- 0:02Speaker 1: Hello and welcome to Outspoken. It's your dose of the
- 0:05Speaker 1: hottest influencer and pop culture news twice a week. I'm
- 0:08Speaker 1: Kate Torber and coming up on today's show, Brittany Saunders
- 0:12Speaker 1: shocks fans by returning to YouTube, Rachel Dillon's baby news,
- 0:16Speaker 1: and the self-proclaimed tennis wags winning fans at the Aussie Open.
- 0:20Speaker 1: But first, anonymous influencer snark sites are in the spotlight
- 0:24Speaker 1: again after being called out by two high-profile influencers. Indie
- 0:29Speaker 1: Clinton has hit out at anonymous users telling them to
- 0:31Speaker 1: get a hobby, get laid or go find God. Now, Soph,
- 0:36Speaker 1: what prompted this reaction from Indy? Well, all of this
- 0:39Speaker 1: drama kicked off in popular Facebook group Tea Time. So
- 0:42Speaker 1: an anonymous user accused an influencer of not being sun
- 0:46Speaker 1: safe with her kids. She wrote, sun safety, where is it?
- 0:50Speaker 1: A certain influencer has posted to her Insta showing her
- 0:53Speaker 1: children wearing no hats or appropriate clothing to the beach.
- 0:56Speaker 1: And what makes it worse is the visible nappy tan
- 0:59Speaker 1: lines on one child and what seems to be a
- 1:01Speaker 1: severe burn and red raw peeling marks on another's back.
- 1:05Speaker 1: At what point do we start holding them more accountable
- 1:08Speaker 1: for not being better role models and promoting sun safety
- 1:10Speaker 1: over being tanned? The anonymous user added, admins pretty please
- 1:14Speaker 1: do not delete this post and support my theory that
- 1:17Speaker 1: this certain influencer is untouchable on this page. Now, it
- 1:21Speaker 1: didn't take long for people to draw the dots and
- 1:23Speaker 1: realize this post was about Indy Clinton. And while there
- 1:26Speaker 1: were some that agreed with the original poster, the majority
- 1:30Speaker 1: thought that it was a bit of a stretch and
- 1:32Speaker 1: accused the poster of mum shaming Indy. There are a
- 1:34Speaker 1: lot of people asking this anonymous poster if they were
- 1:37Speaker 1: a parent and if they're aware of how difficult it
- 1:39Speaker 1: is to actually keep a hat on a child and
- 1:42Speaker 1: really defending Indy. If anything, in general, people thought it
- 1:46Speaker 1: was a bit of a stretch. And I think we're
- 1:48Speaker 1: seeing people piling onto influencers at the moment because sun
- 1:51Speaker 1: safety is really a hot topic, no pun intended, at
- 1:55Speaker 1: the moment on social media because the ABC did a
- 1:58Speaker 1: really great investigation into what's going on on TikTok at
- 2:01Speaker 1: the moment with the promotion of tan lines. We've seen
- 2:04Speaker 1: Sofa Dofa dragged into that drama. And while I applaud
- 2:07Speaker 1: that sun safety is a topic of discussion, this did
- 2:10Speaker 1: seem like a reach. Yeah, you could tell by the
- 2:12Speaker 1: tone of this post that this person already has an
- 2:15Speaker 1: issue with Indy. So they were sort of looking for
- 2:17Speaker 1: something else to have a go at her about. Now,
- 2:20Speaker 1: Indy ended up hitting back on her Instagram story, which
- 2:23Speaker 1: I found really interesting because we interviewed her back in December.
- 2:27Speaker 1: And at the time, she was very frustrated that she
- 2:29Speaker 1: previously had to stay quiet on a lot of controversies
- 2:33Speaker 1: that had popped up surrounding her. And her management had
- 2:36Speaker 1: always told her to be quiet, to let the story die.
- 2:39Speaker 1: But I think her strategy this year is to defend herself,
- 2:42Speaker 1: particularly when it comes to people spreading vicious rumors about
- 2:46Speaker 1: her children. Yeah, when we had a chat, she spoke
- 2:48Speaker 1: about how detrimental tea time and tattle life are to
- 2:51Speaker 1: her mental health and how she has spoken to her
- 2:53Speaker 1: psychologists about ways to deal with that kind of hate.
- 2:57Speaker 1: And I'm really glad that Indy has found her voice
- 2:59Speaker 1: in this instance because there's nothing worse than people making
- 3:02Speaker 1: up rumors about your children. So she shared a photo
- 3:05Speaker 1: of Navy's back and confirmed that it was just a scratch.
- 3:07Speaker 1: And she questioned those criticizing her if they'd ever seen
- 3:10Speaker 1: her children sunburnt before. She continued writing, I'm born and
- 3:14Speaker 1: raised at the beach. I know how to keep them safe. Now,
- 3:17Speaker 1: my favorite part of Indy's clapback was when she told
- 3:19Speaker 1: the anonymous poster to get a hobby, get laid, or
- 3:23Speaker 1: go find God because you need something better to do
- 3:26Speaker 1: than making up stories about me and my kids. That
- 3:28Speaker 1: probably felt really good to say it. She then followed
- 3:31Speaker 1: up with another Instagram story, which said, actually, if you're
- 3:34Speaker 1: posting anonymously on a forum about absolute rubbish, you're probably
- 3:37Speaker 1: most definitely not getting laid. Here's a link to a
- 3:40Speaker 1: good dildo instead. Good luck. I really liked it because
- 3:45Speaker 1: Big Ed, aka her husband Ben, also weighed in saying this.
- 3:49Speaker 2: A person on a forum starts ragging my wife and
- 3:54Speaker 2: my kids about sun safety. He's lived at the beach
- 3:57Speaker 2: her whole life. I've lived in a harsh environment out
- 3:59Speaker 2: in the bush. We understand sun safety. To make an
- 4:03Speaker 2: assumption that our kids are peeling and when one's a
- 4:08Speaker 2: scab and one's eczema, is just next level. The fact
- 4:11Speaker 2: that it's done under an anonymous account just is cowardice, really,
- 4:17Speaker 2: and it makes me really sick, to be honest. It's
- 4:21Speaker 2: not about our situation. It's overall, I think, on social media.
- 4:26Speaker 2: And faceless people saying things or having an opinion that
- 4:31Speaker 2: they wouldn't have in person, that is my main problem.
- 4:34Speaker 2: It's just, it needs to stop. And I think these
- 4:37Speaker 2: forums are actually kind of encouraging this behavior.
- 4:41Speaker 1: There's something just so attractive about when someone's husband or
- 4:44Speaker 1: partner steps in to defend them. And it was really
- 4:47Speaker 1: interesting to hear his perspective. And sometimes it takes for
- 4:51Speaker 1: someone who's not heavily invested in that world to step
- 4:55Speaker 1: back and say, this is fucking ridiculous what is going on.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Yeah well what stood out for me was the fact
- 5:00Speaker 1: that Ben got involved showed how just much it had
- 5:02Speaker 1: affected Indy that he felt like he needed to come
- 5:05Speaker 1: online and defend his wife because he for the last
- 5:08Speaker 1: couple of years has played a real background character but
- 5:10Speaker 1: you can see more recently he's becoming a lot more
- 5:13Speaker 1: comfortable in front of the camera and again Indy spoke
- 5:16Speaker 1: on our podcast about how He's actually being bullied by
- 5:19Speaker 1: people at his work for being a part of her channel.
