- 0:27Hi everyone, welcome to Mini Scroll, the daily Internet
- 0:32culture podcast bringing you the biggest stories from social
- 0:35media, the creator economy and the digital space.
- 0:38Every Monday through Thursday and sometimes Fridays.
- 0:41I'm your host, Lauren Meisner, the founder of the youth digital
- 0:45media brand Centennial World. Welcome back to Mini Scroll,
- 0:49everyone. All right, sorry that we were
- 0:52Mia yesterday. I said it at the end of Friday's
- 0:55episode, but if you guys didn't listen to the end, then you
- 0:57wouldn't have caught it. But Monday was a public holiday
- 0:59for us here in Australia, at least in NSW.
- 1:02I don't know if it was every state.
- 1:04But yes, before I get into the stories, obviously please rate,
- 1:07review and subscribe. Please Spotify star rate US.
- 1:10We are trying to get to 1000 Spotify star ratings by the end
- 1:13of the year. Also, we have two deep dives
- 1:17this month, exciting, and one of them we're going to be diving
- 1:22into fan fiction. That's all I'm going to say for
- 1:25right now. But Annabelle has set up a
- 1:28Google form and she asked me to ask you guys if anybody was like
- 1:32really into fan fiction, if you guys wrote fan fiction, if you
- 1:36were really into that community when you were younger or even
- 1:40still now, Can you please select the Google form?
- 1:42So we'll be in the description. All right, the first story that
- 1:47I have for you guys, obviously I'm having like nightmares about
- 1:51covering this. OK, I'm going to be talking
- 1:53about Taylor Swift's The Life of a Showgirl album release and
- 1:59what everyone is saying about it.
- 2:01Taylor Swift has released her 12th studio album called The
- 2:04Life of a Showgirl. She released it on Friday and I
- 2:07honestly don't think that we have seen one of her albums
- 2:10generate so much discourse online.
- 2:13Maybe reputation, but reputation was pre TikTok, which meant that
- 2:18the average consumer who does not necessarily identify as a
- 2:22music stand or a swifty was not like getting involved in the
- 2:26discourse like we all are now. So like I said, I've been having
- 2:29nightmares about having to cover this.
- 2:30I'm not kidding. I had a very restful long
- 2:33weekend. I'm in a book club, I think I
- 2:35said this Friday and we're meeting tomorrow for the the
- 2:37first time. And so I spent the whole weekend
- 2:39reading the book and I was just like in the park in the sun with
- 2:41my dog. Like it was such a nice weekend.
- 2:44And then Taylor Swift's Life of a Showgirl, the fact that I had
- 2:47to cover it on Minnie would, like seep into my brain and I'd
- 2:49be like, Oh my God. Because this is literally a such
- 2:52a controversial album and it freaks me out.
- 2:56Like the Swifties freak me out. People who are not Swifties
- 2:59freak me out. Like it's all freaking me out.
- 3:01It's a lot. And I'm sure you guys have been
- 3:03exposed to it as well. So this time I'm going to cover
- 3:06it. OK, I'm going to cover it mainly
- 3:07from a cultural perspective. I'll go through the main
- 3:10criticisms that people have, but obviously I'm not a music
- 3:14critic. My degree is not in English or
- 3:17poetry or creative writing. So my expertise in covering this
- 3:21album will not lie in those criticisms where I feel like I
- 3:25can lend expertise and what I think you guys come to this
- 3:29podcast for anyways is the cultural analysis.
- 3:32So looking at this album and why it landed the way it did, kind
- 3:37of in the context of the cultural zeitgeist right now.
- 3:40OK, I'm going to just go through the points of criticism.
- 3:43There is no particular order to this.
- 3:45This is just kind of what has been going on.
- 3:47Number one, people are saying the album is very lyrically weak
- 3:51and she allegedly took a lot of samples from other songs without
- 3:55crediting them. People are calling the lyrics
- 3:57cringe simple not living U to the lyrical standard that she
- 4:02set for herself. I've seen a lot of people be
- 4:04like, God forbid I hold Taylor Swift to the standard that she
- 4:07created for herself. And a lot of the references that
- 4:11she uses throughout this feel very dated.
