Transcript
- 0:08Speaker 1: Sure it's time love. No no, no, no, no, no, no no.
- 0:15Speaker 1: Welcome to the Naughty but Nice Sharm't your host from Shooter.
- 0:19Speaker 1: It is Wednesday today. Our dear friend Donnie is off.
- 0:22Speaker 1: I hope you're having a great day, Donnie, but don't worry.
- 0:24Speaker 1: We've got a ton of gossip of news to get to.
- 0:27Speaker 1: So let's jump right in naughty ease. What time is it,
- 0:30Speaker 1: my friends? It is Are you ready? It is tea time.
- 0:34Speaker 1: I hope you're singing a long Okay, big story at
- 0:36Speaker 1: the top of the show. Kanye West has been banned
- 0:41Speaker 1: from the UK. So banned, the festival has been canceled,
- 0:45Speaker 1: and the fallout explodes. So Kanye's attempt and come back
- 0:51Speaker 1: has just hit a brutal wall. The UK has officially
- 0:55Speaker 1: denied him entry, triggering at the sudden cancelation of the
- 1:00Speaker 1: Wireless Festival and sending shock waves through the music world.
- 1:05Speaker 1: Let me explain. Sources say the decision stems from his
- 1:09Speaker 1: past anti Semitic remarks we all know, those hate hate hate,
- 1:16Speaker 1: with officials ruling that his presence is not conductive to
- 1:22Speaker 1: the public good. Sponsors have dropped out, including Pepsi, Pressure
- 1:27Speaker 1: Mounted and finally, the plug was pulled. Whose idea was it?
- 1:33Speaker 1: Whose idea to book Kanye at this joyous music festival.
- 1:40Speaker 1: I get they won a big star. I get they
- 1:41Speaker 1: want a big headliner, but Kanye West, really that's who
- 1:47Speaker 1: they booked. So West insists he has changed. It's interesting
- 1:51Speaker 1: he's not denying what he said. He put out a
- 1:54Speaker 1: record praising Hitler, so it's there. He said it. It
- 1:59Speaker 1: will live forever. So he insists that he's changed, though
- 2:02Speaker 1: he did say it. But he has changed, he said,
- 2:05Speaker 1: even offering to meet with Jewish leaders how day. But
- 2:09Speaker 1: the damage is already done now. Some fans are divided,
- 2:12Speaker 1: critics are loud about this, but one thing is clear.
- 2:16Speaker 1: Redemption is proving far harder than any headline grabbing comeback performance.
- 2:22Speaker 1: So if he thinks you can say this stuff, if
- 2:23Speaker 1: anybody thinks they can say such hateful, such evil stuff,
- 2:28Speaker 1: and then just move on, I've changed. Not me. I'm
- 2:31Speaker 1: not that person anymore. No, there are consequences. I get it.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Some of my friends will call this cancel culture. I
- 2:39Speaker 1: call it consequence culture. There's consequences to everything we do
- 2:44Speaker 1: in life. We learn that as children, don't we if
- 2:47Speaker 1: we misbehave, there's a consequence. That consequence is up to
- 2:50Speaker 1: your parents, but there is a consequence, and so I
- 2:54Speaker 1: think in adult life too, there needs to be consequences.
- 2:57Speaker 1: You can say and do what you want. We have speech,
- 3:01Speaker 1: thank goodness in America. However, I don't have to listen.
- 3:05Speaker 1: I don't have to buy your albums. I don't have
- 3:07Speaker 1: to support you. This is what is so heartbreaking about
- 3:11Speaker 1: this situation. Kanye is performing in LA and he's sold
- 3:15Speaker 1: millions and millions of tickets. He's made up to twenty
- 3:19Speaker 1: thirty million of his performances in the USA. However, Britain
- 3:25Speaker 1: has said enough, We're not doing this. We don't want
- 3:29Speaker 1: this as a society, we don't want this as a culture.
- 3:33Speaker 1: We don't want you here in Britain spreading hate. They're
- 3:37Speaker 1: worried about a lot of things. They're worried about riots.
