- 0:00Speaker 1: Hello, hello, hello, hello, hello, hello, hello. Welcome to the
- 0:03Speaker 1: Naughty But Nice Show. I'm your host, Rob Shooter. And
- 0:06Speaker 1: it is Monday, which means our dear friend Garrett Vogel
- 0:08Speaker 1: joins us. Hey, Garrett, are you there?
- 0:10Speaker 2: Rob Shooter, how do you find the time to just
- 0:13Speaker 2: do this podcast? I mean, you're an author. You're a
- 0:15Speaker 2: YouTuber now. I mean, you're a socialite. I mean, where
- 0:20Speaker 2: do you find the time for us? Thank you for
- 0:21Speaker 2: making time for us naughties each and every day. I
- 0:24Speaker 2: do appreciate you. How are you?
- 0:26Speaker 1: This is the only thing I actually do make time for.
- 0:28Speaker 1: This is the only thing that I really, really care about.
- 0:31Speaker 1: The rest is a lot of nonsense, a lot of fun.
- 0:34Speaker 1: But this is a lot of fun, and it's really
- 0:36Speaker 1: quite meaningful to me as well. It's amazing. It's our baby. Yeah,
- 0:39Speaker 1: it really is. How it started just as a little
- 0:41Speaker 1: tiny thing, and now it's become something quite extraordinary, and
- 0:45Speaker 1: I love doing it, and I love gossiping. So waking
- 0:48Speaker 1: up with you guys every single morning, it's my joy. Okay,
- 0:51Speaker 1: let's jump into the show. What time is it, my friend?
- 0:54Speaker 2: Tea time.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Tea time. Big story at the top of the show.
- 0:58Speaker 1: So Meghan Markle is now regretting ever revealing that 2019
- 1:01Speaker 1: letter that is about her father, as her story now
- 1:06Speaker 1: is getting very, very complicated. Some people say it's even
- 1:09Speaker 1: falling apart. So Megan is regretting introducing into the conversation
- 1:15Speaker 1: an unknown 2019 letter that now has more questions about her,
- 1:21Speaker 1: her father, and what she intended to do. So we
- 1:24Speaker 1: do know over the weekend... The Sunday Times, a fancy,
- 1:29Speaker 1: fancy newspaper in Britain, have received this letter. And now
- 1:33Speaker 1: they're describing it. It was seven pages. It was rambling.
- 1:38Speaker 1: It was disorganized. It's one of those letters that unfortunately
- 1:43Speaker 1: is part of our culture. We've seen this with Savannah
- 1:45Speaker 1: Guffrey's mom, that lots of people sent letters and really accusations,
- 1:52Speaker 1: most of which were fake. I, as a reporter, I
- 1:56Speaker 1: get these letters regularly. All the time. I got one
- 1:58Speaker 1: this morning about Adam Levine. None of it is true,
- 2:01Speaker 1: but it is a long, almost, dare I say, YouTube
- 2:04Speaker 1: bomber type letter. We call them in our business either
- 2:08Speaker 1: green ink or red letter letters. And what it means
- 2:12Speaker 1: is they're normally written in green ink or red ink.
- 2:15Speaker 1: And they go on and on and on, and they
- 2:16Speaker 1: weren't just.
- 2:17Speaker 2: They used one of those clicky pens with, like, five different.
- 2:19Speaker 1: They do, and it's people who have severe mental health
- 2:23Speaker 1: issues who are angry with probably the government or a person,
- 2:26Speaker 1: an individual, maybe the monarchy, and they send these letters.
- 2:29Speaker 1: It does so happen that now maybe it hasn't been
- 2:33Speaker 1: proven yet, but one point, one paragraph of this letter
- 2:37Speaker 1: might have unfortunately turned out to be true. We're still
- 2:40Speaker 1: figuring that out. The police are still investigating. Oh, my goodness.
- 2:43Speaker 1: So when Meghan received this letter... When the police received
- 2:46Speaker 1: this letter, they just thought it was nonsense. They thought
- 2:49Speaker 1: it was just a rambling, silly, rubbish, great British word,
- 2:53Speaker 1: rubbish letter. Now, this is where Meghan gets in a
- 2:56Speaker 1: little bit of deep water. When her brother, her stepbrother,
- 3:00Speaker 1: accused her father of having child pornography, Meghan could have
- 3:04Speaker 1: just put out a statement saying, this breaks my heart.
