Speaker 1: All right, so this article is from WPBF.com, West Palm Beach.com.
• 0:08
Speaker 1: The headline, Queen for a Day, How Ghislaine Maxwell Could
• 0:11
Speaker 1: Be Striking a Deal with Prosecutors. This article was authored
• 0:17
Speaker 1: by Terry Parker. As Ghislaine Maxwell's first New York court
• 0:22
Speaker 1: appearance looms next week, she could be working behind the
• 0:25
Speaker 1: scenes to hammer out a plea agreement using a federal
• 0:28
Speaker 1: court tool known as Queen for a Day. Now, when
• 0:33
Speaker 1: you use this tool called Queen for a Day, that
• 0:38
Speaker 1: means you are giving up everything. If you use this
• 0:44
Speaker 1: tool and your lawyer uses this tool, you have to
• 0:47
Speaker 1: give up every last thing you know during that session.
• 0:53
Speaker 2: If not, all of that stuff could be used against
• 0:55
  Speaker 2: you in court.
• 0:57
Speaker 1: Cooperation, cooperation, cooperation. It's not even an issue. Federal criminal
• 1:03
Speaker 1: defense attorney Greg Lerman said Maxwell's attorneys are likely urging
• 1:07
Speaker 1: her right now. And we've talked about this. 100% Ghislaine
• 1:11
Speaker 1: Maxwell's attorneys are trying to get her to talk. They
• 1:15
Speaker 1: know that she has a lot of valuable information. And
• 1:18
Speaker 1: we all know that as well. The question is, how
• 1:22
Speaker 1: much of that valuable information.
• 1:24
Speaker 2: Is going to be used.
• 1:27
Speaker 2: To get other convictions.
• 1:29
Speaker 1: And that's what the prosecutors are likely trying to figure
• 1:31
Speaker 1: out right now, what they can use to pursue other
• 1:34
Speaker 1: people and what is just junk and garbage. So I'd
• 1:39
Speaker 1: be very interested to see what this proffer agreement looks like.
• 1:43
Speaker 1: If there ever is one boy, God, I would love
• 1:45
Speaker 1: to see that. Lerman said Maxwell could be striking a
• 1:49
Speaker 1: deal using what's known as the queen for a day proffer.
• 1:54
Speaker 1: And we were just talking about that. It's a, It's
• 1:58
Speaker 1: one of those tools that the federal government uses to
• 2:00
Speaker 1: entice people with to rat on others in their criminal organization.
• 2:05
Speaker 1: Because remember, that's how these RICO cases are made. It's
• 2:08
Speaker 1: all about snatching people up that are in the organization
• 2:12
Speaker 1: and having them roll over on others and you build
• 2:16
Speaker 1: your case that way and it begins to snowball. And
• 2:19
Speaker 1: when you have so many people willing to testify, it
• 2:23
Speaker 1: becomes a real long, hard road to navigate for the accused.
• 2:30
Speaker 1: And that's what could be lining up here against Ghislaine Maxwell, right?
• 2:36
Speaker 1: Right now as we speak, there could be other people
• 2:39
Speaker 1: who are caught up in this the core four, others
• 2:42
Speaker 1: who have knowledge, whatever it may be, and their indictments
• 2:46
Speaker 1: are just sealed currently because we know that Ghislaine Maxwell's
• 2:49
Speaker 1: indictment was also sealed until the whole thing got rolling.
• 2:53
Speaker 1: So there's a lot of stuff going on behind the
• 2:56
Speaker 1: scenes right now. Obviously, I don't have an inside line
• 3:01
Speaker 1: on knowing exactly what's going on behind the scenes, but
• 3:04
Speaker 1: I will tell you this, there is a lot more
• 3:06
Speaker 1: happening than just Ghislaine Maxwell being questioned.
• 3:11
Speaker 2: Just like it says, you're the queen for the day.
• 3:14
Speaker 1: You get to talk about what you know, who you know,
• 3:17
Speaker 1: and that information cannot be used against you, said Lerman,
• 3:20
Speaker 1: who has no ties to the Maxwell case.
• 3:23
Speaker 2: And that's for sure. That's what happens.
