- 0:02Speaker 1: On scoring lis Oustrolia.
- 0:05Speaker 2: This is the Wader Paney Show.
- 0:09Speaker 3: Good evening and welcome to the Rita Paney Show.
- 0:11Speaker 4: Coming up tonight, Jim Chalmers Cementsi's place in Australian history
- 0:15Speaker 4: as the country's highest ever taxing treasurer. My panel will
- 0:19Speaker 4: cover that.
- 0:20Speaker 3: In the day's other top headlines.
- 0:22Speaker 4: Antoinette Lutoff goes back to the ABC after a legal
- 0:25Speaker 4: battle with a national broadcaster, Diddy Dunlevy. We'll have all
- 0:29Speaker 4: your entertainment news. John Heindereika will bring us the latest
- 0:33Speaker 4: from the US, including President Trump's unprecedented move concerning his
- 0:38Speaker 4: trip to China.
- 0:39Speaker 3: And we have a new guest on the program.
- 0:41Speaker 4: Stella Escabido will join us discuss the failing state that
- 0:46Speaker 4: is California. Plenty of lessons there for Australia and Left
- 0:50Speaker 4: He's losing It features Sidney Sweeney's character in Euphoria, sending
- 0:55Speaker 4: the Left into fits of unbridled outrage.
- 1:00Speaker 5: Today wan to see that he wants a girlfriend that
- 1:02Speaker 5: can cocker clean. You might as well be screaming the enword.
- 1:06Speaker 6: Okay, well, you sound like a Democrat.
- 1:10Speaker 5: I'm not retorded.
- 1:13Speaker 4: But first to the budget, which has a cemented Jim
- 1:16Speaker 4: Chalmers place in Australian history. Yes, he is the highest
- 1:20Speaker 4: ever income taxing Treasurer budget paper figures show that the
- 1:24Speaker 4: total income tax as a share of GDP will hit
- 1:27Speaker 4: eighteen point six percent in twenty twenty five, twenty six
- 1:31Speaker 4: and twenty six twenty seven, staying at similarly high levels
- 1:35Speaker 4: for the next three years. Changes to capital gains, negative
- 1:39Speaker 4: gearing and trusts will raise more than one hundred billion
- 1:43Speaker 4: dollars over the next ten years, but all of that
- 1:46Speaker 4: revenue will come in after the next two financial years.
- 1:49Speaker 4: The Treasurer declared that his budget is aimed at tackling
- 1:53Speaker 4: into generational challenges by reforming the tax system for workers,
- 1:58Speaker 4: businesses and future generations. But former Treasurer Peter Costello told
- 2:03Speaker 4: The Australian newspaper the revenue from these tax changes will
- 2:07Speaker 4: not be going to young Australians. It will go into
- 2:10Speaker 4: more spending and disappear as debt rises. Far from being
- 2:15Speaker 4: apologetic about this failure and dealing with the spending problem,
- 2:19Speaker 4: the current government seeks to distract attention with talk of
- 2:23Speaker 4: generational clashes.
- 2:25Speaker 3: Joining me now for more on this.
- 2:27Speaker 4: As former Labor MP Michael Danby and Sky News contributor
- 2:30Speaker 4: Louise Roberts.
- 2:32Speaker 3: Louise, these changes.
- 2:33Speaker 4: They're not going to address intergenerational inequity, Labour's favorite new term.
- 2:38Speaker 4: In fact, you could argue it will entrench it with
- 2:41Speaker 4: young people unable to access the investment tools that we
- 2:45Speaker 4: had and generations before them had.
- 2:48Speaker 7: That's right. So really, instead of addressing this intergenerational equity,
- 2:52Speaker 7: it's set off warfare between kids and their parents because
- 2:56Speaker 7: now the younger generations have someone to blame, and that's
- 2:58Speaker 7: a mom and dad investors, it's the it's the people
- 3:00Speaker 7: who spent a lifetime paying tax and are now apparently
- 3:04Speaker 7: to blame for the housing supply and the reason that
- 3:07Speaker 7: kids can't get into the property market. So it's an
- 3:09Speaker 7: obscene delivery of family warfare. And I never really thought
- 3:13Speaker 7: i'd see the Labor Party go after the family unit
- 3:16Speaker 7: in this way. And you're absolutely right, because by reducing
- 3:19Speaker 7: the amount of investment properties and the amount of rental supply,
- 3:22Speaker 7: that's only going to hurt young people. It's going to
- 3:24Speaker 7: drive up the price of rents and they're already struggling
- 3:27Speaker 7: to fund a deposit or save or pay their way around.
- 3:32Speaker 7: And it's had the opposite effect, and I was looking
- 3:35Speaker 7: at the Prime Minister's social media where he was talking
- 3:38Speaker 7: about we're making it easy for people to get into
- 3:40Speaker 7: the market. We want to make things fair. They've done
- 3:43Speaker 7: the exact opposite. And are we surprised.
- 3:45Speaker 3: Probably not. It's depressing, not surprised.
- 3:49Speaker 4: And Michael New Zealand tried this tom foolery. We've tried
- 3:53Speaker 4: it before in this country. It has not gone well.
- 3:56Speaker 4: As Luise pointed out, what happens is rents, sky rocket
- 4:00Speaker 4: and all sorts of other unintended consequences.
- 4:03Speaker 8: Well, Keating dropped it after eighteen months and the current
- 4:09Speaker 8: government in New Zealand dropped it. And I think it
- 4:11Speaker 8: was one of the reasons that they were elected as
- 4:16Speaker 8: a policy difference between them and the Adern mob. I
- 4:20Speaker 8: wouldn't like to have hung around my neck the placa
- 4:24Speaker 8: that you just hung around Jim chalmers neck is the
- 4:26Speaker 8: highest axing treasurer in Australia. It's not a thing you'd
- 4:29Speaker 8: like to go into history with. And I think this
- 4:31Speaker 8: Cruelsy's bid to be the successor after Elbow, and it
- 4:37Speaker 8: gives the Liberals the policy issues which if they fight.
- 4:43Speaker 8: I'm telling you I have personal experience from the fringe
- 4:46Speaker 8: benefits tax of there being lots of fifty sixty year
- 4:50Speaker 8: old principles ex policeman, who will switch votes, who will
- 4:54Speaker 8: labor back to the Liberals if this policy is opposed.
- 5:00Speaker 3: It's all about how they tackle it, though.
- 5:02Speaker 4: They have to articulate their message very clearly and they
- 5:06Speaker 4: can't play by Labour's rules. They can't submit to this
- 5:10Speaker 4: idea that this is solving into generational equity issues, because
- 5:15Speaker 4: as we've discussed, it's doing nothing of the sort now.
- 5:18Speaker 4: Budget figures have also exposed the government's failure to reign
- 5:23Speaker 4: in Australia's migration intake. The government expects two hundred and
- 5:27Speaker 4: ninety five thousand arrivals in the current financial year, followed
- 5:30Speaker 4: by two hundred and forty five in twenty six twenty
- 5:33Speaker 4: seven and two hundred and twenty five in twenty seven
- 5:36Speaker 4: twenty eight. Those figures exclude temporary migrants, including international students
- 5:42Speaker 4: and short term visa holders. Louise that's a corehort that
- 5:47Speaker 4: has surged massively in recent years, and of course all
- 5:51Speaker 4: those people have to live somewhere. It places a great
- 5:54Speaker 4: deal of pressure on the rental market.
- 5:56Speaker 7: Although apparently negative gearing is the issue that sort's actually
- 5:59Speaker 7: had the housing market, not this huge influx of migrants
- 6:03Speaker 7: who actually say need somewhere to live, and they need schools,
- 6:06Speaker 7: they need infrastructure, they need transport, they need healthcare and
- 6:08Speaker 7: everything else, and that's what's causing a huge train on
- 6:11Speaker 7: our system. But Labor would rather not deal with that
- 6:14Speaker 7: issue of migration or housing supply and instead that it's
- 6:17Speaker 7: come after the family unit.
