- 0:02This is an Unspoiled Network podcast. This is spoil Me, covering one piece
- 0:13episodes four fifty five and four fifty six, The Friends Warabouts Revolutionaries and the
- 0:19Gorging Forests Trap and The Friends Wearabouts, a Huge Tomb and the Pante Debt.
- 0:28In these episodes, we check in with Nico, Robin, with ousap
- 0:33Masorro and with the Skeleton Guy. Sorry, I do not know how I
- 0:41feel about these episodes. Welcome to spoil Me. Welcome to the show everyone.
- 1:04I am Natasha. Thank you very much to Florian for commissioning these episodes.
- 1:11Brooke so sorry I forgot his name is Brooke. Y'all. These were
- 1:19weird. These were real weird vibe episodes. So I will say that I
- 1:26appreciate at least that Brooke asking to see this girl's panties results in him getting
- 1:32a look at all of the men's underwear over and over again, because they
- 1:37just assume that he has the thing about underwear in general, almost like it's
- 1:41his power source. And I just think that's adequate revenge because he is just
- 1:48the fact that he keeps asking this. I really really enjoy Brook as a
- 1:51character, and he keeps really bringing the energy down with this. But the
- 1:57whole thing with him is is such a that's such a weird storyline, like
- 2:02where that's going. Anyway, we'll get there. The mean episode that oh
- 2:09no, I'm sorry, guys, I'm trying to play this on Hulu that's
- 2:14where I watched it, and it's giving me an error when I try and
- 2:16play it. And I was planning on, you know, just having it
- 2:22playing in the backgrounds that I could talk to you about each scene, and
- 2:24it isn't working. That's annoying. I had been, you know, on
- 2:30Fundimation, but when I tried to log in, it wasn't. It was
- 2:37acting as if I do no longer have a account with them, which doesn't
- 2:42make any sense. It's just I have been having a lot of weird issues
- 2:46today. Okay, now it looks like it's working on Fundimation, so I'll
- 2:52go ahead and use this one anyway. Sorry. The main thing that I
- 2:58was kind of like, I don't know how I feel about this is the
- 3:02Nico Robin like storyline on Tequila Wolf. Every time I remember that's what that
- 3:12place is called, it's a little bit funnier. I think I have a
- 3:19hard time with the tonal shift between the goofiness of all the other plot lines
- 3:29and what's happening with Robin. It's just such an abrupt shift. The change
- 3:37in tone is so total, and I can't help but feel kind of weird
- 3:45about like the fact that she always seems to be the one that's getting tortured.
- 3:52You know, it just keeps happening to Robin in particular, and it
- 3:57feels unfair way that I'm like, is this just because she's a hot woman
- 4:05and there's like a pervy quality to this? Is it meant to be kind
- 4:12of her figuring out how she can redeem herself because she feels like not responsible
- 4:17for her island getting annihilated. But like, I'm sure she carries a little
- 4:21bit of guilt with her for that, and maybe this will feel like she's
- 4:26able to make up for that somehow with these people. But everybody else's plot
- 4:33is so silly. What's going on with each of them is you know,
- 4:38We've got Frankie who turns into a British man. We have Zorro who's just
- 4:46like going around this island getting lost over and over again. We have Oosop
- 4:51eating and getting fat and getting swallowed by a giant a flower that's actually the
- 4:58island. I don't know what's going on him. All of them are having
- 5:01these very silly adventures. And then we have Nico Robin who's being held prisoner,
- 5:09endlessly tortured, and she's in like a fascist run community. It just
- 5:19feels really, really weird, you know. I just I wouldn't. I
- 5:26don't think I would have the same reaction to her storyline if it were the
- 5:30main storyline and all of our other friends were also here, because that's what
- 5:36we were doing with Sabayoti. You know, we were dealing with slavery,
- 5:41we were dealing with a ruling class that was monstrous, and it was consistent
- 5:46because everybody was here. But it's just a bizarre thing to go from Chopper
- 5:55being tossed off a cliff by a giant bird and bouncing around on the floorst
- 6:00floor to her being essentially waterboarded, Like what are we doing? So I'm
- 6:08really curious how y'all feel about this one. It's a shame because I'm you
- 6:12know, the past several episodes, there has been nobody in the chat and
- 6:16so I haven't got a good idea whether I'm alone in this, you know,
- 6:21overall assessment of everything. But I hope it doesn't seem like I'm being
- 6:30unreasonably harsh. It's just jarring. And I don't know really how like what
- 6:39to even say about a lot of the plot, because it's so over the
- 6:45top, the way that the obvious nature of where we're heading with all of
- 6:50this, right, So anyway, let's just and also, guys, like
- 6:58the fact that she's being tort and the way that her uniform is like torn
- 7:01open in the front, it feels very much like we're insinuating sexual assault is
- 7:09also happening. Just the vibes are off. It's all really off. So
- 7:15we go over to you know, we have a real short moment of her
- 7:20being tortured, and then we go to the sort of captain I guess,
- 7:27who is eating his dinner and talking out loud to himself about how Nico Robin
- 7:33being here is a real hazard that like when she was only six and eight
- 7:42years old, she was already like a legend and like sinking ships she managed
- 7:47to break out of she didn't break out of impelled down exactly, I guess,
- 7:54because she hadn't quite gotten there yet. But she was in custody and
- 7:57they got her out so she is somebody that's not to be trifled with.
