- 0:32Speaker 3: I'm in Italy?

- 0:38Speaker 2: saying thirty eight is the Italy of the United States.
- 0:42Speaker 3: Come on, it is, come on, come on. I know,
- 0:46Speaker 3: like it's funny and I know I get I know

- 1:16Speaker 3: I'm saying, you don't even need to take along, like
- 1:17Speaker 3: when you're washing off your feet when you come on
- 1:19Speaker 3: like the boat walk of the concrete and got the
- 1:21Speaker 3: little shower, it trickles off. Bro it's powder bong, dc mo.

- 2:54Speaker 3: event to the boys. Whatever you want to do. Let's
- 2:57Speaker 3: dive in. Where do we want to even start?
- 3:00Speaker 2: Man Well, I sent you a tweet that I thought
- 3:04Speaker 2: was hilarious.
- 3:04Speaker 1: Oh the freezing.
- 3:07Speaker 3: We do have a you know this isn't part of
- 3:09Speaker 3: the the new dad shout outs that we have coming
- 3:14Speaker 3: up on the show.
- 3:14Speaker 1: But Saram did send me on the ft D.
- 3:16Speaker 3: Here we go. We have a new dad alert. This
- 3:19Speaker 3: one is from our boy, Adam Singer. Congratulations, congratulations Adam.
- 3:26Speaker 3: He says, it's Friday. This is on X my man.
- 3:30Speaker 3: Adam Singer says, it's Friday. We should post some good
- 3:33Speaker 3: news to the timeline God willing. I'm gonna be a
- 3:36Speaker 3: father in November. Get over your oh shit, not nihilism. Nihilism,
- 3:42Speaker 3: what does that mean?
- 3:43Speaker 1: An nihilist is I've seen this, yeah, but you know
- 3:49Speaker 1: the memory. I'm not that. I'm not sure. I don't
- 3:51Speaker 1: have a Sean McVay brain.
- 3:52Speaker 2: An nihilist is almost in the belief of nothing like
- 3:55Speaker 2: you're you're, You.
- 3:56Speaker 1: Don't want any of the isms at all.
- 4:00Speaker 3: You just strip yourself away, get over yourself, get over
- 4:02Speaker 3: your nihilism and have a kid. It's why we're here
- 4:05Speaker 3: after all. Come on, shout out, Adam Singer. This isn't
- 4:08Speaker 3: written in Before the Dads, This isn't tagged by the
- 4:11Speaker 3: old Papa Team six community. This is something we just
- 4:13Speaker 3: came across on the internet and just a phenomenal reply
- 4:18Speaker 3: by Freezing Cold Takes. Freezing Cold Takes on Twitter says congrats,
- 4:23Speaker 3: and then drops a couple screenshots of Adam Singer in
- 4:27Speaker 3: the past. This is Adam Singer responding to people in
- 4:31Speaker 3: twenty twenty twenty twenty one and their comments of Adam
- 4:36Speaker 3: Singer responding to people about having kids, saying things like
- 4:41Speaker 3: I already don't want kids. This is why we don't
- 4:44Speaker 3: have kids and don't want any or or don't have kids.
- 4:47Speaker 3: Don't buy any physical things ever for any reason. Do
- 4:51Speaker 3: whatever you want in markets, or have no kids and
- 4:55Speaker 3: do whatever the hell you want. Just know that every
- 4:57Speaker 3: time I pause, that means he's doing another comment. This
- 5:00Speaker 3: I'm reading this is six total comments, and I'm sure, yeah, yeah,
- 5:05Speaker 3: there you go, production, production, production. This is why I
- 5:09Speaker 3: have dogs and no kids. This is why we don't
- 5:12Speaker 3: have kids. Problem solved. But now years later, five six
- 5:16Speaker 3: years later, Adam Singer is now having a child. He
- 5:19Speaker 3: came back around God willing get over your nihilism, then
- 5:23Speaker 3: have kids, He replied to Freezing Cold Takes underneath Oh
- 5:29Speaker 3: did he I have changed my mind on this important topic.
- 5:35Speaker 3: That's like last week with Greg what is something that
- 5:38Speaker 3: you feel like you had an opinion? That you had
- 5:40Speaker 3: an opinion on a long time ago and have now
- 5:42Speaker 3: changed your mind.
- 5:43Speaker 1: Yeah, this is Adam Singer. Now he's changed his mind.
- 5:46Speaker 1: That's gotta be I mean, that has to be.
- 5:48Speaker 2: Parenthood kind of summed up as far as I haven't
- 5:52Speaker 2: experienced it too much, but there are so many things
- 5:55Speaker 2: that I held as truth when I was late teens, same,
- 5:59Speaker 2: early twenties, and now I'm just like, oh my gosh,
- 6:02Speaker 2: my whole world has been blown up.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:05Speaker 3: You know, being a young lad back in the day,
- 6:07Speaker 3: it's when you were gonna have kids. You're gonna have
- 6:08Speaker 3: a boy. He's gonna play every sport. He's gonna be
- 6:11Speaker 3: the best, he's gonna be in the he's gonna be
- 6:13Speaker 3: playing in the big leagues. When people cancel plans, what's
- 6:17Speaker 3: so hard about canceling plans?
- 6:18Speaker 1: Like, you got a.
- 6:19Speaker 3: Kid who cares, figure out a way to get a babysitter.
- 6:23Speaker 3: You know, you kind of judge your you judge your mates. Yeah,
- 6:27Speaker 3: you judge your boys when they have to cancel on
- 6:29Speaker 3: the bus.
- 6:30Speaker 1: Everybody mowned and growned.
- 6:31Speaker 2: When Taylor was like, yeah, hosting a family dinner like
- 6:36Speaker 2: weekly is pretty difficult. Everybody's like, oh, oh yeah, no,
- 6:40Speaker 2: Taylor's like, what you got ring Wall your kids got
- 6:42Speaker 2: there is hard?
- 6:43Speaker 1: Yeah, yes, you don't get it.
- 6:46Speaker 3: It is you see a true progression of how it
- 6:49Speaker 3: is your preconceived notions as you get older, when you
- 6:53Speaker 3: get close to having kids are getting married. Then when
- 6:55Speaker 3: you do get married, you complete buds training and you
- 6:59Speaker 3: become a true Pop Team sixer. Your mind changes all
- 7:02Speaker 3: the time, so you can't hold it against.
- 7:03Speaker 1: Him, dude.
- 7:04Speaker 2: Special shout out to Kevin who we met at eighth
- 7:08Speaker 2: and Roast. They were getting their anatomy scan.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Yeah, that was crazy. Sherman and I were getting a
- 7:15Speaker 1: coffee yesterday.
- 7:16Speaker 3: This was crazy dude at the favorite watering hole, coffee
- 7:19Speaker 3: hole eighth and Roast over off of Charlotte.
- 7:22Speaker 1: No free shoutouts, all the free shodows, no free shoutout
- 7:24Speaker 1: because I did take an l while I was there,
- 7:26Speaker 1: just oh mass well. The worker was like, oh what
- 7:31Speaker 1: are you got going on the just working a little bit?
- 7:33Speaker 1: Oh what do you do? I was like, oh, we
- 7:34Speaker 1: have a podcast, and like oh, so you don't really work.
- 7:38Speaker 1: I laughed it off, just kept walking.
- 7:42Speaker 2: Right before that, he goes and what's the day on it?
- 7:44Speaker 2: He's like, well, and so he like, you know, it
- 7:46Speaker 2: takes a sharpy. What do y'all got going on? And
- 7:48Speaker 2: as he like literally says, oh so no work, puts
- 7:52Speaker 2: a period behind will and puts see you work.
- 7:55Speaker 1: I sat down next to Sherman, I have my coffee.
- 7:57Speaker 1: I was like, I'm so fucking pissed off.
- 8:00Speaker 2: It's like that that truly fucking fired me up. That
- 8:03Speaker 2: got me mad.
- 8:04Speaker 1: But when we were there, what was his wife's name is? Kevin?
- 8:10Speaker 1: Oh No? Did start with the A. I thought I
- 8:13Speaker 1: started with a K, like Kelsey starts with k no.
- 8:17Speaker 2: But it was like it was like Kaylee or Kayla,
- 8:21Speaker 2: like I had an a sound to it.
- 8:24Speaker 3: Either way, Hey Kayla Yahyayla and Kelsey God, I hate
- 8:30Speaker 3: it Kylie. She was so fired up. Kevin was in
- 8:33Speaker 3: the bathroom. Sherman I sit down, and it's you have
- 8:36Speaker 3: the entire coffee shop to pick a spot to see,
- 8:38Speaker 3: to pick a spot to sit on. Sherman, I just
- 8:40Speaker 3: choose to sit on like the love seat where we're
- 8:42Speaker 3: just directly next to each other, arms touching, and we
- 8:45Speaker 3: just sit on the little love seat next to the
- 8:47Speaker 3: j O. She pops up over our shoulder and she's like, hey,
- 8:50Speaker 3: my husband he's in the he's in the bathroom right now.
- 8:53Speaker 3: We actually just got done with our visit on like
- 8:56Speaker 3: having a baby. We're going in for another appointment here soon.
- 8:59Speaker 3: And he loves your guys' show. He's gonna hate me
- 9:02Speaker 3: for this. He's gonna hate me for this. And we
- 9:05Speaker 3: just talked shop. Kevin came out. We congratulated him on
- 9:07Speaker 3: completing Buds training and now becoming a future member of
- 9:10Speaker 3: Papa Team six.
- 9:11Speaker 2: He was stoked, and then we we literally just talked
- 9:14Speaker 2: about their anatomy scan. It was so funny how weird
- 9:19Speaker 2: the timing was of them leaving the anatomy scan seeing
- 9:21Speaker 2: their baby for the first time. This guy listens to
- 9:24Speaker 2: a dad podcast because he's having said baby and is
- 9:28Speaker 2: excited about it. Sees the two hosts of the dad
- 9:31Speaker 2: podcast and it is like, yeah, I just saw you know.
- 9:34Speaker 2: You saw my daughter rog him over to the barista
- 9:37Speaker 2: and be like, this is work, buddy, this is work.
- 9:40Speaker 1: This is what I do.
- 9:41Speaker 3: You see the impression we're making all about the show.
- 9:44Speaker 1: Kevin, you shouldn't have done that.
- 9:50Speaker 3: That would have been brilliant, But that was That was
- 9:52Speaker 3: a cool moment too, because Kevin's by like both the
- 9:55Speaker 3: guys are right here. There's they're literally with nobody else
- 9:58Speaker 3: and they're sitting arm in arm next to each other a.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Park bench sized love seat, like we're talking the tiniest
- 10:03Speaker 2: love seat. Will and I went there to like talk turkey,
- 10:07Speaker 2: and obviously we're gonna sit across from each other, and
- 10:10Speaker 2: Will just parks it on that bench and the other
- 10:12Speaker 2: bench was comically far away if we were to talk,
- 10:16Speaker 2: so I had to Papa Squad next.
- 10:17Speaker 1: I had to Papa Squad. Now it does you know?
- 10:21Speaker 3: I wonder if Kevin feels the same way because we
- 10:22Speaker 3: have a follow up here from last week. We had
- 10:24Speaker 3: somebody on Instagram make a comment four days ago.
- 10:26Speaker 1: It's now edited, but it's it says Will and Sureham.
- 10:29Speaker 3: This is from d lazy Will and sure Him act
- 10:31Speaker 3: like raising kids as rocket science and they're in they're
- 10:36Speaker 3: try to uncrack the code. He even edited it and
- 10:38Speaker 3: still couldn't spell it right. And they're trying to crack
- 10:42Speaker 3: the code.
- 10:44Speaker 1: Wait, he's saying it's easy, and I don't know what
- 10:47Speaker 1: he's saying.
- 10:48Speaker 3: I feel like it's a negative vibe in the comment section.
- 10:51Speaker 2: He definitely feels like that. He's just like they're sitting there.
- 10:55Speaker 2: They're trying to figure out how to do it. You
- 10:57Speaker 2: fucking do it, dude. Oh, it's a show all about
- 11:02Speaker 2: how to do something that's super fucking eas It's.
- 11:04Speaker 3: Comments like those that just like internally make you boil
- 11:09Speaker 3: for a moment because I just Barista. Yeah, it's probably
- 11:14Speaker 3: the Barisa on a burner account that make you boil
- 11:19Speaker 3: because it's like you just know, it's.
- 11:21Speaker 1: Like, that's not what we do. We're not doing that.
- 11:23Speaker 1: We're not doing that. We're enjoying the moment.
- 11:27Speaker 2: We're in the moment right now, and we're just talking
- 11:29Speaker 2: about it.
- 11:29Speaker 1: That's all we're doing.
- 11:30Speaker 3: Yere like, oh so good, you guys talk about fatherhood.
- 11:33Speaker 3: Try making a moocha? Yeah, have you listened to the show?
- 11:36Speaker 3: And if they say, no, hey, how about how about
- 11:38Speaker 3: go and just check out the show? You would know
- 11:41Speaker 3: that you wouldn't say a comment like that if you
- 11:43Speaker 3: just checked out the show. No, I'm good on that. Okay,
- 11:46Speaker 3: you're just projecting your own bullshit. You just want to
- 11:48Speaker 3: be a hater for no goddamn Reese, will sure try
- 11:50Speaker 3: making a frappuccino.
- 11:52Speaker 2: Tell me how easy that is? We have another flashback?
- 11:56Speaker 2: Or what do we call it greg Or.
- 11:58Speaker 3: Greg's Got a Lot of Love Love Greg episode.
- 12:01Speaker 2: Uh Mike Beviquah eighty four on YouTube. I think Greg
- 12:06Speaker 2: and I read the same parenting book. I have a
- 12:09Speaker 2: fifteen year old daughter, and I found myself agreeing with
- 12:11Speaker 2: Damn near every bit of advice, question, success, failure, situation
- 12:16Speaker 2: that he brought up. She's my stepdaughter, and my wife
- 12:19Speaker 2: tells me that she and I have a weird relationship.
- 12:23Speaker 2: But it's good to note that it's actually pretty normal
- 12:25Speaker 2: since it looks exactly like Greg and his daughters minus
- 12:29Speaker 2: the front row at the Taylor Swift God stirt, I
- 12:31Speaker 2: haven't done that yet. Great, so don't forget to take
- 12:34Speaker 2: out the trash. They never forgot to take out the
- 12:37Speaker 2: Thank you, Mike. This was from Maggie Moo on YouTube,
- 12:41Speaker 2: Top three sold. Nothing beats Grandma Maxine playing checkers. Greg
- 12:45Speaker 2: is the best.
- 12:46Speaker 1: Oh let's go, Maggie Moo, Meggy Moo. I take that,
- 12:49Speaker 1: Grandma Maxine. That's that is a story. That's a story, dude.
- 12:55Speaker 3: The teeth falling out in the middle of checkers, going
- 12:58Speaker 3: into a stroke.
- 12:59Speaker 1: What would your grandfather?
- 13:00Speaker 4: Saying?
- 13:00Speaker 1: It good?
- 13:02Speaker 3: He's like, uh, Mac, you gotta move and I'm there, Mac, move.
- 13:10Speaker 1: And she's just kind of.
- 13:11Speaker 3: Sitting there quietly and I'm just sitting there. You know,
- 13:13Speaker 3: I forget how old I said. I was like seven
- 13:15Speaker 3: eight ors something like that.
- 13:17Speaker 1: Damn it, Mac, scene you gotta move. Then her teachers
- 13:20Speaker 1: fall up. I was like spread into the living room crying.
- 13:26Speaker 1: Bro Mac and my grandpa.
- 13:28Speaker 3: And again for people that are newly tuned in, my
- 13:31Speaker 3: grandpa at this time was legally and I can laugh
- 13:38Speaker 3: like these are my grandpa. Yeah, yeah, my grandpa was
- 13:42Speaker 3: legally blind and my grandma was legally deaf, like she
- 13:46Speaker 3: had insane antennis for like hearing aids.
- 13:50Speaker 1: My grandpa had these specs.
- 13:52Speaker 3: On that he just could Yeah, he can only see
- 13:55Speaker 3: like silhouettes.
- 13:58Speaker 1: So they complimented each other. Well, he just say he
- 14:01Speaker 1: just saw that the silhouette wasn't moving.
- 14:03Speaker 3: He just saw the silhouel as a movie. And I
- 14:05Speaker 3: was like, Grandma, it's your turn. He's like, Mack, you
- 14:07Speaker 3: gotta move, damn Max, you got And then I run screaming.
- 14:12Speaker 3: Obviously I'm telling the story over again. I run screaming
- 14:14Speaker 3: into the living room. My grandpa again, since he's legally blind,
- 14:17Speaker 3: he still doesn't nessarly know what's going on?
- 14:18Speaker 1: Yeah, Grandma just rocked back. Grandma back, seen rock back
- 14:21Speaker 1: and her teeth falling out, and he's like, I haven't
- 14:24Speaker 1: her teeth fellow, her teeth fellow. We gotta call it's
- 14:29Speaker 1: just us three in the house.
- 14:31Speaker 2: Yeah, you had to help get her in the car
- 14:33Speaker 2: and stuff. Right, Where did your dad come over?
- 14:35Speaker 3: No? No, this was like they had to get they
- 14:37Speaker 3: had to roll in the bed, the stretcher and everything
- 14:40Speaker 3: into the house.
- 14:41Speaker 1: Which was the story where you were actually.
- 14:43Speaker 3: The skinny one to like get it through the door
- 14:45Speaker 3: on the way out. But they had to get her
- 14:46Speaker 3: on the stretcher. Oh my gosh. And she was good
- 14:49Speaker 3: from it, she was, Yeah, she survived.
- 14:52Speaker 1: What was the story?
- 14:53Speaker 2: Where was it mac that fell out to pick up
- 14:56Speaker 2: when your dad was backing up?
- 14:57Speaker 3: Yeah, now this this is from my dad. Like I
- 15:01Speaker 3: wasn't there, but my dad said he was taking her
- 15:03Speaker 3: to a hair appointment. My grandma she would always get
- 15:05Speaker 3: a perm. She always have all the old women they
- 15:07Speaker 3: love to get the popes. She'd be wearing it was
- 15:09Speaker 3: a gown every day, some floral gown and then she'd
- 15:12Speaker 3: rip a perm.
- 15:13Speaker 5: Huh.
- 15:13Speaker 3: But my dad was taking her to the beauty salon
- 15:16Speaker 3: one day. Yeah, it was I never knew of my
- 15:19Speaker 3: dad taking her to her hair point. It was always
- 15:21Speaker 3: my mom. It really was just always my mom. So
- 15:23Speaker 3: this is like one of the very rare times my
- 15:25Speaker 3: dad had to take her to her appointment.
- 15:27Speaker 1: But it's his mother, his mother, it's my dad's mom.
- 15:30Speaker 3: And he gets her up into the gets her up
- 15:34Speaker 3: into the truck, helps her start to get in, and
- 15:36Speaker 3: then as he kind of seventy five percent fully gets
- 15:38Speaker 3: her in, he thinks she's going to finish getting fully
- 15:42Speaker 3: in the truck.
- 15:43Speaker 1: He starts walking around to the other.
- 15:44Speaker 3: Side, and as he gets into the car and slams
- 15:47Speaker 3: and slams in side of the door, she tips out.
- 15:53Speaker 4: Brother.
- 15:54Speaker 1: That had to be the driest thud of all times.
