- 0:00Speaker 1: Do you have a storage unit that you've been holding
- 0:02Speaker 1: onto for months, if not years? Do you tell yourself
- 0:05Speaker 1: that this will be the month you finally go close
- 0:07Speaker 1: it down after that rent payment clears, but it's still
- 0:10Speaker 1: there month after month? This is Trey from the Treehouse Show,
- 0:13Speaker 1: and if this is you, you need OPT services. Call
- 0:17Speaker 1: OPT services, and they'll give you a free estimate on
- 0:19Speaker 1: clearing out your storage unit, but then they'll show you

- 0:56Speaker 2: It is time.
- 0:58Speaker 3: To leave your worries outside and laugh with us inside
- 1:01Speaker 3: the treehouse. I'm Dan O'Malley along with Trey Trenholm and
- 1:05Speaker 3: Jerry Caldwell at the end of our broadcasting week here
- 1:10Speaker 3: inside the treehouse. Jerry, you were not here yesterday for
- 1:14Speaker 3: yesterday's episode when Trey told us how he's kind of viral.
- 1:20Speaker 3: I don't know if you noticed, but Trey is not
- 1:23Speaker 3: only into yoga now, but he's also into puppy yoga
- 1:27Speaker 3: and he has recorded videos of himself doing puppy yoga
- 1:32Speaker 3: with his new puppy, Lily. One of those videos has
- 1:35Speaker 3: really taken off on Instagram. I don't know if it's
- 1:38Speaker 3: because Trey's so cute or if Lily's so cute, or
- 1:42Speaker 3: if it's because people think it's really cute when Trey
- 1:44Speaker 3: farted on his puppy, Lily.
- 1:48Speaker 2: If I'm being honest, it might be all three.
- 1:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:50Speaker 4: Right.
- 1:51Speaker 1: I think me being cute is the latter of the list. Yeah.
- 1:57Speaker 1: Just being honest.
- 1:59Speaker 3: I would love to build you up as a good
- 2:01Speaker 3: friend here and be like, no trade.
- 2:02Speaker 1: No.
- 2:03Speaker 2: But in this scenario, you are the bottom rung. Yes.
- 2:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Puppies. Number one, the funny fart reaction from the puppies.
- 2:12Speaker 2: Number two. And you're number three, even.
- 2:13Speaker 3: Though without you, none of those things happen.
- 2:16Speaker 2: Right.
- 2:18Speaker 3: You're the glue that brings it all together. Although I'm
- 2:22Speaker 3: hoping that there was no goo or glue.
- 2:25Speaker 2: And that was a dry situation.
- 2:27Speaker 1: I'm the Pepe Le Pew of the situation.
- 2:32Speaker 3: Oh, so anyway, Jerry, so Trey has got like over
- 2:35Speaker 3: a hundred thousand views on his puppy yoga video where
- 2:39Speaker 3: he toots on his puppy, Lily. And with that has
- 2:43Speaker 3: come a new level of attention from a number of
- 2:46Speaker 3: new suitors. Oh, because while Trey started 2026 single, I'm sorry,
- 2:54Speaker 3: While Trey started 2026 in a relationship, he is very
- 2:59Speaker 3: much single now. And if this keeps up, he may
- 3:04Speaker 3: be in a relationship before 2026 is over.
- 3:07Speaker 2: It just may not be with who you would expect.
- 3:11Speaker 1: You know, I.
- 3:15Speaker 1: I told this to a gay friend of mine one time.
- 3:17Speaker 1: He was drunk and he was like... He.
- 3:21Speaker 1: He said something to me. It was a compliment. And
- 3:24Speaker 1: I said, man, I wish that did it for me.
- 3:29Speaker 2: It would really, really make a lot of things a
- 3:31Speaker 2: lot less complicated. Yeah.
- 3:36Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. I've become very popular globally with the gay men.
- 3:41Speaker 1: So apparently I've got a lot of welcome messages and hellos.
- 3:48Speaker 2: Any any finger guns like, hey, hey, buddy.
- 3:53Speaker 1: Um, you know, I, I possibly in foreign language, but
- 3:56Speaker 1: nothing in English. Yeah.
- 3:59Speaker 2: So it got me thinking.
- 4:00Speaker 3: So Jerry, we were talking about that yesterday, Trey, getting
- 4:02Speaker 3: some surprise attention, uh, uh, from the, from the, from
- 4:05Speaker 3: the gay men who loved his video. Uh, but it
- 4:09Speaker 3: did get me thinking Trey. I mean, it's, it's been
- 4:11Speaker 3: a few months now.
- 4:12Speaker 1: I know.
- 4:13Speaker 3: I don't think necessarily your heart is healed. I don't
- 4:15Speaker 3: know if it is or not, you know, especially, you know,
- 4:18Speaker 3: in one of your best, most serious relationships that ended
- 4:22Speaker 3: this year. in a very unfortunate fashion. Have you thought
- 4:27Speaker 3: about any more about getting back out there?
- 4:30Speaker 2: Are you, are you thinking you're ready? You're not ready.
- 4:33Speaker 3: Did any of these DMS be from someone that you
- 4:35Speaker 3: might actually consider going out with?
- 4:39Speaker 2: Are you ready to date again? Yeah.
- 4:42Speaker 1: I mean, I, I've, I've got to, uh, sooner or later, um, uh,
- 4:47Speaker 1: you know, definitely gonna have some trust issues after, uh,
- 4:52Speaker 1: you know, again, seven months of a, of a just
- 4:55Speaker 1: absolutely wonderful relationship. No fights, never, not a one. And
- 4:58Speaker 1: then she just walked out the door and still never
- 5:02Speaker 1: said goodbye or this is why I'm leaving or anything else. Um, so,
- 5:08Speaker 1: but you know, yeah, I, I would love to, uh, not, uh,
- 5:11Speaker 1: die alone.
- 5:12Speaker 2: Sure. Sure.
- 5:14Speaker 3: You would like someone else to fart on besides your dog.
- 5:17Speaker 1: No, I, I don't want to fart on anyone.
- 5:20Speaker 2: Um, see ladies, he's a keeper. Uh, that's, he will not.
- 5:24Speaker 1: There are some things I, I know some couples and
- 5:28Speaker 1: maybe that's a sign of a healthy relationship. I don't know.
- 5:30Speaker 1: I do not ever want to fart on my woman,
- 5:32Speaker 1: nor do I want her to fart on me. And, uh, we'll,
- 5:35Speaker 1: there are some things I feel like should be kept, uh,
- 5:38Speaker 1: to yourself.
- 5:39Speaker 3: Amen.
- 5:40Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 5:40Speaker 2: Yeah. Look, I get it.
- 5:42Speaker 3: If, if, if that's how you, if that's your barometer
- 5:46Speaker 3: for a strong and healthy relationship, good on you, but
- 5:49Speaker 3: it ain't going to be in mine. Um, And Trey
- 5:52Speaker 3: and I are on the same page there. Jerry, where
- 5:54Speaker 3: do you fall on that? You're not as rigid on
- 6:00Speaker 3: that as Trey and I are?
- 6:02Speaker 2: No.
- 6:02Speaker 4: I mean, we've established a few rules, like the Dutch
- 6:06Speaker 4: oven is right out.
- 6:09Speaker 3: That's good, because one thing you've got to keep in
- 6:10Speaker 3: mind as a guy, you think it's really funny if
- 6:12Speaker 3: you do it, but what's not funny is when they
- 6:14Speaker 3: do it back.
- 6:16Speaker 2: Yes. And that's the day you learn. And you are
- 6:22Speaker 2: never the same.
- 6:25Speaker 3: So Dutch oven out, but what about the occasional... Do
- 6:30Speaker 3: you crop dust each other? I'm trying to figure out
- 6:32Speaker 3: where your boundaries are. You'll crop dust each other?
- 6:35Speaker 2: There's a lot of that. There's a lot of that?
