The Dubins Exit Mount Sinai as Old Epstein Questions Resurface (Part 2) (10/26/26) · The Vault: The Epstein Files

• 0:00
Speaker 1: What's up everyone and welcome to another episode of the
• 0:03
Speaker 1: Epstein Chronicles. In this episode, we're going to get right
• 0:06
Speaker 1: back to talking about Glenn Dubin, Eva Dubin, and them
• 0:10
Speaker 1: stepping down from the board at Mount Sinai. Virginia's allegations
• 0:15
Speaker 1: against Glenn Dubin should have intensified that scrutiny dramatically. In
• 0:19
Speaker 1: sworn testimony, Virginia identified Dubin as one of the powerful
• 0:23
Speaker 1: men to whom she said Epstein and Maxwell directed her
• 0:26
Speaker 1: for sex while she was a teenager. She described him
• 0:30
Speaker 1: not as a random name in Epstein's contact book, but
• 0:33
Speaker 1: as part of the system through which, she said Epstein
• 0:35
Speaker 1: and Maxwell, sent her to influential men. That allegation was
• 0:39
Speaker 1: public by 2019 and emerged from the same body of
• 0:43
Speaker 1: litigation that forced much of Epstein's hidden world into public view.
• 0:47
Speaker 1: Yet Dubin never became a central target of public inquiry
• 0:51
Speaker 1: in the way Prince Andrew did. There were no years
• 0:54
Speaker 1: of front-page obsession, no comparable institutional crisis. and no sustained
• 0:58
Speaker 1: demand that every corner of his relationship with Epstein be excavated.
• 1:03
Speaker 1: That disparity is impossible to ignore. A billionaire hedge fund
• 1:07
Speaker 1: founder with deep financial ties to Epstein had been accused
• 1:11
Speaker 1: under oath by one of Epstein's best-known accusers, and somehow
• 1:15
Speaker 1: his name still spent years floating below the surface of
• 1:18
Speaker 1: the scandal. One can debate the evidentiary weight of any
• 1:22
Speaker 1: individual allegation, but there's no serious argument that the allegation
• 1:26
Speaker 1: should have been treated as as trivial. The real scandal
• 1:29
Speaker 1: is how easily wealth and institutional prestige seem to absorb
• 1:34
Speaker 1: the impact. Now, the testimony of former Dubin household employee,
• 1:39
Speaker 1: Rinaldo Rizzo, added another reason the family should have faced
• 1:42
Speaker 1: far more aggressive questioning. Rizzo testified that in 2005, a
• 1:47
Speaker 1: 15-year-old Swedish girl appeared at Dubin's home, visibly distraught, after
• 1:52
Speaker 1: time in Epstein's orbit. According to his sworn account, the
• 1:56
Speaker 1: girl said she had been pressured for sex on Epstein's
• 1:59
Speaker 1: island and threatened after refusing. Rizzo described the teenager in tears,
• 2:04
Speaker 1: shaking and frightened, recounting deeply disturbing experience associated with Epstein
• 2:09
Speaker 1: and Maxwell. This alleged episode was not described as occurring
• 2:13
Speaker 1: in some distant location unknown to the Dubins. It surfaced
• 2:17
Speaker 1: inside the household of people who were among Epstein's closest
• 2:21
Speaker 1: wealthy friends. If a 15-year-old connected to Epstein was describing
• 2:25
Speaker 1: sexual pressure inside that environment in 2005, then the obvious
• 2:30
Speaker 1: investigative question is who in the Dubin household knew what
• 2:34
Speaker 1: and when? That question deserved subpoenas, interviews, document collection, and
• 2:39
Speaker 1: sustained public attention long before Epstein was arrested in 2019. Instead,
• 2:45
Speaker 1: Rizzo's account became another explosive piece of the record that
• 2:49
Speaker 1: generated headlines. Without producing the kind of broad institutional reckoning
• 2:53
Speaker 1: the facts warranted, again and again, the Dubin story presents
• 2:57
Speaker 1: warning signs followed by remarkably little consequence. Eva Anderson Dubin's
• 3:02
Speaker 1: appearance at Glenn Maxwell's criminal trial only reinforced how deeply
• 3:06
Speaker 1: her name was woven into the underlying Epstein record. She
• 3:10
Speaker 1: wasn't called because she had once shaken Epstein's hand at
• 3:12
Speaker 1: a fundraiser. She was called because Maxwell's defense believed her
• 3:16
Speaker 1: testimony could answer allegations involving the social, and sexual environment
• 3:20
Speaker 1: around Epstein. Eva testified about her long relationship with Epstein
• 3:25
Speaker 1: and Maxwell while acknowledging the significant problems with her memory.