- 4:13Like even in cancelled, which I will get into in a minute.
- 4:16But you know, the song Cancelled where she's like, did you girl a
- 4:19boss too close to the sun? Obviously that is her
- 4:22referencing like Internet vernacular and trying to kind of
- 4:25make light, I suppose, of how people get, you know, cancelled
- 4:28so easily online. And she's being like, oh, did
- 4:31you girl a boss too close to the sun?
- 4:32Like, I get what she's trying to do there, but people are saying
- 4:34even using that term as like a reference, that phrase as a
- 4:38reference feels so like 2021-2022.
- 4:41OK, the music credit thing is a big issue because we know that
- 4:45Taylor, or at least her team went after Olivia Rodrigo for
- 4:50sampling her songs or allegedly sampling her songs after
- 4:54Olivia's album came out. And she ended up giving Taylor
- 4:58Swift 3 writing credits on that album.
- 5:00So it's a big issue for Taylor, it seems, or at least her team,
- 5:04like I said. And so then to be seemingly
- 5:07sampling many songs, songs, there's so many songs on this
- 5:11album where I was like, that sounds exactly like this song.
- 5:14And I mean, that's not like a hot take that, you know,
- 5:16discourses all over the Internet.
- 5:18And, yeah, a lot of people feel like there are nowhere near
- 5:20enough credits on the album for how much it sounds like she
- 5:24sampled other people's work. The second main criticism is
- 5:27there's a lot of mean girl energy basically writing what
- 5:30seems like a diss track about Charli XCX on Actually Romantic.
- 5:34She also calls women bitches twice in the album.
- 5:36And we know that she has publicly spoken out about being
- 5:40called a bitch herself in music. And Kanye's song, she kind of
- 5:43stands against that. So people felt like that was, I
- 5:45don't know, hypocritical, I suppose.
- 5:48In the Amazon Music intro to the song Actually Romantic, Taylor
- 5:52says that Actually Romantic is a song about finding out that
- 5:54you're basically living rent free in someone's head.
- 5:56But it does sound like almost a direct response to Charlie XX.
- 6:01The song Sympathy is a Knife which is rumored to be about
- 6:03Charlie's insecurities about Taylor Swift and people found
- 6:07actually romantic really mean because Charlie song is more
- 6:10like about herself and her own insecurities.
- 6:14Now, I have seen the tape that like, sure, if you're comparing
- 6:17song to song, maybe that seems petty and mean of Taylor to
- 6:21release actually romantic. But these women know each other
- 6:24in real life and they have had a relationship of some sort for
- 6:27years. So there's a lot more that like
- 6:30we as the audience, that's the public as the fans might not
- 6:34know. That's probably informing these
- 6:36kind of diss tracks. I don't know.
- 6:38That's probably not the right word, but these songs, I
- 6:40suppose. I've also seen people say that
- 6:42Taylor's punching down by putting out this song and it's
- 6:46so funny because it's like unintentionally being rude about
- 6:49Charlie. Like imagine you heard people
- 6:52all across the Internet saying this person is punching down to
- 6:55you, you'd be like, okay fuck me then.
- 6:58And obviously I understand. Like Taylor is the most relevant
- 7:01person in pop music at the moment.
- 7:03Like she is the biggest superstar in her position, she
- 7:06can be punching down to anyone, right?
- 7:08But I just think it's so funny 'cause that's quite literally
- 7:10what sympathy is the Knife is about, is about how Charlie
- 7:13feels like she doesn't live up to this, you know, amazing
- 7:16standard. And people are like, you're
- 7:17punching down on her. OK.
- 7:19I also did want to make the point here that some fans
- 7:21believe that Father Figure is about Olivia Rodrigo.
- 7:24I don't think that I think it's actually about buying her
- 7:28master's back and kind of like flipping that power dynamic from
- 7:31her being a young girl who signed away her music rights
- 7:34without like fully understanding the implications of that.
- 7:36Being told by these older men in the industry.