- 6:42Speaker 2: You know, it's never... I'm intentionally going over there to
- 6:46Speaker 2: do that, but if it's going to happen, it happens.
- 6:53Speaker 3: So it's in sort of a pranking fashion, not a
- 6:57Speaker 3: hate fart fashion.
- 6:58Speaker 1: I feel like crowd dusting is intentional.
- 7:01Speaker 2: Oh, it is.
- 7:01Speaker 3: But I think that's what I'm trying to figure out.
- 7:03Speaker 3: Is it because it's more of like a prank or
- 7:05Speaker 3: is it because, no, I'm mad at you and this
- 7:07Speaker 3: is how I'm going to show it?
- 7:09Speaker 4: No, it's just because I'm walking over there by where
- 7:13Speaker 4: she may be and there's a fart coming and I'm
- 7:16Speaker 4: not going to hold it in.
- 7:17Speaker 2: It's just going to happen. You don't want to waste
- 7:20Speaker 2: the opportunity.
- 7:23Speaker 1: So it's just, she's just lucky, lucky timing.
- 7:27Speaker 2: Lucky, unlucky. It works both ways. It's, you know, fair.
- 7:32Speaker 3: Is, is that sort of the extent of it or
- 7:34Speaker 3: does this not without getting too deep into your bedroom activities? Does,
- 7:38Speaker 3: is there any crossover in there? Like where it ceases
- 7:41Speaker 3: to be playful and now it's actually romantic?
- 7:44Speaker 2: No. Okay, good. No, no.
- 7:46Speaker 3: Even if it is, thank you for saying no. Um,
- 7:52Speaker 3: So anyway, Trey, you're ready to get back out there. Obviously,
- 7:57Speaker 3: you've been around a while.
- 8:00Speaker 2: You've been through many experiences. You've been through a lot
- 8:02Speaker 2: of relationships.
- 8:03Speaker 3: It's not like you're just jumping into the first situation
- 8:07Speaker 3: or the first person that maybe takes any sort of
- 8:09Speaker 3: an interest. Because with age comes wisdom and not wanting
- 8:14Speaker 3: to waste a bunch of time doing stuff you don't
- 8:17Speaker 3: want to do.
- 8:20Speaker 2: I guess I was just.
- 8:21Speaker 1: just.
- 8:21Speaker 3: Generally and genuinely curious, if a situation presented itself, would
- 8:26Speaker 3: you explore it?
- 8:28Speaker 4: Yes.
- 8:29Speaker 1: If a situation presented itself, I would definitely explore it.
- 8:34Speaker 1: But I'm at a point where one of the things
- 8:44Speaker 1: that worked with Brandy was the fact that we had
- 8:47Speaker 1: similar interest, enjoyed enjoy the same things. And so I'm
- 8:54Speaker 1: not going to force a situation. I'm not definitely not
- 8:59Speaker 1: going to get into a situation just because I, I
- 9:04Speaker 1: just don't want to be alone. So there are criteria
- 9:09Speaker 1: that have to be met. You know, you have to
- 9:12Speaker 1: take care of yourself. You know, be my age or
- 9:22Speaker 1: probably I'd say somewhere within 15 years younger to my age.
- 9:26Speaker 3: Uh, what about, what about 15 years older? If, uh,
- 9:32Speaker 3: if you got you a good grand Cougar.
- 9:39Speaker 1: Yeah, no. Uh, you know, I mean, if she's a billionaire, sure.
- 9:45Speaker 3: This is, this is why we're doing this. I'm talking
- 9:47Speaker 3: through trying to find what it is you're looking for.
- 9:49Speaker 3: And we're being honest here. And I applaud you for
- 9:52Speaker 3: you being honest. I'm just glad to know if you
- 9:55Speaker 3: feel like you're there, good. I don't want you to
- 9:57Speaker 3: think I'm trying to surprise you here. don't have anyone
- 10:00Speaker 3: in mind or anything.
- 10:01Speaker 2: I was just genuinely curious.
- 10:04Speaker 1: I've thought about it. I'm sure at some point I
- 10:13Speaker 1: will really get back out there, which is going to
- 10:15Speaker 1: have to... The just absolute shitty thing about it is
- 10:19Speaker 1: To get back out there in this day and age
- 10:20Speaker 1: means you got to get on the dating apps. And
- 10:22Speaker 1: I just, I don't have it in me right now.
- 10:26Speaker 3: You know, you kind of did it before by it.
- 10:29Speaker 3: I mean, not doing the dating apps all that much.
- 10:31Speaker 3: You kind of, you did like that one dating event
- 10:33Speaker 3: thing that took you out of your comfort zone. If
- 10:37Speaker 3: you don't want to meet someone through a dating app,
- 10:39Speaker 3: then don't. If it's meant to be, then you'll meet
- 10:42Speaker 3: somebody in some other fashion.
- 10:45Speaker 2: No, I won't.
- 10:46Speaker 1: Because that would involve... You know, I mean, Brandy, she
- 10:49Speaker 1: messaged me first out of the blue.
- 10:52Speaker 3: Why do you think we're talking about this on the show?
- 10:55Speaker 3: The best dating app you've got is this show.
- 10:59Speaker 1: You know, maybe.
- 11:00Speaker 3: So if there's a 65-year-old billionaire woman who's real lonely,
- 11:03Speaker 3: I mean, Trey's your boy.
- 11:04Speaker 1: Yeah. Or if, you know, a 40-year-old that takes good
- 11:09Speaker 1: care of themselves.
- 11:11Speaker 2: And won't fart on him.
- 11:13Speaker 1: Yeah. And probably... He doesn't have really young kids.
- 11:18Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:19Speaker 2: Some kids are fine. He's cool with it. He's kind
- 11:22Speaker 2: of flexible.
- 11:23Speaker 1: Well, I just, I don't.
- 11:25Speaker 2: You're realistic.
- 11:27Speaker 1: Realistically, it's the, I mean, well-behaved kids, fine. That's just,
- 11:37Speaker 1: they have to be well-behaved.
- 11:38Speaker 2: I understand.
- 11:40Speaker 1: And let's be honest, parents, you know if your kids
- 11:41Speaker 1: are assholes or not.
- 11:44Speaker 2: And if you don't know?
- 11:46Speaker 1: They are.
- 11:46Speaker 3: They are. So let's say you meet someone and you're ready. Like,
- 11:55Speaker 3: you know, I want to ask this person out. I
- 11:57Speaker 3: want a first date. That'll really stand out. Would you
- 12:00Speaker 3: take her base jumping?
- 12:07Speaker 1: Let's see. I meet someone I like enough to actually
- 12:12Speaker 1: go out with. And am I going to, you know,
- 12:15Speaker 1: see if, One or both of us can die on
- 12:17Speaker 1: the first date? Probably not.
- 12:19Speaker 4: I know.
- 12:20Speaker 2: You know what? I'm a 52-year-old man.
- 12:21Speaker 3: I found someone that I thought was worth enough to
- 12:24Speaker 3: just ask out. I don't want to put her life
- 12:26Speaker 3: on the line on the first date, let alone yours.
- 12:30Speaker 3: I ask this just to make sure you don't have
- 12:33Speaker 3: any plans to go base jumping on a first date
- 12:36Speaker 3: with anybody.
- 12:38Speaker 1: I don't have any plans to go base jumping, period.
- 12:41Speaker 3: I don't know if they offer that off the top
- 12:44Speaker 3: of Reunion Tower.
- 12:46Speaker 1: I don't think so. On the list of things of,
- 12:51Speaker 1: I will call kind of daredevil things that one might try,
- 12:59Speaker 1: base jumping would be just at the bottom. I would
- 13:04Speaker 1: go skydiving far before I would go base jumping.
- 13:07Speaker 2: Really?
- 13:09Speaker 1: Yeah. For the simple reason that you have a lot
- 13:13Speaker 1: more time if the first chute malfunctions to get to
- 13:16Speaker 1: the second chute. If you're base jumping, you probably only
- 13:19Speaker 1: have one shot.