• 3:29
Speaker 1: The spectacle itself should have ended any lingering notion that
• 3:32
Speaker 1: the Dubins were distant acquaintances unfairly dragged into somebody else's scandal.
• 3:38
Speaker 1: One of Epstein's former girlfriends, later the wife of a
• 3:41
Speaker 1: billionaire Epstein associate, was now testifying in the criminal trial
• 3:45
Speaker 1: of the woman convicted of helping Epstein recruit and abuse minors.
• 3:50
Speaker 1: We're talking about proximity to the heart of the story.
• 3:54
Speaker 1: Even after the trial, however, the Dubins largely avoided becoming
• 3:57
Speaker 1: synonymous with the scandal in the way several other wealthy
• 4:00
Speaker 1: Epstein associates did. The pattern of under-scrutiny survived yet another
• 4:06
Speaker 1: moment when it should have shattered it. The USVI had
• 4:10
Speaker 1: already signaled how seriously investigators viewed the relationship when its
• 4:13
Speaker 1: Attorney General subpoenaed Glenn Dubin, even Anderson Dubin, and records
• 4:18
Speaker 1: connected the high bridge in 2020. the requests were sweeping
• 4:22
Speaker 1: and went directly at the substance of the relationship rather
• 4:26
Speaker 1: than its public relations packaging. Investigators sought records involving financial
• 4:30
Speaker 1: transactions with Epstein, travel to the Virgin Islands, communication about
• 4:36
Speaker 1: his criminal cases, and contacts with people inside his network.
• 4:40
Speaker 1: They also sought information concerning Highbridge, Jess Daly, employment assistance
• 4:44
Speaker 1: for women connected to Epstein, and visits to Little St. James.
• 4:49
Speaker 1: That's the document trail investigators pursue when they're trying to
• 4:52
Speaker 1: understand how an ecosystem worked. It showed that the Dubins
• 4:56
Speaker 1: possessed information potentially relevant to far more than social gossip.
• 5:01
Speaker 1: The subpoenas also exposed how little the public actually knew
• 5:05
Speaker 1: about the decades of communications and transactions between Epstein and
• 5:09
Speaker 1: people who had enormous financial resources. Yet the results of
• 5:14
Speaker 1: those investigative demands never produced the kinds of transparent public
• 5:18
Speaker 1: accounting the significance of the relationship deserved. Another major avenue
• 5:23
Speaker 1: of scrutiny appeared, then largely vanished from public view. For
• 5:27
Speaker 1: the Dubins, once again, the storm passed without the sustained
• 5:30
Speaker 1: consequences that engulfed other Epstein-linked figures. Mount Sinai turned the
• 5:36
Speaker 1: Dubin relationship with Epstein into something even larger than a
• 5:40
Speaker 1: story about one wealthy family. Glenn Dubin served on the
• 5:43
Speaker 1: Mount Sinai Board of Trustees beginning in 2007, and eventually
• 5:48
Speaker 1: became a vice-chair. while Eva established herself as a physician, donor,
• 5:53
Speaker 1: and institutional power center connected to the Icahn School of Medicine.
• 5:58
Speaker 1: In 2010, the couple established the Dubin Breast Center, attaching
• 6:02
Speaker 1: their name permanently to a prestigious medical facility on Manhattan's
• 6:06
Speaker 1: Upper East Side. The philanthropic achievement gave the Dubins exactly
• 6:11
Speaker 1: the kind of civic stature that allows billionaire families to
• 6:14
Speaker 1: move seamlessly between finance, medicine, charity, and of course, high society.