- 7:39Like you know, you'll be safe, I take care of the family,
- 7:42whatever. And then obviously getting
- 7:44fucked over and coming back out on top, buying them back, being
- 7:48the one in power next. A lot of people feel like this
- 7:50album is filled with mag a dog whistles.
- 7:53There's lots of messaging throughout the album that people
- 7:56are considering to be promoting trad wife lifestyles and covert
- 8:00or maybe not so covert, white supremacist messaging.
- 8:04Wish List and Cancelled are pretty much top of this offender
- 8:07list. Also eldest daughter with two
- 8:09specific lyrics. So an eldest daughter.
- 8:12Taylor sings I'm not a bad bitch and this isn't savage.
- 8:15And a lot of people think that that is a reference to the
- 8:18Beyoncé remix of Megan the Stallion's Savage and which they
- 8:22sing I'm a bad bitch, she's a savage.
- 8:25No comparison here. When I read those lyrics side by
- 8:28side, I'm not going to lie, you guys, I was like, oh, that does
- 8:32sound like quite the direct reference.
- 8:34I have no idea why she would be referencing that in Eldest
- 8:38Daughter. That connection doesn't make
- 8:40sense for me, but I was kind of like, oh, shit, like that seems
- 8:46like a direct reference now. I guess there's a lot of
- 8:50messaging throughout this. Honestly, I can't go through
- 8:51like all the lyrics that people feel like is a major problem.
- 8:55You know, the stuff with Travis and wanting the whole block to
- 8:58look like him. And of course there's questions
- 9:01of like, did she mean she wants to live in like an all white
- 9:04suburb? Like, what does she mean by
- 9:05that? In general, do I think that
- 9:07Taylor Swift is intentionally making propaganda in this album?
- 9:13I hope not. I think she is probably mostly
- 9:17trying to sing about being in love and wanting a family with
- 9:19Travis. But I think with all the lyrics
- 9:22that people are interpreting as dog whistles, it's not really
- 9:26about what she's intended, it's more about how it landed in this
- 9:30current political and social climate.
- 9:33The problem is Taylor can come across as contradictory in her
- 9:37political stances and sometimes complacent.
- 9:39Actually, I would argue actually a lot of times complacent, for
- 9:42example, this is literally just one example, but you know, she's
- 9:45surrounded with MAGA in this era of her life, but she also then
- 9:49publicly endorsed Kamala Harris. And yes, you can say that people
- 9:53who have opposing political views can hang out, but I think
- 9:57things are so polarized right now and have become so extreme.
- 10:01And like, there's been so much like, escalation in the US in
- 10:04this past year. It's confusing to fans that
- 10:08somebody with such big influence would be OK with that public
- 10:12association if she supposedly stands for opposing views.
- 10:16People don't want to hear about a billionaire singing about how
- 10:19everyone else wants yachts and money and she just wants Travis
- 10:23when she has the odds and the money already and has displayed
- 10:28arguably a lot of greed over the years to obtain that.
- 10:32And again, I don't think that's what she meant in wishlist.
- 10:34Like, I don't think wishlist was her saying, you know, oh, you
- 10:38guys all just want this like superficial stuff.
- 10:40But like all I care about is the meaningful stuff.
- 10:43I really think in that song she is trying to convey that
- 10:46everybody wants it all. Like everybody wants to have it
- 10:49both ways. You always want when you can't
- 10:51have whatever and it's normal. And that's that's very normal.
- 10:54But with so much of this album, it's not interpreted that way
- 10:59because she is so hugely disconnected from reality and
- 11:03culture and the lyrical expression of those messages.
- 11:08It's just not like strong enough to land.
- 11:11I'm kind of getting ahead of myself, but I do feel like this
- 11:13album is the result of a billionaire being surrounded by
- 11:18too many white people. And I actually don't agree that
- 11:22it's not that deep and that we should just, like, let her live
- 11:24and let her be in love and let her sing her love songs.
- 11:26Like Taylor has actively worked to become the most famous and
- 11:32rich and successful pop star in the entire world in history,
- 11:36basically. And the reality is, with great
- 11:39influence comes great responsibility.