- 13:23Speaker 2: And just enough time to realize what's about to happen.
- 13:26Speaker 1: Uh-huh.
- 13:28Speaker 2: Jerry, you obviously feel differently.
- 13:34Speaker 3: Or do you see skydiving and base jumping as basically
- 13:37Speaker 3: the same thing?
- 13:40Speaker 2: I mean, pretty much the same thing. Yeah.
- 13:42Speaker 4: I mean, it's true. You have a much shorter trip.
- 13:46Speaker 4: You've got a lot less reaction time. You've got a
- 13:48Speaker 4: lot shorter time for your whole life to flash in
- 13:50Speaker 4: front of your eyes when you're base jumping.
- 13:55Speaker 1: Yeah. Base jumping. You're, you're generally at most a thousand
- 13:58Speaker 1: feet or skydiving. You've got 10,000. So like I said,
- 14:01Speaker 1: you've got, and I don't even know if base jumping,
- 14:04Speaker 1: if you even have a backup parachute.
- 14:06Speaker 3: I know in some base jumping, they just kind of
- 14:09Speaker 3: hold that. I've never been skydiving, so I don't know.
- 14:11Speaker 2: Yeah, they hold it.
- 14:12Speaker 3: They hold the first thing that comes out, and then
- 14:16Speaker 3: that pulls the main chute, right? Whereas in skydiving, it's
- 14:20Speaker 3: all in the pack, and you pull the cord, and
- 14:24Speaker 3: everything gets released. But yeah, in base jumping, you're holding
- 14:28Speaker 3: in your hand the first part of skydiving.
- 14:31Speaker 2: I'm just afraid, like, what if I have a hangnail
- 14:33Speaker 2: that day?
- 14:36Speaker 4: I just think about how much time you actually have
- 14:38Speaker 4: to think about your situation if it all goes to
- 14:40Speaker 4: hell while you're skydiving.
- 14:44Speaker 3: In my logical brain, this is how I can somewhat
- 14:48Speaker 3: justify I would rather skydive to my death than base
- 14:52Speaker 3: jump to my death. While it makes sense that with
- 14:54Speaker 3: the base jump to your death, like if everything goes wrong,
- 14:57Speaker 3: the base jump to your death makes sense in that
- 15:00Speaker 3: you won't have a whole lot of time to think
- 15:01Speaker 3: about all the bad things that are now going to
- 15:03Speaker 3: happen to you. It's probably going to be... pretty quick. But,
- 15:09Speaker 3: I believe that additional time falling while skydiving, after all
- 15:14Speaker 3: the bad things have happened, you can go through a
- 15:17Speaker 3: couple of stages before you go splat. So you'll have
- 15:20Speaker 3: initial fear, and then eventually you'll have a couple extra
- 15:23Speaker 3: seconds for acceptance, and then eventually you may just.
- 15:26Speaker 2: Be like, I'm just gonna go with it now.
- 15:28Speaker 1: Hey, you're flying.
- 15:31Speaker 2: That's right! You're falling with style.
- 15:34Speaker 1: And, one of the big differences between base jumping and
- 15:38Speaker 1: skydiving is in skydiving, you have, you will reach terminal velocity.
- 15:43Speaker 1: Base jumping, you probably don't have enough time. So you
- 15:47Speaker 1: might limp away from a base jump.
- 15:53Speaker 2: You're not going to want to.
- 15:55Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly. I mean, I, you, uh, or better yet,
- 16:00Speaker 1: you'll probably get, you might get wheeled away from a
- 16:02Speaker 1: base jump, but, uh, skydive chances are you're, you're, going
- 16:06Speaker 1: on to meet your maker.
- 16:08Speaker 2: It's pretty good odds.
- 16:10Speaker 3: The reason I ask you that, Trey, is whether or
- 16:12Speaker 3: not you would do base jumping on a first date
- 16:14Speaker 3: is because someone gave us a very stark reminder at
- 16:17Speaker 3: how dangerous base jumping can be. A base jumper fatally
- 16:23Speaker 3: plunged 700 feet after their wingsuit failure in Utah.
- 16:29Speaker 2: Wingsuits.
- 16:31Speaker 3: They weren't just doing the normal base jumping with the parachute.
- 16:34Speaker 3: They were doing the base jumping with with the squirrel
- 16:37Speaker 3: suit situation, a la the New Point break, a la
- 16:41Speaker 3: Mission Impossible type stuff. 27-year-old base jumper died on Sunday
- 16:47Speaker 3: after his wingsuit failed when he launched from a 700-foot
- 16:50Speaker 3: perch in Utah.
- 16:56Speaker 2: I don't even know if he was by himself.
- 16:57Speaker 3: Search and rescue crews were called to Lethams Hollow, an
- 17:00Speaker 3: area of canyon walls and cliffs not unlike the Grand Canyons. 9,
- 17:04Speaker 3: 10 a.m. on Sunday declared the man dead at the scene.
- 17:09Speaker 3: They said the man was experienced in this type of
- 17:11Speaker 3: activity and was part of a group of as many
- 17:13Speaker 3: as 10 people who appeared to be engaged in wingsuit-aided
- 17:18Speaker 3: base jumping. The area about 45 miles north of Ogden
- 17:22Speaker 3: is very popular with the base jumpers. Medical transport helicopters
- 17:26Speaker 3: sent to help with the initial search transported the man's body.
- 17:31Speaker 3: Before Sunday, 541 deaths around the world since 1981 have
- 17:37Speaker 3: been logged by the base fatality list.
- 17:41Speaker 2: That's definitely a list you don't want to be on,
- 17:45Speaker 2: but they have it.
- 17:48Speaker 1: That's actually less than 10 a year. I'm kind of surprised.
- 17:54Speaker 2: Same.
- 17:55Speaker 1: I guess that's more than 10 a year, but not
- 17:58Speaker 1: much more.
- 17:59Speaker 3: This year, 15 such deaths have been reported worldwide.
- 18:03Speaker 2: Globally.
- 18:04Speaker 3: In June, two base jumpers died in a separate accident
- 18:07Speaker 3: in Utah. One of them performed on stage with Madonna
- 18:10Speaker 3: at the 2012 Super Bowl. And then a photographer helped coin,
- 18:18Speaker 3: not helped Coinbase, but he helped Coinbase as a description
- 18:24Speaker 3: of the sport's adrenaline-inspiring launch points, buildings, antennas, spans, earth.
- 18:30Speaker 3: That's what base stands for in case you were curious.
- 18:32Speaker 3: This was back in 1978 when he videotaped early jumps
- 18:36Speaker 3: from Yosemite National Park's El Capitan rock formation.
- 18:42Speaker 1: There's part of me wish I had the balls to
- 18:44Speaker 1: do it and just didn't care.
- 18:45Speaker 3: But yeah.
- 18:47Speaker 4: See, when I was younger, I could do that stuff.
- 18:50Speaker 4: But you get to an age somewhere in your late
- 18:53Speaker 4: 30s where your brain says that your ass should never
- 18:59Speaker 4: be over your head at any point in time. And
- 19:01Speaker 4: there's just this shift. And I just, I can't, I
- 19:05Speaker 4: went bungee jumping when I was in my twenties. I
- 19:09Speaker 4: couldn't do it now.
- 19:10Speaker 2: Nightmare.
- 19:13Speaker 3: And part of the reason, and part of that is biological, right?
- 19:17Speaker 3: Like it's innate. Like it is very unnatural to jump
- 19:21Speaker 3: off of a cliff into the void.
- 19:23Speaker 2: Right.
- 19:26Speaker 3: And to be fair, it's, it is, it is not
- 19:30Speaker 3: an illogical fear.
- 19:32Speaker 2: Because earlier this year, a.
- 19:35Speaker 3: Young lady went bungee jumping and the bungee crew forgot
- 19:42Speaker 3: to tie the bungee to her feet. So they just
- 19:46Speaker 3: threw her from a bridge and she died.
