- 0:49Speaker 1: joined this morning. Bye, doctor Marty Greer. Doctor Greer, how
- 0:52Speaker 1: are you doing this week?
- 0:53Speaker 2: I'm great? Thank you. It's beautiful weather.
- 0:56Speaker 1: It is beautiful weather. And before we get rolling on
- 0:59Speaker 1: this week's topic, talk about, of course its being allergy season.
- 1:02Speaker 1: You got a big event coming up May the fourth,
- 1:05Speaker 1: A's Sunday from three until five at the clinic, don't you.
- 1:10Speaker 2: That's right, we've got Meet the Vet MTV. Different MTV
- 1:14Speaker 2: than you're probably used to. So Meet the Vet is
- 1:16Speaker 2: an opportunity for you to come in and meet me,
- 1:19Speaker 2: some of the other staff and doctors at check out.
- 1:21Speaker 2: That it's of course, it's all free. We'd love to
- 1:24Speaker 2: have you. You can bring your pet, but we're not
- 1:27Speaker 2: making any appointment. But if you want to bring your
- 1:29Speaker 2: dog to your cat and just thot, I'm kind of
- 1:30Speaker 2: experience that that'd be great. Love wine and a little beer,
- 1:33Speaker 2: a little cheese, you know, just a little reception, a
- 1:36Speaker 2: typical Wisconsin reception, and introduce you to the concept of
- 1:40Speaker 2: what it's like to be at checkout, what the doctors
- 1:42Speaker 2: are like, get to know our staff. Just an opportunity
- 1:45Speaker 2: to kind of meet and greet. So if you do
- 1:48Speaker 2: decide that we're the right kind of place for you, you
- 1:50Speaker 2: feel more comfortable coming in because you've been there, you
- 1:53Speaker 2: know what it's like, you know where it is. It's
- 1:55Speaker 2: right across from Woodman so it's easy to find, but
- 1:57Speaker 2: it gives you. It gives you the firsthand experience of
- 2:00Speaker 2: what it's like to drive in park your car, have
- 2:03Speaker 2: your pet in the garage bay, have yourself in the
- 2:05Speaker 2: in the pet, and the examin and just how it
- 2:07Speaker 2: works so that you don't have to interact with other
- 2:10Speaker 2: animals whire there.
- 2:11Speaker 1: You know, it's such an important relationship, what you know,
- 2:15Speaker 1: pets and their vets and having a good communication and
- 2:19Speaker 1: really really clicking and connecting with your veterinary. And what
- 2:22Speaker 1: a great opportunity that is. And I know, doctor for you,
- 2:26Speaker 1: whether it's at this event May fourth, that's Sunday, May fourth,
- 2:29Speaker 1: the Meet the Vet, the MTV event from three until
- 2:31Speaker 1: five out checkout Veterinary, whether it's at that event or
- 2:34Speaker 1: just in general, I know, building relationships is really really
- 2:38Speaker 1: important for you. And we see, really there's there's a
- 2:41Speaker 1: couple of good reasons. One obviously, I know you love
- 2:44Speaker 1: love getting to know people and love spending time with
- 2:46Speaker 1: their pets, but it also improves their all overall care
- 2:49Speaker 1: and treatment. If there's a good relationship. There isn't doesn't it.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Oh absolutely, I mean we are the other family doctor.