- 3:08Speaker 1: this is very, very serious and my thoughts are with
- 3:11Speaker 1: the children. She could have just done that. She didn't.
- 3:14Speaker 1: She added this letter that we did not know about.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Nobody had mentioned. The press didn't know. Meghan brought this
- 3:20Speaker 1: letter up. And now she's going to answer serious questions.
- 3:23Speaker 1: If she broke up her relationship with her father in 2019...
- 3:29Speaker 1: because she thought he was sexually abusing children, then why
- 3:33Speaker 1: did she do nothing else? Why did she just let
- 3:36Speaker 1: this letter just sort of linger for all those years?
- 3:39Speaker 1: So this story now is getting a little bit tricky.
- 3:42Speaker 1: The reason that I think this story is so important
- 3:44Speaker 1: to us noughties is often when you reveal too much,
- 3:49Speaker 1: when you try to be a bit spiteful, let me
- 3:51Speaker 1: be honest here, we've had our ups and downs with Megan,
- 3:54Speaker 1: but one of the reasons, if not the main reason,
- 3:57Speaker 1: that she brought up this letter... was not to help children,
- 4:00Speaker 1: was not to defend herself, but was to blame the media.
- 4:04Speaker 1: She now is using this letter as a reason that
- 4:07Speaker 1: she hasn't spoken to her dad in a very long time.
- 4:10Speaker 1: And even in the letter, she says, the press out
- 4:13Speaker 1: there have painted a narrative that I abandoned my dad. Well,
- 4:17Speaker 1: now you know why. Shame on you. So I think
- 4:20Speaker 1: while you were trying to score a point here, Megan,
- 4:23Speaker 1: You actually hurt yourself. And I've done this. I've tried
- 4:25Speaker 1: to score points to be mean, to be a little
- 4:29Speaker 1: bit pushy, a little bit edgy, to defend myself, to
- 4:32Speaker 1: play the victim. I've done that. And often it explodes.
- 4:35Speaker 1: It makes the whole conversation, which should be about her dad.
- 4:39Speaker 1: Megan has not abused children. It's about her dad potentially
- 4:43Speaker 1: abusing children. And now she's given us all an opening
- 4:46Speaker 1: because she pointed a finger at us to actually point
- 4:50Speaker 1: one back. What do you think?
- 4:52Speaker 2: Remember when it was just you know so quiet we're
- 4:54Speaker 2: like i wonder what megan and harry are up to
- 4:56Speaker 2: you know and then all of a sudden over the
- 4:58Speaker 2: last what a month and change it's it's been it's
- 5:01Speaker 2: been nothing but them you know like like go back
- 5:04Speaker 2: to where you were a couple weeks ago you know
- 5:06Speaker 2: where you're just you know living your life.
- 5:09Speaker 1: It's so interesting they've turned the the volume up there
- 5:11Speaker 1: and i'm told i've seen celebrities do this when i
- 5:14Speaker 1: worked with jessica simpson She'd broken up with Nick Lachey,
- 5:17Speaker 1: and she was on the cover of Us Weekly every week.
- 5:18Speaker 1: She loved it.
- 5:19Speaker 2: Right.
- 5:20Speaker 1: She said she didn't like it, and she said that
- 5:22Speaker 1: she wanted privacy, and she said, they have to just
- 5:25Speaker 1: leave me alone. When they left her alone, like now,
- 5:27Speaker 1: they're miserable. They really do thrive.
- 5:29Speaker 2: It's such a weird world.
- 5:30Speaker 1: It's a weird... J-Lo. J-Lo loved all the attention. I
- 5:34Speaker 1: remember being with Jennifer once, and she was everywhere when
- 5:36Speaker 1: she broke up with Ben, part one. I was working
- 5:38Speaker 1: with her at the time. And Jennifer, I said, I
- 5:42Speaker 1: just don't know how you can... live like this, and
- 5:44Speaker 1: she was perfectly fine. She actually sort of loved... What
- 5:47Speaker 1: do you mean?
- 5:48Speaker 2: This isn't normal.
- 5:49Speaker 1: And I think that need for attention you create. So
- 5:54Speaker 1: it goes both ways. You could say, leave Megan alone.