- 19:48Speaker 1: That was in Brazil.
- 19:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:51Speaker 2: Wow. You had one job. Really? And there's three of them.
- 19:55Speaker 3: Yeah. You've got two guys that are lifting this girl.
- 19:58Speaker 3: And then a third guy, they're all supposed to check
- 20:01Speaker 3: all the safety stuff. And then they just like, she's
- 20:04Speaker 3: kind of like, kind of like she's crowd surfing on
- 20:06Speaker 3: her like stomach.
- 20:07Speaker 2: So she's face down. And then they just.
- 20:09Speaker 3: Do the one, two, three, and then they throw her
- 20:11Speaker 3: off the bridge. And that's when the third guy looks
- 20:14Speaker 3: and sees there's no tail following her.
- 20:18Speaker 1: Oh, no.
- 20:20Speaker 2: And they just threw her. There she goes.
- 20:24Speaker 3: And that poor thing was expecting the rope to hit
- 20:26Speaker 3: at any time. You talk about having zero time to
- 20:29Speaker 3: react because she's expecting that thing to snap. It's supposed
- 20:32Speaker 3: to get you close to the ground. So by the
- 20:34Speaker 3: time she realized it wasn't going to happen, she was
- 20:36Speaker 3: probably already gone.
- 20:37Speaker 1: No. If you remember the story, she was alive when
- 20:41Speaker 1: the paramedics first got there, and she died later on.
- 20:44Speaker 1: So she lived through it. That's, again, why I will
- 20:48Speaker 1: take skydiving over base jumping bungee cord.
- 20:52Speaker 3: That's right, because you will hit that terminal velocity, and
- 20:54Speaker 3: there will be.
- 20:55Speaker 2: No when you hit. Terrifying.
- 21:00Speaker 3: One of the most horrific stories I've ever heard. And
- 21:04Speaker 3: also solidifying why I will never, ever, never, ever, ever, never.
- 21:11Speaker 2: Bungee jump. I was smart enough to have an air
- 21:15Speaker 2: pad under me. You mean to land on or to
- 21:20Speaker 2: shit on? Well, yes.
- 21:25Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 21:25Speaker 2: To land on one of the big inflatable stunt pads. Yeah.
- 21:28Speaker 2: It's from a crane or an arch or something. Got it.
- 21:31Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 21:32Speaker 3: I know for me, I would probably have to be
- 21:34Speaker 3: wearing it. If I was to ever actually willingly do it,
- 21:36Speaker 3: I will wear a diaper. And it's not going to
- 21:39Speaker 3: be just in case. It's going to be guaranteed.
- 21:45Speaker 4: There does come a moment when your brain starts searching
- 21:49Speaker 4: for that feeling of the bungee getting taut.
- 21:55Speaker 1: It's not depends, it's for sure.
- 21:57Speaker 2: It's for sure.
- 22:03Speaker 3: Let's get Daniel Cook from Cook DFW Roofing and Restoration
- 22:06Speaker 3: into the treehouse. 833-COOK-DFW is the phone number to get
- 22:11Speaker 3: your free roof inspection and property review scheduled. The website, cookdfw.com.
- 22:17Speaker 3: I'm going to say some scary words, Daniel.
- 22:21Speaker 2: Super El Nino.
- 22:26Speaker 3: And the effect that is going to have on weather,
- 22:30Speaker 3: especially in the North Texas area.
- 22:34Speaker 2: You know, you're right.
- 22:35Speaker 5: We just are officially in going into.
- 22:38Speaker 2: The Super El Nino.
- 22:40Speaker 5: The reason why is because it's warmer than a regular
- 22:42Speaker 5: El Nino. And it does prelude that we will have
- 22:46Speaker 5: a wetter, higher rain percentage than a normal year.
- 22:52Speaker 1: Or shall we say on El Nino?
- 22:54Speaker 5: Um, so there are some differences, speculations, nothing is set
- 22:58Speaker 5: in stone. This is not a guarantee that we're going
- 23:01Speaker 5: to have a deluge of water for the next year.
- 23:03Speaker 5: I mean, that's just not what it means. Scientific data says, Hey,
- 23:08Speaker 5: we might have a wetter than normal.
- 23:09Speaker 1: We could have more storms. It could be just a
- 23:12Speaker 1: lot of rain.
- 23:13Speaker 5: We all need to go out and build arcs. I
- 23:15Speaker 5: don't know, but I mean, be prepared. The moral of
- 23:19Speaker 5: the story is every day you live in North Texas,
- 23:21Speaker 5: especially in North Texas, be prepared. Know how your home
- 23:24Speaker 5: is sitting. Know how your roof looks. Know how your
- 23:27Speaker 5: windows are working. Know if your doors have holes. I mean,
- 23:31Speaker 5: just know your home.
- 23:32Speaker 1: Know your home.
- 23:32Speaker 5: Call us out.
- 23:33Speaker 2: We want to educate you.
- 23:35Speaker 5: We will come around, walk you around, show you things
- 23:37Speaker 5: that you should know, and then we can help you
- 23:38Speaker 5: with getting them taken care of.
- 23:41Speaker 2: And no pressure, all education.
- 23:43Speaker 3: And Daniel and his fine team at Cook DFW will
- 23:45Speaker 3: take care of you, the homeowner, with very, very gentle hands.
- 23:49Speaker 2: I know because I've been 833-COOK-DFW. That sound bad? Sounded bad.
- 23:53Speaker 3: 833-COOK-DFW. Get that scheduled today. The website, cookdfw.com.
- 24:04Speaker 2: I'm going to be laughing about it's not depends. It's
- 24:08Speaker 2: for sure. It's for sure. For at least a week.
- 24:11Speaker 2: Thank you, Trey. Thank you very much. I also want
- 24:16Speaker 2: to come out with a new episode. competitor for depends.
- 24:24Speaker 3: Those would sell out absolutely oh it's not depends it's
- 24:28Speaker 3: for sure boom in stores now.
- 24:32Speaker 2: Just imagine the commercial.
- 24:37Speaker 3: Oh you know what's gonna happen you might as well
- 24:42Speaker 3: go with the with the the adult diaper company that
- 24:45Speaker 3: knew it was gonna happen not a well maybe All right,
- 24:48Speaker 3: back inside the treehouse now. I'm Dan, that's Trey, along
- 24:51Speaker 3: with Jerry. Today is Thursday. I can't believe I'm going
- 24:55Speaker 3: to say this. October 1st, 2026.
- 25:02Speaker 2: Let's celebrate.
- 25:06Speaker 3: In addition to celebrity birthdays today, for me, and I
- 25:10Speaker 3: think for most people, Thursday, October 1st, is the official
- 25:14Speaker 3: first day of spooky season. Some people start sooner than others,
- 25:20Speaker 3: but for me, like spooky season, official start is October 1st.
- 25:27Speaker 3: Get all 31 days of spooky season before you roll
- 25:30Speaker 3: into pre-Christmas. We're going to start. So October 1st actually
- 25:38Speaker 3: has a lot of really good birthdays. See if we
- 25:40Speaker 3: can get through most of these. Social media and gymnastics
- 25:44Speaker 3: star Livvy Dunn is 24 today. She's a now former
- 25:50Speaker 3: LSU gymnast who became one of college sports' biggest social
- 25:53Speaker 3: media personalities. She has taken that and spun that into
- 25:57Speaker 3: a couple of endorsement deals and a role on the
- 26:00Speaker 3: new rebooted Baywatch series.
- 26:03Speaker 2: I don't know when that's supposed to.
- 26:05Speaker 3: Air or on what platform or if it's just going
- 26:07Speaker 3: to be on the Baywatch channel on Roku.
- 26:09Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 26:11Speaker 3: But Libby Dunn is part of that new cast, and
- 26:13Speaker 3: she's part of what's kind of like this new Hollywood
- 26:15Speaker 3: trend of if you have a new show, it helps
- 26:17Speaker 3: to have an influencer somewhere in there to get more
- 26:20Speaker 3: eyeballs at the beginning.
