- 2:45It was like 107 that what day it was, I can't remember, but it
- 2:48was hot as fuck, yeah. Hot.

- 2:56Mmhmm. It's nice.
- 2:57But sitting across from me, somebody who is very hot.

- 3:08Hello. You like our effects?
- 3:13I do especially that one. Hi, Molly.
- 3:16Well, thank you for coming to our podcast today.
- 3:21You know, we already took a couple shots in and everything
- 3:24like that, but you know, we're here.
- 3:25Talk about just basically everything you know, Just don't
- 3:29be nervous. We we are.
- 3:31We a lot of our guests always says they're nervous.
- 3:35But the same book, when the drinks keep coming in, you're
- 3:37going to be like, OK, I'm not that nervous, I'm already
- 3:40feeling calmer just sitting here, kind of letting the The
- 3:44Moscow Mule sit in. Yes, yes, to let you guys know
- 3:48today we are drinking Tito's, but you know it's a brand new
- 3:54bottle and we already finished it.
- 3:58But anyways so. Molly So tell us about yourself.
- 4:04I am a Wichita native, born and raised here.
- 4:09I've been a music teacher for the past 10 years and I perform
- 4:17around town a little bit here and there.
- 4:20OK, so here local in Wichita. Yep.
- 4:22Do you also ever go out of town? I haven't until actually this
- 4:26summer. I went up to Kansas City because
- 4:29I have family up there and I never have before.
- 4:32I was like, let's go to a few open mics and just kind of see,
- 4:36we just called around a little bit and she has three kids, so
- 4:39we weren't going to go far party, yeah, yeah.
- 4:42But just to check it out and she was such a good sport and she,
- 4:46we went to two of them, maybe 3 and every single one I saw
- 4:52somebody from Wichita. It was very close.
- 4:55It was, yeah, there was the first one.
- 4:57It was somebody he grew up and Goddard and.
- 5:01Who would have thought yeah I know.
- 5:03And then that there was another one.
- 5:04It was basically just an open jam going on and sunshine the
- 5:09Bunny was up there. I would so I got I was like wow
- 5:12I feel totally at home here and that was actually really fun.
- 5:15So other than that I haven't I haven't really done shows out
- 5:20too much outside of Wichita. Cheney, the Sedgwick County Fair
- 5:24and but just pretty much locally.
- 5:26Cool, cool, cool. So what was your life growing up
- 5:31in Wichita? How was it?
- 5:35Let's see I. What made you also grow up with
- 5:39music? Let's do that, okay.
- 5:41So I have, it's going to say I have one older sister and she
- 5:48and I have always been really into music and but really I feel
- 5:52like it came from my mom when I was little.
- 5:55She had like a record player and these huge speakers in the
- 5:58basement and how she'd wake us up in the morning.
- 6:01All like the way volume. She'd turn on those cleaning.
- 6:04Yeah, like Elton John. Crocodile rock at like level 100
- 6:09at like 8A. M Saturday.
- 6:11So wow, it's time to vacuum. I'm like, OK, I guess if this is
- 6:16happening then we might as well jam to it.
- 6:19So I really, really have always loved music because of her.
- 6:24Yeah, that's good. That's good.
- 6:27So you guys wake up to loud music.
- 6:29You're like, oh, I know this is. I think it's time for us to get
- 6:32up and clean. It's a chore day.
- 6:34That's how we knew it was chore day, because it was like just
- 6:37music. And then you'd hear it kind of
- 6:39slowly from the basement and then louder and louder and I'm
- 6:42like. OK, let's just get this Fine.
- 6:46But I actually have that record player now.
- 6:49I think it's pretty much trash. I've tried to get to work so
- 6:52many times, but I have all of her records too.
- 6:55So those are kind of I have like Thriller on Vinyl and Stevie
- 7:01Wonder and the Eagles and that's all kind of easy that I I love
- 7:05that. You know, and it's like, crazy
- 7:07how, like, you know, we went from record players to like
- 7:10digital CD and now we're streaming, you know?
- 7:14Dusty, you know you're a DJ. You know, you guys will buy like
- 7:17records or CD's too as well, you know now kids, the Generation Z,
- 7:22right now they'd be like, what's a record, you know?
- 7:25And they. Anything.
- 7:26You know, they look at my ancient butt and they're like,
- 7:28you still play MP3's. We're streaming it from our
- 7:31computer to the thing. Do you not know what I Spotify
- 7:36is or iTunes? They say now, like when you ask
- 7:40a kid, like the phone, anything with the phone symbol or like
- 7:43hanging up the phone, They don't really understand why you'd hang
- 7:45up the phone. They don't know any.
- 7:47Of that. So yeah, I'm like, yeah, I'm
- 7:49about a million years old now. Yeah, you guys make me really
- 7:52show my age. Yeah, 'cause back then it was
- 7:55that's what it was. It was hanging.
- 7:56You had to hang it up. Mmhmm.
- 7:58But now we just it's end. You end the call.
- 8:02Mmhmm. Yeah, that's just press it
- 8:03really hard. If you're mad, that's all you
- 8:04can. Do and you know, and and you
- 8:06know people hang up on you and you're like, you don't even have
- 8:09to hang up. So like, yeah, you know, 'cause
- 8:11usually when you have like the phone dial, you know it usually,
- 8:15yeah, you have to, you know, turn, like actually hanging
- 8:18hanging up. But you're like, alright, you
- 8:20hang out first. Boop.
- 8:21Done. Done, you know.
- 8:22Back in your pocket, it goes. Back in your pocket, it goes,
- 8:25yes. Um, what type of music did you
- 8:28listen to when you were younger with?
- 8:31OK, let's see. Well, my dad liked country a
- 8:35lot, so we'd listen to country music.
- 8:38I still actually really like 90s country.
- 8:40Yeah, me too. And then like sixties, 70s, kind
- 8:47of classic rock and musicals. I love musicals.
- 8:54I've always loved musicals. You have a favorite musical.
- 9:00OK, I've actually had a debate about this because I always say
- 9:05The Wizard of Oz and then someone's like, The Wizard of Oz
- 9:08isn't a musical. I'm like, absolutely.
- 9:10They did not watch it, no. That's what.
- 9:13I'm saying they probably watched The Wiz, but even that is a
- 9:20musical. So but I was there like no,
- 9:23that's a move. And like, what has music all in
- 9:25it. Somewhere Over the Rainbow is
- 9:26one of my favorite songs of. All did not seen how the Tin Man
- 9:29was singing. And then, yeah, if I only had a
- 9:31brain. If I only had a heart.
- 9:33Yeah, exactly. Dorothy is talking about all
- 9:35kinds of Bluebirds over the rainbow.
- 9:37Come on. They did not watch it.
- 9:40Yeah. I also grew up.
- 9:43This is kind of odd now, but in fifth grade we studied Phantom
- 9:48of the Opera. And I always, I know, it's
- 9:51really like, kind of twisted and weird, but I would, Yeah.
- 9:54Now looking back, I'm like, and and being a music teacher, I'm
- 9:58like, that was kind of some dark theme.
- 10:00Yeah, like kidnapping, you think?
- 10:02It's OK. You're like, he must really love
- 10:05that. Like, wow, she's so beautiful
- 10:08and sings so pretty, but he's like, he's killing people in the
- 10:11back of the auditorium. I was going to ask you if that
- 10:15if that was a musical because if so, that's.
- 10:18Probably the only one that I like.
- 10:20Yeah, do you like that one? And.
- 10:21The opera is like one of the classics, to be honest.
- 10:24Yeah, yeah, I remember. Because a lot.
- 10:26I remember in high school, a lot of our theater, you know, the
- 10:31theater class always do Phantom of the Opera too, as well.
- 10:33What was another one too? That they always do.
- 10:38They do The Wizard of Oz. And there's another one I can't
- 10:41remember. It's always like they always,
- 10:43always do Hamlet. There we go.
- 10:46Is it Hamilton or Hamilton? Hamilton.
- 10:49Hamilton is the is newer? Yes.
- 10:51Oh yeah. But see, I was used to tell my
- 10:56students that you have to kind of watch in Kanto because that
- 11:02has the same guy, Lin Manuel Miranda, who wrote all the
- 11:07music. Because you can't tell.
- 11:09The whole thing starts with he says something about a bastard.
- 11:13How does a poor man bastard? I'm like, I can't teach that to
- 11:15my little kids, like, so just go watching Conto and then when you
- 11:18get home, I want you to look up Hamilton.
- 11:20Yes, exactly. Like, go listen to Bruno and
- 11:24then come back to me. Yes, because we don't talk about
- 11:26Bruno. We don't talk about Bruno.
- 11:28Oh yeah, Addams Family is one too as well.
- 11:31Yes, I saw Chicago in on Broadway in New York City.
- 11:35Chicago There we go. I was like, man, it's it's in my
- 11:39head. It's a Sound of Music.
- 11:40Sound of Music? Yes.
- 11:41Yeah. I think the sound of mix is
- 11:44really good. I loved it.
- 11:46Yeah. I tried to.
- 11:46I've tried to leave before, like for little kids, for Subs and
- 11:51stuff, The Sound of Music and Mary Poppins, and they cannot
- 11:55get into it. But I was like these are the
- 11:57best movies of all time. And Julie Andrews fucking
- 12:00killed. Yeah, she killed.
- 12:02Till she dies. Till she dies.
- 12:04She's so good. I love her.
- 12:06I love her. Over here, talk about musical.
- 12:10I love musical. You know when you ask a kid
- 12:12what's a musical? High School Musical.
- 12:14Yeah. I've never seen that TikTok.
- 12:18You've never seen High School Musical.
- 12:20I don't know that I've seen it start to finish, but there's
- 12:22also like 7 of. Them do you know?
- 12:25So, fun fact, you know how? Zac Efron, He's like the singer
- 12:29there, you know, He's not actual the singer.
- 12:32Someone else is singing for him that checks out.
- 12:34I believe that. Yeah, I believe that one. 100%,
- 12:36yeah. He does not sing.
- 12:37So like my little sister, she loved High School Musical.
- 12:42And I was like, this man. He could sing.
- 12:44Look at that. And then they had a concert and
- 12:47it was a different man. And I'm like, wait a minute.
- 12:50This this is different. I came here to see Zac Efron.
- 12:53What the fuck? This is not Zac Efron.
- 12:56And then, like, I Googled it and they're like, yeah, but I think
- 12:59it was Vanessa Hudgens really singing.
- 13:01Yes, she was really singing. Everybody in that cast sings
- 13:04except Zac Efron. I was in a musical.
- 13:07I mean, technically, if you can call it that, in middle school,
- 13:10and we did Annie Junior and we had this guy play Daddy
- 13:15Warbucks. It was like the only kid that we
- 13:18felt like was a dude that could learn his lines and he couldn't
- 13:21sing for shit. And so they were like, just
- 13:25speak all your part. They literally.
- 13:29And so it was OK until we had this stuff where we both like a
- 13:34duet where he and I are both singing.
