- 0:06Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:09access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing genuine
- 0:13issues. Brought to you by the
- 0:15Hypnotherapist, demanded by celebrities, CEOs and even
- 0:19royalty Adam Cox. These recordings took place live
- 0:23from Evan Smith in London's world famous Harley Street.
- 0:29So get yourself comfortable and enjoy today's episode of The
- 0:33Hypnotist. A lot of people now want to
- 0:42build a personal brand or they want to kind of grow a business
- 0:47and use things like social media or YouTube or podcast as a way
- 0:52of. Doing that and.
- 0:54Right now I'm kind of doing that.
- 0:56Here I am on a microphone, on a camera, sharing myself and my
- 1:01work, and it does help my business to do that.
- 1:05I could be equally as good as a hypnotherapist and not share my
- 1:11approaches and my hypnosis with people and I would struggle to
- 1:14get clients in the same way that I don't really struggle to get
- 1:17clients because I'm happy to share my work.
- 1:21So being on. Camera and presenting is a
- 1:23useful skill now for me. I felt a lot of impostor
- 1:28syndrome when I first launched my podcast.
- 1:31For the first four years, you wouldn't have seen me on camera,
- 1:34you would have just heard my voice.
- 1:36But it is beneficial to be on camera being perceived to be an
- 1:40expert or knowledgeable or credible on a particular topic.
- 1:45And the client I worked with here, they wanted that.
- 1:48They wanted to build a personal brand and then link it to a new
- 1:52agency that they were founding. And that agency was related to
- 1:56social media marketing and media buying.
- 1:59They wanted to be an expert on that, but then also funnel the
- 2:03leads and inquiries into their business.
- 2:05And it's a very good. Strategy there is.
- 2:08Someone I'm connected to on social media, a guy called
- 2:11Daniel Priestley, and he believes that that is a an
- 2:13ultimate model. You build a personal brand
- 2:15yourself and then link it to a high performing business model.
- 2:20So therefore, lots of people can benefit from this kind of
- 2:22structure, but only if you get to a point where you feel
- 2:25comfortable on camera, comfortable sharing your
- 2:28message. And that's what this hypnosis
- 2:30session is designed to do. Now, the paradox is how do you
- 2:34get comfortable doing something that you've never done before
- 2:37that might feel daunting. And the way to get around that
- 2:40is to know that you don't have to feel comfortable when you
- 2:43start. You can improve as you go along.
- 2:47Now, whether it's recording audio or short form video for
- 2:51like TikTok or Instagram or long form for YouTube, the key thing
- 2:54is that the 100th video or audio that you do is going to be a lot
- 2:58better than your first. So the key thing is to get going
- 3:02and get started and then improve as you go along.
- 3:06And that means actually feeling intentional.
- 3:09Focused and. I'm a big believer of separating
- 3:13when you record from when you publish.
- 3:15Because if you. Publish straight away.
- 3:18That can feel daunting, like you're going to be judged on the
- 3:20very thing that you've talked about.
- 3:22If you do all of your recordings and then publish later, they
- 3:25they separate the cause and effect and you can still
- 3:27evaluate the videos and the content that you create later,
- 3:31but it's good to kind of separate cause and effect or
- 3:35process over outcome. So this is done, this session is
- 3:39done for a client to help them feel that they're about to leave
- 3:44their job, set up their new agency and they wanted to feel
- 3:47comfortable presenting and expressing their message.
- 3:50So if you can connect or resonate with those kind of
- 3:53themes, you might get some value from this session.
- 3:56Equally, it was created for an individual.
- 3:58Some of the suggestions might not be right for you.
- 3:59So if you like the idea of a personal session built around
- 4:04feeling comfortable on camera, there will be a link in the
- 4:06description where you can schedule a free consultation
- 4:08call with me. For now though, I want you to
- 4:11find a quiet, comfortable place, the kind of place that you're
- 4:13not going to be distracted or disturbed.
- 4:16Relax and just enjoy the session.
- 4:30Take a deep breath in, and as you breathe in, breathe in a
- 4:41wonderful feeling of confidence and relaxation, a fusion of
- 4:48resources. And as you exhale, just allow
- 4:55any doubts, any fears, any worries to feel like they're
- 5:04leaving your body in your outward breath.
- 5:13That's it. Position your body in a way
- 5:15where relaxation becomes inevitable.
- 5:21That's it. And scan your body for any clues
- 5:26of tension that you might not have noticed in your forehead,
- 5:30eyelids, jaw, an neck, or shoulders.
- 5:35And just imagine. Every inward breath gives you
- 5:39more relaxation, and every outward breath feels like a
- 5:44release. That's it.
