speaker 4: it the block and correct and like all that kind
- 30:56Speaker 4: of stuff. He's he's really really good at it, Like
- 30:59Speaker 4: he had to. I know, you did it a little
- 31:01Speaker 4: bit in high school and college, but this has to
- 31:03Speaker 4: be something that like he's studied quiet kind of a lot,
- 31:07Speaker 4: Like maybe this was like a potential path for him
- 31:09Speaker 4: at one point, and so he was really working at
- 31:12Speaker 4: fullback because this isn't like you know when you see
- 31:15Speaker 4: certain guys that just coming on the goal line and
- 31:17Speaker 4: they just run, you know, straight into the line of
- 31:19Speaker 4: scrimmage and just kind of go full bore. Like they're
- 31:21Speaker 4: kind of using him in some unique ways for a
- 31:25Speaker 4: guy that's never really done it before, and they're definitely
- 31:27Speaker 4: gonna throw him a pass at some point like that,
- 31:29Speaker 4: that's one hundred percent coming.
- 31:31Speaker 7: He told me it's just one snap. Ever in his
- 31:34Speaker 7: NFL career, his rookie year he did played offense. But
- 31:36Speaker 7: it's funny because he loves it so much. We've both
- 31:38Speaker 7: had these conversations with him. His face lights up when
- 31:42Speaker 7: he talks about playing offense.
- 31:43Speaker 4: It's incredible, how like I said, like how good he
- 31:46Speaker 4: is at, you know, reacting on the fly to like
- 31:49Speaker 4: who he's supposed to be blocking. Like that's something that
- 31:51Speaker 4: doesn't come naturally, Like that takes reps in time to
- 31:55Speaker 4: learn how to do it, and he's he's already doing
- 31:58Speaker 4: that at a.
- 31:59Speaker 1: Really high level.
- 32:00Speaker 4: He doesn't play a ton on defense, so it's not
- 32:03Speaker 4: like a Marcus Jones situation where you're worried about, like
- 32:06Speaker 4: is he going to be playing too much? He only
- 32:07Speaker 4: plays about twenty five to thirty snaps a game on defense,
- 32:11Speaker 4: So if you use him, they've played them eight snaps
- 32:13Speaker 4: on offense on Sunday, It's not like there it's like
- 32:16Speaker 4: a ton of workloads. So I think they can continue
- 32:18Speaker 4: to use him pretty heavily on offense as well.
- 32:21Speaker 2: Andrew Peterson from London is fed up to Peterson. This
- 32:26Speaker 2: is not necessarily directed at you guys, but more at
- 32:29Speaker 2: the general narrative. Yes, I know the Patriots have had
- 32:31Speaker 2: an easy schedule. However, in caps look at the strength
- 32:35Speaker 2: of victory. The Patriots have an equal SOV to the
- 32:38Speaker 2: Colts and a better SOV than the Broncos, Bills, and Chiefs.
- 32:42Speaker 2: So to this point in the season, most of the
- 32:45Speaker 2: top of the AFC don't really have more than one
- 32:47Speaker 2: or two wins against good teams either. We should get
- 32:50Speaker 2: the number one seed. The rest of the way. Both
- 32:53Speaker 2: of Colts and the Broncos have pretty difficult schedules. The
- 32:56Speaker 2: Bills play a reasonably difficult schedule and the Charges don't
- 32:59Speaker 2: have any lay up games either. So what do you
- 33:04Speaker 2: think about that strength of victory?
- 33:05Speaker 1: I don't care. I don't really care about any of this.
- 33:08Speaker 1: Yeah you don't.
- 33:09Speaker 2: You don't care, So no more talk about easy schedule.
- 33:12Speaker 1: I know you can talk about this, that's what he's
- 33:14Speaker 1: talking about. But strength of victory is.
- 33:16Speaker 4: Like, I don't care about how the schedule and I
- 33:18Speaker 4: don't care about that.
- 33:19Speaker 2: I know.
- 33:19Speaker 1: So we don't know what that's going to end, I know,
- 33:21Speaker 1: but we make it to calculate that now is a
- 33:24Speaker 1: waste of everybody.
- 33:25Speaker 5: But people make it a point. Oh they've got an
- 33:27Speaker 5: easy schedule.
- 33:27Speaker 1: They do, you know, so because they do, But maybe
- 33:30Speaker 1: why is it compared to who not compared to Buffalo,
- 33:34Speaker 1: because they have an easy schedule too.
- 33:35Speaker 2: They're in the same division, right, So but what he's
- 33:37Speaker 2: saying is so far strength of victory the Patriot.
- 33:39Speaker 1: That's irrelevant is what I'm saying. That doesn't matter. It's
- 33:42Speaker 1: who you played.
- 33:44Speaker 5: Well, that's how you get your strength of victory.
- 33:46Speaker 1: No, do you understand what I'm saying. Yeah, and let's
- 33:50Speaker 1: move on kind of.
- 33:51Speaker 2: But just because he understands, I don't emary elitist.
- 33:55Speaker 1: There's eight more games to play, I know, but strength
- 33:58Speaker 1: of victory will will win work itself out.
- 34:00Speaker 5: I understand it.
- 34:01Speaker 1: They have their strength of victory because they've winning every
- 34:03Speaker 1: single game, because they're playing against easy teams. If you
- 34:06Speaker 1: lose against the hard team, they don't get strength to
- 34:09Speaker 1: victory points Denver had because nothing to Denver ones that
- 34:12Speaker 1: with the Denver.
- 34:12Speaker 2: And the Colts are the same amount of wins.
- 34:15Speaker 1: So what does that mean?
- 34:16Speaker 5: You said, because they're winning all the games, Well, so
- 34:18Speaker 5: are the Denver and.
- 34:19Speaker 1: The Colts, but they've lost to other good teams. But
- 34:23Speaker 1: like according like the Broncos lost to the Colts.
- 34:26Speaker 5: I know, but according to this guy, so they didn't
- 34:27Speaker 5: get strength.
- 34:28Speaker 1: To victory points for that because they didn't win the game.
- 34:30Speaker 2: What do you mean they didn't win the game?
- 34:32Speaker 1: They lost to the Colts.
- 34:33Speaker 5: Okay, so they didn't win.
- 34:34Speaker 1: But right, you don't have that strength and loss to
- 34:38Speaker 1: the Raiders strength. So their strength of victory is better
- 34:40Speaker 1: because you played better teams when you when you won.
- 34:43Speaker 1: But they all had the same amount of wins too.
- 34:45Speaker 2: I know, but that counts strength of victory, right, and
- 34:47Speaker 2: they beat every one of those other things. But up
- 34:50Speaker 2: to this point, he's right, correct.
- 34:52Speaker 1: I have no idea. I don't calculate strength of victory.
- 34:55Speaker 11: He is.
- 34:57Speaker 1: I would say that.
- 34:59Speaker 4: It The part that stinks about it is that it
- 35:02Speaker 4: does matter because it's part of the tiebreaker for it.
- 35:04Speaker 1: But it's like the fourth thing.
- 35:06Speaker 2: I know, but it's all.
- 35:07Speaker 4: But it's part of the tiebreaker formula for this, and
- 35:09Speaker 4: it's awesome important. It's also part of the tiebreaker formula
- 35:12Speaker 4: for the drinks after.
- 35:13Speaker 1: Head to head, Okay, it's a conference, it's after common opponents.
- 35:17Speaker 5: It's not that important part of the discussion.
- 35:20Speaker 4: Well, it's actually more important if you're tanking, honestly, Like
- 35:24Speaker 4: it's like the.
- 35:24Speaker 1: Draft order is, that's when it's important.
- 35:26Speaker 4: That's why the Commanders had a higher pick than the
- 35:28Speaker 4: Patriots a couple of years ago, and why they got
- 35:30Speaker 4: Jaden Daniels and we got Drake may It is because
- 35:32Speaker 4: it's strength and victory. So it does matter in that respect.
- 35:36Speaker 4: But they're on the other side of it now where
- 35:38Speaker 4: we're talking about the things you know in conference.
- 35:41Speaker 1: Actually has it perfect because he's talking about the AFC
- 35:45Speaker 1: West teams have to all play each other and that
- 35:48Speaker 1: their schedules would be so down the stretch, right, And
- 35:51Speaker 1: that's why I'm saying it's irrelevant to talk about strength
- 35:54Speaker 1: the victory now, Okay, Well, and I don't like, I'll
- 35:58Speaker 1: take your word for it. I don't look at strength
- 35:59Speaker 1: of victory when you're ten games into a season. If
- 36:03Speaker 1: it gets down to the season's over and everybody's tied
- 36:07Speaker 1: and everybody doesn't have head to head and yeah, I'll
- 36:09Speaker 1: look at four and five tie breakers down the road.
- 36:11Speaker 1: Does he who wins two? But coin toss is one
- 36:15Speaker 1: of those two? Is that important?
- 36:16Speaker 8: Well?
- 36:16Speaker 1: In Texas it is. Do you see that at the
- 36:18Speaker 1: gas station?
- 36:19Speaker 4: I see that, actually Texas football. I just don't understand
- 36:23Speaker 4: why any of this matters.
- 36:25Speaker 6: Well, I just I don't need this stat to tell
- 36:27Speaker 6: me what I've got his show, That's all I know.
- 36:29Speaker 2: Because they're even talking about next year because they.
- 36:33Speaker 4: Talk about it because he admits that he's just trying
- 36:35Speaker 4: to poke Patriots fans, and they're not talking about it.
- 36:38Speaker 1: Seriously, if you end up fourteen and three, no one's
- 36:41Speaker 1: going to care, Like your strength to schedule like is irrelevant.
- 36:46Speaker 1: If you have a better record than everybody else, like
- 36:48Speaker 1: it doesn't matter, Like I don't know why you lose
- 36:50Speaker 1: sleepover this is I guess belong and short people.
- 36:53Speaker 2: Patriots fans are very sensitive about everything about about other
- 36:57Speaker 2: people not giving them.
- 37:00Speaker 7: Some troll saying you guys haven't played anyone good, and
- 37:02Speaker 7: then they need amo to feed back at whoever's trolling them.
- 37:05Speaker 1: But that's the thing about the league. No one has
- 37:08Speaker 1: played anyone really good.
- 37:09Speaker 5: Right, So why are the Patriots the only one that
- 37:11Speaker 5: gets that?
- 37:12Speaker 1: Because they have the easiest one by by numbers, Like
- 37:17Speaker 1: you guys want to use the numbers to tell me
- 37:18Speaker 1: all about their explosiveness and this, that and the other thing.
- 37:21Speaker 1: But you can't use the numbers that that says that
- 37:23Speaker 1: they have the easiest schedule. Buffalo has the same easy
- 37:26Speaker 1: He's back. He's back, Like, I just don't understand why
- 37:31Speaker 1: it's not good enough to have what Mike did the
- 37:34Speaker 1: first ten minutes of the show. That's that's where I'm at.
- 37:37Speaker 1: I just talked and that game was how exciting it
- 37:40Speaker 1: is to be eight and two, how exciting.
- 37:42Speaker 4: It is to be people like you and your brethren
- 37:44Speaker 4: just have to show do any of them the bear.
- 37:48Speaker 1: That's what you, guys. I spent two hours celebrating a
- 37:51Speaker 1: great win on Sunday and still got killed for this.
- 37:54Speaker 1: I'm just telling you, that's what it is. Just shut
- 37:57Speaker 1: off the radio. That's it. Turn on this radio.
- 38:00Speaker 2: But you know, I don't know, I don't know. You
- 38:03Speaker 2: guys said you celebrated. But Barton Poland, I love Paulie
- 38:07Speaker 2: says he's by far my favorite. But on the postgame show,
- 38:11Speaker 2: he was unlistenable, say why did you do that? Like
- 38:14Speaker 2: he was on purpose trying to be unnecessarily objective. The
- 38:18Speaker 2: one that probably bugged me the most was underplaying Drake's
- 38:21Speaker 2: throw to Williams and saying that Kyle Williams and stupid
- 38:23Speaker 2: defending were solely responsible for it.
- 38:25Speaker 1: Well, Kyle Williams was not. It was a great throw.
- 38:29Speaker 2: Have you seen the end zone angle? But it was
- 38:33Speaker 2: all on the defender from But would you say that
- 38:36Speaker 2: May had to make a perfect throw to get that done? Yes, okay,
- 38:39Speaker 2: I would.
- 38:40Speaker 1: I said that.
- 38:41Speaker 5: That's all he said that Sunday. That's all he's saying.
- 38:43Speaker 1: I think Matt's actually I think Matt Smith said that
- 38:45Speaker 1: Sunday to credit well he said it was a great throw.
- 38:49Speaker 2: Yeah it was.
- 38:50Speaker 1: I think we did talk about I want you to hear,
- 38:52Speaker 1: but I want to give credit to the guy who
- 38:53Speaker 1: actually said it, Matt Smith.
- 38:55Speaker 4: I want you to say it was a perfect Well,
- 38:57Speaker 4: thank god we had that.
- 38:58Speaker 1: It was a perfect It was a perfect throw.
- 39:02Speaker 2: You know. But I do like Barton.
- 39:03Speaker 1: He is one of our long timers. We had a
- 39:07Speaker 1: phrase in that that was that really struck my fancy.
- 39:11Speaker 1: He's unnecessarily objective. I didn't know that was such a thing. Hey,
- 39:17Speaker 1: you don't know what objective should be a kind of
- 39:20Speaker 1: your job, right.
- 39:23Speaker 5: Our job is to entertain. There you go, Fred I
- 39:26Speaker 5: like that.
- 39:26Speaker 2: However, the fans feel that being entertained.
- 39:28Speaker 1: That's our job, which is why we do the window talk.
- 39:31Speaker 1: That's right, that's entertained.
- 39:33Speaker 5: That's right.
- 39:34Speaker 2: I entertained myself when I do it. That's you know,
- 39:37Speaker 2: I'm my own audience there. What are you doing?
- 39:43Speaker 1: We're all having a good time today. What's not to
- 39:46Speaker 1: have a Seriously, that was one of the more enjoyable
- 39:50Speaker 1: games because, like it was a good team give me, yes,
- 39:53Speaker 1: give me when the other team actually punches back, you know,
- 39:57Speaker 1: and then you win it, that's you know, I know
- 40:00Speaker 1: Fred loves the blowouts. Like, I'll take that game any
- 40:02Speaker 1: day of the.
- 40:03Speaker 2: More criticism for us. Travis in West Virginia. I thought
- 40:06Speaker 2: we agreed that writing in and asking where to eat
- 40:08Speaker 2: is dumb, but I noticed Alex wrote a fifteen thousand
- 40:11Speaker 2: word essay on that very topic in the PW newsletter.
- 40:14Speaker 2: Is this the best way for her to spend your time? Also,
- 40:17Speaker 2: can you tell Deuce to stop relating everything to when
- 40:19Speaker 2: he started working in twenty nineteen.
- 40:22Speaker 1: I didn't know he's doing that.
- 40:23Speaker 7: Sorry, Travis, that's sorry for trying to help people out
- 40:26Speaker 7: with food recommendations.
- 40:29Speaker 2: I love it when people criticize it. Mike and Medford
- 40:31Speaker 2: Paul suddenly thinks the easy schedule is irrelevant. For eight weeks,
- 40:34Speaker 2: we still suck because our schedule was so easy. Used
- 40:37Speaker 2: to make me angry.
- 40:38Speaker 1: Irrelevant, used to make me angry.
- 40:40Speaker 5: Now I'm just worried about what's that again?
- 40:41Speaker 1: Sorry? I didn't get the explanation. Can we talk about
- 40:44Speaker 1: weakness of defeat?
- 40:45Speaker 2: That's the defeat?
- 40:47Speaker 1: Thank you, Mike do so. I appreciate it.
- 40:50Speaker 6: Their weakness of defeat. It's really good or bad.
- 40:52Speaker 1: I'm not sure. Whatever's better for the Patriots.
