- 1:07Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. Ten minutes ago, I say undefeated.
- 1:09Speaker 1: Now they underrated. Yeah, man, talk talk to me like,
- 1:12Speaker 1: obviously you've been on a run. I feel like when
- 1:15Speaker 1: was when did when was cut that bitch off? Like
- 1:17Speaker 1: twenty fourteen fourteen, So we're going on seven eight years now,
- 1:21Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. And I feel like you've
- 1:23Speaker 1: just been so consistent with putting out just for hits.
- 1:26Speaker 1: For sure. It's my bloodline at this point, you know
- 1:28Speaker 1: what I'm saying. Yeah, Man, like people got to know
- 1:31Speaker 1: I make music. Do you feel like you get enough
- 1:33Speaker 1: credit though? Now? Yet it's coming though every every I
- 1:36Speaker 1: feel like every artist go through this shit, you know
- 1:38Speaker 1: what I'm saying, Like even the Drakes even you know
- 1:40Speaker 1: what I'm saying, everybody went through that period of time
- 1:42Speaker 1: where all this shit been Future it went through it.
- 1:45Speaker 1: Future definitely when he went through it, it was it
- 1:47Speaker 1: was one point. It's this tweet I'm trying to find
- 1:49Speaker 1: to this day. Future tweeted he was like, man, the
- 1:52Speaker 1: motherfucker keep playing me, Like I ain't dropping, you know,
- 1:54Speaker 1: just popping his shit, and I think, like a year later,
- 1:57Speaker 1: that's my future. You know. You know what's crazy you
- 1:59Speaker 1: said about him, Becau. I remember having that conversation because
- 2:02Speaker 1: Future put out Tony Montana and Magic going crazy. Yeah,
- 2:07Speaker 1: but like people really weren't paying attention until he went
- 2:09Speaker 1: on that mixtape run exactly he put Pluto out and
- 2:12Speaker 1: don't really care exactly, you know what I'm saying, Like
- 2:14Speaker 1: he had to have one record no one cares, so
- 2:16Speaker 1: I'd be like that, you know what I'm saying. You
- 2:18Speaker 1: gotta just you gotta know where you at as an artist,
- 2:21Speaker 1: know where you want to be mentally, you know what
- 2:23Speaker 1: I'm saying, and keeps it, putting that work into and
- 2:25Speaker 1: shit crat. I feel like to you you have like
- 2:27Speaker 1: a bunch of different bags you could you could tap
- 2:30Speaker 1: into as an artist, like you put out like like
- 2:32Speaker 1: Kiss five was crazy. Like when you do like something
- 2:35Speaker 1: from the Kiss series, it's more melodic, more for the
- 2:38Speaker 1: ladies compared to when you do, like your new album
- 2:42Speaker 1: that's coming out, is it is it a different approach
- 2:44Speaker 1: or is that kind of like give me that The
- 2:46Speaker 1: thought process behind with the Kiss projects as as mainly
- 2:51Speaker 1: R and B. Right, you know what I'm saying, it's
- 2:52Speaker 1: catering to my female fan base because they love that shit,
- 2:55Speaker 1: you get what I'm saying. But when I really like
- 2:57Speaker 1: create my alms, like my first album came out with
- 2:59Speaker 1: all the Way Is Up, One Way, all my you
- 3:01Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, real, I wouldn't say not real
- 3:04Speaker 1: ALUs all real albums, but it's a you're pulling from
- 3:08Speaker 1: everywhere I'm making I'm making trap shit, I'm making ship
- 3:10Speaker 1: for the females, I'm making vibe shit. I make ship
- 3:13Speaker 1: for the club, and it's all one you know what
- 3:15Speaker 1: I'm saying. Project, But Kiss series just straight female. So
- 3:19Speaker 1: I like to balance the bags though, But I'd rather
- 3:22Speaker 1: do everything you want. So you like to just do
- 3:25Speaker 1: it all. I like to just make music and put
- 3:26Speaker 1: it all together and make it you know what I'm saying,
- 3:28Speaker 1: Make it flow the right way. You know, it's all
- 3:29Speaker 1: about the flow and just the vibe of the project.
- 3:31Speaker 1: So you gotta really be you know what I'm saying,
- 3:33Speaker 1: mindful lot of what you put on there and how
- 3:35Speaker 1: that ship moving through the project. Yeah, I feel like
- 3:37Speaker 1: to like you know, when you think of like just
- 3:39Speaker 1: the range of you as an artist, you cut that
- 3:42Speaker 1: bitch off all the way to like a record like comfortable.
- 3:45Speaker 1: It's totally different, right, dif from worlds. Yeah, And if
- 3:48Speaker 1: you just go on your Spotify and pick whatever projects
- 3:51Speaker 1: you have a lot of a lot of people, you
- 3:52Speaker 1: got a lot of discography. Ship could depending on what
- 3:56Speaker 1: you listen to, you and be like, wait, this is
- 3:57Speaker 1: this is the same guy for sure? Now it's facts, Yeah,
- 4:00Speaker 1: but it have been like that. You know what I'm
- 4:01Speaker 1: saying that just I'm a songwriter first, you get what
- 4:03Speaker 1: I'm saying. So it's to the point where you can
- 4:06Speaker 1: put any instrumental in front of me and I'm just
- 4:08Speaker 1: I'm a vibe out on that bitch. I don't go
- 4:10Speaker 1: in the studio saying I'm about to make this record
- 4:12Speaker 1: right or this is what I'm on today. I just
- 4:15Speaker 1: whatever I hear, that's what I'm giving. That's fair. Man.
