  Speaker 1: let's get into prayer. Lord, Father that art in heaven,

  Speaker 1: I come to you in prayer to be able to

  Speaker 1: have the Holy Spirit be able to speak through this
• 0:13
  Speaker 1: mic and go through the listeners' ears and be able
• 0:15
  Speaker 1: to reach their hearts and minds and be able to
• 0:17
  Speaker 1: apply these verses to their lives. In the Lord Jesus
• 0:20
  Speaker 1: Christ's name I pray. Amen. So we're going to be
• 0:23
  Speaker 1: in John chapter 20... John chapter 7, verse 37... what
• 0:31
  Speaker 1: I wanted to say. And we're going to get to
• 0:34
  Speaker 1: about 43. So if you want to grab your Bibles

  Speaker 1: and get or get on your Bible apps and read
• 0:42
  Speaker 1: along as you hear along, I highly encourage that to

  Speaker 1: be able to soak in the word. So let's jump in.

  Speaker 1: Let's jump in. John chapter 7 verse 37. Jesus teaches
• 0:54
  Speaker 1: about water. that gives people life. The last days of
• 0:59
  Speaker 1: the festival was the most important day. On that day,
• 1:02
  Speaker 1: Jesus stood up and he spoke with a loud voice.
• 1:05
  Speaker 1: He said, if anyone is thirsty, he should come to
• 1:08
  Speaker 1: me so that he may drink. It says in the Bible,
• 1:12
  Speaker 1: God will cause streams of water to pour out from
• 1:16
  Speaker 1: anyone who believes in me. Water that gives life will
• 1:21
  Speaker 1: come out from inside that person. See, being as if
• 1:27
  Speaker 1: Jesus is not necessarily talking about being thirsty as a drink.
• 1:32
  Speaker 1: He's seeking the truth, seeking true peace as well. That
• 1:39
  Speaker 1: comes with that truth. Jesus was speaking, this is John
• 1:42
  Speaker 1: chapter 7 verse 39, about God's Spirit, the Holy Spirit,
• 1:47
  Speaker 1: who would come to people sometime after that. Those people
• 1:51
  Speaker 1: who believed in Jesus would receive God's Spirit at that
• 1:55
  Speaker 1: that later time it doesn't necessarily say when and that's
• 2:00
  Speaker 1: why practicing increasing your love for the lord and allowing
• 2:06
  Speaker 1: the holy spirit to be able to make home in
• 2:10
  Speaker 1: you sometimes quickly sometimes slowly but god had not yet
• 2:14
  Speaker 1: given his spirit to people because he had not yet
• 2:18
  Speaker 1: raised jesus back up to heaven so we received that
• 2:23
  Speaker 1: holy spirit by having that connection with Jesus in relationship,
• 2:28
  Speaker 1: because that's what activates it. Having it already placed in
• 2:33
  Speaker 1: our hearts and being able to increase the love for Jesus,
• 2:36
  Speaker 1: whether it's in the word, whether it's in praise, whether
• 2:40
  Speaker 1: it's in prayer. The essential one is prayer. People argue
• 2:46
  Speaker 1: about who Jesus is. John chapter 7 verse 40 states,
• 2:50
  Speaker 1: the people in the crowd heard Jesus say these words.
• 2:54
  Speaker 1: Some of them said, surely this man must be the
• 2:56
  Speaker 1: prophet from God that we have been waiting for. Other
• 3:01
  Speaker 1: people said, this man is the Messiah. But some other
• 3:06
  Speaker 1: people said, the Messiah will not come from Galilee. Well,
• 3:10
  Speaker 1: he came from Bethlehem, Israel. And think about, the Bible
• 3:15
  Speaker 1: says that the Messiah will come from King David. David's family.
• 3:19
  Speaker 1: He will come from Bethlehem, the town where David lived.
• 3:29
  Speaker 1: In this way, the people had different thoughts about Jesus. See,
• 3:31
  Speaker 1: everybody has different thoughts about also religion and spirituality and