- 11:42She deserves to write an album about love and wanting marriage
- 11:46and babies and finally finding the one like that is totally
- 11:50fine. And I don't think Taylor wants
- 11:52to be a trad wife. I don't think she's actually
- 11:54trying to peddle that propaganda.
- 11:55But Taylor is arguably one of the most influential people in
- 11:59the entire world with a subset of young women.
- 12:02And the messaging that she puts out, whether it's intentional or
- 12:05not, deserves to be critiqued. And how it lands, I think
- 12:10deserves to be critiqued. So if enough people are saying,
- 12:13hey, look, it's probably not what you meant, but the way that
- 12:16this album is coming across, it's not great.
- 12:20That's OK. Like, that's OK that we are
- 12:22critiquing that she chose to have this power.
- 12:24Like she worked for two decades to obtain this level of power.
- 12:29This didn't just happen to her. This is not like, I don't know,
- 12:31like a Charlie D'amelio situation or something where she
- 12:34just happened to become super famous overnight.
- 12:38Like she has worked really hard for this.
- 12:40She wanted this. So people critiquing her art and
- 12:44how she's obtained that money, that power and its messaging,
- 12:48like that's part of the deal. That being said, two things can
- 12:51be true. It can be true that Taylor
- 12:54deserves to be critiqued, and it can also be true that there is
- 12:57so much misogyny around her and her success that she is
- 13:02criticized so much more and so much more harshly than her male
- 13:06peers. And I think that's the song that
- 13:07she should have written instead of cancelled.
- 13:09The thing is, like, all of the criticisms that people have of
- 13:13this album, Taylor has produced music like that before.
- 13:16She has produced music about sex.
- 13:18She has produced music that's all about like, you know, the
- 13:21harsh criticism around her, her ambition, wanting love, finding
- 13:26love, feeling like she found the one.
- 13:28She has created music about all of these topics but they've
- 13:32never landed like this because altogether this album is so
- 13:37poorly put together because it just.
- 13:39You can so see there is like an incredible disconnect between
- 13:43Taylor at this phase in her career and who she's spending
- 13:46time with and how successful and removed from like society she
- 13:50has become post eras and the elements of humanity that she's
- 13:53trying to sing about. Another criticism is that the
- 13:55album concept makes no sense. So she build this very much as
- 13:59like a look behind the curtain of her life while doing the Eras
- 14:01tour and the marketing around this album it was very
- 14:05mismatched with the actual subject matter.
- 14:08Like honestly I think she should have called this album the life
- 14:10of a happy girlfriend and maybe there would be less criticism
- 14:14around it. But her first album post eras
- 14:17the biggest pop tour of all time.
- 14:20With this album being called the life of a showgirl and being
- 14:23marketed to us as the look behind the curtain, we expected
- 14:26songs about hitting the absolute peak of her career, the place
- 14:32she has literally been fighting to get to for two decades.
- 14:37Like, I want to hear about how grueling that ambition is, the
- 14:40sacrifices it took to get there, how being an eldest daughter
- 14:44influenced that ambition and that insatiable Dr. that she
- 14:48has. What it was like being on the
- 14:50Eris tour while dealing with heartbreak twice and then
- 14:53finding love, the celebration of buying her master's back.
- 14:57I know she's given us these things before, especially in
- 15:00Tortured Poets. She talked a little bit about
- 15:02this, but it's strange that she marketed then this album as the
- 15:06actual look behind the experience when it wasn't that
- 15:08at all. And fans I know are also saying
- 15:11that the people who are defending this are saying, well,
- 15:13it's the life of the showgirl, not the showgirl life.
- 15:17And like, I know, I know, I get it.
- 15:20And I know that falling in love with Travis was a big part of,
- 15:24you know, the eras were for her. And I would of course never
- 15:27expect an album to come out and not have songs about that
- 15:29experience and not have songs about him.
- 15:32But the visuals, the branding, the way she personally spoke
- 15:35about this album, it just like makes no sense with the subject
- 15:38matter. I saw this comment on TikTok and
- 15:40I really loved it, Lavender Haze 1990 said.