- 5:23Speaker 1: I also think it must be really difficult for people's
- 5:25Speaker 1: partners to sit back and watch them copper online and
- 5:28Speaker 1: feel like they can't say anything. It reminded me of
- 5:30Speaker 1: a conversation that I've had with my husband in regards
- 5:32Speaker 1: to these gossip forums because there is an outspoken thread
- 5:36Speaker 1: on there which we get spoken about quite a lot.
- 5:38Speaker 1: And it's good to have someone who's removed from the
- 5:41Speaker 1: situation just saying that these people basically have no lives
- 5:44Speaker 1: and nothing better to do and how ridiculous it is.
- 5:46Speaker 1: And I also... think that he brought up a really
- 5:49Speaker 1: important point, which is around the anonymous nature of a
- 5:52Speaker 1: lot of these forums and also now Facebook groups. So
- 5:56Speaker 1: even in our Facebook group, there is a feature where
- 5:58Speaker 1: you can anonymously create a post, but usually if you
- 6:03Speaker 1: respond to it, your name is visible.
- 6:05Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:06Speaker 1: And so now you can create an anonymous alias to
- 6:08Speaker 1: comment in there, which I'm wondering if we can turn
- 6:10Speaker 1: off because I do feel like the ability to anonymously
- 6:15Speaker 1: post at all is actually having a really detrimental impact
- 6:19Speaker 1: on our Facebook community. I don't like it. And I
- 6:21Speaker 1: really think at the end of the day, if you
- 6:22Speaker 1: have an opinion to share, you should be willing to
- 6:24Speaker 1: share your name and face to it. Like, Obviously, we
- 6:27Speaker 1: speak about influencer culture and we're happy to put our
- 6:29Speaker 1: face and name to the comments that we make because
- 6:31Speaker 1: we stand by those comments. Yeah. Now, Indy Clinton isn't
- 6:34Speaker 1: the only influencer who's opened up about the detrimental effect
- 6:38Speaker 1: anonymous troll comments have had on her this week. So
- 6:41Speaker 1: Zoe Haig, who is the sister of Molly May, shared
- 6:44Speaker 1: a troll comment that she received about one of her
- 6:46Speaker 1: selfies on a YouTube channel. Let's throw to what she said.
- 6:49Speaker 4: I get comments like this, like a fair amount, and
- 6:53Speaker 4: they don't normally bother me. Bloody hell, face popped up.
- 6:57Speaker 4: Give me a shot. Influence Live is not for you. Honestly,
- 7:01Speaker 4: comments like that never, ever, ever, ever bother me. I
- 7:04Speaker 4: don't know why this one just did. I think it's
- 7:05Speaker 4: because I'm not feeling great. And like, I feel like
- 7:07Speaker 4: I don't look my best. I would never even reply
- 7:09Speaker 4: to a comment like that, nor leave it. But I
- 7:11Speaker 4: just said, great, thanks for ruining my day. Because I
- 7:12Speaker 4: don't want people like that to think they can just
- 7:15Speaker 4: get away with saying stuff.
- 7:17Speaker 1: It was so hard to watch her cry on YouTube.
- 7:19Speaker 1: But I'm actually glad that she did share this because
- 7:22Speaker 1: it really shows the reality of What happens when you
- 7:26Speaker 1: send one of these ridiculous comments? Because I'm sure the
- 7:29Speaker 1: person just shot the message off, not even thinking about it.
- 7:32Speaker 1: It was probably misplaced aggression. I always think there is
- 7:35Speaker 1: a place to critique influencers' behavior, but I have never
- 7:37Speaker 1: understood why anyone thinks it's their right to comment on
- 7:41Speaker 1: anyone's appearance. It is utterly disgusting. I just can't even
- 7:44Speaker 1: comprehend someone sitting there and thinking... that's an okay thing
- 7:49Speaker 1: to do. I mean, it's absolutely disgusting. Who cares what
- 7:52Speaker 1: she looks like? I mean, she's a beautiful girl anyway,
- 7:54Speaker 1: so it just shows how ridiculous it all is. Now,
- 7:56Speaker 1: Zoe went on to share her thoughts about anonymous sites
- 7:59Speaker 1: like Tattle Life, who speak about not only her, but
- 8:01Speaker 1: her sister on a daily basis. Here's what she said.
- 8:04Speaker 4: Obviously, I know it is a troll account because I'm
- 8:06Speaker 4: saying things like influencer life isn't for you. You don't
- 8:09Speaker 4: have to look a certain way to be an influencer. Obviously,
- 8:11Speaker 4: I don't look like a lot of influencers. I didn't
- 8:14Speaker 4: get into this influencing life because I looked a certain
- 8:17Speaker 4: way it's not about how you look whenever I do
- 8:19Speaker 4: see comments like that I would honestly pay so much
- 8:21Speaker 4: money like all these horrible forms of people being horrible
- 8:24Speaker 4: about everyone I would pay so much money like probably
- 8:27Speaker 4: every single penny that I own to see who they
- 8:30Speaker 4: were to like line them all up against each other
- 8:32Speaker 4: and be like oh that's the sort of person that
- 8:34Speaker 4: like comments horrible stuff or that is really horrible about
- 8:38Speaker 4: other people because I just can't picture the sort of
- 8:40Speaker 4: person that is like yeah it could be anyone literally
- 8:42Speaker 4: could be someone that you're friends with or someone that
- 8:44Speaker 4: you're passing the street and they're like making horrible comments online.
- 8:48Speaker 1: Again, I really think that if you're going to share
- 8:50Speaker 1: an anonymous comment about someone, particularly when you're picking apart
- 8:53Speaker 1: their appearance, you might be brave enough to share a
- 8:55Speaker 1: photo of what you look like and also your name. Okay,
- 8:59Speaker 1: so hello and welcome to my YouTube channel. For those
- 9:02Speaker 1: of you who do not know who I am, my
- 9:04Speaker 1: name is Brittany Saunders. After pulling the pin on her
- 9:08Speaker 1: YouTube career four years ago, Brittany Saunders has shocked fans
- 9:11Speaker 1: by making a dramatic return. The much-loved OG influencer turned
- 9:16Speaker 1: business mogul has vowed to revamp her channel and lifted
- 9:19Speaker 1: the lid on why she quit the platform. So all
- 9:22Speaker 1: feels right in the world now that Brit is back
- 9:24Speaker 1: on YouTube. I was really excited to see her make
- 9:26Speaker 1: this grand return and I was really intrigued to see
- 9:29Speaker 1: at what capacity she would be returning in because when
- 9:32Speaker 1: she started her channel, she was posting four to five
- 9:36Speaker 1: times a week and obviously they were blog style videos.