- 3:40Speaker 1: They're worried about Nazis coming out. There are near Nazis
- 3:43Speaker 1: in Britain and they are worried that they could demonstrate,
- 3:46Speaker 1: they could rally around Kanye. They don't think it will
- 3:49Speaker 1: be safe for people inside the concert. There are thousands
- 3:53Speaker 1: of people there, a lot of people who did not
- 3:55Speaker 1: buy tickets to see Kanye, but the other people on
- 3:58Speaker 1: the bill. It was a fester and so they were
- 4:01Speaker 1: scared that if I bought ticket for ex artists and
- 4:04Speaker 1: then Kanye came and started spreading hate. And what's that
- 4:08Speaker 1: crowd going to do? Are they going to dance or
- 4:09Speaker 1: they get a riot? It is all so toxic, It
- 4:12Speaker 1: is all so dangerous that the Brits have said absolutely not.
- 4:18Speaker 1: I've got a new report today on my sub second
- 4:20Speaker 1: exclusive about Kim's reaction to this. Kim knows who Kanye is. However,
- 4:25Speaker 1: he is the father of her children and that's where
- 4:28Speaker 1: her focus is. And this is heartbreaking, heartbreaking to Kim
- 4:32Speaker 1: because her kids will see this. I hope her kids
- 4:35Speaker 1: are not punished for their father's sins, but they have
- 4:38Speaker 1: the last name West. When these kids get a little older,
- 4:43Speaker 1: they will always be Kanye's kids. And this is a
- 4:46Speaker 1: man who is so dangerous. He's been banned from a
- 4:49Speaker 1: country banned. Think about that for a minute. We don't
- 4:52Speaker 1: want you here, We don't want you here spreading hate.
- 4:55Speaker 1: It has been said loud and clear. And now that
- 4:57Speaker 1: Britain has been brave enough to do this, other countries
- 5:00Speaker 1: will follow, Other European countries or other countries around the world.
- 5:04Speaker 1: Kanye is not going to go anywhere. He has severe
- 5:07Speaker 1: mental health issues that he's talked about. He has said
- 5:10Speaker 1: some of the most appalling things I've ever heard of
- 5:13Speaker 1: a public person ever ever say. But he still does
- 5:17Speaker 1: have some fans. And that's what's so interesting about this
- 5:21Speaker 1: new world that we live in. You can be very
- 5:24Speaker 1: successful with a micro audience. Gone are the days of broadcasting.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Gone are the days where we all listened to the
- 5:30Speaker 1: same artists. We all watch the same movie, we all
- 5:32Speaker 1: read the same book, we all watch the same TV show. Now, no, no,
- 5:35Speaker 1: that doesn't exist anymore. I have friends who talk about
- 5:38Speaker 1: TV shows I've never heard about. I have pals who
- 5:41Speaker 1: are listening to music I've never heard about artists. It's
- 5:44Speaker 1: all now about you, curating, you, editing your own experiences.
- 5:50Speaker 1: Thanks to the online revolution, we now decide what we
- 5:53Speaker 1: want to see, when we want to see, how we
- 5:55Speaker 1: want to see. This person makes me laugh, You've never
- 5:57Speaker 1: heard of them. That person makes you laugh, I've never
- 6:00Speaker 1: heard of them. We all have our own individual experience,
- 6:02Speaker 1: and I think it's because we have our individual screens now,
- 6:05Speaker 1: our phones. We're not watching a television five six of
- 6:08Speaker 1: us two three of us sitting around watching the same
- 6:11Speaker 1: show we're or watching it individually, often on our headsefts, always,
- 6:16Speaker 1: always when we're with our phones. And so it has
- 6:18Speaker 1: changed the world. It has changed the world now so
- 6:20Speaker 1: you can be successful. You can be with a very
- 6:23Speaker 1: small loyal audience who are willing to pay. And that's
- 6:26Speaker 1: what Kanye has got, that got Unfortunately, I don't think
- 6:29Speaker 1: the audience is small enough. It's still a large audience
- 6:31Speaker 1: he has, but it is nothing where, nowhere near what
- 6:35Speaker 1: he used to have. So decent people have walked away
- 6:38Speaker 1: from Kanye. However, a lot of people have not. They
- 6:41Speaker 1: still enjoy his music, They know who he is, and
- 6:44Speaker 1: they have decided they are able to put that to
- 6:46Speaker 1: one side. They're not going to focus on that. They're
- 6:48Speaker 1: just going to focus on the music, which brings us
- 6:50Speaker 1: to our pole question of the day. Kanye has been
- 6:53Speaker 1: banned from the UK? Can you still enjoy Kanye's music?
