- Lynn: Hello and welcome to tonight's episode of the Occultinarium. are the voices ⁓ the Occultinarium ⁓ tonight's hosts ⁓ Luigi: Luigi Amelie: Amelie Lynn: and Lynn. welcome. I was just, I'm laughing because like in our wonderful app that we're, or our platform that we're using, ⁓ it subtitles sometimes. And somehow Amelie always is "Am I late". So just ⁓ when you yourself, I was like, she's late again. ⁓ Luigi: Get it right Gemini Amelie: I'm late. The last one I edited, I was family. Lynn: It was me though who was late. Family, yes, I've seen this. today's episode, we are in the spirit. Today's we are our witchy hats again, which is almost a tradition for ⁓ our ⁓ episodes ⁓ the festivals and the ⁓ seasonal ⁓ And are nearing Beltane. ⁓ or May Day. that will be the big topic ⁓ tonight. As we're going to draw a ⁓ card, tarot card to reveal at the end. Amelie has the honor tonight and we chose a slightly possibly saucy deck for ⁓ the occasion. mean, ⁓ yeah, Beltane. Luigi: Yeah Lynn: There's much to say about it. We can also talk a little bit about Valpurgis, obviously we have to talk about that. And ⁓ Day, which is starting summer season. Officially, here Norway, traditionally Goddess Summer's Day is on the 20th ⁓ of April. So it's the first official day summer. And we're still in April. mean, I think it's just a European thing in general that April days can be like the weather can be so unpredictable and crazy. I you know, yesterday we had it was 10 plus, but we had snow and we had ⁓ wind like tornado Not true, but it was really, really strong. And today I ⁓ woke up It's a Sunday today. I woke up with my bed and the walls shaking and I don't know what is going on. was a bloody earthquake. mean, I just woke up, know, I was like, what is this? I've never experienced it myself before. Right. I was like, OK. And it started. It subsided while I was like, I was like awake and it was just and I'm used to people detonating things as in Norway or in the Scandics. It's very normal that. Luigi: Mmm. Ha No way! Lynn: You know, we have a lot of rocks and then, you know, people detonate them when they build. But then they always have an alarm and it's different because it's just boom. And then you feel like a slight, a slight shake. But this was like rumble, rumble, rumble, rumble, rumble, rumble. Yeah. And I like, what? And I looked at my cat, you know, because he's sleeping with me. My cat, you know, was unfazed. My dog wasn't crying out there. I'm like, I'm getting like I'm up. I'm looking out the window. I was expecting sirens. And because I didn't know. Luigi: Yeah, yeah. ⁓ my goodness. Lynn: what was happening and you sometimes we get these ⁓ not sure the mudslides or like you know and then you know people have to be relocated and I didn't know at this point where it was how close it was ⁓ so just looking outside and there was nobody was panicking no sirens nothing I'm like I'm not imagining this am I? ⁓ So went on Google and was like earthquake Oslo it's like yes so it was ⁓ it was almost a strength of four Luigi: Mm. Hahaha Lynn: apparently it was building up first and I didn't, I was sleeping through the build up. I was just waking up when it was at the highest and then it went down. But it was, yeah, it was just ⁓ And then everybody in town was talking about it. People in town were talking about it. We to a Hanami. It was the first time I remember. ⁓ might, when was a child maybe, but I do not recall anything like that. So when I've, you know, never been in regions. ⁓ Luigi: That was your first time experiencing it. Lynn: for long enough where there are like earthquakes or like you know an ice then you get like plates and stuff but so that was like and i felt like ⁓ Amelie: I didn't even think it was possible to have earthquakes in Norway for some reason. I never thought about that. Lynn: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. mean, right where we are in Oslo, are not apparently not on like tectonic plates that are like, you know, but it's it was 60 kilometers out of Oslo between Sweden and Norway somewhere closer to the airport. Yeah. So that's nature at its fullest. experiencing it with my whole body today. ⁓ I mean, it could have, you know, so so that was a Luigi: Wowzers Amelie: Yes! Lynn: great introduction that time where ⁓ nature like BAM! And I was like... Yeah, yeah, yeah, was just a four, you know? But I was like... my goodness. Luigi: I'm glad you're okay though. No, but it's unsettling, isn't it? Because it's like we take for granted how stable the ground is and how safe it makes us feel, isn't it? But when you get that shake, because I've only experienced it once, and I was also a flat on the first or second floor, so I wasn't even on ground, ground. You know what I mean? I was like on pretended ground. ⁓ Lynn: Yes. Mmm, yeah. Mm-hmm. Mm. Mmm. Mm. Luigi: And I remember feeling shaken because I was like, oh, I'm gonna fall, I'm gonna fall and I'm gonna die. I was also very young, I was like 17, so maybe had a bit of an overreaction, because to your point, nobody else reacted. Well, they did, they were like talking about it, but nobody panicked. And I guess it's the first experience effect, isn't it? Lynn: No. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's just so strange because if you're like me, just waking up, it's like, is it a dream? Like, what is this? And then, but then, you know, I could still feel it. I'm like, you know, what is it? Is it war? Is it? ⁓ my gosh. Luigi: At the same time though, because you're very lucky because you have your companions, your familiars, and if they're no bother, that's already like clue number one, everything is, I think everything is fine. Lynn: I suppose, yeah. But everybody, like my friends that I met today, they're also like, yeah, did your animals not say, like, did they not notify? Like, I heard that animals are really good at notifying. I'm like, are sleeping. ⁓ I know, actually, my dog, actually, now that you've mentioned that, my dog actually had thrown up through the night. I don't know when exactly, so maybe. But yeah, but. Luigi: They went on break. Lynn: He wasn't crying or anything, I don't know. Well, so much to that. Amelie: But the weather, I find the weather during this time always, I always remember that the worst kind of like thunders and lightnings are normally during this time when the weather can't decide if it's hot or cold and then it kind of like, you can feel the tension and it gets really muggy and then you get like a proper like a thunderstorm suddenly and they're normally really loud. Lynn: Mmm. I miss those. Amelie: Me too, there haven't been any up here and it's very strange. It is just so nice once they happen and everything just feels so much lighter. Lynn: Yeah, I think I have this, mean, I'm, you know, no connection to geologists or anything like that. But just like from like traditions and stuff, I have this feeling that they used to be like there might have been some sort of shift. There used to be more thunderstorms ⁓ because is also like here in the Scandics ⁓ in think it is in the in March, in the month, there is a tradition that to with the first the first thunderstorm or the first thumb that happens being extremely important for the fertility of the year, in the beliefs. So they're some traditions around that. we don't even, like we don't get any thunderstorms in the periods where you're actually sowing stuff and trying to make it fertile. ⁓ Maybe in Yeah, ⁓ possibly. ⁓ Amelie: It's nature saying that we are very unnatural. Nature is like, look guys, you're not doing that anymore. So yeah. Lynn: Yeah. ⁓ You're off, off, off. Yeah. Yeah, possible. Luigi: You ruined me. Is they just saying I have no business here anymore? Lynn: Ugh, no no. are important. mean, still, like, apparently, you know, we get the same amount of lightning because ⁓ I know exactly how it works, but we do get the same amount of lightning all the time around the Earth because there's a way to... my god, I don't ⁓ know what is exactly. Please tell me what it is if you know. But something about balance and it has to with... Amelie: Yeah. Lynn: whatever I don't remember. We have the material, yeah meteorologists know this, but apparently that's always the same amount of thunders and lightnings on the earth it's just that we in the north don't get