- 1:40SPEAKER_01: My name is Angela Shelby.
- 1:42SPEAKER_01: And I'm Jenna Lee.
- 1:43SPEAKER_01: And along with our own dialogue, we channel in information from ascended masters, spirit guides, angels and archangels, and other friends in spirit.
- 1:54SPEAKER_01: And we talk about topics like spirituality, sexuality, pleasure, trauma release, and having a different perspective on life.
- 2:05SPEAKER_01: If you're not familiar with channeling, uh, it is allowing higher-dimensional beings to use our voices and our bodies to bring through information.
- 2:15SPEAKER_01: And with this podcast, we are just doing our best to have embodied sensuality and spirituality that meets you exactly where you are.
- 2:25SPEAKER_01: And my friend, what are we talking about today?
- 2:27SPEAKER_00: We're talking about how modern life is killing your libino.
- 2:31SPEAKER_01: Yes, I can totally get behind that.
- 2:34SPEAKER_01: That's my that's a soapbox right there that I can stand on and preach about a while.
- 2:39SPEAKER_00: Yeah, if you stick around, we're gonna teach you how to, even though we live in the modern world, you know how we can see past that, move past that, and increase our libido.
- 2:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 2:53unknown: Yeah.
- 2:54SPEAKER_01: Libido and connection to our souls and our authentic selves more deeply.
- 3:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 3:01SPEAKER_01: And I can't even tell you how often that comes up when in readings for people and just with my own exploration in my life.
- 3:12SPEAKER_01: If you want a deeper love life or a stronger libido, it's getting in touch with our authentic self, our soul self.
- 3:21SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 3:21SPEAKER_01: And I don't think people realize that.
- 3:24SPEAKER_01: I didn't.
- 3:24SPEAKER_01: I was raised Catholic.
- 3:26SPEAKER_01: Sex and spirituality did not live in the same reality unless you were married and there were very specific circumstances.
- 3:32SPEAKER_01: And it was always to make babies.
- 3:34SPEAKER_01: Um our souls are like one of the most erotic things there are.
- 3:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 3:41SPEAKER_01: Our spirits are sexy as fuck.
- 3:44SPEAKER_01: They are it's so much energy, it's that creative life energy.
- 3:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 3:50SPEAKER_01: So yeah, bringing that together, like soul, sex, and spirit all go together.
- 3:55SPEAKER_01: In fact, it is like the most magical mix ever.
- 3:58SPEAKER_00: Yes, I love that.
- 3:59SPEAKER_00: I love that.
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: And getting into with this episode, we're talking about body, mind, and spirit within the modern life, you know, and and you're you're already tuning in and touching in on the spiritual side, and it's all important.
- 4:16SPEAKER_00: They're they're all relative.
- 4:18SPEAKER_00: And so one of the things when I look at when I think of spirit too as well, is my trust or faith and whatever it is for for you, you know, if if that is religion, great.
- 4:31SPEAKER_00: If that is universe, source, creation, if that is higher self or land, whatever it is, there's some sort of connection that we have that is part of us.
- 4:44SPEAKER_00: It is not separate from us.
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: And when I feel that I have discord in my life, or if I have distrust or doubt or and all those are okay things.
- 4:56SPEAKER_00: But when I go back to my higher self or God or universe, and I start to connect in, I start to see myself as one.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: And when I'm disconnected, I'm also disconnected from all these other parts.
- 5:10SPEAKER_00: I'm disconnected from my sexuality, from you know, my libido.
- 5:14SPEAKER_00: I'm in a space of distrust and worry, my mental energy is focused on something else.
- 5:20SPEAKER_00: And that universal life energy, that creative life force energy is not flowing through me effortlessly.
- 5:28SPEAKER_00: And it is effortless, but when we're in when we're not in our body and we have other worries, it'll take away.
- 5:36SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 5:36SPEAKER_01: And if you're an atheist or agnostic, um, think of it as just bringing through your most authentic self.
- 5:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 5:45SPEAKER_01: Your your most authentic being, the best parts of who you are, the most honest parts of who you are.
- 5:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah, exactly.
- 5:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 5:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 5:54SPEAKER_01: And so I I led with that because when it comes up to what people are asking during their readings from spirit, one of the like number one things, 80% of the time that comes up for them to help themselves, spiritual guidance coming through from their own spirit guides.
- 6:16SPEAKER_01: Slow the fuck down.