- 16:00Speaker 1: Like a very subtle, very small little hill in the
- 16:02Speaker 1: front yard. So she landed in grass. Oh no, she
- 16:05Speaker 1: landed on the sidewalk and then rolls in the grass. Yeah, yeah,
- 16:11Speaker 1: damn it.
- 16:11Speaker 2: Back.
- 16:12Speaker 1: Yeah, that one might have got her. That one might
- 16:14Speaker 1: have got her.
- 16:14Speaker 6: Hip.
- 16:14Speaker 1: There were a couple of times she cracked it. She
- 16:16Speaker 1: cracked she corracked her. Oh no, back this one, yes,
- 16:24Speaker 1: Greg goes in top three, So top three.
- 16:26Speaker 2: So this one comes from stupendus.
- 16:30Speaker 1: STUPIDU says six.
- 16:31Speaker 2: Soed boys get out there and wash that truck at
- 16:34Speaker 2: night when the daughter is coming home from the date.
- 16:37Speaker 2: Excuse is that it was too hot during the day
- 16:40Speaker 2: and I didn't want any water spots. Don't forget to
- 16:43Speaker 2: ride that chalkway, boys, don't forget it.
- 16:46Speaker 1: That's some game from stew That's some game. That's some game.
- 16:51Speaker 2: Fifteen minutes in, I already told my husband he needs
- 16:53Speaker 2: to watch love Greg's outlook, especially a look ahead, since
- 16:57Speaker 2: he has older kids.
- 16:58Speaker 1: BS.
- 16:59Speaker 2: He isn't too bad to look at either. That one
- 17:02Speaker 2: comes from E. M. K. Burd O. She is defender,
- 17:11Speaker 2: not too bad to look at.
- 17:13Speaker 3: She wouldn't subscribe to Youth Youth Sports Inc. Let me
- 17:17Speaker 3: go get a look at old Greg. Oh, he calls
- 17:19Speaker 3: the games all on Sundays Fox. Okay, Greggy boys football
- 17:24Speaker 3: thing ain't too bad, ain't too shabby.
- 17:27Speaker 1: Kind of like this stuff.
- 17:29Speaker 3: The biggest take because I even went home after we
- 17:32Speaker 3: recorded that episode. It was telling my wife because we
- 17:35Speaker 3: we we don't talk about it like often because we
- 17:37Speaker 3: know we're kind of far off from it, But every
- 17:39Speaker 3: now and then we bring up the idea of like
- 17:40Speaker 3: technology and phones and iPad, like just yes.
- 17:44Speaker 1: When is gonna be the age? And you kind of
- 17:46Speaker 1: like we're years out.
- 17:47Speaker 3: We're doing the thing where we're gonna where we think
- 17:49Speaker 3: in our heads we're committing to something early. Now we're
- 17:52Speaker 3: obviously not obviously, but chances are we're going to change her.
- 17:55Speaker 1: Mind by the time we get to whatever that point is.
- 17:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:58Speaker 1: Yeah, But something.
- 17:59Speaker 3: I took away from Greg's episode was when he talked
- 18:02Speaker 3: about failing inside the house that really like resonated with me,
- 18:07Speaker 3: is like, you know, they're going to get exposed to
- 18:10Speaker 3: a lot of things, and when we were on the
- 18:12Speaker 3: topic of like tech and phones and everything else, he's
- 18:15Speaker 3: like wanting them to fail inside the house so that
- 18:17Speaker 3: way they're at least around you to talk through whatever
- 18:20Speaker 3: the issues that might arise from those things that they're
- 18:24Speaker 3: getting exposed to.
- 18:25Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that was that was a good one.
- 18:28Speaker 3: That was one where I was like, uh, oh, I
- 18:30Speaker 3: can get on board. I could be talked into something
- 18:34Speaker 3: there with the idea and the philosophy of they're failing
- 18:37Speaker 3: around us, so we get to help be the teacher
- 18:40Speaker 3: in those moments.
- 18:40Speaker 2: Yeah, And it's like one of those very first it
- 18:44Speaker 2: was like one of your first three lessons of the week.
- 18:47Speaker 2: Was that horse trainer talking about like the your grip
- 18:51Speaker 2: on the reins of a horse is like your grip
- 18:53Speaker 2: on the reins of your child, of like allow them
- 18:56Speaker 2: to fail to be there when they fail to help
- 18:59Speaker 2: them learn from failure.
- 19:00Speaker 1: Like, Yeah, it all kind of coincides with that.
- 19:03Speaker 3: This is the rocket science. That's the rode we're trying
- 19:07Speaker 3: to crack from my man.
- 19:08Speaker 1: D L A Z.
- 19:09Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 19:09Speaker 1: Yeah, he's got to figure it out, though he does.
- 19:12Speaker 3: He figured he gotta you give him a phone. Yeah,
- 19:18Speaker 3: rocket science. Father they take the crack and the cold.
- 19:24Speaker 3: These two guys discovered fatherhood.
- 19:26Speaker 6: Oh by the shirt lead the comment what a phony dude,
- 19:33Speaker 6: what a bus a cash grab dude, I can what.
- 19:37Speaker 2: I would love to meet people like that though, because
- 19:40Speaker 2: you know he's it's those people that would be like, oh, well,
- 19:43Speaker 2: what's all.
- 19:43Speaker 3: That's what I'm saying, You're never going to meet them. Ever,
- 19:47Speaker 3: the negativity that I've experienced online throughout the years, I've
- 19:52Speaker 3: never never met any of these people or have been
- 19:55Speaker 3: told things like that in person, ever, Yeah.
- 19:58Speaker 2: Because it would be crazy, like if somebody like truly
- 20:01Speaker 2: came up to me in the grocery store and was
- 20:04Speaker 2: like Dad podcasts be like, oh yeah, yeah.
- 20:09Speaker 3: You a scientist, had another poopy diaper again a great
- 20:15Speaker 3: show kid, and just walked off.
- 20:17Speaker 1: I would belly laugh.
- 20:19Speaker 2: I would belly laugh in that moment because I would
- 20:22Speaker 2: so like that was incredible.
- 20:24Speaker 1: You gotta say, oh, somebody needs a nap.
- 20:27Speaker 3: Somebody didn't get there, ba ba, I got an extra
- 20:31Speaker 3: binky in the pocket.
- 20:32Speaker 1: You need a binky.
- 20:33Speaker 3: Hey, that's my dad, by the way, that's one of
- 20:37Speaker 3: my dad acts, binking in the pocket.
- 20:38Speaker 2: I put a bankie in the pocket when we were
- 20:41Speaker 2: going out onto the beach because I was like, I bet,
- 20:44Speaker 2: I just bet that that binkie's gonna hit the sand.
- 20:48Speaker 2: Jill already has six extras in the bag, very packed,
- 20:52Speaker 2: but she doesn't have a quick draw mcgral binkie right there, dude,
- 20:57Speaker 2: that feeling, there was no better feeling. And you can't
- 20:59Speaker 2: tell tell anybody about the sneaky beankie. It just sits
- 21:03Speaker 2: in your pocket. You don't let anybody know about it.
- 21:06Speaker 2: And then when that one beankie gets dirty, Oh.
- 21:09Speaker 3: No, no, no, sweetheart, I got when I put one in
- 21:10Speaker 3: my pocket when we were at the You don't have
- 21:12Speaker 3: one you didn't prepare.
- 21:13Speaker 1: We did you get that one? We'd you find that one?
- 21:16Speaker 1: Is it even clean? You know if dad stays on
- 21:19Speaker 1: his toes, hey, you know, I stay ready.
- 21:21Speaker 2: But that was why my dad hacks. It's a good
- 21:23Speaker 2: dad hack. Extra banky dude. How was vacation? Let's not
- 21:25Speaker 2: have into vacation, dude. Vacation was so good. It was
- 21:30Speaker 2: crazy fun. It was very resting and relaxing, like we
- 21:36Speaker 2: did a time. Jill is a mover and a shaker
- 21:40Speaker 2: and a doer, wants to go on it adventures, very
- 21:43Speaker 2: much like Charles.
- 21:43Speaker 1: I was going to say, I feel like you're just
- 21:45Speaker 1: breaking down my wife right now.
- 21:47Speaker 2: There was a lot every single day we're doing stuff,
- 21:51Speaker 2: but there was a lot of relaxing stuff that we
- 21:54Speaker 2: also did of just like hanging out pool side for
- 21:58Speaker 2: you know, two to three hours. We were letting Scarlet
- 22:01Speaker 2: take naps as long as she wanted because Jill was
- 22:05Speaker 2: under the assumption of and people can take this as
- 22:08Speaker 2: a dad hack or a mom hack or like whatever,
- 22:11Speaker 2: but she was like, Scarlet's not going to sleep that
- 22:13Speaker 2: well anyways because she's in a new spot. Yeah, let
- 22:16Speaker 2: her just take some long naps in her new little
- 22:19Speaker 2: pack and play bed that we got for her little crib,
- 22:23Speaker 2: And so Scarlett was taking like these two and a
- 22:25Speaker 2: half hour naps, three hour naps, and we just let
- 22:28Speaker 2: her nap once instead of two in a day, so
- 22:32Speaker 2: Jill and I would get to have like three hours
- 22:34Speaker 2: to ourselves of just like hanging out by the pool,
- 22:37Speaker 2: getting to be a couple.
- 22:40Speaker 1: Dude. It was unreal.
- 22:42Speaker 2: Got to go probably my favorite moment of the trip.
- 22:47Speaker 2: I had this like awesome moment, dude, where we got
- 22:50Speaker 2: to go to this part of Greaton Beach where like
- 22:53Speaker 2: the true National Park is or the state park, sorry
- 22:58Speaker 2: of it's like a hected beach. So the beach quite literally,
- 23:03Speaker 2: I've been going to this beach since nineteen ninety three
- 23:05Speaker 2: when my grandmother was living down the road. That beach
- 23:08Speaker 2: in its dooms looked the exact same as if you
- 23:11Speaker 2: took a picture from nineteen ninety three, it's exactly the same.
- 23:16Speaker 2: Got to go there with my aunt on my mom's side,
- 23:18Speaker 2: her sister and take Scarlet there for her to like
- 23:23Speaker 2: see the ocean for the first time and experience that
- 23:27Speaker 2: with like a sunset come in, dude, and I had
- 23:31Speaker 2: like a crazy moment out there I was balling crying,
- 23:36Speaker 2: and not like audibly crying, like it was just coming
- 23:38Speaker 2: down quietly, and I was keeping it to myself.
- 23:40Speaker 3: When you say balling crying, Like the the viewer and
- 23:43Speaker 3: the listener they're thinking they're shaking. They're thinking you're shaking.
- 23:45Speaker 3: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, they've seen me where I on here.
- 23:49Speaker 2: It was a very it was a very controlled you know,
- 23:53Speaker 2: tears just kind of streaming down my cheeks. But I
- 23:56Speaker 2: had sunglasses on, so nobody was really like a strong
- 23:59Speaker 2: stone crust, oh dude, And it was like it was
- 24:02Speaker 2: like healing almost. I can't describe that feeling of like
- 24:06Speaker 2: getting to show my daughter a place that formed me
- 24:13Speaker 2: as a young individual, of like showed me what love
- 24:18Speaker 2: was from a family members showed me what adventure was.
- 24:24Speaker 2: And being brave enough to go deep in the ocean,
- 24:27Speaker 2: and learning how to do cartwheels on the beach and
- 24:31Speaker 2: playing with my grandma, and like all these little moments
- 24:34Speaker 2: are all tied to like this little stretch of beach
- 24:38Speaker 2: and I like got to take my daughter out there,
- 24:40Speaker 2: and then I got to we set her down the
- 24:43Speaker 2: sand and she literally screamed at the ocean and started
- 24:46Speaker 2: crawling towards it like a baby sea turtle. She was
- 24:49Speaker 2: obsessed with the water. I'm sitting there just you know,
- 24:53Speaker 2: the silent tears coming out. I'm biting my lip. I'm
- 24:56Speaker 2: so proud of her, and I'm so stoked in the
- 24:59Speaker 2: moment of like, oh my.
- 25:00Speaker 1: Gosh, she loves this place. I picked her up.
- 25:03Speaker 2: I found a little sandbar probably like forty or fifty
- 25:06Speaker 2: feet out into the water, and just held her on
- 25:09Speaker 2: the sandbar and I was just talking to her. I
- 25:11Speaker 2: was like, your dad loves this place more than anything
- 25:16Speaker 2: in the world. This is my favorite place. Like everything
- 25:19Speaker 2: around here, this is like what I love to look at.
- 25:23Speaker 2: And when I think of my happy place, I like
- 25:24Speaker 2: think of here. And I love you more than that, Like,
- 25:28Speaker 2: I love this place even more because I've gotten to
- 25:31Speaker 2: take you here now, and I hope you love it.
- 25:34Speaker 2: I hope you enjoy it, and we're gonna have like
- 25:37Speaker 2: a ton of fun in the years ahead, hopefully of
- 25:40Speaker 2: continuing to like come to this spot and make memories.
- 25:44Speaker 2: If you love this place as much as I do,
- 25:47Speaker 2: you might be a camp in girl. Yeah, you might
- 25:49Speaker 2: be a sports camp girl, which is fine, But if
- 25:51Speaker 2: you love the beach, we can come here whenever you want.
- 25:55Speaker 1: When you laid that on her? What she say?
- 25:57Speaker 2: She went, So she was on this shoulder right here,
- 26:03Speaker 2: and she was sitting there and she was looking out
- 26:04Speaker 2: into the ocean and she put her finger out and
- 26:07Speaker 2: she pointed and she went.
- 26:09Speaker 1: No, no, no, down. I said, that's right, honey, that's right.
- 26:15Speaker 1: And I kissed her on the cheek.
- 26:16Speaker 3: Dude, I give her a little kiss my phone because
- 26:21Speaker 3: I took this note.
- 26:24Speaker 1: I can't wait too. That mean England's over there.
- 26:26Speaker 2: So yeah, yeah, and we beat their ass. Dad she did, Honey,
- 26:30Speaker 2: we were bikes.
- 26:32Speaker 1: I had, uh.
- 26:35Speaker 3: Like a similar moment where we're sitting there and we're
- 26:38Speaker 3: laying on the bed, mama shower, and I want to say.
- 26:41Speaker 3: Scotty was already down to sleep and Rue was going
- 26:43Speaker 3: to do a sleepover with us, like sleep in our bed.
- 26:46Speaker 3: And Rue and I had gotten back from one of
- 26:50Speaker 3: the little shows that they do down the down in
- 26:52Speaker 3: the kids club are the hotel area where they're.
- 26:55Speaker 1: Doing like a metal razy dude. It was nuts, it
- 26:59Speaker 1: was nuts. Those look so set.
- 27:01Speaker 3: Yeah, they were epic. Rue was enthralled looking at all
- 27:05Speaker 3: these things going on. She's engaging. Anyway, we're on the
- 27:08Speaker 3: back end the tail end of the trip and I'm
- 27:11Speaker 3: laying with her in bed. She's got her pjs on,
- 27:14Speaker 3: she's got this she wanted to wear like a two
- 27:16Speaker 3: two over top. This's like rough two two and I'm
- 27:19Speaker 3: a sweetheart, we can't. We don't see if you're going
- 27:20Speaker 3: to sleep in our bed, you're not rocking it to
- 27:22Speaker 3: to to bed.
- 27:23Speaker 1: Oh damn. She took it off, but she's.
- 27:25Speaker 3: Like holding in bed and I'm laying and I was like,
- 27:27Speaker 3: and I'm trying to like set the tone because Rue's four,
- 27:29Speaker 3: Like we're having some conversations at this age. It was like, hey, sweetheart, Candet,
- 27:33Speaker 3: I tell you something, and she was like what. I
- 27:36Speaker 3: was like, come closer, and she like nestles up to me.
- 27:38Speaker 3: I was like, I love doing vacation with you so much.
- 27:42Speaker 3: I've had so much fun this week and I just
- 27:45Speaker 3: want you to know I love you so much and
- 27:46Speaker 3: I can't wait to keep doing stuff like this with you.
- 27:49Speaker 3: And I'm just trying to have a moment with her,
- 27:52Speaker 3: and she just looks at me and she goes hey dead.
- 27:55Speaker 3: Then I go yees, sweetheart, thinking we're in the moment,
- 27:58Speaker 3: and she goes, can I snug on my two tuo?
- 28:01Speaker 1: Like it's a stuffy tonight.
- 28:03Speaker 2: I was like, you get off me, dude, Get off
- 28:07Speaker 2: the bed.
- 28:07Speaker 3: Yeah, get off the bed. After the magic show. This
- 28:10Speaker 3: was either the night before or two nights before. I
- 28:12Speaker 3: was like, dude, Rue, I like grab her hands and
- 28:14Speaker 3: I'm looking at her and I go, dude, how much
- 28:18Speaker 3: fun did you have today? Because we were on the beach,
- 28:21Speaker 3: we had the water sides and stuff like that. How
- 28:23Speaker 3: much fun did you have today? And she just looks
- 28:26Speaker 3: at me because she goes, look at your nose when
- 28:28Speaker 3: I do this, and she just like grasp my nose.
- 28:30Speaker 1: Get off, I.
- 28:34Speaker 2: Said, Scarlett, you see that sand dune over there. You're
- 28:38Speaker 2: uncle Jordan and I. When we're little kids, we would
- 28:40Speaker 2: go play armymen on that sand dune with these little
- 28:43Speaker 2: green army men. We play there for hours and we played.
- 28:47Speaker 2: There's so much that if you go and dig in
- 28:49Speaker 2: that sand dune because it's protected and they don't get touched,
- 28:52Speaker 2: you could probably find some of the army men that
- 28:55Speaker 2: we played with. I've been able to find some throughout
- 28:57Speaker 2: the years. And she looked at me and she went
- 29:03Speaker 2: and I just fell the nice the hell you, Hanna,
- 29:07Speaker 2: What the fuck was that?
- 29:08Speaker 1: Dude? That's her cracking a coal one of that man,
- 29:13Speaker 1: that was her cracking a cold.
- 29:15Speaker 3: One moment, I look at my wife, so why are
- 29:17Speaker 3: we doing all this vacation? She she ain't gonna remember
- 29:19Speaker 3: any of this stuff.
- 29:20Speaker 2: Why are we doing this? It just needs to be
- 29:22Speaker 2: you and me. Let's get a sitter. What do we
- 29:25Speaker 2: do leave the kids for two weeks?
- 29:27Speaker 1: She doesn't get it.
- 29:29Speaker 2: Hey, Scarlet, by the way, has been doing dramatic squeezes
- 29:34Speaker 2: and I was like, I literally wanted to bring this
- 29:37Speaker 2: to the podcast because I was.
- 29:40Speaker 1: Like, do babies do this?
- 29:41Speaker 2: Where she'll just grab food when we eat with her
- 29:44Speaker 2: at dinner, and she'll squeeze it in her hand like
- 29:48Speaker 2: super hard, and she'll look at me. She'll just lock
- 29:50Speaker 2: eyes with me and start going and then all of
- 29:55Speaker 2: a sudden she'll go and like sit up and have
- 29:58Speaker 2: like the nicest smile.
- 30:00Speaker 1: I'm like, is she constipated? Like why is she doing that?
- 30:03Speaker 1: Do your kids do that at all?
