- 2:05Speaker 3: I'm exhausted now the intro to the show is so exhausting.
- 2:08Speaker 3: I'm ready to go. Have you guys been sleeping okay?
- 2:10Speaker 3: With this cold weather? Usually I sleep like a baby
- 2:12Speaker 3: during this cold weather. But having a hard time for
- 2:14Speaker 3: some reason. It's the heat for me, Is it really?
- 2:17Speaker 3: I turned my heater on yesterday.
- 2:19Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:19Speaker 5: See, I like a you know you like it warm.
- 2:23Speaker 5: But when it gets too warm, I don't know about you, guys.
- 2:25Speaker 5: I will have nightmares if I'm overheating in my sleep.
- 2:28Speaker 3: Oh really, we never get there, because I'm telling you,
- 2:31Speaker 3: we do not when it comes to our quality of sleep.
- 2:34Speaker 3: We do not sacrifice. The air will go down to
- 2:36Speaker 3: you know, seventy seventy one, whatever the fans are on.
- 2:39Speaker 4: When I go down to sixties eight sixty seven, were talking,
- 2:42Speaker 4: We're not that deep.
- 2:43Speaker 3: We spend good money on our sheets and stuff too.
- 2:46Speaker 3: You know, we want the best possible scenario for sleep.
- 2:48Speaker 3: You people are fragile.
- 2:50Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, no, he shakes for himself.
- 2:52Speaker 3: Actually it's on a bed of nails, face down.
- 2:54Speaker 5: But when the heat is on and it blows on you,
- 2:56Speaker 5: it's it's hard to get your it's hard to get
- 2:58Speaker 5: your body temperature right elated overnight because you like to
- 3:01Speaker 5: be a little cooler overnight to help you sleep better.
- 3:04Speaker 4: But then it gets to be too cold.
- 3:06Speaker 3: Yeah. This goes back to the argument we had the
- 3:07Speaker 3: other day about is it is it is the heat
- 3:11Speaker 3: bringing a temperature up different than the air bringing it
- 3:14Speaker 3: down to the same number. We're gonna get yelled at it.
- 3:17Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying is that's exactly what she's saying,
- 3:19Speaker 3: because this everything about that artificial heat is whack. Yeah,
- 3:23Speaker 3: it smells bad. But I turned my system on this
- 3:25Speaker 3: morning for the first time because inside my house is
- 3:27Speaker 3: like sixty one degrees, So I turned it on just
- 3:30Speaker 3: get the chill out of the air. I got addicted
- 3:32Speaker 3: to it. Do you have a roof? Yeah, I was cold, dude,
- 3:36Speaker 3: because it was forty one degrees outside last night, and
- 3:39Speaker 3: it eventually gets in the house. We had no system
- 3:42Speaker 3: on or nothing, and no insulation.
- 3:44Speaker 6: Fat.
- 3:44Speaker 3: No, it was I think it was like it was
- 3:46Speaker 3: in the sixties. Up it's like sixty four, I think
- 3:48Speaker 3: is what it was cold enough.
- 3:49Speaker 7: Though, yeah, but and to that point, and I think
- 3:53Speaker 7: the point last time we brought this up that a
- 3:55Speaker 7: texture was trying to make. We talked about if you
- 3:57Speaker 7: if you cool it down, the seventy two is at
- 3:59Speaker 7: the same is heating it up to seventy two, right,
- 4:02Speaker 7: But it's because to heat up to seventy two, the
- 4:06Speaker 7: air has to come out warmer. So that's really what
- 4:08Speaker 7: you were experiencing, that air movement, that warmer air movement, right,
- 4:11Speaker 7: I suppose it's chilling. When it's chilling, obviously it has
- 4:14Speaker 7: to be cooler.
- 4:15Speaker 3: I don't like it, my face. Yeah, I don't like
- 4:17Speaker 3: the hot ass air my face. I don't care for it.
- 4:19Speaker 3: I don't care for the smell of it. When you're
- 4:21Speaker 3: fired up, baby, it's time, it's like burning plastic.
- 4:29Speaker 7: I missed it last night because last night was the
- 4:31Speaker 7: first time I put the heat on. But this morning
- 4:33Speaker 7: it was running and I'm like, oh, I missed that,
- 4:36Speaker 7: that new heat.
- 4:36Speaker 4: So yeah, we didn't get it either.
- 4:38Speaker 5: Apparently all our houses all ganged up on yours. By
- 4:41Speaker 5: the way, someone just texted us seven seven zero three one,
- 4:44Speaker 5: my husband turned the heat on when it was seventy.
- 4:47Speaker 4: Three in our house.
- 4:48Speaker 5: Well, come on, dude, I said, I'm texting the Jim
- 4:51Speaker 5: Colbert Show because they would all find that absolutely ridiculous.
- 4:54Speaker 3: It is ridiculous.
- 4:55Speaker 4: It on some socks, man, and a sweatshirt, not the heat.
- 4:58Speaker 3: Yeah, man, it was completely and utterly ridiculous. Yeah, what
- 5:02Speaker 3: do you think I'm the electric company here. Wait, that's
- 5:05Speaker 3: that's his life.
- 5:07Speaker 4: You're raising a barn.
- 5:08Speaker 3: Yeah, man, I do not care for it. I don't
- 5:10Speaker 3: like that artificial heat. I'd rather be freezing cold. I
- 5:13Speaker 3: walked around my pajamas and socks this morning like some
- 5:15Speaker 3: old man. Have you seen a mirror, sir, like some
- 5:23Speaker 3: some shuffling old homeless person.
- 5:25Speaker 7: You didn't like. Just stumble by any reflecting glass.
- 5:29Speaker 3: Then no, no, never to know, all right, seven seven
- 5:32Speaker 3: zero three one. That's how you text us again. If
- 5:34Speaker 3: you don't leave a talk back, that's easy. Just grab
- 5:36Speaker 3: the iHeartRadio app, go to real radio. There's a mic
- 5:38Speaker 3: there you can use to send it on down the line.
- 5:40Speaker 3: Today is a solemn day in America. Guys, I don't
- 5:43Speaker 3: know if you know that today is a solemn day.
- 5:46Speaker 3: We're making a change in this country that hasn't happened
- 5:48Speaker 3: for two hundred and fifty years. Yeah, McRib is back. No,
- 5:53Speaker 3: it is back, right, yeah, limited time, limited spots one. Yeah, yeah.
- 6:01Speaker 4: This this made me sad. Man. I've got a jar
- 6:03Speaker 4: at home and I'm hanging on to it.
- 6:04Speaker 3: Yeaheah. What do you think Jack, America changes today? A
- 6:07Speaker 3: job for the first time since seventeen ninety or so.
- 6:11Speaker 7: Oh, my goodness, pickle, something that would do with pickle
- 6:15Speaker 7: jar pickle, mayonnaise Helman's.
- 6:17Speaker 3: Today, the United States plans to strike its last penny
- 6:21Speaker 3: for circulation Today. The very last penny will be struck
- 6:25Speaker 3: by the US Mint in Philadelphia, and that will be it.
- 6:28Speaker 3: There are gonna be no more pennies now. The ones
- 6:30Speaker 3: that we have will still be in circulation. There's like
- 6:32Speaker 3: billions of them in circulation, but three hundred billions, all right, right,
- 6:35Speaker 3: But that will be the last of them, and eventually,
- 6:37Speaker 3: I guess when those cycle out or once we learn
- 6:40Speaker 3: how to make change without it. Gotta tell you, I'm
- 6:43Speaker 3: on board with it. I here's the thing. I don't
- 6:45Speaker 3: know how to feel about it. I'm gonna be that
- 6:46Speaker 3: honest with you. I'm indifferent because because I'm not a guy,
- 6:52Speaker 3: I'm not a big I don't like change a whole
- 6:54Speaker 3: bunch when it comes to my establishment, literally figuratively on
- 6:58Speaker 3: the change or both. I don't like establishment changes as
- 7:04Speaker 3: a rule. I don't. I don't care for that. And
- 7:05Speaker 3: maybe coming with my older age, or I'm just kind
- 7:08Speaker 3: of set of my ways, I can see where somebody
- 7:10Speaker 3: like Russ has been saying this for years. He's been
- 7:12Speaker 3: saying that they we don't need the penny for a
- 7:14Speaker 3: long time. They've talked about eradicating the penny for decades,
- 7:17Speaker 3: and every time it comes up, he's like, get it
- 7:18Speaker 3: out of there. And I just simply don't understand how
- 7:21Speaker 3: retailers deal with it, because here's the thing, it doesn't.
- 7:24Speaker 3: I mean, most people aren't paying with cash anyway. Can
- 7:26Speaker 3: you even remember the last time you dug into your
- 7:29Speaker 3: pocket to make exact change? No, Apparently it's cringe. Yeah, well,
- 7:33Speaker 3: oh really all the younger generations because.
- 7:38Speaker 4: They can't make change, so they call it cringe.
- 7:40Speaker 3: They call using cash cringe.
- 7:42Speaker 4: Okay, that's kind of like an analogy, is it.
- 7:46Speaker 3: Basically he'll turn into one of those situations where we're
- 7:49Speaker 3: always rounding up for some charity. Is that what it is?
- 7:52Speaker 3: I mean, because that's what you get now.
- 7:54Speaker 7: Right, So I think, yeah, it's and companies like I
- 7:59Speaker 7: don't know if it's you uniform or if it's just
- 8:01Speaker 7: specific certain ones that like two cents over they round down,
- 8:05Speaker 7: you know, if it's three four, three or four, they
- 8:08Speaker 7: round up.
- 8:09Speaker 3: And the reason they're doing this, and you know, when
- 8:10Speaker 3: you look at our federal budget, it seems silly that
- 8:13Speaker 3: this munch money would come into play. But the reason
- 8:14Speaker 3: they're doing it is it costs about three and a
- 8:16Speaker 3: half cents or so to make every penny, so obviously
- 8:19Speaker 3: we're losing money by printing them or stamping them. Did
- 8:23Speaker 3: you see how much a year or how much of
- 8:26Speaker 3: it is that we spend on pennies to make pennies
- 8:28Speaker 3: a year? And it doesn't as like fifty million, fifty
- 8:31Speaker 3: or fifty three million dollars or something to make these pennies. Wow,
- 8:35Speaker 3: but you know, you hear that number, and all we
- 8:37Speaker 3: hear now is billions and trillions. Million million seems like
- 8:40Speaker 3: a million. It sounds like where you're complaining about something
- 8:42Speaker 3: so stupid. But I wonder if the ones that are
- 8:47Speaker 3: coined are minted today will have any special significance when
- 8:51Speaker 3: it comes to collecting, because there's gonna be one hundred.
- 8:54Speaker 3: I mean, there's gonna be so many of them. There
- 8:56Speaker 3: are some pennies that are still worth money because they're
- 8:58Speaker 3: unique or where they came from, or the mint, or
- 9:01Speaker 3: they have double stamps. Usually it's error coins that have
- 9:04Speaker 3: the most value. There are some rare ones that are
- 9:07Speaker 3: only printed for our stamp for a short period of time,
- 9:09Speaker 3: but for the most part, it's only error ones that
- 9:12Speaker 3: I know of.
- 9:14Speaker 5: Are you looking for a future market to save kind
- 9:16Speaker 5: of like the old BB eights?
- 9:18Speaker 3: No? Yeah, yeah, no stopping.
- 9:19Speaker 7: Hi there you if you want to buy some coins.
- 9:21Speaker 7: I've got two folders of all the state quarters.
- 9:24Speaker 3: Oh god, cool, I remember when that came through. I
- 9:28Speaker 3: let that go for a good price. I just keep
- 9:33Speaker 3: face value.
- 9:34Speaker 7: Yeah, I keep just like like and you know what
- 9:37Speaker 7: you go to all the It's like my wife's like,
- 9:39Speaker 7: I'm going aldi you have a quarter.
- 9:40Speaker 3: I'm like, I got fifty of them. I'm made exact
- 9:44Speaker 3: change at a at a fast food restaurant, just the
- 9:49Speaker 3: other day because I had cash on me and it
- 9:51Speaker 3: like I just didn't want to put it on a car.
- 9:53Speaker 3: I got tired of charging something something. I'm gonna pay
- 9:55Speaker 3: cash today. You guys ever do that? Like you just
- 9:57Speaker 3: feel it feels more American to pay cash? Did it night?
- 10:00Speaker 3: Did you really I paid cash at the Twisty Tree?
- 10:03Speaker 3: Did you really? I paid cash?
- 10:05Speaker 4: A minute the ice cream sat he went for ice
- 10:10Speaker 4: cream when it was.
- 10:11Speaker 3: The coldest night of the year.
- 10:12Speaker 4: Hello, there's the vampire and you just breezed right past that.
- 10:16Speaker 5: Yeah, you went to Twisty Tree paid in cash on
- 10:19Speaker 5: the coldest night of the year.
- 10:20Speaker 3: Yeah, last night, And at that time when he was
- 10:22Speaker 3: holding it, that was the warmest thing in his body.
- 10:26Speaker 3: That ice cream he was holding was the warmest thing.
- 10:28Speaker 7: And went home ate it. You know what I found
- 10:31Speaker 7: at the bottom of the cup so much regret.
- 10:34Speaker 3: Oh yeah, we went to Jeremiah's the d N. I
- 10:38Speaker 3: haven't been to Jeremiah's Itellian ice in a while, and
- 10:40Speaker 3: I get that mango Jelatti. So it's got the vanilla
- 10:43Speaker 3: ice cream and then the main going between it goes
- 10:45Speaker 3: up and it I mean, it's that's serving as like
- 10:47Speaker 3: you know a scoop and you still feel like a
- 10:49Speaker 3: complete a hole eating It's so good though, all right,
- 10:53Speaker 3: seven seven zero three one. That's how you text us.
- 10:56Speaker 3: Your three o'clock keyword is money m O N E Y.
- 10:59Speaker 3: So I over to roll radio out of him and
- 11:01Speaker 3: send that away for your chance in a thousand bucks.
- 11:02Speaker 5: And uh, because we love our listeners. I did go
- 11:06Speaker 5: to mcriblocator dot com.
- 11:08Speaker 3: Did you really?
- 11:08Speaker 5: And I have found several in the Longwood, Orlando, Deltona, Lake, Buenavista.
- 11:13Speaker 4: And Maniola areas. So if you're anchoring for a McRib, it's.
- 11:18Speaker 3: Only gonna be around for like eight weeks or something.
- 11:20Speaker 3: Didn't I tell you? I already filled with regret? Question
- 11:25Speaker 3: of today penny? Should we?
- 11:27Speaker 8: Yes?
- 11:28Speaker 3: Shouldn't? I mean it's it's a done deal. Yeah, it's
- 11:31Speaker 3: a done deal. What are your thoughts though? Yeah?
- 11:34Speaker 9: Sure.
- 11:34Speaker 3: It says here that since the penny's retirement was announced
- 11:36Speaker 3: months ago, some retailers said there's already a shortage of
- 11:39Speaker 3: pennies complicating their cash based transactions. Kroger Home Depot, Walmart,
- 11:44Speaker 3: McDonald's and others are among the businesses reporting problems.
- 11:48Speaker 5: Yeah, we've talked about that, and during JCS news at
- 11:51Speaker 5: these establishments saying you got a round up or round
- 11:53Speaker 5: down because we can't make change.
- 11:55Speaker 3: That's crazy though, man, just the just the Nixon and
- 11:57Speaker 3: not have a plan to have anybody deal with It's like,
- 12:00Speaker 3: we're not doing this anymore. We don't know what we're
- 12:02Speaker 3: to do after this. We know we're not doing this.
- 12:04Speaker 3: Figure it out for yourselves, you guys, build a plan
- 12:06Speaker 3: and you tell us. What's what's interesting is the estimated
- 12:10Speaker 3: losses of revenue due to this. Yeah, because I mean,
- 12:14Speaker 3: if it's a penny a day for some people that
- 12:15Speaker 3: are doing a lot of transaction. That's why I asked
- 12:17Speaker 3: earlier how many people are actually paying in cash as
- 12:19Speaker 3: opposed to you know, putting in on their card or
- 12:22Speaker 3: Apple pay or something. I'm guessing the Apple pay a percentage.
- 12:25Speaker 3: That's really the question there. How many people pay you?
- 12:26Speaker 3: I mean, was that somebody paid for something in cash?
- 12:29Speaker 3: I mean, when is the last time you think our
- 12:31Speaker 3: audience actually dug into their pocket pay for something in cash?
- 12:33Speaker 4: A lot of people texting saying they do it all
- 12:35Speaker 4: the time, Do they really?
- 12:36Speaker 3: Yeah? Was it just like their food orders and stuff?
- 12:38Speaker 3: Or it can't be you're not paying, You're not ripping
- 12:40Speaker 3: out a couple hundred bucks at the grocery store, right,
- 12:43Speaker 3: I mean, are you are you paying cash at like
- 12:45Speaker 3: a restaurant? You do you keep a lot on you?
- 12:47Speaker 3: What do you think the most people keep? Bottom is
- 12:50Speaker 3: like twenty thirty bucks? Max? Is that the question of
- 12:53Speaker 3: the day. We put some backs. I've just kind of
- 12:56Speaker 3: you people who only have cash, Like my wife has
- 13:00Speaker 3: a friend and her father does not have a bank account,
- 13:04Speaker 3: has never had a bank account. He just keeps it
- 13:08Speaker 3: like cash. He doesn't and he pays for everything cash.
- 13:11Speaker 3: He buys money orders or do. He doesn't do anything
- 13:15Speaker 3: no digital transactions. That seems impossible to do today, Like
- 13:20Speaker 3: that seems virtual and it seems like so much work
- 13:23Speaker 3: to have to do your transactions that way these days.
- 13:26Speaker 9: All right?
- 13:26Speaker 3: Seven seven zero three, one doub What do you have
- 13:28Speaker 3: for news?
- 13:28Speaker 5: Government funding bill is headed for a House vote. Really,
- 13:32Speaker 5: the story is how House members are getting back to
- 13:34Speaker 5: DC that it's tasty, how much Disney is losing during
- 13:41Speaker 5: its YouTube TV dispute. Small change to worry about it,
- 13:44Speaker 5: it's not about it, and cross your fingers for another
- 13:49Speaker 5: celestial show tonight. We'll talk about that and more coming
- 13:52Speaker 5: up next During JCS news.

- 14:17Speaker 3: big eyes.
- 14:18Speaker 5: Would you learn that somebody always carries one thousand dollars
- 14:21Speaker 5: in cash on them?
- 14:22Speaker 3: Okay, let's listen to the station. Must have won.
- 14:26Speaker 10: That going.

