- 0:00Speaker 1: Toby and Chili mornings on demand on 97.1.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Wash FM 97.1 Wash FM where Toby and Chili in
- 0:08Speaker 2: the morning. Welcome to the end of another week. And
- 0:13Speaker 2: it's a day before my mom's birthday. Toby, don't forget.
- 0:15Speaker 2: Don't forget. Phone call mom tomorrow. Anyway, 866-927-4361. Why are
- 0:21Speaker 2: you feeling good this morning, Chili Amar?
- 0:24Speaker 3: Well, the silly weekend has arrived. My sister's birthday was
- 0:29Speaker 3: a couple of weeks ago. And I know I told
- 0:30Speaker 3: you that her request for all of us, our sister cousins,
- 0:33Speaker 3: we call them. She wanted us all to dress like
- 0:36Speaker 3: the Saturday Night Live character, Sally O'Malley.
- 0:39Speaker 4: Oh, well.
- 0:39Speaker 3: And we're all meeting up. And we're going to go
- 0:42Speaker 3: out and have brunch together this weekend. And who knows
- 0:45Speaker 3: whose social media page we may show up on as
- 0:48Speaker 3: a group of 50-something-year-old ladies dressed like Sally O'Malley walking around.
- 0:53Speaker 2: I'm going to tell you right now, if I see
- 0:57Speaker 2: any posts from Mary Field that say anything about Sally
- 1:01Speaker 2: O'Malley Saturday Night Live or look at the Golden Girls
- 1:04Speaker 2: out for a group lunch.
- 1:06Speaker 1: Yes, please send it. I'm going to, well, I'll send
- 1:08Speaker 1: it to you, but I'm going to lose it.
- 1:10Speaker 3: I will be so tickled if that happens.
- 1:13Speaker 2: All right. So everybody, you've been given permission to stalk
- 1:15Speaker 2: restaurants and where again? Merrifield. Oh, wait a minute.
- 1:18Speaker 1: Hold on to everything. I can't go any further. I
- 1:21Speaker 1: just remembered something.
- 1:24Speaker 2: I didn't do any work on my fantasy team and
- 1:26Speaker 2: there was a game last night and oh man. Well,
- 1:32Speaker 2: you know what? I'm going to turn this into a positive.
- 1:34Speaker 2: Here's why.
- 1:34Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:36Speaker 2: I hope I don't jinx myself, but you know, with
- 1:38Speaker 2: my 4-0 record going into this week, and I'm firmly
- 1:42Speaker 2: atop the Fantasy League. I'm breathing very rarefied air. So
- 1:48Speaker 2: that's a good thing. Now I'm going to have to
- 1:51Speaker 2: add that to the list of things to do after
- 1:53Speaker 2: the show.
- 1:53Speaker 4: Yes.
- 1:54Speaker 2: My bad. But there is a positive silver lining to
- 1:56Speaker 2: that cloud. How about you? 866-927-4361. Tell us, because joy
- 2:02Speaker 2: is contagious. We need more of it on a Friday.
- 2:04Speaker 2: Let's get into it, shall we? The news is on
- 2:07Speaker 2: the way. We call it Top Stories at the top
- 2:09Speaker 2: of the hour with Toby and Chili in the morning.
- 2:11Speaker 2: What's going on?
- 2:12Speaker 3: A new study just ranked the most popular Halloween costumes
- 2:16Speaker 3: for this year. And if you need a little inspiration,
- 2:19Speaker 3: stick around.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Top stories, top of the hour.
- 2:25Speaker 3: Hurricane Isaias remains a Category 2 storm, but it could
- 2:29Speaker 3: strengthen to a Cat 3 before weakening and making landfall
- 2:33Speaker 3: near the Florida-Alabama border overnight tonight. Forecasters warn of dangerous
- 2:38Speaker 3: surf and up to 15 inches of rain. Secretary of
- 2:42Speaker 3: War Pete Hegseth wants the firing squad execution of Nidal
- 2:46Speaker 3: Hassan to be public. The former army doctor killed 13
- 2:50Speaker 3: people back in 2009 in Fort Hood. The execution is
- 2:54Speaker 3: set for December 3rd. An Army report on last year's
- 2:58Speaker 3: mid-air collision near Reagan National Airport found multiple systemic breakdowns.
