- 2:01Speaker 1: on that retreat, so you can just imagine how everybody
- 2:04Speaker 1: else is going to feel. It's an empowering experience designed
- 2:08Speaker 1: to inspire, uplift and renew. That's one of the reasons
- 2:11Speaker 1: why I'm going, because I want to red. She's no stranger,
- 2:15Speaker 1: the basic Black app the dog. So please join me
- 2:18Speaker 1: and welcoming Apostle Kimberly Thomas.
- 2:30Speaker 2: Hi, good evening, good evening, good evening.
- 2:34Speaker 1: Hi, thank you, thank you, thank you a thousand times.
- 2:37Speaker 1: Thank you for coming in tonight. I appreciate it.
- 2:41Speaker 3: And I appreciate the opportunity to be on with you tonight.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Now, my producer showed me, sent me a flyer about
- 2:53Speaker 1: a woman's retreat. She first explained it to me and
- 2:55Speaker 1: told me about the women's retreat, and this was what
- 2:57Speaker 1: I think just yesterday, And at first I was saying, Oh,
- 3:01Speaker 1: I got to find somebody to watch the case. But
- 3:03Speaker 1: forget that I'm in. I am in a women's retreat
- 3:07Speaker 1: to get away and to renew. Yes a man. But
- 3:10Speaker 1: what ispyed the creation of the color outside the lines
- 3:13Speaker 1: women's retreat.
- 3:16Speaker 3: This women's retreat is totally inspired by God. In twenty
- 3:22Speaker 3: twenty two, I just happened to be sitting at my
- 3:26Speaker 3: desk just thinking about some things that women go through,
- 3:30Speaker 3: different things that we experience, and the Lord just dropped
- 3:34Speaker 3: color outside the lines in my spirit. And after that
- 3:39Speaker 3: he began to just put all the pieces together. So
- 3:42Speaker 3: the inception of color outside the lines began really just
- 3:46Speaker 3: from a thought of women and the fact that there
- 3:50Speaker 3: are many times that we as women, we don't really
- 3:55Speaker 3: know our true identity. We kind of walk in the
- 4:00Speaker 3: and the shadows of others. So as color outside the
- 4:04Speaker 3: lines began to developed, it was really for us to
- 4:08Speaker 3: understand our uniqueness as women as individuals. And so this
- 4:13Speaker 3: is something that the Lord inspired and it's been going
- 4:18Speaker 3: on since twenty twenty two, and we are continuing to
- 4:23Speaker 3: move forward in everything that the Lord has for his daughters.
- 4:29Speaker 1: Wow, I'm I'm just so excited. What is the vision
- 4:33Speaker 1: and the mission behind behind.
- 4:35Speaker 3: The retreating The actual vision and mission behind the retreat
- 4:41Speaker 3: are is the fact that we are individuals, and as individuals,
- 4:47Speaker 3: we need to understand that we were fearfully and wonderfully
- 4:51Speaker 3: made by the Lord. So we are all unique and
- 4:54Speaker 3: it is okay for us to be different. We're not
- 4:57Speaker 3: cookie cutters. Our lives are different, but even our lives
- 5:03Speaker 3: still tend to blend. So there are many of us
- 5:07Speaker 3: as women that have gone through many of the same issues.
- 5:10Speaker 3: We've experienced many different things such as molestation, abuse, domestic violence.
- 5:17Speaker 2: We have been in families where we have had.
- 5:20Speaker 3: Absent fathers, and so color outside the Lines is an
- 5:26Speaker 3: opportunity for us to come together, for the Lord to
- 5:30Speaker 3: really deal with us as women, to make us whole.
- 5:34Speaker 3: You know, we get healed in some areas, but once
- 5:38Speaker 3: we are whole, then we are truly able to walk
- 5:41Speaker 3: out our purpose.
- 5:43Speaker 2: And destiny that God has intended for us to have.
- 5:48Speaker 1: So you could have came up with any other name.
- 5:51Speaker 1: I'm talking about this, just so many of them. Why
- 5:53Speaker 1: colors outside the lines and what does it signify?
- 5:58Speaker 3: Color outside the lines signify the fact that we don't
- 6:02Speaker 3: have to hold on to the idea of making sure
- 6:10Speaker 3: that our picture is perfect when we were growing up,
- 6:15Speaker 3: and the only way that I can really kind of
- 6:17Speaker 3: explain it is, you know, when you were growing up
- 6:20Speaker 3: in school.
- 6:20Speaker 2: Coming up in kindergarten in primary school, you would always have, you.
- 6:25Speaker 3: Know, your art classes and different things, and they would
- 6:28Speaker 3: give you a piece of paper.
- 6:30Speaker 2: They would give you a drawing, and this drawing may
- 6:33Speaker 2: have had lines, and in.
- 6:35Speaker 3: Order for your picture to be considered a perfect picture,
- 6:41Speaker 3: you had to stay within those lines. But in life,
- 6:44Speaker 3: our life is going to go outside the lines, so
- 6:48Speaker 3: we're not bound by the lines. If I want to
- 6:52Speaker 3: color outside the lines or the boundaries of my picture,
- 6:57Speaker 3: it's still a beautiful picture because it individually recognizes me
- 7:03Speaker 3: as an individual, as a person of my own uniqueness.
- 7:08Speaker 3: I may want to make my hair green, or make
- 7:12Speaker 3: my hair purple or blue. That still does not mean
- 7:15Speaker 3: that because my hair is purple, blue, or green, that
- 7:19Speaker 3: I'm not unique, or that I'm not.
- 7:22Speaker 2: Walking in what God has called for me to walk in.