- 4:19Speaker 1: What do you think has held you back from being
- 4:23Speaker 1: like a superstar myself? Why why do you say that
- 4:28Speaker 1: me being naive in the beginning. You know what I'm saying,
- 4:30Speaker 1: not really listening to you know what I'm saying the
- 4:33Speaker 1: advice people, not everybody, but you know what I'm saying,
- 4:36Speaker 1: it's a certain few people that just told me certain
- 4:38Speaker 1: things I should do and what I shouldn't do. But
- 4:40Speaker 1: at the same time, I feel like this shit plan
- 4:42Speaker 1: out the way I wanted to play out. You get
- 4:44Speaker 1: what I'm saying, Like I get. I hear that all
- 4:45Speaker 1: the time about the superstar. I should be bigger than
- 4:47Speaker 1: should be bigger than what I am now. But what's bigger?
- 4:49Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying like this, I think I
- 4:51Speaker 1: think that when I think of k Camp, I think
- 4:53Speaker 1: of this guy's got a lot of hit records. Yeah,
- 4:55Speaker 1: for sure, I definitely should be way you got hits.
- 4:57Speaker 1: But but I feel like that there's it's hard. It's
- 5:01Speaker 1: you know, I feel like the music part is easy
- 5:03Speaker 1: for you, right. I feel like the other the other
- 5:05Speaker 1: side of it is like the exposure. It's the exposure
- 5:08Speaker 1: and how do you get people to care about you?
- 5:10Speaker 1: As long as my fans care, I don't give a
- 5:11Speaker 1: damn who else care. So as long as I can
- 5:14Speaker 1: sell our shows and continue to make money and put
- 5:16Speaker 1: out great bodies of work and and and tour and
- 5:18Speaker 1: do the same ship the motherfucker popping doing, make the
- 5:21Speaker 1: same Listen, you're popping up like when you say, I
- 5:25Speaker 1: hear what you're saying. Yeah, you know what I'm saying,
- 5:27Speaker 1: Like it's it's really just it's it's that, it's that exposure, man,
- 5:31Speaker 1: It's it's the media. You know what I'm saying. Once
- 5:33Speaker 1: we tap into you know, the propaganda. You know, I
- 5:35Speaker 1: don't do that. You don't get into any of the controversies.
- 5:38Speaker 1: Exactly the thing that leads to act looks you ask
- 5:42Speaker 1: some music on top of you. You know what I'm saying.
- 5:44Speaker 1: But I like to stand my lane and make sure
- 5:46Speaker 1: my business together and make sure everything that's that's running
- 5:49Speaker 1: on my ends is operating on the on the on
- 5:51Speaker 1: the right level. You mentioned, uh being a songwriter first,
- 5:54Speaker 1: how often do you lend your pen to other artists recently?
- 5:58Speaker 1: Not that much, you know what I'm saying, Because to
- 6:00Speaker 1: the point where I was just having this conversation the
- 6:02Speaker 1: other day, I had wrote a verse for Beyonce this
- 6:05Speaker 1: Savage remix. You know what I'm saying, But my verse
- 6:08Speaker 1: don't get used and just off that simple fact of
- 6:11Speaker 1: me taking my time on my day to write some shit,
- 6:13Speaker 1: and it don't get you. I ain't got time to
- 6:14Speaker 1: be you know what I'm saying. Just pausing my day
- 6:18Speaker 1: to get a placement. So I don't know. It's it's
- 6:21Speaker 1: if I get if I get a call, I'm you
- 6:23Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, Say Beyonce Orrinda call me right now,
- 6:25Speaker 1: say come to the studio and write this pull up.
- 6:29Speaker 1: But I'm not about to do the middle man. Send
- 6:30Speaker 1: it to somebody sent. Yeah. Now that's the hustle and
- 6:33Speaker 1: bustle of the It's like the producer game. I be
- 6:36Speaker 1: feeling bad. A producers be really just chomping at the
- 6:39Speaker 1: bitch just to get that place, to get that placement.
- 6:41Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying, And I ain't got time
- 6:42Speaker 1: for that. If it's direct, I'm with it. But as
- 6:43Speaker 1: far as like, I ain't doing that run around. So
- 6:46Speaker 1: with the Beyonce situation, someone had reached out to a
- 6:49Speaker 1: middle person that reached out to you. He really was
- 6:51Speaker 1: in the middle man. He was he was the man, right,
- 6:53Speaker 1: But you know what I'm saying, Like before that, before
- 6:55Speaker 1: I wrote that, I ain't really wrote nobody shit in
- 6:58Speaker 1: a minute. I don't even always. So you just submitted
- 7:00Speaker 1: a verse. I was just doing he said beyond was
- 7:02Speaker 1: like ship all right, been right? But you know what
- 7:04Speaker 1: I'm saying, when it Atlanta, I'm like, come on, man,
- 7:06Speaker 1: you should just kept whoever you call first. They got
- 7:09Speaker 1: the verse. You know what I'm saying, Lamb to do it?
- 7:10Speaker 1: You feel me? But ain't no, ain't no bad feelings,
- 7:12Speaker 1: bad blood. That's the game. Do you know if she
- 7:14Speaker 1: cut the verse or you don't know, I never met
- 7:17Speaker 1: beyond her, that'd mean yeah, I mean, that'd be crazy.
