Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: You know.
- 0:00Speaker 2: Funny thing, man, We talked about the Cardio album last
- 0:03Speaker 2: week or a couple of weeks ago and Friday, yeah,
- 0:06Speaker 2: and then uh no, no what we talked Yeah here,
- 0:09Speaker 2: So we had talked about it. It wasn't even something
- 0:12Speaker 2: that was like really on my radar as far as
- 0:13Speaker 2: like checking it out. But then I heard a rumor
- 0:16Speaker 2: that the that there was a Kendrick feature on it,
- 0:19Speaker 2: you know what I mean. So I was like, dang,
- 0:20Speaker 2: at least I'll check the Kendrick song out. Ended up
- 0:22Speaker 2: being three songs, you know what I mean, which is
- 0:25Speaker 2: kind of crazy. And that even became like a whole
- 0:28Speaker 2: thing of like people kind of saying like, oh, why
- 0:32Speaker 2: is he like platforming these like guys that like morally
- 0:36Speaker 2: corrupt kind of guys. I guess they're trying to frame
- 0:38Speaker 2: it as it's like bro, like you know, they're making
- 0:43Speaker 2: music together. Bro, Like you know what I'm saying, Like
- 0:45Speaker 2: it's a music thing. And somebody I forgot I wish
- 0:49Speaker 2: I could remember or even remember where I seen it
- 0:52Speaker 2: or who it was, but somebody made a dope comparison,
- 0:55Speaker 2: like just saying like if you look at the cover
- 0:57Speaker 2: up to Pimp a Butterfly, that's all different types of people,
- 1:01Speaker 2: Like you know, Kendrick's in the mid you got you
- 1:04Speaker 2: Got a Kendrick, which is Kendrick. But on that cover,
- 1:07Speaker 2: there's a version of like a Kodak Black type dude.
- 1:10Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying.
- 1:10Speaker 2: There's a version of a Playboy Cardi type dude. Like
- 1:13Speaker 2: there's there's different people, and he's just the type of
- 1:17Speaker 2: dude that embraces everybody because he understands that, you know,
- 1:19Speaker 2: people go through their stuff, you know what I mean.
- 1:22Speaker 2: But I just thought it was funny that people were
- 1:24Speaker 2: trying to kind of like take this angle because you know,
- 1:27Speaker 2: now it's like you got to criticize certain artists because
- 1:31Speaker 2: of you know, whatever happened in the past, and it's
- 1:33Speaker 2: like trying to like judge the collaborators now. And it's like,
- 1:37Speaker 2: come on, man, you're digging too deep.
- 1:38Speaker 1: Bro.
- 1:39Speaker 2: It's a Playboy Cardi album. Yeah, Playboy Cardi's never trying
- 1:42Speaker 2: to be deep. Bro. You hear the music dog Is
- 1:45Speaker 2: It ain't even that deep.
- 1:47Speaker 1: But yeah, the album was surprisingly good to me.
- 1:50Speaker 2: It was very well curated.
- 1:53Speaker 1: I trashed it early on.
- 1:54Speaker 3: It's funny because I sent it in the chat. I
- 1:57Speaker 3: sent in a couple of the Homies chats and first
- 2:00Speaker 3: thing trash, and then as it started getting through the album,
- 2:03Speaker 3: I was like.
- 2:04Speaker 1: All right, this sounds kind of good. All right, this
- 2:06Speaker 1: sounds kind of good.
- 2:07Speaker 3: So I had to go back and I say, I know,
- 2:09Speaker 3: I said it was trash, but some of these songs
- 2:13Speaker 3: are pretty good. Like he really put an album it
- 2:16Speaker 3: starts off. I think he did it. I think he did.
- 2:19Speaker 1: He took a good approach.
- 2:20Speaker 3: He started off as Playboy CARTI like, this is a
- 2:23Speaker 3: Playboy Cardi because remember we said, like the fan base
- 2:27Speaker 3: and the music that he made was so dated at
- 2:29Speaker 3: that point, Like, who knows if those fans are still going.