- 3:03Speaker 3: It cites broken radio transmissions as the most important factor
- 3:08Speaker 3: in the crash that killed 67 people.
- 3:12Speaker 4: D.C.
- 3:12Speaker 3: Police are investigating a bomb threat that forced the evacuation
- 3:15Speaker 3: of Sidwell Friends School yesterday. Search of the building and
- 3:19Speaker 3: parking garage found nothing suspicious. Police say missing University of
- 3:24Speaker 3: Maryland student Dylan Ashar was found after six days in
- 3:28Speaker 3: the woods. The 22-year-old walked out on his own on
- 3:32Speaker 3: Wednesday night, cold, dehydrated and hungry. Arlington County is suing
- 3:37Speaker 3: to stop the president's planned 250-foot triumphal arch near the
- 3:41Speaker 3: Lincoln Memorial, arguing that the project is moving forward without
- 3:45Speaker 3: proper environmental reviews. This is the first government body to
- 3:49Speaker 3: challenge the monument in court. And a new study ranks
- 3:52Speaker 3: the most popular Halloween costumes this year, with characters from
- 3:56Speaker 3: K-pop Demon Hunters taking the top spot. And that's followed
- 4:00Speaker 3: by Pennywise the Clown. Forecasts for today will have partly
- 4:04Speaker 3: cloudy skies, highs around 76. Right now, though, 50 in
- 4:08Speaker 3: District Heights.
- 4:09Speaker 2: And now that you've got the news, top stories at
- 4:11Speaker 2: the top of the hour, remember two things. Number one...
- 4:15Speaker 2: You'll get more news coming up in just about an
- 4:17Speaker 2: hour from now, 610. That's top stories at the top
- 4:20Speaker 2: of the hour with 97.1 Wash FM. And if your
- 4:24Speaker 2: headspace needs a little pick-me-up just in time for this
- 4:28Speaker 2: best of the 80s and 90s weekend, you don't want
- 4:30Speaker 2: to wander too far because your morning mindset might just
- 4:33Speaker 2: speak to you. Giving you the music you love from
- 4:39Speaker 2: the 80s, 90s, and today. It's 97.1 Wash FM DC.
- 4:43Speaker 2: We're Toby and Chili in the morning. And coming up,
- 4:46Speaker 2: we want to talk about how you're doing this morning
- 4:49Speaker 2: up there, you know, in your head space.
- 4:51Speaker 3: And as we do every Friday, because we kick off
- 4:53Speaker 3: our best of the 80s and 90s weekend at 5 p.m.
- 4:56Speaker 3: on Fridays, you like to find a lyric that you
- 4:59Speaker 3: can sing. As our morning mindset, quote unquote, quote.
- 5:03Speaker 4: Right, right, right.
- 5:03Speaker 1: Well, you know what?
- 5:04Speaker 2: What better inspiration to find than some of the songs
- 5:07Speaker 2: which gave us so many memories, which even now to
- 5:10Speaker 2: this day still conjure moments. Like, for instance, if we
- 5:13Speaker 2: go back to 1985, this was a number five song
- 5:16Speaker 2: in the U.S. from Howard Jones. Things can only get better.
- 5:20Speaker 2: And that's kind of been a running theme this week.
- 5:22Speaker 2: You know what I mean? The running theme being that
- 5:25Speaker 2: you don't have to match anybody else's timeline to have courage.
- 5:28Speaker 2: Difficult moments can help you and handle things before. Trust
- 5:33Speaker 2: what you've learned. If you look back at the week,
- 5:35Speaker 2: those have all been kind of the themes. And so
- 5:37Speaker 2: let's end the week with the knowledge that things can
- 5:40Speaker 2: only get better. You can hear the song in your head, right?
- 5:44Speaker 2: Do you feel scared? We all do. And we got
- 5:46Speaker 2: this advice back in the 80s and it still resonates today.