• 6:21
Speaker 1: But Epstein was moving through that same institutional world. He
• 6:24
Speaker 1: donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to Mount Sinai and
• 6:27
Speaker 1: its medical school after his 2008 conviction, acquiring what release
• 6:32
Speaker 1: records described as VIP treatment. You would think that that
• 6:37
Speaker 1: alone would force hard questions about how a registered sex
• 6:40
Speaker 1: offender was able to maintain privileged access to a respected
• 6:43
Speaker 1: hospital system. Well, the answer becomes even more uncomfortable when
• 6:47
Speaker 1: when one of his closest longtime friends was simultaneously a
• 6:51
Speaker 1: major Mount Sinai figure whose family's name was literally on
• 6:55
Speaker 1: part of the institution. The overlap was not cosmetic. It
• 7:00
Speaker 1: created a pipeline through which Epstein could call on people, favors, referrals,
• 7:04
Speaker 1: and institutional prestige years after his conviction. Now, the newly
• 7:11
Speaker 1: released records concerning Eva Anderson Dubin and Mount Sinai are
• 7:14
Speaker 1: especially damning to the image of a relationship that supposedly
• 7:18
Speaker 1: existed at arm's length. In 2012, Epstein asked Eva to
• 7:23
Speaker 1: help a young Russian woman obtain a volunteer position at
• 7:26
Speaker 1: the Dubin Breast Center. Hospital personnel raised an obstacle because
• 7:30
Speaker 1: the proposed work potentially conflicted with union duties. Eva pushed anyway,
• 7:36
Speaker 1: appealed inside the institution, and the position was ultimately approved.
• 7:40
Speaker 1: In an email to Epstein, she joked that the young
• 7:43
Speaker 1: woman could sit there and just look pretty. or a
• 7:46
Speaker 1: mark that looks particularly grotesque, when read against everything now
• 7:50
Speaker 1: known about Epstein. What it shows us is that Epstein
• 7:55
Speaker 1: treated Eva as somebody who could make institutional barriers disappear.
• 7:59
Speaker 1: He asked, she intervened, and Mount Sinai opened a door.
• 8:03
Speaker 1: That is exactly the kind of elite access Epstein spent
• 8:06
Speaker 1: decades cultivating. The significance is not merely that Eva did
• 8:10
Speaker 1: somebody a favor. The significance is that years after Epstein's conviction,
• 8:15
Speaker 1: he could still reach into major medical institutions through a
• 8:18
Speaker 1: trusted friend with enough influence to get results. Now, the
• 8:23
Speaker 1: same records show Epstein relying on Eva for medical help
• 8:26
Speaker 1: involving young women in his orbit. When one young Russian
• 8:29
Speaker 1: woman needed to go to the gynecologist, Epstein told her
• 8:33
Speaker 1: that Eva would arrange it. Eva later provided doctor contacts.
• 8:37
Speaker 1: After the same woman was injured in an ATV accident
• 8:40
Speaker 1: on Epstein's private island, Epstein again turned to Eva for assistance.
• 8:45
Speaker 1: She helped arrange for a Mount Sinai plastic surgeon, Dr.
