- 0:43we got corey we got shanna
- 0:46we got ken in the chat
- 0:48already I do not know what
- 0:55the hillar quiz is but uh corey got an
- 1:00Huh.
- 1:01Interesting.
- 1:02Got Vicky, got Jake, Amanda, Jose.
- 1:07What's going on, everybody?
- 1:10All right.
- 1:13Aaron Fraser,
- 1:14I'm embarrassed about my fifty six.
- 1:16And I am really excited to take this quiz.
- 1:19I don't know what it is,
- 1:21but I got some appointments
- 1:21this afternoon,
- 1:22so it'll probably be this evening.
- 1:24I'll jump on that.
- 1:27So there we go.
- 1:29Um, what's going on everybody.
- 1:31I just, uh,
- 1:35I just watched the Savant
- 1:37podcast with Colton.
- 1:39Uh,
- 1:39Colton is one of my favorite people in
- 1:41the world.
- 1:42Uh, and,
- 1:43and he talked about something
- 1:44there that I just wanted to bring up.
- 1:48Um,
- 1:49that I thought was an interesting
- 1:50perspective as we've been
- 1:51talking about the WFP and maybe, um,
- 1:56increasing the amount of
- 1:57money they're going to pay the athletes.
- 2:00And Savon asked him some
- 2:01questions about that.
- 2:02Like, what does six figures mean?
- 2:05All of that kind of stuff.
- 2:06I'm going to throw a dart.
- 2:09Yeah, not good.
- 2:10And so...
- 2:14what I found interesting is
- 2:15his perspective.
- 2:17Like he felt like because of
- 2:20the type of person he is
- 2:21and the type of people,
- 2:22most CrossFit athletes are
- 2:24that they can make six figures anywhere.
- 2:27And that the money isn't the
- 2:33most important thing to him
- 2:35because he can do that on his own.
- 2:39He can go do another job.
- 2:42He can work, um,
- 2:45He can work another job.
- 2:46He can start a business.
- 2:48He can do other things to
- 2:49make six figures.
- 2:51But there's only one thing
- 2:52that gets him to be the
- 2:54fittest man on earth.
- 2:56And that drive for that
- 2:59competition and that title
- 3:01means more to him than
- 3:04whatever money is going to
- 3:06be thrown at him.
- 3:09So I ask you this.
- 3:13How many people do you think
- 3:17turn down the money because
- 3:20the title means more than
- 3:24whatever they're going to throw at them?
- 3:26And I'm going to tell you personally,
- 3:28that would be very hard.
- 3:29Yes,
- 3:30my initial goal would be to be the
- 3:32fittest on earth.
- 3:34But when someone's throwing money at you,
- 3:37that means you don't have
- 3:39to work and you can just
- 3:40focus on your trade.
- 3:46think that's really tough to
- 3:47say no to uh but abby domet
- 3:52apparently has said the
- 3:53same thing doesn't matter
- 3:55about the money it is she
- 3:57wants that title as well um
- 4:00so I think that there there
- 4:01are definitely people out
- 4:02there that can't be bought
- 4:04uh and that not in a bad
- 4:06way because I don't blame
- 4:07people for taking the money
- 4:09but people saying that
- 4:11they they don't want them
- 4:13the money doesn't mean as
- 4:14much to them as the title
- 4:19so uh esther serve everyone
- 4:24has a price uh me I turned
- 4:27it down good for you jake
- 4:30uh who let the cats out uh
- 4:34because colton has values
- 4:37ken walters as I said on the
- 4:39seven chat my best hires in
- 4:41my career for sales
- 4:42management positions were
- 4:43ex-college pro athletes and
- 4:45military never make a
- 4:46mistake uh abby's husband
- 4:49commented on the spin last
- 4:51night that the title means
- 4:53more than the money yeah I
- 4:55I think that's awesome is
- 5:00the exclusivity just to
- 5:02exclude the games season or
- 5:04is that rogue and other events too
- 5:06Again, Aaron, this was a rumor.
- 5:10As I said, a wild rumor.
- 5:14I heard it from a couple different places.
