- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey guys, Bill Krackenberger, John Randall over here at the
- 0:02Speaker 1: World Series of Poker wrapping things up. Boy, what a
- 0:05Speaker 1: difference John here than even a couple of days ago.
- 0:08Speaker 1: Getting quieter and quieter in here.
- 0:10Speaker 2: It really is. It's almost depressing, Like I don't know
- 0:13Speaker 2: if you would.
- 0:13Speaker 1: Depressing, I'd be happy to get out of it, away from
- 0:16Speaker 1: this scambling scene for a couple of days.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Did you happen to go into where we remember we
- 0:21Speaker 2: were shooting the show on the cash game section?
- 0:23Speaker 3: Did you go in there this morning? By any chance?
- 0:25Speaker 4: It's amazing ghost town.
- 0:27Speaker 1: So it reminds me there was a scene in Wall
- 0:29Speaker 1: Street two Money Never Sleeps. I like the Gordon Gecko character.
- 0:33Speaker 1: Wall Street, of course was better, but Wall Street two
- 0:35Speaker 1: was still good. It reminds me of the scene in
- 0:37Speaker 1: Wall Street two where they go to Gordon's beautiful apartment
- 0:42Speaker 1: and the only thing left is a painting on the wall,
- 0:44Speaker 1: picture on the wall. Everything is gone, and the like
- 0:46Speaker 1: they cleared the whole place out.
- 0:47Speaker 3: I love that you went in there.
- 0:49Speaker 1: Yeah, you wouldn't even know. You wouldn't even know the
- 0:50Speaker 1: World Series of Poker was here.
- 0:52Speaker 2: And you saw they cleared out even like the TV
- 0:54Speaker 2: section like the ESPN section, right, amazing, And but you
- 0:57Speaker 2: know the final final table is what August three.
- 1:00Speaker 3: Four five, So they'll recreate so.
- 1:03Speaker 2: They have the three weeks to go and they'll be
- 1:05Speaker 2: over on the horseshoe side and.
- 1:07Speaker 1: A half three weeks to go. That's where it's going
- 1:09Speaker 1: to be. Yeah, okay, cool, Yeah, yeah, no, it was.
- 1:12Speaker 4: It was.
- 1:13Speaker 1: Uh. I have a different opinion of the World Series
- 1:17Speaker 1: after being here a lot filming and seeing the money
- 1:21Speaker 1: that goes into the I had no idea. Still don't
- 1:23Speaker 1: think there should be charging twenty one percent. I can't
- 1:25Speaker 1: get over that mathematically.
- 1:26Speaker 3: But that's on the smaller events.
- 1:28Speaker 4: Smaller events, Yeah.
- 1:30Speaker 3: It's like three or four percent on the bigger ones.
- 1:32Speaker 1: No, no, take it easy, it's more and more point
- 1:35Speaker 1: five to one, I believe on the big event.
- 1:37Speaker 4: Okay, it's like eight to ten to twelve percent on
- 1:40Speaker 4: the other ones.
- 1:41Speaker 3: Okay, still worth it, you are.
- 1:42Speaker 4: Really trying to get it. Still worth it.
- 1:45Speaker 3: So did you see who the chip leader is for
- 1:48Speaker 3: the final table? No, he's twenty two years old?
- 1:51Speaker 2: Oh wow, name is Lucas Uh, phenom of a player.
- 1:56Speaker 2: His biggest cash though, I mean he's only twenty two
- 1:58Speaker 2: so he's only you know, been playing for a year
- 2:02Speaker 2: at least, you know, live tournaments in a casino.
- 2:06Speaker 4: Right.
- 2:06Speaker 2: His biggest cash this is what makes this so cool.
- 2:09Speaker 2: His biggest cash to date is twenty three thousand dollars.
- 2:13Speaker 4: Oh, I didn't know that.
- 2:14Speaker 3: He's now at the final table.
- 2:16Speaker 2: Chip leader guaranteed a million, ten million up top.
- 2:20Speaker 3: This is why the rake doesn't matter.
- 2:23Speaker 2: This is why everyone comes because where else can you
- 2:28Speaker 2: live out that type of a dream?
- 2:31Speaker 1: John, I was, and it's great. It's great as long
- 2:34Speaker 1: as people are having a good time with it.
- 2:35Speaker 3: And yeah, you.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Know, everyone thinks they're poker players and because of you know,
- 2:41Speaker 1: they glorify the chips and showing all the great life
- 2:44Speaker 1: they have. Anything on social media for the most part,
- 2:47Speaker 1: is showing what a great life they think they have
- 2:51Speaker 1: or are portraying to have.
- 2:53Speaker 4: Right, John, Look what I have for you. I was
- 2:55Speaker 4: driving in today.
- 2:56Speaker 1: I'm at a stop sign and a beautiful Las Vegas trip,
- 3:00Speaker 1: and I've seen poker training direct to you the club
- 3:05Speaker 1: WPT Poker. I said, you know what I'm gonna do.
- 3:08Speaker 1: I went on the website and I am actually contemplating.
- 3:11Speaker 1: I don't want to insult you of course from talking
- 3:14Speaker 1: about it here publicly.
- 3:15Speaker 4: Yes, you can cut it out if you want.
- 3:16Speaker 3: Never, we never cut it out.
- 3:18Speaker 4: I was thinking about getting this.
- 3:20Speaker 2: Getting me some classes and coaching. Yeah, formal training.
- 3:24Speaker 1: They that's my favorite billboard in town, by the way.
- 3:27Speaker 1: It's on the corner of Harmon in the Las Vegas
- 3:28Speaker 1: stre It is great, the rounded billboard. Yeah, so nice. Yeah,
- 3:32Speaker 1: and I think I don't know this. I'm not giving
- 3:34Speaker 1: him an advertisement, I really. If I mentioned the name,
- 3:37Speaker 1: I didn't mean to. But the poker training to site,
- 3:41Speaker 1: I said, wow, you know that's interesting. If that was
- 3:43Speaker 1: up there the whole time, I don't know if it
- 3:45Speaker 1: wasn't a during the world too. It's a great ad
- 3:47Speaker 1: people to say, man, I should learn a little bit more.
- 3:49Speaker 3: And they did. They actually did a bunch of things.
- 3:53Speaker 4: You know.
- 3:53Speaker 2: It's obviously it's competitive, right, WPT versus WSOP.
- 3:58Speaker 3: They're very competitive with each other. World Poker Tour. So
- 4:03Speaker 3: that's the other big series you know, did.
- 4:07Speaker 1: Not Yeah, I know the guy Mike that died sex
- 4:11Speaker 1: and yes, he was the guy that was WORS world.
- 4:14Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah exactly.
- 4:17Speaker 3: And he was a nice guy, very nice.
- 4:18Speaker 2: Yeah, but they they I do think they did a
- 4:22Speaker 2: really good job in trying to not steal the w
- 4:26Speaker 2: S Thunder but try to just stay put their name
- 4:29Speaker 2: in the hat. During this whole series, they did a
- 4:31Speaker 2: thing so you see how they sit. So this was
- 4:33Speaker 2: a follow up to see how they said, like poker
- 4:35Speaker 2: training direct to you, because you know they do like
- 4:38Speaker 2: the massage direct to you or escorts direct to you.
- 4:42Speaker 2: It's a takeoff of that, like we've all seen that
- 4:44Speaker 2: in Vegas, right.