• 8:48
Speaker 1: Jess Ting, to be available and records indicate Ting later
• 8:52
Speaker 1: treated the woman inside Epstein's Manhattan townhouse. Four months after
• 8:56
Speaker 1: the procedure, Epstein directed a $ 50, 000 donation to Mount Sinai
• 9:01
Speaker 1: that was earmarked for Ting's research. Now, that sequence should
• 9:06
Speaker 1: make everybody take a look at the relationship between Epstein's money,
• 9:09
Speaker 1: his medical access to the young women around him, and
• 9:12
Speaker 1: the people who helped them navigate those institutions. It also
• 9:15
Speaker 1: makes the Dubin connection to Mount Sinai impossible to dismiss
• 9:19
Speaker 1: as philanthropic background noise. Epstein was using a hospital network
• 9:24
Speaker 1: in which the Dubins carried enormous status, and Evo was
• 9:27
Speaker 1: directly assisting with access. The closer the documentary record gets
• 9:32
Speaker 1: to the ground, the worse the old claim of peripheral
• 9:34
Speaker 1: association looks. The 2026 Epstein Files release finally made it
• 9:40
Speaker 1: harder for the Dubins to remain in the background. Millions
• 9:44
Speaker 1: of pages of material opened new windows into the relationship
• 9:47
Speaker 1: Epstein maintained after his conviction, and Eva Anderson Dubin's name
• 9:51
Speaker 1: appeared throughout that world with remarkable frequency. New reporting documented
• 9:56
Speaker 1: her role in Medical Assistance, Employment Favors, introductions, and continued
• 10:02
Speaker 1: personal contact. Other reporting revisited Glenn's financial history with Epstein
• 10:07
Speaker 1: and the importance of the Highbridge deal. The picture that
• 10:10
Speaker 1: emerged was not one of accidental adjacency. It was the
• 10:15
Speaker 1: picture of two people whose relationship with Epstein touched family, finance, travel, healthcare, philanthropy,
• 10:21
Speaker 1: and high society. At a certain point, calling that a
• 10:24
Speaker 1: friendship understates the scale of the connection. It was an
• 10:27
Speaker 1: ecosystem relationship. Epstein could move from Glenn's financial universe into
• 10:32
Speaker 1: Eva's institutional universe without ever leaving the circle of people
• 10:37
Speaker 1: who had known him for years. The mystery is not
• 10:40
Speaker 1: why the Dubins are finally receiving scrutiny. The mystery is
• 10:44
Speaker 1: how they avoided this level of scrutiny for so long.
• 10:48
Speaker 1: By September of 2026, even Congress had begun naming Glenn
• 10:51
Speaker 1: Dubin directly in the renewed push for Epstein accountability. Representative
• 10:56
Speaker 1: Thomas Massey stood on the House floor and identified Dubin
• 10:59
Speaker 1: among 14 people he said should be investigated as alleged
• 11:03
Speaker 1: Epstein co-conspirators. That statement was politically explosive because it moved
• 11:08
Speaker 1: Dubin from the shadows of court records and financial reporting
• 11:12
Speaker 1: into the center of a congressional demand for investigation and
• 11:16
Speaker 1: It also highlighted just how dramatically the public framing had changed.
• 11:21
Speaker 1: For years, Dubin was the billionaire whose Epstein relationship was
• 11:24
Speaker 1: discussed mainly in specialized reporting, civil filings, and the occasional
• 11:28
Speaker 1: burst of scandal coverage. Now, his name was being spoken
• 11:31
Speaker 1: in Congress alongside a demand that the Justice Department act.
• 11:35
Speaker 1: That did not happen because the Highbridge deal had suddenly
• 11:38
Speaker 1: occurred or because Roberts had suddenly made her allegation. Those
• 11:42
Speaker 1: things had been known for years. What changed? was the
• 11:45
Speaker 1: accumulation of evidence and the collapse of the old willingness
• 11:49
Speaker 1: to treat Epstein's powerful associates as disconnected curiosities. The protective
• 11:55
Speaker 1: fog around Glen Dubin was finally beginning to burn off.