- 2:56Speaker 2: So it's not just your physician, or your pediatrician or
- 2:58Speaker 2: your internest. We are the other family doctor, and it's
- 3:01Speaker 2: really important that we know each other. I know how
- 3:03Speaker 2: you think, you know how I think. We have the
- 3:05Speaker 2: opportunity to meet each other, and I kind of understand
- 3:09Speaker 2: then where you're going with something. If you say to me, yeah,
- 3:11Speaker 2: this is how I want to handle it, I understand
- 3:13Speaker 2: the direction you want to go. Because not all treatment
- 3:16Speaker 2: plans turn out to be the same. We have one
- 3:18Speaker 2: that's customized. We guarantee will customize a treatment plan, whether
- 3:21Speaker 2: it's vaccines or your pet is ill, if your pet
- 3:24Speaker 2: is injured, will come up with some kind of an
- 3:26Speaker 2: option for what you can do, so that you kind
- 3:30Speaker 2: of know how we think, and we can give you
- 3:33Speaker 2: the opportunity to say, well, this is planning, this is
- 3:35Speaker 2: plan B, this is plan C. Not because we're indecisive,
- 3:37Speaker 2: but because not everybody chooses the same level of care
- 3:40Speaker 2: for their pet, and we want to make sure that
- 3:43Speaker 2: we are customizing that pet care based on your resources,
- 3:46Speaker 2: your finances, what you have time to do, what you're
- 3:49Speaker 2: interested in doing, and what your pet really needs. Because
- 3:51Speaker 2: not everybody wants the same thing. Some people will go
- 3:55Speaker 2: all out. I have a doctor that just took her down,
- 3:57Speaker 2: her dog down to refer to, and she started off
- 4:01Speaker 2: with the CT. They decided to convert to an MRI.
- 4:04Speaker 2: She had insurance. Great, go for it, she can do
- 4:06Speaker 2: it all. And we have other people that are like,
- 4:08Speaker 2: you know, she's sixteen and I'm good, and so we
- 4:11Speaker 2: want to make sure that we aren't pushing pushing an
- 4:14Speaker 2: agenda on you. You have the option of how you
- 4:16Speaker 2: want your pet to be treated in it's the first
- 4:18Speaker 2: time we see you is when you're in a crisis.
- 4:20Speaker 2: It's a lot more difficult for us to understand you.
- 4:23Speaker 1: It's a great data start that relationship and how refreshing
- 4:25Speaker 1: it is to hear about about how that relationship is structured.
- 4:29Speaker 1: A great data start that conversation. Make that appointment, of
- 4:31Speaker 1: course you can learn more online. Check out vet dot com.
- 4:34Speaker 1: That's checkout vet dot com. Telphon number which is up
- 4:37Speaker 1: at the website as well. Telephone number to make an
- 4:38Speaker 1: appointment at checkout veterinary six oh eight three one eight
- 4:41Speaker 1: sixty seven hundred. That's six oh eight three one eight
- 4:44Speaker 1: sixty seven hundred and again that first exam, that first visit,
- 4:47Speaker 1: it is free doctor. A lot of folks or some
- 4:50Speaker 1: folks may have noticed their pet this week, maybe chewing
- 4:54Speaker 1: on there on their pause or licking their pause and
- 4:57Speaker 1: chewing on their on their fur and think, oh, my goodness,
- 5:00Speaker 1: does my pet have fleas or what's going on there?
- 5:03Speaker 1: It might be something other than a critter on them. Now,
- 5:07Speaker 1: could be a critter on them, but it could be
- 5:09Speaker 1: also just the season of the year, couldn't it right, And.
- 5:13Speaker 2: It can be their eyes that are running in lottery.
- 5:15Speaker 2: There's all kinds of things that start to happen this
- 5:16Speaker 2: time of year, as soon as the tree pollens and
- 5:18Speaker 2: the grass pollens start to come out, which I mean,
- 5:21Speaker 2: I love spring. It's my favorite season of the year.
- 5:23Speaker 2: I know a lot of people I call brings my
- 5:25Speaker 2: favorite season, and I love to see this time of
- 5:27Speaker 2: year roll around. But it does bring with it some challenges. So, yes,
- 5:32Speaker 2: allergies do start to flare up, and there are lots
- 5:34Speaker 2: of things that we can do for your pets. We've
- 5:37Speaker 2: always had, well for since the nineteen sixties, it's pretty
- 5:40Speaker 2: much always for most of us have had things like
- 5:42Speaker 2: steroids prednizone to treat those with. But if that creates
- 5:46Speaker 2: side effects that you're concerned about, that. Then we have
- 5:48Speaker 2: other alternatives. We have pills that you can give called apriquail.