- 4:45Speaker 3: So what they did last.
- 4:47Speaker 2: Like a few weeks ago or the day the main started,
- 4:49Speaker 2: like July fourth weekend. They put photos of like phil
- 4:52Speaker 2: Ivy and Phil Hellmuth and like all the legends of
- 4:56Speaker 2: the like w and they did the same thing but
- 4:59Speaker 2: made it like those guys go.
- 5:01Speaker 1: To Oh really yeah, it was pretty funny, like the
- 5:06Speaker 1: girls on the truck exactly.
- 5:08Speaker 2: And they got those trucks, oh they did, but phil
- 5:11Speaker 2: Ivy's face on it, And yeah, I don't.
- 5:13Speaker 1: Understand whoever that that giving them a plun want to
- 5:15Speaker 1: give them a plug. Those antique bruds on those trucks.
- 5:19Speaker 1: That's the same girls from the eighties. Yeah, they came
- 5:21Speaker 1: they becoming him a Cane's And I said that I
- 5:24Speaker 1: read on.
- 5:24Speaker 3: The show if they're even alive. Yeah, it's that old.
- 5:28Speaker 1: But John Overall woun't experience two people came in here
- 5:31Speaker 1: from England before the show and we're looking for you.
- 5:35Speaker 4: I'm sitting there.
- 5:35Speaker 1: They did not I have no idea who I was,
- 5:38Speaker 1: but they of course they were looking for you. And
- 5:41Speaker 1: the exposure you had this it was worth blowing. With
- 5:44Speaker 1: three hundred thousand you blew or whatever it was.
- 5:46Speaker 4: I know it was hundreds of thousands, So yeah, no,
- 5:49Speaker 4: it was worth it though.
- 5:51Speaker 2: Yeah, this really was your money. This was this was
- 5:55Speaker 2: really great for this last you know whatever. It was
- 5:58Speaker 2: seven weeks, eight weeks when it was was.
- 6:01Speaker 4: Was ready to go to sleep.
- 6:02Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I'm wiped out, man, I I you know,
- 6:06Speaker 2: this was a lot.
- 6:07Speaker 3: It's a lot to play. It's a lot.
- 6:08Speaker 2: I didn't realize just vlogging, just doing it and feeling
- 6:12Speaker 2: like you're on and entertaining. Like I know, it sounds
- 6:14Speaker 2: silly probably people watching nbelievable, unbelievab.
- 6:19Speaker 4: But what's the other guy's names?
- 6:20Speaker 2: That?
- 6:21Speaker 3: Roger and Ben two brothers.
- 6:22Speaker 1: Bro Roger Senior has Roger Senior the last couple of weeks, so.
- 6:27Speaker 2: He came right before the main started, so he's been
- 6:30Speaker 2: here a couple of weeks, a couple of weeks, but
- 6:32Speaker 2: the boys have been back to college.
- 6:35Speaker 1: Experience for these guys unbelievable, Like you know, they just
- 6:38Speaker 1: turned legal gambling age. Yeah, I mean, what an experience
- 6:41Speaker 1: for these guys. And they're already talking about my phone
- 6:44Speaker 1: number for help and kissous for sure.
- 6:48Speaker 4: Yeah, is a bed. This is bad for a while.
- 6:51Speaker 1: Kids they see this and they're in this life and
- 6:53Speaker 1: all of a sudden they leave and go back to
- 6:55Speaker 1: their home cities and there's just you.
- 6:57Speaker 2: Know, they didn't gamble one rop oh wow, really and
- 7:02Speaker 2: they've gambled before, but they they were very strict. Wow,
- 7:06Speaker 2: because they knew they were working, you know whatever. More
- 7:09Speaker 2: you know, that can change the whole thing.
- 7:12Speaker 1: But yeah, I want to talk to lead him with
- 7:13Speaker 1: that though, because you guys, you guys really had an
- 7:18Speaker 1: unbelievable seven week run. Now you're staying here.
- 7:21Speaker 4: Yeah, you're staying here.
- 7:22Speaker 3: We're gonna stay here with action junkies.
- 7:24Speaker 4: We're going down to Circa.
- 7:26Speaker 3: That's exciting.
- 7:27Speaker 4: Wise practice the sports book and.
- 7:29Speaker 3: Righted football seasons amazing.
- 7:31Speaker 4: Make sure you bring your idea there. Yes, it's amazing.
- 7:34Speaker 1: Even though I even though, like you know, when I'm there.
- 7:37Speaker 1: It doesn't matter that I do shows there on the
- 7:39Speaker 1: park where you come in have to give you. They
- 7:42Speaker 1: want to know who's in their building by these. But
- 7:45Speaker 1: you know, at first I didn't like that, you know,
- 7:47Speaker 1: and people don't like that. Safer though it's much much
- 7:50Speaker 1: safer for the crowds and stuff, but they probably won't
- 7:54Speaker 1: get some people coming in there because of that.
- 7:56Speaker 2: But also I don't know if people know that. I
- 7:58Speaker 2: think it's kind of a cool thing, like a property
- 8:00Speaker 2: like that.
- 8:00Speaker 3: No kids at Circa, Yeah, so you can't.
- 8:03Speaker 4: Even so you can't even parent. You can't book a
- 8:05Speaker 4: kid to go to the pool.
- 8:06Speaker 3: No, no, you can't, and and a family can't stay there.
- 8:09Speaker 2: So so if you're if you go to like Circa.
- 8:12Speaker 2: He built that place. It is for gambling, right, it
- 8:15Speaker 2: is for gamblers. It is for twenty one and over.
- 8:17Speaker 2: You can't even with your parents. If you're sixteen and
- 8:21Speaker 2: you're on a vacation with your parents, you're not staying
- 8:23Speaker 2: at Circa.
- 8:24Speaker 4: I find that I find that amazing.
- 8:26Speaker 3: I like it, I really do.
- 8:27Speaker 4: I find that absolutely boldness of it.
- 8:30Speaker 1: The boldness of it. John on the way in here,
- 8:32Speaker 1: I took a photo on the way in here. Uh
- 8:35Speaker 1: did you notice that lucky boxes outside?
- 8:38Speaker 4: Yes, there're these things.
- 8:39Speaker 1: He's now this one says hunt for the Holy Grails
- 8:44Speaker 1: and it's when beyond a Christine ten certified guarantee. That's
- 8:49Speaker 1: the advertisement on the box is a is this Pristine
- 8:53Speaker 1: ten certified thing?
- 8:55Speaker 4: But you know when I see that, I.
- 8:58Speaker 1: I just know from just being around that that something
- 9:02Speaker 1: something's up there. There's no way you're going to get
- 9:04Speaker 1: that kind of a card or anything in there. There's
- 9:07Speaker 1: a chance you can get it. But they also sell jerseys,
- 9:10Speaker 1: they sell you know, I say, well, there's a button
- 9:14Speaker 1: you could press random.
- 9:16Speaker 3: You don't know what you're gonna get.
- 9:17Speaker 1: Pokemon, Pokemon thing that. There's all different things like that
- 9:21Speaker 1: in there.
- 9:22Speaker 2: And I would think that they do have that one
- 9:25Speaker 2: card in there though, because the get.
- 9:29Speaker 1: Really I shouldn't say, I don't maybe by law, if
- 9:31Speaker 1: they're governed by they're in a lot of the casinos.