- 13:35So then I'd sing my part, and then he'd be like and
- 13:39everywhere. You're like, this is very This
- 13:45is the only Daddy Warbucks we could get.
- 13:48He must be the only big bald guy.
- 13:50Yeah, it being a 7th grade bald guy is hard enough.
- 13:53Now they're going to make you be daddy warm.
- 13:56So mean. Oh man.
- 13:59Did you had to? Were you Annie?
- 14:01I was. Annie did.
- 14:01You wear the red hair? I OK, it's way worse than that
- 14:04actually. In our head it was going to be
- 14:08so much better if we just spray painted my hair with hair
- 14:14changing color, whatever. But we got like a neon and so I
- 14:18was like neon orange on top of my black curls.
- 14:22And when I go out on stage, when the lights would go out to
- 14:25change scenery, it glowed in the dark and so I'd go out to like,
- 14:30get the props and carry him back in and be.
- 14:32Like, who's this? Who's one little thing?
- 14:35Watch It's like look like a caution cone just running back
- 14:38and forth on the stage. Directing traffic if I could go
- 14:41back, If I could go back, I would wear a wig, I think.
- 14:45Yeah, for sure. No, man, we used like three or
- 14:48four games. That spray paint too.
- 14:52I mean, you had did you had like jet black hair?
- 14:54Yeah, I had pretty naturally dark and like a dark brown and
- 14:59we just sprayed straight on top of it like it was going to be
- 15:01amazing. It was not amazing.
- 15:03It's like it's going to cover. Did you play any instruments
- 15:09when you were little or anything?
- 15:10Did you grow up? I'm.
- 15:12I always say I'm not. I'm not really very good at any
- 15:15instruments, but I had to take a lot of different classes in high
- 15:20school to be a music teacher. I went to Wichita State and you
- 15:25almost get kind of a You're certified to teach K through 12.
- 15:30You could teach band if you want, or orchestra or choral
- 15:34like saying. You learned all like the little
- 15:36notes scenario so I had to so they make, but they make you
- 15:38just take. It's a methods class.
- 15:40So like I had to take for one semester, you have to take some
- 15:43brass instrument and then one strings instrument.
- 15:46So I played. I had to play the.
- 15:49How do you remember all this? Well, it haunts my dreams
- 15:53mostly. Truly, there was a running joke
- 15:56when I had to take the semester when I played trumpet.
- 15:59You do record your playing test and send it to your professor,
- 16:03and it seemed like it was a joke, like it was a satire, was
- 16:06like I was trying to play like a Claire de La Luna.
- 16:08I was like and I just sent it anyway.
- 16:13I hope this gives me an A I practice for 2 1/2 hours.
- 16:17This is what you're getting today.
- 16:19You got it. Send it before 11:59 PM.
- 16:22Exactly. Exactly.
- 16:24And so but yeah, I had to play a little strings, a little of
- 16:27everything and then you have to pass a piano test.
- 16:29So I'm like kind of a what's that saying Master of none.
- 16:34Kind of a tried it all but master of none.
- 16:37So and then I play a little ukulele but instruments and true
- 16:42instrumentalist that, I mean I have so much respect for that
- 16:45because it's just not one of my talents.
- 16:48It's truly not. So it's called Jack of all
- 16:51Trades, Jack of all. Trades the masters of none.
- 16:55There you. Go.
- 16:57There you go. Oh man.
- 16:58When I was, I think I was in fifth grade.
- 17:01I think it was fifth grade or 6th grade.
- 17:03The only instrument is they call it a string.
- 17:07Let's say that string because I was an orchestra, I played the
- 17:10Viola. OK.
- 17:12Let me tell you the the reason why I play the Viola.
- 17:15So it looked good on my resume, Yeah, yeah.
- 17:17And and can you can you read Alto Clef?
- 17:20Bitch No. I was the beginner when I said
- 17:29beginner. Well, we have like, you know our
- 17:31concert. I'm way in the back like my mom.
- 17:34Be like, I'll come watch you and I'm like, you're not going to
- 17:36see me. You're you're going to hear
- 17:40everybody but except me. You're just going to have to
- 17:43imagine. It you know how like I'm there,
- 17:45you know how like you share the the stand with the with your
- 17:49sheets, right? I have my own stand because
- 17:52nobody wants to share. I did.
- 17:54I did marching band in high school for a little while.
- 17:58It will humble you to step in a hole and fall down with a
- 18:01clarinet, like in a weird hat that you never wanted to put on.
- 18:07That has humbled me. I I fell down on football field
- 18:11in the middle of the halftime show for sure.
- 18:14And all and all that gown and like, that's hot, you know?
- 18:20You know, back in the day I remember like in band people
- 18:24wear the hats and then like all that stuff, you know, you hot in
- 18:27that. But now they don't even wear
- 18:29those. They're.
- 18:30I don't, do they? I don't know.
- 18:31I haven't even seen. I don't think they they just
- 18:35wear the the costumes, but they don't wear the hat anymore
- 18:38because I'm my brother, plays for high school and sometimes
- 18:43they go there and play for the soccer teams and they don't
- 18:47wear. I just wear tshirts.
- 18:49Oh, that's it. Like, damn, they're so lenient
- 18:52now. I know I almost had a heat
- 18:54stroke several times during band camp.
- 18:57I can actually say like this one time at band camp.
- 19:02Nothing good ever follows it. Oh man, I went to an orchestra
- 19:07camp too as well. You know, it was a joke because,
- 19:10like, I don't know shit. I just went for the experience.
- 19:14It's the dying. So I had to play violin and I
- 19:17called it the Dying Cat Parade cuz it was just.
- 19:20It was so hard cuz like you're you're literally on your like
- 19:23you know, half of your chin and then you're like trying so hard
- 19:27and you have to look in the corner eye of your, you know,
- 19:29note sheets and everything like that and then your director and
- 19:33then your instrument. Yeah, hey, but I give them props
- 19:36no matter what they I give him props because like my brother,
- 19:39he plays the cello. And I'm just.
- 19:42And he's like the golden child. I'm gonna tell you, he's the
- 19:44golden child of the whole family.
- 19:47And I'm just watching this little skinny ass kid carrying
- 19:50this damn cello everywhere he goes.
- 19:52And I'm just like, but the cello is beautiful.
- 19:55Oh, it's beautiful. It's such it's one of my
- 19:57favorite. It's so bass.
- 19:59I love it, yes. It's like the backbone of every
- 20:03song. Yes, makes.
- 20:04Everything like romantic sounding.
- 20:06That's true. That's true.
- 20:08I'm gonna tell my man be like, hey, can you play me a cello
- 20:10real quick? Just play me a cello solo for a
- 20:14date night. My brother, he I'm gonna tell my
- 20:16brother that cuz he has a girlfriend.
- 20:17I'm like, you should just play. Oh, she plays the cello too, so
- 20:20they're perfect for each other. Cello buddies.
- 20:23Cello buddies. Yeah.
- 20:25Anyways, we're so off top of that.
- 20:27How they met. They're like, hey, do you want
- 20:28to share the stand together there you?
- 20:31Go so Jay so let me think cuz I've been to so many concerts
- 20:36and I just, I don't know how many.
- 20:39There's so there's too many. There's like a freshman there's
- 20:42like a Symphony and then some other one I can't remember it
- 20:46was called like the there's like three.
- 20:50He plays for both. He don't pay the freshman one.
- 20:52He pays for a Symphony. And I don't know what the other
- 20:55one is like a mixed ensemble. Ensemble, yes, there you go, a
- 20:59Symphony and ensemble. So like they have to try out and
- 21:03do all that stuff so they both play play on the both of the
- 21:06groups and then they got they got all ones that ones that's
- 21:11the best. So yeah, they got all ones
- 21:14against all the schools here in Kansas and they got to go in the
- 21:17state. They got to go to state and they
- 21:19won state. So yeah, it's crazy cuz I was
- 21:22like, man, you guys are pretty good.
- 21:23Where does he go? Southeast High SE, Yeah.
- 21:27So that's where he goes, yeah. The Wichita School District has
- 21:31some really good band and orchestra and coral stuff that
- 21:35I've seen, yeah. Mmhmm.
- 21:37They do. Getting better and better.
- 21:38Cuz when I was in high school singing, I didn't know what I
- 21:41was doing at all. I'm like, they really look like
- 21:42they know what they're doing. So when you were little, did you
- 21:46also join choir and all that stuff too?
- 21:48Not the girl. Don't worry.
- 21:49Yeah, it's OK. I think we all are lit right
- 21:52now. I haven't had dinner yet.
- 21:55Guys, I'm so sorry. I checked two shots before the I
- 22:00texted my boyfriend. I was like, we finished the
- 22:02bottle, Baby. He's like, didn't you just
- 22:04started like in 15 minutes ago? I was like, yeah.
- 22:10But yes, did you start the choir and all that?
- 22:13So I had, and I I told her so many times.
- 22:16She's embarrassed by now, but I had the best elementary music
- 22:19teacher ever. She have.
- 22:21Always. She's still teaching at the same
- 22:24school. OK, elementary.
- 22:27OK, elementary and. What's her name?
- 22:29Nina Kent Nina Wilson is her married name.
- 22:32But I she was Nina Kent when I had her and she was like, she's
- 22:38she's the other reason, like my mom and Miss Kent.
- 22:41That's why I loved music so much grown up.
- 22:44So. So she's she's your influence.
- 22:46Yeah. And she just had this.
- 22:48Even now when I've I've gone to watch her teach and I'm she's
- 22:51just like a magical fairy Princess.
- 22:53And so I was in a lot of she has an honor choir and she kind of
- 22:57got me interested in doing some other sorts of choirs.
- 23:00Outside of that, I was in one where I had to wear bow ties and
- 23:04cumberbunds. It was very attractive.
- 23:07You know what a cumberbund is that because nobody wears them
- 23:10anymore, they're not a thing. It's like a belt for your belt,
- 23:14except worse because it was bright red and then we wrote
- 23:19wore like bright red bow ties and white button down shirts and
- 23:24slacks and we were like little kids all Well, it was actually a
- 23:27mix. It was adults and kids.
- 23:30Oh like that. So no.
- 23:32Like the one that's kind of Purpley on the 2nd row.
- 23:36That one. That the Purpley thing on his
- 23:38waist? That's a cumberbine.
- 23:40You wore that as a kid and I just pictures, could you
- 23:44breathe? Describe what this looks like to
- 23:54our guests so that they hear this.
- 23:47Bow tie was worse. The bow tie was worse.
- 23:50And so we sing a lot of coral. So it's a I mean, I set a belt
- 23:57for your belt. What else would you say it's a?
- 24:01It's like a high waisted belt. It's like a.
- 24:03It's a matching the bow tie, belt, satin, maybe satin or silk
- 24:10wrapped around the waist. The main idea was for us to all
- 24:14look the same, and it was a women's and men and children's
- 24:19choir, so we're all supposed to look uniform.
