- 1:26Speaker 1: Of course, now there is a game in the morning

- 1:36Speaker 1: the first game of the College Football Playoff or Starry
- 1:38Speaker 1: the second game SMU and Penn State. Of course, it
- 1:40Speaker 1: does begin to night Indiana in notere Dame. Out of
- 1:44Speaker 1: the four playoff games, three of the four will be
- 1:48Speaker 1: playing in below freezing temperature. It's gonna be about sixty
- 1:52Speaker 1: two degrees tomorrow, So Texas fans be thankful. It's going
- 1:56Speaker 1: to be a gorgeous day for college football tomorrow. But
- 1:59Speaker 1: tonight in South Bend tomorrow, in Happy Valley tomorrow, in Columbus,
- 2:05Speaker 1: it's gonna be a little cold, be a little chilly.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Of course, if you're in Columbus now it's called Kneeland North.
- 2:11Speaker 1: If you guys have seen that. With Tennessee apparently flocking
- 2:14Speaker 1: up the Columbus, but again we'll break down all four
- 2:17Speaker 1: games throughout the show. There is some sound for head
- 2:19Speaker 1: coach Teve Sarkejian sound from Fix Shaate for the Texas
- 2:22Speaker 1: women's basketball coach. They have a big non conference game
- 2:25Speaker 1: on Sunday, and of course we're gonna visit with Craig
- 2:28Speaker 1: Way on today's program. He'll actually be joining us up
- 2:31Speaker 1: next about two point fifteen live from Jerier World, and
- 2:35Speaker 1: then throughout the show some special guests, including Eric Henry
- 2:38Speaker 1: from Horns two four to seven. He's gonna stop by
- 2:41Speaker 1: in the four o'clock hour and get his final thoughts
- 2:45Speaker 1: on this Texas Clemson showdown, and also step away from
- 2:50Speaker 1: golf or step away from college football and go into
- 2:52Speaker 1: the world of golf with Jeff Shackelford, fantastic golf author,
- 2:56Speaker 1: reporter and podcast coach. He'll stop by the next hour. Guz,
- 3:01Speaker 1: there's been some more developments in the game of golf,
- 3:04Speaker 1: but glad to have you with us here. Of course,
- 3:06Speaker 1: if you want to be able to take part in
- 3:07Speaker 1: the show, text us on the Texas line. Text to
- 3:09Speaker 1: where Texas the eight one to five to three zero,
- 3:11Speaker 1: followed by your message today. I want to hear everyone's
- 3:14Speaker 1: predictions for Texas in Clemson tomorrow. Texas a twelve point
- 3:20Speaker 1: favorite right now over the Tigers in this college football
- 3:24Speaker 1: playoff game. Of course, you can also leave a message
- 3:27Speaker 1: as well using our talk back feature on the iHeart
- 3:30Speaker 1: Radio app. Of course, download the app, make sure you
- 3:32Speaker 1: subscribe to our podcast and leave a message. Hold on
- 3:36Speaker 1: that red microphone button. Let's hear your predictions for this game.
- 3:42Speaker 1: I'll start with not a prediction, but kind of how
- 3:45Speaker 1: I'm feeling. It's going to be a tight game. I
- 3:47Speaker 1: think it's gonna be low score. Texas offense obviously has
- 3:51Speaker 1: not had the same success as it had in the
- 3:53Speaker 1: first half of the season. I think you can point
- 3:55Speaker 1: to a variety of reasons. One, well, haven't had SETI
- 3:59Speaker 1: quarterback Blay Viewers has been banged up. He's been beat up,
- 4:02Speaker 1: oblique injuries, ankle injuries. Now he practiced this week without
- 4:05Speaker 1: a brace, so hopefully he will be as healthy as
- 4:08Speaker 1: he has been since what Week four of the college
- 4:12Speaker 1: football season, week three? Maybe maybe since what utsa Louisiana
- 4:18Speaker 1: Monroe the beginning of that game. Another part, Texas has
- 4:21Speaker 1: not had a true number one running back at all
- 4:22Speaker 1: the season. Of course lost CJ. Baxter, a freshman. Christian
- 4:26Speaker 1: Clark went down both season ending injuries. So huge credit
- 4:30Speaker 1: to Quindrevion Weisner who has stepped up. He's been a
- 4:33Speaker 1: rock so far at the running back position, but haven't
- 4:36Speaker 1: had the seasons that we were hoping for from Jaden Bluelaw.