so many of them and people further down they get the whole bit. Yeah. Luigi: We need to become a meteorologist. Hmm. I guess that makes sense. Amelie: Someone stole something. Lynn: someone's, yes, it's Thor's hammer, you know, he left. Luigi: Hahaha Amelie: He, he, was something wrong with his GPS GPS. Yes. Lynn: ⁓ that, yeah, he threw the hammer too far, it never came back. Or he relocated. He's like, no, I'm gonna go to the south. my god, yeah. We are jolly today, that's also perfectly in the spirit. ⁓ talk a little bit about this amazing time of the year. I mean, we alluded to it, nature is... Luigi: Yeah Amelie: Yes. Luigi: East-East-South Amelie: Hahaha! Luigi: Hahaha Lynn: coming to its full force, the nature inside of us as well. We're getting like there's all this energy and ⁓ it has a lot to do with fertility and while getting this whole process out into the world. we a tradition like Beltane traditionally that is the celebration of the first of May, the first May Day also called May Day ⁓ English. But ⁓ the night that. also important in many traditions and we call it valpurgis, well valpurgis, nots. ⁓ Amelie: Valdbors mest so avton in Swedish, which is basically the same thing. Lynn: Yeah, the same thing, right? And it has been connected with all the witchiness, like the full force of witchy shenanigans that you can think would happen at ⁓ night of Alpudegis, where like all the witches, the biggest witches Sabbath, ⁓ all the witches get together and then, you know... When the Christians got scared of us, they had all these ideas that we fornicate with the devil on the hills and the mountains and having a lot of fun. And we do have a lot of fun. like riding the broomsticks, whole came also from Valpouriges. And that ⁓ one of witch friends has told me about that, that apparently it might be. Luigi: Yeah Lynn: It might be true, people might have been riding their broomsticks, but not the way that we think across the sky. some sort of, mean, know, fornication. But there some sort of lube thing that they put on the end of the sticks that also gave you hallucinatory effect. Do you know about this, Luigi? Because you're nodding. And that's the, you know. ⁓ Luigi: Yeah, yeah, yeah, like I don't know if you guys have ever come across that it might be a controversial film. I like the film, but I know that it does a disservice to the figure of the witch somewhat. You know, the film, the witch, the one that came out, I think 2015, think done. So I don't want to spoil too much, but exactly what you're describing. Lynn: Mm. I haven't seen it yet, I must see it, yes. Mmm. Luigi: I forgot the term and I might have to look up the term because I know you said ⁓ lube or lotion but there's an actual term for it like ⁓ something with a j with a j sound but basically the idea was that the I mean I don't know how truthful the idea is but that's depicted in the film ⁓ lotion let's call it but we'll find the proper word in a bit was a lucenoid Lynn: Yeah, something, yeah. J-j-j-jerms. Luigi: was ⁓ inducing visions. So it would be wrapped around the stuff of the broomstick. Sometimes it would be a broom, sometimes it would just be a stuff and that's it. And then women would have a jolly good time ⁓ the broomstick, ⁓ physically and ⁓ and whatnot. ⁓ the idea of flying, again I'm not saying that this is the sum of all parts, but there is this story, there is this theory, there is this record. Lynn: Right? Mm. Mm. Mm-hmm, yeah. Yeah. Luigi: some of the ideas of the witching taking flights came from this fun time, ⁓ ⁓ these visions and these, I don't want use the word hallucinations, ⁓ you know, metaphysical experience. ⁓ Lynn: Mm, mm. Amelie: It was like the witches ayahuasca. Lynn: Yeah, yes, for sure. except for we don't have any recordings of people getting really sick and, you know, vomiting. So it's probably maybe the better or the slightly less harrowing effect of drugs. Yeah, they seem to have a lot of fun. So, yeah, so fertility and sexual activities, it's full of it. Already in summer stay, which is... Luigi: Yes! Amelie: They had more fun, the witches. Lynn: the 20th of April here in the Scandix, which is marks the first day of summer, used to be a tradition where if the harvest had not been good the previous years, they would send a young couple out on the fields ⁓ to have on the fields. ⁓ In I there are these stones that have like a hollow in it and they call them, I believe it's like elf. group or something like ⁓ hollows it was a big rock with like a little ⁓ cup hollow in it and then they would like they try get the semen onto this you know little hollow and it would also take the semen and then knead it into the grains that they want to sew for the coming year yeah ⁓ and ⁓ yeah lovely ⁓ have Amelie: Lovely. Lynn: That's the fertile. And yeah, and I mean, that is even stronger than on the Valkuriges where you have lots traditions of like, well, the May Queen and the May King or the May Count and couples to also go into the woods and do the good for the entire night. ⁓ Luigi: That's Yeah It's very spicy season. Lynn: It's the spicest of seasons. Yes. Yeah, that is is what Valkpurgis has has a lot of faces. I ⁓ want to I don't want to monologue, monologize here if you have particular that you that you that you wanted to to say about it. Amelie: think still like the tradition in Sweden of valborgsmeddelsafton ⁓ in the modern days, it is still a pretty like, how to say, like debauchery almost. Many times it is when young people Lynn: Mmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Amelie: are really drunk for the first time. it sounds, it sounds a bit, it's, it, is like, it has this kind of, I don't know if it has something to do with, you know, but because obviously it's at night and you light this really, really big fire and you always do that late at night. So Lynn: Mm. Amelie: town and city they have somewhere where they do have this really, really big fire and everyone gathers there and they dance and drink and have the good old time, even, you know, in the, ⁓ now in modern days. So, and obviously this kind of leads to a lot of like young people getting really drunk and, you know, just Absolute mayhem sometimes depending on I guess where you are. I mean I haven't been in Sweden for so long I actually don't know what they do in the UK because in London I feel like no one does anything because everyone is like stuck in a city or something but also I know that this whole fire thing is about because in because in Poland they love killing Because remember like when we talk about Ostara, they were drowning their goddess and now they're burning the goddess, Rana, burning her. This is the thing. This is the thing. So when Christianity came about, they kind of like, like they like doing to take things apart and Lynn: Right. Yes. Wow. It sounds like witch trials. It sounds like witch trials actually. Witch testing. Drowning, burning. Amelie: put it into something that is not. So the whole fire thing was, they basically said like, ⁓ it's like burning the witches, burning of the witches. You know, because that's what they did. mean, so, Lynn: Yeah. I mean, yeah, I mean, there's also as far as I know, like the the whole maypole and pole traditions used to actually happen on Valkyries the night before. But we're doing them now on the actual May Day now. Amelie: Hehehehehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehhehheh Lynn: And also that is very like frolicking and very, you know, the pole is the whole, the fallows, right? And then we having this ring that all the women sit together for the whole day and they're making this large ring out of like leaves and branches and stuff. And then we have this whole, now on May Day on Beltane, you have this whole thing that all the women will like run away with a big ring and then the men will have the long pole and they run after and there's this whole chase and everybody's like screaming and woohoo, woohoo, everything. is fun they're trying to get the pole into the ring but they cannot you know it can't be just like easy you know you have to like fight for it and then when it finally happens it's like and then ⁓ erect the pole after you put it through the hole ⁓ erect it and then you have ⁓ Luigi: Enjoy. Lynn: Yoohoo Joy! And then you have all these, we usually have all these, what