- 5:58Speaker 1: But then if you do say that, then Megan needs
- 6:02Speaker 1: to leave us alone too. And they're not being very
- 6:05Speaker 1: good at that. They thrive on attention. Unfortunately, this is
- 6:09Speaker 1: not good attention either. But, you know, those friends, those
- 6:13Speaker 1: drama queen friends that we all have that pretend they're
- 6:16Speaker 1: being persecuted and everyone's out to get them.
- 6:19Speaker 2: Is Meghan our drama queen friend?
- 6:20Speaker 1: I fear that that's where we might be with Meghan,
- 6:24Speaker 1: which brings us to our poll question of the day.
- 6:27Speaker 1: Meghan Markle now has regrets ever revealing this 2019 sort
- 6:32Speaker 1: of red herring letter. It doesn't really mean very much.
- 6:35Speaker 1: It was a long rambling letter. We will get to
- 6:38Speaker 1: see this letter. This letter will be printed at some point.
- 6:40Speaker 1: I know two journalists who have got a copy of
- 6:42Speaker 1: this letter. So sooner or later, we're going to see
- 6:44Speaker 1: this letter. And her story now appears to be falling
- 6:47Speaker 1: apart a little bit. Should she have just said nothing
- 6:51Speaker 1: about the letter? Just put out a statement. I'm heartbroken.
- 6:55Speaker 1: I'm disgusted. My thoughts are with the children. You didn't
- 6:59Speaker 1: need to bring this up. What do you think? Go
- 7:01Speaker 1: vote on our X page at Naughty Nice Rob. Our
- 7:05Speaker 1: Facebook page is Naughty Gossip. I'll be sure to check
- 7:08Speaker 1: back tomorrow to hear your results. Hey, Garrett, what are
- 7:11Speaker 1: you working on?
- 7:11Speaker 2: More family drama, but on this side of the pond,
- 7:14Speaker 2: let's just say. So, Dolly Parton, who has left us
- 7:17Speaker 2: a couple months now, it seems like After she left,
- 7:20Speaker 2: all the family decided to just start going after each
- 7:23Speaker 2: other and the states going back and forth. Well, Dolly's
- 7:26Speaker 2: nephew is defending defends his sister after she was fired
- 7:29Speaker 2: from the family museum, because once Dolly passed away, the
- 7:32Speaker 2: estate war just turned on going. I'm in charge. I'm
- 7:35Speaker 2: in charge. No, you're in charge. So the family, the
- 7:37Speaker 2: family feud surrounding Dolly Parton's empire is getting so much messier.
- 7:41Speaker 2: It feels like almost day in and day out, just
- 7:43Speaker 2: like the Harry and Meghan situation, you know. But her nephew,
- 7:47Speaker 2: Brian Seaver, insists there is no war between the relatives, which,
- 7:51Speaker 2: let's be honest, there is. Let's read between the lines.
- 7:54Speaker 2: Brian has publicly defended his sister, Rebecca, after she was
- 7:58Speaker 2: fired from her managerial role overseeing Dolly's archive and museum operations,
- 8:03Speaker 2: along with her entire staff. So the people that were
- 8:06Speaker 2: in charge of the estate, once Dolly passed, they're like, well,
- 8:08Speaker 2: she's no longer here, so let's clean house and start
- 8:11Speaker 2: from the beginning. That's what it feels like to me.
- 8:12Speaker 2: But Brian said, I'm very proud of my sister Rebecca
- 8:16Speaker 2: and her endeavors building Dolly's archive and museum that he
- 8:19Speaker 2: wrote on Facebook. But the family tension comes as Brian himself,
- 8:23Speaker 2: he's looking at this bitter legal battle over the team
- 8:27Speaker 2: managing Dolly's estate, which has nothing to do with the family.
- 8:30Speaker 2: They're kind of like an outside source of it. And
- 8:33Speaker 2: he's previously fired from the security role over the alleged
- 8:36Speaker 2: threatening text messages which he insists were taken out of context, which,
- 8:39Speaker 2: you know, I think we've all sent one of those
- 8:41Speaker 2: type of texts, and it's been read the wrong way.
- 8:44Speaker 2: But it's so interesting to see Dolly's legacy becoming very
- 8:49Speaker 2: more personal than when she was alive, because if Dolly
- 8:54Speaker 2: was alive, I guarantee we will not have heard or
- 8:57Speaker 2: seen any of this.
- 8:59Speaker 1: No, it wouldn't have happened. So big picture what's going
- 9:01Speaker 1: on here is this, Nephew, who was the head of
- 9:04Speaker 1: security for a long time, Brian, is a problem. He's
- 9:06Speaker 1: been very difficult to work with. And Dolly always turned
- 9:10Speaker 1: a blind eye. He was family. He was her nephew.