- 9:33Speaker 1: I don't know if they're if they're you know, looked
- 9:37Speaker 1: at from the you know, I I don't know if
- 9:39Speaker 1: there's an agency that goes around and opens every single
- 9:42Speaker 1: box to make sure there is that one beyond it
- 9:44Speaker 1: that's on the outside of the screen.
- 9:46Speaker 4: You know. I don't know if that's there, but.
- 9:49Speaker 2: I mean the PR you'd get by someone pulling that card,
- 9:52Speaker 2: I think would be worth putting that.
- 9:54Speaker 1: The PR you would get, I think, and we're going
- 9:57Speaker 1: to talk about that too, about just a gambling space
- 9:59Speaker 1: and honorable about PR. But I immediately called my friend
- 10:04Speaker 1: down down a Myrtle Beach that has the card store.
- 10:06Speaker 1: I called him when I was outside. I sent them
- 10:08Speaker 1: the photo and he said, that could be your average
- 10:13Speaker 1: return if you're putting ninety nine dollars in is probably
- 10:15Speaker 1: around fifteen bucks. I was like, what, No way, I
- 10:19Speaker 1: forgot I how to be like eighty five dollars or something.
- 10:21Speaker 1: He goes, no way, no way. So I just I
- 10:26Speaker 1: don't know about those lucky boxes.
- 10:28Speaker 4: I don't.
- 10:28Speaker 1: I just think and I think it promotes gambling for days.
- 10:33Speaker 1: So the kids are seeing that's oh dad, I can't gamble.
- 10:35Speaker 4: Let me press that button on the lucky box, you know.
- 10:40Speaker 1: Speaking of which, though, my friend David, I went to
- 10:42Speaker 1: the UFC match with him the other night and shout
- 10:46Speaker 1: out to him. He's got a sports cards plus and
- 10:48Speaker 1: Myrtle Beach. He's got a great card Shore South Carolina.
- 10:51Speaker 1: There got to be the best store in Myrtle Beach.
- 10:54Speaker 1: He just told me, I said, Dave, if I was
- 10:56Speaker 1: to go in and buy Pokemon cards off you, why
- 10:59Speaker 1: would I go retail when I can go on eBay.
- 11:03Speaker 4: I didn't realize.
- 11:03Speaker 1: He said, well, eBay is going to charge you like
- 11:06Speaker 1: fifteen percent, so automatically you're paying up fees. He said,
- 11:10Speaker 1: we can beat any price. I was like, I was
- 11:12Speaker 1: pretty surprised. I'm in a shameless plug for David. But
- 11:15Speaker 1: ye sure, yeah, no, he he said. He even said
- 11:19Speaker 1: there's sealed Pokemon selection after I han't shown him this
- 11:21Speaker 1: box and Pokemon single selection is top tier.
- 11:24Speaker 4: Whatever that means. There is a shameless plug.
- 11:27Speaker 1: So if you're into sports cards, they have a lot
- 11:29Speaker 1: of stuff travel on Myrtle Beach on vacation.
- 11:31Speaker 4: Uh.
- 11:32Speaker 1: They posted it, and then he has a collection in
- 11:34Speaker 1: the story. He said it's not for sale. I said,
- 11:36Speaker 1: wait a minute, why would you have a whole case
- 11:38Speaker 1: of stuff that's not for sale. That's my private stuff,
- 11:41Speaker 1: not for sale. I was like, wow, okay, so but
- 11:43Speaker 1: people can see it.
- 11:44Speaker 4: You could see it. Yeah.
- 11:45Speaker 1: Yeah, they're the real deal though, so check them out though.
- 11:48Speaker 1: Again sports cards, plus they're at Myrtle beach.
- 11:51Speaker 4: All right.
- 11:51Speaker 1: So I have a bunch of things. I don't know
- 11:55Speaker 1: if I can get to them all. But one is
- 11:59Speaker 1: when I live. I lived at Veer Towers on the
- 12:01Speaker 1: Strip here, which is right at city Center. Beautiful location,
- 12:04Speaker 1: the two yellow towers that are curved towers there.
- 12:07Speaker 3: I don't know if I realized you lived there.
- 12:09Speaker 1: I lived there for years, yeah, for years, And when
- 12:11Speaker 1: they first built there, I lived in that high rise there.
- 12:14Speaker 3: Great view of the strip, great view of the strip.
- 12:16Speaker 1: The wind noise was really really bad though. If it's windy,
- 12:19Speaker 1: it was like a like Space Invaders out there.
- 12:20Speaker 3: Is that why you left?
- 12:21Speaker 1: That's why we left. Literally, yeah, that's why we left.
- 12:24Speaker 1: And it's still bad, but not as bad. They put
- 12:26Speaker 1: some things up, but yeah, so.
- 12:30Speaker 4: It was great. It was.
- 12:31Speaker 1: It was a great spot. I have a I'm in
- 12:34Speaker 1: a high rise now that I still love. I still
- 12:37Speaker 1: I'm a high rise guy.
- 12:38Speaker 4: I love safe.
- 12:41Speaker 1: But however, going over that high rise, going over walking
- 12:44Speaker 1: over to Cosmo, I remember a shell game that was
- 12:50Speaker 1: always these guys always playing shell games. And then they
- 12:53Speaker 1: had a three card Canti when I was in New York,
- 12:57Speaker 1: when I was a kid, So I remember these guys
- 13:01Speaker 1: on the street playing the shell game find.
- 13:02Speaker 4: A little cloth ball by the way.
- 13:05Speaker 1: Multiple locations won by Treasure Island, one by all the casinos. Really,
- 13:09Speaker 1: I'm not trying to name any casino. It's not their
- 13:10Speaker 1: fault the public sidewalk. But this guy was arrested here
- 13:16Speaker 1: and the scammer used psychological trap to steal thousands a
- 13:21Speaker 1: Miami grifter accused of stealing cash and rolllex in games.
- 13:24Speaker 4: And I mean, are people this pullible?
- 13:28Speaker 1: Yes they are, Yes they are, because I knew somebody
- 13:32Speaker 1: that's on his way to work. See these casino executives
- 13:36Speaker 1: sometimes they see this big money going back and forth
- 13:40Speaker 1: at tables and their customers, and they just want to
- 13:43Speaker 1: be that person sometimes, you know, and don't realize how
- 13:45Speaker 1: hard it is to be a gambler or be it
- 13:47Speaker 1: you know, and what people gamble over their head and
- 13:50Speaker 1: whatever whatever whatnot. So he actually played one day and
- 13:54Speaker 1: I was like, are you out of your mind? Cause
- 13:55Speaker 1: I want to see what it was like. I lost
- 13:56Speaker 1: one hundred bucks. So now what happens is they have
- 13:59Speaker 1: a bunch of guys all cheering, they're all they're all
- 14:03Speaker 1: with the group.
- 14:04Speaker 4: Yeah, this guy won. I mean, they make it look
- 14:06Speaker 4: so obvious.
- 14:06Speaker 1: They really, they really shouldn't make it to look that obvious,
- 14:09Speaker 1: but they do.
- 14:10Speaker 4: And I just want to tell people, just be aware
- 14:13Speaker 4: you have done it. I could tell no.
- 14:15Speaker 3: I remember of seeing when I was little that you're
- 14:17Speaker 3: not gonna win.
- 14:18Speaker 4: Where do you see when you were a little though?
- 14:20Speaker 4: Or oh New York? Okay, we're all over.