- 6:58Speaker 1: Can you separate the artist from the person? Can you
- 7:04Speaker 1: support somebody who you know is really evil? What do
- 7:08Speaker 1: you think? It's a tricky one, isn't it? Yes or no?
- 7:11Speaker 1: With Kanye? I think the answer hopefully is a little
- 7:14Speaker 1: bit clearer, but it does get fuzzy. Michael Jackson accused
- 7:18Speaker 1: of horrific crimes children, horrific, horrific, unspeakable crimes. He was
- 7:24Speaker 1: never found guilty, but can you still enjoy Michael? It's
- 7:28Speaker 1: a really fascinating debate. What do you think? Can you
- 7:32Speaker 1: separate Kanye from his music? K Go vote on our
- 7:36Speaker 1: Twitter page at Naughty nys rob. Our facebook page is
- 7:39Speaker 1: Naughtry Gossip and be sure to check back to Ama
- 7:42Speaker 1: rot to hear your results. Okay, moving along, Savannah Guffrey
- 7:46Speaker 1: has returned to The Today Show and our Friends at
- 7:48Speaker 1: page six Mara, who is a fabulous reporters, revealing that
- 7:52Speaker 1: there were some strict orders from her co host to
- 7:55Speaker 1: her co hosts from the network. They didn't want the
- 7:58Speaker 1: show to be about now see Guthrie. They wanted business
- 8:02Speaker 1: as usual. So on camera it was smooth, it was
- 8:05Speaker 1: polished off camera, lots of teas, lots of hugs. Savannah said,
- 8:08Speaker 1: it's good to be home. She was very calm, really
- 8:12Speaker 1: really poised throughout the broadcast. I think this was a good,
- 8:16Speaker 1: good suggestion that they didn't want the air anchors to say,
- 8:20Speaker 1: oh Savannah, I'm so sorry. And then they did a
- 8:23Speaker 1: cooking segment or Oh Savannah, your news is just so heartbreaking,
- 8:27Speaker 1: I love you, and then do a fashion segment. They
- 8:30Speaker 1: didn't do that. They addressed the ugly situation right at
- 8:33Speaker 1: the top of the show, and then they moved on
- 8:36Speaker 1: with business as usual. That's tricky, isn't it, because business
- 8:39Speaker 1: will never be usual for Savannah ever. Ever again. I
- 8:43Speaker 1: have a new report today on my substack breaking this
- 8:46Speaker 1: morning that it's not just the anchors, it's actually everybody
- 8:50Speaker 1: at NBC. Everybody at NBC has been told to give
- 8:53Speaker 1: Savannah some space. She is like a beatle. She is
- 8:57Speaker 1: like Taylor Swift. At the moment when she walks into
- 8:59Speaker 1: the third floor. Their offices are on the third floor.
- 9:02Speaker 1: When she gets in the elevator and goes to that
- 9:03Speaker 1: third floor, everybody in the elevator, everybody in the hallway,
- 9:06Speaker 1: everybody in the lobby wants to stop her and hook her.
- 9:08Speaker 1: It's natural, it's beautiful, it is kind. However, this is
- 9:12Speaker 1: a place of work, and so staff have been told
- 9:15Speaker 1: not just anchors. Page six are reporting it's the anchors.
- 9:18Speaker 1: My reporting is pretty much everybody in the building has
- 9:20Speaker 1: been told be kind, be nice, but give her space.