- 9:12Speaker 1: But everybody on the staff knew he was an issue.
- 9:15Speaker 1: Now I feel as if his sister is being punished too.
- 9:18Speaker 1: So his sister had this job that is hard to describe.
- 9:22Speaker 1: And I think what Dolly did is she gave a
- 9:24Speaker 1: lot of her family members jobs that didn't really exist.
- 9:28Speaker 1: They were jobs for family. And I get that. I
- 9:31Speaker 1: know people who have family businesses too and their husband's
- 9:35Speaker 1: daughter and their stepsister and their cousin runs the fan
- 9:39Speaker 1: club and the R-Devil is answering the letters and this
- 9:42Speaker 1: one's doing merchandising. But they're not really doing it. They're
- 9:46Speaker 1: just being given jobs. I might do that if I
- 9:48Speaker 1: was super successful like Dolly Parton. I think I'd have
- 9:50Speaker 1: a ton of people on my payroll who did very little. Well,
- 9:53Speaker 1: now that Dolly's gone, there's no reason for these people
- 9:57Speaker 1: to keep their jobs. The estate now is a business.
- 10:01Speaker 1: It is a where their primary focus is, is making
- 10:05Speaker 1: a profit and making this successful. And they're cutting all
- 10:08Speaker 1: the dead wood and a lot of the dead wood. Unfortunately,
- 10:12Speaker 1: it's family, and that's something Dolly wouldn't have let happen.
- 10:15Speaker 1: Dolly made so much money, she was quite happy to
- 10:18Speaker 1: pay the family off. Now, the part of this that
- 10:20Speaker 1: doesn't make any sense to me, though, is the more
- 10:23Speaker 1: profitable the estate is, the more money the family makes.
- 10:27Speaker 1: It's like the Michael Jackson estate. The people running the estate,
- 10:31Speaker 1: they don't get all the profits. They get a fee.
- 10:33Speaker 1: So the people that turned the Michael Jackson estate into
- 10:36Speaker 1: a massive billion-dollar empire... They get a fee, but do
- 10:39Speaker 1: you know who gets that billion? The kids. So the
- 10:43Speaker 1: family here, you don't have to work anymore. You don't
- 10:45Speaker 1: even have to pretend to work anymore. Sit back, let
- 10:49Speaker 1: the experts run it, let them cut all the deadwood,
- 10:52Speaker 1: let them make this a lean machine that can live
- 10:56Speaker 1: on for decades. We don't want the park closing because
- 10:59Speaker 1: of bad management. We don't want Dolly's legacy being tarnished
- 11:03Speaker 1: because people can't add up on a balance sheet. So
- 11:07Speaker 1: I'm told here that the A state of being business people,
- 11:10Speaker 1: which is what they were paid to do. And the
- 11:12Speaker 1: family is a little resentful. OK, moving along. This broke
- 11:16Speaker 1: my heart. So Savannah Guffrey is once again begging for help,
- 11:19Speaker 1: saying we cannot move forward without any answers. I cannot
- 11:22Speaker 1: imagine what this family is going through. It's another heartbreaking
- 11:26Speaker 1: public appeal for information about her missing mommy, Nancy, admitting
- 11:30Speaker 1: that the family cannot move forward. They need to have
- 11:33Speaker 1: some answers here. She shared a painting by her daughter.
- 11:36Speaker 1: It's a beautiful painting. featuring the words, I know it
- 11:40Speaker 1: might not seem like it, but I really need my mummy. Oh,
- 11:45Speaker 1: my goodness. Savannah said the following. We ache for her.
- 11:49Speaker 1: We cry out for answers, and we cannot move forward.
- 11:52Speaker 1: We need someone to help us. Tell us what you know.
- 11:54Speaker 1: There is somebody out there that knows something. Savannah's reminding everybody, too,
- 11:59Speaker 1: that there is a substantial reward still on offer. Nancy
- 12:03Speaker 1: went missing on February 1. Think about that. It's now
- 12:06Speaker 1: November 1. February 1, no suspects have been publicly named.
- 12:11Speaker 1: I hope this isn't a cold case, Garrett, but this
- 12:13Speaker 1: is not looking good.