- 2:32Speaker 1: To like that?
- 2:33Speaker 2: He got different styles too, Yeah, so he.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Gave them that.
- 2:36Speaker 3: He's like, if y'all still want that Playboy CARDI, here
- 2:38Speaker 3: you go for seven eight tracks and then he's like,
- 2:41Speaker 3: let me give you Playboy Cardy who I am today?
- 2:44Speaker 3: And that's when I was like, a now it's hitting
- 2:46Speaker 3: for me. Now I like it now, Like a lot
- 2:48Speaker 3: of these songs, I'm still not a big fan of
- 2:51Speaker 3: the way he raps. Yeah, I do not love the style,
- 2:55Speaker 3: but I can tolerate it. But I'm glad he put
- 2:58Speaker 3: himself at the end of it. Put himself at the
- 2:59Speaker 3: end of the so I can just skip it once
- 3:01Speaker 3: it gets to him. But there's some good songs in there.
- 3:03Speaker 3: I'm not gonna lie.
- 3:04Speaker 2: Yeah, man, I kind of you probably hit it right
- 3:07Speaker 2: on the head, like the same way I feel. It's
- 3:09Speaker 2: like it's not something that I was like, Wow, I'm
- 3:11Speaker 2: so surprised. He's way doper than I thought. But I
- 3:15Speaker 2: did think. Man, this album was very well put together.
- 3:18Speaker 2: The features were very well done. The vibe is super
- 3:22Speaker 2: dope on this, you know, the beats, like I said,
- 3:27Speaker 2: the features, the songs, like the way it was written
- 3:30Speaker 2: and everything, like the ideas on the songs. It was
- 3:32Speaker 2: pretty dope man. Yeah, and I definitely appreciated it. I
- 3:37Speaker 2: will say, I haven't gone back and listen to nothing
- 3:39Speaker 2: of it, so I don't know if I will go back.
- 3:42Speaker 2: I don't know if it was just like a moment thing.
- 3:45Speaker 2: I'm definitely gonna go back and check out. Because I
- 3:47Speaker 2: only checked out two of the Kendrick features. I didn't
- 3:49Speaker 2: check out the third.
- 3:50Speaker 3: Yeah, there honestly, I like them all and then I
- 3:53Speaker 3: know we'll get into it. There's a lot of people
- 3:56Speaker 3: who do not like Kendrick's features at all enjoin.
- 4:00Speaker 1: All of them.
- 4:01Speaker 2: Yeah, he definitely. He definitely slid on on the songs
- 4:04Speaker 2: that I heard. Bruh, this guy. You know it's so
- 4:08Speaker 2: funny man. Somebody posted on threads like at this point,
- 4:13Speaker 2: I react to Kanye news like I would imagine people
- 4:16Speaker 2: and got them city react when you know the Riddler escape,
- 4:19Speaker 2: Sparking Asylum or something.
- 4:21Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 4:22Speaker 3: Yeah, for real, just the wildest, craziest stuff you're ever
- 4:25Speaker 3: gonna hear.
- 4:26Speaker 1: Somebody say, but this is real life, yep, exactly.
- 4:29Speaker 2: He just at this point, he's turned himself into a meme.
- 4:32Speaker 2: He's been so quote unquote controversial that he's like it's
- 4:37Speaker 2: like not that it's tame now, but it's just it
- 4:39Speaker 2: doesn't have no impact because you're just doing it all
- 4:41Speaker 2: the time now.
- 4:42Speaker 3: Bro, Like, I'm not gonna lie. And I tell everybody this,
- 4:46Speaker 3: like when people ask you what my sign is?
- 4:47Speaker 1: Right?
- 4:48Speaker 3: So I was born on June twenty first, which is
- 4:51Speaker 3: a cuss, right, So I could be there cancer at Gemini.