- 24:22Oh, that one. Made a cute look at that one on
- 24:24the bottom. But they don't know fashion back
- 24:26then, so you know, I don't care. They don't.
- 24:29I was looking at this problem over.
- 24:31Where? There.
- 24:32A red bow with the red? Right there.
- 24:34Yes. Yes.
- 24:36Was it that one? That's actually me.
- 24:44Yep, that was me Inquire holding the breadstick.
- 24:48I. Was gonna say all these guys
- 24:49that have been wearing. These Do you want cheese on your
- 24:52Alfredo man? Why is he holding it like a
- 24:54cigarette? I don't get it.
- 24:55He's holding a breadstick like a cigarette, but here's George
- 25:00Clooney in one. So how bad can they really be?
- 25:02George Clooney looks pretty. No, he's not wearing.
- 25:06He's not. He's not.
- 25:07No one wears them, girl. No one wears them.
- 25:10So it's not good. But the experience was good, and
- 25:13I was in. And then that set me up to do it
- 25:15all in middle school, high school, college.
- 25:19In college, we got to go to Carnegie Hall and sing in
- 25:22Carnegie Hall in New York City. You went to New York?
- 25:25Yeah, that girl. Look at that.
- 25:27Really awesome. You have experienced a lot.
- 25:32Yeah. I don't know.
- 25:33New York City in a Cumberbund. I don't know.
- 25:38That's a lot. Hey at least you made it to New
- 25:42York City cuz like you know how those are the thing right here
- 25:46Either you too dumb. Are too ugly.
- 25:49You're not in. What's it called?
- 25:52I don't know, but I'm oh for two right now.
- 25:53So California is too ugly. California is like people who
- 25:57are really pretty over there. And New York is where everybody
- 26:00who's smart's over there, because Wall Street's over
- 26:03there, you know? And then LA is basically
- 26:06Californians basically like where all the models are at and
- 26:09everything like that. But hey, you made it, girl.
- 26:11You made it. So must be smart.
- 26:13Yes, you, you smart. We'll see after I finished the
- 26:17Moscow Mule like she is not smart, you guys.
- 26:21I gave her like a jumbo drink. I'm sipping it while I was while
- 26:25my boyfriend was cleaning this cups, he was like, babe, do you
- 26:28think this kind of safe? And I was like, yeah, it'd be
- 26:30OK. I took a huge mint.
- 26:34Why wouldn't it be safe? Nice.
- 26:35That's pretty big. It's OK.
- 26:41I'm not. I'm not really picked.
- 26:43Like you had asked me like what? What kind of drink do you like?
- 26:46Or whatever. I was like, I don't have any
- 26:49really picky things. I don't care at all.
- 26:52I This is the best Moscow Mule I've ever had.
- 26:54I'm not lying. Shut up.
- 26:55I'm not lying. Shut up.
- 26:56I swear. I swear.
- 26:58Because I'm not a huge ginger beer person.
- 27:01Yeah. And it's not overwhelming.
- 27:03Yeah, with that. And then the there's more mint.
- 27:06So I think I like. I think more the mint, the
- 27:08better It makes it, like, more refreshing.
- 27:11Yeah, I like less ginger beer, a lot more alcohol apparently, and
- 27:16lots of mint to trust alcohol, so they.
- 27:20Call a double. You want a double or a single,
- 27:23ma'am? Anyways, OK, we're getting off
- 27:27track, guys. Just let you know Fanny will be
- 27:30like you guys. We gotta bring it back.
- 27:32And I'm like Fanny, I love you so.
- 27:33Fanny's really good as kind of bringing it back.
- 27:36Oh no. We're we're just like we're just
- 27:38like we're like squirrel it's OK I'm here it's fine.
- 27:43We're I'm the best. One since you mentioned
- 27:46squirrel. Oh my God, my dog has gotten
- 27:51sprayed by skunk. Twice in less than seven days.
- 27:55What? Last night being the second
- 27:58time. Oh, hell no.
- 27:59And I. Was like, are you kidding me?
- 28:01I've never had that happen because I haven't had a dog.
- 28:03So don't you have to give him a tomato bath?
- 28:07Girl, I don't know. That's an old myth, apparently.
- 28:10OK, apparently. So you didn't try it and it
- 28:12didn't work? No.
- 28:13I would try it. I would try it too.
- 28:15I read somewhere cuz I remember that too from Rugrats.
- 28:20If you're gonna learn your life lessons, learn them from
- 28:23Rugrats. Literally.
- 28:26Everybody remembers the orange video, cassette tape, the VHS.
- 28:32Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, yeah.
- 28:33The nickel, yeah. Was that Rugrats?
- 28:36Yeah, I thought it was anything. Nickelodeon came out orange.
- 28:39I don't know, I I only had the Rugrats one if it was, if that's
- 28:43the case, But I know what you're talking about.
- 28:46OK, so your your dog got sprayed twice by a skunk.
- 28:50What'd you do? And I bet it's the same one too.
- 28:53Yeah, skunk has come back. Or they multiply.
- 28:57It might be their baby. I.
- 28:58Was real mad. No, I I gotta look at him last
- 29:01night. Is your backyard like a forest
- 29:03in the back? No, but we.
- 29:05Or the the house is close to the Pawnee Prairie Park over there.
- 29:10So like, you know there's animals that live over there and
- 29:14kind of make their way in the neighborhood.
- 29:16I. Guess yeah, because there's
- 29:17like, we get rabbits all the time in the backyard and the
- 29:22occasional possum. But this skunk and my dog is
- 29:28very aggressive. She's a Shih Tzu Terrier.
- 29:30Terrier stands for terrorists. So cute though.
- 29:33So cute though, if I know. I mean, I don't know a lot about
- 29:37breeds, but I know that those two breeds are both super cute.
- 29:40Yeah, she's alright. She's stinky, but a lot.
- 29:44Of that's your everything, bro. You know that's your everything.
- 29:48Terrier stands for terrorists, and that's what she is.
- 29:51Otherwise, that's your everything.
- 29:52So what's her name? Misha Misha.
- 29:56And so you know she, when she sees rabbits, step back and she
- 29:59she runs after them. You know, like when she catches
- 30:02the ice. So.
- 30:04Oh, she charged at it. Yeah, the skunk.
- 30:06She Oh my God, charged at it. She's protecting you guys.
- 30:09That's what she's doing. Yeah, she's a guard dog.
- 30:12Yeah, sprayed in the face. Oh, and does it like I did?
- 30:17They kind of whimper and whim. She's like.
- 30:19Yeah, she got. She got irritated.
- 30:21She started, like, going crazy. And then ohh poor girl rubbing.
- 30:24Her face in the grass? No.
- 30:25And then just the smell, The overwhelming smell.
- 30:29Just the whole backyard. So what did you what did you end
- 30:32up doing? So the first time I you know.
- 30:36Gave her a bath immediately with her regular shampoo and then the
- 30:40next day I went and got some like there's a solution you can
- 30:43make with like dish soap, hydrogen peroxide and baking
- 30:46soda. OK dog Dad, look at you.
- 30:59Just put some Dawn dish soap on me.
- 30:49Baking soda will fix anything. Anything.
- 30:52And and apple cider vinegar. Yeah, like somebody shot me in
- 30:56the arm. I'd be like just pour some apple
- 30:58cider vinegar on it. See what?
- 31:01I'll be fine Baking soda. So that that worked for the most
- 31:05part, but you can't. Get it in their eyes And like,
- 31:08she's not closing her eyes, 'cause she's all paranoid,
- 31:11'cause she doesn't like bads already, and so I couldn't
- 31:14really get her face. How big is this dog?
- 31:16Then her face, Kind of. Like a medium dog, OK?
- 31:19Yeah, yeah. Like 10, like £10 OK.
- 31:23Yeah, that's a small dog. I usually, yeah.
- 31:25Yeah, yeah. She thinks she's big, big and
- 31:29bad again. Big and bad.
- 31:32Yeah, so you know. So for the last like four or
- 31:35five days, just her face has been a little smelly, but the
- 31:38rest of her's been all right. And then last night I let her
- 31:40out like I'd been looking first like.
- 31:43Yeah. Before you go, take her out.
- 31:44Yeah. That was out there, right?
- 31:45But last night I was like busy doing something.
- 31:47I was like all you need to go out like.
- 31:49The skunk came back. The skunk was back.
- 31:51Then, God damn it, Parch. Right at it again.
- 31:54And I was like, I was like, I was like, are you attacking
- 31:57something? And I was like, oh shit.
- 32:00And then like, yeah, then like, she got sprayed.
- 32:02Then like, I see. And then I see the skunk kind of
- 32:05trot away, and I was. Like he's like, bitch, I told
- 32:07you so. I was like, again, you want a
- 32:09third time. Come and see.
- 32:11Move. At me again I was.
- 32:12Like, you're fucking kidding me. Like, I just shut the door,
- 32:16drove over to Walmart. They have some like skunk
- 32:18shampoo. Cuz I was like at least maybe
- 32:20with that, like maybe I can get her face some.
- 32:22Yeah, yeah. Got back her beard.
- 32:26My dog's beard was all oily. Sounds like Dang, you got direct
- 32:31hit in the face. Speaking of dog, I have two.
- 32:36I thought you were gonna say something.
- 32:37OK, you know me. I gotta say something.
- 32:43So I have two dogs too, as well. And I have.
- 32:46I have a German shepherd. I have a miniature poodle as
- 32:48well. OK.
- 32:49And my, my German shepherd, she's really good.
- 32:54She's really smart. She's she's a guard dog.
- 32:57She barks, that fucking everything at the door, but
- 32:59she's the sweetest little. She's the sweetest girl in the
- 33:02whole wide world. She just barks because she's
- 33:04like, you're you're intruding me.
- 33:06That's a guard dog. Yeah, she's a guard dog, great
- 33:08dog, everything. She's like, like, we can leave
- 33:12the door unlocked because I know for sure she'll fuck that person
- 33:15up. She has, she has.
- 33:18And then then here's my son. My boyfriend's like, that's your
- 33:24son. And I'm like, OK, he is he he's
- 33:29the mama's boy. Mama's boy, you guys are making
- 33:32me want a dog so bad, to be honest.
- 33:34Like if you I'm not supposed to have them where I live, so I'm
- 33:38going to move. Oh, where I live, we just told
- 33:41we have one, but it's OK. One plus, my son.
- 33:46Yes. So my miniature poodle, his name
- 33:49is Bruno and. My stepdaughter, she loves
- 33:54Encanto. So she Yeah, Bruno.
- 33:57And so he's he's he's nine months years old and he's just
- 34:01trying. He's just figuring out what's
- 34:03going on in the world and everything like that.
- 34:06But he he's a klutz. He really is.
- 34:10This is him right here. Oh my gosh.
- 34:13She's so cute, right? Yeah, he Oh, man.
- 34:16So that's Bruno. That's Bruno.
- 34:18Yes. Every morning he uses he just.