- 9:39Speaker 1: It was all about her life. And I instantly noticed
- 9:42Speaker 1: when I clicked on her channel that she has renamed it.
- 9:45Speaker 1: So when she first launched in 2011, it was called
- 9:48Speaker 1: Brittany Lee Saunders. For some reason back then, it was
- 9:51Speaker 1: very in vogue to go by your full name, including
- 9:54Speaker 1: your middle name. I mean, Steph Clare Smith and Olivia
- 9:56Speaker 1: Molly Rogers are still doing it. Yeah, I suppose it's
- 9:58Speaker 1: because their last names are quite similar. common. So maybe
- 10:01Speaker 1: someone already had the other handle. I also think the
- 10:03Speaker 1: creators did it to stand out and to have a
- 10:06Speaker 1: unique element. Now, as of 2025, Brit's channel is now
- 10:09Speaker 1: known as Britney Saunders Fate the Label. So It's very
- 10:13Speaker 1: clear to see that her return to YouTube is a
- 10:15Speaker 1: business decision. And a smart one at that. Yeah, she
- 10:18Speaker 1: has spent 10 years cultivating this following. So why not
- 10:21Speaker 1: tap back into this market, particularly when you own your
- 10:24Speaker 1: own clothing brand? It just makes sense. There's no point
- 10:26Speaker 1: in letting a huge platform like this just die and
- 10:29Speaker 1: lay dormant because it's such a waste. Now, Britt's first
- 10:32Speaker 1: video back was entitled Why I Quit and Why I'm Back.
- 10:35Speaker 1: And at the time of recording, it's notched up 54,000 views.
- 10:39Speaker 1: To me, that sounds quite low considering she has a
- 10:42Speaker 1: million subscribers, but I'm guessing it's because she hasn't been
- 10:45Speaker 1: on the platform for four years and the algorithm is
- 10:47Speaker 1: really punishing her at the moment. Well, it's such a
- 10:49Speaker 1: relief that she actually hit 54,000 views because she joked
- 10:52Speaker 1: that if she didn't reach at least 10,000 views, she
- 10:55Speaker 1: would be retiring straight away again. Now, the video was
- 10:59Speaker 1: filmed in her office and she had her large warehouse
- 11:02Speaker 1: visible in the background. And this video was a very
- 11:05Speaker 1: clever mix of a trip down memory lane and also
- 11:08Speaker 1: an update on what she's been up to. I really
- 11:11Speaker 1: liked what she did with this video because it was
- 11:13Speaker 1: really nostalgic. She opened up with vision of her first
- 11:16Speaker 1: YouTube video from back in 2011. So it was an
- 11:19Speaker 1: 18-year-old Brit explaining that she loved makeup and skincare and
- 11:22Speaker 1: thought that she may as well give the whole YouTube
- 11:24Speaker 1: thing a crack. Britt seemed to be very mindful that
- 11:27Speaker 1: this might be the first time that a lot of
- 11:29Speaker 1: her OG followers who only followed her on YouTube are
- 11:32Speaker 1: seeing her again in four years. And she said that
- 11:35Speaker 1: she always felt like they might've been angry at her
- 11:38Speaker 1: for leaving. And she also knew that some of her
- 11:41Speaker 1: most recent fans might've been unaware that she was a
- 11:44Speaker 1: full-blown YouTuber for 10 years. So she decided to share
- 11:47Speaker 1: a montage of old videos. And the ones that I
- 11:51Speaker 1: were fascinated to see were her on brand trips because
- 11:53Speaker 1: she's been very outspoken in the last year about how
- 11:57Speaker 1: her brand Fate is pushing back on offering influencer trips.
- 12:01Speaker 1: So they did something quite revolutionary and they offered everyday
- 12:05Speaker 1: customers a sort of influencer inspired trip. So she was
- 12:09Speaker 1: really giving back to her community. And it's interesting to
- 12:12Speaker 1: see some of these influencer brand trips that she was
- 12:14Speaker 1: treated to back in the day. So they range from
- 12:17Speaker 1: going to Los Angeles with Tarte Cosmetics to going to
- 12:20Speaker 1: the Hayman Islands. And in one of the clips from 2016,
- 12:23Speaker 1: Britt showed her followers that not only was she gifted
- 12:26Speaker 1: an iPad on one of these trips, but also an
- 12:28Speaker 1: Apple Watch. And in 2016, and I suppose still now,
- 12:31Speaker 1: they were the must-haves. That would have set the company
- 12:34Speaker 1: back a lot of money, particularly to give it to
- 12:36Speaker 1: not only Britt, but all of the influencers that were
- 12:38Speaker 1: on the trip. And she was saying that that time
- 12:40Speaker 1: in her life didn't even feel real. And it was
- 12:43Speaker 1: actually during one of these influencer trips that she realized
- 12:46Speaker 1: that she was more intrigued by how the companies were
- 12:48Speaker 1: working behind the scenes and she often spent a lot
- 12:51Speaker 1: of time talking to the team and trying to understand
- 12:54Speaker 1: how the business worked and also the perspective of why
- 12:58Speaker 1: they would send influencers on these extravagant trips. Now, this
- 13:01Speaker 1: of course led her to starting her own clothing company, Fate,
- 13:04Speaker 1: in 2017. And at the time, Britt admitted that when
- 13:07Speaker 1: she launched the fashion brand, she didn't really think much
- 13:10Speaker 1: of it. Because if you do cast your mind back,
- 13:12Speaker 1: a lot of influencers were just slapping their names on
- 13:14Speaker 1: things and doing it as a bit of a cash grab.
- 13:17Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:17Speaker 1: She said she felt like it just seemed to be
- 13:19Speaker 1: the obvious step for her as an influencer to start
- 13:22Speaker 1: a brand. And she said that she had no idea
- 13:25Speaker 1: how to actually start a business. Yeah. It's funny because
- 13:28Speaker 1: it seems like for Brit, She was the type of
- 13:31Speaker 1: person that would just follow what the trend was. So
- 13:34Speaker 1: I remember hearing in an interview that she said she
- 13:36Speaker 1: didn't even like makeup or wasn't particularly good at it,
- 13:39Speaker 1: but launched a makeup channel because that's what everyone was
- 13:41Speaker 1: doing at the time. It is ironic that this brand
- 13:44Speaker 1: that she didn't think much of ended up growing so
- 13:47Speaker 1: big and becoming her number one passion and actually led
- 13:50Speaker 1: to her quitting YouTube. Yeah, I mean, it's happened for
- 13:52Speaker 1: quite a lot of influencers. I mean, the one that
- 13:54Speaker 1: springs to mind is Shani Grimmon. She used to be
- 13:56Speaker 1: massive on YouTube at the same time Brit was. And
- 13:59Speaker 1: she also has followed in Brit's footsteps. She launched her
- 14:02Speaker 1: own swimwear company. She's recently got a warehouse. So it
- 14:06Speaker 1: is really cool to see these OG influencers doing so
- 14:09Speaker 1: well for themselves. But they always seem to go back
- 14:12Speaker 1: to YouTube. I'm hoping the same will happen with Sharni Grimm.