- 7:20Speaker 1: I'd be crazy. Though. I'm gonna get one though. You
- 7:22Speaker 1: know who? Like you know you mentioned beyond to Beyonce's legend,
- 7:25Speaker 1: but like who? Who are the artists that you still
- 7:27Speaker 1: aspire to be in the same room as that you
- 7:29Speaker 1: haven't yet mad or worked with? Of course, Jay, you
- 7:35Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, Me and me and me and
- 7:37Speaker 1: Drake Overdue. It's a lot, man, It's a lot of
- 7:43Speaker 1: talented artists in the game. I still want to want
- 7:45Speaker 1: to tap in with. You know what I'm saying. I
- 7:46Speaker 1: can name one hundred artists, you know what I'm saying.
- 7:50Speaker 1: Just the people that y'all ain't hurt me with yet,
- 7:51Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. The thugs, you know what
- 7:53Speaker 1: I'm saying, Like people in my city, that's you know
- 7:55Speaker 1: what I'm saying. Got a wave going people in l
- 7:56Speaker 1: A Me and watch still ain't got one on a
- 7:58Speaker 1: hot to hell. Yeah, you've been like super appain on
- 8:00Speaker 1: the West Coast too for ye years. Well y G
- 8:02Speaker 1: was on the cut Off remix. But I don't count
- 8:04Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, Like it's a lot of
- 8:05Speaker 1: folks that I fucked with on the music. You know
- 8:07Speaker 1: what I'm saying. Level, I'm like ship once that time come,
- 8:10Speaker 1: I don't never force nothing. I'll be in my own world.
- 8:11Speaker 1: I do my own thing. So when that, when that,
- 8:14Speaker 1: when that energy happened, it happened, you know, talk give
- 8:19Speaker 1: me the rundown of this new album. You got some
- 8:21Speaker 1: dope features, you got PMB rock, moved Ski Trey songs,
- 8:24Speaker 1: some R and B features, some yeah. Yeah, the album
- 8:28Speaker 1: it's just to follow up on Kiss five. You get
- 8:30Speaker 1: what I'm saying. I got one more deal until I'm
- 8:33Speaker 1: fully independing. I'm not one more deal, one more project
- 8:34Speaker 1: till I'm fully independent. So it's just it's just the
- 8:37Speaker 1: follow up. It's been a year since I dropped the album.
- 8:40Speaker 1: The last album was Depending in the Pandemic, you know
- 8:42Speaker 1: what I'm saying, did very well in the pandemic. But
- 8:45Speaker 1: it's just it's just time for me to you know,
- 8:47Speaker 1: drop my nuts again, to me ask you this. You're
- 8:50Speaker 1: going independent once the deals up. Of course, I saw
- 8:54Speaker 1: you at Gazi's birthday party. That's my dog. You're going
- 8:56Speaker 1: to Empire. I was already with Empire. Okay, so you're
- 8:59Speaker 1: gonna after this. It's possible. Okay, guys were just talking
- 9:03Speaker 1: like two weeks ago. I mean, I'm saying, I saw
- 9:04Speaker 1: you got his birthday. Yeah, it's possible. You know what
- 9:07Speaker 1: I'm saying. I really want to just get a feel
- 9:09Speaker 1: for it. I ain't been independence down fourteen. You know
- 9:11Speaker 1: what I'm saying. I'm trying to God damn, because you know,
- 9:14Speaker 1: like I said, I run my own label. I got
- 9:15Speaker 1: my whole whole situation. We got our own distribution, marketing,
- 9:20Speaker 1: marketing team, uh playlist and team, we got, we got
- 9:24Speaker 1: the we got the whole nine independently. So you know,
- 9:26Speaker 1: I'm saying, I just want to tap in and see
- 9:28Speaker 1: how much I can do by myself. Give me your
- 9:29Speaker 1: like rundown because you know, you said, I know one
- 9:32Speaker 1: of your artists on your album, but kind of tell
- 9:33Speaker 1: me like about your label, the name and just some
- 9:36Speaker 1: of some of the artists you're working with. Yeah, where
- 9:38Speaker 1: sound is just you know what I'm saying, what it
- 9:40Speaker 1: sounds like. You feel me when I was staying out
- 9:42Speaker 1: here in LA but like twenty sixteen, in the sixteen
- 9:46Speaker 1: beginning the seventeen, when we had moved back to Atlanta,
- 9:48Speaker 1: we used to go by slums, slum lords, you know
- 9:50Speaker 1: I'm saying. That's when we was on that. You know
- 9:51Speaker 1: what I'm saying, that bullshit, wild shit. But we had
- 9:54Speaker 1: to evolve, you know what I'm saying. During that time,
- 9:56Speaker 1: I came with the name Rare. You know what I'm saying.
- 9:58Speaker 1: I was really just speaking on my behalf on I
- 10:00Speaker 1: felt like I was as an artist, I was rare.
- 10:02Speaker 1: You know, came back to Atlanta. You know, we've been
- 10:04Speaker 1: building since twenty seventeen since the Rare Project got dropped
- 10:08Speaker 1: in Atlanta. The first project got dropped when I moved
- 10:09Speaker 1: back to Atlanta, and it eventually turned the Rare Sound,
- 10:12Speaker 1: and it just it just became a thing where, you
- 10:15Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, we wanted to do We wanted
- 10:17Speaker 1: to do something that haven't been done before in the
- 10:20Speaker 1: game as far as like structure in the business side,
- 10:22Speaker 1: right you know what I'm saying, a lot of artists
- 10:24Speaker 1: get trapped in these deals and do all this. You
- 10:25Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, get get bullshit out of money.
