- 0:00the house of prayer and the fervent prayer of
- 0:03a righteous prayer 20 god correct me without
- 0:10letting me run from you a prayer for humility
- 0:14correction and restoration this prayer is for
- 0:18you if god has been confronting something in
- 0:21your life Maybe through his word. Maybe through
- 0:24conviction. Maybe through circumstances. Maybe
- 0:28through someone who told you something you did
- 0:30not want to hear. Maybe you recognize that an
- 0:34attitude needs to change. A boundary needs to
- 0:38return. An apology needs to be made. A habit
- 0:42needs to stop. Pride needs to come down. Or maybe
- 0:46you are walking through consequences from decisions
- 0:49you wish you could change. And somewhere inside,
- 0:53you have started wondering, God, are you angry
- 0:56with me? Have you rejected me? Did I lose my
- 1:00purpose? Is everything over? If that is where
- 1:04you are today, this prayer is for you. Hebrews
- 1:0812 .6 says, the Lord disciplines the one he loves.
- 1:13And Romans 8 .1 declares, there is therefore
- 1:17now. no condemnation to them which are in Christ
- 1:20Jesus. So today, we are not praying from condemnation.
- 1:25We are praying from relationship. Let us pray.
- 1:29Lord, search my heart. And if there is something
- 1:33in me that needs correction, correct me. If my
- 1:37attitude needs correction, correct me. If my
- 1:41words need correction, correct me. If my decisions
- 1:45need correction, correct me. If my relationships
- 1:49need correction, correct me. If my priorities
- 1:52need correction, correct me. If my ambition needs
- 1:56correction, correct me. If my pride needs correction,
- 2:01correct me. If the way I handle authority needs
- 2:05correction, correct me. If the way I respond
- 2:09when I am angry, disappointed, hurt, or misunderstood
- 2:13needs correction, correct me. But God... When
- 2:17you correct me, don't let me run from you. Don't
- 2:21let shame convince me that you no longer love
- 2:24me. Don't let embarrassment make me hide. Don't
- 2:28let pride make me defend what your spirit is
- 2:31trying to change. Don't let disappointment make
- 2:34me interpret your correction as abandonment.
- 2:38And don't let condemnation speak louder than
- 2:41your grace. Teach me to recognize the difference
- 2:44between your conviction and the voice of condemnation
- 2:49condemnation tells me you failed therefore you
- 2:54are finished but your correction tells me this
- 2:58must change because i am not finished with you
- 3:02so god give me a teachable heart give me the
- 3:06humility to say i was wrong give me the humility
- 3:11to apologize give me the humility to receive
- 3:14accountability Give me the humility to listen
- 3:18before defending myself. Give me the humility
- 3:22to ask, God, is there something here you want
- 3:26me to hear? If you send someone to correct me,
- 3:30give me discernment. Human beings can misunderstand.
- 3:34People can accuse falsely. People can speak from
- 3:38wrong motives. So give me wisdom to test what
- 3:41I hear. But don't let somebody's imperfect delivery
- 3:45make me reject the truth you are trying to show
- 3:49me. If there is truth in the correction, help
- 3:52me receive it. God, protect me from becoming
- 3:57so successful that nobody can tell me the truth.
- 4:01Protect me from becoming so powerful that people
- 4:04become afraid to correct me. Protect me from
- 4:07becoming so spiritual that I believe I cannot
- 4:10be wrong. Protect me from becoming so defensive
- 4:15that every correction feels like an attack. Protect
- 4:19me from surrounding myself only with people who
- 4:22agree with me. Give me people who love me enough
- 4:26to tell me the truth and give me the maturity
- 4:30to listen. God, if I'm walking through consequences
- 4:33from my own decisions, give me grace. If I need
- 4:37to repair something, show me how. If I need to
- 4:41rebuild trust, give me patience. If I need to
- 4:45accept responsibility, give me courage. If I
- 4:49need to make restitution, give me integrity.
- 4:53If I need to apologize, break my pride. If I
- 4:57need to change, give me discipline. And if there
- 5:01are consequences I cannot immediately escape,
- 5:04teach me through them. Don't let me waste the
- 5:07correction. Don't let me spend the entire season
- 5:11asking you only to remove the consequence while
- 5:14refusing to learn what you are trying to teach
- 5:16me. Like David, let my prayer become. Create
- 5:22in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right
- 5:26spirit within me. God, I don't only want the
- 5:29situation changed, I want to be changed. Change
- 5:33whatever in me contributed to the problem. Change
- 5:37the anger. Change the pride. Change the selfishness.
- 5:41Change the impatience. Change the dishonesty.
- 5:45Change the uncontrolled desires. Change the insecurity.
- 5:49Change the need for approval. Change the bitterness.
- 5:52Change the way I react. Change the way I speak.
