- 0:01Welcome to Voices of Life, the official podcast
- 0:04of the Church for Life. I'm Pastor David, and
- 0:07I'm honored you're here as we step into week
- 0:10five of our 12 -week journey, Living with Purpose,
- 0:14a God -Centered Life. This week, we're beginning
- 0:18purpose into the everyday moments, the ordinary
- 0:21spaces where most of life happens. Purpose is
- 0:26not just found in big decisions or major milestones.
- 0:30Purpose is lived out. It is the small things,
- 0:34the daily things, the unnoticed things, the things
- 0:38you repeat over and over again. Purpose is not
- 0:42something you visit. Purpose is something you
- 0:45live. So wherever you are, getting ready for
- 0:49the day, driving to work, walking outside, or
- 0:52settling into a quiet moment, Take a slow breath.
- 0:57Let your heart open. Let your mind focus. Let
- 1:01God speak. And let him speak into the rhythm
- 1:04of your daily life. Most people think purpose
- 1:09is something dramatic. Sometimes a calling, a
- 1:13mission, a moment of destiny. But scripture shows
- 1:18us that purpose is woven into the ordinary. Moses
- 1:23found purpose while tending sheep. David found
- 1:28purpose while delivering bread. Ruth found purpose
- 1:32while gleaning in a field. The disciples found
- 1:37purpose while fishing. Mary found purpose while
- 1:43living quietly before God. Things that may be
- 1:54spectacular. Purpose is revealed in the everyday.
- 1:59It is the conversations you have in the choices
- 2:03you make. The way you treat people. The way you
- 2:08present yourself when you show up. The way you
- 2:13love. The way you serve. Purpose is not a moment.
- 2:20Purpose is a lifestyle. It's a daily ritual.
- 2:27Now let's talk about purpose in your relationships.
- 2:31Your relationships are one of the greatest places
- 2:34where purpose is lived out. Purpose shows up
- 2:38in how you listen, speak, forgive, how you encourage,
- 2:44how you show grace, as you set boundaries. and
- 2:51how you love consistently. Purpose is not just
- 2:55what you do. Purpose is how you treat people
- 2:59while you do it. Every relationship is an opportunity
- 3:04to reflect God's heart. Every interaction is
- 3:09a chance to bring peace, kindness, and compassion
- 3:13into the world. Purpose is not loud. Purpose
- 3:17is relational. Your work is another place where
- 3:25purpose lives. Not just ministry work, not just
- 3:29creative work, and not just leadership work.
- 3:32It's all the work. It's all work has purpose
- 3:34when it is done with God and for God. Purpose
- 3:41in work is not about the job title. It's about
- 3:46the heart posture. Purpose shows up in excellence,
- 3:51integrity. diligence, humility. It shows up in
- 3:56your service and then gratitude. Purpose is not
- 4:02a task. Purpose is the spirit in which you do
- 4:06the task. Whether you're leading a team, caring
- 4:10for a child, serving customers, building something,
- 4:12teaching, cleaning, organizing, or creating.
- 4:17Purpose is present when God is present. Purpose
- 4:25is also found in your daily rhythms, in the way
- 4:29you begin your day, in the way you end your day,
- 4:32in the way you rest, in the way you pray, when
- 4:37you take a pause, when you breathe, when you
- 4:40reflect. Purpose is not something you chase.
- 4:46Purpose is something you cultivate. And it grows.
- 4:52It grows in the quiet moments, in the small decisions,
- 4:55in the steady habits that shape in your life.
- 5:05Now you may ask, how do we bring purpose into
- 5:08our everyday thoughts? Well, your thoughts shape
- 5:12your direction. Every day your mind is filled
- 5:15with hundreds of thoughts. Some are helpful,
- 5:17some are distracting, some are discouraging.
- 5:21But some are inspiring. Purpose begins in the
- 5:26mind. Purpose grows when you choose what thoughts
- 5:31to nurture and what thoughts to release. Scripture
- 5:36says, take every thought captive. That means
- 5:42you don't have to accept every thought you think.