- 7:26Speaker 3: So it's helping us to get outside of the cooker
- 7:30Speaker 3: cutter mentality that we're all. You know, we have to
- 7:34Speaker 3: be prim and proper, and we have to do it
- 7:37Speaker 3: this way because we can be unique in color outside
- 7:41Speaker 3: the lines. We don't have to stay inside the lines
- 7:44Speaker 3: to feel that we're beautiful, to feel that you know,
- 7:48Speaker 3: we are the creation, the creation that God has purpose
- 7:52Speaker 3: and predestined for us to be from the foundation of
- 7:55Speaker 3: the world.
- 7:58Speaker 1: Nicely said, nicely said, So, how how does this retreat
- 8:02Speaker 1: different from other women's events or conferences.
- 8:06Speaker 3: Well, first, color outside of the lines is not a conference,
- 8:12Speaker 3: and that is That was one of the hardest things
- 8:15Speaker 3: to get people to understand. When color outside the lines
- 8:19Speaker 3: was actually when God put it into play, that was
- 8:24Speaker 3: one of the first things that he gave me. And
- 8:28Speaker 3: he dropped in my spirit. This is not a this
- 8:30Speaker 3: is not a women's conference, This is not.
- 8:34Speaker 2: This is not.
- 8:35Speaker 3: Your ordinary retreat. We do things by the leading of
- 8:39Speaker 3: the Holy Spirit. God is totally in charge. He will
- 8:43Speaker 3: give me parts of whatever He wants me to facilitate
- 8:48Speaker 3: within our gathering, but the rest of it is totally
- 8:53Speaker 3: all him.
- 8:54Speaker 2: It is totally God. And so I move under the
- 8:58Speaker 2: option of the Holy Spirit.
- 8:59Speaker 3: Whatever, whatever the Holy Spirit has set aside and designed
- 9:04Speaker 3: for us, that is how we move.
- 9:06Speaker 2: We're not We're not so.
- 9:09Speaker 3: Structure to there is a step by step program and
- 9:13Speaker 3: if the Holy Spirit wants to come in and take control,
- 9:17Speaker 3: we're don't. We're not allowing him because we're bound by
- 9:20Speaker 3: you know what we have on this program.
- 9:23Speaker 2: We do have structures.
- 9:25Speaker 3: But the structure is still the leading of the Holy Spirit.
- 9:30Speaker 3: So we we are totally all in and it's totally God.
- 9:38Speaker 1: I got my mouth shut and make me ready to
- 9:41Speaker 1: pack up. What can participatepect from during the retreat? You
- 9:47Speaker 1: know what what's special? If you can tell us what
- 9:50Speaker 1: can they expect during their retreat?
- 9:54Speaker 3: I think every participant can expect to have to find
- 10:02Speaker 3: some sense of healing, healing, wholeness, deliverance. If you come
- 10:08Speaker 3: with an expectation. There have been As I stated, we
- 10:14Speaker 3: started this in twenty twenty two, and in twenty twenty two,
- 10:18Speaker 3: God absolutely blew my mind with the first color outside
- 10:22Speaker 3: the lines. But every year he just tends to do
- 10:28Speaker 3: more and more and more. So it's really up to
- 10:32Speaker 3: the participant. When you come with an open mind, with
- 10:35Speaker 3: an open heart to receive. When you come with an expectation,
- 10:40Speaker 3: you are able to get whatever it is that you
- 10:43Speaker 3: desire or you're seeking from the Lord. Now, if you come,
- 10:48Speaker 3: and I've had many people. We have done color outside
- 10:52Speaker 3: the line one day intensives or two day intensives in
- 10:56Speaker 3: different cities where God will break it down into various
- 11:00Speaker 3: parts of color outside the lines. But for the most part,
- 11:04Speaker 3: when people hear color outside the lines, they're like, what
- 11:07Speaker 3: does that mean? What do you mean color outside the lines?
- 11:11Speaker 3: You know a lot of people think, oh, well that's
- 11:13Speaker 3: very elementary. You know what is color outside the lines?
- 11:16Speaker 3: And they have this total they have their own view
- 11:21Speaker 3: of what they really think color outside the lines is,
- 11:24Speaker 3: and a lot of times it will cause them to
- 11:27Speaker 3: have a closed mind because they're looking at Okay, well this,
- 11:32Speaker 3: first of all, this is something that I have not
- 11:34Speaker 3: heard of. Second of all, it sounds elementary. So the
- 11:39Speaker 3: Bible tells us that God will take the foolish things
- 11:42Speaker 3: to confound the wise. And so if you really and
- 11:46Speaker 3: truly believe that, and you really and truly understand what
- 11:51Speaker 3: that scripture says, what we think is foolish, God will
- 11:56Speaker 3: take that and he will he will turn that into
- 12:00Speaker 3: something that will absolutely be mind blowing.
- 12:04Speaker 2: It will be something that would be life changing.
- 12:07Speaker 3: So I think anyone who attends color outside the lines,
- 12:11Speaker 3: who is open to receive from God. They will receive
- 12:15Speaker 3: what they come expecting.
- 12:19Speaker 1: I'm looking at the flyer there and I'm just seeing
- 12:22Speaker 1: so many beautiful colors. And to be honest, when I
- 12:25Speaker 1: first looked at it, I didn't understand. You know, the colors,
- 12:28Speaker 1: I said, you know, everybody do they fly away? They
- 12:30Speaker 1: want to do it. But now it's starting to resonate
- 12:33Speaker 1: with me when you're mentioning color outside of the lines
- 12:36Speaker 1: and it is all outside of the lines, but it's
- 12:40Speaker 1: still a beautiful color, and that the colors are beautiful,
- 12:43Speaker 1: and again I didn't understand what. And it brings you
- 12:46Speaker 1: back where the focus is not on you, the focus
- 12:48Speaker 1: is more so on the colors. So I'm getting it
- 12:51Speaker 1: more and more. I'm not sure what other people may
- 12:53Speaker 1: be thinking, but I'm getting it more and more. Are
- 12:56Speaker 1: there specific workshops or sessions that you're most excited about,
- 13:01Speaker 1: because I know, you know the whole program. Is anything
- 13:04Speaker 1: that you're more excited about besides everybody coming, you know,
- 13:09Speaker 1: like maybe a specific workshop or a specific session or something.