- 8:03And this guy is rightfully thinking she's really capable. So I want to ensure
- 8:09that she isn't able to like get out and do anything. And also I
- 8:15have to make sure nobody else here knows who she is, because I think
- 8:18his thinking is she could serve as like an inspiration for all of them.
- 8:24So one of the other guards comes in and tells him, like, construction
- 8:31is slowing down, we're having some difficulties, and he says to double the
- 8:35work hours and drop to one meal a day, and you know, just
- 8:41again like the very literally cartoonishly evil. This guy is responding about people who
- 8:48are opposed to the construction and like we shouldn't be so we shouldn't be so
- 8:54strict. And the captain says, there aren't that many of them and they
- 8:58can do anything. The only threat we have is Nico rut. I mean,
- 9:05well, anyway, uh, you need to see the laborers as expendable,
- 9:13which this is very concentration campy. I really shouldn't use the word campy
- 9:20next to the word concentration. That just didn't that didn't work. But anyway,
- 9:28the you know, the whole way that things were handled in concentration camps
- 9:33was the exact same outlook that the people were just pieces of machinery. You
- 9:39push them till they broke, and when you broke, you replace them because
- 9:43there was an endless supply because they were constantly bringing them in, so it
- 9:46was just not an issue. And it's so difficult for me to understand how,
- 9:56like how you get to the point where you can see people this way,
- 10:01and also realizing that like that used to be something that was reserved for
- 10:09situations in dystopian novels and you know, the dark history of World War two,
- 10:16but we're rapidly reaching that point in simple capitalism where there's always another person
- 10:22I can hire and just as soon as this one drops or gets broken,
- 10:26it doesn't matter. We had a period in the United States, and I
- 10:31say a period because this was by no means like the standard. There was
- 10:37a brief period there where labor rights were making it so that people could like
- 10:41have a work life balance and family and afford a home and stuff. We
- 10:46had a like pretty good setup, but it was so brief, and we've
- 10:52turned a corner and now we're really being trigued a lot more like this so
- 11:01we see everybody, you know, doing the construction on the bridge and the
- 11:07backbreaking work that they're doing. This girl is like climbing up the ducts with
- 11:13a it looks like a giant stone like roped to her back that she's carrying.
- 11:18She's serving food to the other soldiers. Even though she's starving, she
- 11:24still has to carry this food to them, and like they trip her.
- 11:28Eventually, an old man falls down and starts like it looks like he's gonna
- 11:35die, and one of the guards is drunk and starting to like use his
- 11:41whip, and all of the workers gather around him and it seems pretty threatening.
- 11:50It felt for a moment like maybe they were going to rise up in
- 11:56their numbers against him. But they then mentioned like, well, if you
- 12:03step out of line, we're going to send you to the prison tower,
- 12:05and none of you want that. And this is when we go up to
- 12:09Robin again, who evidently the point of this tower is that it's simply open
- 12:13to the elements. So she's freezing and they keep like pouring ice water on
- 12:18her, and they say something about how they can hand her over to the
- 12:26navy and they'll get a nice reward for it, because there's no difference to
- 12:33them whether she's alive or dead. They're still going to collect. They keep
- 12:37threatening this. I don't know if they've actually called the navy and notified them
- 12:43or what, because they're right they could collect. So why are they doing
- 12:48this to begin with? Are they just gonna kill her? They call?
- 12:52I don't get it. There's a moment here when they start laughing and she
- 12:58says in the sun U, what crude laughter? And the guy freaks out
- 13:03and calls her a bitch. But in the dub she says, your mothers
- 13:11must be so proud, which I don't know. I kind of liked better.
- 13:18But yeah, I don't really get exactly what their deal is here with
- 13:22like their threats. They're acting as of like, oh, if you don't
- 13:28cooperate, and I don't. It's been a while since the beginning of this
- 13:35like arc with her. What are they trying to get out of her?
