- 0:00Speaker 1: Line from the Skying New Center.
- 0:03Speaker 2: This is the Kenny Report. Thanks for joining me on
- 0:07Speaker 2: a big news day tonight.
- 0:09Speaker 3: Violence, vandalism and arrests on the streets of Melbourne as
- 0:12Speaker 3: anti war protesters display hatred and ignorance.
- 0:17Speaker 2: In the US, the debate over the leadership of the
- 0:19Speaker 2: free world.
- 0:20Speaker 3: Kamala Harris sticks it to Donald Trump, and so do
- 0:23Speaker 3: the moderators. Also the strange case of the former state
- 0:27Speaker 3: Liberal leader and the white powder video he says is
- 0:31Speaker 3: a deep fake, plus Pauline Hansen and the Wednesday wrangle
- 0:35Speaker 3: on how the tills are as green.
- 0:37Speaker 2: As the greens. Let's get cracking.
- 0:42Speaker 3: What we saw on the streets of Melbourne today was
- 0:45Speaker 3: a national disgrace. This was anarchy on our streets, ugly
- 0:50Speaker 3: selfish anarchy, disrupting the lives of citizens going about their
- 0:54Speaker 3: daily business, endangering lives, taking up enormous police resources, and
- 0:59Speaker 3: leading the violence and vandalism. Now, the prime responsibility for
- 1:26Speaker 3: this mayhem lies, of course, with the ignorant and disrespectful
- 1:30Speaker 3: protesters themselves, but some of the blame has to go
- 1:33Speaker 3: to political leaders state and federal, who for too long
- 1:37Speaker 3: have fueled their ignorance, indulged the protesters' false claims and
- 1:42Speaker 3: disgraceful behavior and failed to stand up for decency, for facts,
- 1:47Speaker 3: and for the rule of law.
- 1:49Speaker 2: They've allowed people to chant.
- 1:50Speaker 3: Gas the Jews or where's the Jews without any prosecutions.
- 1:55Speaker 3: They've allowed people to celebrate the slaughter of innocent Jewish
- 1:59Speaker 3: people with no repercussions. They've allowed hate preachers dispute anti Semitism,
- 2:04Speaker 3: and they've allowed anti Israel and pro Palestinian protests to
- 2:09Speaker 3: chant slogans aligned with the bloodthirsty terrorist outfit of Hummas,
- 2:13Speaker 3: the call for the wiping out of the Jewish people
- 2:16Speaker 3: and the state of Israel.
- 2:18Speaker 2: So what do you expect to happen?
- 2:20Speaker 3: You get a mob like this turning up today and
- 2:23Speaker 3: pretending they're protesting against war, against weapons and in favor
- 2:28Speaker 3: of peace.
- 2:29Speaker 2: Give me a break.
- 2:31Speaker 3: Many of them turned up in balaclavas and ski masks.
- 2:36Speaker 2: There was no snow there.
- 2:37Speaker 4: They only wore those to one reason, to avoid being
- 2:41Speaker 4: subject to ACA spray when they came with intent to
- 2:45Speaker 4: provoke to attack.
- 2:48Speaker 3: Yeah, the police commissioner said the police were attacked and
- 2:50Speaker 3: even had feces thrown at them. And when it comes
- 2:54Speaker 3: to the facts of the issues involved, The protesters have
- 2:57Speaker 3: no idea.
- 2:59Speaker 5: Other countries to stop using weapons like this.
- 3:02Speaker 6: I want a genocide state to stop using our weapons
- 3:05Speaker 6: to kill children.
- 3:06Speaker 3: Yes, what blind ignorance. The current war in Israel is
- 3:12Speaker 3: fighting it. It's fighting again to defend itself, defend its
- 3:16Speaker 3: very existence. After Hummas invaded Israeli towns in the south,
- 3:21Speaker 3: slaughtered twelve hundred people, women, children, babies, men and the elderly.
- 3:26Speaker 3: They raped, mutilated, tortured and burned people, and they took
- 3:31Speaker 3: hundreds of hostages. Dozens of them are dead. Up to
- 3:34Speaker 3: one hundred are still either held or murdered still and
- 3:37Speaker 3: they executed six hostages just last month, shot dead after
- 3:42Speaker 3: being held in tunnels for eleven months. Israel is under
- 3:46Speaker 3: attack from Hummas, hezbalah Iran, the Houtis and other Islamist
- 3:52Speaker 3: extreme mists outfits who would rather die than allow Israel
- 3:56Speaker 3: to exist. Yet these idiotic protesters protend end that Israel
- 4:01Speaker 3: is the genocidal power. These people shame Australia, which won't
- 4:26Speaker 3: worry them.
- 4:27Speaker 2: They hate Australia and the West, and.
- 4:29Speaker 3: They're not really interested in Israel or the Palestinian people either.
- 4:33Speaker 2: They can't possibly understand the.
- 4:35Speaker 3: Issues or know what drives hum us, or they wouldn't
- 4:37Speaker 3: be doing this. They're just out there to indulge a
- 4:40Speaker 3: sense of juvenile rebellion that some of them never grow
- 4:44Speaker 3: out of. They hate their elders, they hate what they
- 4:46Speaker 3: see as the establishment. They hate capitalism America, Israel defense
- 4:52Speaker 3: forces the rule of law. They favor only anarchy and
- 4:56Speaker 3: any cause they can hijack along the way. Sadly, they're
- 5:00Speaker 3: given succor by the Greens and by Labour's socialists left,
- 5:05Speaker 3: and they're encouraged by nonsense from some United Nations bodies.
- 5:08Speaker 3: And what they don't understand is history or the facts.
- 5:13Speaker 3: No nation on Earth is more reliant on defense hardware
- 5:17Speaker 3: to protect its citizens than Israel. When it's not suicide
- 5:21Speaker 3: bombers or Hummus rapists and murderers, it's the rockets and
- 5:25Speaker 3: missiles from Hummas and Hesbalah directed at them, or the
- 5:29Speaker 3: drones from Iran. It's a traumatic way to have to live,
- 5:34Speaker 3: but it's only possible because of the weapons technology that
- 5:37Speaker 3: Israel uses. All these Melbourne protesters do, and protests like
- 5:42Speaker 3: them around the world, all they do is amplify hatred,
- 5:46Speaker 3: provide moral comfort for Hummas and therefore extend the war,
- 5:52Speaker 3: adding to the body count. What we need is political leaders, premiers,
- 5:58Speaker 3: ministers and the Prime Minister to putting facts on the record,
- 6:02Speaker 3: showing some moral clarity and some fortitude.
- 6:06Speaker 2: And we need it too from police.
- 6:08Speaker 3: From councils, from security organizations and educators.
- 6:13Speaker 2: Sadly we're getting the opposite.
- 6:15Speaker 3: We're meeting anarchy with weakness, and that only undermines this
- 6:19Speaker 3: nation and its people. Let's go straight to Melbourne and
- 6:26Speaker 3: catch up with former Labor Party front bencher remember.
- 6:29Speaker 2: For the Melbourne Ports at the time, Michael Danby. Thanks
- 6:32Speaker 2: for joining us.
- 6:32Speaker 3: Michael, firstly, your take on what unfolded in the streets
- 6:36Speaker 3: of Melbourne today.
- 6:37Speaker 7: But this is a normal defense exhibition that takes place
- 6:41Speaker 7: every year. Mission of Pattern described thirty nine arrests for
- 6:46Speaker 7: assault and assaulted police. There was only fifteen hundred of
- 6:50Speaker 7: these hardcore rather there than rather the twenty five thousand.
- 6:53Speaker 7: But this is just as you described it, the triumph
- 6:57Speaker 7: of intersectionality. How can you, if you're against air pollution
- 7:02Speaker 7: and you're an extinction rebellion person, be there with the
- 7:07Speaker 7: prohamas people from the Free Gaza movement. What have they
- 7:12Speaker 7: got in common?
- 7:15Speaker 2: It should be nothing.
- 7:16Speaker 7: People are in favor of the environment, don't support Jihadis
- 7:19Speaker 7: in the Middle East, but they're all there throwing objects
- 7:24Speaker 7: that the police forces are burning, rubbish like it.
- 7:27Speaker 2: So in the West.