- 13:14Speaker 3: There is there is one part of color outside the
- 13:18Speaker 3: lines where God just does his thing. And I don't
- 13:23Speaker 3: know how to explain it other than that he gives.
- 13:28Speaker 3: He gives us a task and in that task, he
- 13:34Speaker 3: just he does his thing. And that is that's the
- 13:37Speaker 3: most powerful part of Color Outside of the Lines to me,
- 13:42Speaker 3: because not only does God do what he does, and
- 13:46Speaker 3: what he does he does well, the fact that he
- 13:50Speaker 3: utilizes little O Me to help to facilitate what he does,
- 13:57Speaker 3: that is that's the most rewarding part for me with
- 14:01Speaker 3: the whole retreat is to see how God just does
- 14:06Speaker 3: what he does and to be a part of what
- 14:10Speaker 3: he's doing.
- 14:13Speaker 1: Wow, it sounds like there's gonna be so many activities
- 14:15Speaker 1: and things to do, special presentations. How do the activities
- 14:20Speaker 1: align with the overall theme of empowerment and renewal?
- 14:26Speaker 3: As far as the activities we when we first come
- 14:31Speaker 3: to Color Outside of the Lines, we have a session
- 14:33Speaker 3: where is our opening session, where we come together and
- 14:37Speaker 3: we begin to bond as sisters. We God will just
- 14:42Speaker 3: open up we have. It's kind of like a slumber party,
- 14:47Speaker 3: so to speak. You know how you used to get
- 14:49Speaker 3: with your girls and you would have some slumber parties
- 14:52Speaker 3: and no topic was off limits. So when we come together,
- 14:58Speaker 3: our initial session is just a huge slumber party among women.
- 15:04Speaker 2: And there are women that come from various states.
- 15:08Speaker 3: We have many women that come from different states and
- 15:11Speaker 3: we gather and a lot of times they don't know
- 15:14Speaker 3: each other.
- 15:15Speaker 2: So this is our time of bonding.
- 15:17Speaker 3: This is our time of seeing how our colors intertwine
- 15:22Speaker 3: at some point in our stories, that our lives come
- 15:26Speaker 3: together as being really sisters and being connected just from
- 15:31Speaker 3: the various things that we have experienced as children, as
- 15:37Speaker 3: young adults, as adults even experience in our current life.
- 15:41Speaker 3: We see the similarities that we have, but we also
- 15:45Speaker 3: begin to understand our uniqueness.
- 15:50Speaker 1: From what I'm feeling, you're gonna be There's gonna be
- 15:52Speaker 1: so many women there that's probably gonna mirror each other
- 15:56Speaker 1: and not even realize it until after they start to
- 15:59Speaker 1: engage and and see that they're not alone. You know,
- 16:04Speaker 1: you're gonna have different types of speakers. Is there a
- 16:07Speaker 1: keynote speaker or a special guest? We should be looking
- 16:09Speaker 1: forward to a hand from.
- 16:11Speaker 3: The Holy Spirit. That's our keynote speaker. We don't we do.
- 16:19Speaker 1: We don't have to say anything else. That was enough.
- 16:23Speaker 1: That is the best speaker. Wow, you just thank you
- 16:31Speaker 1: for that, Thank you for that. Yes, see, the Holy
- 16:34Speaker 1: Spirit is a keynote speaker. That I'm going to try
- 16:37Speaker 1: to muscle my way to the front to get up there,
- 16:42Speaker 1: to to listen, just to listen and and to take
- 16:45Speaker 1: it all in. So will there be an opportunity for
- 16:49Speaker 1: networking and building lasting relationships because you're saying that it's
- 16:53Speaker 1: like a sisterhood, and I think that some people are
- 16:55Speaker 1: going to be networking anyway, but is there going to
- 16:57Speaker 1: be a set time or opportunity for them to relationship.
- 17:02Speaker 3: I think the throughout the whole retreat there's networking going on,
- 17:08Speaker 3: and there are so much relationship building. During our last
- 17:14Speaker 3: session in July of last year, when we were in Gatlinburg,
- 17:19Speaker 3: there was we formed an actual chat group. So now
- 17:25Speaker 3: where the attendees that were there, they all have built
- 17:32Speaker 3: their own bonds. They all have connected with one another.
- 17:35Speaker 3: So now they have sisters. They have sisters in different states.
- 17:39Speaker 3: For those that did not have sisters, or don't have
- 17:43Speaker 3: a natural sister, or don't have that bond with their
- 17:47Speaker 3: their biological sisters or what have you, they have formed
- 17:51Speaker 3: a sisterhood. And so I believe that every every year
- 17:57Speaker 3: there is a relationship building that takes place among the attendees.
- 18:04Speaker 3: We have a private Facebook page where everyone who has attended,
- 18:10Speaker 3: whether it has been one of the one or two
- 18:13Speaker 3: day intensives or if it has been one of the
- 18:17Speaker 3: weekend retreats, they are all included in our private group.
- 18:22Speaker 2: And so this is a time.