- 34:22When I wake up, he's like, I hear him, He's like, I'm like,
- 34:26Oh, my son is here's my baby. Yes, he's looking at me every
- 34:29morning. Oh my God.
- 34:31Every morning he comes to the bathroom with mom and sits
- 34:33there. Oh my God.
- 34:35Yes, but man, he's a klutz. I'm gonna tell you this girl,
- 34:39miniature poodles are the smartest dogs.
- 34:43But I don't know about this one because this one is kind of, but
- 34:46I don't know about this one. I think he got his mother's
- 34:50brain. He He tried.
- 34:54Only nine months old. Maybe.
- 34:55Maybe he'll get smarter. He's still a pup.
- 34:58That's why he's still a pup. But let me show you this video
- 35:01of him. Watch.
- 35:02Just just this is him. If you guys know I'm.
- 35:07I'm showing my dog, too. Molly watch.
- 35:14Ohh, I was like what is that noise?
- 35:16I didn't know you were doing a video.
- 35:17Yeah, and look at him. The Zoomies almost had that one.
- 35:29Almost. Had that one every morning,
- 35:32girl, he tries to jump up on the concrete, but he always miss it
- 35:37and he just gets up and try it again.
- 35:40And he's like, So what are we doing today?
- 35:43So what's up? What did I?
- 35:45Miss, are we going inside? Oh, guys, we're getting off
- 35:50topic. Let's go.
- 35:51Fanny will be like you guys, shut up.
- 35:53I wish. She's listening to this right
- 35:55now. She'll be like, guys, what's
- 35:57going on here? We miss you, Fanny.
- 36:00I do. I We really.
- 36:01We're doing it our way. Our way, Not your way.
- 36:04You do. Sorry.
- 36:06This is what happens when we prank Dusty and Emily together.
- 36:10Let me tell you something. The last time me and Dusty were
- 36:13hosting. We got very drunk.
- 36:17What's that like? Which episode was?
- 36:21You were the trap house. That was the last time me and
- 36:24you did it alone. Yeah, you guys were at a.
- 36:26Trap house. So my friends, they have a group
- 36:31for like cars and bikes and everything like that.
- 36:33And they have a bike group called Trap House Okay.
- 36:38So yeah, So not an actual trap house.
- 36:40No, ma'am. It would have been a field trip.
- 36:43A field trip, yeah. But anyway, let's talk more
- 36:46about you. So you played so in college you
- 36:50had to play the all strings, right?
- 36:51And then you had to play the trumpet.
- 36:53Yeah, violin trumpet. Had to do some percussion.
- 36:56Piano. You have to pass a test.
- 36:58How was that? I was awful.
- 37:00Like your fingers like have to be like awful.
- 37:04I always tell people it does not matter if you wanna be a
- 37:09musician when you grow up. I think it's such a good idea to
- 37:12play piano as a kid because it's so good for you.
- 37:16It's good for your motor skills, it's good for your sight reading
- 37:20skills and it would have cost me or would have helped me not shed
- 37:25so many tears. In college I cried over my piano
- 37:31proficiency test and I finally passed and I'm pretty convinced
- 37:36it's just because I cried so much.
- 37:37They're like this bitch needs to go pass her.
- 37:42Just tell her just to sit. You pass, you pass.
- 37:45But yes, primarily. So that makes me, I'm.
- 37:47I'm just. I'm primarily vocal.
- 37:49I will give it a try, but I will not be good at any instruments.
- 37:54Yeah. So what we're going to do right
- 37:58now, we're going to take a break, OK?
- 38:00But you know, we're going to talk more about you and
- 38:02everything like that. Even though we got off topic, it
- 38:04was a great conversation. I loved it.
- 38:06I love it. I hope you don't feel nervous
- 38:08anymore. I don't.
- 38:09Good. Good.
- 38:10See, I told you. I know.
- 38:11You're so easy to talk with and it's really fun, yes.
- 38:15OK, guys, we'll be right back. Put it down down on me, I'll.
- 39:02Be straight, I promise. If you fuck.
- 39:04Me, right? Fuck me, right?
- 39:06And that's honest? Maybe.
- 39:07But it. Damn, damn, don't be.
- 39:09Damn don't. Be yo-yo, yo.
- 39:11Welcome back to segment #2 up here.
- 39:14See you in the podcast. We're back with our special
- 39:17guest, Molly Neely today. Yes.
- 39:21Molly, how's that drink? Cheating.
- 39:22Yeah, so good. It got some fresh ice and it's
- 39:26tasting delicious. Emily, what'd you make us today?
- 39:29Guys, what's today? I made a just simple drink.
- 39:32You know cuz my girl loves Tito's and what you can't with
- 39:36Tito's gotta mix with a Moscow meal.
- 39:39So today I'm in a Moscow meal for Molly today.
- 39:43Um, so basically, as you guys know, we use Tito's and then you
- 39:46add some lime juice and ginger beer.
- 39:49Very good. Just a really good, refreshing
- 39:51drink for the summer. You know, just a little bubbly,
- 39:54you know, to have your alcohol and in it, you know, some lime
- 39:58make you feel like you're just feeling a good breeze when
- 40:01you're in the summer. Exactly, exactly.
- 40:06So Molly, how was your drink, girl?
- 40:07So good. I I told you this earlier, but
- 40:11I'm going to say it again because I'm not lying.
- 40:14I This is the best Moscow Mule I've ever had.
- 40:17Yeah, I told you. Not just Cuz there's two shots
- 40:19in it. Two shots.
- 40:24So in the ingredients they say only one shot.
- 40:27But is like, you know since I went to went to what, amateur
- 40:31school, right? That's is that where I went.
- 40:33To amateur university. Amateur university off
- 40:35Craigslist, right online. Yep.
- 40:38I'm Valevatorian here, girl. I'm still attending and I'm not
- 40:42even graduated yet, so you're above me.
- 40:45But yes, I made you a Moscow Mule.
- 40:48I knew you loved Tito's and I was like, this is the best drink
- 40:51I have to make. Like some mint, some lime, lime
- 40:55and the mint extra. I think for me.
- 40:57Extra lime, Extra mint. Yeah, exactly.
- 41:00So we're we're talking about all these things that earlier, you
- 41:04know, it was amazing, good to know you and everything like
- 41:07that. Let's talk about how we live in
- 41:09the moment right now. Like how now you, you know you
- 41:13were a teacher for 10 years in music.
- 41:18You let you. I love music.
- 41:21You're a singer. Your mother.
- 41:24What influenced you? But you also mention me that
- 41:27someone else influenced you as well.
- 41:29Your teacher, right? What was her name again?
- 41:32Nina Kent. Yes, Nina King.
- 41:34Shout out to you. Without you, Molly Neely would
- 41:40not be the house she is right now.
- 41:43So basically. So living in the moment so often
- 41:45phrase us way to find joy and fulfillment.
- 41:48How do you personally practice living in the present and how
- 41:51does that influence your creative life in music?
- 41:55Basically, I am. It's, it's weird.
- 41:59I have a very creative side, but I also have a lot of type A
- 42:05tendencies. So with the living in the
- 42:08moment, it takes work for me. Like I have to make myself stop.
- 42:15I have a couple of things I do actually don't have it on
- 42:18anymore, but at the beginning of the would have been a year ago,
- 42:22like the beginning of the school year last year.
- 42:25I had an alarm on my phone that would go off twice a day and it
- 42:30said list three things you're grateful for and I've told I'd
- 42:35like. I didn't create this, I just
- 42:37read it somewhere and did it. But I've told my friends about
- 42:40this. When you start looking for
- 42:43things to be grateful for, if you tell yourself why I can't
- 42:46repeat anything, yeah, then you really do start looking for good
- 42:51things because you're like, okay.
- 42:52Well, I know I've got a that damn alert on my phone that's
- 42:55going to go off and it's going to tell me I need a list of
- 42:59things. I need three different things
- 43:01and I can't say. The same thing over the same
- 43:03thing I said this morning. You know, I can say, oh, my
- 43:05coffee was really good this morning.
- 43:07And I didn't hit any red lights. And yeah, the obvious things
- 43:10like I have a roof over my head and I have, I have food to eat,
- 43:13I have loved ones. Like those things you should be
- 43:16grateful for. Yeah, absolutely.
- 43:18But if you're telling yourself, OK now look for new things.
- 43:22Yeah, after it. It takes some work.
- 43:24It does. Because you know, you repeated
- 43:26something three things already and you're like, OK at the
- 43:28tomorrow, you're like, OK, I have an alarm set up.
- 43:30I have to think what other? Things keep me positive and all
- 43:35and I've been a little bit satirical with it before.
- 43:37I've been like, oh, I'm so thankful that person cut me off
- 43:41in traffic and I'm like, OK, never motherfucker like wait,
- 43:45wait, wait, that doesn't count. I'll.
- 43:47Bring it back. I'm gonna bring it back.
- 43:48You are not a motherfucker, but you are a fucker.
- 43:51Fucking cutting me off. Well, saying I'm gonna be like,
- 43:54OK, Juan, very thankful that I didn't have a car accident or
- 43:57I'm very thankful that it can be little things and so it can be
- 44:01the tiny, the funniest thing. Like I said, like my morning
- 44:04coffee one day I was like, well, this is a dumb one, but.
- 44:06It I should have put a lot extra Creamer in this bitch but this
- 44:10is actually kind of nasty but at least I haven't so but that I I
- 44:15am one of those people where I have to work at it I don't.
- 44:19I know I have so many like I have amazing friends that
- 44:22they're just they're chilled out.
- 44:24That's why I like to hang out with them, because I'm not.
- 44:28But it doesn't come easy to me. So doing things in the moment,
- 44:34appreciating them for what they are and taking the time to
- 44:39address, like, hey, I'm grateful for this, I'm grateful for that.
- 44:42That's kind of how I do it. That's good.
- 44:45You know, not a lot of people think like that because like,
- 44:47you know, people get up like, OK, I have a routine, I know
- 44:50what I'm going to do and everything like that.
- 44:52But that's good that you actually have you.
- 44:54You noticed three things. What you think, what you're
- 44:56grateful for? And I had to set an alarm
- 44:58because I'm. I am one of.
- 44:59I'm not. I'm not a perfectly happy
- 45:02person. So I have to do it.
- 45:04Everybody coops at different kind of type of ways.
- 45:08Like me in the morning, I always have to meditate in the morning,
- 45:13even if it's 5 minutes, 15 minutes or even like it's like 2
- 45:16seconds. I have to recoup myself.
- 45:20I do have a routine. I do have like, like, you know,
- 45:22a eight to four job and everything like that.
- 45:24But you know, meditating to myself is like, really?
- 45:30Keeps me insane because I know myself.
- 45:34Like I told you before, the only person got you is you.
- 45:37Yeah, and that's always going to be that way.
- 45:39Even though you have a partner or you have family, family got
- 45:44to you. But the only person really got
- 45:46to you and know yourself is yourself.