- 5:50Speaker 2: You don't have to have The world figured out to
- 5:53Speaker 2: move forward. Nobody really does, from family to work. Some days,
- 5:57Speaker 2: just getting through the day, deciding that yesterday doesn't get
- 6:00Speaker 2: to control your day today, that means everything. So I
- 6:05Speaker 2: don't know what you're facing, but I do know this.
- 6:07Speaker 2: If you give yourself permission to believe that the best
- 6:10Speaker 2: part of your story has not happened yet, then things
- 6:13Speaker 2: can only get better. And you'll probably hear Howard Jones
- 6:17Speaker 2: this weekend. It's your Morning Mindset for Friday. Let's weekend. Responsibly,
- 6:23Speaker 2: but not too responsibly. You know what I mean? It
- 6:26Speaker 2: is 97.1 Wash FM. Stay right there, because... If you.
- 6:30Speaker 3: Have ADD or ADHD, you're going to want to hear
- 6:32Speaker 3: about these $ 500 headphones that are designed to help you focus.
- 6:37Speaker 2: Chili, your life with neurodivergence is well-documented, and I will
- 6:42Speaker 2: tell you that what were we talking about? Living with
- 6:45Speaker 2: it can be an interesting....
- 6:49Speaker 1: Challenge, challenge.
- 6:50Speaker 2: When it comes to ADHD and focus and all of
- 6:52Speaker 2: this stuff. 97.1 Watch FM. Toby and Tilly in the morning,
- 6:56Speaker 2: but now you say there's tech that can help. You're
- 6:59Speaker 2: speaking my language. I'm focused.
- 7:01Speaker 3: Not only do you need this, but my son will probably...
- 7:05Speaker 3: Love this. There's a new headset or headphones. It's called Neurable.
- 7:10Speaker 3: The problem is it's 500 bucks. Whoa. But it tracks
- 7:13Speaker 3: your brain activity while you're working so you can stay
- 7:16Speaker 3: sharp and avoid what they call mental burnout. You know
- 7:19Speaker 3: how that is when you get... too focused or you're
- 7:21Speaker 3: trying to focus and at some point your brain's like,
- 7:25Speaker 3: and it stops being high.
- 7:27Speaker 2: That's most every afternoon around two o'clock.
- 7:30Speaker 4: I know.
- 7:31Speaker 1: Sometimes sooner. Here's what it does though.
- 7:34Speaker 3: When your focus starts to slip or your brain gets tired,
- 7:37Speaker 3: the headphones prompt you to step away, take a moment,
- 7:41Speaker 3: don't waste your mental energy, It gives you a time
- 7:44Speaker 3: to do a little reset. So when you come back,
- 7:46Speaker 3: you can lock in again. So it knows exactly when
- 7:50Speaker 3: that wall is about to hit.
- 7:52Speaker 1: Does that make sense? Yeah, no, absolutely.
- 7:54Speaker 5: It does.
- 7:54Speaker 2: I think that would be brilliant. Where can we like
- 7:56Speaker 2: get this? Like, can we like order it now? Do
- 7:59Speaker 2: you think that we could write them a note like,
- 8:01Speaker 2: dear sir or ma'am? Would love to test this out
- 8:05Speaker 2: for you. Have you considered perhaps maybe an influencer campaign
- 8:09Speaker 2: with your iHeartRadio stations? We'd like to sign up. I'm
- 8:13Speaker 2: just serious because you never know until you ask.
- 8:16Speaker 3: This has been around for a little bit. I guess
- 8:17Speaker 3: just a newer version of it is out. But do
- 8:20Speaker 3: a little search for the Neurable Podcast.
- 8:22Speaker 2: Headphones. And now you know. And knowing can help bring
- 8:26Speaker 2: peace and sanity to your household if you live with
- 8:29Speaker 2: this divergence.
- 8:30Speaker 3: And it would make a great gift for somebody who
- 8:32Speaker 3: desperately needs it for the holidays.
- 8:33Speaker 1: That's all I'm saying. Hint, hint.
- 8:36Speaker 2: It is 97.1 Wash FM. We are Toby and Chili
- 8:39Speaker 2: in the morning. Like she said, read more about the
- 8:41Speaker 2: Neurable One. on the Toby and Chili page at washfm.com.
