Newsom’s Gun Grab Backfires plus Day Two of SAA Fight-Dems Dig In & Republicans Take the Offensive · The 47 Morning Update with Ben Ferguson

Speaker 1: I've heard some analysts say that Iran could have had
• 0:03
Speaker 1: a functioning intercontinental missile to threaten the United States in
• 0:07
Speaker 1: as few as six months.
• 0:08
Speaker 2: Would you agree with that assessment.
• 0:10
Speaker 1: If left unimpeded, yes, a Senator, they would have the
• 0:14
Speaker 1: ability to range missiles to the continental US. It's one
• 0:19
Speaker 1: of the reasons why degrading Iran's missile production capabilities that
• 0:24
Speaker 1: is taking place right now in the Operation Epic Fury,
• 0:28
Speaker 1: is so important to our national security.
• 0:30
Speaker 3: You're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben ferguson.
• 0:34
Speaker 4: Good Thursday morning nights to have you with us on
• 0:36
Speaker 4: the forty seven Morning Updated, and we've got two.
• 0:38
Speaker 2: Big stories for you.
• 0:40
Speaker 4: First up, California forced to pay one point three million
• 0:43
Speaker 4: in legal fees after an unconstituitial gun ad ban, yet
• 0:49
Speaker 4: another costly mistake by the Governor Newsom. And in Washington,
• 0:53
Speaker 4: it's day three of the Save Act fight. It's underway
• 0:56
Speaker 4: and Republicans well, they're fighting harder than ever for election integrity.
• 1:02
Speaker 4: But before we get to that, I want to take
• 1:04
Speaker 4: a moment and ask you to help the people in Israel.
• 1:07
Speaker 4: With my friends at the IFCJ working right now on
• 1:10
Speaker 4: the ground for all those in need, having just come
• 1:13
Speaker 4: back from Israel. I want to paint you a picture.
• 1:16
Speaker 4: It's midnight, sirens are blearing and you have only seconds
• 1:20
Speaker 4: to grab your child and run. Now imagine your elderly.
• 1:24
Speaker 4: Your legs don't work like they used to. Getting downstairs
• 1:27
Speaker 4: feels impossible, and after all of that, you end up
• 1:30
Speaker 4: in a bomb shelter for hours, even days, because you
• 1:33
Speaker 4: can't make the trek again. This is what's happening across
• 1:37
Speaker 4: Israel as Operation Epic Fury continues. Children are being traumatized,
• 1:42
Speaker 4: families are just exhausted, and homes have been destroyed. And
• 1:47
Speaker 4: that's why the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews is
• 1:50
Speaker 4: there on the ground, bringing food, emergency equipment, care for
• 1:55
Speaker 4: those children, and help for the elderly, and supplying the
• 1:59
Speaker 4: bomb shelter and medical centers for critically needed essentials. If
• 2:03
Speaker 4: you've ever wondered what it looks like to stand for
• 2:05
Speaker 4: Israel and stand for good against evil, this is it.
• 2:09
Speaker 4: And that's why I'm asking to now please act, give
• 2:12
Speaker 4: forty five dollars right now to rush life saving essentials
• 2:16
Speaker 4: to the vulnerables under fire. You can also call eight
• 2:20
Speaker 4: eight eight for eight eight IFCJ. That's eight eight eight
• 2:25
Speaker 4: for eight eight IFCJ, join me and give and make
• 2:29
Speaker 4: a real difference online at IFCJ dot org.
• 2:33
Speaker 2: That's IFCJ dot org.
• 2:36
Speaker 4: It's the forty seven Morning Update and it starts right
• 2:39
Speaker 4: now story number one. With so much happening in Iran
• 2:42
Speaker 4: and also so much happening with fraud and abuse in America,
• 2:46
Speaker 4: there have been some stories that have been overlooked that
• 2:48
Speaker 4: need your attention. One of them was a big victory
• 2:53
Speaker 4: for the Second Amendment in California. Now, this was a
• 2:58
Speaker 4: case that no one was covering, and it should be
• 3:01
Speaker 4: covered because on Tuesday, California agreed to a settlement with
• 3:07
Speaker 4: a Second Amendment Foundation and the Firearms Policy Coalition as
• 3:11
Speaker 4: well as many other plaintiffs. And they are now going
• 3:14
Speaker 4: to pay the state of California over one point three
• 3:19
Speaker 4: million to cover the plaintiffs' attorney fees alone. Now, this
• 3:24
Speaker 4: all is from a settlement that came from a lawsuit
• 3:27
Speaker 4: that was filed against California's Marketing Firearms to Miners law,
• 3:33
Speaker 4: which crossed in the First Amendment territory by banning firearm advertisements.