- 10:28Speaker 1: And you know what I'm saying, we try to do
- 10:29Speaker 1: fair deals on rare sound end. We give the artists
- 10:33Speaker 1: full control creativity. You know what I'm saying. They do
- 10:35Speaker 1: it they want whoever the artist is. That's what the
- 10:36Speaker 1: artists gonna be. You know I'm saying. We can always
- 10:38Speaker 1: chime in and help them out, but we let everybody
- 10:40Speaker 1: beat them, and it's a win win. If you pop,
- 10:44Speaker 1: you're gonna get paid. It ain't nobody eating your pockets
- 10:46Speaker 1: up saying. We're just trying to assist you and get
- 10:48Speaker 1: you going because I went through the ship where my
- 10:51Speaker 1: shit was fucked up, and I don't want nobody around
- 10:54Speaker 1: me feeling the same way I felt, because that can
- 10:56Speaker 1: either make or break you. You know what I'm saying.
- 10:58Speaker 1: You get into a fucked up label situation, everybody could
- 11:00Speaker 1: break it. Everybody out of your seat, Everybody immensely strown.
- 11:03Speaker 1: They can't can't handle that much shit. You know what
- 11:05Speaker 1: I'm saying, By the grace of God, I'm built like
- 11:08Speaker 1: a fucking machine, and I've been through a lot of
- 11:09Speaker 1: shit and I'm still here, still still hustling, and still
- 11:12Speaker 1: better than ever. But on the rest noun and we
- 11:14Speaker 1: try to do fair deals. And like I said, we
- 11:17Speaker 1: got our own distribution. So whenever you want to draw,
- 11:19Speaker 1: it's like you got free range of what the fuck
- 11:20Speaker 1: you want. You're gonna drop every fucking day. We ain't
- 11:22Speaker 1: gonna tell you we're gonna but if you want to
- 11:24Speaker 1: drop every day, you got that. You got the range too. Hey,
- 11:27Speaker 1: interrupting the interview to tell you about our good friends

- 12:21Speaker 1: some things that you had to learn kind of like
- 12:24Speaker 1: the hard way in the music game. Was it some pubshit?
- 12:27Speaker 1: Was it the label shit? Man? Was it was all
- 12:29Speaker 1: the shit? Right? It was all the shit, you know
- 12:31Speaker 1: what I'm saying, not reading contracts, just being just being
- 12:34Speaker 1: blind to the money, you know what I'm saying, The
- 12:36Speaker 1: money coming in and not really taking care of business.
- 12:38Speaker 1: And the business ended up biting me in the ass
- 12:40Speaker 1: few years later, and I had to clean up the business.
- 12:43Speaker 1: And for the past couple of years when people thought
- 12:45Speaker 1: I was gone, I was cleaning up the business, you
- 12:47Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. And that took times. To this day,
- 12:49Speaker 1: I'm still you know what I'm saying. Everything is back
- 12:51Speaker 1: how it need to be, but it takes time to
- 12:54Speaker 1: really like take some shit that's fucked up and fix it,
- 12:57Speaker 1: put all a piece together by yourself, you know what
- 12:58Speaker 1: I'm saying, Like really like locked in on some you
- 13:02Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, Pinky and the Brain ship right,
- 13:04Speaker 1: you feel me so, But I can't complain the days
- 13:08Speaker 1: would you say? Like, because a lot of artists, like
- 13:11Speaker 1: you said, they'll they'll get a deal and they won't
- 13:14Speaker 1: worry so much about the terms, but they'll maybe they'll
- 13:17Speaker 1: get that front end advance and they're like, yeah, it's beautiful.
- 13:21Speaker 1: In advance is beautiful, you know what I'm saying, But
- 13:24Speaker 1: it ain't right for people who don't know like what
- 13:28Speaker 1: is because I always try to tell artists like, look
- 13:31Speaker 1: like an advance is cool, but it's not. It's really
- 13:34Speaker 1: all that matters of your terms because you have to
- 13:36Speaker 1: pay that money back to give it back. You got
- 13:38Speaker 1: to give it back, and it's most of the time
- 13:40Speaker 1: it's at a really bad rate, you know what I'm saying.
- 13:45Speaker 1: And you know, I think a lot of young artists
- 13:48Speaker 1: that they make that mistake where they run to whoever
- 13:51Speaker 1: you always hear about bidding wars and ship You'll be like, well,
- 13:53Speaker 1: who's got the biggest advance? Sometimes it ain't it's not
- 13:56Speaker 1: about that for the rate, because you can get you
- 13:59Speaker 1: can get a large as advance and don't you know
- 14:02Speaker 1: what I'm saying, don't succeed on the other side. I
- 14:04Speaker 1: mean you talk about White G. You know I was
- 14:06Speaker 1: talking to White G. I mean this is on video,
- 14:08Speaker 1: so it's not like this. He's like, I haven't seen
- 14:09Speaker 1: any money off my music for real. Yeah, he probably
- 14:12Speaker 1: got a crazy as adan. We didn't know because he
- 14:14Speaker 1: signed with Depth jam Ian. He just re upped. But
- 14:15Speaker 1: before that, like he was like bro like when he
- 14:18Speaker 1: was unhappy with Depth Chamber was because he probably Yeah,
- 14:21Speaker 1: you gotta know, yo, you got you know what I'm saying,
- 14:23Speaker 1: got them it's somebody with platinum records. Yeah, I would
- 14:25Speaker 1: have never thought that. You know what I'm saying, You
- 14:26Speaker 1: gotta have them good lawyers on your You know what
- 14:28Speaker 1: I'm saying. You gotta be in communication with your lawyer.