- 5:48And it's natural to have concerns, to think of possible
- 5:56risks too help mitigate them. But I want you to feel that
- 6:06worrying doesn't solve a risk. Preparation does.
- 6:12Decisiveness does. Learning and decision making.
- 6:20That all helps as you release those worries, feel you're
- 6:26breathing in whatever resources are the ones exactly necessary
- 6:33for you to feel empowered. You're not expecting an easy
- 6:42journey. You wouldn't even want an easy
- 6:47journey. What you truly desire is to have
- 6:53the resources, cope and manage and even thrive on a difficult
- 7:00journey. And as you breathe in and
- 7:04breathe out, I want you to imagine that that difficult
- 7:08journey that you've been preparing for truly starts when
- 7:16you do something that is a vote of confidence in yourself.
- 7:27The early pioneers and explorers could have talked about sailing
- 7:34over an ocean to explore new lands.
- 7:38The true vote of confidence is when they set sail evidence that
- 7:45they had the courage of their conviction.
- 7:50And maybe with you, it starts with an e-mail or a letter that
- 7:55says I can do this myself. And when you hand that message,
- 8:07that is irrefutable evidence that your subconscious mind
- 8:12believes that to be true. I want you to imagine seeing
- 8:18yourself, not apologetically, not sheepishly, confidently
- 8:31doing what is necessary to set sail on your journey, knowing
- 8:39that there will be storms, there will be choppy waters.
- 8:46You know there will be, but your trust in your ability to manage
- 8:55those things when they come up and not before.
- 9:02Just notice the rhythm of your breathing in and out.
- 9:07Feel your body relaxing with each and every outward breath as
- 9:15you start to feel that there are moments in life where 1 chapter
- 9:20ends and another begins, and I want you to feel that you are
- 9:29reaching the end of 1 chapter and about to start the new.
- 9:38So as your eyes relax and your awareness drifts inward, begin
- 9:44to notice that sense of transition, that subtle space
- 9:50between what you've been and what you're becoming, and feel
- 9:58that that space is safe as you relax even deeper now.
- 10:03And what if confidence doesn't come from knowing everything, it
- 10:12comes from knowing enough and being willing to share it?
- 10:21I want you to imagine a planet far off in a different Galaxy
- 10:31where everyone on that planet is blind except for one person that
- 10:39has one eye. And as you imagine that planet,
- 10:45imagine the advantage. I want you to get a sense that
- 10:53in the Kingdom of the blind, the one eyed man is king.
- 10:59And that one eyed person doesn't need to apologize for their
- 11:05ability to see what others can't.
- 11:12And that one eyed king doesn't need to know everything.
- 11:16And they don't need to be perfect.
- 11:20They can simply describe what they see clearly, calmly and
- 11:24honestly and feel your body relaxing as that lands.
- 11:34But you don't need to know everything.
- 11:38But compared to many, you can see and understand what is
- 11:44invisible to them, and feel that any pressure to be an expert
- 11:53begins to dissolve. Instead, imagine yourself as
- 12:00being useful. You have useful insights,
- 12:05knowledge, perspectives that some people could benefit from.
- 12:13Feel that that sense of usefulness replaces perfection
- 12:20as a new feeling starts to emerge.
- 12:25Comfort. I want you to imagine over the
- 12:31next few days and weeks you decide to embark on a quest of
- 12:40creating 10 videos about topics and themes that you know about
- 12:49and other people may not know. And I want you to imagine
- 12:58initially, just pressing record on that camera could feel cringy
- 13:06or daunting, and that's natural. It's natural to feel
- 13:13uncomfortable when you leave the comfort zone.
- 13:18The goal here is not to imagine that you already can feel
- 13:23comfortable. It's to be willing to feel
- 13:27uncomfortable until you feel comfortable doing things that
- 13:32used to be uncomfortable. And just imagine how comfortable
- 13:40you would feel not on your first video, but on your 10th or 50th
- 13:49or 77th video. If you'd already done 76
- 13:55previous videos, it would be difficult to feel uncomfortable
- 14:01on the 77th and you get a sense that you just haven't done what
- 14:10you want to do enough yet. So imagine whether it's sooner
- 14:19or later. That feeling of being on camera
- 14:25is not about being judged, it's about being present.
- 14:31See yourself speaking as if explaining something to one
- 14:36curious person, one human interested in that thing that
- 14:43you have to talk about. And the moment your attention
- 14:49shifts from how you look to what you're giving and saying, any
- 14:57cringe begins to lose its grip. And some people believe that
- 15:03cringe is just the nervous system's name for growth, doing
- 15:11something outside of the comfort zone.
- 15:16And when you see it for what it really is, it becomes exciting.