- 6:20SPEAKER_01: Slow down.
- 6:21SPEAKER_01: Take a pause.
- 6:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 6:23SPEAKER_01: Um, it's usually like the message coming through is like take 10 minutes, at least four days a week, to just sit and be with no agenda, no machines on.
- 6:34SPEAKER_01: Slow down.
- 6:35SPEAKER_01: It brings you back to yourself.
- 6:37SPEAKER_01: It allows you to hear your own internal wisdom.
- 6:40SPEAKER_01: Um, it allows your nervous system and your body to reset.
- 6:44SPEAKER_01: Um, we weren't made to go this fast all the time.
- 6:49SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 6:49SPEAKER_01: Like literally weren't built that way.
- 6:51SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 6:52SPEAKER_00: And it is the learning on how to relax, right?
- 6:56SPEAKER_00: In this modern life, what has been conditioned or programmed is go, go, go.
- 7:02SPEAKER_00: I'll be one to say I was born and raised in New York.
- 7:07SPEAKER_00: The ultimate, like the epitome of go, go, go.
- 7:10SPEAKER_00: Literally go, go, go.
- 7:11SPEAKER_00: And that was life.
- 7:13SPEAKER_00: And I remember coming out of college too, and I worked for a Fortune 1000 company, and I and even I actually had a for another Fortune 1000 company I entered for, and it was go, go, go.
- 7:26SPEAKER_00: It was, we're not taking breaks.
- 7:28SPEAKER_00: You're eating at your actual space, you're not walking away.
- 7:32SPEAKER_00: I mean, and people would do all the healthy things for sure, but I would see majority of people working late.
- 7:39SPEAKER_00: They're working to 7, 8, and I'm here outside of college, and I'm doing that.
- 7:44SPEAKER_00: I'm literally doing that.
- 7:45SPEAKER_00: I remember when I moved out of state to Arizona and people were leaving at 4 p.m.
- 7:50SPEAKER_00: and they were taking breaks and they were in the coffee room.
- 7:53SPEAKER_00: I was like, what the fuck is happening?
- 7:56SPEAKER_00: What is this?
- 7:58SPEAKER_00: And I and I'm like, no, you're the problem, not me.
- 8:01SPEAKER_00: And I and I was in a space where I was moving up, you can say the ladder, the corporate ladder.
- 8:06SPEAKER_00: And so I had I was overseeing people, and I'm like, what?
- 8:10SPEAKER_00: No, no, no, no.
- 8:11SPEAKER_00: We're like, we gotta, we gotta do something.
- 8:13SPEAKER_00: So I learned to not relax as we all do.
- 8:18SPEAKER_00: And then the big thing that I learned along my journey in the spiritual journeys, I did I slowed down and I love it, but I realized I was also distracting myself from other things.
- 8:30SPEAKER_00: I was distracting myself from facing certain things in my life.
- 8:34SPEAKER_00: I was distracting myself through my work.
- 8:37SPEAKER_00: And maybe I, you know, I saw that as this is success and my value, and I need to keep doing that instead of resting, because resting would mean I'm unproductive.
- 8:45SPEAKER_00: And if I'm unproductive, what value do I give to the world?
- 8:49SPEAKER_00: So when I unwired all these beliefs and I realized that's not fucking true, I like to veg out now.
- 8:55SPEAKER_00: What I call potato and vegging.
- 8:57SPEAKER_00: Uh-huh.
- 8:58SPEAKER_01: And it's productive.
- 9:00SPEAKER_01: That's the other thing.
- 9:01SPEAKER_01: Potatoing and vegging is productive work.
- 9:04SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 9:05SPEAKER_01: It allows ideas to come to us, it allows us to recharge and reset.
- 9:11SPEAKER_01: Um, one of the signs that your modern life is killing your libido and basically killing you as well.
- 9:22SPEAKER_01: Can you relax without chemical help?
- 9:26SPEAKER_01: If you cannot relax without chemical assistance, you are on overload.
- 9:32SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 9:32SPEAKER_01: Overload.
- 9:34SPEAKER_01: Like it, you're your nervous system is maxed out to the point where it's just in a knot and vibrating all the time.
- 9:43SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 9:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 9:44SPEAKER_00: Like, and there's nothing wrong with people that that um you drink or things like that.
- 9:50SPEAKER_00: But you know, I mean, if you're like, oh, I can't wait for a happy hour and like I need that drink, I need it to relax, then that's that's a difference because there's a difference in like you're social and you're excited, and then it's like, no, no, no, I need this fix to come back to normalcy.