• 3:39
Speaker 2: Now, this is something.
• 3:40
Speaker 4: That we were expected to see happen all over the
• 3:43
Speaker 4: country in liberal states if California would have gotten away
• 3:46
Speaker 4: with us. What they're trying to do is bankrupt and
• 3:49
Speaker 4: shut down as many gun stores as possible, and it's
• 3:53
Speaker 4: a way to ban firearms. And so they said that
• 3:55
Speaker 4: you can't market your firearms store or your brio in
• 4:00
Speaker 4: California because they said it was marketing to miners by default. Now,
• 4:05
Speaker 4: the Ninth Circuit judge there by the last name Lee,
• 4:10
Speaker 4: September twenty twenty three, majority opinion against the law. He wrote, quote,
• 4:15
Speaker 4: the marketing firearms to minor law does not directly and
• 4:19
Speaker 4: materially advanced California's substantial interest in reducing gun violence and
• 4:24
Speaker 4: the unlawful use of firearms by miners. There was, in fact,
• 4:28
Speaker 4: no evidence in the record that a miner in California
• 4:31
Speaker 4: has ever unlawfully bought a gun let alone because of
• 4:35
Speaker 4: an ad. Now translation, what they were saying as they
• 4:39
Speaker 4: were trying to shut down the Second Amendment and this
• 4:42
Speaker 4: and doing it through advertising, is they were saying, well,
• 4:45
Speaker 4: you're marketing to kids.
• 4:46
  Speaker 2: And a great.
• 4:46
Speaker 4: Example of this would be like what we saw with
• 4:49
Speaker 4: alcohol and tobacco, when it was clear they were marketing
• 4:52
Speaker 4: to kids you remember Joe Cammell with Camel's cigarettes and
• 4:57
Speaker 4: then you could like get points out of the packs
• 4:59
Speaker 4: and then I you know, merchandise. It was like Joe Cammell,
• 5:03
Speaker 4: Like I remember having a Joe Cammel hat and I
• 5:06
Speaker 4: was not old enough to smoke. I remember it being
• 5:08
Speaker 4: like cool to have that kind of stuff. And they
• 5:11
Speaker 4: were clearly marketing with cartoon characters like Joe Cammell was
• 5:15
Speaker 4: a cartoon character. They were obviously marketing to kids. So
• 5:19
Speaker 4: they got rid of that, but they didn't say you
• 5:21
Speaker 4: couldn't advertise in general. Well, California was like, no, no,
• 5:24
Speaker 4: you just can't advertise. If we say that your advertisements
• 5:27
Speaker 4: could have could make kids want to buy it, right, like,
• 5:31
Speaker 4: that's insane. And it was a way for them to
• 5:34
Speaker 4: shut down the Second Amendment and basically get rid of
• 5:37
Speaker 4: it in gun sales in essence in California. When the
• 5:41
Speaker 4: judge looked at this, he said, look, there's this is absurd.
• 5:44
Speaker 4: There is no evidence that a minor in California has
• 5:47
Speaker 4: ever gone out and unlawfully bought a gun in a
• 5:49
Speaker 4: gun store, and especially because of an ad they saw
• 5:53
Speaker 4: for a gun manufacturer or a gun store.
• 5:56
Speaker 2: We also added this.
• 5:58
Speaker 4: California cannot straight jacket the First Amendment by on the
• 6:02
Speaker 4: one hand, allowing miners to possess and use firearms and
• 6:05
Speaker 4: then on the other hand, banning truthful advertisements about the
• 6:10
Speaker 4: lawful use of a firearm. The First Amendment Policy Coalition
• 6:15
Speaker 4: went in and they fought this hard. They fought it,
• 6:19
Speaker 4: and everybody was talking about this, like, wow, there it's California.
• 6:21
Speaker 2: They probably going to lose. Guess what. They announced the
• 6:24
  Speaker 2: settlement on X.
• 6:25
Speaker 4: Writing this after losing twice at the Ninth Circuit, you
• 6:29
Speaker 4: know they're very liberal.
• 6:29
Speaker 2: The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals is very very liberal.
• 6:33
Speaker 4: California has agreed that it's minor firearm advertising ban violates
• 6:39
Speaker 4: the First Amendment and they will pay the plaintiffs the
• 6:42
Speaker 4: one million, three hundred and eighty one thousand, seven forty
• 6:46
Speaker 4: nine dollars and seventy two cents for the attorney's fees.