• 3:25
Speaker 1: Anything you say that day can't be used against you,
• 3:30
Speaker 1: but you have to be completely truthful with everything you
• 3:34
Speaker 1: have ever done. And it doesn't mean that they're going
• 3:39
Speaker 1: to use what you tell them, right? Because again, it
• 3:43
Speaker 1: has to be a bigger trophy than Maxwell. They're not
• 3:47
Speaker 1: going to give her any sort of leniency if she
• 3:50
Speaker 1: is shooting down the pecking order. This is going to
• 3:54
Speaker 1: have to be a big time nail, right? A public official,
• 3:58
Speaker 1: ex or current, some sort of business mogul. And even then,
• 4:03
  Speaker 1: that's not enough, I don't think, unless it's a Les Wexner.
• 4:06
Speaker 1: But I'm very interested to see how this all plays out.
• 4:11
Speaker 1: And we see this a lot in federal cases, folks.
• 4:14
Speaker 1: Deals are cut all the time. But in this case, specifically...
• 4:35
Speaker 1: I think that Ghislaine Maxwell, while she might get herself
• 4:40
Speaker 1: cut a bit of a deal, a bit of leniency
• 4:42
Speaker 1: if she can offer something up, there is no way
• 4:46
Speaker 1: that she is ever going to get a sweetheart deal
• 4:49
  Speaker 1: out of this.
• 4:50
Speaker 2: She has done too much. She has been involved in
• 4:52
  Speaker 2: too much.
• 4:53
Speaker 1: And I don't think she has the information that's needed
• 4:57
Speaker 1: to get somebody big enough to replace her. So I'm
• 5:04
Speaker 1: very interested to see what she has, because again, I
• 5:08
Speaker 1: could be wrong, right? She might have the goods on somebody,
• 5:11
Speaker 1: a Clinton or a Trump or who else?
• 5:14
Speaker 2: Who knows who else?
• 5:15
Speaker 1: That really brings everything crumbling down around these people's ears.
• 5:20
Speaker 1: And if she has that kind of information, then you
• 5:22
Speaker 1: can most certainly, most assuredly expect her to be cutting
• 5:26
Speaker 1: a deal right now with the prosecutors as we speak.
• 5:33
Speaker 1: Prosecutors cannot use the evidence given in the session against
• 5:35
Speaker 1: the defendant, but can pursue other co-conspirators based on what
• 5:39
Speaker 1: the defendant tells them and can back up with documents
• 5:42
Speaker 1: or photos or other corroborating items. This is very interesting
• 5:47
Speaker 1: because Ghislaine Maxwell most certainly can punch down the chain, right?
• 5:52
Speaker 1: And if she wraps up maybe the all of the
• 5:54
Speaker 1: core four and say Jean-Luc Brunel in a bow, maybe
• 5:57
Speaker 1: that's enough for her to get some leniency from the courts.
• 6:01
Speaker 1: But again, when I say leniency, I highly doubt it's
• 6:05
Speaker 1: going to be anything that you would even think would
• 6:09
Speaker 1: be something you could look at and say, oh man,
• 6:11
  Speaker 1: she's catching a serious break here. Because I don't think
• 6:14
Speaker 1: she's going to be able to catch a break for
• 6:16
Speaker 1: what she has done. I think the crimes against the
• 6:19
Speaker 1: children are so heinous that a judge, if the judge
• 6:24
Speaker 1: is in their right mind, obviously, will look at all
• 6:26
Speaker 1: of the evidence and he's going to go rough on
• 6:30
Speaker 1: the defense here. And I would not be shocked if
• 6:33
Speaker 1: a jury was completely disgusted and just absolutely threw the
• 6:38
Speaker 1: book at Maxwell, no matter the information that she gave.
• 6:42
Speaker 1: So it's going to be interesting to see how this
• 6:45
Speaker 1: all plays out, folks. 100% we are in for an
• 6:48
Speaker 1: absolute wild ride right now. In this case, the deal
• 6:53
Speaker 1: would be with one person who for years was the
• 6:56
Speaker 1: key insider and by the side of accused and mysterious
• 6:59
Speaker 1: underage sex trafficker, pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. The one person who
• 7:04
Speaker 1: knows is Maxwell. She knows what happened beyond the photograph,
• 7:07
Speaker 1: beyond the toast of champagne. She knows who the skeletons
• 7:10
Speaker 1: in the closet are, who hung out with Mr. Epstein,
• 7:13
Speaker 1: who went to the island, the mansion, and she can
• 7:16
Speaker 1: provide that information, said Lerman. And this is what I
• 7:19
Speaker 1: was talking about too, right? She is the one who
• 7:21
Speaker 1: holds the keys to where all the bodies are buried.