are they called? Streamers? Yeah, the ribbons from the top and then we will do like a jolly dance around the pole where you can weave and weave and weave and I love it. It's the best. It's so much fun. Yes. Luigi: or the ribbons. It's so much fun. Yeah. There's so many traditions with this season. I guess with every season, not to make it the main one or the protagonist, but I guess because it's a season of life, isn't it? Like nature has fully, allegedly, like it's always tricky because we're talking about these beautiful rituals and ceremonies and passages of time in the ways that they have been taught. Lynn: Mm. Mm. Luigi: to us and pass down to us, but whether it's the climate crisis and whatnot, doesn't necessarily ⁓ longer reflect the conditions that we see out there right now, isn't it? So it's always tricky to, you you can explain it, you can tell about it, and you can still act it out, but it doesn't necessarily reflect any further or any longer rather than. Lynn: Mm. Mm. Luigi: climatic conditions of the period of time when they were created, if that makes sense. Lynn: Yeah. It really depends on where you live. I'm really lucky and happy that in Norway, or where I live right now, it's pretty much pretty accurate. like right ⁓ is out of its shell. have the sprigs on the trees and it's starting to grow and we have all this really beautiful fresh foliage on the trees and the Luigi: Yeah. Mm. Lynn: The bees are starting, I saw my first bee today, the bumblebee's happened out for a few weeks, but I saw my first bee and it's like, you know, it's, it's that's like here it is like that. It's there. But I also know like back in Germany, for example, sometimes it would already be like 20, 25 degrees. are sweating, ⁓ know, and, ⁓ know, the actual springtime ⁓ much earlier. Luigi: It's there. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Lynn: So yeah, there's a shift and this is quite important to address and maybe talk about it. How this affects our celebrations really. I really like that we have the four seasons and they're pretty much aligned with how they used to be. Not how they used to be, but at the time they used to be. And I love that and it feels very balanced. Luigi: Yeah. Lynn: also like in myself. I feel it feels very balanced. And if I had lived in a country that is very warm, for example, a country that doesn't have any snow in a real winter, I would miss that kind of that kind of balance that I'm used to with the four seasons. But yeah, like Adriana, you said in I think in one of our episodes as well that they don't have they only have one season basically in Colombia. Yeah. Luigi: Yeah. Colombia, yeah. Lynn: So them that's normal, you know, but to me that would be, I would be like lacking rhythm. I'm used to this kind of, yeah. ⁓ The I like, I like it. I like this rhythm. ⁓ Yes, Definitely. Yeah. Luigi: Hmm, you'll be able to... a difficult adjustment. Amelie: This is why it's so important when you have our traditions or traditions, European traditions, I guess, they are based on nature and it's nature that is very specific to Europe. Because of the four seasons that we have, it would be very difficult to replicate or understand if you go to, you know, like... Lynn: Hmm. Hmm. Mm. Amelie: If you go to Colombia, for example, and then, I mean, now people have like internet and stuff, but if you would not know that there's snow or there's, you know, autumn and seasons, how would you then, you know, try to describe it to someone that never seen snow, you know, the kind of fauna that we have as well, like flora? Lynn: Hmm. Hmm. Mm. Mm. Amelie: Different animals, flowers, nature, trees, everything is different. And it's so entwined in the nature that we have here. So that's why I that we have to kind of like cherish that because we're so lucky that we have. And I know that we're just so annoyed with like, my God, the rain, ⁓ my God, it's cold, and the winter. ⁓ Lynn: Mm. Mm-mm. You Amelie: But in the midst of it all, we're so lucky that we get to experience every single season there is. Because yeah. Lynn: ⁓ that. I think we also mentioned that in our Yule episode, Christmas of Yule period being the darkest period of the year and then you're lighting candles and there being the whole candle tradition because it's dark ⁓ and it really make sense in a place, I think I like in Australia for example, it's on the other side of the globe and they're celebrating it in summer. with all the, know, licensees and it doesn't make any sense. ⁓ quite interesting. Yeah, mean, I would be really interested ⁓ know about, know, ⁓ that people in, say for example, in the middle of Africa, like traditional things that people do there, where, you know, ⁓ you don't have ups and downs, but I'm sure they mark some things and they must have some amazing traditions that I've never heard about. Luigi: Yeah, every place, every culture will have their own traditions and relative ⁓ seasons, seasons beyond the solar seasons, let's speak, more like the seasons of existence through time. So yeah, that would be an intriguing thing to look into. Lynn: Mmm. Mm. Mm. Luigi: But that can take us a very long time because it's a big, big world out there! Lynn: It's a big world. Yeah, but I'm you know, just like I think they must mark. have some markers because like when all our birds migrate, they get all the birds, right? So there's like some marker of time when suddenly all these birds are coming or in the rain seasons and the right like the rainy seasons and all that. So yeah, it's interesting. It's intriguing. Do you guys have any particular? ⁓ memories or particular Beltane festivities that are close to your heart or something that you remember. yeah, we can start maybe with the past and see what we're gonna do if you have any plans for this year. Luigi: ⁓ that you mentioned ⁓ the the maple because I've one like I've done a dance around the maple last week and it was really fun. ⁓ was laughing. Everybody was ⁓ mistakes as well because there's a rhythm to it. You know, you have to cross ⁓ intertwine, so speaking ⁓ in a way representing the sexual actor, one would say, ⁓ the union. And ⁓ all of us got it right. Lynn: People are ⁓ Hmm. Yes. Mm. Hmm. Luigi: there was still fun in the mistakes that we made and the music and the giggling and the dancing. It was beautiful. think in terms of like routine traditions, obviously there is the altar decoration, maybe even house decoration. ⁓ House decoration, not much when you live in a place that you don't necessarily own, ⁓ but the altar it's easier. Lynn: Mm. Mm. Mm. Luigi: and it's usually about decorating with flowers and even solar symbols. This is something that I wanted to address about the conversation of Beltane. The fact that it is very much of a solar, when I say solar I mean like with a huge emphasis on the power of the sun. The days are now finally becoming actually longer. It's no longer dark at 5 p.m. It still gets dark, like right now it's eight o'clock in the UK. I know that I don't have much light outside, but there's still light. There's still light. Like it's not bursting through the window, but it's there. And it's again, eight o'clock. So it's showcasing that shift that we were talking about before. ⁓ therefore the growth ⁓ the power of the sun. And speaking of the sun itself, I guess the built-in etymology, know, fire of bell. Lynn: Thank Mm. Mm. Luigi: or ⁓ allegedly Belenus, the deity of the Sun deity, the healer deity the Celtic tradition at the very least. And the big focus on fire that you both mentioned at the very beginning of the conversation. So yeah, guess what I was trying to say is I think in neo-pagan tradition, practices ⁓ conversations, ⁓ one think the power of the Sun, they probably will think of the solstice as they should, but It's that awareness that the core four sabbaths, know, Imbolc, Beltane, Lughnasadh and Samhain, they came before, allegedly, like, you know, this is all going based on what's been passed down to me from my coven, from my mentors and the people that I came across in the pagan world. But because, paganism, always been a very oral tradition. There's always a few things that may have gotten lost in the mix. in the midst of time and whatnot. But basically, think historically speaking, there is, at least in the Celtic traditions, those four sabbaths