- 14:22Speaker 2: New York and they have and they'll have like a
- 14:24Speaker 2: tapers on the corners and then they packed that.
- 14:26Speaker 3: They pack it up quick when the cops are coming.
- 14:29Speaker 4: Yeah, they work cops. John.
- 14:32Speaker 1: Did you see the yellowstone the bison that hit the
- 14:36Speaker 1: kick the guy in the air?
- 14:37Speaker 4: Did you see that that video?
- 14:40Speaker 3: Follow that page?
- 14:41Speaker 1: The charge they charged this this, I mean, look at
- 14:44Speaker 1: the guy gets thrown in the air. Oh yeah, the
- 14:47Speaker 1: older man too. But they stood a pretty decent ways
- 14:51Speaker 1: away from the bison. They stood and he's a you
- 14:56Speaker 1: could just see, I mean, it looks like it's close
- 14:58Speaker 1: when it is they weren't that close. So this bison
- 15:02Speaker 1: was in a bad mood though. You could just see
- 15:04Speaker 1: the way he was huff and puffing. And this is
- 15:07Speaker 1: a grandfather and his grandson, and the bison actually got
- 15:11Speaker 1: mad when a truck drove by the truck drove by.
- 15:15Speaker 1: Now the bison got mad at the truck. He went
- 15:17Speaker 1: after the grandfather hurled him in the air. I actually
- 15:20Speaker 1: felt bad for them because they weren't really I didn't
- 15:23Speaker 1: think they were close enough where, but obviously they were,
- 15:26Speaker 1: because some people do get way too close, way too close.
- 15:29Speaker 1: The reason why I'm bringing up the story is it
- 15:32Speaker 1: just pisses me off that they wanted to youthanize the
- 15:36Speaker 1: wild bison. You know, I always have an animal segment
- 15:39Speaker 1: to the story. Yeah, so they're not going to I'm sorry.
- 15:44Speaker 1: The bison was just being a bison.
- 15:46Speaker 4: I'm sorry.
- 15:47Speaker 1: I mean, they want a euthanize. So anyway, I'm glad
- 15:49Speaker 1: that that that turned out. Okay, World Cups here, John, Well,
- 15:54Speaker 1: now we're going to the finals.
- 15:57Speaker 4: I kind of changed my stance on World Cup a
- 15:59Speaker 4: little bit.
- 16:00Speaker 2: It.
- 16:00Speaker 4: I actually not that I was.
- 16:01Speaker 1: Tough against it, but I wasn't really that I got
- 16:03Speaker 1: to watch a couple of games.
- 16:04Speaker 4: I actually enjoyed it.
- 16:05Speaker 1: I think it was okay, Like you were really against it,
- 16:07Speaker 1: I think you even changed I did.
- 16:09Speaker 2: But Joe Cattap, you know, was on Roger that and
- 16:14Speaker 2: I told he's a huge soccer fan and I told him,
- 16:16Speaker 2: I said, hey, help me get into soccer. Give me
- 16:19Speaker 2: a long shot that could win. And he said, Norway
- 16:22Speaker 2: thirty five to one.
- 16:23Speaker 4: Right, so you buried everyone on that.
- 16:25Speaker 2: So we threw one hundred bucks on Norway, and uh
- 16:28Speaker 2: we watched the game, and uh, it definitely.
- 16:31Speaker 3: Helps if you know, there's a little sweat right to it.
- 16:34Speaker 4: But yeah, I enjoyed watching.
- 16:36Speaker 3: I like that guy Holland he was fun to watch.
- 16:38Speaker 2: They ended up losing, but yeah, I mean I still
- 16:41Speaker 2: don't think I would seek it out and watch a game,
- 16:45Speaker 2: but I, okay, I get it. I guess little Roger
- 16:49Speaker 2: put it in perspective because I would complain about a
- 16:52Speaker 2: two to one score. You know, I'd go, like, two
- 16:54Speaker 2: to one is boring. He goes, okay, so that's fourteen
- 16:56Speaker 2: to seven in a football game.
- 16:57Speaker 3: Okay, three scores, right, yeah, yeah, so what you think about.
- 17:01Speaker 1: You watch a hockey game, it's still low scoring like that, right,
- 17:04Speaker 1: You probably don't like hockey either.
- 17:05Speaker 2: Though I like it more than soccer, but yeah I don't.
- 17:09Speaker 2: I can't watch it on TV.
- 17:11Speaker 4: Okay, all right, anywhere there because.
- 17:14Speaker 2: I'm a baseball fan, which, by the way, did you
- 17:16Speaker 2: watch the All Star Game?
- 17:17Speaker 4: Last night.
- 17:18Speaker 3: Did you even know the All Star Game was?
- 17:20Speaker 4: I know I was there, and I knew they had
- 17:21Speaker 4: the home run derby the other night, and.
- 17:22Speaker 2: I missed all of it, didn't realize it was even happening.
- 17:25Speaker 2: I mean, I know All Star Breaker is mid July,
- 17:28Speaker 2: of course, but like, it.
- 17:29Speaker 1: Just didn't It was in Philadelphia. It must have been
- 17:31Speaker 1: great for the city. Yeah, you know, it's funny how
- 17:34Speaker 1: we grew up.
- 17:34Speaker 3: I don't even know who won American League. I'm assuming
- 17:37Speaker 3: they always win.
- 17:38Speaker 1: They were the National League's favorite, so that's the last
- 17:43Speaker 1: I see it. I don't know the final score. But anyway,
- 17:46Speaker 1: I grew up loving baseball. John, Yeah, I don't have
- 17:48Speaker 1: time for it anymore.
- 17:49Speaker 4: Right, I want to go to games. I want to
- 17:51Speaker 4: there's no time for it.
- 17:52Speaker 1: I'll see you in the postseason, right, the postseason is great, great, fantastic.
- 17:56Speaker 4: Yeah, but this article.
- 17:59Speaker 1: Was how how good Vegas did because of the World
- 18:01Speaker 1: Cup on a pretty dead time of the year. They
- 18:04Speaker 1: had a lot of people here internationally, not just coming
- 18:07Speaker 1: for the World Series of Poker. They came into you know,
- 18:11Speaker 1: we had the guy that made this background here. He
- 18:13Speaker 1: was from Turkey, wasn't he. Yes, he came in for
- 18:15Speaker 1: to go see Turkey versus met Ye, the United States, yep.
- 18:19Speaker 4: And this was a stopping ground over here. Yep.
- 18:22Speaker 2: I'm so glad you just said that too, because I
- 18:24Speaker 2: wish the boys were in here right now, because you know,
- 18:27Speaker 2: we've been here. We've been on the strip every day
- 18:29Speaker 2: since May twenty six. Listen to me, Vegas is far
- 18:34Speaker 2: from dead. This is the dumbest narrative. I have a
- 18:37Speaker 2: thing on that we went to in and out on
- 18:40Speaker 2: a random like Wednesday night last week. Yep, at one
- 18:43Speaker 2: o'clock in the morning, it was packed, packed, couldn't find
- 18:47Speaker 2: a seat.
- 18:48Speaker 3: Crazy.
- 18:48Speaker 4: Even last night last night was packed.
- 18:51Speaker 2: We were on the strip pulling out of here, packed,
- 18:54Speaker 2: the foot traffic in front of the Blogium from the fountain,
- 18:56Speaker 2: It's packed. We were at Caesar's last night, ridiculously packed.