- 10:08SPEAKER_00: And the truth is you it's actually this dysregulation within and avoidance and using this other space that is actually just covering up deeper, deeper things.
- 10:21SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 10:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 10:22unknown: Yeah.
- 10:23SPEAKER_00: Cause I like to veg out and potato out, and I do not like it's veggies and all kinds of sniggity snacks.
- 10:31SPEAKER_01: I have to plan out the time and carve it out.
- 10:33SPEAKER_01: I could go 24-7.
- 10:35SPEAKER_01: That's how it was raised.
- 10:37SPEAKER_01: It was, it is the culture of my family.
- 10:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 10:41SPEAKER_01: Um, to relax is to like be outside taking care of the horses, it's to be out doing chores, it's to be doing something all the time.
- 10:50SPEAKER_01: And that may be relaxing, but it is not restful.
- 10:55SPEAKER_01: It is always doing.
- 10:57SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 10:57SPEAKER_01: And the older I have gotten, my body and my nervous system have been like, screw you.
- 11:03SPEAKER_01: I'm like, I can't do this anymore.
- 11:05SPEAKER_01: I can't take this.
- 11:06SPEAKER_01: And I've actually had uh my spirit guides come to me and be like, you can't keep going like this.
- 11:14SPEAKER_01: Like, we're telling you right now, if you're not getting enough sleep, getting enough rest, and relaxing on a regular basis, you're gonna fry out.
- 11:25SPEAKER_01: And all of these things that you have asked to do, like better connection, to be, you know, a better channel, to uh manifest more abundance, to do those things, they're like your hosed.
- 11:38SPEAKER_01: It's not gonna work out for you.
- 11:39SPEAKER_01: You have got to do basic things, yeah.
- 11:42SPEAKER_01: And basic, like rest, basic, basic, basic rest to get ahead of work literally from the people who navigate best for me.
- 11:54SPEAKER_01: It was you have got to rest to get ahead in the world.
- 11:58SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 11:59SPEAKER_00: And kind of gotta fill your cup up.
- 12:01SPEAKER_00: Yes, you gotta fill your cup up because that's where it flows from.
- 12:04SPEAKER_00: And then you could you're gonna get burnt out and then be miserable and or like have a mental breakdown or collapse.
- 12:13SPEAKER_00: And so that's that's not good.
- 12:15SPEAKER_00: We wanna we wanna enjoy.
- 12:16SPEAKER_00: And then we're we're talking here about libido.
- 12:18SPEAKER_00: How can you how can you even think about your sex life or even feel like you have a sex drive when your body is literally surviving?
- 12:28SPEAKER_01: Yes, it's literally trying to figure out how to survive actually in fight or flight all the time, whether we realize it or not.
- 12:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 12:38SPEAKER_01: Like my ancestors, our ancestors, you had time to hold still.
- 12:46SPEAKER_01: You stopped at five every night.
- 12:47SPEAKER_01: You know, Dolly Parton singing about oh god, the horror of nine to five.
- 12:51SPEAKER_01: I'm like, bitch, nine to five is precious.
- 12:54SPEAKER_01: That's nothing.
- 12:55SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's nothing, that's great.
- 12:58SPEAKER_01: Those are those are light hours, yeah.
- 13:00SPEAKER_01: You know, I remember doing that, like being in nursing school, working a nursing job, and I'm like, that's nothing.
- 13:06SPEAKER_01: Nine to five, that's a pipe dream now.
- 13:09SPEAKER_01: In a lot of ways, it is in this culture.
- 13:12SPEAKER_01: So to take back our lives and our libidos, we've got to slow down, and that includes like technology and information as well.
- 13:25SPEAKER_01: I remember hearing uh a neuroscientist talk about the internet and social media and how we scroll.
- 13:33SPEAKER_01: He goes, our brains were not made to go move work that fast.
- 13:38SPEAKER_01: We were literally not made to process information that quickly.
- 13:42SPEAKER_01: It stresses our brains out.
- 13:45SPEAKER_01: Uh, my sister just recently um experienced uh head trauma.
- 13:51SPEAKER_01: She fell uh and crushed a part of her skull right here.
- 13:55SPEAKER_01: And in her recovery, her doctor said, You can't look at Facebook.
- 14:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 14:00SPEAKER_01: It will stress your brain out too much.