came before the inclusion of the equinoxes and the solstices. And so I say that because if you think of the power of the sun and the power of summer, one would be led to think rather, or associate. to the summer solstice which is fine and it's technically correct but because he originated prior to that, know, the Beltane and Imbolc and Samhain and Lughnasadh this would be the season of the sun. This would be the beginning of Celtic summer. So yeah, that's why I was mentioning decorating the altar with some ⁓ solar and the color yellow, ⁓ the yellow, the color orange, solar ⁓ Lynn: you Luigi: solar and warm colors. They definitely come up quite a lot in my way of arranging my altar whenever I have access to the right tools and decorations, etc. Yeah. ⁓ Lynn: find it so interesting because it's really like for me like Beltane is my most favorite of all festivities and seasons ⁓ and Samhain the next one ⁓ and might have mentioned this before some how like the equinoxes while they're super important some how in my heart of hearts they're not they don't feel as important or strong to me as definitely like Beltaine and Samhain in my top two. And while I do, mean, some of, you know, the summer solstice and the winter solstice, they, yes, them as well. But not so much the equinoxes for some reason. So it's like, yeah, it's, it's, it's interesting. I, I was not aware of that. They were supposedly coming first and then the equinoxes and the solstices came after maybe. Yeah, that'd be interesting. Luigi: Yeah, by all means, feel free to look it up, etc. It's something that came across, something that was to me in cover meetings and lectures, like the awareness of how in the Celtic traditions, actually the solar, despite the equinoxes and the solstices being very ancient, very ancient. In fact, we have Stonehenge here in the UK. ⁓ that though, allegedly at least. Lynn: Hmm. Mm. Mm. Mm. Luigi: if you trust the resources that we have at our disposal ⁓ if ⁓ choose to trust obviously ⁓ people that have passed down their knowledge to myself. core because they represent the goddess, again the ⁓ equinoxes and solstices, ⁓ they more solar and therefore by extension a bit more, we don't need to assign, yeah masculine, don't need to assign gender but for the purpose of, for the sake of argument. that have been more masculine and therefore more God-based versus the sabbaths of, again, Beltane, I'm sorry to repeat myself, Beltane, Imbolc, Samhain and Lughnasadh those are goddess sabbaths and those were of the original faith, tradition, spiritual path, whatever name you want to associate to the practice itself, to belief, etc. ⁓ Lynn: Hmm. Mm. you exciting stuff. Luigi: Yeah, because there's something else that, now before I forget, you know like how, especially during the winter and summer solstice, is a neo-pagan custom or if not custom belief, again that the veil is very thin. There is huge conversation coming up and popping up all the time, the thinness of the veil during the solstices. But obviously the winter... and the summer solstice. Again, what do they represent? They represent winter and summer, like it's there in the words. But before they're coming, representing ⁓ those seasonal Xeniths, if that's the right word to use in this context, that was Beltane for summer ⁓ and Samhain for winter, who are equally famously spoken about on how thin the veils ⁓ between worlds are and the presence of the fae. Lynn: Yeah. Mm. Mm. Luigi: or the Fair Folk or the Fairies. It's interesting to think about or reflect at least about that shift, know, the focus being originally on Beltane and Samhain and then with the coming of the solstices, it moved slightly in neo-pagan time, it moved slightly upwards or upwards, forward, you know, to winter solstice, summer solstice, pardon me now because it's closer to us, and winter solstice further down. Lynn: Yeah. Mm. Interesting. mean, like for crazy people like me, the veil is always thin. thinner than others. It's just like, ⁓ us. But I agree with like for me, also for me, I feel it most on Samhain and Beltane. And I was also just interesting that a lot of like, I think there's a lot of traditions that put like the ⁓ ghostly ⁓ Amelie: you Lynn: things into the time when autumn ⁓ happening like the like do have Samhain and then there's like the Obon festival you know the the dead like lot of these dead traditions tradition with the death and beliefs that they come back are in that time of late summer, autumn, a lot of them. Yeah, it does to me. ⁓ Luigi: Yeah, And it makes sense. It makes sense because again, before the solstices and the equinoxes, despite the lack, like allegedly, despite the lack of those calendar periods or days or moments, a lot of paganism spirituality, you know, I'm not this as truth and facts, but as just a point of view, ⁓ a lot all of this is ⁓ very much rooted in nature, yes, and obviously in the journey and the cycle of the sun itself, ⁓ without necessarily dedicating it to those specific dates that we have now, you know, that being the equinoxes and the solstices, ⁓ because of the lack of light and therefore the lack of warmth and therefore the lack of life. it makes sense to have those festivities, those traditions, those customs, those stories all set in a period where once upon a time before science told us otherwise, you would think, no, the sun is dying again. The ⁓ of life, ⁓ traveling, it's the veil towards the other world. Lynn: Hmm. Luigi: So it makes real ⁓ sense in a way and therefore it makes even more sense than now that it's a power. It's that the whole conversation is about sexuality and pleasure and disinhibited, but there's a word for it. Forgive You know, like just having fun and ⁓ enjoying the of the flowers and the buzzing bees and the birds chirping and so forth. Lynn: and yeah Luigi: So it's all the birds and the bees. Lynn: the birds and the bees. No, the bees, the birds, ⁓ the bees and the flowers. Why is it birds and bees? Why is the bees and the flowers? I'm like confused right now. You say... Luigi: Well, yeah, no, like the flowers I think the term is the birds and the bees, but that's for reproduction, reproductivity. ⁓ Lynn: Yes, right. Yeah, but confused right now. Mommy, how does it work? Mother father. Why birds and bees? ⁓ Because I'm just having this complete brain-fart. I'm just like thinking, yeah, it's called birds and bees. But I'm thinking, yeah, the bees make sounds, the bees going into the flowers. And then you can explain what's happening there. But maybe they're making it too separate, like the birds. Luigi: Yeah Amelie: For time! Luigi: Should we look it up? Am I looking up if you guys- Lynn: are having their little orgies and then the bees having their little orgies with the flowers maybe it's two separate things because the birds they just eat the bee like the not the bees maybe but they eat like the insects so I'm like this is not this is not reproductive in that sense Luigi: It comes from a poem called Work Without Hope from the 19th century. It was commonly used to steer children away from the idea of storks bringing babies. Oh, I guess, okay. Substituting it with a natural tale of how plants and animals make babies. Lynn: Hmm. Mm-hmm. Okay. Luigi: Gentoo Metaphor for Sex. Amelie: So maybe it's just the beginning of the poem, the birds and the bees, and then maybe it actually goes on to describe what bees do and what birds do. Do you have the poem? Lynn: Do you the poem there? You have the poem in front of you? Because I would love to share it. Share it. Luigi: Yeah I have of the poems. So I got like, birds around the wings, ⁓ are stirring. That's also part of a song lyric, I think. ⁓ Referring to the springtime reproduction. Yeah, I guess it is just talking about the season of spring ⁓ slash beginning of summer ⁓ when there are those rituals in the animal kingdom. Lynn: Mm. Hmm. Luigi: with the birds on top of each other and the bees impollinating and what not. So it makes sense. When you look into it, then you read a little bit. Lynn: Mm. Mm. Yeah, In two separate, yes, right, in two separate things. I was just like birds plus bee together. That didn't make sense pretty proactively in my head. Luigi: Yeah, yeah. Yeah, no, no, I don't think I mean, I'll have to read the whole poem at some point, but I don't think the poem alludes that the