- 5:51Speaker 2: We have pills called atopica. We have injections called side
- 5:54Speaker 2: of point. There's a pill called zenrelia. So we have
- 5:57Speaker 2: lots of things besides just shampooing your pet or putting
- 6:00Speaker 2: eye drops in. There's lots and lots of things that
- 6:02Speaker 2: we can do. So I think you again need to
- 6:05Speaker 2: meet your veterinarian and have an opportunity to understand what
- 6:08Speaker 2: your treatment options are. Discuss all of them, everything from
- 6:11Speaker 2: the most expensive to the least expensive, everything for the
- 6:13Speaker 2: most of the least side effects, and then you can
- 6:16Speaker 2: make a well informed decision on how your pet treatment
- 6:20Speaker 2: should go. Because we can really make a difference if
- 6:22Speaker 2: they're chewing at their feet to the and they come
- 6:25Speaker 2: in like they all have rust colored toes, if they're
- 6:27Speaker 2: a light colored dog, because the saliva turns the skin
- 6:31Speaker 2: and the hair a rust color, and people come in
- 6:33Speaker 2: and think that maybe blood or they're not quite sure
- 6:34Speaker 2: what's going on. If they think it's just a habit, well,
- 6:36Speaker 2: if you yell at your dog for chewing on their feet,
- 6:38Speaker 2: all they're going to do is leave the room and
- 6:40Speaker 2: chew in the other room for it, for it, because
- 6:42Speaker 2: you're not going to make their feet less itchy by
- 6:43Speaker 2: yelling at them. You're just going to teach them to
- 6:46Speaker 2: be closet cheers instead of out in the open. So
- 6:49Speaker 2: be sure that you're allowing your veterinarian to get you
- 6:52Speaker 2: the chance to talk about what all your treatment options are,
- 6:54Speaker 2: because we can offer you a number of them, and
- 6:56Speaker 2: depending if it's an eye problem, then we treat the
- 6:59Speaker 2: eyes and times of the ears, so we'll treat the ears.
- 7:02Speaker 2: So it depends on the pet, and it depends on
- 7:04Speaker 2: your resources. So I want people to know that they
- 7:06Speaker 2: have a lot of choices, but their pets should be
- 7:08Speaker 2: more comfortable in the long run. If you decide that
- 7:10Speaker 2: you want to go and see a dermatologists and have
- 7:12Speaker 2: skin testing done. Blood and slide the tests aren't generally
- 7:16Speaker 2: very useful, but the skin test can be done and
- 7:19Speaker 2: then you can do hyposensitization on the pet. They come
- 7:22Speaker 2: as drops, they come as injections. There's so many options
- 7:24Speaker 2: that you have now that you didn't have before, and
- 7:27Speaker 2: insurance has made a lot of them really cost effective.
- 7:30Speaker 2: So think about whether you want to get insurance on
- 7:34Speaker 2: your pet, because anything pre existing, of course, isn't going
- 7:36Speaker 2: to be covered. So think about what's going to be
- 7:39Speaker 2: best for your pet and best for you.
- 7:40Speaker 1: Talk this morning with doctor Marty Greer of Checkout Veterinary.

- 8:11Speaker 1: six oh eight three one eight sixty seven hundred. Doctor.
- 8:14Speaker 1: I hear this term hotspot often mentioned, and I feel like,
- 8:20Speaker 1: just by your reaction there, I'm probably lucky that I'm
- 8:22Speaker 1: not familiar with that term, because it sounds like it
- 8:26Speaker 1: sounds like can be be a bit of a problem.
- 8:27Speaker 1: What is a quote unquote hot spot for a for
- 8:30Speaker 1: a pet or a dog, for example.
- 8:34Speaker 2: A hotspot is a special kind of allergy. It's a
- 8:36Speaker 2: special kind of nasty reaction. It's technically called an acute
- 8:39Speaker 2: to professional bacterial pioderma. Probably like that. Now you know what,
- 8:43Speaker 2: Now you know why we call it a lot of spots,
- 8:45Speaker 2: because acute to deficial bacterial pioderma is a little bit
- 8:48Speaker 2: of a mouthful to say. So. Basically, a hotspot starts
- 8:50Speaker 2: as any kind of break in the skin. It can
- 8:52Speaker 2: be allergies, it can be your pet scratched or hurt themselves.