- 7:28Speaker 7: Bank, it's a typical picture of these kinds of people who,
- 7:33Speaker 7: as you say, don't even know.
- 7:35Speaker 8: Where Israel is.
- 7:36Speaker 7: They wouldn't know where the river is and which you
- 7:38Speaker 7: see it is, but they're demonstrating to make defense companies
- 7:44Speaker 7: feel as uncomfortable as possible because they're against the whole
- 7:48Speaker 7: Western liberal system, and you know, the police finally have
- 7:53Speaker 7: stood up against them. It would have been better if
- 7:56Speaker 7: it had begun in Sydney on October the eighth, when
- 7:59Speaker 7: they dreadful Jihadas were yelling out gas the Jews.
- 8:03Speaker 3: Well, this ignorance and idiocy, as you say, is relevant
- 8:07Speaker 3: right throughout the protest.
- 8:10Speaker 2: There's one of the protests.
- 8:11Speaker 3: As well, was on radio and said the river to
- 8:13Speaker 3: the sea was the Jordan to the Red Sea, so
- 8:15Speaker 3: they don't even understand the geography.
- 8:17Speaker 2: I'm told.
- 8:18Speaker 3: Also, there was a Russian flag flying, so you're protesting
- 8:21Speaker 3: against war but supporting Russia the invading force in Ukraine.
- 8:26Speaker 2: So it is just madness.
- 8:27Speaker 3: But what do you say to my thesis that our
- 8:31Speaker 3: political leaders have let us down across the board. There
- 8:35Speaker 3: has not been enough taken to a clamp down on
- 8:38Speaker 3: the hate speech and the protests we've seen since October
- 8:41Speaker 3: the seventh, but even speak out against it and put
- 8:44Speaker 3: the clear facts, the moral facts on the table.
- 8:48Speaker 7: Well, it goes from internationally where the American administration is
- 8:52Speaker 7: facing the wrong way into the small corner of the
- 8:54Speaker 7: Middle East in Gaza, but doesn't face the orchestrator of
- 8:57Speaker 7: all of this in Iran. You know, the hoot hezbla Chris.
- 9:02Speaker 7: Australians don't know this, but the Red Sea International commercial
- 9:06Speaker 7: shipping is blocked by a bunch of sack wearing, sandal
- 9:10Speaker 7: wearing hooties, funded, financed and vectored by the Iranians onto
- 9:15Speaker 7: this and this is just the eighth front of the
- 9:19Speaker 7: Iranians here in Australia. They've got these useful idiots making
- 9:24Speaker 7: these demonstrations and trying to interconnect with the people. Each
- 9:29Speaker 7: husick should have been down in his own electorate telling
- 9:32Speaker 7: that fellow who said it was exciting and wonderful the
- 9:35Speaker 7: day after that that was not good enough. And Tony
- 9:39Speaker 7: Burke and others should have been outside some of those
- 9:41Speaker 7: mosques where they've been calling on kill the Jews and
- 9:44Speaker 7: just say that is not the Australian way.
- 9:47Speaker 2: That's what you're talking about with leadership.
- 9:49Speaker 7: Finally they got just Ciner Allen and Police Minister Carbines
- 9:54Speaker 7: to act, but they had to defend it because Jeff
- 9:57Speaker 7: shed there'll be no exhibitions if they allow this one
- 10:00Speaker 7: to be disrupted.
- 10:01Speaker 3: Well, they've been soft on these protests for so long.
- 10:03Speaker 3: Though were tough on Andy VAX's and the like, they've
- 10:06Speaker 3: been soft on these protests. Good to see they were
- 10:08Speaker 3: strong today, but they're going to need to be strong
- 10:10Speaker 3: there again tomorrow by the looks of it.
- 10:12Speaker 2: To Michael, I appreciate you joining us.
- 10:14Speaker 3: Michael Danby there a former member for Melbourne Report's former
- 10:18Speaker 3: Labor Party federal front bencher. Now, at this very moment,
- 10:25Speaker 3: there is a greater chance of Kamala Harris becoming president
- 10:28Speaker 3: than there was yesterday. The election is likely to be close,
- 10:31Speaker 3: of course, it'll still go either way, but there's no
- 10:34Speaker 3: doubt that Harris succeeded expectations in today's debate. She was
- 10:38Speaker 3: calm and assured, she stuck to her core messages, and
- 10:41Speaker 3: she didn't make any obvious mistakes.
- 10:44Speaker 9: Clearly, I am not Joe Biden, and I am certainly
- 10:48Speaker 9: not Donald Trump. And what I do offer is a
- 10:52Speaker 9: new generation of leadership for our country, one who believes
- 10:56Speaker 9: in what is possible.
- 11:00Speaker 3: Harris didn't answer any questions or show any substance. That's
- 11:04Speaker 3: another matter altogether. She just was more coherent than we've
- 11:07Speaker 3: seen her before. She stood up to Trump and she
- 11:10Speaker 3: delivered her political pitch, but as Trump pointed out, it's
- 11:14Speaker 3: a pretty transparent pitch.
- 11:17Speaker 4: She just started by saying she's going to do this,
- 11:19Speaker 4: She's going to do that, She's going to do all
- 11:21Speaker 4: these wonderful things. Why hasn't she done it. She's been
- 11:25Speaker 4: there for three and a half years. They've had three
- 11:27Speaker 4: and a half years to fix the border, they've had
- 11:30Speaker 4: three and a half years to create jobs and all
- 11:34Speaker 4: the things we talked about. Why hasn't she done it.
- 11:39Speaker 2: Now? Trump did pretty well too.
- 11:40Speaker 3: He didn't lose his call, and he hit most of
- 11:42Speaker 3: his central themes, but he failed to trip up the
- 11:45Speaker 3: vice president, and he didn't really personalize his message, and
- 11:49Speaker 3: by insisting he was robbed at the last election, he
- 11:52Speaker 3: was stuck in a debate about the past that he
- 11:54Speaker 3: can never win.
- 11:56Speaker 1: Are you now acknowledging that you lost in twenty twenty
- 12:00Speaker 1: at all?
- 12:00Speaker 4: I said that sarcastically. You know that, And we said, oh,
- 12:03Speaker 4: we lost by a whisker. That was said sarcastically. Look,
- 12:07Speaker 4: there's so much proof. All you have to do is
- 12:09Speaker 4: look at it. And they should have sent it back
- 12:11Speaker 4: to the legislatures for approval. I got almost seventy five
- 12:14Speaker 4: million votes, the most votes any sitting president has ever gotten.
- 12:17Speaker 4: I was told, if I got sixty three, which was
- 12:19Speaker 4: what I got in twenty sixteen, you can't be beaten
- 12:23Speaker 4: the election. People should never be thinking about an election
- 12:26Speaker 4: as fraudulent. We need two things. We need walls we
- 12:29Speaker 4: need and we have to have it. We have to
- 12:31Speaker 4: have borders, and we have to have good elections. Our
- 12:34Speaker 4: elections are bad.
- 12:37Speaker 9: Donald Trump was fired by eighty one million people, so
- 12:40Speaker 9: let's be clear about that. And clearly he is having
- 12:43Speaker 9: a very difficult time processing that. But we cannot afford
- 12:48Speaker 9: to have a president of the United States who attempts,
- 12:53Speaker 9: as he did in the past, to upend the will
- 12:56Speaker 9: of the voters in a free and fair election. And
- 12:59Speaker 9: I'm going to tell you that I have traveled the
- 13:02Speaker 9: world as Vice president of the United States, and world leaders
- 13:06Speaker 9: are laughing at Donald Trump. I have talked with military leaders,
- 13:10Speaker 9: some of whom worked with you, and they say you're
- 13:13Speaker 9: a discrece.
- 13:15Speaker 3: Now, the moderators, the two of them, were big players
- 13:19Speaker 3: in this debate.
- 13:19Speaker 2: Their bias was obvious.
- 13:21Speaker 3: Trump was in fact up against three opponents in this debate.
- 13:25Speaker 3: The moderators tried to pull Trump up on four occasions
- 13:28Speaker 3: with questionable fact checking interventions.
- 13:31Speaker 2: They are obviously pre planned or pre organized.