birds will be reproducing with the bees, but I think it focuses on their own reproduction practices with the birds and the bees, guess, focusing on those animals in particular, because they're not really present in the season of winter, isn't it? Like they're hibernating and whatnot. Lynn: No, no I guess not. Yeah. Yeah, that makes sense. Yeah. Luigi: I mean, based on that you can also argue, why not bears then? The birds, the bees and the bears? And what not. Lynn: Maybe there not that many bears around, I think everybody has birds and bees but... Luigi: Yeah, and you need bees, I suppose, and fair enough across the planet to sustain life. Lynn: Yeah, I would have thought, you know, rather than birds, I would have gone into bunnies, which we talked about in Ostara, you know, because bunnies, have, they are very, they, you know, fertile. Luigi: Hmm. But we also in Ostara how allegedly one of the myths and legends is that a bird was turned into a bunny. Lynn: Yes, right. Yes. Luigi: So we have like ⁓ the bird reference even there. Lynn: We do, we do training, all right? Luigi: So yeah, we got like the solar and the fiery focus themes, you know. There is also, I guess I'm gonna speak again about the Celtic tradition, but there is also a lot of fastings usually happening during this time of the year, whether it's a marriage or a vows renewal. ⁓ But again, I think it reflects the union of the, excuse me, the union of the god and the goddess ⁓ Lynn: Mm. Mm. Mm. Luigi: the phallic and the womb, the masculine and the feminine and whatnot. ⁓ then you also have Jack the Green Man, or simply the Green Man, I suppose. So if I you guys back, or if I take us all back to Yule and the winter solstice, there's different opinions about this, there's different versions of it, but the idea is that when the oak king, who's the king of Sama, was born. He was born. He was clearly a baby. He was an infant at the time of Yule. But by now, by Beltane, he has matured. He, she, they, who knows? They have matured into the green man, like a symbol of nature and a symbol of the full power of nature. A full power also being the fertility of it, like the point of nature being that he creates, he provides. Lynn: Mm. Luigi: And even if you think in Tarot terms, this is the season of the Ace of Pentacles as well, when we get to Beltane time. Well, it technically started with the Spring period of Aerys, but what gives it power, elementally, is the fixed sign of the season, that being Taurus, the Earthly sign. So you have the Ace of Pentacles power, then you go, hi! ⁓ Adriana when she's here as well. ⁓ you have this idea of fertility again, abundance. ⁓ Lynn: I am Taurus, yes. Amelie: You Luigi: prosperity and whatnot attached to the green man and I guess attached again to the union of the goddess and the god no matter what goddess or god they are you know in whatever tradition beyond the conversation of gender but purely about union and sexual sexual what's the word I'm looking for completion Lynn: Mm. Mm. Mm. Yeah, four ones. Yeah, and the mention of like this together of the god and the goddess and also represented by the May Queen and the May King who were usually like picked out of the say the towns or the villages, young people, ⁓ often most beautiful ones ⁓ or ⁓ by like by, not by choice, but by... Luigi: Yes. Lynn: How do you say? throw and somebody catches it and that's the person who will be by chance. There we go. ⁓ Somebody choice, somebody by chance. And they be the main couple for this whole thing. And there'll be like processions and a lot of rituals around ⁓ the two of them being like main. Luigi: Yeah, by chance. Lynn: main couple and then blessed be if you actually like each other then that's great could talk about what if they do not like each other and they still have to go through with it that was probably also part of a tradition that is not so positive but they great and yeah yeah and and the of the traditions is then the making that would ⁓ later or like on the day of May carry pole, be like the first person to actually erect the pole or whatnot ⁓ and May Queen would be given lots of offerings and she would have like a big ⁓ banquet freshly growing trees in the there's like that kind of tradition on the May Yeah, well on the night before they were fornicating and... Luigi: ⁓ nice! Lynn: maybe making babies then being venerated the day after for the wonderful fertile job they were doing. ⁓ Luigi: Hahaha Amelie: have like in Sweden, Sweden I don't have, ⁓ us ⁓ was always the fire. They never had, well, ours anyway, they never had the maple because that's what they do during That is like, that is the ⁓ put on that, which is not belting which is letha I believe. That's where you have the midsummer ⁓ pole is Lynn: Mm. Mm. Mm. Mm. Amelie: the phallus and you put it in the ground as in like fertilizes the earth but that they do that they do that over midsummer and not in May I think Lynn: Right. Yeah, which is kind of strange, don't you? Like if you're thinking about like fertile, if you want to make the earth fertile, you should have, you'd have to do it like when you're sowing and like midsummer is so close to actually, you're actually harvesting in that time, right? So that is interesting that there's such a time shift, although we're like, you know, neighboring countries, we definitely do it in May, in May, yeah. Amelie: Yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't know. I actually never really thought about like why Sweden does that. I know as well, a lot of people say the reason for the fires is because you collect everything that's been on the ground throughout the winter. So you collect everything and you put it together and you burn it. Lynn: Mm. Amelie: just so obviously so you can make space for new. So that's also like an aspect. I don't know how old it is, but I assume you know when you in a where you have agriculture then it makes total sense. Specifically when ⁓ you ⁓ are in where have a lot of snow there's a lot of rubble and things under the snow a lot of like Lynn: Mm. Mm. Yeah. Hmm. Amelie: rotting things and whatever, which is good for a while, but then you know get rid of it, you burn it and then... yeah, ⁓ interesting that they kind of like moved it to midsummer instead. Maybe the weather was better, I don't know. ⁓ Lynn: Mm. Mm. Yeah. Yeah, maybe just love the poles and I can like every occasion let's just do something with poles. All the time. Yeah, that's right. ⁓ gosh, I have a memory of like one of my first, no, I think it was the first or well, first of May festivities I've ever done. Amelie: They're like, let's just fronicate during belting, let's fronicate during lethar, like just, yeah. Lynn: So like I was 16, 17 something and that was when I was first time I was in Norway and I was with the pagan or the heathenness societies here and we would do like rituals together. And on the first of May, it's the first time that a lot of us were gathering together. Like before that, we just had our like small ritual groups of maybe like four or five people. And then we were going, it was around Oslo somewhere. I forget where it was, but there was like huge lakes or probably fjords there were lakes and then there was we were like hiking up into ⁓ ruins some old building i know it was it was beautiful and the sun was shining and the water was like clear and beautiful and there was like the forest all around us ⁓ and we're like 30 40 people it's like the maximum of heathens i've ever seen gathered up to that point in my life and we had pole and everybody had brought food and we were making a fire and then I remember we were also dancing around the maple and we were all singing and we were all singing like heathen songs and if it's the first time you're doing this you know what I mean also like you know 16 year old and I was just like so odd and like all these voices singing not you know like you do in church or these Christian songs but like really you know like Pagan songs and everybody has this very different and all this fire they bring to it and it was just so amazing and ⁓ and think we stayed there until super late at night and I remember that like after all the festivities and we were like Barbecuing and you know was and people were swimming naked in the lakes and it was amazing and I remember that I was laying