- 15:26And I want your imagination to imagine stepping into a private
- 15:31creative space, no audience yet, nothing's going live and no
- 15:40pressure to publish. I want you to imagine seeing
- 15:44yourself in a state of play. And imagine in that space you
- 15:54create 10 videos, not to impress and not to perform, but to
- 16:04explore, to experiment, to get better.
- 16:14And with each recording, something subtle happens.
- 16:21Your voice steadies, your thoughts organize, your presence
- 16:30deepens. What if repetition builds
- 16:36identity and identity builds confidence?
- 16:45And I want you to imagine that playful, imaginative part of you
- 16:49from your childhood starts to wake up.
- 16:55The part that learned through curiosity, through imagination,
- 17:03through trying things just to see what happens.
- 17:09And maybe that in a child understands something useful and
- 17:13powerful for you, that learning is fun when it isn't tethered to
- 17:22approval. When you're just creating for
- 17:27you, not caring what people may think, that playful energy
- 17:32returns. Creation stops feeling heavy and
- 17:39starts feeling like a fun game. Each level seems to be surpassed
- 17:52when each video is completed, and each time you notice an
- 17:57improvement, it becomes a win and your nervous system begins
- 18:05to associate visibility with pride, progress and momentum.
- 18:17And I don't know if it will be days or weeks or months, but
- 18:22sometime soon you will experience a realization.
- 18:29I'm actually good at this. Not because you forced it.
- 18:35Because you allowed yourself to grow into it and now allow your
- 18:45mind to drift forward as you start to imagine a future
- 18:50version of you. Calm, grounded, recognized.
- 18:59Imagine that time in the future where you have become a genuine
- 19:04personal brand, a clear voice in your niche, the owner and a
- 19:13leader of a thriving agency. And when you think of that
- 19:20version of you, notice how you stand, how you speak, how
- 19:28natural it feels. And then imagine a year or two
- 19:35from now scrolling on your phone and seeing one of your videos
- 19:42the way that someone else would see them.
- 19:47Wow, this person's really knowledgeable.
- 19:50I never thought about that before.
- 19:54We could do something like this. By taking that other
- 20:00perspective, you see that you can educate, inspire, inform, be
- 20:09useful. That future version of you
- 20:14remembers this moment not as fear, but as the very moment you
- 20:21chose creation over comfort. And if you chose comfort over
- 20:30creation, that future version of you would never exist.
- 20:37So consider any discomfort in the short term as a gift to your
- 20:43future self. That future self in that
- 20:48thriving agency, endless new prospects, clients and leads
- 20:55flowing towards you because you became a thought leader and
- 21:05people feel comfortable working with people that know their
- 21:09stuff. And that future version of you
- 21:15is grateful that you didn't wait to feel ready.
- 21:21Because readiness isn't a prerequisite for leadership.
- 21:25Taking action is. So now, every time you press
- 21:31record, your unconscious mind remembers.
- 21:37You are not pretending, you're not faking it, you're not
- 21:41posturing. You are expanding your comfort
- 21:46zone. You are being useful.
- 21:50At each time it gets easier and easier and more natural and more
- 21:56enjoyable until feeling, feeling seen is less like exposure and
- 22:06more like expression. Three months, six months from
- 22:12now, an idea will pop into your head for a great video and
- 22:17you'll just grab a camera or a phone and hit record.
- 22:22Stream it live, no editing, no nothing.
- 22:29And that will be evidence of just how far you've come.
- 22:34You expressed yourself because you saw something that other
- 22:38people hadn't seen yet, and you're allowed to enjoy becoming
- 22:45who you're becoming. I want you to connect with an
- 22:52identity. No longer an employee and no
- 22:59desire to be a freelancer. You are a founder.
- 23:07Founders take the risk, Founders have the vision, founders learn
- 23:14as they go along, and founders build.
- 23:20And if your unconscious is willing to connect to that
- 23:26identity of being a founder, let me know if I'm nodding your
- 23:31head. That's it.
- 23:37Any other identity is a compromise and you are now
- 23:43uncompromising. You are the founder, and anyone
- 23:49else that doesn't believe that unleashes a new level of fuel
- 23:55within you to prove them wrong, but more importantly, prove
- 24:00yourself right. And as you allow these votes of
- 24:08confidence, new identities and vision of a future where you're
- 24:12growing and evolving take root in your subconscious mind.
- 24:16It's time to return. So take a deep breath in through
- 24:20your nose and out through your nose.
- 24:25Wiggle your fingers, wiggle your toes.
- 24:28Connect and calibrate into the here and the now as I now count
- 24:33from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken you.
- 24:37Starting to count 123 waking up 456 more alert 7-8.
- 24:45Open your eyes. Open your eyes 910.