- 26:26Speaker 1: I think we can all agree Baywatch was just a
- 26:28Speaker 1: bad show, but it was a novelty at the time
- 26:32Speaker 1: because scantily clad women, that was an anomaly. I think
- 26:39Speaker 1: in today's society, there's nothing remotely... I mean, especially younger,
- 26:48Speaker 1: the Gen Z, they've seen it all. There's nothing about
- 26:51Speaker 1: scantily clad women that are going to draw them to
- 26:54Speaker 1: a TV show.
- 26:55Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, you can see that on TikTok, on
- 26:57Speaker 3: social media, whenever you want, Snapchat, whatever. If you want
- 27:01Speaker 3: to see scantily clad, it's right there.
- 27:05Speaker 2: In the palm of your hand.
- 27:07Speaker 3: Part of the reason why Baywatch was so huge back
- 27:09Speaker 3: in the day is because you didn't have that many
- 27:12Speaker 3: moving picture options anymore. especially available to people that were
- 27:17Speaker 3: under 18, 17.
- 27:21Speaker 1: Playboy. I mean, that was.
- 27:23Speaker 3: And technically, if you were under a certain age, you
- 27:27Speaker 3: weren't supposed to have that, but it helped if you
- 27:28Speaker 3: were like me and your dad had that.
- 27:31Speaker 2: So you're right, Trey.
- 27:34Speaker 3: That was an era in which we didn't have the
- 27:36Speaker 3: internet to pull up whatever we wanted on a computer
- 27:39Speaker 3: or a phone to see exactly what's happening on television.
- 27:42Speaker 3: Back then, television was kind of what we had. So
- 27:44Speaker 3: that's part of the reason Baywatch was so huge. So
- 27:50Speaker 3: I am curious to see if the new.
- 27:52Speaker 2: Baywatch is any good.
- 27:54Speaker 3: Look, it's probably not because it's not like they had
- 27:57Speaker 3: a whole lot to go from in the first place.
- 27:59Speaker 3: But it is going to be interesting to see if
- 28:02Speaker 3: they can actually make it successful, as you said, Trey,
- 28:04Speaker 3: when there's already plenty of what it's going to show
- 28:08Speaker 3: online whenever you want it.
- 28:09Speaker 1: I mean, if Dwayne Johnson couldn't make the movie... reboot
- 28:15Speaker 1: uh success what makes them think they're gonna have any
- 28:22Speaker 1: i don't know i feel like they're just desperate for stuff.
- 28:24Speaker 2: They have the reality show to pull stories from now.
- 28:29Speaker 3: There's a baywatch reality show uh.
- 28:32Speaker 2: It's uh it's basically beach cops.
- 28:39Speaker 3: Are you talking like an actual reality show or is
- 28:41Speaker 3: this like a an extension of the new baywatch show.
- 28:44Speaker 2: No, no, it's an actual reality TV show. It's called
- 28:47Speaker 2: Beach Cops? Well, that's what it is.
- 28:50Speaker 4: I don't remember the title right off the top of
- 28:52Speaker 4: my head, but it's basically, it's the police and the,
- 28:59Speaker 4: you know, the Baywatch working together to, yeah.
- 29:03Speaker 2: Okay, interesting.
- 29:05Speaker 3: So in no way related to the actual fiction TV show,
- 29:08Speaker 3: just an act, just a regular reality show.
- 29:11Speaker 2: Right. Okay. So anyway, Livvy Dunn. She is 24 today.
- 29:17Speaker 2: Happy birthday to her. MCU star Brie Larson is 37.
- 29:20Speaker 3: I know she's talented and she's got a pretty voice.
- 29:26Speaker 3: She's a good singer, but I've yet to see a movie.
- 29:29Speaker 2: We talked about this not that long ago.
- 29:32Speaker 3: I don't think she's a very good actress. She's stiff
- 29:37Speaker 3: i know jerry i'm sorry.
- 29:39Speaker 4: No that's that's what she does when you need that
- 29:41Speaker 4: kind of persona that's who you hire that's what she does.
- 29:45Speaker 2: A piece of wood i.
- 29:47Speaker 3: Mean she really she really like really like um going
- 29:52Speaker 3: back and re-watching now for the third time the entire
- 29:55Speaker 3: mcu The second time I was like, she seems kind
- 29:58Speaker 3: of stiff this third time going through watching Brie Larson.
- 30:01Speaker 3: It's like, she is really, really rigid. Um, maybe she's
- 30:05Speaker 3: been better and other stuff and I just haven't seen it.
- 30:07Speaker 3: I hope that's the case, but Brie Larson 37 today, uh,
- 30:12Speaker 3: other birthdays, Robbie Ray is 35. He's a, uh, 2021
- 30:17Speaker 3: American league Cy Young winner.
- 30:20Speaker 2: That's baseball, Jerry. Um, Scrolling down.
- 30:26Speaker 3: Zach Galifianakis is 57 today.
- 30:30Speaker 4: Nice.
- 30:31Speaker 2: Mr. Between Two Ferns.
- 30:34Speaker 3: Which, I swear, I mean, that show now seems ancient
- 30:37Speaker 3: by today's standards. Between Two Ferns is one of the
- 30:40Speaker 3: greatest shows ever. And it also has some of the
- 30:43Speaker 3: greatest outtakes ever. Because you get serious, serious Hollywood A-list
- 30:49Speaker 3: star power sitting across from Zach Galifianakis basically just roasting
- 30:54Speaker 3: the ever-loving out of them it's some of the most
- 30:58Speaker 3: hysterical stuff I've seen and it's so funny that even
- 31:01Speaker 3: it cracks him up at times when he's trying to
- 31:02Speaker 3: ask the questions and there's a really good one in
- 31:05Speaker 3: there where I think he's roasting Brie Larson and says
- 31:08Speaker 3: something like.
- 31:09Speaker 2: What's it like being a horrible actress.
- 31:15Speaker 3: Oh that makes me want to go back and re-watch
- 31:17Speaker 3: some of those shows he's got a new show about
- 31:18Speaker 3: gardening on Netflix right now by the way if you
- 31:21Speaker 3: haven't seen it it's wonderful Zach Galifianakis is one of
- 31:25Speaker 3: those people I would watch do just about anything. Mark McGuire,
- 31:32Speaker 3: one of the biggest disappointments in sports, to me, 63.
- 31:39Speaker 1: Why?
- 31:43Speaker 2: Because, look, I know he was on the juice. I
- 31:45Speaker 2: think we all knew he was on the juice in Oakland.
- 31:47Speaker 3: He went from a tall, gangly first baseman to almost
- 31:51Speaker 3: a bodybuilder next to Jose Canseco. But it really, really
- 31:55Speaker 3: stung me when he went to St. Louis, did the
- 31:57Speaker 3: whole home run thing with Sammy Davis.
- 31:59Speaker 2: Oh, Sammy Davis. Wrong black man. With Sammy Sosa.
- 32:07Speaker 3: Although it would have been really entertaining if it was
- 32:10Speaker 3: Mark McGuire versus Sammy Davis Jr.
- 32:13Speaker 1: Man.
- 32:15Speaker 2: I would love to see Sammy Davis Jr. in a
- 32:17Speaker 2: home run derby with Mark McGuire.
- 32:18Speaker 1: That'd be great.
- 32:20Speaker 2: Anyway, I just hated that whole.
- 32:25Speaker 3: What now feels so disingenuous with the Maris family, him
- 32:28Speaker 3: breaking the record and everything.
- 32:29Speaker 2: And then coming out that, that he was, he, he
- 32:34Speaker 2: was juicing and it just, it just, just, it made
- 32:36Speaker 2: it so awful. Yeah.