- 4:54Speaker 3: But the more I see Kanye react and act, I'm like,
- 4:58Speaker 3: I'm like one and that's He's one of my top
- 5:00Speaker 3: favorite artists and just people in general like in the
- 5:03Speaker 3: same way, but I'm not that.
- 5:06Speaker 1: Way in public. Yeah, only wife, he sees that side
- 5:10Speaker 1: of me, and I think.
- 5:11Speaker 2: That's what so many people like, as much as they
- 5:14Speaker 2: sometimes they don't like what he's saying or he's doing
- 5:17Speaker 2: too much. That's the other side that people in the
- 5:20Speaker 2: back of their heads, they're like, damn, this dude's just
- 5:22Speaker 2: saying whatever he feels and doing whatever he wants. And
- 5:25Speaker 2: it's like there's other figures in politics they can't do
- 5:29Speaker 2: the sports. No, not even that they can't do that,
- 5:32Speaker 2: but that mentality has caught on. You know what I'm saying.
- 5:36Speaker 2: People just liking people because they're honest or they say
- 5:39Speaker 2: whatever they want.
- 5:40Speaker 3: But that's why Antonio Brown is a nugcase because he
- 5:42Speaker 3: says whatever it feels.
- 5:44Speaker 2: But he also got his family.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Yeah no, but that's what I'm saying.
- 5:47Speaker 3: There's hundreds, hundreds and hundreds of other people who feel
- 5:50Speaker 3: the same way, but they will never ever have the
- 5:53Speaker 3: boss to say that stuff in public.
- 5:54Speaker 1: Yep.
- 5:55Speaker 2: And even though what Kanye said about Kendrick on Party's
- 6:00Speaker 2: album is like, it's something that probably somebody will be
- 6:04Speaker 2: justified feeling in that moment. Maybe they're just trying to
- 6:06Speaker 2: listen to something ignorant and they hear Kendrick and they're like, man,
- 6:09Speaker 2: I'm not trying to hear this. I'm just trying to
- 6:11Speaker 2: vibe because he was talking about something. I don't like
- 6:13Speaker 2: Kendrick Lamar's music. This is a tweet or whatever that
- 6:18Speaker 2: Kanye put up. I don't like Kendrick Lamar's music. He
- 6:21Speaker 2: raps very good, but I didn't need to hear him
- 6:24Speaker 2: on Cardi album for real.
- 6:25Speaker 1: And it's like, and Kanye is a big support of Carty.
- 6:28Speaker 3: He's had Cardy on plenty of tracks, He's collaborated with
- 6:31Speaker 3: him a lot, so he's not even hating on Cardi.
- 6:34Speaker 1: And then I don't know how.
- 6:36Speaker 3: I don't know if sometimes I feel like Kanye is
- 6:39Speaker 3: trying to work his way back into Drake's good graces,
- 6:43Speaker 3: you know what I'm saying, because we know how much
- 6:45Speaker 3: he loves Drake. But at the same time they're valid comments.
- 6:50Speaker 2: Yeah, it's definitely just an opinion, which you know, coming
- 6:54Speaker 2: from Kanye is going to hold a little more weight
- 6:57Speaker 2: than if I said something like that, So I'll say
- 6:59Speaker 2: nobody will back or I. But he's saying it. It's
- 7:01Speaker 2: like oh he's hating after he was riding with Kendrick
- 7:06Speaker 2: when he dropped to like that remix and all this
- 7:08Speaker 2: stuff and now whatever, Like what was the change? You
- 7:12Speaker 2: know what I'm saying. But bruh, Like I said, he
- 7:16Speaker 2: always gonna drop some kind of news that people gonna
- 7:20Speaker 2: hear and react to, and it's like, we're gonna keep
- 7:22Speaker 2: it moving. It's like, at this point, bro, if you
- 7:27Speaker 2: get your stuff together, drop some music if that's not
- 7:29Speaker 2: what it is.