- 8:46Speaker 2: That sounded very, like, you know, nurable one. This was
- 8:49Speaker 2: not a paid commercial endorsement or advertisement. Hi there. Thanks
- 8:53Speaker 2: for waking up with us here at 97.1 Wash FM.
- 8:56Speaker 2: Toby and Chili in the morning, and you are minutes
- 8:58Speaker 2: away from the news. Top stories at the top of
- 9:00Speaker 2: the hour, right around 610 Chili. What's going on?
- 9:03Speaker 3: Have you ever wondered what it would cost you to
- 9:05Speaker 3: achieve the American dream of owning a home, a car,
- 9:09Speaker 3: and having a retirement account?
- 9:11Speaker 4: No.
- 9:11Speaker 3: Well, buckle up because I'm about to share that price
- 9:14Speaker 3: tag with you coming up in just a few minutes.
- 9:16Speaker 2: You know what I feel in the air this morning?
- 9:18Speaker 2: The fact that the seasons have changed and that winter
- 9:22Speaker 2: is coming. It's 97.1 Wash FM. Toby and Chili in
- 9:26Speaker 2: the morning. And you need to do some things around
- 9:28Speaker 2: the house to get ready for winter. But how are
- 9:30Speaker 2: you going to afford it? Life is not cheap. Just
- 9:33Speaker 2: paid $ 6 a gallon for gas yesterday. Well, maybe we
- 9:37Speaker 2: can help you a little bit later on this morning.
- 9:39Speaker 3: It's our $ 1, 000 Workday Payday. You'll get a keyword right
- 9:43Speaker 3: around 9, 10 this morning with Jenny Chase. And when
- 9:45Speaker 3: you hear it, enter it at WashFM.com.
- 9:48Speaker 2: It's 97.1 WashFM. Toby and Tilly in the morning. Phil Collins.
- 9:54Speaker 1: 97.1 WASHFM, Washington. An iHeartRadio station. Coming up on top. Stories,
- 10:00Speaker 1: top of the hour.
- 10:01Speaker 3: Secretary of War Pete Hegseth says the execution of a
- 10:05Speaker 3: former Army doctor will be live streamed. We've got the
- 10:09Speaker 3: latest on that story and others.
- 10:11Speaker 6: On the way.
- 10:11Speaker 1: With Toby and Chili in the morning.
- 10:13Speaker 3: On 97.1 Wash FM.
- 10:18Speaker 1: Top stories, top of the hour.
- 10:20Speaker 3: Hurricane Isaias is a Category 2 storm with winds of
- 10:24Speaker 3: 105 miles an hour as it head towards the Gulf Coast.
- 10:28Speaker 3: It is expected to make landfall near the Florida-Alabama border
- 10:32Speaker 3: overnight tonight. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth says the execution
- 10:37Speaker 3: of former Army doctor Nidal Hassan will be live-streamed. Hassan
- 10:41Speaker 3: killed 13 people in the 2009 Fort Hood shooting in Texas.
- 10:46Speaker 3: Hegseth says the public should see the consequences of such crimes.
- 10:51Speaker 3: Hundreds rallied on the National Mall last night in support
- 10:54Speaker 3: of the woman at the Center of Sexual Assault Allegations
- 10:57Speaker 3: at Cornell University. Survivors shared their stories before they marched
- 11:01Speaker 3: to the White House, calling for justice and greater accountability
- 11:05Speaker 3: for sexual violence. Three people are facing prostitution-related charges after
- 11:10Speaker 3: a human trafficking investigation led to the shutdown of six
- 11:15Speaker 3: massage parlors in Manassas, Fairfax County, and Prince William County.
- 11:20Speaker 3: Police say that several trafficking victims were identified and authorities
- 11:24Speaker 3: seized hundreds of thousands of dollars. Two Montgomery County high schools,
- 11:29Speaker 3: Quince Orchard and Northwest, have canceled their homecoming dances because
- 11:34Speaker 3: of low ticket sales. One dance sold fewer than 200 tickets,
- 11:38Speaker 3: the other just 63. It's not clear whether it's going
- 11:41Speaker 3: to be rescheduled. And, well, we all kind of knew this,
- 11:45Speaker 3: but the American dream doesn't come cheap. A new study
- 11:48Speaker 3: puts the lifetime cost at $ 5. 3 million. That is up 4.1%
- 11:54Speaker 3: in just a year. Housing, cars, and retirement account for
- 11:59Speaker 3: nearly 70% of that total. Forecast for today, another nice day,
- 12:04Speaker 3: partly cloudy skies. Highs are going to be around 76,
- 12:07Speaker 3: right now 52 in Percival.