• 6:50
Speaker 4: The Second Amendment Foundation also posted this about the Governor
• 6:54
Speaker 4: Gavin Newsom, saying, quote, Gavin Newsom passed a law to
• 6:57
Speaker 4: attack the First Amendment because he would mad about a
• 7:01
Speaker 4: twenty two long rifle that was meant for junior shooters.
• 7:06
Speaker 4: That little stunt has cost California taxpayers over a million dollars,
• 7:11
Speaker 4: not including whatever California Department of Justice spent on their
• 7:15
Speaker 4: own lawyers, three hundred and fifty thousand to saf five
• 7:19
Speaker 4: hundred and fifty thousand to CRPA coalition of playmiffs in
• 7:23
Speaker 4: the same lawsuit, and another four hundred and eighty thousand
• 7:27
Speaker 4: to the Safari Club International case on the same issues.
• 7:30
Speaker 4: So this all stem from Gavenwsom being angry that their
• 7:35
Speaker 4: parents out there that could buy a twenty two rifle
• 7:38
Speaker 4: that is meant for junior shooters.
• 7:39
Speaker 2: By the way, I have one for all three of
• 7:43
  Speaker 2: my kids.
• 7:43
Speaker 4: If I'm not mistaken, and I got a twenty two
• 7:46
Speaker 4: rifle when I was a kid. It's made smaller for
• 7:48
Speaker 4: you as a kid. Now does that mean I own
• 7:50
Speaker 4: the gun? Yes, I own it for my kids. My
• 7:52
Speaker 4: kids don't own that gun. Is it their present of courses?
• 7:55
Speaker 4: Is it in my possession?
• 7:56
Speaker 2: Yes? Is in my my Is it locked up in
• 7:59
  Speaker 2: my say? Yes?
• 8:00
Speaker 4: Like if you're a saying human being, you understand kids guns.
• 8:04
Speaker 4: By the way, a four to ten shotgun that my
• 8:07
Speaker 4: kid has that that is mine. It's for him to
• 8:09
Speaker 4: use when we go hunting. It is They're not advertising
• 8:13
Speaker 4: or marketing to him to go by by himself. And
• 8:16
Speaker 4: everyone knows this like this is normal, it's not sane.
• 8:19
Speaker 4: And what Gavin Newsom did is he decided to lose
• 8:22
Speaker 4: his every loving mind and said, oh, you're marketing to
• 8:25
Speaker 4: these kids, and you're and you're advertising these kids, and
• 8:29
Speaker 4: so we're going to ban it so that you can't
• 8:30
Speaker 4: advertise at all in the state of California. Well that
• 8:35
Speaker 4: is now back fired massively. It took deep pockets, by
• 8:39
Speaker 4: the way by these groups to be able to fight this.
• 8:41
Speaker 2: Thank goodness they did.
• 8:43
Speaker 4: And it's also I think sending a very clear message
• 8:45
Speaker 4: to any other state in the country that's that's thinking
• 8:47
Speaker 4: about doing the same thing the California did. In California
• 8:49
Speaker 4: was a test case that you will lose and this
• 8:52
Speaker 4: will be a failure. So this is one of those stories.
• 8:56
Speaker 4: I say, God bless America and God bless those that
• 8:59
Speaker 4: have not been getting any media attention that actually did this.
• 9:02
Speaker 4: Like this is incredible, all right, and I love that
• 9:06
Speaker 4: there are people that are brave enough to fight these
• 9:08
Speaker 4: wars the way that they just did. Gavin Newsom getting
• 9:11
Speaker 4: slapped on the hand hard. This is a victory for
• 9:15
Speaker 4: the second Amendment. It's also a victory for First Amendment
• 9:18
Speaker 4: right of free speech as well, and I wanted you
• 9:20
Speaker 4: to know about it.
• 9:22
Speaker 3: Now. Story number two, Day.
• 9:24
Speaker 4: Two has already happened of the save AC fight in
• 9:26
Speaker 4: the United States Senate, And make no mistake about it,
• 9:29
Speaker 4: it's exactly the fight President Donald Trump wanted. After forcing
• 9:34
Speaker 4: the bill into the Senate floor, Republicans have now moved
• 9:37
Speaker 4: into full debate mode and that alone is a major victory.
• 9:41
Speaker 4: Why you may ask, well, because for the first time
• 9:44
Speaker 4: in a long time, election integrity is not being whispered about.
• 9:49
Speaker 4: It's being debated front and center on the Senate floor,
• 9:53
Speaker 4: and it is heated. And today the pressure turned up dramatically.