• 3:37
  Speaker 1: the differences. I've noticed that in the program that I'm
• 3:42
  Speaker 1: associated with in recovery, that not everybody has the same
• 3:45
  Speaker 1: concept of God. Not everybody has the same concept of
• 3:49
  Speaker 1: the Holy Trinity with God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit
• 3:52
  Speaker 1: being one, but also being one as themselves, as three
• 3:59
  Speaker 1: in one. And I know that that can be kind
• 4:02
  Speaker 1: of confusing. And I want to be able to help
• 4:05
  Speaker 1: you understand that Jesus himself said that when he goes
• 4:11
  Speaker 1: back up to heaven, he was telling all these people,
• 4:15
  Speaker 1: that were his apostles and the 500 eyewitnesses that seen
• 4:19
  Speaker 1: Jesus as the spirit. He left the spirit when he left.
• 4:26
  Speaker 1: As if when we leave, we leave a spirit. Our
• 4:29
  Speaker 1: soul goes to heaven or hell, but our spirit lingers.
• 4:34
  Speaker 1: And I'm not even going to get into all the
• 4:37
  Speaker 1: depths of what happens in that transition, but I do
• 4:41
  Speaker 1: want to focus more on the Holy Spirit in general,
• 4:44
  Speaker 1: being as a follower of Christ. Being as if, you know,
• 4:48
  Speaker 1: I was a believer for so long and I would
• 4:51
  Speaker 1: have glimpses of not only just peace and clarity, but
• 4:58
  Speaker 1: glimpses of heaven. I just did not participate as I
• 5:07
  Speaker 1: do now as a follower. I wasn't truly convinced and
• 5:10
  Speaker 1: that's why I can relate to people that need convincing
• 5:16
  Speaker 1: evidence in order to believe what others believe. And that's
• 5:22
  Speaker 1: what it comes down to, right? Because when you're giving
• 5:24
  Speaker 1: that invitation to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior,
• 5:27
  Speaker 1: it's coming from somebody that's already gone through it. More
• 5:31
  Speaker 1: than likely, they have gone through the experience of having
• 5:34
  Speaker 1: not had the Holy Spirit and having the Holy Spirit.
• 5:37
  Speaker 1: So spreading that gospel is not all about just cramming
• 5:40
  Speaker 1: Jesus down people's throats. It's being able to share your
• 5:44
  Speaker 1: testimony and your faith. So let's go ahead and close out.
• 5:51
  Speaker 1: The officers returned to the leaders of the priests. And
• 5:55
  Speaker 1: we're in John 7, verse 45. And the Pharisees, the leaders,
• 6:01
  Speaker 1: asked the officers, Why did you not bring Jesus here?
• 6:04
  Speaker 1: The officers answered, Nobody has spoken great things like this
• 6:08
  Speaker 1: man speaks. The Pharisees replied, He seems to have... made
• 6:13
  Speaker 1: you believe his lies. None of the Pharisees or our
• 6:17
  Speaker 1: leaders believe in him. But this crowd does not know
• 6:23
  Speaker 1: what God's law teaches. God will surely punish them. See,
• 6:29
  Speaker 1: the Pharisees were definitely not a fan of Jesus as
• 6:36
  Speaker 1: he was exposing them and how they run their temple.
• 6:41
  Speaker 1: And Even though they were the liars, they were the
• 6:46
  Speaker 1: ones saying that Jesus was the liar. Go figure, right?
• 6:49
  Speaker 1: And sometimes people mirror themselves on you. They like to
• 6:55
  Speaker 1: tell you what their perception of you is. But it's
• 7:01
  Speaker 1: really a lot of the times, especially when it's negative, right?
• 7:05
  Speaker 1: That it's a reflection of how they really feel about themselves.
• 7:09
  Speaker 1: And we have to change that. We have to love
• 7:11
  Speaker 1: ourselves no matter what. In order for love to find