- 19:02Speaker 1: I went the Mother Wolf last week packed, packed, packed,
- 19:05Speaker 1: getting some great comps. Thank god for some people that
- 19:07Speaker 1: are coming to town. But okay, to ask our English
- 19:10Speaker 1: friends here, you guys come from out of town. Now,
- 19:12Speaker 1: are you here for the World Cup or the World Series?
- 19:16Speaker 1: The World Series? Okay, just a crossover and you you
- 19:19Speaker 1: stayed in town. You stayed in town for a couple
- 19:22Speaker 1: more days. But was were you watching the World Cup
- 19:24Speaker 1: games too? A horseh okay?
- 19:27Speaker 4: Cool? And you came here for John? I like that,
- 19:30Speaker 4: t me after the show. Nice.
- 19:37Speaker 3: See there you go, there you go, there you go,
- 19:39Speaker 3: thank you, thank you? All right?
- 19:41Speaker 4: Good. At least someone likes him, see Bill, Yeah he's
- 19:44Speaker 4: got one guy.
- 19:45Speaker 1: But anyway, all right, so uh it was it. This
- 19:48Speaker 1: article was how good Vegas was doing. Yeah with the
- 19:51Speaker 1: international traffic. It reminded people of the Formula one last year,
- 19:55Speaker 1: and people used that this is this article is the
- 19:58Speaker 1: same thing. So LA was the closest I believe stadium
- 20:02Speaker 1: that had the World Cup.
- 20:03Speaker 4: People came in.
- 20:04Speaker 1: Vegas for a couple of days and go to LA
- 20:06Speaker 1: and watch a game that I think that's fantastic. The
- 20:08Speaker 1: World Cup base really really Las Vegas. It doesn't have
- 20:12Speaker 1: really a place to host the matches.
- 20:14Speaker 4: They said.
- 20:15Speaker 1: Allegiance Stadium is indoors, the air conditions excellent.
- 20:18Speaker 4: We have.
- 20:18Speaker 1: They've convinced football players to work there, but they don't
- 20:21Speaker 1: know if it would work for soccer soccer players. So
- 20:26Speaker 1: I thought that was an interesting, interesting article. And John's
- 20:30Speaker 1: funny you say about there's an article here that talked
- 20:34Speaker 1: about maybe the foot traffic was down, but the spending
- 20:37Speaker 1: and the gambling is actually up in Las Vegas for
- 20:40Speaker 1: the last year. So yes, they say Las Vegas is
- 20:43Speaker 1: that I think people just want a little bit of
- 20:46Speaker 1: a buzz.
- 20:46Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 20:47Speaker 1: These streamers put it out there Vegas is dead. They
- 20:49Speaker 1: take a photo or a video at four in the morning. Yeah,
- 20:51Speaker 1: you know, like, but I don't think Vegas is dead
- 20:55Speaker 1: at all. I'm I'm in the casinos, you know, I
- 20:58Speaker 1: live a minute from the strip here, so I I
- 21:00Speaker 1: see it all the time. And anyway, this another article
- 21:05Speaker 1: here is about I thought there was this kind of
- 21:09Speaker 1: interesting John.
- 21:10Speaker 4: I talked about this on the show just recently.
- 21:12Speaker 1: But the article just came out though July thirteenth, So
- 21:15Speaker 1: it just came out two days ago. The gambling tax
- 21:19Speaker 1: height hike all the states. What they're doing. The article
- 21:24Speaker 1: it is on site. I never heard of site in
- 21:26Speaker 1: game dot com gambling tax talk. If you strangle the
- 21:30Speaker 1: golden goose too much, it will stop laying eggs. So
- 21:35Speaker 1: this is about the five different states that already had
- 21:40Speaker 1: ridiculous tax structure and now they have went to what
- 21:44Speaker 1: you understand Vegas. In Nevada, you know, we had like
- 21:48Speaker 1: a ten percent tax. Actually, I don't know the real
- 21:50Speaker 1: the rate. I should know that. I think it's around
- 21:51Speaker 1: ten percent. I know it's not too much more or
- 21:54Speaker 1: too much less. I think it's like nine something percent.
- 21:56Speaker 1: So now this is the tax rates across each state
- 22:00Speaker 1: what they charge to these sports books for their.
- 22:04Speaker 4: Their tax in state tax.
- 22:07Speaker 1: Perfect example, most of the states were fifteen to twenty
- 22:09Speaker 1: one percent. New Jersey was thirteen percent. They were the
- 22:14Speaker 1: first to when passport was repealed, they went from thirteen
- 22:18Speaker 1: to nineteen point seventy five.
- 22:20Speaker 4: So a lot of the states here it shows you
- 22:23Speaker 4: what they have upped. There.
- 22:24Speaker 1: You have states like New York at fifty percent. It's unbelievable.
- 22:27Speaker 1: But the volume there. They are the capital there, they're
- 22:31Speaker 1: a sports beting capital. One I told about last week
- 22:32Speaker 1: was North Carolina going from eighteen to twenty three percent.
- 22:36Speaker 1: But the real one out of all these states that
- 22:38Speaker 1: have just ridiculously pumped up their rate, it has to
- 22:43Speaker 1: be Illinois.
- 22:45Speaker 4: I'll just tell you the other one's first sold her honor.
- 22:47Speaker 1: Maryland went from fifteen to twenty Louisiana went from fifteen
- 22:51Speaker 1: to twenty one and a half. Illinois, which was fifteen percent,
- 22:55Speaker 1: had a sliding scale of like twenty to forty depending
- 22:58Speaker 1: on what kind of a bet or what kind of
- 23:01Speaker 1: They went to fifty percent plus. They added a per
- 23:05Speaker 1: wager tax in June a year ago, and in the
- 23:09Speaker 1: city of Chicago its own per wager tax. There's like
- 23:14Speaker 1: multiple taxes in the city now the state it's under.
- 23:17Speaker 1: The effective tax rate in Illinois has jumped from fifteen
- 23:20Speaker 1: percent when they went live in twenty nineteen over fifty
- 23:24Speaker 1: percent now. It's just out of control that the states
- 23:28Speaker 1: looked to sports betting or i'll just say even eye
- 23:31Speaker 1: gaming and look to take all the money them, all
- 23:36Speaker 1: the money they can. It's actually forcing some of the
- 23:38Speaker 1: companies to go out of business. There's no money in
- 23:40Speaker 1: it for them. The smaller companies, they would treat it,
- 23:44Speaker 1: I guess as branding. So the big sports companies would
- 23:48Speaker 1: treat it as a branding. That's the only way I
- 23:51Speaker 1: could say it. Also, Google has tightened its rules for
- 23:57Speaker 1: gambling ads. I'm all about this, you know, me think
- 24:00Speaker 1: it's too much out there, the gambling ads for the
- 24:02Speaker 1: youth and.
- 24:03Speaker 4: For just for normal people.
- 24:05Speaker 1: So they've tightened their gambling rules even for prediction markets.
- 24:09Speaker 4: So which is.
- 24:10Speaker 1: Gambling by the way, so they have it's you know,
- 24:13Speaker 1: that's like the number one search engine.
- 24:15Speaker 4: I would think Google has got to be it.