- 14:15Speaker 1: And I know she's TikTok vlogging, but it's just not
- 14:17Speaker 1: the same as the long form content. I think Brit
- 14:19Speaker 1: is also very mindful that she wants to be seen
- 14:21Speaker 1: as one of the people. She doesn't want to be
- 14:23Speaker 1: seen as this influencer person. who was living this lavish
- 14:25Speaker 1: lifestyle because she also pointed out that one of the
- 14:28Speaker 1: reasons she quit YouTube four years ago is because she
- 14:31Speaker 1: felt like she was turning into a sellout. She said
- 14:33Speaker 1: that she was no longer interested in spruiking products and
- 14:36Speaker 1: she didn't feel like she was being authentic to herself.
- 14:39Speaker 1: That is really interesting because- As you said earlier, the
- 14:42Speaker 1: channel is now labeled Brittany Saunders, Fate the Label. So
- 14:46Speaker 1: it clearly was a business decision to return to the platform.
- 14:49Speaker 1: So I'm looking forward to seeing how she actually promotes
- 14:51Speaker 1: the brand to her followers because I know she is
- 14:55Speaker 1: very clever with marketing and she's not going to just
- 14:57Speaker 1: be like, oh, this try on haul, use my code, blah, blah, blah.
- 15:01Speaker 1: She is going to be revolutionary with how she does this. Well,
- 15:03Speaker 1: she's committed to putting out a video a week and
- 15:06Speaker 1: she said that it will be behind the scenes of
- 15:08Speaker 1: her business, similar to what she's sharing on TikTok and YouTube,
- 15:11Speaker 1: just a longer format where I'm guessing that she'll be
- 15:13Speaker 1: putting a lot of her personality across and not just
- 15:16Speaker 1: be sharing about all the highs. I'm sure we'll get
- 15:17Speaker 1: a little glimpse on the lows. Well, it's super clever.
- 15:20Speaker 1: It's literally like a TV show of what's going on
- 15:23Speaker 1: behind the scenes at a business and People are going
- 15:26Speaker 1: to get invested. They're going to want to support the brand.
- 15:28Speaker 1: I think it's an incredible idea. There was a really
- 15:30Speaker 1: big reaction to her returning to YouTube. A lot of
- 15:33Speaker 1: her OG followers were saying that they were so excited
- 15:36Speaker 1: and that they've missed her. And they called her out
- 15:38Speaker 1: on the fact that she has privated the majority of
- 15:41Speaker 1: her videos. So she had thousands of videos on the
- 15:44Speaker 1: back channel and a few of her followers said, oh
- 15:46Speaker 1: my God, I love going back and binge watching them.
- 15:49Speaker 1: So she now has the idea that she'll be releasing
- 15:52Speaker 1: these new videos a week, but she'll also be re-releasing
- 15:56Speaker 1: an old video. And we've seen a lot of YouTubers
- 16:00Speaker 1: do this, but they've privated a lot of their videos.
- 16:02Speaker 1: And I think it comes down not just to her,
- 16:04Speaker 1: but generally for damage control, because people keep finding stuff
- 16:09Speaker 1: that was said on the internet 10 years ago, taking
- 16:11Speaker 1: it out of context or not. taking it for the
- 16:13Speaker 1: time that it was set in. Yeah, a lot of
- 16:15Speaker 1: things haven't aged well over the last decade. So I
- 16:17Speaker 1: can see why she has done that. It is a
- 16:19Speaker 1: smart business move to protect herself. Yeah, and obviously she
- 16:23Speaker 1: could now cherry pick what videos she wants to put
- 16:25Speaker 1: out there. She's got enough staff to check over whether
- 16:28Speaker 1: it's okay to put out. I love that she has
- 16:30Speaker 1: decided to do her own reruns. Again, another fabulous idea
- 16:34Speaker 1: that I think a lot of influencers are going to
- 16:35Speaker 1: be copying. Yeah, unfortunately though, her classic catchphrase, peace out doggies,
- 16:40Speaker 1: will not be making a return. which upset a lot
- 16:42Speaker 1: of her followers. So you never know, they might put
- 16:44Speaker 1: the pressure on her. Oh, I think we can probably
- 16:47Speaker 1: move on from that one.
- 16:50Speaker 4: Good morning, everyone.
- 16:51Speaker 2: I feel so nervous.
- 16:53Speaker 1: Fitness influencer, Rachel Dillon and Sweat co-founder, Toby Pierce have
- 16:57Speaker 1: announced they're expecting their first child together. Now for Toby,
- 17:01Speaker 1: this is his second child. He already shares a five-year-old
- 17:04Speaker 1: daughter with his former fiance and business partner, Kayla had
- 17:08Speaker 1: seen us. This is the third influencer prediction that we've
- 17:11Speaker 1: got right in the space of three weeks. This is
- 17:13Speaker 1: a lot of peacocking at the moment. Yes. The thing is,
- 17:16Speaker 1: I need to go listen back to that episode because
- 17:19Speaker 1: I'm a little bit nervous that maybe we didn't include
- 17:21Speaker 1: it in the recording because I definitely had it on
- 17:24Speaker 1: my list. I think this was on our list, but
- 17:26Speaker 1: we didn't want to include it in the episode because
- 17:29Speaker 1: I think it's a bit inappropriate to make guesses about
- 17:31Speaker 1: people's fertility journeys and whether they're going to get pregnant.
- 17:34Speaker 1: But in saying that, I think we actually did end
- 17:36Speaker 1: up including it. So I need to go back and
- 17:39Speaker 1: listen to it. Well, it was beautiful news. And the
- 17:41Speaker 1: couple broke it by sharing an adorable family video with
- 17:45Speaker 1: Anna very much front and center, which I loved. Their
- 17:48Speaker 1: sausage dog, P, even made an appearance. So the video
- 17:51Speaker 1: showed behind the scenes of a pregnancy shoot. And of course,
- 17:55Speaker 1: with any influencer pregnancy announcement, I think it's mandatory for
- 17:58Speaker 1: everyone to wear matching outfits. And have vibes of a
- 18:01Speaker 1: Levi commercial. It was very similar to M. Davies. Yeah.
