- 0:00Welcome to another edition of the ranch, Radio podcast.
- 0:02I'm Jim Watkins and it's good to have you here in a moment.

- 0:09Also what of the modern prophets will talk about all that coming
- 0:13up on the Rancher Radio podcast? We're going to get into our
- 0:27discussion about modern prophets just a second here.
- 0:30Thank you for joining me again on the ranch Radio podcast.
- 0:34And also, there's some announcements to make about
- 0:37upcoming events. And let me see if I can find
- 0:42those. I always save them in my, your
- 0:44Ranch of file, if you've got an event or some event coming up,
- 0:48but you want to share, feel free to send your information to me,
- 0:53your Ranch, a book radio at Mail.com, I try to like to have
- 0:57things like two weeks in advance because it takes about a week
- 1:00for the podcast. Just sort of circle through the
- 1:04growing number of listeners that we have a couple of things.
- 1:07First of all, the ranches Foundation is announced to you,
- 1:10your Ranch, a book Android app which is free and is available
- 1:13in 20 languages. So I suppose if you go to Google
- 1:18Play, you'll find the the Android app featuring the
- 1:22Urantia book. And I've been sort of sort of
- 1:26honking on that for a while. I say I just because I'm getting
- 1:31a little older and it's easier to read but I typically will
- 1:34read the ranch a book on my smart phone or my tablet and I
- 1:38still have the same experience as if I was reading the book.
- 1:41Some argue that the book just feels better but my eyes, you
- 1:45know I need bright light. You know it's just so much
- 1:48better to read it on my but I do appreciate the book.
- 1:52It does have a different And feel so, but that's out.
- 1:55And I was asking the Rancho Foundation at that also included
- 2:00the Apple because Apple used to have the blue book and I still
- 2:04have it on my phone. Thank goodness, but I couldn't
- 2:06find it recently. So I wonder if apple is taken it
- 2:09off. Taking it out of there.
- 2:11Their App Store, who knows? Let me know if you know about
- 2:13that. I also want to talk about the
- 2:16ranch of book. International School is starting
- 2:18again, registration opens Monday, April 17th which is
- 2:22coming up after Her. Well, it's also the day your
- 2:25taxes are due of courses begin on April 24th and you can also
- 2:31go to the Rancho foundation for that which is your ancha
- 2:35dot-org. And then also coming up, is I
- 2:38see 23 from the Rancho book Fellowship, the International
- 2:42Conference 2023, And that is going to be coming up and I'm
- 2:48reading the press release now. Go to your Ranch of book.
- 2:52Dot org, front /. I see 23.
- 2:57Your Ranch a book dot-org. Front slash, I see 23 and you
- 3:03get all the information on the International Conference that's
- 3:06coming up. So that's all exciting.
- 3:09And I want to talk about modern prophets, just because it came
- 3:14in my into my mind, a few weeks ago, I was doing some reading
- 3:18and I started thinking about modern prophets who are the
- 3:21modern-day prophets. So, let me Define what I mean.
- 3:24When I use the word Prophet, some I think I refer to a holy
- 3:27man, like Jesus or Abraham or even Muhammad, but that is not
- 3:32the kind of profit. I'm talking about.
- 3:34You see, history tells us, those profits were a direct Revelation
- 3:39from God. A furtherance is spiritual Truth
- 3:41for our edification that we might broaden our understanding
- 3:45of God and, and I believe that's true.
- 3:49So this would be the primary Revelations, the epochal
- 3:52Revelations. But there are other kinds of
- 3:55prophets prophets like Samuel Ezekiel, John the Baptist and
- 4:00even Moses these two are profits and that is the kind of profit.
- 4:04I want to talk about these prophets, didn't so much ravit
- 4:08receive divine revelation, but they did do something as
- 4:13important. They kept the truth alive from
- 4:16one generation to another From the Urantia book, paper, 97
- 4:22Samuel, Samuel sprang from a long line of these Salem
- 4:25teachers, who had persisted in maintaining the truce of
- 4:29Melchizedek as part of their worship forms.
- 4:32This teacher was a viral and Resolute, man, only his great
- 4:37devotion coupled. With his extraordinary,
- 4:40determination enables him to withstand the almost Universal
- 4:43opposition, which he encountered.
- 4:46When he started out to turn all of Israel, back to the word,
- 4:49Ship of the Supreme Yahweh or mosaic times and even then he
- 4:54was only partially successful. He won back to the service of
- 4:58the higher concepts of Yahweh. Only the more intelligent half
- 5:02of the Hebrews the other half continued in the worship of the
- 5:05tribal gods and the country and in the baser conceptions of
- 5:10Yahweh, Samuel was a Rough and Ready type of man a practical
- 5:15reformer who could go out one day with his associates and
- 5:19over. Lowest score of ball sites.
