- 0:00Speaker 1: Time now for back to the basics and healthcare with
- 0:01Speaker 1: Balance Life Chiropractic. We're here with doctor Harley. Hello, doctor Harley,
- 0:05Speaker 1: Hey John. We talked about babies last week, so today
- 0:08Speaker 1: we're going to talk about kiddos because that's like the
- 0:10Speaker 1: next thing, you know.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Yeah, we're kind of going through the life cycles. You know,
- 0:13Speaker 2: we were at pregnancy.
- 0:14Speaker 1: Yeah, we had.
- 0:15Speaker 2: Little babies, newborns, don't wanna talk about you know, I
- 0:18Speaker 2: made a little bit older kids four or five and
- 0:21Speaker 2: so something that a lot of parents are starting to
- 0:24Speaker 2: deal with more and more. And you might see this
- 0:27Speaker 2: online or TikTok or like you know, the ADHD, neurodivergent,
- 0:31Speaker 2: that kind of stuff, and as a parent, you might
- 0:34Speaker 2: be like, how do I you know, what's going on
- 0:37Speaker 2: with my kid? How what can I do to help them?
- 0:39Speaker 2: You know, we go to doctors or we go to specialists,
- 0:41Speaker 2: and maybe we're months out. What are some options that
- 0:45Speaker 2: you know, you as a parent can do to help
- 0:47Speaker 2: your child maybe if you're waiting for that next doctor's appointment.
- 0:50Speaker 1: And there are some things that can be done in
- 0:52Speaker 1: the chiropractic world that can actually help with that, can't they.
- 0:56Speaker 2: Yeah, And that's something that a lot of parents are
- 0:58Speaker 2: surprised by like, I didn't know chiropractic it helped me
- 1:00Speaker 2: or my child. You know, we can talk about adults
- 1:02Speaker 2: too with ADHD, just help with ADHD or add or
- 1:06Speaker 2: just kind of that extra sensory hypersensitivity that we're seeing
- 1:10Speaker 2: more and more.
- 1:11Speaker 1: And part of this is again when you think about
- 1:13Speaker 1: the fact that your body is filled with you know,
- 1:16Speaker 1: there's all these pathways that need to communicate. If something's
- 1:19Speaker 1: pinched off and it's not communicating, well, there are some issues.
- 1:22Speaker 2: It will happen, right, and it makes it even harder,
- 1:25Speaker 2: you know, for whatever reason. You know, people that are
- 1:27Speaker 2: neurodiversion or ADHD, you know, their brain, their nervous system
- 1:30Speaker 2: kind of reacts in a different way. They are more
- 1:33Speaker 2: easily overstimulated. You know, I saw this a lot. My
- 1:37Speaker 2: sister has really bad ADHD and did as a kid.
- 1:40Speaker 2: She went through all of these treatments, she did play therapy,
- 1:43Speaker 2: she did all these things that really helped make a difference,
- 1:45Speaker 2: but she still would kind of get set off really easily.
- 1:48Speaker 2: And if you're you know, if your child kind of
- 1:50Speaker 2: goes through this, you're not in your head along it
- 1:52Speaker 2: yet And yeah, well what what can we see that
- 1:54Speaker 2: can help. Well, chiropractical is starting to push more that
- 1:58Speaker 2: go to a chiropractor. It can really make a differ
- 2:00Speaker 2: because we're helping calm down the nervous.
- 2:02Speaker 1: System, get everything communicating properly right.
- 2:05Speaker 2: You know, if we can remove some of that nerve interference,
- 2:08Speaker 2: restore proper messaging between the systems, you know, that's going
- 2:11Speaker 2: to help take out a lot of work helping to
- 2:14Speaker 2: calm the system down. So when we have big emotions
- 2:18Speaker 2: or you know, big changes, you know with kids, they're
- 2:22Speaker 2: able to handle those a little bit better. Sure, they're
- 2:24Speaker 2: still going to have, you know, some meltdowns, they're still
- 2:27Speaker 2: going to get over stimulated, but we're seeing it's not
- 2:30Speaker 2: as big of a you know, major blow up, or
- 2:34Speaker 2: it's not as often.
- 2:35Speaker 1: So less severe and maybe less often. Right, if somebody
- 2:38Speaker 1: listening is going, okay, I've got a lot of questions
- 2:40Speaker 1: on this. This is probably way more than we can
- 2:42Speaker 1: go into in a quick little podcast. But they could
- 2:44Speaker 1: reach out and talk to you, couldn't.
- 2:45Speaker 2: They definitely, And even if you just have questions you're like,
- 2:48Speaker 2: how does chiropractic help with ADHD? We can go into
- 2:51Speaker 2: more detail. You know, even if it's a phone call
- 2:54Speaker 2: or an email, or if you want to come into
- 2:56Speaker 2: the office and we can have a quick consultation, just
- 2:58Speaker 2: trying to answer your questions, because I know there's a
- 3:00Speaker 2: lot of information out there. You know, everyone is trying
- 3:04Speaker 2: to throw this and that is even you know, yeah,
- 3:07Speaker 2: with my niece now is getting diagnosed with ADHD, and
- 3:10Speaker 2: I know my sister is trying to figure out all
- 3:13Speaker 2: the things that can help and make a difference, and
- 3:15Speaker 2: you know, just kind of waiting through that. There's a
- 3:16Speaker 2: lot of things out there. So talking with chiropractors or
- 3:20Speaker 2: talking with pediatric occupational therapists, that's another really great route.
- 3:25Speaker 2: I always find all the things in combination are going
- 3:27Speaker 2: to be, you know, really the thing that makes the
- 3:29Speaker 2: biggest difference.
- 3:29Speaker 1: Though, So if I'm thinking maybe this is the right
- 3:32Speaker 1: thing for my kido, should I bring my child with
- 3:34Speaker 1: me when I come in or just come in on
- 3:36Speaker 1: my own to chat with you to start with.
- 3:37Speaker 2: So either way, if you, as the parent, want to
- 3:39Speaker 2: come in and just sit down and talk with us
- 3:41Speaker 2: first before we meet your child, or if you want
- 3:43Speaker 2: to bring your child in with it really is up
- 3:46Speaker 2: to you as the parent. Whatever you are comfortable with.