- 18:04Speaker 1: So Rachel wore unbuttoned jeans and a white sports bra
- 18:08Speaker 1: while Toby wore a white long sleeve shirt and jeans
- 18:10Speaker 1: and Anna wore a very cute white dress. I want
- 18:12Speaker 1: to know how influencers managed to get their partners to
- 18:15Speaker 1: be involved in these elaborate photo shoots because I found
- 18:18Speaker 1: it difficult enough to get Reese to just be in
- 18:20Speaker 1: a photo. Is it the dollar signs? I mean, I
- 18:22Speaker 1: actually had to take my pregnancy announcement photo again because
- 18:27Speaker 1: I somehow talked my husband into wearing Christmas pajamas. Matching ones. Well,
- 18:31Speaker 1: matching ones. Amy originally took the photo. And when he
- 18:34Speaker 1: saw them, he's like, oh my God, I'm going to
- 18:36Speaker 1: get so much dick from my friends from this. Can
- 18:38Speaker 1: we please take a photo in normal clothes? Maybe you
- 18:41Speaker 1: have to drop the original photo in like our Facebook
- 18:44Speaker 1: community or a private post. It was actually very cute.
- 18:47Speaker 1: Now in this video, Anna is hugging Rachel and Toby.
- 18:51Speaker 1: She's also seen kissing Rachel's bump and holding up the
- 18:54Speaker 1: pregnancy test. And I got very confused because there was
- 18:57Speaker 1: large letters across it, which said sister. And at first
- 19:00Speaker 1: I was like, oh my God, are they using this
- 19:02Speaker 1: to announce the gender? Are they saying that this is
- 19:04Speaker 1: Anna's sister? I think they're just saying that Anna is
- 19:07Speaker 1: a sister. Yeah, well, I looked at the comment section
- 19:10Speaker 1: and no one was leaving pink love hearts or there
- 19:12Speaker 1: was no mention of a baby girl. So I was like, okay,
- 19:14Speaker 1: it must just be because she's going to be a
- 19:16Speaker 1: big sister. But it threw me. I did see a
- 19:18Speaker 1: lot of references to the fact that she's going to
- 19:20Speaker 1: be a big sister. I actually saw something that Dr. Golley,
- 19:23Speaker 1: who's a pediatrician, quite a famous pediatrician. We all know Dr.
- 19:26Speaker 1: Golley now. Yeah, we do. I think it was actually
- 19:28Speaker 1: on Steph Clare Smith's podcast. She was talking about how Dr.
- 19:31Speaker 1: Golley had advised her when she was telling Harvey that
- 19:34Speaker 1: she was having a baby to make it sound really
- 19:37Speaker 1: special that he's going to be a big brother. Oh, okay.
- 19:40Speaker 1: So I'm wondering if they've had advice there. Well, this
- 19:43Speaker 1: baby is due in the middle of the year. So
- 19:45Speaker 1: the couple captioned the post simply, coming July. And this
- 19:49Speaker 1: news didn't come... as a complete surprise to Rachel's followers
- 19:52Speaker 1: because last week she shared an Instagram story saying, I
- 19:56Speaker 1: feel so blessed. I get so excited to come home.
- 19:58Speaker 1: They just returned from another trip. And she wrote back
- 20:00Speaker 1: to my routine and back to a very exciting work
- 20:03Speaker 1: year for 2025. I have so much to share with
- 20:06Speaker 1: all of you. Now, due to that last line, a
- 20:08Speaker 1: lot of Rachel's followers speculated that she was set to
- 20:11Speaker 1: make a pregnancy announcement. I mean, it's terrible because she
- 20:14Speaker 1: did get married last year. And I feel like as
- 20:16Speaker 1: soon as influencers get married, everyone's like, when are they
- 20:19Speaker 1: having a baby? And then as soon as they have
- 20:20Speaker 1: a baby, everyone's like, when are they having a second one?
- 20:22Speaker 1: I hate it. Isn't that just life in general?
- 20:24Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 20:24Speaker 1: Now, this post was, of course, inundated with congratulations from
- 20:28Speaker 1: the Blue Tick Brigade. So Rachel's sister, who created a
- 20:31Speaker 1: bit of a stir when she sang at her wedding, wrote...
- 20:33Speaker 1: Our sweet baby, you are so loved already and your
- 20:36Speaker 1: auntie is already so obsessed with you. Counting down the
- 20:38Speaker 1: days until I get to meet you earthside. Apologies in
- 20:42Speaker 1: advance for the 50,000 convos you're going to have to
- 20:44Speaker 1: listen to of your mum and I while you grow
- 20:47Speaker 1: in her tummy. Her bridesmaid, Isabel Mathers, who copped a
- 20:50Speaker 1: lot of flack over what she wore to Rachel's rehearsal dinner, wrote,
- 20:53Speaker 1: words can't explain my excitement. I love you both so much.
- 20:56Speaker 1: You're going to be the best mum. And Grace Beverly wrote,
- 20:59Speaker 1: oh my gosh, congratulations. So happy for you both.
- 21:02Speaker 3: Completely non-biased opinion, Australian Open is the best time of
- 21:05Speaker 3: the tennis season and we are back.
- 21:07Speaker 1: The Australian Open is currently in full swing in Melbourne
- 21:10Speaker 1: and although I don't know all of the top seeds
- 21:12Speaker 1: names like I used to, my appetite for the tournament
- 21:15Speaker 1: has been renewed by the self-proclaimed tennis wags. Now while
- 21:19Speaker 1: the term wag used to be considered demeaning, many of
- 21:21Speaker 1: the wives and girlfriends currently on the tour are reclaiming
- 21:24Speaker 1: the title and having some fun with it. God, how
- 21:27Speaker 1: has it been a year since the Australian Open? You
- 21:29Speaker 1: and I went last year. That does not seem a
- 21:31Speaker 1: year ago. I'm having FOMO because literally every influencer and
- 21:35Speaker 1: their dog seems to be there and I just want
- 21:36Speaker 1: to be there people watching. Yeah, you keep screenshotting different
- 21:39Speaker 1: influencers at the event and sending them to me and
- 21:41Speaker 1: being like, I want to be there. I know because
- 21:43Speaker 1: I just love the tennis. I'm getting all these Snapchat
- 21:45Speaker 1: memories from seven years ago when we went to the
- 21:48Speaker 1: Open and we were really invested and we were going
- 21:50Speaker 1: to all the players practice matches. Well, not all of them.
- 21:54Speaker 1: We went to one practice match. Yeah. And it was when, like,
- 21:57Speaker 1: we love Nadal. I'm so sad that he doesn't play anymore.
- 22:00Speaker 1: But this is why I'm more interested in the Wags now,
- 22:02Speaker 1: because I don't really know any of the big players.
- 22:05Speaker 1: And if there was a queen of the Wags, it
- 22:06Speaker 1: would definitely be Morgan Riddle.
- 22:08Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 22:08Speaker 1: We spoke a bit about her last year on the
- 22:10Speaker 1: podcast because she made headlines when, was it she had
- 22:14Speaker 1: to eat Vegemite?
- 22:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 22:15Speaker 1: So she dates US tennis player, Taylor Fritz, who is
- 22:19Speaker 1: incredibly hot. Like he is probably the pinup, I think,
- 22:22Speaker 1: of the tennis world at the moment. Has he got
- 22:24Speaker 1: anti-erotic vibes from back in the day? He does actually.
- 22:27Speaker 1: I mean, he's brunette, but yeah, he's very good looking.