- 6:19Speaker 3: As I said previously, this.
- 6:24Speaker 4: Seems to be an issue that Labor do not want
- 6:27Speaker 4: to tackle. And I would argue even the coalition has
- 6:29Speaker 4: been really weak that yes they've got a new migration policy,
- 6:34Speaker 4: but we have no heard and fast figures of this
- 6:37Speaker 4: is what our target is. And it's probably explaining why
- 6:42Speaker 4: One Nation is gaining so much support because they're clear
- 6:45Speaker 4: in their policy.
- 6:46Speaker 8: Position and overseas students and temporary visa holders all require
- 6:52Speaker 8: public transport and many of them require accommodation in the meantime.
- 6:56Speaker 8: And I can't understand how the government doesn't do a
- 6:59Speaker 8: radical rewrite of the immigration rules because as you say,
- 7:03Speaker 8: it's only strengthening the new political party of the right.
- 7:08Speaker 8: One nation. You can be in favor of targeted migration,
- 7:12Speaker 8: but the figures that have happened to Australia. Clearly, they're
- 7:16Speaker 8: fueling public discontent and it's negligent of the government not
- 7:20Speaker 8: to address.
- 7:21Speaker 4: Well, we've got a million more permanent coming in in
- 7:24Speaker 4: the next three years roughly, and then you've got all
- 7:27Speaker 4: the temporary and as we've discovered, we've had.
- 7:29Speaker 8: Two million come in. You know that has boosted Australia's
- 7:33Speaker 8: population to twenty seven million. I mean, I'm in favor
- 7:36Speaker 8: of Australia gradually growing, but there's no extra recruits for
- 7:39Speaker 8: the defense forces. What's happened to the motivation of these people.
- 7:43Speaker 8: We can't get fifty thousand people in the ADF.
- 7:46Speaker 4: And we are not building enough homes, which is a
- 7:49Speaker 4: heading to the housing crisis. And now there's going to
- 7:52Speaker 4: be even less incentive. You've got to argue for people
- 7:55Speaker 4: to become investors in property, which will well.
- 7:58Speaker 8: Why would you with state land taxes? These new taxes
- 8:01Speaker 8: from the highest taxing treasure in Australia's history.
- 8:04Speaker 5: Wow, what are.
- 8:07Speaker 3: Talked about? Michael? The Greens.
- 8:08Speaker 4: The Greens have argued that the negative gearing changes don't
- 8:12Speaker 4: go far enough. They want the changes to apply to
- 8:15Speaker 4: current investors as well, but have listened to Green Senator
- 8:20Speaker 4: Nick mckim's choice of language when describing the concept of grandfathering,
- 8:26Speaker 4: it seems as if the government is going a grand
- 8:29Speaker 4: person in existing arrangements in order to maximize the benefits
- 8:34Speaker 4: of the reform. Louisa he can't bring himself to use
- 8:39Speaker 4: the correct term grandfather, grand person. I think he said
- 8:44Speaker 4: he had to use a non gendered term.
- 8:48Speaker 3: I mean, these people they're not serious people.
- 8:50Speaker 7: No, they're not serious people. But imagine thinking that was
- 8:54Speaker 7: the key message post budget, that you had to actually
- 8:56Speaker 7: clarify in language that it was grand person rather than grandfathering.
- 8:59Speaker 7: What everyone knows, it's not a generic sort of gender
- 9:02Speaker 7: term that's being applied here. But of course, as usual,
- 9:05Speaker 7: the Greens don't come up with any solution to the
- 9:07Speaker 7: housing supply, do they. They just got to go down
- 9:09Speaker 7: that strange path of ideology and they think that actually
- 9:12Speaker 7: means policy when the rest of us are just tearing
- 9:14Speaker 7: our hair at saying they're not serious people.
- 9:16Speaker 3: As you say, they're not serious people.
- 9:19Speaker 4: But you could argue, Michael that the policies adopted by
- 9:22Speaker 4: Labor are Greens led policies. I mean this is it
- 9:28Speaker 4: doesn't go far enough for the Greens, but it's a start.
- 9:31Speaker 4: They would be very happy with these changes to negative
- 9:34Speaker 4: gearing and capital.
- 9:35Speaker 8: Nick McKim was leader of the opposition in Tasmane. He's
- 9:39Speaker 8: a senator from TASMANI can you believe that such politically correct,
- 9:43Speaker 8: woke people who can't even use words like grandfathering about
- 9:47Speaker 8: a tax system are elected to the Senate. I mean,
- 9:50Speaker 8: I suppose they've got worse. They've got shoe Bridge, who's
- 9:53Speaker 8: an absolute extremist on national security, and Marine Ferruki who
- 9:59Speaker 8: scares the spine off most Australia.
- 10:02Speaker 3: Yes, well, she's got a few investment properties herself.
- 10:05Speaker 8: I've been thirteen, I think, and she was going to
- 10:07Speaker 8: be very upset these changes.
- 10:09Speaker 4: Thirteen allegedly. I'm not sure about that figure. Just in
- 10:11Speaker 4: case of mind, you migrant comes here, builds wealth. I'm
- 10:16Speaker 4: not decrying it, except the massive hypocrisy at play. Now
- 10:21Speaker 4: let's go to the crime issue in Melbourne, something we've
- 10:24Speaker 4: talked about a lot on this program. And again it's
- 10:28Speaker 4: pure luck that no one was killed when shots were
- 10:30Speaker 4: fired into a tobacco shop in Melbourne's West.
- 10:33Speaker 3: Have a look at this report.
- 10:35Speaker 4: Well, shots have been fired into a tobacco shop in
- 10:37Speaker 4: Melbourne's West the second shooting in the shopping strip in
- 10:40Speaker 4: just two months.
- 10:41Speaker 9: It was five point thirty last night when police believe
- 10:44Speaker 9: shots were fired from a moving vehicle.
- 10:46Speaker 3: Thankfully nobody was injured.
- 10:47Speaker 9: Of course, police will no doubt be looking into this
- 10:49Speaker 9: as to whether it's linked to the illicit tobacco trade.
- 10:52Speaker 9: What is interesting is just a couple of months ago,
- 10:55Speaker 9: a couple of shops down a volley of shots were fired.
- 10:58Speaker 10: Into a vaping cap.
- 11:00Speaker 9: In that instance, the forty nine year old man was
- 11:02Speaker 9: injured and police did link that to the ongoing tobacco wars.
- 11:07Speaker 9: Those wars have been somewhat overshadowed by the hospitality wars
- 11:11Speaker 9: that are currently raging in Melbourne.
- 11:15Speaker 4: Michael, Melbourne is in a crime crisis. We've got these
- 11:20Speaker 4: cases of hospitality terrorism we're calling it, with bars, restaurants,
- 11:26Speaker 4: strip clubs being fire bombs, shots fired, Kidnappings are now
- 11:32Speaker 4: again overnight. It's almost become commonplace. You're not even shocked
- 11:37Speaker 4: when you hear about these cases.
- 11:38Speaker 8: Well, we had a couple of going back to Commissioner Nixon,
- 11:43Speaker 8: politically correct police commissioners. We had an overconcentration on violent
- 11:48Speaker 8: dispersal of people during the coronavirus, and then we had
- 11:51Speaker 8: most of the poor coppers doing their overtime with the
- 11:54Speaker 8: ones on the ground at these Palestinian demonstrations. I wish
- 11:57Speaker 8: they were doing stopping homes or fighting crime like this.
- 12:03Speaker 8: The socialist Left government has such a huge deficit. It
- 12:06Speaker 8: doesn't have the money to pay for the police that
- 12:10Speaker 8: could turn back these incredible attacks on tobacco shops and
- 12:14Speaker 8: now the alcohol outlets.
- 12:16Speaker 3: It's yep, it's getting ugly out there. Now.