- 40:54Speaker 12: Is what it is.
- 40:55Speaker 5: I go or strength at defeat.
- 40:57Speaker 1: Now, I've waited so much trying.
- 41:03Speaker 4: I've waited forty one minutes to not have any grievances
- 41:06Speaker 4: about this game.
- 41:06Speaker 1: So I think that's pretty good. I don't know if
- 41:09Speaker 1: we're going to have an a grievance about this game.
- 41:10Speaker 2: All right, let's get to the phone. I have a
- 41:12Speaker 2: couple eight five five pats five hundred. Let's see what
- 41:15Speaker 2: everyone else has.
- 41:15Speaker 1: I'm saying myself from that.
- 41:17Speaker 5: Nate's in Connecticut.
- 41:18Speaker 2: What's up? Nate?
- 41:20Speaker 3: Hey, guys, can you aysgree Well?
- 41:21Speaker 6: Yep, Nate, So, uh my question for you guys.
- 41:26Speaker 3: Well more of a thought actually, but obviously our defensive
- 41:31Speaker 3: line has been overperforming. You know, they've been doing very well.
- 41:36Speaker 1: And uh, how unnecessarily objective.
- 41:42Speaker 3: We're we're an eight win team and you know, with
- 41:45Speaker 3: our strength to schedule, I think playoffs for us are
- 41:47Speaker 3: easily guaranteed. And how important do you think it is
- 41:52Speaker 3: to keep our defensive line pretty healthy? You know people
- 41:55Speaker 3: are calling.
- 41:55Speaker 12: At the wall.
- 41:56Speaker 3: Uh, we haven't let up a fifty yard running back
- 42:00Speaker 3: by Canva Bay.
- 42:03Speaker 6: We only a sixty yard at least you get to
- 42:05Speaker 6: sixty went to fifty three.
- 42:06Speaker 1: Alright, So I'm just gonna like, now it's fifty the
- 42:14Speaker 1: speed limit.
- 42:15Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, So uh well, I thought, you know, one
- 42:19Speaker 4: thing that has caught my eye to that point, Nate,
- 42:21Speaker 4: is the last couple of weeks, Christian Barmore hasn't really
- 42:24Speaker 4: been himself this Yeah, and I don't know if that
- 42:29Speaker 4: back thing happened, Like I saw him go down, obviously
- 42:32Speaker 4: we all did, but was that percolating under the surface
- 42:36Speaker 4: and then it flared up during the game. Uh, He's
- 42:40Speaker 4: gone two straight weeks without logging a pressure on a quarterback,
- 42:44Speaker 4: which is not the Christian paid So I kind of
- 42:49Speaker 4: chalked that up to it last week because he did
- 42:51Speaker 4: get more of the double teams and Milton Williams. Uh So,
- 42:54Speaker 4: I that was sort of what I chalked it up
- 42:56Speaker 4: to last week, But then it was the same this
- 43:00Speaker 4: So at what point are we, you know, looking at
- 43:03Speaker 4: something And I'm not saying it's he's a bad player.
- 43:05Speaker 4: I'm saying it's something physical that he might be dealing
- 43:08Speaker 4: with that's having him slow down. But I will say
- 43:12Speaker 4: Corey Durden is doing some good stuff on the defensive line,
- 43:16Speaker 4: and I know that that's a kind of under the radar,
- 43:21Speaker 4: unsung hero type of player. But he had three pressures
- 43:24Speaker 4: in this game. He's really hard to move in the
- 43:27Speaker 4: run game as well as strong dude. He's somebody that
- 43:30Speaker 4: I has really caught the eye watching their tape.
- 43:34Speaker 6: Anything else, Okay, evn't planned to seat on Barmore yesterday
- 43:41Speaker 6: when I saw you and then when I did my
- 43:43Speaker 6: defensive grind of the tape.
- 43:45Speaker 1: This is my thought on Barmore as I've watched him more.
- 43:48Speaker 6: Sometimes when he's at his best, it feels like he
- 43:49Speaker 6: is on the verge of being out of control, like
- 43:51Speaker 6: he's very much just a wrecking call and throwing himself
- 43:55Speaker 6: in there. And you know, I don't know, there's just
- 43:58Speaker 6: something that I didn't really see in the game from
- 44:00Speaker 6: him that I saw and sometimes when I would watch
- 44:03Speaker 6: him early in the season, it almost felt like it's like,
- 44:05Speaker 6: I don't know, you're like out of control, You're you're
- 44:07Speaker 6: kind of reckless abandon right now, whereas like Milton Williams
- 44:11Speaker 6: feels very much into like technique, control effort, and I
- 44:15Speaker 6: just I wonder what Barmore, if that's you know, another
- 44:17Speaker 6: symptom of what you're saying, if there is something physical
- 44:19Speaker 6: going on with him, because when he really is going,
- 44:22Speaker 6: it jumps off to me. You could just see, like,
- 44:24Speaker 6: my god, this guy is just throwing himself into the line,
- 44:26Speaker 6: you know, throwing himself into blockers when they're running stunts.
- 44:30Speaker 6: And the other guy, I think we should maybe mention
- 44:31Speaker 6: it's just, you know, Harold Landry, who you know, hasn't
- 44:33Speaker 6: really been productive. I found myself a little torn on
- 44:36Speaker 6: him because at the same time, I think he's a
- 44:38Speaker 6: really stout piece. I just don't know if he's got
- 44:41Speaker 6: right now.
- 44:42Speaker 1: And again it could be an injury.
- 44:43Speaker 6: Going back to what was it the New Orleans game,
- 44:45Speaker 6: I think is where it looked like he heard his ankle. Yeah,
- 44:47Speaker 6: you know, maybe he just doesn't quite have the wiggle
- 44:50Speaker 6: to get away from guys as much, but he's still
- 44:52Speaker 6: very solid. He plays within the scheme, and you know,
- 44:55Speaker 6: it's it's like one of those things where I like
- 44:58Speaker 6: what he's doing in one regard, but he hasn't really
- 45:00Speaker 6: produced the way he did the first like three or
- 45:02Speaker 6: four games of the season when he was consistently pressures,
- 45:05Speaker 6: solo tackles, those kind of things.
- 45:07Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, no, I would agree with that. And I
- 45:09Speaker 1: think with bar More, to me, it's pad level.
- 45:12Speaker 4: Like when he when he's playing with good leverage and
- 45:14Speaker 4: good pad level, he's so big and strong and he's
- 45:17Speaker 4: got really long arms and he can just kind of
- 45:20Speaker 4: bull rush people back into the pocket and if he
- 45:23Speaker 4: has a back thing like it's probably harder for him
- 45:26Speaker 4: to play what that kind of leverage every way. So
- 45:30Speaker 4: I think that that could be something that's that's happening
- 45:33Speaker 4: with him. Uh, Chase On has been really good. You know,
- 45:36Speaker 4: he's continuing had a really good to be disruptive. Millon
- 45:40Speaker 4: Williams is a freaking monster. Yeah, Milon Williams is motor
- 45:43Speaker 4: is just I was just gonna say to like Chase
- 45:47Speaker 4: down ball sideline, he is all.
- 45:51Speaker 2: On the other side of the ball of Patriots offensive line.
- 45:53Speaker 2: Joe and Michigan points out Vea had one solo tackle,
- 45:56Speaker 2: one pressure, zero sacks. The old line was much much improved,
- 46:00Speaker 2: giving up only one sack to a blitz crazy Tampa Bay.
- 46:04Speaker 2: I don't know if they were blitz crazy, but they're
- 46:06Speaker 2: a good d Yeah, but how do we think the
- 46:09Speaker 2: offensive line did that?
- 46:10Speaker 4: Van number is widely incorrect. He was in the backfield
- 46:14Speaker 4: the entire game. Yeah, he was a monster in this game.
- 46:17Speaker 4: And you know, short yardage running, goal line, pass rush.
- 46:23Speaker 4: I mean he lived in the backfield and was all
- 46:25Speaker 4: over Drake May. Garrett Bradberry gave up six pressures in
- 46:28Speaker 4: this game at center, and I don't.
- 46:30Speaker 1: Really kind of held on. I don't really blame him.
- 46:34Speaker 4: And it was exactly what Josh McDaniel said last week, like,
- 46:37Speaker 4: if you're gonna die, die slowly. And that was exactly
- 46:40Speaker 4: poor Garrett Bradberry on Sunday, just like there's a clear
- 46:43Speaker 4: size mismatch between those two guys, and Bradbury is just
- 46:48Speaker 4: on skates and just trying to hold on for dear life.
- 46:51Speaker 4: And I give him credit for hanging in there and playing.
- 46:54Speaker 4: Uh you know as best as he could, but Vita
- 46:57Speaker 4: Vea was a NonStop problem for them. Now, the tackles
- 47:02Speaker 4: played pretty well, and I thought Campbell and Moses were quiet.
- 47:05Speaker 1: The Abby is a good player. I thought the Abby
- 47:09Speaker 1: was an impact guy. Yeah at the edge.
- 47:11Speaker 4: He's a good player. And I thought Campbell, you know,
- 47:14Speaker 4: did pretty well against him. You know, a couple of pressures,
- 47:16Speaker 4: but nothing crazy, you know, no sacks, So I thought
- 47:20Speaker 4: he was pretty solid in this game.
- 47:22Speaker 1: I think people are going to look at the one
- 47:23Speaker 1: sack thing and make that determination. I think it was
- 47:26Speaker 1: similar what we've seen hasn't been bad. Offensive line. I
- 47:30Speaker 1: don't think has been bad, and I don't think they
- 47:32Speaker 1: were bad Sunday, But I wouldn't confuse like six sacks
- 47:36Speaker 1: one week, one sack the next, what an unbelievable improvement.
- 47:39Speaker 1: I think it was similar.
- 47:41Speaker 4: Well, I would say what an unbelievable improvement would probably
- 47:44Speaker 4: go more to Drake than to the offensive line. I
- 47:47Speaker 4: thought in this game he's stood in pockets and read
- 47:51Speaker 4: out plays a lot better. And that was something we
- 47:53Speaker 4: talked about a whole lot last week in terms of
- 47:55Speaker 4: taking unnecessary sacks, and I thought he managed the pressure
- 47:59Speaker 4: exceptionally well. In this game, and I thought the most
- 48:02Speaker 4: and obviously the downfield throws are great. The throw to pop,
- 48:05Speaker 4: the slant to pop against the blitz over the middle
- 48:08Speaker 4: of the field that went for twenty six yards. To me,
- 48:10Speaker 4: was the best play of the game he made because
- 48:12Speaker 4: he's got a free runner coming right at him up
- 48:15Speaker 4: the middle of the Levante. David comes free right up
- 48:17Speaker 4: the middle. Uh, and he stood in there and took
- 48:21Speaker 4: a hit.
- 48:21Speaker 5: That's the one where it's kind of arm angle was
- 48:25Speaker 5: a dangerous.
- 48:26Speaker 2: Was No, it was a slot to slant to pop,
- 48:29Speaker 2: which was the one where he had pressure all around
- 48:31Speaker 2: him and he lowered his arm angle and got the
- 48:33Speaker 2: pass off with that.
- 48:34Speaker 1: Holland I don't know.
- 48:37Speaker 2: It was a short pass though, Yeah, yeah, it might
- 48:39Speaker 2: have been Hollands.
- 48:40Speaker 4: Yeah, he threw a little like push pass, little shovel
- 48:43Speaker 4: to pop on.
- 48:44Speaker 2: A chat was another one. Yeah, but but he was.
- 48:47Speaker 1: Looking I actually I had no problem with that one
- 48:50Speaker 1: because I thought he was looking right at Pop and
- 48:52Speaker 1: he knew there is nobody over there.
- 48:54Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 48:55Speaker 4: It was the one to pop to me, is like,
- 48:57Speaker 4: that's that's quarterbacking, right, Like you you know you're going
- 49:01Speaker 4: to get killed. You're staring down the barrel, they drop
- 49:04Speaker 4: the end out and so it's Pop Douglas on a
- 49:06Speaker 4: defensive end in a little bit of space, and so
- 49:08Speaker 4: it's one of your quickest players against the two hundred
- 49:10Speaker 4: and ninety ninety five pound guy.
- 49:12Speaker 1: And he stood in there, he saw it.
- 49:14Speaker 4: He made the throw hit, popping stride and he actually
- 49:18Speaker 4: it was an ankle biting tackle if he doesn't get clipped.
- 49:21Speaker 1: There were a couple of throwaways in this game. There
- 49:23Speaker 1: was I think there was a lot of what Evan's
- 49:25Speaker 1: talking about quarterbacking that I liked. And I think that
- 49:28Speaker 1: that's the difference between six sacks and one sack. Is
- 49:31Speaker 1: I'm okay if I only complete fifty one in change
- 49:34Speaker 1: or whatever. Now, maybe that's a little low in this
- 49:37Speaker 1: day and age, but it doesn't have to be seventy
- 49:38Speaker 1: five percent to be effective.
- 49:40Speaker 2: But I did.
- 49:40Speaker 1: He showed you he was very effective at times. But
- 49:43Speaker 1: Drake with pressure, he did get hit a lot, just
- 49:47Speaker 1: took some hits. You know, we got our guy, and
- 49:49Speaker 1: our guy is tough. Yeah, I mean he took some
- 49:51Speaker 1: big hits. Yeah they may not have been SATs, but
- 49:53Speaker 1: he took some big hits. I was just worried that
- 49:56Speaker 1: in this game. I don't know what the numbers would suggest,
- 49:58Speaker 1: but I thought the hit, like the caliber of hit,
- 50:00Speaker 1: it was better in the you know, better for the defense.
- 50:06Speaker 1: I smoked him on one and I was like, oh God.
- 50:08Speaker 1: But I thought that in general, the.
- 50:13Speaker 4: It it would talk a lot about like him leaving
- 50:15Speaker 4: the pocket early and not letting plays develop and getting
- 50:17Speaker 4: a little bit antsy. And I give him a lot
- 50:20Speaker 4: of credit because he knew that they were going to
- 50:21Speaker 4: come after him, and he stood in there and he
- 50:24Speaker 4: delivered time and time again. And they spied him a
- 50:28Speaker 4: lot in this game on third down, so like it
- 50:30Speaker 4: would have been playing into their hands if he had
- 50:33Speaker 4: gone out of structure and started running around. That was
- 50:35Speaker 4: what they wanted him to do, and he was able
- 50:38Speaker 4: to stay in the pocket and make throws from the
- 50:40Speaker 4: pocket on time, and I thought that was a big
- 50:43Speaker 4: difference in this game.
- 50:44Speaker 5: Brian in Long Beach, California. What's up?
- 50:46Speaker 2: Brian's Long Beach?
- 50:49Speaker 13: Hey, Ella's first time calling in. I just wanted to
- 50:52Speaker 13: say that this is like the first time in a
- 50:55Speaker 13: long time that big plays have been part of this offense,
- 50:58Speaker 13: and it's been quite a place to actually watch enjoyable play.
- 51:03Speaker 13: It's kind of like when we would watch the Chiefs
- 51:06Speaker 13: and wonder, like, what's so great about this team? Yeah,
- 51:08Speaker 13: and then they put up a big play and like
- 51:10Speaker 13: that's it, that's where it's at, and it's finally time.
- 51:13Speaker 8: For us to do that.
- 51:14Speaker 5: Yeah, we got some players a stranger.
- 51:18Speaker 1: In my view, what's the biggest difference in the offense
- 51:20Speaker 1: from the last few years is their ability to get
- 51:22Speaker 1: chunks and not have to I mean, they had one
- 51:24Speaker 1: drive on Sunday. No, I know that's an extreme. This
- 51:26Speaker 1: particular game is an extreme. You can't live like that.
- 51:28Speaker 1: They had three touchdown drives or two plays or less. Yeah,
- 51:31Speaker 1: you can't do that every week. But the ability to
- 51:34Speaker 1: get the ball down the field so it doesn't have
- 51:36Speaker 1: to be a fourteen play drive all the time is
- 51:38Speaker 1: why you're what was it eighth in points as opposed
- 51:42Speaker 1: to twenty eighth or to defend Fred.