- 14:54Speaker 12: It's in my contracted here's the news on the Jim
- 14:58Speaker 12: Colber Show.
- 14:59Speaker 5: And as always, JCS News is brought to you by
- 15:01Speaker 5: that mortgage guy, Don all Right. The House is expected
- 15:04Speaker 5: to vote tonight to end the government shut down. Overnight,
- 15:07Speaker 5: the House Rules Committee voted along party lines to advance
- 15:09Speaker 5: the government funding deal that's already passed in the Senate.
- 15:13Speaker 5: The majority GOP committee did not adopt any amendments to
- 15:16Speaker 5: the bill that would extend federal healthcare subsidies. A final
- 15:19Speaker 5: vote is set for after seven pm Eastern. And if
- 15:23Speaker 5: you've watched any of the news, a lot of lawmakers
- 15:25Speaker 5: are rushing to get back to DC and have decided
- 15:27Speaker 5: one is driving as Harley from like somewhere out in
- 15:30Speaker 5: the Midwest all the way to DC because what do they.
- 15:34Speaker 4: Want to deal with? Airport delay? Yeah, yeah, a little
- 15:40Speaker 4: cold exactly.
- 15:41Speaker 5: A lot of lawmakers doing the road trip thing because
- 15:43Speaker 5: they just don't want to take the chance they're not
- 15:45Speaker 5: going to be in DC tonight for that vote. And
- 15:47Speaker 5: speaking of those airplane delays, the effects of the government
- 15:50Speaker 5: shut down continue to be felt at Orlando International Airport.
- 15:54Speaker 5: Over one hundred delays and cancellations were reported yesterday. A
- 15:57Speaker 5: Pennsylvania man says he and about already. Others from his
- 16:01Speaker 5: cruise ship had to book hotel rooms for two extra
- 16:04Speaker 5: days while waiting for flights home. News that the shutdown
- 16:08Speaker 5: may end soon could bring relief, but FAA officials are saying, listen,
- 16:12Speaker 5: give it at least another two to three weeks, basically
- 16:15Speaker 5: bumping you right up into the Thanksgiving travel period before
- 16:18Speaker 5: we may see some really measurable relief.
- 16:21Speaker 3: That's exactly what Sean Murphy said. He said, Look, man,
- 16:23Speaker 3: this is going to be a matter of fact. One
- 16:24Speaker 3: of the big headlines today was don't let the shutdown
- 16:27Speaker 3: ending fool you. Yeah, traffic is going to be gnarly
- 16:30Speaker 3: for at least another two weeks.
- 16:31Speaker 5: The good thing is is that at least that means
- 16:33Speaker 5: TSA workers and air traffic controllers will start getting a
- 16:37Speaker 5: paycheck again. And speaking of the paycheck aspect, this Thanksgiving
- 16:42Speaker 5: could put a stress on local food banks, and that's
- 16:44Speaker 5: an understatement. United Against Poverty Orlando executive director on Jolly
- 16:50Speaker 5: Vaya says they're serving twice as many people a day
- 16:54Speaker 5: as they used to, and she expects that to continue
- 16:57Speaker 5: through the holidays.
- 16:57Speaker 3: I got an email from Carly yesterday about this very thing,
- 17:00Speaker 3: about how we may be able to help. So I've
- 17:02Speaker 3: got to get back with her probably tomorrow and try
- 17:04Speaker 3: to figure it out. But yeah, they are doing a lot.
- 17:06Speaker 5: I think this is single handedly the biggest issue we
- 17:09Speaker 5: could help right now because to meet that demand, United
- 17:12Speaker 5: Against Poverty Orlando is holding a five K fundraiser Saturday
- 17:15Speaker 5: at Baldwin Park.
- 17:17Speaker 4: Hey, you should go run in that, Jimmy.
- 17:20Speaker 3: You being run for mayor because I'm not running.
- 17:25Speaker 4: Via Tels Channel nine. They are absolutely in a crisis,
- 17:30Speaker 4: all right.
- 17:30Speaker 5: New court filings claim plans to build hotels and golf
- 17:34Speaker 5: courses in nine Florida state parks came directly from the
- 17:38Speaker 5: governor's office. The lawsuit was filed by former state employee
- 17:43Speaker 5: James Gaddis, who says he was fired after leaking the proposals.
- 17:47Speaker 5: Remember this was supposed to be an FWC IDEA. Hey
- 17:50Speaker 5: look over here, a right. Gaddis is suing for a
- 17:52Speaker 5: whistleblower retaliation, alleging the state punished him for exposing what
- 17:57Speaker 5: he called quote gross mismanagement end quote. According to the
- 18:01Speaker 5: Tampa Bay Times, the amended complaint adds details tying Governor
- 18:05Speaker 5: Ronda Santis's office to the controversial plans, which were later
- 18:09Speaker 5: scrapped due to public backlash. If you remember, the governor
- 18:11Speaker 5: had said, fine, if you don't want pick a ball
- 18:13Speaker 5: courts in your state parks, then.
- 18:14Speaker 3: Find it was kind of like that too.
- 18:17Speaker 4: It was like, why are you taking this personal?
- 18:19Speaker 3: It was like, wait, this person, he went like my
- 18:22Speaker 3: bad dog exactly, just an idea. He's like, I f
- 18:26Speaker 3: around you know that idea?
- 18:30Speaker 5: Well, speaking of the governor, Ronda Santis has some ground
- 18:33Speaker 5: to make up if he wants to be president. Overton
- 18:36Speaker 5: Insights released a poll yesterday on the twenty twenty eight
- 18:39Speaker 5: Republican presidential primary. It shows DeSantis in third place with
- 18:44Speaker 5: twelve percent support.
- 18:45Speaker 4: Who do you think is first?
- 18:47Speaker 9: Uh?
- 18:47Speaker 3: Probably JD Yeah.
- 18:49Speaker 5: Vice President JD. Vance came at first at thirty four percent.
- 18:52Speaker 3: Come on, Rudy Giuliani and Donald.
- 18:54Speaker 5: Trump Junior is second at twenty two percent. Oh my god, ahhs.
- 18:59Speaker 5: Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Junior came in fourth, and Secretary
- 19:03Speaker 5: of State and former Florida Senator Marco Rubio came in fifth.
- 19:08Speaker 13: Wow.
- 19:09Speaker 3: Yeah, Wow, that's a hell of a quiver. He's getting
- 19:13Speaker 3: better and better. That's a lot of interesting arrows.
- 19:16Speaker 5: Quiver is the interesting word you use there both noun
- 19:20Speaker 5: and verb. Ye, all right, Sombervar County residents can claim
- 19:24Speaker 5: victory against a developer. The Titusville City Council yesterday rejected
- 19:28Speaker 5: plans to build over sixty town home units at State
- 19:32Speaker 5: Roade four or five and South Singleton Avenue. Neighbors opposed
- 19:35Speaker 5: the project over concerns it would cause even more flooding
- 19:39Speaker 5: and harm wetlands. One man tells WESH two they know
- 19:42Speaker 5: first hand what fifteen inches of rainfall and eighteen hours
- 19:46Speaker 5: can do. Yeah, And of course I've been trying to
- 19:49Speaker 5: look for the story, but I heard that the folks
- 19:51Speaker 5: and the spring run estates and Eustas may possibly be
- 19:54Speaker 5: able to get home by five o'clock today.
- 19:56Speaker 3: Really, it's a one syllable about that in the news
- 19:59Speaker 3: to the where.
- 20:00Speaker 5: I saw it on a couple of local stations. However,
- 20:02Speaker 5: I haven't been able to find it on their websites.
- 20:04Speaker 5: But I'm going to be checking on that because that's
- 20:06Speaker 5: good news. Originally, the city officials had said they'd wanted
- 20:09Speaker 5: to get residents back in their home and time for Thanksgiving.
- 20:12Speaker 5: This is well ahead of that time frame that that's
- 20:15Speaker 5: able to happen, So good news for those folks, this is.
- 20:17Speaker 7: A community at twenty homes where the heavy rain washed
- 20:20Speaker 7: out the only bridge that went to the area where
- 20:23Speaker 7: their homes are in the case.
- 20:24Speaker 3: Exactly kind of had to step up and give a
- 20:26Speaker 3: loan to the home owners association so they could fix it,
- 20:28Speaker 3: so that the people in the neighborhood could pay it
- 20:30Speaker 3: back later on the road t fix or what did
- 20:32Speaker 3: they know it was, Yeah, bringing the Army Corps of engineers.
- 20:36Speaker 5: I don't think they brought in the Army Corps, but
- 20:38Speaker 5: that looks like they brought in a whole lot of concrete.
- 20:40Speaker 5: And I believe it was the city of Eustace that
- 20:42Speaker 5: decided to give the ho Way the.
- 20:44Speaker 4: Loan versus the county.
- 20:46Speaker 9: It was the city.
- 20:47Speaker 5: So but I mean, you've got another home in mountdra
- 20:49Speaker 5: that's teetering on the verge of collapse after all of
- 20:51Speaker 5: that rain.
- 20:52Speaker 4: But kudos to those folks in Titusville for Yeah.
- 20:54Speaker 3: For sure, let's get someone on the horn. They give
- 20:56Speaker 3: us the nine to one one.
- 20:58Speaker 5: Yeah, exactly, text us at seven seven zero three one,
- 21:01Speaker 5: because we've received text before from residents over at Spring Runs,
- 21:05Speaker 5: so let us know, yeah, is give us the t
- 21:09Speaker 5: that's so?
- 21:10Speaker 4: Is it s us or cringe.
- 21:13Speaker 3: It's too hard to keep up ringe.
- 21:15Speaker 4: It's too hard to keep up with Now.
- 21:16Speaker 5: The only thing I'm wondering is if the state is
- 21:19Speaker 5: going to come in heavy hand Titusville because there is
- 21:22Speaker 5: that state law that says local municipalities cannot say no
- 21:26Speaker 5: to developers.
- 21:27Speaker 3: Oh, I did not know that.
- 21:28Speaker 5: Yeah, because there are several municipalities in the state of
- 21:31Speaker 5: Florida that are taking the state to court saying you can't.
- 21:34Speaker 5: This law hampers our ability to manage our own Why
- 21:39Speaker 5: have the municipality That's the whole question. Yeah, that's interesting.
- 21:42Speaker 9: I did not know that.
- 21:43Speaker 3: I knew they had a pretty stronghold, but I didn't
- 21:46Speaker 3: know it was like that.
- 21:46Speaker 5: Look into that state law that says local governments cannot
- 21:49Speaker 5: say no to developers, because while the residents may be celebrating,
- 21:52Speaker 5: the state may come in and undo all of that
- 21:54Speaker 5: good work.
- 21:55Speaker 3: All right.
- 21:56Speaker 5: After record breaking cold on Tuesday, spring light conditions returning
- 21:59Speaker 5: to Central Florida, Temperatures warming up on Thursday afternoon to
- 22:03Speaker 5: the mid seventies. Even warmer conditions on the way. Look
- 22:07Speaker 5: for low eighties by this weekend. Early next week, we'll
- 22:10Speaker 5: see temperatures again near eighty degrees. Forecasters are calling though
- 22:14Speaker 5: for limited rainfall, and November is Manatee Awareness Month. Florida
- 22:18Speaker 5: Wildlife officials urging boaters slow down watch out for these
- 22:21Speaker 5: sea cows because as water temperatures drop, its cuddle season.
- 22:25Speaker 5: Manatees are moving to warm water sites like springs and
- 22:28Speaker 5: power plant discharge areas.
- 22:31Speaker 3: Cuddling. Oh my good geez, well, cuffing means the same kind.
- 22:35Speaker 3: Just makes it.
- 22:36Speaker 4: Really I've never heard that before.
- 22:38Speaker 3: I'll just go back to my skateboarding video.
- 22:40Speaker 5: It's like their size, they're hard to spot, so boaters
- 22:44Speaker 5: are advised to wear polarized sunglasses and follow posted speed zones.
- 22:48Speaker 4: Boat strikes are a major threat.
- 22:49Speaker 5: In fact, that's how most manatees in the state of
- 22:51Speaker 5: Florida are identified by the scars on their bodies, by
- 22:54Speaker 5: what propeller hit them wear. Anyone who season injured manatee
- 22:57Speaker 5: should call the FWC hotline, a Wildlife Alert hotline which
- 23:02Speaker 5: is eight eight eight four oh four three nine two
- 23:04Speaker 5: to two. And I have to say one of the
- 23:06Speaker 5: best things is going by boat with someone who's a
- 23:08Speaker 5: real Floridian and will be the first one to say no, no, no,
- 23:11Speaker 5: don't behave like that there's manatees right over there.
- 23:14Speaker 4: Don't be a debay.
- 23:17Speaker 5: Disney is reportedly losing a few pennies per day as
- 23:22Speaker 5: it's ongoing carrier dispute with YouTube TV continues. According to
- 23:26Speaker 5: reports from The Rap, Disney could be out this much
- 23:30Speaker 5: money and lost revenue if the stalemate reaches fourteen days
- 23:33Speaker 5: and there is currently no end to the standoff in sight.
- 23:36Speaker 3: Yeah, because I read a piece about that today right
- 23:38Speaker 3: before we came on the air, about what YouTube wants.
- 23:40Speaker 3: They want Disney to reduce the cost of their programming
- 23:44Speaker 3: for their platform, and Disney's like, I can't do that. Actually,
- 23:46Speaker 3: they're bound by law. There's this weird law where they
- 23:50Speaker 3: can't discount it for just one So Disney's like, look,
- 23:52Speaker 3: I can't do it because if I discounted to you,
- 23:54Speaker 3: I have to discount it to all the other carriers
- 23:56Speaker 3: or platforms. It's going to cost it a bunch more
- 23:58Speaker 3: than it's even costing them now, which has got to
- 24:00Speaker 3: be a absolute train full of money.
- 24:04Speaker 4: Well, what do you think so they could be day
- 24:06Speaker 4: are total? This would be total. I guess in the
- 24:08Speaker 4: fourteen days if there's no end in sight to the stalemat.
- 24:11Speaker 3: I'll keep it. I won't even go crazy. Don't go
- 24:14Speaker 3: Craig Cray, I'll go sixty five million. Ooh, I'll go
- 24:17Speaker 3: my original thought thirty million.
- 24:19Speaker 4: Sixty million. Wow.
- 24:20Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 24:21Speaker 5: So, Disney owned channels like ABC, ESPN and others have
- 24:26Speaker 5: been in the dark on the Google Base subscription streamers
- 24:28Speaker 5: since Halloween. That is prompted the service to offer a
- 24:31Speaker 5: twenty dollars rebate for customers to compensate them for the disruption.
- 24:36Speaker 5: Disney is facing increasing pressure to promote its direct to
- 24:39Speaker 5: consumer streaming service as more consumers opt out of traditional
- 24:43Speaker 5: cable bundles. While YouTube tv has previously said it is
- 24:47Speaker 5: quote working to negotiate a deal with Disney that pays
- 24:50Speaker 5: them fairly for their content end quote.
- 24:53Speaker 3: I'll tell you man, these streaming platforms may be about
- 24:55Speaker 3: to faffo a little bit. There is a bit of
- 24:57Speaker 3: a streaming war going on. I'm interested to see how
- 24:59Speaker 3: this is gonna kind of wind up hitting the hitting
- 25:02Speaker 3: the ground, because it is. It is really weird. They're
- 25:04Speaker 3: forcing people into some really interesting decisions. Yeah, and I've
- 25:08Speaker 3: given up some and now, and their prices are just
- 25:12Speaker 3: going on.
- 25:13Speaker 4: Thus and Armount Plus just announced another price increase.
- 25:16Speaker 7: Which I don't have, and then I look at Apple
- 25:18Speaker 7: TV and I'm like, do I need to? Every time
- 25:21Speaker 7: that bill? I get a push notification every time it
- 25:24Speaker 7: bills my Apple TV. And so when I see every.
- 25:26Speaker 3: Time, I'm like, oh, yeah, I hate it. I watch it. Yeah,
- 25:29Speaker 3: it's just a reminder. Am I watching this? Exactly?
- 25:32Speaker 4: Is this worth it?
- 25:32Speaker 3: We literally watch Apple TV once every two months, and
- 25:36Speaker 3: it's usually to do with the show HBO. It's a
- 25:38Speaker 3: little more expensive, but I get more use that Netflix.
- 25:41Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly.
- 25:42Speaker 9: All right.
- 25:43Speaker 5: Former NFL player Antonio Brown is getting somewhat of a
- 25:46Speaker 5: pass from a Miami Dade County judge. Well, he defends
- 25:49Speaker 5: himself against an attempted second degree murder charge. The wide
- 25:53Speaker 5: receiver will be allowed to work as long as he
- 25:56Speaker 5: wears an ankle monitor.
- 25:58Speaker 4: Twenty five thousand dollars ball one plus house arrest level three.
- 26:02Speaker 12: That's GPS roaming.
- 26:04Speaker 4: Brown's attorney claims his client was defending himself.
- 26:06Speaker 3: It's like a cell phone plan. I know back in May, Oh,
- 26:09Speaker 3: you've got GPS roaming level three. I want to see
- 26:13Speaker 3: this guy running routes with an ankle monitor. That's all
- 26:16Speaker 3: I want to see.
- 26:16Speaker 5: Well, he claims he was defending himself back in May
- 26:19Speaker 5: when he fired his gun to get away from someone
- 26:21Speaker 5: who was previously accused of robbing him. He's already turned
- 26:23Speaker 5: in his passport. He was extradited from Dubai, where he
- 26:27Speaker 5: had spent about five months.
- 26:28Speaker 15: Now.
- 26:28Speaker 5: Prosecutors argue he was trying to avoid arrest, but Brown's
- 26:31Speaker 5: attorney says he's had business there since twenty twenty two
- 26:34Speaker 5: and always always intended to face the charges.
- 26:39Speaker 3: Yeah, so what is his job now that you know?
- 26:44Speaker 3: What does he do?
- 26:45Speaker 4: He's footloose and fancy free.
- 26:46Speaker 7: He could be over there just doing an endorsement deal
- 26:48Speaker 7: with somebody. Yeah, but just in general, I mean business dealings.
- 26:52Speaker 7: I mean it's not in anything related to the NFL
- 26:55Speaker 7: to my knowledge. Yeah, I don't know with any team.
- 26:59Speaker 7: I think he had a Twitter account for a while. Yeah, yeah,
- 27:02Speaker 7: I think you get a fire. I think get a
- 27:03Speaker 7: legit fire too.
- 27:04Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 27:06Speaker 5: It would be interesting to find out what he is
- 27:08Speaker 5: doing though, right, I mean a lot of business going
- 27:10Speaker 5: over there. Big changes are coming to Camping World Stadium.
- 27:13Speaker 5: The Orlando City Council voted Monday to spend four hundred
- 27:16Speaker 5: million dollars on renovations the money will come from the
- 27:19Speaker 5: city's tourism tax revenue.
- 27:21Speaker 4: Oh, I think we're gonna be talking to Scott Maxwell moment.
- 27:25Speaker 5: The renovations include about two thousand more seats and modernized amenities.
- 27:29Speaker 5: Work is expected to start by the end of the
- 27:31Speaker 5: year and be done by summer twenty twenty seven. City
- 27:34Speaker 5: officials hope the upgrades will attract major events, including NFL games,
- 27:38Speaker 5: with the Jacksonville Jaguars right yep having the place to
- 27:41Speaker 5: play their home games in twenty twenty seven. Well, their
- 27:43Speaker 5: regular stadium undergoes renovation.
- 27:45Speaker 3: Which did an upgrade on this joint? Didn't we?
- 27:48Speaker 4: It feels like it, doesn't it.
- 27:49Speaker 3: It might have been like fifteen years ago, like.
- 27:51Speaker 4: A real deja boom moment, may have last year.
- 27:54Speaker 3: Anthonio Brown followed for Chapter eleven bankrupt So he's saying
- 27:57Speaker 3: he owed about three million dollars to eight creditors, including
- 28:00Speaker 3: one point two million debt stemming from a January twenty
- 28:03Speaker 3: twenty assault lawsuit. His estimated assets are fifty thousand dollars
- 28:08Speaker 3: or less. Oh okay, solar activity ten dollars a day.
- 28:15Speaker 5: As we learned from Robin Severan's Locos, solar activity is
- 28:19Speaker 5: forcing NASA to delay today's launch of Blue Origins new rocket.
- 28:23Speaker 5: The new Glen rocket was supposed to blast off this
- 28:25Speaker 5: afternoon with two Mars orbiters. However, intense solar storms are
- 28:29Speaker 5: causing a second delay this week. NASA also scrubs Sunday's
- 28:33Speaker 5: planned launch due to bad weather that was more rain
- 28:35Speaker 5: in Cape Canaveral. The launch has been delayed indefinitely while
- 28:39Speaker 5: officials assess the next available window, and speaking of that,
- 28:43Speaker 5: skygazers may be in for more northern lights and the
- 28:47Speaker 5: night skies. The Sun has emitted five X class solar
- 28:51Speaker 5: flares in the past several days, but a CME or
- 28:55Speaker 5: coronal mass ejection associated with its strongest flare has yet
- 28:59Speaker 5: to hit Earth. Data suggests that impact will arrive today now.
- 29:03Speaker 3: Timing dialogue from Ghostbusters it does.
- 29:06Speaker 5: Timing is uncertain, but strong levels are forecast to continue
- 29:09Speaker 5: into the night, offering a window of opportunity for skywatchers
- 29:12Speaker 5: across the United States, Canada, and most of Europe and
- 29:17Speaker 5: even parts of the Southern Hemisphere. I don't know if
- 29:19Speaker 5: you guys have seen the pictures new six HASM Fox
- 29:21Speaker 5: thirty five has them. Last night's light show reached unusually
- 29:25Speaker 5: southern locations such as Alabama, Louisiana, South Carolina, Texas, New Mexico, California,
- 29:32Speaker 5: and right here in Florida, including some photos taken as
- 29:35Speaker 5: far south as Sink Cloud.
- 29:37Speaker 3: I didn't see those. I saw some out of Pensacola.
- 29:39Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 29:40Speaker 3: We have a listener in Colorado who sent me some pictures.
- 29:43Speaker 7: And it looks like something you stream saver or something
- 29:47Speaker 7: you now create, you know, artificially, like a movie scene,
- 29:51Speaker 7: but it's really neat that it's genuine.
- 29:54Speaker 4: Have you ever seen them?
- 29:55Speaker 8: I have not.
- 29:55Speaker 3: I'm not either.
- 29:56Speaker 5: I saw them once in my life Green Bay backyard,
- 30:00Speaker 5: and it literally looks like God threw open his windows
- 30:03Speaker 5: on a spring day and you're watching his curtains billow
- 30:06Speaker 5: in the breeze.
- 30:07Speaker 3: And laws went on an Alaskan cruise and saw him
- 30:11Speaker 3: up there, and they said it was surreal. It is surreal,
- 30:13Speaker 3: just completely surreal. You don't even it feels like you
- 30:15Speaker 3: don't know what's happening. They said. You just feel like
- 30:17Speaker 3: something's happening to you that you can't stop. And it
- 30:20Speaker 3: feels a little sketch because it's so crazy. You don't
- 30:23Speaker 3: just because you don't experience.
- 30:24Speaker 14: Anything like that.
- 30:25Speaker 4: You don't.
- 30:25Speaker 5: But if you ever have the chance to see the
- 30:27Speaker 5: Northern Lights or even the Australian Borealist, definitely put it
- 30:30Speaker 5: on your bucket list.
- 30:31Speaker 4: It's something worth seeing.
- 30:32Speaker 3: Yeah, there's a cool map. I believe it was on
- 30:34Speaker 3: CNN today where they showed a map of the US
- 30:37Speaker 3: and with the aura, they showed how far it reached
- 30:40Speaker 3: down and where it was the most magnificent. And it
- 30:42Speaker 3: actually came very south and even today is going to
- 30:45Speaker 3: be you know, in the Mid States. I hope you know.
- 30:47Speaker 4: I was telling you earlier.
- 30:48Speaker 5: I wanted to do that story last night, but I
- 30:50Speaker 5: didn't think it would reach as far south as Florida,
- 30:52Speaker 5: only to be so disappointed this morning to wake up
- 30:55Speaker 5: and realize that people were actually able to see the
- 30:57Speaker 5: Northern Lights from here in central Florida.
- 31:00Speaker 4: And hopefully good luck tonight. That concludes your JCS news.
- 31:05Speaker 3: The lights all right for seven nine one six one
- 31:07Speaker 3: o four one text us seven seven zero three one. Hey,
- 31:10Speaker 3: money is your three it's like keyword that's m N

- 31:43Speaker 13: So the people and are complaining about how we are
- 31:46Speaker 13: complaining on the temperature and how cohol it is. Listen,
- 31:50Speaker 13: Florida is like taking a super hot shower and living
- 31:53Speaker 13: in that bathroom with whatever you set the thermost statue.
- 31:57Speaker 13: If you send it to sixty eight, you're gonna run
- 31:59Speaker 13: out coming for a coward because you're cold. If you

- 32:15Speaker 4: Kind of a great.
- 32:18Speaker 3: I'm glad we have this eighties soundtrack movie music in
- 32:22Speaker 3: the background because it sounds like this sounds like if
- 32:25Speaker 3: two guys are walking through a mall and there's no
- 32:28Speaker 3: dialogue during the scene, they're just like getting some new clothes.
- 32:31Speaker 3: This is the music that play well is going on