- 45:48Right. And and like I said, you, you
- 45:50try to run that yourself is really the only thing you can
- 45:53never run away from. So you can run away from anybody
- 45:55else. But if you turn around, you're
- 45:57going to be there no matter what exactly, and you've got to make
- 46:00peace with yourself. So what's great about us is that
- 46:04we, so Fanny and I go to therapy and we're really big in that.
- 46:10We're really big in self love and we're really big on health,
- 46:14basically mental health because like.
- 46:16We all go through it. Everyone goes through it.
- 46:18Even people, people who said they don't have to go through
- 46:21it, they do. And I know people that if you're
- 46:24never having you think. You're not crazy.
- 46:26You're fucking crazy, yeah? If you don't think you're the
- 46:29problem, you're the problem. Yeah, I know.
- 46:31That's why when I I watch a comedian, his name is.
- 46:36Coy joy. He's like, oh, I've seen him,
- 46:39yes, if he, he said. If you think you're not crazy,
- 46:42you are fucking crazy. And that's kind of true, you
- 46:44know what I mean? Like, everybody's crazy.
- 46:46Everybody where I know a lot of people that that, even if they
- 46:49weren't like, I've always had a lot of anxiety.
- 46:51I'm a heavy anxiety person and my friends that don't have
- 46:55anxiety, they don't. They how.
- 46:57Do you live? They're like, how do you get,
- 46:59how do you? I'm like, what's it like to not
- 47:01worry about anything? Like it's pretty cool.
- 47:03I like it a lot. But tell me your ways.
- 47:07Tell me your ways. But over 2020 and COVID and all
- 47:14that, I had a lot of people that I knew that were like, I've
- 47:17never really had anxiety before and now I'm experiencing it and
- 47:21I. Don't know by themselves and I
- 47:23don't know how to cope because I've never had it before.
- 47:26Here we are, the people who who does have anxiety.
- 47:29My time to shine. I'm like, hey, we know what to
- 47:32do. Let me tell you.
- 47:35I do this and then this and then this and this and you still feel
- 47:38like shit, but it's better. You know when people are like, I
- 47:41hate being alone and we're like, we love it, Yeah, I need a
- 47:44certain amount of loan time a day.
- 47:47Don't talk. To me, between when people talk
- 47:49about how they're like, my God, COVID was so hard and I'm here
- 47:53like. I kind of like being by myself.
- 47:57It was actually nice. Like, you know, like you you
- 48:00figure out who you are, what you like to do, and you're like, oh,
- 48:03I'm going to do this and I'm going to do that and I'm going
- 48:05to do this. And you're like, this is
- 48:07perfect. But everybody's like, I need, I
- 48:09need attention. I need all this.
- 48:11And you're like, but it's hard not to, because I'll even find
- 48:15that I like to be by myself and I'll be by myself for a long
- 48:19time. And then if I like, get on
- 48:21social media or I see something that I'm like, oh, nobody else
- 48:24likes to be alone, like I better get out and start doing some
- 48:27stuff because. You're like, am I?
- 48:29Am I the only Am I the problem? Am I?
- 48:32Am I the problem? But I mean, yes, COVID, they
- 48:38really kind of really helped a lot of people too as well to
- 48:41figure out how like Okay coping by yourself, you know, because
- 48:46when you caught COVID, you had to be like 14 days isolated and
- 48:50everything like that. You know, to be honest, when I
- 48:53caught COVID, because I worked at the healthcare field, I
- 48:57caught COVID for the first time. And you know, that first ten
- 49:01days I was like, oh man, this is wonderful.
- 49:04But those four days I was like, oh shit, I'm a civilization.
- 49:08The last four days you're like, I think I cannot put any more
- 49:12dry shampoo in my hair. Exactly, exactly.
- 49:14And I'm going to have to actually.
- 49:17So you know how you were a teacher for 10 years?
- 49:20Tell me, how did you do deal with that?
- 49:22Does during COVID too, as well as a teacher.
- 49:25So it was. I mean, I don't think anybody
- 49:29would. I give you props, not say it's a
- 49:32shit show. I give you props.
- 49:33You you guys are the most you guys, so much patience in it.
- 49:38I give you guys props. Not a lot of people give
- 49:40teachers props, but hey, I give you props because you guys were
- 49:45like, you know, usually doing in person because a lot of people
- 49:49would like, oh, I cannot learn. Over the screen, you know, and
- 49:52it is hard then the younger they are, the harder it is.
- 49:55Because they're like, oh, a screen.
- 49:57I don't have also, nobody really knew how to do it.
- 50:00So it would be like, OK, well we're going to start this new
- 50:02thing now and we're going to roll it out, but we got to hurry
- 50:05up and train you on it so that you can roll out and do it.
- 50:08And I like I always think there was a time like mid COVID, like
- 50:14during the lockdown when everybody was like pay teachers
- 50:16more money. Oh my gosh, I'm having to do
- 50:18this with my kids and I'm seeing how much how hard it is and what
- 50:22and it did not last long. It was like as soon as we are up
- 50:26and running on the Internet and teaching remote people were like
- 50:30why don't you have this figured out yet.
- 50:32I'm like well, cause nobody does this has never happened before.
- 50:36So I like some of the people that I know that are teachers
- 50:40are the hardest workers I've ever met and it goes beyond like
- 50:47what they're doing for their. Job Green.
- 50:49Yeah, You trying to pay? And it's the kids.
- 50:52You think, OK, you get on a Zoom meeting with somebody and, you
- 50:55know, oh, they forget to put themselves on me?
- 50:57There's no way a kids gonna sit there.
- 50:58They're five and six and seven years old and they're like log
- 51:03on for the entire day when I was that little.
- 51:07Absolutely not. We were absolutely not.
- 51:10And I was a good kid. I'm like, absolutely not.
- 51:13So it was hard for the kids. It was hard for the teachers and
- 51:17the the main thing too is once we got back into the classroom
- 51:21was the immediate need to hurry and catch up.
- 51:25Like everything that we missed, hurrying, going to back on
- 51:28track, okay. Well, we're like 2 years behind
- 51:31at this point where it's going to be a an ongoing process to
- 51:36kind of get them caught up. And one thing that I noticed I I
- 51:40don't have any kids of my own and I would see the
- 51:44developmental because people were very worried about
- 51:47academic. But developmental, like, Can you
- 51:51imagine being a kid and somebody tells you stay 6 feet away from
- 51:55everybody at all times, and then they go back to school and
- 51:58they're like, OK, and I'll step by this kid, play with the skid,
- 52:00line up with this kid. They didn't know how to get
- 52:02along anymore. They were swinging on each
- 52:04other. They were arguing with each
- 52:06other. They they didn't understand.
- 52:08COVID kind of changed a lot of people.
- 52:11It really did it kind of just like like, how do I say this in
- 52:16the most polite way? Not to be cancelled, but like it
- 52:22just really just. Changed everybody how everyone
- 52:27thinks and it highlighted a lot of issues that were already
- 52:31there. Exactly Like we gone through
- 52:34this so many years and it's coming back again.
- 52:37Like, you know, it's just, it's just heartbreaking coming.
- 52:40Back again? Is it coming back again?
- 52:42Oh, the pandemic. Oh, no, no, no.
- 52:44I was like, what is coming? Oh my gosh.
- 52:46Oh, now you know, cuz you know I worked in the hospital for like
- 52:4910 years. I find out that.
- 52:53Imagine me. During COVID.
- 52:55During that time, girl, I can't. I mean, I don't even know.
- 52:58It was a struggle. It was a struggle I can't even
- 53:00imagine. I'm gonna tell you that it was a
- 53:02struggle, like, oh, man, like it was such a struggle.
- 53:08But I was. I was blessed.
- 53:10I still have a job. It was great, you know, But the
- 53:14same time, like I was getting paid more.
- 53:17Less than other people, you know, doing a lot less work from
- 53:21home. Exactly right.
- 53:23And there's days I'm like, man, I don't want to be a central
- 53:25worker anymore. No, I don't blame you.
- 53:29I don't want to be a central worker anymore, but but yeah,
- 53:33like, it's just, it's just it was hard.
- 53:36It was really hard because like we're out there in the field and
- 53:42we're putting yourself and like no one wants it.
- 53:44That's why people isolate each other.
- 53:45But you know, we're out there. Working to make you feel better,
- 53:49right? And we're going to do whatever
- 53:51we can to make you feel better. So we jeopardize our life,
- 53:54right? For you, right?
- 53:55No matter what, if you tell me, and that's a choice you have to
- 53:58make every single morning when you get up and go to.
- 54:01Exactly and no matter what, to be honest, like still to this
- 54:04day, I will always say my patients always first, no matter
- 54:07what. Like you know, I I'm here to
- 54:09take care of you and I will always take care of you.
- 54:12I'm not here to think of myself, I'm thinking for you no matter
- 54:15what. That's that's my mentality no
- 54:17matter what. But it was hard because even
- 54:22though I worked in the healthcare field, I still have
- 54:25family come home to like my parents, my brother and
- 54:27everything, and I have to isolate myself because I don't
- 54:31want them to get what I'm getting.
- 54:32You know, even though I don't feel anything, they'll probably
- 54:35feel something too, right? So, and it was so different from
- 54:38passing a person. So I have I have to tell them
- 54:40like. Hey, I'm at home like I'm
- 54:43stripping in the garage, putting my clothes in the in the washer
- 54:46already and then they're in and. There I have to Lysol myself.
- 54:51Wipe myself with the Clorox. Wipe everything.
- 54:54Every single little thing I touch.
- 54:56I have to wipe it like every single little thing, like the
- 54:59doorknob, Wipe it my car. I have to spray Lysol everywhere
- 55:03I go, spray the handles, everything.
- 55:05Like I have to do everything because I have to keep my family
- 55:07safe. Luckily they didn't get it while
- 55:12I was still working there, but they got it when they still go
- 55:15out there in the world, right? I mean, right.
- 55:17But it was hard. It was a job like you and I live
- 55:21for first going back. And it was, I mean, several
- 55:24years ago now or a few years ago now.
- 55:26But adults were getting it, but kids really weren't.
- 55:30And so then. They went first time.
- 55:31They were like, oh, kids can't get it, Yeah.
- 55:33And then the kids started getting.
- 55:34Started getting in. They're like, oh, animals can't
- 55:36get it. But the animals got it.
- 55:38Yeah. So it was like every time a new
- 55:40thing came into play where we were like, all right, let's go
- 55:43back to the drawing board. You know, it's crazy.
- 55:45Like you would think about it. Like now those are going to be
- 55:48in the history books for kids now.
- 55:49Like you, I thought about how many pictures are going to be in
- 55:53history books with masks on and people are going to be like,
- 55:56what were they like? That was a reality for almost
- 56:06like 2 years. Wow, they all had to wear masks
- 55:59and what were they doing and what like?
- 56:02But that was just our reality at the time.
- 56:08Still to this day. People still wear masks to this
- 56:10day. But yeah, it was pretty crazy.