- 22:30Speaker 1: I'd recommend checking out his games. But basically she said
- 22:34Speaker 1: that if he got into the quarterfinals, she would eat
- 22:37Speaker 1: a jar of Vegemite. And this ended up being really
- 22:40Speaker 1: funny because I think she went live on her Instagram
- 22:44Speaker 1: and she could only manage a spoonful and almost vomited.
- 22:47Speaker 1: I mean, it'd be pretty hard to eat a whole
- 22:48Speaker 1: jar of Vegemite. No. And it's pretty crazy because in
- 22:51Speaker 1: the space of a couple of years, she has been
- 22:53Speaker 1: dubbed the most famous woman in men's tennis. And she
- 22:56Speaker 1: has a massive social media following. She's got half a
- 22:59Speaker 1: million followers on TikTok and they tune in to watch
- 23:02Speaker 1: all of her tennis outfits and also get a glimpse
- 23:05Speaker 1: of what it's like to be on the tour. And
- 23:07Speaker 1: She is always immaculately presented. I can't wait to see
- 23:11Speaker 1: her outfits this year. She has a stylist who pulls
- 23:13Speaker 1: together a lot of her looks and she loves to
- 23:16Speaker 1: dress in theme. It's not Paul Versace, is it? Because
- 23:19Speaker 1: I feel like he is the only stylist in Melbourne
- 23:21Speaker 1: at the moment. No, she has a stylist, I think,
- 23:23Speaker 1: who travels with her. Oh, okay. Because side note, has
- 23:26Speaker 1: anyone noticed that he and Olivia Rogers' appear not to
- 23:29Speaker 1: be friends anymore I'm really upset because I actually can't
- 23:31Speaker 1: see Olivia Rogers content anymore and I was a big
- 23:34Speaker 1: fan of her she ended up blocking the podcast around
- 23:37Speaker 1: the time that we were covering the story about her
- 23:39Speaker 1: ex-husband Justin well she blocked our personal pages no I
- 23:42Speaker 1: think when you block the podcast it automatically blocked our
- 23:45Speaker 1: personal pages I like to think I think she blocked
- 23:48Speaker 1: them as well I was a bit sad about that
- 23:50Speaker 1: but I can't see her content anymore more. It's so
- 23:51Speaker 1: weird when you follow someone for years and then suddenly
- 23:53Speaker 1: you don't see their content and it's like they've fallen
- 23:55Speaker 1: off the face of the earth. So if anything does
- 23:57Speaker 1: happen that we need to report on, please let us know. Well,
- 23:59Speaker 1: she did have a tennis event, but anyway, getting back
- 24:01Speaker 1: to Morgan Riddle, I've really enjoyed watching her updates as
- 24:04Speaker 1: the tennis tournament started to kick off because she actually
- 24:07Speaker 1: spent Christmas in Australia and she's been giving her followers
- 24:10Speaker 1: a glimpse of what actually goes on behind the scenes.
- 24:13Speaker 1: And I always thought that life as a tennis wag
- 24:15Speaker 1: would be really glamorous. And her vlogs have confirmed this
- 24:18Speaker 1: because She revealed that the Australian Open has a gifting
- 24:21Speaker 1: suite for players and their partners.
- 24:24Speaker 3: Most big tournaments have these gifting suites. Kind of makes
- 24:26Speaker 3: it feel like an influencer trip. We're going to do...
- 24:28Speaker 3: A very quick tell of the player gifts I unboxed
- 24:31Speaker 3: from Mecca for my Americans. Mecca is like the Australian
- 24:35Speaker 3: version of Sephora. We've got all sorts of goodies, masks,
- 24:39Speaker 3: dry shampoo. This is one of my favorite products of
- 24:41Speaker 3: all time. If you use this on flights, you will
- 24:43Speaker 3: not break out.
- 24:44Speaker 1: I go through like one a month. Now among her
- 24:46Speaker 1: haul was also a carry-on case from July, as well
- 24:49Speaker 1: as clothing, tennis socks, a ton of expensive skincare and
- 24:53Speaker 1: makeup products. There was one item that stumped her though,
- 24:57Speaker 1: and it was a soft toy echidna.
- 24:59Speaker 3: I don't know what this is, like in real life spiky,
- 25:03Speaker 3: but if any Australians want to tell me what this is,
- 25:06Speaker 3: I literally.
- 25:07Speaker 1: Have no idea. What's a real life spiky? Is she
- 25:10Speaker 1: referring to a porcupine? Because I feel like an echidna
- 25:12Speaker 1: is really the American version of a porcupine. It is
- 25:15Speaker 1: interesting that they didn't pick a koala or a kangaroo.
- 25:18Speaker 1: Maybe they wanted something that was a bit unique, that
- 25:20Speaker 1: didn't get as much airtime. And it is clear that
- 25:22Speaker 1: this has been an educational experience for her because She
- 25:25Speaker 1: had a lot of Australians shocked that she didn't know,
- 25:27Speaker 1: hitting her up saying, this is an echidna. Well, great
- 25:31Speaker 1: for her engagement. I wonder if the Australian Open used
- 25:34Speaker 1: to do this gifting suite before social media. I guess
- 25:37Speaker 1: they would, but maybe not to the extent that they
- 25:39Speaker 1: do it now. It's really interesting because as the partner
- 25:43Speaker 1: of a tennis player, you also get access to all
- 25:45Speaker 1: of the player cafes and you literally get given free
- 25:48Speaker 1: food and drink. And Morgan explained that she is a
- 25:51Speaker 1: huge fan of Australian coffee. She said that American coffee,
- 25:55Speaker 1: tastes like dish water in comparison. She did try Australian
- 25:59Speaker 1: bacon though, and described it as a very unpleasant experience.
- 26:01Speaker 1: So it's made me curious. I mean, I am vegetarian.
- 26:04Speaker 1: I have had bacon before though. What's the difference? There
- 26:07Speaker 1: is a difference because when I went to Utah with
- 26:09Speaker 1: the 36ers, we stayed at a hotel and because it
- 26:13Speaker 1: was a work trip, we had to just eat at
- 26:15Speaker 1: the buffet every day. So unpleasant. And they do have
- 26:19Speaker 1: a different type of bacon. Oh, okay. It kind of
- 26:22Speaker 1: looks like fake bacon. It looks very processed.
- 26:25Speaker 2: All right.
- 26:25Speaker 1: Any Americans, let us know. I also found it quite
- 26:28Speaker 1: fascinating because a lot of the tennis players' partners are
- 26:31Speaker 1: also using the Australian Open as an opportunity to hold
- 26:35Speaker 1: brand launches. So the girlfriend of an Italian tennis player
- 26:38Speaker 1: called Mia Savo, she launched her own tennis-inspired athletic brand.
- 26:43Speaker 1: So she isn't from Melbourne. She's obviously from Italy and
- 26:47Speaker 1: she doesn't have the social media reach that Morgan does.