- 32:46Speaker 3: as well. Our buddy Darryl Payne pau Effect Dog Training
- 32:50Speaker 3: drops by about once a month here to talk about
- 32:53Speaker 3: your dog's behavior. It's a very popular segment. We usually
- 32:56Speaker 3: get a ton of phone calls and we do.
- 32:58Speaker 4: Mean canine, not your dog.
- 32:59Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, ca nine what it's your dog, right, Bob?
- 33:04Speaker 14: A question first, which is really important. Do we have
- 33:07Speaker 14: to get rid of all of that pennies because I've
- 33:09Speaker 14: got one at home that's gonna cost me.
- 33:10Speaker 3: A fortune together it called no fortune to keep her.
- 33:15Speaker 16: Oh.
- 33:18Speaker 3: Darryl Payne and his wife Penny do own paw Effection
- 33:20Speaker 3: Dog Training. You can find them Pawfaction Dog Training dot
- 33:22Speaker 3: Com and comes in to talk to you guys about
- 33:25Speaker 3: behaviors that your dog may have that you want to
- 33:28Speaker 3: either train out of them. We get a lot of
- 33:30Speaker 3: the same stuff to eat, the poop, the humping, the
- 33:33Speaker 3: uh don't get along with other pets stuff as well.
- 33:35Speaker 3: So if you have an issue, you're welcome to call
- 33:37Speaker 3: now it would be the time to do that. We'll
- 33:39Speaker 3: put you on hold the next segment. We'll take all
- 33:41Speaker 3: these calls, by the way. First things, how you doing, buddy, Yeah?
- 33:43Speaker 14: Good, really good. Yeah.
- 33:44Speaker 3: We get into a conversation. I know that you trained
- 33:47Speaker 3: drug dogs for Scotland Yard for how long?
- 33:49Speaker 14: Oh star? That years ago?
- 33:54Speaker 3: So twenty five years ago, right, so you you've we've
- 33:57Speaker 3: talked about this before. You actually showed us a video
- 33:59Speaker 3: of how you know dogs do react to certain drugs
- 34:02Speaker 3: or input, and it's pretty amazing how accurate they are.
- 34:05Speaker 3: I was telling a story about being on one of
- 34:07Speaker 3: our cruises early in my career, and it just so
- 34:10Speaker 3: happened that my room was next to a guy who
- 34:11Speaker 3: was a former DEA agent who did the same exact thing.
- 34:14Speaker 3: He trained dogs, and we got into the conversation about
- 34:16Speaker 3: how sensitive their noses were and because there are a
- 34:19Speaker 3: bunch of people sneaking weed onto the boat, of course no,
- 34:22Speaker 3: and he goes, he goes, well, from my experience, if
- 34:25Speaker 3: I put one germinated seed in the dead center of
- 34:28Speaker 3: a large suitcase, my dog would definitely alert on that
- 34:31Speaker 3: suitcase with just one germinated seed.
- 34:34Speaker 14: It's it's difficult because there's a lot of factors in that.
- 34:38Speaker 14: I mean, you can put cocaine inside coffee. So if
- 34:42Speaker 14: I put a bag of cocaine inside, you know, coffee granules,
- 34:46Speaker 14: a dog will be able to get rid of the
- 34:49Speaker 14: coffee smell and just detect the cocaine in there.
- 34:53Speaker 3: It literally puts it into two different compartments in its brain. Yeah,
- 34:56Speaker 3: it'll smell and it says, look, that's coffee. But there's
- 34:59Speaker 3: also some code in there, so we got to pull
- 35:01Speaker 3: that off to the side and just can't go.
- 35:02Speaker 9: The way I.
- 35:03Speaker 14: Describe it is that you know, we would smell pizza,
- 35:06Speaker 14: Hawaiian pizza. You and I would smell Hawaiian pizza. A
- 35:09Speaker 14: dog would smell every single individual ingredient in that pizza
- 35:12Speaker 14: separate from each other.
- 35:13Speaker 3: And be able to identify it. That's the thing. Whether
- 35:15Speaker 3: you can smell it is one thing, but whether you
- 35:17Speaker 3: can identify it, that's what makes like someone is very
- 35:20Speaker 3: interesting because you could take a sip of wine and
- 35:22Speaker 3: they could say, well, what are you tasting there? You're like, okay,
- 35:24Speaker 3: well it tastes fruity and a little sweet, and then
- 35:26Speaker 3: they go off on like you know, all kinds of
- 35:29Speaker 3: different tangents on what they taste because they're they're trained
- 35:32Speaker 3: to do.
- 35:32Speaker 4: So.
- 35:32Speaker 14: Yeah, and that's the thing. I mean, my my bomb dog,
- 35:35Speaker 14: my labrador hit on a wooden bench in the synagogue once.
- 35:40Speaker 14: And now this was just a wooden bench, solid wooden bench,
- 35:44Speaker 14: nothing in it, no compartments, nothing, and he hit on that.
- 35:47Speaker 14: So we run another dog on it and he did
- 35:49Speaker 14: the same thing. We put a scanner on it, like
- 35:53Speaker 14: electronic scanner, just out of interest because there was no
- 35:56Speaker 14: bomb in it, because you couldn't get a bomb in there.
- 35:58Speaker 14: And it was measuring you know, the average indication might
- 36:04Speaker 14: have been one hundred and twenty. It was measuring two.
- 36:08Speaker 14: And it turned out that there's an element of explosive
- 36:12Speaker 14: chemical in furniture polish, a little bit of TNT in
- 36:16Speaker 14: furniture polish, a trace amount, and where it had been
- 36:19Speaker 14: so highly polished over the years, it had built up
- 36:22Speaker 14: and built up now only just registered on the electronic indicator,
- 36:26Speaker 14: like the sort of thing they have in the airports.
- 36:28Speaker 3: So the darg but the dog was hitting on that.
- 36:30Speaker 14: So you know, one germinated seed, depending on how good
- 36:33Speaker 14: the dog was, you know, could be detected whether it
- 36:36Speaker 14: could be detective inside a suitcase with you know, there's
- 36:40Speaker 14: not a lot of scent coming out. It depends how
- 36:42Speaker 14: much scent can come out.
- 36:44Speaker 17: You know.
- 36:45Speaker 14: There's there's a thing called TN five hundred. It's TNT
- 36:49Speaker 14: inside a hemetically sealed plastic container which the Czechoslovakians produced
- 36:57Speaker 14: back in the eighties and then the Irish using that.
- 37:02Speaker 14: The dogs couldn't detect that because it could there.
- 37:05Speaker 3: Was no scent coming out, right, it was medically sealed,
- 37:07Speaker 3: it was vacuum sealed. The line yards. Yeah.
- 37:09Speaker 14: Once, I mean once they put a designator into the top.
- 37:12Speaker 14: It's a bit like putting a straw into a McDonald's cup, right,
- 37:14Speaker 14: you know, it broke the seal. Then they could smell it.
- 37:17Speaker 14: But it's semetically so that we had to train the
- 37:18Speaker 14: dogs on the plastic.
- 37:22Speaker 3: Yeah, and that's kind of you know, as we were
- 37:24Speaker 3: talking about this, people are like, well, you know, they
- 37:26Speaker 3: don't run the drug dogs through airports anymore, trying to
- 37:28Speaker 3: sniff to find out if you're bringing like a small
- 37:31Speaker 3: bag of weed or cocaine somewhere. What they're really looking
- 37:33Speaker 3: for is explosives. Is that the number one thing in
- 37:36Speaker 3: airports now that you're able to break out about the drugs,
- 37:38Speaker 3: but really you know that they don't really care as
- 37:40Speaker 3: much an you're you're not gonna be able to carry
- 37:42Speaker 3: enough coke to really affect the big the larger picture.
- 37:44Speaker 3: But if you have even you know, a half an
- 37:47Speaker 3: ounce or two pounds or pound or I guess a
- 37:49Speaker 3: handful of C four, it would be bad news.
- 37:51Speaker 14: Well, yeah, I mean to be honest with you, going
- 37:53Speaker 14: onto a plane, they are really interested more in the
- 37:55Speaker 14: explosives obviously coming off the airplane and you know you
- 37:59Speaker 14: come to oh, they're looking for fruit and vegetables, Yeah,
- 38:03Speaker 14: drugs in order honesty, most of the drug busts and
- 38:07Speaker 14: things like that are intelligent based. You know, they know
- 38:10Speaker 14: that something's coming through before it happens. They'll use the
- 38:13Speaker 14: dogs to indicate, you know, to you know, make sure
- 38:16Speaker 14: it's not a dry run something like that.
- 38:17Speaker 3: But the informants are really what given that area because
- 38:22Speaker 3: they're more interested, and rightly so, because I'm getting on
- 38:24Speaker 3: plane very surely more interesting explosives as I am, I
- 38:29Speaker 3: we have the same interest, that's right, all right. So
- 38:32Speaker 3: four oh seven ninety one six one four one. That
- 38:34Speaker 3: is our phone number. If you're out there you have
- 38:35Speaker 3: a dog that has a behavioral issue. It doesn't matter
- 38:38Speaker 3: what the breed is, with the sizes, none of that matter, ages, male, female, age,
- 38:42Speaker 3: none of that matters. If the dog has a behavioral
- 38:45Speaker 3: issue and you are fed up with it, it's driving
- 38:47Speaker 3: you crazy. You love the animal, but the behavior is
- 38:50Speaker 3: just really making it difficult. Give us a call because
- 38:52Speaker 3: Daryl can actually kind of give you an idea of
- 38:54Speaker 3: what you could start doing here, and then of course
- 38:56Speaker 3: he can tell you how they can help you as well.
- 38:59Speaker 14: Yeah, I mean in all those problems, then get rid
- 39:01Speaker 14: of that tection.
- 39:02Speaker 3: Yeah right, exactly. Four oh seven nine one one four
- 39:06Speaker 3: one lines are open. Pick one now and we'll do
- 39:08Speaker 3: your calls. Next, Bank is your fourth like you word?
- 39:18Speaker 3: That's B eight n K. Slide over to real radio
- 39:20Speaker 3: dot FM and send that away for your chance in
- 39:22Speaker 3: one thousand bucks. Bank, guys, is your fourth like you word?
- 39:25Speaker 3: Good luck? I'm Jim. There's deb Hello. Jack is here
- 39:27Speaker 3: as well. Yep, let's do Animal House.
- 39:31Speaker 11: She likes them fuzzy, free, feathery, tough, scaly. It's time
- 39:37Speaker 11: for Animal House with Roberts.
- 39:40Speaker 5: And Animal House is generously brought to us each and
- 39:42Speaker 5: every week by personal injury attorney Glenn Klausman over at
- 39:45Speaker 5: Klosmon Law. We'll tell you how you can get in
- 39:48Speaker 5: touch with Glenn at the end of the segment. But
- 39:50Speaker 5: now please join me in officially welcoming our guest today,
- 39:53Speaker 5: Darryl Payne from Perfection Dog Training.
- 39:57Speaker 3: Good, all right, we have some calls here for you, Darrel.
- 39:59Speaker 3: You d get at it. Yeah, of course, Daryl, like
- 40:01Speaker 3: Deb said, runs paw Afection Dog Training. That's Pawfection Dog
- 40:04Speaker 3: Training dot Com. We'll also tell you about the Facebook
- 40:06Speaker 3: page a little bit later if you need to make
- 40:07Speaker 3: an appointment right off for it. Let's go, And I
- 40:10Speaker 3: have to tell you I love Dan's question because I
- 40:12Speaker 3: had the same problem with my little dog as well. Dan.
- 40:15Speaker 3: How you doing, buddy, You're home with Darryl from Pawfection
- 40:17Speaker 3: Dog Training. What's your question?
- 40:19Speaker 8: Coon one? Guys, Hey, Darryl. We have an eight month
- 40:22Speaker 8: old female German Shepherd Great Pyrenees mix. She is very energetic,
- 40:28Speaker 8: but no matter how many times we take her outside,
- 40:31Speaker 8: we'll walk her up and down the street, We'll just
- 40:34Speaker 8: make sure she goes. Within five minutes of her coming
- 40:37Speaker 8: back inside, she's squatting, going to the bathroom in the house.
- 40:41Speaker 14: Yeah, she's got she's in the habit of going to
- 40:43Speaker 14: the bostroom in the house as well as normally. She's
- 40:45Speaker 14: probably gone there at some point. And you know what,
- 40:49Speaker 14: we let you talk out in the back garden for
- 40:52Speaker 14: tipee and they look around for the perfect spot. It's like,
- 40:55Speaker 14: come on it and they have to find the spot.
- 40:58Speaker 14: What they're looking for is where they went before. So
- 41:00Speaker 14: if they have an accident in the house, no matter
- 41:04Speaker 14: how much you clean that, then that smell is going
- 41:06Speaker 14: to be there. So quite often they'll come in and
- 41:09Speaker 14: they'll smell that. It triggers them to peer again. It's
- 41:12Speaker 14: more of a marking kind of behavior as well. And
- 41:15Speaker 14: eight months she is starting to push the boundaries. She's
- 41:18Speaker 14: a teenager. She's starting to push the boundaries. Females will
- 41:21Speaker 14: push you more than males. Range. It's only in the
- 41:27Speaker 14: dog world though, honestly, so you've got to You've got
- 41:32Speaker 14: a couple of things going on there altogether. What I
- 41:35Speaker 14: would suggest you do is when you come in from
- 41:37Speaker 14: a walk, instead of coming into the to the house
- 41:39Speaker 14: as you would normally do, come in, put her out
- 41:41Speaker 14: in the backyard for a little while and then bring
- 41:43Speaker 14: her in, so you're breaking the cycle, breaking the habit
- 41:46Speaker 14: that she's in, because it is probably a habit. The
- 41:49Speaker 14: other thing is, if peeing is a problem with anybody,
- 41:52Speaker 14: you know, don't leave water down all the time, down
- 41:55Speaker 14: every hour, you know, time it to go to going
- 41:59Speaker 14: out for a pee as well. So they drink, they
- 42:01Speaker 14: go out, they pee, that empties the bladder. Now the
- 42:03Speaker 14: water they've just drunk has got somewhere to go, but
- 42:07Speaker 14: when they come in, the waters has gone, so they're
- 42:08Speaker 14: not continually drinking and filling that tiny little better.
- 42:11Speaker 3: But thanks for recalled, Anne. But I'm telling you I
- 42:13Speaker 3: think that cycle thing, Dan, if you're listening still, buddy,
- 42:16Speaker 3: please do uh the cycle is the most important thing
- 42:18Speaker 3: because dogs are very habitual. That's what I'm learning with
- 42:21Speaker 3: our dogs, Like because my morning is pretty much scheduled.
- 42:24Speaker 3: Everything I do is almost at the same time every morning,
- 42:27Speaker 3: and she reacts to everything I do. She knows where
- 42:29Speaker 3: I'm going, she knows what I'm doing, she knows what
- 42:32Speaker 3: she's gonna get.
- 42:32Speaker 14: Yeah, they know what that what we're doing before we
- 42:34Speaker 14: do it, right, Yeah, they study us. That's the thing.
- 42:36Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, all right, seven seven zero three one four
- 42:39Speaker 3: seven nine one six four one talking to Darryl Pain
- 42:41Speaker 3: from Pop Fiction Dog Training. Let's go to Andrea. Andrea,
- 42:44Speaker 3: how are you doing?
- 42:44Speaker 12: You're all with Darryl Hi, Darryl hijack.
- 42:47Speaker 16: How are you good?
- 42:48Speaker 3: Doing good?
- 42:50Speaker 15: Okay, so my question is actually verirly similar to Dan's.
- 42:54Speaker 15: But my dog is he's elderly. We've been told that
- 42:57Speaker 15: he actually has dementia. And I just recently moved in
- 43:03Speaker 15: or with my boyfriend that has kids. But he peas
- 43:06Speaker 15: on the wall, peas on the bed, peas on his shoes,
- 43:09Speaker 15: not mine.
- 43:10Speaker 11: But he has dementied.
- 43:11Speaker 15: I don't know how to break that from him.
- 43:13Speaker 12: With him, that is.
- 43:16Speaker 14: Probably more to do with the move you just had
- 43:18Speaker 14: than it is the dementia in all honesty, because of
- 43:21Speaker 14: what's actually happening, where he's peeing on your your boyfriend's shoes.
- 43:26Speaker 14: That's a dominance thing. You know, there's been a change
- 43:28Speaker 14: of of pack there where he's been with you, he's
- 43:31Speaker 14: now you've moved in with your boyfriend. There's the kids there.
- 43:34Speaker 14: He's trying to work out the new pac dynamic. He's
- 43:38Speaker 14: a certain his authority over everyone. Okay, so I'm going
- 43:41Speaker 14: to pee on his shoes because he's the male figure,
- 43:43Speaker 14: which we've all done. So he's being on his shoes marking.
- 43:48Speaker 14: If he's going up the walls, that's marking so and
- 43:52Speaker 14: then the further up the wall it goes, the more
- 43:54Speaker 14: dominant and animal is. It happens with tigers too. Tigers
- 43:57Speaker 14: when they pee in the wild with their marketing, they
- 43:59Speaker 14: almost do a handstand to get the pe as high
- 44:02Speaker 14: up as they possibly can. It's like drunk men in
- 44:04Speaker 14: urinals in the pub. He will do that kind of
- 44:09Speaker 14: little way.
- 44:09Speaker 3: Yeah, we're good from about fifty percent of.
- 44:11Speaker 14: The case until it gets my age and then you
- 44:13Speaker 14: don't play that game anymore. So it's more about the
- 44:16Speaker 14: dominance than anything. If things are settling down the dementia,
- 44:21Speaker 14: I don't think he's the primary cause of this.
- 44:23Speaker 3: Although, so how do you start this? I mean, agree
- 44:25Speaker 3: with me. Is it just time because he will just
- 44:27Speaker 3: have to makeally realize that's his house now as well
- 44:29Speaker 3: as an he's sharing that space, or just gonna have
- 44:32Speaker 3: to get a lot more shoes.
- 44:33Speaker 14: No, yeah, I think it's more about the fact that
- 44:37Speaker 14: your your boyfriend needs to show that he's the leader,
- 44:41Speaker 14: not the dog, because if you just leave it, it's
- 44:44Speaker 14: never going to get better on its own. It's going
- 44:45Speaker 14: to just keep going until the dog established itself as
- 44:48Speaker 14: the leader and other things will happen.
- 44:50Speaker 3: Her boyfriend should pee on his toys then, But does.
- 44:55Speaker 14: Your boyfriend have toys?
- 44:56Speaker 8: I don't know.
- 44:58Speaker 14: So, So with regards to the dementia, if you are
- 45:03Speaker 14: starting to get into that stage as well, just coming
- 45:05Speaker 14: off topic slightly, when dogs get to that point, we
- 45:08Speaker 14: treat them like they're eight week old puppies again, so
- 45:12Speaker 14: taking him out every hour, that kind of thing, because
- 45:15Speaker 14: they act like puppies. It's like humans, you know, we
- 45:18Speaker 14: go from being babies where we can't look after ourselves
- 45:20Speaker 14: to being you know, old people with dementia who can't
- 45:23Speaker 14: look after himself. So with that side of things, treat
- 45:26Speaker 14: him like a puppy if that starts to present itself.
- 45:29Speaker 14: But I think the problem we've got at the moment
- 45:31Speaker 14: is more to do with dominance and the change of pack.
- 45:33Speaker 3: Yeah, thanks to Ricotty Andrew appreciate that very much. Just
- 45:36Speaker 3: if you have any continuing issues again, just keep listening.
- 45:39Speaker 3: We'll give you the information ab how to contact RYL
- 45:40Speaker 3: make an appointment if you have to that we can
- 45:42Speaker 3: have it in house. Adjustment we like to see that. Angie.
- 45:46Speaker 3: How you doing You're on with Darryl Pin take good?
- 45:49Speaker 12: How are you all doing?
- 45:49Speaker 3: Good?
- 45:50Speaker 17: Hey?
- 45:50Speaker 12: Angree, Hey there.
- 45:52Speaker 18: So I have a two year old male palm chee
- 45:54Speaker 18: who's barking has just become unbearable. No matter what we do,
- 45:58Speaker 18: we'll walk them fat, I'm attention. He just will stop
- 46:02Speaker 18: and bark for no reason whatsoever and will not stop
- 46:05Speaker 18: barking unless we just put him in this craze.
- 46:08Speaker 17: I don't.
- 46:08Speaker 18: It's getting to the point where we can't even hold
- 46:10Speaker 18: a conversation without him just barking to interrupt us, to
- 46:12Speaker 18: where we just we want to get rid of them.
- 46:14Speaker 4: We love them.
- 46:17Speaker 14: Well, don't don't get rid of him. Give us a call.
- 46:19Speaker 14: We'll get it fixed for you. It's a very simple fix.
- 46:22Speaker 14: The reason it's happening is because he's two years old.
- 46:26Speaker 14: It's like a toddler tugging you know, mum's mum's pant
- 46:29Speaker 14: legs the whole time, mummy watching. So that's that's what
- 46:35Speaker 14: you've got going on. It's it's the dog demanding attention,
- 46:39Speaker 14: demanding to be the center of attention, and it's very
- 46:43Speaker 14: easily fixed. Just give us a call, will come round.
- 46:46Speaker 14: Nothing painful, nothing physical, nothing that will make him afraid
- 46:49Speaker 14: of you. But you won't have to get rid of
- 46:51Speaker 14: it either.
- 46:51Speaker 3: Yeah, thanks for your Carley, and you appreciate it so much.
- 46:53Speaker 3: From was breaking up a little bit, so we had
- 46:55Speaker 3: to kind of put you on a hold. There. Let's
- 46:57Speaker 3: get to this last call here. This is Lisa, Lisa,
- 46:59Speaker 3: how you don't on your home with Darryl Payne.
- 47:01Speaker 15: Guys, thank you so much for taking a call. Guys,
- 47:05Speaker 15: And I've been listening. I see, I've listened to a
- 47:07Speaker 15: lot of things she said. And I'm totally in awe
- 47:12Speaker 15: of a lot of the things. I've been raised with
- 47:14Speaker 15: animals in my life. But some of the things you
- 47:15Speaker 15: say just kind of like, you know, it's like, well,
- 47:17Speaker 15: I never thought of that. We are not normal dog owners.
- 47:21Speaker 15: My kids finally got a dog, and my husband's a
- 47:24Speaker 15: transplant patient, so we got this dog.
- 47:27Speaker 11: She's a year old.
- 47:28Speaker 15: She's a he's a pit ball. They thought she was
- 47:31Speaker 15: a pit bull rock, but she's looking like she's a
- 47:33Speaker 15: staff pick, you know, but the white coloring on it.
- 47:36Speaker 15: She likes to like lick me all over the face.
- 47:40Speaker 14: M that Okay. I thought we were going somewhere with
- 47:45Speaker 14: the transplant then, so that's the point.
- 47:47Speaker 15: Yeah, no, no, he's a transplant. Pat want transa he
- 47:49Speaker 15: didn't want a dog, And now it's like his best friend.
- 47:53Speaker 4: So that's always the way it happens.
- 47:55Speaker 10: Dog.
- 47:56Speaker 15: But now he's on with her all day. I work
- 47:58Speaker 15: two jobs. I come home, I have a little playtime
- 48:01Speaker 15: with her. But when I lay down on this couch,
- 48:03Speaker 15: she will come up and say hi, which I love her.
- 48:07Speaker 15: But then she'll start this lick mode. But she'll go
- 48:10Speaker 15: all the way full plate face. I'm trying to not
- 48:13Speaker 15: get her to lick my face. I don't mind licking aside.
- 48:16Speaker 15: I mean she's licking like she's going in for something
- 48:19Speaker 15: I don't know what.
- 48:20Speaker 3: All right, all right, you know that you just successfully
- 48:24Speaker 3: made this weird.
- 48:26Speaker 14: A lot of people pay a lot of money for
- 48:27Speaker 14: this kind of thing.
- 48:29Speaker 4: There, let us cute up your music man.
- 48:32Speaker 14: Yeah, dog, Well, the good news is she loves you.
- 48:44Speaker 14: The bad news is that she's grooming you and washing
- 48:46Speaker 14: you if you if you give us a call, we'll
- 48:49Speaker 14: come over and fix that for you. We want to
- 48:51Speaker 14: do something that you know, stops her from being, you know,
- 48:55Speaker 14: a lick monster. Yeah, a little too attentive to you.
- 48:58Speaker 14: Which she obviously is.
- 49:00Speaker 15: There's one more thing I wanted to ask you about too.
- 49:03Speaker 15: She's not She's a great dog. She loves people, but
- 49:07Speaker 15: whenever she sees somebody, anybody in a car come in
- 49:10Speaker 15: the house, barking is normal. But she is the one
- 49:13Speaker 15: point where she wants to bark and grow at every
- 49:16Speaker 15: single person, to the point it's kind of scared of people.
- 49:19Speaker 11: Yeah, and she's not a mean dog, she says.
- 49:22Speaker 15: I know she's establishing her, you know, dominancy, but I'm
- 49:26Speaker 15: just I try to tell her to.
- 49:27Speaker 18: Stop, and she don't want to listen.
- 49:28Speaker 15: So that could be puppy because she's a year old,
- 49:31Speaker 15: she's seventy pounds.
- 49:32Speaker 14: No, I think you know, the age comes into it
- 49:35Speaker 14: because she's grown up now. But the two things you
- 49:38Speaker 14: mentioned actually are both links. So the licking of you
- 49:42Speaker 14: is a dominant act. She's grooming you and washing you.
- 49:48Speaker 14: It's like the old days where you know, in this
- 49:50Speaker 14: when I grew up in the sixties, your mum would
- 49:52Speaker 14: spit on her handkerchief and then wash your face with
- 49:54Speaker 14: a similar which I went to do once with our
- 49:59Speaker 14: kids and my wife threatened to kill me for it.
- 50:02Speaker 14: So it's like that. But so that's a dominant behavior,
- 50:06Speaker 14: and so is the barking and the growling other people outside.
- 50:09Speaker 14: She's taken or she's taking on this role of being
- 50:11Speaker 14: over protective of the family. One of it is, you know,
- 50:15Speaker 14: you've become one of her puppies and she's you know,
- 50:18Speaker 14: looking after you, but also she's protecting everybody, and we
- 50:21Speaker 14: don't want to get that out of hand. She's only
- 50:23Speaker 14: a year old, you know. By the time she is
- 50:25Speaker 14: two three, four years old, that's going to get a
- 50:27Speaker 14: little out of hand for you. So you know, do
- 50:28Speaker 14: give us a call. Let's let's fix that for you
- 50:31Speaker 14: so that you know things don't don't spiral.
- 50:33Speaker 3: Thanks Leaks, appreciate it so much. Speaking of that, let's
- 50:35Speaker 3: tell people how to get ahold of you.

- 52:55Speaker 6: I've been to, Yes, and I'm going up there with Berlin, Unich, London, Amsterdam.
- 53:00Speaker 6: I'm New York, or Orlando and I lived there Miami.
- 53:04Speaker 6: Like just the whole vibe, the whole walkability of it
- 53:07Speaker 6: in between the isthmus Man Madison was awesome.