- 30:05Speaker 3: They would go through like Scotty both through like when
- 30:07Speaker 3: they're around that age, Like I feel like they're just
- 30:09Speaker 3: getting used to being able to like figure out something
- 30:12Speaker 3: else that's new, like being able to squeeze, because they
- 30:16Speaker 3: would do that or like smush food or like just
- 30:18Speaker 3: be violent with food, yes, or like when they can
- 30:21Speaker 3: finally learn to drink and they're just like downing it
- 30:24Speaker 3: over and over, or they're just learning to tip it
- 30:25Speaker 3: back and they just keep tipping it back over and
- 30:27Speaker 3: over just because, Yeah, they're Like Scotty, now she can
- 30:31Speaker 3: learn that the milk can drip out of her bottle,
- 30:33Speaker 3: so she'll just sit there and like shake the bottle
- 30:34Speaker 3: and have fucking create a mess.
- 30:36Speaker 1: Scotty's a wolverine. Scotty.
- 30:39Speaker 3: The whole reason we called this episode or I called
- 30:42Speaker 3: this episode Operation shot Collar, is because that is what
- 30:46Speaker 3: needs to be on Scotty's neck. Scotty, she is an animal.
- 30:51Speaker 3: She's an Australian cattle dog. She needs to run. She
- 30:56Speaker 3: needs to move, yeah, at all times.
- 30:58Speaker 2: And heard the people into an area where she can
- 31:01Speaker 2: interact with them.
- 31:02Speaker 3: Climbing everything. She's just a busy body. Scotty's hard. Even
- 31:07Speaker 3: before we went on this two week vacation, my wife
- 31:09Speaker 3: brought it up to me and she wanted to do
- 31:10Speaker 3: big vacation. I'm like, sweetheart, it's going to be so
- 31:16Speaker 3: tough with Scottie, like she has shown us time and
- 31:20Speaker 3: time again, whether it's a thirty minute car ride, an hour,
- 31:25Speaker 3: four hours driving to thirty eight. She's shown us time
- 31:29Speaker 3: and time again.
- 31:32Speaker 2: She don't give a fuck man because Scotty, don't give
- 31:35Speaker 2: a fuck because Scott and Zilla.
- 31:38Speaker 3: She don't operate like that. No, she's very different than Rue.
- 31:41Speaker 3: Ru wasn't like a perfect sweetheart child. But Rue is
- 31:45Speaker 3: much calmer. Yes, she had a much calmer personality than
- 31:48Speaker 3: Scotty did. Yes, she could sit and relax. She's got
- 31:51Speaker 3: more patience to her. Scotty, doesn't we go on this
- 31:55Speaker 3: adventure the flights. I'm just telling you it's ain't going
- 31:59Speaker 3: to be a walk in the park. Yeah, and boil
- 32:02Speaker 3: was not.
- 32:04Speaker 2: Hey, there's a tweet because you're about to get into
- 32:08Speaker 2: a story and it's gonna answer this guy's question.
- 32:11Speaker 1: Yeah. This came from Connor Sears.
- 32:16Speaker 2: Connor said, Hey, I need some dad hacks from the
- 32:18Speaker 2: Sikas out there. About to go on my first flight
- 32:22Speaker 2: on Thursday with my two month old. Any tips or
- 32:25Speaker 2: hacks that you would have for your boy. Much appreciated.
- 32:28Speaker 2: That's a good one, good writing. Who's that from Connor
- 32:31Speaker 2: Sears x dot com formerly Twitter.
- 32:34Speaker 3: I would say the number one because it's a two
- 32:38Speaker 3: month old, so you're very much in the newborn you're
- 32:41Speaker 3: in the newborn phase. I would say, I don't know
- 32:44Speaker 3: when his flight is, but if you can time it
- 32:46Speaker 3: to where whether you delay the bottle or if you're
- 32:49Speaker 3: going and the it would be an early bottle. Whenever
- 32:52Speaker 3: you take off, whatever you're gonna do, time the bottle
- 32:55Speaker 3: as you're ascending out of the air, because it helps.
- 32:57Speaker 3: It helps keep their ears what from pop? It helps
- 33:00Speaker 3: keep their ears from popping.
- 33:01Speaker 1: Or their ears to pop.
- 33:03Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, because at that age too, it's like
- 33:05Speaker 3: after they get the bottle, it's usually you bottle, they
- 33:07Speaker 3: fall asleep or take a nap, but hitting the bottle
- 33:10Speaker 3: as you're taking off to minimize as much danger as possible.
- 33:15Speaker 3: Two month old, I don't feel like is as bad
- 33:17Speaker 3: now again, two month old might even be easier.
- 33:20Speaker 1: Might but we don't want to put that on travel.
- 33:22Speaker 1: We don't want to put that on we know, we don't.
- 33:24Speaker 1: We don't family shod we don't parent shame, We don't
- 33:26Speaker 1: parents shame.
- 33:27Speaker 2: When we traveled with Scarlett, uh, right around that two month, Yeah,
- 33:31Speaker 2: we sleep deprived her right before the flight. So whatever
- 33:35Speaker 2: that little stretch of two hours was that she would
- 33:38Speaker 2: have napped.
- 33:39Speaker 1: Yep.
- 33:40Speaker 2: Play play play play play play play play and you
- 33:42Speaker 2: are staying up. And as soon as you get on
- 33:45Speaker 2: the plane, and that plane gets on the tarmac, baba baba.
- 33:50Speaker 1: That's you cooking. You're cooking right there.
- 33:53Speaker 2: Because they're gonna ears, are gonna pop, they're gonna eat.
- 33:55Speaker 3: And then they Yeah, and if it's if it's an
- 33:57Speaker 3: early flight, that's all good. Like we would still you know,
- 34:00Speaker 3: we wake Scotti orrew up even earlier, early, because they're
- 34:04Speaker 3: still gonna be tired. But to your point, you play
- 34:06Speaker 3: with them, You keep them up because you know they're
- 34:07Speaker 3: gonna fall asleep again. Yes, Jack, keep them awake. I
- 34:10Speaker 3: know you want the bottle. You might give them, uh
- 34:12Speaker 3: and I'm guesstimating. Obviously it's been a minute. It's been
- 34:15Speaker 3: over a year since Scotty's been in that range. But
- 34:20Speaker 3: let's just say, you know, they have a five ounce bottle.
- 34:23Speaker 3: I'm making this up.
- 34:24Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 34:25Speaker 3: You might give them an ounce before you make the
- 34:27Speaker 3: trip to the airport, if they're fussy, if they're pissed off,
- 34:30Speaker 3: if their rattle just enough, just enough, like hey, you
- 34:33Speaker 3: can have a little snack. But the main event. The
- 34:35Speaker 3: main course is gonna happen when you take off? Oh yeah,
- 34:38Speaker 3: on the plane.
- 34:39Speaker 2: Oh yeah, and we're gonna get that tummy full. Yeah,
- 34:41Speaker 2: you're gonna be.
- 34:42Speaker 1: Hungry and you're gonna be sleepy. Yeah. Yeah, that's the
- 34:45Speaker 1: meve Connor.
- 34:47Speaker 2: What's the myth with Scott Zilla that when there's gonna move.
- 34:49Speaker 1: It's hang on and prey.
- 34:52Speaker 3: Hey you're laughing, dude, I I have, I have. It
- 35:00Speaker 3: never felt like the right time of telling Charro because
- 35:04Speaker 3: we were even over. The travel back was a full
- 35:07Speaker 3: twenty four hours because a flight got delayed. We were
- 35:09Speaker 3: in the airport, the first airport for a few hours.
- 35:12Speaker 3: We landed in Newark. We were delayed so much we
- 35:14Speaker 3: had to rebook the second flight all the way back.
- 35:16Speaker 3: We had to rebook the Newark flight. No, we're supposed
- 35:19Speaker 3: to be in Nashville by six pm on Saturday. Yeah,
- 35:21Speaker 3: we didn't take off from Newark until nine thirty at night.
- 35:25Speaker 3: We landed in Nashville at eleven pm. Italy time is
- 35:29Speaker 3: seven hours ahead, so we essentially operated a full twenty
- 35:33Speaker 3: four hours. Because our first flight in Italy was supposed
- 35:36Speaker 3: to take off from Venice at eleven am. That didn't
- 35:39Speaker 3: happen until one thirty, so we were delayed quite a bit.
- 35:43Speaker 3: We spent probably a total of eight hours in airports. Yeah,
- 35:48Speaker 3: and then obviously the long flight from Venice to Newark
- 35:52Speaker 3: it was a grind.
- 35:53Speaker 1: That's not even delayed, that's just derailed.
- 35:55Speaker 3: Yeah, and you were asking, how do you there's no
- 36:01Speaker 3: stopping Scottie the whole saying you can never stop him.
- 36:04Speaker 3: You can only hope to contain him. That is scott Zilla.
- 36:08Speaker 3: Fortunately there was a sickoh a tier one. Johnny shout
- 36:11Speaker 3: out Johnny from Buffalow, who was sitting next to us,
- 36:15Speaker 3: that I'm just having a rapport with him before we
- 36:17Speaker 3: get on the plane. I see that he's sitting next
- 36:19Speaker 3: to us, so I'm just saying, hey, Johnny, this one
- 36:23Speaker 3: right here. She's gonna be hard. You're gonna hear. I
- 36:27Speaker 3: just want to apologize that. He's like, oh, buddy, he
- 36:30Speaker 3: had his girlfriend with them, maybe fiance, maybe wife, I
- 36:32Speaker 3: don't know. And we were doing the old joke he
- 36:36Speaker 3: needs some birth control. This will be the birth control.
- 36:39Speaker 1: It's a ping punk ball in the tornado.
- 36:41Speaker 3: Yeah. Unfortunately, the family behind us, they had a young
- 36:44Speaker 3: maybe eight nine months old, so we were kind of
- 36:48Speaker 3: we were in a good we weren't alone, but we
- 36:51Speaker 3: were just letting people know this one right here.
- 36:54Speaker 2: Hey, if you hear crying when we're over the Atlantic,
- 36:58Speaker 2: that's me.
- 36:59Speaker 1: And my wife who's listening right now.
- 37:03Speaker 3: The respect that I have for her, yeah, the guilt
- 37:08Speaker 3: that I hold because she had to be the one
- 37:12Speaker 3: that dealt with Scotty.
- 37:14Speaker 1: The majority of the time.
- 37:16Speaker 3: I did my best, and I could even tell when
- 37:19Speaker 3: she's at her breaking point. She's like, you take her,
- 37:21Speaker 3: you gotta take her, and I'm taking I know I
- 37:22Speaker 3: got to take her, and in just in the back
- 37:24Speaker 3: of my mind, I also know she's gonna be screaming
- 37:28Speaker 3: for you again when this happens.
- 37:30Speaker 1: And it's not minutes and minutes.
- 37:32Speaker 3: This isn't the Rolodex where we travel and Charlie does
- 37:35Speaker 3: everything with the kids. Like again, RU operated a little
- 37:38Speaker 3: bit differently. This parental preforation that Scotti has for mom
- 37:43Speaker 3: right now is obsessive. And I felt so bad for
- 37:49Speaker 3: my wife because I snuck a thirty minute nap in.
- 37:53Speaker 1: She stuck no napping during.
- 37:56Speaker 3: The duration of that I thought four hours an eight
- 37:59Speaker 3: hour flight, Yeah, Charlie didn't really Charlie didn't really sleep
- 38:01Speaker 3: on that tomorrow because Scotti just wants Charle. But then
- 38:07Speaker 3: she wants Charles and she's on Charroo. But again she's
- 38:09Speaker 3: a busy body. She wants down. Charlie just wrestles with
- 38:13Speaker 3: her the whole time because Scotty wants to stand, she
- 38:15Speaker 3: wants to do stuff. And even when you're wrestling with her,
- 38:18Speaker 3: Scotty's got that grin, that little shit grin and laugh
- 38:22Speaker 3: that you're playing with her. And then she gets to
- 38:25Speaker 3: a point to where she's mad and you just put
- 38:26Speaker 3: her on the ground to wur She's walking up and
- 38:28Speaker 3: down the aisle. We're letting her run around. But Scotty's
- 38:30Speaker 3: not scared to make friends. So Scotti will the couple
- 38:34Speaker 3: in the back that like the eight nine month old,
- 38:35Speaker 3: she's like baby baby. I'm like, yeah, baby. She just
- 38:38Speaker 3: wanted to play with that baby the whole time. And
- 38:40Speaker 3: then she, the sweet mother of the child, starts doing
- 38:43Speaker 3: high fives with Scotti.
- 38:45Speaker 1: Thank you mother of that child, Thank.
- 38:47Speaker 3: You mother of that child. And she did phenomenal. But
- 38:50Speaker 3: in our head, it's like, you don't want this baby
- 38:53Speaker 3: just sitting here. You don't want Scotty just in there.
- 38:55Speaker 3: You're doing high fives for hours hours, but Scotty will
- 38:58Speaker 3: do that. Grab Scotty and Scotty's just again you're fighting
- 39:02Speaker 3: with her.
- 39:03Speaker 1: The whole time until you can get her down.
- 39:05Speaker 3: For some that Scotty maybe on the duration of that
- 39:07Speaker 3: twenty four hour travel probably slept a total of three
- 39:11Speaker 3: hours four hours.
- 39:12Speaker 1: Oh perfect, good, yeah good, But it was.
- 39:16Speaker 3: The flight home was extremely, extremely, extremely difficult. It almost
- 39:25Speaker 3: there were moments to where we made comments to each
- 39:27Speaker 3: other this might have ruined our entire vacation because we're
- 39:31Speaker 3: gonna need another. We're gonna need another, We're gonna need
- 39:34Speaker 3: soft tissue, deep tissue massages. We almost need another vacation
- 39:38Speaker 3: from this hell that we've put ourselves in traveling back
- 39:42Speaker 3: from Italy because of Scotty.
- 39:45Speaker 1: Scotty.
- 39:45Speaker 2: I love you, We love you, Scotty love Scotty's dad
- 39:49Speaker 2: loves you.
- 39:50Speaker 3: Scotty is a shitload of fun. Her personality is incredible.
- 39:55Speaker 3: She has a blast. But she just does not sit still. Breakfast,
- 40:00Speaker 3: doesn't sit still, has to get down dinner, sees a slide,
- 40:03Speaker 3: side slide, doesn't eat.
- 40:05Speaker 1: She's got it.
- 40:06Speaker 3: She's again when I say Australian cattle dog, Yeah, she's
- 40:10Speaker 3: like an animal where you have to let her down
- 40:12Speaker 3: and just feed her on the side of the table. Yeah,
- 40:14Speaker 3: you just have to let her take bites. Yeah, so
- 40:16Speaker 3: she can run around, climb stairs. And again she's only
- 40:18Speaker 3: twenty months old, so you're still having a monitor at
- 40:21Speaker 3: all times because she could easily slip.
- 40:22Speaker 1: She slept and felled plenty of times.
- 40:24Speaker 2: Oh absolutely, and it is right back to it, if
- 40:27Speaker 2: not faster and more after it.
- 40:29Speaker 1: After she falls, that's not gonna slow her down.
- 40:33Speaker 3: And some she takes a thump and she just gets
- 40:35Speaker 3: right back up and tying, and I like, well, we
- 40:38Speaker 3: stop breathing because right or just like watching her and
- 40:41Speaker 3: observer he she gets up and keeps it moving, Like
- 40:43Speaker 3: is she gonna cry?
- 40:44Speaker 1: She's not gonna cry. She's tough as shit, she is.
- 40:46Speaker 2: I've never seen anything encapsulate a child's personality like that
- 40:51Speaker 2: video of the bounce House where you were poolside, and
- 40:54Speaker 2: Will has this video where he's filming Scottie from super
- 40:58Speaker 2: far away and Scotti is purposefully jumping into this ballpit.
- 41:04Speaker 1: That is like she that toy was like a big
- 41:07Speaker 1: girl toy.
- 41:08Speaker 3: You're talking about the bounce house. Yes, there is no ballpit.
- 41:11Speaker 3: Oh there, she's jumpings even more sense. She's jumping off
- 41:15Speaker 3: the bouncy house onto the ground perfect like there's no.
- 41:19Speaker 1: Ballpit at the bottom, good two feet.
- 41:22Speaker 2: Yeah, and she just continually climbs and is jumping and
- 41:26Speaker 2: is basically just putting her legs out completely straight, hitting
- 41:30Speaker 2: her butt on the ground. On one of them, she
- 41:33Speaker 2: hits and you kind of see her head go and
- 41:35Speaker 2: you behind.
- 41:37Speaker 1: The phone, oh, you kind of just watch her.
- 41:40Speaker 2: And then all of a sudden, her head pokes out
- 41:42Speaker 2: from uh, underneath the bounce house and she looks at you.
- 41:45Speaker 1: And just hit my smiling.
- 41:47Speaker 3: She's a psycho, she's a wolverine man because she's trying
- 41:52Speaker 3: to jump off the bounce house and hit the bouncy
- 41:53Speaker 3: part with her butt and kind of propel herself.
- 41:55Speaker 1: Yeah for her.
- 41:56Speaker 3: One time she hits the bounce house and just poured
- 42:01Speaker 3: face chest on the ground. She pops back up, gets
- 42:03Speaker 3: back on it. Yeah, she's uh, she's tough. With the
- 42:07Speaker 3: vacation a plus. Good vacation was a plus. So we
- 42:12Speaker 3: hit three different spots. We were gone for two weeks. Yeah,
- 42:15Speaker 3: so we did like three or four nights in Austria.
- 42:19Speaker 1: And while we were in Austria, we're like in the Alps,
- 42:21Speaker 1: the whole time.
- 42:22Speaker 3: So we hit On one of the days we go
- 42:24Speaker 3: out hit the gondola, We climbed some mountains. Another day
- 42:29Speaker 3: we go out to Hallstat Holstat Halstat, which is essentially
- 42:33Speaker 3: where Frozen got inspiration for. So we wanted to take
- 42:39Speaker 3: Ru to go see you know where Frozen was. This,
- 42:43Speaker 3: This is where aarondel is. This is where Hanan and
- 42:45Speaker 3: Elsa are. She sees the castle or not the castle,
- 42:49Speaker 3: but the church with the big clock ship. Where's the castle?
- 42:51Speaker 1: I don't know. We gotta find them.
- 42:53Speaker 3: But we went there for a day, took a trip
- 42:57Speaker 3: that was amazing. Then we go over to the the.
- 43:00Speaker 1: Dolomites, Dolomites, Dola meat, the Dolomites, the Dolomites, the.
- 43:07Speaker 3: Sunweese hotel resort, phenomenal, phenomenal spot.
- 43:13Speaker 1: Everything's like farm, the.
- 43:14Speaker 3: Table they have like lama walk, so Scotty, she loves
- 43:18Speaker 3: her stuffy the lama. That's her safe space. So they
- 43:21Speaker 3: have lamas there. Scotti is in all Islamas. We get
- 43:24Speaker 3: to go on a lama walk. Rue gets to ride
- 43:27Speaker 3: like a pony Trill rode a horse. They go on
- 43:29Speaker 3: a horse walk.
- 43:30Speaker 1: Oh damn. Yeah.
- 43:31Speaker 3: We go out to what is it loose loosen, loose on.
- 43:35Speaker 3: We make a trip there for a day to where
- 43:37Speaker 3: we go and have a picnic. We're out, you know,
- 43:39Speaker 3: around just playgrounds, enjoying ourselves. But the Dolomites incredible. Yeah,
- 43:46Speaker 3: and then we our third stop was Carol Carole Carole Carole,
- 43:52Speaker 3: which is by like an hour outside of Venice. It's
- 43:55Speaker 3: on a beach, so we got a beach vibe, we
- 43:56Speaker 3: got the mountain vibe, we got the beach vibe, and
- 43:59Speaker 3: there was a well, there's water slides at each hotel,
- 44:03Speaker 3: which I didn't know about. Y'all were ripping those water slides, ripping,
- 44:07Speaker 3: bro y'all were ripping those waters.