- 14:30Speaker 1: You can have a lawyer, but if you ain't talking
- 14:31Speaker 1: to him. Yeah, Young Blue just told us that, right. Yeah,
- 14:34Speaker 1: Young Blue was like I got three three was it
- 14:37Speaker 1: with Colombia? He had three gold records. He's like a
- 14:40Speaker 1: lot of folks go through that same ship. Ye, but
- 14:42Speaker 1: you gotta go through. You know what I'm saying. At
- 14:44Speaker 1: the end of the day, it's how long you're gonna
- 14:46Speaker 1: you're gonna stand for that ship? You know what I'm saying.
- 14:48Speaker 1: It also like would you rather have the quick nut
- 14:51Speaker 1: or like the consistent residual bag every month? Exactly? I
- 14:54Speaker 1: take the residual bag. Yep, you get what I'm saying.
- 14:57Speaker 1: But I went to the same face. You know what
- 14:59Speaker 1: I'm saying. During that time I'm doing that twenty sixteen
- 15:01Speaker 1: seventeen period, I ain't see a chick. I ain't seen
- 15:04Speaker 1: music chacking two years. You know what I'm saying. Off
- 15:06Speaker 1: that event, right, I had to live off just you
- 15:07Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, the shoulder I had, you know
- 15:09Speaker 1: what I'm saying, and the ship I had saved up
- 15:11Speaker 1: and had to figure the shit out and to the
- 15:13Speaker 1: point where, you know what I'm saying, I did what
- 15:14Speaker 1: I did, and I cracked, you know what I'm saying,
- 15:16Speaker 1: the conversation with with the with the uppers, you know,
- 15:19Speaker 1: and shit got straightened. Well, you're also in a great
- 15:22Speaker 1: position too, because you have like hits, So no matter what,
- 15:25Speaker 1: there's always a bag for you to get. You know
- 15:26Speaker 1: what I'm saying. You can't. You can't tell me. Yeah,
- 15:29Speaker 1: even within in the building, Like, you can't tell me
- 15:31Speaker 1: I ain't making no money, right, you can't tell me
- 15:33Speaker 1: I ain't making no money. All these records, you can't.
- 15:35Speaker 1: You can't. Yeah, Like there's like not a lot of
- 15:37Speaker 1: people are in your position where they have that many
- 15:39Speaker 1: records where they could be like, yo, fuck the label.
- 15:41Speaker 1: I could just go get ten fifteen and your ketalog. Yeah,
- 15:47Speaker 1: let me just list that you can do. Now, let
- 15:48Speaker 1: me go hit the you know, get the back end
- 15:50Speaker 1: of whatever club or be straight. Yeah, dolphing them running
- 15:53Speaker 1: place dogs. Yeah what I'm saying, don't killing that shit.
- 15:57Speaker 1: Jesus christis you feel me? Yeah? Yeah, yeah yeah, dolphs
- 16:01Speaker 1: on his ship. Man, is there anybody who you said
- 16:04Speaker 1: you went through it in like twenty sixteen, twenty seventeen,
- 16:06Speaker 1: anybody like any artists or any any executives that kind
- 16:09Speaker 1: of mentored you through that, that kind of was like,
- 16:11Speaker 1: you know, help helped get you to the other side.
- 16:14Speaker 1: Oh yeah, my management. Now you know what I'm saying,
- 16:16Speaker 1: shout out to Madden. You know what I'm saying, they
- 16:18Speaker 1: coached us and really, you know what I'm saying, kept
- 16:21Speaker 1: our spears high when when shit was you know what
- 16:23Speaker 1: I'm saying, kind of rocky and shit. So it's not
- 16:26Speaker 1: too many. Not too many, oh GZ came in and
- 16:29Speaker 1: got it. But the ones who did, you know what
- 16:30Speaker 1: I'm saying, fell but grateful, you know, because we really
- 16:33Speaker 1: just we we tapped in and took it the point ourself,
- 16:36Speaker 1: me and my business partner, you know what I'm saying,
- 16:37Speaker 1: Shout out to James and really figured this shit out.
- 16:40Speaker 1: And V you know what I'm saying, V was locked
- 16:42Speaker 1: in with us. You know what I'm saying. We were
- 16:43Speaker 1: just really like trying to figure out the way is
- 16:45Speaker 1: how the fuck do we get out this bullshit? And
- 16:48Speaker 1: every day it was as soon as I wake up,
- 16:50Speaker 1: soon as I opened my eyes, we locked in on
- 16:52Speaker 1: you know, either we recording or we figuring out what
- 16:55Speaker 1: the hell we gotta do to get you know what
- 16:57Speaker 1: I'm saying out shit. So it was every day process. Man,
- 17:00Speaker 1: I don't regret it because I learned so much in
- 17:02Speaker 1: that time, you know what I'm saying, as far as
- 17:04Speaker 1: me being you know what I'm saying, the CEO of
- 17:06Speaker 1: my label, I learned all the ins and out. It's
- 17:09Speaker 1: the tricks I'm still learning, but you know what I'm saying,
- 17:11Speaker 1: It's like I got so much information during that time.