- 12:15Speaker 2: It isn't. And, you know, it's one of those things
- 12:18Speaker 2: where you want closure, but it's also, for me at
- 12:21Speaker 2: least as a viewer watching the Today Show, like, you know,
- 12:24Speaker 2: Savannah trying to just put on a normal life and,
- 12:28Speaker 2: you know, they dressed up on Friday for Halloween, right?
- 12:31Speaker 2: But in my mind, I'm seeing, like, She's going through some, like,
- 12:34Speaker 2: for me, I wouldn't be able to, like, just put on.
- 12:36Speaker 1: I couldn't do it.
- 12:37Speaker 2: I couldn't work.
- 12:38Speaker 1: I've stopped watching The Today Show because of this. It
- 12:39Speaker 1: sounds terrible. I don't want to punish Savannah.
- 12:42Speaker 2: No, no, no, but I think we agree.
- 12:43Speaker 1: It's just too heartbreaking. It's weird. Yeah, it's weird, and
- 12:46Speaker 1: it's so, and there's no answers. We just don't know.
- 12:49Speaker 1: I think we all know, and even Savannah has said
- 12:52Speaker 1: this now. We know the answer. We know that this
- 12:54Speaker 1: is not good. We've come to that conclusion. After this
- 12:57Speaker 1: amount of time, a woman her age who needed medicine,
- 12:59Speaker 1: it's just now not looking very hopeful. But I think
- 13:03Speaker 1: you still want to know the final details. What happened?
- 13:06Speaker 1: Where is she? They want to bring her home.
- 13:08Speaker 2: I think so as well. But I think the family,
- 13:11Speaker 2: just for the sake of closing this for not just themselves,
- 13:15Speaker 2: but for the world, pretty much, they need to come
- 13:18Speaker 2: out and say, hey, we understand our mom most likely
- 13:22Speaker 2: is not with us anymore. And, you know, I think
- 13:26Speaker 2: once they say that too, everybody else can be like,
- 13:30Speaker 2: they're saying it, we could say it as well, and
- 13:32Speaker 2: we can kind of move forward. It feels like we're
- 13:34Speaker 2: stuck in this weird, weird, you know, atmosphere you know
- 13:38Speaker 2: situation until they speak up um but you know and
- 13:42Speaker 2: i get it you know it's family and you want
- 13:43Speaker 2: answers and i just don't think we're ever going to
- 13:46Speaker 2: find an answer.
- 13:46Speaker 1: I think you're right follow their lead okay remember neverland
- 13:49Speaker 1: remember michael jackson's ranch. Very controversial place. Well, now his
- 13:54Speaker 1: sons have an idea of what to actually do with it.
- 13:57Speaker 1: What do they think we should be doing?
- 14:00Speaker 2: Well, they want it restored, Rob, back to its original purpose.
- 14:03Speaker 2: Jokes aside, when Michael started Neverland Ranch, it was to
- 14:06Speaker 2: help sick children, which, if you see the pictures, it
- 14:10Speaker 2: was kind of, it was almost like a dream scenario
- 14:13Speaker 2: where you think, like, hey, this, it's almost like Santa's workshop,
- 14:18Speaker 2: you know? Like, all the fun things are going on, animals, circus, games, toys,
- 14:23Speaker 2: and for his children to speak up and say, hey,
- 14:26Speaker 2: we want to bring happiness to sick and disadvantaged children again.
- 14:30Speaker 2: They would love for this property to be preserved and
- 14:33Speaker 2: used in a way that honors both their dad and
- 14:38Speaker 2: the children that deserve and need the opportunity to enjoy
- 14:44Speaker 2: something in their life. So Prince, who co-founded Heal Los
- 14:47Speaker 2: Angeles Foundation, is very passionate about this, and he's saying
- 14:52Speaker 2: that the family is on board to do this, and
- 14:55Speaker 2: the brothers have no ownership of the property, though, so
- 14:58Speaker 2: that's the problem, which the businessman who purchased the property
- 15:02Speaker 2: for $ 22 million back in 2020, which is crazy, says
- 15:06Speaker 2: he's welcome to charitable events at the estate and continue
- 15:10Speaker 2: to allow Michael's family to visit, which sounds okay, but
- 15:14Speaker 2: at the end of the day, let's... You know, you
- 15:17Speaker 2: made a lot of money. You could probably make even
- 15:19Speaker 2: more money. And I think the guy who owns the
- 15:22Speaker 2: land is just looking for, you know, probably double his
- 15:25Speaker 2: return on the $ 22 million, unfortunately. But I think at
- 15:28Speaker 2: the end of the day, as we just spoke, Michael's
- 15:30Speaker 2: family has made a lot of money. I think pay
- 15:33Speaker 2: whatever the guy wants, take over the land, and bring
- 15:36Speaker 2: it back to what you want to do to help
- 15:38Speaker 2: sick children.
