Speaker 3: of Romans, chapter twelve. Right, the Book the Romans, chapter

Speaker 3: twelve tells us to renew our minds daily. And we're

Speaker 3: because he had to renew his mind, he had to

Speaker 3: change his whole mindset on certain things. We got to

Speaker 3: allow God the ability. He's got to be able to

Speaker 3: change our minds, in our mindsets, if God really wants

Speaker 3: work in our life. So in verse ten, verse nine,

Speaker 3: we're gonna pick it up the next day. As they

Speaker 3: went on their journey and drew near to the city,

Speaker 3: Peter went up to the housetop to pray about the

Speaker 3: six hour. Then he became very hungry at that time,

Speaker 3: and he wanted to eat. But while they made ready,

Speaker 3: he fell into a trance. Right, So all that was divine,

Speaker 3: even the fact that he got hungry, and even the

Speaker 3: fact that he was as hungry as he was seeing

Speaker 3: Peter was doing what he always did, praying. You know,

Speaker 3: Peter was a powerful man of prayer. I mean, you

Speaker 3: can't accomplish anything in the Kingdom without a prayer life.

Speaker 3: God often speaks when we're faithful in ordinary disciplines. Right,

Speaker 3: Sometimes they don't have to do anything extraordinary. They don't

Speaker 3: have to go climb the highest mountain peak. Sometimes all

Speaker 3: it takes is for us to just be faithful in

Speaker 3: the small things to hear from God. Now Peter is

Speaker 3: here praying, he's hungry, and he's waiting. Nothing really supernatural. Yet,

Speaker 3: this is just real life, it's just real discipline. It's

Speaker 3: just Peter being faithful. Right, And this matters because God

Speaker 3: often speaks in between moments, right, not only during church,

Speaker 3: not only during revivals, and not just during conferences. Some

Speaker 3: of us, they go to church, especially my church. I

Speaker 3: Community Church because it is a very prophetic ministry, and

Speaker 3: some people go there just so that they can get

Speaker 3: a word. Right. Some people are like, man, I need

Speaker 3: Or sometimes they can't wait for their favorite preacher to

Speaker 3: come to town or that saint that can just you know,

Speaker 3: speak into their lives. But God wants to speak to us.

Speaker 3: He also speaks in between those times, you know, in

Speaker 3: the times when we're all by ourselves in the prayer closet.

Speaker 3: He will speak to you then. And then look at

Speaker 3: Peter's hungry hunger. His hunger be becomes the step for

Speaker 3: the lesson he is about to teach him. God will

Speaker 3: use natural desires to reveal spiritual truth. You know, he

Speaker 3: used his hunger for a moment to impact his life. Amen,

Speaker 3: all right, So let's go verse eleven and twelve, and

Speaker 3: saw heaven opened, and an object like a great sheet

Speaker 3: four footed animals of the earth, while beasts, creeping things

Speaker 3: Jewish identity for centuries. Now for Peter, this was not

Speaker 3: to be faithful to the word of God. He wants

Speaker 3: to be faithful to scriptures, and his identity as a

Speaker 3: Jew was wrapped in obedience to the law. Now this

Speaker 3: is deep. This is a deep cultural thing for Peter.

Speaker 3: Now God is touching these deep layers of his theology.

Speaker 3: to you? Before I know, it's happened to me, where

Speaker 3: my beliefs, my culture, my very identity was touched by

Speaker 3: the very hand of God. Amen. And there was a

Speaker 3: a voice came to him, whyes, Peter, kill and eat

Speaker 3: And Peter said, not so, Lord, for I have never

Speaker 3: eaten anything common or unclean. Now look at the contradiction

Speaker 3: in Peter's response saying Lord while refusing to be obedient,

Speaker 3: expect him to be Lord the simple fact that he

Speaker 3: is Lord. He demands obedience. Do you have a not

Speaker 3: soul Lord moment in your life? I know I've had

Speaker 3: plenty of them, and I still struggle through him to

Speaker 3: to this day. You know, keep me in prayer. But

Speaker 3: we can't say not so and then put Lord behind that.

Speaker 3: I mean, we could be honest with God and let

Speaker 3: him know about our struggle, and we can be struggling

Speaker 3: through something and ask for the grace of God to

Speaker 3: get through it. But Peter is like, not so Lord.

Speaker 3: Now let's pause here for a minute. You know that

Speaker 3: is like an oxymorn. We can't say Lord and know

Speaker 3: in the same sentence and still be obedient. Now, Peter

Speaker 3: isn't being rebellious. He's being religious at this moment. This

Speaker 3: is what tradition does. It convicts us. I mean, it

Speaker 3: convinces us that resistance is righteousness. Let me say that again.

Speaker 3: goes beyond food. Obviously, God is declaring a new work,

Speaker 3: the gentiles, and he's preparing Peter for that. He's got

Speaker 3: permission for inclusion. God isn't lowering his holiness, He's expanding

Speaker 3: this mantles ethnic superiority. And we know that, especially in

Speaker 3: our country, we have been confronted with this spirit, and

Speaker 3: superior to anyone else. Your skin color doesn't matter. Everyone