- 15:43I was expecting songs about her alone in her hotel room, about
- 15:46the pressure she felt about the joy of seeing us come together
- 15:50after Vienna. But we got wood instead.
- 15:53Taylor got to the biggest place that an artist can basically
- 15:58ever get to. Like she literally got
- 16:00everything she wanted. At the same time she's in the
- 16:03process of buying her master's back.
- 16:05Like I can't imagine she is like on top of the world and her
- 16:08first album off the back of that moment of getting everything she
- 16:13has fought for for so long was about Travis and not those
- 16:17accomplishments. And in my opinion, Travis is the
- 16:21least interesting part of this chapter of Taylor Swift's life.
- 16:25OK. And the final criticism
- 16:26actually, I should say there are obviously way more criticisms,
- 16:29but like I cannot hit all of them.
- 16:31This would be like a 13 hour episode.
- 16:32OK. The other one is that she used
- 16:35AI to make song visuals. And I'm actually not going to go
- 16:38into this too much because Annabelle will talk about this
- 16:40tomorrow on mini tech. So come back for that.
- 16:43So that's the main kind of feedback around this album.
- 16:46Look, I actually like some of the music on this album.
- 16:50OK, I am not a lyrics girl, I never have been, which is why I
- 16:54like folklore and Evermore are my least favorite Taylor Swift
- 16:57albums. I can appreciate them, but I
- 17:00would never intentionally put them on.
- 17:02I am very much a listen to music for the vibes kind of girl.
- 17:05So there are several songs on this album that I really like,
- 17:08and I hope I have been able to deliver this segment of the
- 17:12episode with neutrality to an extent.
- 17:15Like, obviously I'm always going to share my opinion.
- 17:17That's like the interesting part of pop culture commentary,
- 17:20right, of pop culture reporting is pop culture is inherently
- 17:23social. I really believe that.
- 17:25And I believe if you have a pop culture show where you're doing
- 17:28pop culture reporting, it's important for you to share your
- 17:31opinions on things so people know where you stand.
- 17:34And I think that's the interesting part of pop culture
- 17:36because like I said, it's inherently social.
- 17:38So of course I shared my opinions on things, but I hope
- 17:41it didn't come across that I was like being a #1 Taylor Swift
- 17:44hater or like too defensive of her.
- 17:48Do I believe she meant for this album to land this way?
- 17:51No. Do I believe that it is possible
- 17:54that as culture shifts more conservative and who she's
- 17:57choosing to hang out with appears to also be shifting more
- 18:00conservative, she is being impacted by that, whether she
- 18:05realizes it or not? Yeah.
- 18:07Maybe. Do I feel like she needed to
- 18:09have less white people in the room when she was producing and
- 18:13writing and putting this album out?
- 18:16Yeah. Also probably.
- 18:17All right. The second story that I have for
- 18:19you guys. Oh, my God.
- 18:21This is another big one. But I'm going to be breaking
- 18:23down the surviving Lila Gibney saga.
- 18:27So I actually talked about this on Friday, but I cut it out of
- 18:30the episode. I talked about it because it was
- 18:33starting to just, like, blow up a little bit.
- 18:35Lila had not responded yet. People were starting to talk
- 18:38about it, and I could tell it was going to become a really big
- 18:40story. I didn't want you guys to feel
- 18:43like I was intentionally ignoring it.
- 18:44But at the time it felt like a lot of really major accusations.
- 18:48Like I said, Lila hadn't addressed it yet, and I felt
- 18:51like it was a little bit icky to platform that.
- 18:55So I touched on it in the sense of like, hey, guys, this is
- 18:58happening. I'm not sure if I'm going to
- 18:59cover it, but like, just wanted to let you know.
- 19:01And then I cut it out because I was like, well, why would I say
- 19:04like, hey, this is happening and platform it like that for you
- 19:07guys. And then not like dive into it.
- 19:10And then I'm just like, part of the problem.
- 19:12So anyways, that's my story on that.
- 19:14This has gotten so big. And because Lila has addressed
- 19:16it, I will talk to you guys about it now.