- 5:56Change whatever cannot follow me into the person
- 5:59you are calling me to become. And God, if this
- 6:03season is not your correction, protect me from
- 6:07falsely condemning myself. Not every hardship
- 6:10is punishment. Not every closed door means I
- 6:14failed. Not every painful season means you are
- 6:18angry with me. Give me discernment. If you are
- 6:22correcting me, help me receive it. If you are
- 6:25redirecting me, help me follow. If you are telling
- 6:29me to wait, help me wait. If I am simply walking
- 6:33through a difficult season, Give me faith to
- 6:37endure without accusing myself. I want to hear
- 6:40you clearly. God, when correction hurts, remind
- 6:45me that discomfort does not automatically mean
- 6:48rejection. When obedience costs me something,
- 6:52give me strength. When I have to walk away from
- 6:55something I became attached to, help me surrender.
- 6:59When you put your finger on something I have
- 7:01been defending, help me release it. When you
- 7:05say, this cannot continue, give me the courage
- 7:09to agree with you. Because I don't want you merely
- 7:13to bless everything I choose. I want you to correct
- 7:17anything that could destroy what you are preparing
- 7:20for me. Protect my marriage. Protect my family.
- 7:25Protect my relationships. Protect my ministry.
- 7:29Protect my career. Protect my calling. Protect
- 7:32my testimony, protect my future. And if protecting
- 7:36those things requires correcting something within
- 7:39me, God, correct me now. Correct me before pride
- 7:45becomes destruction. Correct me before anger
- 7:48destroys relationships. Correct me before ambition
- 7:52corrupts my character. Correct me before temptation
- 7:56becomes bondage. Correct me before success produces
- 8:00arrogance. Correct me before a small compromise
- 8:04becomes a larger collapse. I would rather experience
- 8:08the discomfort of correction than the devastation
- 8:12of destruction. God, teach me to ask a different
- 8:16question. Not only, why am I going through this?
- 8:20But, God, what are you trying to preserve? If
- 8:25you are preserving my character, thank you. If
- 8:28you are preserving my family, thank you. If you
- 8:32are preserving my calling, thank you. If you
- 8:36are preserving my future, thank you. If you are
- 8:40protecting me from something I cannot yet see,
- 8:44thank you. I may not understand the interruption
- 8:47today. I may not understand the closed door today.
- 8:52I may not understand why you told me no. I may
- 8:55not understand why something had to change. But
- 8:59give me faith to believe that sometimes your
- 9:01no can contain protection. Sometimes your interruption
- 9:06can contain mercy. Sometimes your correction
- 9:10can contain preparation. And sometimes correction
- 9:14is rescue. Lord, I surrender my pride. I surrender
- 9:18my excuses. I surrender my defensiveness. I surrender
- 9:23my need to always be right. I surrender my reputation.
- 9:27I surrender the image I try to protect. I surrender
- 9:31my character to your refining work. Teach me,
- 9:35correct me, discipline me, restore me, transform
- 9:40me, and when you have corrected me, don't let
- 9:44me remain trapped in the past. Don't let me continue
- 9:47punishing myself for what you have forgiven.
- 9:51Don't let yesterday's failure become today's
- 9:54identity. Let correction produce wisdom. Let
- 9:58correction produce humility. Let correction produce
- 10:02discipline. Let correction produce self -control.
- 10:07Let correction produce compassion. Let correction
- 10:11produce maturity. Let correction produce righteousness.
- 10:16Let correction produce peace. And let me walk
- 10:19differently because you loved me enough to confront
- 10:22me. Today, I declare Correction is not rejection.
- 10:27Conviction is not condemnation. Discipline is
- 10:31not abandonment. Consequences do not automatically
- 10:34mean my purpose is cancelled. God is still working
- 10:38on me. God is still refining me. God is still
- 10:42teaching me. God is still transforming me. And
- 10:45by His grace, I will not run from the refiner
- 10:49while He is refining me. God. If you see something
- 10:53in me that could destroy what you are preparing
- 10:56to place in my hands, deal with it. If you see
- 11:01something in me that could damage the people
- 11:03I am called to serve, deal with it. If you see
- 11:08something in me that could compromise my testimony,
- 11:11deal with it. If you see something in me that
- 11:15could become tomorrow's collapse, deal with it
- 11:19today. Because I understand now Sometimes the
- 11:22God who loves me will comfort me. Sometimes he
- 11:26will carry me. Sometimes he will restore me.
- 11:30And sometimes he will correct me. And when he
- 11:33does, I will remember. Correction is not always
- 11:37rejection. Sometimes correction is rescue. God,
- 11:43correct me without letting me run from you. Keep
- 11:46me close while you change me. Keep me humble
- 11:49while you teach me. Keep me surrendered while
- 11:52you refine me and make me into the person who
- 11:56can faithfully carry what you are preparing for
- 11:58my future I am still being refined for a purpose
- 12:02in the name of Jesus Christ Amen If God is correcting
- 12:10something in your life today don't immediately
- 12:13run from the discomfort Ask him God. What are
- 12:18you trying to teach me? What are you trying to
- 12:20preserve? Receive his conviction. Receive his
- 12:24grace. Make the correction. And keep walking.
- 12:29The refiner is not finished with you. Always
- 12:34remember, you are not alone. Pomoja Ministry
- 12:38is your prayer partner.