- 8:56Speaker 2: It can be that they ran into a fence or
- 8:58Speaker 2: a bush or whatever. They broke the skin. It can
- 9:01Speaker 2: be an insect bite, and then it gets a little
- 9:02Speaker 2: bit itchy, and then the pet starts to scratch and
- 9:04Speaker 2: look at it, and then it gets wet, and then
- 9:06Speaker 2: it gets really gooey, and it spreads like wildfire. You
- 9:09Speaker 2: can go from a little tiny spot when you go
- 9:11Speaker 2: to bed one night to this giant area on your
- 9:13Speaker 2: pet skin overnight. And the worst ones are the ones
- 9:16Speaker 2: below the ear. The ones on the rest of the
- 9:18Speaker 2: trunk of the body are a little bit more manageable,
- 9:20Speaker 2: but the ones below the ear take at least three
- 9:22Speaker 2: weeks to clear up. It requires shaving. It may require
- 9:25Speaker 2: laser therapy to help reduce the inflammation and the bacteria.
- 9:30Speaker 2: It requires antibiotics. It may require a steroid or another
- 9:33Speaker 2: kind of an allergy like atopica or is then really
- 9:36Speaker 2: one of those meds to get it under control. Because
- 9:38Speaker 2: it's really really itchy, really uncomfortable, and if it's really bad,
- 9:41Speaker 2: you may have to put your pet in one of
- 9:42Speaker 2: those Elizabethan collars or a surgical suit or something to
- 9:45Speaker 2: keep them away from it. They sell surgical suits on
- 9:48Speaker 2: Amazon now for dogs and cats. They're amazing. So whether
- 9:50Speaker 2: you're having surgery or some other kind of a reason
- 9:53Speaker 2: that you need to keep your pet away from a
- 9:55Speaker 2: certain area of their body to keep them from licking, biting, chewing, scratching,
- 9:58Speaker 2: pulling out the sutures of the staples or whatever, the
- 10:00Speaker 2: bodysuits are amazing. You can buy them on Amazon. They
- 10:03Speaker 2: come so just type in surgical suit for dog or
- 10:05Speaker 2: surgical suitor cat, and it pulls up all kinds of
- 10:08Speaker 2: different choices on each individual page, and I'll tell you
- 10:12Speaker 2: what size the pet is, so, how long their back
- 10:14Speaker 2: is from their neck to their tail, and how much
- 10:16Speaker 2: they weigh, so you can get the right size, and
- 10:17Speaker 2: then you can get a really cute one of the
- 10:18Speaker 2: little flowers on it if it's a girl dog or
- 10:20Speaker 2: a little sail bunce that fits a boy dog. You know,
- 10:22Speaker 2: whatever you want, you can you can get. And so
- 10:25Speaker 2: that's why I usually don't order them for my clients
- 10:27Speaker 2: because I may pick the wrong pattern if you love
- 10:29Speaker 2: lady bugs, and you may want more of the vidigugs
- 10:31Speaker 2: on it. So there's there's some really great options out
- 10:34Speaker 2: there for you. So it's probably a good idea to
- 10:36Speaker 2: have one just hanging around the house anyway, because at
- 10:39Speaker 2: some point your pet's going to have something that happens.
- 10:41Speaker 2: But for sure, if they're having surgery, get that ordered
- 10:44Speaker 2: in advance. Get them used to wearing it so that
- 10:46Speaker 2: the first time that they have it on is not
- 10:48Speaker 2: as they're waking up from surgery and run wondering why
- 10:51Speaker 2: you've put them in this ridiculous outfit. But they do
- 10:54Speaker 2: a great job of keeping pets away from the things
- 10:56Speaker 2: that we don't want them to scratch, bites you or
- 10:58Speaker 2: lick at. So it's really a great tool that people
- 11:02Speaker 2: can use instead of the Elizabeth and collar because those
- 11:04Speaker 2: are miserable for pets. They run into doorways in your legs,
- 11:07Speaker 2: and you know the coffee tables there, they're just they
- 11:10Speaker 2: can't eat or drinking them. They're just kind of miserable.