- 53:47Speaker 3: to come over and talk about some things he's got
- 53:49Speaker 3: going on, what he's writing about. Orlando Sentinels where you
- 53:52Speaker 3: can find and Wednesday, Thursdays and Sundays. You guys give
- 53:55Speaker 3: it up. Good lound for mister Scott Maxwell.
- 54:00Speaker 19: What you know, if we're throwing random travel darts out,
- 54:04Speaker 19: I'd like to throw a shout out to Minnesota.
- 54:07Speaker 4: Another great state Minnesota.
- 54:09Speaker 18: Huh.
- 54:09Speaker 3: I guess if I had to throw one out there
- 54:11Speaker 3: that I would tell people to go to. That's the
- 54:12Speaker 3: best deal for your money and it's a lot of fun.
- 54:15Speaker 3: Is Maine's lovely? Yeah, Maine in New Mexico are two
- 54:19Speaker 3: like kind of outlier spots that I've experienced over the
- 54:22Speaker 3: last and Jackie shouldn't have actually even had a parallel
- 54:24Speaker 3: experience in New Mexico. Yeah, it was great when him
- 54:26Speaker 3: and he and Naomi went out. But I've been to
- 54:28Speaker 3: Maine a couple of times. I have to tell you, man,
- 54:30Speaker 3: great food, great beer. If you're a pothead, weeds legal,
- 54:35Speaker 3: and naturally one of the coolest states that we have
- 54:38Speaker 3: with a Kadie National Park on the east side, then
- 54:40Speaker 3: going westward Quebec. It's just a coolest place. It's a
- 54:44Speaker 3: and it's a it's a grown up place to visit.
- 54:47Speaker 3: There are no there ain't noffing around up in Maine. Dude,
- 54:49Speaker 3: that's a grown up place to go.
- 54:51Speaker 19: We did a a Katie a couple of years ago,
- 54:54Speaker 19: and I would say the exact same thing. One of
- 54:57Speaker 19: the coolest things about there is you don't even have
- 54:59Speaker 19: to be huge to hiking, but you can start on
- 55:02Speaker 19: a trail right at the ocean, you know, right at
- 55:04Speaker 19: the ocean, I mean on the beach, and if you're
- 55:07Speaker 19: you know, you got a little bit of fitness.
- 55:08Speaker 9: But thirty minutes later you're on the cliff.
- 55:11Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know, five.
- 55:12Speaker 9: Hundred feet above the water.
- 55:14Speaker 12: It is.
- 55:14Speaker 19: It is a really neat But the problem is today
- 55:16Speaker 19: is like the last day you can visit Maine until March.
- 55:19Speaker 3: Right, yeah, exactly. The other issue is this, I say
- 55:22Speaker 3: issue is not an issue, but when you go there
- 55:24Speaker 3: for the first time. We were in September, when we
- 55:26Speaker 3: went a year.
- 55:27Speaker 9: After early October, same, yeah, yeah.
- 55:29Speaker 3: So when and you're right, it gets it gets cold
- 55:31Speaker 3: quick up there, right, I mean your August evenings are
- 55:33Speaker 3: like in the late August is like in the thirties already.
- 55:36Speaker 3: But when you drive through Acadian National Park and you
- 55:38Speaker 3: experienced that, it seems fake, like it seems like something
- 55:42Speaker 3: like an anomaly naturally happened, and it just seems fake
- 55:45Speaker 3: and it seems like something somebody built. Because it's so beautiful.
- 55:48Speaker 3: You can't believe that anything naturally can happen so perfectly
- 55:51Speaker 3: like that, you know.
- 55:53Speaker 9: Yeah, and the weather is so cool.
- 55:54Speaker 19: We were sweating our rears off while hiking at the
- 55:57Speaker 19: top of a mountain in Acadia in the morning and
- 56:02Speaker 19: sweaters and jeans and as the mist and.
- 56:05Speaker 9: The fog came in over the evening on a boat
- 56:08Speaker 9: ride while looking for whales.
- 56:09Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure, awesome place up there.
- 56:11Speaker 7: Charlie fer Main just texted in. He's listening and Joe says,
- 56:15Speaker 7: it's snowing in Bangor today.
- 56:17Speaker 3: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah yeah, and that's where you're flying
- 56:19Speaker 3: in back.
- 56:20Speaker 19: Well, the other thing you mentioned, Jim, that you've actually
- 56:23Speaker 19: you are responsible for putting on my bucket list, and
- 56:25Speaker 19: I feel like it was was it Main or New
- 56:27Speaker 19: Hampshire where you did your snow movie?
- 56:29Speaker 3: Oh that's Main Yeah, yeah, yeah, I've got this straight
- 56:32Speaker 3: hookup for that. If you ever want to have a
- 56:34Speaker 3: snow building experience, I've got the spot. And the cool
- 56:37Speaker 3: thing is you booked the lodge, which is like basically
- 56:39Speaker 3: brand new, and on the way to the lodge from
- 56:41Speaker 3: the airport, you stop and get all your snowball billing stuff.
- 56:44Speaker 3: They deliver your snowmobile to the lodge the next morning
- 56:46Speaker 3: and off you go. It is was it something like
- 56:49Speaker 3: Partridge Lake Parlan Plan?
- 56:52Speaker 12: Leave it or not?
- 56:53Speaker 19: Jim, I wrote it down when you first mentioned it
- 56:54Speaker 19: to me, like a decade. Yeah, you made it sound so.
- 56:57Speaker 3: Yeah, Lake Parland Lodge. Every buddy Joe Cruisey and his
- 57:00Speaker 3: wife Liz own that and and they're amazing people for
- 57:03Speaker 3: one thing. But that place up there is just absolutely magical, dude.
- 57:06Speaker 3: And it's very affordable. That's a good thing about it too, Scott.
- 57:09Speaker 7: Just be real careful if you're gonna Snowmollbill with your wife.
- 57:12Speaker 7: It can be dangerous for spouses.
- 57:15Speaker 9: I remember hearing that party as well.
- 57:17Speaker 3: I don't get reminded about it though, not any more.
- 57:21Speaker 19: Well, you know what, they're not great places to live
- 57:24Speaker 19: right now this time of year.
- 57:26Speaker 9: This is a pretty damn nice place.
- 57:28Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 57:28Speaker 9: I mean you cannot beat the weather today.
- 57:30Speaker 3: You cannot. You cannot, and in fact.
- 57:33Speaker 9: Before while I'm just randomly thinking about it. Two weeks
- 57:36Speaker 9: from tomorrow, is that?
- 57:37Speaker 1: No?
- 57:37Speaker 9: Three weeks whenever?
- 57:38Speaker 8: Thanks?
- 57:38Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 57:39Speaker 19: Thanksgiving is is my annual list of one hundred and
- 57:42Speaker 19: one things to love about Central Florida. So if any
- 57:44Speaker 19: of your listeners want to send in suggestion, I usually
- 57:47Speaker 19: get about five hundred suggestions. I'm looking for restaurants, you know, museums, theaters,
- 57:53Speaker 19: natural attractions, people, dishes, outdoor spots, any trails, anything you
- 57:59Speaker 19: might like you want to put on there, you can
- 58:01Speaker 19: send them to me Smaxwell at Orlando Centinel Dot Yeah.
- 58:03Speaker 3: Events. I actually saw you put out the holler for
- 58:05Speaker 3: that last week, so I know that's one of your
- 58:08Speaker 3: more popular columns throughout the year. So check that out
- 58:10Speaker 3: for sure. Speaking of popular columns, I read your piece
- 58:13Speaker 3: today about visit Orlando, and you know, we've talked about
- 58:16Speaker 3: visit Orlando quite a bit on the show with you
- 58:18Speaker 3: over the last years because it's a valiant effort to
- 58:21Speaker 3: you know, shed some light on what's happening over there,
- 58:22Speaker 3: and it looks like, finally maybe there may be some
- 58:25Speaker 3: movement on, you know, regulating what happens with that place.
- 58:28Speaker 3: What did you find?
- 58:30Speaker 19: Yeah, you know, I decided to take a step back,
- 58:32Speaker 19: and one of the things I was looking at it
- 58:34Speaker 19: is we're at a point in America right now where
- 58:36Speaker 19: there's a real crackdown on spending.
- 58:38Speaker 9: I mean we know that, you know, you say the
- 58:40Speaker 9: word doge.
- 58:41Speaker 19: The word didn't exist a year ago, literally and now
- 58:44Speaker 19: everybody knows what is and there's a crackdown and visit
- 58:47Speaker 19: Orlando is the absolute opposite of that. Their budget, their
- 58:51Speaker 19: subsities have tripled over the course of a decade. They
- 58:53Speaker 19: went from thirty five million dollars and taxes a year
- 58:56Speaker 19: they were getting, you know, as as the region's Tourism
- 58:58Speaker 19: Promotion Bureau, to one hundred and five million dollars. And
- 59:03Speaker 19: that's a lot of money. That's more money than some
- 59:05Speaker 19: small cities are spending. And one of my beefs has
- 59:08Speaker 19: been that there's not really been a whole lot of
- 59:10Speaker 19: checks and balances. And every time we found something that
- 59:12Speaker 19: was questionable about what they were doing, like spending nine
- 59:16Speaker 19: thousand dollars on a business class airfare to Dubai, throwing
- 59:19Speaker 19: one hundred and three thousand dollars party when they were
- 59:22Speaker 19: running radio ads, and I know we like radio ads,
- 59:27Speaker 19: but when they were running radio ads around Central Florida
- 59:29Speaker 19: that were encouraging people to be grateful for having a
- 59:32Speaker 19: tourism economy, that's fine for a PSA, but that's not
- 59:35Speaker 19: what we pay tax dollars to Orlando for. We pay
- 59:38Speaker 19: them to get other people to get their ass down
- 59:40Speaker 19: to Orlando. I mean, that's what we pay And every
- 59:43Speaker 19: time we would ask about that kind of money.
- 59:45Speaker 9: They would They would say, oh, you know what, that's
- 59:48Speaker 9: private money.
- 59:50Speaker 19: I know, we get a lot of tax dollars, but
- 59:52Speaker 19: we're spending our own private money, and so you don't
- 59:54Speaker 19: need to worry about any of that. Well, I and
- 59:57Speaker 19: some other people were looking at their budget and just
- 59:59Speaker 19: figuring I don't know how that worked, because the private
- 1:00:03Speaker 19: tax dollars donated from theme parks and hotels account for
- 1:00:06Speaker 19: about three million dollars of their one hundred and five
- 1:00:09Speaker 19: million dollars, and I think I think it should be
- 1:00:11Speaker 19: a boatload. I think, if this agency is doing a
- 1:00:15Speaker 19: great bang up job for putting people in hotels and
- 1:00:19Speaker 19: people and theme parks, I mean, they're the companies who
- 1:00:22Speaker 19: are benefiting for it, I think it should be like
- 1:00:23Speaker 19: a one to one ratio. But even if you don't,
- 1:00:25Speaker 19: I couldn't figure out how three million dollars was covering
- 1:00:28Speaker 19: every single questionable expense every time we had it. Well,
- 1:00:31Speaker 19: the auditors got in there, and this is an audit
- 1:00:33Speaker 19: that only happens like once a decade basically, and they
- 1:00:36Speaker 19: got in and they said there's some bs in here.
- 1:00:38Speaker 19: And among the things they found was they were calling
- 1:00:41Speaker 19: private money public money.
- 1:00:43Speaker 9: Excuse me, vice versa.
- 1:00:44Speaker 19: They were calling public money private money, and that's a
- 1:00:46Speaker 19: big accounting point.
- 1:00:47Speaker 3: And no receipts. I mean, it's the thing is that
- 1:00:49Speaker 3: you show us. I mean, I think you've been saying
- 1:00:51Speaker 3: the column basically. You know I'm paraphrasing, but you know, hey,
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: if this is the case, just show us, and then
- 1:00:55Speaker 3: you know we will at least have a record of
- 1:00:56Speaker 3: it for sure. I mean, one hundred and three thousand
- 1:00:59Speaker 3: dollars for somebody who were tronment party.
- 1:01:01Speaker 19: Yeah, yeah, that was another There was twenty was it
- 1:01:03Speaker 19: twenty or forty thousand dollars for a one night party
- 1:01:06Speaker 19: up in New York that the comptroller flagged. And it
- 1:01:09Speaker 19: was it was like every time something got flagged, they
- 1:01:11Speaker 19: went private money, private money. And he said, well, well
- 1:01:14Speaker 19: they looked at one year and they found I think
- 1:01:16Speaker 19: it was about three and a half million dollars worth
- 1:01:18Speaker 19: of what visitor Lander was saying private money, and they went,
- 1:01:21Speaker 19: that's not private money. For instance, they would stay like
- 1:01:24Speaker 19: take some money that was tax dollars and invested in
- 1:01:27Speaker 19: something and it would get returns and they'd call it
- 1:01:28Speaker 19: private money, and they'd say, that's that's not private money.
- 1:01:31Speaker 19: You know, money, that's that's yielded with tax with public
- 1:01:34Speaker 19: money is still public money, and you shouldn't be scared
- 1:01:36Speaker 19: to account for all that, in my estimation, and that's
- 1:01:39Speaker 19: what the comptroller said. And finally, after years of you know,
- 1:01:43Speaker 19: most elected officials cowtowing to tourism, there are a number
- 1:01:46Speaker 19: of county commissioners who are saying it's time to crack down.
- 1:01:49Speaker 19: I think they should cut back on the budget in general,
- 1:01:51Speaker 19: but they're talking about seriously cracking it.
- 1:01:53Speaker 3: And not to mention, I think I can't remember if
- 1:01:55Speaker 3: you mentioned it in this story, but I know we
- 1:01:56Speaker 3: you and I have talked about this before. Is just
- 1:01:58Speaker 3: how how kind of odd it is that visit Orlando
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: is basically a subsidy for theme parks to get free
- 1:02:04Speaker 3: advertising for their businesses. I mean, they're making billions of dollars,
- 1:02:08Speaker 3: yet the taxpayers here in Central Florida and the tourists
- 1:02:11Speaker 3: that come in are paying for them to advertise their companies.
- 1:02:15Speaker 3: And I've said it for years. What are they gonna do?
- 1:02:17Speaker 20: Leave?
- 1:02:18Speaker 3: I mean, you're not gonna go build another Disney somewhere else.
- 1:02:20Speaker 3: Just you know, you don't have to play hardball per se,
- 1:02:22Speaker 3: but Jesus make it fair.
- 1:02:23Speaker 19: You know, well, that's exactly right. And you know there
- 1:02:27Speaker 19: was a story just last week, I think this week.
- 1:02:29Speaker 9: Last week they said.
- 1:02:30Speaker 19: Something like Central Florida is tourism numbers surged because of
- 1:02:33Speaker 19: Epic Universe.
- 1:02:35Speaker 9: Yeah, that's why tourism surges.
- 1:02:37Speaker 19: Because Universal opens a new theme park, because Disney does
- 1:02:40Speaker 19: a new Avatar World, because Royal Caribbean puts a new
- 1:02:44Speaker 19: ship at Port Canaveral. It's not because of the tourism campaign.
- 1:02:49Speaker 19: But even if it is, even if marketing, and I
- 1:02:51Speaker 19: think you can argue that marketing can be a good idea.
- 1:02:54Speaker 19: Every other industry pays for their own marketing.
- 1:02:56Speaker 3: I was about to say it, if I had a
- 1:02:58Speaker 3: company out there, I'd love to be I've been fun
- 1:03:00Speaker 3: Spot would love to tap into that one hundred and
- 1:03:01Speaker 3: five million dollars.
- 1:03:04Speaker 9: Probably doesn't tap into it. That's the wrong, okay, But.
- 1:03:07Speaker 3: But I mean, if any bid some bakery that you
- 1:03:09Speaker 3: may have, I'd love to get ten thousand dollars a
- 1:03:12Speaker 3: month to be able to promote my bakery or orando
- 1:03:15Speaker 3: business that we're supposed to be supporting.
- 1:03:17Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:03:17Speaker 19: When a when a car dealer wants to bring in customers,
- 1:03:20Speaker 19: sure car dealer reaches into his own wallet. If a
- 1:03:22Speaker 19: law firm wants new customers, reaches into his own wallet.
- 1:03:25Speaker 19: You know, John Morgan and Dan Newlan are on your
- 1:03:28Speaker 19: radio station all the time.
- 1:03:30Speaker 9: But with this one.
- 1:03:31Speaker 19: Industry, it's subsidized through hotel tax dollars and uh and
- 1:03:35Speaker 19: and in other places, those hotel tax dollars actually pay
- 1:03:39Speaker 19: for the services that that that tourists, the strains they
- 1:03:42Speaker 19: put on our commat right. You know, we've talked about
- 1:03:44Speaker 19: the transit, you know, the buses. We've talked about housing.
- 1:03:48Speaker 19: But man, one of the things that I think gets
- 1:03:50Speaker 19: overlooked is cops.
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: Uh.
- 1:03:52Speaker 19: Tourists place a big demand on cops, sometimes because they
- 1:03:56Speaker 19: need help and sometimes because they get their drunk asses arrested.
- 1:04:00Speaker 19: I mean, I mean there's a big cost. I mean,
- 1:04:02Speaker 19: as the head of the Christian Service Center always says,
- 1:04:05Speaker 19: if you've met a tourist that came to Orlando for
- 1:04:07Speaker 19: three days and didn't flush his toilet, in other words,
- 1:04:10Speaker 19: use our water, I'd like to.
- 1:04:12Speaker 3: Meet him, or drive the roads or or any of
- 1:04:14Speaker 3: that stuff. And Uh, it's so funny this whole paragraph
- 1:04:17Speaker 3: that dedicated to this firm, the Razorfish Firm.
- 1:04:20Speaker 19: Oh yeah, yeah, So there's a and that's another thing
- 1:04:23Speaker 19: that has long bothered me. Some of them, and I
- 1:04:26Speaker 19: would think bothers, other CEOs, I would think they would
- 1:04:29Speaker 19: start to speak up. Some of the biggest checks and
- 1:04:32Speaker 19: contracts they have are for companies that aren't based anywhere
- 1:04:35Speaker 19: in Florida. They're based in New York. I think there
- 1:04:37Speaker 19: was one based in Wisconsin. We may love Wisconsin, but uh,
- 1:04:41Speaker 19: but they're based And if I was trying to I
- 1:04:43Speaker 19: would want you're telling me there's no creative agency, there's
- 1:04:45Speaker 19: no farm that can come up with an ad campaign.
- 1:04:47Speaker 8: And then the.
- 1:04:48Speaker 3: Interesting thing is that we're not talking about small dollars here.
- 1:04:51Speaker 3: And this is uh, this is right from your column
- 1:04:54Speaker 3: and says the comptrollers. Check registry shows that Visit Orlando
- 1:04:57Speaker 3: has cut monthly checks this year ranging from one hundred
- 1:05:01Speaker 3: and seventy two thousand to one point seventy five million
- 1:05:05Speaker 3: to a New York based headquartered firm called Razorfish, which
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: I guess is basically an advertising firm that comes up
- 1:05:12Speaker 3: with concepts and ideas at which they did this thing
- 1:05:15Speaker 3: called Orlando's. But the fact is exactly what you say,
- 1:05:18Speaker 3: you're telling me in all of Orlando and all of
- 1:05:20Speaker 3: Florida from Miami to Orlando to Tampa, that we couldn't
- 1:05:24Speaker 3: find a creative firm that could do that work and
- 1:05:27Speaker 3: keep that money in house.
- 1:05:28Speaker 19: Like you get, the base rate that I see this
- 1:05:31Speaker 19: firm getting from looking through two years of check registries
- 1:05:34Speaker 19: is two hundred and seventy thousand dollars a month.
- 1:05:36Speaker 3: That's bananas.
- 1:05:37Speaker 19: And I've seen monthly payments as high as one point
- 1:05:40Speaker 19: seven and two million dollars another nine hundred thousand were
- 1:05:43Speaker 19: In other words, we're talking real money here. But there's
- 1:05:46Speaker 19: it's always just viewed as this this agency's.
- 1:05:49Speaker 9: Been viewed as untouchable.
- 1:05:50Speaker 19: But I think one of the other things that really
- 1:05:53Speaker 19: started to rub some of the county commissioners the wrong way,
- 1:05:55Speaker 19: and God bless them for it, was Visit Orlando was
- 1:05:58Speaker 19: spending money on lobbying, basically lobbying for their own agency,
- 1:06:02Speaker 19: saying we deserve more money. That's you think about how
- 1:06:05Speaker 19: meta and how nuts that is for taxpayers to give
- 1:06:10Speaker 19: money to an agency to lobby for.
- 1:06:12Speaker 9: More tax dollars. Oh yeah, that's everything that's wrong with.
- 1:06:15Speaker 3: Government, right right, right right? That is a core bad value.
- 1:06:20Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:06:21Speaker 3: And by the way, the other the other.
- 1:06:22Speaker 19: They stay focused on the mission. I think they need
- 1:06:24Speaker 19: to have their private interests donating more. I think I
- 1:06:27Speaker 19: mean Disney. They do things like putting Miny Mouse's face
- 1:06:31Speaker 19: on a bus in Times Square. There's one company that's
- 1:06:34Speaker 19: benefiting from something like that, that's Disney, and Disney should
- 1:06:38Speaker 19: probably be the one paying for it in min mind.
- 1:06:41Speaker 19: So anyway, the comptroller, his name is Phil Diamond. He
- 1:06:44Speaker 19: seems to be taking this real serious. And to give
- 1:06:46Speaker 19: a shout out to two of the commissioners, Maira Uribe
- 1:06:49Speaker 19: and Kelly Simrad. They put out a long memo and
- 1:06:51Speaker 19: they sound like they're not going to be compromising.
- 1:06:53Speaker 9: This is all going to come to a head in
- 1:06:55Speaker 9: a few weeks.
- 1:06:55Speaker 3: And not to mention some of the other incitious stuff
- 1:06:57Speaker 3: that happens, and this happens in Florida from our own
- 1:07:01Speaker 3: government to agencies of this nature. Are these no big contracts?
- 1:07:05Speaker 16: Man?
- 1:07:05Speaker 3: That is that is like, that's such shaky business when
- 1:07:08Speaker 3: you just you know, you you have a massive contract,
- 1:07:10Speaker 3: maybe a ten million dollar contract for a service or
- 1:07:12Speaker 3: a product, and you don't even bid it out, and
- 1:07:14Speaker 3: of course it winds up into some brother in law's company.
- 1:07:17Speaker 3: It's just it's so sketch Alligator.
- 1:07:20Speaker 9: Yeah know that you're you're both right.
- 1:07:22Speaker 19: And I got to tell you if I I mean
- 1:07:24Speaker 19: trends in government EBB and flow, and if I had
- 1:07:27Speaker 19: to look at the most devious trend that I've seen
- 1:07:30Speaker 19: in Florida over the last two years, it is this
- 1:07:32Speaker 19: no big contract thing.
- 1:07:34Speaker 9: And if any and if your listeners aren't appreciating, I
- 1:07:37Speaker 9: think they would appreciate it.
- 1:07:38Speaker 19: I mean, if most people, if you need to get
- 1:07:40Speaker 19: a new roof, you don't just call one roofer and
- 1:07:44Speaker 19: ask them how much it's going to cost and then go,
- 1:07:46Speaker 19: here's all my money. You call three roofers and you
- 1:07:49Speaker 19: see what they're gonna do, and you check their experience,
- 1:07:51Speaker 19: you check what kind of track record they're doing. Anytime
- 1:07:53Speaker 19: you see a no bid contract, that should send up
- 1:07:55Speaker 19: a bright red flag.
- 1:07:57Speaker 9: Often we've seen, as.
- 1:07:58Speaker 19: Jack mentioned with Alligator, there's political cronies involved.
- 1:08:02Speaker 12: Man.
- 1:08:02Speaker 9: I saw one that steam my clams last week.
- 1:08:05Speaker 19: So the Florida is going after professors for their Charlie
- 1:08:09Speaker 19: kirk Kirk posts, Okay, fine, that's what they want to do.
- 1:08:12Speaker 9: But there's a contract to a law firm.
- 1:08:15Speaker 19: That is getting nine hundred and twenty five dollars an
- 1:08:20Speaker 19: hour an hour to go after the college professors who
- 1:08:24Speaker 19: are posting about Charlie Kirk.
- 1:08:26Speaker 3: And they're going to lose, right, I mean, there's our
- 1:08:28Speaker 3: First Amendment protected, well other than the if it's a
- 1:08:31Speaker 3: government agency, they would have to lose.
- 1:08:33Speaker 17: Right.
- 1:08:34Speaker 19: Well, it's murky, it's it's a little murky. Most of
- 1:08:39Speaker 19: their no bid long because I mean, you know what,
- 1:08:42Speaker 19: an employer has a right to fire someone for doing
- 1:08:45Speaker 19: something that's you know, that reflects poorly on the organization.
- 1:08:50Speaker 19: But I think that's a really wide swath and courts
- 1:08:53Speaker 19: are really reluctant to step on to say that that
- 1:08:57Speaker 19: it's obscene speech.
- 1:08:58Speaker 3: Ure yeah, almost or speak. Almost every one of these
- 1:09:01Speaker 3: cases I've read about is being challenged in court. I
- 1:09:03Speaker 3: mean like nobody's just taking going like nobody's just going, okay, well,
- 1:09:06Speaker 3: I guess I'll just screwed up. Nobody's doing that.
- 1:09:08Speaker 19: And most of it, and for the free speech ones
- 1:09:10Speaker 19: are the ones that keep losing, like the ones like
- 1:09:12Speaker 19: stop Woke, where they were trying to tell private companies
- 1:09:15Speaker 19: you can't have employee training lessons where you tell your
- 1:09:19Speaker 19: you know, uh employers, well you've never been a black person,
- 1:09:22Speaker 19: so you might need to uh consider what it's like
- 1:09:25Speaker 19: to walk in their shoes. Well, Ron DeSantis and James
- 1:09:27Speaker 19: Uthmeier may not may not like that as a lesson
- 1:09:30Speaker 19: to employers. But if I if I created ABC Incorporated Contracting,
- 1:09:34Speaker 19: and I'm spending my own money, and I want to
- 1:09:36Speaker 19: tell my own employers that because I think it's going
- 1:09:38Speaker 19: to help boost my you know, multicultural business.
- 1:09:41Speaker 9: That's my own business. And every court has said, who
- 1:09:44Speaker 9: the hell do you think you are?
- 1:09:45Speaker 19: Rh Yeah, yeah, who as a state to try to
- 1:09:48Speaker 19: tell businesses that they can't do what they want?
- 1:09:51Speaker 3: No different than they guy who rolled through his warehouse
- 1:09:52Speaker 3: a few years back and said, if you don't vote
- 1:09:54Speaker 3: for this particularly candidate, I don't. I'm not. I can't
- 1:09:56Speaker 3: guarantee your employment. I mean you you just can't do
- 1:09:58Speaker 3: stuff like that.
- 1:10:00Speaker 9: No, no, you can't.
- 1:10:00Speaker 19: And you know, speaking of which, before we go off,
- 1:10:02Speaker 19: have you all talked about you know, do you remember
- 1:10:05Speaker 19: one of the most famous people in town who did that.
- 1:10:07Speaker 19: They basically said, if you, uh, if you don't vote
- 1:10:09Speaker 19: for my guy, you're gonna lose your job or I'm
- 1:10:12Speaker 19: going to close down my company and leave town.
- 1:10:14Speaker 9: Isa resort.
- 1:10:15Speaker 19: Yeah there, yeah, bing bing bing all the way around
- 1:10:19Speaker 19: it's fascinating. Did you see that that Broadway musical starring
- 1:10:22Speaker 19: Kristin Chinelworth is on Broadway?
- 1:10:24Speaker 9: Now?
- 1:10:25Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, Savannah and uh Jackie actually just came back
- 1:10:28Speaker 3: from New York. I think either yesterday or the day before, because.
- 1:10:32Speaker 9: Savannah to admit, I'm curious to see it.
- 1:10:34Speaker 3: Savannah was up there. It was interesting because today Matthew
- 1:10:37Speaker 3: palm uh did a review of it and the review was, look,
- 1:10:41Speaker 3: they made a Broadway They made a Broadway show about
- 1:10:45Speaker 3: Jackie Siegel. That was pretty much the thing. I mean,
- 1:10:47Speaker 3: nothing was written about it. Nothing. He just said that
- 1:10:49Speaker 3: it was that it existed.
- 1:10:51Speaker 19: He said, there's some people that have given it surprisingly
- 1:10:53Speaker 19: good reviews, and a whole lot of people have been
- 1:10:56Speaker 19: like WTL, well.
- 1:11:00Speaker 3: God bless her. I guess always good seeing you, Scott.
- 1:11:02Speaker 3: We're so late. You do this to us every single time.
- 1:11:04Speaker 3: Scott Scott, Scott, Scott.
- 1:11:06Speaker 9: Scott's minutes from next week?
- 1:11:07Speaker 3: All right, No, I will not do that. Good laugh
- 1:11:09Speaker 3: for Scott. There you go, yay see you buddy. I
- 1:11:13Speaker 3: was always you got man all right for our seven
- 1:11:15Speaker 3: nine six four one text us seven seven zero three one,
- 1:11:18Speaker 3: got a few minutes left for your fork, like keyword.