- 32:40Speaker 3: Just, just that whole situation just really left a horrible,
- 32:43Speaker 3: horrible taste in my mouth, even though I wasn't surprised.
- 32:47Speaker 1: Well, and looking back, half the league was juicing. Right.
- 32:54Speaker 2: To some extent.
- 32:54Speaker 1: Yes.
- 32:55Speaker 2: That doesn't make it okay. They all knew it was wrong.
- 32:58Speaker 2: You know how I knew it was wrong? Because they
- 32:59Speaker 2: all did it in quiet.
- 33:01Speaker 3: It's not like you went in the clubhouse and they're
- 33:03Speaker 3: all just sticking it in each other's butts.
- 33:04Speaker 2: Needles.
- 33:05Speaker 1: No, they went out of their way. I mean, Balco
- 33:08Speaker 1: was just the epitome of it, of trying, you know,
- 33:13Speaker 1: coming up with new and creative ways to skirt drug tests.
- 33:16Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 33:20Speaker 3: Randy Quaid is 76. He has not aged well.
- 33:27Speaker 2: He is one of those guys where I really, really....
- 33:33Speaker 3: It's helpful that he hasn't done anything great in recent
- 33:36Speaker 3: years because it makes it easier to separate the man
- 33:40Speaker 3: from the art because I love him in Independence Day.
- 33:45Speaker 3: And I absolutely love Cousin Eddie in the National Lampoon's
- 33:48Speaker 3: vacation movies.
- 33:50Speaker 2: I can still.
- 33:50Speaker 3: Watch those movies and not be affected by how crazy
- 33:53Speaker 3: real-life Randy Quaid is.
- 33:55Speaker 1: And, I mean, you can go back to... the whole
- 33:57Speaker 1: reason why he's been in the news recently, he was
- 34:00Speaker 1: good in Days of Thunder. For that role, he was great.
- 34:04Speaker 2: But.
- 34:04Speaker 1: I don't know if he... I went back and read that,
- 34:10Speaker 1: because we talked about that, I don't know, was it two,
- 34:12Speaker 1: three weeks ago, where they're going to... They announced Days
- 34:14Speaker 1: of Thunder 2 with Anne Hathaway, and he came out
- 34:16Speaker 1: and said Anne Hathaway isn't sexy and too woke and
- 34:19Speaker 1: this and that. Were you trying to get your role back? Yeah.
- 34:26Speaker 1: And you thought you were just going to piss up
- 34:28Speaker 1: Tom Cruise's legs and see if that worked out?
- 34:31Speaker 2: Yeah. Bad news, Randy.
- 34:35Speaker 3: I'm guessing that he already knew that he wasn't going
- 34:38Speaker 3: to have a role in that movie. Otherwise, even crazy
- 34:40Speaker 3: Randy Quaid would have known to have kept his mouth shut.
- 34:43Speaker 3: But for as crazy as Tom Cruise may be to
- 34:47Speaker 3: us in certain lights, he is not a stupid man.
- 34:51Speaker 3: And he pays attention enough to realize... There is no
- 34:55Speaker 3: way crazy-ass Randy Quaid was going to get a role
- 34:59Speaker 3: in Days of Thunder 2, not based on his shenanigans.
- 35:03Speaker 2: Not a chance in hell.
- 35:05Speaker 1: No, especially not because, and Tom Cruise knows this from
- 35:11Speaker 1: his own problems, like even though it was COVID, filming
- 35:16Speaker 1: Mission Impossible, one outburst, one anything on set can totally
- 35:20Speaker 1: derail a movie.
- 35:22Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
- 35:23Speaker 1: I do want to see Tom Cruise's new movie, The Digger.
- 35:26Speaker 3: Yeah. I cannot wait to see that movie. It looks
- 35:32Speaker 3: so good. Not just because Tom Cruise... When you think
- 35:36Speaker 3: about it, I'm having two thoughts at the same time.
- 35:40Speaker 2: Let me get the first one out.
- 35:41Speaker 3: Digger looks really, really good, not just because it's Tom
- 35:44Speaker 3: Cruise dressed up as someone that doesn't look anything like him.
- 35:47Speaker 3: But the rest of the cast also looks amazing. I
- 35:50Speaker 3: can't wait to see John Goodman as a near-death president
- 35:53Speaker 3: of the United States. Because in the trailers, it looks hysterical.
- 35:59Speaker 3: So the cast of that movie already looks really, really good. Now,
- 36:03Speaker 3: back to Tom Cruise. Some of the best roles in
- 36:07Speaker 3: Tom Cruise's career have been the roles where he looks
- 36:09Speaker 3: nothing like himself.
- 36:11Speaker 2: Mm-hmm. In Tropic Thunder. Yeah. S. Les Grossman.
- 36:16Speaker 3: And in Vanilla Sky, where his face is disfigured and stuff.
- 36:22Speaker 1: I never saw Vanilla Sky.
- 36:24Speaker 3: Full disclosure, neither have I. But I have heard that
- 36:28Speaker 3: it's one of his best roles.
- 36:29Speaker 2: And it's amazing.
- 36:30Speaker 3: It's like, and now we're going to get another one
- 36:32Speaker 3: in Digger where he looks basically nothing like himself. He's
- 36:34Speaker 3: not pretty boy, you know, Tom Cruise kind of a thing.
- 36:37Speaker 3: He's playing an outright character. And he looks amazing in it.
- 36:41Speaker 2: I love how.
- 36:44Speaker 3: He's not just a one trick pony mission, impossible running, jumping,
- 36:47Speaker 3: and more running kind of a thing. He's a crazy ass,
- 36:51Speaker 3: good actor. And I'm, I'm excited to see him when
- 36:53Speaker 3: he looks really, really different. I guess is the only
- 36:58Speaker 3: way to put it.
- 37:00Speaker 1: Yeah. I, my, he was so good as less Grossman that,
- 37:04Speaker 1: and maybe that, that kind of freed him from being
- 37:09Speaker 1: Tom Cruise.
- 37:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 37:11Speaker 1: You hope kind of the same thing. from this one,
- 37:14Speaker 1: because I, we talked about this before. I feel like
- 37:17Speaker 1: they missed a huge opportunity. They could have made a
- 37:19Speaker 1: Les Grossman movie and we would have all watched it.
- 37:24Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 37:26Speaker 3: And maybe even in today's environment, maybe even a short
- 37:30Speaker 3: series type of a thing.
- 37:32Speaker 2: Yeah. It's amazing. I would watch that. It's amazing what
- 37:36Speaker 2: a prosthetic will do for an actor.
- 37:40Speaker 4: As soon as you put something on their face, man, bam.
- 37:42Speaker 2: Yep. All right, other birthdays today. Julie Andrews.
- 37:46Speaker 3: I can't, is she still alive? According to my printer,
- 37:48Speaker 3: it says she's still alive. Julie Andrews is 91. Mary Poppins,
- 37:52Speaker 3: The Sound of Music, The Princess Diaries, tons of stuff
- 37:54Speaker 3: that's too long to even name, but Julie Andrews, 91 today.
- 37:56Speaker 1: Yeah, in fact, I think it was a big deal
- 37:59Speaker 1: that I've never seen any of them, but they're making
- 38:03Speaker 1: another Princess Diaries, but she's not going to be in
- 38:06Speaker 1: the next one.
- 38:07Speaker 2: So I guess things aren't looking too good.
- 38:11Speaker 1: Or even she knows that that franchise is dead.
- 38:16Speaker 3: The Princess Diaries are deader than she is. And then
- 38:21Speaker 3: a few deceased birthdays. There's so many that they're worth mentioning.
- 38:24Speaker 3: Richard Harris would have been 96 today.
- 38:26Speaker 2: Phenomenal actor.
- 38:27Speaker 3: Camelot, Unforgiven, the original Professor Dumbledore in the first two
- 38:31Speaker 3: Harry Potter movies. Also, one hell of a Marcus Aurelius
- 38:35Speaker 3: in Gladiator. Tom Bosley from The Happy Days would have
- 38:41Speaker 3: been 99 today. Jimmy Carter passed away in 2024, 39th U.S.