- 14:02SPEAKER_01: Your brain is recovering, you can't do that.
- 14:04SPEAKER_01: It's hard on our minds and our systems to be doing that all the time.
- 14:09SPEAKER_01: It's not normal.
- 14:11SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 14:11SPEAKER_01: So putting it down for a while is how we survive it.
- 14:16SPEAKER_01: And we're talking about, we're we've been talking about the fundamentals and we're not tying in well how it connects to libido.
- 14:24SPEAKER_01: Without these fundamentals, the libido doesn't work.
- 14:27SPEAKER_01: Yes, you know, as you were saying, it's the creative life force energy.
- 14:33SPEAKER_01: It is what tells us to reproduce and to make more of us.
- 14:38SPEAKER_01: And in our at its essence, if we are not feeling safe, yeah, if we our our basic needs aren't being met, our bodies are like, sorry, life is not supportive of life right now.
- 14:55SPEAKER_01: You know, we're in survival mode.
- 14:57SPEAKER_01: This is not going to work.
- 14:59SPEAKER_01: And our life force energy is transferred to other systems, other parts of our body to survive.
- 15:06SPEAKER_00: Yes, yes.
- 15:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah, this is so relative in in all these different areas of, you know, people are like, How do I tap into intuition more and channel more and right?
- 15:18SPEAKER_00: Sex drive and Libya, like it's it's all relative.
- 15:21SPEAKER_00: When you have your mind on other areas or your nervous system is trying to like it's like in survival, fight, or flight, the energy is moving and processing, like you said, through these other systems.
- 15:35SPEAKER_00: And there's not enough energy.
- 15:38SPEAKER_00: I mean, there is enough, there's enough energy, we're limitless beings, but it is being moved into a different area.
- 15:45SPEAKER_00: And it's like we're like processing systems and we're processing here and processing here.
- 15:50SPEAKER_00: And I always I'm like getting this visual of like the computer processing and it's slow.
- 15:54SPEAKER_00: It's like that's it's like, oh, we're we're not sure if we're processing.
- 15:58SPEAKER_00: The body is like, I don't know, I don't know.
- 16:00SPEAKER_00: Do I do I?
- 16:01SPEAKER_00: Do I not?
- 16:02SPEAKER_00: You know, do I go into sex drive?
- 16:04SPEAKER_00: Ah, you know what?
- 16:05SPEAKER_00: I don't even want to think about that with my partner right now because I'm thinking about all these other things.
- 16:09SPEAKER_00: So we have our body, mind, and spirit to consider to the foundational pieces of how these areas are, can be killing our sex drive and our libido if we're not tending to them and we're not honoring and respecting what we need.
- 16:28SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 16:29SPEAKER_01: You've got to see you have to slow down in life to have a good libido.
- 16:34SPEAKER_01: Like you just do.
- 16:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 16:36SPEAKER_01: Otherwise, again, you're in survival mode all the all the time.
- 16:39SPEAKER_01: Another thing, sleep.
- 16:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 16:42SPEAKER_01: Sleep.
- 16:43SPEAKER_01: We have to get enough sleep.
- 16:45SPEAKER_01: It is basic stuff.
- 16:47SPEAKER_01: And I know this because I am a champion non-sleeper.
- 16:51SPEAKER_01: I am a champion of go, go, go.
- 16:53SPEAKER_01: I have been for a long time, and I can get by on five hours of sleep.
- 16:58SPEAKER_01: And I mean it when I say getting by.
- 17:02SPEAKER_01: It is not healthy.
- 17:04SPEAKER_01: My libido goes in the toilet when I don't get enough sleep.
- 17:10SPEAKER_01: And it's amazing what two days of full sleep can just perk it right up.
- 17:15SPEAKER_01: Because again, we are in that survival mode.
- 17:19SPEAKER_01: Our bodies are.
- 17:20SPEAKER_01: So, for example, our sleep cycle is so important because we go through four different stages when we sleep.
- 17:30SPEAKER_01: And at each one of those stages, our body goes through a different repair cycle.
- 17:36SPEAKER_01: And then we just move through those stages all night long.
- 17:40SPEAKER_01: So our body's repairing all night long.
- 17:43SPEAKER_01: If we are not moving through all the stages of sleep and we aren't doing it enough, we're literally all our repair functions in our brain, our nervous system, our body, they don't get rebooted.
- 17:56SPEAKER_01: I can't even tell you how much pain decreases in my body when I get enough sleep.