- 13:34Speaker 3: Yet when Kamala Harris ran debunket slights against Trump, she
- 13:39Speaker 3: wasn't corrected once. On immigration, there was the bizarre amplification
- 13:44Speaker 3: of online claims about whether Haitian immigrants are catching and
- 13:48Speaker 3: eating pets, Yes, cats and dogs. I'll show you more
- 13:52Speaker 3: on that later, but rest assured there'll be lots of
- 13:54Speaker 3: reporting into what's fact and what's fiction in this instance
- 13:58Speaker 3: in the days to come.
- 14:00Speaker 2: But as for debit, highlots.
- 14:01Speaker 3: Perhaps it was this attack from Harris that got under
- 14:05Speaker 3: Trump's skin the most.
- 14:07Speaker 9: He's going to talk about immigration a lot tonight, even
- 14:09Speaker 9: when it's not the subject that is being raised, And
- 14:12Speaker 9: I'm going to actually do something really unusual and I'm
- 14:14Speaker 9: going to invite you to attend one of Donald Trump's
- 14:17Speaker 9: rallies because it's a really interesting thing to watch. You
- 14:20Speaker 9: will see during the course of his rallies he talks
- 14:22Speaker 9: about fictional characters like Hannibal Lecter. He will talk about
- 14:27Speaker 9: Win Mills cause cancer. And what you will also notice
- 14:30Speaker 9: is that people start leaving his rallies early out of
- 14:33Speaker 9: exhaustion and boredom.
- 14:36Speaker 3: Whoa Trump rally boring? You can imagine how that went down.
- 14:41Speaker 4: People don't go to her rallies. There's no reason to go,
- 14:44Speaker 4: and the people that do go, she's busting him in
- 14:46Speaker 4: and paying them to be there and then showing them
- 14:49Speaker 4: in a different light, so she can't talk about that.
- 14:52Speaker 4: People don't leave my rallies. We have the biggest rallies,
- 14:55Speaker 4: the most incredible rallies in the history of politics. That's
- 14:58Speaker 4: because people want to take their kind back.
- 15:02Speaker 3: Look, there's so much more to discuss about this debate.
- 15:05Speaker 3: I'll talk about identity issues soon with former Democrat advisor
- 15:08Speaker 3: Barbara Hanniback, and later I'll share a verdict from Kristen Tate.
- 15:13Speaker 10: I'm not sure what's ahead of us, but if I
- 15:15Speaker 10: were to base my decision on how this selection will
- 15:18Speaker 10: come out. Just based on this debate, I would say
- 15:20Speaker 10: Calm l has the age here.
- 15:23Speaker 2: Lost to discuss.
- 15:24Speaker 3: And on top of all of that, Taylor Swift jumped
- 15:27Speaker 3: onto social media just after the debate and told her
- 15:30Speaker 3: two hundred and eighty three million followers that she's voting
- 15:34Speaker 3: for Harris. Swift is urging young people to register and
- 15:38Speaker 3: turn out and vote, and that's really the task for
- 15:41Speaker 3: the Democrats to get people out to vote. And by
- 15:44Speaker 3: making a real contest of this debate, Kamala Harris might
- 15:47Speaker 3: well have gone a long.
- 15:48Speaker 2: Way to doing just that.
- 15:53Speaker 3: Let's go now to former Democrat White House staffer Barbara
- 15:56Speaker 3: Handeback joins us live from Brisbane. Good to talk to
- 15:59Speaker 3: you again. Just quickly, you'll talk.
- 16:02Speaker 2: You'll top of the line assessment of the debate.
- 16:06Speaker 8: I was really surprised.
- 16:08Speaker 11: I just didn't even believe that Kamala had that much
- 16:12Speaker 11: direction inside her, or that she can take direction that well,
- 16:17Speaker 11: because we all know that she is surrounded by what
- 16:19Speaker 11: I think of as the Golden Triangle.
- 16:22Speaker 8: You've got George.
- 16:23Speaker 11: Clooney and Hollywood at the top, and you've got the
- 16:26Speaker 11: mass media. And then the third part of that is
- 16:30Speaker 11: Wall Street and they're all in her corner. But the
- 16:33Speaker 11: fact that she was able to come out and stay
- 16:35Speaker 11: calm and we did not get the usual word salad,
- 16:39Speaker 11: but she had some pretty good pings that she hit
- 16:42Speaker 11: him with.
- 16:43Speaker 4: And I was.
- 16:43Speaker 11: Also surprised that Trump was just not on top of
- 16:48Speaker 11: his game today. I was expecting much more from him
- 16:52Speaker 11: about the border. He didn't hold her feet to the
- 16:54Speaker 11: fire on that and talk about the caravans and all
- 16:58Speaker 11: of those people. They didn't go much into crime. They
- 17:01Speaker 11: didn't go into It was mentioned that she wanted to
- 17:05Speaker 11: defund the police. She played that one off and just
- 17:09Speaker 11: walked beyond it and went on.
- 17:11Speaker 2: Yeah, fascinating stuff. I want to get your thoughts on
- 17:13Speaker 2: a few excerpts here.
- 17:15Speaker 3: First up, let's talk about identity politics and this debite
- 17:19Speaker 3: if you like controversy in the past as to whether
- 17:22Speaker 3: Kamala Harris is a woman of Colera.
- 17:24Speaker 2: Or a black American. Let's see how that plied out.
- 17:28Speaker 4: You make a big deal out of something I couldn't
- 17:30Speaker 4: care less. Whatever she wants to be is okay with me.
- 17:33Speaker 2: But those were your words, So I don't know.
- 17:35Speaker 4: I don't know. I mean, all I can say is
- 17:36Speaker 4: I read where she was not black that she put
- 17:40Speaker 4: out and I'll say that, and then I read that
- 17:44Speaker 4: she was black, and that's okay. Either one was okay
- 17:47Speaker 4: with me, that's up to her.
- 17:50Speaker 9: I think it's I mean, honestly, I think it's a
- 17:53Speaker 9: tragedy that we have someone who wants to be president,
- 17:57Speaker 9: who has consistently, over the course of his career, attempted
- 18:02Speaker 9: to use race to divide the American people. You know,
- 18:06Speaker 9: I do believe that the vast majority of us ys
- 18:08Speaker 9: know that we have so much more in common than
- 18:09Speaker 9: what separates us, and we don't want this kind of
- 18:12Speaker 9: approach that is just constantly trying to divide us, and
- 18:16Speaker 9: especially by race.
- 18:18Speaker 2: We got Barbara.
- 18:19Speaker 3: I'm very keen to get your analysis of that exchange
- 18:22Speaker 3: and what it means politically.
- 18:25Speaker 11: Politically, it was probably Trump's lowest moment, I think, and
- 18:31Speaker 11: it all stemmed from what happened a couple of weeks
- 18:34Speaker 11: ago when he was speaking to the National Black Journalist
- 18:38Speaker 11: Group in Atlanta, Georgia, and why he would bring that up.
- 18:42Speaker 11: And if there's one thing about Kamala I know and
- 18:44Speaker 11: I remember Kamala from California back in the nineteen nineties,
- 18:48Speaker 11: she was dating and going out with Willie Brown, and
- 18:51Speaker 11: it was clear to everyone she was a woman of color.
- 18:54Speaker 11: So he just walked into quicksand with that one, because
- 18:58Speaker 11: it was actually if with people who have a little
- 19:02Speaker 11: more than you know, a low border of what's information
- 19:06Speaker 11: based about the media, it's been the Democrats for the
- 19:09Speaker 11: last five or six years who've been playing the race card,
- 19:13Speaker 11: and that is part of the core issue of all
- 19:16Speaker 11: of this woke nonsense.
- 19:18Speaker 8: Republicans have not gone.
- 19:20Speaker 11: There with that, and that he walked into that was
- 19:23Speaker 11: not smart on his part. And when he did it
- 19:26Speaker 11: with Obama saying well, I don't think the birtha they
- 19:29Speaker 11: called it, I don't think you were born in the
- 19:31Speaker 11: United States with Bertha. Donald Trump didn't start that rumor,
- 19:35Speaker 11: if you do your history, it was Bill and Hillary
- 19:39Speaker 11: Clinton who first put that one forward.
- 19:42Speaker 2: But Trump Trump went on with some of these things.