• 7:15
  Speaker 1: us and be able to understand what love really is,
• 7:18
  Speaker 1: God is love. The love that we have is so
• 7:21
  Speaker 1: transactional nowadays and it has to be, you have to
• 7:24
  Speaker 1: meet so many standards and expectations and so many things.
• 7:28
  Speaker 1: But when it comes to God, you come as you
• 7:30
  Speaker 1: are and allow him to fix you up with the
• 7:33
  Speaker 1: Holy Spirit. Amen. And I say that because I've been
• 7:36
  Speaker 1: through it and I'm still going through it. I'm in
• 7:38
  Speaker 1: the process of continuing to transition into what God really
• 7:42
  Speaker 1: wants me to do, not what Mark wants to do.
• 7:47
  Speaker 1: And we'll go ahead and close it out here on
• 7:51
  Speaker 1: John chapter 7 verse 52. They answered Nicodemus, perhaps you
• 7:56
  Speaker 1: have come from Galilee too. Study what the Bible teaches you.
• 8:00
  Speaker 1: You will learn that no prophet of God ever comes
• 8:02
  Speaker 1: from Galilee. Everyone went to his own home. Then everyone
• 8:10
  Speaker 1: went to his own home. Being able to realize that
• 8:17
  Speaker 1: no matter how I feel, no matter what I think,
• 8:19
  Speaker 1: I'm going to continue to do these episodes. And I
• 8:22
  Speaker 1: hope that you, the listener, was able to obtain something
• 8:24
  Speaker 1: very beneficial from this. And we started at 38, 30,
• 8:32
  Speaker 1: we started at 37. But the most important passage I
• 8:36
  Speaker 1: really want to point out is John chapter 7. Verse 38,
• 8:43
  Speaker 1: it says in the Bible, God will cause streams of
• 8:46
  Speaker 1: water to pour out from anyone who believes in me.
• 8:50
  Speaker 1: Water that gives life will come from inside that person.
• 8:55
  Speaker 1: Jesus was speaking about God's Spirit, having that Holy Spirit.
• 9:00
  Speaker 1: Anybody that believes and has that relationship with Jesus Christ
• 9:03
  Speaker 1: and follows Jesus Christ, not only do they deny themselves,
• 9:10
  Speaker 1: but they put on a consciousness of Christ. It's a
• 9:13
  Speaker 1: choice that has to be made each and every day.
• 9:17
  Speaker 1: And that's what separates us as well from Jesus, because
• 9:22
  Speaker 1: Jesus is almighty and he is always the same. Before time,
• 9:28
  Speaker 1: during his time, and after his time, he's the same.
• 9:32
  Speaker 1: Unlike us, we change. Sometimes we change for the better,
• 9:35
  Speaker 1: sometimes we change for the worse. But Jesus, God, the
• 9:39
  Speaker 1: Holy Spirit, it stays the same because it doesn't need
• 9:42
  Speaker 1: any fixing. It doesn't need any tweaking. And that's why
• 9:45
  Speaker 1: we need to continue to be tapped into it. Amen.
• 9:48
  Speaker 1: So with that being said, I got a little bit
• 9:50
  Speaker 1: more time, five minutes to kind of just go over
• 9:54
  Speaker 1: a little bit of what we covered in this John
• 9:58
  Speaker 1: chapter seven, you know, being able to have that Holy
• 10:01
  Speaker 1: Spirit also comes with authority. It also comes with more
• 10:06
  Speaker 1: than just peace. And what you do with it is
• 10:09
  Speaker 1: what's also very important. God's mission is being able to
• 10:16
  Speaker 1: help the sick, the suffering. How do you do that?
• 10:20
  Speaker 1: Not just giving them money. Not just giving them shelter.
• 10:24
  Speaker 1: But giving them counsel. Giving them encouragement. Looking at them
• 10:29
  Speaker 1: as if they are a regular person in your circle.
• 10:34
  Speaker 1: Being able to give a lending ear. And that's what
• 10:40