- 18:00SPEAKER_01: Everything freaking hurts when I don't get enough sleep.
- 18:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 18:05SPEAKER_01: It is imperative to a good sex life to be rested.
- 18:10SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 18:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 18:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 18:12SPEAKER_00: I mean, you know, if you're not really sleeping, I mean, do you really feel do you feel like you have enough energy for activities?
- 18:21SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 18:22SPEAKER_00: You know, I don't know.
- 18:23SPEAKER_00: I mean, everyone does different things, but you can be jumping around, you can be, well, whatever you're doing, right?
- 18:27SPEAKER_00: But if you're fucking tired, like, all right, I'm just gonna, nope, not even gonna go there.
- 18:32SPEAKER_00: Not even gonna go there.
- 18:33SPEAKER_00: I don't feel like Redding, my partner.
- 18:35SPEAKER_00: I'm too damn tired.
- 18:36SPEAKER_01: It's just way too much effort right now.
- 18:39SPEAKER_01: I can't even think about it.
- 18:40SPEAKER_00: I'm not gonna get up and do that, you know?
- 18:43SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 18:43SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 18:44SPEAKER_00: So yeah, the energy is so important.
- 18:47SPEAKER_00: And the energy moves into just pure enthusiasm and like, oh my gosh, I get to do this.
- 18:56SPEAKER_00: Not I have to do this.
- 18:58SPEAKER_00: And so if I already have the foundational pieces, then you know, it's it's more effortless.
- 19:06SPEAKER_01: And scrolling on the phone and watching, so the light from the artificial light messes up our algorithms, our what do I want to say?
- 19:18SPEAKER_01: Our cycle.
- 19:20SPEAKER_01: Yes, circadian rhythm, our circadian cycle.
- 19:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 19:24SPEAKER_01: So then we don't sleep well.
- 19:26SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 19:27SPEAKER_01: So again, it's the technology, it's wise, judicious use of technology that is required.
- 19:34SPEAKER_01: It's don't be looking at your phone before you go to bed.
- 19:38SPEAKER_01: Don't if you need to listen to something or listen to the TV at night, listen to it.
- 19:42SPEAKER_01: Don't watch it.
- 19:44SPEAKER_01: Take take the light out of it, take that factor away.
- 19:48SPEAKER_01: It makes all the difference in the world.
- 19:51SPEAKER_01: Um slowing down sleep, food.
- 19:56SPEAKER_01: Oh, oh, the food.
- 19:59SPEAKER_01: I'm a lover of food.
- 20:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 20:01SPEAKER_01: I deeply love food.
- 20:03SPEAKER_01: I do too.
- 20:04SPEAKER_01: Let me tell you, our modern life and food, it's really hard.
- 20:08SPEAKER_01: So I learned this the hard way.
- 20:11SPEAKER_01: A lot of the plastics we use gets into our food, especially if you put hot food into plastic.
- 20:19SPEAKER_01: Uh things can leach out of the plastic.
- 20:21SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 20:22SPEAKER_01: And they mimic hormones like estrogen.
- 20:24SPEAKER_01: So it can screw you up.
- 20:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 20:27SPEAKER_01: The hot plastic, the so the chemicals in which we store our food plastic is chemicals.
- 20:34SPEAKER_01: Um can mimic our hormones and totally throw our hormone balance off.
- 20:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 20:40SPEAKER_01: So how we eat and what we eat and what we store it in.
- 20:43SPEAKER_01: I use glass containers now.
- 20:46SPEAKER_01: I I use plastic for cold things.
- 20:48SPEAKER_01: I do not put anything hot in plastic ever.
- 20:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 20:53SPEAKER_01: And it's made a huge difference.
- 20:54SPEAKER_01: And the hormones in our food and what we eat.
- 20:57SPEAKER_01: I eat organic.
- 20:58SPEAKER_01: If I don't eat organic, it's not even a matter of taste or anything.
- 21:02SPEAKER_01: I get depressed.
- 21:04SPEAKER_01: It affects my body in a very significant way.
- 21:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 21:09SPEAKER_01: And uh depression, that's brain hormones.
- 21:12SPEAKER_01: So what we put into our body affects our hormones, and hormones are everything.
- 21:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 21:19SPEAKER_01: When it comes to libido.
- 21:20SPEAKER_00: Yeah, exactly.
- 21:22SPEAKER_01: And basically happy running body health.