- 19:44Speaker 3: He doesn't start all of these things, but he amplified them,
- 19:46Speaker 3: as he did with the thing today. I want to
- 19:49Speaker 3: go to one of the main attacks on Kamala Harris, well,
- 19:51Speaker 3: he this time and Tom again. But that's about her
- 19:54Speaker 3: chopping and changing her policies, her formerly very left wing policies.
- 19:57Speaker 3: She's trying to get back to the right. Now, let's
- 20:00Speaker 3: start with a gun control. Here's what she said just
- 20:03Speaker 3: last week after that shocking latest shooting in the US.
- 20:08Speaker 9: We have to end this epidemic of gun violence in
- 20:11Speaker 9: our country once and for all. You know, it doesn't
- 20:14Speaker 9: have to be this way. It doesn't have to be
- 20:17Speaker 9: this way.
- 20:19Speaker 2: Okay, that was just last week.
- 20:20Speaker 3: She's sounding like she's in favor of gun control. Go
- 20:23Speaker 3: back further about five years and she was saying she
- 20:25Speaker 3: was in favor of mandatory gun buybacks.
- 20:29Speaker 9: I support buybacks, and I think that we have five
- 20:32Speaker 9: million assault weapons on the streets of America.
- 20:37Speaker 3: Yet today in the debate, we got this from Kamala Harris.
- 20:41Speaker 9: Tim Walls and I are both gun owners. We're not
- 20:43Speaker 9: taking anybody's guns away. So stop with the continuous lying
- 20:46Speaker 9: about this stuff.
- 20:48Speaker 3: So help me out out here, Barbara. Is she in
- 20:50Speaker 3: favor of gun control or not?
- 20:53Speaker 8: She says she's in favor of gun control.
- 20:56Speaker 11: Just about every Congressman and every Democrat congressmen and Democrat
- 21:03Speaker 11: senator they say they're for gun control.
- 21:06Speaker 8: But believe you mean most of the.
- 21:07Speaker 11: Women walking around and a lot of the men, if
- 21:10Speaker 11: not all, they have a little pistole in their purse
- 21:13Speaker 11: or in their pocket, and their drivers also have a gun.
- 21:17Speaker 11: And most of them live in a gated community that
- 21:20Speaker 11: has guards or police or some sort of people to
- 21:23Speaker 11: protect them. So they are two sides to this coin.
- 21:27Speaker 11: What they say and what they do are two different coins.
- 21:30Speaker 11: And I don't know why Trump didn't go after her,
- 21:34Speaker 11: not just on the gun control, but on the crime
- 21:37Speaker 11: and all.
- 21:37Speaker 8: Of the cities. She was against cracking, now she's for it.
- 21:41Speaker 3: Well, I'll just pick you up there, because that's another
- 21:42Speaker 3: example of God.
- 21:43Speaker 7: Here.
- 21:43Speaker 3: Here's what Kamala was saying in recent years when it
- 21:46Speaker 3: comes to fracking.
- 21:48Speaker 12: Will you commit to implementing a federal ban on fracking
- 21:52Speaker 12: your first day in office? Adding the United States the
- 21:55Speaker 12: list of countries who have banned this devastating practice.
- 21:58Speaker 9: There's no question I'm in favor of banning fracking.
- 22:00Speaker 3: So yeah, Yet today at the debate, she said she
- 22:04Speaker 3: was definitely not favoring a frecking band. She supported frecking
- 22:08Speaker 3: and Donald Trump took her up on that.
- 22:11Speaker 4: Fracking She's been against it for twelve years. Defund the police,
- 22:16Speaker 4: she's been against that forever. She gave all that stuff up,
- 22:20Speaker 4: very wrongly, very horribly and everybody's laughing at it. Okay,
- 22:24Speaker 4: they're all laughing at it. She gave up at least
- 22:27Speaker 4: twelve and probably fourteen or fifteen different policies, like she
- 22:31Speaker 4: was big on defund the police in Minnesota. She went
- 22:34Speaker 4: out a minute, I'm talking now, you don't mind? Please?
- 22:39Speaker 4: Does that sound familiar?
- 22:41Speaker 2: There we go.
- 22:42Speaker 3: We're just about out of time, Barbara, just in a
- 22:44Speaker 3: few words. Did this debate increase Kamala Harris's chances or not?
- 22:49Speaker 8: Yes, it really did.
- 22:51Speaker 2: I think it did too help America.
- 22:54Speaker 11: But if she holds on like she did today, and
- 22:57Speaker 11: I don't know if she can prepare for another debate
- 23:00Speaker 11: or if they're even allowed to go into one since
- 23:02Speaker 11: she nailed this.
- 23:03Speaker 8: One so well. But Trump's got his work to do.
- 23:06Speaker 2: Now, he sure does. Thanks so much for joining us, Barbara.
- 23:08Speaker 2: Great to catch up with.
- 23:09Speaker 3: You're going to get your insights, Barbara hindhimback there live
- 23:11Speaker 3: from Melbourne, from Brisbane. That was actually we're in Melbourne earlier.
- 23:15Speaker 3: We're going to be talking more about this later on.
- 23:17Speaker 3: But don't go away because after the breaker and catch
- 23:19Speaker 3: up with Pauline Hansen. She's on the attack over Labour's
- 23:23Speaker 3: incompetence and their inability to take responsibility. I've got to
- 23:32Speaker 3: give you an update on the bizarre story from South
- 23:35Speaker 3: Australia that I shared with you last night. Video allegedly
- 23:39Speaker 3: showing the former Liberal Opposition leader David Spears sniffing a
- 23:42Speaker 3: white substance has dominated the political debate in that state.
- 23:46Speaker 3: Spears says the video is a deep fake, denies being
- 23:50Speaker 3: involved in it, and his leader said he should make
- 23:53Speaker 3: a complaint to the police if that's the case. Well,
- 23:57Speaker 3: even though he says it was all fake, Spear didn't
- 24:00Speaker 3: turn up at parliament yesterday and today he issued a
- 24:04Speaker 3: statement saying it was all very distressing for him. He
- 24:07Speaker 3: went on to say that he'd consulted medical professionals now
- 24:11Speaker 3: and he's been advised to take time off work and
- 24:14Speaker 3: concentrate on his health, so he's skipped parliament again and
- 24:18Speaker 3: gone on medical leave. Spears also said he wouldn't make
- 24:22Speaker 3: any further statements on this matter and he's engaged lawyers
- 24:26Speaker 3: to help him with this difficult matter.
- 24:29Speaker 2: Wow, this is a big development.
- 24:32Speaker 3: If this is just a deep fake video, why the
- 24:36Speaker 3: drama wouldn't you just report it to police and carry
- 24:40Speaker 3: on and turn up at Parliament and do your job.
- 24:42Speaker 2: It's quite a mystery.
- 24:43Speaker 3: Let's hope that David Spears is okay and we get
- 24:46Speaker 3: to the bottom of this.
- 24:52Speaker 2: Now, I mentioned I was going to catch up with
- 24:53Speaker 2: Pauline Hansen.
- 24:54Speaker 3: She's been called away to the Senate, but I do
- 24:56Speaker 3: want to show you a speech she made and this
- 24:58Speaker 3: is a theme that she's developed, and she's put out
- 25:01Speaker 3: some social media posts and the like, saying that the
- 25:03Speaker 3: trouble with the Albanesi Labor government is they don't take
- 25:06Speaker 3: responsibility for anything.
- 25:08Speaker 9: Have a looked, well, is the Albanesi Labor government ever
- 25:13Speaker 9: ever going to take responsibility for anything it does?
- 25:18Speaker 2: Well?
- 25:18Speaker 3: I mean, paul n comes on this show most weeks
- 25:21Speaker 3: she should have been watching.
- 25:23Speaker 2: We were talking about this.
- 25:24Speaker 3: I first in editor maybe three months ago, saying that
- 25:29Speaker 3: the Albanese government was constantly ducking responsibility for.
- 25:34Speaker 2: Everything it was in charge of.