  Speaker 1: Jesus did. Jesus also made people feel seen. And that's
• 10:43
  Speaker 1: what the Spirit does. The Spirit is all loving. The
• 10:49
  Speaker 1: Spirit is all-knowing. The Spirit is willing to work in
• 10:57
  Speaker 1: any flesh. But the flesh must die in order for
• 11:02
  Speaker 1: the Holy Spirit to come alive. Does that make any sense?
• 11:07
  Speaker 1: The flesh has to die in order for the Holy
• 11:10
  Speaker 1: Spirit to come alive. And how do you do that?
• 11:12
  Speaker 1: You just stop doing things that feed your flesh as much. Now,
• 11:15
  Speaker 1: I'm not sitting here saying you're going to be perfect.
• 11:18
  Speaker 1: At doing this right away. But over time as you practice.
• 11:23
  Speaker 1: You'll never be perfect. But you'll have a progression. Of spirituality.
• 11:28
  Speaker 1: That tops. Over tops everything. Even the evil doers. They know.
• 11:36
  Speaker 1: The followers of Christ. They know. To stay away. And.
• 11:42
  Speaker 1: I want to talk a little bit about. When you
• 11:45
  Speaker 1: make that decision. To follow Christ. Many are called. Few
• 11:52
  Speaker 1: are chosen. But you have to choose. In order to
• 11:55
  Speaker 1: be chosen. Amen. So I choose. I choose to follow Christ.
• 11:59
  Speaker 1: So I can tap into God. And having that Holy Spirit.
• 12:02
  Speaker 1: Ring over my life. And rule my life. Because when
• 12:07
  Speaker 1: I was making the calls. And when I was ruling
• 12:11
  Speaker 1: my life. I was going nowhere fast. And I was
• 12:17
  Speaker 1: also hurting a lot of people. Now, I'm not going
• 12:21
  Speaker 1: to sit here and say I haven't hurt people in
• 12:23
  Speaker 1: following Christ. I'll never be perfect at doing it. In
• 12:26
  Speaker 1: these last two minutes, I want to go ahead and
• 12:28
  Speaker 1: take some time to shout out to my former significant other. Again,
• 12:35
  Speaker 1: we continue to break up and get back together. But
• 12:38
  Speaker 1: I really do believe this is the last ride. And
• 12:41
  Speaker 1: I hate to say that because it was something over
• 12:45
  Speaker 1: something that was already... to my attention, was already forgiven,
• 12:51
  Speaker 1: but obviously not. And that's something we got to realize
• 12:57
  Speaker 1: as well, not just when it comes to intimate relationships.
• 13:00
  Speaker 1: It's also holding these grudges that people have done us
• 13:05
  Speaker 1: wrong or we've done them wrong. And it's tit for tat, right,
• 13:09
  Speaker 1: when it comes to a lot of people. But having
• 13:11
  Speaker 1: that Holy Spirit in me, I don't have to sit
• 13:14
  Speaker 1: here and worry about If somebody forgives me. Because I'm
• 13:19
  Speaker 1: going to forgive them. So I can be forgiven. I
• 13:23
  Speaker 1: can be released. I can be relieved. Knowing that. It's
• 13:30
  Speaker 1: not in my control. I don't have to get back.
• 13:32
  Speaker 1: I don't have to do anything. Extraordinary. I'm not going
• 13:37
  Speaker 1: to sit here and say. That I'm not going to.
• 13:41
  Speaker 1: Peep around. To make sure people are alright. But at
• 13:44
  Speaker 1: the same time. I'm not going to stalk. I'm not
• 13:46
  Speaker 1: going to be. On that level of making sure somebody
• 13:53
  Speaker 1: is okay. Because I know God gots them as long
• 13:57
  Speaker 1: as I pray for them. Amen? So we got another

  Speaker 1: you more. Just continue to realize it is a choice
• 14:41
  Speaker 1: to be positive. It is a choice to stop complaining.

  Speaker 1: And allow the Holy Spirit to do some things. This
• 14:48