- 9:24Speaker 1: They don't want people rushing into the elevator to talk
- 9:27Speaker 1: to her, to hug her. They don't want people chasing
- 9:30Speaker 1: her down hallways to take selfiers, and so this is
- 9:33Speaker 1: a very very delicate moment. I think she's handling it
- 9:37Speaker 1: just beautifully, and I think the staff are handling it beautifully. Well.
- 9:40Speaker 1: They're good people over there. They're not as close as
- 9:42Speaker 1: they all pretend to be. That big, one happy family
- 9:45Speaker 1: is not really the reality of any job, not just TV,
- 9:48Speaker 1: but any job. When you think about it, where you work,
- 9:50Speaker 1: you might all think your one big family till somebody
- 9:52Speaker 1: leaves and you don't see them again. I used to
- 9:55Speaker 1: work in a PR office and the office next to
- 9:57Speaker 1: me was my pal Susan. I love to We got
- 10:00Speaker 1: lunch together pretty much every day, We got coffee together
- 10:03Speaker 1: maybe at four o'clock every day, and when I left,
- 10:06Speaker 1: I stopped seeing her. We still sort of occasionally text
- 10:09Speaker 1: for a while, but that has sort of dribbled out too,
- 10:11Speaker 1: And so if you'd asked me during that moment, I
- 10:14Speaker 1: would have said, Susan is family. But it's just not true.
- 10:17Speaker 1: It's just not true. There's a difference, isn't there between
- 10:20Speaker 1: work colleagues and family that could be blurred to relatives
- 10:23Speaker 1: or family by choice. Give Savannah some space. This story
- 10:28Speaker 1: is exploding. I can't get enough of it. So Howard
- 10:30Speaker 1: Stern has been hit with a lawsuit by an ex
- 10:33Speaker 1: aide claiming that there was a hostile workplace. So Howard
- 10:37Speaker 1: is facing explosive claims from a former insider who is
- 10:41Speaker 1: saying working for the Radio King was intensely personal and
- 10:45Speaker 1: bizarre at times, and they had a lot of rules.
- 10:48Speaker 1: Let me name her. So ex assistant Leslie Kahn alleges
- 10:52Speaker 1: that she was forced into sweeping NDAs covering everything from
- 10:56Speaker 1: the couple's eating cabits, what restaurants they went to, to,
- 10:59Speaker 1: where they were travel to their hobbies, and even political views.
- 11:04Speaker 1: Everything was off limits. I don't think that's that unusual.
- 11:07Speaker 1: I know people that work for big celebrities and they
- 11:10Speaker 1: all sign NDA's and you're not allowed to go out
- 11:12Speaker 1: with your friends, are to a bar and tell secrets.
- 11:15Speaker 1: You're not allowed to tell about political arguments, disagreements, discussions
- 11:19Speaker 1: you've heard in the house. If they like to get
- 11:22Speaker 1: at certain restaurants, they don't want that lead to the
- 11:24Speaker 1: press and their travel schedules. They want to keep that
- 11:27Speaker 1: private too. So I do think this is actually as
- 11:30Speaker 1: buzz are as people are saying. So. The lawsuit, though,
- 11:34Speaker 1: does paint a picture of a very high pressured household.
- 11:36Speaker 1: I'm assuming it would be. He's worth millions and millions
- 11:40Speaker 1: of dollars. And she said that she did oversee beth'stern.
- 11:44Speaker 1: That's Howard's wife, Animal Rescue operation. Beth has done heroes
- 11:50Speaker 1: work for animals, she really has. I've met her several times.
- 11:54Speaker 1: She's a great person. I even know people who have
- 11:56Speaker 1: adopted animals because of Beth. But all that ended and
- 12:01Speaker 1: the staffer was abruptly fired, and then she claims that
- 12:04Speaker 1: she was owed some bonuses a raise. Howard, Beth, give
- 12:08Speaker 1: her the bonus, give her the raise, and walk away.