- 44:09Speaker 1: Rue loves the water slides.
- 44:12Speaker 3: There was one that you can't go on, like the
- 44:14Speaker 3: first part we were at in Austria. They had it
- 44:18Speaker 3: was like this water park, this indoor water park game
- 44:23Speaker 3: five or six different slides. I'm talking simple ones, medium ones,
- 44:29Speaker 3: ones that are two that are three stories up.
- 44:31Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 44:31Speaker 3: Yeah, one of them you had to do on a
- 44:33Speaker 3: raft because in the middle of the in the middle
- 44:36Speaker 3: of the water slide, it's like this half pipe you
- 44:38Speaker 3: get shot out into, you know, then you go back
- 44:41Speaker 3: in the total then you come out the exit on
- 44:43Speaker 3: like a little half pipe before you come up. And
- 44:45Speaker 3: then the other one was just like a speed demon
- 44:47Speaker 3: one all enclosed circular, going all around the little indoor
- 44:51Speaker 3: water park area.
- 44:53Speaker 1: Yeah, and the ones on the third.
- 44:54Speaker 3: Floor you couldn't ride if you weren't at least nine
- 44:57Speaker 3: years old.
- 44:58Speaker 1: Oh damn hits them both?
- 45:00Speaker 2: No, yeah, how'd you swing that?
- 45:04Speaker 1: They don't have great security there. Come.
- 45:07Speaker 3: It was more like asking Rue, hey, would you want
- 45:09Speaker 3: to do this? I would hold her on the one
- 45:11Speaker 3: with the raft I went down at first. You can
- 45:13Speaker 3: kind of my own instinctual guest could do this one
- 45:17Speaker 3: or not if she wants to. We could do this
- 45:19Speaker 3: one where I hold her Yeah, yeah, but the other
- 45:22Speaker 3: one no, or you can't go on that one.
- 45:25Speaker 1: She didn't want to.
- 45:26Speaker 3: On day one, Parks, we were with our former neighbors
- 45:29Speaker 3: that were good friends with shut Out.
- 45:31Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 45:31Speaker 3: Shot at the Paler's. Paler made Travel. She's a travel
- 45:34Speaker 3: agent who helped put this trip together.
- 45:36Speaker 1: For that I forgot about it. She's as stud Megan.
- 45:39Speaker 3: They have two kiddos around Roue's age, Parks who's five,
- 45:42Speaker 3: Livy who's four, and Parks He's he's one that gets
- 45:47Speaker 3: after it. He doesn't want to do the big dog slide.
- 45:49Speaker 3: It's the red slide, big red slide. He doesn't want
- 45:52Speaker 3: to do it. This is on day one, so I'm like, good,
- 45:55Speaker 3: you wouldn't want to do this one anyway. It's dark
- 45:57Speaker 3: the whole way down, it's fast, it fucking jerks you
- 45:59Speaker 3: around a little bit, and again you've got to be
- 46:01Speaker 3: at least nine to get on this one. Day two
- 46:03Speaker 3: comes around, Rue gets an itch that she wants to
- 46:06Speaker 3: do it, so we're going on to the top and
- 46:08Speaker 3: I'm like, man, I really don't know. I'm saying, I
- 46:10Speaker 3: really don't know. I'm I can kind of push the
- 46:12Speaker 3: boundaries if I'm like, I think Ru could do it
- 46:14Speaker 3: if she if she's confident and she wants to, then
- 46:17Speaker 3: I would be more instinctual on like letting her do it.
- 46:19Speaker 3: But I'm like, let dad do this one again because
- 46:21Speaker 3: I've done it like several times, and I'm like, I
- 46:23Speaker 3: don't think this is gonna work. So I'm sitting there, well,
- 46:26Speaker 3: would I tell her to like cover her eyes the
- 46:27Speaker 3: whole time down? YadA, YadA, YadA. So I go down first,
- 46:31Speaker 3: speeding all the way down. They have this monitor that
- 46:33Speaker 3: shows you your times on how fast you get down
- 46:36Speaker 3: to the bottom. Me and my boy Brian, Brian Paler,
- 46:38Speaker 3: we're trying to like break our records from the day before.
- 46:42Speaker 3: We're trying to get sub seven sub seven seconds on
- 46:44Speaker 3: getting all the way down that side on the big
- 46:46Speaker 3: red slide.
- 46:46Speaker 1: Sub seven.
- 46:47Speaker 3: That's hard to do it, hard, hard, my boy rookie.
- 46:52Speaker 1: No.
- 46:53Speaker 3: So I go down the first time because I'm trying
- 46:55Speaker 3: to test it out for Rue. I'm trying to go
- 46:57Speaker 3: as kind of as slow as i can to see
- 46:58Speaker 3: what I could tell Rue if she as go on this.
- 47:01Speaker 3: I get to the bottom of my wife Charles. She's
- 47:03Speaker 3: standing in the hold in Scottie. I get out of
- 47:05Speaker 3: the water and I'm like, man, I'm gonna be honest,
- 47:07Speaker 3: I don't think I don't think Ruth should do this.
- 47:09Speaker 3: I think she could get hurt, even if she wants to.
- 47:11Speaker 3: I don't think she should do it. Yeah, And she's like, well,
- 47:14Speaker 3: she's up there right now. She's with Brian though. So
- 47:18Speaker 3: I'm at the bottom and I look all the way
- 47:20Speaker 3: up and I'm like, Brian, Brian, he like looks over
- 47:23Speaker 3: the rail and I go, don't let her do it.
- 47:26Speaker 3: He looks down at me and goes she's already went down.
- 47:30Speaker 3: No panic and su me because I'm like.
- 47:33Speaker 1: Oh God, like this isn't gonna be good. Ruth's flying
- 47:37Speaker 1: down this slide.
- 47:38Speaker 3: I get in the water because there's about ten feet
- 47:41Speaker 3: of like narrow water that you get int too, where
- 47:43Speaker 3: it's like up to shin level that like you're like
- 47:45Speaker 3: standing in there as you explode into the water. I'm
- 47:48Speaker 3: like standing there, waiting on just looking at the dark
- 47:50Speaker 3: abyss of this tunnel of this red slide for Rue
- 47:53Speaker 3: to come out, just wondering, Oh my god, is she
- 47:55Speaker 3: crying already? Like what's happening? I hope she's okay. She
- 47:58Speaker 3: shoots out of this slide, standing there and she's underwater
- 48:01Speaker 3: for a second. She comes up and I go, I go,
- 48:04Speaker 3: how was it? And she's like she's like stands up
- 48:07Speaker 3: and gets everything together.
- 48:08Speaker 1: She goes good and she rips that thing for the
- 48:12Speaker 1: rest of the day, Oh dude.
- 48:15Speaker 3: And honestly a massive relief because I was, legitimately I
- 48:18Speaker 3: was like, no, I ain't no way, Brian, no, no, no,
- 48:20Speaker 3: shut it down.
- 48:21Speaker 1: She's already on slide bro shout out Brian.
- 48:24Speaker 2: Shot just real probably just following him up the stairs.
- 48:31Speaker 2: He's like, hey, where's your dad at I told her, sorry, I'm.
- 48:35Speaker 1: Gonna let daddad test this out for you. I'll say
- 48:37Speaker 1: you can do this. But she didn't wait for my signal.
- 48:40Speaker 2: She's like, oh, Brian could tell me if it's good
- 48:42Speaker 2: or not. Brian, go down it. Yeah, sure kid.
- 48:45Speaker 3: These slides are long enough to where it's got stop
- 48:48Speaker 3: lights up above at the entranced lifeguard.
- 48:52Speaker 1: So once you yeah, there's no lifeguard.
- 48:54Speaker 3: So once you go, it's sitting there on red light
- 48:56Speaker 3: and it gets to the bottom, then a green light's like, hey,
- 48:58Speaker 3: let's the next person know that they can go.
- 49:00Speaker 1: Shout out Italy. I like that.
- 49:02Speaker 2: Ye dude, that's so epic. What a coming of age
- 49:08Speaker 2: moment because that's the type of stuff that you bring
- 49:10Speaker 2: to the lunch room where you're like, oh, by the way,
- 49:14Speaker 2: went down and slide that you have to be nine
- 49:15Speaker 2: to go down?
- 49:16Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah yeah. She loved it, bro, And I'm
- 49:19Speaker 3: talking every spot was. There's pros and cons to each spot,
- 49:24Speaker 3: but we loved them all. Like the trip was incredible.
- 49:28Speaker 3: We got hit. Oh my god, it's been so long.
- 49:30Speaker 3: I forgot about that. When we left Austria. The driver
- 49:34Speaker 3: that we had that was chauffeur in us to is
- 49:35Speaker 3: a four hour drive. Again, all of the travel, so.
- 49:38Speaker 1: Traveling there, four hour drive.
- 49:41Speaker 3: From Austria where we were at to the Dolomites was
- 49:45Speaker 3: four hours. And then from the Dolomites down to the beach,
- 49:49Speaker 3: yeah that was an hour outside of Venice and Cairole, that.
- 49:52Speaker 1: Was a four hour drive. Yeah, so all of the travel,
- 49:56Speaker 1: that chaos, that stuff is exhausting and it's hard as fuck.
- 49:59Speaker 1: Beauty full sights though, I'm sure beautiful sits.
- 50:02Speaker 3: I got a little car sickness because again, you're just
- 50:04Speaker 3: in this and you know your boy's gotta you're in
- 50:07Speaker 3: the you got a little things are crazy at driving
- 50:09Speaker 3: narrow roads. And we left the first stop Austria to
- 50:15Speaker 3: go to the Dolomites. We weren't even outside of the
- 50:18Speaker 3: street off of our street from the hotel. When we're
- 50:20Speaker 3: about to embark on this four hour drive, our driver
- 50:24Speaker 3: pulls out, he kind of got He slow rolls a
- 50:27Speaker 3: stop sign and we get fucking smacked by a car.
- 50:31Speaker 1: Yeah, you got hit by You got in a car wreck,
- 50:35Speaker 1: bro on your vacation. We got in a car wreck.
- 50:38Speaker 3: And this dude, he was already talking a little too much,
- 50:40Speaker 3: like being too super nice. I'm like, bro, just listen,
- 50:43Speaker 3: it's gonna be a long drive. Like just we got
- 50:45Speaker 3: four hours, man, yeah, rud. They're like they're already complaining
- 50:47Speaker 3: a little bit, like we got a ride ahead of us.
- 50:49Speaker 1: You got a ponytail, we get it.
- 50:51Speaker 3: Yeah, that little fucking rat tails got that should have
- 50:53Speaker 3: been the tail right there.
- 50:54Speaker 4: May is not.
- 50:57Speaker 1: He ain't got this bud. Yeah, we're not even now,
- 51:00Speaker 1: we haven't even left the area.
- 51:02Speaker 3: And we pull out and I feel him kind of
- 51:04Speaker 3: slow roll this stops sign, but I'm not necessarily looking,
- 51:08Speaker 3: and I see my wife because she's on the driver
- 51:10Speaker 3: side of the van, and so is Rue in the
- 51:12Speaker 3: back seat in her car seat. And I hear Charles
- 51:16Speaker 3: start to say something. I look over and again it's
- 51:19Speaker 3: he stops. It's a highway to where cars are flying
- 51:24Speaker 3: probably going forty miles an hour, thirty forty miles an
- 51:27Speaker 3: hour on the on this mountains. Yeah, kilometers they do
- 51:30Speaker 3: the km's there. I canna meat there, And Charles says,
- 51:37Speaker 3: I mean, I look over and I see this car
- 51:39Speaker 3: coming to where it's inevitable. What's gonna happen unless they
- 51:42Speaker 3: rip it to the left. But there's on coming traffic
- 51:44Speaker 3: coming the other way, and just sure enough, everybody's able
- 51:48Speaker 3: to stop, but this car smacks us on the front tire.
- 51:52Speaker 3: We get show gage shot like, we don't know what
- 51:55Speaker 3: the fuck happens. We're all paying it. I'll look over
- 51:56Speaker 3: at char you all right, look over at Rue. We're
- 51:58Speaker 3: checking on the kids, everybody.
- 52:00Speaker 1: He was cool.
- 52:00Speaker 3: He looks back to us as everybody, Okay, buddy, what
- 52:03Speaker 3: the fuck was that?
- 52:04Speaker 1: We get out of the car.
- 52:05Speaker 3: The bumper and everything smashed in his car? You can
- 52:08Speaker 3: he could barely back it up. He's like, car's broken.
- 52:10Speaker 3: Car don't work. He can't drive us to the Dolomites. Now,
- 52:14Speaker 3: he came from I forget where he came from, but
- 52:16Speaker 3: it was a five hour drive for him to come.
- 52:17Speaker 1: Whatever company he's with.
- 52:19Speaker 3: I'm like, how far were you to get to us
- 52:21Speaker 3: because we're kind of out there in the Alps, and
- 52:23Speaker 3: he's like, it took me about five hours. I'm like,
- 52:25Speaker 3: oh my god, look at chart. I'm like, I don't
- 52:26Speaker 3: know if we're fucking getting to the Dolomites today because
- 52:30Speaker 3: I don't how the company works.
- 52:32Speaker 1: I have no clue.
- 52:33Speaker 3: This is like a smaller town that we're in when
- 52:35Speaker 3: we were in Austria and.
- 52:38Speaker 1: It was bad.
- 52:39Speaker 3: The other car that hit us, their cars, their front
- 52:42Speaker 3: of the cars like smashed in. Fortunately she lived like
- 52:45Speaker 3: right around the corner. Her mom bikes down. No, yeah,
- 52:49Speaker 3: cops come everything, and We're just kind of standing on
- 52:51Speaker 3: the side of the road. They're talking Italian and shit,
- 52:56Speaker 3: and I'm just thinking, how are we going to get
- 52:58Speaker 3: out of here? And we megan or traveledger who they
- 53:02Speaker 3: were still there. They were about to go to Germany
- 53:04Speaker 3: for a couple of days when we when we were
- 53:05Speaker 3: going off to the Doomites. And fortunately we just found
- 53:10Speaker 3: this big this taxi service that had a vehicle that
- 53:12Speaker 3: was big enough that we just paid euros to like
- 53:16Speaker 3: we got to get there, Like, we can't stay back,
- 53:19Speaker 3: we can't just hang back. We had no clue how
- 53:21Speaker 3: we're going to get to the Dolomites. Cause he's fucked,
- 53:24Speaker 3: he's scared for his life. He's like, I'm gonna get
- 53:25Speaker 3: fired him. Oh yeah, you probably should. Yeah, like you
- 53:28Speaker 3: got a family in the vehicle. Yeah, And buddy, I
- 53:33Speaker 3: saw it. I don't know what you said in Italian
- 53:35Speaker 3: to everybody else and what the lady was saying that
- 53:37Speaker 3: was I don't know what went down, but you slow
- 53:40Speaker 3: rolled that stop sign. Yeah, And he was scared for
- 53:45Speaker 3: his life, and he's like, let me try in. He's
- 53:47Speaker 3: trying to call his company and my boss blah blah
- 53:48Speaker 3: blah and say, hey, we're gonna get a taxi.
- 53:50Speaker 1: We're gonna be all good.
- 53:50Speaker 3: He's like, no, please don't do that, like, please let
- 53:53Speaker 3: me get I was like, buddy, how long is this
- 53:55Speaker 3: driver gonna take to get here? You took you five hours?
- 53:57Speaker 3: Like where's this other guy gonna come from? He didn't know,
- 54:00Speaker 3: And I'm like, we're just gonna get this taxi. He's like,
- 54:02Speaker 3: I don't have the money to pay for your taxi,
- 54:05Speaker 3: and like you don't have to pay for the taxi.
- 54:07Speaker 3: We're just gonna get the taxi. He's like, you might
- 54:09Speaker 3: tell my boss that. I'll tell your boss whatever you want.
- 54:11Speaker 1: Or like, are we gonna ask for a refund? Like yeah,
- 54:13Speaker 1: you're goddamn right, we're gonna ask for a refund. We
- 54:15Speaker 1: didn't get out of the parking lot. We just got
- 54:17Speaker 1: in a car wreck, buddy. Yeah, and uh, anyway, we
- 54:22Speaker 1: take the taxi, we get to the Dolomites.
- 54:25Speaker 3: And god, yeah, I don't know where that or that guy.
- 54:28Speaker 3: He seemed like scared enough. I don't know, like what
- 54:30Speaker 3: the company is he worked for, But dude, we got
- 54:33Speaker 3: smacked by a car.
- 54:35Speaker 2: Shout out to y'all staying in it and hope for
- 54:38Speaker 2: the best for that guy.
- 54:39Speaker 1: But I hope he's not professionally driving for a while.
- 54:42Speaker 3: Yeah, he started. I could tell he felt bad. Clearly
- 54:46Speaker 3: he's yea, he felt bad. I'm with you. I'm just
- 54:49Speaker 3: trying to figure out. We get to the Dolomites, bro,
- 54:51Speaker 3: We're all good. Everybody's safe. Nobody's dinged up. Could have
- 54:55Speaker 3: been bad bad if you a couple more feet for him,
- 54:58Speaker 3: that's his door. Yeah, any farther, that's my wife. Any farther,
- 55:02Speaker 3: that's Rue in the back. Yeah, we were We were lucky.
- 55:08Speaker 1: He was lucky. He was lucky. He was lucky. Yes,
- 55:12Speaker 1: we were lucky. He was lucky.
- 55:13Speaker 3: Like it very unfortunate situation. But at all the spots
- 55:18Speaker 3: we're at due incredible time. Well honestly so, it was
- 55:22Speaker 3: just so nice to be kind of gone. It takes
- 55:24Speaker 3: a few days to get fully checked out because we're
- 55:26Speaker 3: seven hours ahead, get fully checked out out of everything
- 55:30Speaker 3: back home, when I was never really fully checked out
- 55:32Speaker 3: because there's stuff going on here at the shop moving parts.
- 55:35Speaker 1: That happened.
- 55:35Speaker 3: But as far as like getting to enjoy vacation, getting
- 55:38Speaker 3: to be with the family, just us four taking on
- 55:41Speaker 3: all these different all these different stops. The cost is
- 55:45Speaker 3: it's it's expensive and exhausting and it's very chaotic at times.
- 55:49Speaker 3: But the payout, the getting to see Ruin, Scottie and
- 55:53Speaker 3: us just have a good time over in Italy, it
- 55:57Speaker 3: was a plus.
- 55:57Speaker 1: What what was your krack of cold one of the trip?
- 56:00Speaker 1: Would you say?
- 56:01Speaker 2: Crack cole one hard man and crack a cold one
- 56:05Speaker 2: is brought to us by Biologo.
- 56:06Speaker 3: Of course, when we look at these new new and
- 56:08Speaker 3: improved cans, you got classic grape I'm on right here,
- 56:11Speaker 3: the new flavors Raspberry Subert. But you got a little
- 56:14Speaker 3: ginger ass. Someone tagged me seeing that ginger ail is
- 56:18Speaker 3: the top dog.
- 56:19Speaker 1: They're pretty stinking good.
- 56:21Speaker 2: Yes, Ollipop of course is still doing it's buy two
- 56:24Speaker 2: cans and they will pay you back for one. You
- 56:27Speaker 2: can do that Drinkollipop dot com Ford slash bw TB
- 56:33Speaker 2: and that's available at on Amazon online Drinkollipop dot com
- 56:38Speaker 2: Fort slash BWTB Walmart Target nationwide, nationwide refrigeration refrigerated aisle.