- 5:23And then it refers to as those profits down through her history
- 5:27from paper 97 10 from Moses to John the Baptist here, extended
- 5:33an unbroken line of faithful teachers who pass the
- 5:37monotheistic torch of light from one generation to another while
- 5:42they unceasingly rebuked, unscrupulous rulers denounced,
- 5:46commercializing priests and ever extorted, the people to adhere
- 5:51to the worship of the Supreme. May the Lord God of Israel.
- 5:56And why is that important? So see, in this case, they're
- 5:58defining these kinds of profits that we read about in the Old
- 6:02Testament, who for their time in generation, that they lived
- 6:06going back to the days of Abraham.
- 6:09And of course Melchizedek which is around 2000 years b.c., all
- 6:13the way up to the times of John. The Baptist you had a string of
- 6:16people who would continue to carry the truth all but albeit
- 6:23Hushed. But still enough of the truce to
- 6:25keep that idea of a monotheistic God that we serve and over time
- 6:32although there have been Ebbs and flows of that.
- 6:36Some of the profits were more successful than the others but
- 6:39they all had that one key commonality which is that they
- 6:42carry the truth forward. And so the definition of a
- 6:47profit in the current context is to include faithful teachers,
- 6:51who pass the monotheistic torch of light from one generation to
- 6:55another while they unceasingly rebuked, unscrupulous rulers
- 6:59denounced, commercializing priests and ever extorted.
- 7:02The people to adhering to the worship of the Supreme.
- 7:05So in our day you know, it could be seen that Martin Luther King
- 7:09was a prophet. Even Gandhi was a prophet in his
- 7:12own way with his own people. And he carried the torch,
- 7:17although he was much more political, but still as Samuel
- 7:20was political Ezekiel, all these people were constantly battling
- 7:25with the city Folk the Canaanites, the ball lights
- 7:28trying to say, no, no no, you come over to our side, our
- 7:31society will be better. If you uphold God as the most
- 7:37high, that was their calling card.
- 7:39If you go with those guys, those are the progressives.
- 7:42Those are the ones. Well, back in the day, they
- 7:44would have been considered the city, Folk the city dwellers,
- 7:47who had ball worship sites all over the place.
- 7:52And for some reason, people in large cities, find it a lot
- 7:55easier to believe in anything, but a singular, most high God.
- 8:02And so the profits Those days carried that truth forward, they
- 8:05never let it die. And then of course, when Christ
- 8:09came along, he furthered that expansion of the Revelation by
- 8:13saying that not only to God belong to everybody, but God was
- 8:16a personal loving father. So I think that no doubt the
- 8:23impact of the ranch of a covert. I'm in, my opinion, will be the
- 8:27production of these prophets of the Contemporary age as well.
- 8:30Christianity will continue to do that and those who rebuke the
- 8:35liars and the people who want to run the world like it is today
- 8:39like a factory again. Going back to the difference
- 8:43between the city Folk you know the people that want to plan
- 8:46everything right. And these would be today in the
- 8:49modern day. These would Be the globalist,
- 8:51the the outcome based people who think they can, you know,
- 8:56arrange Society in a certain way, take away freedom of
- 8:59Liberty and replace it with, you know, the Call of Duty to the
- 9:02greater good. This is my own a interpretation
- 9:07But ultimately it's defined as this.
- 9:09And this is what I've come to the conclusion.
- 9:12In today's world, the ideological struggle.
- 9:16Is who is the ultimate power? Is that a most high spiritual
- 9:21Creator from which we are endowed with a free spirit, Free
- 9:25Will of choice. Or is it the state?
- 9:29The ultimate state which serves the people and I put quotations
- 9:33around the word serve and these are the globalist the extreme
- 9:37progresses who Define things by how we're classified by Race by
- 9:41gender and they and they're trying to equalize make
- 9:45everybody the kind of the same And interestingly in politics
- 9:51you do not see anybody today. Who was a prophet.
- 9:54There are no spiritual profits in politics that I can see.
- 9:59Probably the closest one. You might say that.
- 10:02The way the people felt about Obama was similar to the way
- 10:06they would have felt about a profit, but you could also apply
- 10:09that same measurement towards Trump.
- 10:11There are people who believe in that.
- 10:13Don't want to mix politics. I'm just making an observation
- 10:17that today because politics political leaders are completely
- 10:20devoid of any spiritual principles or ideals that
- 10:24they're proud enough to talk about.
- 10:27This is why people still want a prophet.