- 12:19Speaker 4: Before you go, I'm interested in your opinion on this
- 12:23Speaker 4: next story. Exposing the hypocrisy of the Green left. A
- 12:27Speaker 4: counselor for the UK Greens has proudly posted footage of
- 12:31Speaker 4: himself driving a Lamborghini. This is just days after he
- 12:35Speaker 4: was elected. This is a spider, I believe, which costs
- 12:39Speaker 4: upwards of two hundred and seventy thousand pounds. The video
- 12:43Speaker 4: appears to be shot back in twenty twenty three. Louise
- 12:47Speaker 4: in his campaign and this particular counselor promised to work
- 12:52Speaker 4: for greener spaces and supported taxes for billionaires not workers.
- 12:57Speaker 7: That's right, nothing says man of the people. Does it
- 13:00Speaker 7: like driving a half a million dollar orange Lamborghini, and
- 13:04Speaker 7: it's not even one of the quote nice Lamborghini. He's
- 13:06Speaker 7: not really a fan in a way.
- 13:08Speaker 8: It's a moon one.
- 13:09Speaker 7: It's a hoon one exactly preaching about it. We need
- 13:12Speaker 7: more tax on fuel and you know, get the bus,
- 13:15Speaker 7: don't drive around. But as for me, of course I'm
- 13:17Speaker 7: going to turn up in a luxury sports car and
- 13:20Speaker 7: preach to the masses and preach to the peasants. So
- 13:23Speaker 7: it's so green. So it's like straight out of the
- 13:24Speaker 7: Greens textbook, isn't it.
- 13:27Speaker 4: Yes, this is an animal farm all over again. And
- 13:31Speaker 4: the Greens we're seeing in the UK, and we'll see
- 13:34Speaker 4: it even more so locally. I think in a few
- 13:36Speaker 4: years is they're going to become a party of communists
- 13:40Speaker 4: and Islamists.
- 13:41Speaker 3: There's not going to be much Envira.
- 13:42Speaker 8: The read Green alliance there and Reader the five hundred
- 13:46Speaker 8: and seventeen sectarian candidates were elected in this landslide in
- 13:49Speaker 8: the UK council poll. So the UK is getting worse
- 13:55Speaker 8: and worse and worse.
- 13:57Speaker 4: A lot of them Greens and that's why I reform
- 13:59Speaker 4: one of those elections.
- 14:01Speaker 3: Michael Danby, Louis Roberts, thank you.
- 14:03Speaker 4: So much for your time well, let's get straight into
- 14:06Speaker 4: the latest royal and entertainment news. And joining me now
- 14:09Speaker 4: is broadcaster and Sky News contributor d D dune Levy
- 14:12Speaker 4: d D. We're gonna start with the ABC, our own ABC.
- 14:16Speaker 4: Former ABC journal Antoinette Latouf became emotional when she walked
- 14:21Speaker 4: back into the ABC after her legal battle with the
- 14:24Speaker 4: national broadcaster. She was back in the studio to talk
- 14:27Speaker 4: with Umi Steins.
- 14:29Speaker 10: All Right, how you going?
- 14:31Speaker 1: You're right, I don't know.
- 14:44Speaker 11: Thank you so being here with me. I think it's
- 14:48Speaker 11: important by I come back and reclaim my space and
- 14:52Speaker 11: safety because I did nothing dragged with the ring true help.
- 14:58Speaker 12: It's not easy.
- 15:00Speaker 3: Very emotional their d D.
- 15:01Speaker 4: She said she was made to feel like a criminal
- 15:04Speaker 4: or sex pest when she was ordered out of the building.
- 15:09Speaker 13: Nobody can make you feel anything. You're in charge of
- 15:11Speaker 13: your own feelings. So it's a bit dramatic, and it
- 15:14Speaker 13: all felt very performative to me. In fact, I didn't
- 15:17Speaker 13: just feel performed.
- 15:18Speaker 3: If it was performed, well, it was filmed and put
- 15:21Speaker 3: on social media.
- 15:22Speaker 13: So the ABC just opening the door, come on back in.
- 15:25Speaker 3: I mean that honestly. Well, it's our tax dollars.
- 15:28Speaker 4: The man of money the ABC squandered in that legal
- 15:31Speaker 4: fight and they lost.
- 15:34Speaker 3: And do they have any penalty? No, the tax pay
- 15:36Speaker 3: picks up the bill.
- 15:37Speaker 13: No, And left are the few listeners that they have,
- 15:41Speaker 13: which are very very few that have to put up
- 15:44Speaker 13: with that sort of pattern.
- 15:45Speaker 4: No.
- 15:45Speaker 3: I just I really don't like that.
- 15:48Speaker 10: That.
- 15:50Speaker 3: Yeah, the look at me, look at me, the look
- 15:52Speaker 3: how sad I am?
- 15:53Speaker 13: Yes, dab dab if the tears, this business that goes,
- 15:56Speaker 13: I don't know what that's supposed to achieve.
- 15:58Speaker 3: It's just I don't like it.
- 15:59Speaker 4: I don't well social media, there's a lot worse than
- 16:02Speaker 4: that on social media, people just filming themselves having emotional breakdowns,
- 16:07Speaker 4: then setting it to music and posting it online.
- 16:09Speaker 13: First I saw was with the recent in the ballroom
- 16:14Speaker 13: with in America with the latest attempt.
- 16:16Speaker 3: Oh yes, yes. One of the journalists was under a table.
- 16:19Speaker 13: She had the camera on herself, like someone should tell her,
- 16:22Speaker 13: you're a journalist, turn the.
- 16:23Speaker 4: Camera around, Phil, you might you might catch something exactly now.
- 16:27Speaker 4: Antoinettlatouf also spoke about how she dressed during her court
- 16:32Speaker 4: battle with the ABC, who she sued over an unlawful
- 16:36Speaker 4: termination claim.
- 16:37Speaker 1: Did you dress for going into battle?
- 16:40Speaker 12: Like?
- 16:40Speaker 14: What?
- 16:40Speaker 11: Was the thinking behind that.
- 16:41Speaker 1: It was strategic and thought out. It was armor. I
- 16:45Speaker 1: guess I also have the ability and the experience of
- 16:48Speaker 1: being a media professional for so many years. I mean,
- 16:50Speaker 1: I never really knew how hard it would be to
- 16:53Speaker 1: be on the other side. It's like, you can't look
- 16:55Speaker 1: too good, but don't look bad. Don't look confident, but
- 16:58Speaker 1: have a backbone. Oh my god, she's smiling, she's full
- 17:01Speaker 1: of herself.
- 17:01Speaker 3: Oh look she's crying.
- 17:02Speaker 1: She's sook. She brought it off. I just knew that
- 17:04Speaker 1: no matter what I did or wore, I was going
- 17:06Speaker 1: to be scrutinized. So I wanted to give them another story.
- 17:10Speaker 1: I was like, Okay, you want a story, I'll give
- 17:11Speaker 1: you one. I deliberately dressed like a mob wife.
- 17:15Speaker 4: A mob wife, Okay, that's good inspiration. I did like
- 17:19Speaker 4: that last outfit. I've got to say that was with
- 17:21Speaker 4: her slicked back hair. So it's interesting because to think
- 17:27Speaker 4: about that, to think about how you're dressing to court
- 17:31Speaker 4: and how the media is going to report what you're wearing.
- 17:35Speaker 13: Look, it does matter because remember those images of Nigela
- 17:37Speaker 13: Lawson walking into court, and she had that what she
- 17:40Speaker 13: was almost doing mob wife as well. But she had
- 17:42Speaker 13: her chin in the air and her shoulders back, and
- 17:44Speaker 13: it really sets the tone.
- 17:46Speaker 3: But the most telling part of that clip you just
- 17:48Speaker 3: played was just watch at the very.
- 17:49Speaker 13: Beginning where she glances up at the camera.
- 17:52Speaker 3: It's like, oh, you're getting this.
- 17:54Speaker 13: It comes back to this thing if you think she's
- 17:55Speaker 13: doing as a performance, and which makes it all feel
- 17:57Speaker 13: a bit inauthentic.