• 11:59
Speaker 1: Mount Sinai's position then became increasingly uncomfortable. The hospital had
• 12:04
Speaker 1: already faced reporting about Epstein's donations, his VIP access, the
• 12:08
Speaker 1: private treatment provided by one of its surgeons, and the
• 12:11
Speaker 1: role Evo played in helping people connected to Epstein's orbit
• 12:15
Speaker 1: obtain assistance. It reportedly reformed a committee to review its
• 12:19
Speaker 1: historical relationship with Epstein. At the same time, Glenn Dubin
• 12:24
Speaker 1: remained one of the institution's most prominent trustees and had
• 12:27
Speaker 1: served as vice chair. That placed Mount Sinai in the
• 12:31
Speaker 1: absurd position of examining its ties to Epstein, while one
• 12:34
Speaker 1: of Epstein's closest, long-time associates still occupied a position near
• 12:38
Speaker 1: the top of its governance structure. The problem was not
• 12:42
Speaker 1: simply optics, it was whether an institution would could credibly
• 12:46
Speaker 1: investigate its own Epstein history without fully confronting the roles
• 12:49
Speaker 1: of the powerful people who helped connect that history to
• 12:52
Speaker 1: the hospital. Glenn and Eva Dubin were central to that
• 12:56
Speaker 1: question because their identities at Mount Sinai were not minor
• 13:00
Speaker 1: or ceremonial. Their name was on a major clinical center,
• 13:04
Speaker 1: their family had deep institutional ties, and Glenn had sat
• 13:08
Speaker 1: on the board since 2007. Eventually, the contradiction became too
• 13:12
Speaker 1: obvious to ignore. Then came October 23rd, 2026, and a
• 13:18
Speaker 1: report that Glenn Dubin had stepped down from Mount Sinai's
• 13:20
Speaker 1: board and that Eva Anderson Dubin had also left the
• 13:23
Speaker 1: board of the Icahn School of Medicine earlier in the year.
• 13:27
Speaker 1: Mount Sinai said their terms ended in spring and they
• 13:30
Speaker 1: did not seek re-election. The institution has not publicly established
• 13:34
Speaker 1: that the departures were caused by the Epstein review, but
• 13:38
Speaker 1: the timing lands in the middle of a rapidly intensifying
• 13:41
Speaker 1: examination of the hospital's Epstein history. The Dubins had still
• 13:45
Speaker 1: appeared on Mount Sinai board material in 2025 and were
• 13:49
Speaker 1: absent from the list covering membership as of March 31, 2026.
• 13:55
Speaker 1: By then, the Epstein files had already exposed far more
• 13:58
Speaker 1: detail about Eva's role as a conduit to Mount Sinai
• 14:02
Speaker 1: and about Epstein's donations and medical access. Glenn's old financial
• 14:06
Speaker 1: relationship with Epstein was also receiving renewed attention and Massey
• 14:11
Speaker 1: had publicly called for him to be investigated. Nobody needs
• 14:14
Speaker 1: to manufacture a casual explanation that Mount Sinai has not
• 14:18
Speaker 1: supplied an order to recognize what is sitting directly in
• 14:21
Speaker 1: front of us. A longtime vice chair with decades of
• 14:24
Speaker 1: Epstein history left one of America's most prestigious hospital boards
• 14:29
Speaker 1: at the precise moment that institutions, Epstein Connections, were becoming
• 14:33
Speaker 1: an active public controversy. The departure feels less like the
• 14:37
Speaker 1: beginning of the Dubin story than the overdue arrival of
• 14:41
Speaker 1: consequences at the institutional level. And I think that the
• 14:46
Speaker 1: Dubin story also exposes the weakness of the standard defense
• 14:49
Speaker 1: offered by powerful people in the Epstein orbit. Oh, they
• 14:53
Speaker 1: didn't know the full extent of what he was doing.