- 13:39I don't even understand what it is thereafter here either way, we go back
- 13:46into the cafeteria area and the woman who had informed on them that Nico Robbin
- 13:54was here. She gets a present from one of the guards of a box
- 13:58of chalks, and the little girl watches her run out because somebody else says
- 14:05something about a filthy informant, and they're shunning her, understandably because she did
- 14:13something very shitty. But the little girl is trying to take Nico Robin's giving
- 14:22herself up in this heroic way. She's trying to emulate her and be as
- 14:28strong as Nico Robin is. So she decides that she's going to go out
- 14:31there and talk to this woman and attempt to sort of like see eye to
- 14:37why and if she can forgive her. I do enjoy this woman being like,
- 14:41get the hell out of here. You're not getting any chocolate. This
- 14:43is mine. That's a whole mood. And she tells a little girl,
- 14:48I wanted to get out of here, and I don't feel sorry for what
- 14:52I did at all, which there is a part of me that kind of
- 14:56appreciates that she isn't immediately remorseful. She's just like, you know what,
- 15:01I fucking did what I did, and I wanted what I wanted freedom,
- 15:07and I was willing to sell you out for it, and that's just all
- 15:09there is to it. She eventually apologizes, but I understand the position that
- 15:20she's in. You know, she says, we're just all so helpless.
- 15:24We have to stay here for the rest of our lives and just be treated
- 15:26like this. And she gives the chocolates to the little girl, who decides
- 15:31that she's going to hand them over to Nigo Robin, which is a frankly
- 15:37superhuman level of restraint that this kid has. I can't even imagine being that
- 15:46small and that hungry. And somebody gives me a box of candy, and
- 15:50I decide to save it for somebody else, like, truly, she is
- 15:54a saint and should be honored among children. So Robin is in her cell
- 16:04and she is uh, I won't say passed out, but she has basically
- 16:11like laid down. She's exhausted, and they finally have left off like torturing
- 16:15her for the day, and she hears this voice and there's a man in
- 16:18the next cell over who apparently he is just elderly and was imprisoned for the
- 16:25simple fact of being elderly. That like, they say, we're worthless if
- 16:30we can't work, so they put me in here and she, you know,
- 16:38the kind of camaraderie that develops between the two of them. They're chatting
- 16:48and she's sort of like getting urgent about really She has his Viver cards still
- 16:52in her hand and is watching what direction it's going there, and she's like,
- 16:56I have to get out of here, even if I I've got to
- 17:00cut my arms off. And this old man hears her and he's like,
- 17:04look, don't be hasty, listen carefully, and he says, don't you
- 17:11hear something? And we see the little girl again, just like I guess,
- 17:15hauling rocks to the edge of the bridge. It's so funny because she's
- 17:18shown doing all of this different work throughout the day, but everything looks like
- 17:22a completely independent project that she's been sent on. There's nobody around like also
- 17:30doing the same task as her. It all feels very disconnected from each other,
- 17:34which is it doesn't matter. But it's just amusing to think that she's
- 17:37just walking around finding like random shit to do. But she has to find
- 17:41her way to the tower, and she is, you know, the place
- 17:48is heavily guarded, and she's attempting to hide behind things, and eventually there
- 17:55is this explosion in a guard tower and it's a very sudden, out of
- 18:00nowhere thing, and you see these two figures running away from the tower.
- 18:07One of whom is wearing like a giraffe headdress and seems underneath that to have
- 18:15an almost like feline nose. It's a brief glimpse. I'm paused on it.
- 18:21Now. The sides of his headdress also almost look like speakers. It's
- 18:27really weird. And the other person is wearing what looks to be almost a
- 18:33wide brimmed bowler hat. I'm sure there's another name for that kind of hat,
- 18:37but it's got a green feather in it. And they're wearing a heavy
- 18:40like yellowish cloak, and they have coral colored pants, and they're carrying they're
- 18:45both carrying pistols, and they're hurrying away. So clearly these are like confederates
- 18:49working with that old man, I think. But they begin to fire on
- 18:55the the guards, and one of them comes up and says, the warden
- 19:02ordered all of us to go and break it up. And the dude who
- 19:07tells them this, he says it, and he's got a mouse tattooed on
- 19:15his cheek or something. And when he says this and they run off,
- 19:18he looks around as if to be like, I hope nobody caught that.
- 19:22So he's clearly up to no good, as well, and when I say
- 19:26up to no good, I mean up to very good because he's on the
- 19:29right side of things. Well, the little girl comes up to the tower.
- 19:37Soren that is her name. Thank you Robin for saying it out loud.
- 19:40So when I got to see it and she's trying to bring Oh it's
- 19:44not a mouse, it's like a serpent or something. Oh my god,
- 19:49wait, wait a second, hold on, is this dragon? Who is
- 19:59this? Hold on? Wait a second, hang on. I he's got
- 20:07a glowing eye. There's something going on here. What's up with this guy?