- 1:11:22Speaker 3: Radio dot FM and send that away for your chance
- 1:11:24Speaker 3: at one thousand dollars back in one sec with more
- 1:11:26Speaker 3: of The Jim Colbert Show.
- 1:11:27Speaker 20: Stay put, good afternoon, The Jim Colbot Show. Of course,
- 1:11:42Speaker 20: this Prince of the Islands. We live comfortable, boy, we are.
- 1:11:45Speaker 20: But Jimmy, you are in Florida and you're already putting
- 1:11:49Speaker 20: on the heat.
- 1:11:50Speaker 4: Come out from the Islands.
- 1:11:56Speaker 9: I don't even know my heat.
- 1:11:57Speaker 3: Worse on the that's a branu but I don't know
- 1:12:01Speaker 3: if they hear it works.

- 1:12:05Speaker 3: Never put the.
- 1:12:08Speaker 9: Never.
- 1:12:08Speaker 3: He just can't do it.
- 1:12:09Speaker 7: Now wait a second. He took a second shot at it.
- 1:12:12Speaker 7: You want to hear Yeah, sure, here we go.

- 1:12:20Speaker 20: Of course, Jimmy, you're putting the sc heat on in

- 1:12:40Speaker 3: I've been here.
- 1:12:41Speaker 16: Okay, but.
- 1:12:43Speaker 3: Against it.
- 1:12:43Speaker 16: He can't do it.
- 1:12:45Speaker 3: He just can't do it. A are welcome back up, Jim,
- 1:12:48Speaker 3: there's dead Hello jack us here as well. We're so
- 1:12:50Speaker 3: late already for being late. We gotta go already. But
- 1:12:53Speaker 3: I did want to cover this real quick before we
- 1:12:54Speaker 3: get to the top of the hour, because I do
- 1:12:55Speaker 3: have an interesting topic at five o'clock to talk about
- 1:12:58Speaker 3: regarding the White House, which I did not know by
- 1:12:59Speaker 3: the wait. I thought this would be standard issue equipment,
- 1:13:02Speaker 3: but it is not. I can't believe that three Remember
- 1:13:05Speaker 3: we said that Bob Ross they were gonna start selling
- 1:13:08Speaker 3: some of his paintings to start funding some of the
- 1:13:11Speaker 3: other stuff that's going on there at PBS. Yeah, absolutely,
- 1:13:14Speaker 3: they had the very first auction. Did you see any
- 1:13:16Speaker 3: of the numbers? I did not.
- 1:13:17Speaker 4: Yeah, did you see the number just briefly?
- 1:13:20Speaker 3: Okay, I didn't know. If you saw the number, I
- 1:13:22Speaker 3: know you saw the story. Yeah, three paintings fetched a
- 1:13:25Speaker 3: total of They still have twenty seven to auction off.
- 1:13:29Speaker 3: So this is a real good look for BBS. Okay,
- 1:13:31Speaker 3: I'll say three hundred thousand dollars not bad. Four fifty
- 1:13:36Speaker 3: six hundred thousand dollars why for all three is what
- 1:13:41Speaker 3: they went for. So we don't know if they will.
- 1:13:43Speaker 7: Were that was that the same painting, because I know
- 1:13:46Speaker 7: he did three or that's three separate paintings. No, it's
- 1:13:48Speaker 7: three separate paintings, Okay, Like one of them got three
- 1:13:51Speaker 7: hundred eighteen thousand, one of them got you know, two
- 1:13:53Speaker 7: twenty nine. So they were all separated up by maybe
- 1:13:55Speaker 7: what the subject was or anything. But yes, six hundred total.
- 1:13:59Speaker 7: I remember like for the show, he would do three
- 1:14:01Speaker 7: of the same painting. I guess, like one test, then
- 1:14:04Speaker 7: one for the station.
- 1:14:06Speaker 3: Right, yeah, and then something yeah, yeah, yeah. The joy
- 1:14:08Speaker 3: painting went for three eighteen to a bitter on the phone.
- 1:14:12Speaker 3: Let's see another painting done on a nineteen ninety three episode,
- 1:14:15Speaker 3: lush green landscape called Home in the Valley went for
- 1:14:18Speaker 3: two hundred and twenty nine, and a third called clip
- 1:14:20Speaker 3: Side sold for one hundred and fourteen, eight hundred dollars.
- 1:14:23Speaker 3: And like I said, they saw twenty seven of these
- 1:14:25Speaker 3: talk show. That's great. That is I got so much
- 1:14:27Speaker 3: stuff at my house. I wish I could say, no joke.
- 1:14:31Speaker 3: I every time I've done the garage shell at the end,
- 1:14:33Speaker 3: I've always I'm never doing this again. We're just gonna
- 1:14:36Speaker 3: donate it.
- 1:14:37Speaker 7: That everything, and then I have this pile of stuff
- 1:14:40Speaker 7: and it's like, oh, I could sell it on like
- 1:14:42Speaker 7: eBay or marketplace.
- 1:14:44Speaker 3: It's like I just can't motivated myself to do it.
- 1:14:46Speaker 21: Yeah.
- 1:14:46Speaker 3: Yeah, it's stuff because you don't see the big number
- 1:14:48Speaker 3: at the end of No. I got a friend who's
- 1:14:50Speaker 3: his girlfriend, wife, fiance, whatever, does this and it just
- 1:14:53Speaker 3: seems so exhausting to buy a you know, buy a
- 1:14:55Speaker 3: lot of something and go through it one piece of
- 1:14:57Speaker 3: time trying to sell it online because some of the
- 1:14:59Speaker 3: stuff you'll for months a year. Some of them you'll
- 1:15:01Speaker 3: never sell, you.
- 1:15:02Speaker 7: Know, if someone I'll pay someone to do it like
- 1:15:05Speaker 7: they get in percentage.
- 1:15:07Speaker 3: Yeah, that's going to really make you loaded there. Well,
- 1:15:10Speaker 3: it's also it's about getting rid of stuff.
- 1:15:12Speaker 16: Yeah.
- 1:15:12Speaker 3: Well today I just found out that the White House
- 1:15:15Speaker 3: doesn't have one of these, and I kind of can't
- 1:15:18Speaker 3: believe it. I'll tell you what it is next.
- 1:15:23Speaker 4: Hey, how's it Ohano in this homp day yep.
- 1:15:28Speaker 2: I can't give any more five thumbs up for a
- 1:15:31Speaker 2: Kadian National Park than I can.
- 1:15:33Speaker 19: I think everybody, if they can once in their life,
- 1:15:36Speaker 19: they should visit this place.
- 1:15:37Speaker 21: It's absolutely amazing.
- 1:15:40Speaker 2: Yeah, like Bretta Scott said, I can Mount Dessert Island.
- 1:15:43Speaker 11: It's not a rough hike.
- 1:15:46Speaker 6: Really has something to offer everyone, but it's absolutely beautiful.
- 1:15:50Speaker 11: Check them out.
- 1:15:52Speaker 10: Hello Breda happy he daycover the company. It's Corcreek and Mike.
- 1:15:56Speaker 10: Why I'm sitting here stopping go on? I seventy five
- 1:16:00Speaker 10: listening to the show and I heard a guy Leavey
- 1:16:03Speaker 10: talk back about Madison, Wisconsin. Fun fact about Madison, Wisconsin.
- 1:16:09Speaker 10: I have been trespassed from that university, also Perdue University
- 1:16:14Speaker 10: and Northern Illinois University. Back in the day when I
- 1:16:17Speaker 10: was a younger, lad did some things what it's supposed
- 1:16:21Speaker 10: to be doing.
- 1:16:22Speaker 7: Got kicked out, didn't He also tell us us we
- 1:16:24Speaker 7: got kicked out of a froggers.
- 1:16:26Speaker 3: Yeah, because he's right. He dipped a testicle into a
- 1:16:28Speaker 3: shot glass. Yeah, that was sitting on a table. Yeah,
- 1:16:32Speaker 3: a double shot. Last Maybe we should invite him in
- 1:16:34Speaker 3: to tell his life story a little bit.
- 1:16:36Speaker 4: His shot glass.
- 1:16:37Speaker 3: I don't know whose it was. I mean, but it
- 1:16:39Speaker 3: doesn't matter. If you pull your you know, your package
- 1:16:42Speaker 3: outs are dipping it into drinks in the general public,
- 1:16:45Speaker 3: it's going to be bad. I don't know, what do
- 1:16:49Speaker 3: you mean? You don't know any maybe we need security.
- 1:16:53Speaker 3: All right, you're five o'clock. He were to check the HGCK,
- 1:16:56Speaker 3: go to real radio dot FM and send it on
- 1:16:57Speaker 3: for your chance in a thousands of bucks. Check is
- 1:16:59Speaker 3: the work? Get that money, Jim, there's deb Hello, Jack
- 1:17:03Speaker 3: is here as well?
- 1:17:03Speaker 9: What's going on?
- 1:17:06Speaker 3: I don't know who does? All right? So obviously you
- 1:17:16Speaker 3: can't avoid politics on the news cycle. This is not
- 1:17:20Speaker 3: like you. This is not a political story. It is
- 1:17:22Speaker 3: interesting about the White House though, because I thought, for sure,
- 1:17:25Speaker 3: considering how many others, how many other organizations, facilities, touring shows,
- 1:17:33Speaker 3: bands have this and the White House doesn't. As a
- 1:17:37Speaker 3: matter of fact, the White House actually was kind of
- 1:17:40Speaker 3: fighting this a little bit in certain circumstances. A family bathroom. No,
- 1:17:47Speaker 3: it's really good guests though. It's a service provided to
- 1:17:51Speaker 3: the White House for a group of people, and they
- 1:17:55Speaker 3: don't have one on staff, a defibrillator. And I can't
- 1:17:58Speaker 3: believe it, because when you can sit catering people who
- 1:18:01Speaker 3: have you know, people as well, I say, people institutions
- 1:18:06Speaker 3: have one of these so that when they, you know,
- 1:18:08Speaker 3: when they make statements, you know, everybody can get the
- 1:18:11Speaker 3: picture podium translator close asl that's the answer right there.
- 1:18:19Speaker 3: Oh my goodness, Yeah, dude, US appeals court order to
- 1:18:23Speaker 3: use American Sign language interpreters at the White House briefings.
- 1:18:26Speaker 3: And basically what's happening is the Department of Justice is
- 1:18:29Speaker 3: actually appealing this. It's a federal judge's order requiring the
- 1:18:33Speaker 3: White House to immediately begin providing American Sign Language interpretation
- 1:18:38Speaker 3: at its press briefings when President Trump or Secretary Caroline
- 1:18:42Speaker 3: Levitt is speaking. And what they wanted to do. The
- 1:18:45Speaker 3: White House only wanted to provide it during certain instances.
- 1:18:48Speaker 3: They didn't want to provide it during Q and a's
- 1:18:51Speaker 3: with the President, and no you can. I don't really
- 1:18:53Speaker 3: want to make this a political thing. I don't understand
- 1:18:55Speaker 3: how the White House doesn't have one. Touring bands have one. Yeah,
- 1:18:59Speaker 3: like you can't go see a band, you can't do
- 1:19:01Speaker 3: anything without on the right hand side, some very animated
- 1:19:05Speaker 3: person who winds up stealing the show. By the way,
- 1:19:07Speaker 3: is doing the entire show in asl.
- 1:19:09Speaker 7: Any governor emergency you know, a speech you know for
- 1:19:16Speaker 7: hurricanes and yeah, yeah, however they have to make those announcements,
- 1:19:20Speaker 7: those press conferences.
- 1:19:21Speaker 3: Yeah, they always have someone doing SILI. It would seem
- 1:19:24Speaker 3: to me that the what I guess I couldn't believe
- 1:19:27Speaker 3: is that the United States governments, the White House does
- 1:19:30Speaker 3: not have an on staff ASL interpreter. I can't believe that.
- 1:19:36Speaker 3: That seems like a I mean, like again, you know,
- 1:19:38Speaker 3: we have laws in the US that and we've talked
- 1:19:41Speaker 3: about this before with attorneys who go around to make
- 1:19:43Speaker 3: sure your website is compliant to the ADA, the American
- 1:19:48Speaker 3: Disabilities Acted.
- 1:19:49Speaker 4: If you don't give them an idea of the next
- 1:19:52Speaker 4: website to go.
- 1:19:52Speaker 3: After, and if you don't, you get caught up in it,
- 1:19:54Speaker 3: right you, They actually sue you. You have to wind
- 1:19:57Speaker 3: up paying like thirty five hundred and five thousand dollars
- 1:19:59Speaker 3: and you have to make your website compliant and get
- 1:20:02Speaker 3: it reinspected to make sure that it is compliant. But
- 1:20:05Speaker 3: yet the White House doesn't have an ASL interpreter. And
- 1:20:07Speaker 3: this doesn't matter who. By the way, this has nothing
- 1:20:10Speaker 3: to do with the presidency. This could have been I mean,
- 1:20:12Speaker 3: I can't believe Biden had had one, Obama didn't have one.
- 1:20:14Speaker 3: Nobody had one. They don't have an on staff ASL
- 1:20:19Speaker 3: interpreter for the White House. I can't believe it.
- 1:20:22Speaker 4: I'm shocked as well, yeah, it doesn't make.
- 1:20:23Speaker 3: Any sense because when you hire them, and it says here,
- 1:20:25Speaker 3: one of the reasons they that they can't provide it
- 1:20:27Speaker 3: all the time is is because they require a twenty
- 1:20:29Speaker 3: four hour notice. I'm like, well, that's why you should
- 1:20:31Speaker 3: have one on staff, Like, how much could it possibly cost,
- 1:20:34Speaker 3: considering our budget to be able to communicate with a
- 1:20:37Speaker 3: large portion of constituents in the US who just can't hear.
- 1:20:42Speaker 5: Well, it's crazy that local eeocs would have to have them, right,
- 1:20:46Speaker 5: it says.
- 1:20:47Speaker 3: The Department of Justice is appealing at Federal George A
- 1:20:49Speaker 3: Judge's order requiring the White House to immediately prevent begin
- 1:20:53Speaker 3: providing American Sign Language interpretation of its press briefings when
- 1:20:57Speaker 3: President Trump or Press Secretary can Mariline Levitt or speaking,
- 1:21:02Speaker 3: it says here, that says in the court. Finally, on Friday,
- 1:21:06Speaker 3: responding to the US District Judge Amir Ali's ruling, the
- 1:21:09Speaker 3: Justice Department requested clarification on which type of events should
- 1:21:13Speaker 3: have ASL interpretation available. The DOJ says it believes the
- 1:21:17Speaker 3: services should be limited to regularly scheduled briefings and not
- 1:21:21Speaker 3: other events. But the President takes questions from the press,
- 1:21:23Speaker 3: And I don't understand that what makes that information any
- 1:21:27Speaker 3: less viable to that community than the one before? You
- 1:21:30Speaker 3: see what I'm saying.
- 1:21:31Speaker 5: Yeah, but you'd have to ask the DOJ for their
- 1:21:33Speaker 5: reasoning behind that, because it doesn't make sense. Again, local municipalities,
- 1:21:37Speaker 5: smaller cities have to have somebody on staff to be
- 1:21:42Speaker 5: able to pass along, you know, evacuation routes where you
- 1:21:46Speaker 5: can get sandbags when your power is going to be restored. Y. Yeah,
- 1:21:49Speaker 5: it seems crazy that the head office would be exempt
- 1:21:52Speaker 5: from that.
- 1:21:53Speaker 3: It says here that DJ's judge's order should not apply
- 1:21:56Speaker 3: to remarks made in a broad set of scenarios. Quote,
- 1:22:00Speaker 3: the White House does not understand press briefings to encompass
- 1:22:03Speaker 3: events with other purposes, such as a ceremony or a
- 1:22:07Speaker 3: speech at which the President may choose to take questions
- 1:22:10Speaker 3: from the press. But I guess I don't understand why
- 1:22:14Speaker 3: these circumstance matters at all. If the press shouldn't if
- 1:22:18Speaker 3: the President, or to be honest, any of the cabinet
- 1:22:21Speaker 3: members or the Press Secretary are speaking. And it's important
- 1:22:25Speaker 3: to tax paying Americans, Every single tax paying American, which
- 1:22:29Speaker 3: would include our deaf community, should be able to get
- 1:22:32Speaker 3: that message should be able to you know, hear that
- 1:22:35Speaker 3: said now, of course they could read it down the road. Understood,
- 1:22:38Speaker 3: But if you're watching the press briefing in the right there,
- 1:22:40Speaker 3: it's just inconceivable that the United States of America doesn't
- 1:22:44Speaker 3: have an ASL interpreter at the highest possible level. How
- 1:22:47Speaker 3: much does real time closed captioning though, negate the need? Yeah,
- 1:22:53Speaker 3: I don't know if they even do that do that?
- 1:22:54Speaker 3: I mean, I guess it's your device, right, you can
- 1:22:56Speaker 3: choose it or not. Yeah, I don't know, because I
- 1:22:59Speaker 3: mean then that it requires the person to have a
- 1:23:02Speaker 3: television that does that. Sure, And maybe they don't have that.
- 1:23:05Speaker 3: Maybe they don't get their information that way, maybe it
- 1:23:07Speaker 3: comes to their phone, they only get it through iPads
- 1:23:09Speaker 3: or whatever. I don't know.
- 1:23:13Speaker 4: I can't believe that no administration has had.
- 1:23:17Speaker 3: Look up Jack, if you don't mind, how much does
- 1:23:18Speaker 3: an ASL interpreter make a year? I mean, I mean
- 1:23:22Speaker 3: a good one. I mean I'm talking about I don't know,
- 1:23:24Speaker 3: ten years in the business. I don't know that it matters.
- 1:23:27Speaker 3: I mean, I guess if you're ASL in the business
- 1:23:30Speaker 3: two years, how does it change if you're in their
- 1:23:32Speaker 3: ten years. The language doesn't change. I don't believe it varies.
- 1:23:36Speaker 7: And the averages between sixty one to seventy nine thousand
- 1:23:40Speaker 7: per year, or about thirty four to thirty eight bucks.
- 1:23:43Speaker 3: An hour, That would be by far the lowest paid
- 1:23:45Speaker 3: people in that room, and they can easily pull that off.
- 1:23:49Speaker 3: Everybody in that government makes more than that. Entry level
- 1:23:52Speaker 3: positions may start around thirty two k top burners making
- 1:23:56Speaker 3: over one hundred and forty one. Yeah, it says the
- 1:23:59Speaker 3: White House Press. If things engage American people on important
- 1:24:01Speaker 3: issues affecting their daily lives, in recent months, wore the
- 1:24:04Speaker 3: economy in healthcare, and in recent years a global pandemic.
- 1:24:09Speaker 3: This is the judge saying this. The exclusion of deaf
- 1:24:11Speaker 3: Americans from that programming, in addition to likely violating the
- 1:24:14Speaker 3: Rehabilitation Act, is a clear and present harm that the
- 1:24:17Speaker 3: Court cannot meaningfully remedy after the fact. I just found
- 1:24:23Speaker 3: that amazing. I don't know why it hit me so
- 1:24:24Speaker 3: hard this morning that the US, the United States government
- 1:24:27Speaker 3: doesn't have an on staff asl interpreter. I just for
- 1:24:31Speaker 3: some reason, it be so weird.
- 1:24:32Speaker 7: Ironically, the only deaf college, it's Galadet University is in Washington, DC.
- 1:24:41Speaker 3: All right, four seven nine one six one four one
- 1:24:44Speaker 3: Again you can always text us at seven to seven
- 1:24:47Speaker 3: zero three one. A very interesting case out of North Carolina.
- 1:24:51Speaker 3: And I'm going to make a pitch on how this
- 1:24:53Speaker 3: should be everywhere in the US. But it's not yet.
- 1:24:56Speaker 3: I'll tell you what that is next.
- 1:25:06Speaker 2: Still to come, we find out what's in the good
- 1:25:13Speaker 2: Sauce with Ross Paget.
- 1:25:15Speaker 11: Today it's six on the Jim Colbert Show.
- 1:25:18Speaker 3: Hey, guys, not.
- 1:25:19Speaker 22: Sure we're going to cover this or when, but the
- 1:25:21Speaker 22: Arizona Senator just got sworn in today. Yeah, so she's
- 1:25:25Speaker 22: gonna be the tutor at eighteen signature. It looks like
- 1:25:29Speaker 22: the White House is running damage control and trying to
- 1:25:32Speaker 22: get people to pull their names.
- 1:25:36Speaker 3: Yeah, that is the story that And actually Caroline Levitt
- 1:25:39Speaker 3: just confirmed that the White House did have a meeting
- 1:25:41Speaker 3: with at least one person, Lauren Bobert Uh And the
- 1:25:45Speaker 3: rumor is that they're trying to convince her to pull
- 1:25:47Speaker 3: her name from signing the discharge discharge Geez Louise discharge
- 1:25:54Speaker 3: petition put forward by mo Conna and Thomas Massey. And
- 1:26:01Speaker 3: this is for the release of the Epstein. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:26:05Speaker 3: less yeah, I read on that today, though. I have
- 1:26:06Speaker 3: to tell you it's so funny because a lot of
- 1:26:08Speaker 3: a lot's been put into this signature. But I you know,
- 1:26:12Speaker 3: as I read today, it doesn't really matter. Really. What
- 1:26:15Speaker 3: they're trying to do is I don't think that any
- 1:26:17Speaker 3: belief there's not going to be this treasure trove that
- 1:26:20Speaker 3: like her signature doesn't open like a safe deposit box
- 1:26:24Speaker 3: and you know, images and video and audio recordings come
- 1:26:27Speaker 3: flying out. It's not going to be like that, basically,
- 1:26:29Speaker 3: because this has to also be approved by the Senate
- 1:26:32Speaker 3: and then it has to get the signature of the
- 1:26:34Speaker 3: President as well. So I think we kind of understand that,
- 1:26:37Speaker 3: you know, with Republican control of the Senate, and of
- 1:26:40Speaker 3: course the President's probably not going to sign this. But
- 1:26:42Speaker 3: what they're trying to do is they're trying to get
- 1:26:44Speaker 3: on the record people voting against the releasing of these
- 1:26:47Speaker 3: files so that they can basically say you are protecting
- 1:26:50Speaker 3: a pedophile. And now the two other email that came
- 1:26:53Speaker 3: out today, you know, throw even more wrenches in the machine.
- 1:26:56Speaker 3: I just watched Caroline Levitt's press conference trying to explain
- 1:26:59Speaker 3: away the email were Epstein sent years and years ago,
- 1:27:02Speaker 3: saying that Trump was the only dog that hasn't barked,
- 1:27:07Speaker 3: and also confirming that Trump knew what he was doing
- 1:27:10Speaker 3: and knew that Epstein was into the young girls and
- 1:27:13Speaker 3: knew what was happening, and that was almost alluded to
- 1:27:17Speaker 3: in the infamous birthday card. Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, And
- 1:27:21Speaker 3: again this is stuff released by the estate. There was
- 1:27:23Speaker 3: a twenty thousand more I guess pages or something released today.
- 1:27:26Speaker 3: Some of the emails weren't very flattering at all actually,
- 1:27:30Speaker 3: so we'll see how that goes. But yeah, I just
- 1:27:32Speaker 3: don't want people to get over just overly excited.
- 1:27:37Speaker 4: Yeah, that there's gonna be this spectation.
- 1:27:38Speaker 3: That there's gonna be a website that you're gonna be
- 1:27:40Speaker 3: able to flip through and see all these salacious photographs
- 1:27:42Speaker 3: and hear all this stuff. It's not gonna be like
- 1:27:43Speaker 3: that at all. Yeah, not now. Anyway, Welcome back to
- 1:27:48Speaker 3: the Jim Colbert Show, Real Radio one to four point one.
- 1:27:50Speaker 3: Check is your five o'clock keyword that's chgck. Slide over
- 1:27:54Speaker 3: to Real Radio Dot of fimins and then offer your
- 1:27:55Speaker 3: chance at a thousand bucks. I'm Jim, There's deb Hello.
- 1:27:58Speaker 3: Jack is here as well. So much warmer today. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:28:00Speaker 3: it is so much warmer today. What do you guys, degrees,
- 1:28:03Speaker 3: What do you guys think that let me see if
- 1:28:05Speaker 3: I get this story up here, what do you guys
- 1:28:06Speaker 3: think that the states of Hawaii, Illinois, Mississippi, New Mexico,
- 1:28:11Speaker 3: North Carolina, South Dakota, and Utah all have in common?
- 1:28:16Speaker 3: You're not gonna get it, okay, but I just wanted
- 1:28:20Speaker 3: to name the states. They have a thing called the
- 1:28:22Speaker 3: alienation of affection laws. Oh yeah, And I have to
- 1:28:27Speaker 3: tell you it's so funny. I actually didn't think it
- 1:28:30Speaker 3: was eight states. I only thought it was like two.
- 1:28:33Speaker 3: I thought it was North Carolina and like New Mexico
- 1:28:35Speaker 3: that had it. Now you have more to avoid. Now
- 1:28:38Speaker 3: there's more out there. And the reason why I bring
- 1:28:40Speaker 3: this story up, and if you don't know what it is,
- 1:28:42Speaker 3: I'll tell you right now. Right So, this is a
- 1:28:43Speaker 3: story out of North Carolina where a TikTok personality is
- 1:28:47Speaker 3: gonna have to pay one point seventy five million dollars
- 1:28:50Speaker 3: because under this alienation of affection law, a jury found
- 1:28:55Speaker 3: her liable for destroying a Durham, a Durham couple's marriage.
- 1:29:01Speaker 3: I guess the guy was her manager or something. She
- 1:29:03Speaker 3: started an affair, and basically the other wife sued the
- 1:29:08Speaker 3: husband or sued her for breaking up their marriage and
- 1:29:11Speaker 3: won one point seventy five million dollars. You mean the wife, yeah,
- 1:29:15Speaker 3: not the other wife. Yeah, the wife, right, yeah, I
- 1:29:19Speaker 3: said the lawsuit following the other woman. Yeah. The lawsuit,
- 1:29:22Speaker 3: filed in Durham County Court, accused Brene Cunard and an
- 1:29:26Speaker 3: influencer with nearly three million followers on TikTok and two
- 1:29:30Speaker 3: hundred and seventy four followers on seventy thousand followers on Instagram,
- 1:29:34Speaker 3: of seducing and having an affair with her manager, Tim Montogg.
- 1:29:39Speaker 3: She's received justice from losing her husband and the father
- 1:29:42Speaker 3: of her children. That was the attorney for her, said.
- 1:29:45Speaker 3: The jury found her libel for criminal conversation and alienation
- 1:29:49Speaker 3: of affection And this I have to tell you. Do
- 1:29:54Speaker 3: you like these laws?
- 1:29:55Speaker 4: By the way, I think it would I think it
- 1:29:57Speaker 4: would make adults maybe stopping.
- 1:30:00Speaker 3: I have to tell you, I read this story today
- 1:30:02Speaker 3: and I did not know that there were eight states.
- 1:30:03Speaker 3: I'm like, that's a federal law in my opinion, Like,
- 1:30:05Speaker 3: I think that's that's a situation where you know when
- 1:30:09Speaker 3: you talk to Ray Trendley, and you hear like divorce
- 1:30:11Speaker 3: scenarios and how things kind of break down and how
- 1:30:14Speaker 3: things happen. And you hear like, just you know how
- 1:30:18Speaker 3: gnarly it can become, you know, and there's no repercussions
- 1:30:22Speaker 3: for the person who caused the calamity other than you know,
- 1:30:26Speaker 3: they they are going to lose their marriage. But the
- 1:30:29Speaker 3: person who is the person in question, they you know,
- 1:30:31Speaker 3: he's just gonna walk away.
- 1:30:32Speaker 12: You know.
- 1:30:33Speaker 3: They don't have anything. And these stags can't do that, right, Like,
- 1:30:35Speaker 3: if I have an affair with somebody and I break
- 1:30:38Speaker 3: that marriage up, that man consume me for in one
- 1:30:43Speaker 3: of these states, consume me for doing that, and it
- 1:30:46Speaker 3: goes to a jury. A jury gets to decide whether
- 1:30:48Speaker 3: or not I have to pay a fee to this
- 1:30:50Speaker 3: guy for breaking his marriage up because I entered a
- 1:30:53Speaker 3: relationship with his wife knowing that she was married.
- 1:30:59Speaker 4: That's a lot of money to have to pay.
- 1:31:01Speaker 3: But TikTok pays good though. Yeah, so they got married. Yeah,
- 1:31:05Speaker 3: and they wound up getting married. Yes, Yeah, the coult
- 1:31:07Speaker 3: didn't wind up getting married. But it doesn't matter, right,
- 1:31:12Speaker 3: that doesn't matter, so says the court. Yeah, so says
- 1:31:15Speaker 3: the court, so says this law.
- 1:31:17Speaker 5: So now instead of having to pay alimony, he just
- 1:31:20Speaker 5: gets to paid a lot more.
- 1:31:21Speaker 3: Yeah. A Kira Montag, who brought the suit to the
- 1:31:24Speaker 3: civil court, married Tim on October twentieth of twenty eighteen,
- 1:31:28Speaker 3: claim the affair cost her mental anguish, damaged to her health,
- 1:31:31Speaker 3: and deprived her children of a two parent household. Canard
- 1:31:35Speaker 3: slammed the verdict, saying A Kira Montag knew her marriage
- 1:31:38Speaker 3: was over and allowed the affair.
- 1:31:40Speaker 4: Oh, those are fighting words.
- 1:31:42Speaker 3: She gave her consent, that's what she said.
- 1:31:45Speaker 14: She said.
- 1:31:45Speaker 3: It was only she said it was okay because she
- 1:31:47Speaker 3: knew her marriage was over and it was done. The
- 1:31:50Speaker 3: affair played out both in the manager's home, on canard
- 1:31:53Speaker 3: social media and all of this. He eventually left his
- 1:31:56Speaker 3: wife and actually went with the girl. He had the
- 1:31:59Speaker 3: affair with the TikTok person, and the TikTok person so
- 1:32:02Speaker 3: has to pay the one point seven five million and
- 1:32:05Speaker 3: then he has to pay I guess he still has
- 1:32:07Speaker 3: to pay like child support and alimony too. Well, this
- 1:32:12Speaker 3: is what you want. You You would have moved to
- 1:32:13Speaker 3: one of these states and hope somebody cheats on you.
- 1:32:15Speaker 4: Yeah, no doubt.
- 1:32:18Speaker 3: It says in previous North Carolina cases involving this alienation
- 1:32:21Speaker 3: of affection, plainists have received millions of dollars. In twenty eleven,
- 1:32:25Speaker 3: a woman named Kara was ordered to receive thirty million
- 1:32:28Speaker 3: dollars from Betty Devon. He owned a trucking company and cheated.
- 1:32:35Speaker 3: And it's the largest settlement of its kind in North
- 1:32:38Speaker 3: Carolina history. And actually this happened to an NFL player
- 1:32:41Speaker 3: as well. In twenty eighteen, NFL star Fletcher Cox was
- 1:32:45Speaker 3: sued by a North Carolina man easy deb named Joshuva Jeffords,
- 1:32:51Speaker 3: who claimed that the football player had an affair was wife.
- 1:32:54Speaker 3: So Fletcher Cox has an affair with a woman he's
- 1:32:57Speaker 3: she's married. The dude winds up suing Fletcher Cox for
- 1:33:01Speaker 3: let's see how much. It doesn't say. They settled out
- 1:33:04Speaker 3: of court and would have won the case obviously because
- 1:33:07Speaker 3: he settled. And then another one in twenty twenty one,
- 1:33:10Speaker 3: former State Senator Rick gunn senator lawsuit filed by Arthur
- 1:33:15Speaker 3: John's for three million dollars. Gun was accused of having
- 1:33:17Speaker 3: a long running affair with John's wife, who was Gun's
- 1:33:21Speaker 3: legislative assistant. Now and he has to pay I love
- 1:33:25Speaker 3: this law. By the way, I think it's great. I
- 1:33:27Speaker 3: think it is. I think it just it would make
- 1:33:29Speaker 3: you at least give that whole idea of rolling up
- 1:33:32Speaker 3: on somebody who's married a little more time to just
- 1:33:36Speaker 3: kind of let want to pause, Like if you knew,
- 1:33:38Speaker 3: for a fact, if you're at a bar and you
- 1:33:39Speaker 3: rolled up and a woman's got a wedding ring, and
- 1:33:41Speaker 3: you go to buy that beer or buy that drink
- 1:33:43Speaker 3: or make that move, you look at that wedding ring.
- 1:33:45Speaker 3: I'm like, nah, I'm good, call me when you're done.
- 1:33:48Speaker 4: What if she took off the wedding ring, you'd still
- 1:33:51Speaker 4: see the shadow.
- 1:33:52Speaker 3: Well, let's get like a true like a truth warrior.
- 1:33:57Speaker 7: Let's let's let's say the affair happens without the understanding
- 1:34:02Speaker 7: that the other person is mattering.
- 1:34:04Speaker 3: That's a good point, but I think you know you argue,
- 1:34:05Speaker 3: you're arguing this in front of a jury. Yeah, you
- 1:34:09Speaker 3: know if I'm making this argument, But that's the whole
- 1:34:10Speaker 3: Isn't that the same argument? Like, Anna know I didn't
- 1:34:12Speaker 3: know she was not of.
- 1:34:13Speaker 12: Age, right, right?
- 1:34:15Speaker 4: She looked eighteen?
- 1:34:16Speaker 3: Yeah, and that we know for a fact in Florida,
- 1:34:17Speaker 3: that doesn't matter a matter of fact in Florida, if
- 1:34:19Speaker 3: somebody shows you a fake ID that has them at
- 1:34:21Speaker 3: twenty years old and you do something and they're seventeen,
- 1:34:24Speaker 3: you're still done.
- 1:34:24Speaker 4: So they kind of like saying, I was following orders, right, right.
- 1:34:28Speaker 3: They Well, even if you have a fake ID that
- 1:34:30Speaker 3: says it and it's perfect, and you ask for the
- 1:34:32Speaker 3: fake ID and you look at it and go, yep,
- 1:34:34Speaker 3: says you're twenty one, let's get it, and you're not
- 1:34:36Speaker 3: twenty one, you're seventeen with a good fake ID, the
- 1:34:39Speaker 3: person who had sex with you is still in trouble
- 1:34:42Speaker 3: as if they knew the whole time. I guess maybe,
- 1:34:46Speaker 3: so this scenario would be exactly the same.
- 1:34:48Speaker 4: Yeah, makes sense, right, I mean I think it does.
- 1:34:54Speaker 3: I don't know what it takes to get this kind
- 1:34:56Speaker 3: of legislation through, but I mean eight states have it.
- 1:35:00Speaker 3: I mean Hawaii has it, Illinois, Mississippi, New Mexico, North Carolina,
- 1:35:04Speaker 3: South Dakota, Utah. And it's not really broken up by
- 1:35:06Speaker 3: geography either. You know those are that's all over the US. Yeah,
- 1:35:10Speaker 3: you know, that's in the South, that's in the Midwest,
- 1:35:12Speaker 3: that's in the Pacific Northwest, that's you know, not even
- 1:35:14Speaker 3: in the states. You know, it's not even in the
- 1:35:17Speaker 3: continental US and Hawaii, so I would think that you know,
- 1:35:20Speaker 3: that holds different political parties as well. New Mexico is
- 1:35:23Speaker 3: a purple state. North Carolina's red.
- 1:35:26Speaker 4: I don't believe New Mexico is purple anymore.
- 1:35:28Speaker 17: It was.
- 1:35:29Speaker 3: Yeah it is blue now or red? Is it really
- 1:35:32Speaker 3: New Mexico. Yeah, in Arizona.
- 1:35:37Speaker 4: I'm thinking of Arizona.
- 1:35:38Speaker 3: Yeah, New Mexico prod Governor. And it's a makeup. In
- 1:35:42Speaker 3: other words, it doesn't really have a political affiliation this law.
- 1:35:45Speaker 3: It has nothing to do with that. It just basically
- 1:35:47Speaker 3: it's in states that are red and blue and purple
- 1:35:49Speaker 3: for that matter, like and culturally.
- 1:35:52Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 1:35:52Speaker 3: I mean, I wonder what takes a state, what it
- 1:35:54Speaker 3: takes to get that on the ballot.
- 1:35:56Speaker 4: You should get it passed in Florida, that's an entry.
- 1:35:58Speaker 3: I mean, boy, I wonder if it's popular the gave
- 1:36:01Speaker 3: me obviously if it's only eight states, I mean, it
- 1:36:03Speaker 3: hasn't really are Maybe they just don't have a legislator
- 1:36:05Speaker 3: that's put it on the uh put it on the docket.
- 1:36:07Speaker 3: But I mean, I wonder how that would go over
- 1:36:09Speaker 3: in Florida. Would you vote for something like that? The
- 1:36:11Speaker 3: question is does it do you think it deters adultery?
- 1:36:17Speaker 3: If it was common knowledge that you like, Let's say,
- 1:36:21Speaker 3: let's say I think okay, so let's say I let's
- 1:36:24Speaker 3: use that again, because it's always fun to do. Chris
- 1:36:26Speaker 3: and Debora married. Yeah, yeah, right right. I tried to
- 1:36:30Speaker 3: start a relationship with deb She she hates this. That's
- 1:36:35Speaker 3: fine because I think he listens. And Chris, I love you, buddy,
- 1:36:38Speaker 3: but this is just what we have to do because
- 1:36:40Speaker 3: I can't do it with the Jack. Yeah, and uh,
- 1:36:42Speaker 3: and we have an affair and it causes you to leave.
- 1:36:45Speaker 4: Why don't I ever get to date Jack?
- 1:36:47Speaker 12: Oh?
- 1:36:48Speaker 3: Yeah, we do it with Jack. That's fine. No, No,
- 1:36:50Speaker 3: Jack is having an affair with Debt. That's what working.
- 1:36:52Speaker 3: Can't Jim and I have the affairs.
- 1:36:54Speaker 17: I don't.
- 1:36:54Speaker 5: I'm not having an affair with what everyone is already
- 1:36:56Speaker 5: assuming is happening. The way you talk to each other fighting,
- 1:37:01Speaker 5: let's do.
- 1:37:01Speaker 3: With Jack jacket. You and Jack get together and Jack
- 1:37:04Speaker 3: is throwing that lovely on you. He's throwing that love
- 1:37:07Speaker 3: you on yeah yeah, and he's taking you in some
- 1:37:10Speaker 3: really nice dates. I mean, you guys share coffee.
- 1:37:13Speaker 4: I bring a coupon. Next time he brings a coupon.
- 1:37:17Speaker 3: Yeah, you gotta share a dollar General bean burrito.
- 1:37:20Speaker 5: Oh, I make sure he never misses his dollar a
- 1:37:22Speaker 5: day Saturday coupon.
- 1:37:24Speaker 4: Thank you, You're welcome.
- 1:37:25Speaker 3: That's relationship we have on the show right now. She
- 1:37:27Speaker 3: knows me, So Jack has Jack has an affair with you?
- 1:37:31Speaker 11: Uh?
- 1:37:31Speaker 3: Do you think that that still happens if he knows
- 1:37:35Speaker 3: in the back of his head, Jack being a smart
- 1:37:36Speaker 3: cat understanding the laws that bind us here. If Jack
- 1:37:41Speaker 3: thinks secondly about doing that, knowing that Chris could turn
- 1:37:44Speaker 3: around and sue him, and on top of that, he
- 1:37:46Speaker 3: would lose his relationship, which would mean alimony and child
- 1:37:49Speaker 3: support on his end as well, you get double bombed
- 1:37:52Speaker 3: on this.
- 1:37:52Speaker 4: I don't see how any d or P is worth
- 1:37:56Speaker 4: any one million.
- 1:37:58Speaker 3: That's probably that's probab relative to what she can pay.
- 1:38:01Speaker 5: I know, but I mean again, if you're being sued
- 1:38:04Speaker 5: and you're I mean, hell, hath no fury right, you're
- 1:38:08Speaker 5: going after everything you own.
- 1:38:09Speaker 4: I just what I talk about not being worth it.
- 1:38:14Speaker 4: I love you, Jack, Yeah, I do, But.
- 1:38:20Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 1:38:23Speaker 5: Math does not add up. I don't know a person
- 1:38:26Speaker 5: or a relationship. Ever, that would be worth not just
- 1:38:30Speaker 5: the breaking up of your marriage, the breaking up of
- 1:38:32Speaker 5: your home.
- 1:38:33Speaker 4: How that affects your career, how that affects your family relationships.
- 1:38:36Speaker 5: But then you add in the financial strain of having
- 1:38:39Speaker 5: to add in a financial judgment on top of alimony,
- 1:38:43Speaker 5: on top of child support.
- 1:38:44Speaker 3: And the thing is is, like with this lady, you
- 1:38:46Speaker 3: know there are two kids involved in one of these cases,
- 1:38:48Speaker 3: so you have to assume that in that situation it
- 1:38:51Speaker 3: even gets worse for the person who is perpetuating the affair.
- 1:38:55Speaker 3: Mebe if you're the guy here and you've started an
- 1:38:58Speaker 3: affair with a married woman and you have kids and
- 1:39:01Speaker 3: a wife on your end as well, and you wind up,
- 1:39:03Speaker 3: you know, you wind up causing the person that you're
- 1:39:05Speaker 3: having an affair with to have a divorce, and then
- 1:39:07Speaker 3: of course they find out you get divorced. So now
- 1:39:10Speaker 3: you have to be child sport and alimony, and the
- 1:39:12Speaker 3: person that you've just hooked up with has to pay
- 1:39:15Speaker 3: the ex wife money as well because of this new law.
- 1:39:19Speaker 5: So imagine this blossoming new relationship. Right these two people
- 1:39:24Speaker 5: hook up, they decide he doesn't just want to be
- 1:39:27Speaker 5: as manager her manager.
- 1:39:28Speaker 4: He wants to be her husband.
- 1:39:29Speaker 5: They start married life off having to worry about how
- 1:39:33Speaker 5: to pay a one point seventy five million dollar judgment
- 1:39:35Speaker 5: on her side yep, while also paying alimony and child
- 1:39:39Speaker 5: support on his side. You have to hope that content
- 1:39:42Speaker 5: creation is good enough that you can meet those financial obligations.
- 1:39:46Speaker 5: It's a relationship killer, beginning, middle, and end. Just pay
- 1:39:51Speaker 5: for a hooker, no, because you're still going to get divorced.
- 1:39:56Speaker 5: And I mean you could still Oh could you see
- 1:39:58Speaker 5: the hooker?
- 1:40:00Speaker 4: I don't know. The first thing they have to do
- 1:40:02Speaker 4: is find your body first. Yeah, Agen, they won't.
- 1:40:07Speaker 7: Last segment, we were talking about the interpreter at the
- 1:40:09Speaker 7: White House being court ordered to do it, and said
- 1:40:11Speaker 7: that they never had one before. There actually was, It
- 1:40:15Speaker 7: was only just a few years ago. The Biden White
- 1:40:18Speaker 7: House hired as full time American signed language interpreter back
- 1:40:22Speaker 7: in twenty twenty two, specifically for interpret briefing speeches and
- 1:40:28Speaker 7: recorded events.
- 1:40:29Speaker 3: Yeah. And then I read a text earlier that Obama
- 1:40:32Speaker 3: had one part time or something, and then this White
- 1:40:34Speaker 3: House does not have one. They have one during certain things,
- 1:40:36Speaker 3: but they what they're arguing is they don't believe that
- 1:40:38Speaker 3: they should be able to have the ESL person at
- 1:40:41Speaker 3: all briefings that they shouldn't be there when the president's
- 1:40:44Speaker 3: doing Q and a's that they shouldn't have to do that.
- 1:40:50Speaker 4: Only informal when we want them too.
- 1:40:52Speaker 3: I wonder what the threshold is for getting a law
- 1:40:55Speaker 3: like that passed. I have the research a little bit
- 1:40:57Speaker 3: find out when that came to North Carolina and how
- 1:41:00Speaker 3: that you know, what it takes to get something like
- 1:41:02Speaker 3: that passed, how it gets on the ballot. Interesting.
- 1:41:04Speaker 5: Yeah, first you're gonna have to write the answer to trivia,
- 1:41:06Speaker 5: but then you can get to that research right after,
- 1:41:08Speaker 5: all right?
- 1:41:08Speaker 3: Four seven text seven seven zero three one year, five o'clock.
- 1:41:12Speaker 3: Keyword is check that's c H G c K. Got
- 1:41:14Speaker 3: a real radio dot of him and send that away
- 1:41:16Speaker 3: for your chance in one thousand bucks.
- 1:41:17Speaker 5: What No, someone just said, don't get caught at a
- 1:41:19Speaker 5: Coldplay concert?
- 1:41:22Speaker 14: Right?
- 1:41:23Speaker 3: That would work? I mean, that's it, That's exactly what
- 1:41:25Speaker 3: it is.
- 1:41:26Speaker 5: But that's up in the northeast. And I don't remember
- 1:41:28Speaker 5: you saying one of those laws on the right state.
- 1:41:30Speaker 3: It's not in the right state. They're safe. Yeah, we're
- 1:41:33Speaker 3: not safe, but safe, you feel me?
- 1:41:34Speaker 11: All right?
- 1:41:35Speaker 3: Back in a second, let them up. It's not for trivia.
- 1:41:38Speaker 14: Do you want to play a game?
- 1:41:40Speaker 11: It's good Jim Colbert Show. Trivia is next call now,
- 1:41:46Speaker 11: four o seven four.
- 1:41:53Speaker 23: So I walked up to this bitch yesterday and this
- 1:41:56Speaker 23: guy was sitting here at this cute little dog.
- 1:41:59Speaker 9: I said, oh, well, can I pet your dog? Does
- 1:42:01Speaker 9: your dog bite? He goes, no, my dog doesn't bite.
- 1:42:04Speaker 9: I leaned over to pet the dog, and he nearly
- 1:42:06Speaker 9: took my hand off. I said, I thought, your dog
- 1:42:09Speaker 9: doesn't bite. He goes, well, that's not my dog.
- 1:42:15Speaker 4: I shouldn't gut you that hard.