- 24:16Speaker 1: Yeah, but yeah, so now they have they started in
- 24:19Speaker 1: August first, they have a crackdown on their ads that
- 24:24Speaker 1: they're selling and they're making money selling these things, but
- 24:26Speaker 1: they are they are tightening their advertising rules, especially even
- 24:30Speaker 1: for the social casinos and the Sweep States casinos, which
- 24:35Speaker 1: that's gambling.
- 24:36Speaker 4: It is what it is, you know.
- 24:37Speaker 1: I see some influencers have these social and these and
- 24:41Speaker 1: these Sweep States casinos and they're they've had went around
- 24:45Speaker 1: a loophole to be legal in all the states. And
- 24:48Speaker 1: even now the prediction markets that were the big big ones,
- 24:52Speaker 1: the sportsbooks have gotten to the prediction markets and they
- 24:55Speaker 1: went around loopholes, were legal in all fifty state Like
- 24:58Speaker 1: they they say that because they're saying it's not gambling,
- 25:01Speaker 1: but uh, it is, whether it's directly or indirectly, it's
- 25:07Speaker 1: my opinion, it's gambling. You're betting, you're buying contracts by sell.
- 25:12Speaker 4: But you you.
- 25:13Speaker 1: Haven't, you haven't really the last seven eight weeks, you
- 25:16Speaker 1: haven't really probably paid attention to a lot of the
- 25:17Speaker 1: gaming news.
- 25:18Speaker 4: But did you know, did you know that.
- 25:20Speaker 1: Now I've seen DraftKings says we're legal in fifty states,
- 25:23Speaker 1: and people think, oh draft is legal now finally you
- 25:25Speaker 1: know here there you can't make a bet with Draft Kings.
- 25:28Speaker 3: That ever change here probably not here, not here.
- 25:31Speaker 4: Well everything can change.
- 25:33Speaker 1: I didn't think sports betting was ever going to be
- 25:35Speaker 1: repealed in all the states.
- 25:37Speaker 4: But look at look at look at the out look
- 25:38Speaker 4: at that. It's politics. Look at the it's politics.
- 25:40Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 25:40Speaker 1: So yeah, they they but just to see the prediction markets.
- 25:47Speaker 1: Now crossing over to the states that they had no
- 25:51Speaker 1: gambling Texas, Florida, California. But you have to check what
- 25:54Speaker 1: your local state because still here in Nevada is technically
- 26:00Speaker 1: legal to play on those they have geo fencing around,
- 26:04Speaker 1: like Kyle she and so there's there's geo fencing around
- 26:06Speaker 1: where you won't be able to bet from Nevada.
- 26:09Speaker 4: You know.
- 26:09Speaker 1: It's the same line from casino mister raustein you're all
- 26:12Speaker 1: just our guest, you know, And uh yeah, this even
- 26:15Speaker 1: though DraftKings is here right down the street.
- 26:18Speaker 4: Yeah, it doesn't matter.
- 26:19Speaker 1: They they're real strict on on on the actual who
- 26:23Speaker 1: gets in who doesn't get in town John we want
- 26:27Speaker 1: to jump over to a wager wire this week's segment.
- 26:30Speaker 3: I didn't get to look at it yet.
- 26:31Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm gonna tell you what it is, A three
- 26:33Speaker 1: leg future parlay, and the future is was I hope
- 26:36Speaker 1: I say his name right? French Open Champion winner is
- 26:41Speaker 1: zerof my senate right, z V E R E V
- 26:44Speaker 1: anybody no zerofe No? No tennis fans take it? Sounds
- 26:47Speaker 1: good Alexander's I've heard of him though I heard of them.
- 26:50Speaker 1: So he was a small, small underdog plus one forty
- 26:54Speaker 1: Carolina Hurricanes correct score. This guy had plus four fifty.
- 26:58Speaker 1: The original wager was only two twenty one bucks, so
- 27:01Speaker 1: twenty one dollars to win two thousand and seventy nine.
- 27:04Speaker 1: Now he needs England winner of the final World World
- 27:10Speaker 1: Cup here five hundred and twenty dollars bet. It was
- 27:13Speaker 1: a four hundred and ninety nine dollars profit. I want
- 27:15Speaker 1: to tell you John, looking at this. I look at this,
- 27:19Speaker 1: and I say, you're going a twenty dollars better. You
- 27:21Speaker 1: might want to take a little something here and get
- 27:25Speaker 1: involved in probably taking on a partner or a cash
- 27:29Speaker 1: out value of doing something. You know, Like I said,
- 27:33Speaker 1: you have one more leg to go here.
- 27:36Speaker 2: You know what, everyone I talk to you says, England
- 27:38Speaker 2: is gonna win.
- 27:39Speaker 3: Everyone that is, everybody says it. Really okay, I kind
- 27:44Speaker 3: of want him to go for it.
- 27:46Speaker 1: He but and you know, you looking at the bet,
- 27:49Speaker 1: I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with the World Cup finals here,
- 27:52Speaker 1: but England is I'm looking at a freeway line. It
- 27:55Speaker 1: looks like to me England is the favorite there plus
- 27:58Speaker 1: one fifty five Argentina plus two hundred to tie plus one.
- 28:02Speaker 1: That's regular time though, so if you go all wagers though, yes,
- 28:07Speaker 1: did England is a.
- 28:08Speaker 3: But anything can happen.
- 28:09Speaker 4: It's sports, right, anything can happen.
- 28:11Speaker 3: Would you jump in on this with this guy?
- 28:13Speaker 1: Well, you can, actually, if you can hedge on the
- 28:15Speaker 1: two way line, I think that's the way to go.
- 28:18Speaker 1: You you can probably hedge on it, but you have
- 28:21Speaker 1: to have an out. If you're a twenty dollar better,
- 28:22Speaker 1: you have to have money to hedge on this. So
- 28:26Speaker 1: I think it is an interesting bet here.
- 28:28Speaker 4: And and.
- 28:30Speaker 1: I think that, you know, since they are in the
- 28:33Speaker 1: finals here, I would think this is worth much more.
- 28:36Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 28:36Speaker 1: Actually, yeah, it says England playing Argentina here, which I
- 28:39Speaker 1: realized now he sent me this email at a different time.
- 28:42Speaker 1: So this BET's actually worth more. It's worth about nine
- 28:45Speaker 1: hundred dollars. So I would definitely either take on a
- 28:48Speaker 1: partner get some money now twenty or a twenty dollar better.
- 28:51Speaker 1: So either take take on a partner, or find a
- 28:53Speaker 1: way to hedge wagerwire dot com and the wager wire app.
- 28:57Speaker 1: Get over there and check out there. There are different
- 28:59Speaker 1: things you can find some value there. And it's really
- 29:02Speaker 1: hard sometimes for me to say that because a lot
- 29:05Speaker 1: of I'm not a parley better parlays is a losing
- 29:08Speaker 1: formula kind of wave the white towel at that. But
- 29:12Speaker 1: you know, once in a while, I'll take a shot
- 29:14Speaker 1: at something weird. I'll play maybe a Wheel of Fortune
- 29:19Speaker 1: machine to listen. I don't play games less. You're usually
- 29:23Speaker 1: a mathematical edge of a bonus structure or something on it.
- 29:26Speaker 1: But if I'm giving a deal up front, some cash back.
- 29:30Speaker 1: But when I see, you know, a twenty five cent
- 29:32Speaker 1: Wheel of Fortune, it usually pays at a million bucks.
- 29:34Speaker 1: It's up to two point two million or something. Yeah, Well,
- 29:36Speaker 1: this this gentleman that I'm going to talk about first.