- 11:12Speaker 2: So I try to avoid those when possible.
- 11:14Speaker 1: I hadn't thought about using Amazon or that's well, that's good,
- 11:19Speaker 1: good advice and guides. As always from doctor Greer's we
- 11:22Speaker 1: talk with doctor Marty Greer. Of course, Doctor gear comes

- 12:02Speaker 1: to learn more about Checkout Veterinary. The website was redesigned
- 12:05Speaker 1: a couple of months ago, and it does a really
- 12:08Speaker 1: really nice job of illustrating what makes Checkout Veterinary so
- 12:11Speaker 1: unique and so special with those drive in bays and
- 12:14Speaker 1: that drive through service that really keeps everybody happy and
- 12:18Speaker 1: safe convenience. It's a really really nice design. Again, check

- 12:29Speaker 1: eight sixty seven hundred. That's six SOH eight three one
- 12:31Speaker 1: eight sixty seven hundred. Before we get back to talking allergies, doctor,
- 12:35Speaker 1: I did want to ask you, I know something I learned.
- 12:37Speaker 1: I've learned every week. I learned a bunch of really
- 12:40Speaker 1: really new things from you. One of the things that
- 12:43Speaker 1: that I learned that that is I think a very
- 12:47Speaker 1: very interesting thing is I didn't realize that that vets
- 12:50Speaker 1: were were in short supply and they can be hard
- 12:53Speaker 1: to find. And I know you've been working very very
- 12:56Speaker 1: hard at adding vets to checkout Veterinary. You've got amazing
- 13:00Speaker 1: hours and one of the things you're looking to do
- 13:02Speaker 1: is have Checkout Veterinary open seven days a week. What's
- 13:07Speaker 1: the timeline on next? I know you found some really
- 13:09Speaker 1: really good fits for Checkout Veterinary. What's the timeline on
- 13:12Speaker 1: getting back to getting to the seven days week at
- 13:15Speaker 1: Checkout Veterinary.
- 13:17Speaker 2: We should be up and running by the time we
- 13:19Speaker 2: do our meet to vet on May fourth, so we
- 13:20Speaker 2: should be good. Yeah. So I have two doctors that
- 13:24Speaker 2: just work one week and a month, Doctor Gomez, who
- 13:27Speaker 2: is from Mexico, so he does have Spanish as a
- 13:31Speaker 2: language action for us, so that's good for people that
- 13:33Speaker 2: may have language barriers for that language. We have one
- 13:39Speaker 2: doctor who works a week in a month, one week
- 13:40Speaker 2: and a month because he's an IT guy. He does
- 13:42Speaker 2: a lot of work with nationwide Pet Insurance, so he
- 13:46Speaker 2: wants to continue to be active in veterinary medicine, so
- 13:48Speaker 2: he works one weekend a month. We have a couple
- 13:51Speaker 2: of other doctors that are absolutely amazing. Doctor Engelbert has
- 13:53Speaker 2: just come back to us. She used to work for
- 13:55Speaker 2: us for a couple of years and moved away and
- 13:58Speaker 2: to be with her mother and now she's back. That's
- 14:00Speaker 2: been great, So she's love surgery does a lot of
- 14:04Speaker 2: surgical procedures that we haven't been able to offer before.