- 1:45:36Speaker 3: All right, Big Joe, this is an easy game. Boss,
- 1:45:39Speaker 3: got a question here for you. Four answers. One of
- 1:45:41Speaker 3: these answers is a lie. What But if you can
- 1:45:45Speaker 3: find it, I'll send you over to Jack and he'll
- 1:45:47Speaker 3: take really good care of you in so many ways, Joe,
- 1:45:50Speaker 3: so many easy Joe. What's your favorite beer? Buddy?
- 1:45:55Speaker 8: Favorite beer? Right now?
- 1:45:57Speaker 3: Maybe go on a big way. That's a good there
- 1:46:00Speaker 3: you all right, buddy, Here we go. On this day
- 1:46:02Speaker 3: in nineteen seventeen, Joseph Corer's CEO of Autolf Cors Brewing
- 1:46:08Speaker 3: Company is born on this day. Oh wow, here are
- 1:46:10Speaker 3: three fun facts about Cores and one Rocky Mountain Live.
- 1:46:13Speaker 3: We're talking about Cores Brewing buddy, which one of these
- 1:46:16Speaker 3: is not true? Here we go. Number one, Cores owns
- 1:46:20Speaker 3: a company called Corestech, which is a company that makes
- 1:46:23Speaker 3: technical ceramics for semiconductors and car parts. Number two. In
- 1:46:28Speaker 3: nineteen fifty nine, Cores was the first brewer in the
- 1:46:31Speaker 3: world to put their beer in aluminum cans. Number three,
- 1:46:35Speaker 3: Cores Brewery in Golden Colorado is the single largest brewing
- 1:46:39Speaker 3: facility in the world. Or lastly, cors Light comes in
- 1:46:43Speaker 3: a silver can because while printing the cans they rant
- 1:46:46Speaker 3: out of yellow ink and just ran with it. Which
- 1:46:50Speaker 3: one of those is a lie.
- 1:46:52Speaker 8: I've been to the Cores Brewing Company, but I remember
- 1:46:54Speaker 8: much about it because I was in Denver and wasn't
- 1:46:57Speaker 8: really there most of the time. Let's go with number one.
- 1:47:01Speaker 3: No, that's absolutely true, and I have to tell you
- 1:47:03Speaker 3: something to do. Sorry, but it is a fascinating story.
- 1:47:07Speaker 3: During Prohibition, Cores is like, well, what are we gonna do?
- 1:47:10Speaker 16: Right?
- 1:47:11Speaker 3: So they started making ceramics, right, pot stuff like that,
- 1:47:16Speaker 3: and they found that in the making of ceramics, they
- 1:47:18Speaker 3: could also make ceramics for other things like parts, and
- 1:47:21Speaker 3: as the company grew Cores Tech, they actually started specializing
- 1:47:25Speaker 3: in ceramic products for like semiconductors and things of that nature.
- 1:47:29Speaker 3: And the company still stands.
- 1:47:31Speaker 4: Oh kind of crazy, right, well, you gotta pivot.
- 1:47:33Speaker 3: That's right. One, two, four or five?
- 1:47:36Speaker 4: It's four?
- 1:47:36Speaker 3: Or is Corey Corey? How you doing good? All right, Corey?
- 1:47:41Speaker 3: We're talking about the Cores Brewing Company. Which one of
- 1:47:43Speaker 3: these isn't true? Number one? In nineteen fifty nine, Cores
- 1:47:46Speaker 3: was the first brewer in the world to put their
- 1:47:48Speaker 3: beer in aluminum cans. Number two, the Cores Brewery in Golden,
- 1:47:51Speaker 3: Colorado is the single largest brewing facility in the world.
- 1:47:54Speaker 3: Or lastly, Cores Light comes in the silver can because
- 1:47:57Speaker 3: while printing the cans they ran out of yellow ink
- 1:47:59Speaker 3: and just ran with it. Number one, No, that's absolutely true.
- 1:48:06Speaker 3: Cores was the first brewer in the world to put
- 1:48:09Speaker 3: their beer in aluminum cans.
- 1:48:11Speaker 4: Oh wow, that's the one I thought was a lie.
- 1:48:13Speaker 3: And by the way, they recycle almost every one of them.
- 1:48:16Speaker 3: It's recycled stuff. So one, two, or five, let's go too.
- 1:48:20Speaker 3: Two is Kevin Kevin? How you doing good?
- 1:48:24Speaker 10: Guys?
- 1:48:24Speaker 17: Y'all?
- 1:48:24Speaker 3: Good boss we're talking about Cores here. You have a
- 1:48:26Speaker 3: fifty to fifty shot at winning. Which one of.
- 1:48:28Speaker 20: These is a lie?
- 1:48:30Speaker 3: Number one, the Cores Brewery in Golden Colorado is the
- 1:48:33Speaker 3: single largest brewing facility in the world. Or lastly, cors
- 1:48:36Speaker 3: Light comes in silver cans because while printing the cans
- 1:48:39Speaker 3: they ran out of yellow ink and just ran with it.
- 1:48:43Speaker 3: It's gotta be number one, it's not, Buddy the cost
- 1:48:47Speaker 3: The Cores Brewery in Golden Colorado double triple check is
- 1:48:50Speaker 3: the largest brewing facility on planet Earth. Really yep, one
- 1:48:54Speaker 3: or five.
- 1:48:56Speaker 5: On one of the last couple of days, let's go five, Brian,
- 1:48:59Speaker 5: how you're doing?
- 1:49:01Speaker 4: Hey, what's going on?
- 1:49:02Speaker 11: I like the default when yeah, you are.
- 1:49:04Speaker 3: A default winner.
- 1:49:05Speaker 16: Here.
- 1:49:05Speaker 3: Cors Light comes into silver can because while printing the
- 1:49:07Speaker 3: cans they ran out of yellow ink and ran with it. Yeah,
- 1:49:12Speaker 3: is that true? That is a lie, but we'll just
- 1:49:17Speaker 3: call it the silver bullet. Yeah, that don't work. A
- 1:49:20Speaker 3: college student named it. And it is funny though, because
- 1:49:23Speaker 3: they did They did want to print the normal yellow
- 1:49:27Speaker 3: color on there, uh, but they wanted to make it different,
- 1:49:29Speaker 3: so they wound up just going with the regular can.
- 1:49:31Speaker 3: I remember when we first started drinking. That was a
- 1:49:34Speaker 3: big thing.
- 1:49:35Speaker 7: If you could get cores, it was almost like a
- 1:49:37Speaker 7: smoky and vandit just like you just couldn't get it
- 1:49:41Speaker 7: where you live.
- 1:49:42Speaker 3: Where we live. Yeah, it wasn't available because it was
- 1:49:44Speaker 3: a Colorado thing. And I will tell you they had
- 1:49:47Speaker 3: a product that was one of the best lagger beers.
- 1:49:49Speaker 3: And I don't even know if they make it anymore,
- 1:49:51Speaker 3: but for a while they made a product called Corps
- 1:49:53Speaker 3: Extra Gold, which was a really you know, whereas Cores is,
- 1:49:57Speaker 3: you know, kind of like a bud lightish kind of lagger.
- 1:50:00Speaker 3: The extra Goal was rich and delicious. It was so good.
- 1:50:04Speaker 3: And even then I remember drinking Cores beer. When I
- 1:50:06Speaker 3: first moved to Orlando, I played on a softball league
- 1:50:08Speaker 3: for this gas station I was working at, and the
- 1:50:11Speaker 3: guy who owned the gas station would bring this giant
- 1:50:14Speaker 3: cooler of cores that's all he would drink, and we
- 1:50:17Speaker 3: would go there to play softball and then just sitting
- 1:50:20Speaker 3: left field and get so blotto just drinking cores. And
- 1:50:24Speaker 3: think when you get them cold, they go down.
- 1:50:27Speaker 4: Real easy, especially when you're hot and sweaty after a
- 1:50:30Speaker 4: softball games.
- 1:50:30Speaker 3: A couple other things, you mean, I know about Coors.
- 1:50:32Speaker 3: Before we get to the top of the hour and
- 1:50:33Speaker 3: find out what's happening with good sauce. Cors recycles almost
- 1:50:36Speaker 3: one hundred percent of the products used to make their beer.
- 1:50:38Speaker 4: That is such good news.
- 1:50:40Speaker 3: Uh, miners, Now you know what's called, right, the Cores
- 1:50:43Speaker 3: is the what of beers? Champagne, no banquet, banquet of beers?
- 1:50:48Speaker 16: Right?
- 1:50:48Speaker 3: Oh really, So here's how I got that name. So
- 1:50:50Speaker 3: nobody I never understood why they called it the banquet
- 1:50:52Speaker 3: of beers. Right out in Colorado, when miners would come
- 1:50:57Speaker 3: out of the mines for working, you know, twelve fourteen
- 1:50:59Speaker 3: hour day, they would go and they would sit around
- 1:51:02Speaker 3: and they would have dinner and drink together, and they
- 1:51:05Speaker 3: called those little get togethers banquets, and Cores was the
- 1:51:08Speaker 3: beer they drank.
- 1:51:09Speaker 4: Oh, there you have it.
- 1:51:10Speaker 3: So that's exactly how it's or why it's called the
- 1:51:13Speaker 3: banquet of beers. Beer that's miller like highlight. And then, uh,
- 1:51:21Speaker 3: during prohibition, Cores made malted milk, which they sold to
- 1:51:26Speaker 3: the Mars candy Company. So for a while and you're
- 1:51:29Speaker 3: having candy was actually coming from the Cores company at
- 1:51:31Speaker 3: least the malted milk. And then last week Cores invented
- 1:51:34Speaker 3: the push tab can. Really, where you have the can
- 1:51:38Speaker 3: that you would take the tab off and throw it away.
- 1:51:40Speaker 3: They invented the one where it would push in, and
- 1:51:43Speaker 3: they discontinued it because people hated it, and then they
- 1:51:46Speaker 3: brought it back later. Really, now everyone does it, and
- 1:51:49Speaker 3: now exactly you didn't get a tab. You didn't get
- 1:51:51Speaker 3: a pull tab anymore. All right? Four O seven nine
- 1:51:53Speaker 3: six four one textus seven seven zero three one. We
- 1:51:56Speaker 3: have another keyword for you and Ross Pageant on the
- 1:51:58Speaker 3: other side of this sh like I said, dollar d