- 26:49Speaker 1: She only has 5,000 followers, but she invited Morgan as
- 26:53Speaker 1: well as a couple of the other tennis players' girlfriends
- 26:56Speaker 1: along to a launch that she held at a private
- 26:58Speaker 1: tennis club and overlooked a grass tennis court. They even
- 27:01Speaker 1: served tennis teenies. What's a tennis teeny? Well, it's basically
- 27:05Speaker 1: a martini with lychee balls that look like tennis balls.
- 27:08Speaker 1: So it was very, it was very cute. I wonder
- 27:11Speaker 1: how the tennis players feel, though, if they're happy to
- 27:14Speaker 1: share their spotlight like this. Well, I think it's only
- 27:17Speaker 1: fair that if their partner has chosen to travel around
- 27:20Speaker 1: with them on the tour, that they can also continue
- 27:22Speaker 1: to work. And influencing, as much as people don't like it,
- 27:26Speaker 1: it is a genuine job. And a lot of these
- 27:29Speaker 1: women may actually be earning more money than their partners
- 27:32Speaker 1: playing tennis or similar. That's the thing. A lot of
- 27:36Speaker 1: these tennis players' partners... are in fact influencers. And my
- 27:39Speaker 1: TikTok algorithm knows me too well because it has also
- 27:42Speaker 1: introduced me to Paige Loren, who is the girlfriend of
- 27:46Speaker 1: American tennis player Tommy Paul. Now she shares a lot
- 27:49Speaker 1: of similarities with Morgan as not only is she stunning,
- 27:51Speaker 1: but as I said, she also has a huge social
- 27:54Speaker 1: media following. So she also has half a million followers
- 27:57Speaker 1: on TikTok and she shares a lot of lifestyle and
- 28:00Speaker 1: fashion content. And the New York Post has dubbed Paige
- 28:03Speaker 1: as the female Pete Davidson of Because she has had
- 28:06Speaker 1: quite a number of high-profile partners. Who's she been with? Well,
- 28:10Speaker 1: she initially started to grow her following online because she
- 28:13Speaker 1: started dating an NHL hockey player. She then gained even
- 28:17Speaker 1: more followers when she dated Armie Hammer. And she has
- 28:20Speaker 1: also dated country singer Morgan Wallen and also TV personality
- 28:24Speaker 1: Tyler Cameron. I have to say, though, I wouldn't call
- 28:26Speaker 1: it Pete Davidson because Pete Davidson more gets this rap
- 28:30Speaker 1: of being this ugly guy who dates all of these
- 28:32Speaker 1: hot actresses. This woman... is stunning. Yeah, it's not like
- 28:36Speaker 1: she's batting above her average or anything. Okay, you have
- 28:39Speaker 1: to check out this video because Paige shared how she
- 28:42Speaker 1: prepped for her big travel to Australia. Boyfriend is playing
- 28:45Speaker 1: in the Australian Open and I'm about to leave for Australia.
- 28:48Speaker 1: It's a long travel day, so I want to do
- 28:50Speaker 1: a little vlog. I was super confused by this video
- 28:53Speaker 1: because Paige then started to prep food for the flight
- 28:56Speaker 1: and she called it an aeroplane snack. This seems to
- 28:59Speaker 1: be an American thing. Yeah, but it was a full-on
- 29:01Speaker 1: meal and She did have the awareness to point out
- 29:03Speaker 1: that it wasn't normal. So she made a healthy homemade
- 29:06Speaker 1: pasta salad. And then she packed herself a cheese board
- 29:09Speaker 1: in a container. And she described the whole process as self-care.
- 29:13Speaker 1: I'm just glad to see people promoting the fact that
- 29:15Speaker 1: they eat normal things. Like imagine if it was like,
- 29:18Speaker 1: I'm cooking up this ultra healthy meal. Like I love
- 29:21Speaker 1: that she had a cheese board. Yeah, I mean, it
- 29:22Speaker 1: looked delicious. But I want to point out she wasn't
- 29:25Speaker 1: flying cattle class. She was flying first class. So she
- 29:28Speaker 1: had her own little pod. She had access to amazing food.
- 29:31Speaker 1: So I was very confused why she would pack her own.
- 29:34Speaker 1: Maybe it's just because she travels so often that she
- 29:36Speaker 1: doesn't really like the food. Like personally, I mean, I'm
- 29:40Speaker 1: obviously not traveling first class but airplane food always upsets
- 29:43Speaker 1: my stomach I did get upgraded once to business class
- 29:46Speaker 1: and the food was so much better. I have to
- 29:49Speaker 1: say though, if I packed myself a whole cheese board,
- 29:51Speaker 1: I think that would upset my stomach.
- 29:52Speaker 2: True.
- 29:53Speaker 1: Now, unsurprisingly, the flight attendants went above and beyond to
- 29:56Speaker 1: make her feel very comfortable.
- 29:58Speaker 3: We took off and then another, one of the sweetest
- 30:02Speaker 3: men I've ever met in my whole life, literally offered
- 30:04Speaker 3: to make me my bed to sleep.
- 30:06Speaker 1: He was so cute and nice.
- 30:08Speaker 3: I literally could cry.
- 30:10Speaker 1: I wanted to give him the world. He literally, like,
- 30:13Speaker 1: tucked me into bed. I could sob. He was an
- 30:17Speaker 1: angel on this earth. Did she film herself being tucked in? Like,
- 30:20Speaker 1: was this?
- 30:21Speaker 2: Yes.
- 30:22Speaker 1: Oh, God. This was so awkward. I mean, this is
- 30:24Speaker 1: the definition of pretty privilege here. I'm sorry, but those
- 30:27Speaker 1: flight attendants aren't just tucking anyone in. No. This was
- 30:31Speaker 1: an older man who tucked her in. Oh, God. Now,
- 30:34Speaker 1: if there's anyone else I should be following, any more wags,
- 30:37Speaker 1: please let me know because I just love being a
- 30:39Speaker 1: fly on the wall of their life and vicariously living
- 30:41Speaker 1: my dream of being a tennis wag. Well, you've got
- 30:44Speaker 1: your phone in your hand at the moment. So I'm
- 30:45Speaker 1: sure TikTok is listening to every word you're saying and
- 30:48Speaker 1: is going to serve it up in your algorithm. Let's
- 30:51Speaker 1: get into our Friday features. So if I'll kick us off,
- 30:54Speaker 1: my Friday feature is the return of Love Island UK
- 30:58Speaker 1: All Stars. So it is now streaming on Nine Now.
- 31:01Speaker 1: It started on Wednesday and I am so excited because
- 31:06Speaker 1: Ek and Sue is back. Ek and who? And that
- 31:08Speaker 1: means one thing. Davide is definitely returning as a bombshell.
- 31:12Speaker 1: If he comes in as a bombshell, I'm going to
- 31:14Speaker 1: put it out there. This is going to be the
- 31:16Speaker 1: best series of Love Island. All of my favorites are back.
- 31:18Speaker 1: We've got Luke Abish. He is a controversial favorite because
- 31:22Speaker 1: he got a bit of a bad rap in that series.