- 51:44Speaker 4: Yeah, their third and explosive play rate, you know past
- 51:46Speaker 4: play rate right now, that's an offense and I would
- 51:49Speaker 4: say that this is like the last time that they
- 51:51Speaker 4: were this explosive was probably like twenty seventeen, like with
- 51:54Speaker 4: Brandon Cooks and that offense.
- 51:56Speaker 1: Like, yeah, it's not even just going back.
- 51:58Speaker 4: Through obviously post Brady, Like the last couple of years
- 52:02Speaker 4: with Brady they worked this explosive either offensively in eighteen
- 52:05Speaker 4: and nineteen, so they they've really that's that's their offense now.
- 52:09Speaker 4: And I think that it's a testament to to you know,
- 52:12Speaker 4: I don't think that they're running it the Brady offense
- 52:16Speaker 4: like for in terms of Josh McDaniels, Like, I don't
- 52:19Speaker 4: think that they were throwing bombs like this with Brady
- 52:21Speaker 4: maybe like oh seven, but that was because you had
- 52:23Speaker 4: Randy Moss and a Hall of Fame receiver, Like this
- 52:26Speaker 4: isn't They don't have a Randy Moss running out there
- 52:28Speaker 4: that's taking the top off the defense. And they're still
- 52:31Speaker 4: super super explosive. And and I think that that has
- 52:34Speaker 4: a lot to do with Drake.
- 52:35Speaker 6: Well, what was your reaction in the press box when
- 52:37Speaker 6: Drake throw that that they're hold on? Welly sorry ballame
- 52:40Speaker 6: h when he threw that downfield pas to mac collins.
- 52:42Speaker 6: So that because that to me is just it's the
- 52:44Speaker 6: confidence that you have.
- 52:45Speaker 4: Yeah, like that, So they're in Cover three in the
- 52:48Speaker 4: corners like bailing and Zion McCollum is just like backpedaling
- 52:53Speaker 4: and backpedaling and he's like, there's no way this ball
- 52:55Speaker 4: is going over my head, and sure enough it goes
- 52:58Speaker 4: right over his head. Like that's an really, there's no
- 53:02Speaker 4: you should not be able to outthrow an NFL cornerback
- 53:05Speaker 4: like that.
- 53:06Speaker 1: And he's done that twice now in New Orleans.
- 53:08Speaker 4: It didn't count, but both those times, like the cornerback
- 53:11Speaker 4: is like he's looking up and he's looking up and
- 53:12Speaker 4: he's like, is it's still going?
- 53:14Speaker 2: Like you know?
- 53:15Speaker 1: And sure enough it did.
- 53:16Speaker 5: Williams and Fort Lauderdale.
- 53:18Speaker 2: William you go to the elbow room, Actually we did.
- 53:23Speaker 14: It's actually emailed a couple of days ago Soda that
- 53:26Speaker 14: I was bringing my mom up she you know, battling
- 53:29Speaker 14: cancer right now. And we went on Saturday to sorry,
- 53:33Speaker 14: not the elbow room. On Saturday, we went to the
- 53:36Speaker 14: past Tampa clubs that yeah, you talked about. That was
- 53:40Speaker 14: really fun. That was cool. It took a couple of
- 53:42Speaker 14: pictures of Pat Patriot. That was fun. But I do
- 53:44Speaker 14: have a bone to pick with hats fans. We sat
- 53:47Speaker 14: on the sideline and there were so many fans I'm
- 53:50Speaker 14: talking about like we literally like took over the whole
- 53:53Speaker 14: entire stadium. But nobody was cheering, and we were trying
- 53:56Speaker 14: to get everybody all hyped up. We were trying to
- 53:58Speaker 14: get everybody to scream MVP. But it was everybody was
- 54:01Speaker 14: kind of a bunch of bummers. Man, it was. It
- 54:03Speaker 14: really could have been louder in there, if they if
- 54:05Speaker 14: everybody started a chance.
- 54:07Speaker 2: Wow. I mean I was sitting in the press box
- 54:09Speaker 2: with closed windows and I could hear the MVP chance Yeah,
- 54:12Speaker 2: heard on TV. It wasn't that.
- 54:14Speaker 14: It wasn't that. It wasn't that loud. It was it
- 54:17Speaker 14: could have been. I mean, it could have been louder.
- 54:18Speaker 14: But I okay, there's so many people not cheering. There
- 54:21Speaker 14: was and I do want to leave. I have a
- 54:23Speaker 14: question for you guys. I'm worried about our depth on
- 54:26Speaker 14: running back. So I saw through Al Jennings get hurt.
- 54:29Speaker 14: I'm a little worried about what's going to happen when.
- 54:31Speaker 15: We go, you know, if we're going to the playoffs,
- 54:33Speaker 15: we try.
- 54:34Speaker 14: To make a run. What do you guys think our
- 54:35Speaker 14: options are now that the trade deadline has passed by
- 54:39Speaker 14: Thanks take it off.
- 54:40Speaker 1: The okay, thanks rolling with what they got. I mean
- 54:43Speaker 1: I think you're looking at getting Remondre back so yeah,
- 54:45Speaker 1: I think that's the.
- 54:48Speaker 4: That's the best case scenario. I mean Henderson, I think
- 54:51Speaker 4: this has allowed him to break out a little bit
- 54:52Speaker 4: and playing a little bit more and getting some opportunities,
- 54:56Speaker 4: and hopefully that continues, and then you get Remondre back, and.
- 55:00Speaker 6: Yeah, maybe Jennings is healthy, can sprinkle in Jennings as
- 55:02Speaker 6: the third back, maybe spell Remandree a little bit. But
- 55:05Speaker 6: I think, I mean, I think, if anything, it would
- 55:07Speaker 6: really benefit Henderson to be able to not have to
- 55:10Speaker 6: be so much in the spotlight and be able to
- 55:12Speaker 6: pick your spots with him, and maybe these plays from
- 55:14Speaker 6: last week will give him some confidence.
- 55:17Speaker 5: Brianna's from southern cal you know where.
- 55:20Speaker 1: I don't think so.
- 55:21Speaker 2: She wants to thank us. She's been listening since twenty sixteen.
- 55:26Speaker 2: We make all the ups and ups fun and the
- 55:29Speaker 2: downs easier to stomach. This year has brought me so
- 55:31Speaker 2: much joy. However, my husband says I need heart medication
- 55:35Speaker 2: after watching the last two games. Of course, I'd rather
- 55:38Speaker 2: be doing well, but just but last year was a
- 55:40Speaker 2: little easier on my heart in mental health. Really, guess
- 55:44Speaker 2: the anxiety is a good sign. I'll take it. Also,
- 55:47Speaker 2: a lot of arguments this year especially between Paul and Evan.
- 55:50Speaker 2: I think that means we're back. Go Pats, and thanks
- 55:53Speaker 2: for all you guys do for us.
- 55:57Speaker 6: Definitely different, definitely different on a seven game winster than
- 56:00Speaker 6: a four win season for sure.
- 56:02Speaker 1: Still have to get to those agrievances. Oh yeah, what
- 56:04Speaker 1: do you.
- 56:07Speaker 6: Before lunch because after we'll do it after.
- 56:10Speaker 1: We're gonna do it after because I just feel like,
- 56:13Speaker 1: you know, there were some things that I need to
- 56:15Speaker 1: work on the tape.
- 56:16Speaker 2: Yeah, offensive, defensive well, Rhett writes in He says Drake
- 56:20Speaker 2: cannot throw that end zone interception with five minutes left
- 56:23Speaker 2: in the fourth quarter. Otherwise it was an MVP performance.
- 56:27Speaker 2: I'm not sure we win if Baker had all his weapons,
- 56:30Speaker 2: Evans God went Bucky. He was relying on two rookie
- 56:33Speaker 2: wide receivers and ted Igbuka and Tez. Yes, I know
- 56:37Speaker 2: we were missing Booty and Stevenson two, but Hollins and
- 56:40Speaker 2: Henderson stepped up big. Lastly, good news for the Patriots.
- 56:43Speaker 2: The Chiefs will play the Colts the Chargers in the
- 56:46Speaker 2: Broncos twice, meaning we have a good chance of getting
- 56:49Speaker 2: the number one seed, or Chiefs could lose these games
- 56:52Speaker 2: and likely be eliminated from playoff contention.
- 56:56Speaker 4: I think that this year, maybe more than any other
- 56:59Speaker 4: year that I've been interested in, the playoff seeding, the
- 57:05Speaker 4: number one seed might be the most important it's ever been,
- 57:08Speaker 4: because the three wild card teams are going to be
- 57:13Speaker 4: like Buffalo, Casey and Baltimore, you know, like so like
- 57:17Speaker 4: as great of a year as they've had. If you
- 57:20Speaker 4: you know, are the two or three seed and then
- 57:22Speaker 4: Buffalo's coming here wild card weekend like that, all could
- 57:26Speaker 4: go up in flames, really really quickly.
- 57:28Speaker 2: So so, Paul, A lot of people compare, is this
- 57:32Speaker 2: team like the one team? Is it more like the
- 57:35Speaker 2: ninety sixteen where that year Denver got knocked out and
- 57:39Speaker 2: the Patriots ended up having that home game, remember on
- 57:42Speaker 2: the path to the super Bowl?
- 57:44Speaker 1: No, I do remember. I don't know if I would
- 57:47Speaker 1: This to me is different because I think you have
- 57:50Speaker 1: I mean, I guess it's ninety six ish. You know,
- 57:52Speaker 1: you have a second year quarterback. You know, Drew was
- 57:55Speaker 1: in what fourth year at the time.
- 57:57Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't know that.
- 58:01Speaker 1: There's a team that I you know, I'm not telling
- 58:03Speaker 1: you I want to play that gauntlet that Devon just
- 58:05Speaker 1: talked about. But in ninety six. I did not want
- 58:09Speaker 1: to play Denver. I don't know if there's a team
- 58:11Speaker 1: that I would say that about. Okay, yeah, it's not
- 58:14Speaker 1: a top you know again, what I'd rather play Jacksonville.
- 58:17Speaker 1: Let's let's say that they get the let's say they
- 58:19Speaker 1: win the division, but they don't get the number one
- 58:22Speaker 1: seed and they're the two seed, so you play seven.
- 58:26Speaker 1: I'll take Jacksonville or the Chargers over Kansas City or Baltimore,
- 58:32Speaker 1: which would be the options, you know. But I'm not
- 58:35Speaker 1: necessarily sitting there saying, oh geez, I don't want to
- 58:37Speaker 1: have to host Kansas City. We had no shots a
- 58:42Speaker 1: little there's no good team.
- 58:45Speaker 5: Elicit your chops to play run defense is so good.
- 58:49Speaker 1: That's a that's a really interesting matchup that i'd love
- 58:51Speaker 1: to see. I'd love to see it.
- 58:52Speaker 6: I mean, that's it's exactly what you're thinking when they
- 58:55Speaker 6: go against a team like that. But they're they're they've
- 58:57Speaker 6: got a gauntlet to go through to I think they'll
- 58:59Speaker 6: they'll they'll middle out a little bit.
- 59:01Speaker 4: I just worried, Like I wouldn't say they have no chance,
- 59:03Speaker 4: but I worry that a team like Kansas City is
- 59:06Speaker 4: going to turn the flip the switch. Oh yeah, like Baltimore,
- 59:11Speaker 4: everybody's going right. I I you know, Buffalo is a
- 59:14Speaker 4: little bit different because they shouldn't be flipping switches.
- 59:16Speaker 1: They should be They're going the other way with the injury, right.
- 59:18Speaker 1: The other teams are getting healthy, they're going the other right.
- 59:21Speaker 1: Like if Kansas City.
- 59:22Speaker 2: When the windows shut, you get hurt, get there, crap
- 59:24Speaker 2: togetherst year, everybody stayed healthy for them.
- 59:27Speaker 1: What with Oliver? Is he out for Yeah?
- 59:32Speaker 2: But is that like, you know, is.
- 59:33Speaker 4: Kansas City like the the end of the Brady era,
- 59:36Speaker 4: like in twenty eighteen where they kind of stumble into
- 59:38Speaker 4: the playoffs but then once they get in, they flip
- 59:41Speaker 4: the switch and all of a sudden they're in the
- 59:43Speaker 4: super Bowl again.
- 59:44Speaker 1: Like that would not be my first choice.
- 59:46Speaker 5: Yeah, Alex is in Pennsylvania.
- 59:48Speaker 2: Hey Alex, Hey friend, what's going on? Hey?
- 59:54Speaker 10: Hey, So, I just thinking the other day when I
- 59:57Speaker 10: was watching this game that I can't remember having this
- 1:00:00Speaker 10: much fun watching a team. You know, even to get
- 1:00:04Speaker 10: back to to Deuce where I first started listening with
- 1:00:07Speaker 10: Deuces first week. But you know, even in the Brady area,
- 1:00:10Speaker 10: the expectations were so high and I just feel like
- 1:00:14Speaker 10: this this team is so much fun to watch, and
- 1:00:17Speaker 10: you know that goal line stand in Rabel going forward
- 1:00:19Speaker 10: on fourth down, even though I probably wasn't the happiest person,
- 1:00:23Speaker 10: but it worked out well. I just I just have
- 1:00:26Speaker 10: so much fun watching it. It's just feels a little
- 1:00:28Speaker 10: less stressful and.
- 1:00:30Speaker 12: A lot more fun.
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: Yeah, every week is different. You know, something somebody else
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: steps up. It's it's been great to watch. Thanks Alex
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: so he brought up going forward on fourth down. I
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: think it's time for Paul's school of clock management. What
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: did you think about Trevian Should he have gone in
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: and scored or not?
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: I think we talked about that.
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: Do you think he should have he.
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: Should have gone down? You think he should have became
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: what you're talking about the end of the game, At
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: the end of the game. Yeah, but you really don't listen.
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: I don't, Yeah, I don't. I wouldn't kill him for
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: scoring because either way the game should be over. If
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: you go win and score, you have a two score
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: lead with the minute and a half left, the game
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: should be over. And if you lose, it's not Trevi
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: on Henderson's fault that you lost. If you give up
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: a touchdown and on side kick and a touchdown. That said,
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: if he goes down, you can't lose unless you fumble
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: the snap. Yep, because you take three knees and the
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: game's over. Yeah, I think you people do in the
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: playoffs right, sort of confusing something. The Bucks had two
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: timeouts left and they think, well, one play, two plays, timeout, timeout. No,
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: they would have had to take a timeout before first
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: down because after Trevion's run. After the run, so let's
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: just say there is a minute twenty five left, they
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: have to call timeout. So now you run a play,
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: maybe you have drake, you know, step back a couple
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: of yards, takes three or four seconds off the clock.
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: Time out. Now they can't stop the clock anymore. You
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: can do that two more times. The game's over. But
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: I'm not going to kill a kid for going into
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: the end zone to give a two school a lead.
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: In the final time.
- 1:02:04Speaker 5: I would have given him the green light, let him score.
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:02:07Speaker 6: In the moment, I was like, go kid, go finish
- 1:02:09Speaker 6: your great day. But then when you really think about it,
- 1:02:11Speaker 6: it's hard to do the math on the in the moment.
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: Well, the end of the half, that's what I wanted
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: to that's the next one.
- 1:02:20Speaker 5: That's the next one not.
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: Scoring on purpose?
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: Loved it.
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: It didn't matter.
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: If I.
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: Absolutely loved it. Now I would have scored.
- 1:02:29Speaker 7: Popped into my head and I was like, I need
- 1:02:31Speaker 7: a Paul Cameron.
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: I would have scored before fourth down.