- 17:13Speaker 1: You mentioned that you moved to LA for a period
- 17:15Speaker 1: of time. Yeah, it seems like every artist does at
- 17:17Speaker 1: some point in time. Now, is was that something that
- 17:21Speaker 1: was like beneficial to you? Because I feel like sometimes
- 17:23Speaker 1: people come to LA just because it's the thing to do.
- 17:26Speaker 1: It was, it was, it was I say, fifty to
- 17:27Speaker 1: fifty when I came out here. We came out here,
- 17:30Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, just due to that was
- 17:32Speaker 1: the beginning of when my shit got fucked up when
- 17:34Speaker 1: I came to LA. That was when my ship was
- 17:36Speaker 1: getting rocky Atlanta on my management and all that shit.
- 17:39Speaker 1: That's why I originally left, like fuck, get away from
- 17:42Speaker 1: this show, me get out of here, you know what
- 17:43Speaker 1: I'm saying. Then we came to LA doing l a
- 17:46Speaker 1: shit lit party in you know what I'm saying, get
- 17:49Speaker 1: lost in the lifestyle till you know what I'm saying,
- 17:51Speaker 1: We look back at Atlanta. We about a year and
- 17:53Speaker 1: a half in LA. Liked what the fuck? Somebody else,
- 17:56Speaker 1: Poppy or somebody else, like, you know what I'm saying,
- 17:57Speaker 1: that shit don't ever stop. You know what I'm saying,
- 17:59Speaker 1: around this time, twenty one savage is bubbling yep. So
- 18:01Speaker 1: we're like, oh, it's a whole new fucking vibe coming
- 18:03Speaker 1: through the city, you know what I'm saying. And you
- 18:05Speaker 1: could tell the energy was different between you know what
- 18:07Speaker 1: I'm saying, people that we want was cool with. So
- 18:10Speaker 1: we had to pack our shit up in La as
- 18:12Speaker 1: we save a lot of money on rent. Boy, Yeah,
- 18:16Speaker 1: went back to Atlanta. You know what I'm saying. Kiss
- 18:18Speaker 1: the babies. You know what I'm saying. Did you know
- 18:19Speaker 1: what I'm saying, Aull the relationships that was fucked up right,
- 18:24Speaker 1: brought them back together the best way we could. And
- 18:27Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, We've been in the city
- 18:28Speaker 1: ever since, just building that ship. Yeah, tell everybody, I
- 18:30Speaker 1: feel like Atlanta is the one city in our industry
- 18:34Speaker 1: and hip hop, in our culture that is literally you
- 18:38Speaker 1: need Atlanta. You need it like you can't like like
- 18:41Speaker 1: Atlanta is what is the taste maker of all cities.
- 18:46Speaker 1: That's the one. It don't matter who you are. You
- 18:48Speaker 1: could be regional on the West Coast, You'll never be
- 18:51Speaker 1: anything else but La or West Coast artists And unless
- 18:53Speaker 1: you go tapping with Atlanta. You gotta tap in man,
- 18:56Speaker 1: and we knew that. Think about y G right, hy G?
- 18:59Speaker 1: Why G is hardcore l A West Coast? Remember? And
- 19:04Speaker 1: then the t T shit happened. And then my head
- 19:06Speaker 1: of rich Ony quads on the hear and that ship
- 19:09Speaker 1: put him on a whole other level exactly, and and
- 19:11Speaker 1: and it works the same way in Atlanta. You know
- 19:13Speaker 1: what I'm saying. If you, if you, if you even
- 19:14Speaker 1: came up in Atlanta for so long, you still you
- 19:16Speaker 1: can look at it as Atlanta artist. Now, Atlanta don't
- 19:18Speaker 1: need it. I really don't think Atlanta needs LA because
- 19:22Speaker 1: I think Atlanta don't need l A. But if you
- 19:24Speaker 1: want to, if you want to make that bridge a Gavin, listen,
- 19:28Speaker 1: you should tapping with LA because it got too you know,
- 19:32Speaker 1: it's the West Coast the way you got it's a
- 19:33Speaker 1: big as mark. The way I look at it is.
- 19:35Speaker 1: Atlanta music isn't regional music. It's just everywhere. Yeah. If
- 19:40Speaker 1: you go to the club in l A, eighty to
- 19:44Speaker 1: seventy percent of the music you're gonna hear, it's gonna
- 19:47Speaker 1: either be from Atlanta or from Memphis. Yeah, or it's
- 19:50Speaker 1: the South, the South going crazy. Period. You know what
- 19:52Speaker 1: I'm saying. Now, if you go to the club in Atlanta,
- 19:55Speaker 1: you're not You're not gonna hear the West Coast. You
- 19:58Speaker 1: might hear something here, Roddy the other one, yeah, you might. No.