- 5:16But when you get rumors,
- 5:17you don't necessarily get a
- 5:18lot of detail.
- 5:22So, yeah.
- 5:24Yeah.
- 5:30Any of the top ten men from
- 5:31this year who could have
- 5:32feasibly won the games,
- 5:34is there any chance that
- 5:35they would turn down the
- 5:36potential next year?
- 5:38I don't know.
- 5:39I think it's what your priority is, right?
- 5:44Jake,
- 5:44I moved away from six figures to
- 5:46raise a family and homeschool.
- 5:49That's a massive decision, brother,
- 5:52and I commend you for that.
- 5:57at a zero to six figures
- 5:59well seven figures is a lot
- 6:02that's a lot as we
- 6:08mentioned yesterday there's
- 6:09only one place on earth
- 6:11that has a title fittest on
- 6:12earth my only thing is and
- 6:17and I guess if in playing
- 6:19this game we have to assume
- 6:21that there will be crossfit
- 6:22next year there will be a
- 6:24crossfit game season
- 6:26But all that is kind of
- 6:27unknown as well as we head
- 6:29into that with the sale and everything.
- 6:31We don't know what that means.
- 6:41Nice, Jake.
- 6:43We forge elite fitness.
- 6:44Others are forgeries of elite fitness.
- 6:49that brings me to um I was
- 6:51watching the spin last
- 6:52night and uh tyler went
- 6:56really academic on us but I
- 7:00wanted to share his little
- 7:04thing here so I took this
- 7:08from his um I took this
- 7:12from his presentation last night and
- 7:16And I think it did a good
- 7:17job kind of breaking down what,
- 7:22why CrossFit was successful.
- 7:25And I agree with most of what he said.
- 7:31I really do.
- 7:32Um, but he really,
- 7:34he kind of moved this into the sale.
- 7:39I want to look at this from a competitive,
- 7:42a competition standpoint.
- 7:44Right.
- 7:46So the way the CrossFit
- 7:47makes money is through
- 7:48affiliates and education.
- 7:49That's this top part up here.
- 7:52And then on the other side,
- 7:53the intelligence is the
- 7:55competitors and the media.
- 7:57That's how you get people to
- 7:58know about it out into the world.
- 8:01And then there's the
- 8:02religion aspect of it.
- 8:03which is the methodology and
- 8:06what you believe in.
- 8:07And then the Crusades is
- 8:10what he kind of explained
- 8:11to as the fight against sugar,
- 8:14those types of things, the soda wars,
- 8:17all of that that Greg took
- 8:20on in his time with CrossFit.
- 8:25And so if you think that
- 8:28this is the way that it was
- 8:30really exploding and
- 8:32CrossFit really took off,
- 8:34which I do believe,
- 8:36if you put World Fitness
- 8:38Project over top of this,
- 8:40there is no religion aspect
- 8:42to the World Fitness Project.
- 8:43It's just money.
- 8:47They are just for the athletes.
- 8:49It's the competitors in the media.
- 8:52And the media has not been awesome.
- 8:55And the competitors are.
- 8:57So you have about half of
- 8:59the intelligence.
- 9:01The finance does not come
- 9:03from anywhere but a,
- 9:06for lack of better term, a trust fund.
- 9:10And there is no religion to it.
- 9:12So it's missing a lot of aspects to...
- 9:18be successful if you believe
- 9:20that this is the roadmap to
- 9:22be successful in this kind of endeavor.
- 9:30Then you have Metfix,
- 9:32who doesn't have the
- 9:34competitors or the media,
- 9:38doesn't have the, well,
- 9:40has some affiliates and
- 9:42does some education,
- 9:43but they talk at a level
- 9:45that's really hard to understand.
- 9:49And then they are all about
- 9:50the religion and the crusade.
- 9:53I just don't think they're
- 9:54very good at getting us to
- 9:57understand the methodology.
- 10:00They have the crusade that
- 10:03they want to go after,
- 10:04but they're not telling us
- 10:06how to use that to help to
- 10:09benefit ourselves,
- 10:10for us to jump on board the crusade.