- 15:38Speaker 1: Yeah, I hear you. I think it's such a controversial place.
- 15:41Speaker 1: And I know we say jokes aside, but it's also serious.
- 15:45Speaker 1: allegations that have never been proven. We have to point
- 15:48Speaker 1: that out. I think that the kids here, if they
- 15:49Speaker 1: want to honor their dad's legacy, sick children don't care
- 15:53Speaker 1: if they're at that ranch or a ranch down the road.
- 15:55Speaker 1: Buy a new piece of property. Buy somewhere neutral. Spend
- 15:59Speaker 1: all the money.
- 16:00Speaker 2: Imagine buying your own house. Like, imagine your family house.
- 16:03Speaker 2: You have the opportunity to go back and buy the
- 16:05Speaker 2: house that you grew up in personally, Rob. Would you
- 16:08Speaker 2: do that? Or would you buy some other house and say, oh,
- 16:10Speaker 2: this is kind of a replica of my house?
- 16:12Speaker 1: If my family house had accusations of child abuse, I
- 16:15Speaker 1: would not buy it. And there are accusations. And I
- 16:18Speaker 1: know they have not been proven, but it makes this
- 16:20Speaker 1: story very complicated. Michael Jackson, it was just Halloween. Michael
- 16:24Speaker 1: Jackson's a very, very controversial figure in pretending... That is not,
- 16:28Speaker 1: I don't think, a good idea. So, OK, we're going
- 16:30Speaker 1: to take a quick break and we will be right back.
- 16:34Speaker 1: Welcome back to the Naughty But Nice Show. I'm your host,
- 16:37Speaker 1: Rob Schroeder, my dear friend, Gareth Vogel. Hey, let's get
- 16:39Speaker 1: to the polls. Last show we talked about Meghan and
- 16:43Speaker 1: Harry are devastated by their plummeting popularity. There's a new
- 16:46Speaker 1: poll out in Britain. Meghan's only about 20% and this
- 16:49Speaker 1: is the part that really hurts. The numbers have gone
- 16:52Speaker 1: down since they returned. So since they've come back, And
- 16:55Speaker 1: they've been shaking hands. They did an event in Nottingham. People,
- 16:58Speaker 1: a very successful event. People assumed, I assumed, oh my goodness,
- 17:01Speaker 1: maybe they're going to make a go of this. Maybe
- 17:04Speaker 1: this could work. The numbers have plummeted. Will they be
- 17:06Speaker 1: gone in six months? Will they stick this out? 80%
- 17:10Speaker 1: said yes, they will be out of there. I think
- 17:11Speaker 1: you're probably right. Hey, don't forget to vote on today's poll.
- 17:15Speaker 1: Go to our X page at Naughty Nice Rob. Our
- 17:17Speaker 1: Facebook page is Naughty Gossip. And be sure to check
- 17:22Speaker 1: back tomorrow to hear your results announced. Oh, it's time
- 17:26Speaker 1: for our nicest of the day.
- 17:29Speaker 2: I don't know if it's because we're getting older, Rob,
- 17:32Speaker 2: or just it's one of those parts of life where
- 17:34Speaker 2: you hear these actors and you're like, oh, wow. It
- 17:38Speaker 2: doesn't feel like their career might just be completely over.
- 17:42Speaker 2: But Michael Douglas was talking about... The silence on Jack Nicholson.
- 17:48Speaker 2: Everybody's wondering, where did Jack Nicholson go? You don't see
- 17:50Speaker 2: him at the Laker game. You don't see him at movies.
- 17:52Speaker 2: You don't see him at premieres. But it may feel
- 17:55Speaker 2: like he has vanished. But Michael Douglas, being his longtime friend,
- 17:58Speaker 2: says he's perfectly fine. So think about this. I'm going
- 18:02Speaker 2: to say Michael Douglas, 82, which is crazy to think in,
- 18:05Speaker 2: I think, as you're listening to it. And I'm sure
- 18:08Speaker 2: a lot of people are like, he's 82? Wow. Well,
- 18:11Speaker 2: so Michael Douglas said while he was promoting his memoir
- 18:14Speaker 2: over in Wales. How close are you by Wales?