- 56:15But anyways, sorry. Off topic, guys.
- 56:17Fans would be like, guys, shut the fuck up.
- 56:19I'm like it's 2023 when we're talking.
- 56:21About COVID, so we talked about. What, though?
- 56:23Like, I enjoyed being at home. That's how the conversation
- 56:29started, though. We started talking about how we
- 56:31like being alone, yeah. That's true I.
- 56:35Was getting a paycheck. Still, I had time to make all
- 56:37the music I wanted to for a lot of people.
- 56:40To learn new skills. Yeah, it was great.
- 56:43Even though you got COVID, you still get paid.
- 56:46Well, I have a friend that said she's a music teacher too,
- 56:49actually. And she said, I feel like
- 56:52there's going to be such a huge renaissance of arts after this,
- 56:56because that's what kind of happens when there's so much
- 57:00chaos is like beautiful art is. Made my one of our good.
- 57:04He was our guest too as well. Remember Chris?
- 57:07He said during COVID he needs so much art and he is an amazing
- 57:12artist. Like, oh, I mean during, you
- 57:15know, all the artists we have in our group came into our, you
- 57:19know, everybody's everybody's, oh, fuck, I can't even think
- 57:23right now. What's that?
- 57:24Word does. So you think of it.
- 57:27I can't even think because I'm so I don't.
- 57:28Know, but I mean, you know, a lot of artists.
- 57:31Music or talented? All our our guest is always
- 57:33talented and everything like I think every single one of our
- 57:35guests is talented. During our tattoos series, we
- 57:43had so many talents that artists came in and they said during
- 57:46COVID they brought out a lot crazy.
- 57:49A lot of, yeah. Yeah, cuz cuz you know, I was
- 57:53gonna say a lot of artists music wise or you know, regular art
- 57:57wise painting. Anybody.
- 57:59Whatever. Like.
- 58:01A lot of us work day jobs to make ends meet and stuff and
- 58:05then a lot of time we don't have time to get to our art that we
- 58:09wanna do. So that time downtime during the
- 58:14pandemic and any time that there is an intense amount of emotion,
- 58:18whatever it is, cuz there was all kinds of things happening
- 58:21during that time. I feel like anytime there is a
- 58:24lot of emotion, that's when the best artist created.
- 58:27Oh yeah, exactly, exactly. I think.
- 58:30I think anybody who tried to do something.
- 58:33I think whatever you do, you can make anything into art.
- 58:37Oh yeah, anything. Well, Art's relative.
- 58:39Exactly, exactly. So Speaking of art, we've seen
- 58:44your page. You have done a lot of
- 58:46performance and collaborations, yes.
- 58:48How do you navigate that? So when I first started
- 58:54performing kind of even in college and stuff, I did like
- 58:58coffee shop shows and and I I've known a lot of really talented
- 59:05musicians. That's the key for me.
- 59:07To be able to keep performing is like performing with other
- 59:12people that really kind of inspire me even all the way
- 59:15going back to college and the people that I went to school
- 59:19with. And I've done shows with so many
- 59:24people that it kind of really inspires you to want it keep
- 59:30making more. And I kind of feel like what
- 59:33Utah has gotten really good about that about the
- 59:36collaboration because way better and it just keeps growing and
- 59:42growing and growing. And so I really, in 2015, I kind
- 59:52of made a decision. I was like, I really kind of
- 59:54want to start performing wherever I can.
- 59:58And so I would just go to open mics in Wichita and get together
- 1:00:02with my friends and jam. And that's kind of what led to
- 1:00:06my music page and performing around town and stuff.
- 1:00:13So you know you did a lot of collaborations, you did all
- 1:00:17these performance and everything like that.
- 1:00:19That's great that Wichita has expanded a lot.
- 1:00:22They're noticing. You know what I love about
- 1:00:25Wichita as well? They love local.
- 1:00:28And that's, yeah, there's an appreciation for appreciation
- 1:00:30for local as well. Yes, I love about that.
- 1:00:35You done a lot of performance at the Brickyard.
- 1:00:38I've seen that you done at the gnomes.
- 1:00:40What's the Hopping Gnome? Hopping Gnome as well?
- 1:00:43Do you have any upcoming performance?
- 1:00:47You're coming up and everything. Yeah, so I am playing with a
- 1:00:51really talented guitarist. His name is William Flynn.
- 1:00:55He plays, I've seen him play a lot of jazz and he's fantastic.
- 1:01:02And so we're kind of combining to do some of my more my style
- 1:01:07like some acoustic and some kind of pop rock and and folksy
- 1:01:12stuff. We have We're going to play at
- 1:01:17Garlicfest in September at Brickyard.
- 1:01:21Now it's September 10th, but I am curious if the drinks are
- 1:01:27garlicky or if the food is garlicky.
- 1:01:30But it's a whole garlic fest, so apparently everything will be
- 1:01:34garlicky, will keep the vampires away and.
- 1:01:40We we like to play at Morts. I like to play at Hopping Gnome
- 1:01:44a lot. Do you play inside in Hopping
- 1:01:48Gnomes? Because I know for sure, because
- 1:01:50it's just like a very small. So it it was, but they they they
- 1:01:54moved. And so they've been so cool to
- 1:01:58me and we played at their first anniversary.
- 1:02:04And so they've always had us back, but they do this amazing
- 1:02:07like block party thing where it's just morning till night.
- 1:02:11They have food trucks come and I've we've played for like 6-7
- 1:02:15years in a row and this last time they actually have moved.
- 1:02:19They're kind of back behind where they used to be.
- 1:02:23They have this really cool patio area and what do you call it?
- 1:02:30Cornhole. Cornhole.
- 1:02:32And so when we played, there it, we were it was an outdoor show.
- 1:02:36Oh cool. So they have kind of enough
- 1:02:38space now to cuz it was it was kind of small, it was like
- 1:02:41quaint and I liked it but like now it's kind of like room to
- 1:02:46spread out and chill and that's cool.
- 1:02:49Yeah. To you.
- 1:02:50Yeah. Go hopping.
- 1:02:51No go hopping? No.
- 1:02:54So you know, you do a lot of acoustics.
- 1:02:56You also make your own music as well, like your own lyrics or
- 1:03:00anything like that. I do, but I have to be honest
- 1:03:02with you. I've never performed them.
- 1:03:04What No I do. I do.
- 1:03:05Because my thing is if I I write it, I have several songs that
- 1:03:11I've written and I have the melody to them and like kind of
- 1:03:16a backing chords to them. But I think OK, if I sing a song
- 1:03:21that's by. The Beatles, We know it's a good
- 1:03:24song. Yeah.
- 1:03:25If I sing a song that I wrote, maybe it's terrible and I won't
- 1:03:32know. At least I know that if this is
- 1:03:34a song that all these people have loved, that I know it's a
- 1:03:38lovable song. So I have a little bit of fear
- 1:03:42of putting my own stuff out there in case it's not as good.
- 1:03:47But there's stuff. There's stuff hiding.
- 1:03:49There's stuff hiding, yeah, yeah.
- 1:03:50It's back there though. OK.
- 1:03:52When in the future, maybe in the future, yes, in the future.
- 1:03:56But you know, give us a little snippet too as well, you know,
- 1:03:59we love to hear it of course. So basically you said September
- 1:04:04what? September 10th at Brickyard
- 1:04:06Brickyard. It'll be during the day 11 to 4.
- 1:04:11Is the the gig? Is that on a weekend or?
- 1:04:14I think it's a Sunday, Sunday. Are those Sundays dusty?
- 1:04:18Saturday or Sunday? I'll look here, let me see.
- 1:04:21I handy me and got it quiet. Hold on, I'm pulling up the
- 1:04:38thing cuz I I actually have. It's a Sunday I've been wanting.
- 1:04:42To go to the Garlic Fest for like, a few.
- 1:04:44Years now. So you so you've heard it, so
- 1:04:46you know, I hear of it. So we were supposed to play
- 1:04:49either last year or the year before and it got rained out.
- 1:04:51So I didn't actually get to go. So I am excited to see kind of
- 1:04:56what it's about. Yeah, cuz yeah, every year,
- 1:05:00like, my God, yeah, I gotta go next year, you know?
- 1:05:02And then like, I feel like, I don't see like that it's coming
- 1:05:06up or whatever. And then like the day it's
- 1:05:08happening or whatever, like, hey, where are you at?
- 1:05:10Oh, we're at the garlic fest. Like, oh Dang it, I wanted to
- 1:05:12go. That I've never heard of the
- 1:05:14Garlic Fest before. I'm down because I can get down
- 1:05:18on some garlic, anything. I love garlic bread, let me tell
- 1:05:21you. And even sometimes if I'm
- 1:05:27outside of a restaurant and I just smell, I'm like, my gosh,
- 1:05:30I'm on just like what's called Golden Corral, No.
- 1:05:21Let me tell you something. I put garlic and fucking
- 1:05:23everything. Olive Garden, Sorry.
- 1:05:40OK. Those are really different.
- 1:05:42Sorry, I'm just so drunk I can't even think around there.
- 1:05:45I don't remember the last time I was.
- 1:05:47Outside of a Golden Corral? Yeah, I don't.
- 1:05:49I went to the West Side and there's a Golden Corral over
- 1:05:52there. I did not know.
- 1:05:54I was like this. Still still standing.
- 1:05:56It's the one that used to be by the palace.
- 1:06:00Yeah, by the palace. The palace.
- 1:06:02Oh man, that was some good price.
- 1:06:04They. Developed the weirdest habit at
- 1:06:06the palace. When that big pink building.
- 1:06:10OK, of course I want my popcorn if I'm going to watch my movie,
- 1:06:13my $2.00 movie. But also, you get a pickle and
- 1:06:16you get Nacho cheese. Oh yeah.
- 1:06:19Dip your pickle in the Nacho cheese.
- 1:06:21I've had so many people make fun of me.
- 1:06:23It's so good. You know, I'm not a pickle
- 1:06:26person, but I've noticed. OK, so OK, I hate warm Pickles.
- 1:06:32Yeah, but I like cold Pickles. It has to be cold.
- 1:06:35OK, I'll dip it in cheese. I'm going to try it.
- 1:06:38Yeah. Try it in Nacho cheese the and
- 1:06:40I've gone to the Warren. They used to be able to go to
- 1:06:43the Warren and get a pickle from the cantina and the Nacho cheese
- 1:06:48from the front, and since they switched over, they don't have
- 1:06:52Pickles anymore and it it it's hurtful.
- 1:06:55That's true, yeah. It was good Nacho cheese, Nacho
- 1:07:04cheese. But anyways, Pickles.
- 1:06:59Everybody try it. Cheese with Pickles.
- 1:07:01She will fucking tell. So what's your next plans in the
- 1:07:07future for your music career? I am really excited about
- 1:07:14playing with William. We're going to be booking in the
- 1:07:17Wichita area in the fall. I'm going to be completely
- 1:07:22honest, I. Kind of wimped out for the
- 1:07:26summer because most summer gigs are outdoors and it's been 100
- 1:07:33billion degrees. You don't want your makeup
- 1:07:34sweating. So no, my no.