- 10:17So it's missing some big
- 10:18chunks to this wheel as well,
- 10:22where if you look at CrossFit,
- 10:24they've kind of lost their way.
- 10:26And I,
- 10:26but I think where they they've
- 10:28mostly lost their way is
- 10:30just in the religion aspect of it.
- 10:32We don't feel like there's some end there.
- 10:36They are out there fighting
- 10:37for us in a crusade type fashion anymore.
- 10:43Now,
- 10:44all of this marketing that's been
- 10:45coming out,
- 10:46it kind of leads down to a
- 10:48path of crusade because
- 10:51it's all the old taglines
- 10:53and all the stuff that Greg used.
- 10:57I think that's where
- 11:01CrossFit needs to take that
- 11:02next step and actually fight for
- 11:06for what they believe in
- 11:08they have to fight that
- 11:10they are the cure they have
- 11:12to fight against sugar they
- 11:14have to fight against all
- 11:15this stuff that's going on
- 11:17in the government as we
- 11:18speak we we can't accept
- 11:23make america healthy again
- 11:27and a dumbed down version
- 11:29of what that looks like so
- 11:37I thought it was interesting
- 11:38you brought this up.
- 11:39I just wanted to throw
- 11:40competition and the
- 11:42competitors against
- 11:43CrossFit into it and kind
- 11:45of look at where they're
- 11:46missing and where CrossFit
- 11:48is currently missing.
- 11:50CrossFit still has a lot of these aspects.
- 11:53The media is back.
- 11:55They have the competitors.
- 11:56They have the affiliates.
- 11:58They have the education.
- 12:00They have the methodology.
- 12:02They just need to get that
- 12:04one thing that binds us all
- 12:06together to crusade against again.
- 12:14And we don't have that right now.
- 12:20But the others are missing
- 12:21way more legs to these stools.
- 12:24That's for sure.
- 12:26thought tyler did a great
- 12:27job pulling this together I
- 12:29think it's a nice um visual
- 12:32of what um what what all
- 12:35this means and how the
- 12:36success happened um but so
- 12:39if you didn't see it last
- 12:40night on the spin go check
- 12:42that out very interesting
- 12:50ironically we are crusading
- 12:51for more people to get a
- 12:53salad in their diet
- 12:57Yeah,
- 13:01I think because we don't have that
- 13:03one pinpointed thing to crusade against,
- 13:07we are crusading against each other.
- 13:11We are crusading against Metfix.
- 13:14We're crusading against...
- 13:18WFP,
- 13:20we're just looking for people to
- 13:24crusade against because we
- 13:26don't have that joint item to go after.
- 13:40I missed a lot of stuff.
- 13:51in my gym there's nothing
- 13:52telling me open
- 13:53participation is going up
- 13:56yeah the finance segment is
- 14:10where the third party sit
- 14:11coaches congress best hour two brain
- 14:20Fergie,
- 14:20Metfix is what happens when you let
- 14:21academics run your messaging.
- 14:24Yeah, they are.
- 14:26They're lost.
- 14:35The game started as a lark
- 14:36between Greg and Dave to
- 14:37see who was the fittest.
- 14:39It grew into a monster and
- 14:40Greg felt it was becoming
- 14:41too much of the message.
- 14:43I don't disagree with that,
- 14:44but I do think it was an
- 14:45important part of the message.
- 14:49I don't think you need to eliminate it.
- 14:51I think you just need to put
- 14:52it in its proper place.
- 14:57And when it was a festival, it made sense.
- 15:00People coming together, people talking,
- 15:03people joining around a joint message.
- 15:07I think that was all good.
- 15:12Lose the festival and just
- 15:13make it a competition.
- 15:15That's where we've really
- 15:17fallen off in my opinion.
- 15:24But I think you could use
- 15:25that wheel as a risk assessment,
- 15:29looking at your competitors
- 15:31and what they're trying to
- 15:32do and what you are doing
- 15:34and how do you get better
- 15:35and how do you defend what
- 15:37they're bringing at you?
- 15:39I think that's how it could be used.
- 15:41And even another way.