- 18:16Speaker 1: Wales, pretty close. That's where Catherine Zeta-Jones is from. Oh,
- 18:19Speaker 1: there we go. That makes sense.
- 18:21Speaker 2: But he revealed that Jack Nicholson, who's 89 years old,
- 18:25Speaker 2: which is another crazy, he's not working anymore. He's well.
- 18:30Speaker 2: He has disappeared. I know that, but he pretty much
- 18:33Speaker 2: knows where he is. He added he still sees Jack
- 18:35Speaker 2: Nicholson and apparently spends his days relaxing near his home
- 18:39Speaker 2: and walking around in his slippers. I mean, let's be honest.
- 18:42Speaker 2: The man deserves it. He's 89 years old. He's done
- 18:44Speaker 2: so much. And he hasn't appeared in a movie, which
- 18:47Speaker 2: is crazy to think, since 2010. Wow.
- 18:49Speaker 1: 16 years. Exactly.
- 18:52Speaker 2: He's made the occasional appearance here and there. But overall,
- 18:54Speaker 2: it's just crazy.
- 18:55Speaker 1: It's amazing. You're allowed to retire. You're allowed to disappear.
- 18:58Speaker 1: You have deserved it. My nicest of the day. And
- 19:00Speaker 1: now my naughtiest of the day. Martha Stewart has deleted
- 19:02Speaker 1: a tone-deaf Halloween costume post. So it got a lot
- 19:05Speaker 1: of backlash. She's a homeless person. At first, she defended it,
- 19:08Speaker 1: saying really stupidly, you know what, I was trying to
- 19:11Speaker 1: bring attention to a cause. Well, that didn't help. In fact,
- 19:14Speaker 1: it made it even worse. Now, Martha, just today has
- 19:18Speaker 1: put out another statement saying, it's hard to admit when
- 19:20Speaker 1: you're really screwed up. But my earlier statement did not
- 19:23Speaker 1: go far enough. I know many people who are suffering
- 19:26Speaker 1: economically wearing a costume like this. It is inexcusable and
- 19:31Speaker 1: it is not funny. Well, Martha finally got there. When
- 19:35Speaker 1: you apologise... Say sorry. The first apology was, I was
- 19:38Speaker 1: sorry if anybody was offended, which is not saying sorry.
- 19:42Speaker 1: It's something very different. Own it. Had Martha done this
- 19:45Speaker 1: right away, it wouldn't be the mess that it is today.
- 19:49Speaker 1: We all mess up. We're allowed to mess up. But
- 19:51Speaker 1: when you do, own it. Martha, you finally got there.
- 19:55Speaker 1: Let's end with a moment of rub. You get a rub,
- 19:58Speaker 1: you get a rub, you get a rub. Very important.
- 20:00Speaker 1: I hope Harry and Meghan are listening. The power of silence.
- 20:03Speaker 1: Sometimes the most important thing you can say is absolutely nothing.
- 20:07Speaker 1: You don't have to respond to every insult. You don't
- 20:10Speaker 1: have to defend every decision or explain yourself to people
- 20:14Speaker 1: who do not want to understand. Silence is not a weakness.
- 20:17Speaker 1: It's a discipline. It is choosing your peace over somebody
- 20:21Speaker 1: else's chaos. So stop giving people unlimited access to your energy.
- 20:26Speaker 1: Let your actions speak. Let time reveal the truth. And
- 20:31Speaker 1: let others sit with their own words. Remember, you don't
- 20:35Speaker 1: always need the last word. Sometimes walking away says everything. Okay,
- 20:41Speaker 1: that is it for today. Thank you so much for
- 20:45Speaker 1: listening to the Naughty But Nice with Rob and Garrett show,
- 20:47Speaker 1: a production of Elvis Duran and iHeartRadio. Check out my
- 20:49Speaker 1: sub stack at robshooter.substack.com. And in four weeks, my new
- 20:52Speaker 1: novel's out, Queen Elizabeth III. You can pre-order it now.
- 20:56Speaker 1: And remember, all together now, let me hear you singing along.
- 20:59Speaker 1: If you're going to be naughty, you gotta be nice.
- 21:03Speaker 1: Take care, everybody. Take care.
