Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Big Night last night on Channel ten. Just a bit excited.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Yeah, Master well and that was just that was Andy
- 0:16Speaker 2: the Master Cheffer, big silver plater has been one and
- 0:21Speaker 2: held aloft again. We have a winner and it is Vinny.
- 0:25Speaker 2: He's with a snaw. Good morning, good morning, congratulations. I
- 0:31Speaker 2: watched all years. I always do. I love Master Chef.
- 0:34Speaker 2: It's it gets me inspired to cook. I probably won't
- 0:37Speaker 2: cook again until next year now. But anyway, the finale,
- 0:41Speaker 2: Nelly went off the rails when You're duck was over cooked,
- 0:45Speaker 2: Don John John at that moment, pre pivot and this
- 0:48Speaker 2: is what makes you guys incredibles, the way you can pivot.
- 0:51Speaker 2: Did you think, oh my god, it's gone, the trophy's gone.
- 0:55Speaker 3: Yeah. When I took out of the ovenue room, taking
- 0:58Speaker 3: it out and like looking at our please please please Yeah,
- 1:02Speaker 3: but then cutting into it, I was like, oh my god.
- 1:05Speaker 3: But you know the thing, the thing is you just
- 1:08Speaker 3: gotta you just gotta keep going right like, and that's
- 1:10Speaker 3: what I just took a minute, took a breather, and
- 1:13Speaker 3: then just bang up.
- 1:14Speaker 1: We go because you've got so many things on the go.
- 1:16Speaker 1: I mean, it's just a moment's in attention. Can can
- 1:19Speaker 1: derail the whole thing.
- 1:21Speaker 3: One hundred and like that duck was dry aged, right,
- 1:24Speaker 3: so it had like not a lot of moisture, which
- 1:26Speaker 3: I had never cooked dry age duck. So it's much
- 1:28Speaker 3: quicker than I thought, which you know, is what happened.
- 1:33Speaker 3: But ultimately I feel like it was better the other way,
- 1:36Speaker 3: which was.
- 1:39Speaker 2: Going you know, going through the good old Herbachie's a
- 1:42Speaker 2: good device. You can't feed it now. Cherish chir Finden
- 1:47Speaker 2: is one tough cookie, and her pressure test featured more
- 1:51Speaker 2: than this was what decided the whole thing. Her pressure
- 1:53Speaker 2: test featured more than one hundred and fifty steps over
- 1:56Speaker 2: five hours. Was that the toughest challenge your face stall
- 2:00Speaker 2: Season AH.
- 2:02Speaker 3: One doubt challenge was really insane. Although it was, you know,
- 2:09Speaker 3: over five hours, for me, it kind of felt like
- 2:11Speaker 3: forty five minutes. It's a bit of a blur because
- 2:16Speaker 3: you know, I feel like at that stage of the
- 2:18Speaker 3: competition as well, you just kind of like dialed right,
- 2:20Speaker 3: you just like locked in, and and I feel like
- 2:23Speaker 3: I just had to give it my old and I
- 2:25Speaker 3: knew that that was the last time that I could
- 2:26Speaker 3: do it, and it was a time to make it count.
- 2:29Speaker 3: So it did kind of fly by. But at the
- 2:31Speaker 3: same time, I was like, oh my god, this is
- 2:33Speaker 3: so long.
- 2:34Speaker 2: It is it's a long time. The only thing straight
- 2:38Speaker 2: is sleep. But I just can't imagine just there.
- 2:42Speaker 3: Was a lot because like even during the cook you
- 2:45Speaker 3: don't really there was nothing that remotely resembled what we
- 2:50Speaker 3: were making until the last couple of weeks.
- 2:52Speaker 1: Right, Okay, it was one hundred and fifty steps, I
- 2:55Speaker 1: mean that's that's It was a lot.
- 2:58Speaker 2: Yes, it was of a well you're just about.
- 3:02Speaker 3: Recreating that anytime soon you're at.
- 3:05Speaker 2: A thousand dollars per step and then some two hundred
- 3:07Speaker 2: and fifty thousand dollars have you what? What's the plan?
- 3:12Speaker 2: Is it going to go towards? You know what? What
- 3:14Speaker 2: you hope to sort of segue this all into you
- 3:17Speaker 2: pots and pans?
- 3:19Speaker 3: Nice? Yes, yeah, yeah, I feel like, you know, I'm
- 3:23Speaker 3: very grateful when I feel like it's just a life
- 3:26Speaker 3: changing amount of money that I never thought i'd ever
- 3:28Speaker 3: get as long as some which is awesome. So I
- 3:31Speaker 3: feel like I really want to put it to good use.
- 3:34Speaker 3: At the moment, it's just kind of like I'm just
- 3:35Speaker 3: like looking at it. Take a moment, but you know,
- 3:40Speaker 3: i'd love to. I'd love to move in with my
- 3:41Speaker 3: girlfriend somewhere in the place. It should be a big start.
- 3:46Speaker 3: But and then I feel like I really want to
- 3:48Speaker 3: get into the food thing as much as I can
- 3:50Speaker 3: and really just take every single opportunity that I can
- 3:54Speaker 3: get and and just learn and do what I can
- 3:57Speaker 3: before I you know, jump and do something on my own.
- 4:01Speaker 3: But at the same time, I wouldn't mind doing like
- 4:03Speaker 3: some pop ups, maybe doing some paninies and things like
- 4:05Speaker 3: that too.
- 4:05Speaker 2: So it's like a good idea.
- 4:07Speaker 1: Yeah, well this is this is quite the thing to
- 4:09Speaker 1: add to your resume. So the career is off to it. Yeah,
- 4:12Speaker 1: it's going to be off to a pretty good start.
- 4:13Speaker 2: You make some good contacts as you go along, and
- 4:16Speaker 2: that's the other great thing about master Chef. Yeah.
- 4:19Speaker 1: Yeah, So now that you are Australia's newest master chef
- 4:24Speaker 1: pressures on everybody wants Everybody wants a dish. What's the
- 4:28Speaker 1: dish they want the most from you?
- 4:31Speaker 3: Ah? I know it's kind of surreal skill, but I
- 4:34Speaker 3: feel like, you know, everyone's been asking about this paninie shop,
- 4:38Speaker 3: When am I going to do it? When am I
- 4:39Speaker 3: going to do it? It's kind of it's very very awesome.
- 4:43Speaker 3: It's very cool, but it's also kind of daunting because
- 4:45Speaker 3: it's like, what if it's not that good? And then,
- 4:48Speaker 3: you know, so there's the pressure of that. But I
- 4:49Speaker 3: feel like, you know, with everything I do, I try
- 4:52Speaker 3: and make it the best that I possibly can. So
- 4:54Speaker 3: I feel like that's what that's what's kind of next
- 4:57Speaker 3: on the table.
- 4:57Speaker 2: And you know, the other thing is, of course, no
- 4:59Speaker 2: one's we're going to invite you for dinner again now,
- 5:01Speaker 2: because the who's gonna want to cook for a master
- 5:06Speaker 2: chef Chef? We are not made And can I just
- 5:09Speaker 2: say before we let you go, it goes without saying.
- 5:11Speaker 2: Petro was a formidable opponent. You both cooked amazing stuff
- 5:15Speaker 2: and became great friends. And I'm sure that something else
- 5:19Speaker 2: you take away win.
- 5:20Speaker 1: At least you can cook for each other and that's
- 5:22Speaker 1: a lot more.
- 5:27Speaker 2: Congratulations again, Vinnie and enjoy, enjoy, enjoy the spoils of
- 5:32Speaker 2: being Master Chef Australia. I'm sure we'll see you again soon.