- 17:59Speaker 4: Now talking about inauthentic, Megan Markle is facing backlash over
- 18:03Speaker 4: a planned reality TV stunt which would see her and
- 18:07Speaker 4: Prince Harry recreate their vows to celebrate their eight year
- 18:10Speaker 4: anniversary that's coming up on May nineteen. One insider familiar
- 18:15Speaker 4: with the discussions told Raider Online there is a growing
- 18:18Speaker 4: feeling that this idea risks blurring the line between authenticity
- 18:23Speaker 4: and performance. A vow renewal is typically an intimate reaffirmation,
- 18:29Speaker 4: but positioning in it as a centerpiece of a reality
- 18:32Speaker 4: style project makes it feel more like a calculated production.
- 18:36Speaker 3: Than a personal moment.
- 18:38Speaker 4: DEDI I mean this couple is thirsty, as the kids say, thirsty.
- 18:43Speaker 3: Well, thirsty slash desperate. Well they are what's their income?
- 18:48Speaker 13: Every task or every project that they've set out on
- 18:52Speaker 13: has failed, and I think they're just scratching around to
- 18:55Speaker 13: make money in any particular way. They're clearly inspired by
- 18:58Speaker 13: Ellen Degenerous and Portrait de Rossi, who renewed their vows
- 19:01Speaker 13: in twenty twenty three.
- 19:02Speaker 3: Remember christ Jenna was their officiation for ceremony, and they
- 19:06Speaker 3: got a lot of attention for that.
- 19:08Speaker 13: Harry and Meghan have been married for eight years.
- 19:11Speaker 4: I was not even a milestone yet. If it was
- 19:13Speaker 4: that ten year anniversary, twenty five year still would be tacky,
- 19:18Speaker 4: but at least there would be some reason to have
- 19:20Speaker 4: a vowing mule. Yeah, it seems odd to be having
- 19:23Speaker 4: it at eight years in. What are you saying we
- 19:24Speaker 4: survived the seven year rich It's yeah, it's.
- 19:28Speaker 3: A little bit odd. Now I want to pray you.
- 19:30Speaker 4: This clip of UFC President and CEO Dana White calling
- 19:36Speaker 4: out the media industry, it's brutal.
- 19:39Speaker 12: My biggest problem with the media, Who and what the
- 19:44Speaker 12: have you ever done nothing? You're nobody and you've never
- 19:49Speaker 12: done anything ever. Nobody's ever depended on you for a paycheck?
- 19:55Speaker 12: Who are you to criticize anybody?
- 20:00Speaker 3: Deady?
- 20:00Speaker 4: The man's I think a self made billionaire. He hires
- 20:04Speaker 4: plenty of people. I guess he's very much entitled to
- 20:07Speaker 4: that opinion.
- 20:08Speaker 13: Well, yeah, and as a journalist, I don't know, Like
- 20:10Speaker 13: I do feel that he's our job as journalists to
- 20:13Speaker 13: ask questions of people.
- 20:15Speaker 3: But he is back quite right. It's not a court,
- 20:18Speaker 3: he's not.
- 20:20Speaker 13: Obligated to answer questions from journalists, and so he's right,
- 20:24Speaker 13: and he has more expertise in his field than any
- 20:27Speaker 13: of them might have. It does seem very much so,
- 20:30Speaker 13: and I think it's right. He's spoken like this before.
- 20:32Speaker 4: That he's been badly treated by the media well, because
- 20:35Speaker 4: he's so close with Trump, him and Trump personal friends,
- 20:38Speaker 4: and there's always pressure being exerted on the UFC, on
- 20:41Speaker 4: him personally because of those links, and he's sick of it.
- 20:45Speaker 4: Now before you go, Golf superstar Tiger Woods has hit
- 20:48Speaker 4: another roadblock in his ongoing DUI case, with a Florida
- 20:52Speaker 4: judge ruling that prosecutors will have access to his prescription
- 20:56Speaker 4: drug history prior to his crash on March twenty seven.
- 20:59Speaker 3: Diddy. Woods is reportedly still in with Switzerland receiving treatment
- 21:03Speaker 3: following his arrest two months ago.
- 21:06Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 21:06Speaker 13: Well, I think he's doing about three months in that
- 21:08Speaker 13: rehab there. This would be embarrassing for him, and I
- 21:12Speaker 13: understand why his representatives fought against having his prescription made public,
- 21:18Speaker 13: but I actually don't think it's going to hurt his
- 21:19Speaker 13: image in the public eyes because there are so many
- 21:22Speaker 13: Americans who have fallen into the same trap where they've
- 21:27Speaker 13: been prescribed opioids as pain relief and it's then spiraled
- 21:31Speaker 13: into some sort of drug habit. So it's something a
- 21:33Speaker 13: lot of people have gone through and something that I
- 21:35Speaker 13: think a lot of people will have sympathy for. He
- 21:37Speaker 13: may be rich and famous, but he would aken hurt
- 21:40Speaker 13: after his surgeries and accidents the same way normal people have,
- 21:43Speaker 13: so it may not be a bad thing for him
- 21:45Speaker 13: after all.
- 21:46Speaker 4: And there's just so much good will for him and
- 21:48Speaker 4: so many people wanting him to fully recover and be
- 21:51Speaker 4: the legend that he is. Did he dun Levy, think
- 21:54Speaker 4: you so much for it. Thanks for still to come.
- 21:56Speaker 4: Left is Losing and plus all the last from the
- 21:59Speaker 4: un including President Trump's unprecedented move concerning his trip to China.
- 22:05Speaker 3: John Heinderecher is next.
- 22:16Speaker 4: You're watching the Rida Paney Show, and it's time for
- 22:19Speaker 4: Lefties Losing It and time for a weekly.
- 22:23Speaker 3: Visit with the ladies of the View could be a
- 22:26Speaker 3: nightly visit. But I wouldn't do that to you. That
- 22:28Speaker 3: would be cruel and unusual. Here the whole panel.
- 22:32Speaker 4: Loses their teeny tiny minds because an actor dared to
- 22:35Speaker 4: state the obvious that being an actor being good at
- 22:38Speaker 4: pretending doesn't make you an expert on politics, social issues,
- 22:43Speaker 4: or anything else outside of acting. Let's first hear from
- 22:47Speaker 4: Oscar winner Billy Bob Thornton, not really.
- 22:50Speaker 14: Big on like had award shows, all of a sudden
- 22:52Speaker 14: start talking about saving the Badgers and stuff like you'll
- 22:55Speaker 14: get your like Ricky Gervaise, get your little ward. And
- 22:59Speaker 14: you know I don't know anything about politics. I have
- 23:02Speaker 14: no idea I mean and if and the stuff that
- 23:04Speaker 14: I believe about it. I don't want to force it
- 23:07Speaker 14: down somebody else's throat because I'm not an expert on that.
- 23:11Speaker 4: Oh well, that was enough to set off the angry
- 23:14Speaker 4: ladies of the View, who love nothing more than shoving
- 23:17Speaker 4: their ill informed opinions down the throats of their long
- 23:20Speaker 4: suffering audience.
- 23:21Speaker 3: Let's start with Joy Behain.
- 23:24Speaker 15: Bragging about how one informed you are. Yeah, you know
- 23:27Speaker 15: you're an American citizen, don't you want to? Well, I
- 23:29Speaker 15: would say they read the paper.
- 23:31Speaker 16: I do think the civic participation, our vote is a privilege.
- 23:34Speaker 3: That so many have died for and fought for that.
- 23:37Speaker 15: But they have an influence. I mean Springsteen right now,
- 23:41Speaker 15: and Robert de Niro yeahs no.
- 23:44Speaker 3: They have sodas.
- 23:45Speaker 15: Wait a minute, so does John Voyd and Kid Rock.
- 23:48Speaker 15: They all of them have the right to speak out
- 23:51Speaker 15: and they use your platform. And only people.
- 23:56Speaker 4: Really enjoy Comparing the unhinged antiques of Robert De Niro
- 24:00Speaker 4: in recent years to Kid Rock and John Void.
