- 0:00Welcome to Kick Ass Daily, where we bring news, trivia, fun
- 0:04facts, and more just for curious kids like you.
- 0:07Today, we're swinging into action with one of the most
- 0:10famous superheroes in the world, Spider Man Get ready to climb
- 0:14skyscrapers, shoot webs, and discover the amazing world of
- 0:19Spider Man comics and movies. O put on your imaginary masks
- 0:24and let's go. Let's start at the very
- 0:26beginning. Imagine you're just a regular
- 0:28kid going to school, trying to do your homework, and maybe even
- 0:32worrying about chores. That's exactly what life was
- 0:35like for Peter Parker, the real name of Spider Man.
- 0:38Peter was an ordinary teenager living in New York City, and he
- 0:42certainly didn't think he was special.
- 0:44But everything changed the day he was bitten by a radioactive
- 0:48spider on a school field trip. Instead of just getting a red,
- 0:52itchy bump, Peter suddenly found himself with superpowers.
- 0:56He could stick to walls like a spider, had super strength, and
- 1:00could sense danger with his Spidey sense.
- 1:03Pretty cool, right? Now you might be wondering,
- 1:06where did Spider Man come from? Who invented him?
- 1:09Well, Spider Man was created by two very creative people, Stan
- 1:14Lee, who wrote the stories, and Steve Ditko who drew the
- 1:17pictures. They worked for Marvel Comics
- 1:20and 1st introduced Spider Man in a comic called Amazing fantasy
- 1:24#15 way back in 1962. That's over 60 years ago.
- 1:29At the time, most superheroes were adults, but Spider Man was
- 1:33a teenager, just like many of his readers.
- 1:35This made him super relatable. Let's talk about Spider Man's
- 1:39powers. After being bitten by the
- 1:41spider, Peter Parker could climb up walls just like a real
- 1:45spider. Imagine being able to walk up
- 1:47the side of your house or climb to the top of the tallest tree
- 1:50without falling. He's also super strong.
- 1:53He can lift cars and even stop trains.
- 1:56And then there's his Spidey sense, a special tingling
- 1:59feeling that warns him when danger is near.
- 2:02It's like having a superhero version of your parents 6th
- 2:05sense when you're up to something sneaky.
- 2:07But Spider Man wouldn't be Spider Man without his web
- 2:10shooters. Here's a fun fact.
- 2:12In the original comics, Peter Parker was so smart that he
- 2:16invented his own gadgets, including the famous web
- 2:19shooters. He made a special sticky fluid
- 2:22that he could shoot from his wrists, which helped him swing
- 2:24between buildings and catch bad guys.
- 2:27It's like having your own portable monkey bars, except way
- 2:30cooler. Now let's talk about Spider
- 2:33Man's costume. When Peter first became Spider
- 2:36Man, he didn't have a fancy suit.
- 2:38He actually made his own costume using regular clothes and a
- 2:42mask. Over time, his suit became more
- 2:45high tech and iconic with its bright red and blue colors and a
- 2:49big black spider on the chest. Some versions even have glowing
- 2:53eyes or extra gadgets. If you could design your own
- 2:56superhero suit, what would it look like?
- 2:59OK, time for a did you know moment.
- 3:02Did you know that Spider Man's costume is one of the most
- 3:04recognized superhero outfits in the world?
- 3:07Even people who have never read a comic book can usually spot
- 3:10Spider Man just by his suit. Spider Man isn't just about cool
- 3:14powers and awesome costumes. What really makes him special is
- 3:18his story. Peter Parker learned a very
- 3:21important lesson after something sad happened to his Uncle Ben.
- 3:25His uncle told him with great power comes great
- 3:28responsibility. That means if you have the
- 3:30ability to help people, you should always try your best to
- 3:33do the right thing. It's a lesson that Spider Man
- 3:36tries to remember every day, even when things get tough.
- 3:40Now let's swing over to Spider Man's friends and family.
- 3:43Peter Parker lives with his Aunt May, who takes care of him after
- 3:46his parents are gone. He has a best friend named Harry
- 3:49Osborne and a crush on Mary Jane Watson.
- 3:52But Peter's life isn't always easy.