- 12:11Speaker 1: This isn't worth the fight. It sounds to me like
- 12:14Speaker 1: a disgrd employee. I'm not sure of The work environment
- 12:19Speaker 1: is hostile. I know people who work for Howard who
- 12:21Speaker 1: know Beth. They're really nice, they're all business. They do
- 12:26Speaker 1: not play. You're not friends with him. I know people
- 12:28Speaker 1: who have worked on the Howard Show for yours. They
- 12:31Speaker 1: really like him, but they're not nice friends. In fact,
- 12:32Speaker 1: some of them don't even have his phone number. They
- 12:34Speaker 1: do the job Howard and Beth have their own friends.
- 12:37Speaker 1: They don't want staff being friends. They separate work from pleasure,
- 12:41Speaker 1: and that's why he is one of the most successful
- 12:43Speaker 1: media people in the world. He knows how to do
- 12:46Speaker 1: the job. He turns up, he's focused, he does a
- 12:48Speaker 1: great job, and then he goes home to his beautiful wife,
- 12:51Speaker 1: his beautiful family, all his animals, and has a lovely life.
- 12:54Speaker 1: There's no shame in that. There's nothing wrong with that.
- 12:56Speaker 1: And I also think too, in this world that we
- 12:59Speaker 1: live in, of the Beth Ankles and the TikTok stars
- 13:01Speaker 1: and people who are coming at us all day, all
- 13:05Speaker 1: day long than our social media feeds, it's really refreshing
- 13:09Speaker 1: to find an old school celebrity like Howard who wants
- 13:13Speaker 1: some privacy. He said, I do my job, I'm public
- 13:16Speaker 1: for three four hours a day, but then I'm private.
- 13:21Speaker 1: This is my private life. I've never ever had that
- 13:25Speaker 1: level of fame myself. I've been around people who are
- 13:28Speaker 1: that famous. Very often makes me wonder, where is that
- 13:31Speaker 1: line between public and private? I get it. I like
- 13:35Speaker 1: my private life. I like being with Bruce. There's nobody
- 13:38Speaker 1: There's nothing I would rather do than just get dinner
- 13:40Speaker 1: with Bruce. I've got a big, big party and some
- 13:43Speaker 1: events coming up to celebrate my book, which I'm thrilled about.
- 13:47Speaker 1: But let me be honest, I can tell you a
- 13:48Speaker 1: little secret here. I'd rather just have dinner with Bruce
- 13:51Speaker 1: sh Now, if you're coming to the book events, please come.
- 13:54Speaker 1: I'm not discouraging you from coming. I don't want to
- 13:57Speaker 1: shoot myself in my foot here. I am so great,
- 14:00Speaker 1: but I'm not a natural party animal. I'm good with
- 14:04Speaker 1: my inner cirtle when I have drinks with Misty or Donnie,
- 14:08Speaker 1: Carrot Cory or a fave Loopy Lou. When I have
- 14:11Speaker 1: drinks with them, I am a lot, and I talk
- 14:14Speaker 1: a lot and I laugh a lot. But when I'm
- 14:16Speaker 1: with people I don't really know. It does not have
- 14:18Speaker 1: to be the Rob Shooter Show every minute of every day. Okay, quickly,
- 14:22Speaker 1: before we get a break. Chloe Feynman, who's on SNL,
- 14:25Speaker 1: is under fire, and so is Vanity Fair for posting
- 14:27Speaker 1: this really bizarre story of her. So, Chloe is facing
- 14:30Speaker 1: some serious backlash after a jaw dropping confession surfaced, and
- 14:34Speaker 1: it's not land in as comedy the SNL style. Revealed
- 14:37Speaker 1: to Vanity Fair, she was in a video that she
- 14:39Speaker 1: was fired as a teen in counsel at a camp
- 14:43Speaker 1: after she pulled down a young campers pants as paycheck,
- 14:48Speaker 1: and the story has blown up online. Some people said
- 14:51Speaker 1: it's child abuse and exposing someone's genitals to get a laugh,
- 14:55Speaker 1: or to be cruel or to have payback is disgusting.