- 15:52So while we're talking about the WFP,
- 15:54I'm getting a lot of
- 15:55comments that I said the
- 15:57word billions yesterday.
- 16:00And where am I getting billions?
- 16:04I'm telling you, it was a rumor.
- 16:06All of the facts that I have
- 16:07said were told to me.
- 16:10They were told to me that the the.
- 16:14Parents of Jackson Terry's wife,
- 16:18the Gillettes, Beth and Quentin,
- 16:21have a lot of money to give them.
- 16:24And it was quoted to me as billions.
- 16:27Now,
- 16:28if you go out and look at where they
- 16:31made their money,
- 16:32they owned a company called Power Grid.
- 16:35Power Grid is a company that
- 16:37kept power lines up and
- 16:39running and maintained.
- 16:44A majority of that company
- 16:47owned by the Gillette's was
- 16:49purchased in twenty twenty
- 16:50four for around two billion dollars.
- 16:54A majority of the company.
- 16:57There's not a lot of exact
- 16:59detail about what that majority is,
- 17:04but all of the executives,
- 17:06including the Gillette's,
- 17:08were retained to continue
- 17:10to grow the company.
- 17:13Forward.
- 17:16So a majority of the company
- 17:18was bought for two billion
- 17:20and they were retained to
- 17:22keep it going forward.
- 17:28So that is where the
- 17:29billions are coming from.
- 17:32Although I took it because
- 17:33it was quoted to me in the
- 17:35rumor by more than one
- 17:39person that they have billions of
- 17:44I haven't done a net worth
- 17:47evaluation of the Gillette's to find out.
- 17:52I just know they have a lot of money.
- 17:56They have sold their company
- 17:58for just a majority
- 18:00interest in their company
- 18:02for two billion.
- 18:04I don't know what else they
- 18:04have in their portfolio or
- 18:08what else they're doing.
- 18:12That is just what was quoted to me.
- 18:22two billion.
- 18:23So the money for WFP is
- 18:24chump change to them.
- 18:26That's what everybody is saying.
- 18:28Yes.
- 18:36Rich people don't typically
- 18:37throw money away unless
- 18:38they have an ax to grind.
- 18:41I think they believe what
- 18:42they are doing is going to be successful.
- 18:46Beth Gillette, the the mother and
- 18:51one of the rich people
- 18:52involved was a master's
- 18:53athlete with the CrossFit Games.
- 18:57I believe that her and her
- 18:59children believe that what
- 19:02they're doing is right and
- 19:05that they can make this successful.
- 19:07The way they're going about it,
- 19:08we may disagree with,
- 19:10but they believe it's right.
- 19:13And they're trying to create
- 19:14a company for their kids to run.
- 19:39Wasn't their motto in the seventies.
- 19:40I liked the company so much.
- 19:41I bought it.
- 19:42There you go.
- 19:50uh jenny coming in with the
- 19:51original sold the company
- 19:52for two hundred million
- 19:53they stayed on as
- 19:54shareholders and executives
- 19:56and now that the company
- 19:57has been acquired uh for
- 19:59two billion so we have a
- 20:05double sale I was trying to
- 20:07do all the research but I
- 20:08was busy at work this
- 20:09morning I was trying to dig
- 20:11all the pieces out um so
- 20:24Well,
- 20:26we don't know what else they have in
- 20:27their portfolio either.
- 20:29We don't know what
- 20:29investments they've made.
- 20:31We don't know any of the
- 20:32other stuff around that.
- 20:35We just know what the
- 20:38transaction of this one
- 20:40sale has made them.
- 20:47So they ain't poor for damn sure.
- 20:52Yeah.
- 20:56work is overrated uh tell me
- 20:58about it um yeah I'm just
- 21:06trying to get to retirement
- 21:07ken just trying to get to
- 21:08retirement just do enough
- 21:10so I don't piss everybody off uh
- 21:25The other thing,
- 21:28I don't even know if I want
- 21:29to dive down this hole,
- 21:31but the whole thing about Rich,
- 21:34Rich Froning, that is,
- 21:36not the rich people,
- 21:38and his power in this sale
- 21:41that's coming up,
- 21:43I do think he has some power,
- 21:46but I do think there is a
- 21:49romance attachment to
- 21:51CrossFit that even he will
- 21:54have a hard time
- 21:56pulling people away from.