- 20:12He comes up to her anyway, and it's just like what are you
- 20:15doing here? And looks very threatening. But I was not worried for her
- 20:22because clearly something is going on, right. We cut then to one of
- 20:29the guards going up to the captain and telling him like, oh, hey,
- 20:33there was an incident, but as ordered, all of the teams went
- 20:37to break it up, so don't worry, it's taken care of. And
- 20:42the Captain's like, wait, what, I didn't give that order. What
- 20:48are you talking about? Oh, don't tell me that you sent all of
- 20:52the dudes who were guarding the fucking tower, did you? And oh no,
- 20:59that's right. I'm an agent of the revolutionary Army. He because that's
- 21:03why I thought he had a mouse on his face, because he has the
- 21:04mouse ears. He I knew there was a mouse thing, but like,
- 21:10the drawing on his cheek is really weird. It's very stylized. So he
- 21:18lets the old man out, who then says, oh yeah, and hey,
- 21:22while you're at it, let the other girl out too. So they
- 21:26get the keys, and I love the fucking captain being like, I do
- 21:29not give a shit about the dissidents. You have got to deal with Nico
- 21:33Robin and y'all. They have to go through all of the keys to like
- 21:40get her unlocked, and I was starting to get so agitated. I figured
- 21:44it's a cartoon. She puts the one key in, done and done.
- 21:48Not so lucky. Actually, they finally get her undone, and just as
- 21:56this one guy yells Nico Robin she's right there, shoot her to death,
- 22:02the whole screen goes black and white, and her arms come up out of
- 22:07their shoulders and she snaps all their necks, and you guys, the cheer
- 22:12that I let out it was so rad It was so sudden, like she
- 22:18had just barely gotten her hands free. It was really well done. The
- 22:22timing of this. I loved it so much. So Nico says goodbye to
- 22:30Soren and it's like the people here have done so much for me and I
- 22:34have to repay the favor. The warden is sobbing. Oh my god,
- 22:45I love Sorin saying you have a nice name. And just the weirdness of
- 22:52that moment. She's just standing in the middle of like the walkway, watching
- 22:56Nico walk away, all cheerful about her name. I feel like there was
- 23:00supposed to be something significant about her saying this, but I couldn't figure out
- 23:04what it was meant to be. It just you know what I mean.
- 23:10It just felt like a weird, pointed moment that I wasn't picking up on.
- 23:15We have a really brief bit where we go back to the ship that
- 23:19has Sloofy on it and he's just sitting up on the figurehead and there's it's
- 23:29this episode and the next one where they're talking about their plans, and it's
- 23:36like meant to be that there's a bit of an argument between everybody, but
- 23:38it just seems like we're just checking in with them, and anytime that there's
- 23:44a conversation to be had. It doesn't seem to matter all that much.
- 23:48It's just we had to have something happen while we were over here, you
- 23:51know. And Jim Bay is saying, like, I don't know about the
- 23:56wind. I'm not sure if we're actually going to be able to get there
- 24:00in time, but dude, you really should rest. You can't just stay
- 24:06awake this whole time. And he almost says something to Lufy about how he
- 24:10isn't sure if they'll get there in time, but decides that he isn't going
- 24:14to feed into Lufy's anxiety, which is good because Luviy is sitting there just
- 24:21staring at the beaver card and has an expression on his face. He is
- 24:27determined as usual. So this is when we go back to us Up and
- 24:34harrih Clesan. You guys, this is such a weird story. So Harrik
- 24:41Clesan is what a weird character. He is feeling a lot like Usop's alter
- 24:52ego. I said that last time, but really here when Usup is telling
- 24:56him, well, you're a strong, cool hero and I want to be
- 25:02like you, it just really motivates him to like get up and do shit
- 25:06in a way that feels like Oosup, and they are still being chased by
- 25:11these carnivorous plants, which truly is so rude. This giant, pointy toothed
- 25:18fucking sunflower like it really was reminding me of the the flower in the movie.
- 25:27I can't remember the name of the Baron, but you know the one
- 25:30I'm talking about. It's not as incredibly creepy as that, but pretty close.
- 25:36I love fucking Hercules and Heraclesan. He punches Oosop by accident and sends
- 25:45him like flying into the sunflower in such a way that it's almost as if
- 25:52he punched the sunflower, but not exactly. The whole bit is very silly.
- 26:00But eventually they all collapse headfirst in the dirt and they have a little
- 26:07bit of a respite here and he says something about how he's so hungry,
- 26:15and Heraclesan is like, oh, okay, I have someplace that we can
- 26:18go and get you something to eat. And they turn a corner and there
- 26:22is a ramen waterfall with like it's gotten noodles. It's like a whole thing
- 26:33spaghetti on plates that are like growing out of the ground. There are hams
- 26:41growing down from the trees like fruits and there are rocks made of chocolate as
- 26:48well, and he says, you can eat whatever you see. Everything is
- 26:53safe, and you guys, there's like horn dogs in the background and stuff
- 27:02like this is delightful. I really wish that Lufy got to come here.
- 27:08Can you imagine he would lose his entire mind. I was a little bit
- 27:14surprised at how hard Usup goes, because while he can be greedy, it's
- 27:22never usually like this kind of greedy. I was just not expecting him to
- 27:26completely go off the deep end the way that he does. So what Heraclesan
- 27:34is saying is like, eat up and build your stamina and then you'll be
- 27:38able to be strong. And he's like, well, you can't just eat.