• 14:55
Speaker 1: The formulation sets the bar conveniently high because almost nobody
• 14:59
Speaker 1: outside Epstein's inner criminal circle would need to know every
• 15:02
Speaker 1: detail of every offense before deciding he was dangerous. By 2008,
• 15:07
Speaker 1: the relevant question was not whether Friends possessed a complete
• 15:10
Speaker 1: prosecution file, They knew he had pleaded guilty in a
• 15:14
Speaker 1: case involving a minor, and that he was a registered
• 15:16
Speaker 1: sex offender. Eva's own 2009 communication proves that knowledge in
• 15:21
Speaker 1: black and white, and once that fact is established, the
• 15:24
Speaker 1: decision to keep Epstein socially close becomes a decision that
• 15:28
Speaker 1: deserves judgment on its own terms. It tells us something
• 15:32
Speaker 1: about how much misconduct elite society was willing to absorb
• 15:36
Speaker 1: before social exile became mandatory. Epstein discovered that even a
• 15:41
Speaker 1: sex offense conviction involving a minor wasn't enough to cut
• 15:44
Speaker 1: him off from every wealthy family, financier, donor, doctor, or
• 15:48
Speaker 1: institution that had found him useful. The Dubins were one
• 15:52
Speaker 1: of the starkest examples of that failure. Their continued proximity
• 15:57
Speaker 1: helped demonstrate to Epstein that, at least within portions of
• 16:00
Speaker 1: his old world, those gates were still open. Leaving the
• 16:06
Speaker 1: board in 2026 does not answer why Epstein remained close
• 16:10
Speaker 1: to the Dubin family after 2008. It doesn't explain the
• 16:13
Speaker 1: 100% comfortable letter. It doesn't explain why Epstein would call
• 16:17
Speaker 1: Eva for institutional help. Why he remained embedded in the
• 16:20
Speaker 1: family's social world. Or why his financial history with Glenn
• 16:24
Speaker 1: produced so little sustained scrutiny. It doesn't answer the question
• 16:28
Speaker 1: raised by Roberts' sworn allegation or Rizzo's testimony. It doesn't
• 16:32
Speaker 1: tell the public what the Virgin Islands obtained through its subpoenas.
• 16:36
Speaker 1: or what Mount Sinai's internal review found. It doesn't explain
• 16:39
Speaker 1: how the man with Epstein's record continued receiving VIP treatment
• 16:44
Speaker 1: and personal medical assistance through networks tied to one of
• 16:47
Speaker 1: America's premier hospitals. And it certainly doesn't erase the fact
• 16:51
Speaker 1: that the Dubins had years to explain the full architecture
• 16:54
Speaker 1: of their relationship while the public received fragments. Stepping away
• 16:59
Speaker 1: from prestigious titles may change the optics, but it doesn't
• 17:02
Speaker 1: close the record. If anything, it should increase the pressure
• 17:06
Speaker 1: for the record. Emails, financial documents, board communications, and investigative
• 17:11
Speaker 1: findings that can finally show the full scope of what
• 17:14
Speaker 1: went on. For far too long, Glenn and Eva Dubin
• 17:18
Speaker 1: benefited from the hierarchy of attention that was distorted. The
• 17:22
Speaker 1: Epstein story from the beginning. Prince Andrew became a global symbol.
• 17:25
Speaker 1: Glenn Maxwell went to prison. Jeff Staley became a banking scandal.
• 17:30
Speaker 1: And Leon Black faced years of scrutiny. while the Dubins
• 17:33
Speaker 1: remained a paragraph several pages into the story. That ranking
• 17:37
Speaker 1: never made sense when measured against their actual proximity to Epstein,
• 17:41
Speaker 1: Glenn's financial relationship touched Highbridge and J.P. Morgan, Eva's personal
• 17:46
Speaker 1: relationship stretched back decades, their family continued seeing Epstein after
• 17:50
Speaker 1: his conviction, and their institutional world gave him access long
• 17:54
Speaker 1: after he should have been radioactive. Virginia's allegation alone should
• 17:59
Speaker 1: have ensured that Glenn Dubin's name was subjected to rigorous
• 18:02
Speaker 1: examination every time Epstein's network was discussed. The financial record
• 18:08
Speaker 1: should have done the same. The probation letter should have
• 18:11
Speaker 1: done the same. The Mount Sinai emails, you guessed it,
• 18:14
Speaker 1: should have done the same. Now that both Dubins are
• 18:17
Speaker 1: off their Mount Sinai boards, the public should resist the
• 18:20
Speaker 1: familiar temptation to treat resignation as accountability and move on.
• 18:24
Speaker 1: The real accountability begins when the full record is examined
• 18:28
Speaker 1: with the same intensity that would have been applied years
• 18:30
Speaker 1: ago if the people involved had possessed less money, less prestige,
• 18:35
Speaker 1: and fewer powerful institutions standing around them. All the information
• 18:41
Speaker 1: that goes with this episode can be found in the
• 18:43
  Speaker 1: description box.