- 22:04I do think he's going to
- 22:04pull some people away if he
- 22:06doesn't agree with the
- 22:07people that it's sold to,
- 22:11but I don't think it's as
- 22:12big as everybody thinks it
- 22:15is because there is a
- 22:16romance with CrossFit,
- 22:18and I think people will
- 22:19give it another shot to see
- 22:20where they're going to go with it.
- 22:32I am with you, Jody.
- 22:34She is thirteen months to retirement.
- 22:35Dear God, let me make it.
- 22:37I wish I was thirteen months.
- 22:40I have eight years.
- 22:41Eight years.
- 22:51If WFP goes exclusive next year,
- 22:53isn't that in opposition of
- 22:55how more ads sold it as
- 22:56more opportunities for athletes?
- 22:59If you are going back and
- 23:01saying that anything that
- 23:03Will said at the beginning is now factual,
- 23:06I think you're barking up the wrong tree.
- 23:10I think it has become
- 23:11blatantly obvious that what
- 23:13they said eight months ago is not,
- 23:17in fact, true anymore.
- 23:30I think Rich currently
- 23:31represents the old school
- 23:31community spirit that
- 23:33everyone feels CrossFit HQ has lost.
- 23:36I don't disagree,
- 23:37and I do think he will have an impact,
- 23:40but I think CrossFit will
- 23:41still be around after the fact.
- 23:44Because when it comes down to it,
- 23:46you have all these
- 23:47affiliates out there that
- 23:48are basically running their
- 23:50own business with just
- 23:51CrossFit on the board outside, right?
- 23:56And they're going to think
- 23:56they can continue to do this
- 23:59And they may even think they
- 24:00do it better than mayhem.
- 24:03You know,
- 24:03there are still gyms out there
- 24:04that program their own stuff.
- 24:06There are still gyms out
- 24:07there that do things their way.
- 24:10And that's the beauty of
- 24:11CrossFit is that you get to
- 24:13do it your way.
- 24:15Your gym gets to be your gym.
- 24:19And there are going to be a
- 24:19big bunch of people that
- 24:22are going to stay with that
- 24:24format so they can run their gym.
- 24:28I can't see Craig Howard from Diablo going,
- 24:31ooh, I'm going to go with Rich.
- 24:33No, he's going to be like, hey,
- 24:35I've been doing this since the beginning.
- 24:37I'm just going to continue
- 24:38to do it and do my own thing.
- 24:53Well,
- 24:53if the new owners obliterate the
- 24:54CrossFit message,
- 24:55then I feel all people in
- 24:57love with the brand will go with Rich.
- 25:01I think a good chunk could go with Rich,
- 25:03but I do think a lot of
- 25:04affiliate owners will just
- 25:06take CrossFit off the sign
- 25:09outside and they'll just do
- 25:11their own thing.
- 25:23um uh denise moore we are
- 25:30not a mayhem affiliate but
- 25:32we use the mayhem affiliate
- 25:33programming and there's a
- 25:34lot of gyms that do that
- 25:49The preponderance of
- 25:50unaffiliated gyms is overwhelming.
- 25:52Missed the opportunity
- 25:53because so many gyms could
- 25:55not submit my scores.
- 25:57I know.
- 25:58And I know of well-known
- 26:02athletes that were told
- 26:04they weren't allowed to
- 26:05come to their gym because
- 26:07their gym is unaffiliated.
- 26:11And that's not a good thing either.
- 26:25you think rich would turn
- 26:26the mayhem classic into a
- 26:28comp comparable to the
- 26:29games rogue or the wfi wfp
- 26:32final comp I don't I don't
- 26:34know if he wants to be an
- 26:35event organizer um maybe
- 26:38his team would but that would be crazy um
- 26:59As someone who trains in a
- 27:00de-affiliated gym,
- 27:01I can tell you how
- 27:02devastated I was when the
- 27:03owners made the deciding.