- 1:02:34Speaker 4: I probably would would have like was nothing whole, but
- 1:02:38Speaker 4: to do what they did on first down, to bleed
- 1:02:40Speaker 4: forty seconds off the clock, I thought was was like,
- 1:02:43Speaker 4: you think that was a masterclass some of those Yeah,
- 1:02:46Speaker 4: like the old Belichick, you know Strokes a genius, Like
- 1:02:49Speaker 4: I thought that was exactly it. And I thought that
- 1:02:52Speaker 4: his answer Rabel after the game told me it was
- 1:02:55Speaker 4: exactly it because he was so coy about I think
- 1:02:58Speaker 4: it was Greg that asked the question, but Dard and
- 1:03:00Speaker 4: he wouldn't answer whether or not it was on purpose
- 1:03:02Speaker 4: or not. And I think that that told me that
- 1:03:05Speaker 4: he was doing it on purpose, and so it was
- 1:03:08Speaker 4: on purpose.
- 1:03:08Speaker 5: Yeah, And you didn't like that, I'm out hated it.
- 1:03:12Speaker 5: So you don't like giving up downs.
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: I was told that it's hard to do these things
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: in this league, hard to win, it's hard to score. Yes,
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: I guess it's not. They just decided that we're going
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: to score on fourth down.
- 1:03:25Speaker 4: Wow, I don't think that was the plan, agreed, Yeah,
- 1:03:28Speaker 4: I think you did it once, Like second, third, and
- 1:03:31Speaker 4: fourth down are like, now you need to try to
- 1:03:34Speaker 4: score on second starting on second right, but on first down,
- 1:03:38Speaker 4: like why not? Like you, I don't understand because it's hard,
- 1:03:41Speaker 4: but you still.
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: Have three more downs.
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: You have it, right, you have it in your mind.
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: It's four downs. We're going to do this on four downs.
- 1:03:47Speaker 4: Or even two downs, like even if you're going to
- 1:03:49Speaker 4: kick the field goal on fourth down, like, you still
- 1:03:51Speaker 4: have two more plays from the one yard line. If
- 1:03:53Speaker 4: you can't score in three plays on the one yard line,
- 1:03:56Speaker 4: then you stink like that.
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: That's that's what they don't stink. But it came really clothed.
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: They came in an unbelievable catch away from not scoring
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: on four months right. Yeah, it's one of the best
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: catches of the season. They flirted a little bit too
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: close to this, and I don't think the I think
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: the other team was trying to keep them out and
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: it's hard distinct.
- 1:04:13Speaker 8: Thing was a.
- 1:04:15Speaker 4: Dante Scarneckia thing. If you can't get one yard, no,
- 1:04:18Speaker 4: I don't need that's a hard yard to get.
- 1:04:21Speaker 10: I just.
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: I'm not expecting to see that this year. I'm not
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: expecting to see that again this year too.
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: Cute.
- 1:04:30Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't know.
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: I mean what it made me think about though, is
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: not necessarily this game.
- 1:04:34Speaker 6: But if that's Patrick Mahomes or Josh Allen and this
- 1:04:37Speaker 6: is a playoff game and you're saying we can't give
- 1:04:40Speaker 6: the ball back to these guys, you know, that's where
- 1:04:43Speaker 6: I kind of start to live where teams score if
- 1:04:45Speaker 6: there's twenty seconds left, there's a chance they're getting I.
- 1:04:47Speaker 5: Think it makes a big difference to the end of.
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: Want to score because I have the other team that
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: I respect their ability to score, so I need to score.
- 1:04:54Speaker 6: But is it we're taking an extra step to say
- 1:04:56Speaker 6: we're not only going to score, but we got to
- 1:04:57Speaker 6: make sure that we do everything we can to not
- 1:04:59Speaker 6: lead this guy enough time to exactly.
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: I disagree.
- 1:05:02Speaker 4: I mean, they had it totally perfectly set up, Like
- 1:05:05Speaker 4: de Deuce's point. They what Kensey scored in what twelve
- 1:05:08Speaker 4: seconds against Buffalo in the playoffs, like this is that's.
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: A desperation situation at the end of the game where
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: if you don't score, the season's over. They're not going
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: to be the same kind of urgency at the end
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: of a half.
- 1:05:18Speaker 4: I think if they got the ball, if they score
- 1:05:20Speaker 4: on first down, I think there would have been like
- 1:05:22Speaker 4: a minute left.
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: Oh sure, that's different if if you scored. But I
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: don't know why. It's okay if we're down ten to
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: seven at the half, but not okay if we're down
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: seventeen fourteen at the half, Like if we go in
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: and score and make it fourteen ten. The worst that
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: could have happened is you left them too much time
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: and they got on score a touchdown. But they were
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: content to only be up, be down ten to seven
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: because they didn't really care if they scored or not.
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: They just wanted to get the clock running.
- 1:05:45Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
- 1:05:47Speaker 2: I don't think that's fair to say. I think they
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: were just being a little risky there.
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: I think that was too I can't do this. I'm out.
- 1:05:58Speaker 2: I'm out. What it's analysis, it's fair analysis. You don't
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: have to agree with every call.
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: Not here, it's not. Oh, it's unnecessarily objective.
- 1:06:10Speaker 5: No, listen.
- 1:06:11Speaker 2: Santo has the Good and bads for Drake May. We
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: want objectivity, here we go, says the Good. May continues
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: to hit his targets at an unbelievable rate lower than
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: his average. The bad may floats the ball in the rain.
- 1:06:28Speaker 2: I wonder if the coaches are preparing Drake for the
- 1:06:31Speaker 2: bad weather a practice. I have some concerns.
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: Well, here comes. Do you agree?
- 1:06:37Speaker 3: I I.
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: This is a cause and effect thing. I agree that
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: the first few passes of the game were floated. I'm
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: not necessarily telling you it's because of the rain. I've
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: seen him do this early in games behind you Pars, Okay,
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: I'm not telling you that that's why. Tony Romo said
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: he is struggling throwing the ball in the rain. He
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: knows a hell of a lot more about quarterback player
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: than I will ever talk about.
- 1:06:56Speaker 2: His Well, he was struggling and it was raining, so
- 1:06:59Speaker 2: you know, he's kind of.
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: Under the ball a little bit. I just think the
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: point you made is we've seen that before. He's a
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: little high. Come out, he's a little high. I mean,
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: that's early in the times.
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: It's a thing we talked about the ugly Drake's interception
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: in the end zone.
- 1:07:10Speaker 5: Most concerning Drake got hit in the head just a
- 1:07:13Speaker 5: few minutes earlier.
- 1:07:13Speaker 2: I'm so worried about his health and now and now
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: the great Drake had to deal with a rather poor
- 1:07:20Speaker 2: running game minus two super runs throwing against the top defense.
- 1:07:24Speaker 2: I do not care what his rating is in this game.
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: This is clearly an MVP move. Stanford has plenty of
- 1:07:29Speaker 2: targets and a better O line. I wish I had
- 1:07:31Speaker 2: a vote. Stafford wrote, literally, he had a PhD, so
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: I didn't know if he went to Stanford, and it
- 1:07:39Speaker 2: was just relating to his school.
- 1:07:41Speaker 4: But all right, how Paul feels about talking about the
- 1:07:45Speaker 4: end of the half is how I feel about talking
- 1:07:47Speaker 4: about Tony Romo. Like, I'm just not going to do
- 1:07:50Speaker 4: it today. But I thought that he did you listen to.
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: That's exactly it like, and I don't have to.
- 1:07:59Speaker 11: I was.
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: I was pissed about this for like two days, but
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: like this is like you were listening to him. It
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: was as mad at that as it was nationally. This is, oh,
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: it's the same thing.
- 1:08:10Speaker 4: It's so like, okay, so you you haven't you haven't
- 1:08:15Speaker 4: been on this on a Drake may game ever, you've
- 1:08:18Speaker 4: never called him. And then you go on the broadcast
- 1:08:20Speaker 4: and you have all these opinions about his throwing motion
- 1:08:23Speaker 4: and the rain and this that the other thing, and
- 1:08:25Speaker 4: then you tell people that he can't throw the ball
- 1:08:27Speaker 4: in the rain because you have never seen him throw
- 1:08:30Speaker 4: the ball in the rain.
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 1:08:32Speaker 4: This is the first time you're watching him ever throw
- 1:08:34Speaker 4: the ball in the rain, period, because you've never seen
- 1:08:36Speaker 4: him play in person.
- 1:08:38Speaker 2: If he had.
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: Decided to, I don't know, maybe watch all of the
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: games this year, he would have seen another one in
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: the rain where he didn't throw that in the rain,
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: he would have had more ammunition. But evidently that was
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: the first time you ever saw him throw in the rain.
- 1:08:49Speaker 4: And so he says this, it's the first time I've
- 1:08:51Speaker 4: ever seen him throw in the rain. It says, the
- 1:08:53Speaker 4: first time you've ever seen him throw, period, Tony, you've
- 1:08:56Speaker 4: never called one of.
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: His games before.
- 1:08:58Speaker 4: So if you knew, like Paul said, that every once
- 1:09:01Speaker 4: in a while he's a little jacked up and he
- 1:09:03Speaker 4: comes out and he airmails him throws early on in
- 1:09:05Speaker 4: the game, and then he settles into the game and
- 1:09:07Speaker 4: he usually throws the ball. Well, then if you knew that,
- 1:09:10Speaker 4: then maybe you wouldn't make a big deal out of this,
- 1:09:12Speaker 4: so I don't have to spend two freaking days listening.
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: Well, is it a concern that he throws the ball
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: well in the rain is going to be you know Evan,
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: Like Tony Romo said, Yeah, Tony.
- 1:09:28Speaker 2: I noticed after the game, Nance was up in the
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: press box, you know, passing through, and he had a
- 1:09:33Speaker 2: big entourage with him.
- 1:09:34Speaker 5: Romo wasn't with him. No, he must have left separately.
- 1:09:37Speaker 4: Not all of us can play in domes our entire career,
- 1:09:40Speaker 4: Tony roll, Why don't you go.
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: Work on holding extra points?
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: Person?
- 1:09:47Speaker 6: So did you actually listen to Hi during the game,
- 1:09:49Speaker 6: or is this all retroactive?
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: You're hearing the retroactor because it's you.
- 1:09:52Speaker 4: What it is is It's like I'm sitting there, I'm
- 1:09:55Speaker 4: not watching the broadcast, right, That's I know.
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: I'm very lucky. I get to be at the games.
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: I got it.
- 1:10:02Speaker 4: I'm not watching the broadcast. But then my mentions are
- 1:10:06Speaker 4: just flooded with these narratives that are just coming out
- 1:10:09Speaker 4: of nowhere to me, like I have no on the bad, right,
- 1:10:12Speaker 4: I have no idea what anybody's talking about. So finally,
- 1:10:15Speaker 4: you know, there was a throw to Hunter Henry that
- 1:10:18Speaker 4: they were they were on different pages, you know, Hunter
- 1:10:20Speaker 4: Henry sat Drake May thought he was going to break
- 1:10:23Speaker 4: he sat whatever, and then Tony Romo is saying it's
- 1:10:25Speaker 4: Hunter Henry's fault, and I'm just getting oh, Hunter Henry
- 1:10:28Speaker 4: bad route, and I'm.
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: Like, who's this and it's Tony freaking Rome.
- 1:10:33Speaker 2: I'm gonna take a break, but before we do one

- 1:13:32Speaker 8: again today's walk through. We'll try to do our best
- 1:13:35Speaker 8: with the injury report. We'll see what he's able to do.
- 1:13:39Speaker 8: I would say the same with all those guys that
- 1:13:41Speaker 8: weren't out, weren't available for the game yesterday. I think
- 1:13:47Speaker 8: that they're working extremely hard and I think that they
- 1:13:51Speaker 8: you know, we'll see what they can do with the
- 1:13:52Speaker 8: walk through. They'll probably do a little bit more, and
- 1:13:54Speaker 8: then we'll try to evaluate so we can make some
- 1:13:56Speaker 8: decisions for the game, like.
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: Tall once yesterday. I'm just wondering how you felt he
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: managed those situations where he was pressured.
- 1:14:06Speaker 8: I thought, well, and I think you see him pull
- 1:14:09Speaker 8: through there with two hands on the football, you know,
- 1:14:14Speaker 8: and then complete a pass. I thought that was really cool,
- 1:14:18Speaker 8: big play for us, being able to take care of
- 1:14:19Speaker 8: football but then also be able to extend and find
- 1:14:24Speaker 8: and get a conversion for us, you know. I think
- 1:14:28Speaker 8: it always can be better, you know, But I thought
- 1:14:33Speaker 8: we gave ourselves a chance and protection, and there was
- 1:14:36Speaker 8: a couple of times where you know, the pressure got
- 1:14:38Speaker 8: to us. So we'll keep working on it. We'll keep
- 1:14:42Speaker 8: you know, talking to Drake and then allowing him to extend,
- 1:14:45Speaker 8: but also be being smart when he does extend.
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: Drives outsensive drives in the third quarter. Roc the last
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: six or seven weeks, you guys have had a good
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: success in each one of them.
- 1:14:55Speaker 8: Are there any commonalities undertaining that every game is?
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: Definitely, but are there any commonalities when you are able
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: to successful?
- 1:15:02Speaker 8: Yesterday is a little different, just because the X play.
- 1:15:04Speaker 8: I think just trying to get into a rhythm for
- 1:15:07Speaker 8: us is probably always key. It's like a lot of offenses.
- 1:15:10Speaker 8: Is trying to get into a rhythm and have a
- 1:15:13Speaker 8: flow to you that allows you to you know, mixed packages,
- 1:15:17Speaker 8: mix plays. You know, show looks, compliment looks that you showed,
- 1:15:23Speaker 8: so I think that's important, or just hit a big
- 1:15:26Speaker 8: play that that helps too.
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: How important is self scouting at this point in the
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: season and is it harder when you've got so long
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: that out of buy and obviously they want a short week.
- 1:15:35Speaker 8: I think we're always trying to figure out what other
- 1:15:36Speaker 8: teams are looking at, seeing what works, and making sure
- 1:15:42Speaker 8: that our players understand that that there's going to be
- 1:15:44Speaker 8: things that that people are going to do and when
- 1:15:49Speaker 8: you see it on tape. He didn't take somebody to
- 1:15:52Speaker 8: be that creative to say, hey we should try this.
- 1:15:54Speaker 8: So you have to learn from the things that you're
- 1:15:57Speaker 8: seeing and be ready to anticipate, you know, things there's
- 1:16:01Speaker 8: you want to turn into a completely game plan and
- 1:16:03Speaker 8: team and change things. You want to do things that
- 1:16:05Speaker 8: your players are comfortable with and understand, but then know
- 1:16:09Speaker 8: what that comes. You know, some things that you're going
- 1:16:12Speaker 8: to have to defend based on the fact that you
- 1:16:16Speaker 8: are in certain coverages or you're in you know, certain
- 1:16:19Speaker 8: play you and run certain plays offensively, which is fine.
- 1:16:22Speaker 8: There has to be a good balance, uh to that.
- 1:16:25Speaker 8: You don't want to just make stuff up every week.
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: Like if you learn anything about the short week, either
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: as a player or a coach, that kind of gives
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: you an idea of what's best for your team, uh.
- 1:16:36Speaker 8: Because each one different is man, I think you just
- 1:16:38Speaker 8: instead of just running around here telling everybody it's Thursday,
- 1:16:41Speaker 8: that's about it. It's about all you can do. And
- 1:16:45Speaker 8: I've tried to do that to the best of my
- 1:16:46Speaker 8: ability so far. Today. Just try to get physically recovered
- 1:16:51Speaker 8: the best that we can. Tough game on the road.
- 1:16:54Speaker 8: So we'll try to do that, and then just keep
- 1:16:57Speaker 8: in mind everybody it's Thursday. They believe it. I don't
- 1:17:00Speaker 8: you have to ask them.
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: I feel like prectic seasons started.
- 1:17:06Speaker 8: I'm just curious what you see from this groove and
- 1:17:10Speaker 8: furiously a little good physicality. Well, I think he's comfortable.