- 27:44As he's watching us Up continuing, he's like, you need to work
- 27:47out too, and Usup's like, yeah, I know, I know,
- 27:51but I need to be a lot, like eat a lot to become a
- 27:55cool hero of the forest like you, right, And Heraclesan has this moment
- 27:59of like, you want to become like me and gets very pumped about this.
- 28:07We see this amazing moment of him like flexing and looking really dashing,
- 28:18and then Oosop standing up next to him, absolutely jacked wearing nothing but a
- 28:23loincloth with like these thick fies and huge delts and everything, and I was
- 28:32like, wow, okay, did this did this actually happen? But no,
- 28:38that's in his imagination. And then he turns and looks at Oosop and
- 28:44he's gone, and there's a chunk dug out of the ground because evidently the
- 28:52ground is also ham you can see like the pink inside it's there's there's a
- 29:00cake like off in the background. He runs after Oosup and he's running past
- 29:04like a couple of vegetable kebabs. There's all of these chicken legs coming off
- 29:10of a bush. We've got giant doughnuts and what looks like the top of
- 29:15either an ice cream or a cupcake, just all of these different types of
- 29:22food. And he's saying it's too good. I can't stop even though I'm
- 29:26full. And finally, when this dude catches up with Oosop, Usup has
- 29:33gotten fat. Now, you guys know, as a fat person, I
- 29:37have some sensitivity to fat jokes, and I actually was pleasantly surprised that this
- 29:45wasn't worse as much as it's annoying that he is fat and the whole way
- 29:51that, like Heracles And is like what did you do to yourself? I
- 29:56was just glad that like it. They don't make him so revolting. Actually,
- 30:03fat oos Up is kind of adorable, you know, he's kind of
- 30:07cute. And the main thing that Heracles and is saying is like, dude,
- 30:15if you're too heavy, like you were having trouble here because you were
- 30:18being pursued and you were too weak to fight back, all you've done is
- 30:22gain weight. This does not help, Like what do you think this is
- 30:26going to do? And there's no arguing with that. That's true. So
- 30:32at this point, the ground begins to move and you see an outside view
- 30:37of the island which looks like this giant, weird cactus like flower and its
- 30:45prongs begin to lift like it looks like two petals, and you find out
- 30:52that like it's got a mouth in the center, and the ground it's just
- 30:59where it's prey hangs out until it feels like tilting them back into its mouth.
- 31:07He us Up falls and Heracles And tries to save him, but us
- 31:11Up has gained so much weight that he can't hold him and he has to
- 31:17let go. You see us Up falling and he's like at one point all
- 31:23of this, like ramen appears in front of him, the noodles, and
- 31:29instead of like grabbing it like I thought, what we see is us up
- 31:36eating his way up the ramen so that it pulled like his mouth is pulling
- 31:42him back to safety. It is the weirdest effect. And by the time
- 31:52he's done with that, he's not only just fat, he has also grown
- 31:56like six feet vertically some how. But yeah, this is when this her
- 32:05Heraclesan is like, dude, if you're fat, you're a much more appealing
- 32:12target for this thing. You're gonna get eaten. Like you're not gonna escape
- 32:16these islands. That's that's impossible. And Heraclesan just starts to say his name
- 32:23again and like pose and that's the end of the episode. So you see
- 32:29what I mean with like the tone after everything that happens with Ego Robin and
- 32:31it's just feeling kind of like, what are what are we doing here?
- 32:35Guys? So the next episode, oh man, y'all, this is so
- 32:44weird. So we start off on the ship with Loofygue again and there's a
- 32:52little bit of an argument. I feel like it was. It was a
- 32:55Crocodile or Jim Bay. One of them is saying, like, I'm going
- 32:59to be the one that's uh that fights white Beard and I can't remember,
- 33:06but they kind of like snipe at each other about it. Oh, I
- 33:12think that's a little bit later on in this episode, my bad. I
- 33:15thought it started that way, but it looks like it doesn't. We start
- 33:16off with Pirona and Zorro and this thing with Zoro like it's gonna take almost
- 33:22no time to talk about this. There is very little to this entire plot.