- 1:52:15Speaker 3: as well. Yeah, celevery single Wednesday around the time, we
- 1:52:19Speaker 3: have a good friend of ours drop by to tell
- 1:52:21Speaker 3: us what's happening on his awesome podcast. It's called good Sauce.
- 1:52:24Speaker 3: This guy is Ross page.
- 1:52:29Speaker 12: Baby. How goes it? Everybody?
- 1:52:31Speaker 3: I like seeing you in a sweater. It makes you
- 1:52:33Speaker 3: look younger. I don't know all, I don't know why.
- 1:52:37Speaker 17: Ah man, Let's just jump right into it. What is
- 1:52:39Speaker 17: the rule about people leaving clothes in your home.
- 1:52:43Speaker 4: Oh that's not your sweater.
- 1:52:47Speaker 3: Buddy, what do you do it?
- 1:52:48Speaker 9: Sup?
- 1:52:49Speaker 3: It is not my sweater to wear it once?
- 1:52:53Speaker 12: Well, then I got good news.
- 1:52:54Speaker 3: And you returning.
- 1:52:55Speaker 12: This is my first though, my first time wearing this sweater.
- 1:52:58Speaker 3: That's a big sweater. Dude, you look like a turtle
- 1:53:00Speaker 3: on with GOVI yeah.
- 1:53:02Speaker 17: You like it though, right, full wool baby, hugo boss.
- 1:53:06Speaker 17: I forgot it's dark history.
- 1:53:09Speaker 3: I'm gonna pair. I'm gonna pair those dark history jeans myself. Yeah.
- 1:53:14Speaker 17: Man, they make good products, but just don't pick up
- 1:53:16Speaker 17: a history book when you wear it.
- 1:53:18Speaker 12: Right, It's all I'm trying to say.
- 1:53:20Speaker 17: All I'm trying to say is that this morning, this
- 1:53:23Speaker 17: is the only time I think wool is acceptable right
- 1:53:27Speaker 17: now on weather like this. And I just I even
- 1:53:30Speaker 17: facetimed them. I said, yeah, pretty sure this is yours
- 1:53:33Speaker 17: and I'm wearing it.
- 1:53:34Speaker 3: Is it your brothers?
- 1:53:36Speaker 17: No, it's not one of my good No, it's one
- 1:53:39Speaker 17: of my good friend He moved away though, so like.
- 1:53:43Speaker 3: Yeah, yea, well, dude, that's your that's your sweater. And
- 1:53:45Speaker 3: if it's a if it's a real hugo boss. Yet
- 1:53:47Speaker 3: a sweater. That's an expensive sweater.
- 1:53:50Speaker 4: It is.
- 1:53:50Speaker 17: It's probably around a buck forty buck fifty in the
- 1:53:53Speaker 17: in the world of sweaters, it.
- 1:53:55Speaker 3: May be a lot more.
- 1:53:56Speaker 9: Dude.
- 1:53:56Speaker 3: If it's an actual Hugo Boss, it may be a
- 1:53:58Speaker 3: lot more than that. It may be more like four
- 1:54:00Speaker 3: to six hundred what.
- 1:54:02Speaker 17: Oh no, it's still got I know it's a real
- 1:54:04Speaker 17: Hugo Boss because whenever I put it on, I can
- 1:54:06Speaker 17: still feel the nineteen forties eight.
- 1:54:10Speaker 12: But I can't stop making World War two Hugo Boss jokes.
- 1:54:14Speaker 17: But I'm here to tell you about what's going down
- 1:54:16Speaker 17: on episode eighty two. And yes, EDC is a big topic.
- 1:54:20Speaker 17: But we already talked about d C yesterday. But you
- 1:54:22Speaker 17: should know, talking EDC with someone who's been to a
- 1:54:27Speaker 17: festival once or twice is a lot different than talking to, say,
- 1:54:31Speaker 17: someone who would be considered a shaman. Dare I say,
- 1:54:34Speaker 17: a guru of music festivals? And that is my best
- 1:54:38Speaker 17: friend John Arc. He's been to about thirty total.
- 1:54:41Speaker 3: Festival oh As he really had no idea that about
- 1:54:43Speaker 3: that part of his personality.
- 1:54:45Speaker 12: Oh, he has tasted music before.
- 1:54:48Speaker 17: And you can go ahead and get a better insight
- 1:54:51Speaker 17: of that festival. That's one of the that's a big
- 1:54:54Speaker 17: portion portion of today tonight's episode, but a huge portion
- 1:54:57Speaker 17: of tonight's episode is the different between nicknames and joke names. Okay,
- 1:55:07Speaker 17: so like a nickname, I believe, Jim, one of your
- 1:55:10Speaker 17: nicknames was was.
- 1:55:11Speaker 3: Chipper, Yeah, chipper back in the day, because I had
- 1:55:13Speaker 3: I had a chip tooth.
- 1:55:15Speaker 17: And that would be also knocking on the door of
- 1:55:19Speaker 17: being a joke name, because it's pointing out something that
- 1:55:23Speaker 17: probably not the thing that you're most proud of.
- 1:55:25Speaker 3: Yeah, no, it wasn't my favorite thing that ever happened.
- 1:55:28Speaker 3: When you call me chipper and basically just tell people, hey,
- 1:55:30Speaker 3: look at this guy's blanked up mouth.
- 1:55:32Speaker 17: Good just right there, right there, it's like it's like
- 1:55:36Speaker 17: calling somebody who's bad with money, Like look at Deddy.
- 1:55:41Speaker 12: It's like, why do you got to bring that up?
- 1:55:43Speaker 12: Right now?
- 1:55:43Speaker 8: Man?
- 1:55:44Speaker 12: Look at scratch off McGee.
- 1:55:47Speaker 16: Jack.
- 1:55:48Speaker 9: What a buddy.
- 1:55:49Speaker 12: I'm so sorry to even point this question towards you.
- 1:55:52Speaker 3: What do you mean? I just I would think very
- 1:55:56Speaker 3: first nickname, very first one was cracker Jack. Wasn't it
- 1:56:00Speaker 3: fat Jack? Fat Jack? That's right, fat Jack, eight and
- 1:56:03Speaker 3: a half pound baby. They call me fat Jack.
- 1:56:07Speaker 17: See I would have thought cracker Jack just well, no,
- 1:56:11Speaker 17: that's still as offensive.
- 1:56:12Speaker 3: Hey and and Ross. Thank god it wasn't all women
- 1:56:15Speaker 3: calling him that, because it probably had no effect at all.
- 1:56:19Speaker 3: His sisters, his mom, everybody calling him fat Jack, all women.
- 1:56:23Speaker 12: I listen, this might.
- 1:56:24Speaker 17: Come off as sexist, and I honestly don't care, because
- 1:56:27Speaker 17: it's extremely true.
- 1:56:29Speaker 12: Getting bullied by a female as a dude.
- 1:56:33Speaker 3: It's the worst. It's the worst, times worse, It's way worse.
- 1:56:37Speaker 3: I would rather take a beating by a thousand dudes
- 1:56:40Speaker 3: with sharp tongues than one chick coming at me.
- 1:56:43Speaker 12: I agree, But no, Jack, that's your first nickname.
- 1:56:48Speaker 17: But the reason why I shiver and struggle asking this
- 1:56:52Speaker 17: question is because your first name is Jack.
- 1:56:54Speaker 12: And how often did.
- 1:56:55Speaker 7: You g oh, buddy, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah? There was
- 1:56:58Speaker 7: a yeah yeah yeah. Because Jack is also a verb
- 1:57:04Speaker 7: yeah uh. There are a lot of associations that that
- 1:57:07Speaker 7: came up a lot. Explain more, Jack, I don't think
- 1:57:11Speaker 7: he can.
- 1:57:13Speaker 12: Going in great details.
- 1:57:14Speaker 3: I think we need to get off, take a snop back,
- 1:57:17Speaker 3: take us to the start, and so and deb I know.
- 1:57:24Speaker 17: And I remember this because we talked nicknames before, but
- 1:57:27Speaker 17: I really want to talk about like I wish Deb
- 1:57:30Speaker 17: Roberts is set up for one of the coolest nicknames.
- 1:57:34Speaker 12: Dare I say the coolest nickname out of us four?
- 1:57:39Speaker 3: Well, I remember what she said her nickname was, and
- 1:57:41Speaker 3: it wasn't super flattering, so I don't yeah, oh yeah
- 1:57:45Speaker 3: yeah d rob oh yeah yeah yeah rob Our drop
- 1:57:50Speaker 3: top deb remember she has that too, because she went
- 1:57:53Speaker 3: through a period of time where she liked to run
- 1:57:54Speaker 3: down beaches topless.
- 1:57:55Speaker 17: Yeah yeah, drop drop top deb Robe. Like there's so
- 1:58:01Speaker 17: many cool nicknames and I know that, and remind me.
- 1:58:05Speaker 17: I was trying to remember it.
- 1:58:06Speaker 13: Isn't it?
- 1:58:06Speaker 17: Like God, I don't want to get it wrong because
- 1:58:08Speaker 17: then it just just now I'm just digging myself a grape.
- 1:58:11Speaker 12: But wasn't like your nickname like like pood Was it pooch?
- 1:58:15Speaker 11: You got it?
- 1:58:16Speaker 3: That was pooch.
- 1:58:17Speaker 4: Yeah, it was pooch.
- 1:58:18Speaker 17: Well, don't smile as I get that right. That's still
- 1:58:21Speaker 17: awful news. And I'm sorry that that was part.
- 1:58:23Speaker 3: Of yourn And I don't know who the further. Let
- 1:58:25Speaker 3: me just say something, I don't know who these bitches
- 1:58:27Speaker 3: were that were going you pooch because you were absolutely
- 1:58:30Speaker 3: gor I mean, look, you're still a gorgeous woman. When
- 1:58:32Speaker 3: you were younger, you were like a you were a knockout.
- 1:58:36Speaker 4: It wasn't just the girls, it was my entire sixth
- 1:58:38Speaker 4: grade clabs.
- 1:58:38Speaker 7: Why would they do that, I don't know, because that's
- 1:58:41Speaker 7: sixth grade, middle school school, more human beings on the planet.
- 1:58:45Speaker 3: Yeah, oh yeah, and you had an olive skin. Damn.
- 1:58:47Speaker 4: They used to make me fetch sticks.
- 1:58:50Speaker 12: God, and then would you go get them if I.
- 1:58:53Speaker 4: Wanted to get on the school bus. They blocked the
- 1:58:55Speaker 4: door to the school bus.
- 1:58:56Speaker 3: Jesus, I hate hearing that. I want to go back
- 1:58:59Speaker 3: there and shoot everyone them in the face. Oh my god,
- 1:59:01Speaker 3: I can't stand with.
- 1:59:02Speaker 12: A rubber band.
- 1:59:03Speaker 4: With a rubber band, don't go airsoft gun.
- 1:59:09Speaker 3: We have history with that too, that'sh.
- 1:59:13Speaker 11: Don't do that.
- 1:59:13Speaker 12: They don't like that either. All right, all right, I
- 1:59:16Speaker 12: learned that the hard way.
- 1:59:17Speaker 17: I remember this crucial moment, and I think I've shared
- 1:59:21Speaker 17: this with you guys before, but I remember I was
- 1:59:24Speaker 17: in private school first to fifth grade, learning about God
- 1:59:29Speaker 17: and chapel every Thursday where you where you your white uniform,
- 1:59:34Speaker 17: because that was God's Day for us, not Sunday Thursday.
- 1:59:38Speaker 17: It was filled with so much continuity and nothing explosive.
- 1:59:44Speaker 12: And then my mom didn't make enough money.
- 1:59:48Speaker 17: I don't know, but I went to public school my
- 1:59:51Speaker 17: sixth grade, I go to middle school and that's my
- 1:59:54Speaker 17: first time in public school.
- 1:59:56Speaker 3: Oh my god.
- 1:59:57Speaker 12: And my last name is pad oh Man. Yeah, and
- 2:00:03Speaker 12: it's middle school.
- 2:00:04Speaker 3: Yeah, they probably added an h.
- 2:00:06Speaker 12: So this is this is my I mean just massive moment.
- 2:00:11Speaker 17: I'm in geography class that I raise up my hand
- 2:00:14Speaker 17: to answer a question. I go India, and they go,
- 2:00:18Speaker 17: you're right, Ross Paget, good job. And then there's this
- 2:00:21Speaker 17: kid named Jared.
- 2:00:23Speaker 12: He stood up and ross Paget the geography.
- 2:00:32Speaker 3: F word for paget.
- 2:00:34Speaker 12: Yeah, he didn't say tablet.
- 2:00:35Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah yeah yeah, he didn't say and
- 2:00:38Speaker 3: then he didn't say maggot.
- 2:00:41Speaker 17: He did not, And I just remember going here it is,
- 2:00:45Speaker 17: this is it, It's gonna stick. This is gonna be
- 2:00:47Speaker 17: my name for the rest of life. And then this
- 2:00:50Speaker 17: deafening amount of silence as I completely hear his joke bombing,
- 2:00:56Speaker 17: Oh I dodged a bullet. It was the nice thing.
- 2:01:00Speaker 3: Hey, no, it's no Dora of the Explorer, that's for sure.
- 2:01:06Speaker 3: I truly think that.
- 2:01:09Speaker 17: And this is how thickle this whole life thing is
- 2:01:14Speaker 17: if that happens and that nickname sticks, what trajectory does
- 2:01:20Speaker 17: a young Ross pageant go on.
- 2:01:22Speaker 3: That's tough. And this is actually leading me to as
- 2:01:26Speaker 3: I'm listening to you, are you saying this? Because I
- 2:01:28Speaker 3: believe you should head it off at the pass for
- 2:01:30Speaker 3: Miles and already come up with his nickname so that
- 2:01:33Speaker 3: when he goes to school, he already has his nickname.
- 2:01:37Speaker 3: Like you can already say, oh, you know, my boys
- 2:01:38Speaker 3: and home already gave me this nick name. You can't
- 2:01:40Speaker 3: give me another one. It's this and then that way
- 2:01:42Speaker 3: you can control the narrative.
- 2:01:44Speaker 17: I call him money Mileo. I'm already making fun of him.
- 2:01:47Speaker 17: I keep calling them kilometers just to.
- 2:01:49Speaker 3: Get ahead of it.
- 2:01:50Speaker 17: I'm doing everything that I possibly can. But that's a
- 2:01:54Speaker 17: huge part of tonight's episode is the difference between nicknames
- 2:01:57Speaker 17: which are accepted from that party that goes Yeah, I
- 2:02:01Speaker 17: do like being called that and joke names. And this
- 2:02:04Speaker 17: is the best tease that I can give you. I
- 2:02:07Speaker 17: had to ask Jack if we could say Nko's nickname.
- 2:02:15Speaker 3: Okay.
- 2:02:16Speaker 12: It was like FCC, like, are we good? Can we
- 2:02:20Speaker 12: say this?
- 2:02:22Speaker 3: Can you confirm? Jack? I can confirm? He asked me. Yeah. Yeah,
- 2:02:27Speaker 3: you can confirm what your answer was.
- 2:02:29Speaker 7: At a certain time of night. You could say one
- 2:02:32Speaker 7: time and one time only.
- 2:02:34Speaker 3: Are you saying it tonight?
- 2:02:36Speaker 12: We cut the second time we said it. We say
- 2:02:38Speaker 12: it once baby.
- 2:02:39Speaker 17: Let's right, it's all going down, Episode eighty two. If
- 2:02:44Speaker 17: you ever got picked on, or if you really want
- 2:02:47Speaker 17: to know what's happening over at EEDC, this is your episode.
- 2:02:51Speaker 12: Really proud of the boys on this one. Really proud
- 2:02:53Speaker 12: of this episode. I hope everybody enjoys.
- 2:02:55Speaker 3: Tonight at eight o'clock right here on Real Radio one
- 2:02:57Speaker 3: oh four point one, or you can go to the
- 2:02:59Speaker 3: iHeartRadio app download it there. You can also get it
- 2:03:01Speaker 3: a good sauce as well. Man, So any stand up coming.
- 2:03:03Speaker 12: Up outside of Secrets hide Away on the fifth?
- 2:03:09Speaker 3: All right, you gonna have a Ross page guy. Yeah,
- 2:03:14Speaker 3: we'll see ross tomorrow right here on the show for sure.
- 2:03:16Speaker 3: Good scene, and you big dog, have a good one man.
- 2:03:18Speaker 8: All right?
- 2:03:18Speaker 3: Four seal dollar is your six o'clock. Hey word, that's
- 2:03:22Speaker 3: d O L L A R. Slide over to Real
- 2:03:25Speaker 3: Radio dot and him and send that away for your
- 2:03:27Speaker 3: chance at one thousand of those dollars back in a
- 2:03:29Speaker 3: second with more of the Jim Colbert Show.
- 2:03:45Speaker 23: All right, guys, you got in the subject of pennies
- 2:03:47Speaker 23: and change and paying with cash for digital payments and
- 2:03:50Speaker 23: bank accounts, et cetera. As a forty five year old man,
- 2:03:53Speaker 23: I'm not going to say that paying with cash is
- 2:03:55Speaker 23: quote unquote cringe, but as also a very technologically sacked
- 2:03:59Speaker 23: as savvy guy who you know, kind of understands how
- 2:04:02Speaker 23: the world works today, and I'm fine with that. I
- 2:04:06Speaker 23: kind of equate paying with cash these days as of
- 2:04:08Speaker 23: like twenty years ago, when I go to the grocery
- 2:04:10Speaker 23: store and an old lady would.
- 2:04:11Speaker 14: Pay with a check.
- 2:04:12Speaker 3: Yeah, dam was he checking somebody out? Yeah, or he's
- 2:04:18Speaker 3: driving an old honky horn car from like the twenties.
- 2:04:23Speaker 19: Hey, guys, Jimmy, miss Deborah, mister Jackie Fingers, I'm so sorry.
- 2:04:31Speaker 9: I think I missed it.
- 2:04:32Speaker 11: I got no color.
- 2:04:34Speaker 13: I know you never have one.
- 2:04:36Speaker 9: No the last time I won, no and I missed
- 2:04:40Speaker 9: the call.
- 2:04:41Speaker 12: Damn it.
- 2:04:42Speaker 11: Bring the phone with you everywhere you go. Love you, guys.
- 2:04:45Speaker 3: I try to tell you thanks, buddy, appreciate it.
- 2:04:47Speaker 16: Hey guys, It's Heather from Nisimona Beach. I wish I
- 2:04:51Speaker 16: could say Happy Humpday, but I just need you to
- 2:04:55Speaker 16: send help or some sanity my way, because Lord save
- 2:05:01Speaker 16: me from teaching a seventeen year old how to drive
- 2:05:06Speaker 16: ten days before her list and my niece is not ready.
- 2:05:12Speaker 4: Lord help us.
- 2:05:15Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what empty malls are for. That's a driving school,
- 2:05:21Speaker 3: is score. Yeah? All right, welcome back to the Jim
- 2:05:25Speaker 3: Colbert Show. Dollar is your six o'clock? Heyword, that's d
- 2:05:29Speaker 3: O L l A R. You just heard her man
- 2:05:31Speaker 3: missed it.
- 2:05:33Speaker 4: I really hope that was a bill collector in his case?
- 2:05:35Speaker 3: Yeah exactly.
- 2:05:37Speaker 16: I am.
- 2:05:38Speaker 3: So you're wishing him to be in debt?
- 2:05:40Speaker 4: No, but I really hope you didn't miss a thousand dollars.
- 2:05:43Speaker 3: I get it, I get it. Deb and Jackery here
- 2:05:46Speaker 3: as well. I can't remember you guys. Deb you said
- 2:05:49Speaker 3: you were doing your fall stuff, you were not putting
- 2:05:50Speaker 3: up Christmas stuff until after Thanksgiving.
- 2:05:52Speaker 4: Well, I asked for the Christmas stuff, but then I
- 2:05:55Speaker 4: got the are you crazy?
- 2:05:57Speaker 3: Did you really?
- 2:05:57Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 2:05:58Speaker 3: Okay, Jack you are.
- 2:06:00Speaker 7: We will be putting Christmas stuff up before Thanksgiving because
- 2:06:04Speaker 7: my one daughter will not be able to join us
- 2:06:06Speaker 7: at Christmas, okay, and she will be there for Thanksgiving.
- 2:06:09Speaker 3: Understood. Let me ask, do you believe that you should,
- 2:06:13Speaker 3: regardless of when you do it. Like, this is the
- 2:06:15Speaker 3: earliest we've ever had our Christmas up because we wanted
- 2:06:18Speaker 3: up during Thanksgiving. You know, this is the earliest we've
- 2:06:21Speaker 3: ever done it. It's it's basically all up. The tree
- 2:06:24Speaker 3: just has to be decorated, but that's a family thing.
- 2:06:26Speaker 3: But all the other okutreman, except for a few things outside,
- 2:06:29Speaker 3: are already up.
- 2:06:30Speaker 7: Even twenty twenty pandemic year. I remember every the big
- 2:06:34Speaker 7: talk was everyone putting it up early.
- 2:06:36Speaker 4: That's true.
- 2:06:37Speaker 3: I do not remember us having it up this early.
- 2:06:39Speaker 3: I don't remember pre Thanksgiving because usually what happens is
- 2:06:42Speaker 3: our tradition for years was after Thanksgiving dinner, that's when
- 2:06:46Speaker 3: we start putting stuff up, or we have the tree
- 2:06:47Speaker 3: ready to go, and then after dinner we start decorating.
- 2:06:51Speaker 3: But by December first, we're already ready to go. Do
- 2:06:54Speaker 3: you judge people who do it too early?
- 2:06:57Speaker 4: No?
- 2:06:57Speaker 3: Do you judge people who leave it too long? Yes? Okay,
- 2:07:00Speaker 3: I'm the same way. Deb If somebody puts it up
- 2:07:03Speaker 3: too early.
- 2:07:03Speaker 4: Are you like, what the hell are they doing a
- 2:07:06Speaker 4: little with the Christmas in August?
- 2:07:08Speaker 3: Yeah? Of course, But I'm saying like, like the second
- 2:07:11Speaker 3: half of November A perfectly fine. Yeah, absolutely, Are you
- 2:07:14Speaker 3: the same way like people who leave it up a
- 2:07:16Speaker 3: little too long? You're like, okay, guys, we get it.
- 2:07:17Speaker 4: It's March.
- 2:07:18Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'll give you three Kings Day. It's Easter,
- 2:07:22Speaker 3: you guys, come on in.
- 2:07:24Speaker 4: So don't laugh.
- 2:07:25Speaker 5: My best friend, who by all things is she's Jewish,
- 2:07:30Speaker 5: but she used to put up a Christmas tree and
- 2:07:32Speaker 5: she would have it up till April or March.
- 2:07:34Speaker 4: Oh man, really, oh yeah, fully decorated.
- 2:07:36Speaker 3: She didn't change the decoration.
- 2:07:38Speaker 7: I my sister, the one with like twelve Christmas trees,
- 2:07:42Speaker 7: there's one that's permanently up, but it's always then it's
- 2:07:45Speaker 7: the Valentine's.
- 2:07:46Speaker 3: Day track, right, and it's the Barbie tree. I don't
- 2:07:50Speaker 3: even know anymore. You guys, remember there was a building
- 2:07:52Speaker 3: trend for a while for new homes for a tree closet,
- 2:07:57Speaker 3: and the whole idea of the Christmas tree closet was
- 2:07:59Speaker 3: in your living room. They built a wall panel that
- 2:08:02Speaker 3: looked like a wall, but you would open it up
- 2:08:05Speaker 3: and your Christmas tree would stay completely decorated and lighted
- 2:08:09Speaker 3: the entire year. You just drug it out of this
- 2:08:11Speaker 3: closet when it came time. That was an actual home
- 2:08:14Speaker 3: design thing for.
- 2:08:15Speaker 4: A while, because we get real Christmas trees.
- 2:08:17Speaker 3: Oh yeah, okay, but for artificial that would work from yeah,
- 2:08:20Speaker 3: that would work great. I like artificial because just easier.
- 2:08:24Speaker 9: Yep.
- 2:08:24Speaker 3: I do love the smell of the new of a
- 2:08:26Speaker 3: real tree.
- 2:08:27Speaker 4: Though.
- 2:08:28Speaker 3: The reason I bring this up is this, right, there's
- 2:08:30Speaker 3: an Air Force base, Tendaal Tindall Air Force Base the Panhandle,
- 2:08:35Speaker 3: that's right, has recently instructed residents to remove their Yule
- 2:08:40Speaker 3: Tide decorations and refrain from putting them back up until
- 2:08:44Speaker 3: after Thanksgiving. And dude, they are being militant about it. No,
- 2:08:49Speaker 3: pun Intendo, we see what you did there. And it
- 2:08:53Speaker 3: says all holiday decorations should be reflective in their respective
- 2:08:57Speaker 3: months and not any sooner than thirty before the given holiday.
- 2:09:03Speaker 3: What a ba humbug coming. Here's what sucks. And I
- 2:09:06Speaker 3: did not realize this. On Base Living is not run
- 2:09:10Speaker 3: by the Air Force. They actually shop that out. It's
- 2:09:13Speaker 3: another company that runs and collects rents and handles all
- 2:09:17Speaker 3: that stuff. The Air Force doesn't do that even though
- 2:09:19Speaker 3: it's on government property and by them. You know, they
- 2:09:22Speaker 3: have their own rules that the Air Force really can't
- 2:09:25Speaker 3: do anything about, kind of like a homeowners association for
- 2:09:29Speaker 3: the living on property on base, which I did not
- 2:09:32Speaker 3: know that, by the way, and it says the guidelines
- 2:09:36Speaker 3: are part of a broader Air Force policy. Community standards
- 2:09:39Speaker 3: are set by the privatized housing management company at some installations.
- 2:09:43Speaker 3: Standards may vary from base to base. But it's getting
- 2:09:46Speaker 3: a lot of news because not only is it you
- 2:09:48Speaker 3: can't put it up until after thanks sivving bright bright
- 2:09:50Speaker 3: blah blah blah. You can't only light your stuff. It
- 2:09:54Speaker 3: can only be lit from six in the evening till
- 2:09:56Speaker 3: eleven at ninth, So you only even have a four
- 2:09:59Speaker 3: or five hour window where you can display your lights.
- 2:10:01Speaker 3: Anything before or after that.
- 2:10:02Speaker 5: Is no good, which I think is crappy because just
- 2:10:05Speaker 5: like in jack situation, what if you're decorating early because
- 2:10:08Speaker 5: someone's going to be deployed.
- 2:10:10Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly, or there could be a thousand reasons exactly
- 2:10:13Speaker 3: why you want to put it up. Who cares? Maybe
- 2:10:15Speaker 3: you have a child that really likes it and it
- 2:10:17Speaker 3: makes them super happy that you put them up five
- 2:10:20Speaker 3: days early. And by the way, I mean if they
- 2:10:22Speaker 3: say thirty days, I mean December is the twenty fifth,
- 2:10:25Speaker 3: so theoretically by that weekend you could put them up anyway.
- 2:10:28Speaker 3: So basically what they're saying is still after Thanksgiving you
- 2:10:30Speaker 3: cannot put up your decorations on this Air Force base.
- 2:10:33Speaker 4: They say, do it anyway.
- 2:10:35Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, you don't pitch off the base commander. Well yeah,
- 2:10:38Speaker 3: that was the commander, it says. Air Force Captain Justin
- 2:10:41Speaker 3: Davidson Biebe, a Tendalls spokesperson, said Wednesday that the landlord
- 2:10:46Speaker 3: ball for Betty Communities set the policy and then they're
- 2:10:50Speaker 3: not gonna They're not going to you know, they're not
- 2:10:52Speaker 3: going to revisit.
- 2:10:54Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 2:10:54Speaker 3: Well they're not going to just step out against the
- 2:10:56Speaker 3: company that runs the That's what they hired them for.
- 2:10:59Speaker 3: You hire a comed to run your base and then
- 2:11:01Speaker 3: you go, hey, well we don't like that part of it.
- 2:11:02Speaker 3: I don't think they can do that. Well, they probably could.
- 2:11:05Speaker 3: There's a fifty nine page community handbook living on Tyndall
- 2:11:09Speaker 3: Air Force Base, and it explicitly states that winter decorations
- 2:11:14Speaker 3: and lights are only allowed from the week after Thanksgiving
- 2:11:17Speaker 3: through New Year's Day, and the lights can only be
- 2:11:19Speaker 3: lit from six until eleven. Fun.
- 2:11:22Speaker 4: Fun, fun, I say, get a holiday wrap package. Of
- 2:11:27Speaker 4: dog pooh.
- 2:11:27Speaker 3: Yeah, I say, hey, these people are serving our country.
- 2:11:32Speaker 4: Let them do whatever the hell they want.
- 2:11:33Speaker 3: Let them put their lights up. Yeah, exactly, just tom bitching'
- 2:11:36Speaker 3: Let them put their lights up. Let them enjoy life
- 2:11:37Speaker 3: a little bit.
- 2:11:38Speaker 12: Exactly.
- 2:11:38Speaker 3: You run so many other aspects of their life. Let
- 2:11:41Speaker 3: them have a little frivilty frivolry.
- 2:11:43Speaker 4: What is it with a Oh? I don't know, but
- 2:11:45Speaker 4: jack sears.
- 2:11:46Speaker 23: Just hang on.
- 2:11:47Speaker 4: Let them get it out of.
- 2:11:51Speaker 3: That's it?
- 2:11:52Speaker 12: Is it? Oh?
- 2:11:53Speaker 3: I got a chicken tip. That's the word on them.
- 2:11:55Speaker 3: You guess you guess you talk about I can't spell
- 2:12:02Speaker 3: it right. How do I know if it's wrong? If
- 2:12:03Speaker 3: against spell it, that's why you use voice to text.
- 2:12:05Speaker 3: But in your case, I don't think it'll out. Yeah,
- 2:12:07Speaker 3: it's free volity, right, freevoy.
- 2:12:12Speaker 4: There you go.
- 2:12:13Speaker 3: They don't let out. They don't allow it. They want
- 2:12:15Speaker 3: you to just serve and move on.
- 2:12:17Speaker 4: I guess I would be two.
- 2:12:21Speaker 3: Other thing here that's happening as well is the first
- 2:12:25Speaker 3: ever radio or alien radio signal from an interstellar comet
- 2:12:31Speaker 3: has been received here in the US. It was an
- 2:12:35Speaker 3: RC Hill commercial. To those astronomers have detected the first
- 2:12:43Speaker 3: ever radio signal coming from the interstellar comet thirty one
- 2:12:47Speaker 3: Atlas as it passed by the halfway mark on its
- 2:12:49Speaker 3: way to a trip to our entire solar system.
- 2:12:52Speaker 4: Isn't that the one that doesn't have a tail?
- 2:12:53Speaker 3: Yeah, something like that as wild.
- 2:12:54Speaker 5: Yeah, and it kind of doesn't look like a asteroid
- 2:12:59Speaker 5: or meat year. It's kind of like, hmm, that's interesting.
- 2:13:02Speaker 5: When's that arriving?
- 2:13:05Speaker 3: And then lastly here for the day. I do love
- 2:13:08Speaker 3: these stories, and we've talked about these puzzles, and we
- 2:13:10Speaker 3: talked about these things that dudes and they do and
- 2:13:13Speaker 3: they create these like it's almost like our search or
- 2:13:16Speaker 3: asof thing, right, it's like this.
- 2:13:18Speaker 4: Cryptic kind of public treasure hunting.
- 2:13:21Speaker 3: Kind of like that. Have you ever heard of a
- 2:13:23Speaker 3: thing called cryptose No? I had never heard about this
- 2:13:27Speaker 3: until this day. Until today I read this story. This
- 2:13:30Speaker 3: is an AP story in Boston. It said when Jim
- 2:13:33Speaker 3: Sandborn was commissioned to create a sculpture at CIA headquarters,
- 2:13:38Speaker 3: he wanted to do something that spoke to its world
- 2:13:40Speaker 3: of spies and secret codes. And if you ad to
- 2:13:43Speaker 3: the story, Jack, if you don't look it up on
- 2:13:45Speaker 3: AP and you can put it up on the up
- 2:13:47Speaker 3: on the screen I can get Deb to see it.
- 2:13:48Speaker 3: Just type in the word of cryptos with a K
- 2:13:50Speaker 3: and it should pop up, and you can bring the
- 2:13:52Speaker 3: story up and then put it up on that fourth
- 2:13:53Speaker 3: panel so Deb can see what I'm talking about you
- 2:13:55Speaker 3: as well. By the way, The result was a ten
- 2:13:58Speaker 3: foot tall S shaped copper screen called Cryptos that resembles
- 2:14:03Speaker 3: a piece of paper coming out of a fax machine.
- 2:14:06Speaker 3: One side features a series of staggered alphabets that are
- 2:14:10Speaker 3: key to decoding the four encrypted messages on the other side.
- 2:14:14Speaker 3: Oh wow, this is outside of CIA headquarters. This is
- 2:14:19Speaker 3: At the time codes in encoding was an esoteric subject.
- 2:14:23Speaker 3: I wanted it to be less so, and I wanted
- 2:14:26Speaker 3: it to be fun. So this guy's done this a
- 2:14:28Speaker 3: couple of times. He's actually found other than he's done
- 2:14:31Speaker 3: other like little you know, little you know puzzles like this, right.
- 2:14:36Speaker 3: The interesting thing is is the first three messages there.
- 2:14:39Speaker 3: It is right there on the screen. The first three
- 2:14:42Speaker 3: messages on the sculpture that dedicated to nineteen ninety, known
- 2:14:46Speaker 3: as K one, K two, and K three, were or
- 2:14:49Speaker 3: cracked pretty quickly, but thirty five years later, the fourth
- 2:14:54Speaker 3: cryptic message K four reminds remains a mystery and a
- 2:14:58Speaker 3: source of obsessive fascination among thousands of fans. There's an
- 2:15:03Speaker 3: entire group of people who've been trying to figure this
- 2:15:05Speaker 3: out for years, really for over three decades. They've been
- 2:15:08Speaker 3: trying to figure it out. And that's where the story
- 2:15:10Speaker 3: gets interesting. This guy Sandborn is not doing well health wise,
- 2:15:16Speaker 3: and he's actually going to auction off the solution.
- 2:15:20Speaker 4: To this so he can pay for his medical care. No,
- 2:15:23Speaker 4: it doesn't say for his medical Okay, that's going to
- 2:15:25Speaker 4: say America.
- 2:15:25Speaker 3: And by the way, he kept getting so many email
- 2:15:28Speaker 3: about the solution that he started charging people fifty dollars
- 2:15:32Speaker 3: a pop to ask him a question, really, because that's
- 2:15:35Speaker 3: how often people would email and try to get an
- 2:15:37Speaker 3: answer from him on what's going on?
- 2:15:39Speaker 4: Man, I wish I could ask for fifty every time
- 2:15:41Speaker 4: someone email.
- 2:15:42Speaker 3: It says Boston Base our our auction launched the auction
- 2:15:45Speaker 3: last month. It runs through November twentieth, which is next week,
- 2:15:49Speaker 3: with a top bid currently at and this is the
- 2:15:52Speaker 3: entire archive. Everything he used to build this is in
- 2:15:56Speaker 3: this auction. They're asking two hundred one and forty one
- 2:16:01Speaker 3: dollars and it's not there yet. That's just where it
- 2:16:04Speaker 3: is right now it's become a worldwide phenomenon, and I
- 2:16:08Speaker 3: had no clue what was even there. It says everything
- 2:16:12Speaker 3: you need to solve K four, along with an alternate
- 2:16:15Speaker 3: paragraph that the artist is calling K five will be
- 2:16:18Speaker 3: available in that form in that in that portfolio. Yeah,
- 2:16:23Speaker 3: and by the way, he had to clear it was
- 2:16:24Speaker 3: CIA years ago.
- 2:16:25Speaker 5: I was gonna say, how did CIA feel about an
- 2:16:28Speaker 5: ENCRYPTID message outside their headquarters?
- 2:16:30Speaker 3: Had to show it to the director years ago and
- 2:16:33Speaker 3: their attorneys to make sure that nothing was going to
- 2:16:35Speaker 3: be in there. That was like, it was no secret
- 2:16:37Speaker 3: that could harm national security or anything like that.
- 2:16:40Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 2:16:40Speaker 3: He's created about fifty public sculptures, including a memorial for
- 2:16:44Speaker 3: a twenty nineteen shooting in Odessa, Texas. So he does
- 2:16:47Speaker 3: this all the time, and he actually almost had. It's
- 2:16:50Speaker 3: kind of interesting because in the middle of it, when
- 2:16:52Speaker 3: he was doing all this stuff and kind of figuring
- 2:16:54Speaker 3: this out, a person who was one of these sleuths
- 2:16:58Speaker 3: for this for this puzzle, snapped a picture of some
- 2:17:01Speaker 3: stuff that he had on a desk, and in the
- 2:17:03Speaker 3: picture it was all of his notes describing how he
- 2:17:06Speaker 3: came to the solution. Oh no, and he freaked out.
- 2:17:08Speaker 3: Because he thought it was going to ruin the auction.
- 2:17:11Speaker 3: And it turns out that the person who who took
- 2:17:13Speaker 3: the photograph was cool and didn't wasn't going to say anything,
- 2:17:16Speaker 3: so they able to go forward with it.
- 2:17:18Speaker 4: That is cool.
- 2:17:19Speaker 3: It actually, it's a really cool thing.
- 2:17:21Speaker 16: Man.
- 2:17:21Speaker 3: I don't know what the messages is because it doesn't
- 2:17:23Speaker 3: say here at all. It just says that K four
- 2:17:25Speaker 3: and K five are still still looking for an answer
- 2:17:30Speaker 3: and answer.
- 2:17:30Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 2:17:30Speaker 3: Yeah. It says it was designed to unravel like a
- 2:17:33Speaker 3: ball of string or a nesting Russian doll. Kind of cool,
- 2:17:39Speaker 3: all right, four seven nine four one text us at