- 25:36Speaker 3: And in fact I dug out the old Helen Shapiro
- 25:38Speaker 3: song not not Responsible, and Ray Hadley on two GV
- 25:42Speaker 3: liked that so much and thought it summed up this
- 25:44Speaker 3: government so well. He got the Robertson Brothers to do
- 25:46Speaker 3: a version and this is the theme song of the
- 25:48Speaker 3: Albanese government.
- 25:51Speaker 8: She is not deponsible.
- 26:00Speaker 4: He gets up you he thinks is not not not.
- 26:08Speaker 2: Yeah, that's it, paul En Hanson.
- 26:10Speaker 3: That should be your theme song as well, because they
- 26:12Speaker 3: really do duck responsibility at every turn. Now we've got
- 26:16Speaker 3: more coming up on the debate later on, but there
- 26:18Speaker 3: are so many big issues covered in that debate that
- 26:21Speaker 3: we're not going to be to replay all of them.
- 26:22Speaker 3: I just want to throw in for you what each
- 26:25Speaker 3: of the candidates, remembering of course that they're vying to
- 26:28Speaker 3: be the leader of the free world, what each of
- 26:30Speaker 3: them said about what's happening in the Middle East at
- 26:32Speaker 3: the moment.
- 26:33Speaker 2: He's Kamala Harris.
- 26:35Speaker 9: Let's understand how we got here. On October seven, Hamas,
- 26:40Speaker 9: a terrorist organization, slaughtered twelve hundred Israelis, many of them
- 26:47Speaker 9: young people who are simply attending a concert. Women were
- 26:51Speaker 9: horribly raped, and so absolutely I said, then, I say,
- 26:55Speaker 9: now Israel has a right to defend itself. We would,
- 26:59Speaker 9: and how it does so matters because it is also true,
- 27:04Speaker 9: far too many innocent Palestinians have been killed.
- 27:08Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 27:09Speaker 3: I thought that was a pretty good exposition from Kamala Harris.
- 27:12Speaker 2: The trouble is of those.
- 27:13Speaker 3: She goes on to talk about negotiating a peace treaty
- 27:16Speaker 3: and the like, and we know that Hamas are never
- 27:19Speaker 3: going to be a fair player in this. They always
- 27:23Speaker 3: will want to kill people, kill Israelis. So I think
- 27:26Speaker 3: what the Biden Harris administration should be doing is for
- 27:29Speaker 3: pushing to end the war by defeating Hamas. That's the
- 27:33Speaker 3: only way you getting in the lasting peace. But Donald
- 27:36Speaker 3: Trump had his say on the same issue and went
- 27:38Speaker 3: for typical Trump overstatement.
- 27:41Speaker 4: She hates Israel if she's president, I believe that Israel
- 27:45Speaker 4: will not exist within two years from now. And I've
- 27:48Speaker 4: been pretty good at predictions, and I hope I'm wrong
- 27:50Speaker 4: about that one. She hates Israel at the same time,
- 27:54Speaker 4: in her own way, she hates the Arab population because
- 27:58Speaker 4: the whole place is going to get blown up, Arabs,
- 28:03Speaker 4: Jewish people, Israel, Israel will be gone. It would have
- 28:07Speaker 4: never happened. Iran was broke under Donald Trump.
- 28:12Speaker 3: Yeah, I hope he's wrong about those predictions too. But
- 28:15Speaker 3: that's what they had to say about the current war
- 28:17Speaker 3: between Israel and Hummas in the Middle East. We're going
- 28:20Speaker 3: to get to a break on the other side of
- 28:21Speaker 3: that Kristin Tate will join me to talk about who
- 28:24Speaker 3: won this fierce presidential debate. Plus we got the Wednesday
- 28:27Speaker 3: wrangle with Liz stra and Justin Smith. Let's get back
- 28:35Speaker 3: to that fascinating hour and a half of television today.
- 28:38Speaker 3: It was gripping stuff the presidential debate. I thought Kamala
- 28:41Speaker 3: Harris exceeded expectations by a long wave, and let's check
- 28:44Speaker 3: in with Kristin Tate in Boston for her view.
- 28:48Speaker 5: I mean, sure she did.
- 28:50Speaker 10: The media and the network that was hosting this debate
- 28:54Speaker 10: was an absolute disgrace. The moderators were jumping in fact
- 28:58Speaker 10: checking Trump and.
- 29:00Speaker 5: Him right along with Kamala Harris.
- 29:02Speaker 10: So the media bias was on full display, and Trump
- 29:05Speaker 10: did not have his best night. He seemed like he
- 29:07Speaker 10: had not prepared as much as Kamala had, and she
- 29:11Speaker 10: was very successful at kind of jabbing.
- 29:14Speaker 5: Him and irritating him.
- 29:16Speaker 10: His demeanor really changed after she said that people left
- 29:19Speaker 10: his rallies early because they got bored.
- 29:21Speaker 5: You could see that really got.
- 29:22Speaker 10: Him angry, and his whole tone kind of shifted after
- 29:25Speaker 10: that moment. I suspect overall this debate won't move the
- 29:29Speaker 10: needle too much, But because this race is just so tight, Chris,
- 29:33Speaker 10: it could end up boosting Kamala by a couple of points,
- 29:36Speaker 10: and in a race.
- 29:37Speaker 5: Like this, that could make all the difference.
- 29:39Speaker 2: It could.
- 29:39Speaker 3: Indeed, that'll be pretty happy with her performance the Democrats.
- 29:43Speaker 3: But in the way, there was no substance in a
- 29:46Speaker 3: substance in it. And it was very clear from the
- 29:48Speaker 3: first question that Kamala Harris was not there to answer questions,
- 29:51Speaker 3: but just to deliver rehearsed lines. As we saw with
- 29:55Speaker 3: this first question on the economy.
- 29:58Speaker 1: When it comes to the economy, do you believe Americans
- 30:01Speaker 1: are better off than they were four years ago?
- 30:03Speaker 9: So I was raised as a middle class kid, and
- 30:07Speaker 9: I am actually the only person on this stage who
- 30:10Speaker 9: has a plan that is about lifting up the middle
- 30:13Speaker 9: class and working people of America. I believe in the ambition,
- 30:17Speaker 9: the aspirations, the dreams of the American people.
- 30:21Speaker 2: Yes, so there you go.
- 30:22Speaker 3: That's Kamala Harris doesn't answer the question, of course, because
- 30:25Speaker 3: the Americans are not better off than Trump had a
- 30:28Speaker 3: pretty aggressive line on the economy.
- 30:31Speaker 4: We've had a terrible economy because inflation, which is really
- 30:35Speaker 4: known as a country buster, it breaks up countries. We
- 30:38Speaker 4: have inflation like very few people have ever seen before,
- 30:42Speaker 4: probably the worst in our nation's history.
- 30:46Speaker 3: There you go, Donald Trump, the economy surely is a
- 30:48Speaker 3: big plus for him.
- 30:50Speaker 2: Kristen.
- 30:52Speaker 10: Of course, he could have gone a lot further than that, though, Chris.
- 30:55Speaker 10: The thing that was so frustrating watching this debate as
- 30:57Speaker 10: a conservative, with all the misted opportunity unities by Trump,
- 31:01Speaker 10: he could have really pushed her on the economy and
- 31:03Speaker 10: painted pictures of struggling Americans who can't afford to feed
- 31:07Speaker 10: their kids, who can't afford their homes. I mean, it's
- 31:10Speaker 10: so impossible right now for an average American family to
- 31:13Speaker 10: purchase a starter home. These are the specific things that
- 31:17Speaker 10: Donald Trump should have been talking about. He should have
- 31:19Speaker 10: had stats on the tip of his tongue, and it
- 31:22Speaker 10: just seemed like he wasn't.
- 31:23Speaker 5: That well prepared.
- 31:25Speaker 10: Kamala, of course, was lying the whole time about the
- 31:27Speaker 10: economy and trying to distance herself or ignore the reality
- 31:31Speaker 10: of the economy that's in shambles and the inflation.
- 31:34Speaker 5: But she needed to be called out for that.
- 31:36Speaker 2: Yeah, I'll tell you what.
- 31:37Speaker 3: He didn't really focus it down onto individuals so much
- 31:40Speaker 3: as the whole country did.
- 31:41Speaker 2: Donald Trump.