- 27:05Every day I walk in,
- 27:07I miss being able to say I
- 27:08train at a CrossFit gym.
- 27:12I think Sivan used the
- 27:13example that Kalipa felt
- 27:15dirty when he de-affiliated.
- 27:17When he was NC Fit,
- 27:18he looked at the sign and
- 27:20said he felt dirty about it.
- 27:32We do everything the same
- 27:33but aren't called CrossFit,
- 27:34and it makes me sad.
- 27:46He may not want to be an event organizer,
- 27:47but Rich runs a good event.
- 27:49He could do several smaller ones.
- 27:52Yeah, I mean, we'll see.
- 27:55The way they run it at the
- 27:56gym is very different than other events,
- 28:00and I don't think it could
- 28:01be the main event.
- 28:04He'd have to go to an arena
- 28:07or something like that or
- 28:09something bigger.
- 28:12And again, he may.
- 28:15He has a big team,
- 28:17and he's compiling a bigger team.
- 28:20I think he's bracing for something.
- 28:36Genuine question.
- 28:38What does it mean to be in a
- 28:40Mayhem affiliate versus
- 28:41just using their programming?
- 28:43I do not know.
- 28:57It's so weird that the name
- 28:58of the sport is the name of the company.
- 29:00Imagine being a skiing
- 29:02affiliate or a football affiliate.
- 29:10There are PGA courses in golf.
- 29:14So I think that's kind of
- 29:16the method to the madness there.
- 29:28Sean in Oregon,
- 29:29my gym considered dropping
- 29:30their affiliation,
- 29:32but didn't because they
- 29:33thought they'd lose membership.
- 29:34And they're right.
- 29:35I'm there because I believe in CrossFit.
- 29:44the last interview he did it
- 29:45just seemed the writing was
- 29:46on the wall that if he
- 29:47doesn't like who buys
- 29:48crossfit he's taking a
- 29:49different direction from a
- 29:51business standpoint I think
- 29:53you're right david and I
- 29:55think yesterday his
- 29:55appearance on savan back
- 29:57that up and the hiring of
- 29:59austin maliolo uh as like
- 30:02an affiliate director back
- 30:04that up I think he is
- 30:05bracing for something
- 30:19Fergie,
- 30:19we had athletes pay drop in fees to
- 30:22affiliates to submit open scores.
- 30:24It just felt wrong to those
- 30:26that stayed with CrossFit.
- 30:28They blow up their classes
- 30:29for three days and get zero memberships.
- 30:33Yeah.
- 30:34That's what happens when you
- 30:35don't look at those types
- 30:36of aspects when you make
- 30:38decisions in the rules.
- 30:51Vicky mayhem affiliate
- 30:54allows her allows provider.
- 30:57No Amelia,
- 30:59a mayhem affiliate provides them
- 31:02coaching education and resources stuff.
- 31:11Do you think rich would have
- 31:12an issue with there being Muslim owners?
- 31:16I don't think so.
- 31:18I think that that was part of,
- 31:21this bid in the beginning anyway,
- 31:25that he was kind of a part of.
- 31:27I just,
- 31:28I think he got sideswiped by some
- 31:30things and decided that it didn't,
- 31:35didn't meet his needs anymore.
- 31:54Matt Murphy,
- 31:54there's a difference between
- 31:55supporting the methodology
- 31:57and supporting the company.
- 32:01I guess.
- 32:03But man, it's not, it's slight.
- 32:09Genuine question,
- 32:10when does Scott actually eat lunch?
- 32:12Right after this show.
- 32:15I have it all ready.
- 32:15I throw it in the microwave
- 32:17or heat it up in the oven.
- 32:19I log back into my work
- 32:21computer and I eat at my desk.
- 32:36I don't know what that means, Ken,
- 32:39having a Savon mini stroke.
- 32:41I'm just trying to catch up
- 32:42on the comments.
- 32:42They're coming in so fast.
- 32:56So...
- 33:06CrossFit gym equals a
- 33:07thousand dollars a year,
- 33:10but no other extras other
- 33:13than the name mayhem offer
- 33:14gym assistance at fifteen hundred a year.