- 24:02Speaker 3: Not exactly the same, is it. Now?
- 24:04Speaker 4: Let's see a more hysterical sounds and reaction to Billy
- 24:08Speaker 4: Bob Thornton, this time courtesy of the perpetually miserable Sunny Houstin.
- 24:13Speaker 16: We're at a crisis points in this country. I think
- 24:16Speaker 16: democracy is participatory. I think when you have a platform,
- 24:21Speaker 16: that means you have an outsized voice. And when you
- 24:23Speaker 16: have a platform, I think that you have a responsibility
- 24:27Speaker 16: to speak up about what's going on in this country.
- 24:30Speaker 16: And my view, silence is complicity.
- 24:33Speaker 3: Every single long, every.
- 24:35Speaker 15: Day we got closer to an autocracy in this country.
- 24:38Speaker 15: We're about to lose it. I think that people don't
- 24:40Speaker 15: seem to understand what's.
- 24:42Speaker 3: Going on autocracy. I mean, these people are deranged. Let's
- 24:46Speaker 3: not forget it was just a few months ago when Joy.
- 24:49Speaker 4: Beahau was claiming that the midterms wouldn't happen, that Donald
- 24:52Speaker 4: Trump was going to end all elections, Like.
- 24:55Speaker 3: I said, deranged.
- 24:57Speaker 4: Now Here is a celebrity being attacked for saying something
- 25:01Speaker 4: when in character. This isn't Sidney Sweeney talking, it's her
- 25:05Speaker 4: character in Euphoria, Cassie Howard. And yet this little clip
- 25:09Speaker 4: has sent the left into fits of unbridled rage.
- 25:13Speaker 5: Look, if a man today were to say that he
- 25:15Speaker 5: wants a girlfriend that can cocker clean, you might as
- 25:17Speaker 5: well be screaming the inward.
- 25:19Speaker 6: Okay, well, you sound like a democrat.
- 25:24Speaker 5: I'm not retorted.
- 25:26Speaker 4: Now back to the dangerously uninformed, and let's hear it
- 25:30Speaker 4: from Alexandra Orcazio Cortez, who made this startling claim about
- 25:35Speaker 4: the American Revolution.
- 25:37Speaker 2: The American Revolution was against the billionaires of their time,
- 25:44Speaker 2: and we're declaring independence from such an extreme marriage of
- 25:49Speaker 2: wealth and power and the state.
- 25:52Speaker 4: So one minute, the American Revolution was all about toxic
- 25:56Speaker 4: white masculinity, and now it was a revolution against wealthy
- 26:02Speaker 4: Someone needs to tell AOC. The American Revolution was in
- 26:04Speaker 4: fact led by some of the richest people in the
- 26:08Speaker 4: Thirteen Colonies. Indeed, Robert Morris, considered the richest man in
- 26:12Speaker 4: America at the time, used his own personal wealth to
- 26:15Speaker 4: finance much of the American Revolution.
- 26:19Speaker 3: Now, what the Democrats really excel at is lying. We
- 26:22Speaker 3: know that, and.
- 26:22Speaker 4: They could not resist deliberately and dishonestly cutting this next
- 26:27Speaker 4: clip to make it look like President Trump does not
- 26:30Speaker 4: give us stuff about the economic pressures Americans are under.
- 26:34Speaker 4: Here is what the Democrats made viral on social media
- 26:37Speaker 4: earlier today.
- 26:38Speaker 15: I don't think about American financial situation.
- 26:42Speaker 3: I don't think about anybody.
- 26:43Speaker 6: I think about what's saying.
- 26:45Speaker 4: Yes, you just heard the President say, I don't think
- 26:48Speaker 4: about Americans financial situation. That's the clip the left cut
- 26:53Speaker 4: up earlier today and went to town on only one
- 26:56Speaker 4: little problem context. The President was a sering a question
- 27:01Speaker 4: about the war in Iran and what motivates his decision
- 27:04Speaker 4: making in that conflict. Let's look at the bits the
- 27:08Speaker 4: Democrats deliberately cut from that video.
- 27:11Speaker 10: Am I only restating with Iran and the present? What
- 27:13Speaker 10: extent are American financial things mating or to.
- 27:16Speaker 17: Meeting you to make it mean not even a little bit.
- 27:20Speaker 15: The only thing that matters is when I'm.
- 27:21Speaker 17: Talking about Iran, they can't have a new blue weapon.
- 27:24Speaker 10: I don't think about.
- 27:26Speaker 15: American financial situation.
- 27:28Speaker 10: I don't think about anybody.
- 27:29Speaker 17: I think about what things we cannot let Iran.
- 27:33Speaker 18: Have a new blue weapon. That's the only thing.
- 27:36Speaker 3: That the reporter asks when negotiating with Iran.
- 27:40Speaker 4: To what extent are American's financial situation motivating you to
- 27:44Speaker 4: make a deal. It would be profoundly weak and would
- 27:49Speaker 4: send every wrong signal to Iran and the world if
- 27:52Speaker 4: Trump said American domestic politics was putting pressure on him
- 27:56Speaker 4: to make a deal. Let's bring in Center for the
- 28:00Speaker 4: American Experiment, President and co founder of the popular power
- 28:03Speaker 4: Line blog, John Heindereicher.
- 28:06Speaker 3: John, do you ever.
- 28:07Speaker 4: Get sick of these fake outrages? They seem to happen daily.
- 28:14Speaker 17: We see this every single day, And you know it's
- 28:17Speaker 17: a fake outrage when the clip consists of a sentence fragment,
- 28:20Speaker 17: when you don't even hear the whole sentence that Trump
- 28:23Speaker 17: or whoever is saying, zero context, You don't know what
- 28:27Speaker 17: question is answering. You don't hear the whole answer. You
- 28:30Speaker 17: know that they are lying to you.
- 28:33Speaker 3: Absolutely said when it comes to Iran, I don't care
- 28:37Speaker 3: about so and so. So that was the key part. Now,
- 28:41Speaker 3: staying with the media, tell me about this New York.
- 28:44Speaker 4: Times piece from two times Pullitzerprise winner Nicholas Christoph.
- 28:50Speaker 3: He claims sexual.
- 28:52Speaker 4: Violence by Israeli forces against Palestinians is widespread. He says
- 28:57Speaker 4: they exist a pattern of system abuse and unrestrained power
- 29:02Speaker 4: within Israeli detention centers.
- 29:05Speaker 3: Have a look.
- 29:05Speaker 6: When Israel was attacked on October seventh, twenty twenty three,
- 29:09Speaker 6: officials were quick to condemn the sexual violence of Hamas.
- 29:13Speaker 12: You've heard of the rape of Israeli women.
- 29:16Speaker 10: Where the hell are you women?
- 29:17Speaker 3: Raped?
- 29:18Speaker 12: Assault and paraded as trophies?
- 29:20Speaker 6: Use this rape as a weapon of war, sexual violence
- 29:23Speaker 6: as a weapon of war by Hamas. I went to
- 29:25Speaker 6: the West Bank to talk with Palestinians who experienced sexual
- 29:29Speaker 6: assault firsthand by Israeli soldiers, settlers and prison guards. They're
- 29:35Speaker 6: harrowing accounts, backed by lawyers, surveys, and international reports, suggests
- 29:41Speaker 6: that sexual violence by Israelis against Palestinians is widespread, and
- 29:47Speaker 6: that raises the question where is their revulsion against sexual
- 29:51Speaker 6: assault now?
- 29:54Speaker 4: Now Understandably, this report is getting a lot of attention. John,
- 29:58Speaker 4: You've written about it for the Powline blog. What is
- 30:01Speaker 4: your assessment of the New York Times reporting?