- 31:42Speaker 3: But one thing that's had for the rest of us
- 31:45Speaker 3: in the rest of the world to understand is the
- 31:46Speaker 3: passion and I suppose the crassness of the abortion debate
- 31:51Speaker 3: in the US. Let's have a look at the way
- 31:53Speaker 3: some of that plied out.
- 31:55Speaker 4: They're radical. The Democrats are radical in that. And her
- 31:59Speaker 4: vice presidential pick, which I think is a horrible pick
- 32:02Speaker 4: by the way, for our country because he is really
- 32:05Speaker 4: out of it. But her vice presidential pick says abortion
- 32:08Speaker 4: in the ninth month is absolutely fine. He also says
- 32:12Speaker 4: execution after birth, it's execution, no longer abortion because the
- 32:17Speaker 4: baby is born is okay.
- 32:19Speaker 6: There is no state in this country where it is
- 32:21Speaker 6: legal to kill a baby after it's born. Man and
- 32:24Speaker 6: vice president want to get your response to President Trump?
- 32:26Speaker 9: Well, as I said, you're going to hear a bunch
- 32:28Speaker 9: of lies. And that's not actually a surprising fact.
- 32:32Speaker 3: Yeah, Christian, every moment they talk about the abortion issue
- 32:35Speaker 3: seems to be a good one for Kamala Harrison the Democrats.
- 32:39Speaker 3: Is that a fair assessment.
- 32:42Speaker 5: Yes, she's very strong on this issue.
- 32:44Speaker 10: However, Chris the moderator jumped in there and tried to
- 32:49Speaker 10: fact tech Trump. Her fact check was actually incorrect. Trump
- 32:54Speaker 10: was right with what he said. There are states where
- 32:57Speaker 10: after like Minnesota, we're after the baby is born that
- 33:03Speaker 10: the doctor does not necessarily have to provide life saving
- 33:06Speaker 10: care for the baby if the baby was supposed to
- 33:09Speaker 10: have been aborted. So that's what was so frustrating, again
- 33:12Speaker 10: and again the moderators jumping in, sometimes with incorrect factchecks.
- 33:16Speaker 10: But yes, Kamala Harris is very passionate about abortion and
- 33:20Speaker 10: that is probably the strongest topic for her in this debate.
- 33:24Speaker 3: Yeah, there is no doubt, no doubt at all that
- 33:27Speaker 3: the moderators were biased. They fact checked Donald Trump a
- 33:30Speaker 3: number of times and never affect checked Kamala Harris when
- 33:33Speaker 3: she was running redundant lines.
- 33:35Speaker 2: So let's go to immigration.
- 33:37Speaker 3: Donald Trump came back to it time and time again,
- 33:40Speaker 3: and he focused boldly on an issue that's been really
- 33:42Speaker 3: building on social media in the past few days, and
- 33:45Speaker 3: that is accusations that Haitian immigrants have been killing ducks
- 33:49Speaker 3: and cats and dogs to eat them.
- 33:51Speaker 2: Is Donald Trump in.
- 33:53Speaker 4: Springfield, they're eating the dogs the people that came in,
- 33:57Speaker 4: They're eating the cats, they're eating they're eating the pets
- 34:02Speaker 4: of the people that live there. And this is what's
- 34:05Speaker 4: happening in our country and it's a shame.
- 34:08Speaker 1: I just want to clarify here. You bring up Springfield, Ohio,
- 34:11Speaker 1: and ABCDS did reach out to the city manager there.
- 34:14Speaker 1: He told us there have been no credible reports of
- 34:16Speaker 1: specific claims of pets being harmed, injured, or abused by
- 34:19Speaker 1: individuals within the immigrant community.
- 34:22Speaker 4: All I see people on Tellien. Let me just say,
- 34:23Speaker 4: this is the people on television. My dog was taken
- 34:26Speaker 4: and used for food. So maybe he said that, and
- 34:29Speaker 4: maybe that's a good thing to say for a city manager.
- 34:32Speaker 1: I'm not taking this from television people on television to
- 34:34Speaker 1: say manager dog was eaten by the people that went there. Again,
- 34:39Speaker 1: the Springfield city manager says, there's no evidence of that vices.
- 34:42Speaker 1: I'll let you respond to the rest of what you've.
- 34:43Speaker 9: Heard talk about extreme.
- 34:48Speaker 2: Well, Christen, she laughs it off.
- 34:49Speaker 3: But I imagine there's going to be a lot of
- 34:51Speaker 3: reporting on this issue in the days to come.
- 34:55Speaker 10: I mean, Donald Trump was debating three people there, and
- 34:58Speaker 10: how infuriating that Kamala Harris is standing there laughing hysterically
- 35:04Speaker 10: while talking about immigration.
- 35:06Speaker 5: And our country being destroyed by millions of immigrants coming
- 35:10Speaker 5: into this country under her and Joe Biden's administration.
- 35:13Speaker 10: Again not to be a broken record, but Trump could
- 35:15Speaker 10: have gone a lot further. It was a missed opportunity
- 35:18Speaker 10: to point out the fact that more than.
- 35:19Speaker 13: Ten million illegal immigrants have been ushered into this country
- 35:23Speaker 13: by the Biden Harris administration, more than the population of
- 35:27Speaker 13: many large cities in this country, and it is having
- 35:30Speaker 13: a drastic impact on the culture of this country and
- 35:34Speaker 13: the economy of this country by the way people are
- 35:36Speaker 13: being killed from crime, Our hospitals, our schools are overflooded.
- 35:41Speaker 5: Trump should have painted many more pictures.
- 35:43Speaker 10: But Kamala's reaction to that was absolutely inappropriate.
- 35:47Speaker 3: Well, let's have a look at Kamala Harris's attack on
- 35:49Speaker 3: Donald Trump, because I want to make a point about this.
- 35:51Speaker 9: Let's remember Charlottesville where there was a mob of people
- 35:57Speaker 9: carrying tiki torches spewing anti Semitic hate, and what did
- 36:03Speaker 9: the president then at the time say, there were fine
- 36:07Speaker 9: people on each side. Donald Trump, the candidate, has said
- 36:10Speaker 9: in this election there will be a blood bath if
- 36:14Speaker 9: this and the outcome of this election is not to
- 36:16Speaker 9: his liking. Let's turn the page on this. Let's not
- 36:20Speaker 9: go back.
- 36:22Speaker 3: Well, as you know, Christian, both of those claims against
- 36:24Speaker 3: Donald Trump. The fine people one on the blood bath
- 36:27Speaker 3: thing have been debunked by a very reputable.
- 36:30Speaker 2: Fact checking organizations.
- 36:31Speaker 3: They've twisted his words there in a really, really, really
- 36:35Speaker 3: misleading way, but they keep doing it, and the vice
- 36:38Speaker 3: president's keeping on doing that.
- 36:39Speaker 2: And Donald Trump interestingly hit back at the way the
- 36:42Speaker 2: legal system.
- 36:43Speaker 3: And some of this debate had been weaponized against him
- 36:46Speaker 3: and suggested that's part of the reason for the assassination
- 36:49Speaker 3: attempt against him.
- 36:50Speaker 8: Have a look, she weaponized.
- 36:52Speaker 4: I probably took a bullet to their head because of
- 36:56Speaker 4: the things that they say about me. They talk about
- 37:00Speaker 4: I'm a threat to democracy. They're the threat to democracy.
- 37:04Speaker 4: Rather it take Russia, Russia, Russia investigation that.
- 37:07Speaker 3: It went nowhere, there go some of the laws used
- 37:11Speaker 3: against Donald Trump. Your final analysis, then, Christen, of how
- 37:15Speaker 3: all this plied out and what to expect.
- 37:19Speaker 10: Look, I know it seems like the elections right around
- 37:22Speaker 10: the corner now, and it kind of is. But in
- 37:24Speaker 10: terms of politics, it's still quite a long time until
- 37:28Speaker 10: voting day, so much could happen between now and then.
- 37:31Speaker 5: However, the recent polls are so tight.
- 37:35Speaker 10: And I fear as a conservative that this debate may
- 37:39Speaker 10: push Kamala Harris over the edge because the suburban voters
- 37:42Speaker 10: out there, particularly suburban women voters who are undecided, may
- 37:46Speaker 10: have launched this debate and found her to be likable
- 37:51Speaker 10: and full of joy, and Trump may have come off
- 37:55Speaker 10: as a bit defensive and angry.