- 14:59Speaker 1: Will Vanity fair Now, I was in damage control and
- 15:01Speaker 1: they have trimmed that video. I've noticed that video has
- 15:04Speaker 1: been trimmed. Not funny, cruel, almost abusive. What are you
- 15:08Speaker 1: doing asking somebody what was their worst job? What's a
- 15:11Speaker 1: funny thing that's happened at work? Is a great question.
- 15:13Speaker 1: I often ask it to celebrities, to friends. I often
- 15:16Speaker 1: talk about it myself. I've had some really wacky, really
- 15:19Speaker 1: fun jobs when I was just starting out, and that's funny,
- 15:23Speaker 1: It's really great. However, this is abuse and sexual and
- 15:28Speaker 1: pulling down someone's pants not funny. Ooh, really creepy. Okay,
- 15:33Speaker 1: We're going to take a quick break and we will
- 15:35Speaker 1: be right back. Welcome back to the Naughty but Nice
- 15:39Speaker 1: I'm the home strum shooter. Hey naughties, let's get to
- 15:42Speaker 1: the polls Dull. Last show, we talked about Savannah's emotional
- 15:47Speaker 1: return to the Today Show and asked is it too soon?
- 15:49Speaker 1: She kept a brave face, but behind the scenes lots
- 15:52Speaker 1: of tears. Is it too soon? Sixty percent said yes,
- 15:55Speaker 1: I think I agree. I'm not sure I would be
- 15:58Speaker 1: back this quickly. Sure I could do that every morning
- 16:02Speaker 1: with so much going on in my private, private life.
- 16:05Speaker 1: We're sending you our best, Hey, don't forget to vote
- 16:07Speaker 1: on today's poll. Will go to our Twitter page add
- 16:10Speaker 1: naughty nice rob Our facebook page is already gossip and
- 16:14Speaker 1: be sure to check that termorrow to hear your results.
- 16:19Speaker 1: And now it's time for the nicest of the Day, Ah,
- 16:24Speaker 1: and nicest of the day is Anna Winter, who's on
- 16:26Speaker 1: the cover of Vogue with Meryl Streeps. So if you
- 16:28Speaker 1: remember when the first Evil Ware's Priora came out, it's
- 16:30Speaker 1: about Anna Winter Miranda Priestley. In the movie is Anna Winter.
- 16:34Speaker 1: Anna kept a distance, didn't support it, didn't want much
- 16:37Speaker 1: to do with it. Well, now all those years later
- 16:40Speaker 1: and the sequels coming at Anna is fully in. She
- 16:43Speaker 1: presented at the Oscars, and now she's promoting it on
- 16:48Speaker 1: the cover of Vogue magazine. I hear the movie is
- 16:51Speaker 1: a lot of fun, maybe not as good as the original,
- 16:54Speaker 1: but still a lot of fun. And it's delicious to
- 16:56Speaker 1: see all these characters that we love again. So I'm
- 16:59Speaker 1: excited for it its premiere, as in just a couple
- 17:02Speaker 1: of weeks I've been invited to the premiere here in
- 17:04Speaker 1: New yorkst. I'll tell you all about it. But it
- 17:06Speaker 1: is interesting, isn't it. What once was something you didn't like,
- 17:10Speaker 1: as this happened to you, something that was embarrassing, something
- 17:12Speaker 1: that you did not want out there became an asset
- 17:15Speaker 1: that dever Wes Prior had turned Annah Winter into a superstar.
- 17:18Speaker 1: She was always known in the fashion business, always in
- 17:20Speaker 1: the magazine business, in the publishing business, media business, but
- 17:23Speaker 1: she was not known to people like my mom and dad,
- 17:26Speaker 1: my family, my sister would never have heard of Annah Winter.
- 17:28Speaker 1: But now they have because of Miranda Priestley. And so
- 17:31Speaker 1: be careful. Take a minute when something happens and you
- 17:35Speaker 1: don't think you like it, hold you know was just
- 17:38Speaker 1: for a second and think how all this play out,
- 17:40Speaker 1: Because what might seem as a disadvantage and embarrassment could
- 17:45Speaker 1: become something that is great. You never know. And and