- 33:30Zoro is like being taunted by Pirona, and she for herself has been
- 33:38super lonely, so she sent him on uh to. She sent him to
- 33:45find the sword that she like took away from him, but evidently she told
- 33:51him exactly where that sword is and where to find it, and because he
- 33:55is so bad with directions, he cannot find his way back again. So
- 34:00we just see her sort of waiting around for him to Like, I don't
- 34:06know if the point was supposed to be that she put it in her bedroom
- 34:08and she's trying to seduce him and luring him to her bedroom is like part
- 34:13of her plan, but she's waiting around and he is not showing up,
- 34:17and we see him continuously going in like every wrong direction, and she's getting
- 34:22really frustrated, and it's just like, what am I even doing? This
- 34:28was supposed to be fun, and I'm just fucking bored. And you know
- 34:34this, I thought that I had struck on a really great idea, but
- 34:37it's been two days since I told him where his sword is and I've given
- 34:44him every hint and he's not finding it. What more am I supposed to
- 34:49do? I really enjoy her just floating around looking sad, and when he's
- 35:00upset, he accuses her of using her power on him, and she's like,
- 35:04I don't have to, you're already depressing enough, which I did think
- 35:08was a pretty good response. So she says again, I told you go
- 35:14up the stairs and down the hall. Your sword's right there, and he's
- 35:19like, you're just not being clear enough, and she's like, I genuinely
- 35:22do not know how I can be any clearer. It's sort of sad how
- 35:28pathetic you are when you don't have a sword, Like I thought you were
- 35:31kind of a badass, and look at you right now. This is so
- 35:35pitiful. And she just starts crying, which was honestly hilarious, and then
- 35:43all of a sudden she gives him a thumbs up and says, good things
- 35:46will happen to you someday. What is happening here, guys, It's like,
- 35:55I think what it's supposed to be is that she's crying because he's so
- 36:00pathetic. But then she feels bad about letting him see that. She feels
- 36:06sorry for him, and she decides to try and like cheer him on,
- 36:09but in the most patronizing way possible. I think that's what's meant to be
- 36:16happening here. It's just such a weird little scene, you know. But
- 36:23finally she just like leads him to the room and says, here, you
- 36:30can have it back, And he's like, why are you doing this,
- 36:32and she's like, well, I'm not concerned because even if you do try
- 36:37and attack me, I'm not in my actual body. This is just one
- 36:39of those projections, so you won't be able to hurt me. And you,
- 36:46guys, just the whole thing that he can't find his way to the
- 36:50sword, this is our whole you know. Like it's just such a weird
- 37:00I don't know, it just feels really uh limp. I guess, and
- 37:07she seems to be thinking that if she manages to take advantage of him,
- 37:15she'll be able to somehow ditch him on the island but find her way back
- 37:21to thriller Bark and I truly don't know why she thinks that, what it
- 37:27is that she believes he's going to be able to do to get her back
- 37:30there. But she's in the middle of thinking about this when she looks up
- 37:34and he has used his sword to cut a hole in the castle wall and
- 37:38has fled, so she's already lost track of him, and he's running away
- 37:45through the forest, and we have a flashback again of what happened at Sabodi
- 37:52and he's like the She eventually catches up with him and is like, you
- 38:01really thought that you were running in the right direction. You have no sense
- 38:05of direction, Like why are you even out here by yourself, and realizes
- 38:08that she's kind of trying to help him and sort of thinks, maybe I'm
- 38:14more kind hearted than I thought, because I just can't seem to be able
- 38:17to resist helping him, which is kind of funny. I like Pirona,
- 38:25She's such a weird character, but yeah, she's like, just follow me,
- 38:30and he's like, okay, sounds good, and then he immediately begins
- 38:34to like veer off into the undergrowth and she's like, I don't understand how
- 38:39you can't even follow me properly, Like what is wrong with you? And
- 38:49we have a kind of jump ahead in time, and she's thinking to herself
- 38:54how exhausting it is to be with him, and he's like, well,
- 38:59you're lying. You're not even walking. How are you flying? And she's
- 39:01like, or not, how are you flying? How are you tired?
- 39:05And she's like, just being around you, dude, it's fucking draining.
- 39:09And as they're talking about this, you see these like red eyes in the
- 39:15forest. You hear an axe go through a tree and the tree gums goes
- 39:20down. And she had thought that, like you know, it was just
- 39:22the two of them on this island. So she's a little bit startled and
- 39:28uh. As he's like, are you just gonna leave me here? She
- 39:31says to him basically that I was only hanging out with you because I was
- 39:37bored. If there's somebody else here that's not as boring, I will definitely
- 39:43I would rather be with them. And as she flies off, she's like,
- 39:45I hope it's somebody cute this time, and she's flying and he turns
- 39:52around and looks for her and is like, where are you going? It
- 39:55was him in front of her somehow. It's confusing, and she's like,
- 40:00I don't understand this. Are are like, are you some kind of creature?