- 30:05Speaker 17: Well read of The New York Times has long been
- 30:07Speaker 17: a front for Hamas. Christoph's opinion column is based on
- 30:12Speaker 17: talking to a couple of very unreliable sources. He gets
- 30:16Speaker 17: a lot of his information from something called euro med Monitor,
- 30:19Speaker 17: which sounds like a mainstream organization, but in fact it
- 30:22Speaker 17: is run by associates of Hamas, and the first person
- 30:26Speaker 17: he quotes in the article is somebody he describes as
- 30:29Speaker 17: a quote freelance journalist named Sammy al Sai. In fact,
- 30:34Speaker 17: this is a guy who celebrated Hamas's October seventh massacre
- 30:39Speaker 17: and has twice been jailed for inciting terrorism. So basically,
- 30:43Speaker 17: Nicholas Christoph is passing on Hamas' propaganda and coincidentally, or
- 30:49Speaker 17: maybe not, Christoph's column appeared on the same day that
- 30:52Speaker 17: the Israelis released an exhaustive report based on thousands of
- 30:57Speaker 17: photographs and videos, mostly shot by Hamas fighters, that document
- 31:03Speaker 17: countless real instances of rape and sexual abuse by Hamas
- 31:07Speaker 17: on October seventh, and it looks as if The Times
- 31:11Speaker 17: is trying to deflect attention from what really happened by
- 31:15Speaker 17: promoting what didn't happen.
- 31:18Speaker 4: Why are they so committed to this position? Why are
- 31:21Speaker 4: they willing to die on this hill?
- 31:25Speaker 17: You know, for whatever reason, hatred of Israel has become
- 31:30Speaker 17: almost the organizing principle of the American left and really
- 31:34Speaker 17: the worldwide left. Heating Israel has become their number one priority.
- 31:39Speaker 17: And it doesn't matter how dishonest they have to be,
- 31:42Speaker 17: how far they have to go. We see this over
- 31:45Speaker 17: and over again in the left wing press.
- 31:49Speaker 4: Now, the US State Department released as statement overnight confirming
- 31:53Speaker 4: the United States refused to participate in the UN's review
- 31:58Speaker 4: of the Global Compact on Microation. The United States objects
- 32:02Speaker 4: to the Global Compact on Migration, the statement said, and
- 32:05Speaker 4: UN efforts to facilitate replacement migration to the United States
- 32:09Speaker 4: and our Western allies. John The statement also went on
- 32:13Speaker 4: to say UN agencies systematically facilitated mass migration into America
- 32:18Speaker 4: and Europe, even as citizens of those nations called for
- 32:22Speaker 4: restrictions on migration.
- 32:26Speaker 3: RITA.
- 32:26Speaker 17: The US has not joined that UN compact because it
- 32:30Speaker 17: basically is designed to encourage and to facilitate the mass
- 32:34Speaker 17: migration of people from third world countries to develop countries,
- 32:38Speaker 17: and it makes no distinction between legal and illegal immigration.
- 32:43Speaker 17: UN agencies have actually been present on the ground in
- 32:47Speaker 17: Mexico and Central America helping to guide illegal immigrants into
- 32:52Speaker 17: the US. The UN has been undermining our laws and
- 32:56Speaker 17: undermining our sovereignty, and the Trump administration is right to
- 33:01Speaker 17: have nothing to do with this compact.
- 33:04Speaker 4: Now, let's talk about the much anticipated trip prison Trump
- 33:09Speaker 4: is taking to China. John, what are going to be
- 33:12Speaker 4: the top agenda items outside of trade.
- 33:16Speaker 17: Well, trade is certainly going to be on the agenda
- 33:18Speaker 17: read and it's probably going to be the easiest area
- 33:21Speaker 17: to announce some agreements. Iran, of course, is going to
- 33:25Speaker 17: be discussed. Trump wants China to lean on the Iranian
- 33:30Speaker 17: regime to make some kind of a deal on nuclear materials.
- 33:33Speaker 17: I don't think China will do that unless they get
- 33:36Speaker 17: something important in return. Trump is also, I think, going
- 33:40Speaker 17: to complain about Chinese purchases of sanctioned Iranian oil and
- 33:44Speaker 17: also sanctioned Russian oil, and I think there could be
- 33:48Speaker 17: some broader discussion about the fact that we have choked
- 33:52Speaker 17: off Chinese access to oil from both Venezuela and now
- 33:57Speaker 17: Iran that they were getting at below market rates, and
- 34:01Speaker 17: so it'll be interesting to see where that conversation goes.
- 34:06Speaker 4: How much influence does China have when it comes to Iran,
- 34:10Speaker 4: because we know the regime is so fractured in Iran.
- 34:15Speaker 4: Even if you've got government officials listening to Beijing, it
- 34:20Speaker 4: doesn't mean that IRGC is going to follow through and
- 34:23Speaker 4: do as they wish.
- 34:26Speaker 17: It's hard to see how much influence China or anybody
- 34:29Speaker 17: else has over whoever in the IRGC is now in
- 34:33Speaker 17: charge in Iran. I'm not even sure who that is,
- 34:36Speaker 17: and so any pressure that China could bring to bear
- 34:39Speaker 17: is probably less than the pressure we're already bringing to bear.
- 34:42Speaker 17: So I'm just not sure how far that conversation can
- 34:46Speaker 17: even go.
- 34:48Speaker 13: Now.
- 34:49Speaker 4: President Trump is traveling with some of the most powerful
- 34:52Speaker 4: business leaders in the country. His entourage includes Elon Musk
- 34:56Speaker 4: Will know who is, Tim Cook from Apple, Goldman Sachs,
- 35:00Speaker 4: David Solomon, Met Dana McCormick, Jane Fraser from City Group,
- 35:04Speaker 4: and H Lawrence Kulp from ge Aerospace, and several others.
- 35:10Speaker 4: John is it normal for a president to have so
- 35:13Speaker 4: many business leaders in his traveling party.
- 35:17Speaker 17: I think It's unprecedented. I can't remember a time when
- 35:20Speaker 17: a president has not just traveled with business leaders, but
- 35:22Speaker 17: with business leaders of this magnitude Iamond. This is an
- 35:26Speaker 17: unbelievable group that is going to China. There have been
- 35:30Speaker 17: reports that Trump wants to talk about artificial intelligence, and
- 35:35Speaker 17: the fact that he's going to have Elon Musk and
- 35:38Speaker 17: Tim Cook and Dinah McCormick as part of that group
- 35:42Speaker 17: I think suggests that that report could be true. But
- 35:45Speaker 17: I don't know what kind of agreement Trump wants to
- 35:48Speaker 17: reach or what kind of conversation he wants to have
- 35:51Speaker 17: with the Chinese about artificial intelligence.
- 35:55Speaker 4: John, Let's go to Washington State or Washington DC, where
- 35:58Speaker 4: businesses and high net were individuals are fleeing. Among them
- 36:02Speaker 4: a manufacturer Delta Camshaft, which is leaving the state after
- 36:05Speaker 4: nearly fifty years, with its owner siding rising crime, rising taxes,
- 36:10Speaker 4: and a worsening political climate. It's pretty green, but the
- 36:14Speaker 4: mayor of Seattle seems to think it's a big fat joke.
- 36:18Speaker 18: I think the claims that millionaires are going to leave
- 36:20Speaker 18: our state are like super overblown. And if you know
- 36:24Speaker 18: the ones that leave like bye, so.
- 36:32Speaker 4: John, that particularly individual has barely held a real job
- 36:36Speaker 4: in her life, has built nothing, built no wealth, and
- 36:40Speaker 4: that's her attitude to those who are doing all the
- 36:43Speaker 4: heavy lifting in her state.
- 36:47Speaker 17: Yeah, and that attitude is surprisingly common. We've seen it
- 36:50Speaker 17: in New York where Zorrahn mom Dannie did that crazy
- 36:54Speaker 17: video where he's standing in front of Ken Griffin's apartment
- 36:58Speaker 17: building and denouncing Griffin like he wanted someone to assassinate
- 37:03Speaker 17: him or something. I mean, these attitudes are just outrageous.