- 56:46Speaker 1: Check them out. Shout out to you drop, Thank you ollipop,
- 56:48Speaker 1: Thank you ollipop.
- 56:49Speaker 3: I don't like have a distinct crack a cold one
- 56:53Speaker 3: because we did some cool shit man Venice personally, Oh,
- 56:59Speaker 3: tell me about the dude. The architecture beautiful, the city wonderful.
- 57:04Speaker 2: I hear all everywhere. It's marble flooring everywhere.
- 57:08Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, I mean the stone there's marble all the
- 57:13Speaker 3: streets and things like that. Very narrow, it's all water.
- 57:16Speaker 3: There's no like car traffic anywhere. It's very cool to experience.
- 57:20Speaker 3: Hot day yeah, upper eighties, round ninety okay, very hot day.
- 57:25Speaker 3: We spent an entire day there because Charro she wanted
- 57:28Speaker 3: to shop there because again, if you shop like over there,
- 57:31Speaker 3: you can get purses and stuff.
- 57:33Speaker 1: Like that for cheaper. Oh way cheaper, yeah, way cheaper.
- 57:36Speaker 3: Oh yeah, because that's where going on that she wanted
- 57:38Speaker 3: the girls to see Venice, and it was again hot.
- 57:43Speaker 3: I wasn't. It's not an experience that I would do again.
- 57:47Speaker 3: I'm glad I did it, but would I go back
- 57:50Speaker 3: and do it again? Probably not really? Yeah, Venice, Yeah, Venice,
- 57:56Speaker 3: VENI veniez ch.
- 57:58Speaker 2: That's that's surprising you did, did you know?
- 58:01Speaker 3: Maybe it was because of just the overall experience of
- 58:03Speaker 3: having two kiddos with us. I was because you're doing
- 58:06Speaker 3: nothing but walking the entire time. And I'm not talking
- 58:10Speaker 3: just walks like you gotta because again it's it's like water,
- 58:13Speaker 3: it's canals and shit like that. Ever, so there's bridges
- 58:16Speaker 3: with stairs to go over top. So we had the
- 58:18Speaker 3: stroller and I'm having to carry the fucking stroller over
- 58:21Speaker 3: all of the bridges and stairs. Some people would help
- 58:24Speaker 3: out every now and then, but it's just it's your
- 58:26Speaker 3: it's your boy bending over our root.
- 58:27Speaker 1: Can you get out? Can you walk over the thing?
- 58:29Speaker 3: I gotta carry fucking thirty pounds we got on this stroller. Yeah,
- 58:32Speaker 3: because your backpack up like you got all the bells
- 58:35Speaker 3: and whistles to last a day out there, because you
- 58:37Speaker 3: take it. We took an hour drive to get out
- 58:39Speaker 3: to Venice. Once you're in it, you're there. We're taking
- 58:41Speaker 3: the gondolas. The gondola ride was wonderful.
- 58:44Speaker 1: I bet that was sick. So sick did they seeing
- 58:46Speaker 1: it all?
- 58:48Speaker 3: Oh no, no, no, now that you say that, they
- 58:51Speaker 3: kind of pissed me off that they didn't.
- 58:52Speaker 1: Yeah, what what's up with that?
- 58:54Speaker 3: Sing to me in a delly or Venetian guy was
- 59:00Speaker 3: It's very clear that they do Venetian over here.
- 59:02Speaker 2: Okay, Yeah he's different. Hey buddy, you do whatever you want.
- 59:06Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah.
- 59:06Speaker 3: He doesn't like the tourism that's taking place in Venice.
- 59:09Speaker 3: He's like ever since the nineties, ever since like COVID.
- 59:12Speaker 3: Oh yeah, last thirty year has been a bit of
- 59:13Speaker 3: an uproar for the locals. Oh yeah, commercialize it a
- 59:16Speaker 3: little bit.
- 59:17Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 59:17Speaker 2: There there was some airbnbs, airbnb's, there was some big
- 59:20Speaker 2: music festival that really sut them off.
- 59:23Speaker 3: Yeah, he's got some he's got some stuff in the basement.
- 59:26Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, yeah that he was sharing inventing to us
- 59:29Speaker 3: as we're tourists coming over there.
- 59:31Speaker 2: Hey, you keep our city alive and are able for
- 59:34Speaker 2: us to pay for our livelihood.
- 59:35Speaker 1: But also fuck you don't come here.
- 59:38Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, you're our bread and butter, but we hate you.
- 59:42Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 59:42Speaker 3: But the fifteen thousand steps, the ninety degree heat again,
- 59:47Speaker 3: would I do it again?
- 59:48Speaker 1: Probably not.
- 59:50Speaker 2: That Venice feels to me, probably equally to Paris, as
- 59:56Speaker 2: like a city of romance, a romantic place for you
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: to go there with Charro. You're sitting down to dinner.
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: The glasses of wine are cheaper than the glasses of
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: sparkling water. You got a full belly, Apasta. You're holding
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: your girl's hand underneath the moonlight. You're walking over these bridges.
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: You're you aren't even walking anywhere, dude, You're strolling. That's
- 1:00:18Speaker 2: what Venice.
- 1:00:18Speaker 3: If it was me and my wife, yeah, in September, yeah,
- 1:00:23Speaker 3: I would go again.
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: Yeah, because you're right.
- 1:00:26Speaker 3: A lot of what I'm saying is baggage and PTSD
- 1:00:30Speaker 3: from the day we had. I'm glad we did the day.
- 1:00:33Speaker 3: I'm glad the fame, I'm glad we decide. I'm glad
- 1:00:36Speaker 3: my wife leads us to do heart stuff and sweetheart,
- 1:00:39Speaker 3: as you're listening right now, I'm not saying I want
- 1:00:41Speaker 3: I want you to just continue to lead us. And
- 1:00:43Speaker 3: then when I bitch and moan about it every now
- 1:00:44Speaker 3: and then, you remind me you like doing heard stuff.
- 1:00:46Speaker 3: I do enjoy that we do heart stuff, yeah, every
- 1:00:48Speaker 3: now and then. Yeah, And you love her, Oh I
- 1:00:52Speaker 3: love it.
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: I love my wife.
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: Yeah, love her. She is a fucking rock star. Yeah,
- 1:00:57Speaker 3: But a lot of that is the PTSD. Of the
- 1:01:00Speaker 3: entirety of the day because I'm like, when we fucking
- 1:01:04Speaker 3: getting back, like the kids are getting Scotty chasing birds everywhere. Yeah,
- 1:01:07Speaker 3: we're trying to enjoy a nice lunch, which we were
- 1:01:09Speaker 3: in the shade, and we enjoyed a nice lunch like
- 1:01:11Speaker 3: in this big like open area where the church is
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: sitting there.
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: It's like one of the historical spots.
- 1:01:16Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: Yeah, we're like the oldest cafe sits to where it's
- 1:01:20Speaker 3: just like outdoor umbrella. You know, they got the umbrellas,
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: they got the seating. Let Scotty run around chase the birds.
- 1:01:28Speaker 3: The seagulls that we heard are aggressive. Oh they are
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: very Scotty, a little more aggressive. Yeah, even in thirty
- 1:01:34Speaker 3: eight the goals are aggressive. They know where oh buddy, yeah,
- 1:01:37Speaker 3: I know where they get get picked up from our
- 1:01:39Speaker 3: table and it's like birds and seagulls just coming to
- 1:01:41Speaker 3: fight over the bread. Yes, no, oh shit, like grabbing
- 1:01:44Speaker 3: the kids getting away.
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: Jill went into the ocean with Scarlet and the bag
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: was unintended and I had like a towel kind of
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: laid over me, and I was underneath the umbrella, so
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: the birds thought I was sleeping and I saw them
- 1:01:55Speaker 2: laying and start working their way yeah over to our bag,
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: and I gave them.
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: A little He took off real quick. Yeah, my crack
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: a cold one.
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: Jill and I got to do a date night and dude,
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: epic epic date night of like feeling young and like
- 1:02:16Speaker 2: hanging out with your beach crush kind of date night.
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: It was fun, dude. We took bikes all the way
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: from our rent house. We were like way back back
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: back by the Public if people have been to thirty
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: eight by the Public's grocery store near Watercolor.
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: We're in.
- 1:02:37Speaker 2: So that's like pretty inland from the beach as far
- 1:02:41Speaker 2: as like staying on thirty A. But it makes the
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: bike ride that much more fun because you're getting to
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: go through all these little trails and stuff to get
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: to Seaside. And we took the bike trails like in
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: the pitch black and just had our little iPhone flashlights
- 1:02:58Speaker 2: as we're going down these little sandy as all the
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: way to Gosh, buddn Allies. I was about to say,
- 1:03:04Speaker 2: I've been there so many times. To button Allis. We
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: went up on the rooftop deck of budonn Allies. It's
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: like pitch black, but you can like hear the ocean,
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: but you can't really see it. And the date night
- 1:03:17Speaker 2: was on July fifth, I believe because there was still
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: some fireworks like going off just randomly on the beach.
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: There would just be like a little bottle rocket or
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: a little artillery shell or like a Roman candle would
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: just like go off in the distance. And uh, Jill
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: and I a.
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: Little cheat code.
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: This isn't a dad hack per se, but it could
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: be if you're on a budget and you want to
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: save a little money for date night. Jill nice is
- 1:03:46Speaker 2: a dead heck, it's a dad hack. It's a date heck,
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: it's a date hack, dude. Jill was like, because we
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: had eaten a little bit before we went out, and
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: she was like, hey, the would you want to just
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: split the file at? And I was like, yeah, that
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: actually sounds pretty good. And then when we ordered the
- 1:04:02Speaker 2: file at some of those steak places will be like, hey,
- 1:04:05Speaker 2: do you want a lobster tail or a crab cake
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: with your file at? It's only this much more. And
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: then when we were splitting the crab cake in the flea,
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: we ended up getting the crab cake with it. I
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: was like, dude, that's the ultimate date hack of all
- 1:04:19Speaker 2: time is get the nice, expensive filet and then only
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: for a little bit more, you get a whole lobster
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: tail or a whole crap cake with it, and then
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: you just split that.
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: That's basically two.
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying, ah Nath and dude, it
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: was so good just eating those crab cakes, having adult bevies, giggling, dude,
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: as we're like riding our bikes back and just like
- 1:04:49Speaker 2: all the young energy that's down there. There's a lot
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: of families with like kids, but there's a lot of
- 1:04:54Speaker 2: teens too, and just all these teens like running around
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: and like getting into trouble and flashlights everywhere, and you
- 1:05:01Speaker 2: just hear people like in the distance yelling and having
- 1:05:05Speaker 2: fun and just like riding down those little trails with
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: you know stuff, Dude.
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: It was fun. That was like a really solid.
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: Day night and just getting to like as much fun
- 1:05:16Speaker 2: and dude, as easy as Scarlet takes it on us
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: like a.
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: Knock on wood.
- 1:05:22Speaker 2: It's just like the continued story of Scarlet is just
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: she will not stop taking it easy on us. It's crazy,
- 1:05:30Speaker 2: Like that's awesome. It's awesome, like the entire vacation. It
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: was just like all smiles, all giggles, I want to
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: do anything and everything. Oh, we're going to a restaurant.
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: I'm not even gonna cry once. I'm just sitting there.
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: Like, dude, how blessed are we? This is crazy?
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: And getting to see my grandparents or her grandparents interact
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: with their that's really cool.
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: How h How hot was it out there? It was hot.
- 1:05:54Speaker 3: I was gonna say when when we were over in
- 1:05:57Speaker 3: Italy and they were like a couple of hot days
- 1:05:59Speaker 3: because they had like heat warning stuff in.
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: The Italy portion.
- 1:06:03Speaker 3: When we were in Austria where the Palers they came
- 1:06:06Speaker 3: from Italy before they got to Austria, and they're like,
- 1:06:09Speaker 3: hopefully it cools down, because there was like a heat wave.
- 1:06:11Speaker 3: Like the Europeans they don't believe in ac very much
- 1:06:14Speaker 3: at all, right, so you're kind of sweaty. But we
- 1:06:18Speaker 3: fortunately were in a week where it was like in
- 1:06:20Speaker 3: the eighties. But I guess the week before was like
- 1:06:21Speaker 3: in the nineties and they were having like all these
- 1:06:23Speaker 3: heat warnings and everything else. But when I checked the
- 1:06:26Speaker 3: weather app for Italy to like look ahead, it first
- 1:06:29Speaker 3: popped up on Nashville and I want to say, in
- 1:06:31Speaker 3: Nashville last week, did it ever hit one hundred? I
- 1:06:34Speaker 3: know it was in like the upper nineties, right, I
- 1:06:37Speaker 3: saw it was like that all week long. I was like, fuck, man,
- 1:06:39Speaker 3: it is hot. So I'm sure down in Florida it
- 1:06:41Speaker 3: was probably hot ast shit too.
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: It was super.
- 1:06:44Speaker 7: Third of July was ninety seven. I think the feels
- 1:06:47Speaker 7: like was like one oh six. When I was on
- 1:06:50Speaker 7: the golf course, dying felt good though, Yeah.
- 1:06:54Speaker 3: Especially when you get in those shade portions. But yeah, dude,
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: that hot man, Like you're like that sticky what Then
- 1:07:00Speaker 3: when you get done, you're driving back, you just.
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: Feel so goddam you just feel so like, you know,
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: I need a shower so bad.
- 1:07:05Speaker 7: Now there's a good feeling of like really really hot day,
- 1:07:08Speaker 7: whether you go spend all day outside and it is
- 1:07:10Speaker 7: that come home and you take me like a four
- 1:07:12Speaker 7: o'clock nap to hit the couch after a good shower
- 1:07:15Speaker 7: and you just you're out.
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: We might be one of the best feelings ever. We
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: had that.
- 1:07:19Speaker 3: After our Venice day, because that was like, that was
- 1:07:21Speaker 3: a long day. We spent all day over there in Venice,
- 1:07:23Speaker 3: and then when we're traveling back, we get back. We
- 1:07:26Speaker 3: go to dinner right away, like we changed real quick.
- 1:07:28Speaker 3: Go to dinner right away. You can tell we're ready
- 1:07:30Speaker 3: to get to the bedtime portion and put the kids down,
- 1:07:32Speaker 3: and then you just get a moment. Oh yes, Scotty
- 1:07:35Speaker 3: was already knocked out, ready to go. Ru wanted to
- 1:07:37Speaker 3: see one of the shows, the magic shows that they
- 1:07:38Speaker 3: were doing downstairs. But when you hit the shower afterwards
- 1:07:42Speaker 3: and then get in the bed, oh that's a.
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: Crack cold nothing like it. Incredible.
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: My Sunday getting back, We got back on Thursday, came
- 1:07:51Speaker 2: into the office Friday. Then Sunday I did this huge mowing.
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: I was telling Chef I had this huge mowing day
- 1:07:59Speaker 2: because I had a lot of catching up to.
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: Dude.
- 1:08:01Speaker 2: PG six would have been not happy with the way
- 1:08:05Speaker 2: my yard was looking, and I gave it the royal treatment, dude,
- 1:08:09Speaker 2: Like I really moved for a long time out in
- 1:08:11Speaker 2: the sun. Didn't put any sunblock on, Shame on me.
- 1:08:15Speaker 2: But I got that sun kiss dude on Sunday from
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: being out like that perfect amount of time where it's
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: not like a true sunburn, but like the sun zaps. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:08:26Speaker 2: came inside just like Jill let me nap on the couch.
- 1:08:30Speaker 2: You hit that cold shower after you've been like outside
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: like that. You gotta do it right away, right away.
- 1:08:37Speaker 2: But first zap yourself with the hot water. Stop the burn.
- 1:08:40Speaker 2: Then the cold water, dude.
- 1:08:42Speaker 3: Yeah, because you wait too long in the ac you
- 1:08:44Speaker 3: start to get a little cold.
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: Yes, yes, Then the idea of a cold shower gonna
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: leave your brain a little bit. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah yeah.
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: And then get on the couch. Dude.
- 1:08:52Speaker 2: Oh, I'm literally like wincing in my seat right now.
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: It was like one of the best naps ever.
- 1:08:57Speaker 3: You're not only wincing your seat. I see Deeke over there,
- 1:08:59Speaker 3: he's gripping. Oh, he's got something to get off of
- 1:09:02Speaker 3: his chest.
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: I genuinely was just curious how Bochi went. Oh how well,
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: Oh my gosh.
- 1:09:09Speaker 2: Dude him as a whole story he did for Scarscar's
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: first birthday that his dad almost ruined that I would
- 1:09:15Speaker 2: love for him to recap on the show.
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: Thank you, dude, Deeke, Thank you okay, dude.
- 1:09:20Speaker 3: And by the way, I know, a couple of weeks
- 1:09:23Speaker 3: I went by Scarscar did turn one.
- 1:09:28Speaker 2: One July third, Happy birthday, Happy belated birthday to scarscar
- 1:09:34Speaker 2: first birthday, Dude, you want a dad hack hubachi ubachie.
- 1:09:39Speaker 6: Dude.
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: It's it's a such a good.
- 1:09:42Speaker 2: Meal and it's not the most expensive meal in the world,
- 1:09:44Speaker 2: and you feel like you're having fun doing it. And
- 1:09:47Speaker 2: Scarlet was losing her her fucking mind, dude the entire time.
- 1:09:54Speaker 2: How was she when the fire happened. It was the
- 1:09:57Speaker 2: perfect amount of like stoicism in her face where she
- 1:10:01Speaker 2: was intrigued and impressed but like really studied.
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: It and wasn't scared at all.
- 1:10:06Speaker 2: No, and like it was kind of like leaning forward,
- 1:10:10Speaker 2: like she was in her high chair and she's leaning
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: forward the entire time, looking like this. And then oh, dude,
- 1:10:17Speaker 2: this was the other great thing is her word that
- 1:10:20Speaker 2: she was fixated on all week was dadad And we're
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: staying with my parents, so I look like dad of
- 1:10:28Speaker 2: the sentry because every five seconds is just literally dada
- 1:10:33Speaker 2: dada like during the hibachi, like and she's looking over
- 1:10:37Speaker 2: at me and being like ah, Like a couple of
- 1:10:40Speaker 2: times she would squeeze her fists and yell at me,
- 1:10:44Speaker 2: so like let me know, like check this shit out,
- 1:10:46Speaker 2: check that shit out, dude. He did the fire torches,
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: he lit like fire torches on fire and was juggling
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: the fire torches and scarlet the entire time, had her
- 1:10:57Speaker 2: hands up like this and just wasn't smiling, wasn't screaming,
- 1:11:00Speaker 2: and was just locked in watching her enjoy that hibachi meal. Dude,
- 1:11:05Speaker 2: like she was truly in hog heaven. And then we
- 1:11:10Speaker 2: and I'll get into the story of my dad almost
- 1:11:12Speaker 2: he didn't ruined hibachi night, but it's a funny story.
- 1:11:17Speaker 2: We forgot to get Scarlett a cake. We forgot to
- 1:11:20Speaker 2: get Scarlett a cake.
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: And I didn't even.
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: Think about it. Jill didn't even think about it. It
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: was just a collective everyone forgot.
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: Yeah, you go and get a cupcake or something.