- 3:55He has to balance school, homework, his job as a
- 3:57photographer and, Oh yeah, saving New York City from super
- 4:01villains. It's like having a million
- 4:03things on your To Do List, except your chores include
- 4:05fighting giant lizards and stopping bank robbers.
- 4:09Speaking of villains, Spider Man has some of the coolest and
- 4:12weirdest enemies in comic book history.
- 4:15There's the Green Goblin who flies around on a glider and
- 4:18throws pumpkin bombs. Dr. Octopus has four metal arms
- 4:22that make him super strong. The Lizard is a scientist who
- 4:26turned himself into a giant reptile.
- 4:28And don't forget Venom, who is like an evil version of Spider
- 4:31Man with a scary toothy grin. These villains make Spider Man's
- 4:36life exciting, but also pretty dangerous.
- 4:39Here's another did you know moment?
- 4:41Spiderman has fought over 1000 different villains in the
- 4:44comics. That's more bad guys than there
- 4:47are Pokémon. Now let's swing from the comic
- 4:50book pages onto the big screen. Spiderman is one of the most
- 4:54popular superheroes in movies. The first big Spider Man movie
- 4:58came out in 2002 and starred Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker.
- 5:03Since then, there have been several different Spider Man
- 5:05movies with different actors like Andrew Garfield and Tom
- 5:08Holland. Each version shows Peter Parker
- 5:11in a new way, but they all have one thing in common, a regular
- 5:15kid trying to do the right thing.
- 5:17In the movies, we get to see Spider Man's adventures come to
- 5:20life with awesome special effects.
- 5:23He swings through the city, fights villains, and saves the
- 5:26day. Some movies even show other
- 5:28versions of Spider Man from different universes.
- 5:31There's Spider Man Into the Spider Verse, an animated movie
- 5:35with a brand new hero named Miles Morales.
- 5:38Miles is a teenager who gets bitten by a radioactive spider
- 5:42just like Peter, but he also has his own unique powers like
- 5:46turning invisible and shooting electric webs.
- 5:49The movie even brings together Spider Man and Spider women from
- 5:52other worlds, including Spider Gwen, Spider Ham who's a pig
- 5:56version of Spider Man, and even a robot spider.
- 6:00Did you know that Spider Man into the Spider verse won an
- 6:03Oscar for Best Animated Feature? It's one of the most creative
- 6:07and colorful superhero movies ever made.
- 6:10Let's talk a little more about Spider Man in the Marvel
- 6:12Cinematic Universe, or MCU for short.
- 6:16That's the giant group of superhero movies where Spiderman
- 6:19gets to team up with heroes like Iron Man, Captain America, and
- 6:23The Avengers. In these movies, Tom Holland
- 6:26plays Spiderman and he's younger and more playful than ever.
- 6:30He even goes to space and helps save the whole universe.
- 6:34It's like being invited to the world's coolest superhero team.
- 6:37Now, you might be wondering, why do so many people love Spider
- 6:41Man? Well, it's not just because of
- 6:43the cool powers or the awesome costume.
- 6:46Spider Man is special because he's just like us.
- 6:49He makes mistakes, he gets nervous, and sometimes he's not
- 6:53sure what to do. He tries his best, even when
- 6:56things are hard. He shows us that anyone can be a
- 6:59hero, no matter how ordinary you feel.
- 7:02Spider Man has inspired people all over the world.
- 7:05There are Spider Man comics in dozens of languages and Spider
- 7:08Man toys, games, cartoons, and even theme park rides.
- 7:13You might even see Spider Man at a parade or a birthday party.
- 7:17He's a symbol of hope, courage, and kindness.
- 7:20Before we wrap up, here's one last Did you know a moment?
- 7:24There are over 800 different Spiderman comic book issues and
- 7:27Spiderman has appeared in more than 100 comic book stories.
- 7:32That's a lot of swinging and web slinging.
- 7:34Let's do a quick recap of what we learned today.
- 7:37Spider Man started as a comic book character in 1962, created
- 7:41by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. He's really Peter Parker, an
- 7:46ordinary teenager who gets superpowers after being bitten
- 7:49by a radioactive spider. Spider Man can climb walls, has
- 7:53super strength, and uses his homemade web shooters to swing
- 7:57through the city. His most important lesson is
- 7:59with great power comes great. He faces all kinds of strange
- 8:04and powerful villains but never gives up.