- 12:09Speaker 2: And that is the news. With Toby and Chili in
- 12:12Speaker 2: the morning, you get top stories at the top of
- 12:14Speaker 2: the hour. Next news, right around 7.10 this morning. And
- 12:18Speaker 2: a few with 97.1 Wash FM Hangout. Because Paul from
- 12:22Speaker 2: Centerville has a problem he needs a little bit of
- 12:26Speaker 2: help with. And so... We'll gather around to hear what
- 12:30Speaker 2: it is he's going through, and we'll talk about how
- 12:33Speaker 2: we can help in just minutes. And by the way,
- 12:37Speaker 2: his problem, relationship-related. You know what that means. This could
- 12:42Speaker 2: get good. Welcome to Friday morning. Toby and Chili in
- 12:46Speaker 2: the morning here at 97.1 Wash FM. And I sincerely
- 12:49Speaker 2: mean this. When you're going through something and you need
- 12:52Speaker 2: like that extra set of eyes that may or may
- 12:54Speaker 2: not be in your everyday circle, feel free to reach
- 12:58Speaker 2: out to Chili and myself. Get us on Talkback. You
- 13:00Speaker 2: can call us at 866-927-4361. We'll certainly do what we
- 13:05Speaker 2: can to help you get through whatever you got going on.
- 13:08Speaker 2: Good morning, Paul from Centerville.
- 13:10Speaker 4: Hey, how's it going?
- 13:11Speaker 3: So you've got something you want to tell your girlfriend,
- 13:15Speaker 3: but you don't know how. What's going on?
- 13:17Speaker 4: I met this girl about nine months ago.
- 13:21Speaker 1: She's great.
- 13:22Speaker 4: I'm glad that I met her. I'm glad I've been
- 13:24Speaker 4: with her this past nine months. But I'm a golfer,
- 13:27Speaker 4: and I offered to teach her golf and include her
- 13:30Speaker 4: in that aspect of my life.
- 13:31Speaker 3: I really love, Paul, that she wanted to get into
- 13:34Speaker 3: something you enjoyed. So what's the issue?
- 13:37Speaker 4: My dilemma is that I kind of hate playing golf
- 13:41Speaker 4: with her. But the thing is, she's now planning these
- 13:44Speaker 4: like golf vacations and everything and has kind of that
- 13:48Speaker 4: idea in her head.
- 13:50Speaker 1: And I don't want to have.
- 13:52Speaker 4: That time centered around golf and just me being miserable
- 13:55Speaker 4: on these vacations.
- 13:57Speaker 1: Miserable wow dude.
- 13:59Speaker 3: What exactly is making you miserable i guess i'm not
- 14:02Speaker 3: understanding she just.
- 14:03Speaker 4: Really kind of throws off my game with just how
- 14:06Speaker 4: much i'm kind of coddling her and babying her while
- 14:08Speaker 4: we're playing and i feel stuck and i don't know
- 14:11Speaker 4: how to break it to her.
- 14:13Speaker 2: Can't get an easy dilemma on a friday can we
- 14:16Speaker 2: they're chilling and you uh look like you have some
- 14:18Speaker 2: thoughts for our friend Paul.
- 14:20Speaker 3: Look, I'm a very competitive person too, so I get it, right?
- 14:24Speaker 3: But there's also a time for playing for fun, which
- 14:27Speaker 3: you would be playing with your girlfriend, and a time
- 14:29Speaker 3: where you play on your own with your buddies to
- 14:32Speaker 3: improve your game. Why can't it be two separate experiences?