- 5:46You can choose to think with purpose. You could
- 5:52choose thoughts that align with truth, with peace,
- 5:55your hope and faith. Purposeful thinking is not
- 6:00pretending. It is directing. It is saying. I
- 6:05will not let fear lead my thoughts today. I will
- 6:10not let shame shape my identity today. I will
- 6:15not let negativity set the tone of my day. Purpose
- 6:22begins with the thoughts you choose to keep.
- 6:29Purpose is lived out one choice at a time. Most
- 6:33of life is not shaped by big decisions. Most
- 6:35of life is shaped by small decisions, but made
- 6:38consistently. Purpose shows up in choices you
- 6:43make, when no one's watching, in the choice to
- 6:48be patient. If you choose to be kind, to forgive,
- 6:53to pause, in the choices to pray, to speak life,
- 7:01in the choice to walk away from negativity, in
- 7:07the choice to honor God, and you honor God with
- 7:12the little things. Purpose is not a moment. Purpose
- 7:17is a pattern. And every small choice is a brick
- 7:23in the foundation of a purposeful life. Purpose
- 7:31is not just what you believe, purpose is what
- 7:34you do. Your actions carry influence. Your actions
- 7:41carry impact. Your actions carry spiritual weight.
- 7:48Purposeful actions are not always dramatic. Sometimes
- 7:52purpose looks like showing up. It's doing the
- 7:58right thing, even when it's inconvenient. Maybe
- 8:03serving quietly without recognition. Choosing
- 8:08integrity when compromised is easier because
- 8:12purpose is not measured by applause. It is measured.
- 8:16by obedience when your actions align with god's
- 8:21heart purpose flows naturally through your life
- 8:24purpose is not only in what you do it is in how
- 8:33you carry yourself while you're doing it purpose
- 8:38shows up in your posture your tone your attitude
- 8:40your presence your consistency It also shows
- 8:46up in your humility and gratitude. People experience
- 8:52your purpose long before they hear your purpose.
- 8:55Your presence is a ministry. Your attitude is
- 9:02a message. Your consistency is a testimony. Well,
- 9:13purpose is not something you perform. Purpose
- 9:16is something you embody. Let's explore how to
- 9:24live with purpose in your relationships and your
- 9:26responsibilities. Those unseen moments. Purpose
- 9:32is lived out most clearly in the way you love
- 9:35people. Not just the people who are easy to love.
- 9:40Not just the people who agree with you. And certainly
- 9:43not just the people that encourage you. Purpose
- 9:46is revealed in how you treat people in the everyday
- 9:50moments. Purpose shows up in patience, kindness,
- 9:56gentleness, forgiveness, honesty, and compassion.
- 10:04Purpose is not loud. It is relational. Every
- 10:09conversation is an opportunity to reflect God's
- 10:13heart. Every interaction is a chance to bring
- 10:18peace into the world. Purpose is not something
- 10:23you say. Purpose is something people feel when
- 10:27you're around them. Your responsibilities are
- 10:34not interruptions to your purpose. They are expressions
- 10:37of your purpose. Purpose is not only found in
- 10:42the things you choose, purpose is also found
- 10:44in the things entrusted to you. Your responsibilities
- 10:49are sacred spaces where God forms character,
- 10:53builds discipline, and shapes your heart. Purpose
- 11:00shows up in how you steward what you've been
- 11:03given, in how you manage your time, in how you
- 11:07care for your home, in how you show up for work,
- 11:11how you serve your family, honoring your commitments,
- 11:15how you deal with pressure, and how you follow
- 11:21through. Purpose is not glamorous. Purpose is
- 11:27faithful. Some of our most purposeful moments
- 11:33are the ones no one ever sees. The prayer you
- 11:37pray when no one knows. The kindness you show
- 11:40when no one thanks you. The integrity you choose
- 11:45when no one is watching. The forgiveness you
- 11:50offer when no one understands. The discipline
- 11:54you practice when no one applauds. These unseen
- 11:57moments shape your character. more than any public
- 12:00moment ever could purpose is not measured by
- 12:04visibility purpose is measured by faithfulness
- 12:07god sees what others overlook god honors what
- 12:13others ignore god rewards what others never notice
- 12:18purpose is lived most deeply in those quiet places
- 12:27Purpose is not something you visit once in a
- 12:31while. Purpose is something you carry into every
- 12:34single day. Because purpose shows up, as we said,
- 12:40in your presence, your attitude, your consistency,
- 12:42gratitude, humility, but your willingness to
- 12:46be led by God. Purpose is not about perfection.