- 7:30Speaker 3: But I don't care, bro, And you know what, I
- 7:32Speaker 3: don't want to go on the tangent. But one thing
- 7:35Speaker 3: I noticed is that he went in a tirade on
- 7:39Speaker 3: Twitter about all the juice stuff that he always talks about, right,
- 7:44Speaker 3: but then Dollar Sign deleted anything that he's ever done
- 7:49Speaker 3: with Kanye with on his Instagram on anything. He's like,
- 7:53Speaker 3: I have no affiliation towards him. Like if you're gonna
- 7:56Speaker 3: collaborate with Kanye, yay, you know that risk is there,
- 8:02Speaker 3: you know what I mean? And then to take it
- 8:03Speaker 3: back and like, oh no, all right, you don't fuck
- 8:06Speaker 3: with him. Everybody's cool with that now, like it's that valid,
- 8:09Speaker 3: Like oh it's like no, oh, everybody still loves Ty
- 8:13Speaker 3: Dollar sign because he says he don't mess with Kanye
- 8:15Speaker 3: no more. Like, Bro, you still did it. You knew
- 8:18Speaker 3: he was here with him, and.
- 8:19Speaker 2: He was on the stuff that he's on now, he
- 8:22Speaker 2: was just a little more team. It was benefiting you.
- 8:24Speaker 1: Then now there you go.
- 8:27Speaker 2: Now it's a bad look. So now you're like, nah,
- 8:30Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying. That's why, Like it's funny
- 8:34Speaker 2: because like somebody like Jim Jones is rocking with Kanye
- 8:38Speaker 2: right now, and it's like he don't even realize that
- 8:42Speaker 2: Kanye reached out to you because you're down to rock
- 8:46Speaker 2: with him. Yeah, nobody else is down right now. Kanye
- 8:49Speaker 2: wasn't reaching out to Jim Jones when he had Tie
- 8:51Speaker 2: Dollar sign at the crib, when he had all the
- 8:53Speaker 2: biggest artists rocking with him. He wasn't saying, Yo, come
- 8:56Speaker 2: here Jim. Now that he's cold, come here Jim, and
- 9:01Speaker 2: Jim will take the opportunity. You know what I'm saying.
- 9:03Speaker 2: But it's like, bro, like you know, that wasn't.
- 9:05Speaker 1: That wasn't what it was. That wasn't.
- 9:07Speaker 3: And then you think about, like, you know, we grew
- 9:09Speaker 3: up with people who we probably shouldn't be affiliated with,
- 9:13Speaker 3: right and we bang with them, and we knew who
- 9:16Speaker 3: they were from the beginning, and then they get you
- 9:19Speaker 3: in some trouble they're like, nah, nah, I don't bang
- 9:21Speaker 3: with them, like you knew who they were facts, and
- 9:24Speaker 3: you still did it now because you don't bang with them,
- 9:27Speaker 3: or everybody thinks you were saying and now you're good.
- 9:30Speaker 1: It's like, it's not it doesn't work like that.
- 9:32Speaker 3: You knew, you knew what it was, and you can't
- 9:36Speaker 3: just take it all back just because you delete all
- 9:37Speaker 3: your Instagram posts and say I don't bang with somebody. Nah,
- 9:41Speaker 3: you did, and that was the same person that you
- 9:43Speaker 3: knew they were when you started to.