- 1:07:36My face will run into my clothing before we even get set
- 1:07:39up for the gig. Exactly.
- 1:07:41So, but I'm now that it's getting a little bit cooler and
- 1:07:45we have the September show, I kind of just see us building
- 1:07:48from there and hopefully booking as many Wichita places as I
- 1:07:52think you perform well if you feel well.
- 1:07:55Yeah, exactly. Yeah, for sure.
- 1:07:59And no, I mean, I I love an outdoor performance, but
- 1:08:03Wichita's weather has just been so brutal.
- 1:08:07I haven't been Kansas. I have not been able to go
- 1:08:13there. Yeah.
- 1:08:15So, Molly, what we're going to do right now, thank you for
- 1:08:19showing us what's first. One more question.
- 1:08:21OK. What's the most important thing
- 1:08:23in your life right now? I know it's very How do you
- 1:08:28prioritize? That could be anything,
- 1:08:32whatever. You want?
- 1:08:34Honestly, the most important thing right now for me is faith.
- 1:08:41It helps me like what we were talking earlier about staying in
- 1:08:44the moment. Yeah, and kind of staying
- 1:08:48centered and kind of remembering what's important a lot of times
- 1:08:52what. I tell myself is not nice, but
- 1:08:57what my faith that I've, you know, really leaned on is peace
- 1:09:07that you don't really even have to understand to accept it and
- 1:09:10have it. It's you get that peace.
- 1:09:13And that's been really carrying me through.
- 1:09:17So as your first, you know, I bet you every performer
- 1:09:20remembers the first performance. How was your first performance?
- 1:09:25I can't tell you that I remember my first cuz I would have been a
- 1:09:28kid. What was your most favorite?
- 1:09:31Performance stands out. I mean I've had a lot that have
- 1:09:34stand would stand out but when you said that and I was trying
- 1:09:37to think down down down to when I was younger I.
- 1:09:42I got to perform at a or. I got to sing a song.
- 1:09:46It was from Wicked, a musical wrapping the background at my
- 1:09:50high school graduation. And it almost didn't work out.
- 1:09:54And I really just felt it was. It was weird.
- 1:09:59I was so young. I was like 17, but I felt like I
- 1:10:04could kind of feel my mom there and.
- 1:10:10I felt like really comfortable and safe, even just being
- 1:10:12little. It's one of my favorite times
- 1:10:15that I've gotten to sing to this day.
- 1:10:19That's good. That's good.
- 1:10:21I understand your mom did pass away too, as well.
- 1:10:24Yeah, less than peace to her as well.
- 1:10:27But yes. So what we do is a lightning
- 1:10:31round, OK? We just ask.
- 1:10:33If you listen to our podcast and do some research with us, we
- 1:10:37basically just tell you all these questions, OK?
- 1:10:40There's like 10 questions. Yeah.
- 1:10:43Um, Dust is gonna start with it. Yeah.
- 1:10:45Right before we get to that. That's funny that you said you
- 1:10:50were thinking about the first performance and you thought back
- 1:10:52to when you're a kid. Like I never considered those as
- 1:10:56like. Performances, performances.
- 1:10:58Yeah 'cause you think about it and you're just like, who would
- 1:11:01have thought? But now I'm kind of like that
- 1:11:03was. One that sticks out is really
- 1:11:05special, Yeah. And that's good.
- 1:11:06Do you know? And that's will always be a core
- 1:11:08memory for you. Yeah.
- 1:11:09And that will always be be. Yeah, 'cause?
- 1:11:12Yeah 'cause I'm thinking about it now like I did have
- 1:11:14performance. Yeah, when you're little.
- 1:11:16Yeah, you done so many, you know, you done so many, you
- 1:11:20know, for being a singer from like you're a little wee little.
- 1:11:23I am. A wee little lassie, yes, but
- 1:11:27yes. So we're gonna start the lining
- 1:11:28round. Does he's gonna start again?
- 1:11:32All right. So just answer these questions
- 1:11:34is whatever first comes to your mind real quick and we'll try
- 1:11:39not to take your time, drag it on.
- 1:11:42I guess cuz we always do. But anyways, all right, first
- 1:11:45question, what would you take on a picnic?
- 1:11:49Hot dogs. Yeah, you're right.
- 1:11:53I would too. I would too.
- 1:11:56My go to is a hot dog as well. I just learned they're called
- 1:12:00Glizzy's now. What have you heard that?
- 1:12:02Have you heard that What I went to a baseball game and they were
- 1:12:06like, you're going to I want a glizzy.
- 1:12:08Yeah, that sounds like so naughty to me.
- 1:12:11Yeah, and I also felt so old, like Gen.
- 1:12:14Z or whatever. Like Glizzy is.
- 1:12:16You're stupid, but I like. A hot dog at a baseball game.
- 1:12:20And I was so excited and I was like, how's your Glizzy?
- 1:12:22And I was like, how dare you? I was like, no, that's a hot
- 1:12:26dog. Is that a slang?
- 1:12:29I stayed dizzy for the glizzy. Yeah, at a picnic.
- 1:12:34God, that's a good one. What would you take on a picnic?
- 1:12:44The last time that I went on a picnic, I'd brung but me
- 1:12:48sandwiches. Those are good too.
- 1:12:50For real. You saw a I have.
- 1:12:53OK, it was kind of a date. I had her meet me by the river,
- 1:12:57you know, by the keeper. And I was like, yeah, I've got
- 1:13:00these bun me sandwiches, 'cause we, I knew the timing of it and
- 1:13:03the IT was a Friday or something.
- 1:13:04And I was like, did you make these bun me?
- 1:13:06Sandwiches. Probably.
- 1:13:07You didn't eat dinner yet, but you know, just in case.
- 1:13:09It's kind of. Like did you make him?
- 1:13:11No, I didn't make him so dark. Where'd you get from?
- 1:13:12Asian restaurant. Kim LAN on Broadway.
- 1:13:16Because now that sounds amazing. I do have a one really funny
- 1:13:20story, really quick story about. So I was teaching a second grade
- 1:13:24class and the song was called Going on a Picnic.
- 1:13:28So like, going on a Picnic in the park today and then they're
- 1:13:33like, what are we going to have? So I'd have them all listed and
- 1:13:36they were like, oh, we'll take lemonade and we'll take.
- 1:13:39You know, hamburgers and we'll take chocolate and glizzies and
- 1:13:43whatever. And this girl who is so, so
- 1:13:47quiet, but she has older brothers and sisters and the
- 1:13:50whole crew. A whole crew at home.
- 1:13:52She raises her hand and she was like beer and I was like she
- 1:13:58probably my niece. Root beer.
- 1:14:00We're gonna take root beer on our picnic.
- 1:14:03She's probably my niece. Hey, But deep down we're like,
- 1:14:08yes, yes, you, right you right you.
- 1:14:11Gotta come to our picnic. OK, next one, Dusty.
- 1:14:18What is something you really want to do this winter since
- 1:14:20it's coming up soon? So I'm Christmas crazy.
- 1:14:26Anybody that knows me knows I am stupid Christmas crazy.
- 1:14:29So I get out my tree in November.
- 1:14:32I don't care about the presents. I care about how I look, how you
- 1:14:34smell, everything. And I don't.
- 1:14:36I don't care about the presents, but I love the Christmas cheer.
- 1:14:39So as soon as it's chilly. As soon as it's chilly, I'm like
- 1:14:43Christmas time. Yep.
- 1:14:46Are we putting up the tree? We have Christmas carols,
- 1:14:50Christmas lights. Gotta go look at them.
- 1:14:53Hot cocoa. I'm all for it, it says.
- 1:15:04Little Bailey's in there? Me too.
- 1:14:57You. You go, you go around like
- 1:14:59Christmas lights and you get hot chocolate and then you put a
- 1:15:01little bit of cocoa Spiket. Yes, exactly.
- 1:15:07I'm not into the decorating myself as much, but I like going
- 1:15:10to look at the lights and I do get into the spirit.
- 1:15:13Yeah, everybody does it. I always tell people Christmas
- 1:15:17fills the cracks in your heart. I'm the same way.
- 1:15:19I'm oh man, I'm so glad I met someone who thinks the same way
- 1:15:23too. Because everyone's like, why do
- 1:15:25you like Christmas? It just feels so sad because you
- 1:15:28had to crack. You have to, like, buy all these
- 1:15:31gifts. No, it's not about the gifts.
- 1:15:34Have you ever seen the Grinch? It's not about what you buy.
- 1:15:37You could have a small ass heart and you're still growing.
- 1:15:40It grew 3 sizes that day exactly.
- 1:15:46Yeah, I'm just all about trying to show my loved ones love and
- 1:15:51exactly like my brother. He's 16 and you know, kids,
- 1:15:56teenager like, oh guess I want the biggest thing.
- 1:15:58I want this, this and that. No, my my 16 year old, he's
- 1:16:02like, he's like, oh, I can't wait because the snow is so
- 1:16:06beautiful. The lights hit on it like it's
- 1:16:09it's just so calming because I'm like, I think the same.
- 1:16:11Way now winter weather is awful, but it is.
- 1:16:15You know what? I'm driving it.
- 1:16:16But if I'm not driving in it and I'm just sitting there next to
- 1:16:20it. With a Christmas tree and a hot
- 1:16:22cocoa. Yeah, With a fire going on.
- 1:16:25Oh, yes. I love what you think, girl.
- 1:16:28I love what you're thinking. Yeah.
- 1:16:30Next one Dusty. 3 words that define your style.
- 1:16:36Oh, that's. Can you go 1st?
- 1:16:393 words that define your style I I would say um, I I see it
- 1:16:57glamorous. OK, you see, you think
- 1:16:59glamorous, I think glamour. Because you know you love.
- 1:17:02You love to present yourself very well.
- 1:17:06Maybe you know, like. I was gonna say like.
- 1:17:10I wear so much I hardly ever wear color.
- 1:17:12I was going to say neutral. Oh, I'm going to treat you a
- 1:17:14beige nutri. Black, Brown.
- 1:17:17Beige. Yes.
- 1:17:20So it's going to say like neutral.
- 1:17:19Me too. Me too.
- 1:17:19Me. I'll say neutral, classic and
- 1:17:23glamorous. And she said glamorous.
- 1:17:25I'm I I would never call my. I'm so into that I like you.
- 1:17:29I I think it. I think it because like you
- 1:17:31know. Oh, for you.
- 1:17:33No, for you too as well. No, for you too as well.
- 1:17:35Because whatever you Because like the colors are you wearing
- 1:17:38in the neck? But they're all they're our
- 1:17:41bass. And look at me, I'm basing.
- 1:17:43Right. We actually match a little bit,
- 1:17:45that's, yeah, yeah, definitely. Do did we become best friends?