in the grass or on a tree. And I was just looking up at the sky. And I remember this so clearly because I was looking at the beautiful night sky with all the stars I was feeling so happy blessed. And like I found a community I belong to, you know, like finally I felt at home and also like a place I belong to. ⁓ And could feel a shift happening. like inside of me, outside of me, but it was just I just remember staring up at this guy and I was like, yes, I will remember this forever and I will remember it forever. was just yeah, it was really, really impactful for me. My first first belting ever. And then it just got wilder after that. just got crazy after that. But that was ⁓ first was really, really beautiful. Really important for me. Luigi: sounds Yeah, he sounded... when you were telling the story, sounded very sacred. Lynn: Mmm, yes. ⁓ Amelie: It must be amazing to be around, you know, like people that have the same, that understand the energy around. Because nowadays, you know, obviously when you go to these things, it's just people gathering. So it's people, you know, believe in whatever, there's a fire going on, everyone goes to the same place. But now you're with people that had kind of like similar beliefs and they all kind of understood what actually, what it was about. Lynn: Yeah. Mm. Amelie: So that kind of makes it even more of an experience of the energies around as well. Lynn: Yeah. Yeah, wonderful time. Luigi: and my cynical self was gonna say it must be amazing also to be able to see stars. Amelie: That too! not forget, Luigi is in London, you cannot see stars in London most of the time. ⁓ Lynn: Pity, yeah, pity. it's, yeah, nature. my gosh, I'm so glad I'm not living in this. I mean, I am living in the city, but I'm living in Oslo. It doesn't count as a city in that sense because you can see the stars. ⁓ light, we have still like pollution. It's not as bad. It exists, but I can still see stars. So it's like, yeah, it's quite okay. ⁓ Luigi: Yeah, the light pollution is probably not as bad as we have it here. Mm-mm. Amelie: I might not have light pollution but I do have cloud pollution a lot of the times because north of England there's a lot of clouds like all the time. It is really annoying when it's like a nice full moon and you cannot see it. Lynn: Mm. Yeah. Luigi: I know, like that breaks my heart all the time. not talk, let's not welcome it into manifestation because there's a full moon coming in a few days and I plan to see it. ⁓ Lynn: Yeah. you It's full moon for Beltane. Luigi, it's full moon on Beltane. I was losing my shit. was like on the 1st of May, it's full moon. I am both, anxious, positively and negatively. I'm like, ⁓ my gosh. Like, what is this Beltane? What is this? ⁓ This ⁓ I'm like, I'm looking forward and I'm scared at the same time because ⁓ my gosh. ⁓ Last was intense. Yes. Amelie: That's the truth. Luigi: Yes, on the first, on the first! Let me also check... Amelie: It's just like a... Luigi: ⁓ so? Amelie: You Luigi: Also, it's on a Friday, like the first is on a Friday, the Venus Day, Lynn: I know, I'm just like, oh my gosh. today while I was just like, you know, focusing on, you know, we're going into recording and a few hours ago I like focusing on it and just like looking through notes and stuff. And while I was just focused on the topic, I already felt it like in my body so strongly. I was like, holy shit. This is, okay, I need to. Luigi: This is more related to my life outside of all of this, but you know, ⁓ that day is the last day before I go on holiday, you know, from work ⁓ like a week. So I'm already thinking, Beltane, full moon in Scorpio, on day of the goddess. I think gonna be a day to remember. Hopefully I'm not gonna regret my words. ⁓ Lynn: Hmm? Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah, let's just plan out good things to do. I am so happy that the first of May here is actually like a holiday, so can just go full out in whatever I'm going to do on the 30th ⁓ And I have the entire, entire day of Beltane to my shenanigans. Yeah. ⁓ Luigi: RISENTA Amelie: Sounds like I should book a day off there. Lynn: Reset, of course I will recenter on the 1st of May. use the the weekend Luigi: There's time for that. If it's not on Beltane, there's time for that later on. Lynn: Yeah, we'll figure it out. ⁓ ⁓ yeah, gosh, I'm super looking forward to it. So, yeah, Anything. think I'm with my words for the day. Luigi: It's coming in on a good day this year, yeah, for certain. I think we talked about quite a fair amount of things that we associate to the festivity and Yeah, I I don't This is gonna a bit controversial. I think it's a needed the festival obviously we need all of them and need you know when you mentioned that ⁓ it's probably your one or two ⁓ I think my will always be Samhain because I adore Samhain ⁓ but with the ⁓ of everything that goes on in the world right now, you need Beltane vibes, you need Beltane celebrations ⁓ to take you back not to childhood, not to innocent, but to harmonious, jolly chaos. Yeah, scene, ⁓ you want to call it that, like, you know, like just liberation and freedom. ⁓ and... ⁓ Lynn: to sin. No, it's no liberation of the body. Yes. And the mind. Luigi: ecstasy, know, just, ⁓ cause I know that it sounds very bohemian, but it's not just bohemian in a way. And bohemian is also a beautiful term and a beautiful association, I think. ⁓ it ⁓ is like if before we had to stay still, now we can really move. Now we can really dance. Now we can not only breathe, but we can also speak and shout and dance. Lynn: ecstasy. Thank Yes. Mm. Mm. Luigi: Because everything they keep teaching us about balance and ⁓ equilibrium and what not. But I have feeling that, especially in the society of nowadays, that there's a heavy leaning ⁓ down, down, back, shh. ⁓ Whether now, we'd done in due time, and allegedly should have been during the periods of darkness and death, Lynn: Mmm. Mmm. Luigi: Now come alive. Now whatever you've been denied, either by circumstances or even by yourself, by your own heart, maybe because you were feeling insecure or uncertain or doubtful or fearful, or simply because you were like, right now I am going to go without. Right now, because it feels right. Instead now the scales should have had, the tables should have turned. Now it's really put your boots on, dance on tables. Lynn: Mm. Yeah. Luigi: flip the tables and bang on the tables all the things burn the tables the fires of the table all the things that you can do with the tables Lynn: Yeah. ⁓ Yeah, it's really, yeah, this unbridled and actually like that thing that I said just slipped out with a sin, right? Because that so put on to us from all like the Christian beliefs with all ⁓ ⁓ time right now, I mean, it should remind us that such a thing does not exist and everything that has to do with just feeling like ⁓ ⁓ the of life and all that and this unbridled joy ⁓ and just be like stepping into your own life force and your own life essence and letting it flow naturally where it can. Now it naturally now it can like you there is always energy there is always big boom it's you know that's where you like go and where you like where you are yourself at like a thousand percent and if you so choose to or want to and can that is that is the time to do it. And there's no such thing as, you know, like, you know, and this is bad because it's not. It's you and it's it's it's you just be yourself in your ⁓ ⁓ and creative whether it's physical ⁓ or or mental or everything combined. But just like break your shackles ⁓ and out there and just do. Luigi: Yes, totally, 100%. And hopefully we don't get cancelled for this, but another traditional ritual that I think can be applied at any given time of the year, but specifically for Beltene, if the energy is there, if consent is there and the time allows for it, what I try to do my best to stick to is sexual union celebration with my beloved. But obviously, if it doesn't happen on Lynn: Hmm. Luigi: Beltane at least around that time, know, just to make sure that to make sure that's not the right way to put it ⁓ it feels like if it feels like the energies are even heightened ⁓ sex itself It's already a very spiritual experience. It can be it's not always a spiritual experience for some people and it's a very sensitive conversation to have for a lot of people