- 10:30I mean, people are looking for profits, they're looking for
- 10:33people to give them truth to Carry On from generation to
- 10:36generation. So you know, the goal of any
- 10:40person who believes in God is to carry the light of truth from
- 10:42one generation to the other to keep alone.
- 10:45The truth of one God and that is free will creatures.
- 10:48He is the he is the higher power, not the state, not the
- 10:51UN, not the federal government. And when we sacrifice God for
- 10:56the state and we put all the thority into their hands, then
- 11:00it is literally true that we're giving the power of or over our
- 11:04lives to them. And that's where the conflict
- 11:06comes. So who is the ultimate power and
- 11:10depending on how you answer that question will reveal who you
- 11:13serve. So there's an observation.
- 11:16So now I want to get into the human Paradox for a few minutes
- 11:20here. This is a great paper written
- 11:22paper 111 section 6. X and I want to read through it
- 11:27and it pertains to our hard choices that we have to make in
- 11:31the world today. It truly does.
- 11:32And I and that's why I want to I want to explore it a little bit.
- 11:36See how much time? Yeah, we got about 5 or 6
- 11:38minutes here. So the way I look at it today,
- 11:42the Big Challenge here and it's getting more intense with.
- 11:45Now, we've got the stock market to deal with in the inflation to
- 11:48deal with and all of these isms that are out there and you know,
- 11:51who do we believe in all that stuff and it's getting hard to
- 11:55make a decision. And I think this paper is
- 11:58particular paper. Really sort of helps us
- 12:01understand that dilemma and I think that's why the
- 12:04revelator's. This one is coming from a
- 12:07solitary messenger messenger. ER, of the spirit.
- 12:12The human Paradox. Many of the temporal Troubles of
- 12:15mortal man grow out of his two-fold.
- 12:18Relation to the cosmos, man, is a part of nature.
- 12:21He exists in nature and yet he is able to transcend nature.
- 12:25Man is finite, but he is indwelled by a spark of
- 12:28infinity. Such a dual situation, not only
- 12:32provides the potential for evil but also in genders many social
- 12:37and moral situations fraught with much uncertainty.
- 12:41And not a little anxiety. The courage required to effect
- 12:46the conquest of Nature and to transcend one's self as a
- 12:49courage that might succumb to the Temptation Of self-pride,
- 12:54The Mortal who can transcend self might yield to the
- 12:57temptation to deify his own self-consciousness.
- 13:02The moral dilemma consists in the double fact that man is in
- 13:05bondage to Nature. While the same time, he
- 13:08possesses a unique Liberty, freedom of spiritual choice and
- 13:12action On material levels, man finds himself subservient to
- 13:17Nature. While on spiritual levels, he is
- 13:19triumphant over nature and overall things temporal and
- 13:23finite such a paradox is inseparable from Temptation,
- 13:29potential evil decisional errors.
- 13:31And when self becomes proud and arrogant sin May evolve.
- 13:37The problem of sin is not self existent in the finite world.
- 13:41The fact of finiteness is not evil or sin.
- 13:44Sinful. The finite world was made by an
- 13:46infinite Creator. It is the handiwork of his
- 13:49Divine sons and therefore it must be good.
- 13:54It is the misuse Distortion and perversion of the finite it
- 13:58gives origin to evil and sin. The spirit can dominate mind so
- 14:04mind can control energy but mine can control energy.
- 14:09Only through his intelligent manipulation.
- 14:12Of the metamorphic potentials inherent in the mathematical
- 14:16level of causes and effects of the physical domains.
- 14:21Creature. Mind Sons.
- 14:24Do not inherently control energy.
- 14:26That is a deity prerogative but creature mind can and choose and
- 14:32does manipulate energy just in so far, as it has become a
- 14:36master of the energy secrets of the physical universe.
- 14:42When man wishes to modify physical reality, be it himself
- 14:46or his environment, he succeeds to the extent that he has
- 14:51discovered the ways and means of controlling matter.
- 14:54And directing energy, unaided mind is impotent.
- 14:59To influence anything material, save its own physical mechanism
- 15:03with which it is inescapably linked.
- 15:07But through the intelligent use of the body mechanism, mind can
- 15:11create other mechanisms, even energy, relationships and living
- 15:15Relationships by the utilization of which this mind can
- 15:20increasingly control. And even dominate.
- 15:23Its physical level in the universe.
- 15:27Science is the source of facts in mind cannot operate without
- 15:30facts. They are the building blocks in
- 15:33the construction of wisdom which are cemented together by life
- 15:37experience. Man can find the love of God
- 15:41without facts and man can discover the laws of God without
- 15:45love, but man could never begin to appreciate the infinite
- 15:50symmetry the supernal Harmony, and the Exquisite replete - of
- 15:56the all-inclusive nature of the First Source and Center until he
- 16:00is found Divine Law, and divine love and has experientially
- 16:04unified these in his own evolving, Cosmic philosophy.