- 33:17Jim gets all it needs
- 33:18without paying the forty five hundred.
- 33:24You know,
- 33:25it can got to get that time stamp
- 33:26on the work computer.
- 33:28Yep.
- 33:31Well,
- 33:32where my desk is is right by the kitchen.
- 33:34Literally, I throw it in,
- 33:36I get back on my computer,
- 33:38and then I roll over and
- 33:40get my food out of the oven
- 33:42or whatever and just eat at my desk.
- 33:49Well, today's going to be a short show.
- 33:50I have an appointment this afternoon.
- 33:56I did want to share with you
- 33:58something from
- 34:02a Masters athlete that posted.
- 34:05His name is Tom Femery.
- 34:09And he wrote this on a post.
- 34:14Each of the CrossFit Games
- 34:15I've been privileged to
- 34:16participate in have taken
- 34:17on its own personality.
- 34:19Shoot.
- 34:23And it skipped ahead on me.
- 34:25there always seemed to be a
- 34:27defining moment that is
- 34:28etched in my memory.
- 34:29This past weekend was no
- 34:30exception as I participated
- 34:32in my six CrossFit games.
- 34:34I finished eighth in a field
- 34:35of twenty amazing athletes
- 34:37from around the world,
- 34:38extremely happy with my results,
- 34:40but more importantly,
- 34:41I really enjoyed the experience.
- 34:43The host city of Columbus,
- 34:44Ohio was an amazing venue
- 34:46with the energy and
- 34:46excitement I became
- 34:48accustomed to in Madison, Wisconsin.
- 34:50I'm hoping they host the
- 34:51event in Columbus for many years to come.
- 34:54He then thanks his gym and his coaches,
- 34:57and then he comes back with,
- 34:58then are the guys.
- 34:59Oh, the guys.
- 35:00Old friendships were renewed and deepened.
- 35:03New friendships were made,
- 35:04and it will be cherished.
- 35:05Every one of you inspire me.
- 35:09And then there is the moment
- 35:10that defines the weekend.
- 35:12We just completed the final
- 35:13event and were corralled
- 35:14until the final results were tabulated.
- 35:17While watching, we embraced each other,
- 35:19offering congratulations and respect.
- 35:21I turned to Cez Paloma from
- 35:25Spain and through his
- 35:26interpreter told him I was
- 35:28very proud of him.
- 35:29I suddenly noticed he was
- 35:30tearing up and the
- 35:32floodgates opened up for me.
- 35:34Here we are,
- 35:34two men who hardly know each other,
- 35:36cannot verbally communicate,
- 35:38connecting at the most
- 35:39basic level of the human condition,
- 35:42respect, admiration, relief, gratitude,
- 35:44and love.
- 35:45It doesn't matter where we're from.
- 35:47We are all the same.
- 35:51So I thought that recapped
- 35:52the age group CrossFit games pretty well.
- 35:56It was a great moment for a
- 35:58community of athletes who
- 36:01put in their best foot
- 36:02forward and with not a lot of accolades,
- 36:06not a lot of prize money.
- 36:09And I just thought it was,
- 36:11he said it in a beautiful
- 36:12way that meant a lot to
- 36:17so I'm gonna leave the show
- 36:19with that because I do have
- 36:21an appointment I need to
- 36:22get to today and with that
- 36:24I'll be back tomorrow we
- 36:26will hang out again and
- 36:28we'll talk about some stuff
- 36:30and yeah david it was good
- 36:31to meet you too um denise
- 36:34says she echoes for her age
- 36:36division uh thanks for reading that scott
- 36:43Yeah, it was really cool.
- 36:45I got to meet David on the
- 36:47fence line watching one of
- 36:48Jamie's events.
- 36:50Dude is jacked and super, super fit.
- 36:54He did awesome.
- 36:57So with that, guys, we'll leave with that.
- 37:01I'll be back tomorrow and love you all.
- 37:05Can't wait to get back and
- 37:06hang out tomorrow.
- 37:07But for now, got to go.
- 37:10Bye, guys.