- 9:45Speaker 2: And it kind of goes into the part about Kanye
- 9:48Speaker 2: that people like it's like it's cool because in the
- 9:51Speaker 2: back of your mind you kind of wish you could
- 9:53Speaker 2: do that. But you can't be half in, half out. No,
- 9:56Speaker 2: you can't say, oh, I'm gonna rock with you now,
- 9:59Speaker 2: you know, because because everything everything's every Oh the water
- 10:02Speaker 2: is steady, but when it gets rocky, Oh no, this
- 10:04Speaker 2: dude beyond something. It's exactly what you were saying, like, nah, bro,
- 10:06Speaker 2: he'd always been on something. It ain't just start today,
- 10:11Speaker 2: bru It's funny because kind of kind of sidetracking to
- 10:16Speaker 2: another artist, artist Will Smith dropping a new album Man,
- 10:22Speaker 2: his first album in two decades, right, and shout out
- 10:27Speaker 2: to taoh Man. The artists that I've been working with
- 10:30Speaker 2: for like Bro, like damn near twenty years. Like we
- 10:33Speaker 2: started making music together in high school, Bro, and like
- 10:36Speaker 2: we just kind of reconnected and we're dropping some new
- 10:38Speaker 2: music a few songs actually. But he puts something on
- 10:44Speaker 2: Facebook basically talking about that big Willie style album you
- 10:48Speaker 2: know what I'm saying, And he was like, Bro, he
- 10:51Speaker 2: was like, I don't care when nobody said this album
- 10:53Speaker 2: was fired. He was talking about how his big brother
- 10:55Speaker 2: like wanted to disowned him just for even having the album.
- 10:58Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying.
- 11:00Speaker 2: He would make fun of him about it. Same with me.
- 11:03Speaker 1: Bro.
- 11:04Speaker 2: When Will Smith was in that bag bruh, when he
- 11:08Speaker 2: was in that getting Jiggy with It men in Black
- 11:11Speaker 2: Wah Wah West, like when he was in that bad
- 11:15Speaker 2: Fire them songs was gas yeah them yo, and he
- 11:20Speaker 2: was rapping Bro. He was spit yo, just the two
- 11:23Speaker 2: of us. Bro.
- 11:24Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:25Speaker 2: When I had my kids, Bro, I hear that song, Bro,
- 11:28Speaker 2: I cry, brocause that song is so real though, like
- 11:32Speaker 2: the verses that he says on that no for real.
- 11:35Speaker 1: You know what's funny.
- 11:36Speaker 3: We became a big fan of Abbot Elementary right, and
- 11:40Speaker 3: there was a random scene in the show, and I
- 11:42Speaker 3: love this show because it's like The Office but in
- 11:44Speaker 3: a different setting. It's a Philly elementary school. And they
- 11:47Speaker 3: were like, it just came around on like the Will
- 11:51Speaker 3: Smith Best movie and they were like, no, it's Wowow
- 11:53Speaker 3: West like Man in Black. And then someone was like, oh, no,
- 11:56Speaker 3: it was because West had a line dance. So that
- 11:58Speaker 3: had a line dance and they all started dancing.
- 12:01Speaker 1: To wild Wah West. Bro I was.
- 12:03Speaker 3: I was at the crib, had a couple of shots
- 12:06Speaker 3: at tequila and me and I pulled up the wild
- 12:08Speaker 3: Wow Vest video. Bro I was like, why isn't this
- 12:13Speaker 3: such a bigger song than it is? Like like, you
- 12:15Speaker 3: don't want to see my hand with my hip?
- 12:17Speaker 1: Bed?
- 12:17Speaker 2: I was like, that was a say he was a
- 12:21Speaker 2: lip react you don't want to see my hand with
- 12:23Speaker 2: my hip?
- 12:25Speaker 3: Was a bro he was Will Smith had bars nobody
- 12:30Speaker 3: gives I think because of the actor he was and
- 12:33Speaker 3: the characters he plays, no one really gave him that
- 12:36Speaker 3: that appreciation of a rapper that he was. I think
- 12:40Speaker 3: if he was just a rapper.
- 12:41Speaker 2: Bro, It's as simple as this.
- 12:44Speaker 1: Dog.
- 12:44Speaker 2: People want negativity. Bro. People act like they don't. They
- 12:49Speaker 2: try to act holy. They try to say this and that, Bro.
- 12:52Speaker 2: Will Smith was rapping, but he wasn't saying nothing disrespectful.
- 12:57Speaker 2: He wasn't saying nothing contra versal, so nobody was trying
- 13:01Speaker 2: to hear it. Bro, That's what it is.