• 9:58
Speaker 4: President Trump is not sitting on this sidelines either. He
• 10:01
Speaker 4: is leading this charge. He made it crystal clear to
• 10:05
Speaker 4: Republicans in Washington, this is our defining moment. This is
• 10:09
Speaker 4: not just another bill, another issue, another thing that you
• 10:13
Speaker 4: should talk about and move on from. The President made
• 10:17
Speaker 4: it clear saying this is about the future of American elections. Now,
• 10:22
Speaker 4: behind the scenes, we also know the White House is
• 10:24
Speaker 4: going into overdrive. In fact, President Trump himself is working
• 10:28
Speaker 4: the phones, talking to lawmakers and making it known that
• 10:32
Speaker 4: this legislation is his first priority.
• 10:36
Speaker 2: It's not optional. As how I was.
• 10:38
Speaker 4: Described by one at the White House who told me,
• 10:40
Speaker 4: the President is willing to sit down with any Republican
• 10:43
Speaker 4: he needs to to explain to them exactly how important
• 10:47
  Speaker 4: this moment is.
• 10:49
  Speaker 2: Now.
• 10:49
Speaker 4: The message coming from the White House is simple and
• 10:51
Speaker 4: also powerful. Only American citizens should decide American elections.
• 10:58
Speaker 2: It's not a radical idea at all.
• 11:00
Speaker 4: And in fact, the polling numbers show that overwhelmingly the
• 11:03
Speaker 4: majority of Americans, whether you're Republican, Democrat, or independent, support
• 11:08
Speaker 4: that exact language that the President use saying only American
• 11:12
Speaker 4: citizens should decide American elections. And Republicans they're finally stepping
• 11:19
Speaker 4: up on day two. GOP leaders are not backing down,
• 11:23
Speaker 4: thank goodness. They're even going on offense, and they're using
• 11:27
Speaker 4: this debate to draw one of the clearest contrasts we've
• 11:29
Speaker 4: seen in years between the two parties. Republicans are saying,
• 11:34
Speaker 4: this is common sense, requiring proof of citizenship and requiring
• 11:39
Speaker 4: voter ID to protect the integrity of.
• 11:42
Speaker 2: The ballot box. That's it.
• 11:44
Speaker 4: The clearest talking points we've seen on an issue in
• 11:47
Speaker 4: a very long time. And what's happening today is just
• 11:50
Speaker 4: as important politically as it is legislatively. Republicans are now
• 11:55
Speaker 4: forcing every Democrat in Washington to take a position, all
• 12:00
Speaker 4: on the record in front of the American people now.
• 12:04
Speaker 4: Because the Republicans are unified and pushing forward. You guessed it,
• 12:08
Speaker 4: Democrats are doing the exact same thing. They're lining up
• 12:12
Speaker 4: in total opposition. Every single Democrat is digging in trying
• 12:17
Speaker 4: to block this bill, refusing to support these voter integrity
• 12:21
Speaker 4: measures altogether. And Republicans are making sure that voters see
• 12:26
Speaker 4: that contrast loud and clear going into the midterms, even
• 12:30
Speaker 4: before a final vote, Republicans have already achieved something significant.
• 12:35
Speaker 4: They've made election integrity one of the biggest issues in
• 12:37
Speaker 4: the country again. They've taken it out of the shadows
• 12:41
Speaker 4: and put it right at the center of the national
• 12:43
Speaker 4: conversation thanks to President Trump. And that's not by accident.
• 12:48
Speaker 4: This was President Trump's strategy all along. That's about defining
• 12:52
Speaker 4: the future of our elections. It's also about defining the
• 12:56
Speaker 4: next election. And tonight, as three comes at us, the
• 13:01
Speaker 4: reality is clear. President Trump has turned the Save Act
• 13:05
Speaker 4: into a national showdown. Republicans finally are unified. They're even
• 13:11
Speaker 4: energized on the four of the Senate and finally on offense,
• 13:15
Speaker 4: and Democrats are being forced to defend their impossible position
• 13:21
Speaker 4: in front of the American people that they want people
• 13:24
Speaker 4: from outside the country who are not American citizens to
• 13:27
Speaker 4: vote in our elections.
• 13:29
  Speaker 2: Now.
• 13:30
Speaker 4: To be clear, this fight is far from over. In fact,
• 13:34
Speaker 4: it's just getting started. For one thing that is already clear,
• 13:38
Speaker 4: the battle over election integrity is now front and center
• 13:41
Speaker 4: in America and it's not going away anytime soon.