- 1:17:14Speaker 8: I think he's, you know, again, been able to been available,
- 1:17:19Speaker 8: which is really important. Finding some ball production, you know,
- 1:17:23Speaker 8: I mean breaking the passes up. They made a really
- 1:17:27Speaker 8: good play on him yesterday in the end zone, which
- 1:17:29Speaker 8: was you know, I was asking, hey, did he look back.
- 1:17:33Speaker 8: Did he go with the wrong hand, you know, guys
- 1:17:35Speaker 8: upstairs and are like, no, he didn't look back and
- 1:17:38Speaker 8: it's perfect ball and then beat him in the end zone.
- 1:17:41Speaker 8: So but I think you see him becoming more comfortable
- 1:17:44Speaker 8: and willing to to trigger and tackling in this league
- 1:17:50Speaker 8: so critical of the back end to eliminate you know,
- 1:17:53Speaker 8: those big plays in the running game or short passes,
- 1:17:56Speaker 8: and you know they've done a good job of that.
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: He mentioned after the game that he tries to prepare
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: every week like he is a starter.
- 1:18:05Speaker 16: I'm curious if that's something you've noticed from him during practice,
- 1:18:08Speaker 16: just the way that he has.
- 1:18:10Speaker 2: Been preparing this season.
- 1:18:12Speaker 8: I mean, I think so, I hope so. I mean
- 1:18:14Speaker 8: that's what we ask of all the players, and I
- 1:18:17Speaker 8: think that you know, Kyle is a good mixture of
- 1:18:20Speaker 8: getting some reps with our offense and also working on
- 1:18:23Speaker 8: the show team to be able to improve that way
- 1:18:26Speaker 8: and work and develop. So anything that he can do
- 1:18:31Speaker 8: and we can do to help them get ready for
- 1:18:33Speaker 8: the game and gain confidence and those types of things.
- 1:18:37Speaker 8: And I'm all for on sidekick there as perfectly executed
- 1:18:43Speaker 8: with Diggs and in any way an adjustment to a
- 1:18:46Speaker 8: couple of weeks ago when another team got well, you know,
- 1:18:51Speaker 8: I mean you have to determine what they're going to do,
- 1:18:53Speaker 8: you know, trying to figure out what they're going to do,
- 1:18:56Speaker 8: you know, the different types of kicks and the locations,
- 1:18:59Speaker 8: and you don't have so many people to work with
- 1:19:02Speaker 8: at the line of scrimmage where you can allocate bodies.
- 1:19:06Speaker 8: So that was a huge recovery. Great play by a
- 1:19:12Speaker 8: player that we trust, and we have to try to
- 1:19:14Speaker 8: go and protect him. That's something that we always talk about,
- 1:19:17Speaker 8: So try to get as many bodies as we can
- 1:19:19Speaker 8: in front of them, and you know we didn't. It's
- 1:19:22Speaker 8: hard to get them all blocked, especially with a good
- 1:19:24Speaker 8: kick like that, and Digsy went up and was able
- 1:19:28Speaker 8: to secure it.
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: Like Court Garden has brought the teams it's got.
- 1:19:33Speaker 8: I think he's excited about playing. I think he brings
- 1:19:36Speaker 8: a good size, good physicality, good energy. It seems like
- 1:19:40Speaker 8: he's always, you know, excited after every player or the
- 1:19:46Speaker 8: plays that he's involved with. So I think he's one
- 1:19:50Speaker 8: of those players. It's like a lot of guys taking
- 1:19:52Speaker 8: advantage of the opportunity that he's gotten. And you know,
- 1:19:56Speaker 8: well somewhere else and they made a decision. We were
- 1:20:00Speaker 8: able to bring him in and quickly elevate him and
- 1:20:05Speaker 8: bring him on, and he's done a good job.
- 1:20:07Speaker 16: What's it out to you about working with Bett Hollins?
- 1:20:10Speaker 8: What's it like or what's it mean? I'm sorry?
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: What you what's out to you about working them?
- 1:20:16Speaker 15: Uh?
- 1:20:17Speaker 8: So far from the time that I've met him till now. Oh,
- 1:20:22Speaker 8: you know, I think just mackett. I I appreciate his professionalism.
- 1:20:26Speaker 8: I think at uh you know, don't don't judge a
- 1:20:29Speaker 8: book by its cover.
- 1:20:31Speaker 2: Uh.
- 1:20:32Speaker 8: You know. He walks around like and see no man
- 1:20:34Speaker 8: and but he's but he's smart, he's easy to talk to,
- 1:20:38Speaker 8: enjoy our conversations, great family. I was able to see
- 1:20:42Speaker 8: his family yesterday after the game, so that was fun.
- 1:20:49Speaker 8: I think he's a good leader. I think he does
- 1:20:52Speaker 8: a lot of different things for us, and I like
- 1:20:56Speaker 8: having a meter, like are you a film on the plane?
- 1:20:59Speaker 10: Guy?
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: Does any of your routine change? Coming into a short
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: week here.
- 1:21:03Speaker 8: We tried to move on to the Jets as as
- 1:21:06Speaker 8: quickly as possible. You know, I think everybody was trying
- 1:21:09Speaker 8: to move ahead as quickly as possible, whether that be
- 1:21:13Speaker 8: some of the players or or the coaches. So that
- 1:21:16Speaker 8: was something that we did. And again, we're lucky to
- 1:21:18Speaker 8: have a fantastic video staff, great department that works well
- 1:21:23Speaker 8: with the coaches and provides us with everything that we
- 1:21:26Speaker 8: need and Teddy and Jared and his crew, and so
- 1:21:29Speaker 8: just thankful that those guys are always ready to go.
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: And now great moments in history. The girl talking about
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: what's what's the update, what's the update? Diana, let me
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: you know, we should probably take a break so we
- 1:21:46Speaker 1: can hear this breaking news. Her talking about Doug Marron's
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: job right like her jumpsuit, she looks good.
- 1:21:55Speaker 2: I'm glad.
- 1:21:57Speaker 5: I'm glad we have female representation.
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: Yeah, furthering women in sports for generations to come. I
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: like that's another great moment.
- 1:22:08Speaker 5: All right, back camera. Patriots Unfiltered at eight five to five.

- 1:22:17Speaker 2: comments on the topic that we closed the first half
- 1:22:21Speaker 2: of the show on whether or not they should have
- 1:22:23Speaker 2: wasted that down at the end of the half. Alan
- 1:22:26Speaker 2: in North Carolina and Tony.
- 1:22:29Speaker 5: And where's Tony from? Uh from the UK both agree
- 1:22:33Speaker 5: that it was a sign.
- 1:22:35Speaker 2: Of confidence in the team that he did that believes
- 1:22:40Speaker 2: I agree. So he had confidence that they were going
- 1:22:43Speaker 2: to get the job done and run time off the clock.
- 1:22:48Speaker 5: So and I agree ultimately he was right.
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: This would be a great time for you to do that.
- 1:22:52Speaker 6: Read confidence, have some that we have one of those
- 1:22:55Speaker 6: confidence reads.
- 1:22:56Speaker 2: Well, I will say though, masa down down where I live,
- 1:23:02Speaker 2: I have reports of snow.

- 1:23:45Speaker 1: For your serving. Matt's hurting a little bit today after yesterday.
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: He was hanging in there. He's playing hurt.
- 1:23:51Speaker 5: Oh yeah, what happened?
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: Self inflicted?
- 1:23:53Speaker 2: Oh yeah, a little bit.
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: More than that, dude.
- 1:23:58Speaker 6: You know, Matt, they like him and his brother locked
- 1:23:59Speaker 6: themselves in a basement and they drink and fight each
- 1:24:01Speaker 6: other for like twelve hours.
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: Is that about right?
- 1:24:03Speaker 2: Mat?
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: We had actually two extra marines with us this year,
- 1:24:06Speaker 1: So I four marines fighting each other. Who love it?
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: Not a fireball? Fireball? Early too well? He was in
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: like a little after eight because there was no traffic
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: Temple holiday. Yeah, let's get back to the phones.
- 1:24:29Speaker 2: Uh, they are stacked. We'll go to Randy in Providence.
- 1:24:32Speaker 2: What's up, Randy?
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: Randy?
- 1:24:35Speaker 17: Hey, how's girling? Right?
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: Okay, Randy Watson.
- 1:24:40Speaker 17: I so I have two questions for you guys. Number
- 1:24:43Speaker 17: one about the edge depth, because Landrys, do you guys
- 1:24:49Speaker 17: think he's fully healthy? It's been three games without a fact,
- 1:24:52Speaker 17: the last one of them was in Tennessee and he
- 1:24:54Speaker 17: had that turned ankle in there. I don't know if
- 1:24:57Speaker 17: he's playing fully healthy. But what do you guys think
- 1:25:00Speaker 17: about Chason's future with this team? I mean, I feel
- 1:25:03Speaker 17: like he's at a point where he's probably locked in
- 1:25:07Speaker 17: a multi year extension at the end of the year.
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: Do you guys agree he's playing that way.
- 1:25:11Speaker 4: I just think it's going to get expensive if he
- 1:25:13Speaker 4: keeps on this trajectory. So I'm interested to see what
- 1:25:15Speaker 4: they what they think about that. You know, former first
- 1:25:19Speaker 4: round pick who's really stacked two years of good football
- 1:25:23Speaker 4: in a row now, because he had a decent year
- 1:25:25Speaker 4: last year with the Raiders too. So if he gets
- 1:25:28Speaker 4: the double digit sacks and two straight years a pretty
- 1:25:31Speaker 4: good production, I think he's going to get paid a
- 1:25:33Speaker 4: little bit.
- 1:25:33Speaker 6: So coupled with Landry maybe fading Yeah, no, it does
- 1:25:37Speaker 6: Landry turn it around.
- 1:25:38Speaker 1: You know, they have Landry support it.
- 1:25:40Speaker 6: But if you know, if they realistically think that maybe
- 1:25:42Speaker 6: this is just Landry's fading out, then maybe you got
- 1:25:46Speaker 6: to make a move for Chase on to at least
- 1:25:48Speaker 6: solidify one of those spots.
- 1:25:50Speaker 17: And we saw a Ponder start to produce a little
- 1:25:52Speaker 17: bit in this game, and I wonder if he becomes
- 1:25:54Speaker 17: a more key piece of the rotation as the second
- 1:25:57Speaker 17: half of the season plays out.
- 1:25:59Speaker 12: Yeah, there's one more.
- 1:26:00Speaker 17: Quick question for you guys. I know you guys have
- 1:26:02Speaker 17: talked about kind of slow starting for Drake in terms
- 1:26:06Speaker 17: of like miss throws and stuff in the first quarters
- 1:26:09Speaker 17: and I was kind of looking at the numbers, and
- 1:26:11Speaker 17: two numbers kind of popped out to me. Scoring by
- 1:26:16Speaker 17: quarter in the first, second, and third quarter, we are sixth, fifth,
- 1:26:22Speaker 17: and fifth, respectively. In the fourth quarter, we're twenty ninth
- 1:26:26Speaker 17: in the league, just four point six points per game
- 1:26:29Speaker 17: per quarter. On the flip side of that, the defense
- 1:26:34Speaker 17: twenty sixth in the first quarter, letting out five point
- 1:26:37Speaker 17: seven points per quarter, but the second, third, and fourth
- 1:26:41Speaker 17: quarters are second, second, and eleventh, respectively.
- 1:26:44Speaker 15: So like by the.
- 1:26:45Speaker 17: Numbers, the defense is kind of a slow start, and
- 1:26:49Speaker 17: yet the offense seems to stay down the stretch. I
- 1:26:52Speaker 17: wonder what you guys make of those numbers. I'll just
- 1:26:54Speaker 17: hang up and listen.
- 1:26:55Speaker 5: Yeah, thanks, Randy.
- 1:26:56Speaker 1: I actually think it's you know, I'm just looking at
- 1:26:59Speaker 1: the numbers as you are saying them. I think it's
- 1:27:02Speaker 1: that middle of the game that they're dominating. Second and
- 1:27:05Speaker 1: third quarters I think have been pretty good. And I
- 1:27:09Speaker 1: would check up the lack of points in the fourth
- 1:27:11Speaker 1: quarters because you're in the generally you've had the lead
- 1:27:14Speaker 1: and you don't need to score. The slow starts are
- 1:27:17Speaker 1: pretty self evident. They've given up a lot of first
- 1:27:20Speaker 1: drive scores, you know, more than you'd like. But the
- 1:27:24Speaker 1: fourth quarter the other team has been able to score
- 1:27:26Speaker 1: as well. It's the middle there, you know, like twenty
- 1:27:29Speaker 1: nine points in the third quarter. The Bucks scored a
- 1:27:32Speaker 1: touchdown in the third quarter. I want to say it
- 1:27:33Speaker 1: was like the first one in like four weeks, first
- 1:27:35Speaker 1: points all out in the third quarter in a while.
- 1:27:38Speaker 1: I know Atlanta and Cleveland didn't score, and those are
- 1:27:41Speaker 1: the two most recent games, right, yep, So it's been
- 1:27:44Speaker 1: a while since they've given up third quarter points. I
- 1:27:47Speaker 1: think that's where they're really controlling the game. And a
- 1:27:49Speaker 1: lot of it is they've been fortunate with the deferring.
- 1:27:53Speaker 1: They're winning the coin tosses and getting the defer and
- 1:27:55Speaker 1: they're doubling up they're getting so that takes a lot
- 1:27:58Speaker 1: of that time a coin toss man. But that's like,
- 1:28:03Speaker 1: it's so true. It's such an underrated part of the game.
- 1:28:06Speaker 1: And that's why I never understand why anybody would ever
- 1:28:09Speaker 1: choose to get the ball at the beginning of the game,
- 1:28:11Speaker 1: because that is such a To score twice in a
- 1:28:15Speaker 1: row is such an advantage, and they've done it now.
- 1:28:19Speaker 1: I think they did it. Cleveland, Tennessee double dip back
- 1:28:24Speaker 1: in this game.
- 1:28:25Speaker 4: They only tick the field goal in New Orleans.
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: No, it's not always touchdown. Touchdown.
- 1:28:29Speaker 3: This game was.
- 1:28:30Speaker 4: Touchdown, one of them they only get. Yeah, they so
- 1:28:33Speaker 4: Cleveland was a field goal touchdown. Baker Mayfield leaves the
- 1:28:36Speaker 4: field in the second quarter with a ten to seven lead.
- 1:28:39Speaker 4: The next time he touches the ball, it's twenty one
- 1:28:41Speaker 4: to ten Patriots.
- 1:28:43Speaker 1: And that's just the old Belichick no turn, no stops,
- 1:28:46Speaker 1: nothing like. They just got the ball twice in a row.
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: And if you defer, you give yourself that chance where
- 1:28:54Speaker 1: you can you can score at the end of the
- 1:28:56Speaker 1: half and then get the ball to start the second half.
- 1:28:58Speaker 1: And I think that's a tremendous advantage.
- 1:29:00Speaker 4: Yeah, they weren't doing it very well at the beginning
- 1:29:02Speaker 4: of the year either, and it was something that was
- 1:29:04Speaker 4: standing out that they weren't controlling the middle eight and
- 1:29:06Speaker 4: then the middle AG's the last four minutes of the
- 1:29:08Speaker 4: first half, in the first four minutes of the third quarter,
- 1:29:11Speaker 4: you can double dip and basically put the game away.
- 1:29:15Speaker 4: And they used to do it, you know, the Brady
- 1:29:17Speaker 4: Patriots used to do it like every week. But this
- 1:29:19Speaker 4: team is starting to do it a lot more and
- 1:29:22Speaker 4: they're like automatic on the coin toss. I think they've
- 1:29:25Speaker 4: won like eight out of ten coin tosses or something
- 1:29:27Speaker 4: like that. It's like something crazy like that. So they've
- 1:29:31Speaker 4: done a really nice job in that.