- 14:36Speaker 2: Bro, you could go on a date to Topgolf any
- 14:39Speaker 2: day or night of the week, but this is an
- 14:41Speaker 2: actual golf course with somebody who loves you and who
- 14:44Speaker 2: wants you to know that she's very interested in something
- 14:48Speaker 2: you love to do. For the good of your relationship,
- 14:50Speaker 2: this is one of those things you're just going to
- 14:52Speaker 2: have to suck it up on. You know, because if
- 14:55Speaker 2: you don't, then she's going to catch a case of
- 14:57Speaker 2: the feels and she's going to be all kinds of upset.
- 15:00Speaker 2: She's going to think she did something wrong. And then
- 15:02Speaker 2: you're going to have even more to try to explain.
- 15:05Speaker 2: And that's not good. Paul, we're going to put this
- 15:07Speaker 2: to the class. 866-927-4361 is the number and talkbacks wide open.
- 15:12Speaker 2: If you're signed in listening on your iHeart app, let's
- 15:15Speaker 2: talk and help out Paul if we can this morning.
- 15:17Speaker 1: Thank you so much.
- 15:18Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 15:18Speaker 2: For toby and chili in the morning 97.1 wash fm
- 15:22Speaker 2: now paul's problem just to recap.
- 15:24Speaker 3: His girlfriend decided to learn how to play golf because
- 15:26Speaker 3: he's very passionate about it however paul says he doesn't
- 15:30Speaker 3: know how to tell her he doesn't want to play
- 15:32Speaker 3: with her anymore because honestly she's not that great and
- 15:35Speaker 3: it's slowing him down That's right.
- 15:36Speaker 2: She's becoming a golf albatross girlfriend. You got thoughts? We're listening.
- 15:42Speaker 4: 866-927-4361.
- 15:43Speaker 2: And so is Paul. Kat in D.C., thoughts?
- 15:48Speaker 5: I think that he could create two separate games. He
- 15:51Speaker 5: has dedicated time where he goes golfing with her, and
- 15:55Speaker 5: then he has time where he goes golfing for him.
- 15:58Speaker 5: So when he goes golfing for him, it doesn't affect.
- 16:01Speaker 3: His game, right?
- 16:01Speaker 5: Those are the scores that he's adding up. But if
- 16:03Speaker 5: he goes golfing with her, he just doesn't.
- 16:05Speaker 3: Add those scores in.
- 16:06Speaker 2: Chili, that sounds eerily similar to what you were saying earlier.
- 16:09Speaker 3: Yeah, there is a way to enjoy it with your
- 16:13Speaker 3: buddies competitively and enjoy it with your girlfriend for fun.
- 16:17Speaker 2: This is just too stressful. As somebody who plays golf,
- 16:20Speaker 2: this makes me just nervous.
- 16:22Speaker 3: Do you think, Kat, that if he does bring it up,
- 16:24Speaker 3: it would be a big problem?
- 16:26Speaker 1: I think that if he were to.
- 16:27Speaker 5: Say something, they would break up because this has become
- 16:29Speaker 5: a part of their like relationship together.
- 16:31Speaker 2: That's valid especially if she takes it personally dad thanks
- 16:36Speaker 2: for jumping in this morning.
- 16:37Speaker 5: Yeah of course thank you.
- 16:38Speaker 2: Bethesda good morning tracy.
- 16:40Speaker 3: Funny enough uh one of my exes he loved playing
- 16:44Speaker 3: golf and i actually asked him once hey can you
- 16:48Speaker 3: teach me and can.

- 17:06Speaker 3: Maybe that's a tactic this guy can use here. I
- 17:10Speaker 3: don't know, but it worked for me.
- 17:11Speaker 1: It shut me down, that's for sure. So are you
- 17:13Speaker 1: guys still together then today? Everything's all right. Oh, no, no. Oh,

- 25:19Speaker 3: the owners make it a point to support other women-owned

- 25:24Speaker 2: Two friends getting their start looking for their next chapter
- 25:27Speaker 2: in life. It's turned into something much bigger. And now
- 25:30Speaker 2: they're writing a story about a growing community built around
- 25:33Speaker 2: their shared love of reading. Take a look. It's in

- 29:04Speaker 2: right around 10 past. When you wake up with us
- 29:08Speaker 2: and in just a bit, life is a series of phases.