- 18:23Speaker 3: Where we share stories, we encourage each other, we send
- 18:29Speaker 3: out little messages, and we incorporate different things of parts
- 18:34Speaker 3: of our lives and stay connected. So there's always that
- 18:38Speaker 3: opportunity for networking. I had to come to the realization
- 18:43Speaker 3: I'm gonna be transparent right now to the point to
- 18:47Speaker 3: really realize that I'm just the conduit for God. And
- 18:52Speaker 3: I truly believe that God uses me to bring others together,
- 18:59Speaker 3: to work together, to network because just there used to not.
- 19:04Speaker 2: Be a time. There used to be a time in
- 19:06Speaker 2: my life where that would bother.
- 19:08Speaker 3: Me when I would bring people and you know, they
- 19:11Speaker 3: would connect and then disconnect from me and you know,
- 19:13Speaker 3: go their separate ways once they have come in and
- 19:17Speaker 3: gathered information and did all of these things. But I
- 19:21Speaker 3: had to realize that I'm annoying to do what I do.
- 19:25Speaker 3: So every other individual that God has anoyan to do
- 19:32Speaker 3: a certain thing, that's what they're.
- 19:34Speaker 2: Annoyinged to do.
- 19:36Speaker 3: And my thing is I'm anoyan to bring people together.
- 19:41Speaker 3: I'm anoyan to facilitate healing and deliverance.
- 19:47Speaker 2: I'm annoying for that.
- 19:49Speaker 3: And I realized that, and so it, like I said,
- 19:52Speaker 3: once we find our place and who we really are
- 19:56Speaker 3: in God, we can get past the the shadiness.
- 20:01Speaker 2: We can get past.
- 20:02Speaker 3: All of the you know, I'm gonna be the gatekeeper
- 20:05Speaker 3: of this information.
- 20:06Speaker 2: I'm not gonna tell you this, I'm not gonna share
- 20:08Speaker 2: this with you.
- 20:09Speaker 3: When we get past that, we can really move for
- 20:14Speaker 3: the kingdom. And that's a great problem for us as
- 20:18Speaker 3: a whole. We can't get past the fact that God
- 20:23Speaker 3: gives us things to not be gatekeepers, but for us
- 20:27Speaker 3: to give the information on It's not minority.
- 20:31Speaker 2: It belongs to God. Go outside the lines, belong to God.
- 20:35Speaker 3: I'm just the person that He has utilized to facilitate
- 20:39Speaker 3: what he desires for his daughters. So networking has never
- 20:44Speaker 3: been has not been one of my issues in this
- 20:50Speaker 3: It has not been one of my issues in any
- 20:52Speaker 3: of the empowerment meetings or empowerment sessions that God has
- 20:58Speaker 3: allowed me to do. That's not an issue because of
- 21:02Speaker 3: the simple fact that I don't have everything that everybody needs.
- 21:09Speaker 2: I'm not one man show. I'm not an island. It
- 21:12Speaker 2: takes all of us. And so what I don't have,
- 21:16Speaker 2: somebody else that is there may have what another individual needs.
- 21:21Speaker 3: And God is so he's so awesome in that because
- 21:25Speaker 3: I have seen him even in the midst of color
- 21:28Speaker 3: outside the lines. When he begins to do what he does,
- 21:32Speaker 3: he will also move others to help to facilitate some
- 21:38Speaker 3: of the things that he does.
- 21:40Speaker 2: So, like I said, this is all him, This is
- 21:44Speaker 2: totally all God.
- 21:45Speaker 1: Yes it is. Yes, it is a man. And amen.
- 21:48Speaker 1: You have some people that are charming in saying hello,
- 21:52Speaker 1: You're having them saying that part. You're having them saying
- 21:55Speaker 1: that they can't wait, someone saying yes, yes, just that
- 22:00Speaker 1: what collaboration is all about. You have Chinett, Patrese and
- 22:08Speaker 1: the crew that they're all chiming in and they're saying
- 22:11Speaker 1: they men. So you know, you've just got people already
- 22:15Speaker 1: all excited, you know for this. Who is this retreat
- 22:19Speaker 1: designed for and what kind of women would benefit the most?
- 22:24Speaker 2: Any women?
- 22:25Speaker 3: Any woman, any woman, If you are a woman, this
- 22:31Speaker 3: retreat is for you.
- 22:33Speaker 2: There is no age limit.
- 22:35Speaker 3: We have had as young as eighteen nineteen, all the
- 22:39Speaker 3: way up to well and seventy years old.
- 22:44Speaker 2: So there is no it's not that we cut it off.
- 22:48Speaker 3: We want them to at least be of age. But
- 22:52Speaker 3: if you're eighteen years old, this retreat is for you.
- 22:56Speaker 3: If you're twenty thirty, forty, fifty, sixty, seventy, this retreat
- 23:01Speaker 3: is for you. For the simple fact that we all
- 23:06Speaker 3: are God's daughters and we have all grownd something.
- 23:12Speaker 1: So what are some of the biggest transformations that you've
- 23:14Speaker 1: witnessed from past retreating?
- 23:15Speaker 2: Oh?
- 23:16Speaker 3: My God, woo Okay, Like I said, the first retreat,
- 23:23Speaker 3: God absolutely blew my mind.
- 23:25Speaker 2: That was one that we had.
- 23:26Speaker 3: One of our youngest attendees to be in our miss
- 23:32Speaker 3: and she was a college student.
- 23:34Speaker 2: Her mother was there.
- 23:37Speaker 3: She was going to be one of the facilitators. Her
- 23:40Speaker 3: mother was one of the facilitators. At the last minute
- 23:44Speaker 3: she notified me said can I come, yes, yes, And
- 23:50Speaker 3: so this baby drove. We weren't We didn't go to
- 23:55Speaker 3: the mountains that year. The first year we were in Bradington, Florida,
- 23:59Speaker 3: she drove from to to Brandington. And the way that
- 24:04Speaker 3: God moved everything was centered around her and her deliverance. See,
- 24:12Speaker 3: this is the thing that I tell you when when
- 24:15Speaker 3: I know that it's not me and it's God. God
- 24:17Speaker 3: knows who's gonna be there, and he knows what is needed.