- 19:18So surviving Lila Gibney, it all started when Cole Kerrigan took
- 19:23to Tiktok to quote UN quote, expose Lila Gibney.
- 19:26So if you're not familiar with these two, Cole Kerrigan is a
- 19:28beauty creator making content, sharing different makeup looks.
- 19:32You may have heard of Cole for a couple of reasons.
- 19:34He was close with Tana Mojo for a time.
- 19:37He was also a member of Jake Paul's team 10 house, which I
- 19:40didn't actually even know until this, but he reportedly was,
- 19:43quote, verbally abused and bullied out of the house.
- 19:46He also alleged that Austin Mcbroom sexually assaulted one
- 19:50of his close friends. And Cole has also been pretty
- 19:52vocal about his struggles with addiction online.
- 19:55So that's, you know, gained him a bit of a following as well.
- 19:57Meanwhile, Lila Gibney is an Internet personality as well.
- 20:01Many people know her. Through Tana Mojo and her friend
- 20:03group. But throughout the canceled
- 20:05podcast, which is obviously no longer, Tana and Brooke had been
- 20:09pretty vocal about how they had distance themselves from her.
- 20:12I think we've covered Lila maybe once or twice.
- 20:14But that being said, Cole Kerrigan is also problematic in
- 20:18his own right. He has found himself in various
- 20:20scandals over the years. OK, so this whole situation
- 20:23started because Cole posted a paragraph on TikTok about his
- 20:26experience recently staying with Lila Gibney.
- 20:29It read quote deciding if I want to tell a story time on how the
- 20:32most psychotic wannabe influencer Lila Gibney treated
- 20:36me when I went to stay with her for a concert.
- 20:38Like when she accused me of stealing her literal crack
- 20:40because she lost it knowing him in recovery and sober.
- 20:43Or finding my stolen Dior shoes slash Fendi sunglasses and more
- 20:47in her closet that I lost when I lived in LA.
- 20:50Or when she made me sit alone at dinner for an hour while she had
- 20:53a photographer come take fake paparazzi photos of her for free
- 20:56and said I couldn't get in one single pic because I had to pay.
- 20:59Or when she cussed me out and threatened to kick me out of her
- 21:02apartment for annoying her, having no consideration that I
- 21:05haven't traveled in five years since I just got sober to see
- 21:08her and a lot more. Cole then posted an 8 minute
- 21:12video on TikTok last week captioned surviving Lila Gibney
- 21:16story time. In it, he made an array of
- 21:18different claims, mostly expanding on what he wrote in
- 21:21the paragraph in his first video.
- 21:22Honestly traumatizing story time on how I went to LA last weekend
- 21:27for a concert and stayed with the most psychotic, robotic, out
- 21:31of touch of reality wannabe celebrity micro influencer Lila
- 21:35Gibney. OK, so one of the biggest
- 21:37takeaways from this video is that Lila couldn't stop peeing
- 21:40everywhere. And many people have started to
- 21:43poke fun at Lila for this. But I did want to say that other
- 21:46people have noted that it may be the result of her transition or
- 21:50her drug use. So it may not be something to
- 21:53actually be like, Oh my God, Lila, give me just like peas
- 21:55everywhere. That's the big take away.
- 21:57Like there could be a problem or there could be a reason behind
- 22:01it. So Reddit and TikTok have been
- 22:02going crazy ever since Cole posted this video.
- 22:06Various creators and users like Ava Louise have also come out as
- 22:10quote UN quote victims or survivors of Lila, alleging that
- 22:14they have been scammed by her and sharing instance of her bad
- 22:17behavior. However, Lila Gibney has since
- 22:20responded to the conversation and backlash around her.
- 22:22In a series of Instagram stories, she pointed to Cole's
- 22:25problematic behavior in the past and also alleged that he was
- 22:28lying. Quote, do you guys not remember
- 22:30him living with Tana and her having to kick him to the curb?
- 22:33He has to move back to Texas because he was slash is such a
- 22:36horrible incompassionate human being.
- 22:38Do you guys not remember when Jake Paul had to kick Cole out
- 22:41in the middle of the night when he lived in the Team 10 house?