- 20:03Speaker 1: But outside of that, if you like Atlanta, you go
- 20:06Speaker 1: to New York, yeah, you're gonna hear seventy to eighty
- 20:10Speaker 1: percent South music. You're gonna hear some New York ship
- 20:13Speaker 1: for sure because you're in New York. That ain't that's
- 20:15Speaker 1: the difference. You got point. Atlanta's sound is the United States,
- 20:20Speaker 1: but it's so different though. It's like the sound changed
- 20:23Speaker 1: so fast down that motherfucker. Though it does, it does,
- 20:27Speaker 1: but it also it does, but it like, that's what
- 20:30Speaker 1: makes Atlanta's so important. That's what makes Atlanta so important
- 20:35Speaker 1: because it dictates the sound everywhere exactly. You know what
- 20:38Speaker 1: I'm saying, And I agree with you in my whole life.
- 20:42Speaker 1: And I just seen a lot of this ship. I
- 20:44Speaker 1: was like, Man, I don't understand artists who don't go
- 20:46Speaker 1: tap in Atlanta. I've been seeing like you got to man,
- 20:50Speaker 1: that's an artist. Artists can't tap in Atlanta. We ain't
- 20:53Speaker 1: with you. Wh ain't fucking with you? There's an artist
- 20:55Speaker 1: out here the name named Kaln for real, for real. Yeah,
- 20:57Speaker 1: he did a great job of going to the South
- 21:00Speaker 1: first tapping it with like, you know, the homie DJ
- 21:04Speaker 1: Win in Florida and going to Atlanta and setting up shot.
- 21:07Speaker 1: It was like, yo, that's low key, like you gotta
- 21:09Speaker 1: do it that way, especially coming from this side, like
- 21:11Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, But no, that's the homie though,
- 21:13Speaker 1: shout out to Atlanta. So this is your last album
- 21:17Speaker 1: as far as Interscope records. This one the one I'm
- 21:19Speaker 1: about to draw. This one come out on the thirteenth,
- 21:21Speaker 1: and I got one more, so you got okay, okay,
- 21:23Speaker 1: So this one coming out on the thirteenth and my
- 21:25Speaker 1: mind one more, this one it had been done all right,
- 21:26Speaker 1: So it's done all right. And then from there you're
- 21:28Speaker 1: gonna you're gonna get back to the indie grind. I'm
- 21:30Speaker 1: get beast ton endiegrind. Lest somebody offer me your bag,
- 21:32Speaker 1: I can't refuse. That's fair as long as them terms
- 21:35Speaker 1: a right. Yeah, long as the terms right. You know
- 21:37Speaker 1: what I'm saying, Because I know how to I know
- 21:38Speaker 1: how to stretch the money, So you know what I'm
- 21:40Speaker 1: saying if anybody give me what I'm when you say
- 21:42Speaker 1: you know how to stretch the money, Like, what are
- 21:43Speaker 1: some things that you noticed artists fucking money off on that?
- 21:47Speaker 1: You're like, man, you don't really gotta do that. Like
- 21:49Speaker 1: I'm not even talking about like jewelry or shit. I
- 21:50Speaker 1: mean like music shit, Like it's is certain shit. If
- 21:54Speaker 1: you don't know what to hear you you paying foe,
- 21:56Speaker 1: you're gonna get you know what I'm say, You're gonna
- 21:57Speaker 1: get finxt it's a for next game we infinitition. I
- 22:00Speaker 1: still see artists like cutting bags to people who will
- 22:04Speaker 1: get you blog placements. You feel me like, and that's prime.
- 22:08Speaker 1: It doesn't matter if you don't know what you're doing.
- 22:10Speaker 1: If you got this guy said, he give me on
- 22:12Speaker 1: Complex for a thousand dollars, I'm like, bro, it doesn't
- 22:14Speaker 1: matter if you get on Complex. It's not it's not
- 22:16Speaker 1: twenty twelve. Bro. You might well do something viral and
- 22:18Speaker 1: send yourself up in a viral network or something for
- 22:20Speaker 1: one thousand dollars and get mold cloud. How do you
- 22:23Speaker 1: feel about like just kind of like the way TikTok's
- 22:25Speaker 1: kind of changing the way, I mean, it's really changed music. Look,
- 22:31Speaker 1: have you had like a TikTok moment yet where like
- 22:33Speaker 1: maybe I bust TikTok side of the head man Lotter,
- 22:35Speaker 1: it was TikTok. That was all TikTok. Yeah, that sh
- 22:38Speaker 1: it was that was the one that opened the flood?
- 22:39Speaker 1: Was that on purpose? Like did you put somebody? What
- 22:41Speaker 1: just happened? It just happened. Happened organically, you know what
- 22:44Speaker 1: I'm saying. And you know that the downside of it,
- 22:48Speaker 1: I don't really get the benefits financially from that because
- 22:50Speaker 1: it was some new ship. Yeah you don't. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 22:54Speaker 1: because that was that was like a year and a half.
- 22:55Speaker 1: That was just some some some new ship. So you know,
- 22:57Speaker 1: I didn't really get to see the full But yeah, man,
- 23:01Speaker 1: like we said that, we said the blueprint. Do you
- 23:03Speaker 1: know we want to we want a Cleo Award for that.
- 23:05Speaker 1: Do you see someone like t Paine who's on TikTok
- 23:09Speaker 1: and on Twitch like going crazy, he's hilarious, funny. Do
- 23:12Speaker 1: you see ship like that? And like, because I feel like,
- 23:15Speaker 1: you know, if you overexpose yourself sometimes it could be bad.