- 24:24Speaker 1: So it's like the unexpected that expected.
- 24:28Speaker 3: Yes, yes, I never know. Every year there's somebody that
- 24:37Speaker 3: I'll say this, and I'm saying it for a lack
- 24:41Speaker 3: of better words, that need the transformation, the empowerment more
- 24:48Speaker 3: than others or more than the in the room.
- 24:55Speaker 1: They stepped forward. They were chosen me, me, me, he right, he, yes,
- 25:03Speaker 1: I know everybody's then whish did it was them? But
- 25:06Speaker 1: if we knew everybody's story, then we would understand that's
- 25:10Speaker 1: why that person was chosen. We're chosen too, but not
- 25:13Speaker 1: at the time that that person may be chosen. Yeah,
- 25:17Speaker 1: I definitely get this. So how do you hope participants
- 25:20Speaker 1: will feel by the end of the retreat?
- 25:22Speaker 2: Oh, my God, like I feel.
- 25:25Speaker 3: I really hope that they will be empowered. I hope
- 25:29Speaker 3: that they will be free. That's that's my My biggest
- 25:34Speaker 3: hope is that women. A lot of the women that
- 25:39Speaker 3: come to the retreat, they come down, they come loaded,
- 25:45Speaker 3: and at the end of the retreat, I want them
- 25:49Speaker 3: to be free.
- 25:51Speaker 2: I want them to be light.
- 25:54Speaker 3: I want them to leave whatever it was on the mountaintop.
- 26:02Speaker 3: You know.
- 26:03Speaker 1: My my concern with that is it's wonderful that they
- 26:10Speaker 1: would leave that there, but for some they're gonna be
- 26:15Speaker 1: walking right back into it because what's at home hasn't
- 26:19Speaker 1: been up there, and they may not understand that transition
- 26:24Speaker 1: that will be coming through their door. Right. So I'm
- 26:28Speaker 1: hoping that that networking in that sisterhood really holds tight
- 26:32Speaker 1: with people, yes, because I wouldn't want them to say,
- 26:36Speaker 1: you know, I went through all of that for nothing. No,
- 26:39Speaker 1: you didn't go through all of that for nothing. There
- 26:41Speaker 1: was something that was there for you and you just
- 26:44Speaker 1: have to continue to tap into that. Yes, you know,
- 26:47Speaker 1: even though you know you may even be able to
- 26:49Speaker 1: bring that person along with your transformation. But it doesn't
- 26:53Speaker 1: have to be. It could be a male, could be
- 26:55Speaker 1: somebody that's a little younger, you know, somebody that didn't
- 26:58Speaker 1: go but you can bring them through that transformation because
- 27:03Speaker 1: you have a sisterhood that will be there to help
- 27:05Speaker 1: you as well. Yes, you know if you feel this though,
- 27:08Speaker 1: it's happening. So I don't want anybody to think that
- 27:11Speaker 1: what happened up there stays up there. No, carry with you.
- 27:15Speaker 1: That's right carry connect with you, because it's going to
- 27:18Speaker 1: be so very important for you to do that. How
- 27:21Speaker 1: do you address topics like self care, heal and personal
- 27:25Speaker 1: growth during the retreat?
- 27:27Speaker 3: That is something that we deal with there are God
- 27:33Speaker 3: has given me a portion of color outside the line
- 27:38Speaker 3: to where he has developed a thirty day self care
- 27:44Speaker 3: manual FORGN individuals to take back with them. So we
- 27:49Speaker 3: have those. We talk about so many different things, the
- 27:53Speaker 3: fact that we need each other, we need that outlet,
- 27:57Speaker 3: we need that time, that space. We have to take
- 27:59Speaker 3: care of ourselves. So many of us are always taking
- 28:02Speaker 3: care of somebody else. You know, it's always somebody else,
- 28:05Speaker 3: putting somebody else's needs before hours, making sure everybody else
- 28:10Speaker 3: is okay, and neglecting ourselves. And I'll raise my hand
- 28:13Speaker 3: because I have been guilty of that. And so it
- 28:16Speaker 3: takes a time for us to understand that I I
- 28:22Speaker 3: was fifty years old before I said, you know what,
- 28:27Speaker 3: I have to do it for me.
- 28:30Speaker 2: I have to show up for me.
- 28:31Speaker 3: I've been showing up for everybody else, but now I
- 28:35Speaker 3: have to do it for me. And I have to
- 28:37Speaker 3: understand that Noah is an answer. And so I've come
- 28:41Speaker 3: to the realization that if I don't care for me,
- 28:46Speaker 3: I'm no good to anybody else. And so that is
- 28:49Speaker 3: one of the things that right, that's one of the things.
- 28:53Speaker 2: That we try to instill.
- 28:55Speaker 3: We want you to understand that you have to be
- 28:59Speaker 3: the best verse version of you, the healthiest version of you,
- 29:03Speaker 3: before you can actually be that for anybody else, because
- 29:08Speaker 3: if you're worn down, drug out, you can you're not
- 29:11Speaker 3: doing anything for anybody else because you're not giving them
- 29:16Speaker 3: the best part of you. You're not giving them that one.