- 31:24Speaker 1: I thought he was hilarious. I mean, He was told
- 31:26Speaker 1: he was controlling. Yeah, I want to see him without
- 31:28Speaker 1: Gemma because he really locked himself down early with her.
- 31:31Speaker 1: I want to see him be a bit of a player. Well,
- 31:33Speaker 1: he was very respectful because it did get brought up
- 31:35Speaker 1: on the show. What would you do if Gemma was
- 31:37Speaker 1: brought in? And he said he would actually leave because
- 31:40Speaker 1: he would want her to have a great experience there
- 31:42Speaker 1: without him. And I think that people wanted to try
- 31:45Speaker 1: and get the dirt about her. And he was very respectful,
- 31:47Speaker 1: didn't say anything. People are saying that he seems to
- 31:50Speaker 1: have a crush on Ekansu. I haven't watched it yet
- 31:52Speaker 1: because we are pre-recording this on Wednesday before the episode
- 31:55Speaker 1: has dropped. I've only seen a few little features on Instagram,
- 31:59Speaker 1: but people are like, oh yeah, he's definitely keen on Ekansu,
- 32:02Speaker 1: but doesn't want to say anything. I'm a little concerned
- 32:04Speaker 1: because there have been reports in The Sun that Ekansu
- 32:06Speaker 1: only agreed to come back on the proviso that Davide
- 32:10Speaker 1: does not make a return. I'm hoping that's bullshit and
- 32:14Speaker 1: that they're trying to just not be ultra obvious because
- 32:17Speaker 1: last year when the All Stars series aired for the
- 32:20Speaker 1: first time, it was quite a surprise to see Love
- 32:23Speaker 1: Island bringing back people's exes. It felt very much reminiscent
- 32:26Speaker 1: of Ex on the Beach. It was a great new
- 32:29Speaker 1: element though. Have you seen they've brought back Casey for
- 32:32Speaker 1: a third year in a row? He was on I
- 32:34Speaker 1: think the 2024 series, he then returned for the All-Star
- 32:38Speaker 1: series and he's back again. I'm not interested in seeing him.
- 32:41Speaker 1: I know you liked him on TikTok. Oh, that's why
- 32:44Speaker 1: he's back because he's super popular on TikTok. That must
- 32:47Speaker 1: be why. There were some people I didn't recognize. Like, again,
- 32:50Speaker 1: we are pre-recording this. I haven't actually sat down, but
- 32:52Speaker 1: I'm like, who is that? And who is that on Instagram?
- 32:55Speaker 1: I thought that Curtis was Andrew. Oh, Andrew. Yes, with Tash.
- 32:59Speaker 1: I got so confused because I'm like, aren't he and
- 33:01Speaker 1: Tash still together? But Curtis. Curtis has actually been partnered
- 33:04Speaker 1: up with Ek and Sue. So Ek and Sue picked him,
- 33:06Speaker 1: which really surprised me. I cannot see the two of
- 33:08Speaker 1: them getting along at all. See, I can because he
- 33:11Speaker 1: and Maura didn't make sense. But then they kind of worked.
- 33:15Speaker 1: I mean, they were together off the show for a
- 33:18Speaker 1: little while. Maybe he wants a very strong woman like
- 33:20Speaker 1: Ek and Sue. I mean, I can't see Ek and
- 33:22Speaker 1: Sue sticking with the first person that she picked. She's
- 33:24Speaker 1: going to be making out with someone on the terrace. God,
- 33:27Speaker 1: if only they could get Molly Mae and Tommy Fury
- 33:29Speaker 1: on there. Like how much money do you think they'd
- 33:31Speaker 1: have to pay to get them back on the show?
- 33:33Speaker 1: I don't think there's any money in the world because
- 33:35Speaker 1: Molly Mae has worked very hard to distance herself from,
- 33:38Speaker 1: I suppose, the perceived tackiness of the show and be
- 33:41Speaker 1: seen as this celebrity in her own right. Imagine though
- 33:44Speaker 1: if she popped up as a bombshell. She won't. There's
- 33:46Speaker 1: no way in hell that she will. Now Soph, what's
- 33:48Speaker 1: your Friday feature? So I want to talk about my
- 33:51Speaker 1: recent Christmas present I received and it is a Smeg mixer.
- 33:55Speaker 1: So I was shocked to receive this because I knew
- 33:57Speaker 1: that we were giving Amy a Smeg mixer for Christmas
- 34:01Speaker 1: and my husband's family were very generous and gifted me one. Luckily,
- 34:06Speaker 1: they're different colors. So I've got the white, Amy's got
- 34:08Speaker 1: the black, you've got the pink. Imagine leaving them around
- 34:10Speaker 1: each other's houses and getting confused.
- 34:12Speaker 3: I know.
- 34:13Speaker 1: Now, I haven't used it yet because I feel a
- 34:15Speaker 1: lot of pressure because you, Kate, are the queen of
- 34:18Speaker 1: the kitchen. Thank you. I, growing up, very much loved cooking,
- 34:21Speaker 1: but I was your sous chef. And I want to
- 34:23Speaker 1: learn how to make your cinnamon scroll. So I've asked
- 34:26Speaker 1: for the recipe, but you have told me that there's
- 34:27Speaker 1: a few tricks with this recipe, adding extra butter. So
- 34:31Speaker 1: I will have to share how I go over the weekend.
- 34:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 34:35Speaker 1: So the recipe is from Ambitious Kitchen, but I actually
- 34:39Speaker 1: tried to make it, I think three or four times
- 34:41Speaker 1: before actually mastering it.
- 34:42Speaker 3: Really?
- 34:43Speaker 1: So I found that the dough was too dry, so
- 34:47Speaker 1: I add extra butter. I'm actually very nervous now to
- 34:50Speaker 1: hear that this has taken you quite a number of
- 34:52Speaker 1: attempts because my husband was like, could you please make
- 34:54Speaker 1: cinnamon scrolls? I love Kate's cinnamon scrolls. Oh, does he
- 34:56Speaker 1: actually like them? Yeah, he likes them. I need to
- 34:58Speaker 1: cook them again. I hope because the machine is so
- 35:01Speaker 1: aesthetically pleasing, it will somehow make my cooking better. I
- 35:04Speaker 1: hate to tell you, but it won't. Okay. Well, at
- 35:06Speaker 1: least I don't have to get a sore arm from mixing.
- 35:08Speaker 1: I think that is all we have time for today.
- 35:10Speaker 1: Thank you so much for joining us for this episode.
- 35:13Speaker 1: If you have enjoyed it, could you please make sure
- 35:15Speaker 1: you are subscribed on Apple Podcasts and also Spotify? And
- 35:19Speaker 1: please make my week. Leave us a lovely review. Don't
- 35:22Speaker 1: be an anonymous troll. This episode was recorded on the
- 35:26Speaker 1: traditional land of the Kaurna people of the Adelaide Plains.
- 35:28Speaker 1: We pay respect to elders past and present.
