- 0:00Speaker 1: Well, good afternoon, listeners. Thank you for coming on to
- 0:03Speaker 1: Lament of Hope podcast. As you guys know, we always
- 0:06Speaker 1: have so many interesting guests. And by the time this
- 0:09Speaker 1: one comes out, we're nearing our 300th episode, which is
- 0:12Speaker 1: really exciting. But I'm talking today with Jennifer Goff, who
- 0:16Speaker 1: is the founder of Skip the Line. And I came
- 0:21Speaker 1: across this business and I was just so intrigued. I mean,
- 0:24Speaker 1: I don't know if many of you have heard of this.
- 0:26Speaker 1: I mean, I hadn't heard of it before, but I
- 0:28Speaker 1: was researching like niche jobs out of interest. And I
- 0:33Speaker 1: came across Skip the Line, which is this business where
- 0:37Speaker 1: the people there can actually be hired to wait in
- 0:40Speaker 1: line for you. And based on some of the Articles
- 0:44Speaker 1: I was reading, it's like if there are exclusive tickets
- 0:47Speaker 1: that are going to come out and you have to
- 0:49Speaker 1: be there really early in the morning and maybe you
- 0:50Speaker 1: wouldn't want to do that or don't have the time,
- 0:52Speaker 1: you can actually hire someone per hour to wait in
- 0:55Speaker 1: line for you. And they can be the ones to
- 0:58Speaker 1: try to get these tickets for you or be the
- 1:00Speaker 1: first 200 of whatever. And I was just fascinated by this.
- 1:05Speaker 1: And that is people's job that they do that. They
- 1:08Speaker 1: literally are the patients for you. if you don't want
- 1:11Speaker 1: to do it, or they literally do it for you
- 1:13Speaker 1: if you can't make it. And so I reached out
- 1:16Speaker 1: to Jennifer, and she was kind enough to talk with me.
- 1:19Speaker 1: So Jennifer, thank you so much for being on the podcast.
- 1:23Speaker 2: Yeah, thank you, Danielle. I'm really happy to be here.
- 1:26Speaker 2: Congratulations on almost your 300th episode. That's amazing. And so
- 1:32Speaker 2: I'm here to kind of chat and get into it.
- 1:35Speaker 1: So I have to ask, what, you know, you... Do
- 1:40Speaker 1: you get a lot of people who ask you, why
- 1:46Speaker 1: do you even have this business? Because my, I have
- 1:49Speaker 1: to be honest with you, I had my, my first
- 1:51Speaker 1: judgment on this was what a strange business. I was
- 1:54Speaker 1: thinking like people don't even want to wait in line
- 1:55Speaker 1: for stuff. And I, I mean, I guess because I've
- 2:00Speaker 1: always waited in line because I've never thought about asking
- 2:02Speaker 1: someone else to wait in line. But so my, literally
- 2:05Speaker 1: my judgmental cap came on right away and I was like,
- 2:08Speaker 1: why would you even have a business like this? I
- 2:10Speaker 1: was talking to my husband about it, and he was like,
- 2:12Speaker 1: why do they even have people hired to do that?
- 2:14Speaker 1: Why can't you do it yourself? So I wanted to
- 2:16Speaker 1: ask you, do you get that a lot? And then
- 2:18Speaker 1: how do you respond to that with like, no, this
- 2:21Speaker 1: is actually something I think is beneficial as opposed to
- 2:24Speaker 1: enabling some sort of impatience?