- 40:06What's going on here? Unclear to me as well? Did she lose
- 40:12track of her own location and think that she had been flying forward but actually
- 40:16flew in a circle. What's meant to be happening? I do not understand
- 40:22the implications of this. At one point, they're like walking through all of
- 40:30this rubble and there's a tree that's clearly it's the one that was just cut
- 40:35down, and she's sort of like, oh, I guess that noise I
- 40:37heard was just a tree falling down, but it's clearly been cut, like
- 40:40there's an axe there, and she's not really asking, like, well,
- 40:45who could have chopped it? What's going on there? She continues talking to
- 40:51herself about how maybe it was like evil spirits. You guys, this is
- 40:57like there's no plot to this. It's so oh bizarre. I cannot emphasize
- 41:01enough how nothing The whole thing with Zoro is it's it takes so long for
- 41:07like anything to happen, and once it happens, it's it's almost like it
- 41:12didn't, you know, the amount of walking that they do, but their
- 41:17surroundings really barely change until they get to these ruins, and even here,
- 41:24like they're just exploring, looking around, nothing happening. The whole atmosphere is
- 41:32meant to be spooky, that's about it, right, And eventually they get
- 41:37to this spot where there's a cross and there's a like mound of moss or
- 41:45something at the base of it, which they both take to be a tomb,
- 41:49and she says, like it looks like it's been carved out of a
- 41:52single tree, which takes a lot of skill, And as she's looking at
- 41:59it, there's a sort of flash behind him. He turns and has his
- 42:02sword like almost out of its sheath. He can tell something's up, but
- 42:07he can't see anything, and she is not paying attention at first, so
- 42:14she turns and sees him like ready to fight, but clearly doesn't understand where
- 42:19this is coming from. When all of a sudden, this like shadow comes
- 42:22at him and it goes so fast it manages to slash him in the face,
- 42:28which is quite a feat considering what we know of Zoro's reflexes. And
- 42:35when he strikes back, it just like bounces off, and Parona is just
- 42:43up in the air yelling like hey, look out, because it turns and
- 42:46gets another sword. It looks like a it's covered in fur, you know.
- 42:52But he turns and there's a bunch of them. It looks like there's
- 42:57maybe twenty, and it's hard to tell whether they're actually real or if it's
- 43:02like projections, if they're able to do. I think that it's like a
- 43:06real number. Right, there's multiples of them. But it's weird because like
- 43:12Pirna's been here for a while and evidently has never seen these. She seems
- 43:15as shocked by them as Zorro does. So I don't know what to make
- 43:21of them. But guys, that's where it ends, is just like all
- 43:24of these creatures growling at him. We go through all of that and like
- 43:30nothing happens. It's just it's so boring. Then we go to Brook and
- 43:38evidently after appearing amongst these Satanists I suppose you could call them, he's waking
- 43:46up and feeling really like lonely, trying to enjoy the morning but missing his
- 43:52friends. He comes outside and he realizes how the whole place is in ruins,
- 44:00and that yesterday he clearly interrupted some sort of weird ritual and he doesn't
- 44:07know what it was they were after. But evidently the name Satan does not
- 44:13mean anything to him. He does not know that this is like the devil,
- 44:16or that they assume he is a god exactly. The villagers come forward
- 44:27to make an offering to him, and you know, as he is wont
- 44:31to do. He's just, oh, thank you all so much, and
- 44:37they Becory is the one that introduces himself, and they're like, please accept
- 44:45this food, and this girl is holding the offering, and of course he
- 44:50has to say the thing about seeing her panties. So all of these dudes
- 44:54lift their robes and show him their boxers, which I frankly appreciated a great
- 45:00deal. And we jump ahead in time. He starts like yelling, no,
- 45:07no, no, I don't I don't need to see that. Thank
- 45:09you, I'm good. Abruptly we jump ahead in time. It was a
- 45:15weird cut to him saying how full he is and thank you all so much.
- 45:22And it turns out he in this interval has eaten like a full week's
- 45:27worth of food, which they did not intend for. It seems like he
- 45:31either is simply unaware of how little they have, or they are used to
- 45:39making such a small amount of food stretched for so long that it never occurred
- 45:45to him that was not meant to all be one meal. I think it's
- 45:50supposed to be the first one, though, that he's just like eaten an
- 45:52ungodly amount. So this is when he tells them all like, hey,
- 45:59guys, so hate to do this, but I need a favor. I
- 46:04have got to get back to my friends. I've got to sail off.
- 46:07Do you have a ship. And these people are really upset because they thought,
- 46:12you know, he had been summoned for their benefit, that he had
- 46:15appeared here to save them, and they don't understand why he wants to leave,
- 46:22and they're assuming they did something wrong. And so instantly all of them
- 46:24show him their underwear again because they figure that's what he wants, that's what
- 46:29he's after, and he might stay if they keep doing it. But at
- 46:35this point the dude in charge, whose name I have already forgotten, says,
- 46:42well, if you leave, then that's it for us. If we
- 46:45can't keep you here, These people are going to completely run rough shot over
- 46:51us. There is this I think they're called the long Arm Clan if I'm
- 46:55not mistaken, but they're a a group of like fearsome people that are looting
- 47:05their village and taking their people, the long Arm tribe, that's what it
- 47:12is. And what't Brook sees their despair. He's like, all right,
- 47:16why don't you tell me about the problem, exactly what's going on, because
- 47:21maybe I can help you before I leave. And yeah, he says,
- 47:27they take not only goods and food, but they also take men and women
- 47:30in their prime from us. And as you can see, our country is
- 47:35devastated and suffering from extreme poverty. And that's when Brooke is like, oh
- 47:42my god, wait those meals. Was that all of your food? And
- 47:46they're like, yes, that was everything we had in order to get out
- 47:51of the situation. We keep praying to all of the gods and goddesses,
- 47:53trying to find somebody out there to help us, like just throwing darts basically
- 47:59and praying that they hit something. And this guy is like, we want
- 48:05you to curse our enemies to death. When that didn't work, we resorted
- 48:10to black magic. And then you showed up the King of the Devils,
- 48:15summoned here, you're our one and only hope. And at this point they
- 48:23get interrupted by these guys showing up and just picking up a woman and running
- 48:30off with her. It's a bizarre scene because Brooke is like, why aren't
- 48:38any of you doing anything? They're just saying, hey, give her back,
- 48:44stop it. Meanwhile, they're not trying to fight back, they don't
- 48:51have weapons. They're backing away even as they're saying, hey, we're gonna
- 48:55give you hell. And Brooke is like, why aren't you doing anything?
