- 0:00Speaker 1: Rich Man poor Man from Adam Carolla. It's one more
- 0:02Speaker 1: thing Armstrong Andy, get to that in just a second.
- 0:09Speaker 1: Now we are recording this podcast Wednesday morning, the tenth
- 0:15Speaker 1: of June. Donald Trump just said, well, today's Wednesday, Wednesday
- 0:21Speaker 1: in Iran. Donald Trump just said we are going to
- 0:25Speaker 1: be hitting a ran very hard on Wednesday. Why would
- 0:28Speaker 1: he say that? Why would he announce that before it happens?
- 0:32Speaker 2: Final last ditch, come to the table play.
- 0:34Speaker 1: I don't know. Okay, well, we'll have that on the
- 0:38Speaker 1: next Armstrong in Getty show. I do not understand. So
- 0:41Speaker 1: I came across this the other day. I don't think
- 0:44Speaker 1: i'd ever heard it before. So Adam Corolla comedian now podcaster,
- 0:49Speaker 1: and he's famous for being a conservative, so he's a
- 0:51Speaker 1: funny guy conservative. It's interesting that him and Jimmy Kimmel
- 0:53Speaker 1: were such buddies back in the day. They were young.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Probably didn't talk politics much back then, and he's still friends.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Jerry Seinfeld was on Corolla's podcast and said, your rich
- 1:05Speaker 1: Man poor Man routine is one of the top five
- 1:09Speaker 1: comedy bits of all time, and Adam Krohl said, wow,
- 1:13Speaker 1: thanks for the compliment. He said, no, seriously, he said,
- 1:15Speaker 1: I quote that to people more than any other comedy
- 1:18Speaker 1: bit I've ever heard from Jerry Seinfeld, and I was
- 1:21Speaker 1: unfamiliar with it and kind of grabbed clips of it.
- 1:24Speaker 1: I'm just going to read you some of it. The
- 1:25Speaker 1: concept is just pretty funny. I kind of feel bad about,
- 1:29Speaker 1: you know, you hearing this material and kind of ruining
- 1:31Speaker 1: it if you ever go see Adam Carolla. On the
- 1:33Speaker 1: other hand, Adam Corolla urinated while we were interviewing him.
- 1:37Speaker 2: So that's a good point.
- 1:41Speaker 1: We had him on the air. He takes a weird break.
- 1:43Speaker 1: There's a weird sound. We find out later. He talks
- 1:45Speaker 1: out on his podcast and I was on with the
- 1:47Speaker 1: two radio guys. I had to take a link, so
- 1:49Speaker 1: I just took a link while.
- 1:50Speaker 2: Time sank, and I got some on my shirt. As
- 1:54Speaker 2: I recall, that's how much he cares about us. So
- 1:57Speaker 2: I will tell you his comedy routine. But it's kind
- 1:59Speaker 2: of a any concept. It's the idea that the very
- 2:02Speaker 2: rich and the very poor share a lot of things.
- 2:05Speaker 2: It's those of us in between that don't. Some examples
- 2:10Speaker 2: wearing pajamas all day, the idle rich and the unemployed
- 2:13Speaker 2: poor both never change out of them. Working class middle
- 2:16Speaker 2: has to get up and put on clothes and go
- 2:18Speaker 2: to work, always having your dog with you everywhere, which
- 2:23Speaker 2: is pretty funny. No kleenex. Rich man has a monogrammed handkerchief,
- 2:28Speaker 2: poor man uses his shirt sleeve. The rest of us
- 2:31Speaker 2: use cleanexes. I thought this was really good. The very
- 2:35Speaker 2: rich or the very poor do this eating unusual animals.
- 2:39Speaker 2: Either it's a delicacy at five star restaurants or something
- 2:42Speaker 2: you shot yourself or found on a road. Wow, a
- 2:48Speaker 2: car that's rarely or never driven. Oh that's a good one.