as well, but Lynn: Hmm. Luigi: I think one of the beauties of the pagan beliefs or system or tradition ⁓ that sex is a ritual in itself and it's celebration in itself. So I feel it feels even better. Like obviously there's a fair amount of ⁓ Jones and they are also ⁓ and beautiful. But for the people that can benefit for a companion, ⁓ matter where they are, how they are and who they are. Lynn: Yeah, and it's sacred. It's sacred. Yeah. Luigi: If you can get together and have a mighty jolly time in Scorpio New Moon, please do that. This Beltane, we urge you, we invite you to. Lynn: And also if you do not have another companion you can also enjoy yourself. Motherroom! Go and enjoy yourself. Yeah, now is the time for if you're into it, Sex Magic, Tantra, go. Full force. experiences. Yes, take flight. Wow. Yes. That's Beltane. I'm excited. Any last words before we go onto the card? Luigi: with the broomsticks you can take flight Amelie: ⁓ The broom. Luigi: We fly! Lynn: think those were the famous last words. Yes. Luigi: Speaking of the card, I was just wanting to get your views or at least your perspective, I suppose. Because you know how we mentioned about the Ace of Pentacles power and if we go by Taurus energy, we have what's traditionally known as the Hierophant or the Hierophant, but what I prefer to call as either the Druid or the Sage and whatnot, any other names that you can think of. Yeah, how do you feel about that with Major Arcana? Lynn: Mm-hmm. Mmm. Mm. Mm-hmm. Luigi: that not necessarily commands but at least corresponds to the season of Beltane. Lynn: Hmm. So I see like for me, like I see that the connection, I'm having the connection with the Taurus very clearly. for the Major Arcana as for the energy that the cards are giving me, I would put the last here. ⁓ And this, and just taking life and ⁓ like that of energy. Luigi: Yeah. Lynn: is more... Yeah, I think that is way more what like how I feel Beltane or the energy of Beltane ⁓ Whereas the hierophantomy is more like this wisdom of nature and the wisdom of the earth. And in way, the hierophantomy, if we if I were to like put it on like Beltane, then the hierophantomy would be like the old people. who are like overseeing the rituals and all this frulicking and this craziness of the younger people. So the overseers and the, know, you know, maybe keeping a little bit like that they're not too overboard or whatever. the ones who are like more in control of it and like, yeah, the wise people, the wise old people who might not actually celebrate or contribute but be. in it with the bodies physically as much anymore as they used to. Yeah, ⁓ that kind of energy, if plus Beltane. ⁓ Amelie: Maybe they're the ones that are looking and then they know who went with whom so then they're like Lynn: Or maybe they're deciding it beforehand you you and you good match go Make make babies Luigi: ⁓ The peepers Amelie: Maybe, maybe or like this is it. If there's any children or anything that like, well, you know, remember that night? yeah, yeah. That is his baby. So now you guys, you guys, ⁓ Luigi: Ha ha! Lynn: Yeah. Yeah. Luigi: is something that I've learned from, I suppose, from T, Susan Chang and Mel. Like they mention about one of the key divination meanings of the Hierophant or the Sage or the Druid ⁓ being And that's something also that comes across when you read the Victoria key to the Tarot ⁓ by weight. But also, I guess, the way that I best ⁓ Lynn: Mmm. Mm. Luigi: make sense of it in my heart, in my mind, in myself, I suppose. I guess it's the, what's the word I'm looking for? ⁓ Vav by a Hebrew association at the very least. ⁓ Vav which ⁓ like the nail that unites. ⁓ again, the ⁓ So depiction can work, cannot work, who knows? ⁓ Maybe can get into it ⁓ at later stage because there is a hidden, ⁓ Lynn: the Luigi: as in the Smith deck at the very least, there is a hidden reference to the tree of life itself, which is really beautiful when you look at it. But the union of the nail, the union of the ⁓ wisdom that knowledge that you were talking about before as well in being a somewhat of an expression of that natural and even sexual union, ⁓ is not associated but ⁓ suitable. to the of Taurus, the bull itself, I suppose. So that's how I make most sense of it in my heart, with the Hierophant, with the Sage, with the Druid in that position. Lynn: Mm. Mm. Mm. I see that. There's something I remembered of one of the like, I think it's like a poem or a song or something that is connected to the ⁓ so the first of May, because like the ⁓ about the forming and the coupling that happens ⁓ on Pudekisnacht or the Beltane. ⁓ And was just a mention of that in some song or something. ⁓ that these two, the couple or the couples that would form, that they're supposed to just be together until the next Beltane, basically. And then maybe a new couple will form. Like not in the sense of like you meet now and now you are with each other for the rest of your lives. But it's like you are with each other now for this sacred union. Luigi: Mmm. Lynn: And then there was some line, I don't remember, but something about like that the man supposed to not ⁓ eyes for anything else or just focus on this ⁓ for the cycle until the next Beltane comes around. And then maybe it's another woman. So that is, ⁓ I that interesting. And it, for me in head, also connects a bit more with the hand fasting traditions where it was not supposed to be like you do hand fasting and now you're married forever but you do hand fasting and then next year you check in again do you still want to be my my ⁓ know married partner or not my betrothed yeah do you still want to be my betrothed ⁓ then if both parties say yes i want it to be like that you ⁓ renew the vows and it's not like ⁓ you know you do one year now you're bound forever ⁓ so that is maybe in connection to that, I found that interesting. Amelie: Trial, like a trial year. Lynn: Yeah, yeah, the trial year and another trial year, we'll see. like that a lot. It's also like just this checking in. keeps you kind of, it keeps you more I think, because then you have to always like reflect on ⁓ what we this union a good thing? Is it still, you know, the way that we grow, we grow all the time. Like, are we still people that fit together or have we grown ways that maybe we don't? It's very mature. I think it's very mature. Luigi: Yeah. Lynn: think in those terms rather than ⁓ we chose each other now you have to be until death do you part and you know. That's right. Okay. ⁓ that's fair. don't... Choices? do mean? Anyway. Luigi: Yeah, it takes you on a journey with your chosen ⁓ beloved, betrothed, partner, companion, any word that you can think of. Amelie: of that actually just gives me anxiety to be honest. ⁓ Luigi: HAHAHAHA Lynn: Let's get into the card. Yes, let's get into the card. Luigi: Shall we reveal the card? Amelie: Sure, was actually a little bit disappointed. I'm gonna say that. ⁓ Because wasn't, I was really hoping for something really saucy. But maybe, maybe it needed. ⁓ Anyone wants guess or? ⁓ Lynn: it's not a cell, it's... Okay, let's see it. Mm. What do we? Nothing saucy. Luigi: ⁓ is he a minor? Amelie: no, it's not a minor. Lynn: It's not a minor. It's not... Luigi: ⁓ okay. Is he a major? Amelie: No. Lynn: we have another chord card? Again? ⁓ do have to start the bingo. Luigi: Okay, it's a- Amelie: There is a chord card. Luigi: But it's not a saucy Amelie: It's not a saucy one, no. Lynn: It's the page of cups. Luigi: I wanna think it's Amelie: Sorry. Lynn: Page of Crops. Hmm. Luigi: The Easy A Princess Amelie: No, I was kind of hoping it was, but it's not. Luigi: Okay. Lynn: not a princess. a knight, is it? I wouldn't think it's a knight. So I would think like king of cups or something, if it's something softer or maybe the queen of... But pentacles would make sense for Beltane, so I'm not sure you're going there. Amelie: No, there's always only one left. Luigi: Yeah, okay, ⁓ me see. So it's a core card, but it's not a princess and it's not a knight. Let me see if I can. Hmm. Lynn: Is that not the adjustment? Amelie: this is the back of the cards. They use, they use, yeah, they use, they use, they use the adjustment as the back of the card for some reason. I don't know why. I know, I don't know why they did that. Like you can design a back, but. Luigi: No. Lynn: Oh, it's the back of the... but it... right, Derp! I was like, isn't it? I've seen it on your hat the entire time. Yeah, yeah, that confused me. But I've seen it on your hat. Okay. You reveal, you reveal, reveal, reveal. Luigi: hahaha Yeah, is he a queen of swords? Lynn: We're guessing too much. have to see it too bad. Amelie: No, guess it's very close. I guess it's very close. It's the Prince of Sword. Lynn: King of Swords. The Prince of Swords, yes. Hmm. Luigi: The Princess Swords. Okay, we'll take it though. Lynn: Yeah, we'll take it. That is, mean, the of the three small princes of the swords and like all kinds of direction, it kind of gives you that, you know, being kind of crazy and, you know, I wouldn't, I wouldn't put it on like the, it's not the same energy as in Beltane, but I can totally be like, you know, you're just being like going in all different directions and being like frolicking. ⁓ Luigi: We also have analyzing quite a lot today. ⁓ have been talking and sharing stories for sure, but we also have analyzed a fair amount the history, the concepts, the legitimacy and whatnot. ⁓ also been held and chosen by Amelie, very of Swords, Dionne herself. ⁓ We mention the stars a couple of times. ⁓ Again, Prince of Swords. ⁓ Lynn: Yeah, we have. Mmm. Mmm. Luigi: So I can see that. I think we're all like gobsmacked because we're like, but we wanted a bohemian. We wanted a hot stuff. ⁓ Lynn: We wanted a belt. We wanted hot stuff. We wanted my guy. Amelie: There are so many really saucy things in this deck and then I was really hoping for something saucy. Lynn: Yeah, but if you're just going on the visuals, you know, like the way that you're holding it up, you know, with the colors being so strong in it, you know, the spheres around the princes, can just say, you know, those are like ball sacks. you have that whole... ⁓ you need something phallic or if you need something saucy in there, why are there two round things attached to all of the ⁓ in Luigi: Yeah Remind us reminding us of the power of the seed or not Lynn: Yeah, so I can give you something if that makes you happier. was shuffling and then the card that I get for mine is the devil. Yes, it's devil. yeah, dancing and frolicking and so we're doing it. We're having Beltane this year. It's happening. Luigi: ⁓ the pan! Yeah! Amelie: The devil! ⁓ This feels so much better. Maybe, ⁓ maybe he's ⁓ maybe he's kind of like ⁓ riding the broom, but it's just that the chariot, you know, maybe he's maybe he's like, just like super high and just off his ⁓ Lynn: Ahem. Yeah. Luigi: Yeah, yeah, like, ⁓ Lynn: you Luigi: No, but you have a point because a way the Prince of Swords, I say liberates the mind necessarily, but because the princes are very heart centered and very solar and have talked about like the summer season and the solstices and whatnot, there is that of the highest expression, I of the realm of the mind, you know, and both the Prince of Swords and the pan that Lynn drew And those are also very ⁓ much around the same seasons themselves, they're that Saturnian energy, but perhaps they came up to tell us on how to or release ourselves from the boundaries of those Saturnian energies. ⁓ Because now ⁓ no longer, take it with a grain of salt, but now it's no longer the time for Saturn, now it's the time for the Sun, now it's the time for life ⁓ Lynn: Mm. Mm. ⁓ Yeah, like I would like for if you're going like into personality profiles I think like person with like a personality like the Prince of Swords is probably one of those people who has the most difficulty Probably into spirit of Beltane and actually letting go Because that is like you're very much like in your mind ⁓ and and having like always you're too intellectual and too logical and too sharp. You would not just let go feel all those feelings and going into all this like debauchery and stuff because you need to have things proper and or and you know, it's like it It ⁓ would, you ⁓ Yeah. ⁓ that's Amelie drew this card. Amelie: And this is why, and this is why, and this is why Luigi said that Amelie drew this card. Luigi: No, can I? Lynn: Yeah, and this is why Lynn is not drawing this card. Luigi: But at the same time Well, things that I wanted to point out, ⁓ taking too much time, but two things that I wanted to point out. ⁓ you assign the number 6 because of the position on the Tree of Life to the Princes, it's interesting that you both drew a 6 related card. 15 of the panel reduces to 6 and the 6 of the Prince. And that's analytical brain now. That's my Prince of Swordian brain. But it's funny you say that, Lynn, because if I can share, and hopefully again we don't get cancelled, but obviously... Lynn: Mm-hmm. You Luigi: by, too late for that, ⁓ signed our destinies, ⁓ I for one am not necessarily a person that indulge into recreational substances too much, know, whether it's alcohol or what not, but when we celebrated Beltane ⁓ with London Pagan Federation last week, there was of mead going around and I love mead and that was first time that I drank in a while, like I'm talking about months, of not drinking. Amelie: Too late for that now. Lynn: That's fine. Luigi: and on a very light stomach. It wasn't empty, I had something to it, but I could feel it. I had a few drinks of mead and I wasn't just dancing with the fairies, I was making love to them in the space. And I'm just saying, then spoke to a couple of friends that were like, ⁓ how did it go? And I was like, I'm very embarrassed to tell you this, I the happiest that I felt in a time ⁓ because obviously ⁓ nature and by need Lynn: Mmm. Mmm. Luigi: control, avoid, forgive me the word, intoxication, because I need to have that control because of the fear of, no, I need to be able to know what goes on. I did, because I was also cycling that day, by drinking that much, my senses were, well no, the senses were activated. My rational capacities were numbed. And by being numbed, I was just having a jolly good time. Lynn: Virgo. Luigi: things were not making sense, people were talking gibberish to an extent and I was talking gibberish but it was hilarious, it was fantastic and I'm not saying that I'm not gonna drink mead every single day for the rest of the year but I am simply saying that I see that message that you delivered, both yourself Amelie and both yourself Lynn in the presence of the Pan and in the presence of the Prince of Swords so it reminds me of that Lynn: Mm. Mm. Mm. everything at the right time. Also just to that mentioned, ⁓ do we have on the bottom of my deck? ⁓ like that so I had the devil on top ⁓ on the bottom ⁓ have the Ace of Cups. It's the Ace ⁓ Cups. So we Luigi: These are the issue cups! ⁓ my goodness. Amelie: Ace. ⁓ Lynn: I'll say no more. Amelie: It's really interesting because you can really tell who draws the card. You basically get the energy of the person that draws the card. Lynn: What are you insinuating? What are you insinuating? Yeah. Luigi: lot of times yeah Amelie: Yeah. Yeah. And yeah, mean, Beltine is not like of my super faves. I don't, with my like Aquarian rational logical mind, like I don't understand why ⁓ would like to just let go and have fun. ⁓ brain is like, ⁓ do you like just let go and you have fun? ⁓ Lynn: Mm. Alright. Hehehehe. Hehehehe. Mmm. Yeah. Well. Luigi: for you to possibly lean into in this season if you so choose to. Amelie: Yeah, I do try but there's always in the back of my head, you know, It's not like it's it's not like you can't have fun. It's just Yeah, there's there's always like this not rationalizing but always like Trying to understand logically what's happening Just let it happen. Just let it happen. Yeah, just let it happen. But it's like Luigi: the rains. Yeah, even when logic doesn't apply. Lynn: Mm. Amelie: What do you mean just let it happen when things are happening? But I need to like, what's how? How does it do? Like it's too much. Like I really need. Yes. Yeah. Maybe I just need to get a massage or something. Who knows? Lynn: Yeah. Luigi: The Prince of Swords will figure it out. Lynn: Yeah, maybe do that on Beltane. Let's do that. All right. Wow. is another episode. Thank you so much for ⁓ joining. Drop a comment below if you have any comments, any thoughts about Beltane, how you celebrate, how you would love to celebrate or any other experiences you've had around this time of year that.