- 16:10The expansion of material knowledge, permits a greater
- 16:13intellectual, appreciation of the meanings of ideas and the
- 16:17values of ideals, a human being can find truth in his inner
- 16:22experience. But he needs a clear knowledge
- 16:25of facts to apply his personal discovery of Truth to the
- 16:30ruthlessly practical demands of everyday life.
- 16:35It is only natural that mortal man should be harassed by
- 16:37feelings of insecurity, as he views himself inextricably Bound
- 16:42To Nature while he possesses spiritual Powers.
- 16:45Holy Transcendent to All Things temporal and finite.
- 16:50Only religious confidence, Living Faith, can sustain, man.
- 16:56Amid. Such difficult and perplexing
- 16:58problems. Of all the dangers was which
- 17:02beset man's mortal nature and jeopardizes.
- 17:05His spiritual Integrity pride pride is the greatest courage is
- 17:13valorous but egotism is bang glorious and suicidal
- 17:19reasonable. Self-confidence is not to be
- 17:21deplored. Man's ability to transcend
- 17:24himself is the one thing which distinguishes him from the
- 17:28Animal Kingdom Then I'm going to close with this because it's at
- 17:34the tail end of this same section not long.
- 17:38And again this is a solitary messenger.
- 17:40Giving this narration not long, I was present on salvington and
- 17:46heard a guardian of Destiny present a formal statement and
- 17:50extenuation of the difficulties of ministering to her mortal
- 17:54subject. Okay.
- 17:56So grab that concept for a moment.
- 17:58So here's a solitary messenger who was recently on salvington
- 18:02which is where nebadon finds his Capital to where Michael Christ,
- 18:06Michael lives actually, it's the center of our local creation.
- 18:11And while he was there, he's listening in on a a statement
- 18:14that was made by a seraphic Guardian who had recently been
- 18:19ministering to the Mortal subject.
- 18:22This is how this seraphim described her experience from
- 18:26paper 111, section 7, paragraph, 5, Much of my difficulty was due
- 18:32to the unending conflict between the two Nature's of my subject,
- 18:36the urge of ambition opposed by animal indolence, the ideals of
- 18:41a superior people crossed by the instincts of an inferior race.
- 18:46The high purposes of a great mind and antagonize by The Urge
- 18:50of a primitive inheritance. The long-distance view of a
- 18:54far-seeing monitor counteracted by the nearsightedness of a
- 18:59creature of time. And in this way, this solitary
- 19:03messenger is explaining how this Mortal worked with her spirit,
- 19:08the thought adjuster monitor. That's the spirit.
- 19:10And how these two interacted in the life of this ascending
- 19:14mortal? The aims of the best between
- 19:18overshadowed by the drifts of the worse, the conflict,
- 19:22including the flight of Genius neutralized by the gravity of
- 19:26mediocrity, the progress of the good retarded by the inertia of
- 19:30the bad. The art of the Beautiful
- 19:32besmirched by the presence of the evil.
- 19:35The buoyancy of Health neutralized by the debility of
- 19:39disease, the Fountain of Faith polluted by the poisons of fear.
- 19:45Here the spring of Joy embittered By the Waters of
- 19:49Sorrow, the gladness of anticipation, disillusioned by
- 19:53the bitterness of realization. The joys of living ever
- 19:58threatened by the Sorrows of death, such a life on such a
- 20:02planet and yet because of the ever-present help in urge of the
- 20:06thought, adjuster spirit, this Soul did achieve a fair degree
- 20:10of happiness and success. And has even now ascended to the
- 20:15judgement Halls of man's Sonia. And again, presented by a
- 20:20solitary messenger that group of universe Trinity Offspring
- 20:25personality beings who originated from the infinite
- 20:28Spirit, the third person of deity and you serve as
- 20:31Messengers and teachers throughout creation.
- 20:34So there's your there's your lesson for today.
- 20:37It's not easy to be in ascendant mortal is it?
- 20:39No, no, it is not. So, we're going to leave it
- 20:43there and I thank you for joining me on this edition of
- 20:46the Rancher Radio podcast as Ways.
- 20:49If you've got an experience you want to share last week, we
- 20:52shared my experience and finding You know, the Urantia book.
- 20:56What's your experience? Once you send me an email and
- 20:59tell me your story, I'd love to share it.
- 21:02And the number of course, for the email address, your answer
- 21:04book radio at gmail.com until next time.
- 21:07Thanks again for stopping by In his presence, it just for the
- 21:28day, what a day, thousands of years in a day.
- 21:55And we will be only one. Nothing is greater than one.