- 38:46Speaker 2: President.
- 38:48Speaker 3: William Rehnquist, former Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court, 102.
- 38:55Speaker 2: That's how old he would have been today if he
- 38:56Speaker 2: was still kicking.
- 38:57Speaker 3: Walter Matthau would have been 106 today, passed.
- 39:01Speaker 2: Away in 2000. One of the greatest movies of all time,
- 39:04Speaker 2: Grumpy Old Men. And Bad News Bears.
- 39:08Speaker 1: And Grumpier Old Men. That solid sequel... Because those are
- 39:15Speaker 1: on TV fairly often. And Jack Lemmon, and it's funny,
- 39:22Speaker 1: the fact that Burgess Meredith is the old dad.
- 39:28Speaker 2: He stole that movie.
- 39:30Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 39:31Speaker 2: Stole that movie. And he's got really good lines.
- 39:36Speaker 3: Like, if Gen X wants to do a throwback thing,
- 39:38Speaker 3: like they love 80s and 90s stuff, if you want
- 39:40Speaker 3: to go back, go back to Grumpy Old Men and
- 39:43Speaker 3: steal some of Burgess Meredith's pickup lines and try them out.
- 39:46Speaker 2: See what happens.
- 39:51Speaker 3: That's the exact reaction I was hoping for Jerry thank you.
- 39:57Speaker 1: And the sad thing and the sad thing grumpy old
- 40:01Speaker 1: men and Margaret is our age in that movie.
- 40:07Speaker 3: Shut the fuck no no she's not how old was
- 40:11Speaker 3: Ann Margaret in grumpy old men early 50s fudge.
- 40:22Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 40:23Speaker 2: Why do they hurt us?
- 40:27Speaker 3: Like it was bad enough learning that in the golden girls,
- 40:30Speaker 3: the characters of everyone on the show are in their
- 40:33Speaker 3: like early fifties, the golden girls.
- 40:36Speaker 1: Hmm. Again, cocoon is the ultimate.
- 40:39Speaker 4: Yes.
- 40:40Speaker 1: Because, because, uh, Oh God, I just drew, uh, Oh, Brimley.
- 40:46Speaker 1: Wilford Brimley was 49, I think, when they filmed Cocoon.
- 40:56Speaker 2: Hollywood, why do you hurt us?
- 41:04Speaker 1: Do you feel restless and anxious? Feel like something's missing

- 42:07Speaker 3: This is, I don't have my sound effects machine, but
- 42:09Speaker 3: this would be a good time to pull out the
- 42:10Speaker 3: old Who's the big dumbass jingle?
- 42:14Speaker 2: I don't think you have that one ready to go, Trey.
- 42:16Speaker 1: I do not.
- 42:18Speaker 2: Do we all remember how it goes?
- 42:19Speaker 3: Or is it not very PC to sing it how
- 42:23Speaker 3: it was originally sung back in the early 2000s days?
- 42:29Speaker 2: You're looking it up.
- 42:32Speaker 1: It's probably something we could get away with. Yeah.
- 42:37Speaker 2: Who the big dumbass?
- 42:42Speaker 1: If you really want it.
- 42:46Speaker 2: It's not that big of a deal.
- 42:48Speaker 3: It's more of the question being asked and using it
- 42:51Speaker 3: as a segue into this story. If you're going to
- 42:55Speaker 3: do questionable things on a work trip, it might be
- 42:58Speaker 3: a good idea to turn off your phone sharing location.
- 43:04Speaker 3: just putting that out there in case you're planning on
- 43:07Speaker 3: doing some nefarious things on a work trip in Vegas.
- 43:12Speaker 3: Lady says, uh, her husband was on a work trip
- 43:15Speaker 3: in Vegas and was pinging at a different hotel than
- 43:18Speaker 3: the one he was staying at. At a time in which,
- 43:23Speaker 3: at a time in which he should have been in bed.
- 43:27Speaker 1: Okay. And that, that ruins that defense. Cause I was like,
- 43:29Speaker 1: you know, they get the conventions. There's, Maybe staying in
- 43:33Speaker 1: one hotel, but the actual convention's at another one.
- 43:36Speaker 2: Could be.
- 43:37Speaker 1: It's Vegas. After the conventions, there's always dinners and everything else.
- 43:44Speaker 2: The strip's right there. You go to different spots. Yeah,
- 43:47Speaker 2: makes sense.
- 43:48Speaker 3: Well, he's in Vegas for a conference, his first work
- 43:51Speaker 3: trip post-baby. So mom is at home with the baby.
- 43:57Speaker 3: Daddy's gone out of town to Vegas for a work trip.
- 44:00Speaker 3: She said the past night he was out drinking with
- 44:02Speaker 3: his coworkers and went to one of the evening events
- 44:05Speaker 3: at the conference. His location showed he was clearly moving
- 44:08Speaker 3: around the casino, and he even sent a pic with
- 44:10Speaker 3: his male friend around 12 a.m. He was clearly inebriated.
- 44:15Speaker 3: That was the last communication he sent. She says, I
- 44:18Speaker 3: woke up 5.30 in the morning for a feeding, and
- 44:21Speaker 3: he never sent a made-it-back text or anything. So I
- 44:25Speaker 3: checked his location. It was at a different hotel. next
- 44:29Speaker 3: to the one he was supposed to be staying at.
- 44:33Speaker 3: She said she called a bunch of times, texted as well,
- 44:35Speaker 3: no answer. She says it's been over two hours and
- 44:38Speaker 3: he's still pinging at this other hotel. So clearly he
- 44:42Speaker 3: has spent the night there. I don't know what I'm
- 44:44Speaker 3: looking for. The writing seems pretty much on the wall,
- 44:46Speaker 3: doesn't it?
- 44:47Speaker 2: There's an update, more info.
- 44:49Speaker 3: To address people about trust issues, he did tell a
- 44:52Speaker 3: lot of half-truths early on, kind of left things out,
- 44:55Speaker 3: which always left me uncomfortable.
- 44:56Speaker 2: We got through that, though, and communicated better.
- 44:58Speaker 3: Three years ago, he did end up blackout drunk at
- 45:00Speaker 3: a strip club miles away from his hotel at a
- 45:02Speaker 3: different work conference on a random Wednesday night. Again, work
- 45:05Speaker 3: through all that scenario and whatnot. So there are reasons why.
- 45:07Speaker 2: I do feel uneasy, especially with postpartum anxiety.
- 45:11Speaker 3: Still haven't heard anything. So at this point, I don't
- 45:14Speaker 3: think he's gambling. Could be wrong, but knowing him, I
- 45:18Speaker 3: don't think he'd last this many hours straight at the table.
- 45:21Speaker 2: Oh, he's gambling. All right. Yes, he is, Jerry.
- 45:29Speaker 1: He could have been out partying with his buddies. His
- 45:32Speaker 1: buddies are staying at a different hotel. He passed out
- 45:34Speaker 1: in their room.
- 45:37Speaker 2: That's the story he should tell.
- 45:39Speaker 1: If he's smart.
- 45:39Speaker 2: Which he may not be.
- 45:43Speaker 1: Or, you know, that he was on a run and
- 45:46Speaker 1: they were still gambling and he just wasn't checking his phone.
- 45:50Speaker 3: Cause you can't in a casino. Like you can't just
- 45:52Speaker 3: like in, in real Vegas casino. I've never been to Vegas,
- 45:55Speaker 3: but in real casinos, they don't let you just pull
- 45:56Speaker 3: your phone out and lay it out there and do
- 45:58Speaker 3: stuff on it. Yeah.
- 46:01Speaker 2: Kind of, you kind of can nowadays.
- 46:03Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 46:04Speaker 3: I haven't been to any traditional casinos in a long time.
- 46:06Speaker 3: Like the last casino I went to, I think was
- 46:08Speaker 3: in Puerto Rico.