- 1:11:30Speaker 2: Habachi guy after he does the torches, he goes, all right,
- 1:11:33Speaker 2: I'm gonna start cleaning up. I hope you guys had
- 1:11:37Speaker 2: a good night, you know, gives us a little bout
- 1:11:38Speaker 2: blah blah blah biania, start cleaning up, Please enjoy your meal,
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: and goes back to like his truck was one of
- 1:11:45Speaker 2: those mobile Hibachi services, so they like come to where
- 1:11:49Speaker 2: you're staying.
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: Oh shit, that's all Stuard.
- 1:11:51Speaker 2: It was so sick and not expensive at all. Like
- 1:11:56Speaker 2: you're pretty much kind of paying what you would for
- 1:11:59Speaker 2: actual it was just like a twenty dollars service fee
- 1:12:02Speaker 2: for the base.
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: I was gonna see it maybe like an extra thirty
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: bucks on top to come to your house and du
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: who bought you? That's awesome? It was so sick. So
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: he sneaks off to his truck. We're just kind of
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: sitting there.
- 1:12:14Speaker 2: He comes around with birthday cake and candle and starts,
- 1:12:19Speaker 2: happy birthday to you, and I'm like, oh my god,
- 1:12:22Speaker 2: I totally forgot about the cake. Sets that cake in
- 1:12:26Speaker 2: front of Scarlet. Scarlett doesn't know how to blow it out,
- 1:12:28Speaker 2: so we blow it out for her, but we made
- 1:12:31Speaker 2: it like she blew it out, take the candle.
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: Out, attacked it. Dude.
- 1:12:35Speaker 2: I got some videos, so I'll send to you, Chef.
- 1:12:38Speaker 2: I have never been more proud of my daughter in
- 1:12:40Speaker 2: my entire life. I've told you on this podcast that
- 1:12:43Speaker 2: she does like that little demon voice where she just
- 1:12:45Speaker 2: constantly will go like because I do it to her,
- 1:12:50Speaker 2: and she'll do it back, and she thinks it's funny.
- 1:12:53Speaker 2: When that cake got in front of her, she literally
- 1:12:56Speaker 2: started going like an animal over its prey and she
- 1:13:03Speaker 2: started throwing her face into the cake She's never had
- 1:13:06Speaker 2: cake before in her life, and she knew I throw
- 1:13:10Speaker 2: my face in this. She gave it some test kind
- 1:13:12Speaker 2: of like yeah, put her mouth on it, and she goes, oh,
- 1:13:16Speaker 2: I know how to eat this, and just start slamming
- 1:13:19Speaker 2: her face into it and before each time going am um,
- 1:13:25Speaker 2: and it's just taking the icing off of this cake
- 1:13:28Speaker 2: and looks up at me like she did during the hubachi,
- 1:13:31Speaker 2: and the sugar was starting to hit her, like after
- 1:13:33Speaker 2: three or four minutes, and she did one of those
- 1:13:36Speaker 2: hand clutches and truly like set up. Have you seen
- 1:13:39Speaker 2: the cotton candy girl that jiff that's like super famous
- 1:13:42Speaker 2: on the internet where the girl has the cotton candy and.
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: She's like does that show chef will pull it up?
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: I will?
- 1:13:50Speaker 2: Scarlet did that like full on sugar rush and looked
- 1:13:53Speaker 2: at me and went and like did a warrior scream,
- 1:13:58Speaker 2: like look what I just did to this cake. Dad, God,
- 1:14:02Speaker 2: I was proud of my daughter. It was incredible. What
- 1:14:06Speaker 2: a birthday. It was a birthday. And then the story
- 1:14:09Speaker 2: that's so funny, dude, is I was going to do habachi.
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: Just is this one with your dad? This is with
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: my dad.
- 1:14:16Speaker 2: I was going to do Hibachi to surprise my family
- 1:14:19Speaker 2: for Scarlett's birthday. Do the mobile Hibachi service. I'm getting
- 1:14:24Speaker 2: all this stuff, like, I'm filling out the menu to
- 1:14:26Speaker 2: like get all this stuff for it, and all I
- 1:14:29Speaker 2: need is the address of the house. And I'm like, Dad,
- 1:14:33Speaker 2: what's the address of the rental home? He goes, No, Son,
- 1:14:36Speaker 2: you can't send stuff to the rental home. This is
- 1:14:39Speaker 2: all via texts. Can't send stuff to the rental home.
- 1:14:41Speaker 2: You have to send it to this renting place and
- 1:14:44Speaker 2: then you go pick up your package there. I go, Great,
- 1:14:47Speaker 2: not looking to send a package. I'm looking for the
- 1:14:50Speaker 2: address of the rental home.
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: Yeah. Sure, it's kind of like this whole ordeal.
- 1:14:55Speaker 2: They really told me they don't want people shipping packages
- 1:14:59Speaker 2: because the namehood.
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: They don't want any drivers. So it's got to be
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: to the to the rental office. Dad. Again, Great, I
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: love that. I'm not I'm not sending. Nothing's getting delivered.
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: Nothing's getting delivered. I just need the address.
- 1:15:12Speaker 2: I need the address for something that I'm wanting to
- 1:15:16Speaker 2: do for Scarlett's birthday.
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: Well, what is it?
- 1:15:19Speaker 2: Okay, So it's a surprise that's going to be for
- 1:15:22Speaker 2: Scarlett and the family and I'll let you know on
- 1:15:26Speaker 2: the day what it's going to be, but right now
- 1:15:28Speaker 2: I'm prepping this. It's a surprise, all right, So if
- 1:15:32Speaker 2: I could get that address, that'd be sweet. My mom
- 1:15:35Speaker 2: then says there's like three hours of no reply, and
- 1:15:40Speaker 2: my mom goes, hey, papasherm we call him. He's also Sherman,
- 1:15:43Speaker 2: Hey publisher, can we get that address? Still no reply.
- 1:15:48Speaker 2: I'm sitting there talking to Dieg. I'm like, what the
- 1:15:50Speaker 2: WTF question mark is going on? Whole day passes, my
- 1:15:53Speaker 2: dad doesn't send the address, so I'm still waiting for
- 1:15:56Speaker 2: the address of this rent house that we're going to
- 1:15:58Speaker 2: and the first text from my dad that next morning.
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: Hey, guys, I'm thinking about it could.
- 1:16:05Speaker 2: Be fun to do a mobile hibachi service for Scarlett's
- 1:16:08Speaker 2: birthday for dinner. They actually can come to your house
- 1:16:14Speaker 2: and they can do it. I found this mobile hibachi service.
- 1:16:18Speaker 2: It's the exact same one that I was looking to do. Dude,
- 1:16:23Speaker 2: I went up to Deeke. I mean, I was not
- 1:16:26Speaker 2: actually heated at my dad. I was pissed, though. I
- 1:16:30Speaker 2: was pissed because I'm like coming into that age where
- 1:16:33Speaker 2: I like I can plan stuff, I can do stuff,
- 1:16:36Speaker 2: I'm a dad too. Now, Dad like I can make
- 1:16:39Speaker 2: some moves. I'm like, you read my freaking mind, dude,
- 1:16:43Speaker 2: and you beat me to the punch. And then at
- 1:16:46Speaker 2: that time, my Dad's like, hey, I'll treat you know,
- 1:16:49Speaker 2: like this is my idea. I would love to treat
- 1:16:51Speaker 2: for dinner. So I'm like, okay, like twist my arm.
- 1:16:55Speaker 2: You know this sucks.
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: But dude, just getting beat out by your getting out
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: daddd by your dad. Isn't that kind of a testament
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: to how like father, like son.
- 1:17:04Speaker 7: You guys both had the same I would be tripping
- 1:17:06Speaker 7: out going Hey we both had great minds, think alike.
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: Yeah, great minds, think alike.
- 1:17:11Speaker 2: I Also, I was just seeing how much I'm like
- 1:17:13Speaker 2: my dad, dude on this trip of worrying for Scarlet. Yeah,
- 1:17:17Speaker 2: and I'm trying to really put a button on that
- 1:17:19Speaker 2: of like not try not to worry too much with Scarlet.
- 1:17:24Speaker 2: And I'm seeing a little bit of my dad come out.
- 1:17:27Speaker 2: It was so funny watching my dad because he was
- 1:17:30Speaker 2: a worry wart with my brother and I with Scarlet.
- 1:17:32Speaker 2: It's times ten. You were talking about the heat. Thank god,
- 1:17:36Speaker 2: Jill's a nurse. He told us we couldn't go outside
- 1:17:39Speaker 2: one day, Like he told Jill it was too hot
- 1:17:42Speaker 2: for us to go outside, and Jill was like, it, no,
- 1:17:45Speaker 2: it's not. He's like, it feels like one oh five
- 1:17:49Speaker 2: and it's this and blah blah blah, you can't. She
- 1:17:51Speaker 2: can't go out to the pool, and Jill's like, she
- 1:17:54Speaker 2: absolutely can. She'll be in the shade, she'll be in water,
- 1:17:57Speaker 2: so her body temperature will be down. I bring a
- 1:17:59Speaker 2: waters so she's gonna be hydrated. I also have fruit
- 1:18:02Speaker 2: snacks and she's gonna be eating blah blah blah. She's
- 1:18:04Speaker 2: gonna be fine. And my dad is just pacing through
- 1:18:07Speaker 2: the kitchen for the next hour thinking that my daughter's
- 1:18:11Speaker 2: gonna die of a heat stroke. But then once I'm
- 1:18:14Speaker 2: outside and I'm like watching Scarlet in the pool and stuff.
- 1:18:17Speaker 2: I've even am kind of to myself like, hey, is
- 1:18:19Speaker 2: it too hot for it? Because it you know, blah
- 1:18:21Speaker 2: blah blah. I saw the way that Jill had to
- 1:18:23Speaker 2: talk my dad down, so I'm like, I don't want
- 1:18:25Speaker 2: to be.
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: Worry war Dad. I'll chill. Don't need two of them,
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: don't need two of them. I'll chill out.
- 1:18:31Speaker 2: Jill gott in this golf cart that we rented and
- 1:18:35Speaker 2: just put Scarlet in her lap and like buckle the
- 1:18:37Speaker 2: seatbelt around Scarlet like in her lap.
- 1:18:39Speaker 1: And in my mind, I was like, I don't know how.
- 1:18:42Speaker 2: I feel about that, but it's okay, it's okay, everything's
- 1:18:45Speaker 2: safe and it'll be fun. I'm driving the golf cart
- 1:18:47Speaker 2: and it'll be all right. And my dad comes out
- 1:18:49Speaker 2: and like sees that, and I could tell my dad
- 1:18:51Speaker 2: was biting his tongue so hard. We pulled out onto
- 1:18:55Speaker 2: the main road. My dad, whoa, whoa, wait, what are
- 1:18:58Speaker 2: we doing where we just she's not in the baby seat,
- 1:19:00Speaker 2: she's on a baby seat. And my mom thankfully was
- 1:19:03Speaker 2: there to kind of pat him on the leg and
- 1:19:05Speaker 2: be like it's okay, like everything will be good.
- 1:19:09Speaker 3: Yeah, I would love to see I would love to
- 1:19:11Speaker 3: see your stress level over in Europe, because if you
- 1:19:15Speaker 3: get a cab or something, there's not a baby seat,
- 1:19:17Speaker 3: you just have him on the lap.
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: Dude, you had Scotty in the lap during that wreck. No, no, no, no,
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: Scotty was in a car seat. You're talking yeah yeah yeah, yeah,
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: yeah yeah.
- 1:19:29Speaker 3: Yeah, just in like casual, like you get a cab
- 1:19:32Speaker 3: or something like that, or a taxi, you just be
- 1:19:35Speaker 3: used to sitting them like on your lap.
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: Yeah, first time you're kind of like, oh shit, is
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: this is this even legal? Oh? But that's funny.
- 1:19:42Speaker 3: I do have a question please for the Papa Shirm story.
- 1:19:47Speaker 3: It sounds like this is before you guys went to
- 1:19:49Speaker 3: Florida and you were trying to play the bachi. Yes,
- 1:19:55Speaker 3: So my question why didn't you just give him a
- 1:20:00Speaker 3: shout on the phone when he when he's call up
- 1:20:04Speaker 3: day after the second response he gave where everybody with
- 1:20:07Speaker 3: their parents would get frustrated because they're doing the thing
- 1:20:09Speaker 3: that something's like, hey, I don't need you to tell me,
- 1:20:12Speaker 3: I just need the address. When he gives you the
- 1:20:14Speaker 3: second reply, why not just when he's trying to explain
- 1:20:18Speaker 3: it and you're trying to be like, hey, it's a surprise.
- 1:20:21Speaker 3: At that moment you pick up the phone and say, hey,
- 1:20:25Speaker 3: I'm doing this thing. Maybe even tell him.
- 1:20:29Speaker 1: That about your idea so that way he doesn't get
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: to where he quote unquote out there. Yeah, that's a
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: good question.
- 1:20:37Speaker 2: I would say that that week I was like very
- 1:20:42Speaker 2: heavily editing, and my mind was very much heavily on
- 1:20:47Speaker 2: editing slash prepping for trip to where I would look
- 1:20:53Speaker 2: up and like hours had passed because I was getting
- 1:20:56Speaker 2: so blocked into work.
- 1:20:58Speaker 3: I don't think it was like a true avoidance of
- 1:21:00Speaker 3: my father. It was more so I'm just like, okay,
- 1:21:03Speaker 3: I just simply need the address. Let me just send
- 1:21:05Speaker 3: me the fucking address. When he did drop the BATCHI
- 1:21:07Speaker 3: how did that go? Did you get on the phone
- 1:21:09Speaker 3: with him, ma'am? Yeah, and I called him cocksucker.
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:21:12Speaker 2: I was like, that was the surprise that I was
- 1:21:15Speaker 2: going to do. So that's actually kind of crazy, uh,
- 1:21:18Speaker 2: that that happened that way. But you know, he very
- 1:21:23Speaker 2: much he doesn't want to step on my toes and
- 1:21:26Speaker 2: he doesn't want to He knows that he can be
- 1:21:28Speaker 2: a control freak sometimes, yeah, and be a worry ward sometimes.
- 1:21:33Speaker 2: And he has done a very good job of allowing
- 1:21:35Speaker 2: me to be a dad in places that I need
- 1:21:39Speaker 2: to be a dad. And so he was like, oh, well, son,
- 1:21:43Speaker 2: you know, if it's I'll set it up, I'll get everything,
- 1:21:46Speaker 2: and you just vin moo me like that way, you're
- 1:21:48Speaker 2: paying for it. If you want to pay for it,
- 1:21:51Speaker 2: you know, I don't want to take that. Like he's
- 1:21:53Speaker 2: very much like he does a good job of realizing, hey,
- 1:21:58Speaker 2: I don't want to step on my son's toes here.
- 1:22:00Speaker 2: Like the Atlanta trip where we're going for the Baylor
- 1:22:03Speaker 2: Auburn game, I had like gotten hotel stuff planned out.
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: My dad is already booked.
- 1:22:11Speaker 2: He's already booked and unbooked four different hotels for the trip,
- 1:22:17Speaker 2: and each hotel was like closer and closer to the stadium,
- 1:22:20Speaker 2: because I was telling that that the stadium is like
- 1:22:22Speaker 2: not the nicest part of town. No offense to Atlanta,
- 1:22:25Speaker 2: It's still they're great.
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: It's a great city, but.
- 1:22:30Speaker 2: There's some other places where I was like, hotels would
- 1:22:32Speaker 2: be great. My dad's more convenience wise. I want to
- 1:22:35Speaker 2: be directly out of the stadium into a hotel. And
- 1:22:39Speaker 2: he's very type A and so once he gets on
- 1:22:41Speaker 2: those type A things, starts booking, unbooking, booking unbooking. That's
- 1:22:46Speaker 2: when I kind of put my hands up. I go,
- 1:22:50Speaker 2: he's going to be a big old ball stress if
- 1:22:52Speaker 2: I try and come in here and change stuff.
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: I'll let Dad choose the hotel.
- 1:22:57Speaker 2: Got you, So that a little bit of that played
- 1:23:00Speaker 2: into the Habaji thing, But no, no part of me
- 1:23:04Speaker 2: was like truly pissed at him.
- 1:23:06Speaker 3: Yeah, if that makes sense, just momentarily. Yeah, because you
- 1:23:10Speaker 3: were trying to execute I you're trying to execute. Yeah,
- 1:23:13Speaker 3: you simply needed the address.
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: I had a huge dad loss by the way, on
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: the trip, Yeah, a massive dad loss. We went to
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: the dad loss.
- 1:23:23Speaker 2: Is that much more fun because this was directly before
- 1:23:26Speaker 2: our pictures, our family pictures on the beach. If you've
- 1:23:30Speaker 2: ever seen me smiling in a photo, you can know
- 1:23:32Speaker 2: when I'm truly smiling and happy in a photo. My
- 1:23:35Speaker 2: eyes are very dead in these family photos, and I'll
- 1:23:39Speaker 2: send some to Chef where he can put them up.
- 1:23:42Speaker 2: I'm forcing a smile in these photos. You can see
- 1:23:45Speaker 2: it in you can see it in my eyes. I
- 1:23:47Speaker 2: had a major dad loss.
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: Please share. Pt. Six is going to fry me on this.
- 1:23:53Speaker 1: That's okay.
- 1:23:55Speaker 2: When we set up our lease house in spring Hill, Tennessee,
- 1:24:00Speaker 2: Property Management Group, some of our utilities are also paid
- 1:24:07Speaker 2: through the website that we pay our rent too.
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: Okay, okay.
- 1:24:14Speaker 2: You set up all your utilities water, gas, and electric,
- 1:24:18Speaker 2: it's all three different companies and internet, and you have
- 1:24:21Speaker 2: to show proof of all these things to the rental company.
- 1:24:26Speaker 2: So in the process of showing proof to the rental
- 1:24:29Speaker 2: company that I had set up these services. I had
- 1:24:33Speaker 2: put all of these services in my brain that they
- 1:24:37Speaker 2: all get paid on this one website. One of the
- 1:24:41Speaker 2: services gets paid individually. Well, that would be the electric bill. Oh,
- 1:24:47Speaker 2: one of the guests, that would be the electric bill.
- 1:24:52Speaker 2: And as we know, wonderful suite, incredible and he can
- 1:24:56Speaker 2: land them watch out, ladies. Intern Chris, Yeah, was at
- 1:25:01Speaker 2: my house and I got a great text. I'll send
- 1:25:04Speaker 2: that as well, the screenshot to chef Hey Sherman. The
- 1:25:08Speaker 2: power's out at the house and I'm looking at the
- 1:25:11Speaker 2: breaker box.
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: I don't know what to do, and he's watching your house.
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: He's got the boys over, doesn't.
- 1:25:17Speaker 2: He he's got the boys over, he's got my dog's there.
- 1:25:20Speaker 2: And the power just goes out.
- 1:25:21Speaker 1: And it's in the nineties. Oh in Nashville, Tennessee. Hot.
- 1:25:25Speaker 2: It's hot, and we're about thirty seconds from taking family photos.
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: And I see that text. I call him instantly.
- 1:25:34Speaker 2: I say, hey, can you look at my neighbor's houses
- 1:25:37Speaker 2: on either side and across the street and tell me
- 1:25:39Speaker 2: if the power's on.
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: He goes, oh, yeah, you know, everybody's got their lights on.
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: It looks like I go, it's a really good impression. Okay,
- 1:25:48Speaker 1: I'll go look. I'll go look, Sherman. You know, Sherman,
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: It's fine. This happens all the time at my house
- 1:25:54Speaker 1: growing up. We'd lose power all the time. It's really
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: no big deal, no big deal. We're just playing UNA
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: in the living room.