- 29:39Speaker 1: Because there wasn't a jackpot at the airport, which I
- 29:41Speaker 1: don't play airport slots because they're even more of a
- 29:44Speaker 1: higher hold. Right, But once in a while, you find
- 29:47Speaker 1: a gym or find something somewhere, you have to know
- 29:49Speaker 1: the mats behind the things. So I looked at the
- 29:54Speaker 1: Las Vegas Journal. They had two point two table game
- 29:57Speaker 1: jackpot that was hit on a Las Vegas strip. This
- 30:00Speaker 1: guy playing Ultimate Texas Hold Him, which is a very
- 30:02Speaker 1: famous popular game, I should say amongst people now that
- 30:05Speaker 1: were playing table this is one of the first table
- 30:06Speaker 1: games that people really enjoyed besides regular blackjack or you know,
- 30:10Speaker 1: they enjoyed. This game was at a bonus structure. So
- 30:13Speaker 1: this is a little side bet. This guy, George Lee,
- 30:16Speaker 1: visiting from Los Angeles, pucked down a five dollars side
- 30:18Speaker 1: bet he was playing, and he won two point two million.
- 30:22Speaker 1: Congratulations to him. But just know, even the one at
- 30:25Speaker 1: the airport, they put these things up because they show, hey.
- 30:29Speaker 4: This can be you. You could be next.
- 30:30Speaker 1: You know, even the lottery commercials, you gotta be in
- 30:32Speaker 1: it to win it.
- 30:33Speaker 4: It's only a dollar and a dream.
- 30:35Speaker 3: All these yeah, you.
- 30:35Speaker 1: Know they're just not for me. I always know that
- 30:40Speaker 1: they're they're tough to hit, but when you play I
- 30:43Speaker 1: have seen John playing blackjack.
- 30:45Speaker 4: He loves his side bets, so.
- 30:47Speaker 2: I call blackjack this side bet I called blackjack. Pair
- 30:51Speaker 2: the square, now that's crazy. Pair of the square is
- 30:54Speaker 2: the bet? Or trylux? Do you know what the trilux
- 30:56Speaker 2: bet is? Have we talked about this?
- 30:58Speaker 3: You told me two cards plus the dealers up card.
- 31:03Speaker 2: So if you get three of a kind or if
- 31:04Speaker 2: you make a straight, it pays ten to one, a
- 31:06Speaker 2: flush pays five to one, straight places ten to one,
- 31:09Speaker 2: three of a kind pays twenty to one, and a
- 31:11Speaker 2: straight flush plays thirty to one.
- 31:13Speaker 1: I can imagine we're not even saying anything and is
- 31:16Speaker 1: saying it.
- 31:17Speaker 4: It's a double digit house edge.
- 31:20Speaker 3: I'm but sometimes they come in bunches.
- 31:23Speaker 1: You know, when they have the warnings at the end
- 31:25Speaker 1: of the watch, like America's got talent, don't try this
- 31:28Speaker 1: at home, don't try this at home.
- 31:30Speaker 3: No gamble, no future.
- 31:32Speaker 1: That's ridiculous, ridiculous, no good, No, he doesn't like it.
- 31:36Speaker 4: We try to get this is why.
- 31:38Speaker 1: W I why try to give out the why side
- 31:41Speaker 1: of things. Listen, if it's fun, you want to have
- 31:43Speaker 1: some fun with it, but long term you're gonna get destroyed.
- 31:47Speaker 3: And I still say, free bet is the way to go.
- 31:50Speaker 1: Oh boy, no, that's that's definitely a bad game. It's
- 31:54Speaker 1: a free bet, but they put in your split. Yeah,
- 31:57Speaker 1: but there's rules on the game that make it much higher.
- 32:00Speaker 1: Twenty two is it? That's such a real number. It
- 32:03Speaker 1: happens all the time.
- 32:04Speaker 3: Yeah, but you don't think them paying your doubles and splits.
- 32:09Speaker 4: Me. It's the math of the game. There's no way.
- 32:11Speaker 1: It's definitely a giant house game, much worse than double
- 32:14Speaker 1: deck blackjack, even much worse than six deck or eight
- 32:16Speaker 1: deck blackjack, six to five blackjacks, but better than them.
- 32:21Speaker 2: Isn't there something to be said about a serious question?
- 32:24Speaker 2: Isn't there something to be said about a small sample size?
- 32:27Speaker 2: Like I feel like the math on all the games?
- 32:28Speaker 2: What what's the game called free bet blackjack?
- 32:31Speaker 4: But let's you see free bet blackches.
- 32:33Speaker 2: But isn't the math based on such a you know,
- 32:35Speaker 2: it's based on a million hands or whatever, and in
- 32:38Speaker 2: a small sample size you could get hot and you
- 32:41Speaker 2: could get four double downs in one shoe.
- 32:45Speaker 1: No, I'm wrong, Well, it's it's it's it's not as
- 32:48Speaker 1: bad as I thought. Okay, because there's an optimal strategy
- 32:53Speaker 1: here so free bet blackjack odds are competitives.
- 32:56Speaker 4: Trust me, John didn't know this. You know, you know
- 33:00Speaker 4: you'll be in the.
- 33:01Speaker 1: Homeless shelter with him playing these side games. But with
- 33:06Speaker 1: optimal strategy one point four percent not as good as
- 33:10Speaker 1: double deck blackjack, with optimal only slightly higher on a
- 33:13Speaker 1: traditional blackjack, which you know is a little bit over
- 33:15Speaker 1: one percent, but it's half a percent of double deck
- 33:18Speaker 1: but not as bad.
- 33:18Speaker 4: John surprised. Yeah, free bet blackjack, all right, whatever, Yeah,
- 33:24Speaker 4: but you know you have.
- 33:25Speaker 1: To know optimal strategy, like John twelve, verse three, are
- 33:29Speaker 1: you hitting? You know you have to know the strategy first.
- 33:31Speaker 3: I'm not, but I know the book says to do it.
- 33:33Speaker 4: Books does to do it. You're right. Let's go over
- 33:36Speaker 4: to did you hear about this thing with Bryce Harper?
- 33:38Speaker 3: No?
- 33:39Speaker 1: So, Bryce Harper hired by one of the sports books too.
- 33:45Speaker 1: Let's call it Entice, a big they're high rollerskay, first
- 33:49Speaker 1: one of the sports books. So I want to read
- 33:51Speaker 1: you the first paragraph. It's all over media, the big
- 33:54Speaker 1: news in sports betting. Thurs there was an article that
- 33:56Speaker 1: appeared to Philadelphia Inquire revealings Philly Starr. Bryce Harper recorded
- 33:59Speaker 1: a video for a vip Better at one of the
- 34:02Speaker 1: sportsbooks who assists since sued the online sports betting operator
- 34:06Speaker 1: for creating an app that caused a gambling addiction, costing
- 34:09Speaker 1: him one point five million. But so this was a
- 34:13Speaker 1: probably a private message from one of their sponsors. But
- 34:16Speaker 1: it might be no different than Lebron James or Kevin
- 34:19Speaker 1: Hard or anything they're on TV enticing you. This is
- 34:23Speaker 1: a personal message from Bryce Harper. I don't know what
- 34:26Speaker 1: it said. I don't know if it said, hey, Joe,
- 34:28Speaker 1: keep on going. If it addressed to John, it doesn't
- 34:30Speaker 1: take much. Yeah, I keep it going. Okay, where do
- 34:33Speaker 1: I write?