- 22:44I have screenshots from over 100 plus people, reliable beautiful
- 22:47reliable souls that have said they've been around Cole.
- 22:50It was the most demonic dark energy they've ever been around.
- 22:53She finished by saying open your eyes and stop believing every
- 22:56fucking thing you bored people are hearing and jumping on the
- 22:59hate train for a goddamn fire. The post is pretty long.
- 23:02If you guys are watching this you can pause to read it.
- 23:04She also addressed the photographer part of Cole's
- 23:06story where Cole alleged that she wouldn't let him get him
- 23:09pictures together without paying the photographer.
- 23:11He was under the impression that Lila was getting these pictures
- 23:13for free. But in an Instagram post, Lila
- 23:16said quote, I paid my photographer to take pictures of
- 23:19me. The photographer said if he
- 23:21wants to be in photos or wants solo shots then he has to pay.
- 23:24She also shared a screenshot showing that she has paid the
- 23:26photographer for his services. Writing me sending my
- 23:29photographer money to shoot me in a dress.
- 23:31There was no fake paparazzi or this or that.
- 23:34I had to get my content for the brand of the dress I was wearing
- 23:36and he didn't want to pay for his pics.
- 23:38So that's very much in a nutshell.
- 23:40Surviving Lila Gibney. You guys can find these videos
- 23:43all over TikTok. Eva Louise is always at the
- 23:45scene of the crime. Like, she's always in the middle
- 23:48of this really niche Internet, like TikTok drama.
- 23:53And the number one thing that people are saying is they cannot
- 23:56believe that all of this has kicked off literally the week
- 24:00after canceled ends. OK.
- 24:03And the last story that I have for you guys, this is a bit of a
- 24:06fun one. OK.
- 24:07We needed something like light and cute.
- 24:09So fans are shipping Sabrina Carpenter and actor Slash DJ,
- 24:15singer, musician Joe Keery. Sabrina Carpenter is headlining
- 24:19Austin City Limits this year, with the first weekend of the
- 24:21festival just finishing up. Her performance has gone pretty
- 24:24viral, partly because she brought out Shania Twain, but
- 24:27also because of her Juno arrest. So before Sabrina performs Juno,
- 24:32she arrests someone in the audience for, quote, being too
- 24:35hot. She then gives them a pair of
- 24:38fuzzy pink handcuffs. Sometimes the recipient is a fan
- 24:41and sometimes it's a celebrity. So over the weekend, she
- 24:44arrested Joe Kiri, also known as DJO.
- 24:48He was also performing at the festival.
- 24:50Joe is known for playing Steve Harrington in Stranger Things,
- 24:54but he's also a popular alternative slash like indie
- 24:57artist. He has a couple of viral TikTok
- 24:59songs, including End of the Beginning, You know?
- 25:01Joe it's it's actually cuffing season.
- 25:04I don't know if you know that it's like we're getting.
- 25:11I was wondering if you, you seem very eager actually.
- 25:14This is so rare. OK, You're the one.
- 25:18We did it, Joe. Anyway, everyone is obsessed
- 25:20with this interaction between Sabrina and Joe, and people are
- 25:24shipping the pair now. So as we know, Sabrina hasn't
- 25:27been linked romantically with anyone since Barry Keegan, and
- 25:31the couple reportedly split in December of last year.
- 25:33Meanwhile, Joe has been linked to actress Chase Zooey Wonders
- 25:36towards the end of 2023, and he previously dated Micah Monroe.
- 25:41I also shipped them. I think that this would be such
- 25:44a fun and cute couple. I mean, I literally know nothing
- 25:47about Joe Carey except for obviously his one viral song and
- 25:50I do watch Stranger Things, but I would love this.
- 25:53I'm ready for Sabrina's next relationship.
- 25:55Not in a trad wife way, not in like a conservative weird way.
- 25:59OK? I want her to be single.
- 26:01She wants to be single. OK?
- 26:02I just think that this would be cute.
- 26:04All right guys, that's it for Mini Scroll today.
- 26:06Thank you so much for listening. Please pray for me in the
- 26:08comments section. I don't know if I'm going to