- 1:29:32Speaker 2: Peter in the Netherlands has a good email about Evan xenophobia,
- 1:29:37Speaker 2: but I'm going to save it for the newsletter.
- 1:29:39Speaker 4: I said, I don't know, Alex so with xenophobia of aliens,
- 1:29:44Speaker 4: I'm afraid of aliens.
- 1:29:45Speaker 5: It's kind of a fear of people from other country
- 1:29:47Speaker 5: owners foreigners.
- 1:29:49Speaker 2: Yeah, I was thinking a xeno morph So you'll you'll
- 1:29:52Speaker 2: understand what once you see it in the newsletter.
- 1:29:55Speaker 5: I understand it has to do with your gatekeeper.
- 1:29:59Speaker 1: Oh good. Yeah, I'm very proud of.
- 1:30:04Speaker 11: You.
- 1:30:04Speaker 4: Know, like when like it's like you make fun of
- 1:30:07Speaker 4: your sibling relentlessly, but then if anybody else makes fun
- 1:30:11Speaker 4: of your sibling, then your back gets up. That's how
- 1:30:13Speaker 4: I feel about Drake May.
- 1:30:15Speaker 5: But I criticize.
- 1:30:17Speaker 4: No, No, everybody's sitting in the swim can criticize. Everybody
- 1:30:22Speaker 4: in the swim can criticize because we all and we're
- 1:30:25Speaker 4: all around him at least a decent amount. We all
- 1:30:27Speaker 4: watch him play every single game. You know, these people
- 1:30:31Speaker 4: that parachute in and watch one game in one quarter.
- 1:30:35Speaker 2: You're going to have to share him. No, it's not yours,
- 1:30:39Speaker 2: you're going to have to share.
- 1:30:42Speaker 4: I critique him, you know, all the time, but I
- 1:30:47Speaker 4: come from a place of watching him every single week
- 1:30:51Speaker 4: and watching him make every single throw of his NFL
- 1:30:54Speaker 4: career so far. And then you know, you have these
- 1:30:56Speaker 4: national people or Tony Romo, who's.
- 1:30:59Speaker 5: Coming out of dollars to give their opinion, and I
- 1:31:01Speaker 5: don't want them.
- 1:31:02Speaker 1: To do it, No, I just want them to be
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: educated when they do.
- 1:31:05Speaker 6: Brother, that's it better come correct and you come to Evan, yeah,
- 1:31:08Speaker 6: or you know, I'm gonna let you hear about it.
- 1:31:11Speaker 4: Like I could sit here and say that that interception
- 1:31:14Speaker 4: was clearly can't have it, like they absolutely just cannot
- 1:31:17Speaker 4: have that.
- 1:31:18Speaker 5: But but Tony Romo cannot say that.
- 1:31:20Speaker 4: And Tony Romo can't say, after three passes that he's
- 1:31:23Speaker 4: seen Drake may throw ever in his life, that he
- 1:31:26Speaker 4: can't throw the ball in the rain.
- 1:31:28Speaker 7: And it's more protective of Drake than Drake's three brothers
- 1:31:31Speaker 7: older brothers are of him.
- 1:31:33Speaker 1: I wouldn't say that.
- 1:31:34Speaker 5: I don't know them keep defending that wall.
- 1:31:37Speaker 7: Well until I hear Luke publicly calling out Tony Romo
- 1:31:40Speaker 7: like you'll.
- 1:31:41Speaker 2: Do it for you.
- 1:31:41Speaker 5: You're like, you're like the equivalent of a SWIFTYE for Drake.
- 1:31:45Speaker 5: May you know, don't come after my quarterback.
- 1:31:50Speaker 15: I don't know.
- 1:31:52Speaker 2: I love it, I said swiftly. You keep you keep
- 1:31:55Speaker 2: defending that wall. You go, Shakari writ sin she says,
- 1:32:00Speaker 2: or he says, I'm not sure. Mike is my favorite
- 1:32:03Speaker 2: to listen. I was wondering, what is your take on
- 1:32:06Speaker 2: Gronk's press conference tomorrow? Oh, so Gronk is having a
- 1:32:09Speaker 2: press conference to announce he's retiring as a Patriot. Seems
- 1:32:12Speaker 2: a little It'll be at twelve fifteen during the show.
- 1:32:15Speaker 1: You have some info on that can actually right?
- 1:32:17Speaker 7: I'm random, however, So if you guys know, Gronk opened
- 1:32:23Speaker 7: up a playground this year in Boston, proper, and there's
- 1:32:27Speaker 7: a woman named Susan Hurley who really helped him out
- 1:32:30Speaker 7: with that. She's actually a former Patriots cheerleader, but she
- 1:32:34Speaker 7: started a nonprofit called I Believe It's Charity Teams. She
- 1:32:37Speaker 7: would work with like the Bill Belichick Foundation, the Patriots
- 1:32:40Speaker 7: Foundation to help their marathon teams raise money. Gronk and
- 1:32:44Speaker 7: her were incredibly close, and she was a huge driving
- 1:32:48Speaker 7: force behind the Gronk playground. Unfortunately, she passed away from
- 1:32:54Speaker 7: cancer on November first, and essentially the last time her
- 1:32:58Speaker 7: and Gronk were together was the playground unveiling and Susan
- 1:33:03Speaker 7: spoke at a podium with a bunch of media and
- 1:33:06Speaker 7: children that were about to break ground on the playground,
- 1:33:09Speaker 7: and in her speech, she looked over to mister Kraft,
- 1:33:12Speaker 7: who was there as well, and said, mister Kraft, what
- 1:33:15Speaker 7: do you say, Like, let's make Gronk a patriot for life,
- 1:33:18Speaker 7: Like let's sign the one day contract and get this done.
- 1:33:21Speaker 7: And Robert Kraft gave her the thumbs up. So the
- 1:33:24Speaker 7: hope was that she would be here for this, and.
- 1:33:26Speaker 5: Unfortunately she'll be here in spirit.
- 1:33:28Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 1:33:28Speaker 4: Yeah, great woman, like unbelievable woman.
- 1:33:33Speaker 6: At the time, he does feel random, But I just
- 1:33:35Speaker 6: use to get Rob Gronkowski back in this building, and
- 1:33:37Speaker 6: she's just the best.
- 1:33:39Speaker 5: Not every player does that. Why do you think Gronkowski
- 1:33:42Speaker 5: wants to do.
- 1:33:43Speaker 1: This because of the story.
- 1:33:45Speaker 7: I think diving force for it.
- 1:33:48Speaker 2: Yeah, you think that.
- 1:33:50Speaker 1: It was almost like a I didn't think of that.
- 1:33:55Speaker 1: This woman was really powerful influence on Gronk. Okay, yeah,
- 1:34:00Speaker 1: like they were incredibly close.
- 1:34:01Speaker 7: She gave a speech at this groundbreaking ceremony. Gronk cried
- 1:34:06Speaker 7: at it. Oh it and like there wasn't like just
- 1:34:08Speaker 7: talking about the journey of them working together and how hard.
- 1:34:12Speaker 7: And the part that I think made him cry was
- 1:34:15Speaker 7: it's right across from a hospital, so where Gronk did
- 1:34:18Speaker 7: one of his rehabs, he looked down on this parking
- 1:34:22Speaker 7: lot every day and was like, wow, that'd be a
- 1:34:23Speaker 7: sick spot to ramp up up playground. And then Susan,
- 1:34:28Speaker 7: when she was retrieving receiving treatment for ovarian cancer, was
- 1:34:31Speaker 7: looking down on the same playground. So that really brought
- 1:34:35Speaker 7: him to tears, and like he I've never seen Gronk cry,
- 1:34:38Speaker 7: so this was really emotional. I'm sure mister Craft also
- 1:34:43Speaker 7: would love to have him sign, but it's one of
- 1:34:46Speaker 7: those things where unless the player goes to you and
- 1:34:49Speaker 7: brings it up, it's kind of an awkward thing. Like
- 1:34:53Speaker 7: I don't think mister Krafft wants to be like, hey,
- 1:34:54Speaker 7: do you want to retire a Patriot? But when you
- 1:34:56Speaker 7: have those three forces mister Kraft, Susan Hurley, and all
- 1:35:00Speaker 7: together in one place, it was kind of just like.
- 1:35:03Speaker 1: Yeah, let's do it.
- 1:35:04Speaker 6: And very likely the Hall of Fame guy next year
- 1:35:06Speaker 6: for Patriots Hall of Fame, right, Like he's going to
- 1:35:09Speaker 6: be eligible, so that'll be a party too.
- 1:35:11Speaker 1: So very cool playground. I drive by it quite a
- 1:35:14Speaker 1: bit and it's awesome.
- 1:35:15Speaker 4: Yeah, I say Strow funny apparently, but it's on stro
- 1:35:18Speaker 4: Drive right on the water and uh yeah, it's really
- 1:35:22Speaker 4: cool spot, like right on the water, like Alex said
- 1:35:24Speaker 4: it's and it's packed all the time.
- 1:35:27Speaker 1: Yeah, whenever I drive by it, there's a million.
- 1:35:30Speaker 7: Prime real estate and there's a gronks a ball being
- 1:35:33Speaker 7: spiked that is like part of the jungle gym.
- 1:35:36Speaker 4: Yeah, there's a can see the sign right from the
- 1:35:39Speaker 4: from the street and it's pretty cool.
- 1:35:41Speaker 7: There's quotes from all the Boston athletes on it, like
- 1:35:43Speaker 7: inspirational little messages from like Tom Brady.
- 1:35:47Speaker 5: Brady officially retired.
- 1:35:51Speaker 1: I guess that was that big thing we did last year, right, Well, no.
- 1:35:56Speaker 5: Hall of Fame, but he still Patriot.
- 1:35:59Speaker 2: You have to in the NFL, there's a you know,
- 1:36:02Speaker 2: like paperwork where you actually declare you're retired.
- 1:36:05Speaker 6: Well, I mean he's an owner now too, so I
- 1:36:07Speaker 6: don't know, I don't know. If he could come back
- 1:36:09Speaker 6: either way. I mean, there's a lot of paperwork seem
- 1:36:11Speaker 6: like for him.
- 1:36:12Speaker 5: To sign, because certain things kick in once you retire,
- 1:36:15Speaker 5: you know, you know, I.
- 1:36:16Speaker 6: Have a question, just what if Bill Belichick was interested
- 1:36:20Speaker 6: in the New York Giants job. He's you know, could
- 1:36:22Speaker 6: very well next week be announced as the head coach
- 1:36:25Speaker 6: candidate for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. If he
- 1:36:27Speaker 6: signs with the you know, the Giants in June or January,
- 1:36:31Speaker 6: does that take him out of the running or is
- 1:36:33Speaker 6: he still.
- 1:36:33Speaker 2: Allowed to help you know, because that happened, right, yeah?
- 1:36:36Speaker 15: Yeah?
- 1:36:37Speaker 2: Was it the Redskins.
- 1:36:40Speaker 1: I think Joe Gibbs was coaching as a member of
- 1:36:43Speaker 1: the Hall of Fame.
- 1:36:43Speaker 2: I think so.
- 1:36:44Speaker 4: It happens more in the NBA. It happens a lot
- 1:36:46Speaker 4: in the NBA that guys are already in the Basketball
- 1:36:49Speaker 4: Hall of Fame that are coaching. I think Greg Popovich
- 1:36:51Speaker 4: went in when he was still coaching.
- 1:36:53Speaker 13: But Brady's retirement letter to the NFL and NFLPA was
- 1:36:57Speaker 13: February first, twenty twenty three.
- 1:36:58Speaker 2: Okay, so he did officially tire the second time, right, Yes,
- 1:37:03Speaker 2: there's time.
- 1:37:03Speaker 1: It's personal. I'm sorry, that's a different thing.
- 1:37:07Speaker 5: Talwinder from California. You know Telwind Oh very well.
- 1:37:11Speaker 2: Yeah, I know you guys have talked about how this
- 1:37:13Speaker 2: is the first year of Mike Rabel's program and we
- 1:37:17Speaker 2: are too early to be making some noise in the playoffs.
- 1:37:19Speaker 2: I understand the easy schedule might be playing a part
- 1:37:22Speaker 2: in us being at eight and two, but this is
- 1:37:24Speaker 2: the NFL. Every week is tough. Just look at the
- 1:37:26Speaker 2: Dolphins beating the Bills this weekend, Panthers beating the Packers
- 1:37:30Speaker 2: in Green Bay last weekend. I think our team has
- 1:37:32Speaker 2: something special cooking. We will be going fourteen and three
- 1:37:37Speaker 2: and getting a bye, get ready to host the AFC
- 1:37:40Speaker 2: Championship game. I'll see you at Santa Clara in early February.
- 1:37:45Speaker 4: All right, I think we're going to be seen in
- 1:37:47Speaker 4: Santa Clara regardless, because the NFL Honors is in Santa
- 1:37:50Speaker 4: Clara as well, and I'm.
- 1:37:51Speaker 6: Sure the rest of the year assistent.
- 1:37:52Speaker 1: Yeah, and here is point.
- 1:37:54Speaker 4: I don't think any of us are sitting here saying
- 1:37:56Speaker 4: that they can't make noise in them, like the.
- 1:37:59Speaker 1: Whole impression has changed.
- 1:38:01Speaker 5: I think they're pretty good.
- 1:38:02Speaker 1: Based on ten weeks. If you still think of it
- 1:38:04Speaker 1: the way you did you know in March, then you're
- 1:38:08Speaker 1: not watching You're not watching not only the Patriots, but
- 1:38:10Speaker 1: you're not watching the other teams if not the Patriots.
- 1:38:13Speaker 1: Like what what which one of the teams I wont
- 1:38:18Speaker 1: teams in the football one of them? Last night?
- 1:38:21Speaker 2: Yeah, they have trouble.
- 1:38:24Speaker 4: I was like, Oh, I'm gonna sit down and wat
- 1:38:26Speaker 4: Thank you, Fred, thank you, thanks for triggering. I'm not
- 1:38:31Speaker 4: even gonna say what I was going to say. I
- 1:38:32Speaker 4: want to that, but just not paying attention to the league.
- 1:38:36Speaker 1: If you still think that, well, the Patriots are a
- 1:38:37Speaker 1: nice little story, but they can't make any noise. Of course,
- 1:38:40Speaker 1: they can make noise. There's no teams that are out
- 1:38:42Speaker 1: there playing great football. There were I would say a
- 1:38:46Speaker 1: half dozen or so good teams, maybe ten good teams.
- 1:38:50Speaker 1: But I don't look at anybody as saying like, there's
- 1:38:52Speaker 1: no way the Patriots can match up and play against
- 1:38:55Speaker 1: Kansas City or Seattle or you know, the Rams whoever.
- 1:38:59Speaker 1: I don't don't look at any of these teams that way.
- 1:39:01Speaker 4: There's a couple of things. I had my grievances. Let's
- 1:39:04Speaker 4: get them out now.
- 1:39:06Speaker 1: He just like, because because I need to get it.
- 1:39:13Speaker 4: It's part of this conversation though, because we are talking
- 1:39:16Speaker 4: about this team potentially making a run in the playoffs,
- 1:39:19Speaker 4: and it is all sunshines and rainbows right now. But
- 1:39:21Speaker 4: there are a few things that are starting and I'm
- 1:39:23Speaker 4: not talking about one off things. I think their run
- 1:39:26Speaker 4: defense this week was a little bit weaker than it
- 1:39:28Speaker 4: normally has been. Uh, that's something that I think is
- 1:39:32Speaker 4: percolating under the surface. They weren't going to completely shut
- 1:39:35Speaker 4: out every run game they face, but this was not.