- 13:03Speaker 1: Dog.
- 13:04Speaker 2: People try to act like they want You know, Bro,
- 13:07Speaker 2: there's a reason why Kanye is so big. There's a
- 13:10Speaker 2: reason why these people that get platform are doing these numbers, Dog,
- 13:15Speaker 2: because like you said, bruh, in the back of everybody's mind,
- 13:18Speaker 2: they want to feed into that negativity. Bro. People be
- 13:21Speaker 2: acting like they holy. Nah, Bro, if we was all
- 13:24Speaker 2: as holy as we say we would, we wouldn't hear
- 13:27Speaker 2: a peep out of Kanye talk. Will Smith would be
- 13:30Speaker 2: the biggest rapper in the world. You know what I'm saying, Like,
- 13:32Speaker 2: dog Like.
- 13:33Speaker 3: There wouldn't be no Floyd Mayweather, there wouldn't be no
- 13:37Speaker 3: all these all these professional athletes and artists who actually
- 13:41Speaker 3: speak their mind. They don't care what people think. Like
- 13:43Speaker 3: I'm saying, like, that's why I love Floyd Mayweather the
- 13:45Speaker 3: same thing. He's the greatest boxing me. When he was
- 13:48Speaker 3: face to face, h I forgot my man's name. The
- 13:51Speaker 3: old dude, He's like, I'll beat your.
- 13:52Speaker 2: Ass, right, Oh yeah, yeah, I'll.
- 13:58Speaker 1: That's not I hate. I forget. I know it was
- 13:59Speaker 1: the ash.
- 14:01Speaker 2: I think his name is Michael something, but any ayget yeah,
- 14:04Speaker 2: I know you're talking about that. And it's funny kind
- 14:06Speaker 2: of going about boxing, even going back to the sports segment. Bro,
- 14:10Speaker 2: Like Floyd was talking crazy, Bro, but nobody beat him
- 14:15Speaker 2: in that ring.
- 14:15Speaker 1: Bro.
- 14:16Speaker 2: Like you could say that he was the defense.
- 14:19Speaker 1: Whatever.
- 14:19Speaker 2: You could say whatever you want about Floyd Mayweather. Bro,
- 14:22Speaker 2: nobody put him on his ass.
- 14:24Speaker 1: BRO. It's another fight. That fight.
- 14:25Speaker 2: That's a fact. Like you could watch all the fights.
- 14:28Speaker 2: He fought everybody that was anybody in those divisions.
- 14:32Speaker 1: Bro.
- 14:32Speaker 2: You can't tell me he didn't. You could pretend like
- 14:34Speaker 2: he didn't, but he did.
- 14:35Speaker 1: Bro.
- 14:35Speaker 2: He fought everybody.
- 14:36Speaker 3: Beat on Floyd Mayo the Mayweather for twenty five fights
- 14:39Speaker 3: in a row, and I never lost the bet.
- 14:41Speaker 1: Bro.
- 14:42Speaker 2: Dog he's boxing. Bro, there's no faking that. You can't
- 14:45Speaker 2: look at that and say, buddy got lucky or whatever.
- 14:47Speaker 2: It's like, but you gotta be that. If you're gonna
- 14:50Speaker 2: be talking that way, bro, you gotta go.
- 14:52Speaker 3: And we can tie it back to the mama mentality
- 14:54Speaker 3: all that, all that stuff. Lebron who he is right
- 14:56Speaker 3: now checking Steven A. Like, if you at that level
- 15:00Speaker 3: where you can talk that talk, you can. But if
- 15:02Speaker 3: you're a little rookie talking to Kevin Duran, maybe you need.
- 15:05Speaker 2: A chill matter of fact.
- 15:06Speaker 3: But if you at that level, then you know you
- 15:09Speaker 3: can talk that talking back it up and anything I
- 15:13Speaker 3: would do it, I would be in the same position.
- 15:15Speaker 3: Now you're not gonna check me.