- 2:19:39Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, no, maybe I stopped it after chapter one
- 2:19:43Speaker 7: because that was our Assignment.
- 2:19:44Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 2:19:44Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know if I got weird after that,
- 2:19:47Speaker 3: but I know it's just I rolled through like three
- 2:19:49Speaker 3: of them because I just wanted to keep watching it.
- 2:19:51Speaker 3: So next thing, I know, I just saw a little
- 2:19:52Speaker 3: thing that said chapter three I didn't like. I didn't

- 2:20:39Speaker 5: All Right, more details about last week's tragic car crash
- 2:20:42Speaker 5: and Ybor City are coming into focus. For we're killed,
- 2:20:45Speaker 5: more than a dozen, a dozen injured, and now we
- 2:20:48Speaker 5: know that two of those who are hospitalized were students
- 2:20:51Speaker 5: at Marjorie Stone and Douglas High School in twenty eighteen
- 2:20:55Speaker 5: when seventeen of their classmates died in the mass shooting.
- 2:20:58Speaker 5: Bob Dietrich is the father of Connor and Brandon Dietrich,
- 2:21:01Speaker 5: and he tells ten Tampa Bay it's unfortunate that his
- 2:21:04Speaker 5: son has to deal with yet another trauma.
- 2:21:07Speaker 25: He's never opened up to us about that, and I
- 2:21:09Speaker 25: was afraid we're going to have the same kind of
- 2:21:10Speaker 25: an issue with this, but surprisingly you can see it
- 2:21:14Speaker 25: in his eyes. He's struggling, but he's talking, which is
- 2:21:18Speaker 25: that's the most important thing he can do.
- 2:21:20Speaker 5: Connor, usf graduate, remains hospitalized at Saint Joseph's. He and
- 2:21:25Speaker 5: his brother, along with their longtime friend Riley, were outside
- 2:21:28Speaker 5: Bradley's last Friday when a car driven by Silas Sampson
- 2:21:31Speaker 5: plowed into the crowd at a high rate of speed.
- 2:21:33Speaker 5: Speed Suspect Silas Sampson has a court date tomorrow.
- 2:21:37Speaker 12: All right today.
- 2:21:38Speaker 4: It did turn out to be true.
- 2:21:40Speaker 5: Residents in the Spring Ridge Estates neighborhood in Eustace were finally.
- 2:21:43Speaker 4: Allowed back in their home.
- 2:21:46Speaker 5: Yes, twenty one homes were evacuated at the end of
- 2:21:49Speaker 5: October after that historic rainfall washed out the only roadway
- 2:21:53Speaker 5: to get to their properties. Eustace Fire Chief Mike Swanson
- 2:21:57Speaker 5: said all of the water and power has been restored
- 2:21:59Speaker 5: to the properties, and while residents are able to walk
- 2:22:02Speaker 5: over this portion of the roadway, they're still not able
- 2:22:05Speaker 5: to drive over it as yet.
- 2:22:07Speaker 4: Emergency vehicles can.
- 2:22:09Speaker 5: Chief Swanson said the goal is to have the bridge
- 2:22:11Speaker 5: completely opened up by Thanksgiving, and they think with their
- 2:22:14Speaker 5: construction and where they're at, they're going to be able
- 2:22:16Speaker 5: to make that happen. Sweet and then finally, a New
- 2:22:18Speaker 5: Mexico man charged in a double homicide told deputies a
- 2:22:22Speaker 5: cockroach told him to kill the Bernardillo County Sheriff's office
- 2:22:28Speaker 5: as twenty five year old Alexis Hernandez was charged with
- 2:22:31Speaker 5: two open counts of murder in connection with a Friday
- 2:22:33Speaker 5: incident inside a home southwest of Albuquerque. The man allegedly
- 2:22:37Speaker 5: said he received quote an encrypted message inside.
- 2:22:41Speaker 3: A cockroach got him mighty man.
- 2:22:43Speaker 5: End quote that he needed to kill Hernandez then said
- 2:22:46Speaker 5: he did quote what he had.

- 2:23:31Speaker 3: Jack question of today in our YouTube chat.
- 2:23:34Speaker 7: It stems from the conversation about the government doing away
- 2:23:37Speaker 7: with a penny.
- 2:23:37Speaker 3: It's how much cash do you usually carry?
- 2:23:40Speaker 7: And the choices were under twenty dollars between twenty and fifty,
- 2:23:44Speaker 7: fifty one to one hundred or more than that?
- 2:23:47Speaker 3: What do you think is the most popular answer? I
- 2:23:50Speaker 3: think most people have like twenty to fifty bucks on them,
- 2:23:53Speaker 3: like I would, whatever the choice that is. That was second.
- 2:23:56Speaker 3: Twenty to fifty came with thirty percent.
- 2:23:59Speaker 7: Fifty percent of the people responding said under twenty dollars
- 2:24:03Speaker 7: in cat unbelievable. Just ten percent between fifty to one
- 2:24:07Speaker 7: hundred and ten percent more than one hundred.
- 2:24:09Speaker 3: Yeah, that's crazy. I thought it'd be a little bit
- 2:24:12Speaker 3: more than that. Man, I don't know why.
- 2:24:14Speaker 7: Well, you're looking at eighty percent of the respondence are
- 2:24:18Speaker 7: fifty dollars or less?