- 1:39:38Speaker 4: Tampa Bay's rush offense was not great shakes. They didn't
- 1:39:41Speaker 4: have Bucky Irving their top running back, and this was basically,
- 1:39:46Speaker 4: statistically across the board, the Patriots worst run defense performance
- 1:39:49Speaker 4: of the year, whether it was yards per carry, e
- 1:39:51Speaker 4: P A success rate, explosive runs, you know, all the
- 1:39:55Speaker 4: way down the line. Uh, they face a Jets team
- 1:39:57Speaker 4: on Thursday night that doesn't have a lot going for it.
- 1:40:00Speaker 4: I get that, but they are one of the better,
- 1:40:03Speaker 4: more explosive run offenses in the league with a very
- 1:40:06Speaker 4: mobile quarterback.
- 1:40:08Speaker 1: So that was one.
- 1:40:09Speaker 4: The other thing, you know, we talked a little bit
- 1:40:11Speaker 4: off the air. They are every single week they bust
- 1:40:13Speaker 4: the coverage in the red zone and give up a
- 1:40:15Speaker 4: wide open play, So that's frustrating. You know, Harold Fannin
- 1:40:19Speaker 4: busted coverage, wide open touchdown. This week, a Mecha Buka
- 1:40:23Speaker 4: on the opening drive, busted coverage, wide open touchdown. So
- 1:40:26Speaker 4: the red zone defense continues to be a big picture concern.
- 1:40:30Speaker 4: And then also you know, in like the little things
- 1:40:33Speaker 4: you know that they're doing in terms of the coverage
- 1:40:35Speaker 4: is not going super hot either. And then the last one,
- 1:40:39Speaker 4: We've talked about it a couple times, but you know
- 1:40:41Speaker 4: that pick, like he just can't throw that interception like
- 1:40:44Speaker 4: that either needs to be in structure to Matt Collins,
- 1:40:47Speaker 4: which I think he had him if he just threw
- 1:40:49Speaker 4: it on time to Matt Collins in the back of
- 1:40:52Speaker 4: the end zone, or that needs to be in the
- 1:40:54Speaker 4: tenth row. And I know that he's going to sit
- 1:40:55Speaker 4: here and say, I'm not going to change my playing style.
- 1:40:58Speaker 4: I'm always going to do, you know, make that same
- 1:41:01Speaker 4: throw over and over again. I'll you know, I think
- 1:41:05Speaker 4: Mike Rabel might have something to say about that, because
- 1:41:08Speaker 4: that's that's a field goal at an eight point game,
- 1:41:11Speaker 4: you know, And and now you're you're really in the
- 1:41:13Speaker 4: driver's seat like that you can't throw that pick. But
- 1:41:16Speaker 4: the defense stuff I think is notable, especially you know,
- 1:41:20Speaker 4: as we start to segue to this Jets game a
- 1:41:23Speaker 4: little bit. Uh, they can run the ball. They are
- 1:41:26Speaker 4: a really good running team. And this was the first
- 1:41:29Speaker 4: time all year where I thought that there was some
- 1:41:32Speaker 4: cracks in the run defense a little bit. And I
- 1:41:34Speaker 4: think if the Bucks had had Bucky Irving then it
- 1:41:36Speaker 4: might have hurt them more, you know, the fact that
- 1:41:38Speaker 4: it was their backup running back.
- 1:41:40Speaker 2: So the Jets, I mean, we'll turn the page tomorrow.
- 1:41:44Speaker 2: But the Jets scored on special teams twice twice.
- 1:41:48Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, they had They're you know, third in the
- 1:41:55Speaker 4: league right now in explosive runs.
- 1:41:57Speaker 1: They are.
- 1:41:57Speaker 4: They're not necessarily the most consistent running team, but they
- 1:42:00Speaker 4: break big runs. It's kind of like the Patriots last week.
- 1:42:03Speaker 4: You know, they'll have these big runs. Bris Hall will
- 1:42:06Speaker 4: have big runs, and they can run the football, and
- 1:42:08Speaker 4: they run it unconventionally because they have the quarterback involved,
- 1:42:11Speaker 4: so there's a lot of readoptiones and things like that.
- 1:42:14Speaker 1: Evidently he hasn't decided when they know who, they know
- 1:42:18Speaker 1: who's going to play, but they won't they won't say
- 1:42:20Speaker 1: who's going to play. And if it's Tyrod Taylor. You
- 1:42:23Speaker 1: can forget that part of it. Yeah, it's not. He's
- 1:42:26Speaker 1: equally as bad a thrower as Justin Fields, but he's
- 1:42:29Speaker 1: not nearly the runner that Justin Fields is. So Taylor please.
- 1:42:33Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:42:33Speaker 6: Another another little thing on that though, is that the
- 1:42:35Speaker 6: Justice had their buy too, so, you know, the short
- 1:42:37Speaker 6: week it's just a little bit of an advantage for them.
- 1:42:39Speaker 6: Where the Patriots are on a tail in a ten
- 1:42:41Speaker 6: straight weeks. The Jets have had a week off, you know,
- 1:42:43Speaker 6: last week, so you know, they're they had a game
- 1:42:46Speaker 6: under their belt against Cleveland. They were able to win,
- 1:42:48Speaker 6: you know, just maybe a little bit of an event.
- 1:42:50Speaker 4: Physical right and as a physical offensive line, they run
- 1:42:54Speaker 4: the ball a lot. You know, they're run first team truly.
- 1:42:58Speaker 4: Uh And the Patriots on defense for the first time
- 1:43:01Speaker 4: all year, showed a little bit of Yeah.
- 1:43:03Speaker 2: I mean it's going to be tough to prepare. I
- 1:43:04Speaker 2: mean they haven't played the Jets yet. Rabel hasn't played
- 1:43:07Speaker 2: the Jets yet, so and you've got, you know, a
- 1:43:10Speaker 2: few days to get ready for this game.
- 1:43:12Speaker 5: It's it's a tough spot for the Pagos.
- 1:43:15Speaker 1: I mean, there's not a lot to get ready for,
- 1:43:16Speaker 1: but there are some necessarily objective. We're going to have
- 1:43:21Speaker 1: point favorites at home on a Thursday night, this late
- 1:43:25Speaker 1: in the season. I don't know they should not get in.
- 1:43:27Speaker 2: They should obviously, Okay, so you'll be lockin a lot.
- 1:43:30Speaker 1: Okay, but I should obviously wait.
- 1:43:31Speaker 4: But like, it would be one thing I think if
- 1:43:34Speaker 4: this was a conventional run offense, where like the quarterbacks
- 1:43:37Speaker 4: just under center and turning around and handing the ball
- 1:43:39Speaker 4: off to Breeze Hall, like those ones that, like you,
- 1:43:42Speaker 4: you don't really need to prepare for. It's just kind
- 1:43:43Speaker 4: of a mindset thing with their run game because of
- 1:43:47Speaker 4: justin fields, Like they run a lot of quotines to tackle,
- 1:43:50Speaker 4: it's a it's a lot of read option, it's a
- 1:43:52Speaker 4: lot of you know, different types of things.
- 1:43:54Speaker 1: There's a lot of design quarterback runs. So I'm not
- 1:43:57Speaker 1: willing to give the Jets fifteen plays of offense.
- 1:43:59Speaker 7: Oh do you think they got like an artificial bump
- 1:44:01Speaker 7: just rallying because they traded off their best players.
- 1:44:04Speaker 1: So I'm going to say this again. I said this
- 1:44:06Speaker 1: on our TV show. I thought this one of your spots.
- 1:44:08Speaker 5: I thought it the opposite.
- 1:44:09Speaker 1: I said this on the TV show, right, Yeah, remember
- 1:44:12Speaker 1: what I said? Yeah, the Cleveland Browns allowed fewer than
- 1:44:17Speaker 1: one hundred and seventy five yards of total offense and
- 1:44:20Speaker 1: didn't turn the ball over. Teams that do that are
- 1:44:24Speaker 1: two hundred and twenty five and oh until until Sunday.
- 1:44:28Speaker 1: Now they're two hundred and twenty five and one. Two
- 1:44:31Speaker 1: special teams punt and kick return for touchdowns. Now, if
- 1:44:34Speaker 1: the Patriots go out and do that, like I'll you
- 1:44:37Speaker 1: guys can attack me on next Tuesday or Thursday night
- 1:44:41Speaker 1: if things got If the Patriots turn the ball over
- 1:44:45Speaker 1: or give up special teams touchdowns and they find a
- 1:44:48Speaker 1: way to lose this game, I'm just telling you, if
- 1:44:51Speaker 1: they just played conventional football and justin Fields and Breese
- 1:44:54Speaker 1: Hall try to run the ball and throw the ball
- 1:44:56Speaker 1: for forty seven yards, the Jets have no chance to
- 1:44:59Speaker 1: win this game. I don't think they have a chance
- 1:45:01Speaker 1: to win the game.
- 1:45:02Speaker 4: I'm trying to tell you how they could make it competitive.
- 1:45:05Speaker 1: No, right, I don't even think they can do that.
- 1:45:07Speaker 1: I don't because all the good, the good players that
- 1:45:10Speaker 1: the Jets just got rid of on defense, I don't see.
- 1:45:15Speaker 1: You don't believe in the uing theory? God, no, did
- 1:45:18Speaker 1: you watch the game? Just asking the Jets don't believe
- 1:45:21Speaker 1: in the uing theory either. They were awful. I'm kind
- 1:45:23Speaker 1: of without they were awful in this game.
- 1:45:26Speaker 2: I just they can't.
- 1:45:28Speaker 5: The offense is terrible.
- 1:45:29Speaker 1: If they had a semblance of an offense, I could
- 1:45:32Speaker 1: make the argument Thursday night Division game those are generally
- 1:45:36Speaker 1: closer than you think. I think this is going to
- 1:45:37Speaker 1: be the seventh time Division teams are going to play
- 1:45:40Speaker 1: on Thursday Night in the previous six, you know, and
- 1:45:44Speaker 1: they're different divisions around the league. Obviously, I think four
- 1:45:47Speaker 1: of them will decided about like a field goal or less,
- 1:45:49Speaker 1: you know, or a touchdown or less. There are a
- 1:45:51Speaker 1: lot of games have been good, they tend they tend
- 1:45:53Speaker 1: to be close because there's a familiarity. But this one,
- 1:45:58Speaker 1: to me, no Quinn Williams, no Sauce Gardner, no Garrett Wilson.
- 1:46:03Speaker 1: All the Jets have is not playing in this game.
- 1:46:05Speaker 1: Do you think and the Jets have very little to
- 1:46:07Speaker 1: begin with?
- 1:46:07Speaker 2: Do you think a lot of these games are also
- 1:46:09Speaker 2: close because of the lack of preparation, that and the fatigue.
- 1:46:13Speaker 1: I think, you know, but like maybe a slight thing
- 1:46:17Speaker 1: for the Jets there. They were at home this week
- 1:46:20Speaker 1: and the Patriots were on the road. So but I
- 1:46:22Speaker 1: think the home team has an enormous advantage. You know, tomorrow,
- 1:46:26Speaker 1: when we're talking about turning the page to the Jets,
- 1:46:28Speaker 1: the Jets would be traveling here, you know. And I
- 1:46:30Speaker 1: know it's only a half out, forty five minute flight
- 1:46:33Speaker 1: or whatever it is, but it's not a forty five
- 1:46:35Speaker 1: minute process. I can tell you that. I just think
- 1:46:38Speaker 1: it's I think it's really hard. We'll play. They can
- 1:46:40Speaker 1: get here late in the year. That's for the right
- 1:46:43Speaker 1: team to win on Thursday, especially when you stink. I mean,
- 1:46:46Speaker 1: let's face it, they're two and Steve.
- 1:46:47Speaker 2: And I did.
- 1:46:48Speaker 6: One thing that just stan out to me is the Jets,
- 1:46:49Speaker 6: of other than the Cowboys and the Bills, they got
- 1:46:51Speaker 6: blown out in those two games. Every other one it's
- 1:46:53Speaker 6: been like a one score game. I mean, they haven't
- 1:46:55Speaker 6: gotten killed. Other than those two games, they've been good.
- 1:46:57Speaker 8: You know.
- 1:46:57Speaker 1: I think it's a four point.
- 1:46:59Speaker 4: Their defense before they traded these two guys was terrible
- 1:47:02Speaker 4: and it's still terrible. So I think that that's the
- 1:47:04Speaker 4: one thing that you know, I do understand that what
- 1:47:10Speaker 4: Alex was kind of getting at of like there's always
- 1:47:14Speaker 4: a little bit of that. It's kind of like when
- 1:47:15Speaker 4: we talk about the interim coach bump, where like I called.
- 1:47:18Speaker 1: The interim coach bump adjacent. Yeah, that's right, it's like it's.
- 1:47:21Speaker 4: Very similar where like okay, like you know, the role
- 1:47:24Speaker 4: players get to play a little bit more and maybe
- 1:47:27Speaker 4: the vibes are a little bit better because maybe the
- 1:47:29Speaker 4: guy they traded was a turn in the punch bowl
- 1:47:31Speaker 4: and now like, okay, things are just a little bit
- 1:47:33Speaker 4: better around the facility because those guys are gone. And
- 1:47:36Speaker 4: I'm not saying that that's the case with the Jets,
- 1:47:38Speaker 4: but that does happen.
- 1:47:39Speaker 2: Yeah, I know, I don't.
- 1:47:41Speaker 1: I'm going to defend you a little bit here because
- 1:47:43Speaker 1: the defense. Evan's right, the numbers are probably not great.
- 1:47:46Speaker 1: They got off to a horrific start defensively, but the
- 1:47:49Speaker 1: last month they gave up thirteen, thirteen, and twenty and
- 1:47:54Speaker 1: three out of those four games, now, the fourth one
- 1:47:56Speaker 1: was the Bengals. They got up thirty eight. They lost that.
- 1:47:58Speaker 1: They won the game thirty nine to thirty eight. But
- 1:48:00Speaker 1: the Bengals are doing that to everybody, but thirteen to
- 1:48:03Speaker 1: the Broncos, thirteen to the Panthers, twenty to the Browns.
- 1:48:07Speaker 1: So the defense has played better after a terribly in
- 1:48:10Speaker 1: thirty four to thirty, twenty nine, twenty seven, thirty seven,
- 1:48:13Speaker 1: the first five weeks in the season, they have some players.
- 1:48:17Speaker 1: You know, Will McDonald had four sacks of the day
- 1:48:19Speaker 1: again in practice and her. If you let Will McDonald,
- 1:48:23Speaker 1: you know, get four sacks and maybe cause a strip
- 1:48:26Speaker 1: sack on two of them, that gives the the Jets points,
- 1:48:28Speaker 1: you can lose. Like obviously it's an NFL game, you
- 1:48:31Speaker 1: can lose it. I'm just that's what it's gonna take.
- 1:48:33Speaker 1: The four ways, that's what it's gonna take to lose.
- 1:48:37Speaker 1: He's a fire.
- 1:48:38Speaker 4: I hope that he plays because we're already missing out
- 1:48:40Speaker 4: on Gon's over as Garrett Wilson, which is bummers. And
- 1:48:43Speaker 4: now I'm hoping that Will McDonald plays because i'd like
- 1:48:45Speaker 4: to see Will Campbell against McDonald. I think that's the
- 1:48:47Speaker 4: type of guy that Will Campbell's theoretically could have problems
- 1:48:51Speaker 4: with speed rusher with some length and some juice off
- 1:48:55Speaker 4: the edge. So I'd like to see how Will Campbell
- 1:48:57Speaker 4: does it. Because McDonald's a really good player. He's having
- 1:48:59Speaker 4: a really good year here and it's sort of coming
- 1:49:01Speaker 4: into his on he had a four sacks seven pressures
- 1:49:04Speaker 4: lines up kind of everywhere that put them up over
- 1:49:06Speaker 4: the guards and have him rushed there too. So he's
- 1:49:09Speaker 4: he's a fun player to watch.
- 1:49:11Speaker 15: Uh.
- 1:49:12Speaker 2: We were talking about interim coaches, you know, with Tennessee
- 1:49:16Speaker 2: firing their coach just before they played the Patriots. I
- 1:49:18Speaker 2: heard that Dabile get fired because we're on their schedule
- 1:49:21Speaker 2: coming up.