- 4:39Speaker 1: That has to do with hangout with the football. Jered Gibson,
- 4:42Speaker 1: same thing. I think Gibson would be used a lot
- 4:43Speaker 1: more if not for his fumbling issues. So Texas kind
- 4:46Speaker 1: of star, kind of one hand behind the back with
- 4:49Speaker 1: the running back situation, but that's college football. You're going
- 4:51Speaker 1: to have to deal through the injuries. Other part of it.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Isaiah Bond more injuries And this is from Pete Thammel
- 4:57Speaker 1: this of yesterday and he tweeted sources. Texas receiver Isaiah
- 5:02Speaker 1: Bond faces long odds to play against Clemson this weekend
- 5:05Speaker 1: as he recovers from a high ankle sprain. He may
- 5:08Speaker 1: end up a game time decision on Saturday, but has
- 5:11Speaker 1: done limited football activity this week and has been focused
- 5:15Speaker 1: on rehab work. Member Sark on Monday said that Bond
- 5:17Speaker 1: was shut down for the entire past week and this
- 5:20Speaker 1: week on that Monday media availability where they had there
- 5:23Speaker 1: was a media window for the media to come out
- 5:25Speaker 1: and watch the game or watch the practice. Excuse me,
- 5:27Speaker 1: Bond was on the sideline. He was not partaking in it.
- 5:29Speaker 1: And I think the best for the best thing for
- 5:31Speaker 1: Bond in Texas offensively let him sit this game. Let
- 5:36Speaker 1: him get back to one hundred percent. Because if Texas wins,
- 5:38Speaker 1: and I think they can beat Clemson without playing perfect,
- 5:41Speaker 1: without having Isaiah Bond, you give Isaiah Bond an extra
- 5:44Speaker 1: week to hopefully come back and be ready for Arizona State.
- 5:47Speaker 1: I think honestly they could get buy Arizona State as
- 5:49Speaker 1: well without Isaiah Bond. But to beat Oregon and to
- 5:53Speaker 1: win a national championship, maybe it's not Oregon, maybe it's Tennessee,
- 5:56Speaker 1: Ohio State, But to beat any of those three teams, honestly,
- 5:58Speaker 1: and then Notre Dames or JA Penn State, whoever comes
- 6:01Speaker 1: out of that side of the bracket, You're gonna need
- 6:02Speaker 1: a true receiver one because I think Texas has been hurting.
- 6:06Speaker 1: It's been hurting Quinn yours not have that trusted receiver one.