- 46:09Speaker 2: That's us territory.
- 46:10Speaker 3: I mean, it's practically international waters. So I think they're
- 46:14Speaker 3: a little, little more lenient. And then like the, the
- 46:17Speaker 3: casino I go to on St.
- 46:18Speaker 2: John, it's all like, computer operated so they really don't care.
- 46:22Speaker 1: They're a lot more lax uh the only thing they
- 46:25Speaker 1: really you have to clear ahead of time is if
- 46:28Speaker 1: you're going to try video take a picture of video
- 46:30Speaker 1: anything all right but i mean in this day and
- 46:32Speaker 1: age it's pretty hard to you you can't tell people
- 46:36Speaker 1: to stay off their phones.
- 46:37Speaker 2: Anywhere can you can you pull up your card counting.
- 46:41Speaker 1: App that's where pictures and videos Now, if you were
- 46:47Speaker 1: sitting there on your phone every hand and typing something in, yes,
- 46:50Speaker 1: they would come by and go, excuse me, sir. But
- 46:54Speaker 1: if you're just sending messages or this or that, it's
- 46:56Speaker 1: pretty much impossible.
- 46:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 47:00Speaker 3: She does include an update here on Dumbass the Husband.
- 47:02Speaker 3: She said, heard back at 8 a.m. He had gone
- 47:05Speaker 3: back to his room and fell asleep and said that
- 47:07Speaker 3: this hotel location is correct.
- 47:08Speaker 2: He was staying at this one the whole time.
- 47:11Speaker 3: No real explanation provided for this being the first time
- 47:14Speaker 3: it showed up there.
- 47:15Speaker 2: And why it said the other one the day before.
- 47:20Speaker 3: So he didn't go with your very solid advice, Jerry,
- 47:22Speaker 3: to say, like, I just passed out in what's-his-name's room.
- 47:26Speaker 2: Instead, he was like, I've been here the whole time, baby.
- 47:34Speaker 2: You're right, Jerry. The man is gambling. Yeah.
- 47:38Speaker 4: He put everything on the double zero. Never put it
- 47:40Speaker 4: on the green. You got to play those corners.
- 47:45Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 47:48Speaker 3: Otherwise you're just playing craps or methods is what you're
- 47:53Speaker 3: going to be doing in a box outside. Cause you're
- 47:57Speaker 3: no longer allowed inside your own house. Um, one, one
- 48:02Speaker 3: last story.
- 48:03Speaker 2: You ready? I think we have found a way to
- 48:06Speaker 2: feel sorry for Florida, man.
- 48:11Speaker 1: Okay.
- 48:12Speaker 2: Possibly the impossible.
- 48:15Speaker 3: A Florida man who's now 86 says his viral 110
- 48:19Speaker 3: mile per hour arrest devastated his retirement.
- 48:27Speaker 2: I know I shouldn't laugh at that, but come on.
- 48:30Speaker 3: This does tell me that if you're ever considered a
- 48:32Speaker 3: Florida man in the news, they should give you some
- 48:35Speaker 3: type of opinion. 85-year-old Florida driver became an internet sensation
- 48:40Speaker 3: in June after body camera video showed deputies arresting him
- 48:42Speaker 3: following a 110 mile per hour traffic stop. Three months later,
- 48:46Speaker 3: William Bosworth, 86 years old, his Nissan 350Z sitting in
- 48:53Speaker 3: his garage, and he says the consequences of that night
- 48:56Speaker 3: reshaped his retirement, saying it devastated me.
- 48:58Speaker 2: It's funny, but it's not funny. I know it's serious.
- 49:01Speaker 3: Pleaded no contest to racing and dangerous excessive speeding, ending
- 49:05Speaker 3: the criminal case that began when deputies accused him of
- 49:08Speaker 3: racing a Corvette. He received a year of supervised probation,
- 49:15Speaker 3: a $ 500 fine, and an advanced driver improvement course while
- 49:19Speaker 3: his driving profession were taken away. He spent more than $ 7, 000
- 49:23Speaker 3: on legal costs, but losing the ability to drive has
- 49:26Speaker 3: been the hardest part. He says, I can't do anything.
- 49:28Speaker 3: I'm not in jail, but I'm behind bars in my house.
- 49:37Speaker 1: Any person of that age, if you're in your 80s,
- 49:42Speaker 1: And you can drive over the speed limit. That should
- 49:46Speaker 1: be an automatic pardon.
- 49:50Speaker 3: The fact that you're not camped out in, in the
- 49:52Speaker 3: left lane going 20.
- 49:54Speaker 1: Yes.
- 49:55Speaker 2: And I was, I was with the rest of us.
- 49:57Speaker 1: I was stuck behind someone yesterday. This here's the other thing.
- 50:01Speaker 3: I'm not sure you finished the first thing, but okay.
- 50:05Speaker 1: This is kind of a side note. It amazes me.
- 50:09Speaker 1: I'm stuck behind this woman. She's in a brand new
- 50:11Speaker 1: Lexus SUV going 22 in a 40 in the left lane,
- 50:19Speaker 1: you know, 10 and two, like, like she's doing her best. Like, Hey,
- 50:26Speaker 1: why are you in a brand new car? Why? But
- 50:30Speaker 1: if you, if you are, and I, this is, I,
- 50:34Speaker 1: I think about this every time this happens of, I
- 50:38Speaker 1: pray I never get to that point. I pray in
- 50:41Speaker 1: my mid eighties, I can still at least handle a
- 50:45Speaker 1: vehicle enough to speed. Yeah. I don't want, I don't
- 50:50Speaker 1: want to be going 110 in a, in a residential
- 50:52Speaker 1: area or anything like that, but there should be some
- 50:57Speaker 1: leniency on this man for the fact that he could
- 50:59Speaker 1: still wheel a car enough to go 110 at that
- 51:01Speaker 1: age and not wreck it.
- 51:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 51:06Speaker 1: Come on, Florida. As screwed up as you are, you
- 51:10Speaker 1: should allow some leniency for this.
- 51:13Speaker 2: Do the right thing, Florida.
- 51:16Speaker 3: Also, you need to help this man because his wife
- 51:19Speaker 3: might kill him. He's married and she does not drive.
- 51:24Speaker 3: And because he is legally barred from driving, they don't
- 51:29Speaker 3: get to go out to eat anymore. And in the story,
- 51:32Speaker 3: he says that to the news. He says, and I quote,
- 51:35Speaker 3: We can't go out to eat no more. I'm a
- 51:37Speaker 3: dead man walking.
- 51:42Speaker 1: Now on the flip side, I'd say, listen, old man,
- 51:46Speaker 1: there's an app called Uber. Download it. You can go around.
- 51:49Speaker 1: Or the other thing is you were driving 110 miles
- 51:53Speaker 1: an hour. You care about the law that much that
- 51:56Speaker 1: you're not going to chance it?
- 52:00Speaker 3: Really?
- 52:00Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 52:01Speaker 3: That's a good point. He was like, I'm going 110
- 52:04Speaker 3: miles an hour. Clearly don't care about the posted speed
- 52:07Speaker 3: limit or breaking the law in that regard. But now
- 52:08Speaker 3: that he's got a suspended license, his car is in
- 52:11Speaker 3: the garage, but he's not taking the chance.
- 52:13Speaker 1: Yeah. It's fascinating. You're worried about it. He said 85?
- 52:20Speaker 1: 86 now. 86.
- 52:22Speaker 2: 86.
- 52:26Speaker 1: Yeah, what do you really care? What's the worst that's
- 52:29Speaker 1: going to happen now? They're going to take away your license? Yeah.
- 52:35Speaker 2: Never would have stopped my grandmother.
- 52:37Speaker 1: Yeah, come on, Florida man.
- 52:39Speaker 2: We have more faith in you than that. Do better.
- 52:48Speaker 2: Live up to your name. For all things Treehouse, treehouseonair.com.