- 37:07Speaker 17: We're seeing the same thing in my home city of Minneapolis,
- 37:10Speaker 17: same attitude of they're just as happy, seemingly to drive
- 37:14Speaker 17: out businesses and drive out job creators. And of course
- 37:18Speaker 17: the reaction to that is that people are leaving those
- 37:20Speaker 17: cities and they're moving to cities where there's a good
- 37:23Speaker 17: business climate and where they can be safer.
- 37:27Speaker 4: And we saw the same attitude from the New York
- 37:30Speaker 4: Governor Kathy Hoekol. But then when it actually happened, when
- 37:34Speaker 4: people did start fleeing, she's done a what eighties. She's
- 37:37Speaker 4: asking for them to come back and to contribute to
- 37:40Speaker 4: the stage. And I think we're going to get here
- 37:42Speaker 4: a similar regret from the likes of Zorn Mandani and
- 37:45Speaker 4: Katie Wilson. But let's stick with Katie Wilson, the mayor
- 37:48Speaker 4: of Seattle. Let's hear her argue against CCTV, saying it
- 37:53Speaker 4: puts the immigrant community at risk. And let's hear say
- 37:57Speaker 4: this while we see clear footing each of Ahmed Abdullah OSMD,
- 38:02Speaker 4: who beta frail seventy seven year old man in Seattle
- 38:05Speaker 4: and was court thanks to CCTV.
- 38:08Speaker 18: This is legislation that will expand CCTV cameras that could
- 38:13Speaker 18: potentially be taken control of by the Trump administration. And
- 38:17Speaker 18: this is legislation that was opposed by immigrants rights groups,
- 38:21Speaker 18: by civil liberties groups, and by the Member of Color
- 38:23Speaker 18: Caucus in the legislature. And I'll quote from their letter.
- 38:27Speaker 18: This technology and technology similar to it has recently been
- 38:30Speaker 18: in the news for its failure to be meaningfully and
- 38:33Speaker 18: consistently secured, leading to breaches that could result in sensitive
- 38:36Speaker 18: data being shared by ICE and putting our immigrant and
- 38:39Speaker 18: refugee communities at risk.
- 38:42Speaker 4: John, these socialists mayors are a menace, and not just
- 38:46Speaker 4: as far as economics goes. They are economic vandals, but
- 38:49Speaker 4: they're dangerous ideologues when it comes to law and order.
- 38:55Speaker 17: Well, this is a great example where Katie Wilson doesn't
- 38:58Speaker 17: want to install cameras that will prevent violent crimes and
- 39:01Speaker 17: also help to solve violent crimes because they might make
- 39:05Speaker 17: illegal immigrants nervous, and she starts talking about the Trump
- 39:08Speaker 17: administration as if that's got something to do with that.
- 39:12Speaker 17: Her priorities are insane. But Rita, you do have to
- 39:15Speaker 17: wonder why do people vote for politicians like this. I mean,
- 39:19Speaker 17: she didn't make a secret of reviews when she ran
- 39:22Speaker 17: for mayor of Seattle. I would say that to a
- 39:24Speaker 17: great extent, citizens in some of these blue cities are
- 39:28Speaker 17: getting what they voted.
- 39:29Speaker 4: For, absolutely, and they keep voting for more. John Heindereicher,
- 39:34Speaker 4: thank you so much for your time. Tonight, still to come,
- 39:37Speaker 4: a new guest on the program, Stella Escabedo, will join
- 39:40Speaker 4: us to discuss the failing state that is California.
- 39:44Speaker 3: Stella Escabedo is up next, Welcome back.
- 39:57Speaker 4: The Spencer campaign to be marri of La got another
- 40:01Speaker 4: boost when supporters put together this latest ad.
- 40:15Speaker 3: You didn't finish burning the city to the ground in
- 40:17Speaker 3: your first term, make sure you finish the job in
- 40:19Speaker 3: your second. The only thing that can stop us is
- 40:22Speaker 3: someone telling the truth. As long as they don't have
- 40:25Speaker 3: any hope, the city's ours.
- 40:33Speaker 16: Nobody's ever done this before, no one's ever spoken truth
- 40:40Speaker 16: to power in La.
- 40:52Speaker 10: If one man's brave enough to think things can change,
- 40:55Speaker 10: everyone will realize things can change.
- 40:57Speaker 12: You need to stop him.
- 41:02Speaker 4: Joining me now is Emmy award winning journalists and host
- 41:05Speaker 4: of stellen Is Stella Escabato Stella. Spencer Pratt is he
- 41:10Speaker 4: still an outsider. He seems to be closing the gap
- 41:14Speaker 4: very quickly with the incumbent Karen Bass. But I guess
- 41:17Speaker 4: she's got all the institutional support behind her.
- 41:21Speaker 10: You're right, Rita, thank you for having me on. I
- 41:23Speaker 10: got to tell you, you know, she's got the money,
- 41:25Speaker 10: She's got the establishment money. But the brilliance behind Spencer
- 41:29Speaker 10: Pratt's campaign is something Los Angeles has not seen. I
- 41:34Speaker 10: grew up in Los Angeles. I lived there since I
- 41:36Speaker 10: was nine years old. Los Angeles is unrecognizable skid row
- 41:42Speaker 10: where they have homeless people living in. Used to be
- 41:44Speaker 10: it was called skid roll because it's a row. It's
- 41:47Speaker 10: fifty blocks. Now the homeless industrial complex, I mean, Rita,
- 41:53Speaker 10: billions of dollars have been spent to make the homelessness
- 41:57Speaker 10: go away and it's only gotten worse. So the feeling
- 42:00Speaker 10: in Los Angeles is, yeah, he's an outsider, meaning he's
- 42:04Speaker 10: not establishment, but he was born and raised in Los Angeles.
- 42:08Speaker 10: And there is hope because he is talking about the
- 42:11Speaker 10: issues that matter to Angelino's the most. And Rita his
- 42:15Speaker 10: home burned in the Palisades. His mother's home burned down,
- 42:18Speaker 10: and you know what, it burned down under Karen Bassa's
- 42:22Speaker 10: watch the American dream. In America, they say an American
- 42:26Speaker 10: dream is when you own a home. That American dream
- 42:28Speaker 10: was taken away from him, his young family, his wife,
- 42:32Speaker 10: and many other Angelinos. And so he's running on this
- 42:35Speaker 10: incredible platform and the ads, the ads are just on fire.
- 42:39Speaker 10: I love it.
- 42:41Speaker 4: Spencer Pratt does seem to have real insight in to
- 42:44Speaker 4: have the media operates. He's full CBS to publish their
- 42:48Speaker 4: unedited twenty seven minute interview with him after he accused
- 42:51Speaker 4: them of turning the interview into a hit pace for
- 42:54Speaker 4: Karen Bass's pr team. Pratt held the interview with CBS
- 42:58Speaker 4: at his school specific palisites Lot, which was then edited
- 43:02Speaker 4: into a biased five minute package. CBS has now published
- 43:07Speaker 4: the full version unedited, resulting in posting on x a
- 43:11Speaker 4: new era of responsible journalism. Thank you to CBS for
- 43:15Speaker 4: posting our full interview so the voters can hear from.
- 43:18Speaker 3: Their next may Stella.
- 43:20Speaker 4: He gets the media, seems to get messaging better than
- 43:24Speaker 4: many politicians.
- 43:26Speaker 10: Listen. He basically put CBS on notice. Also, he said, hey, CBS,
- 43:31Speaker 10: if you don't release the full version of this interview,
- 43:35Speaker 10: I will not give you one interview. And I think
- 43:37Speaker 10: that also scared them. But I have to tell you
- 43:40Speaker 10: I worked for CBS. I worked for mainstream media for
- 43:42Speaker 10: many years. I worked in Los Angeles. I worked in
- 43:45Speaker 10: those newsrooms, and there is a lot of bias. And
- 43:48Speaker 10: Spencer Pratt is coming out and he's saying, I'm not
- 43:50Speaker 10: playing these games with you guys. Okay, enough of this establishment.