- 6:10Speaker 1: And as we talked to with CJ. Fogel early in
- 6:12Speaker 1: the week, Isaiah Bond is the guy who takes the
- 6:15Speaker 1: top off the defense, right He is your deep threat,
- 6:18Speaker 1: He is your speedster. Texas doesn't really have that. You know,
- 6:21Speaker 1: maybe John day Cook could have been a good role
- 6:23Speaker 1: in that, but guess what John day Cook now with
- 6:25Speaker 1: the football team anymore. Bond's been injured. It's definitely hurting
- 6:28Speaker 1: this Texas offense no matter how you see it, and
- 6:31Speaker 1: not being able to have that deep threat has been
- 6:34Speaker 1: hurting the Texas passing game and also hurts the running game.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Because if you're a defense and you're not worried about
- 6:40Speaker 1: Isaiah Bond, you're worried about shutting down Gunner Helm as
- 6:43Speaker 1: Georgia did a mistitled game, or focusing on Ryan Wingl
- 6:47Speaker 1: or Matthew Golden, you can limit the offense. So for Texas,
- 6:50Speaker 1: I think to be successful, to make a deep run,
- 6:53Speaker 1: you need, essay a Bond healthy. But it does appear
- 6:55Speaker 1: that Bond, according to Pete Thamill, is facing long odds
- 6:59Speaker 1: to play on Saturday against Clemson. Now, Calvin Banks, I think,
- 7:04Speaker 1: I said inside Texas reporting that he may ever turned
- 7:07Speaker 1: to practice at the end of the week to believe
- 7:08Speaker 1: he's going to start tomorrow, which will be huge for
- 7:11Speaker 1: Texas and the offensive line that had trouble protecting Quinn
- 7:14Speaker 1: and had trouble getting the run game going against Georgia
- 7:18Speaker 1: and the SEC title game. Clinton has some big bodies
- 7:21Speaker 1: in the d line, but I do think they're going
- 7:22Speaker 1: to be able to run the football down the Tigers throats,
- 7:25Speaker 1: and I think with Wiser or Blue or Gibson will
- 7:28Speaker 1: be helpful. I would love to see a little bit
- 7:30Speaker 1: more of arch manning in the red zone, depending on
- 7:32Speaker 1: how healthy Quinn is. But the red zone leave under
- 7:35Speaker 1: eighty percent now in terms of scoring success, that's not
- 7:39Speaker 1: high at all. I mean, the offense look good in
- 7:41Speaker 1: the red zone the start of the year, but everything
- 7:43Speaker 1: has kind of dripped down towards his second half of
- 7:46Speaker 1: the year, and a lot that has to do, I
- 7:47Speaker 1: think with the injuries to quarterback, receiver, offensive line, and
- 7:51Speaker 1: just a lack of debt at running back. We'll get
- 7:54Speaker 1: more into this Clemson Texas game. Of course, gonna talk
- 7:57Speaker 1: with Craig Way up next, Eric Henry as well get
- 7:59Speaker 1: his thoughts on Showdown again. Will be live at Longhorn's
- 8:02Speaker 1: Game by tomorrow at noon through two o'clock on Bevo Boulevard.
- 8:06Speaker 1: Hook him hang out Winships Circle. We have Big Beer
- 8:09Speaker 1: thed next to us. We have the food trucks next
- 8:10Speaker 1: to us. Come out, grab it bye to eat, grab
- 8:13Speaker 1: a beverage and come listen to myself, my cars, and
- 8:16Speaker 1: Mark Henry. Gonna have some special guest stopping by former
- 8:18Speaker 1: players as well. Gonna visit with Craig Waye and Roger
- 8:21Speaker 1: Wallace from the Booth. Could their take on this game.
- 8:23Speaker 1: Gonna get my Carg's Keys to the game, and I
- 8:26Speaker 1: think everyone's favorite segment, Mark Henry's High Drain. It's better
- 8:31Speaker 1: in person. I'll recommend that. So please come out and
- 8:34Speaker 1: join us tomorrow again. Kick off schedule for three o'clock.
- 8:37Speaker 1: Of course, you can listen on AM thirteen hundred. The Zone.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Also on ninety eight point one gave that in a
- 8:42Speaker 1: one to three one, Austin's eighties station is a Friday.
- 8:47Speaker 1: What does that mean? For inconceivable Florida Man Friday, we
- 8:52Speaker 1: go to the more flaccid of the lower forty eight states.
- 8:54Speaker 1: And oh yeah, just because Craig is in Arlington does
- 8:57Speaker 1: not mean he will not contribute to an inconceivable on Friday.
- 9:01Speaker 1: It's also a fire me up Friday here we're just
- 9:04Speaker 1: getting going on The Craig Way Show.