- 21:24SPEAKER_00: Yes, yeah.
- 21:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's it's the balance of what it are of our body.
- 21:29SPEAKER_00: And again, like if our body is diverting somewhere else, then is it really gonna like, is it really gonna want to, is the libido gonna really be at its balanced normal self?
- 21:41SPEAKER_00: So it's really understanding our body, mind, and spirit and being able to say, like, what's my maybe even too, like, what is a a routine that is feasible as manageable, and just taking one step at a time with that, you know, even just starting out and saying, Okay, I'm gonna get my sleep routine.
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: In order, focus on that.
- 22:02SPEAKER_00: I would probably say that's a really good first start to look at that.
- 22:05SPEAKER_01: Even if you're only like doing it four days a week.
- 22:09SPEAKER_01: If doing it seven days a week, you're like, that is not feasible.
- 22:12SPEAKER_01: I probably get like just good sleep on the weekend.
- 22:15SPEAKER_01: Make a goal.
- 22:16SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna fit in two weekday weeks to get better sleep and to get enough sleep.
- 22:22SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna cut these things out and make this happen on Tuesday and Thursday too.
- 22:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 22:26SPEAKER_01: You know, small changes make big, big changes.
- 22:30SPEAKER_01: Yeah, exactly.
- 22:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 22:33SPEAKER_00: And the other area too is that I was I would probably say most people walk around and we're just not fully turned on and aroused, and our libido is just like, or yeah, we're just not turned on 24-7.
- 22:51SPEAKER_00: So there is an effort in exploration and practicing, just whether it's connecting with our body, touch, um, all the beautiful things of exploration and and how that can increase our libido too.
- 23:12SPEAKER_00: Or like just even just awareness of wow, this feels really good.
- 23:16SPEAKER_00: And the body's like, oh yeah, that does feel good.
- 23:19SPEAKER_00: You know, so we're just we just I don't know.
- 23:22SPEAKER_00: I mean, I I can't speak for everyone because I do say myself, I said there's a lot of turn on in my area when I walk around, but you know, like that's not always the norm.
- 23:31SPEAKER_00: It's not we're not like walking around, just lights on.
- 23:35SPEAKER_01: You've also worked to do you've also worked though to be very embodied in your body, yeah, to be present with your body when we are cycling through our head, whether it be on our phone, whether it be thinking about our overburdened schedule that we have created for ourselves and made it an expectation that we are supposed to keep up with this, like it's freaking normal.
- 23:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah, all that energy goes up into our head and we are not in our body.
- 24:05SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 24:05SPEAKER_01: We're ignoring our body.
- 24:07SPEAKER_01: We can be in pain and we just don't realize it.
- 24:09SPEAKER_01: And then we realize we're in pain and we're, I can't keep going.
- 24:12SPEAKER_01: I better take some Tylenol so I can keep going instead of wow, I hurt.
- 24:16SPEAKER_01: I should probably rest right now.
- 24:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 24:18SPEAKER_01: What is going on?
- 24:19SPEAKER_01: What is going on?
- 24:20SPEAKER_01: I need to stop.
- 24:21SPEAKER_01: I need to rest.
- 24:22SPEAKER_01: It's paying attention and being in the body and what the body has to tell us.
- 24:27SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 24:28SPEAKER_01: Um, yeah, that's true.
- 24:30SPEAKER_01: Interesting stuff.
- 24:31SPEAKER_01: So I've worked on being paying attention to my body and using it as a barometer of what is going on in my life and what is going on in the moment.
- 24:41SPEAKER_01: And last night I had this moment of walking my dog.
- 24:48SPEAKER_01: And when I turned down a certain street, my throat got tight and my chest got tight.
- 24:53SPEAKER_01: And I just stopped and I went, This is really weird.
- 24:57SPEAKER_01: And I turned the other way and went down another road and it went away.
- 25:02SPEAKER_01: And so I played with it, and I started just turning down streets and like, does it close off there?
- 25:10SPEAKER_01: I'm like, okay.
- 25:11SPEAKER_01: What I realized, what the message was getting across, was I was going to go on this moderate walk, not a short one.
- 25:18SPEAKER_01: My body was telling me to go on a short walk because I needed the rest.
- 25:22SPEAKER_01: It was literally giving me like physical signals of no, don't go down that way.
- 25:27SPEAKER_01: It's too far.
- 25:28SPEAKER_01: It's too far.