- 34:33Speaker 4: You know?
- 34:33Speaker 1: And so yeah, thanks Bryce, come in, you know. But
- 34:37Speaker 1: uh so, anyway, it's it's it's an interesting thing that
- 34:40Speaker 1: came up. And I think the sports books are being
- 34:43Speaker 1: looked at a little more strongly because of enticing people
- 34:47Speaker 1: with these kind of practices. Even though the sports book
- 34:50Speaker 1: that this happened, they said, it's committed to fostering a
- 34:53Speaker 1: culture of responsible gambling and protecting our customers. So and
- 34:58Speaker 1: and you know, unlike the illegal off short sports book,
- 35:01Speaker 1: their employees are trained to recognize and flag signs a
- 35:03Speaker 1: problem gambling. I have seen I have seen some of
- 35:07Speaker 1: those apps come up. You've been on here for an hour,
- 35:10Speaker 1: like you are you okay? Yeah, I've seen that. By
- 35:13Speaker 1: the way, I'm not. I mean, it's it's something. It's
- 35:15Speaker 1: some help, but but you're gonna make your own. It's
- 35:17Speaker 1: it's closet gambling. No one's around, you know, one's watching it.
- 35:20Speaker 2: And if you had Bryce host a slot tournament, then
- 35:23Speaker 2: it's okay. Or if he hosted a blackjack tournament, that's okay.
- 35:26Speaker 2: But if he sends you a video, it's interesting.
- 35:28Speaker 4: I don't think John.
- 35:30Speaker 1: I want to close with a big subject here in
- 35:33Speaker 1: the World Series of Poker Gambling World.
- 35:35Speaker 3: Yeah, I know what you're gonna say.
- 35:36Speaker 1: So the Southern col poker player played here that I
- 35:41Speaker 1: think he was in the main events and can cast
- 35:43Speaker 1: out some money, but he casts a lot of other things.
- 35:45Speaker 1: He takes his backpack, walks out of the World Series
- 35:48Speaker 1: parking garage, goes home to his airbnb. Two guys supposedly
- 35:53Speaker 1: hot tied him, stole his backpack, and and.
- 35:56Speaker 4: Got out with the money.
- 35:58Speaker 1: So crazyretty crazy, pretty crazy. And this guy though, has
- 36:03Speaker 1: a very good reputation from what I'm reading. Jared Greneer,
- 36:06Speaker 1: we actually were thinking about gettinghim on the show, and
- 36:08Speaker 1: he was going to come on, but now he since
- 36:10Speaker 1: hired a lawyer.
- 36:11Speaker 4: He said, I guess so.
- 36:12Speaker 3: Yeah. I didn't speak to him directly, but it was
- 36:14Speaker 3: someone else.
- 36:15Speaker 4: That what's the lawyer for.
- 36:17Speaker 3: I don't know, maybe uh, the company or something.
- 36:22Speaker 1: But this is the reasons why we've talked about this
- 36:26Speaker 1: all the time. Gotta be careful. John and I both
- 36:32Speaker 1: have a concealed weapons permit. You know, don't the world
- 36:37Speaker 1: series is over here. You're not getting much of John,
- 36:39Speaker 1: but you may get the you.
- 36:40Speaker 4: Know, the piece.
- 36:41Speaker 3: I didn't make it to the cash out, to the
- 36:43Speaker 3: payout lines, you know.
- 36:44Speaker 4: No.
- 36:44Speaker 1: But on a serious note, though, he said, I was
- 36:48Speaker 1: hog tied and stuck there for a while trying to escape,
- 36:51Speaker 1: and finally got out and ran out of the house
- 36:54Speaker 1: called the name were Luckily I am physically unharmed. This
- 36:56Speaker 1: was the most terrific, terrifying. Sorry, it's the most terrified
- 37:00Speaker 1: and traumatic, traumatic experience in my life. All my money
- 37:03Speaker 1: is gone, he wrote, so, which led some people in
- 37:06Speaker 1: the poker world to say, do you have backers? Are
- 37:08Speaker 1: you staging? Some of the people just say all these
- 37:11Speaker 1: these different things.
- 37:12Speaker 3: But that's what I'm reading that's a long way to
- 37:14Speaker 3: go to Yeah.
- 37:15Speaker 1: From from what I'm reading, you know, people said he's
- 37:18Speaker 1: a high stakes poker player. Game that doesn't mean nothing
- 37:24Speaker 1: to you. Guys have ten million learnings. They're dead broke.
- 37:26Speaker 1: So but however, but there's some people that that said, hey,
- 37:31Speaker 1: he's a high stakes competitive player in a lot of
- 37:34Speaker 1: games around town and a lot of games. He has
- 37:37Speaker 1: a real good reputation and stuff. So but I don't
- 37:39Speaker 1: know how much money was stolen. But this just shows
- 37:41Speaker 1: you again, Now, this happened at the World Series of
- 37:43Speaker 1: Poker at the Rio, multiple time, marking lot later, So
- 37:47Speaker 1: this happened.
- 37:49Speaker 4: You gotta keep your head on the swivel.
- 37:50Speaker 1: And this town in any gambling we talk about Pennsylvania, Jersey.
- 37:54Speaker 1: How many people there's been people killed in Pennsylvania that
- 37:58Speaker 1: were followed home from the casino over the minimum money.
- 38:02Speaker 3: There's a lot of guys here cashing for deep six
- 38:05Speaker 3: figure land.
- 38:06Speaker 1: Even here, they know what you're cashing for, and a
- 38:09Speaker 1: lot of them stuff in their backpack and walk out
- 38:12Speaker 1: to the parking garage and someone follows.
- 38:14Speaker 4: You to you go eat after or whatever it may be.
- 38:16Speaker 1: Yeah, it's the reason why I never want to people
- 38:20Speaker 1: think from like the the Showtime show. I did action,
- 38:23Speaker 1: like when they wanted me to, oh can you get
- 38:25Speaker 1: one hundred thousand dollars?
- 38:26Speaker 3: No, it's not what I do.
- 38:28Speaker 1: I don't carry My money's in the apps, you know,
- 38:31Speaker 1: I like you would be upset, you know, unless I'm
- 38:36Speaker 1: joining their contest or something. Once in a while I'll do.
- 38:38Speaker 4: That, but I'll have I'll have you know, you guys people. Yeah,
- 38:42Speaker 4: so it's uh, it's a dangerous town though, but they
- 38:45Speaker 4: all are.
- 38:46Speaker 1: I'm not picking on Las Vegas here in general, very dangerous,
- 38:50Speaker 1: uh gambling world. Know, if you make these scores, you
- 38:54Speaker 1: have to watch yourself and and and know your surroundings
- 38:58Speaker 1: be with some people. And that's just something we're gonna
- 39:01Speaker 1: see what's gonna happen here. But it's a big story
- 39:03Speaker 1: in the poker world. And then happened after the main event.
- 39:05Speaker 3: Crazy.
- 39:06Speaker 1: So next week, guys, we're back down. We're gonna start
- 39:09Speaker 1: at Circle next week. Look forward to that. John Action
- 39:11Speaker 1: junkie is still over here until you get thrown out. Yeah,
- 39:15Speaker 1: some action junkies over here. Look forward to seeing you
- 39:18Speaker 1: guys next week. On Wisecracks,