- 29:12Speaker 2: We all go through them. And if we're lucky, some
- 29:15Speaker 2: of those phases we grow out of some other phases. Well,
- 29:21Speaker 2: not so much. Is there a phase that you're glad
- 29:24Speaker 2: you grew out of? One of our favorite artists has
- 29:27Speaker 2: a phrase he's happy he's grown out of, but it
- 29:30Speaker 2: might happen again, he says. We'll tell you who that is,
- 29:33Speaker 2: and we'll talk with you about that phase in a few.
- 29:37Speaker 2: Friday morning in the capital city of the free world.
- 29:40Speaker 2: toby and chili in the morning on 97.1 wash fm
- 29:44Speaker 2: is there a phase that you are so thankful you
- 29:48Speaker 2: grew out of okay let's talk about these phases in
- 29:52Speaker 2: life one pop superstar this week apologized for a phase.
- 29:58Speaker 1: The beatboxing phase. Justin Timberlake.
- 30:01Speaker 3: And this all came about because a woman on TikTok
- 30:04Speaker 3: basically said, can we just talk about the time when
- 30:06Speaker 3: Justin Timberlake kept beatboxing? And then he commented underneath saying
- 30:12Speaker 3: he was sorry, but that he can't promise it won't
- 30:14Speaker 3: happen again.
- 30:15Speaker 1: Mm-mm-mm-mm.
- 30:17Speaker 2: That's the thing about Justin Timberlake that I love. He
- 30:19Speaker 2: will jump into your comments on social media. And that's
- 30:23Speaker 2: just a cool thing. Is there a phase that you
- 30:27Speaker 2: grew out of, Chili, that you're glad is done?
- 30:29Speaker 4: Yes.
- 30:30Speaker 3: It has nothing to do with any kind of talent.
- 30:31Speaker 3: It has to do with I'm glad I'm no longer
- 30:34Speaker 3: in the phase of saying yes to everything.
- 30:36Speaker 4: Holy.
- 30:37Speaker 1: Lord.
- 30:38Speaker 3: I have learned to say no and I'm embracing it.
- 30:40Speaker 2: Someday I hope to be like you because that's a
- 30:42Speaker 2: phase I just can't kick. But I will tell you,
- 30:44Speaker 2: the Justin Timberlake story reminded me of being a kid
- 30:47Speaker 2: growing up. My dad used to hate that phase when
- 30:50Speaker 2: I was really into rap music. And everything I said
- 30:53Speaker 2: was a rhyme. I would talk like this all the time.
- 30:57Speaker 2: Then I would throw beatboxes in and he would get
- 30:59Speaker 2: so upset and irate that he would just start spitting
- 31:03Speaker 2: and making the same noises. This is how you're talking
- 31:06Speaker 2: to your dad. One difference is Justin was talented.
- 31:09Speaker 3: You, I can see why your dad might be upset
- 31:12Speaker 3: if you walked around the house like that.
- 31:15Speaker 2: Moving right along, Jennifer in Rockville.
- 31:17Speaker 1: The phase where every weekend had to be an event.
- 31:20Speaker 1: You have to explain what that means. If I wasn't
- 31:23Speaker 1: out until 2 a.m.
- 31:24Speaker 5: Spending money and waking up slightly hungover, I felt like
- 31:27Speaker 5: I wasted my weekend. Now I love a night where
- 31:30Speaker 5: nothing happens.
- 31:32Speaker 2: So I guess this is growing up. Exactly.
- 31:34Speaker 3: And no apologies. That feels great to do nothing.
- 31:37Speaker 2: Thanks, Jennifer. In Ashburn, Brian.
- 31:40Speaker 1: I actually had a rat tail for a while.
- 31:42Speaker 3: A rat tail? The only hairstyle worse than a mullet.
- 31:45Speaker 2: I was actually a little sad to let it go.
- 31:47Speaker 4: What?
- 31:48Speaker 1: It's just a phase.
- 31:50Speaker 2: Tomorrow morning, we're going to put on some pink and

- 32:35Speaker 3: 35,000 runners expected Sunday starts and finishes around the Pentagon.