- 1:26:01Speaker 7: No.
- 1:26:01Speaker 2: Truthly, he was being so sweet, like, this is literally
- 1:26:06Speaker 2: the conversation.
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: Do I need to go check the break There's a
- 1:26:09Speaker 1: breaker box on the outside of the house.
- 1:26:11Speaker 2: I can look at. I go, Chris, it's not that man. Uh,
- 1:26:14Speaker 2: let me hold on one second. I hang up, and
- 1:26:17Speaker 2: I fucking lost it when I got off the phone
- 1:26:20Speaker 2: because it all the dots were connecting. I was like,
- 1:26:24Speaker 2: it's got to be power, like the power bill. It's
- 1:26:27Speaker 2: got to be that I haven't been paying the power
- 1:26:28Speaker 2: bill rather, you know, however I set it up or whatever.
- 1:26:34Speaker 2: And so I lost my cool in the moment and
- 1:26:39Speaker 2: was like.
- 1:26:39Speaker 1: Fuck, dude, why would this happen?
- 1:26:42Speaker 7: This?
- 1:26:42Speaker 1: Of course, this fucking happens the last day. It was
- 1:26:44Speaker 1: our last day of vacation.
- 1:26:46Speaker 2: And as I told you all on this podcast before,
- 1:26:48Speaker 2: Jill told me, if we ever come back to a
- 1:26:50Speaker 2: house without power, I will leave you.
- 1:26:52Speaker 1: She gets very angry because Sherman has a sherman has
- 1:26:56Speaker 1: made this mistake in the past when we were at
- 1:26:58Speaker 1: an apartment complex. Now you like, hey, Sweeter, you might
- 1:27:02Speaker 1: get your wish. Yeah, you might get your wish. Honey,
- 1:27:05Speaker 1: you get a new man. So I lose my cool
- 1:27:10Speaker 1: in the moment.
- 1:27:11Speaker 2: Jill has saw me to calm down, but she's also
- 1:27:13Speaker 2: saying how embarrassing this is.
- 1:27:16Speaker 1: For poor Chris.
- 1:27:18Speaker 2: My mom and dad are there, and again I'm always
- 1:27:21Speaker 2: trying to illustrate to my dad. I've got it, I've
- 1:27:24Speaker 2: got things covered. I'm a dad. Now, I'm a full
- 1:27:27Speaker 2: grown ass man. I can handle it. And I could
- 1:27:30Speaker 2: tell that Dad was really trying to stay hands off.
- 1:27:34Speaker 2: He was like, I do not need to interject in
- 1:27:37Speaker 2: this moment. And then realize that the power bill was
- 1:27:42Speaker 2: on a separate app that I had to download that
- 1:27:45Speaker 2: I remember setting up because this was two months ago
- 1:27:49Speaker 2: and I had a fraud alert with my debit card
- 1:27:53Speaker 2: at the beginning of June, so this.
- 1:27:56Speaker 1: Was a while ago.
- 1:27:57Speaker 2: Not realizing when I have that fraudle for those three
- 1:28:01Speaker 2: days that I didn't like get it reset with my bank,
- 1:28:06Speaker 2: my autopay hit for my power bill on the app.
- 1:28:11Speaker 2: When I downloaded that app, I also said, would you
- 1:28:14Speaker 2: allow this app to send you a notification? No, because
- 1:28:16Speaker 2: I do that with every single app. So the app
- 1:28:19Speaker 2: had been sending me notifications since the beginning of June
- 1:28:22Speaker 2: of We tried to process your auto pay and the
- 1:28:26Speaker 2: bill didn't go through. And so what what was that
- 1:28:29Speaker 2: July like seventh or like eighth?
- 1:28:33Speaker 1: Yeah, so full month. It was like a sixty dollars bill. Dude,
- 1:28:38Speaker 1: that was two hundred and ninety one dollars. Yeah. Did
- 1:28:42Speaker 1: you have to call to get it back on? Yeah?
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: So so how did this all?
- 1:28:45Speaker 2: How the Thankfully to Chef's point, I called Chris. I
- 1:28:49Speaker 2: tell Chris, hey, I fucked up majorly. This is the situation.
- 1:28:56Speaker 2: Just paid the bill. I'm going to try calling the
- 1:28:58Speaker 2: company da da du Hang tight, We're gonna get you
- 1:29:01Speaker 2: a hotel room. We're gonna put you in a hotel.
- 1:29:05Speaker 2: And he, of course, Chris is, I can just go
- 1:29:07Speaker 2: back to my place with with your dogs. I just
- 1:29:10Speaker 2: take him because he's got his own place in Tennessee.
- 1:29:13Speaker 2: I was like, no, Chris, where like, we don't want
- 1:29:15Speaker 2: you drive in, you know, with the dogs and all
- 1:29:17Speaker 2: that stuff. There's a hotel right down the road that
- 1:29:20Speaker 2: you can go and come back on. I hang up
- 1:29:23Speaker 2: with him, and I go trying to find the number
- 1:29:25Speaker 2: of this power company because it's seven pm. Power place
- 1:29:30Speaker 2: is closed. I'm getting voicemails. I'm like, God, I'm cooked.
- 1:29:35Speaker 2: This is the part where I'm really freaking out, the
- 1:29:37Speaker 2: part that was a huge dad loss, because Jill's just
- 1:29:41Speaker 2: watching me unravel in this moment. And thank god, spring Hill,
- 1:29:46Speaker 2: Tennessee has an auto system that right when you pay
- 1:29:49Speaker 2: it comes back on in like ten minutes. So as
- 1:29:52Speaker 2: I'm like calling all these numbers that I'm trying to
- 1:29:55Speaker 2: find for this power company, I just get a text
- 1:29:57Speaker 2: from Chris and it's like, let there be light and all.
- 1:30:00Speaker 2: So I'm like, oh my god, you're kidding. He was like,
- 1:30:04Speaker 2: oh yeah, everything's back on. Everything's good, and dah dah dah.
- 1:30:06Speaker 2: I was like, oh my gosh. So Jill really chalked
- 1:30:12Speaker 2: it up to, Hey, all that stress, all that dog
- 1:30:15Speaker 2: cussing that you're doing, all that bad attitude that you
- 1:30:18Speaker 2: had that you went into our family pictures with, and
- 1:30:22Speaker 2: then we get out of family pictures and you're able
- 1:30:25Speaker 2: to resolve it in twenty minutes, and like, I don't
- 1:30:29Speaker 2: want to see, like, don't unravel in moments of stress,
- 1:30:33Speaker 2: like be a problem solver and just solve the issue
- 1:30:36Speaker 2: at hand. You complaining about it is not going to
- 1:30:40Speaker 2: fix anything, especially in front of your daughter, in front
- 1:30:43Speaker 2: of me, in front of your parents, Like you could
- 1:30:46Speaker 2: have handled that way better. Yeah, because I lost my cool.
- 1:30:50Speaker 2: You could see it in my face and the family pigs.
- 1:30:51Speaker 1: I was not having it.
- 1:30:52Speaker 2: Dead in the eyes, dead in the eyes. Still great
- 1:30:55Speaker 2: family pigs because Scarlet and Jill look so cute and
- 1:30:57Speaker 2: sweet on the beach.
- 1:30:58Speaker 1: Yeah, they're looking at you, looking at the family the ladies. Yeah. Yeah,
- 1:31:04Speaker 1: that's a tough that's a tough l. It was a
- 1:31:06Speaker 1: tough l in front of the people that you love.
- 1:31:08Speaker 3: That you wanted to prove you got it, your grown
- 1:31:10Speaker 3: ass man, grown ass man that doesn't know how to
- 1:31:13Speaker 3: pay the power bill.
- 1:31:19Speaker 1: Hey.
- 1:31:19Speaker 2: I asked Chris if he let you know and how
- 1:31:21Speaker 2: he let you know? Because I did alarm him that
- 1:31:23Speaker 2: like this is a situation in which your wife could
- 1:31:25Speaker 2: leave you. Yeah yeah, he said he did you justice
- 1:31:28Speaker 2: and everything was okay.
- 1:31:30Speaker 1: Justice.
- 1:31:30Speaker 2: Yeah, But then I asked him about posting all the
- 1:31:32Speaker 2: videos online. He's like, well, I didn't think of that one.
- 1:31:35Speaker 2: Oh yeah, well, Jill doesn't have Twitter, so he so
- 1:31:38Speaker 2: he is fine. And no point that I think grace
- 1:31:43Speaker 2: was served by Chris. He could not have been more
- 1:31:46Speaker 2: gracious in that moment.
- 1:31:49Speaker 1: Truly.
- 1:31:49Speaker 2: If somebody's gonna be staying at your house and watching
- 1:31:51Speaker 2: your house and your power go out, you want Chris
- 1:31:55Speaker 2: in that house.
- 1:31:55Speaker 1: It's Chris. You want to entered.
- 1:31:57Speaker 2: Chris.
- 1:31:58Speaker 3: Chris is a sweetheart heart. He was talking a little
- 1:32:01Speaker 3: bit of ship on the vacation. I was kind of
- 1:32:03Speaker 3: crapped on Will a little bit. Oh he did, he's
- 1:32:06Speaker 3: taking an end zone.
- 1:32:07Speaker 1: But it wasn't a good one.
- 1:32:08Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:32:08Speaker 1: He did about the resorts.
- 1:32:10Speaker 3: Yeah, he was like, uh, what was it seemed judgmental
- 1:32:14Speaker 3: on his just from the get go. He saw the
- 1:32:16Speaker 3: first photos.
- 1:32:17Speaker 2: Yeah, he saw the first couple of things that Will
- 1:32:19Speaker 2: was posting, and he was just like I just thought, like,
- 1:32:22Speaker 2: you're spending two weeks in Europe and you're not leaving
- 1:32:24Speaker 2: the resort.
- 1:32:25Speaker 1: Yeah, so resorts and yeah, fair question, like he doesn't
- 1:32:30Speaker 1: know what he doesn't know? He's walking with Wamas. Why
- 1:32:32Speaker 1: is he doing that? Yeah, like, oh, they're not going
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: to leave the resort. Why you come to Disney and
- 1:32:38Speaker 1: then now you're in a resort there. Yeah, it's probably
- 1:32:42Speaker 1: more expensive.
- 1:32:44Speaker 3: And he's a you know, he's innocent, he doesn't know
- 1:32:46Speaker 3: he's a he's a goon beret. He's a goom beret.
- 1:32:50Speaker 3: And I kind of just asked him questions and let
- 1:32:52Speaker 3: him talk most of the time. And it's like, well,
- 1:32:54Speaker 3: that's an interesting take. I appreciate you.
- 1:32:56Speaker 1: And get to the answer too. And he's like, well
- 1:32:59Speaker 1: then you know, you posted other stuff and I'm like, okay,
- 1:33:01Speaker 1: they're doing I'm like, so.
- 1:33:02Speaker 3: You're just judging the vacation a whole time, which again
- 1:33:06Speaker 3: I'm like, Chris, what would you He's like, you know,
- 1:33:09Speaker 3: we go backpacking or get you know, go out and about,
- 1:33:11Speaker 3: and yeah.
- 1:33:12Speaker 1: I'm like, well, yeah, we've done it.
- 1:33:13Speaker 3: We did a bunch of stuff like day excursions, like
- 1:33:17Speaker 3: you know, two different days at each different spot. We're out,
- 1:33:21Speaker 3: we're out going, we're out exploring, like we're out doing stuff.
- 1:33:24Speaker 3: Not that I got to defend my position, but I'm
- 1:33:26Speaker 3: curious and fascinated. Like, Okay, so you got some judgment
- 1:33:29Speaker 3: going on on a two week vacation out in Italy,
- 1:33:31Speaker 3: which is fair because he also brought up which I
- 1:33:34Speaker 3: know parents and people have the question in their mind,
- 1:33:38Speaker 3: like why go on trips if the kids aren't going
- 1:33:42Speaker 3: to remember.
- 1:33:44Speaker 1: It's like your story at the beach where you're.
- 1:33:45Speaker 3: Telling Scarlet, I'm showing her where I'm going, us going
- 1:33:47Speaker 3: to Italy, Like there is a part of you. It's like, oh,
- 1:33:49Speaker 3: they're not going to remember the vacation. But I feel
- 1:33:53Speaker 3: like what's valuable and this can be like the the
- 1:33:57Speaker 3: like the lesson, the lesson of the week. But I'm
- 1:33:59Speaker 3: thinking of my head.
- 1:34:00Speaker 1: I kind of like Chris talk and I'm not like
- 1:34:01Speaker 1: responding to him back, and I'm kind of busting his
- 1:34:03Speaker 1: balls because of spress. You know, he's trying to walk back.
- 1:34:05Speaker 3: I see you guys. It seemed like an A plus.
- 1:34:07Speaker 3: It was like an awesome you know, nine out of ten,
- 1:34:09Speaker 3: ten out of ten vacation.
- 1:34:11Speaker 1: I'm like, well, yea, it was.
- 1:34:12Speaker 3: It was a phenomenal vacation. I think the trip like
- 1:34:16Speaker 3: traveling with your kiddos.
- 1:34:18Speaker 1: I asked Chris.
- 1:34:18Speaker 3: I'm like, hey, if you and your wife want to travel,
- 1:34:22Speaker 3: like my wife a core value of hers that Like
- 1:34:23Speaker 3: when I think about my wife, I think of adventure.
- 1:34:26Speaker 1: She loves to travel.
- 1:34:27Speaker 3: I'm more of a like a home body, even though
- 1:34:29Speaker 3: I would say evidence wise, Willie see might be the
- 1:34:32Speaker 3: most traveled in the office. But with Charro I see adventure.
- 1:34:36Speaker 3: She wants to vacate. She wants to go and see
- 1:34:39Speaker 3: the world. She wants to go and just see stuff
- 1:34:41Speaker 3: and explore and experience. And she's also firm on she
- 1:34:46Speaker 3: doesn't want the kids to hold us back on doing
- 1:34:48Speaker 3: things just because we have kids. Like I get like
- 1:34:51Speaker 3: from Chris to standpoint, you can do a lot of
- 1:34:53Speaker 3: stuff around America, which we have done a lot of
- 1:34:55Speaker 3: stuff around America, but Charlie also wants to get international.
- 1:34:58Speaker 3: Do some of the noses going to be No, it's
- 1:35:00Speaker 3: going to be exhausting, but still wants to choose, like,
- 1:35:03Speaker 3: let's go to these other parts of the world because
- 1:35:05Speaker 3: she wants to see them. She'll love for the kids
- 1:35:07Speaker 3: who experience them and for the for people that think, like, well, yeah,
- 1:35:12Speaker 3: but they're also not going to remember.
- 1:35:13Speaker 1: That's fair.
- 1:35:14Speaker 3: But I don't think. I don't think the trip's value
- 1:35:18Speaker 3: is in memory as much as it is also in capacity. Yeah,
- 1:35:22Speaker 3: Like I feel like something I take away from it,
- 1:35:24Speaker 3: like when I think on it is like the kid
- 1:35:26Speaker 3: that travels, you know, that's on has taken ten different flights,
- 1:35:31Speaker 3: has eaten different foods in different parts of the country,
- 1:35:34Speaker 3: different parts of the world. The kid that's that's sleeped
- 1:35:37Speaker 3: in unfamiliar beds and unfamiliar settings. I feel like it
- 1:35:41Speaker 3: cultivates a different baseline for kids who don't or for
- 1:35:44Speaker 3: parents and people who don't travel for where like for example,
- 1:35:48Speaker 3: like when we got back, Ru this morning wants to
- 1:35:50Speaker 3: like make her breakfast now because every breakfast you'd go,
- 1:35:53Speaker 3: you go downstairs, you'd go whether they have a little
- 1:35:55Speaker 3: buffet or a little menu to select from. Ru's exploring
- 1:35:59Speaker 3: the I want to go and get her orange juice
- 1:36:01Speaker 3: on her own, going to get her food on he all.
- 1:36:03Speaker 3: She's very independent, wants to do things on her own.
- 1:36:05Speaker 3: So this morning she's like, Dad, I want to make
- 1:36:07Speaker 3: my yogurt. Can you get out my kid's knife and
- 1:36:09Speaker 3: my kid's cutting board. I want to cut the strawberries.
- 1:36:12Speaker 3: You want to do these different things to where there's
- 1:36:14Speaker 3: like her sense of wonder and her sense of like
- 1:36:16Speaker 3: doing different things. She's not bringing it back because she
- 1:36:19Speaker 3: remembers now that, hey, I did these things over over
- 1:36:23Speaker 3: in Europe, like I want to do my own confidence. Yeah,
- 1:36:26Speaker 3: it builds confidence, It builds like you know, a lot
- 1:36:29Speaker 3: of the like the episodic memories that they're gonna have. Yeah,
- 1:36:33Speaker 3: she's not gonna have those, but a lot of like
- 1:36:36Speaker 3: the trips and everything else. I feel like a kid's
- 1:36:38Speaker 3: understanding of identity in family, identity is the patterns and
- 1:36:42Speaker 3: repetition that they have doing other things to where that'll
- 1:36:45Speaker 3: be kind of cultivated in them that they will have
- 1:36:48Speaker 3: for themselves as they get into the next phase of
- 1:36:50Speaker 3: their life, even though they might not remember the trip
- 1:36:53Speaker 3: to Italy, the fascination I have, which I love when
- 1:36:55Speaker 3: I listen to your story about you talking to Scarlet,
- 1:36:57Speaker 3: about you having all these memories and love for that
- 1:37:00Speaker 3: the beach, whether or not, I mean, she's one, she's
- 1:37:02Speaker 3: gonna remember that conversation or not. The idea and hope
- 1:37:06Speaker 3: is something I told Chris. I was like, one day,
- 1:37:09Speaker 3: I hope, I hope we cultivate something with my kids
- 1:37:12Speaker 3: to where when their parents they want to go back
- 1:37:14Speaker 3: to some of these spots that we visited, that they
- 1:37:16Speaker 3: see photos in that they went and visited when mom
- 1:37:19Speaker 3: and dad took them to those places, that they want
- 1:37:21Speaker 3: to take their kids to it and remember like, oh
- 1:37:23Speaker 3: my mom and dad, we did this photo in this
- 1:37:26Speaker 3: place and now they're giving it to their children and
- 1:37:30Speaker 3: to the point because again you can just call it what.
- 1:37:33Speaker 6: It is.
- 1:37:34Speaker 3: Very exhausting, it is expensive, it is fucking chaos. But
- 1:37:39Speaker 3: choosing to do like letting our kids know, we choose
- 1:37:41Speaker 3: to do these big, hard things with each other because
- 1:37:44Speaker 3: again it's like when it's just you four, or when
- 1:37:47Speaker 3: it's just you and the family and you're in the
- 1:37:48Speaker 3: middle of that chaos, that shit is fucking hard, that
- 1:37:51Speaker 3: shit is difficult, but you are doing it together like
- 1:37:54Speaker 3: the whole thet strength of the wolf is in the pack,
- 1:37:55Speaker 3: and the strength of the pack is in the wolf,
- 1:37:57Speaker 3: like you are cultivating a lot of these things with
- 1:37:59Speaker 3: your family. So those are a lot of the takeaways
- 1:38:02Speaker 3: that I almost you're almost when I sit and try
- 1:38:05Speaker 3: to reflect on it in like the hard moments when
- 1:38:08Speaker 3: we are on vacation of just having that perspective. I
- 1:38:12Speaker 3: know there was one moment which is like a crack
- 1:38:14Speaker 3: a cold one with Charo to where we were sitting
- 1:38:16Speaker 3: there by the pool. We were having a moment to
- 1:38:19Speaker 3: read your boy, by the way, whether you want to
- 1:38:21Speaker 3: include audiobooks or not, two and a half books down, Hey,
- 1:38:24Speaker 3: come on, yeah, yeah, one read one listen to one
- 1:38:28Speaker 3: and a half Listen to come On. But we were
- 1:38:31Speaker 3: sitting there reading pull Side because the kids were in
- 1:38:33Speaker 3: the kids club where they're like playing, they're doing alto crafts,
- 1:38:36Speaker 3: they're doing all these things to where mom and dad
- 1:38:38Speaker 3: can have a moment and she's like, we're doing a babe,
- 1:38:41Speaker 3: and I just look over at it and I'm.