- 14:07Speaker 2: I have doctor Dave who has been in practice for
- 14:09Speaker 2: forty years, thirty five years, forty years and has a
- 14:13Speaker 2: lot of wisdom, a lot of great communication skills. Clients
- 14:17Speaker 2: are loving him. So we've got just a really great
- 14:20Speaker 2: array of doctors. Two young, young female doctors. So depending
- 14:24Speaker 2: on what your pet prefers, what you prefer, what communication
- 14:26Speaker 2: style you have, what your needs are for hours, we
- 14:29Speaker 2: can pretty much accommodate everything that requires minor care. Once
- 14:34Speaker 2: you get into something more extensive, something that requires a
- 14:37Speaker 2: CT scan or an MRI or a board certified surgeon,
- 14:40Speaker 2: then of course we're going to send you to see
- 14:41Speaker 2: somebody at that level of that caliber. But between check
- 14:44Speaker 2: in and check out, we can provide the basic surgical services,
- 14:47Speaker 2: which are going to be space neuters, lumpermovals, dental cleanings,
- 14:51Speaker 2: those kinds of procedures that are considered to be pretty
- 14:55Speaker 2: routine lacerations. So if your dog hits a barberare or
- 14:58Speaker 2: fence or bush or whatever, you know, those kinds of
- 15:01Speaker 2: things are all things that we can handle. In. I'd
- 15:02Speaker 2: say probably ninety nine percent of the stuff we get
- 15:04Speaker 2: phone calls about we can manage, and the other one
- 15:07Speaker 2: percent we help you find the right referral. And again,
- 15:09Speaker 2: not every veterinarian is suited for every client, and not
- 15:13Speaker 2: every client is suited for every veterinarian. So, for instance,
- 15:16Speaker 2: yesterday I had somebody in that said I wasn't really
- 15:19Speaker 2: crazy about the specialists that I saw. I'm like, well,
- 15:21Speaker 2: we'll find you another one because we have other options.
- 15:24Speaker 2: It's not that they were bad, it's just they didn't
- 15:26Speaker 2: like their communication and what they were offering them. So
- 15:29Speaker 2: we can help you find somebody that really meets your
- 15:31Speaker 2: needs based on what your needs are cost wise, time wise,
- 15:36Speaker 2: travel wise. You know, we have access to veterinarians in
- 15:39Speaker 2: the Madison area, in the Milwaukee and Waukeshire area, in
- 15:42Speaker 2: the Chicago area, so we have lots of choices. And
- 15:45Speaker 2: if you're of the opinion that your pet needs something
- 15:50Speaker 2: that's only offered at one place in the country, we're
- 15:52Speaker 2: going to figure out a way to get there. There's
- 15:54Speaker 2: a place in North Carolina that's doing them phoma treatment
- 15:56Speaker 2: that nobody else is doing, and we know those things,
- 15:58Speaker 2: so we can get you in with the person that's
- 16:02Speaker 2: the best suited for you. So just let us know
- 16:05Speaker 2: what you need and what your expectations are, and we're
- 16:07Speaker 2: going to work really hard to make that happen for you.
- 16:10Speaker 2: The university is doing some really cool studies on certain
- 16:13Speaker 2: kinds of cancer and other diseases, so if your pet
- 16:15Speaker 2: has one of those, some of those are funded so
- 16:17Speaker 2: that you don't have to pay the entire bill. Having
- 16:19Speaker 2: pet insurance is a great way to handle it. So
- 16:21Speaker 2: we have lots of options for how we can get
- 16:24Speaker 2: the care that your pet needs without you feeling like
- 16:27Speaker 2: you can't give them the very best. We can help
- 16:29Speaker 2: you figure out what that looks like for you and
- 16:32Speaker 2: your pet.
- 16:32Speaker 1: We talk about it always being a great day to
- 16:34Speaker 1: start that relationship, and as we talk with doctor Greer

- 17:07Speaker 1: of opportunity to start the relationship, don't forget about the

- 17:16Speaker 1: Doctor one thing two about allergies is pets experience allergies
- 17:20Speaker 1: and people sometimes experience allergies from their pet. Are there
- 17:24Speaker 1: things that people can do to you know, let's say
- 17:27Speaker 1: you have a new kiddo in the house and all
- 17:30Speaker 1: of a sudden you discover, oh, they've got a bit
- 17:32Speaker 1: of a pet allergy. Are there things that I remember
- 17:34Speaker 1: there used to be like wipes they would sell for
- 17:36Speaker 1: like cats that kind of keep the dander down. Do
- 17:38Speaker 1: they still make stuff like that? Have they gotten better?
- 17:40Speaker 1: Are there things to kind of help people manage that stuff?