- 43:54Speaker 10: This is a nonpartisan race, meaning it's not Democrats, not Republican,
- 43:57Speaker 10: it's not independent. It's for Angelina and Angelino's are sick
- 44:01Speaker 10: and tired of the same old problems that we're facing.
- 44:06Speaker 10: I mean, listen, he's running on a campaign of making
- 44:10Speaker 10: La safer for moms and children. Moms don't even feel
- 44:13Speaker 10: safe to take their strollers, their babies and their strollers
- 44:17Speaker 10: to parks because there's druggies there's homeless people all over
- 44:21Speaker 10: the place, and California is an expensive place to live.
- 44:25Speaker 10: When you live in Los Angeles and all of your
- 44:27Speaker 10: money is going to taxes, and then they're taxing you
- 44:29Speaker 10: to death and then taking that money again for the homelessness.
- 44:33Speaker 10: That the homelessess just continues to get worse. It's like
- 44:36Speaker 10: enough is enough.
- 44:38Speaker 3: I can understand that.
- 44:40Speaker 4: But when you look at the demographics, it's those moms
- 44:42Speaker 4: that tend to overwhelmingly support Democrats and leftist policy positions,
- 44:48Speaker 4: leftist politicians. How did they come to terms with that?
- 44:53Speaker 4: How do they come to terms to say, seeing Los
- 44:55Speaker 4: Angeles slowly destroyed, and yet they keep backing this same party,
- 45:00Speaker 4: the same politics.
- 45:03Speaker 10: I think it comes from hearing from somebody that says, look,
- 45:07Speaker 10: my main goal and my main mission is to make
- 45:11Speaker 10: your life better. And he is resonating with Democrats, he
- 45:16Speaker 10: is resonating with rep He's resonating with every single Angelino
- 45:21Speaker 10: because for the first time ever, you have a candidate
- 45:24Speaker 10: that you can't ignore. There's billboards all over the place,
- 45:27Speaker 10: there's these ads that are all over social media, and
- 45:30Speaker 10: a lot of you know, the younger families like his age,
- 45:33Speaker 10: they live online and they're seeing it and they're like, yeah,
- 45:36Speaker 10: that is my reality. Yeah that is Yeah. When I
- 45:39Speaker 10: pull up to a grocery store and I have homeless
- 45:41Speaker 10: people and I'm afraid to get out of my car,
- 45:43Speaker 10: or I have to lock my doors because I don't
- 45:45Speaker 10: know what's going to happen, or there was a murder
- 45:47Speaker 10: there just down the street, and I live in a
- 45:49Speaker 10: very nice neighborhood. It's not saying he's resonating.
- 45:54Speaker 12: He is.
- 45:55Speaker 3: Now we're going to get back to California.
- 45:56Speaker 4: But I just want to ask you about the rise
- 45:59Speaker 4: of these socialists in America. They call themselves democrats socialists,
- 46:04Speaker 4: but the socialists, I'd call them communists. He got zarn Man,
- 46:07Speaker 4: Donnie New York, Kaddie Wilson in Seattle, You've got IOSA
- 46:11Speaker 4: in Congress. How powerful is this movement within the Democrats?
- 46:17Speaker 10: Okay, so you hit it. You nailed it. Their DSA
- 46:20Speaker 10: Democrats Socialists of America. And I'm so happy you're covering
- 46:23Speaker 10: it because a lot of people don't even know who
- 46:24Speaker 10: they are in America. Even Spencer Pratt when he's talking
- 46:27Speaker 10: about DSA. You know Nicia Rahman, the other woman who's running,
- 46:30Speaker 10: she is a DSA member. So when he goes out
- 46:32Speaker 10: there and he's talking to people that are like, what's DSA?
- 46:35Speaker 10: There is Lamo Marxist. That's what they are. That's what
- 46:38Speaker 10: they are. They want to destroy America and they are
- 46:41Speaker 10: left of life. When you bring up aoc AOC is
- 46:44Speaker 10: not even Shockingly, she is not even DSA. I'm telling
- 46:49Speaker 10: you Rita. Like when people say that, I'm like, no, no,
- 46:52Speaker 10: she actually voted in favor of something for Israel, for
- 46:54Speaker 10: the Iron Dome. DSA wants a complete destruction, complete revolution
- 47:01Speaker 10: in the United States of America. Islamo Marxist. Look what's
- 47:04Speaker 10: happening in Mandami's NYC, you know, these protests has Bulahamas
- 47:10Speaker 10: literally happening as we speak right now in Jewish neighborhoods.
- 47:14Speaker 10: And by the way, Mandamie marched with these people up
- 47:18Speaker 10: until the day he became a mayor, and up until
- 47:22Speaker 10: right now he hasn't said anything about what is happening
- 47:25Speaker 10: in these neighborhoods, And neither has the first Lady of NYC, who,
- 47:29Speaker 10: by the way, you know, cheered on October seventh and
- 47:33Speaker 10: casually throws around the N word.
- 47:37Speaker 4: Well, yes, some of the posts she was liking were
- 47:41Speaker 4: just absolutely shocking a youth that household is something else.
- 47:46Speaker 4: Now back to California and the mayor of Arcadia, Eileen Wang,
- 47:51Speaker 4: has been charged with acting as an illegal foreign agent
- 47:55Speaker 4: for China. Starting in late twenty twenty, Wang and Yawnings
- 48:00Speaker 4: and work together to operate a website called US News
- 48:03Speaker 4: Center that purported to be a new source for the
- 48:06Speaker 4: local Chinese American community. The Justice Department said in a
- 48:10Speaker 4: play agreement that Wang and Son received and executed directives
- 48:15Speaker 4: from the People's Republic of China government officials to post
- 48:19Speaker 4: pro PRC content on the website and sometimes sought approval
- 48:23Speaker 4: from PRC government officials to circulate other pro PRC content.
- 48:28Speaker 3: Stella no surprises that she's a Democrat.
- 48:32Speaker 10: Man, Yeah, no surprises. The big question that Americans have
- 48:36Speaker 10: is how many more of her are there out there?
- 48:39Speaker 10: Let me make this clear to a lot of people
- 48:41Speaker 10: who people who are watching this. So she was behind
- 48:44Speaker 10: a website that just seemed like, you know, your average
- 48:47Speaker 10: community website, and meanwhile they were pushing Chinese propaganda. And
- 48:52Speaker 10: this was the other person involved was her fiance at
- 48:55Speaker 10: the time. But I have to tell you that is
- 48:57Speaker 10: not the biggest issue in California. Chinese people have bought
- 49:02Speaker 10: out neighborhoods during COVID when we were all on lockdown,
- 49:06Speaker 10: they were buying homes at like two hundred thousand dollars
- 49:10Speaker 10: asking price in cash. Okay. So now we have all
- 49:14Speaker 10: these neighborhoods and these are conversations that are being had
- 49:17Speaker 10: in California that are like, what is happening here? Like okay?
- 49:21Speaker 10: Not only that they're buying out land. Okay, this is
- 49:26Speaker 10: been investigated as we know right now at least nineteen
- 49:31Speaker 10: purchases near military bases. Why do they need Why do
- 49:36Speaker 10: they need land near military bases that actually have nuclear arsenal?
- 49:42Speaker 10: So Washington has been put on notice, and I think
- 49:45Speaker 10: they really need to take a closer look at what
- 49:47Speaker 10: is happening because now we have a mayor in Los
- 49:50Speaker 10: Angeles I'm sorry, near Los Angeles who was a spy
- 49:54Speaker 10: for China. We want to know how many more are
- 49:56Speaker 10: there and why are they buying out our land?
- 50:01Speaker 3: Stella's ESCAPEDO.
- 50:02Speaker 4: I'm sure we'll be at talking about this issue again soon.
- 50:05Speaker 4: Thank you so much for your time tonight, and that's
- 50:08Speaker 4: all the time we have. I'll see you at eleven
- 50:10Speaker 4: tomorrow night. Newsnight is up next,