- 29:20Speaker 3: You're just giving them whatever your battery has left. And
- 29:24Speaker 3: we have to understand sometimes that we even have to
- 29:28Speaker 3: unplug no phone. No, I'm not taking calls, I'm not
- 29:32Speaker 3: looking at text, I'm not reading emails today. It's my day,
- 29:35Speaker 3: this is my time, this is me time, and whatever
- 29:38Speaker 3: I want to do with me time, if it's just
- 29:40Speaker 3: sit and watch TV, if it's read a book, if
- 29:43Speaker 3: it's going for a walk, if I just don't want to.
- 29:46Speaker 2: Do anything, I am entitled to do that.
- 29:50Speaker 1: And so that's that and people permission to do that.
- 29:55Speaker 1: You have the producer saying yes no is a complete
- 30:00Speaker 1: and and it's one of the some of the well
- 30:02Speaker 1: one of the shortest words in the dictionary. But it's
- 30:05Speaker 1: one of the strongest words in the dictionary, and it
- 30:08Speaker 1: can mean so many things. Is just that some people
- 30:11Speaker 1: take it always for the negative. Now I ask you earlier,
- 30:14Speaker 1: what are some of the biggest transformations you witnessed from
- 30:17Speaker 1: the past retreats? But what I wanted to know is,
- 30:20Speaker 1: can you share a moment from a past retreat that
- 30:22Speaker 1: really embodied this purpose?
- 30:27Speaker 3: Oh, let's see a moment from the past retreat that
- 30:38Speaker 3: embodies color outside the lines.
- 30:44Speaker 2: I would think.
- 30:50Speaker 3: Just in sharing just a little bit of our experience
- 30:54Speaker 3: last year, because when we color outside the lines, that
- 30:58Speaker 3: means sometimes we're going against the odds, we're pushing against
- 31:03Speaker 3: the prick, and we're up against opposition and different things
- 31:08Speaker 3: when we are really trying to be all that we
- 31:12Speaker 3: can be, all that God has called us to be,
- 31:15Speaker 3: walking in our uniqueness. So this past year we went
- 31:20Speaker 3: through great struggles just even getting to color outside the lines.
- 31:24Speaker 3: I experienced so much warfare up until the very night
- 31:28Speaker 3: before we were supposed to leave.
- 31:31Speaker 2: We had gone through so much.
- 31:33Speaker 3: I normally for the group that travels from Tallahassee, I
- 31:39Speaker 3: always our rent a vehicle will drive together as a group,
- 31:43Speaker 3: and so I do this well in advance to make
- 31:47Speaker 3: sure that we have everything that we need. We leave
- 31:50Speaker 3: that Friday morning, early before day, and that Thursday everything
- 31:57Speaker 3: began to fall. That Wednesday, excuse me, wind says, when
- 32:00Speaker 3: it all started, it began to fall apart. I was
- 32:03Speaker 3: supposed to pick the vehicle up on that Thursday. I
- 32:06Speaker 3: got a call, Sorry, we don't have your vehicle. So
- 32:11Speaker 3: then I went on a two state vehicle chase.
- 32:19Speaker 2: I went to Georgia. I was sent to Georgia by
- 32:22Speaker 2: the rental car company.
- 32:25Speaker 3: Then I was sent to Alabama to get vehicles that
- 32:30Speaker 3: were not there. We made reservations. I called the company,
- 32:36Speaker 3: gave a company a deposit. They were giving us two
- 32:40Speaker 3: vans that were supposed to have drivers. And we get
- 32:43Speaker 3: to Thursday, Thursday, here we are. I called to confirm
- 32:50Speaker 3: with the company that I made the deposit with, and
- 32:53Speaker 3: I'm confirming, Hey, we're leaving tomorrow. Want to make sure
- 32:57Speaker 3: your drivers are going to be at the church at
- 33:00Speaker 3: no later than three fifteen am. And their response was
- 33:06Speaker 3: what I thought, it was three fifteen pm.
- 33:10Speaker 2: Sorry, we're not going to be able to do it.
- 33:12Speaker 2: So now we have.
- 33:13Speaker 3: Money tied up in a contract with a company that
- 33:18Speaker 3: was supposed to pick us up take us to the mountains.
- 33:22Speaker 3: I had a special reservation for two vehicles. I get
- 33:28Speaker 3: a call just before getting ready to go pick them up. Hey, sorry,
- 33:33Speaker 3: there's no vehicles. There's a recall now on these vehicles.
- 33:38Speaker 3: So now I'm in a pan and this is just
- 33:41Speaker 3: this is going on, and we're leaving at three thirty
- 33:45Speaker 3: in the morning, and we don't have a vehicle, and
- 33:48Speaker 3: so I'm just losing it, and I just begin I
- 33:51Speaker 3: had to stop.
- 33:52Speaker 2: I began to pray.
- 33:53Speaker 3: I called together all of the ladies that were traveling
- 33:56Speaker 3: with me, and I told them our dilemma.
- 33:59Speaker 2: So and the.
- 34:00Speaker 3: Last hour, God provided a vehicle for us. So when
- 34:05Speaker 3: the scripture.
- 34:05Speaker 2: Says he has a ram in the bush, he literally
- 34:09Speaker 2: had a ram in the bush for us.
- 34:12Speaker 3: This was a vehicle that we were not supposed to
- 34:15Speaker 3: have because nobody had these vehicles anymore, because the military
- 34:19Speaker 3: had them on reserve, and so the vehicle was not
- 34:22Speaker 3: even supposed to be.
- 34:25Speaker 2: Able for us to get. But God had a ram
- 34:28Speaker 2: in the bush. We start on our journey.
- 34:33Speaker 3: When we get there, when I tell you the deliverance
- 34:37Speaker 3: that took place, once we got on the mountain top
- 34:43Speaker 3: it was worth it all, and it meant so much because.
- 34:48Speaker 2: It showed that even in coloring outside the lines, you
- 34:53Speaker 2: have to persevere.