- 17:44Speaker 2: Yeah? They do. So a lot of people will pick
- 17:46Speaker 2: a pet that suits there needs, like a dog that's
- 17:49Speaker 2: list likely to shed a lot for doodle. Oftentimes those
- 17:52Speaker 2: are less setting. But yes, you can have your wipes,
- 17:55Speaker 2: you can do your pet grooming, So having somebody else
- 17:57Speaker 2: do the grooming to get the loose hair in the
- 17:59Speaker 2: dam and all those things off on a four to
- 18:01Speaker 2: six week basis can really be helpful. But they make
- 18:03Speaker 2: a cat food now that makes the cats less allergic
- 18:07Speaker 2: to the people. I have no idea how it works,
- 18:09Speaker 2: Like I haven't sat down and really read the literature
- 18:12Speaker 2: on it, but it's on the commercials and I'm like,
- 18:13Speaker 2: oh my gosh, Like how cool is that? Because cats,
- 18:16Speaker 2: the things that most people allergic to with cats are
- 18:19Speaker 2: their dander and then the saliva that they groom themselves,
- 18:22Speaker 2: So having that kind of food would be a good
- 18:24Speaker 2: option for people. The other thing is some people are
- 18:28Speaker 2: allergic to cat litter and not the cat itself. I
- 18:30Speaker 2: used to work for a veterinarian who thought for years
- 18:32Speaker 2: he was allergic to the cats, and it turned out
- 18:34Speaker 2: it was a cat litter. So take a look at
- 18:36Speaker 2: everything in the environment and make sure that you're blaming
- 18:39Speaker 2: the right the right source, because it's these exchange litter
- 18:42Speaker 2: and it's hard to get rid of the cat. So
- 18:44Speaker 2: you know, take a look at what your what your
- 18:46Speaker 2: options are. You're not going to have the rest of
- 18:47Speaker 2: the family real happy if you're like, I'm not going
- 18:49Speaker 2: to have this pet in my house anymore. Some people
- 18:51Speaker 2: get more accustomed to them as they've been in the
- 18:53Speaker 2: house for a longer period of time. They kind of
- 18:55Speaker 2: hypo sensitize themselves to them. But having a groomer bathe
- 18:58Speaker 2: them and crimp clean them up regularly can be really helpful.
- 19:03Speaker 2: There are some garage or gas stations that have a
- 19:05Speaker 2: garage bay in between them that have a pet wash
- 19:08Speaker 2: station in them, but that still puts you if you're
- 19:11Speaker 2: the person allergic in that exposure situation. So if it's
- 19:14Speaker 2: you have somebody else in the family do the grooming
- 19:16Speaker 2: if you're not going to take them to a professional groomer.
- 19:19Speaker 2: Those are a nice way to you put your quarters in.
- 19:21Speaker 2: It gives you the soap, it gives you the rint,
- 19:23Speaker 2: it gives you the blow dryer, and so you can
- 19:24Speaker 2: get all that stuff done at some of those gas
- 19:27Speaker 2: stations that have the garage and the pet grooming station
- 19:30Speaker 2: at them as well. Some of the pet stores have
- 19:32Speaker 2: those too, so take a look at what your options
- 19:34Speaker 2: are instead of just paying a groomer. Grimmers are fabulous people,
- 19:36Speaker 2: and I think they do a tremendous job. And I
- 19:39Speaker 2: don't know how they trim the nails and get some
- 19:40Speaker 2: of these dogs to cooperate with them that won't cooperate
- 19:43Speaker 2: with us, But they're magical people. So please don't say
- 19:46Speaker 2: that I don't want to use a groomer, but if
- 19:47Speaker 2: you need to be bathing once a week, then a
- 19:49Speaker 2: groomer might not be a financial option.
- 19:51Speaker 1: Great, great guidance and great stuff. As always, doctor Greer,
- 19:55Speaker 1: You enjoy this great day. You have a happy Easter,
- 19:57Speaker 1: and we'll talk real soon. Thank you, And of course
- 20:00Speaker 1: you can learn more online the website check out vet