- 25:28SPEAKER_01: We need to do on a shorter walk.
- 25:30SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 25:30SPEAKER_01: So the more you do it, the more your body talks to you.
- 25:34SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 25:34SPEAKER_01: And I know you have lots of experience with that.
- 25:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 25:37SPEAKER_01: Lots.
- 25:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 25:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 25:38SPEAKER_00: You, and you're you gave such a good example, too.
- 25:42SPEAKER_00: That is just just modern day, like, this is what's going on.
- 25:45SPEAKER_00: I'll say, you know, it was you did a good call out.
- 25:49SPEAKER_00: You're like, yeah, you've you've done a lot of the work.
- 25:52SPEAKER_00: And I did not come from a space where I had a high libido.
- 25:55SPEAKER_00: I did not.
- 25:57SPEAKER_00: Did not.
- 25:58SPEAKER_00: For sure.
- 25:59SPEAKER_00: No, no, no, no.
- 26:00SPEAKER_00: And so doing the work to be in the actual fucking body and present, and that includes body, mind, spirit, everything is coming back to the now.
- 26:11SPEAKER_00: And it comes back to is my mind thinking about something else, or am I actually physically feeling the sensations of this present moment?
- 26:21SPEAKER_00: I talk about mindfulness tools all the time, being in the sensations of here.
- 26:25SPEAKER_00: And when you are, you realize, damn, everything feels really good.
- 26:30SPEAKER_00: You know, so it's bliss, it's it's love, it's bliss.
- 26:33SPEAKER_00: It's like, wow, this is just the the juice of life.
- 26:35SPEAKER_00: You get to it have an orgasmic experience and when eating something, you can that's a thing.
- 26:43SPEAKER_00: That is absolutely a thing.
- 26:44SPEAKER_00: Oh, yes, yes, it is.
- 26:46SPEAKER_00: So right when you when you tune into the presence of life, then in your in your body and all the other things are balanced, then your libido is not even, I don't even have to think about like doing what is that?
- 27:03SPEAKER_00: You know, it's just here, it's now.
- 27:05SPEAKER_01: So yeah, I love that.
- 27:08SPEAKER_01: What's your one takeaway for today?
- 27:10SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I would say tend to body, mind, and spirit.
- 27:18SPEAKER_00: Um, they're they're all components in different layers, and these are opportunities for us to explore how this is impacting our libido.
- 27:30SPEAKER_00: So it may not just be one thing, but you just start somewhere.
- 27:36SPEAKER_00: And we gave these examples.
- 27:38SPEAKER_00: There's so many examples.
- 27:40SPEAKER_00: There's so much science that I don't know, and there are things that you shared that is beautiful, but there when when there's an imbalance somewhere, uh, we have an opportunity to change things, and there's a lot of things that are tied to energetic components.
- 27:55SPEAKER_00: So just starting to tune in slowly can help us come back within and see that our libido was never lost.
- 28:03SPEAKER_00: We just forgot about it because we're attending and distractions.
- 28:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I like that.
- 28:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah, what about you?
- 28:12SPEAKER_01: Um, my takeaway would be remembering the basics.
- 28:18SPEAKER_01: One, two, and three.
- 28:19SPEAKER_01: So, you know, we have to slow down, yes, have to rest, have to monitor what we put into our body, and that has changed everything for me, especially when it comes to my libido.
- 28:33SPEAKER_01: And I came from Catholic, I had a high libido when I was young, it tanked in like my 30s, stressed out nurse, working too much.
- 28:44SPEAKER_01: Um, and I I did hormone therapy.
- 28:49SPEAKER_01: Um I talked to doctors about it.
- 28:52SPEAKER_01: I tried birth control.
- 28:53SPEAKER_01: I tried all sorts of things medically.
- 28:56SPEAKER_01: I would not slow down, I would not rest.
- 29:00SPEAKER_01: I even got more exercise.
- 29:03SPEAKER_01: I cleaned up my diet, which helped.
- 29:05SPEAKER_01: Rest and slowing down and getting in touch with my body and what I need has changed everything for me.
- 29:15SPEAKER_01: Before all that other really expensive, invasive, excessive stuff, the basics.
- 29:22SPEAKER_01: Slow down, rest, and put everything what agrees with your body into it.
- 29:28SPEAKER_00: I love that.
- 29:30SPEAKER_00: I love that.
- 29:30SPEAKER_00: Yes, good takeaways, good takeaways.