- 34:54Speaker 3: Sometimes you're going against all arts because everybody's telling you
- 34:59Speaker 3: you got to stay within the You can't go outside
- 35:02Speaker 3: of this line. Your sky is not supposed to be green.
- 35:05Speaker 3: It's supposed to be blue. Why is your sky green
- 35:08Speaker 3: and your grass blue? Why are your animals purple? People
- 35:14Speaker 3: are telling us that we have to stay right here
- 35:17Speaker 3: in this boundary, but we have to persevere and we
- 35:21Speaker 3: have to move beyond what we are being told because
- 35:26Speaker 3: we are unique. And so this was the thing that
- 35:29Speaker 3: really helped me to see that even in the midst
- 35:33Speaker 3: of it.
- 35:34Speaker 2: All, we have to persevere.
- 35:36Speaker 3: And if nobody else has to persevere, I have to
- 35:39Speaker 3: persevere because with color outside the lines, I have to
- 35:44Speaker 3: push against all odds and no matter what, no matter
- 35:49Speaker 3: what's gonna take. Because my husband, at the point when
- 35:51Speaker 3: we were down and had no idea what we were
- 35:54Speaker 3: gonna have, he was like, look, we have two SUVs.
- 35:57Speaker 3: We're gonna hook the trailer up, throw the luggage on
- 35:59Speaker 3: one of the trailers.
- 36:00Speaker 2: Drive one, you drive the other.
- 36:01Speaker 3: You're gonna go, you know, So this is how crucial
- 36:05Speaker 3: it was, because there's no such thing as we're canceling.
- 36:10Speaker 2: There's no such thing. And we would have had to to.
- 36:13Speaker 3: Get five little cars and put two people in each
- 36:17Speaker 3: little car.
- 36:18Speaker 2: Somehow we were.
- 36:19Speaker 3: Going to get there because there was a mandate. And
- 36:24Speaker 3: for me, color outside the lines is a mandate because
- 36:28Speaker 3: God has entrusted me with his vision of getting his
- 36:34Speaker 3: daughters free.
- 36:36Speaker 1: Well, it sounds like he chose the correct person, the
- 36:39Speaker 1: right person and at the right time. Where and when
- 36:42Speaker 1: will the retreat take place? And how can women register
- 36:46Speaker 1: for it?
- 36:47Speaker 3: The retreat will take place July the twenty fifth through
- 36:52Speaker 3: the twenty seventh, and it will be held in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
- 36:58Speaker 2: We have a reserve, We have reserved a hotel there.
- 37:05Speaker 3: It is on a Christian retreat campus and we have
- 37:11Speaker 3: an exclusive thirty two room hotel. So that weekend it
- 37:18Speaker 3: is totally ours. There's no staff, there is nothing, and
- 37:23Speaker 3: no one other than the participants of the retreat. It
- 37:29Speaker 3: is totally ours. We do everything there. We fellowship, we cook,
- 37:34Speaker 3: we eat, we have all of the all of our
- 37:40Speaker 3: meetings and everything take place right there. So this is
- 37:46Speaker 3: our time. This is truly a time for bonding. This
- 37:49Speaker 3: is a time for us to get together and come together.
- 37:53Speaker 3: As far as anyone who is interested in in coming
- 38:00Speaker 3: to the retreat, You can actually reserve your space. You
- 38:03Speaker 3: can send an email to me and I will give
- 38:09Speaker 3: you the information to send the deposit. The deposit to
- 38:12Speaker 3: hold your room is seventy five dollars, which is a
- 38:15Speaker 3: non refundable deposit, but it is seventy five dollars to
- 38:20Speaker 3: hold your space. And then the total retreat is two
- 38:25Speaker 3: eighty dollars, which includes your three days and two night
- 38:30Speaker 3: accommodations and all of your meals and all of the
- 38:34Speaker 3: retreat materials.
- 38:37Speaker 1: Wow. So for women who want to go that are
- 38:42Speaker 1: lack of funds, is there scholarship opportunity for those women
- 38:46Speaker 1: one or ten.
- 38:48Speaker 3: There is not a certain scholarship. But each year the
- 38:52Speaker 3: Lord will lay it upon my heart to where I
- 38:55Speaker 3: have been able to at least sponsor two to three women.
- 38:59Speaker 2: So if there are women.
- 39:02Speaker 3: Who actually are not able, I am always open to
- 39:08Speaker 3: working with anybody that is not able to actually afford
- 39:14Speaker 3: to attend the retreat. We do have individuals that will
- 39:18Speaker 3: sometimes sponsor individuals.
- 39:21Speaker 2: I have had one or two people in the past.
- 39:24Speaker 3: Our first year that actually sponsored a lady or two
- 39:28Speaker 3: to attend.
- 39:29Speaker 2: So really and truly, there's a lot.
- 39:32Speaker 3: Of times, and like I said, I'm gonna be transparent,
- 39:36Speaker 3: there are a lot of times where I'll take care
- 39:40Speaker 3: of things.
- 39:40Speaker 2: And if I have people.
- 39:42Speaker 3: That are there, they may start out okay, here's my deposit,
- 39:47Speaker 3: but they may fall off somewhere down the line.
- 39:52Speaker 2: I don't ever say sorry, you know, sorry you can't come.
- 39:57Speaker 3: Because I don't know what it is individual needs and
- 40:01Speaker 3: I don't know what God has intended for that individual.
- 40:05Speaker 3: And I will never block or miss my blessing about
- 40:08Speaker 3: money because.
- 40:11Speaker 2: God is going to take her of his vision. This
- 40:15Speaker 2: is his vision, So his vision, he's gonna make provision.