- 1:49:22Speaker 1: I heard the same thing. So we're a coach killer
- 1:49:24Speaker 1: that game is getting. That's interesting.
- 1:49:26Speaker 5: We're a coach killer.
- 1:49:27Speaker 6: I don't status with Dart's going to be, but now
- 1:49:29Speaker 6: he's out, Like.
- 1:49:30Speaker 4: I wonder what the flex you can flex Monday night now?
- 1:49:34Speaker 10: So I do?
- 1:49:34Speaker 1: I mean Drake May and Monday Night. Maybe they can't
- 1:49:37Speaker 1: imagine they'd want to get Boston, New York off of
- 1:49:39Speaker 1: Monday Night.
- 1:49:40Speaker 4: It's like that Giants team is a mess, but they
- 1:49:43Speaker 4: play entertaining games.
- 1:49:45Speaker 5: They do, but Scataboo's not playing.
- 1:49:47Speaker 1: But they lose a ten point lead in the last
- 1:49:49Speaker 1: five minutes of every game. I know, Like, that's why
- 1:49:52Speaker 1: you lost. It's not because they're it's not necessarily because
- 1:49:55Speaker 1: they're two and eight. It's how they got to to
- 1:49:57Speaker 1: They've They've done that like four times.
- 1:49:59Speaker 5: I know, let's get back to the phones, Eric's and Albuquerque.
- 1:50:03Speaker 2: What's up?
- 1:50:04Speaker 12: Eric, Tay, Guys, how are you doing? Thanks for taking
- 1:50:06Speaker 12: my call. Hey, I'm I'm usually at work, so I
- 1:50:10Speaker 12: can never call when you're live. But my question is
- 1:50:13Speaker 12: about the defense. We haven't heard a whole lot of
- 1:50:15Speaker 12: talk about it this year in relation to how great
- 1:50:18Speaker 12: the offense is doing. And I know we've got an
- 1:50:21Speaker 12: interim decord Zach Core.
- 1:50:25Speaker 2: Yes, Core, that Core?
- 1:50:27Speaker 5: Yeah, you got it right, Yeah, that Core.
- 1:50:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:50:31Speaker 12: So I don't hear many people talking about him, and
- 1:50:33Speaker 12: I know I'm wondering, is it is it the defense
- 1:50:36Speaker 12: being like coached by committee? Is Rabel kind of doing
- 1:50:39Speaker 12: it or is Zach doing it? Should we be talking
- 1:50:41Speaker 12: about Zach Core a little bit?
- 1:50:42Speaker 2: Yeah, Zach I.
- 1:50:44Speaker 4: Wrote about him earlier this year, if you want to
- 1:50:46Speaker 4: check that out, and just kind of him taking over
- 1:50:48Speaker 4: the play calling and all that kind of stuff. He's
- 1:50:51Speaker 4: he's the de facto defensive coordinator. He's running the meetings,
- 1:50:55Speaker 4: he's calling the plays. You know, I'm sure like everything
- 1:50:59Speaker 4: else football team, you know, Vrabel has a huge say
- 1:51:02Speaker 4: in the game plan and sort of the high level,
- 1:51:05Speaker 4: you know, big picture stuff in terms of how they
- 1:51:07Speaker 4: go into games.
- 1:51:08Speaker 1: And things like that.
- 1:51:09Speaker 4: But it's Core's play sheet, and I think he's done
- 1:51:12Speaker 4: a pretty good job. I mean, there are things that
- 1:51:14Speaker 4: I don't love about how they do, uh you know,
- 1:51:16Speaker 4: play early down defense in terms of the coverage, but
- 1:51:19Speaker 4: it works like they're keeping the scoring down, they're they're
- 1:51:23Speaker 4: keeping the big plays down. Uh, they're good on third down,
- 1:51:26Speaker 4: like I said earlier.
- 1:51:26Speaker 1: So yeah, I mean the best thing I could say
- 1:51:29Speaker 1: is that they've been absolutely outstanding when they have to be,
- 1:51:33Speaker 1: and that's every every week, every game when the game's
- 1:51:36Speaker 1: on the line, they've dominated.
- 1:51:39Speaker 4: Yeah, they come out and sorry, go ahead, Eric, what
- 1:51:42Speaker 4: did you say?
- 1:51:43Speaker 12: Oh just say Yeah, that blitz end the game on
- 1:51:45Speaker 12: Sunday was just perfectly right, beauty.
- 1:51:49Speaker 5: Yeah, thanks Eric.
- 1:51:50Speaker 6: I think it stands out to me is the personality
- 1:51:52Speaker 6: that vrabel is injected in this team, and like, you know,
- 1:51:54Speaker 6: watching Corey Dirten play with this reckless abandon until through
- 1:51:58Speaker 6: the whistle. That's what they keep saying, play longer than
- 1:52:00Speaker 6: the guy with the ball, and you just see that
- 1:52:02Speaker 6: playing style and you look at like the broken tackles,
- 1:52:05Speaker 6: which I think have gotten better, but even when they're high,
- 1:52:07Speaker 6: like they don't give up a lot of yards because
- 1:52:09Speaker 6: everyone is running to the ball, so if one guy
- 1:52:11Speaker 6: into the tackle, someone else is going to be right there.
- 1:52:13Speaker 1: You see that over and over again. The Baker flip
- 1:52:16Speaker 1: at the end of the game.
- 1:52:17Speaker 6: Yeah, right on the spot, like realizing that that was crazy.
- 1:52:20Speaker 6: That was one you got to see in the end
- 1:52:22Speaker 6: zone footage to see. Yeah, but Baker Mayfield like falling backwards,
- 1:52:25Speaker 6: you know it was.
- 1:52:26Speaker 1: That had ever been like let's say Hawkins wasn't there
- 1:52:28Speaker 1: and why he got the first down, I think that
- 1:52:31Speaker 1: would have been World War three for Patriots fans because
- 1:52:33Speaker 1: I don't know how that's not a sack not in
- 1:52:36Speaker 1: the ground.
- 1:52:36Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean even watching it though, it was I
- 1:52:38Speaker 6: mean I was thinking, like when would I blow the
- 1:52:40Speaker 6: whistle right here?
- 1:52:41Speaker 1: And there really wasn't a moment like you know, it
- 1:52:43Speaker 1: was moving, I would have blown the whistle.
- 1:52:46Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean he was moving though, like you could
- 1:52:48Speaker 4: see it like on the film that he's still got
- 1:52:50Speaker 4: momentum like he has four progress hadn't been stopped yet.
- 1:52:53Speaker 4: But I uh, yeah, I think what you know, what
- 1:52:56Speaker 4: I see from Core I give him credit is like
- 1:52:59Speaker 4: he kind of it knows when to send the house,
- 1:53:02Speaker 4: he knows when to pressure. He knows when to get
- 1:53:04Speaker 4: intomand coverage, and they're kind of trusting their philosophy of
- 1:53:09Speaker 4: we're gonna play some zone. We're probably gonna give up
- 1:53:11Speaker 4: some plays, but we're not gonna give up a ton
- 1:53:13Speaker 4: of points. And then when we really need to it's
- 1:53:16Speaker 4: the fourth quarter, it's third or fourth down, we're gonna
- 1:53:18Speaker 4: go man to man, we're gonna get Gonzo on their
- 1:53:20Speaker 4: best receiver, and we're gonna get off the field. And
- 1:53:23Speaker 4: it's so far it's worked, like we'll see. You know,
- 1:53:26Speaker 4: I'm a little concerned about the early down pass defense
- 1:53:28Speaker 4: and like they face a really good quarterback in the
- 1:53:30Speaker 4: playoffs that that can tear that apart. And it's a
- 1:53:33Speaker 4: little bit concerning that you're never gonna get the third down.
- 1:53:36Speaker 4: But they've been really good.
- 1:53:38Speaker 5: Coming down the home stretch. Eldred's in North Carolina.
- 1:53:41Speaker 2: What's up?
- 1:53:42Speaker 5: Eldred?
- 1:53:48Speaker 2: Okay, Hey, yes, sir.
- 1:53:52Speaker 15: You're killing me, but I'm going to agree with you
- 1:53:54Speaker 15: a little bit.
- 1:53:56Speaker 4: Question.
- 1:53:57Speaker 15: Question is a good, solid game yet and everybody got
- 1:54:04Speaker 15: them going to the super Bowl already, and I'm like,
- 1:54:06Speaker 15: just can't put it down just a little bit more.
- 1:54:08Speaker 15: But do you ever think we get we get one
- 1:54:11Speaker 15: good one, good solid game, and when you think it
- 1:54:14Speaker 15: might be I noticed is like a ball. But I'm
- 1:54:18Speaker 15: just acting.
- 1:54:18Speaker 1: Thursday night, and y'all have a good one.
- 1:54:21Speaker 5: Thanks, Thanks, Eldred.
- 1:54:22Speaker 1: I want to know what.
- 1:54:22Speaker 5: I don't know what you're killing him about?
- 1:54:25Speaker 7: Yeah, he said he it's killing him that he kind
- 1:54:28Speaker 7: of agrees with you.
- 1:54:28Speaker 1: Oh okay, why about what? Still don't know what he
- 1:54:33Speaker 1: doesn't like?
- 1:54:34Speaker 5: So when are they gonna have a complete game Thursday night?
- 1:54:37Speaker 2: Just right?
- 1:54:38Speaker 1: What is a couple of years? I think they've played
- 1:54:41Speaker 1: a lot of really sound games. I guess this is
- 1:54:44Speaker 1: another one that I get made fun of on the
- 1:54:45Speaker 1: post game show.
- 1:54:46Speaker 5: For being it's not perfect, Paul.
- 1:54:48Speaker 1: I think it's been really really good, and I don't
- 1:54:51Speaker 1: like you go to Tampa. Tampa's coming off the buy
- 1:54:55Speaker 1: and you didn't soundly dominate him for sixty minutes, So
- 1:54:58Speaker 1: I guess you didn't play your best football. I think
- 1:55:01Speaker 1: they played about as well as they can play. Now,
- 1:55:03Speaker 1: did they make mistakes? Of course they did. Evan you know,
- 1:55:06Speaker 1: chartered some specifics, but I just don't know what we're expecting.
- 1:55:11Speaker 5: Dan's and Daytona. What's up?
- 1:55:13Speaker 7: Dan? Hey?
- 1:55:15Speaker 2: How's it going?
- 1:55:16Speaker 1: Can you guys hear me.
- 1:55:18Speaker 15: How's it going to just calling back again?
- 1:55:20Speaker 3: Brad un Below disappointed you weren't.
- 1:55:22Speaker 2: There on Sunday, but uh, I just had to throw
- 1:55:24Speaker 2: that in there. And oh you mean at the party,
- 1:55:27Speaker 2: uh Saturday night? Well, well I had reservations. That burns.
- 1:55:32Speaker 2: He's talking about the postgame show postgame show.
- 1:55:37Speaker 15: Yeah, the post game show. You know I usually miss you.
- 1:55:40Speaker 12: You know your your banter with with Paul and yeah,
- 1:55:45Speaker 12: but I'll be there.
- 1:55:46Speaker 2: I'll be there this Thursday, and I'll have the advantage
- 1:55:50Speaker 2: because Paul doesn't like late nights.
- 1:55:52Speaker 1: You can have the five energy.
- 1:55:56Speaker 2: I wanted to get your guys' take on two different things.
- 1:55:59Speaker 15: I know you guys seen a brand a bullfire.
- 1:56:02Speaker 12: Do you think that the Patriots are going to add
- 1:56:04Speaker 12: him possibly.
- 1:56:05Speaker 2: This year but no, absolutely not.
- 1:56:08Speaker 14: Or you think he's going to try and take that
- 1:56:10Speaker 14: job doun of maybe Miami or go back to Buffalo.
- 1:56:13Speaker 2: I don't know what he's gonna do, but I don't
- 1:56:16Speaker 2: think he's gonna be working until next year.
- 1:56:18Speaker 5: Probably you'll probably take the rest of the year off.
- 1:56:20Speaker 4: It's always tough to what next dand team like the
- 1:56:23Speaker 4: Patriots or or Buffalo, like let's have somebody like over
- 1:56:27Speaker 4: the offensive coordinator shoulder like and like, you know, I
- 1:56:31Speaker 4: don't think it would really impact McDaniels as much, but
- 1:56:34Speaker 4: like Joe Brady's a young, hit like coordinator that like,
- 1:56:37Speaker 4: now this guy that supposedly fixed Josh Allen and like
- 1:56:40Speaker 4: made him into an MVP is just it lurking in
- 1:56:42Speaker 4: the building. Sean mcdermoy yesterday said there was no chance
- 1:56:46Speaker 4: they were considering.
- 1:56:47Speaker 6: That a little when they brought Josh back in eleven.
- 1:56:49Speaker 6: You know, but I think Leo was already leaving, right,
- 1:56:51Speaker 6: so you knew had to think.
- 1:56:52Speaker 2: That had a big part of that couple even emails
- 1:56:55Speaker 2: to wrap up the show with Jeremiah says he he
- 1:57:00Speaker 2: agrees with Evan. I get exactly what he's talking about.
- 1:57:02Speaker 2: With the national media. Just last week with the Falcons game,
- 1:57:06Speaker 2: I watched Shannon Sharp talk about it and say that
- 1:57:08Speaker 2: Drake London essentially gave Gonzo the work. I can tell
- 1:57:12Speaker 2: he just looked at the stats and didn't see the
- 1:57:14Speaker 2: actual matchup, and now all his fan base is going
- 1:57:16Speaker 2: to take it as fact that Gonzo got three touchdowns
- 1:57:19Speaker 2: put on his head by London and then Spi and
- 1:57:24Speaker 2: Fresno says has Evan never underestimated a player in the
- 1:57:28Speaker 2: draft and then later came around to recognize that the
- 1:57:30Speaker 2: player is really good. His claim of Drake in response
- 1:57:34Speaker 2: to the national accolades is silly Hubris. We should have
- 1:57:37Speaker 2: Evan wear a Drake jersey and unleash mob on him.
- 1:57:40Speaker 4: That's not what I'm saying is that's another pet peeve
- 1:57:44Speaker 4: of mine, Like, don't don't twist my words. What I
- 1:57:47Speaker 4: said was is I would like them to like have
- 1:57:51Speaker 4: some mia kolpa. When I'm wrong about a player in
- 1:57:53Speaker 4: the draft, which happens all the time, I will say, yeah,
- 1:57:56Speaker 4: I was dead wrong about that guy.
- 1:57:58Speaker 1: These people now, they're just acting like they were on
- 1:58:00Speaker 1: the bandwick don't acknowledge it. Yeah, And I'm not for that.
- 1:58:03Speaker 2: Well, is there a chance today the time that they
- 1:58:05Speaker 2: are trying.
- 1:58:06Speaker 1: To hear that a million times? Like that's the job.
- 1:58:10Speaker 2: Like I admit that I was wrong, but I still
- 1:58:14Speaker 2: want to thank him, and I believe we owe him thanks.
- 1:58:19Speaker 1: I have no rebuttal of that. That's true.
- 1:58:22Speaker 2: All right, that's going to be it for this edition
- 1:58:24Speaker 2: of Patriots Unfiltered. We'll be back tomorrow Wednesday. It's going
- 1:58:29Speaker 2: to be like a Thursday because we're going to do
- 1:58:31Speaker 2: our picks. We won't be here on Thursday, but we
- 1:58:34Speaker 2: will have the pregame show on Thursday. So it's a
- 1:58:37Speaker 2: short week, big turnaround, exciting. We got the Jets rivalries.
- 1:58:42Speaker 2: Uh yeah, I might have something to wear tomorrow storm Blue,
- 1:58:46Speaker 2: all right, tomorrow twenty two to ten.
- 1:58:51Speaker 6: Hey, this is Duce. Thanks for tuning into the show.