- 49:00You guys they're taking her and they're like, yeah, yeah, we know.
- 49:05Quick put a curse on them, go ahead, do it. And
- 49:08Brooke is like, why I don't need to put a curse on them.
- 49:14You could literally just stop them. There's like thirty of you, and there
- 49:19were three of those guys, and as he turns around, they just disappear
- 49:24into the brush with this girl and Brooke is like, I do not understand
- 49:32what's happening. He turns around and they're all like trying to cheer him on
- 49:37to go and punish these people, and they're bowing to him, and he's
- 49:43like, so wait, they're just this dependent on other people. This is
- 49:49really bad. She doesn't deserve to just be abandoned like this. And he
- 49:55says, all right, guys, so you showed me a lot panties and
- 50:00due to that, I'm going to help you. But it's clear like he
- 50:07is figuring that we're going to find another way to do this. We go
- 50:13inside and he starts writing music. And it's weird because like, as he's
- 50:22writing this music, it's almost like he's writing a letter. And I was
- 50:28like, is this supposed to be his language? Is he writing a letter
- 50:30but it's a song. I wasn't really sure what this was supposed to be
- 50:34implying. But he's thinking to himself, how if after everything, he doesn't
- 50:42repay them for all of they've done for him, he will basically not be
- 50:47a man anymore. But he says it'll spoil my skeleton hood and is asking
- 50:55for more time, and it's just like, hey, don't worry, I'll
- 50:59be there soon. And it's like, I don't know who where you're sending
- 51:01this. I don't know who's carrying the mail. I don't know why you're
- 51:06writing musical notes instead of letters if that's supposed to be your language, but
- 51:12we don't see his plan here. That's how that section ends. And this
- 51:15is when we jump back to Crocodile and Jimbay, and Crocodile is saying,
- 51:21we're moving too slowly, dude, Like by the time we get there,
- 51:24everything's going to be over. The navy isn't the one that's gonna beat white
- 51:29Beard? I am? And jim Bay says, is that still the way
- 51:32you feel? And Crocodile says, I can beat you first if you want,
- 51:39and they just like glare at each other for a moment, and then
- 51:44all of a sudden they start to fight, and Loofy gets up and just
- 51:49punches his fist into the other like he has his back to them, and
- 51:54they still stop in response to him standing up. I've thought he was gonna
- 52:02yell at them for fighting amongst themselves. That he was like, guys,
- 52:07we can't afford to be bickering right now. We have a bigger prize ahead
- 52:13of us. He doesn't say anything to them at all. He just stands
- 52:17up and says, Ace, I'm on my way, wait for me.
- 52:22It's not over yet. That's the end of the episode. It's really weird,
- 52:30and I did not care for the structure of these at all. So
- 52:35apparently there's some filler episodes next that I am meant to skip, and then
- 52:39I go into let me make sure, just like as I'm talking to you
- 52:44guys, that I have the right idea in my head here of what I'm
- 52:47meant to watch next. So episodes four fifty seven and four fifty eight are
- 52:52skips, and then I'm meant to do four fifty nine and four sixty.
- 52:58So that's what's on the docket. But I really hope that we wrap on
- 53:06these little side quests because they do not feel like they were thought out.
- 53:12I don't know if these are from Cannon or if they were added to sort
- 53:16of flesh things out on the side of the show. I don't know what's
- 53:21going on, but it feels like a lot of nothing. The only thing
- 53:24that seems at all really thought out is Robin's storyline, which is part of
- 53:30what makes it seem like such an outlier. So, yeah, you know,
- 53:37while our friends are getting eaten by giant plants and thrown around by giant
- 53:43birds, or wearing dresses and seeing panties, she's being waterboarded and breaking men's
- 53:50necks. Very different energy. But yeah, that's about all I've got to
- 53:57say about these too, So I'm a little undertime, rare that that happens,
- 54:00but I've gone over enough that I feel okay with it. So thank
- 54:05you again, so much you guys for listening. I hope you're enjoying the
- 54:07coverage even though I was not feeling these episodes. And until next time to
- 54:13loom, motherfuckers, that was an unspoiled network podcast.