- 1:38:42Speaker 1: Just like, dude, we really fucking are just doing it.
- 1:38:45Speaker 3: Like this shit is hard, and sometimes I like resent,
- 1:38:48Speaker 3: Like I like resent you for it because we're in
- 1:38:50Speaker 3: those moments of suck and I know you're leaning on
- 1:38:53Speaker 3: me and I'm leaning on you, and I know you
- 1:38:55Speaker 3: have to take a lot of the brunt of the
- 1:38:58Speaker 3: kiddohs because they're just it's mom a lot. I was like,
- 1:39:01Speaker 3: but it is cool because if it was just me leading,
- 1:39:06Speaker 3: there would be a lot of the reasons that I
- 1:39:08Speaker 3: would have to wait to travel would be, you know,
- 1:39:11Speaker 3: you're chasing the next thing ambitiously career wise. Hey, once
- 1:39:14Speaker 3: we get to this dollar amount, or once we get
- 1:39:16Speaker 3: to this status, or once we get to this position.
- 1:39:18Speaker 1: Then we can look back and travel.
- 1:39:20Speaker 3: But the fact that we've knocked out a lot of
- 1:39:22Speaker 3: these different spots that Charles wanted to go see and
- 1:39:24Speaker 3: do and take our kids to and how much experience
- 1:39:27Speaker 3: our kids have had in airports and traveling and doing
- 1:39:29Speaker 3: things to where you got to You gotta be durable,
- 1:39:32Speaker 3: You got to be like pliable and learn on the
- 1:39:34Speaker 3: fly and be fluid, and shit's going to be rocky
- 1:39:37Speaker 3: at times. But the fact that we are choosing to
- 1:39:39Speaker 3: do those things, it's like, it is sick that we're
- 1:39:42Speaker 3: just out here right now in Italy. Yeah, reading a
- 1:39:45Speaker 3: book next to the pool, and our kiddos are just
- 1:39:47Speaker 3: having a blast.
- 1:39:49Speaker 2: It's like those action movies or those spy movies where
- 1:39:52Speaker 2: you'll have like the two spies or the two action
- 1:39:55Speaker 2: heroes with you out there and they be like, hey,
- 1:39:57Speaker 2: remember Portugal, Like, oh god, we're not doing Portugal, are we?
- 1:40:02Speaker 1: Yeah, we're doing it.
- 1:40:03Speaker 2: And then they're like, do some crazy motorcycle jump. Hey,
- 1:40:06Speaker 2: that is like what you're doing with Trial right now,
- 1:40:09Speaker 2: is you're like building that callous if you will of like, hey,
- 1:40:15Speaker 2: remember the ship we went through in Venice.
- 1:40:17Speaker 1: Due to thousand percent.
- 1:40:18Speaker 3: And then when the kiddos get old enough and you
- 1:40:21Speaker 3: can give them shits for how hard it was with
- 1:40:23Speaker 3: them in those moments and laughing about.
- 1:40:26Speaker 2: We can handle this because this doesn't even touch the
- 1:40:29Speaker 2: car wreck in the fucking Alps and having to figure
- 1:40:33Speaker 2: all that stuff out.
- 1:40:34Speaker 1: This is easy.
- 1:40:35Speaker 2: Yeah, it's good for the parents too, and great minds
- 1:40:39Speaker 2: think alike. Will my lesson of the week, Take your
- 1:40:43Speaker 2: kids on adventures big or small. Let's go, dude, big
- 1:40:48Speaker 2: or small. I put bike rides, fishing hikes, swimming, a
- 1:40:52Speaker 2: late snack trip before bed, a beautiful spot to watch
- 1:40:55Speaker 2: the sunrise or sunset. Just those little adventures so you
- 1:41:00Speaker 2: can take if you're on a budget, or the bigger
- 1:41:03Speaker 2: adventures of like a vacation, take your kids on those,
- 1:41:07Speaker 2: because it dude, being a counselor at a summer camp
- 1:41:11Speaker 2: and seeing the kids that we would go on these
- 1:41:14Speaker 2: like week long truly, like week long canoe trips down
- 1:41:18Speaker 2: the White River in Arkansas, and you can see it
- 1:41:22Speaker 2: in the kids that have been out doing hikes and
- 1:41:26Speaker 2: doing all that stuff. And you put them in a
- 1:41:27Speaker 2: canoe and you hand them an ore and they're like, okay, yeah,
- 1:41:31Speaker 2: like I could do I could do a canoe. You
- 1:41:33Speaker 2: hand them a fishing pole, They're already got the worm
- 1:41:35Speaker 2: halfway on the hook. You're like, kiddo's got it. Yeah,
- 1:41:39Speaker 2: he's got it. Even if he's ever fished before, he
- 1:41:41Speaker 2: gets it. He knows what he needs to be doing.
- 1:41:43Speaker 1: He's got it. And then you got the other kids.
- 1:41:45Speaker 2: I'm wet, I'm wet. You're like, yeah, dude, you're wet.
- 1:41:50Speaker 2: You're outside. Welcome to the outdoors, you know what I mean. Like,
- 1:41:54Speaker 2: it builds a lot of character, and it builds a
- 1:41:56Speaker 2: lot of experience for kiddos and does little adventures right.
- 1:42:01Speaker 1: In that confidence aspect too.
- 1:42:02Speaker 3: I know there were a few times where we're leaving,
- 1:42:04Speaker 3: you know, we drop them off a kid's clip for
- 1:42:05Speaker 3: a couple hours, and they'd be kind of beside themselves,
- 1:42:07Speaker 3: kind of sad. Scotty would just Scotty was tough. Hey, Ru,
- 1:42:11Speaker 3: Rue was being a great big sister. Say sweet up
- 1:42:13Speaker 3: before you go playing in your area. It'd be sick
- 1:42:16Speaker 3: if you could say in this baby area right now.
- 1:42:18Speaker 3: To help Scotty just adapt and know mom and dad
- 1:42:21Speaker 3: is going to be gone, and you just you be
- 1:42:22Speaker 3: her friend, like yeah, be the familiar face for her,
- 1:42:25Speaker 3: because again, they're around kids where it's like other languages,
- 1:42:28Speaker 3: other stuff. Ru'd come out of it and tell us
- 1:42:30Speaker 3: about one friend that she made, and again it's like
- 1:42:33Speaker 3: over there in Europe they know about four or five
- 1:42:36Speaker 3: different languages at a time. It makes me feel like
- 1:42:39Speaker 3: us just knowing English, it makes me want to learn
- 1:42:41Speaker 3: a new language. But it's fascinating to me that the
- 1:42:44Speaker 3: Europeans can just be fluid in all of these different languages.
- 1:42:47Speaker 3: But to know you're you come out of it, and
- 1:42:49Speaker 3: Rue tells you about a friend she made, and just
- 1:42:52Speaker 3: the confidence that I feel like Ru has garnered from
- 1:42:55Speaker 3: stuff like that, Like she now looks at waiters and
- 1:42:58Speaker 3: waitresses wants to tell her tell them what her order
- 1:43:00Speaker 3: is when she used to be very shy about that.
- 1:43:03Speaker 3: And even something as simple as wake enough to go
- 1:43:05Speaker 3: see a sunrise and stuff like that, to where you
- 1:43:07Speaker 3: got to get them up early. They don't really know
- 1:43:09Speaker 3: they're complaining they're doing this, dude, I just want to
- 1:43:10Speaker 3: take you to go watch the SunFest sept forst say
- 1:43:12Speaker 3: it's gonna be worth it, It's gonna be worth it.
- 1:43:14Speaker 3: Then you get there, you watch the sunrise. Maybe it's
- 1:43:16Speaker 3: not even they're doing things where it doesn't feel like
- 1:43:18Speaker 3: it's worth it, but just going through those little moments
- 1:43:21Speaker 3: of friction to start to create patterns and repetition for
- 1:43:27Speaker 3: whether they're gonna remember it or not, like it will serve.
- 1:43:30Speaker 3: It's going to serve not only you, but serve them,
- 1:43:32Speaker 3: serve the family, serve all of that stuff.
- 1:43:33Speaker 2: So and help give them some identity in themselves of
- 1:43:37Speaker 2: you know, I don't know if I can do this.
- 1:43:39Speaker 2: What are you talking about? When you were do you
- 1:43:42Speaker 2: not remember and Italy when you went down the red slide? Yeah,
- 1:43:45Speaker 2: that red slide's way bigger than this thing.
- 1:43:48Speaker 1: Yeah, oh yeah, you're.
- 1:43:49Speaker 3: Right that, Oh sweetheart, This forty minutes is gonna fly by. Hey,
- 1:43:53Speaker 3: a little bit ago, it was two hundred minutes when
- 1:43:54Speaker 3: we were gonna get there. You took a nap. One
- 1:43:56Speaker 3: hundred minutes went away. If you lay your head down now,
- 1:43:59Speaker 3: maybe you'll sleep through the red.
- 1:44:00Speaker 1: Just be patient. We're gonna get there soon.
- 1:44:02Speaker 3: Just all of this stuff that is fucking exhausting in
- 1:44:06Speaker 3: the moment, it's just it's like embracing the fucking suck
- 1:44:08Speaker 3: like the good dude it is because.
- 1:44:12Speaker 1: We go ahead. I'm just gonna say, we're also the same,
- 1:44:17Speaker 1: like I know me, I'll sit there back. Yeah, why
- 1:44:19Speaker 1: do we like? This stuff is exhaust hell.
- 1:44:24Speaker 2: Getting Scarlet to the beach, just getting her to the
- 1:44:27Speaker 2: beach ship, all the things you gotta take and car.
- 1:44:30Speaker 1: And be prepared for.
- 1:44:31Speaker 2: Will shout out Jill, shout out Jill, like just love you, honey,
- 1:44:35Speaker 2: and you're an absolute demon on getting stuff prepped.
- 1:44:39Speaker 1: A true sick out.
- 1:44:40Speaker 3: I'll be standing there like, oh, we just need the
- 1:44:42Speaker 3: water bottles and a couple of snacks. Let's hit the voicemails.
- 1:44:45Speaker 3: Six and one the dads you want to call in
- 1:44:46Speaker 3: leave a story, event, win, lost whatever. Six on one
- 1:44:49Speaker 3: of the dad's call evil voicemail. Well, I'm worried about
- 1:44:51Speaker 3: this first one. I just saw the title of it.
- 1:44:54Speaker 1: I'm not gonna spoil it. I'm just gonna hit play. Okay,
- 1:44:57Speaker 1: this is not gonna be good boys.
- 1:45:03Speaker 5: Cole Lighter and Calling from the Great White North Rocky
- 1:45:07Speaker 5: Mountain House, Alberta, Canada. A little late to the party,
- 1:45:11Speaker 5: but I had to tell this story because my wife
- 1:45:14Speaker 5: forgot Father's Day. Sunday night or Sunday morning, I guess.
- 1:45:20Speaker 5: Wife comes in at five point thirty in the morning,
- 1:45:23Speaker 5: baby monitor in hand to ask me to get up
- 1:45:26Speaker 5: with our daughter. So of course I get up. No problems,
- 1:45:31Speaker 5: nothing like going to watch a little Sunday Morning. Miss
- 1:45:34Speaker 5: Rachel learning how to count again because I'm a oil
- 1:45:36Speaker 5: real dad. Not long after that, my son, four year
- 1:45:41Speaker 5: old son gets up, comes and joins the party, making breakfast,
- 1:45:45Speaker 5: having a good time. Not long after that, my wife
- 1:45:49Speaker 5: gets up, not a word said nothing. We go a
- 1:45:53Speaker 5: couple hours when from the kitchen I hear, oh fuck,
- 1:45:58Speaker 5: I forgot it's Father's Day. Oh just wandering?
- 1:46:05Speaker 7: Do we?
- 1:46:06Speaker 1: Uh?
- 1:46:06Speaker 5: Obviously I still have that in the pocket that I'm
- 1:46:10Speaker 5: or do I use it on a little golf trip,
- 1:46:12Speaker 5: a little a little bit of this, a little bit
- 1:46:14Speaker 5: of that. Obviously, shockwave happened.
- 1:46:17Speaker 1: Because she felt terrible because of course, yeah, love.
- 1:46:21Speaker 5: The pod voice, keep it up that out.
- 1:46:26Speaker 1: Oh man, he's in a good spot. Oh great, it's
- 1:46:30Speaker 1: you know, it hurts in the moment, but just look
- 1:46:33Speaker 1: look what you can now.
- 1:46:34Speaker 3: Read right like you all the experts tell you everything
- 1:46:38Speaker 3: is a negotiation, and look and look inside your house first,
- 1:46:41Speaker 3: like every conversation you're having, you are negotiating with your wife,
- 1:46:44Speaker 3: with your kids, with your loved ones, with your kiddos. Yeah,

- 1:47:22Speaker 3: just make sure it's planned. But you're now not confined
- 1:47:26Speaker 3: to a day that was already specified. Yes, now you
- 1:47:29Speaker 3: have a rolodex of your choosing. Yes, you you don't
- 1:47:33Speaker 3: have a Trump card?
- 1:47:35Speaker 1: Uh? If you will?

- 1:48:24Speaker 4: guys are talking about Shirm getting best at Ever. I mean,
- 1:48:27Speaker 4: first off, sherm, congrats. Maybe deserve, maybe not deserve to
- 1:48:32Speaker 4: see a beast. But I was thinking through Father's Day
- 1:48:37Speaker 4: a fellow pet sixer myself. Notice all these other dads, Okay, no,
- 1:48:41Speaker 4: his best dad ever, best at ever? And I want
- 1:48:43Speaker 4: to know, as as a gamer, as as someone that
- 1:48:47Speaker 4: likes competition, what the fuck they did to deserve best
- 1:48:51Speaker 4: at ever? You know, you have a guy out here
- 1:48:53Speaker 4: who's been a dad for six months.

- 1:49:00Speaker 4: And so I told my wife, you know, if you
- 1:49:03Speaker 4: put a little post out there, she said, I'm the
- 1:49:06Speaker 4: best dad to our son.
- 1:49:07Speaker 1: Well obviously because competition is very low. Yeah, thank you.
- 1:49:12Speaker 4: At the end of the day, we need to cut
- 1:49:14Speaker 4: back on the old best dad everything. It's not you sure,
- 1:49:17Speaker 4: we'll give it to you, buddy.
- 1:49:20Speaker 1: Six months ain't no year. Six six months ain't no year.
- 1:49:23Speaker 1: And thank you. I'm undeserving.
- 1:49:25Speaker 2: I mean I hated bringing in that uh framed photo
- 1:49:30Speaker 2: that said best at Ever. Like it killed me on
- 1:49:33Speaker 2: the inside to like bring that in here and display
- 1:49:36Speaker 2: that on my desk because I don't want to rub
- 1:49:38Speaker 2: it in people's face.
- 1:49:39Speaker 1: Yeah, you don't want to rub in our faces.
- 1:49:40Speaker 2: But if Jill is giving that, like if I received
- 1:49:43Speaker 2: that award, I'm gonna display it. But I don't go, Hey, Truman, young,
- 1:49:48Speaker 2: best at ever.
- 1:49:49Speaker 1: Nice to meet you. I'm not that guy. I'm not kidding.
- 1:49:52Speaker 2: You could be, but you choose not to choose to be.

- 1:51:20Speaker 2: this and then you know, title me the best at ever?
- 1:51:23Speaker 1: Was There's a lot of hardworking dads out there. What
- 1:51:25Speaker 1: does I say to Will?
- 1:51:26Speaker 3: What does that say to the other dads who have
- 1:51:28Speaker 3: not only father children, but have raised them to be
- 1:51:30Speaker 3: adults and they're successful adults and kids that they're very
- 1:51:34Speaker 3: proud of and happy with. And their kids are like,
- 1:51:36Speaker 3: you know, you got some weathered, experienced fathers out there.
- 1:51:39Speaker 1: Yeah, they're pushing eighty right now. They did a hell
- 1:51:41Speaker 1: of a job. Speaking of best dads.

- 1:52:52Speaker 3: with the dead look. I'm like, oh, yes, sir, kind
- 1:52:54Speaker 3: of smiling like you see this.
- 1:52:55Speaker 1: One crying like.
- 1:52:58Speaker 3: Man, he wanted to pull out his phone and just
- 1:53:00Speaker 3: say that he's been listening before the dads, going to
- 1:53:03Speaker 3: pull out his phone and show and show his kid.
- 1:53:05Speaker 3: And he was just fired up to meet me and
- 1:53:10Speaker 3: talk about for the dads. And when he was talking
- 1:53:12Speaker 3: about his kiddo, he was legitimately was garnering like tears
- 1:53:17Speaker 3: in his eyes talking about I felt like I was
- 1:53:23Speaker 3: in the moment with him again. Exhaustion was we we
- 1:53:26Speaker 3: were we we were on e yeah, and I was
- 1:53:29Speaker 3: sharing the moment with him. I wish I could have
- 1:53:31Speaker 3: been in it with him even more because it was
- 1:53:33Speaker 3: very fleeting, like charl walks like, hey, we got like
- 1:53:35Speaker 3: the priority, the priority boarding with the kiddo's. We need
- 1:53:38Speaker 3: to get up, we need to get out. Yeah, but

- 1:54:16Speaker 3: like fall asleep.
- 1:54:17Speaker 1: For like ten twenty minutes at a time. Then we'd
- 1:54:19Speaker 1: have to get moving.
- 1:54:19Speaker 3: We're trying to hold her off to fall asleep on
- 1:54:21Speaker 3: the plane, but she gets so where she's beyond exhausted,
- 1:54:24Speaker 3: crying like screaming. I'm talking bloody fucking murder, screaming to
- 1:54:28Speaker 3: where we're trying to get to the point.
- 1:54:30Speaker 1: Where we're leaving.
- 1:54:31Speaker 3: We're we're leaving the dock or whatever from the airport
- 1:54:36Speaker 3: to drive out to take off the fly. So that's
- 1:54:38Speaker 3: like a good ten to twenty minute process. Scotty is screaming, wrestling,
- 1:54:44Speaker 3: choral wrestling, holding her, shaking or doing the physical. I'm
- 1:54:47Speaker 3: holding her, I'm like sweetart like keeping a low voice.
- 1:54:49Speaker 3: We're round everybody. The flight attendants are sitting up there.
- 1:54:55Speaker 3: Everybody's trapped in. You can't be on the ground whatsoever.
- 1:54:57Speaker 3: Scotti is just beside herself, bro talking. We went through
- 1:55:01Speaker 3: war there at the end. But to the point where

- 1:55:22Speaker 3: great job because we stayed composed and poised, like got