- 37:57Speaker 5: So I'm not sure what's ahead of us.
- 38:00Speaker 10: If I were to base my decision on how this
- 38:02Speaker 10: election will come out just based on this debate, I
- 38:05Speaker 10: would say Kamala has the edge here and.
- 38:07Speaker 3: It was enough to win over Tyler Swift, which could
- 38:10Speaker 3: be decisive in a way too.
- 38:12Speaker 10: I saw that, yes, Taylor Swift has an army of
- 38:16Speaker 10: millennials and hang on to her every word.
- 38:18Speaker 5: She came out and supported Kamala Harris just minutes.
- 38:22Speaker 10: After this debate, so that could sway young voters, although
- 38:26Speaker 10: young voters typically don't go to.
- 38:28Speaker 5: The polls in large numbers, so that's yet to be seen.
- 38:32Speaker 3: Thanks so much for joining us again, christ and I
- 38:34Speaker 3: appreciate it.
- 38:34Speaker 2: We'll catch up next week.
- 38:36Speaker 5: Thank you very much, Chris.
- 38:38Speaker 3: It's getting fascinating her and fascinating her, isn't it. Let's
- 38:42Speaker 3: get into the Wednesday wrangle now. Joining me on the
- 38:44Speaker 3: disk iscuy and news host list.
- 38:45Speaker 2: Stora Great to.
- 38:46Speaker 3: See Liz and in Melbourne as Eva a columnist and
- 38:49Speaker 3: broadcast to Justin Smith. Justin, I've got to start with
- 38:52Speaker 3: you and your city. It was just shocking what we
- 38:56Speaker 3: saw on Fold today. I've had my sye on't as
- 38:59Speaker 3: as the theory in Melbourne. You've got to see similar tomorrow.
- 39:04Speaker 14: Yeah, I don't think much is going to change tomorrow.
- 39:06Speaker 14: In fact, it might even get a little bit worse.
- 39:10Speaker 14: It's a shocker. There's no way that I would defend it.
- 39:13Speaker 14: I don't know what the percentage would be of people
- 39:17Speaker 14: that are decent protesters who just want to turn up
- 39:20Speaker 14: there and put out their message and protest properly. I
- 39:24Speaker 14: don't doubt there are some of them in that crowd,
- 39:26Speaker 14: but there also seem to be way too many who
- 39:29Speaker 14: are just held bent on violence. It's a real shame
- 39:32Speaker 14: because do we not I think the three of us
- 39:35Speaker 14: would agree, do we not want to have protests in
- 39:37Speaker 14: this country? We want people to be able to say, hey, listen,
- 39:40Speaker 14: we're not happy about something. We want to go out
- 39:42Speaker 14: and protest for it.
- 39:43Speaker 2: Why And at the.
- 39:45Speaker 14: Moment we're not able to do it because there's such
- 39:47Speaker 14: an element in there that brings something else They're not
- 39:51Speaker 14: there about getting a message across. They're there for something else.
- 39:53Speaker 14: And it's so damaging and such a damn shame to
- 39:57Speaker 14: see their anarchists.
- 40:00Speaker 3: They're not out there that to protest against anything. They're
- 40:02Speaker 3: out there to protest against Australia, against capitalism, against the establishmentists.
- 40:07Speaker 6: And we saw that in the amount of flags that
- 40:09Speaker 6: were at this rally. I saw a Russian flag, a
- 40:12Speaker 6: Palestinian flag. I mean, you do wonder what is the
- 40:15Speaker 6: common cause that these people are actually gathering around, But
- 40:19Speaker 6: what a strange way for an anti war essentially protest,
- 40:23Speaker 6: that's what we're supposed to understand. This was to devolve
- 40:27Speaker 6: into such complete and utter violence on the streets. They
- 40:30Speaker 6: clearly do not practice what they preach. But I had
- 40:33Speaker 6: to laugh.
- 40:34Speaker 2: When they knocked off for a lunch freight.
- 40:36Speaker 6: This isn't the rabbit Marxist of yesteryear opposing the Vietnam
- 40:41Speaker 6: War or whatever. They literally down tools were about an
- 40:44Speaker 6: hour and said, well, I've got a lunch break now.
- 40:47Speaker 6: I just found that incredibly funny. Look far bit from
- 40:50Speaker 6: me to back the military industrial complex, which is responsible
- 40:54Speaker 6: for far more evil in the world than we can
- 40:56Speaker 6: possibly quantify, But at the same time, everyone understands if
- 41:01Speaker 6: you want peace, you have to.
- 41:03Speaker 5: Be ready for war.
- 41:04Speaker 6: Those two things go hand in hand in a world life.
- 41:07Speaker 3: And as I said at the outset, no country relies
- 41:10Speaker 3: on the defensive weaponry more so than Israel.
- 41:15Speaker 2: It wouldn't exist if it didn't have that technology to
- 41:18Speaker 2: protect itself.
- 41:19Speaker 3: What about the political leadership justin we've seen so much
- 41:23Speaker 3: dilly dallying around protests and hateful messages over the almost
- 41:29Speaker 3: a year since October the seventh. A little wonder then
- 41:33Speaker 3: that protests eventually get out of hand as far as
- 41:36Speaker 3: the authorities are concerned. There'd be a lot easier to
- 41:39Speaker 3: control now if they stamped out a lot of their
- 41:41Speaker 3: hate earlier on.
- 41:44Speaker 14: I don't think the politics plays a big part in this,
- 41:47Speaker 14: to be honest, because I think if you look at
- 41:49Speaker 14: those people that were out there today, they were hell.
- 41:53Speaker 2: Bent on doing it.
- 41:54Speaker 14: There is no message that could have been put out,
- 41:56Speaker 14: There is no penalty that would have been put out
- 41:59Speaker 14: that would have stopped the bad element of these protests
- 42:03Speaker 14: getting out and doing what they did. So look, I
- 42:06Speaker 14: don't think the own political point scoring is sort of
- 42:08Speaker 14: worthy of this. I think, well, I disagreed Liz what
- 42:11Speaker 14: are your thoughts. I'm here is to try and identify
- 42:14Speaker 14: those ones.
- 42:15Speaker 3: Yeah, sure, you've got to identify the law breakers, and
- 42:18Speaker 3: about thirty odd have been arrested. But why wouldn't they
- 42:21Speaker 3: go further, Liz, when they saw those maniacs at the
- 42:24Speaker 3: Opera House never be prosecuted or charged over what they
- 42:27Speaker 3: were chanting there and celebrating the slaughter of Jews in
- 42:31Speaker 3: other suburbs when there's no action taken about that sort
- 42:34Speaker 3: of stuff and the other hateful protests we've seen in Melbourne.
- 42:37Speaker 2: Of course the protests will.
- 42:39Speaker 6: Escalate one percent. The protesters have been shown time and
- 42:42Speaker 6: time again, you will be shown you won't even get
- 42:45Speaker 6: a slap on the wrist, at least victorious. And in
- 42:49Speaker 6: the riot squad today, that's far more than we saw
- 42:51Speaker 6: happen at the Opera House. And I said, ad nauseum,
- 42:55Speaker 6: if you're not going to send in the riot squad at.
- 42:57Speaker 15: A time like that, why the heck do we even
- 42:59Speaker 15: have a.
- 42:59Speaker 5: Write a squad.
- 43:00Speaker 6: So these guys at least deployed the heavies, tried to
- 43:04Speaker 6: send a very strong message to these protesters. We won't
- 43:07Speaker 6: know whether they received that message until we see what
- 43:10Speaker 6: happens tomorrow.
- 43:11Speaker 3: Well let's go to something that is more like happy news.
- 43:14Speaker 3: To me, it's not even news at all, but I
- 43:16Speaker 3: know some.
- 43:16Speaker 2: People will be happy about it.
- 43:18Speaker 16: The Queen and the King, Queen Camiller and King Charles
- 43:22Speaker 16: are definitely coming out here next month, justin a sort
- 43:25Speaker 16: of a small visit Sydney and Canberra only really because
- 43:30Speaker 16: the King has been crook Batlan cancer.