- 23:21Speaker 1: But if you got a great personality and you got
- 23:23Speaker 1: a lot like like dope content to bring at the
- 23:25Speaker 1: table could be a good thing for sure. Strengthen your brand,
- 23:27Speaker 1: is that something like where you're like, man, I need
- 23:29Speaker 1: to maybe do more as far as getting my personality,
- 23:31Speaker 1: getting who I am out there more, Yeah, I think
- 23:33Speaker 1: about that all the time. You know what I'm saying.
- 23:35Speaker 1: Every day, I'm trying to figure out what's my niche
- 23:36Speaker 1: that I can just do it or it don't seem forced,
- 23:38Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, Like right now, I'm heavy
- 23:40Speaker 1: on YouTube. You know what I'm saying. I do float sessions.
- 23:43Speaker 1: I bring my fans in to my world. You like
- 23:45Speaker 1: stream Nah, just just you know what I'm saying, just
- 23:49Speaker 1: everyday lifestyle type shit. You know what I'm saying, I
- 23:51Speaker 1: really do that just to get get a folks a
- 23:54Speaker 1: new insight on k camp just not just an album
- 23:57Speaker 1: or me just rapping the ship. But as far as
- 23:59Speaker 1: me being on TikTok doing all that ship ship, I can't.
- 24:02Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying, I ain't got the time
- 24:04Speaker 1: for it, and I don't want to know that. It's
- 24:06Speaker 1: something I ain't like. I ain't about to be just
- 24:08Speaker 1: doing all that crazy ship just for something. I feel you, Bro,
- 24:11Speaker 1: I'm cool, Bro, the TikTok shit is. It's a diffic
- 24:14Speaker 1: it's for me. I haven't even cracked the cookie. It's
- 24:15Speaker 1: a different world. Bro shout out my girl mon because
- 24:17Speaker 1: she'd be doing all my TikTok. She just takes pieces
- 24:19Speaker 1: for my interviews and post them. But yeah, it's ways
- 24:22Speaker 1: she's ship like Noah, but I'll be like that. I
- 24:23Speaker 1: know I want to do some original like ship on there,
- 24:27Speaker 1: but every time I open it up, I'm like, man,
- 24:29Speaker 1: I'm a grown ass man. You feel me exactly exactly.
- 24:32Speaker 1: But a lot of folks love that ship, man. You know,
- 24:34Speaker 1: say it worked for some that work, It don't work
- 24:37Speaker 1: for some motherfuckers. But would you ever get on Twitch
- 24:39Speaker 1: do the gaming ship? Yeah? Do you play games? Yeah?
- 24:42Speaker 1: Two K call of duty? Hey man? That for two?
- 24:46Speaker 1: That ship is a bag. It is a bag. My
- 24:48Speaker 1: manager was just telling us about that. They're paying folks
- 24:50Speaker 1: to uh to do it. But listen, there's someone I
- 24:54Speaker 1: know very well who's an artist who got paid one
- 24:57Speaker 1: hundred and eighty thousand dollars for real too play games
- 25:00Speaker 1: for two hours and talk about seven eleven's pizza for
- 25:06Speaker 1: during the just while he was playing video games. Hey v,
- 25:09Speaker 1: let me get that. So you out there, that was Twitch?
- 25:14Speaker 1: I need that hundred Eddy k for two hours talking
- 25:17Speaker 1: about pizza on Twitch. You gotta get that Twitch. That
- 25:19Speaker 1: Twitch is a movie. Yeah, I remember you saying something
- 25:21Speaker 1: about a couple of weeks ago. Let's yeah do that? Well? Look,
- 25:25Speaker 1: so the album after this album comes out, when is
- 25:29Speaker 1: the timeline to get the other one out? Out your deal?
- 25:34Speaker 1: I had a different timeline in my head, but it didn't.
- 25:35Speaker 1: It didn't work out like I thought. Are you trying
- 25:38Speaker 1: to get the album out before the end of the
- 25:39Speaker 1: year your last album? Rather if I could, I would.
- 25:43Speaker 1: Is it up to you or what the major label thing? Do?
- 25:45Speaker 1: They got to agree terms? It's the terms, you know
- 25:48Speaker 1: what I'm saying. You gotta just play play by the
- 25:51Speaker 1: rules and the terms and the agreements that everybody, you
- 25:53Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, agreed on. But if I could,
- 25:55Speaker 1: I would. But I say, you know what I'm saying,
- 25:57Speaker 1: quarter one Q two from next year, around that time,
- 26:00Speaker 1: I should be free m the last album probably came out.
- 26:05Speaker 1: I don't want We're gonna see get you back on Empire,
- 26:07Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, Shut of the empire anymore? Empire?
- 26:11Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying, there it is. Man. Well,
- 26:14Speaker 1: look I appreciate you pulling up. I don't know what
- 26:16Speaker 1: what's your single? Introduce it man? For the radio show
- 26:18Speaker 1: right now, I can't even tell you the single. Once
- 26:21Speaker 1: we drove the alum, were gonna let the fans shore.
- 26:23Speaker 1: But game a free, game a free You need the
- 26:26Speaker 1: song to introduce for the radio show. For the radio show,
- 26:28Speaker 1: We're gonna get youall guts stand now, which wan should
- 26:31Speaker 1: we be give? But by the way, there's a song
- 26:32Speaker 1: called Guts Guts. It's just about being inside of a
- 26:34Speaker 1: woman's guts. It's a line in the song saying that,
- 26:37Speaker 1: but it ain't about you know what I'm saying, Hey man,