- 12:50Purpose is about intention. It's about waking
- 12:53up and saying, Lord, use me today. Guide me today.
- 12:59Shape me today. Let my life reflect you today.
- 13:04It's all about today. Purpose is not a destination.
- 13:10Purpose is a direction. As we talk about and
- 13:19talk through this simple practice that helps
- 13:22you live with purpose every single day. Find
- 13:27a comfortable posture. Let your breathing slow.
- 13:30Let your mind settle. Let your heart open. Say
- 13:38quietly, Lord, leave me today. Now ask yourself,
- 13:46very gently, what is one purposeful thing I can
- 13:52do today? Not ten things, not a whole list, just
- 13:56one. One act of kindness, a moment of patience,
- 14:03a step of obedience, a choice of integrity, a
- 14:10prayer of surrender, or a conversation of encouragement.
- 14:18Purpose is lived out one intentional moment at
- 14:21a time. Let God highlight that one thing. Hold
- 14:28it in your heart and let it guide your day. Now
- 14:37let's focus on the purpose in your presence.
- 14:42Place one hand over your heart. Take a slow breath
- 14:47in and a slow breath out. Say quietly, Lord,
- 14:53let my presence reflect you. Let my presence
- 14:58be part of you. Your presence is a ministry.
- 15:05People feel your peace before they hear your
- 15:09words. People feel your kindness before they
- 15:13hear your encouragement. People feel your steadiness
- 15:16before they hear your wisdom. Purpose is not
- 15:24only in what you do, it is in who you are when
- 15:29you walk into a room. Let God shape your presence.
- 15:34Let him soften your tone. Let him steady your
- 15:37spirit. Let him fill you with grace. Now let's
- 15:46turn to the unseen places. Say quietly, Lord,
- 15:53help me be faithful in the unseen. Purpose is
- 16:00formed in the quiet moments, in the prayer no
- 16:03one hears, in the discipline no one applauds,
- 16:06in the forgiveness no one understands, in the
- 16:09integrity no one notices. These unseen moments
- 16:15shape your character more than any public moment
- 16:18ever could. Purpose is not measured by visibility.
- 16:22Purpose is measured by faithfulness. Let God
- 16:27strengthen you in the hidden places. Let him
- 16:30build purpose in the quiet places. Let him form
- 16:33character in the unseen places. Let's close this
- 16:45week with a prayer for clarity. Direction and
- 16:49purpose. Heavenly Father, thank you for speaking
- 16:55to us today. Thank you for reminding us that
- 17:00purpose is not distant. It's not complicated.
- 17:05And it is reachable. Purpose is here. Purpose
- 17:12is now. Purpose is lived out in the everyday
- 17:18moments of our lives. Lord, help us live intentionally.
- 17:25Help us love deeply. Help us serve faithfully.
- 17:30Help us walk humbly. And help us reflect you
- 17:35in every conversation, every decision, every
- 17:39responsibility, every unseen moment. Shape our
- 17:45thoughts. Guide our choices. Direct our steps.
- 17:52Let our lives be filled with purpose that honors
- 17:56you. In Jesus' name, amen. Thank you for joining
- 18:03us today on Voices of Life. I'm Pastor David,
- 18:06and it's been a joy to walk with you through
- 18:09Week 5. Next week, we step into a powerful theme.
- 18:14living with spiritual discernment. Until then,
- 18:19walk intentionally, walk purposefully, walk with
- 18:26God, and may His wisdom and His presence go with
- 18:30you.