- 43:34Speaker 2: It's good news that's happening.
- 43:35Speaker 3: I suppose it was in doubt there for a while
- 43:37Speaker 3: with his illness, and it'll be his first time here
- 43:40Speaker 3: of course as the reigning monarch.
- 43:43Speaker 14: Look it will sort of be good to see him
- 43:45Speaker 14: in part. But that's not a real royal tour of Australia.
- 43:48Speaker 14: I mean, just going to Sydney and Canberra. I mean
- 43:50Speaker 14: it's like going to America and just going to Disneyland
- 43:53Speaker 14: and saying, if you've seen all.
- 43:54Speaker 3: Of them, well, I think you said, I think Sydney Cambra,
- 43:59Speaker 3: I think.
- 43:59Speaker 2: That I think is the best cities.
- 44:02Speaker 3: I think they've both seen plenty of Australia in the past.
- 44:05Speaker 3: But I wouldn't be doing Sydney and Canberra. If I
- 44:07Speaker 3: came to to Australia, I'd do Sydney and Noosa or something.
- 44:13Speaker 6: Well, this is interesting, right because we're told that his
- 44:16Speaker 6: focus is going to be a climate change emergency while
- 44:19Speaker 6: he's this is something that he loves to pontificate on.
- 44:23Speaker 5: But I'd love to know how.
- 44:25Speaker 15: Many in his entourage are flying over from halfway across
- 44:29Speaker 15: the world, since three percent of global emissions, while we're
- 44:36Speaker 15: all sucking on our soggy straws and paying extortion and
- 44:39Speaker 15: energy price, now comes the king.
- 44:42Speaker 6: Honestly, I couldn't care less about what these flogs do,
- 44:45Speaker 6: but they are coming, and good on him for trying
- 44:48Speaker 6: to do something while he is still very obviously quite unwell.
- 44:53Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, no.
- 44:54Speaker 3: He can't come here and talk about climate changes, just
- 44:58Speaker 3: here to smile and shake hands.
- 45:00Speaker 5: I'm sorry to break it to you.
- 45:02Speaker 3: Look at trouble is. I've got to read some of
- 45:03Speaker 3: these royal stories. I didn't know that, honestly. But he's
- 45:06Speaker 3: going to come out here and he's going to talk
- 45:07Speaker 3: to some of our xantharias, I hope, and see what
- 45:10Speaker 3: they think about climate change. Speaking of climate change, Zarly
- 45:14Speaker 3: Stagel and the tills they reckon. We've got to cut
- 45:16Speaker 3: of missions by seventy five percent by twenty thirty five.
- 45:20Speaker 3: They are as rabbit and as green as the Greens,
- 45:23Speaker 3: aren't they?
- 45:24Speaker 14: Justin I look, I know I'm not sure about that
- 45:28Speaker 14: target because it does seem to me a little on.
- 45:30Speaker 2: The little, a little shape the country down.
- 45:33Speaker 14: You what, Sorry, it was just a little under a
- 45:37Speaker 14: little a little Melbourne understatement. Look, why can we not
- 45:42Speaker 14: be why can we not be leaders in the world
- 45:45Speaker 14: on this? I know that you two all we are.
- 45:47Speaker 14: We are leaders, So we don't drop enough carry.
- 45:50Speaker 6: We don't want to lead more than we already are.
- 45:52Speaker 2: Think we're heeping. Well, we're already world leaders.
- 45:55Speaker 3: That's why our electoracy prices are so hi unbelievable. You've
- 46:00Speaker 3: got to build a cat here. You vote till you're
- 46:02Speaker 3: voting green. Whether they're talking about Israel, where they're.
- 46:05Speaker 2: Talking about climate change.
- 46:07Speaker 3: Where they're talking about indigenous claims on the mining projects,
- 46:11Speaker 3: they are in lockstep.
- 46:13Speaker 6: And we have to take these guys seriously now because
- 46:15Speaker 6: we're looking at the very real possibility of a hung
- 46:18Speaker 6: parliament where everyone's asking, oh, you know, would the government
- 46:21Speaker 6: do a deal with the tills?
- 46:23Speaker 3: All the Greens.
- 46:24Speaker 6: Who's to say they wouldn't do a deal with both
- 46:26Speaker 6: if that's what it came to in order to hold
- 46:29Speaker 6: onto power. But the tills are really counting their chickens
- 46:31Speaker 6: here because we've only seen them go to one election.
- 46:34Speaker 6: Yes they did remarkably well, but will be four years
- 46:38Speaker 6: from that and right now they're better known for nothing
- 46:41Speaker 6: more than doing very precious little, than barking nonsense like
- 46:45Speaker 6: this from the sidelines and not actually getting it a
- 46:48Speaker 6: lot done at all.
- 46:49Speaker 2: We are nearly out of time.
- 46:50Speaker 3: I want to give both of you a quick say
- 46:52Speaker 3: on the big debate. Let's see what each of the
- 46:55Speaker 3: candidates had to say on immigration.
- 46:58Speaker 4: They've destroyed the fabrick of our country, millions of people
- 47:02Speaker 4: let in and all over the world. Crime is down
- 47:06Speaker 4: all over the world except here. Crime here is up
- 47:08Speaker 4: and through the roof, and we have a.
- 47:10Speaker 8: New form of crime.
- 47:11Speaker 4: It's called migrant crime, and it's happening at levels that
- 47:14Speaker 4: nobody thought possibility.
- 47:16Speaker 9: I think this is so rich coming from someone who
- 47:20Speaker 9: has been prosecuted for national security crimes, economic crimes, election interference,
- 47:29Speaker 9: has been found lible for sexual assault, and his next
- 47:33Speaker 9: big court appearance is in November at his own criminal sentencing.
- 47:38Speaker 9: And let's be clear where each person stands on the
- 47:42Speaker 9: issue of what is important about respect for the rule
- 47:46Speaker 9: of law and respect for law enforcement.
- 47:49Speaker 2: I've had my saye on this.
- 47:50Speaker 3: We've only got a minute left, thirty seconds. Ahu, First, justin,
- 47:53Speaker 3: what did you think of the whole shipe?
- 47:56Speaker 2: Look?
- 47:56Speaker 14: I would have wouldn't have minded seeing a little bit
- 47:58Speaker 14: more of a punchop. I thought Kamala Harris was the
- 48:01Speaker 14: one who won it. She looked like she did a
- 48:04Speaker 14: pretty good job, but she was incredibly weak on guns.
- 48:07Speaker 14: I was so disappointed in what she said on guns.
- 48:09Speaker 14: But as usual, the Orange criminal gave his supporters plenty
- 48:15Speaker 14: of lies to pass on and repeat that.
- 48:20Speaker 6: Look, Kamala, Kamala did nothing but lie and didn't get
- 48:24Speaker 6: a single fact check, unlike the fact checker that never
- 48:27Speaker 6: let up on Trump and going viral.
- 48:30Speaker 5: Now is the fact.
- 48:31Speaker 6: Checks on his fact checks? It turned out to be
- 48:33Speaker 6: absolute lies. But the takeaway from this is nothing has changed.
- 48:38Speaker 6: Everyone who is voting Democrat still sees Kamala as Oh,
- 48:42Speaker 6: she eviscerated Trump. All the Republicans or those voting republic
- 48:46Speaker 6: just saw a three on one in which Trump did
- 48:49Speaker 6: remarkably well holding onto his own. The big question now
- 48:52Speaker 6: it's who the heck is Kamala because she just told
- 48:55Speaker 6: everyone she's a gun carrying fracking supporter.
- 48:59Speaker 2: Now we did a bit of that. We're right out
- 49:01Speaker 2: of time your spot on. There'll be a lot of
- 49:02Speaker 2: follow up on that.
- 49:03Speaker 3: I thought it was fascinating and no doubt she did
- 49:06Speaker 3: better than many thought.
- 49:07Speaker 2: But I think maybe it might not shift the dial.
- 49:09Speaker 2: We shall see.
- 49:10Speaker 3: That's all the time we got for you today, Thanks
- 49:12Speaker 3: so much to Justin and Liz. Caleb Bond is up
- 49:14Speaker 3: in a moment filling in for Peter Kreedlin.
- 49:16Speaker 2: I'll see you tomorrow.