- 40:22Speaker 1: To what does expect they expected sides of the group
- 40:25Speaker 1: and how does that enhance the experience.
- 40:31Speaker 3: I don't have an expectation on how many individuals are
- 40:35Speaker 3: going to attend.
- 40:37Speaker 2: I have a desire to see the house.
- 40:39Speaker 3: Field and and seeing the house field, that's my desire.
- 40:45Speaker 3: But if God only sends one person other than myself,
- 40:49Speaker 3: I know that it was meant for that individual. So
- 40:53Speaker 3: I pray and I'm really moved by what God does
- 40:58Speaker 3: because God canntinues to add.
- 41:01Speaker 2: Every year to the number.
- 41:04Speaker 3: I believe when we first started out there were about
- 41:08Speaker 3: thirteen women, and since then we have grown.
- 41:12Speaker 2: We have grown a great deal.
- 41:15Speaker 3: I think our last our last retreat, we may have
- 41:19Speaker 3: had a little over twenty women. So each year God
- 41:23Speaker 3: adds and so this is what I like I said,
- 41:27Speaker 3: I don't put expectation on who's gonna come. I want
- 41:31Speaker 3: whoever will let them come. That's my perspective. And like
- 41:36Speaker 3: I said, I would love to see the house feel.
- 41:38Speaker 3: Each room can holdle up to four people. So if
- 41:42Speaker 3: we pack the house, we can pack the house. If
- 41:46Speaker 3: there's two people to a room, there could be two
- 41:48Speaker 3: people to a room, if there's only one person in
- 41:51Speaker 3: each room.
- 41:51Speaker 2: Whatever God has purpose.
- 41:54Speaker 3: Predestined and ordain for that moment in time, that's what
- 41:59Speaker 3: I'm working.
- 42:01Speaker 1: So what should participants bring or prepare before attending.
- 42:06Speaker 2: An open heart?
- 42:08Speaker 3: An open heart to receive, all you have to do
- 42:11Speaker 3: is pack your bags. And if you desire to have
- 42:15Speaker 3: your spending money for just your travel and everything, that's fine.
- 42:21Speaker 3: There's nothing that's required for anybody to bring.
- 42:25Speaker 2: We provide everything.
- 42:28Speaker 3: I cook every meal that we have. This is how
- 42:32Speaker 3: intimate this experience is.
- 42:35Speaker 2: Every meal that is.
- 42:36Speaker 3: Prepared regardless to the size of the groups. At this point,
- 42:41Speaker 3: these hands have prepared, so everything that is done in
- 42:49Speaker 3: color outside the lines, it is an intimate experience because
- 42:53Speaker 3: God desires to show us a more excellent way. There
- 42:59Speaker 3: are so many of us that don't have the luxury
- 43:03Speaker 3: of having someone to serve us. There's so many and
- 43:08Speaker 3: and the ladies, they always want to put their hands
- 43:12Speaker 3: to it, let us help you, let us do this,
- 43:14Speaker 3: let us do that, and a little selfish in that
- 43:22Speaker 3: sometimes because that's my blessing, that's my way of giving
- 43:28Speaker 3: and showing love to those who are attending.
- 43:34Speaker 1: But sometimes people want to do that for you too
- 43:37Speaker 1: and want you to sit down and take a break,
- 43:40Speaker 1: and you may have to let them do for you
- 43:43Speaker 1: just that, even if it's just one day, if it's
- 43:46Speaker 1: just one meal, because that's taken from them and they
- 43:50Speaker 1: want to give to you to say thank you, and
- 43:53Speaker 1: then may be in a small way, but they may
- 43:57Speaker 1: want to feel that they need to do that. Some
- 44:01Speaker 1: people they may feel they hear what you're saying, but
- 44:04Speaker 1: they feel as though they need to do it. It's
- 44:07Speaker 1: something in them that needs to do it, and it's
- 44:09Speaker 1: not just because you're doing all of that. Maybe they
- 44:12Speaker 1: just need to get away from maybe that moment that
- 44:15Speaker 1: they're in and they need to change their their way
- 44:19Speaker 1: of thinking. And that could be something because they may
- 44:21Speaker 1: be transitioning and going through something at that moment, and
- 44:24Speaker 1: for them to step up and say that that takes
- 44:26Speaker 1: them from that space, so they may want to do that.
- 44:31Speaker 2: I receive it, yes, ma'am.
- 44:34Speaker 1: So is this I know you said this. You've been
- 44:36Speaker 1: doing this since twenty twenty two, yes, and twenty twenty
- 44:40Speaker 1: three and twenty four. Do you have plans to make
- 44:42Speaker 1: it an ongoing series?
- 44:44Speaker 3: Yes, yes, ma'am, until the Lord says anything different. We
- 44:48Speaker 3: will have color outside the lines until he says there's
- 44:52Speaker 3: no more color outside the lines.
- 44:54Speaker 2: And so when the when the assignment is back completed, that's.
- 45:00Speaker 1: You've taken me back when you explain color outside of
- 45:04Speaker 1: the lines, because I'm sitting there remembering elementary school and
- 45:08Speaker 1: me going my sister taught me that I would just color,
- 45:12Speaker 1: and yes, it was outside of the lines plenty of times.
- 45:15Speaker 1: But she showed me how to take the black crown
- 45:19Speaker 1: and go around whatever it was. If it was a circle,
- 45:23Speaker 1: it was a circle, it was a triangle, it was
- 45:25Speaker 1: a triangle, and that's when I would see I could
- 45:29Speaker 1: see it better because it was a darker place, and
- 45:33Speaker 1: I was able to stay in the lines. And I
- 45:35Speaker 1: was so proud of myself that I was able to
- 45:37Speaker 1: stay in the lines, because she always wondered how come