- 2:53Speaker 1: That's so good. Yeah, you got the car, you just
- 2:56Speaker 1: have never got around to get it fixed because you're broke,
- 2:59Speaker 1: or you I got the sixty two Porsch that you'd.
- 3:02Speaker 2: Drive once a year, So nineteen forty five blue toa maker.
- 3:05Speaker 2: It's got eleven original miles on it.
- 3:09Speaker 1: Not knowing how much things cost, the rich don't care.
- 3:11Speaker 1: The poor just don't pay any attention or buying a
- 3:15Speaker 1: lot of stuff. So I thought this was a really
- 3:22Speaker 1: good one. Are affected by minimum wage changes, that's true.
- 3:27Speaker 1: The change of the minimum wage has had no effect
- 3:29Speaker 1: on me since I was eighteen years old, other than
- 3:32Speaker 1: burger prices. Yeah, but if you're super rich, you have
- 3:36Speaker 1: the company you run and employees and all that. But
- 3:39Speaker 1: and if you're poor and obviously making minimum wage. The
- 3:43Speaker 1: super rich and the super Bowl both drive a brand
- 3:46Speaker 1: of car that no longer exists, whether it's a classic
- 3:50Speaker 1: Dusenberg like Jay Leno or a seventy four AMC Matador.
- 3:57Speaker 2: Wow. Adam is one of the most amazing common nations
- 4:00Speaker 2: of intelligent but not really like quote unquote educated that
- 4:05Speaker 2: I've ever run into.
- 4:06Speaker 1: Is absolutely brilliant. Neither the super rich into the super
- 4:10Speaker 1: poor have ever eaten that out back steakhouse. I have,
- 4:15Speaker 1: but they haven't spend Thanksgiving it a soup kitchen. That's
- 4:20Speaker 1: pretty good. Rich like Floyd Mayweather or whoever helping out
- 4:23Speaker 1: at a food kitchen, you know, and they show you
- 4:25Speaker 1: on the Thanksgiving Day parade or something, or obviously the
- 4:27Speaker 1: poor getting a meal on a first name basis with
- 4:31Speaker 1: a judge. You're either rich and live in the same neighborhood,
- 4:35Speaker 1: or you're poor and you're going to court all the time. Wow,
- 4:39Speaker 1: that is so good, I know. That's why Seinfeld calls
- 4:42Speaker 1: this one of his top five comedy routines He's ever heard.
- 4:45Speaker 1: Use a ladder on wheels, either your mahogany one and
- 4:49Speaker 1: your big library at your estate, or are you working
- 4:51Speaker 1: at home depot helping customers getting stuff down off showf Wow.
- 4:57Speaker 1: Used to live on a plantation. That's a pretty obvious one.
- 5:00Speaker 1: This is my favorite one of all. I'll end with
- 5:02Speaker 1: this one. Know the going rate for copper? Oh, that
- 5:10Speaker 1: is so good trading shares and copper.
- 5:13Speaker 2: Or yanking it out of bacon homes and street lamps.
- 5:19Speaker 1: Ah, that is funny.
- 5:21Speaker 2: Well done, Adam.
- 5:22Speaker 1: Sorry Adam for stealing your comedy routine for which you
- 5:24Speaker 1: made no money here. On the other hand, you urinated
- 5:27Speaker 1: while you were while we were on the air.
- 5:28Speaker 2: With this.
- 5:28Speaker 1: You couldn't even hold your urine. He had the pee.
- 5:32Speaker 1: What do you want out of them? It's not that
- 5:34Speaker 1: old old my pee for us either, he wouldn't.
- 5:37Speaker 2: Yes, Michael, something that rich people and poor people have
- 5:40Speaker 2: in common, don't you think?
- 5:42Speaker 1: Just go ahead and whiz by one of Adam's many
- 5:48Speaker 1: entertaining books.
- 5:48Speaker 2: There you go. Now we're even.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Well. I guess that's it.