• 7:27
Speaker 1: So again, I'm on the fence here, folks. I don't
• 7:30
Speaker 1: really know which way I'm bending as far as what
• 7:34
Speaker 1: she can give up and if that's going to be
• 7:36
Speaker 1: enough for the prosecution to get into bed with this serpent.
• 7:41
Speaker 1: It's amazing to watch how this is all unfolding right now.
• 7:45
Speaker 1: And it's amazing to think where we are and to
• 7:48
Speaker 1: where we are now, considering nobody thought Ghislaine Maxwell was
• 7:53
Speaker 1: going to get arrested anytime soon, never mind right now,
• 7:56
Speaker 1: this quickly, right? So everything's happening very fast. Everything's unfolding
• 8:01
Speaker 1: at a rapid pace. And we're just trying to keep
• 8:03
Speaker 1: up at this point. So... She has all of the dirt.
• 8:08
Speaker 1: She knows all of the people that were involved. She
• 8:10
Speaker 1: knows all of the people that were getting quote-unquote massages.
• 8:14
Speaker 1: She was the one that was in charge of procuring
• 8:16
Speaker 1: these girls. She was, according to Maria, when you listen
• 8:19
Speaker 1: to what Maria had to say, she was really good
• 8:22
Speaker 1: friends with Trump's ex-wife. And they used to drive around together.
• 8:26
Speaker 1: You know, look, she has a lot of information. And
• 8:28
Speaker 1: the fact that this case is being handled by the
• 8:33
Speaker 1: department that's in charge of... public corruption is very interesting too,
• 8:39
Speaker 1: and it's a very telling factor in this case.
• 8:46
  Speaker 2: The U.S.
• 8:46
Speaker 1: Attorney's Office has said repeatedly it is investigating possible Epstein
• 8:50
Speaker 1: co-conspirators and is looking to talk to people who may
• 8:53
Speaker 1: have information about Epstein's sex trafficking. including Prince Andrew, who
• 8:58
Speaker 1: Maxwell introduced to Epstein. And this is a very important
• 9:02
Speaker 1: factor here, right? The government wants to talk to Andrew.
• 9:05
Speaker 1: They say he's a witness. But as I talked about
• 9:08
Speaker 1: last night, I highly doubt once he's in that chair,
• 9:11
Speaker 1: he's going to be looked at as a witness. And
• 9:13
Speaker 1: if Maxwell is spilling the beans right now, and Maxwell
• 9:17
Speaker 1: is ratting out Andrew, and Maxwell hands over emails from
• 9:25
Speaker 1: Andrew about Ghislaine Maxwell to the authorities. Can you imagine
• 9:29
Speaker 1: how this could explode? Can you imagine if the FBI
• 9:34
Speaker 1: has tangible evidence as well as Virginia's statements that Andrew
• 9:39
Speaker 1: was involved in this? Can you imagine what this will do,
• 9:42
Speaker 1: how this will explode? Ghislaine Maxwell on the stand testifying
• 9:49
  Speaker 1: against Prince Andrew?
• 9:50
  Speaker 2: Oh boy.
• 9:54
Speaker 1: The only caveat, if prosecutors discover someone lies during the
• 9:58
Speaker 1: Queen for a Day session, the agreement becomes null and
• 10:00
Speaker 1: void and the information can be used against the defendant
• 10:04
Speaker 1: in court. So I think that if they offer the
• 10:06
Speaker 1: queen for a day proffer, then she'll have to give
• 10:10
Speaker 1: up Andrew and everybody else involved. But if she sticks
• 10:13
Speaker 1: to her guns and she says she doesn't want to
• 10:15
Speaker 1: talk about Andrew, this kind of proffer will be off
• 10:18
Speaker 1: the table and it will be a piecemeal kind of deal.