- 1:17:53Yup. Yup.
- 1:17:55You wanna go play? What does it say?
- 1:17:56You wanna go play something in the basement?
- 1:17:58Yup. There's so much room for
- 1:18:04activity. It's up with you Riverside
- 1:18:07people in basements. You're not the first Riverside
- 1:18:10person of it. We're gonna talk about basement.
- 1:18:12We're talking about step brothers.
- 1:18:15And bunk beds. And bunk beds.
- 1:18:17Yeah, Hammer that shit. What are you doing?
- 1:18:21No power tools, OK, Dad. And they pull on the the what's
- 1:18:26he called Wookie or what's the thing from Star Wars?
- 1:18:30And he's like, it's OK that mine's not movie quality the the
- 1:18:35the storm trooper, right? Well, it was the the guy that
- 1:18:39goes the Chewbacca. Oh.
- 1:18:41Chewbacca. They should put on our Chewbacca
- 1:18:42map. Thank you.
- 1:18:44They put on their Chewbacca mask.
- 1:18:45It's OK. Mine's not move.
- 1:18:46Equality. My favorite part is when I'm on
- 1:18:48a boat. They made that music video.
- 1:18:52I'm on a boat. That's my daddy's boat.
- 1:18:55I'm on a boat. Sorry, that's.
- 1:18:59Lightning round is not so lightning you're.
- 1:19:00Good. I knew Step brothers would make
- 1:19:02its way in here somehow. Some way somehow?
- 1:19:08All right, if you could have any superpower, but it only worked
- 1:19:11while you were slightly intoxicated, what would you?
- 1:19:15Say that's a weird because I always say if I could have any
- 1:19:19superpower it would be to fly. I always say that, but if I was
- 1:19:24slightly intoxicated, I don't think I should be flying.
- 1:19:31I would look like a weird drunk bird.
- 1:19:34So maybe. Superpower, I would say.
- 1:19:40If I so if I was sober, it'd definitely be flying.
- 1:19:43If I was drunk, it'd be super speed.
- 1:19:45No, that seems dangerous. You'd be tripping.
- 1:19:48You'd be tripping. Maybe.
- 1:19:50Maybe. What's that word was?
- 1:19:52Sorry, the T. Telekinesis, where you can read
- 1:19:56people's minds, Teleport, teleport.
- 1:19:58Oh, teleporting. Yes, cuz that we never need Uber
- 1:20:01again. Exactly.
- 1:20:03Teleporting. I agree with that, but I still
- 1:20:05have a. A fondness for I've always
- 1:20:08wanted to be able to fly. I sometimes it's weird, but I
- 1:20:13love bird watching. I think it's because I'm getting
- 1:20:15old. I think you trick you get into
- 1:20:17your 30s and you're like, I love bird watching now.
- 1:20:24I love the way that they soar. I think the same way because I
- 1:20:20like seeing a pyre. I like to see what's out.
- 1:20:26I love. So I I live where there's a lot
- 1:20:30of trees around and I love that the way they'll just land on a
- 1:20:33branch. They never.
- 1:20:34Worry about whether or not it's going to drop them.
- 1:20:37They feel safe and comfortable going from place to place to
- 1:20:40place and moving around, and I respect that.
- 1:20:45I love it. I love the way you think I love
- 1:20:47it. I think I fell in love with you,
- 1:20:50Molly, to be. Honest, I'm so.
- 1:20:52I love it too. I'm so excited.
- 1:20:55I love it. OK doesn't keep going.
- 1:20:57What number are we on if? You are a cocktail.
- 1:20:59What would your name be? And what ingredients would be
- 1:21:02included to represent? Don't think of this drink.
- 1:21:05Think of something else. OK.
- 1:21:07Well, I love raspberries. I think raspberries would be in
- 1:21:13there. Tito's.
- 1:21:16Probably Tito's and maybe something a little tart because,
- 1:21:22like, I'm just a little too much.
- 1:21:27Maybe it's yeah. What would you call it?
- 1:21:30What would you call yourself? I would call it so.
- 1:21:35I don't know because a lot of Times Now, if I introduce myself
- 1:21:38and I say, hi, I'm Molly. And they're like, what?
- 1:21:41Like what is it? I like the drug, like I'm like
- 1:21:44Molly. I'd call it Molly.
- 1:21:47Like the drug. Oh, I like that.
- 1:21:49I like that. You should put that.
- 1:21:51You should. If you were in a dating website,
- 1:21:53you should put that I'm a drug. Like Molly?
- 1:21:55Well, because people will say like, I'll be like hi, I'm
- 1:21:57Molly, and like Polly. Like no Molly, bitch, why would
- 1:22:00I be Polly? Polly One No cracker.
- 1:22:08But people say all kinds of stuff, like Holly, What?
- 1:22:11What I'm like, no, Molly, like the drug.
- 1:22:13And then they always remember after that, oh, they're like,
- 1:22:15oh, that bitch is so addicting. Right.
- 1:22:21OK. Next one.
- 1:22:21Let's see. What's the conspiracy theory
- 1:22:23that you believe in? Ooh, I'm ready for this.
- 1:22:26And it can't be aliens cuz. They are the.
- 1:22:30Government already said it, God damn it cuz I do.
- 1:22:33It I actually did have one that I was just thinking about the
- 1:22:37other day. I can't think of that off the
- 1:22:39top of my head. Is the Epstein thing a
- 1:22:46conspiracy? No.
- 1:22:47I mean, it could be. It could be.
- 1:22:50Does it count Do. You think he he killed himself
- 1:22:53or? I offed himself.
- 1:22:54I I legit think that he didn't. No, absolutely not.
- 1:22:58And the cameras off. Bitch, please.
- 1:23:00No, absolutely not. Bitch.
- 1:23:01Please. And I've watched, so I like, I
- 1:23:04watched so many documentaries. It's probably not healthy.
- 1:23:09And that's why I'm like, I should be able to think of like
- 1:23:11a million. Conspiracy theories, but that
- 1:23:14was one that I watched and I was like, this seems weird that
- 1:23:17people are not taking more into this, so.
- 1:23:20I'll go with that one. You see how they brought out the
- 1:23:22list? They didn't, did they?
- 1:23:24They did, They did. The list is on there.
- 1:23:28I feel like it's a an edited list, you know?
- 1:23:32I think the same way, too, because there's so many people
- 1:23:36who are like, so you know what I really think?
- 1:23:40OK, so you know how, like they talk about the, the sex
- 1:23:42trafficking. You know what I mean?
- 1:23:43Like that. Oh, man, all these famous people
- 1:23:47that's on that list made me think of them so different now.
- 1:23:50Absolutely, so different. And I'm just like, how did you
- 1:23:54know human trafficking is the number one thing right now than
- 1:23:59drugs? And I heard that Wichita is
- 1:24:02actually a big town for that because it's you just hop right
- 1:24:05on the highway, all the I-70. Yeah, so.
- 1:24:09I That's scary, isn't it? Yeah, it it it's so scary
- 1:24:13because, like, you teach your kids out here like the world is
- 1:24:15OK, but now you deal with the racism you think about.
- 1:24:19Now you see people are in, like, human sex trafficking.
- 1:24:22Like you cannot trust this world anymore.
- 1:24:24No, you can't at all. Nope.
- 1:24:26But yes, I agree with you. I agree with you.
- 1:24:29Epstein, That's my conspiracy theory.
- 1:24:31That fucking island. There's an island.
- 1:24:34Well, every. All you think it's gonna happen
- 1:24:35to Ghilane? I honestly, I I think she'll be
- 1:24:41fine. I hate to say that, but I think
- 1:24:44she will. And and she'll be in hiding.
- 1:24:47Yeah. I mean, she's in.
- 1:24:49She's in well, when she gets out, she'll be hiding.
- 1:24:52I just watched a part of a documentary on Well, Like it was
- 1:24:57like a season of it and it was on the Girls Gone Wild guy.
- 1:25:01Joe Francis And so obviously, like, that's not a savory or
- 1:25:07great business to begin with. But it was talking about all of
- 1:25:10his different like police runins and all these different things
- 1:25:13and he just moved to Mexico and just lives there now.
- 1:25:17Like if he comes back to America, he can be in trouble.
- 1:25:21But he's just fine down there, just living like millionaire,
- 1:25:23and they can't touch him down there.
- 1:25:25How is this not so? Yeah, yeah, I believe it.
- 1:25:28I believe it. The world is crooked, the
- 1:25:32government says. The government, I'm just gonna
- 1:25:36say it. It's.
- 1:25:39The most adventurous thing you've done, Molly.
- 1:25:41This is wild because I always have a good answer for this.
- 1:25:45I am not a bit adventurous. I have so much anxiety, but I've
- 1:25:50been skydiving. What?
- 1:25:52And I have anxiety and I didn't. Even done it yet?
- 1:25:55Not only that, I was blindfolded and driven there.
- 1:26:00And surprised, surprised. We're going skydiving.
- 1:26:03And I went, I'm part of you. I I was proud of myself.
- 1:26:08Was like I almost had a panic attack.
- 1:26:10I'm proud, but I did it. But hey, if you were there by
- 1:26:13yourself, there's no way you've got out of that plane.
- 1:26:15Absolutely not. Well, and I I did jump with
- 1:26:18where. You go with somebody else.
- 1:26:21Yeah. And so I kind of feel like if he
- 1:26:23hadn't, like, kicked us off, I would have been like, no thank
- 1:26:25you, no thank you. I'll stay here.
- 1:26:28Even though the light is green, I'll still be here.
- 1:26:30No, we'll just wait till he's on drawn down.
- 1:26:34How many? How many questions is that 10?
- 1:26:37Two more, Two more, two more. What's your favorite song to
- 1:26:40perform live? It kind of changes and the mood.
- 1:26:48Yeah, for a really long time. I want to say years.
- 1:26:53It was a song by Florence and the Machine called Cosmic Love.
- 1:26:58We always performed at last. It's my absolute favorite.
- 1:27:05But I will say that I I think I'm going to have some new ones
- 1:27:12coming up, some new favorite ones coming up.
- 1:27:15So it used to be cosmic love. Now it's gonna be something new,
- 1:27:20exciting, exciting. Alright, last question is who is
- 1:27:25your favorite singer of all time?
- 1:27:30This is gonna sound really corny, but can you go with
- 1:27:33anybody else except MJ? I mean, I feel like Michael
- 1:27:36Jackson hands down and. Performer, a singer.
- 1:27:39Performer like he's the best artist of all time.
- 1:27:42I would love to see him live right now.
- 1:27:44I know and and it like, hurt me when he passed away that I was
- 1:27:48like, I will never see him live now.
- 1:27:51Yeah, I I've got to say, I'm Jay.
- 1:27:53I say so too. But Molly, I appreciate you for
- 1:27:57coming to our podcast. It was a wonderful time.
- 1:28:00Thank you. I had so much fun.
- 1:28:02I was really nervous and you guys were awesome.