• 10:24
Speaker 1: Lerman said most queen for a day agreements end with
• 10:26
Speaker 1: prosecutors agreeing to fewer or lesser charges in some cases,
• 10:30
Speaker 1: filing a motion with the judge saying the cooperating witness
• 10:34
Speaker 1: should get a lesser sentence. And that's what I was
• 10:36
Speaker 1: talking about as well. It doesn't mean she's going to
• 10:38
Speaker 1: get off if she cooperates. Instead of 35, she might
• 10:41
Speaker 1: get 20. So it really comes down to what the
• 10:48
Speaker 1: judge and the jury and the prosecutors all think about
• 10:51
Speaker 1: the people that she's sending up the line, about the
• 10:55
Speaker 1: people that she's ratting on, about the people that she
• 10:58
Speaker 1: is trying to throw into the deep end to save herself.
• 11:04
Speaker 1: Maxwell 58 is being held in a small cell in
• 11:06
Speaker 1: the Metropolitan Detention Center, facing up to 35 years if
• 11:10
Speaker 1: convicted on four counts of sex trafficking minors and two
• 11:13
Speaker 1: counts of perjury. And remember, I highly doubt that these
• 11:17
Speaker 1: are the only charges. These are the charges as of now.
• 11:20
Speaker 1: But once other people start to get arrested and start
• 11:23
Speaker 1: to get brought in, you'll see more of the criminal
• 11:26
Speaker 1: conspiracy type things start to blow up. Lerman said most
• 11:31
Speaker 1: queen for a day agreements are struck early on in
• 11:33
Speaker 1: a case. She has every reason to cooperate quickly and
• 11:37
Speaker 1: not later. It is rare to happen later. It is
• 11:40
Speaker 1: more likely it is happening as we speak, said Lerman.
• 11:44
Speaker 1: And that's what I've been saying, too. The second she
• 11:46
Speaker 1: gets brought in, she's going to flip. She can't take
• 11:49
Speaker 1: the pressure from a seasoned interrogator. She's getting hammered right
• 11:54
Speaker 1: now as we speak. What do you think, the investigators
• 11:57
Speaker 1: aren't all over her, sitting down with her, letting her
• 11:59
  Speaker 1: know the deal?
• 12:00
  Speaker 2: Oh, they are.
• 12:01
Speaker 1: And Ghislaine Maxwell is not built for this life. Maxwell's
• 12:08
Speaker 1: bail hearing will be held Tuesday via video. Prosecutors are
• 12:12
Speaker 1: arguing for no bail, saying in court documents Maxwell is
• 12:15
Speaker 1: an extreme flight risk. And we've discussed that as well.
• 12:19
Speaker 1: She should not get bail. I don't care about the coronavirus.
• 12:22
  Speaker 1: I don't care if there's a smallpox outbreak. I don't
• 12:25
Speaker 1: care if there is an airborne version of Ebola ripping
• 12:29
Speaker 1: through the jail. She should not get bail. Move her
• 12:32
Speaker 1: to a different facility. I heard one guy talking today
• 12:36
Speaker 1: about moving her to Rikers Island and letting the New
• 12:39
Speaker 1: York correctional authorities keep an eye on her instead of
• 12:43
Speaker 1: the moronic feds. And I'll tell you the truth, I
• 12:46
Speaker 1: don't think I'd be upset at that either. At the
• 12:51
Speaker 1: end of the day, Maxwell has to be safeguarded like
• 12:54
Speaker 1: nobody has ever been safeguarded before. And it is up
• 13:00
Speaker 1: to the federal government to withhold their end of the
• 13:04
Speaker 1: bargain for once and make sure that this lady shows
• 13:09
Speaker 1: up ready to go in court to face those she
• 13:14
Speaker 1: abused for so long, to face all of those people
• 13:20
Speaker 1: whose lives she ruined. It is up to the federal
• 13:24
Speaker 1: government to make sure that that day arrives. And with
• 13:28
Speaker 1: their track record, well, they shouldn't be surprised that people
• 13:33
Speaker 1: have questions, that people have concerns. Ghislaine Maxwell and the
• 13:42
Speaker 1: rest of these co-conspirators, their time is up.
• 13:49
Speaker 2: The party is over.
• 13:51
Speaker 1: Names are being named and soon sentences will be distributed.
